Luigi Ceccaroni is a veteran researcher, well-known in the fields of citizen science and artificial intelligence. Luigi spent 11 years as the principal investigator and leader of very-large European Commission’s projects, including coordinating the 5 M€ citizens' observatory for coast and ocean's monitoring and forecasting Citclops, and the 5 M€ modeling and simulation project for systems medicine Synergy-COPD. His second book, titled “Analyzing the Role of Citizen Science in Modern Research”, was released in January 2017.
