Suburban Animals By Jane Eyre
I believe the thesis for Jane s essay is the following, As this essay will show, wild animals increasingly
find suburban life in the United States to be attractive. Which was located on the fourth paragraph of
her introduction. In the introduction, she starts off by talking about how America has changed
compared to decades ago. She speaks about how animals and humans are clashing with one another.
She says it s difficult to ignore this problem as there are stories about bears raiding trashcans and
mountain lions showing up frequently that turns up in the press or on television. Her theory on this
issue is because people are moving closer to the wilderness and are invading their land. Humans aren t
entirely the problem as she mention that

The Events Of The Crusades
The crusades had many factors leading up to these holy wars. Many of them included religious factors
since the main reason behind the crusades was religion. The crusades has more than just a religious
background, there are many social and political reasons behind the crusades too.
The first of the crusades happened between the years of 1096 1099 and began when Pope Urban the II
sent out a message informing his people to go to war against the Muslims in the Holy Land, or
Jerusalem. Armies of Christians from Western Europe then took over Jerusalem in 1099 and the
Muslims of the region vowed to start another holy war against the Christians to regain control of their
land. This led to the second crusade from 1147 1149 (1). The Muslim people began to regain the land
they had lost and overthrew Edessa, the ruler assigned to govern the land while the rest of the
crusaders went home. The Muslims then combined their forces with the Turks and together they
defeated the Crusaders thus ending the second crusade (1).
The third crusade was the result of the fall of Jerusalem. It occurred between the years 1189 1192 due
to the fact that Jerusalem had fallen under the control of Saladin, sultan of Egypt (1). Three armies
from Europe led by Richard of England, Phillip the II of France, and Frederick Barbarossa were going
to make an attempt to stop Saladin but Frederick died and the other two kings did not get along so the
third crusade failed (1). However, the fourth crusade was major

Gait Assessment
Gait is the most important function of daily living activities for all human beings. As physical
therapists and researchers we are particularly interested in evaluation of gait. There is a distinct
necessity for objective measurement of gait because without it the excellence of treatment decisions is
condensed, due to subjective and often unreliable nature of the assessment. Objective measures must
be employed to validate efficacy of the treatment protocol, a function that has become imperative
since health care resources are becoming more strained and health care providers are held more
accountable1. Gait assessment is an everyday responsibility of the therapist, and visual assessment
seems unreliable and erratic for the most part. Measurement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is evidence of using the software for populations with Stroke and Parkinson s disease, and
children with Cerebral Palsy. The psychometric properties of the walkway system have been
established in all these populations and normalization data is available for children as well. No data is
available for children diagnosed as idiopathic toe walkers. Persistent toe walking beyond age two
years merits further investigation because it can be a first sign of an underlying neuromuscular or
developmental abnormality like Cerebral Palsy (CP), Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and autism3 5.
Walking on toes has numerous consequences and primary gait deviations are seen in subjects at ankle
joint6. Evidence also shows that idiopathic toe walkers have significant increase in ankle
plantarflexion during stance and swing phases6. Hence, a bigger project to evaluate the use of
GAITRite in children diagnosed as idiopathic toe walkers is being planned. Therefore, the current
review aims to highlight available literature on the use of GAITRite in different populations and their
findings on the validity and reliability measures. Table 1 elaborates different studies valuated in
reaching our objective to validate the use of GAITRite as a gold standard tool for measuring temporo

John Maynard Keynes Was An Economist Who Served As An...
John Maynard Keynes was an economist who served as an economic adviser for the British delegation
at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Soon after, Keynes resigned from his position and wrote The
Economic Consequences of the Peace. A very influential work detailing the major pitfalls of the
Treaty of Versailles. Keynes discusses the economic consequences of the Treaty of Versailles on all of
Europe. He claims not to question the justifications of the treaty but rather to bring to light how Its
aims will cement the economic downfall Europe. He asserts that the treaty s provisions were
constructed through a veil of contempt and aimed to ensure the future enfeeblement of a strong and
dangerous enemy as well as to exact revenge, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He asserts that France was spiteful of Germanys superior economy before the war, however, France
feared that under the fourteen points Germany would surely recover quickly, surpass France, and use
those resources to war with France once again. France s aim then, was to wreck Germanys resources
and claim as many of them for France as possible. Therefore, the purpose of the treaty was to
obliterate Germanys power, physically, and economically and build up the French economy. Keynes
then lays out the provisions specifically designed to cripple Germanys economy and line France s
pockets at the expense of not only the German people, but Europe as a whole. According to Keynes,
Germanys successful economic operations were reliant on overseas commerce, Coal and Iron, and
transportations and tariffs, all economic systems that the treaty specifically attacked.
For example, he discusses the provision requiring Germany to cede all her rights and titles over her
oversea possessions as well as any positions or assets located in former German areas ceded to the
Allies. Keynes specifically points out that this includes railways, private property s, and companies,
however, not any debt that these properties or companies may have accrued. These provisions not only
would result in a considerable loss of revenue and overseas relations, but also considerable economic
enterprise. In addition, to this severe loss of property and assets,

Roger And Me Sociology
In the movie Roger and me by Michael Moore, the film reflects upon Flint, Michigan and the impact
of Roger s Smith position of closing down the Towns. Michael when he first heard about this in
California, decided to go down to his old town and wanted to document the direct impact it will have
on his hometown s lifestyle and changes they will need to deal with 30,000 employees losing their
jobs in the community. Michael s position on the plant closures is that the moving of this plant to
Mexico for cheaper wages and labor will impact the American s Dream which was created using the
industrial revolution. Flint, Michigan is known to be the Car Capital in the United States because the
G.M plant reflects the town as a whole being built upon the revolution and on the automotive industry
that is strong in North America. Michael Moore main objective was to talk to Roger Smith and
convince him to visit Flint, Michigan and let him see the impact the G.M plant closure had to the town
overall just in a three year period that was recorded in Michaels view.

Physical Therapy Ethics
Segment One Values, Ethics, and Behavior of Physical Therapy To be a successful physical therapist,
a person must have seven core values outline by the American Physical Therapy Association. The
seven core values from accountability to social responsibility shows what needs to be important in the
eyes of a physical therapist. The individual must also follow a strict code of ethics outlined by certain
rules and procedures. The code of ethics shows the obligation that a physical therapist makes to their
patients. Finally, for the individual to fully successes in any environment must have a certain
professional behavior depending on the atmosphere which they work in. If a physical therapist works
with kids, then the PT needs to have a calm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These rules set the ethical obligations determined by the APTA. The rules are set into eight principles
that follow the seven core values. As stated by the code of ethics, it defines the ethical principles that
form the foundation oh physical therapist practice in patient/ client management, consultation,
education, research, and administration. The first of eight principles state that physical therapists shall
respect the inherent dignity and rights of all individuals. This means that confidential information
must remain between the patient and PT. Second principle is physical therapists shall be trustworthy
and compassionate in addressing the right and needs of patients/clients. This brings back the core
value of Altruism and how the PT needs to care deeply about the client. Principle three says how
Physical therapists shall be accountable for making sound professional judgments. This means that PT
needs to always be making the right choice and how to approach rehabilitation for different patients.
The last important principle is that physical therapist always need to be relearning and refining their
knowledge, skills, and abilities. The education aspect of becoming a PT is life long as new research is
being developed every year. The PT needs to be able to change their practice if new knowledge is

Canada s Immigration Policy In The 20th Century
Canada s immigration policy has changed several times with many different extents of amendment
over the years. Particularly in times of social and economic downturns (or uprisings) throughout the
past, for instance World War I, the Depression, World War II, and even before 1914. In addition,
multiculturalism has made a drastic impact on immigration and Canadian s tolerance of other s
cultures. Canada s immigration policy has also affected Canada s population and the immigrants it
consists of. During the first half of the 20th century the restrictions of the immigration policy became
increasingly severe and discriminatory. Prior to 1914, immigration policies were known as the Open
Door policy it was relatively lenient, excluding only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1962, many new regulations were created that removed most limits on who can and cannot come to
Canada. Though Canada s government preferred British and European immigrants because they could
adapt easier, in 1967, Canada s legislation became colour blind and did t use the colour, ethnicity, or
cultural background as factors to determine the immigrant s status on becoming Canadian or not.
Instead they used a point system that was based on one s education and employment prospects. For
that reason, only certain amount of training for specific skills and tasks would have to take place for
them. On the other hand, refugees were constantly coming to Canada such as the 11,000 refugees that
came in 1968 after the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia. Another law came into play in 1976,
family members with relatives that were already in Canada were allowed to immigrate into Canada.
Throughout the 1970 s the three main groups of immigrants were: refugees, families (relatives), and
independent immigrants. The only group out of the three that made up the points system were the
independent immigrants. With that being stated, the policy was much more permissive during the
second half of the 20th century than the first

Overview of Entrepreneurship
Introduction Entrepreneurship refers to the ability and willingness to design, develop and organize a
business in order to realize profits. This is inclusive of management and risk taking in order to get
profitable returns. In economics, entrepreneurship refers to the capacity to combine the factors of
production such as labor, land and capital in order to realize profits. An entrepreneur is any person
with the ability to manage, assume the risk, and conduct business in order to gain profits. An
entrepreneur can identify opportunities, combine locally available resources, and make a plan to start a
business. In simple terms, an entrepreneur is someone who can create value in resources.
Entrepreneurship is a day to day activity where an entrepreneur regularly comes up with new ways of
doing business and creating value in order to meet the needs and expectations of customers or
consumers. Significant traits and typologies of entrepreneurs One must portray unique traits,
characteristics, and typologies order to be a successful entrepreneur. The traits and characteristics will
distinguish an entrepreneur from others. The unique traits will also enhance skills and performance in
carrying out entrepreneurial duties. Typologies refer to the classification of entrepreneurs. The two
widely known entrepreneurs include; Craftsman entrepreneurs and opportunistic entrepreneurs.
According to Landstorm (2007), the craftsman entrepreneurs came from lower class backgrounds and

What Is The Conflict Of The Victorian Age
He Victorian age experienced a conflict between science and religion. The era found its orthodoxy
battered by movements of thoughts, like Positivism, Empiricism, Utilitarianism, Rationalism,
Liberalism and Marxism which assailed all honest minds with scepticism. There was the new Biblical
criticism and a spurt of scientific progress. They led the generation to secularization, agnosticism,
atheism and religious passivity.
Mostly, the writers of the age revolted against the deification of material progress. The poets were
perhaps the best interpreters of the age (Brett 18). They illustrated in their poems the religious temper,
its faith, doubts and conflicts of their time. The age these poets inherited was rather a fluid transitional
one. The dilemma of the age assaulted the poets very deeply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He was the embodiment of the best of England s greatest poets: the dreaminess of Spenser, the
majesty of Milton, the natural simplicity of Wordsworth, the fantasy of Blake and Coleridge, the

lacked was the dramatic power of the Elizabethans. Tennyson was the most representative poet of the
Victorian era (Joseph 305).
The progress of science had greatly influenced the temper of the age. Tennyson was conversant with
the concepts of geology, astrology and evolution, which contested and undermined the Biblical
beliefs, evoking crisis in faith. He was at once mystical and sceptical in his own temper, and so was fit
to become the spokesperson of the doubts and unbelief, and the quest for religious certainties of his
age (Kalla 118). His attitude was one of compromise and he propounded a via media between
materialistic science and dogmatic Christianity (Rockett

Questions On The Chinese Room
In Minds, Brains, and Programs John Searle objects to Computational Theory of Mind (CTM),
particularly that running a program on a computer and manipulating symbols does not mean that the
computer has understanding, or more generally a mind. In this paper I will first explain Searle s
Chinese Room, then I will explain CTM and how it relates to the Chinese Room. Following this I will
describe how the Chinese Room attacks the CTM. Next I will explain the Systems Reply to the
Chinese Room and how the Systems Reply actually undermines Searle s conclusion in the Chinese
Room. Then I will describe Searle s response to the Systems Reply and how that response undermines
the Systems Reply. Lastly, I will evaluate Searle s reply to the Systems Reply and defend the Systems
Reply against the points Searle raises against the Systems Reply. To explain the Chinese Room I will
first explain the instructions in the Chinese room; then I will explain how the man inside the room
manipulates these instructions. Finally, given that the man only operates the instructions, Searle s
conclusion is that the man does not understand Chinese. Therefore, the whole system does not
understand Chinese. The instructions in the room are a complex set of rules that guide the man inside
to receive inputs and produce outputs all written in Chinese. The instructions, written in English, tell
the man if you see this Chinese symbol paired with this Chinese symbol put down these Chinese

The Emperor s New Clothes In The Emperor s New Clothes, the Emperor asked two weavers to
weave him a cloth of extreme beauty and wealth something that said, I am Emperor. What the
Emperor did not know was that these weavers were impostors who in the end made him look very
idiotic with his extraordinary dress of absolutely nothing! However, he did not choose to see that what
he was wearing was clearly nonexistent, instead he chose to believe that he was of higher standing
than anyone else in his city. Social class is linked to the way people dress every day. This is
exemplified in Hans Christian Andersen s short story, The Emperor s New Clothes. How is ... Show

One might even notice that this whole clothing epidemic is going on right in front of their own eyes.
Girls these days especially are prone to being sucked in by the way they dress. They believe that how
they dress affects their popularity status. I myself have gone through this being a young girl at one
point! I wonder where they could have gotten this idea from? Oh, that is right, this idea has been going
on since the ancient times! In conclusion, the way people dress is indeed important. It has been
important from the beginning of the ancient times until today. As much as we would like to believe
that Hans Christian Andersen s interpretation of dress is not what is important, there is absolutely no
way that this is possible for us. We are shallow as a whole. Much like the Emperor was in The

All The Pretty Horses Research Paper
Guns and Cowboys: The end of an era Many recognize the classic image of the cowboy in an old
western movie: the fearless, stoic hero that stays calm in moments of crisis. In Cormac McCarthy s All
the Pretty Horses, readers witness the protagonist, John Grady Cole, attempt to revive this famous
archetype. Beginning as early as when the first pilgrims came to the new continent, Americans have
always had a desire to settle Native American lands. In the time that followed, the West became a sort
of proving ground for the Europeans and their decedents. During the nineteenth century, the image of
land being settled by men on horses, who literally took the law into their own hands through their
shotguns, became pervasive in the American mind. By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Born in 1933, McCarthy grew up the son of a prominent lawyer as one of six children. Despite his
upper class upbringing, McCarthy dropped out of the University of Tennessee, couldn t hold a steady
job, and asked his first wife to support him while he wrote his first book, which consequently lead to
their divorce. Even after his writing earned him widespread acclaim, McCarthy still continued to live
in hotels, cut his own hair, and do his laundry at a Laundromat. After living in Spain where he became
fluent in the language, McCarthy moved to the Southwest where he has lived since the 1970s. During
an interview with The New York Times in 1992 Richard B. Woodward recorded that, McCarthy doesn
t write about places he hasn t visited, and he has made dozens of similar scouting forays to Texas,
New Mexico, Arizona and across the Rio Grande into Chihuahua, Sonora and Coahuila. The vast
blankness of the Southwest desert served as a metaphor for the nihilistic violence in his last novel,
Blood Meridian, published in 1985. And this unpopulated, scuffed up terrain again dominates the
background in All the Pretty Horses, which will appear next month from Knopf (Woodward). Other
prominent works by McCarthy include Suttree (1979), Blood Meridian (1985), No Country for Old
Men (2005), The Road (2006), and The Sunset Limited (2006): all of which take place in the

Francis And Al-Kamil
Francis and al Kamil shared stories of faith with one another. They met regularly and discussed
matters of faith. Although the two did not share the exact same beliefs, they grew a profound respect
for one another. When Francis left to return home, al Kamil presented him with a trumpet made of
ivory.
By 1220, the order numbered five thousand friars and needed to be governed more cogently. Francis
could no longer handle the duties of overseeing so many people, so Pope Honorius III required him to
bring more organization to the order. At this time, Francis appointed Peter of Catanii as minister
general to oversee the order. Within a year, Francis wrote a more formal letter to govern the order.
Over the next few years, he would debate and revise the rule. In 1223, Pope Honorius III approved the
Third Order.
The Beginning of the End
Over the next few years, his health would continue to deteriorate. He contracted a form of leprosy and
was mostly blind. He returned to San Domiano and was placed under the care of Clare and the sisters.
He asked to be taken back to Portiuncula. It is there that he dies and is buried in 1226.

from adolescence to late adulthood. This paper will analyze the final four stages of development,
which includes: Adolescence, Young Adulthood, Middle Adulthood, and Late Adulthood. However,
one of the major criticisms of the stage theories is that they do not equally apply to all individuals.

22). This stage may also be impacted by a person s sexual identity. According to Levy (2009),
sexual identity is not simple or clean cut and does not stand alone. It intersects with other aspects of
identity such as race, ethnicity, class, gender, religion, education, and so forth (p. 982). What is
considered normal sexual behavior does not constitute homosexuality. Therefore, adolescents who are
struggling with their sexuality, may run into an identity crisis by trying to find themselves while trying
to appeal to societal norms. While the pressure to conform to the heterosexual norm, gays and lesbians
may struggle with their same sex desires. Further, with this schism between their desires, behaviors,
and identities, individuals may experience isolation, low self esteem, depression, and anger (Levy,
2009, p. 983). Unsuccessful resolution of this crisis may lead to role confusion or identity diffusion
(Robins et. all, 2012, p. 215). According to Robins et. Al (2012), youths who emerge with a strong
sense of identity and individuality gain a lasting ego quality of fidelity, or freely pledged loyalties (p.

Intimacy Vs. Isolation Erik Erikson s sixth stag of psychosocial development is Young Adulthood

Similarities Between Don Quixote And Sancho Panza

and differences between the two main characters in the story of The Epic of Gilgamesh. When
analyzing both stories, one may see how the relationship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu compares to
the relationship between Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. The Epic of Gilgamesh is an epic poem
from ancient Mesopotamia, and is often regarded as one of the earliest texts of literature. However, the
main characters in the poem are both Gilgamesh and Enkidu. In Don Quixote, Sancho Panza and

How do the characters from Don Quixote contrast from the two main characters in The Epic of

began to be the neighbor of Alonso, and throughout time Sancho began to be his personal attendant. At
first Sancho is quite timid, or bashful. Sancho Panza was known to be Don Quixote s correct lens for

The Effect Of Ethanol On The Production Of Ethanol
The production of Ethanol has been happening for many of years. The production of Ethanol is a form
alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is
produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological
process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is
glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when
yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different
types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different
fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a
vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in.
The Volmith Boutique Brewery has recently opened up their business and the demand of their
products has put stress on their staff. They have hired an group to conduct out a series of experiments
to observe the significant changes that might hinder or improve the production rate of the alcohol
being produced. The first variable we change was the temperature the group keep the flasks at. It was
hypothesised by the individual that the flasks that were at the temperature of 37 degrees and 25
degrees were to produce the most ethanol. This is because the optimal temperature for yeast is in
between 35 45 degrees. The flask that

Why The Atomic Bomb Did Not Win The War
Why the bomb seemed like it would make the war worst it actually ended the war quicker. The war
ended quicker because it finally caused Japan to surrender and accept the defeat. The atomic bomb did
not win the war. Japan had been defeated already by land, sea, and air campaign that went before. It is
reasonable to conclude, however, that the bomb did force the Japanese surrender and considerably
sooner than it would have occurred otherwise. (Text 1 Page 8). The bomb did not win but it ended it
because Japan s way of fighting is fight to the last man and it is better to die in combat than to
surrender. If the bomb had been dropped sooner it would ve been the factor that won the war, but since
Japan had little fighting effort in the air

In 1923 Sigmund Freud authored a paper called The Ego and the Id, which is an analytical study of
the human psyche. Called the Structural Theory, this theory categorizes psychological conditions into
three divisions: the Id, the Super Ego, and the Ego. The Id is best thought of as a newborn child driven
by instinctive drives and impulses and seeks instant gratification. The Super Ego is the multiplicative
inverse of the Id, representing a father figure and a moral compass. The Ego serves as the mediator
between the Id and the Super Ego and takes into account external factors to derive a clear view of
reality. The theory has spurred much discussion in the scientific community, but the concept is firmly

The Id like person throws caution to the wind, takes risks without thinking through implications, and
allows the dreamer in him to lead his actions. The Super Ego like person is highly risk averse, needs to

minutes after eating. The Ego like person has drive and is willing to take risks, but seeks to understand
situations enough to take calculated risks as opposed to foolish risks.
While reading this, you may have thought of a friend or family member who fits into each of the
above categories. You may have also slotted yourself as being predominantly Id, Super Ego, or Ego

Super Ego like in others. As this specifically applies to starting and running your own small business,
it is vitally important that you identify whether you are more Id, Super Ego, or Ego like and that you
balance who you are with others who fit into the other categories; thus the following

Mobile Shopping In Mobile E-Commerce
Introduction
With evolving technologies and digital innovation, mobile e commerce is rapidly growing. Mobile
devices, especially smartphones, have revolutionized the online shopping experience with time and
seems like it s just the beginning to the frontier.
M commerce is shopping through a mobile device smartphones or tablets. This experience is
becoming a habit for many consumers. According to a study among 1,000 US merchants, 16% of them
already have an established mobile shopping channel and 32% of them are on strategic phase to start
selling products through mobile within a year (Meola, 2016).
The mobile shopping is expected to grow bigger and bigger. As per the US Census Bureau and
comScore, in 2014, m commerce was 11.6% of the $303 billion USA e commerce total and estimated
to increase to 45% of the total e commerce value by 2020 (Meola, 2016).A large market share with
potential to grow into a billion dollars
Industry and constant technological advancements in Android and iOS operating systems will
transform m commerce very soon. This makes it critical to evaluate this EC initiative and obtain a
more holistic picture about shopping from a touch of a button.
Evolution of Mobile Commerce

Analysis Of Tally Youngblood In The Uglies By Scott...
In the fiction novel The Uglies, Tally Youngblood is a fifteen year old girl with a rebellious spirit who
lives life on the edge of insanity. In The Uglies, Scott Westerfield uses conflict to reveal how Tally s
perspective of the Smoke and New Pretty Town has changed over the course of the story. This story
gives its reader a strong insight into some of life s adventures and the drama that comes along with
growing up, as well as the operation you get when you turn 16 years old. You can see Tally change
when she firsts starts traveling to the Smoke in search of her friend Shay. She changes a lot from the
life and death stuff that she goes through on her way to the Smoke. Tally almost falls off the cliff when
she is hover boarding, and you can tell it changes her from going fast and not reading between the
lines, so she starts to slow down and think before she acts. You can really see Tally change when the
Rangers save her from the fire that they started to get rid of the white tiger orchid flower. The white
tiger orchid is a flower that acts like a weed, and it is spreading all over the world. The only way to get
rid of it is by fire, and that is the Rangers job ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about Women s Prostitution and the Criminal Justice...
In the following assignment, it is my intention to produce a research report, examining women
involved in street prostitution and how they end up entering the criminal justice system. Within the
report I will look at three pieces of research, review their main findings, the type of research that was
used, and look to identify where I believe further research is required.
My reason for choosing women in the criminal justice system is that I have expressed an interest in
the criminal justice setting and my elective module is in this area. Anything that I learn from
undertaking this assignment will aid my understanding and increase my knowledge base when
undertaking my second placement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women involved in street prostitution are subjected to routine violence and in the last 7 years, there
have been unresolved murders and suspicious deaths, (Women s Support Project 2001). Historically,
policing practices have been heavy handed and local government has sought to limit the spread of
indoor prostitution. This is in contrast to the population of indoor prostitution in Edinburgh, which is
approximately (90%) with only around 50 women involved in street prostitution, the proportion of
intravenous drug users is also reportedly lower (Mackay, F Schaap, A 2000).
In England and Wales between 1989 and 1995 there were 1,700 convictions of young people under 18
for offences relating to prostitution with a further 2,300 cautions issued. It was within this same period
that there was a 40% increase in the number of recorded cases, which involved children aged 16 or
under, (Mackay, F Schaap, A 2000). This has lead to the publication of national guidelines on the
safeguarding of children involved in street prostitution in England and Wales (Department of Health,
2000).
Over the years there has been more and more research carried out in relation to the issues surrounding
street prostitution, with the government trying to identify areas

The Optimist s Daughter By Eudora Welty
Death and dying is an inescapable process that all humans will face at some time in life, whether it is
the death of a friend or family member. After experiencing the death of a loved one comes the process
of grieving, which is part of coping with the loss of a loved one. The Optimist s Daughter is a novel
written by Eudora Welty, and it is based on a girl named Laurel McKelva Hand and her struggles with
grief. Laurel utilizes memory to overcome the grief she experiences, resulting from the loss of her
family. Clinton McKelva is a Judge and the father of Laurel McKelva. Laurel left the southern United
States for the North and later returns home to see her father before he dies. Being gone so long, Laurel
s remembrance of her father is blurry. Laurel s relationship with her dad is cold, and her last thoughts
of him are of his optimistic attitude and not introspective. Laurel s pain is followed, after Mr.
McKelva s passing, by the discovery of her father s library. She attempts to use the library, after his
death, to relive some of her and her dad s past through its contents (Gygax). An attempt to find
evidence of the judge s past in his desk fails. It becomes clear that her father s possessions have
already been removed. Instead of finding material pertaining to her father s past, Laurel comprehends
there is nothing left except the books on the shelves, which makes her reminisce over the sound of her
dad reading aloud. Ironically, not even this memory can bring the father

The General Overhead And Construction Projects Essay
In the past, the general overhead in construction projects was not important compared to project costs.
However, with the new construction environment and its changes such as the high usage of lean, BIM,
and LEED, everything has changed. Nowadays, most of the construction contractors are measuring
their general overhead costs and trying to control it. To gain profits, they started to allocate their
general overhead costs to different construction projects they are working on. In this paper, we
investigate how a construction company (general contractor) manages its general overhead costs.
Preceding this stage, we should provide few definitions of the general overhead costs in order to give
readers a deep insight of what this paper is about. Moreover, it is essential to explain how construction
contractors allocate their general overhead costs to construction projects, what methods they tend to
use for allocating, and what advantages and disadvantages does every method have. Further, we shift
our focus to activity based costing method by defining it and describing its steps. Since the main
purpose of this paper is to examine how construction contractors deal with their general overhead
costs, an interview should be conducted to know how contractors allocate general overhead cost to
construction projects to get profits. Indeed, each construction contractor may use a specific method
when allocating. Due to our interest in estimating, the interview was conducted with a senior

Art And Cultural Changes In America
This week s paper will be about the change of views in America and how art and culture along with
changes in technology helped America grow. The world s fair in Chicago in 1893 was the 400 year
anniversary of Christopher Columbus discovering the new world. The buildings were made from a
variety of materials. I hope you enjoy this essay.
The first topic will be the World s fair of 1893. Like I started to say in my beginning paragraph the
400th year anniversary of Christopher Columbus arrival in America. The exhibits were all made to
represent the 50 states and the different cultures for all the world to see. This was a key time in
American history with a vast number of immigrants coming over to America. So, these were a focal

Now the ashcan school was more of a painting revolution. It focused a lot on New York city s
everyday life and the struggle especially in the poorer neighborhoods.
The ashcan school took the innovations in brushes and paints to show realism. Now the last subject I d
like to talk about is how art reflects the society we live in. I believe that all forms of art are a reflection
of what s going on in society at that time like the ashcan school like I mentioned before focused on the
economic hardships in New York city. The paintings from John Sloan come to mind as they were of
everyday people in bars and restaurants which like I said before were the place to be and showed how
society was in that era from the clothes to the food and drink I think John Sloan captured that image
perfectly. George Bellows was also great at capturing the current events I saw one painting called
Tennis in Newport. The painting showed just how the rich lived back in the Gilded age despite the
economic struggles in many big cities at the time. So, as you can tell this time in American history was
very crucial to the foundation of a growing

When Is Animal Testing Wrong
Every year, ten to one hundred million animals are tested on. Rats and mice were two thirds of that
total. In addition to that there are one hundred and eighty thousand dogs, fifty five thousand cats, five
hundred thousand rabbits, a similar number of guinea pigs, and sixty thousand primates. With these
numbers why still test on animals? Animal testing needs to stop. It is wrong. These animals are dying
from neglect and harsh conditions. Animal testing is not even one hundred percent accurate! People
have talked about the pain and the conditions they had lived in during the breeding experiments during
World War Two. Again, why is animal testing still a thing?
In just one case of animal testing over 30 primates are dead. The primates ... Show more content on

However, people can. During World War Two Nazi physician Josef Mengele did experiments on
twins. These twins were interviewed and talked about what they endured. Giving blood and
submitting to X rays and injections were daily options to death, even though most, if the twins would
eventually die painful deaths. These people can talk about what it was like to be poked, prodded, and
used. They felt shame that they had survived not because they were strong, but because they were all
freaks of nature One survivor said that after all these years he cannot reconcile his experiences.
Animals are in the same predicament except, they can t tell us their pain or talk about what happens.
These people were in the same place as the animals. If we won t do it to people why are we doing it to
animals?
In conclusion, animal testing is wrong and it needs to stop. These animals are dying from things that
can easily be avoided. The animals that are tested on don t always bring accurate results. People have
talked about their experience with being tested on, yet we continue to use animals. These animals are
innocent and most of them only know life I m the testing facility. That is no way the

Analysis Of Long Day s Journey Into The Night And The Enemy
In the two readings of Eugene O Neill s Long Day s Journey Into the Night and Margarita Spalding
Gerry s The Enemy , we can compare and contrast the main characters of the women in each reading
on behalf of their drug addiction. In Eugene O Neill s Long Day s Journey Into the Night, Mary
Tyrone struggles with her addiction of Morphine and in Margarita Spalding Gerry s The Enemy , Mrs.
Campbell also struggles with morphine addiction. In both readings we can compare and contrast each
of these women s lifestyles and how they are affected by their morphine addiction. In both readings,
these two women were prescribed morphine by their doctors. In Long Day s Journey Into the Night,
Mary Tyrone is prescribed morphine for her so called Rheumatism and Mrs. Cambell from The
Enemy was prescribed morphine for some slight neuralgic trouble, after analyzing both texts, it seems
like the reasons for their morphine prescription is just a cover up for a different and a more deep
reasoning to kill their pain. In The Enemy the doctor is blamed for prescribing Mrs. Campbell
morphine just to make a profit, Oh yes, there are always druggists that pander to anything with a profit
Both doctors can be put at fault for the start of their addiction for prescribing morphine to someone
who does not necessarily need it. By prescribing morphine to these women, they have an excuse to
continue their use of morphine because they believe they have a logical problem that they need to
control. In Long Day s Journey Into the Night, Mary recognizes her doctor is all in it for profit, I hate
doctors! They ll do anything anything to keep them coming to them. They ll sell their souls! What s
worse, they ll sell yours, and you never know it till one day you find yourself in hell! (P.76) Even
though Mary recognizes the truth behind these doctors, she stills uses her Rheumatism disease as a
legitimate excuse to use morphine as she explains to her son Edmund that she shouldn t be ashamed of
her addiction, I suffer from rheumatism in my hands and have to take medicine to kill the pain? Why
should I be ashamed of that? (P. 118) The more in depth cause of these addictions may be affected by
cultural expectations of their

Identifying The Identification Of Bacteria
Abstract
The identification of bacteria is a crucial procedure in the field of biology. Identification can be done
through a series of tests run on different forms of media that detect the physical and biochemical
properties of the cells. In this experiment, a sample containing two unknown species of bacteria was
run through fourteen tests to determine morphology, fermentation properties, reducing and oxidative
properties, and other various characteristics of each isolated unknown. It was concluded that the
sample contained Lactococcus lactis and Shigella flexneri.
Introduction It is fascinating to look around and see how much diversity exists on earth. Perhaps even
more interesting is the diversity that exists far beyond the naked eye. Over the past several decades, it
has been determined that microorganisms account for the majority of the biomass on earth and new
discoveries about these organisms are constantly being made (4). Bacteria make up a very large
domain of the prokaryotes, or single celled organisms. Bacteria have an enormous range of properties.
Some can be infectious and lead to maladies and fatalities; others can benefit us by contributing to
medications, foods, and even maintaining natural body functions like those in the digestive tract.
Bacteria are virtually everywhere. It is for these reasons that it is vital we learn as much as possible
about the once unseen organisms. Studying their physical and biochemical features can help us
understand how to

Symbolism In Revelations
... In the days of their prophecy: [they will] have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite
the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. (Rev. 11:6). This connection between blood and the
beginning of the plague are a key theme throughout Revelations, and have continued in modern
literature through zombieism and AIDS. Although the End is usually spoken about within the idea of
naturalistic destruction on Earth, the End may be more human than that and come unexpectedly from
humanity itself: They are frightening for the very reason that they do not look like our enemies at all...
they look disturbingly like our co workers, neighbours, friends and families (Dendle 50); they being
the key term. The idea of this they , this other ness in Revelations, gives us an insight of what is to

Otherness within zombieism can be represented through the Haitian zombie; the zombie symbol of
otherness, of blackness , of the savage in both the offensive and zombie context. Dendle discusses
blackness and the blood of the Haitian zombie within the context of a 1935 film called Ouanga; ...
even though her skin appeared fully white, she still has black blood in her veins... your white skin
doesn t change what s inside you (47). This directly connects to AIDS and the idea of the general
population , which can be explained as not just whites but heterosexuals (Sontag 67). Long goes into
detail of why this is, explaining that homosexuality itself [had already been made out to be] a
contagious disease; an apocalyptic signifier, a sign of end times , (2) so when the epidemic of AIDS
hit, the general population believed that it was punishment for not living God s way , and further
emphasized their other ness by mentioning its spread in South Africa. (Sontag

TeesforPeeps has decided to divide the market by the products that they purchase because it offers an
intuitive, and easy to understand presentation of the two different groups. An additional reason for
segmenting the market based on the two products is because the demographics for the buyers of the
two products are distinct enough to group them separately. Not only are TeesforPeeps is dividing the
market by product type, but also effectively dividing the market by age as well since the customers
who purchase the custom artwork shirts tend to be older than the group preferring the ready made
graphics. While this is not a hard and fast rule, it is a pretty accurate generalization. TeesforPeeps has
chosen these segments as their demographics (reasonably young) have the highest likelihood of
purchasing a t shirt from TeesforPeeps. Both of these segments are reasonably young. This is
important because most of TeesforPeeps s products are T shirts and younger people tend to wear them
frequently.
Music and television is also an important interest for the target markets since both segments listen to

  • 2. Suburban Animals By Jane Eyre I believe the thesis for Jane s essay is the following, As this essay will show, wild animals increasingly find suburban life in the United States to be attractive. Which was located on the fourth paragraph of her introduction. In the introduction, she starts off by talking about how America has changed compared to decades ago. She speaks about how animals and humans are clashing with one another. She says it s difficult to ignore this problem as there are stories about bears raiding trashcans and mountain lions showing up frequently that turns up in the press or on television. Her theory on this issue is because people are moving closer to the wilderness and are invading their land. Humans aren t entirely the problem as she mention that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Events Of The Crusades The crusades had many factors leading up to these holy wars. Many of them included religious factors since the main reason behind the crusades was religion. The crusades has more than just a religious background, there are many social and political reasons behind the crusades too. The first of the crusades happened between the years of 1096 1099 and began when Pope Urban the II sent out a message informing his people to go to war against the Muslims in the Holy Land, or Jerusalem. Armies of Christians from Western Europe then took over Jerusalem in 1099 and the Muslims of the region vowed to start another holy war against the Christians to regain control of their land. This led to the second crusade from 1147 1149 (1). The Muslim people began to regain the land they had lost and overthrew Edessa, the ruler assigned to govern the land while the rest of the crusaders went home. The Muslims then combined their forces with the Turks and together they defeated the Crusaders thus ending the second crusade (1). The third crusade was the result of the fall of Jerusalem. It occurred between the years 1189 1192 due to the fact that Jerusalem had fallen under the control of Saladin, sultan of Egypt (1). Three armies from Europe led by Richard of England, Phillip the II of France, and Frederick Barbarossa were going to make an attempt to stop Saladin but Frederick died and the other two kings did not get along so the third crusade failed (1). However, the fourth crusade was major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Gait Assessment Gait is the most important function of daily living activities for all human beings. As physical therapists and researchers we are particularly interested in evaluation of gait. There is a distinct necessity for objective measurement of gait because without it the excellence of treatment decisions is condensed, due to subjective and often unreliable nature of the assessment. Objective measures must be employed to validate efficacy of the treatment protocol, a function that has become imperative since health care resources are becoming more strained and health care providers are held more accountable1. Gait assessment is an everyday responsibility of the therapist, and visual assessment seems unreliable and erratic for the most part. Measurement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is evidence of using the software for populations with Stroke and Parkinson s disease, and children with Cerebral Palsy. The psychometric properties of the walkway system have been established in all these populations and normalization data is available for children as well. No data is available for children diagnosed as idiopathic toe walkers. Persistent toe walking beyond age two years merits further investigation because it can be a first sign of an underlying neuromuscular or developmental abnormality like Cerebral Palsy (CP), Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and autism3 5. Walking on toes has numerous consequences and primary gait deviations are seen in subjects at ankle joint6. Evidence also shows that idiopathic toe walkers have significant increase in ankle plantarflexion during stance and swing phases6. Hence, a bigger project to evaluate the use of GAITRite in children diagnosed as idiopathic toe walkers is being planned. Therefore, the current review aims to highlight available literature on the use of GAITRite in different populations and their findings on the validity and reliability measures. Table 1 elaborates different studies valuated in reaching our objective to validate the use of GAITRite as a gold standard tool for measuring temporo spatial gait ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. John Maynard Keynes Was An Economist Who Served As An... John Maynard Keynes was an economist who served as an economic adviser for the British delegation at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Soon after, Keynes resigned from his position and wrote The Economic Consequences of the Peace. A very influential work detailing the major pitfalls of the Treaty of Versailles. Keynes discusses the economic consequences of the Treaty of Versailles on all of Europe. He claims not to question the justifications of the treaty but rather to bring to light how Its aims will cement the economic downfall Europe. He asserts that the treaty s provisions were constructed through a veil of contempt and aimed to ensure the future enfeeblement of a strong and dangerous enemy as well as to exact revenge, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He asserts that France was spiteful of Germanys superior economy before the war, however, France feared that under the fourteen points Germany would surely recover quickly, surpass France, and use those resources to war with France once again. France s aim then, was to wreck Germanys resources and claim as many of them for France as possible. Therefore, the purpose of the treaty was to obliterate Germanys power, physically, and economically and build up the French economy. Keynes then lays out the provisions specifically designed to cripple Germanys economy and line France s pockets at the expense of not only the German people, but Europe as a whole. According to Keynes, Germanys successful economic operations were reliant on overseas commerce, Coal and Iron, and transportations and tariffs, all economic systems that the treaty specifically attacked. For example, he discusses the provision requiring Germany to cede all her rights and titles over her oversea possessions as well as any positions or assets located in former German areas ceded to the Allies. Keynes specifically points out that this includes railways, private property s, and companies, however, not any debt that these properties or companies may have accrued. These provisions not only would result in a considerable loss of revenue and overseas relations, but also considerable economic enterprise. Michael when he first heard about this in California, decided to go down to his old town and wanted to document the direct impact it will have on his hometown s lifestyle and changes they will need to deal with 30,000 employees losing their jobs in the community. Michael s position on the plant closures is that the moving of this plant to Mexico for cheaper wages and labor will impact the American s Dream which was created using the industrial revolution. In 1962, many new regulations were created that removed most limits on who can and cannot come to Canada. Though Canada s government preferred British and European immigrants because they could adapt easier, in 1967, Canada s legislation became colour blind and did t use the colour, ethnicity, or cultural background as factors to determine the immigrant s status on becoming Canadian or not. Instead they used a point system that was based on one s education and employment prospects. For that reason, only certain amount of training for specific skills and tasks would have to take place for them. On the other hand, refugees were constantly coming to Canada such as the 11,000 refugees that came in 1968 after the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia. Another law came into play in 1976, family members with relatives that were already in Canada were allowed to immigrate into Canada. Throughout the 1970 s the three main groups of immigrants were: refugees, families (relatives), and independent immigrants. • 10. What Is The Conflict Of The Victorian Age He Victorian age experienced a conflict between science and religion. The era found its orthodoxy battered by movements of thoughts, like Positivism, Empiricism, Utilitarianism, Rationalism, Liberalism and Marxism which assailed all honest minds with scepticism. There was the new Biblical criticism and a spurt of scientific progress. They led the generation to secularization, agnosticism, atheism and religious passivity. Mostly, the writers of the age revolted against the deification of material progress. The poets were perhaps the best interpreters of the age (Brett 18). They illustrated in their poems the religious temper, its faith, doubts and conflicts of their time. The age these poets inherited was rather a fluid transitional one. What he lacked was the dramatic power of the Elizabethans. Tennyson was the most representative poet of the Victorian era (Joseph 305). The progress of science had greatly influenced the temper of the age. Tennyson was conversant with the concepts of geology, astrology and evolution, which contested and undermined the Biblical beliefs, evoking crisis in faith. He was at once mystical and sceptical in his own temper, and so was fit to become the spokesperson of the doubts and unbelief, and the quest for religious certainties of his age (Kalla 118). • 11. Questions On The Chinese Room In Minds, Brains, and Programs John Searle objects to Computational Theory of Mind (CTM), particularly that running a program on a computer and manipulating symbols does not mean that the computer has understanding, or more generally a mind. In this paper I will first explain Searle s Chinese Room, then I will explain CTM and how it relates to the Chinese Room. Following this I will describe how the Chinese Room attacks the CTM. Next I will explain the Systems Reply to the Chinese Room and how the Systems Reply actually undermines Searle s conclusion in the Chinese Room. Then I will describe Searle s response to the Systems Reply and how that response undermines the Systems Reply. Lastly, I will evaluate Searle s reply to the Systems Reply and defend the Systems Reply against the points Searle raises against the Systems Reply. To explain the Chinese Room I will first explain the instructions in the Chinese room; then I will explain how the man inside the room manipulates these instructions. Finally, given that the man only operates the instructions, Searle s conclusion is that the man does not understand Chinese. Therefore, the whole system does not understand Chinese. The instructions in the room are a complex set of rules that guide the man inside to receive inputs and produce outputs all written in Chinese. The instructions, written in English, tell the man if you see this Chinese symbol paired with this Chinese symbol put down these Chinese symbols, or if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What the Emperor did not know was that these weavers were impostors who in the end made him look very idiotic with his extraordinary dress of absolutely nothing! However, he did not choose to see that what he was wearing was clearly nonexistent, instead he chose to believe that he was of higher standing than anyone else in his city. One might even notice that this whole clothing epidemic is going on right in front of their own eyes. Girls these days especially are prone to being sucked in by the way they dress. They believe that how they dress affects their popularity status. I myself have gone through this being a young girl at one point! I wonder where they could have gotten this idea from? Oh, that is right, this idea has been going on since the ancient times! In conclusion, the way people dress is indeed important. It has been important from the beginning of the ancient times until today. As much as we would like to believe that Hans Christian Andersen s interpretation of dress is not what is important, there is absolutely no way that this is possible for us. • 13. All The Pretty Horses Research Paper Guns and Cowboys: The end of an era Many recognize the classic image of the cowboy in an old western movie: the fearless, stoic hero that stays calm in moments of crisis. In Cormac McCarthy s All the Pretty Horses, readers witness the protagonist, John Grady Cole, attempt to revive this famous archetype. Beginning as early as when the first pilgrims came to the new continent, Americans have always had a desire to settle Native American lands. In the time that followed, the West became a sort of proving ground for the Europeans and their decedents. During the nineteenth century, the image of land being settled by men on horses, who literally took the law into their own hands through their shotguns, became pervasive in the American mind. By ... Despite his upper class upbringing, McCarthy dropped out of the University of Tennessee, couldn t hold a steady job, and asked his first wife to support him while he wrote his first book, which consequently lead to their divorce. Even after his writing earned him widespread acclaim, McCarthy still continued to live in hotels, cut his own hair, and do his laundry at a Laundromat. After living in Spain where he became fluent in the language, McCarthy moved to the Southwest where he has lived since the 1970s. During an interview with The New York Times in 1992 Richard B. Woodward recorded that, McCarthy doesn t write about places he hasn t visited, and he has made dozens of similar scouting forays to Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and across the Rio Grande into Chihuahua, Sonora and Coahuila. The vast blankness of the Southwest desert served as a metaphor for the nihilistic violence in his last novel, Blood Meridian, published in 1985. And this unpopulated, scuffed up terrain again dominates the background in All the Pretty Horses, which will appear next month from Knopf (Woodward). Other prominent works by McCarthy include Suttree (1979), Blood Meridian (1985), No Country for Old Men (2005), The Road (2006), and The Sunset Limited (2006): all of which take place in the American West. ... Although the two did not share the exact same beliefs, they grew a profound respect for one another. When Francis left to return home, al Kamil presented him with a trumpet made of ivory. By 1220, the order numbered five thousand friars and needed to be governed more cogently. Francis could no longer handle the duties of overseeing so many people, so Pope Honorius III required him to bring more organization to the order. At this time, Francis appointed Peter of Catanii as minister general to oversee the order. Within a year, Francis wrote a more formal letter to govern the order. Over the next few years, he would debate and revise the rule. In 1223, Pope Honorius III approved the Third Order. Introduction Erik Erickson s interest in how one s environment and social interaction drives human behavior and the development of personality, led him to create the psychosocial theory, Eight Stages of Man. Erikson s final four stages of psychosocial development describes a person s development from adolescence to late adulthood. This paper will analyze the final four stages of development, which includes: Adolescence, Young Adulthood, Middle Adulthood, and Late Adulthood. According to Levy (2009), sexual identity is not simple or clean cut and does not stand alone. It intersects with other aspects of identity such as race, ethnicity, class, gender, religion, education, and so forth (p. 982). What is considered normal sexual behavior does not constitute homosexuality. Therefore, adolescents who are struggling with their sexuality, may run into an identity crisis by trying to find themselves while trying to appeal to societal norms. While the pressure to conform to the heterosexual norm, gays and lesbians may struggle with their same sex desires. Further, with this schism between their desires, behaviors, and identities, individuals may experience isolation, low self esteem, depression, and anger (Levy, 2009, p. 983). Unsuccessful resolution of this crisis may lead to role confusion or identity diffusion (Robins et. all, 2012, p. 215). According to Robins et. Al (2012), youths who emerge with a strong sense of identity and individuality gain a lasting ego quality of fidelity, or freely pledged loyalties (p. 215). Intimacy Vs. • 18. The Effect Of Ethanol On The Production Of Ethanol The production of Ethanol has been happening for many of years. The production of Ethanol is a form alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in. The Volmith Boutique Brewery has recently opened up their business and the demand of their products has put stress on their staff. They have hired an group to conduct out a series of experiments to observe the significant changes that might hinder or improve the production rate of the alcohol being produced. The first variable we change was the temperature the group keep the flasks at. It was hypothesised by the individual that the flasks that were at the temperature of 37 degrees and 25 degrees were to produce the most ethanol. This is because the optimal temperature for yeast is in between 35 45 degrees. The flask that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Called the Structural Theory, this theory categorizes psychological conditions into three divisions: the Id, the Super Ego, and the Ego. The Id is best thought of as a newborn child driven by instinctive drives and impulses and seeks instant gratification. The Super Ego is the multiplicative inverse of the Id, representing a father figure and a moral compass. In this experiment, a sample containing two unknown species of bacteria was run through fourteen tests to determine morphology, fermentation properties, reducing and oxidative properties, and other various characteristics of each isolated unknown. It was concluded that the sample contained Lactococcus lactis and Shigella flexneri. Introduction It is fascinating to look around and see how much diversity exists on earth. Perhaps even more interesting is the diversity that exists far beyond the naked eye. Over the past several decades, it has been determined that microorganisms account for the majority of the biomass on earth and new discoveries about these organisms are constantly being made (4).
