ABSTRACT: In this paper, we are going to study about various tools and technique of image
processing which are now available for the detection or identification of the printing technology. Now
days, the identification in the printing technology and the various problem which are associated with
the document forensics have been a major challenges in the image processing application. There are
many approaches on image processing which are based on HSV, spatial correlation, colour space,
texture. There are also some method for pattern recognition like, roughness of the text, grey level co
occurrence matrix, perimeter of edge is being highlighted. In this paper, we have focused more on one
of the recent contribution which is, Gaussian Variogram Model (GVM) for the classification of the
paper.
Index Terms Technique classification, document forensics printing, spatial statics, image processing.

Stories of People before Us
It was many years ago, long before your beloved parents or even their own. It was far past the time
when skyscrapers first began their grazing of the heavens, past even the taking advantage of devote
teachers. Further still, our story takes us. Much like many tales of this sort there is perhaps little truth
weaved in all that serve not as references for literal information but references for wisdom and
understanding. I do not profess that readers who study these tomes will come out any the wiser, nor is
it this tome s sole purpose. Some things in life do not require purpose nor plan, but moving forward.
Before our world, there was perhaps another. In it lived a single person, a woman perhaps, who ruled
over all the animals and plants. She, like most others, did not enjoy her solitude and decided to design
a people to accompany her. So thus, people came to be. Despite the people, she had no joy. Those she
had created were savage, greedy, and sinful. It displeased her. However, she was merciful and could
not bring herself to destroy them, so instead felt it necessary to guide them. To assist her she created a
new type of people, one who would embody all that she valued. These people would be rulers and
would rule over the other citizens. To form her new rulers she took four traits, agápē (unconditional
love), compassion, generosity, trustworthiness, and composed one whom she would entrust with her
people. Carefully she layered a combination of agápē trustworthiness

Summary Of The Heights By Lin Manuel Miranda
Lin Manuel Miranda won his first Tony Award in 2008 for Best Original Score for his work on In the
Heights, a musical with it s foundation of music being rap and salsa. Lin Manuel Miranda s In the
Heights carefully infuses his latin and hip hop/rap roots into the lyrics and music to create one of the
first hip hop musicals that thoroughly tells a story. In the Heights jumps into three days in the life of
the New York City latino neighborhood, Washington Heights and focuses on the dreams and
aspirations for latino immigrants. It focuses specifically the story of the two main characters: Usnavi
de la Vega and Nina Rosario. Nina is the one who made it out and went to college but is now back in
Washington Heights after dropping out of Stanford University due to losing her scholarship. Nina also
runs into one of her parent s employees, Benny, and begins rekindling their love. Usnavi is the owner
of the local bodega and dreams of flying back to the Dominican Republic, where his parents are from.
Usnavi is in love with Vanessa, a worker at the salon next door, but is too awkward and intimidated to
say anything. In the Heights was the first full length show that Lin Manuel Miranda wrote. It was
written his sophomore year of college at Wesleyan College in 1999. At this time, the latin pop boom
was just occurring with artists like Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez were becoming
popular and featured on the radio. We had this shared dual culture of American culture and

Outline Scientific Theory
Between all of the factors that outline the scientific studies such the theories, hypothesis and even law
but what differences and similarities do they share? A scientific theory is usually said to be a well
tested concept that explains an endless supply of observations. For example we obviously know that
the Earth revolves around the sun and has been tested through observation and experiment which
clearly cant come up with another explanation to contradict this theory. On the other end of the
spectrum we have scientific hypothesis which is commonly seen as a possible explanation for a set of
observations or answer to a scientific question must be testable. A great example that can be used is if
you were to test smokers and observing which

Tourette s Syndrome Essay
Tourette s Syndrome Gilles de la Tourette s Syndrome (TS) is a sporadic or inherited complex
neuropsychiatric disorder (not an illness) influenced by neurological, psychological, and sociological
factors. It is characterized by involuntary tics sudden, rapid, recurrent nonrhythmic movements or
noises that occur repeatedly in the same way (Temple, 2003). The symptoms include: both multiple
motor tics and one or more phonic tics (which may or may not include vocalizations and which
sometimes include outbursts of swearing) present at some time during the disorder although not
necessarily simultaneously; tics occur many times a day (usually in bouts) nearly every day or ...

However, as Nass and Bressman (2002) state, the relationships between both ADHD and TS and OCD
and TS are complex and not yet clear. In addition to this, until now linkage analysis has pointed to a
number of chromosomal locations, but has failed to identify a clear candidate gene(s).
Treating TS
Treating TS has been a controversial issue among scientist for years. The kind of medication that
should be prescribed to people with TS is currently under debate mainly because TS is frequently
accompanied along with other disorders such as OCD or ADHD. Due to that there is no one
medication that is absolutely beneficial for all persons with TS. Moreover, none of the available
medications for TS completely eliminates symptoms and in addition, all medications have side effects.
Instead, the available TS medications are only able to help reduce specific symptoms. Some patients
who require medication to reduce the frequency and intensity of the tic symptoms may be treated with
neuroleptic drugs such as haloperidol and pimozide (Abuzzahab Brown, 2001). These medications are
usually given in very small doses that are increased slowly until the best possible balance between
symptoms and side effects is achieved. Recently scientists have discovered that long term use of
neuroleptic drugs may cause an involuntary movement

3.4.1.2. Self healing smart grid Self healing is a specialty of smart grid who makes smart grid as
smarter grid. This function shows the future scope of the smart grid and SCADA system. We can say
that it is an immune system of SCADA system. It is main feature of smart grid but it is also has some
disadvantages. First, one is uninterrupted power supply. This is real time monitoring function and it is
programmed for timely detection means it takes data and transmit data at particular time span so if the
power supply will be interrupt that s mean it could not take and send data on time. In addition, could

Rocky Horror Picture Show Imagery
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a musical that takes place in the early 70 s, where Brad Majors and
Janet Weiss are on their way to visit an old professor Dr. Everett V. Scott. On their way, there they
experience some mechanical issues. This causes the two of them to wonder back to a castle they saw
in order to get some assistance. Little did they know they would be getting all the help they needed.
They didn t know there was a celebration happening at the Frank N Furter place. When they arrived,
they were surprised with what was going on for it was abnormal to them. In this analytical Essay I,
will be explaining the hidden imagery behind things in the motion picture. Throughout this film the
use imagery to show how gender roles come into play. In the beginning of the movie they are at the
end of a wedding. Everyone is outside and watching the bride and groom as they are about to leave.

This film is about acceptance, which is why I think it had a lot to do with the perks of being a
wallflower. In the end of the movie all of the characters find out who they really are I feel like that is
something that happens in both stories. In the Perks of Being a Wallflower they find themselves then
part their separate ways. Sam and Patrick go to college leaving Charlie behind. In the rocky horror
picture show Frank and his friends help Brad and Janet find themselves then they return to

Tijuana s River Watershed Essay
The world s economic issues are like that of a ripple effect, the gravitation of something falling down
into the water brings a cause and effect influence, much like the world, it is affected in both a negative
and positive way from the smallest to largest ripple effects. For example, the contamination and
pollution of the Tijuana s river watershed has become an on growing problem for years now. The
Tijuana s river watershed not only does it cross a political boundary/border to the San Diego beaches
but it also drastically affects the neighboring communities in the area of Baja California. The Tijuana s

Rough Draft Of A Personal Narrative Essay
Personal narrative draft When I was 3 years old, just 19 months after my sister was born, we went on a
trip to Florida. We had to wake up at about 3:00 a.m. ,because it takes us an hour to get are luggage in
the truck and to get everyone up and dressed. Our truck was a black Suburban. It took an hour and a
half to get the airport, an hour or two to get our 3 bags of luggage on the plane,to get breakfast,to get
coffee for my Mom, Dad, Nana Pat, and, Papa Daryl. Finally, we got a security check for all of us.
Then,we went to go find our gate where our plane was. Then we finally found our gate. We walked in
through the door that was open and we walked through a long tunnel like thing to get onto our plane.
When we were stepping onto our plane, I could see the path that the plane was on. There s a little
crack. A crack in between the plane and that little ramp thing that you walk on to get into the plane.
Our plane was Delta. After all of that we we re getting on the plane. We found our sets and sat in them
and buckled up we were ready for our flight. Were on a plane I was really excited about the trip, when
we took off it was going down the runway faster and faster then all of a the sudden the plane was
going up off the ground then we were in the sky floating forward. Then the plane was going fast
whenever I looked out the window everything on land and not in the air looked tiny it was an amazing
site from up above. It felt like we were flying with the birds.

Individual Mandate In Healthcare
The individual mandate was established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
(PPACA), and works together with other ACA provisions to create a platform for affordable insurance
for all (especially the poor and sick). The individual mandate requires most individuals to maintain
minimum essential coverage for themselves and their dependents. Minimum essential coverage is
listed in Section 5000A of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) along with its regulations. Comprehensive
coverage is considered to be the minimum essential coverage, which includes public coverage such as
Medicaid and Medicare, and private insurance such as individual insurance, employer sponsored
insurance, and non group insurance. Those individuals who do not comply

Major Toxic Waste Sites in Texas
When thinking about the most polluted states in our country, California and New York instantly pop
into our mind. What most people don t know, however, is that Texas now ranks number one in most
categories of pollution. Whether it be increased emissions from refineries in Beaumont, large pits
filled with contamination at Kelley Air Force Base, or polluted water at Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas has
more than its fair share of toxic waste. Exxon/Mobil, one of the nation s leading oil producers, has its
main refinery located in Beaumont, Texas. Each year, the residents of Beaumont/Port Arthur have to
contend with the 39,000 pounds of pollution spewed each year by the Exxon refinery. Exxon s

Interestingly, Kelly Air Force Base is located near a predominantly Hispanic community, proving once

Lake Sam Rayburn, once known for excellent swimming, water skiing, and fishing, the lake is now
suffering drastically due to unchecked pollution from a paper mill. In recent years, concerns have
arisen over threats to water quality and the health of fish in the lake by increasing development at a
nearby paper mill which discharges pollutants into the watershed. The Donohue Industries paper mill
facility in Angelina County flushes 20 million gallons per day of wastewater into Paper Mill Creek,
which flows into the lake. Wastewater from Donohue makes up 73% of the total discharge into Lake
Sam Rayburn. High levels of mercury in the fish, low dissolved oxygen levels, and dissolved
aluminum concentrations all pointed towards water contamination when tested by the TNRCC. After
witnessing almost 2,000 dead bass in the area, residents knew something was wrong. After researching
the paper mill, the TNRCC found that dioxins were being produced. Dioxins are highly toxic and
carcinogenic by products of paper mills that use chlorine bleaching agents. Despite this finding, the
TNRCC turned a blind eye and refused to believe anything was happening. Underweight fish and

The Crisis Center For South Suburbia Essay
This past week at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia was not as eventful as the past two weeks. The
clients that were causing frequent verbal altercations have either exited on their own, exited
involuntarily, or been given a written warning in which they are following the conditions of. I now
have only one client on my caseload, since the other had voluntarily exited herself and her son. On
Monday, 10/31/16, I was able to help the children in shelter celebrate Halloween. We set up trick or
treating spots throughout the shelter and I also was able to handout treat bags that were donated to the
shelter. The kids seemed to have some fun with the little celebration we were able to give to them.
Also on that day, I worked my first evening shift. The evening definitely has a lot more activity since
most clients are back from work or other commitments during the day. During this time, it was just
myself and D working. In the midst of all the activity, we had a medical emergency that I was able to
respond to. Tiffany* had been discharged from hospital with the understanding that she had a mild
heart attack and would need to have a stent put in later. Upon arriving back from the shelter,
something was just not right with her. Myself along with another client, observed her in the kitchen

Home Loans And Bear Stearns ( Jpmorgan Chase Bank
I was unlucky enough to be front and center working for a homebuilder at the time of the real estate
crisis. The mindset of sellers, realtors and mortgage brokers before the bubble burst was something
that was very obvious to me as a lack of care for the long term homeowners and their financial
welfare. While the banks like Countrywide Home Loans and Bear Stearns (JPMorgan Chase Bank)
were making billions of dollars on mortgages, they were ridiculous in thinking that this would not
come back on them tenfold. How can you purchase a loan and approve it through underwriting
without first verifying the documents were accurate? How could I get a home loan when I was 21 and
had a credit score of 1? Well, this definitely happened. I had a cosigner, of course, but still, the
qualifying standards back in 2005 were relaxed to a fault. I liked to think that I was responsible
enough to have this investment in a property to call my own, but we bought at the height of market in
Orlando, and only gained in equity for about 6 months. In 2007, our house was worth $40,000.00 less
than what we purchased it for. My home in Orlando was a $1,300.00 monthly mortgage that I thought
I could afford with help from roommates, but quickly found this to be too daunting. I ended up
moving out, and thankfully rented until this year. We finally found a buyer for the house this year,
without having to bring any money to closing. This is ten years of mortgage payments later. All thanks

Social Hierarchy In Jacob s Life
The main character, Jacob, never expected his parents to fall out of his life. He had a happy life at
Cornell, he was well on his way to earning a degree in veterinary medicine when his parents were
killed in a car accident. He felt a sense of powerlessness, he felt lost. He had nowhere to go: his home
was empty, and no one was willing to take care of him. The mission in Jacob s life now turned into a
mission of survival. He had to learn to become much more dependent on himself. This was hard for
him, and led him to walk out of one of his final exams to become a vet. Once all hope was lost, he
found a circus that changed the course of his life. There he encountered more powerlessness and
survival, both circumstances he already knew. The world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the central figures in these hierarchy s use power and manipulation to cause others to become
powerless. One example of this today would general managers in baseball. They have the power and
authority to send players to the major leagues, or the minor leagues. Many of these players depend on
their salary from baseball to support themselves and their families. When the time comes for call ups,
many of the players are left out, similar to how many of the circus workers were left out and largely
ignored by Uncle Al. They are kept in the minor leagues, where the average salary is between $3,000
and $7,500 for a five month season. This salary is lower than a fast food workers, and is a testimony to
how minor leaguers are largely disregarded by the MLB. The general managers have the power to call
up and send down the players on his team at will, giving him a large amount of power. Another trait
that is relevant in our world today is survival. For MLB players, this is a concept they have gotten
very familiar with. In our generation, new technologies have been developed that show many aspects
of a players play on the baseball field. There is a lot of pressure on MLB players to be consistently
good, because the alternative of being sent down is one they don t want to face. This is very cruel, and
can also be seen in Water for Elephants. Many of the circus workers have to fight for duties that are
relevant to Uncle Al in order to get paid. Uncle Al is similar to a general manager in this regard, as he
can decide how much each person gets paid based on their role in the circus. Three baseball players
are suing the MLB with hope that they will raise the wages minor leaguers get paid, but there is little
hope. The MLB is exempt from an anti trust law, meaning that all of this is legal. The minor league
players all have hope that they can make the major leagues someday, but the reality is that few
actually do.

My Catholic Experience Paper
Well I grew up in a Catholic family with a grandmother who was very spiritual, and even had her own

history of good and bad testimonials, the first noted use was in 1849 by the Australians when they
launched two hundred pilotless balloons mounted with bombs against the city of Venice 11. Another
milestone took shape during World War II when countries employed the use of radio controlled

The best tool for setting delivery drones apart from military drones is educating the public on the
differences. First, it is pertinent to explain how these drones work. In order to describe how drones
work, you have to first distinguish them from their predecessors: remote control helicopters.
According to Michael Perry, public relations manager at drone maker DJI, the key differentiator
between the two airborne devices is that drones have some level of autonomy meaning they can fly,
hover, or navigate without input from a pilot 2. The inputs for autonomous flight include: power
modules that can be battery, solar, or gas, sensors, altimeters, a GPS chip, and radio waves. These
inputs are inducing processes that include determining navigational routes, determining altitude, and
communication with other drones and their controller. Produced from these processes are the outputs
of delivery, status updates, and actual flights. Aside from the inputs, process, and outputs that are
needed for flight, drones will have to collect a multitude of data to be able to handle any transactions.
To further move up the value chain, adding sustainable value to drone delivery business, picking up
packages will be essential and because of that it is important to discuss the areas of data in reference to
both delivery and picking up packages. There are four areas that data collection will be required in for
the drone pickup and delivery business system to work: customer

Dna Replication And The Cell Cycle
Have you ever fell while riding a bicycle? Bobby was riding on his bike down a slope hill when he
suddenly loses control of the bike and runs into a tree. Ow! Bobby falls down his bike and onto the
ground, scraping his knee. About a week later, Bobby s skin is pretty much healed up. How? How did
Bobby s wound heal?
When you get a cut in your skin, your skin cells divide to replace the ones that died from the injury.
An important part of the division of cells is DNA replication. Without DNA replication, the new cells
wouldn t have DNA. So why is DNA so important? DNA is the basic blueprint of life, and it serves to
tell the cells what to do, and what proteins to code for. Let s take a deeper look into Bobby s cell to see
what fascinating events happens during DNA replication.
DNA Replication The Cell Cycle
Before Bobby s cells enter the the stage of mitosis to divide, it goes through DNA replication. This
process occurs in the nucleus of the cell during the S phase of the interphase of the cell cycle. The
process of DNA replication is important in that it is the instruction manual found in every cell that
serves to regulate your body and its functions. For example, if tells your cells which proteins to code
for.
DNA is replicated so that it can be passed into the daughter cells at the end of mitosis.
Replication Forks and Bubbles
First, let s understand where DNA replication is happening along the DNA. The whole region of

Physical Culture In America Essay
Over the years, America has established an atmosphere where space and society, not only influences
physical culture, but is influenced by the culture as well. These influences help to create knowledge
and power within contemporary America that has shaped our society. The relationship between
physical culture, space, and society is very important because it has created many of the social
constructs and norms that we have within the sport. Historically, physical activity has been a space for
men to prove their masculinity and power, thus creating a stigma of male superiority. Physical activity
is more than just physical, it is also mental and strategic. Physical activity is used to gain status as
well. Things such as Social constructs, such as race hierarchy, that was formed through contemporary
society found itself embedded within sports. It helped to create different power dynamics within social

Imagery Test Anxiety
Imagery Methods for Test Anxiety
Test anxiety has always been an issue I have struggled with and it has only increased since I started
University. My personal experience with test anxiety leads to physiological symptoms such as nervous
jitter, accelerated heart beats and light headedness, all of which impacts my test taking skills and
influence my decision making ability. This is a problem because although I am prepared with the
knowledge for an exam, it still affects my judgement when writing my answers and thus causes an
impact on my grades.
A study by Rebecca Stephens (1992), Imagery: A Treatment for Nursing Student Anxiety , explained
imagery methods that were proven effective among nursing students experiencing similar anxiety.
Nursing students are subjected to midterms and exams as are students in other programs, and although
the material is different it is the fear before writing a test that causes the anxiety. This makes it
applicable to my specific situation because although I am a Human Kinetics major, I am required to
take exams in all of my classes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Effect Of Hieroglyphics On The Rosetta Stone
Arguably one of the most important discoveries made regarding the historical and cultural study of
ancient Egypt is the translation of the writing form known as hieroglyphics. This language, lost for
thousands of years, formed a tantalizing challenge to a young Jean François who committed his life to
its translation. Scholars such as Sylvestre de Sacy had attempted to translate the Rosetta Stone before
Champollion, but after painstaking and unfruitful work, they abandoned it (Giblin 32). Champollion s
breakthrough with hieroglyphics on the Rosetta Stone opened up new possibilities to study and
understand ancient Egypt like never before, and modern Egyptology was born.

Although he was able to find them, he was not able to decipher an alphabetical system that applied to
the rest of the text. It seemed that the other symbols represented things, not letters. Having reached a
dead end in his work, he gave up, saying, The problem is too complicated, scientifically insoluble
(Giblin 32). A few others continued after him with the same idea of a solely alphabetical system, but
they all came to the same dead end and were not able to make any progress.
One of the first scholars to make any real headway on the translation was Thomas Young, a British
polymath (Silet 1). Being a polymath and not understanding any of the language to begin with, Young
meticulously inspected the stone, looking for recurring patterns and recording the number of times
each symbol was repeated (Meyerson 123). Young knew that Ptolemys were Greek, so he assumed
that the name Ptolemaios, spelled in the Greek style, would appear spelled the same way in the
hieroglyphic section. Indeed he did find several times the cartouche containing what he believed to

ruby jewelry from a jewelry store in Sterling Heights, MI for a loved one s July birthday. Do they
wear jewelry?: Before you head out to the jewelry store to pick pui loved one a great piece of ruby

chic to sexy and elegant, whatever you choose should stick to this and be something they can easily
wear and completes their look. What is their lifestyle?: A person s lifestyle can affect a lot of things,
including whether or not they wear jewelry and what kind of jewelry they can wear. You don t want to
just take into account what they do on their free time, think about their profession. For example, if

or earrings instead of a ring that they will rarely get the chance to wear. Is there anything they don t
currently have in their jewelry collection?: It is always a good idea to purchase something that people
don t already have when you are getting them a gift. Even when buying them jewelry, you want to be

Barry Minkow s Ponzi Scheme
Introduction
At the Age of 15, Barry Minkow founded ZZZZ best, a carpet cleaning business he ran out of his
garage. Within 6 years, Barry had turned his small business into a 200 Million dollar company (Elmer
DeWitt Brown, 1987). On paper, Barry was worth 109 Million dollars, and his success and
philanthropy had garnered him the attention of numerous business and government leaders. Barry was
a pillar of the L.A community. He coached softball and was an active donor to the local YMCA and
drug treatment programs, donating 20,000 and 60,000 to each respectively (Starvo Writers, 1987). In

The non existent revenues reported from these contracts convinced banks to lend money to ZZZZ

would falsify additional contracts. (Murphy, 1989). Overall, this allowed ZZZZ Best to significantly
expand their operations, and the company was able to employ 374 employees across 13 offices around
California (Murphy, 1989). However, in need of more funds to pay their debt as it came do, Minkow

Archy In Gallipoli
Intro: in the film Gallipoli by peter weir uses characters Billy, Barney, Snowy and Archy to illustrate
the thoughts of young Australians at this time. E.g. War was a great escapade not to be missed out on.
The director shows this to us by bringing us to Australia and showing how the young Australians were
eager to see new things. And then again in Egypt by making it look like so much fun. But when the
film comes to the last section peter weir shows the harsh brutality of war.
Body1: peter weir shows the young Australians exited to head off to war from Australia. The Director
shows this with Billy, Barney, Snowy catching a train off to Perth to sign up and Archy thinking that
war is amazing and that it s worth leaving his home and family for an adventure of a lifetime. After A
race Archy Is turned down by the light horse in his community thanks to Les McCann after Archy beat
him in a race in the beginning minutes of the film. This caused Archy to go with Frank to Perth and
sign up for the war. Archy then makes it into the light horse but frank does not as frank does not know

In Egypt the story turns to Frank, Billy, Barney, Snowy and how they react to the new people and their
ways. During this time the four encounter merchants. This eventually lead to people buying the same
thing for different prices and a fight for justice on behave of their robbed comrade. In Egypt peter weir
also shows the soldiers mock the British as the Australians found them to be quite amusing. Another
event that happens in in Egypt is the reuniting of the two friends Frank and Archy in a training brothel
in the sand dunes. This leads to Frank being transferred into the light horse (as the horses weren t
going to Gallipoli). This shows a major part of the Anzacs journey to Gallipoli as most Anzacs had

The Mythology Of The Greek Society
It s generally agreed upon, from scholars to the average reader, that the ancient Greece society was
overwhelmingly patriarchal. For this reason, 4th century B.C had views that were dominantly
misogynist. Women were thought to be no more than tools to the men of the Athenian society. To
explain, one can look at the archaeology of the Greeks. The towering figure of Dionysos, the God of
Wine, hovering over a miniature, and at the same time powerless, women perfectly exemplifies this
concept of misogynism. To further the periods misogynistic ideas, the traditional literature had no
concept of centering a story around a woman. Yet despite living in this society as described, Greek
playwright Euripides was the first voice of protofeminism in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even the chorus doesn t deny her endeavors, thus arousing some form of pity in the reader. Medea
even states that she just prefers death over all else. The argument though is, can there really by pity for
a child killer and a savage whose actions have resulted in countless deaths? No matter the outcome of
the play, Euripides writes it so there is a certain level of connection with Medea in the beginning of
the play, so the viewer can watch as she releases herself from the male control. This in turn makes the
viewer instead go through catharsis, because they related most to the tragic ending of Jason and
realized that this could have been prevented if a male treated a woman in a better fashion. Even
Bernard Knox, from the Johns Hopkins press, stated that the lines of Medea s speech is a complaint of
a woman of great intellectual capacity who lack the power for change (Knox 314). Euripides takes
advantage of this fact to convey that Medea wouldn t have mindlessly murder her children, he wanted
the audience to then think about why the playwright wrote that scene. Only then did they realize it was
to sympathize with Medea. Symbolically this scene conveyed women as an individual and not just a
women bearer. The horrors are a coverup for Euripides so his views of proto feminism weren t deemed
too radical. In addition, the work of Euripides

Political Participation Issue
The participation rates among citizens in politics tend to bend towards those with better
socioeconomic statuses, males of older age, and revolve around mostly white/Caucasian people (those
of European background.) This is due to popular sentiment, which is likely in relation to historical
development. The socioeconomic statuses are based on a person s education, income and occupation.
Meaning that the people with the most money, time and skills are most likely to participate in political
events. This tends to revolve around older people with higher education, time and higher income.
People with less socioeconomic status, which is a feature commonly associated with people of color,
are often those who are most in need of government aid to improve their daily lives. The historical
factors in comparison to this political participation issue, would be that white males were the first to
gain voting rights, leaving minorities (people of color and women) to not obtain this ability until
decades later. This factor influences our world today where the national sentiment of a man s
importance of voting is still emphasized. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Boulianne in an article written by John Wihbey it was observed that citizens who consume more news

The European Union (EU) vs the North American Free Trade Agreement
Introduction
The European Union (EU) is the organization which integrates the countries listed below, both
politically and economically. It is a customs union, which is an agreement amongst a group of
countries to eliminate trade barriers between them on the movement of goods, services, labor and
capital, and also to establish a common external tariff on goods and services coming into the union.
The EU evolved from the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), which was formed in 1951 as
a response to the First and Second World Wars to try to ensure future peace in Europe. This became
the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1965, which in turn became the European ... Show

Indeed, the ideological foundations that gave birth to the EU were based on ensuring development and
maintaining international stability, i.e., the containment of communist expansion in post World War II
Europe (Hunt 1989). The Maastricht Treaty which gave birth to the EU in 1992 included
considerations for joint policies in regard to military defense and citizenship.
Trading blocs could strongly affect a company s investment decision. This particular trading bloc
development prompted Ford to realise it could consider Europe to be one common market rather than
a collection of individual markets. In 1967, Ford changed its management structure to include its
European operations under one umbrella organisation known as Ford Europe Incorporated. Its two
large U.K. and German manufacturing centres remained an important dimension of the new strategy,
but they were no longer considered separate, independently operating companies. Despite nationalistic
tendencies on the part of the host country management, Ford decided that, from the companies
perspective, it was best to eliminate national boundaries, and a German director said, The pooling of
the two companies cut the engineering bill in half for each company, provided economies of scale,

Aerobic Respiration Lab Report
The very existence of living cells depends heavily on the potential energy of the cell. At the chemical
level, these bonds have potential energy ( Potential, Kinetic, Free, and Activation Energy. Biology,

Most of the ATP formed during aerobic catabolism, could be the result from a process that begins with
passing electrons through a number of chemical reactions to a final electron acceptor O2. It is the only
place where aerobic respiration requires O2?. These reactions take place in specialized protein
complexes located in the inner membrane of the mitochondria of eukaryotic organisms and on the

Relationship Between Catullus And Lesbia
Option 2: Catullus and Lesbia s Relationship
Introduction
Lesbia is the subject of Catullus s most passionate and seemingly sincere poems. The relationship
between Catullus and Lesbia is tumultuous to say the least. His poems about Lesbia and their
relationship display a wide range of emotions which change from a relationship of tenderness and
love, to one of uncertainty, to one of sorrow and disappointment. They rapidly fall in and out of love
with another. Their affections for one another are fickle and constantly changing. They have a
mercurial kind of love. Catullus obviously loved Lesbia deeply, but he also feels intense dislike,
disappointment and contempt towards her. Through it all, it seems as though Catullus longs for

He has succumbed to his weakness for her. Catullus describes his love and jealously as a sort of
illness, to see and hear Lesbia talking to another man ravishes his senses, causing his ears to ring, his
eyes to go black and fire to snake through his limbs. Catullus expresses his suffering in physical terms.
The symptoms he lists indicate an intense psychological state of anxiety He has become jealous of a
man who is interacting with her. He describes his feelings of agony when he sees her. The relationship
at this point is not reciprocal. Catullus describes how her presence leaves him feeling weak and
speechless. Once again he is besotted with her. Catullus describes how dense darkness blinds him
when he sees Lesbia. The darkness here may be the blind love that many experience when they are
madly in love with someone to the point that they cannot see their faults. He also warns himself
against leisure for he knows that brooding over her will only lead to his demise. Otium is dangerous
only so far as Catullus is concerned. It is not bad in itself but because of the use to which Catullus puts
it, he has gone beyond the proper bounds. He uses his otium to think about Lesbia, but he goes too far
and is brought to suffer. The exemplum of lines 15 16 underscores this pain: otium has destroyed even
kings and cities; it can destroy Catullus, too. There is no humor

Essay Of Prenatal Screening In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In her novel, Frankenstein, Mary Shelley warns of the boundaries of scientific exploration. Victor
Frankenstein, a brilliant scientist, attempts to play God in resurrecting a corpse and creating new life.
This has disastrous effects which include the death of many characters throughout the novel. All told,
the story provides a cautionary tale of the attempts to play God in regards to scientific advancement.
This raises the question of how far is too far in terms of scientific exploration. With the increasing
popularity of eugenics in regards to prenatal screening, one can t help but wonder, is this the
dangerous idea of playing God that Shelley warned us about? One of the most common forms of
eugenics nowadays is prenatal sex selection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During IVF, the egg is typically fertilized in a lab before being implanted into the uterus. Before
transferring the embryo into the uterus, some fertility clinics offer patients the option of choosing what

futuristic and controversial but Codington Lacerte argues that prenatal sex selection methods allow
parents to make informed choices about the makeup of their families (Codington Lacerte, Point: Sex

parents aren t really damaging society. However, by giving parents the ability to choose whether they

Entrepreneur Characteristics
Are You Cut Out to Be a Successful Entrepreneur?
ABSTRACT
First, there was an interview with a successful entrepreneur. Second, there was a talk on
entrepreneurship by a guest speaker, Mr. Azmi Ahmad (the CEO of Skali.com) and later, an elevator
speech by fellow students on various issues related to entrepreneurship. This collective information
and some reading on entrepreneurship journals, books and articles have brought to the idea on writing
this paper, towards certain perspective, on successful entrepreneurial characteristics. This paper
examines the myths associated with what it takes to be an entrepreneur, the profiles and the common
characteristics among these successful entrepreneurs. INTRODUCTION

iii. Sense of Urgency
Entrepreneurs have a never ending sense of urgency to develop their ideas. Inactivity makes them
impatient, tense, and uneasy. They have drive and high energy levels, they are achievement oriented,
and they are tireless in the pursuit of their goals. iv. Comprehensive Awareness
Successful entrepreneurs can comprehend complex situations that may include planning, making
strategic decisions, and working on multiple business ideas simultaneously. They are farsighted and
aware of important details, and they will continuously review all possibilities to achieve their business
objectives.
v. Realism
Entrepreneurs say what they mean and assume that everyone else does too. They tend to be too
trusting and may not be sufficiently suspicious in their business dealings with other people.
vi. Conceptual Ability
Entrepreneurs possess the ability to identify relationships quickly in the midst of complex situations.
They identify problems and begin working on their solution faster than other people. vii. Status
Requirements
Entrepreneurs find satisfaction in symbols of success that are external to themselves. Successful
entrepreneurs find their satisfaction of status needs in the performance of their business, not in the
appearance they present to their peers and to the public. viii. Interpersonal Relationships
Entrepreneurs are more concerned with people s accomplishments than with their feelings.

Sistema De Casta
Casta was a hierarchical system of race classification created by Spanish elites in Hispanic America
during the 18th century. These Castas were created for and by the Spanish elites, solely for the
purpose of showing the massive inequality in the area. The Sistema de Castas was used in 17th and
18th centuries in Spanish America and Spanish Philippines to describe and socially rank the mixed
race people who were born during the post conquest period. In the 18th century Casta paintings were
used to show a myriad of possible ethnic combinations. There were basic Castas, but countless
intermediate kinds were produced from the mixing of existing mixtures. Casta paintings help

The black boy seems to be the offspring of these two individuals which shows that intermingling was
common. They also seem to be in Europe due to the European influences seen throughout the photo,
such as the outfits the men are wearing. In Casta painting number 5, Jose Alcibar shows a black man
wearing a black European styled hat along with a red European style jacket and matching breeches. In
the photo, he is seen holding a Morisca woman s hand. Morisca s were former Muslims who
converted to Christianity after Spain outlawed the public practice of Islam. Morisca s are also 1/8th
African and 7/8th Spanish. The Spanish (Morisca) woman is wearing a dress that is made of a
stunning brocade with a hem that is surrounded by gold. Also, the woman s dress has a large hoop.
Moving along to the right side of the photo you can see the Mullato boy riding a goat. The concept
behind the Black man holding the Spanish ladies hand is to show that they are a couple whom
produced a mixed child that is half black and half white (Mullato). They seemed to be pictured in a
European style environment, due to the fact that Moriscos were prominent in Europe. A situation like
this would not be common in the colonial era. In fact, it would be very rare to see such mixing of races
being painted. This shows the mixing of races were starting to be seen as a norm. In Casta painting
number 10 it shows an Indian male riding a horse, whom seems to be wearing

Honesty Responses
Jason, I enjoyed reading through your post and commend your honesty in your responses 1. I agree
that most clients have learned to protect themselves over the years to avoid pain. It is much easier to
avoid or place the blame for the problems in their lives on others. It is more difficult for people to
accept they have a part in their own pain and are to blame in some circumstances. 2. It does appear
that giving advice or telling a client how to respond keeps the client engaging on a surface level
instead of going deeper. I think it is human nature at times to protect oneself and not want to bring up
deeper things. If the client has been hurt by others, it will be difficult to bring up those feelings.
Likewise, the counselor may be nervous about opening up a client s deeper issues. As deeper ... Show

Your response in this discussion brings to light the importance of counselors and clients working

how a therapist can use this interaction to bring out new themes is valuable. It does allow the
counselor to put patterns from the client s personal relationships. 1. Thank you for you honest

  • 3. Stories of People before Us It was many years ago, long before your beloved parents or even their own. It was far past the time when skyscrapers first began their grazing of the heavens, past even the taking advantage of devote teachers. Further still, our story takes us. Much like many tales of this sort there is perhaps little truth weaved in all that serve not as references for literal information but references for wisdom and understanding. I do not profess that readers who study these tomes will come out any the wiser, nor is it this tome s sole purpose. Some things in life do not require purpose nor plan, but moving forward. Before our world, there was perhaps another. In it lived a single person, a woman perhaps, who ruled over all the animals and plants. She, like most others, did not enjoy her solitude and decided to design a people to accompany her. So thus, people came to be. Despite the people, she had no joy. Those she had created were savage, greedy, and sinful. It displeased her. However, she was merciful and could not bring herself to destroy them, so instead felt it necessary to guide them. To assist her she created a new type of people, one who would embody all that she valued. These people would be rulers and would rule over the other citizens. To form her new rulers she took four traits, agápē (unconditional love), compassion, generosity, trustworthiness, and composed one whom she would entrust with her people. Carefully she layered a combination of agápē trustworthiness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Summary Of The Heights By Lin Manuel Miranda Lin Manuel Miranda won his first Tony Award in 2008 for Best Original Score for his work on In the Heights, a musical with it s foundation of music being rap and salsa. Lin Manuel Miranda s In the Heights carefully infuses his latin and hip hop/rap roots into the lyrics and music to create one of the first hip hop musicals that thoroughly tells a story. In the Heights jumps into three days in the life of the New York City latino neighborhood, Washington Heights and focuses on the dreams and aspirations for latino immigrants. It focuses specifically the story of the two main characters: Usnavi de la Vega and Nina Rosario. Nina is the one who made it out and went to college but is now back in Washington Heights after dropping out of Stanford University due to losing her scholarship. Nina also runs into one of her parent s employees, Benny, and begins rekindling their love. Usnavi is the owner of the local bodega and dreams of flying back to the Dominican Republic, where his parents are from. Usnavi is in love with Vanessa, a worker at the salon next door, but is too awkward and intimidated to say anything. In the Heights was the first full length show that Lin Manuel Miranda wrote. It was written his sophomore year of college at Wesleyan College in 1999. At this time, the latin pop boom was just occurring with artists like Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez were becoming popular and featured on the radio. We had this shared dual culture of American culture and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A scientific theory is usually said to be a well tested concept that explains an endless supply of observations. For example we obviously know that the Earth revolves around the sun and has been tested through observation and experiment which clearly cant come up with another explanation to contradict this theory. On the other end of the spectrum we have scientific hypothesis which is commonly seen as a possible explanation for a set of observations or answer to a scientific question must be testable. In addition to this, until now linkage analysis has pointed to a number of chromosomal locations, but has failed to identify a clear candidate gene(s). Treating TS Treating TS has been a controversial issue among scientist for years. The kind of medication that should be prescribed to people with TS is currently under debate mainly because TS is frequently accompanied along with other disorders such as OCD or ADHD. Due to that there is no one medication that is absolutely beneficial for all persons with TS. Moreover, none of the available medications for TS completely eliminates symptoms and in addition, all medications have side effects. Instead, the available TS medications are only able to help reduce specific symptoms. Some patients who require medication to reduce the frequency and intensity of the tic symptoms may be treated with neuroleptic drugs such as haloperidol and pimozide (Abuzzahab Brown, 2001). These medications are usually given in very small doses that are increased slowly until the best possible balance between symptoms and side effects is achieved. He had nowhere to go: his home was empty, and no one was willing to take care of him. The mission in Jacob s life now turned into a mission of survival. He had to learn to become much more dependent on himself. This was hard for him, and led him to walk out of one of his final exams to become a vet. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the central figures in these hierarchy s use power and manipulation to cause others to become powerless. One example of this today would general managers in baseball. They have the power and authority to send players to the major leagues, or the minor leagues. Many of these players depend on their salary from baseball to support themselves and their families. When the time comes for call ups, many of the players are left out, similar to how many of the circus workers were left out and largely ignored by Uncle Al. They are kept in the minor leagues, where the average salary is between $3,000 and $7,500 for a five month season. This salary is lower than a fast food workers, and is a testimony to how minor leaguers are largely disregarded by the MLB. The general managers have the power to call up and send down the players on his team at will, giving him a large amount of power. Another trait that is relevant in our world today is survival. For MLB players, this is a concept they have gotten very familiar with. In our generation, new technologies have been developed that show many aspects of a players play on the baseball field. There is a lot of pressure on MLB players to be consistently good, because the alternative of being sent down is one they don t want to face. This is very cruel, and can also be seen in Water for Elephants. Many of the circus workers have to fight for duties that are relevant to Uncle Al in order to get paid. Uncle Al is similar to a general manager in this regard, as he can decide how much each person gets paid based on their role in the circus. Three baseball players are suing the MLB with hope that they will raise the wages minor leaguers get paid, but there is little hope. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The best tool for setting delivery drones apart from military drones is educating the public on the differences. First, it is pertinent to explain how these drones work. In order to describe how drones work, you have to first distinguish them from their predecessors: remote control helicopters. According to Michael Perry, public relations manager at drone maker DJI, the key differentiator between the two airborne devices is that drones have some level of autonomy meaning they can fly, hover, or navigate without input from a pilot 2. The inputs for autonomous flight include: power modules that can be battery, solar, or gas, sensors, altimeters, a GPS chip, and radio waves. These inputs are inducing processes that include determining navigational routes, determining altitude, and communication with other drones and their controller. Produced from these processes are the outputs of delivery, status updates, and actual flights. Aside from the inputs, process, and outputs that are needed for flight, drones will have to collect a multitude of data to be able to handle any transactions. Ow! Bobby falls down his bike and onto the ground, scraping his knee. About a week later, Bobby s skin is pretty much healed up. How? How did Bobby s wound heal? When you get a cut in your skin, your skin cells divide to replace the ones that died from the injury. An important part of the division of cells is DNA replication. Without DNA replication, the new cells wouldn t have DNA. So why is DNA so important? DNA is the basic blueprint of life, and it serves to tell the cells what to do, and what proteins to code for. Let s take a deeper look into Bobby s cell to see what fascinating events happens during DNA replication. DNA Replication The Cell Cycle Before Bobby s cells enter the the stage of mitosis to divide, it goes through DNA replication. This language, lost for thousands of years, formed a tantalizing challenge to a young Jean François who committed his life to its translation. Scholars such as Sylvestre de Sacy had attempted to translate the Rosetta Stone before Champollion, but after painstaking and unfruitful work, they abandoned it (Giblin 32). A few others continued after him with the same idea of a solely alphabetical system, but they all came to the same dead end and were not able to make any progress. One of the first scholars to make any real headway on the translation was Thomas Young, a British polymath (Silet 1). Being a polymath and not understanding any of the language to begin with, Young meticulously inspected the stone, looking for recurring patterns and recording the number of times each symbol was repeated (Meyerson 123). Young knew that Ptolemys were Greek, so he assumed that the name Ptolemaios, spelled in the Greek style, would appear spelled the same way in the hieroglyphic section. Indeed he did find several times the cartouche containing what he believed to spell Ptolemaios (Giblet 40). To explain, one can look at the archaeology of the Greeks. The towering figure of Dionysos, the God of Wine, hovering over a miniature, and at the same time powerless, women perfectly exemplifies this concept of misogynism. No matter the outcome of the play, Euripides writes it so there is a certain level of connection with Medea in the beginning of the play, so the viewer can watch as she releases herself from the male control. This tends to revolve around older people with higher education, time and higher income. People with less socioeconomic status, which is a feature commonly associated with people of color, are often those who are most in need of government aid to improve their daily lives. The historical factors in comparison to this political participation issue, would be that white males were the first to gain voting rights, leaving minorities (people of color and women) to not obtain this ability until decades later. This factor influences our world today where the national sentiment of a man s importance of voting is still emphasized. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The European Union (EU) vs the North American Free Trade Agreement Introduction The European Union (EU) is the organization which integrates the countries listed below, both politically and economically. It is a customs union, which is an agreement amongst a group of countries to eliminate trade barriers between them on the movement of goods, services, labor and capital, and also to establish a common external tariff on goods and services coming into the union. The EU evolved from the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), which was formed in 1951 as a response to the First and Second World Wars to try to ensure future peace in Europe. The Maastricht Treaty which gave birth to the EU in 1992 included considerations for joint policies in regard to military defense and citizenship. Trading blocs could strongly affect a company s investment decision. This particular trading bloc development prompted Ford to realise it could consider Europe to be one common market rather than a collection of individual markets. In 1967, Ford changed its management structure to include its European operations under one umbrella organisation known as Ford Europe Incorporated. Its two large U.K. and German manufacturing centres remained an important dimension of the new strategy, but they were no longer considered separate, independently operating companies. Despite nationalistic tendencies on the part of the host country management, Ford decided that, from the companies perspective, it was best to eliminate national boundaries, and a German director said, The pooling of the two companies cut the engineering bill in half for each company, provided economies of scale, with double the volume in ... At the chemical level, these bonds have potential energy ( Potential, Kinetic, Free, and Activation Energy. Biology, n.d). Most of the ATP formed during aerobic catabolism, could be the result from a process that begins with passing electrons through a number of chemical reactions to a final electron acceptor O2. It is the only place where aerobic respiration requires O2?. • 29. Relationship Between Catullus And Lesbia Option 2: Catullus and Lesbia s Relationship Introduction Lesbia is the subject of Catullus s most passionate and seemingly sincere poems. The relationship between Catullus and Lesbia is tumultuous to say the least. His poems about Lesbia and their relationship display a wide range of emotions which change from a relationship of tenderness and love, to one of uncertainty, to one of sorrow and disappointment. They rapidly fall in and out of love with another. Their affections for one another are fickle and constantly changing. They have a mercurial kind of love. Catullus obviously loved Lesbia deeply, but he also feels intense dislike, disappointment and contempt towards her. Through it all, it seems as though Catullus longs for Lesbia, but ... Catullus describes his love and jealously as a sort of illness, to see and hear Lesbia talking to another man ravishes his senses, causing his ears to ring, his eyes to go black and fire to snake through his limbs. Catullus expresses his suffering in physical terms. The symptoms he lists indicate an intense psychological state of anxiety He has become jealous of a man who is interacting with her. He describes his feelings of agony when he sees her. The relationship at this point is not reciprocal. Catullus describes how her presence leaves him feeling weak and speechless. Once again he is besotted with her. Catullus describes how dense darkness blinds him when he sees Lesbia. The darkness here may be the blind love that many experience when they are madly in love with someone to the point that they cannot see their faults. He also warns himself against leisure for he knows that brooding over her will only lead to his demise. Otium is dangerous only so far as Catullus is concerned. It is not bad in itself but because of the use to which Catullus puts it, he has gone beyond the proper bounds. He uses his otium to think about Lesbia, but he goes too far and is brought to suffer. The exemplum of lines 15 16 underscores this pain: otium has destroyed even kings and cities; it can destroy Catullus, too. There is no humor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This seems both futuristic and controversial but Codington Lacerte argues that prenatal sex selection methods allow parents to make informed choices about the makeup of their families (Codington Lacerte, Point: Sex Selection ). This type of eugenics is seemingly harmless because in choosing a sex for their child, parents aren t really damaging society. I agree that most clients have learned to protect themselves over the years to avoid pain. It is much easier to avoid or place the blame for the problems in their lives on others. It is more difficult for people to accept they have a part in their own pain and are to blame in some circumstances. 2. It does appear that giving advice or telling a client how to respond keeps the client engaging on a surface level instead of going deeper.
