Civil War Spies
Male and female spies were essential sources of information during the Civil War. The best spies were
people you would never suspect. Spies were brave, faceless and they knew the environment very well.
Their presence was incredibly excepted. Whether they dressed as men and joined the army, posed as
mindless slaves, or just kept their ears opens in collective circles, spies provided necessary
information. It was even a woman spy who provided Union battle plans to Confederate Army, which
allowed them to win the First Battle of Manassass (First Bull Run). Throughout history, men have
been spies and the American Civil War was no exception. The finest spies are people you would never
suspect. Spencer Kellogg Brown, George Curtis and Philip ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There he shared the information that he had gathered on his journey. It is not known why he was such
a great spy but he was knoown as a sneaky man. On August 15, 1862, he was arrested, taken to
Richmond for trial, and sentenced to hang. He was arrested after sinking the ferry supplying Fort
Hudson, Georgia. On September 25, 1863 Spencer Kellogg Brown was hanged. Spencer once said
before his dreadful death, Did you ever pass through a tunnel under a mountain? My passage, my
death is dark, but beyond all is light and bright.
George Curtis, another first rate spy, was living in New York at the beginning of the Civil War, and he
joined a New York Infantry Regiment. He then became a Pinkerton agent, and a tremendous spy. He
was selected in 1862 to obtain information from Richmond. He made his way to the Confederate
capital as a contraband merchant selling gun caps, ammunition, and the much needed quinine. The day
after reaching Virginia he was taken to the Confederate lines and to an audience with Lt. General
Ambrose Powell Hill. General Hill gave him a pass to go on to Richmond and also asked Curtis if he
would carry some dispatches as well. Curtis gladly agreed to carry out his chore. When Curtis reached
Richmond he was introduced to Confederate Secretary of War Judah Benjamin where he negotiated
for the delivery of his contraband goods and received a pass to move in and out of Richmond freely.

Fice Of Child Protective Services
History tells us that child abuse and neglect have been present in the United States since its
origination. In an attempt to help prevent this from happening and supply aid to those in need, the
federal government created The Office of Child Protective Services. The Office of Child Protective
Services provides several functions for the Family Services Division of the Department of Human
Resources. The child protective services includes maintaining the Central Registry on Child Abuse
and Neglect, applying for and monitoring grants for protective services projects and providing case
consultation services. The social work intern provided assistance to a case worker that received a case
that was reported by The University of South Alabama s Children s and Women s Hospital. The report
stated that an African American 16 year old male was admitted for diabetic ketoacidosis with
hypotension due to severe dehydration. The client was admitted to The University of South Alabama s
Children s and Women s Hospital eight times within this year. The client and his mother were
noncompliant with medication and treatment. The client s doctor stated that the client would not
survive if noncompliance continues. The client s primary system that this report disclosed was that the
client is in danger because he is not taking care of himself by not taking his medication.
According to National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information, medical neglect is the

Definition Of Civil Law
Every profession, including the legal field; has its own language or specific terms define procedures,
actions and outcomes. Therefore, in order to gain understanding it is highly recommended that the pro

in this teaching; the focus is on civil cases. Therefore, review all the resources included, but we
recommend that the student focus on the terms listed on this page. After Acquired Evidence: Is a tactic

Disadvantages Of Driverless Cars
I m on my way! you tell your friend over the phone as you step into your car. I ll be there in half an
hour! You sit down and buckle up, absentmindedly opening the alarm app on your phone. You set it to
wake you up in thirty minutes, then relax into your seat, turn on the radio, and close your eyes. How is
this possible? Technology has advanced incredibly quickly over the last hundred years, with
developments such as the Internet and the smart phone. Along with this technology has come a lot of
developments in the robotics industry. Robotic surgeons, controlled by professionals, have hands
much steadier and more precise than a human could ever hope to mimick, increasing safety and
decreasing recovery time for surgery patients. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sensors like these protect against most accidents already, and make up for any amount of human error
that might put a driver in some amount of peril. The ultrasonic sensors tell the car whether or not there
are bumps on the road, or if it s approaching a curb, something a human is not always capable of
doing, and the lidar on top identifies lane markers and the edges of the road by bouncing light off of
them. Sensors on self driving cars take out all the guess work usually involved in driving a car out of
the equation. While all of these sensors work together to steer the car away from danger, occasionally,
says Olivia Solon, data amassed by all the sensors can conflict with each other, resulting in a
dangerous situation referred to as sensor fusion. This fusion of sensors has already resulted in a fatal
crash involving a tester of a self driving Tesla car; the sensors produced conflicting data, and as a
result mistook a truck for an overhead road sign, causing the car to run directly into the truck.
Therefore, while these numerous sensors are instrumental to the driverless car, they are still in
development and not yet safe to trust with human lives. GPS tracking and positioning is also
incorporated into every automated car, for the self evident purpose of informing driver and car where
they are and where they re going. Some cars

Examples Of Feminism In The Scarlet Letter
In American Literature, a common theme has been the feminist literary theory. Feminism is the belief
that women and men should be equal without apology. This is easily related to the novel, The Scarlet
Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the story, Hester Prynne has a baby with a man she wasn t married
to. For her punishment she had to wear a scarlet A to mark her shame. The secret father of her child,
Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, is filled with guilt and her husband, Roger Chillingworth, seeks
revenge. This is all being told by the nameless narrator, who has a lot in common with the
author,Nathaniel Hawthorne. The narrator is a surveyor of the Salem Custom House. He hates it there

Then tried to make her tell who the father was, wear the letter, give up her child and so many other
things. on page 121 Chillingworth threatened Hester if she said she knew him, ...If you fail me in this,
beware! His reputation, his career, and his life will be in my hands. Beware! On page 111 hester was
scolded for cheating on her husband even though he had been gone for so long. The women in the
story were supposed to do nothing more than please their husbands..They were expected to stay by
their husbands side no matter what, remain faithful, and basically cater to him. after caring for her
husband, the woman was expected to tend to accommodate the children s needs, fix all the meals, and
make sure the house is nice the house is nice and tidy. But not Hester! She played by her own rules.
Hester was a single mom living simple. Hester never sought to earn anything beyond substance for
herself and a simple abundance for her child (131). this was very rare in this time. Hester was not
intimidated by the status quo, her main priority was making her daughter

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Rspberry Pi
Visually impaired people face a lot of problems in their daily life. In order to make them live
confidentially without the need of others we develop an assistive technology. We propose a camera
based tool which helps to read the text label from the products that are commonly in use. We first
propose image capturing method that is usually a camera used to capture the object whose label is to
be read. Then feature extraction, every image has its own features different from others. We use
certain feature extraction algorithms like gradient conversion, sobel edge detection, canny edge
detection etc. Histogram might be applied to extract the image features. Finally speech output the
processed image after recognition label text is output to visually impaired people as speech output.
Raspberry pi is used for this entire application.
Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized single computer which uses ARM1176JZF s core system on chip is
used to place all the necessary electronic components on a single chip. It eliminates a single chip for
CPU, GPU, and USB controller. RAM is compressed to mini size. Raspberry Pi needs an operating
system to start up. Advantage of using a raspberry pi is that it omits any onboard non volatile memory

Essay on Beals’ Reflection and Analysis
Beals Reflection and Analysis In the book Warriors Don t Cry, Melba Beals was a heroine and a
national symbol of hope for change. Beals and eight other students were brave enough to attend Little
Rock Central High School, the highly segregated school in Arkansas in 1957. Despite the many
objections from the segregationists and the Governor Faubus, the nine students were able to complete
the school year. During the school year of 1957 1958, Melba and eight other African American
students received tremendous harassments from the Central High students, parents, administrators,
and segregationists. Beals mother almost lost her, because she supported her daughter s decision to
attend Central High. President Eisenhower had ordered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For the estimate, the safety of these nine students did cost the federal government more than a million.
In addition, NAACP fought many legal suits in the courts with the segregationists. Many civil right
leaders criticized the Little Rock crisis nationally. The segregation in public school did take away the
quality, the advantages, and the rights of education from all minor students. The Little Rock crisis also
became a war zone for nine African American students. Overall, the segregation in U.S. did insult
many world leaders during the 1950s. According to Joel Spring in the Deculturalization and the
Struggle for Equality, it was a big mistake for the U.S. Supreme Court to declare the segregation of
schools constitutional. Under the segregation laws, many minor students struggled to receive a good
education. The southern state governments passed the laws around the federal laws to restrict the
educational rights of all minor students. When the U.S. Supreme Court tried to end the segregation,
the nation faced the resistance from the segregationists. The segregation of school was not over until
the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In addition, the courts ruled that the Brown vs. Board of Education
decision apply to all school in U.S. Like all minor students, Melba Beals was one of the victims of
segregation. When Beal attended Central High School, she was very angry and disappointed with the
Central High students.

Violence In East Of Eden
In the novel East of Eden, by John Steinbeck, two main characters, Cathy and Adam, both commit acts
of violence, but in different ways. Cathy is a prostitute who killed her parents and left her husband,
Adam, to take care of their children, Caleb and Aron. Adam stuck around with the twins, but he was
there for them mentally leaving them with their housekeeper Lee. This caused the boys to endure the
pain of having parents not around for them during their childhood. At a first glance, Cathy s actions
were obviously more terrifying and vicious than what Adam had done, but this does not mean they
were more violent. Adam s lack of presence in Caleb and Aron s lives led to more devastating long
term effects, creating more far reaching and longer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both circumstances, they were being quietly neglected and not receiving equality from the
surrounding communities. If the United States is a family and everyone is supposed to be treated
equal, than the mistreatment of a group in that family would cause chaos and disorder just like it did in
the Trask family. Adam s withdrawal was more violent than Cathy s actions because of the ripple
effects it caused. Cathy killed her family and poisoned her boss, but the pain she caused was fleeting.
Adam, on the other, created a more discreet violence because even he did not directly murder his
community, he created mental disturbance in his children which ultimately killed Aron. In the novel,
two kinds of violence were shown. One is the kind that is instantaneous and visible, and the other is
the kind that lingers and affects others for generations and lifetimes. The nature of Adam s violence
lingered and infected Caleb and Aron during the course of their lives and even though it may not be as
inhumane as burning his own parents such as Cathy did, the withdrawal was more violent in that the
pain managed to stay with them for

The Effect Of Enzymes On The Concentration Of A Protein
Enzymes are catalysts that speed up chemical reactions without being used up in the process (Leady).
A catalyst helps speed up a chemical reaction without being changed during the reaction. Enzymes are
specific meaning that they can work with only a specific set of chemical reactions. Most enzyme
names end in ase. The shape of a protein is very important in its function for the reaction. The
molecule the enzyme works on is called a substrate. In order for this enzyme to work on this reaction
the substrate must first fit into an activation site. When an enzyme binds to its substrate, it is called an
enzyme substrate complex. The resulting chemicals from the reaction are called the products.
Enzymes can be affected by a few variables such as pH and temperature. All enzymes work best at a
specific temperature in the reaction to work. About an average human, enzymes work greatly at 98.6
Fahrenheit or 37.5 Celsius (Effect). The lower the temperatures are the slower the enzyme works. At
low temperatures, the enzyme does not work as well because there is not enough movement between
the molecules to have the substrate, and the enzyme meets and binds together. The higher
temperatures can cause a denature of an enzyme. This means that enzyme shape is changing making
the enzyme inactive. The reason is that enzymes are proteins that are made up of amino acids and at
high temperatures the hydrogen bonds break which then uncoils the protein and stops its function
(Enzymes). In

My Job Shadow At West Liberty Middle School
I had my job shadow at West Liberty Middle School and I chose this school because I have been there
previously. I spent the whole day at this school and learned a lot throughout the day. I am a family
friend with the teacher who teaches seventh and eight grade English. Although I do not plan to teach
middle school I still enjoy and learn a lot going to this school, because there s a very diverse group of
students from my different backgrounds. I feel like shadowing this school is much more realistic to the
difficulties I may encounter as a teacher, therefore I benefit from shadowing this teacher and school.
There were many take a ways that I encountered through this shadow. There were many students that
had learning disabilities and even students that English is their second language. I was able to watch
how these students learned through a teacher helper. This stood out to me because in most schools
when a student doesn t know English or is struggling with a certain topic of area they learn the
material in a different classroom rather than in the normal classroom. I thought that this was very
interested how they implemented this into the classroom setting. There was an interpreter in the
classroom and there were six students that could not speak English. They sat in a group while the
teacher continued as normal and the interpreter would translate. I thought that this school in particular
does a very good job at including and teaching for students that need extra help or

Black Of Black And Black Americans
One aspect of life for black people in the United States of America that has always remained
consistent is white racial hostility. A history of slavery, segregation, unequal protection of the law, and
second class citizenship inflicted by a white power structure that dominates on a national level has
created a harmful reality for black people. Every aspect of black public life must either be under the
control of or in opposition to white supremacy. Every state sanctioned institution works to use black
bodies as tools for the production of capital in any form, yet simultaneously exploits and maltreats
black people so that they cannot fully participate in and benefit from the systems which they are
indoctrinated to invest in. White America leverages its money, comfort, and tyranny on Black
America. It is for this reason that separate spaces are not merely essential to the viability of black
counter publics but inherent to their existence, since black involvement in white spaces and systems
typically leads to black assimilation or marginalization. Within these black counter publics, hip hop
and mass connection through new media forms direct attention and allow for personal expression
which shapes black worldview and public opinion, but this simply makes black people more
comfortable with their oppression and less involved in politics.
Black counter publics first emerged at the end of the Civil War during Reconstruction, a time period
when black agency and involvement in

A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel García Márquez
Sympathy between humans stretches a far distance, but for other beings more extraordinary
compassion is thrown away at the first sight of difference. Between the two supernatural beings in
Gabriel Marquez s A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , one gets more kindness and awe from the
ordinary people because of her human origins; while the other supernatural being, an old man with
wings, is mistreated. The differences between the two being s origins portray human nature and its
detriments. That is the human nature Marquez portrays in the villagers treatment of the two
paranormal beings. Treatment of supernatural beings by humans depends on an explanation of their
origin and how they came about. The man with wings is the first supernatural being introduced in the
story. He is found washed ashore by the main character, Pelayo. After consulting a wise woman,
Pelayo is told that he has found an angel. The wise woman proceeds to tell Pelayo that he should club
the Angel to death, as angels are seen as ...fugitive survivors of a spiritual conspiracy... (Marquez).
Pelayo decides to consult a priest before taking action against the angel. When the priest arrives, he
speaks to the angel in Latin. Validity in the angel arises when the ... priest had his first suspicion of an
imposter when he saw that he did not understand the language of God or know how to greet His
ministers. (Marquez). The priest examined the angel more in depth, and noticed that his interpretation

The Lives of Others Essay
Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck s film The Lives of Other s (2005) is set in East Berlin during the
socialist reign from November 1984, up until the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989. The political context
plays a significance role not only in the film s subject matter but also in its cinematography, which
exploits the voyeuristic tendencies of the audience, reflecting the surveillance of the Stasi Secret
Police officers. The film follows a loyal socialist and playwright, Georg Dreyman who becomes
subject (along with actor girlfriend Christa Maria Sieland) to extensive Stasi surveillance due to his

Within the swish pan, the audience can briefly see the reflection of Grubitz in the mirror, although this

Adjusting to Cultural Change
Adjusting to cultural change: How U.S. business men and women have to adjust to various cultural
changers to succeed in the international market.
Abstract
Culture inevitably influences the needs and desires of consumers of particular countries and socialized
groups, consequently, businesses, in order to succeed have to be aware of cultural interests and target
their products and operations to cultural demands. Succeeding necessitates knowing the factors that
crisscross with the other culture and understanding the other culture s practices in regards to these
factors. It also requires an understanding of ethical practices of the other culture as well as their
communication style amongst other factors. The business wishes to win customer trust and this too,
hinges, on cultural constructs. In short, the goal of standardization has given place to mastery of cross
cultural communication. This is the challenge for the American corporation that does business on a
global scale.
Introduction
Culture, inevitably, influences the needs and desires of consumers of particular countries and
socialized groups, consequently, businesses, in order to succeed have to be aware of cultural interests
and target their products and operations to cultural demands. There is a certain collective
programming of the mind that operates in each and every culture and this cognitive programming or

West Transformation In The Late Nineteenth Century
3. How and why was the West transformed in the late nineteenth century? How did these changes
affect the people living in the West? How did the changes in the West transform America? In the late
nineteenth century, the rise of an industrial America took the country by storm. New innovations, and
the development of steel manufacturing, petroleum refining, and the expansion of railroads, changed
the nation s economy and the lifestyle of the people. The names of Andrew Carnegie, John D.
Rockefeller, and J.P. Morgan became widely known. This industrial boom introduced a new class of
wealthy industrialist and a well off middle class. Unfortunately, farmers began to struggle immensely
during this time; the prices for farm produce began to fall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, the stock market crash triggered this event, however the vastly poor distribution of wealth, the
wages of industrial workers, and the profitless work of farmers all added up to this downfall. In
addition, high tariffs set by the U.S. made it difficult for foreign nations to sell goods to them and to
buy goods in return. And to make things better, banks were failing and in result wiping out life savings
of hundreds of people. The last straw was drawn when the stock market hesitated and investors began
to sell their stocks for fear of what could happen. Brokers jammed the stocks as they attempted to
unload shares. This grave dip became a panic that would be known as black Thursday. The following
Tuesday all stocks had lost six sevenths of their value, and it would be appropriately called black
Tuesday. With thousands of people s life savings gone overnight, the economy suffered immensely.
Due to the lack of money people began to stop buying goods. To make up for the lack of revenue,
businesses laid off countless workers to decrease the price of their outputs. This only furthered the
issue into a never ending cycle. People now without jobs could not afford goods, and businesses
continued to lay off its workers to stay profitable. Millions of Americans lived in poverty at this time,
many unable to buy the

Love And Love Essay
LOVE HATE I. INTRODUCTION As we grow up in life, we grow up with the understanding that we
are loved or to give love. Sometimes that love turns into hate depending on the circumstances which it
involves. As Christians, we are taught to show and give love to all and not to hate anyone. God directs
us to teach others to do the same. With that being said, love and hate have an enormous amount of
meaning that can be explained in a Theological, Biblical and Practical manner.
II. PART ONE
LOVE
A. Theological Definition The theological meaning of love in the bible is expressed equal throughout.
According to the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, it describes love as, Love to both God
and man is fundamental to true religion, whether as expressed in the Old Testament or the New
Testament. (International Standard Bible Encyclopedia Online). Therefore, as Christians we ... Show

As Christians, we are to give and show love to Jesus Christ, others and ourselves. Love is sometimes
very hard to express when you have pain against someone or something. In which, this can turn into
hate or dislike. Hate or hatred is the inner most pain or anguish you have towards someone or
something. When you at this point you need to turn it to God and ask for help with those feelings.
Each feeling, whether it be love or hate comes from a source like good and evil. This comparison is
just like God and Satan. God loves all and shows it daily to us, where Satan is the opposite. He
demonstrates how to motivate us with burdensome and struggles. We need always to remember that
those inner thoughts or feelings are sinful. It says in John 3:16, For God so loved the world so much
that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not die but have eternal life
(American Bible Society, 954). Apply Gods word to your lives and accept the hatred from within and

things were obvious in his very entertaining presentation. We saw Chiswick House; this is a William
Kemp designed garden. Syon House, the London home of the Dukes of Northumberland; the house
was stunning inside. The conservatory is one of the best preserved in the UK. Glorious landscapes
designed by Capability Brown, this year we celebrate 300 years since his birth. Beautiful scenes
showing hundreds of daffodils, magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas. There is such a huge

The next visit was to the home of Count Calheiro, incredible views with the gardens and vineyard in

The garden has lots of colour; one of the many features is a lovely lake complete with white swans.
Many follies like the goat house, the duck house and a tea room. Most of the gardens have peacocks.
They paid a visit to the home of Gertrude Jekyll, for George s group this this was like a pilgrimage as
they were all very keen garden lovers. She is responsible for what we now call a cottage garden. Next
on the list was the magnificent Nymans Garden, George called it a cottage garden on steroids, this is
top of the list of gardens to visit in the UK. We saw Gravetye Manor, this is now a very exclusive
hotel and the garden has been transformed. On to Wisely garden on the outskirts of London and then
to magnificent Sissinghurst Castle, the third most visited garden in England. The roses which clad the
castle were in bloom and the aquilegias were huge. I must mention the spectacular carpets of bluebells
in many of these gardens, in some cases spectacular drifts to the water s edge. Many of these gardens

Software Architecture and Software Design
1.Introduction
Scenario
A software design must be produced to support a number of self service stations for a small
supermarket (stand alone, not part of a national chain). This will involve interaction with various
hardware devices, the main aim is to design and evaluate a suitable architecture and at least a simple
demonstration mock up of the system should be implemented.
The aims and business drivers of the project are to:
Develop a self service system that is safe and usable using ASP.net
Incorporate process customer payment
Determine how the system will interact with various hardware devices
Use the multi tier structure for the system s architecture

Contradictions In Othello Research Paper
In the book Othello written by William Shakespeare, there are many characters who seem to show
contradiction in the way they act and talk. Contradiction is when there is a series of stamens and ideas
that oppose to one another. There are also character pairs who are contradictions. Shakespeare puts
contradictions in all his plays to make ether intensity of the play arise. Usually contradiction is found
with in a topic, in a conversation, and in pairs however in this play Shakespeare shows contradiction
with in a character. More specifically Othello. Othello is a complex and a contradictory character and
therefore his individual personality should be looked at and taken into consideration when proving his
contradictions. Othello is a character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like the love between Othello and Desdemona. They show contradictions in many ways through
their love, as each character sees them differently just like Iago and Rodrigo. Because they don t like
Othello they focus a lot on his skin colour while the rest of the characters especially the duke sees
Othello as a great, brave military leader. The people like Iago, Rodrigo, Emilia and Barbanzio all look
at Desdemona as a pure white dove and when they see Othello they think of him as animal like a
Barbary Horse (1:1:112). The other contradiction shown in their relationship is that Desdemona went
against the rule that they had back then and choose Othello even though he is black instead of
choosing a white man. This is a big contradiction that is shown because back then that wasn t normal
for people to do that and Desdemona being the sweet innocent girl that people presume her to be
shows contradiction in a big way because it shows that Desdemona is not so sweet after all and breaks
the rules. Othello has become a puppet of Iago and believes everything that Iago tells him. In this case
Iago mentioned that Desdemona doesn t love Othello anymore and is cheating on him because he is
black, older, and has very rude manors As, to be bold with you,/Not to affect many proposèd

Portuguese, Spanish, And Spanish Colonization Of America
There are many differences in the way that the Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English colonized
their land. Their land was either colonized for trade, profit, and religious freedom. The colonization of
their land came with diligent work due to the fact that when colonizing most did not succeed on their
first try. There are struggles with opposing colonies trying to fight over land that both places want for
themselves. The best part about this is the land they receive can be used for valued goods.
The Spanish colonization all began with Columbus in 1492 and advancing for nearly 350 years. Spain
conquered and settled most of South America and the Caribbean. Accordingly, it all started when
Columbus had been searching for a new route to the Indies. Columbus was sure that he had found it,
so he continued his voyages. Settlements by the Spanish that were found earlier were on the islands of
the Caribbean. On Columbus s fourth and final voyage in he found a large canoe off the coast of what
is now Honduras filled with trade goods. He boarded the canoe and rifled through the cargo which
included cacao beans, copper, flint axes, copper bells, pottery, and colorful cotton garments. He took
one prisoner and what he wanted from the cargo and let the canoe continue. This was the first contact
that the Spanish had with the civilizations of Central America, and this would further influence the
Spanish. Another thing that erupted was The Treaty of Tordesillas, which was an attempt

The Fives System
The FiveS system, also known as the 5S, is a organization system created at first for production
systems and then adapted by western managers for the workplace. Hiroyuki Hirano developed the
system in Japan and it is believed it lead to the very popular Just in time (JIT) manufacturing. For
example, major brands like Toyota have been using this system successfully for years. 5S is based on
the phrase a place for everything and everything in its place. (Byrne) Meaning that the workplace
should have everything you need, when you need it. In the workplace, it is believed that the
environment is key into the employee s behaviors. For example, if your mind is clear and you don t

In my experience as a student, I learned that organization and order are essential for me to achieve my
goals and getting everything done on time. Without a clean organized desk, I can t do my assignments
as fast and efficient as I would if it was. That is because I will waste time cleaning and finding
resources and also I will be paying attention to other things that I shouldn t. In any organization, the
principle is the same because we have the same human behavior. Based on that, it is clear that
implementing the 5S system is very positive for organizations and it is a key concept in organizational
behavior. Pillars The FiveS system is based on five pillars mentioned above. It is important to know
that the system is cyclical, meaning every step follows another and has to be done in the right order
for it to work. Figure 1 shows a good diagram of how the system works and how the last S, sustain,
makes sure that the steps keep going and improving. If done correctly, it should result in continuous
improvement of the organization s workplace. The first pillar, called Sort, relates to elimination of
everything in the workplace that is unnecessary to the employee s tasks. This will create opening of
workspace that could be used better, as well as eliminate unnecessary or broken tools that would slow
down employee tasks. There are several methods to achieve this, the most popular being red tagging .
This method involves sorting through the items in the

The Elder Sister
Located in our local museum of Fine Arts here in Houston, Texas the painting The Elder Sister done
by the famous painter William Adolphe Bouguereau in 1869 is known at the museum for being an
anonymous gift given to the museum in the year 1992. When one take a trip to the museum to view
this painting one gets this feeling of adoration. The painting between the two siblings gives out a
caring and calm perspective. A reason one can get this feeling of the painting created by Bouguereau
is because it shows on how the elder sister has the passion of caring for her younger sibling. Her small
smile painted on her face and her hold to her younger sibling shows the love she has. Including the
look in her eyes that has a straight glance to the art viewers shows the care and loving emotion.
Including as if her eyesight was showing one the same love and carefulness affection she shows the
younger child in her arms known as her sibling. One as an individual can see that Bouguereau

My Personality Assessment Of Personality Assessments
ENFJ My Personality Assessment Jacqueline Perez Hicks Oklahoma Wesleyan University ENFJ My
Personality Assessment Personality assessments can serve as valuable tools to determine personality
types, and subsequently allow us to understand certain behavior patterns. My own personality
assessment revealed that I have an ENFJ personality type; I am an extrovert; have a preference of
intuition over sensing; have a preference of feeling versus thinking; and have a preference of judging
over perceiving (Jung, n.d.). The results of my assessment were quite revealing, mostly accurate, with
room for interpretation. Real time circumstances and the environment have a direct impact on my
behavior. According to Revelle and Condon (2015) People differ from themselves on a moment to
moment basis in that they do not think, feel or act the same all the time. They change in their feelings,
in their thoughts, in their desires and in their actions. In this summary I will present the parallels I
discovered between the results of my assessment and the personality traits I feel I possess. I will also
present my strengths and weaknesses as they relate to each personality type code, E, N, F, and J, and
how my preferences in how I think and behave, can both positively and negatively impact my
environment. Extraversion I would classify myself as extremely extraverted and feel quite comfortable
in all settings, and in either large or small groups. I

The Salem Witch Trials For The Puritan Community
Texas Tech University A Town Submerged in Hysteria Cornelius Asmerom History To 1877 Professor
Corye Beene October 23, 2014 The Salem Witch Trials The Salem Witch Trials were a devastating
time period in 1692 for the Puritan community which resulted in 20 innocent people executed.
Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts 9 years before the Puritans landed in Massachusetts Bay.
Puritans wanted to purify the Church of England and ultimately strive to build a utopian society. John
Winthrope who was the first governor of the Massachusetts bay colony described this society as a city
upon a hill . This city upon a hill was not going to achieve itself on its own once the Puritans got to
Massachusetts Bay. The type of government enforced within their community was a theocracy,
meaning that God is the true leader of society, and he expressed his action and will through men and
women. This required the community to attend church daily, and if you did not show up people would
come and look for you. This outdated form of government enforced and allowed the sexist practices of
women because of the strong belief that women were susceptible to the Devils charm. Women had no
legal or property rights, marrying as a teenager and having many kids was the their life. This
community did not tolerate nonconformity, everyone did the same thing and acted the same way. Anne
Hutchinson was a victim of the strict beliefs of the Puritans. Anne Hutchinson was arrested for heresy

his wife who had no conscious at all, having no shame in any of the actions she under took during the

Lonesome Dove Analysis
Lonesome Dove is a story in the western genre written by Larry McMurty. The book was published in
1985 and was the first book of a tetralogy, but third in chronology. The book is about a strenuous cattle
drive from Texas to Montana. Lonesome Dove was a wholesome and interesting book that engages
your curiosity from the beginning to the end. In the beginning of the story they are in a small south
Texas town called lonesome Dove, where the two main characters Augustus McCrae and Woodrow
Call had settled down and started a livery stable after being famous Texas rangers. The journey starts
off after Jake Spoon rides into town talking about Montana and the untapped potential. That is what
sets them off on their journey driving cattle from Texas to Montana. As their journey began they had
many dilemmas, but I would say their first dilemma was the death of Sean O Brien a young Irish man
found with his brother Allen O Brien when they collected the cattle for the drive. That part of the story
was the first major event of the story driving fear in many of the crew. As the drive went north, so did
Jake spoon, who brought along a woman by the name of Lorena Wood. Lorena is a major character in
the story as she is a love interest of both Augustus McCrae, Jake Spoon ,and desired by many. The
story had an interesting offshoot that involved a sheriff from fort smith, Arkansas by the name of July
Johnson. This story begins with Jake Spoon who was in fort smith gambling when he got into a

Simple And Fractional Distillation Of A Binary Mixture
Experiment 1: Simple and Fractional Distillation of a Binary Mixture
Charles Nyberg
Gilbert Immanuel and Rachel Zigelsky
Mussie Gide Introduction Distillation is process that utilizes the differences in boiling points and
vapor pressures of different components of mixtures. When a substance is heated to a specific
temperature, it begins to boil and vaporize. Distillation allows for the mixture to be separated by
initially becoming gas and then condensing back to a liquid in a separate vial. Dalton s law states that
all the partial pressures of the chemicals in a container equal the total pressure of the substance.1 The
relationship between the pressures of the liquid and vapor above the liquid is defined as Raoult s Law.
Raoult s Law states that the solute and solvent molecules of an ideal solution interact together just as
they would separately, thus creating a solution that evenly mixes and distills.2 However when Raoult s
Law cannot apply, the mixture is considered an azeotrope. Any substance that cannot completely be on
its own is considered an azeotrope.3
Two different types of distillations can be performed to achieve a perfect separation of a mixture. The
first is a simple distillation where a liquid mixture is heated and the compound with the lower boiling
point will be the first to vaporize, travel through the distillation apparatus where cold water condenses
the gas back into a separate container without any of the higher boiling point compound. The

Living During The Neolithic Period
Domestic versus wild is a separation seen during the Neolithic period. We see hunters slowly progress
into hunters and gathers and then we see an advancement of the people starting to live in permanent
houses and communities. The evidence of this change is seen through the artwork found of the
Neolithic period. We see a transformation from the people following their food to settling down,
producing their own food and starting to view their settlements as their own. They go from, as one
may say, being one with the earth and following nature whether it is following food or climate
changes into developing a culture, small establishments, and creating communities. There were many

  • 2. Civil War Spies Male and female spies were essential sources of information during the Civil War. The best spies were people you would never suspect. Spies were brave, faceless and they knew the environment very well. Their presence was incredibly excepted. Whether they dressed as men and joined the army, posed as mindless slaves, or just kept their ears opens in collective circles, spies provided necessary information. It was even a woman spy who provided Union battle plans to Confederate Army, which allowed them to win the First Battle of Manassass (First Bull Run). On August 15, 1862, he was arrested, taken to Richmond for trial, and sentenced to hang. He was arrested after sinking the ferry supplying Fort Hudson, Georgia. On September 25, 1863 Spencer Kellogg Brown was hanged. Spencer once said before his dreadful death, Did you ever pass through a tunnel under a mountain? My passage, my death is dark, but beyond all is light and bright. George Curtis, another first rate spy, was living in New York at the beginning of the Civil War, and he joined a New York Infantry Regiment. He then became a Pinkerton agent, and a tremendous spy. He was selected in 1862 to obtain information from Richmond. He made his way to the Confederate capital as a contraband merchant selling gun caps, ammunition, and the much needed quinine. The day after reaching Virginia he was taken to the Confederate lines and to an audience with Lt. General Ambrose Powell Hill. General Hill gave him a pass to go on to Richmond and also asked Curtis if he would carry some dispatches as well. Curtis gladly agreed to carry out his chore. When Curtis reached Richmond he was introduced to Confederate Secretary of War Judah Benjamin where he negotiated for the delivery of his contraband goods and received a pass to move in and out of Richmond freely. ... • 3. Fice Of Child Protective Services History tells us that child abuse and neglect have been present in the United States since its origination. In an attempt to help prevent this from happening and supply aid to those in need, the federal government created The Office of Child Protective Services. The Office of Child Protective Services provides several functions for the Family Services Division of the Department of Human Resources. The child protective services includes maintaining the Central Registry on Child Abuse and Neglect, applying for and monitoring grants for protective services projects and providing case consultation services. • 5. Disadvantages Of Driverless Cars I m on my way! you tell your friend over the phone as you step into your car. I ll be there in half an hour! You sit down and buckle up, absentmindedly opening the alarm app on your phone. You set it to wake you up in thirty minutes, then relax into your seat, turn on the radio, and close your eyes. How is this possible? Technology has advanced incredibly quickly over the last hundred years, with developments such as the Internet and the smart phone. Along with this technology has come a lot of developments in the robotics industry. Robotic surgeons, controlled by professionals, have hands much steadier and more precise than a human could ever hope to mimick, increasing safety and decreasing recovery time for surgery patients. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sensors like these protect against most accidents already, and make up for any amount of human error that might put a driver in some amount of peril. The ultrasonic sensors tell the car whether or not there are bumps on the road, or if it s approaching a curb, something a human is not always capable of doing, and the lidar on top identifies lane markers and the edges of the road by bouncing light off of them. Sensors on self driving cars take out all the guess work usually involved in driving a car out of the equation. While all of these sensors work together to steer the car away from danger, occasionally, says Olivia Solon, data amassed by all the sensors can conflict with each other, resulting in a dangerous situation referred to as sensor fusion. This fusion of sensors has already resulted in a fatal crash involving a tester of a self driving Tesla car; the sensors produced conflicting data, and as a result mistook a truck for an overhead road sign, causing the car to run directly into the truck. Therefore, while these numerous sensors are instrumental to the driverless car, they are still in development and not yet safe to trust with human lives. GPS tracking and positioning is also incorporated into every automated car, for the self evident purpose of informing driver and car where they are and where they re going. Some cars ... Beals and eight other students were brave enough to attend Little Rock Central High School, the highly segregated school in Arkansas in 1957. Despite the many objections from the segregationists and the Governor Faubus, the nine students were able to complete the school year. During the school year of 1957 1958, Melba and eight other African American students received tremendous harassments from the Central High students, parents, administrators, and segregationists. For the estimate, the safety of these nine students did cost the federal government more than a million. In addition, NAACP fought many legal suits in the courts with the segregationists. Many civil right leaders criticized the Little Rock crisis nationally. The segregation in public school did take away the quality, the advantages, and the rights of education from all minor students. The Little Rock crisis also became a war zone for nine African American students. Overall, the segregation in U.S. did insult many world leaders during the 1950s. According to Joel Spring in the Deculturalization and the Struggle for Equality, it was a big mistake for the U.S. Supreme Court to declare the segregation of schools constitutional. Under the segregation laws, many minor students struggled to receive a good education. The southern state governments passed the laws around the federal laws to restrict the educational rights of all minor students. When the U.S. Supreme Court tried to end the segregation, the nation faced the resistance from the segregationists. The segregation of school was not over until the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In addition, the courts ruled that the Brown vs. Board of Education decision apply to all school in U.S. Like all minor students, Melba Beals was one of the victims of segregation. • 9. Violence In East Of Eden In the novel East of Eden, by John Steinbeck, two main characters, Cathy and Adam, both commit acts of violence, but in different ways. Cathy is a prostitute who killed her parents and left her husband, Adam, to take care of their children, Caleb and Aron. Adam stuck around with the twins, but he was there for them mentally leaving them with their housekeeper Lee. This caused the boys to endure the pain of having parents not around for them during their childhood. At a first glance, Cathy s actions were obviously more terrifying and vicious than what Adam had done, but this does not mean they were more violent. Adam s lack of presence in Caleb and Aron s lives led to more devastating long term effects, creating more far reaching and longer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both circumstances, they were being quietly neglected and not receiving equality from the surrounding communities. If the United States is a family and everyone is supposed to be treated equal, than the mistreatment of a group in that family would cause chaos and disorder just like it did in the Trask family. Adam s withdrawal was more violent than Cathy s actions because of the ripple effects it caused. Cathy killed her family and poisoned her boss, but the pain she caused was fleeting. Adam, on the other, created a more discreet violence because even he did not directly murder his community, he created mental disturbance in his children which ultimately killed Aron. In the novel, two kinds of violence were shown. One is the kind that is instantaneous and visible, and the other is the kind that lingers and affects others for generations and lifetimes. The nature of Adam s violence lingered and infected Caleb and Aron during the course of their lives and even though it may not be as inhumane as burning his own parents such as Cathy did, the withdrawal was more violent in that the pain managed to stay with them for ... • 10. The Effect Of Enzymes On The Concentration Of A Protein Enzymes are catalysts that speed up chemical reactions without being used up in the process (Leady). A catalyst helps speed up a chemical reaction without being changed during the reaction. Enzymes are specific meaning that they can work with only a specific set of chemical reactions. Most enzyme names end in ase. The shape of a protein is very important in its function for the reaction. The molecule the enzyme works on is called a substrate. In order for this enzyme to work on this reaction the substrate must first fit into an activation site. When an enzyme binds to its substrate, it is called an enzyme substrate complex. The resulting chemicals from the reaction are called the products. Enzymes can be affected by a few variables such as pH and temperature. All enzymes work best at a specific temperature in the reaction to work. About an average human, enzymes work greatly at 98.6 Fahrenheit or 37.5 Celsius (Effect). The lower the temperatures are the slower the enzyme works. At low temperatures, the enzyme does not work as well because there is not enough movement between the molecules to have the substrate, and the enzyme meets and binds together. The higher temperatures can cause a denature of an enzyme. This means that enzyme shape is changing making the enzyme inactive. The reason is that enzymes are proteins that are made up of amino acids and at high temperatures the hydrogen bonds break which then uncoils the protein and stops its function (Enzymes). In ... I spent the whole day at this school and learned a lot throughout the day. I am a family friend with the teacher who teaches seventh and eight grade English. Although I do not plan to teach middle school I still enjoy and learn a lot going to this school, because there s a very diverse group of students from my different backgrounds. I feel like shadowing this school is much more realistic to the difficulties I may encounter as a teacher, therefore I benefit from shadowing this teacher and school. There were many take a ways that I encountered through this shadow. There were many students that had learning disabilities and even students that English is their second language. I was able to watch how these students learned through a teacher helper. This stood out to me because in most schools when a student doesn t know English or is struggling with a certain topic of area they learn the material in a different classroom rather than in the normal classroom. I thought that this was very interested how they implemented this into the classroom setting. There was an interpreter in the classroom and there were six students that could not speak English. They sat in a group while the teacher continued as normal and the interpreter would translate. • 12. Black Of Black And Black Americans One aspect of life for black people in the United States of America that has always remained consistent is white racial hostility. A history of slavery, segregation, unequal protection of the law, and second class citizenship inflicted by a white power structure that dominates on a national level has created a harmful reality for black people. Every aspect of black public life must either be under the control of or in opposition to white supremacy. Every state sanctioned institution works to use black bodies as tools for the production of capital in any form, yet simultaneously exploits and maltreats black people so that they cannot fully participate in and benefit from the systems which they are indoctrinated to invest in. White America leverages its money, comfort, and tyranny on Black America. It is for this reason that separate spaces are not merely essential to the viability of black counter publics but inherent to their existence, since black involvement in white spaces and systems typically leads to black assimilation or marginalization. Within these black counter publics, hip hop and mass connection through new media forms direct attention and allow for personal expression which shapes black worldview and public opinion, but this simply makes black people more comfortable with their oppression and less involved in politics. Black counter publics first emerged at the end of the Civil War during Reconstruction, a time period when black agency and involvement in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings by Gabriel García Márquez Sympathy between humans stretches a far distance, but for other beings more extraordinary compassion is thrown away at the first sight of difference. Between the two supernatural beings in Gabriel Marquez s A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , one gets more kindness and awe from the ordinary people because of her human origins; while the other supernatural being, an old man with wings, is mistreated. The differences between the two being s origins portray human nature and its detriments. That is the human nature Marquez portrays in the villagers treatment of the two paranormal beings. Treatment of supernatural beings by humans depends on an explanation of their origin and how they came about. The man with wings is the first supernatural being introduced in the story. He is found washed ashore by the main character, Pelayo. After consulting a wise woman, Pelayo is told that he has found an angel. The people like Iago, Rodrigo, Emilia and Barbanzio all look at Desdemona as a pure white dove and when they see Othello they think of him as animal like a Barbary Horse (1:1:112). The other contradiction shown in their relationship is that Desdemona went against the rule that they had back then and choose Othello even though he is black instead of choosing a white man. • 33. Lonesome Dove Analysis Lonesome Dove is a story in the western genre written by Larry McMurty. The book was published in 1985 and was the first book of a tetralogy, but third in chronology. The book is about a strenuous cattle drive from Texas to Montana. Lonesome Dove was a wholesome and interesting book that engages your curiosity from the beginning to the end. In the beginning of the story they are in a small south Texas town called lonesome Dove, where the two main characters Augustus McCrae and Woodrow Call had settled down and started a livery stable after being famous Texas rangers. The journey starts off after Jake Spoon rides into town talking about Montana and the untapped potential. That is what sets them off on their journey driving cattle from Texas to Montana. As their journey began they had many dilemmas, but I would say their first dilemma was the death of Sean O Brien a young Irish man found with his brother Allen O Brien when they collected the cattle for the drive. That part of the story was the first major event of the story driving fear in many of the crew. As the drive went north, so did Jake spoon, who brought along a woman by the name of Lorena Wood. Lorena is a major character in the story as she is a love interest of both Augustus McCrae, Jake Spoon ,and desired by many. The story had an interesting offshoot that involved a sheriff from fort smith, Arkansas by the name of July Johnson. This story begins with Jake Spoon who was in fort smith gambling when he got into a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Simple And Fractional Distillation Of A Binary Mixture Experiment 1: Simple and Fractional Distillation of a Binary Mixture Charles Nyberg Gilbert Immanuel and Rachel Zigelsky Mussie Gide Introduction Distillation is process that utilizes the differences in boiling points and vapor pressures of different components of mixtures. When a substance is heated to a specific temperature, it begins to boil and vaporize. Distillation allows for the mixture to be separated by initially becoming gas and then condensing back to a liquid in a separate vial. Dalton s law states that all the partial pressures of the chemicals in a container equal the total pressure of the substance.1 The relationship between the pressures of the liquid and vapor above the liquid is defined as Raoult s Law. Raoult s Law states that the solute and solvent molecules of an ideal solution interact together just as they would separately, thus creating a solution that evenly mixes and distills.2 However when Raoult s Law cannot apply, the mixture is considered an azeotrope. Any substance that cannot completely be on its own is considered an azeotrope.3 Two different types of distillations can be performed to achieve a perfect separation of a mixture. The first is a simple distillation where a liquid mixture is heated and the compound with the lower boiling point will be the first to vaporize, travel through the distillation apparatus where cold water condenses the gas back into a separate container without any of the higher boiling point compound. Some obstacles are facile and are easy to overcome, but others are more laborious and require additional thinking. One thing that we know is that there is ice on Mars. However, the ice we know is not made up of water, but it consists of carbon dioxide. It also snows carbon dioxide. One clue of water is on some craters where you can see signs of water that has once gone down the slopes. When we are on Mars, we will need water. • 38. Living During The Neolithic Period Domestic versus wild is a separation seen during the Neolithic period. We see hunters slowly progress into hunters and gathers and then we see an advancement of the people starting to live in permanent houses and communities. The evidence of this change is seen through the artwork found of the Neolithic period. We see a transformation from the people following their food to settling down, producing their own food and starting to view their settlements as their own. They go from, as one may say, being one with the earth and following nature whether it is following food or climate changes into developing a culture, small establishments, and creating communities. There were many cofactors as to why this change occurred and the evidence found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While there is evidence of rituals, beliefs behind them cannot be know for sure. Oates sates We must conclude that despite some very interesting evidence for what are certainly ritual practices we know nothing of the religion behind them (Oates, 124). Some of the interesting things that were found were the plastered skulls found at Jericho and other near by sites (LN 2/4). These skulls found were removed from the body and brought back to life with clay, plaster, shells and paint (LN 2/4). The skulls were assumed to be ancestors. There were also many burials found with clay grave goods and in Sumarran Choga Mami there were indications of burnings in the corners of the houses, perhaps for rituals (Oates). Some other artifacts found were female figurines, which is commonly noted as being a fertility statue or mother goddess (LN 2/11). Bro, we ve fallen down the rabbit hole or something. I know were not in Pixie Dust anymore . . . but where the heck are we Wonderland? Mason said in full meltdown mode. And . . . he glanced around like he had a twitch, I saw a flicker of movement in the water. Something s out there I can feel it, you hear me? I ll be fine though you cut out their tongues and stab them in the eyes, if they close! I did my best to calm him down. Everything s okay. Mason there s no one here. I pointed to the glass like lilac colored water. Not even a seagull soared over the sea. There were just bursts of dappled light peppering the air, reflections rippling across the deep. Besides, I inhaled the brackish air trying to soothe my nerves, what am I going to stab them with, my finger? Relax! Only serene thought are allow, I told myself listening to the soothing sound of lapping waves gently caressed the coast.
