Young Goodman Brown Allegory Analysis
An allegory is a type of literature that contains a hidden meaning or message about its characters or
setting. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, allegory is abundantly utilized throughout
the story in the form of characters such as Goodman Brown, representing the universal man of Salem;
Faith, his wife, also representing his religious faith; and Goody Cloyse as a high ranking religious
figure that is secretly hiding an ominous side. Through the allegory, Hawthorne expresses the idea that
the loss of purity and innocence is inevitable.
Young Goodman Brown was cleverly given his name by Hawthorne to refer to the everyday Christian
man living in Salem during the Colonial time period. The first name Goodman literally describes a
good man of Christian faith while Brown represents a common American last name, hence creating a
universal character. Allegory is woven throughout the story, including when Goodman Brown finds
his beloved wife, Faith, practicing rituals with a cult that he encounters in the forest. When Goodman
Brown initially believes he hears Faith s voice in the forest, he investigates only to find her pink hair
ribbons hanging from a branch. At this, Goodman Brown cries, My Faith is gone... There is no good
on earth; and sin is but a name. Come, devil; for to thee is this world given (Hawthorne 1038). In this
cry for help, Goodman Brown expresses both the loss of allegiance to his wife and the loss of his
religious faith in God and the Christian

Vizio Case Summary
Product
Vizio uses unprecedented technologies to ensure that their products are of the highest quality
available. This approach has helped the company prosper and grow to great levels in the entertainment
industry. Vizio now offers everything from multiple types of televisions (LCD, LED, 3 D) to home
theatre products, tablets, and wireless routers. While their main product remains to be their televisions,
the variety of products that they now offer are rapidly becoming popular amongst consumers in North
America. Although Vizio s newer products are a huge success, we believe that for now Vizio s
televisions would be the best product to offer in the Australian market.

Their standard products have already outperformed the competitors in the North American market and
we therefore are confident that offering the unaltered products in the similar Australian market will
produce the same results.
Price
Price is a factor that holds a large portion of Vizio s executive s visions for the company. They are
strong believers in offering the greatest entertainment for a very affordable price. This is what creates
the advantage they posses over competitors. There is a strategically effective approach the company
takes in order to offer these products in the price range in which they do. The televisions themselves
are designed in America, but manufactured in Taiwan by Amtrans Technology Ltd. They are then
imported to America by Amtrans. Amtrans is widely known as being the best quality producer of
HDTV s and is the second largest producer of flat panel televisions. As for the screens on the
televisions, Vizio s LCD screens are made by LG and their plasma s are made by Panasonic. This
ensures that all of their televisions offer the same, if not better quality, than Vizio s competitors. Using
such a large manufacturer such as Amtrans also allows Vizio to import and sell their products for
cheaper than other companies. Therefore, we believe using this process will allow Vizio to import
their televisions to Australia for around the same cost as those companies that they will be competing

Essay About Music
The hole in the wall was teeming with teenagers and young adults, drenched in rain, and crowded
outside of Brooklyn s sealed off Baby s All Right . It was a rainy Saturday night and as soon as I
arrived at the address I knew I was at the right place. Baby s All Right is Williamsburg s venue for
underground and indie music, which also serves as a bar and restaurant; its stage and floor are situated
at the back. I joined the crowd and waited patiently in the downpour and just as the rain started to pour
even harder, they finally began to check tickets and let people funnel to the back. As I stepped in, a
wall of colorful lights behind the turntable greeted me. The lighting was an alluring, multicolored
silhouette of the objects on stage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oliver hung out with two groups in high school, the nerds and the popular kids . With his nerdier
group, he would play video games and talk about superheroes and wrestlers. With his popular group,
he frequented parties and concerts. He describes himself as caught in the middle of two worlds . But,
the constant between these two worlds was his interest in punk rock, especially Green Day. His love of
bands such as Green Day and The Ramones, along with his parents musical influence, motivated his
decision to learn how to play the guitar. This launched his interest of becoming a musician.
Oliver enjoyed the guitar, but he also took a liking to the way hip hop beats sounded. Because of this
interest he started off making beats and rapping over a few of them, uploading these to his old
Soundcloud account. But, due to his insecurities, he ended up deleting most of his old work. His main
source of income at the time was from his work as a janitor, while his side job was as a guitarist for a
small time band. His time as a janitor was completely miserable. On top of that, he never truly enjoyed
being a guitarist, as he felt that his band mates weren t inspired to achieve anything greater than
making music solely as a hobby. Therefore, he decided to make a new Soundcloud where he would
frequently post beats, though he only rapped over a select few. Over time, he saw that his tracks on
Soundcloud were beginning to

Greek Math Research Paper
Egyptian mathematics began as early as 6000 B.C. One thing the Egyptians are known for is taking
measurements with their body parts. For example, a cubit was the length from elbow to fingertips and
they often used the palm of their hand to measure land and buildings in early Egyptian times. They
also used their hands to develop a decimal numeric system based on our ten fingers. This was thought
to be the earliest developed base ten number system as early as 2700 B.C. The Egyptians used
hieroglyphic symbols to demonstrate their numbers. For example, a vertical line represented a unit, a
heel bone represented ten, a coil of rope represented hundreds, and so forth up to powers of a million.
However, they did not have a concept of place value, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Greek mathematics was also much more sophisticated than mathematics that had been developed by
other cultures whereas they show the use of deductive reasoning to derive conclusions from
definitions and axioms and proved them. Greek mathematics refers to the time between 600 B.C to
529 A.D. Most of the mathematical work done by the Greeks was geometry. It is said to have started
with Thales, a famous Greek mathematician, who was the first person to lay down the abstract
development of geometry. He established what is known as Thales Theorem. Thales used geometry to
calculate the height of pyramids and find the distance from ships to shore. However, some say that
Pythagoras deserves the true title for the birth of Greek mathematics. He is believed to have coined the
term mathematics, which is where the study of mathematics began. He established a school and was
also credited with the first proof of the Pythagorean theorem, but as we know, he remains a
controversial figure. Those these two were the start to Greek mathematics, it is obvious that it was in
no way limited to just these two men. Many more mathematical figures introduced new ways of
thinking as we will soon

When an injury occurs to bones, muscles, ligaments or even cartilages, it often requires proper casting
and bracing with or without surgery for full rehabilitation and healing of the damaged area. A number
of different devices are available today to ensure that each body part receives the correct support, so it
can soon return to normal functioning. The casting or bracing method that is effective for you will
depend upon how severe the injury is and where it is in your body.
What Casting or Bracing Accomplishes With Injuries
The appropriate braces or casts will immobilise the injury fully or partially to allow the muscles,
bones, cartilages, tendons or ligaments to heal sufficient to regain normal functioning. At times, these
orthotic devices also offer additional support to the area of a body that has been weakened by the

The Canadian Constitution And The Minimum Wage
INTRODUCTION
The Canadian Constitution is the base for every subject that affect Canadian citizens, permanent
residents and temporary residents as well directly. The Canadian Constitution outlines many topics
including how the government should deal with people in the country and the way that people must
deal with the government. As any other constitution, being a part of the country requires rights and
duties, which the Constitution disposes in its content. It wouldn t be different for the minimum wage.
The Canadian Constitution sets how this matter will be treated and specify that each province should
has its own responsibility for enacts the minimum wage subjects.
Minimum Wage can be a subject of high level of discussions since it affects lots of people and there
are multiple factors that affect how the minimum wage is implemented, measured, and fair. From a
basic perspective, the factors that are included in minimum wage are not well defined as critical
factors, but employability and poorness are some of the main factors that are assessed when the
government of each province decide to increase the minimum wage of the province. During all the
history of minimum wages a bunch of studies were made to analyse the effects that the minimum
wage changes can bring to employee s life. In the oldest studies, the institutions that worked on it
couldn t find a significant change on the employees, job searches and employee s behaviours. The
only fact that was noticed was the

Impact Of The Construction Industry On The Uk Economy
Sector introduction:
Balfour Beatty Plc operates in the heavy construction sub sector of the FTSE 250. This sector is
particularly interesting given the effect recession has had on this sector and the ongoing developments
in the industry. The construction sector in the UK is unique as the output in this sector fell faster than
the whole economy in 2008. It has slipped into recession 3 times over the past 5 years (gov.uk, 2013).
Overall the recession has had a dramatic effect in the construction contracting industry. In recent years
the sector has been plagued with low customer confidence, high unemployment and limited
availability of finance. However now that the UK economy is recovering so is the construction sector,
in August 2014 the sector grew at the fastest pace for seven months since the recession (bbc.co.uk
2014).
Government Initiatives:
Various recent measures have been undertaken by the government which are contributing to the
success of the sector. In 2011 a Localism act was introduced simplifying the planning system which in
turn incentivized growth. A growth and infrastructure act was also implemented which delivered a
further boost to the industry. The government also plans to increase its capital spending plans by £3
billion per annum from 2015 16, meaning an additional investment of £18 billion by 2020 (gov.uk
2013). These schemes have proven successful since their implementation, planning application
approval rates are at a ten year high. Another

Epistemological and Management Research Problem
In what ways does the choice of an epistemological perspective or stance influence the formulation of
a management research problem?
Epistemology is all about knowledge. It is defined by Bonjour (2002) as the philosophical study of
knowledge; its nature, its requirements and its limitations . Knowledge is about what you know. How
you know what you know is dependent on your perceptions, your views, your reasoning and the
reality of it. The first time I came across the question what is knowledge? it virtually looks like a
simple question that I could easily provide an answer to but in the real sense of it, I realized I was
dealing with a complex question which requires a difficult answer. Knowledge is vast but the reality of
it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All these fall under different categories of; Intuitive knowledge, Authoritarian knowledge, Logical
knowledge and Empirical knowledge as identified by epistemologists (Tee, 2004). The source of
knowledge is very important because if there is any form of skepticism about the validity of the
product of knowledge, one may take to the origin or source of the knowledge. This does not mean that
certain sources of knowledge are unreliable. In fact, a single study or research work can employ the
use of all the sources of knowledge but this depends on the researcher. Therefore, for a management
research problem to be formulated, the chosen epistemological perspective has a great part to play
because the identification of the problem and the definition of the problem have to be linked to the
knowledge expected to yield them. As illustrated by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012), of all the
various features of a project or a research work, epistemology is one of those that are progressively
less visible but provides alongside with ontology and methodology the decisions and assumptions that
the method and techniques of the projects depend on.
Epistemology presents two approaches to a research problem. The first is the positivism approach
which as explained by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012) carries the assumption that there is a
reality which exists independently of the

Synthesis Essay On Gold
Once the gold ore is no longer able to be mined economically, all of the salvageable equipment is
removed and the reclamation process begins. The goal of reclamation is to return the mine site to its
pre mining state while minimizing erosion, and protecting the public and surrounding wildlife. Portals
that lead to the underground workings are sealed, but should have ports to monitor if there is a buildup
of toxic gases or water. Reclaiming the surface area where the mine office, bathhouse, and processing
facilities were located starts with demolition of the buildings and removal of equipment and materials.
A special requirement for reclaiming gold processing plants is to rinse and neutralize any residual

Paper money in the United States and other countries used to be backed by gold which became known
as the gold standard . This meant that a person could trade paper money for its equivalent value in
gold bars. Eventually it became too difficult to maintain this standard so it is not currently used by any
country. One of the most well known uses for gold is in jewelry which makes up about 78 percent of
gold consumption. Gold is desirable for jewelry manufacturers because of its luster, resistance to
tarnish, and ability to be shaped easily. However, pure (24 karat) gold is too soft to withstand the stress
put on most jewelry, so it is often made into an alloy with silver or copper to make it harder. Another
use of gold is in electronics and computers due to its high conductivity. Connectors, soldered joints,
and connecting strips have low voltages running through them that are easily interrupted by corrosion,
which is why gold s resistance to tarnish makes it perfect for these applications. In the medical
industry, gold alloys are used for crowns, fillings, and other orthodontic appliances because it is
chemically inert and non allergenic. Also, radioactive gold isotopes can serve as a radiation source
when treating certain cancers. Interestingly, small amounts of gold can be injected into the eyelids of a
person that suffers from lagophthalmos, which is the inability to completely close their eyes (King,

Pickens Plan
Over the past century, the United States has created an enormous vehicle transportation infrastructure
solely based on one energy source, which is oil. Successful implementation of the Pickens Plan must
involve two major shifts when it comes to the U.S. energy consumption: replacing natural gas with
wind power as a significant source of electricity generation and replacing oil with natural gas as far as
transportation is concerned. If T. Boone Pickens Plan were to be successfully implemented, the global
price of oil would decrease because the plan itself would significantly decrease the demand for oil.
Therefore, when the demand drops, the price will go down as well. Pickens plan would reduce
demand for oil in two different ways. First, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a tariff on oil comes an incentive for people to reduce their use of oil and it makes the U.S. much
more independent. The domestic oil industry, would highly support this because it protects our home
country s producers from the competition of cheap OPEC oil imports. Producers of renewable energy
sources would support the tariff because a high oil price makes alternatives to oil more attractive.
Particularly, it offers a powerful reason to bring manufacturing back to North America. As shown on
the graphs that I have constructed, a tariff though it may result in some dead weight losses, it
nonetheless provides the incentive to reduce oil consumption and spending in this country and it also
provides tax revenue. When it comes to the positive externality graph based on the emphasis the
Pickens Plan places on natural gas in America, one can see the benefits the plan provides for the U.S,
economy as a whole. Yes, one can make the argument that there is simply no demand for such a
change at all whatsoever, however, assuming there were subsidies implemented for the Pickens Plan,
we see demand shift to the right, thus conveying that there will be demand if a good incentive is
provided to the U.S. consumers. It would be plausible for the U.S. to cut off spending billions of
dollars to foreign countries and spend its money and focus to move vehicles away from oil, and rely
on renewable energies such as solar, wind, biofuels, which would in effect, create jobs here in the
United States. This would be a better alternative than having the United States spend huge amounts of
money for oil

Pepsi Cola As A Carbonated Soft Drink Essay
Introduction
History has shown us that America was built on the back of positive rivalries (StreetAuthority, 2014).
Competition increases the growth of industries through regular innovation but they also use other
tricks to get an upper hand on each other, for example: Microsoft and Apple, Ford and General
Motors, or PepsiCo (NYSE: PEP) and Coco Cola (NYSE: KO) (StreetAuthority, 2014).
Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink produced and manufactured by PepsiCo (NYSE: PEP). PepsiCo Inc.
was established by the merging of Pepsi Cola and Frito Lay. Its World Headquarters is located at

snacks, food and beverages with sales/revenue of more than 66.42 billion and having employees over
274,000 by the end of year 2013 (Forbes, PepsiCo , 2014). In 1890, Mr Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist
and drugstore owner invented a new drink called Pepsi Cola derived from two major ingredients,
Pepsin and Kola nuts. Pepsi Cola became so popular that customer named it as Brad s Drink (Pepsico,
n.d.).
Coca Cola was started in 1886 by Dr John S. Pemberton, a pharmacist in Atlanta. Coca Cola sales was

Even in His Rise to Power, Wang Lung Respected and Loved...
In traditional Chinese culture, there has always been a strong connection with the earth. The earth
gives life and helps to sustain it, and in the end the earth is where you return. For Wang Lung, this was
a concept easily grasped. He loved the land, and even in his rise to power, his connection to it
remained. When he was most at peace, he was working the land. The times he grew restless were
those when he was unable to farm. Often with the gain of monetary wealth, the decline of morality
follows closely behind. This is magnified in the lives of Wang Lung s three sons. The eldest son
becomes obsessed with women and is eager to satisfy the desires of the flesh. For the rich, this is a
common thing. Once you tire of the beautiful maid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Has it ever been more true that money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10)? And it is odd that in a
culture with such a strong sense of duty and honor for their ancestors that as their father was dying
they were planning on how to divide up and sell the land; the land that had given them so much, and
the same that had put them through school and fed and clothed them and was the only thing to remain
when they had nothing else? This was something Wang Lung could not communicate with his sons.
They seemed to think that their wealth would go far beyond the ground from which it came. Maybe
they could not remember the months they spent in the hut, or when they had no choice but to eat gruel
made from the soil. They did not know how fleeting wealth was as their father had learned earlier in
life. Wang Lung himself was not exempt from these same sins as seen in his sons, however.
Throughout his life he had two constant forces working within him, not unlike the traditional concept
of yin and yang. Yin and yang is believed to be in everything and is the essence of all naturally
occurring things. They are opposite but cannot exist without each other, so the struggle is to find the
perfect balance. Like with Wang Lung, when he only has the land and his earthen house but no wealth
or the misfortune of a drought, he suffers. He cannot feed his family and cannot live. But when there

Validity In Qualitative Research
Validity is related to the meaningfulness of the key components of the research. When the researcher
seeks to measure behaviour, they are concerned with ensuring they are measuring what they actually
intend to measure. Although questions related to validity cannot be answered with complete certainty,
the researcher can develop a strong case for the validity of their data. One of the most commonly used
measures of validity is internal validity, which questions whether there is a relationship, and if there is
one, whether it is causal or not. Internal validity justifies itself; however, there are a number of threats
to the internal validity of a research design such as history, maturation, testing, selection,
instrumentation, mortality, compensatory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, with the rising trends of knowledge synthesis, meta ethnography and meta narrative, the
evaluation of generalisability is becoming more important(Leung, 2015). A pragmatic approach to
examining generalisability in qualitative studies is to adopt the same criteria for validity, which is the
use of a systematic sampling technique, adequate auditing and documentation, triangulation and multi
dimensional theory. Some scholars also support the approach of analytical generalisation, wherein one
assesses the extent to which the findings of one study can be generalised to another with proximal
similarity and similar theoretical models (Leung, 2015). Under a proximal similar model, the
generalisability of one study in respect of another is assessed on the basis of similarities in place, time,
people and other social contexts. Nevertheless, this raises questions on the suitability of meta
synthesis in respect of the basic principles of grounded theory, ethnography and phenomenology. In
this regard, it can be thus identified that any valid meta synthesis must ensure two key objectives, the
development of a theory and a higher level of abstraction, to ensure generalisability in the qualitative
research

system that would supposedly treat everyone equally.
What Is a Flat Tax
The Armey Shelby flat tax plan, the Freedom and Fairness Restoration Act, scraps the entire tax code
and replaces it with a flat rate income tax that treats every taxpayer equally. The plan would clarify the
tax code, promote job and income growth, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax system (The
Doctor). The new system would be based on three principals.
1. Tax all income with no deductions except a generous allowance based on family size. Today s
complex system could be replaced by two simple, postcard size forms, one for business and one for
individuals. 2. Tax all income at one rate, applying the law equally to all taxpayers. Everyone faces the
same 17 percent rate, and the government would not punish or subsidize taxpayers on the basis of how
they earn or spend income. 3. Tax all income just once, ending the bias against savings and
investment. Capital income would be taxed on the business form to ensure compliance, and labor
income would be taxed on the individual form (Beach, Mitchell).
The Armey Shelby flat tax proposition follows each of these principles. For individuals, only the
income from wages, salaries, and pensions are taxed, then generous personal and dependent
exemptions are deducted. What is left after these deductions is

Bridal Table Essay
Your Aunt Carole and Uncle Earl have been feuding since the 80s, your last single girlfriend is
hypersensitive to being seated at the wrong table, and you have one couple coming from out of the
country who only know you. Or perhaps your parents are divorced. How can you please everyone?
Seating dilemmas have cost brides and grooms many sleepless nights before the big day. You want
every guest to feel special, but if you have to rearrange that seating chart one more time, you re going
to lose it. What to do? With a little tact, diplomacy and common sense (along with those deep
breathing exercises you learned in yoga), you can create a seating plan that will make almost everyone
happy.

Speak to your caterer or wedding coordinator to determine this. If not, you might simply designate the
bridal table with place cards, and allow the other guests to seat themselves. Some couples opt to have
a cocktail party or buffet with a few tables, in hopes that guests will alternate sitting and eating. If this
is what you plan to do, make sure that your elderly guests have a place to sit down, possibly even by
designating a separate table for them.
Who Sits Where?
The Bridal Table. The bride and groom may sit at a long rectangular head table or round table at the
focal point of the room, or alternatively, at their very own sweetheart table. Some couples choose to
have no table at all, but to leave a few seats empty at every table so they can mingle throughout the
reception. No matter which configuration you choose, the bridal table is usually set apart from the
others by some type of decoration, such as flowers. Classically, the groom sits to the bride s right and
the best man sits to her left. The maid of honor sits to the groom s right. Depending on how large the
table is, the other attendants should be scattered around. In the old days, spouses and significant others
were relegated to different tables, but let s think about that for a minute... It seems rather unfair to
separate couples during an entire wedding dinner and dance, so be sensitive. If you can only fit the
best man and maid of honor along with their significant

They have all the rights that American citizens should have. Giving someone here illegally a driver`s

However, the issue supporters agree that California should allow undocumented immigrants to be

should be able to drive to work or take their children to school without fear of having their vehicles
confiscated if they are stopped by police. A lot of undocumented immigrants have lived in California
for years. Their kids were born in America. They need a job to make a living, feed their family, and
educate their kids. In America, no matter where you go, you need a car, so you have to drive every
day. Many undocumented immigrants drive now, but without licenses, insurance or state testing to
ensure competence. Therefore, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck told Los Angeles Times on last
Wednesday that he is in favor of granting driver`s licenses to illegal immigrants. If this issue passes,
all the illegal immigrants will need to get their driver`s licenses, buy their own cars, buy car insurance

Wending Creek Case Study
As the company expanded, so did the family s extravagant lifestyle. But, unbeknownst to investors
and regulators, Adelphia was paying for most of it (Beebe Michel, 2002). John built the family home
on a large plot of land he named Wending Creek. Although it was considered a commerical farm,
Wending Creek s primary source of income was the $2 million a year it received for performing
general maintenance and landscaping for Adelphia offices (Beebe Michel, 2002). The company also
paid $26 million for the 3,600 acres adjacent to the farm to preserve the view for the Rigas family
(Associated Press, 2004). When the Rigases purchased the Buffalo Sabres, they made a point to
publicly state that the family would own the hockey team, not the company. However, Adelphia was
holding $150 million in loans on the team (Beebe Michel, 2002). When John wanted to gift local
residents with tickets to the games, Adelphia paid the family $744,000 for entertainment expenses
including luxury box rentals (Burke et al., 2002). Wife Doris had a flair for interior design and ran the
family owned company Eleni Interiors. In 2001, Adelphia paid Eleni over $12 million for office
furnishing and paid Doris herself $371,000 for design services (Beebe Michel, 2002). When son

just three feet tall, 4.5 feet long, and weighing just 70 80 pounds yet it is considered a relatively large
mammal. It has long legs, a long flat back, and a long, narrow head. All white tailed deer are known to
be excellent runners, jumpers, and even swimmers. Males, called bucks, have curved, branched antlers
that are shed each year. They use these antlers to attract mates, mark their territory and sometimes to
fight or defend their territory against other males. About six months after mating, the female deer,
called a doe, will have 1 3 offspring known as fawns. The fawns are reddish brown at birth, and are

Difficulties In The Election Of 1828
In 1828 the election rematch between then President John Quincy Adams placed him against
Democratic frontrunner Andrew Jackson. Factions appeared in the long dominant Democratic
Republican Party; the National Republican Party and the Republicans in which they both struggled for
control. The bitterness and divisiveness of the two factions showed a glimmer of what was to become
in the years before 1861.
In the South, states like Georgia had difficulties with the Cherokee Nation. These difficulties were not
due to tribal violence but rather with the Cherokee occupation of the Northwest Georgia. The
Cherokees flourished under the Civilization Program began by President George Washington after
signing multiple treaties with the Federal government since 1785. By the time of the election of 1828,
the Cherokee Nation had their own constitution, a written language, and capital at New Echota. Some

Can Mindfulness Interventions Help People Who Suffer From...
Can mindfulness interventions help people who suffer from chronic musculoskeletal pain?
Matthew Rodda
A literature review
Summary
Sadly, for some patients chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMP) can feel like a life sentence. All to often
in clinical settings we see patients who psychologically combine chronic pain with resistance, the
outcome often being suffering, this suffering, however, is a choice. Whilst there are behavioural and
psychological components involved, recent research has looked into various patient led forms of self
help or management of pain, one such method being mindfulness. Although limited, the current
evidence in this field suggests that there is a place for such interventions for the acceptance or
management of pain in chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Further research may wish to look at the
quality of research into this area including a superior level of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) to
test pain acceptance specific mindfulness interventions in matched subjects.

In Revelation 3, Jesus criticizes the church of Laodicea for its lukewarm approach to the Christian
lifestyle, wishing that His people were either cold or hot (15) and threatening that He would spit the
lukewarm out of [His] mouth (17). What does it mean to be lukewarm, per say? In the context of
Christianity, a lukewarm church is one that, although they claim to be in communion with Christ,
simultaneously indicate through their pursuit of wealth, prestige, and power that they reject the notion
of denying themselves, taking up the cross of Christ, and following Him (Mark 8:34). This decision of
committing oneself to Christ involves much more than simply believing in Him; rather, it involves a

The Pitcher s Role In Softball
When you ask the average person what the most important position in softball is, the answer will
usually be along the lines of the pitcher or shortstop. While these positions are critical to the game, the
true unsung hero is the catcher. The catcher has one of the most physically demanding and high risk
jobs on the field. Furthermore, the catcher must possess an intimate and thorough understanding of not
only the game of softball but a deep connection with their pitcher as well as their entire team.
The relationship between pitcher and catcher has an impact on the entire game. The catcher will signal
to the pitcher not only what pitch to throw, but if one of the runners is squirrely on base or if the batter
is getting ready to bunt. The catcher needs to analyze the batter, the other ... Show more content on

These responsibilities include fielding pop flies in awkward corners, responding quickly to a bunt, and
not letting any ball past them. Failure of the catcher to adequately respond in these situations can have
critical impacts on the game. If the catcher is trying to tag out a player at home plate but misses the
throw, the opposing team has an easy score.
Bunting can be an effective offensive strategy, often leading to the offensive team gaining bases. The
catcher is responsible for identifying a potential bunt in advance and being prepared when it happens.
The catcher has a clear view of the batters hands on the bat, making an anticipated bunt easy to spot. If
the catcher notices the hand positioning shift to a bunt, they can alert their team to the offensive play.
A catcher also has the potentially dangerous job of guarding the plate. Tagging the runner out at home
plate is the last line of defense for the defending team, making the catcher s ability paramount. This
job can be physically daunting, as it sometimes calls for the catcher to collide with the oncoming
runner in an attempt to tag them

Nuclear Physics Of The Society Development
Nuclear physics in the society development
Nuclear physics is the field of physics that studies atomic nuclei and their constituents and
interactions. The most commonly known application of nuclear physics is nuclear power generation,
but the research has led to applications in many fields, including nuclear medicine and magnetic
resonance imaging, nuclear weapons, ion implantation in materials engineering, and radiocarbon
dating in geology and archaeology. Nuclear physics has a lot of importance in general society
development. Ernest Rutherford (1871 1937): Known as the father of nuclear physics, the New
Zealand born scientist was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908 for his investigations into
the disintegration of the elements, and the chemistry of radioactive substances . Nuclear Physics as we
know it today is almost a hundred years old. In 2009, we celebrate the centenary of the publication of
the results of the Geiger Marsden (or gold foil) experiment performed at the University of Manchester.
Nuclear Physics positively influences our daily lives. There are many benefits to nuclear physics,
these benefits take many forms. When done properly it can encourage interest, develop support for the

Marketing Is The Success Of A Business
(Mindtools.com, 2015) Putting the right product in the right place, at the right price, at the right time .
It s quite straightforward, you simply need to make an item that a specific group of individuals need,
put it or sell it somewhere where those same individuals visit consistently, and value it at a level which
coordinates the quality they understand they get of it; and do all at a time they will all want to
purchase it. At that point you have it made!
(Toolkit.smallbiz.nsw.gov.au, 2015)Marketing is integral to the success of a business, large or small,
with its primary focus on quality, consumer value and customer satisfaction.
There s a great deal of truth in this thought. In any case, a great deal of diligent work needs to go into
figuring out what clients need, and recognizing where they do their shopping. At that point you have
to make sense of how to deliver the product at a value that speaks to esteem to them, and get it all to
meet up at the basic time.
In any case, on the off chance that you get only one component wrong, it can spell catastrophe. You
could be left selling a car with great fuel efficiency in a nation where fuel is extremely cheap; or
distributed a textbook after the beginning of the new school year, or offering a product at a value that
is too high or too low to pull in the target audience.
The marketing mix is a desirable place to begin when you are thoroughly considering creating a new
product or service, and it offers you some

The Plight Of Low Income Individuals And Their Families
Saul Alvarez English 101 The Plight of Low Income Individuals and Their Families According to the
PRB article U.S. Low Income Working Families Increasing , 42.7% of people live below the poverty
line, with 32.1% of them living 200% below the poverty line; this group is categorized as the low
income group.(PRB) 59% of low income working families have one or more minority parents. Living
in a low income community limits one s standard of living through academic gaps, the selection of
food available, an ever present fear of victimization , and a lack of resources available to both children
and adults. The differences in academic gaps between children and teenagers from low income
neighborhoods and affluent neighborhoods present themselves in the schools the students attend. A
study by the Department of Education showed that students in low income areas did not have access to
the same rigorous courses, and when they did, the resources available to the low income students was
lacking compared to the resources the students in high income neighborhoods had access to. In the
low income areas black and Hispanic students were twice as likely to have teachers with less
experience, with one or two years in the profession, compared to schools in affluent neighborhoods
with well to do white students. Another thing increasing the academic gap is that only 22 percent of
local districts reported offering pre kindergarten or other early learning programs for low income
children.

  • 2. Young Goodman Brown Allegory Analysis An allegory is a type of literature that contains a hidden meaning or message about its characters or setting. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, allegory is abundantly utilized throughout the story in the form of characters such as Goodman Brown, representing the universal man of Salem; Faith, his wife, also representing his religious faith; and Goody Cloyse as a high ranking religious figure that is secretly hiding an ominous side. Through the allegory, Hawthorne expresses the idea that the loss of purity and innocence is inevitable. Young Goodman Brown was cleverly given his name by Hawthorne to refer to the everyday Christian man living in Salem during the Colonial time period. The first name Goodman literally describes a good man of Christian faith while Brown represents a common American last name, hence creating a universal character. Allegory is woven throughout the story, including when Goodman Brown finds his beloved wife, Faith, practicing rituals with a cult that he encounters in the forest. When Goodman Brown initially believes he hears Faith s voice in the forest, he investigates only to find her pink hair ribbons hanging from a branch. At this, Goodman Brown cries, My Faith is gone... There is no good on earth; and sin is but a name. Come, devil; for to thee is this world given (Hawthorne 1038). In this cry for help, Goodman Brown expresses both the loss of allegiance to his wife and the loss of his religious faith in God and the Christian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Vizio Case Summary Product Vizio uses unprecedented technologies to ensure that their products are of the highest quality available. This approach has helped the company prosper and grow to great levels in the entertainment industry. Vizio now offers everything from multiple types of televisions (LCD, LED, 3 D) to home theatre products, tablets, and wireless routers. While their main product remains to be their televisions, the variety of products that they now offer are rapidly becoming popular amongst consumers in North America. Although Vizio s newer products are a huge success, we believe that for now Vizio s televisions would be the best product to offer in the Australian market. When looking at the high demand for television in the Australia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their standard products have already outperformed the competitors in the North American market and we therefore are confident that offering the unaltered products in the similar Australian market will produce the same results. Price Price is a factor that holds a large portion of Vizio s executive s visions for the company. They are strong believers in offering the greatest entertainment for a very affordable price. This is what creates the advantage they posses over competitors. There is a strategically effective approach the company takes in order to offer these products in the price range in which they do. The televisions themselves are designed in America, but manufactured in Taiwan by Amtrans Technology Ltd. They are then imported to America by Amtrans. Amtrans is widely known as being the best quality producer of HDTV s and is the second largest producer of flat panel televisions. As for the screens on the televisions, Vizio s LCD screens are made by LG and their plasma s are made by Panasonic. This ensures that all of their televisions offer the same, if not better quality, than Vizio s competitors. Using such a large manufacturer such as Amtrans also allows Vizio to import and sell their products for cheaper than other companies. Therefore, we believe using this process will allow Vizio to import their televisions to Australia for around the same cost as those companies that they will be competing ... • 4. Essay About Music The hole in the wall was teeming with teenagers and young adults, drenched in rain, and crowded outside of Brooklyn s sealed off Baby s All Right . It was a rainy Saturday night and as soon as I arrived at the address I knew I was at the right place. Baby s All Right is Williamsburg s venue for underground and indie music, which also serves as a bar and restaurant; its stage and floor are situated at the back. I joined the crowd and waited patiently in the downpour and just as the rain started to pour even harder, they finally began to check tickets and let people funnel to the back. As I stepped in, a wall of colorful lights behind the turntable greeted me. The lighting was an alluring, multicolored silhouette of the objects on stage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Oliver hung out with two groups in high school, the nerds and the popular kids . With his nerdier group, he would play video games and talk about superheroes and wrestlers. With his popular group, he frequented parties and concerts. He describes himself as caught in the middle of two worlds . But, the constant between these two worlds was his interest in punk rock, especially Green Day. His love of bands such as Green Day and The Ramones, along with his parents musical influence, motivated his decision to learn how to play the guitar. This launched his interest of becoming a musician. Oliver enjoyed the guitar, but he also took a liking to the way hip hop beats sounded. Because of this interest he started off making beats and rapping over a few of them, uploading these to his old Soundcloud account. But, due to his insecurities, he ended up deleting most of his old work. His main source of income at the time was from his work as a janitor, while his side job was as a guitarist for a small time band. His time as a janitor was completely miserable. On top of that, he never truly enjoyed being a guitarist, as he felt that his band mates weren t inspired to achieve anything greater than making music solely as a hobby. Therefore, he decided to make a new Soundcloud where he would frequently post beats, though he only rapped over a select few. Over time, he saw that his tracks on Soundcloud were beginning to ... • 6. Greek Math Research Paper Egyptian mathematics began as early as 6000 B.C. One thing the Egyptians are known for is taking measurements with their body parts. For example, a cubit was the length from elbow to fingertips and they often used the palm of their hand to measure land and buildings in early Egyptian times. They also used their hands to develop a decimal numeric system based on our ten fingers. This was thought to be the earliest developed base ten number system as early as 2700 B.C. The Egyptians used hieroglyphic symbols to demonstrate their numbers. For example, a vertical line represented a unit, a heel bone represented ten, a coil of rope represented hundreds, and so forth up to powers of a million. However, they did not have a concept of place value, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Greek mathematics was also much more sophisticated than mathematics that had been developed by other cultures whereas they show the use of deductive reasoning to derive conclusions from definitions and axioms and proved them. Greek mathematics refers to the time between 600 B.C to 529 A.D. Most of the mathematical work done by the Greeks was geometry. It is said to have started with Thales, a famous Greek mathematician, who was the first person to lay down the abstract development of geometry. He established what is known as Thales Theorem. Thales used geometry to calculate the height of pyramids and find the distance from ships to shore. However, some say that Pythagoras deserves the true title for the birth of Greek mathematics. • 10. Impact Of The Construction Industry On The Uk Economy Sector introduction: Balfour Beatty Plc operates in the heavy construction sub sector of the FTSE 250. This sector is particularly interesting given the effect recession has had on this sector and the ongoing developments in the industry. The construction sector in the UK is unique as the output in this sector fell faster than the whole economy in 2008. It has slipped into recession 3 times over the past 5 years (gov.uk, 2013). Overall the recession has had a dramatic effect in the construction contracting industry. In recent years the sector has been plagued with low customer confidence, high unemployment and limited availability of finance. However now that the UK economy is recovering so is the construction sector, in August 2014 the sector grew at the fastest pace for seven months since the recession (bbc.co.uk 2014). Government Initiatives: Various recent measures have been undertaken by the government which are contributing to the success of the sector. In 2011 a Localism act was introduced simplifying the planning system which in turn incentivized growth. A growth and infrastructure act was also implemented which delivered a further boost to the industry. The government also plans to increase its capital spending plans by £3 billion per annum from 2015 16, meaning an additional investment of £18 billion by 2020 (gov.uk 2013). • 11. Epistemological and Management Research Problem In what ways does the choice of an epistemological perspective or stance influence the formulation of a management research problem? Epistemology is all about knowledge. It is defined by Bonjour (2002) as the philosophical study of knowledge; its nature, its requirements and its limitations . Knowledge is about what you know. How you know what you know is dependent on your perceptions, your views, your reasoning and the reality of it. The first time I came across the question what is knowledge? it virtually looks like a simple question that I could easily provide an answer to but in the real sense of it, I realized I was dealing with a complex question which requires a difficult answer. Knowledge is vast but the reality of it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All these fall under different categories of; Intuitive knowledge, Authoritarian knowledge, Logical knowledge and Empirical knowledge as identified by epistemologists (Tee, 2004). The source of knowledge is very important because if there is any form of skepticism about the validity of the product of knowledge, one may take to the origin or source of the knowledge. This does not mean that certain sources of knowledge are unreliable. In fact, a single study or research work can employ the use of all the sources of knowledge but this depends on the researcher. Therefore, for a management research problem to be formulated, the chosen epistemological perspective has a great part to play because the identification of the problem and the definition of the problem have to be linked to the knowledge expected to yield them. As illustrated by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012), of all the various features of a project or a research work, epistemology is one of those that are progressively less visible but provides alongside with ontology and methodology the decisions and assumptions that the method and techniques of the projects depend on. Epistemology presents two approaches to a research problem. The first is the positivism approach which as explained by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012) carries the assumption that there is a reality which exists independently of the ... Paper money in the United States and other countries used to be backed by gold which became known as the gold standard . This meant that a person could trade paper money for its equivalent value in gold bars. Eventually it became too difficult to maintain this standard so it is not currently used by any country. One of the most well known uses for gold is in jewelry which makes up about 78 percent of gold consumption. Gold is desirable for jewelry manufacturers because of its luster, resistance to tarnish, and ability to be shaped easily. However, pure (24 karat) gold is too soft to withstand the stress put on most jewelry, so it is often made into an alloy with silver or copper to make it harder. Another use of gold is in electronics and computers due to its high conductivity. Connectors, soldered joints, and connecting strips have low voltages running through them that are easily interrupted by corrosion, which is why gold s resistance to tarnish makes it perfect for these applications. In the medical industry, gold alloys are used for crowns, fillings, and other orthodontic appliances because it is chemically inert and non allergenic. Also, radioactive gold isotopes can serve as a radiation source when treating certain cancers. Successful implementation of the Pickens Plan must involve two major shifts when it comes to the U.S. energy consumption: replacing natural gas with wind power as a significant source of electricity generation and replacing oil with natural gas as far as transportation is concerned. If T. Boone Pickens Plan were to be successfully implemented, the global price of oil would decrease because the plan itself would significantly decrease the demand for oil. With a tariff on oil comes an incentive for people to reduce their use of oil and it makes the U.S. much more independent. The domestic oil industry, would highly support this because it protects our home country s producers from the competition of cheap OPEC oil imports. Producers of renewable energy sources would support the tariff because a high oil price makes alternatives to oil more attractive. Particularly, it offers a powerful reason to bring manufacturing back to North America. As shown on the graphs that I have constructed, a tariff though it may result in some dead weight losses, it nonetheless provides the incentive to reduce oil consumption and spending in this country and it also provides tax revenue. When it comes to the positive externality graph based on the emphasis the Pickens Plan places on natural gas in America, one can see the benefits the plan provides for the U.S, economy as a whole. Yes, one can make the argument that there is simply no demand for such a change at all whatsoever, however, assuming there were subsidies implemented for the Pickens Plan, we see demand shift to the right, thus conveying that there will be demand if a good incentive is provided to the U.S. consumers. It would be plausible for the U.S. to cut off spending billions of dollars to foreign countries and spend its money and focus to move vehicles away from oil, and rely on renewable energies such as solar, wind, biofuels, which would in effect, create jobs here in the United States. He loved the land, and even in his rise to power, his connection to it remained. When he was most at peace, he was working the land. The times he grew restless were those when he was unable to farm. Often with the gain of monetary wealth, the decline of morality follows closely behind. This is magnified in the lives of Wang Lung s three sons. This was something Wang Lung could not communicate with his sons. They seemed to think that their wealth would go far beyond the ground from which it came. Maybe they could not remember the months they spent in the hut, or when they had no choice but to eat gruel made from the soil. They did not know how fleeting wealth was as their father had learned earlier in life. Wang Lung himself was not exempt from these same sins as seen in his sons, however. When the researcher seeks to measure behaviour, they are concerned with ensuring they are measuring what they actually intend to measure. Although questions related to validity cannot be answered with complete certainty, the researcher can develop a strong case for the validity of their data. One of the most commonly used measures of validity is internal validity, which questions whether there is a relationship, and if there is one, whether it is causal or not. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless, with the rising trends of knowledge synthesis, meta ethnography and meta narrative, the evaluation of generalisability is becoming more important(Leung, 2015). A pragmatic approach to examining generalisability in qualitative studies is to adopt the same criteria for validity, which is the use of a systematic sampling technique, adequate auditing and documentation, triangulation and multi dimensional theory. Some scholars also support the approach of analytical generalisation, wherein one assesses the extent to which the findings of one study can be generalised to another with proximal similarity and similar theoretical models (Leung, 2015). Under a proximal similar model, the generalisability of one study in respect of another is assessed on the basis of similarities in place, time, people and other social contexts. Nevertheless, this raises questions on the suitability of meta synthesis in respect of the basic principles of grounded theory, ethnography and phenomenology. In this regard, it can be thus identified that any valid meta synthesis must ensure two key objectives, the development of a theory and a higher level of abstraction, to ensure generalisability in the qualitative research ... What Is a Flat Tax The Armey Shelby flat tax plan, the Freedom and Fairness Restoration Act, scraps the entire tax code and replaces it with a flat rate income tax that treats every taxpayer equally. The plan would clarify the tax code, promote job and income growth, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax system (The Doctor). The new system would be based on three principals. 1. Tax all income with no deductions except a generous allowance based on family size. Today s complex system could be replaced by two simple, postcard size forms, one for business and one for individuals. 2. Tax all income at one rate, applying the law equally to all taxpayers. Factions appeared in the long dominant Democratic Republican Party; the National Republican Party and the Republicans in which they both struggled for control. The bitterness and divisiveness of the two factions showed a glimmer of what was to become in the years before 1861. In the South, states like Georgia had difficulties with the Cherokee Nation. These difficulties were not due to tribal violence but rather with the Cherokee occupation of the Northwest Georgia. The Cherokees flourished under the Civilization Program began by President George Washington after signing multiple treaties with the Federal government since 1785. By the time of the election of 1828, the Cherokee Nation had their own constitution, a written language, and capital at New Echota. Matthew Rodda A literature review Summary Sadly, for some patients chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMP) can feel like a life sentence. • 36. Marketing Is The Success Of A Business (Mindtools.com, 2015) Putting the right product in the right place, at the right price, at the right time . It s quite straightforward, you simply need to make an item that a specific group of individuals need, put it or sell it somewhere where those same individuals visit consistently, and value it at a level which coordinates the quality they understand they get of it; and do all at a time they will all want to purchase it. At that point you have it made! (Toolkit.smallbiz.nsw.gov.au, 2015)Marketing is integral to the success of a business, large or small, with its primary focus on quality, consumer value and customer satisfaction. There s a great deal of truth in this thought. In any case, a great deal of diligent work needs to go into figuring out what clients need, and recognizing where they do their shopping. At that point you have to make sense of how to deliver the product at a value that speaks to esteem to them, and get it all to meet up at the basic time. In any case, on the off chance that you get only one component wrong, it can spell catastrophe. You could be left selling a car with great fuel efficiency in a nation where fuel is extremely cheap; or distributed a textbook after the beginning of the new school year, or offering a product at a value that is too high or too low to pull in the target audience. Living in a low income community limits one s standard of living through academic gaps, the selection of food available, an ever present fear of victimization , and a lack of resources available to both children and adults. The differences in academic gaps between children and teenagers from low income neighborhoods and affluent neighborhoods present themselves in the schools the students attend. A study by the Department of Education showed that students in low income areas did not have access to the same rigorous courses, and when they did, the resources available to the low income students was lacking compared to the resources the students in high income neighborhoods had access to. In the low income areas black and Hispanic students were twice as likely to have teachers with less experience, with one or two years in the profession, compared to schools in affluent neighborhoods with well to do white students. Another thing increasing the academic gap is that only 22 percent of local districts reported offering pre kindergarten or other early learning programs for low income children. ...
