Psychosocial Theories in Criminal Justice
PSYCHOSOCIAL THEORIES in the APPLICATION of CRIMINAL JUSTICE Mark P. Robertson
Deviant Behavior Instructor Tomasina Cook EMPIRE STATE COLLEGE July 30, 2012 There are
several Psychosocial Theories pertaining to human behavior. The relation of some of these theories
can be directly applied to the Criminal Justice field. Theories focus on why some behavior develops,
when and where the development begins, who is affected by it and may be particularly more
susceptible, what signs or behaviors to look for, and what may be done to prevent it. Psychologist
Terrie Moffitt proposed her Developmental Theory identifying two developmental paths or patterns in
which an individual may exhibit. Moffitt claims that criminal behavior can ... Show more content on

This is especially true when it involves young people. Young people/persons are quite easily
influenced, and impressionable. It is a very critical and important time in one s life, trapped
somewhere between childhood and adulthood. It is a period of extreme change, extreme choices, and
big decisions. Lack of one s own identity, confusion, and the need and desire to belong, or to fit in
somewhere, can and often does provoke irrational thought. The inability or difficulty to become
accepted by one s peers gives way to potentially bad choices. This can be especially difficult for
certain cultural, ethnic, and societal groups. For example, inner city youth (regardless of race) who
grow up in areas with higher crime rates and/or criminal activity, or lower income families (many with
only one parental figure) are by default, at higher risk of exposure to criminal activity. They in
essence, have little or almost no chance of meeting or interacting with (or being influenced by)
someone from the suburbs, or the country (rural areas), where criminal activity is lower. These inner
city youths are more frequently exposed to crime (it is sometimes all they see and know), and without
positive influence, they are more susceptible to adopt an identity relative and according to what they
experience on a regular basis. They believe that is the norm and in turn, they

Special Care Baby Unit ( Scbu )
The aim of this assignment is to describe, analyze and reflect a specific scenario throughout my time
in special care baby unit (SCBU)..
The concept of reflective practice, popularized by Schön s (1983) work, has been applied in nursing
for various purposes, including as a way to narrow the gap between theory and practice in clinical
practice(Clarke, 1986) and a way to discover knowledge embedded in practice (Benner at al. 1996).
Reflection, or thinking about our experiences, is the key to learning. Reflection allows us to analyze
our experiences, make changes based on our mistakes, keep doing what is successful, and build upon
or modify past knowledge based on new knowledge.

According to Thomas (1994), temperature control or thermoregulation in the neonate is a critical
physiological function that is strongly influenced by physical immaturity, extent of illness and
environmental factors.
St George´s Hospital guidelines suggest that the acceptable range for axial temperature is 36.6 37.2°C.
This range should be maintained at all times to allow normal physiological function and body
metabolism. The nursing diagnosis of hypothermia is the state in which an individual s body
temperature is reduced below normal range (Wilkinson, 2000, p. 205).
Term and specially pre term infants are more susceptible to become cold and hypothermic. They have
a higher body surface area to body mass ratio, higher metabolic rate with limited stores of metabolic
substrates, and limited and immature thermoregulatory behaviors, including a poorly developed
shivering response (Hackman, 2001)
It is essential that neonates are

Dunkirk Research Paper
During the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 ships from the Royal Navy as well as hundreds of civilian
ships helped to save the thousands of stranded soldiers. But one is well known, a paddle steamer
named The Medway Queen made a total of seven round trips to Dunkirk, successfully rescuing more
than 7,000 soldiers. Today, many movies have depicted different parts of World War 2, Dunkirk
directed by Christopher Nolan has caused enthusiasm about the specific event. Many movie critics
have been trying to find what s fact against what s fiction. The hit movie Dunkirk stays true to the real
life events of the evacuation in WW2. The evacuation, also known as Operation Dynamo was named
after the dynamo room that generated electricity for the British Naval Headquarters located in the
secret tunnels underneath Dover Castle (Dunkirk Movie vs. the True Story). The operation itself was
to get over 400,000 British troops that were stranded on the coast of Dunkirk, France. The thousands
of men were at a very high risk for an attack from the German air forces blitzkrieg. The film itself
focuses on a very important part of flying Pilots had to carefully conserve fuel...could only operate for

The film raised a lot of questions about the true life events, one was that if the movie stayed truer or if
it was more fiction. There were many parts of the movie that were reenactments of the evacuation, like
the attacks from the opposing air force. There was also some fiction like the characters throughout the
movie were not real people, yet some of them were loosely based around real people. One thing that
the movie depicted very well was the number of civilian ships that came to Dunkirk to help save the

Voltaire s Candide And Dostoyevsky s Notes From Underground
The vital notion of moderation was first given precise archetypal denotation by Aristotle. Aristotle
described moderation as the equilibrium between two extremes; for example, the person who never
takes any risks is frightened, while the person who consistently takes risks is reckless (Parry).
Therefore the person who is a balance of the two, not too cowardly but not too irresponsible, has
attained the impeccable balance of moderation. While there have been many brilliant works created to
provide emphasis to the importance of moderation, two philosophers in particular, Voltaire and
Dostoyevsky, have conceivably accomplished the most exemplary job of delivering evidence in
Voltaire s Candide and Dostoyevsky s Notes From Underground. Each use the two concepts of
reasoning and currency in different ways to express the importance of moderation. In contemporary
society, daring to ask a pertinent question on a social platform is feasibly one of the most daunting
tasks one can make. Riddled with a maelstrom of potentially traumatizing consequences, giving voice
to a serious enquiry over a serious subject is even more of an arduous enterprise. Still, regardless of
the details of the responses themselves, the act of asking and answering a serious question shows
something even more significant: the ability to think. In both Candide and Notes from Underground,
thought and the impact of reason are the most important concepts discussed, though Voltaire and
Dostoyevsky use different

under three different light treatments, normal, red and green light. The light treatments enhanced
certain wavelengths of light which, due to the absorption spectrum of chlorophylls a and b and
carotenoid pigments, altered the amount of photosynthesis a plant was able to perform in a certain
amount of time. Each Elodea plant was subjected to a different light treatment, one to normal light,
another to red and the third to green light while in a test tube of water for a total of two hours.
Photosynthetic processes were observed by means of water displacement in the pipette attached to the

Motorcyclist And Automobile Drivers
All too often you hear reports of a fatality due to a motorcycle accident. It is a common scenario for
any accident attorney. Often, these fatalities are caused by negligent drivers, who have a variety of
excuses from the sun was in their eyes to the biker hit their blind spot. It is a never ending story and
one that is often, quite tragic.
As any motorcycle accident attorney will tell you, it is important, as drivers, that you are constantly
aware of your surroundings and the other vehicles that are on the roadways. These vehicles include the
sometimes hard to see, motorcycles. When drivers fail to know the other vehicles and their
whereabouts on the roadways, then the result can be a fatality.
Both the motorcyclist and the automobile drivers must practice responsibility on the road. For the
motorcyclist, taking simple measure such as wearing bright colors and driving defensively will help to
ensure their safety. For the automobile driver, the simple fact of following road rules, such as the three
second rule, knowing where vehicles are at all times on the road, and driving defensively, will all help
to protect the safety of the motorcyclist on the road. It is the responsibility of the driver and the rider
to help ensure the safety on the road, which might save the motorcyclist s life. ... Show more content

Summary Of The Night Odyssey
Lost It was the summer of 1998; I was pregnant with my second child, when my two year old son, my
husband, my brother Vladimir, his girlfriend Nicole, two other couples and I went on vacation to
Brittany, France. Usually, I spent the summer in Serbia with my two grandmas and the rest of the
family. But this year, we decided to go another time to visit them. I never thought this would be one of
my most regretted decisions I have ever made. I cannot remember the name of the place where we
stayed for two weeks. The only thing I do remember is our night odyssey in Paris, how we weren t
able to find the way out through the maze tunnels to the highway which was supposed to lead us to the
no name village in Brittany. Eventually, around midday, we arrived at our house. As we were the only
ones with a child, the rest of the group treated my son like an alien whose task was to turn the nightly
rest upside down, so the banned us to the only bedroom in the first floor. In hindsight, it was the best
room of the whole house, due to the heat which emanated at night heavily from the attic rooms and
made breathing difficult. The area was beautiful, green hills everywhere; the few houses looked like
they were put into the lush meadows by a creative behemoth. Although you could not see the ocean,
the constant blowing wind carried the salty, fishy smell to your house. The fleecy clouds alternated
with the sunshine I a two day cycle. So we went sightseeing on the cloudy days, on the other, to

Meagan felt this role will influence the younger generations of actresses of color and also commend

The Death Of John F. Kennedy
On November 22, 1963, our president, John F. Kennedy, was shot and killed while riding through
Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was identified as the lone assassin hours after
thousands of Texans witnessed the horrific last shot shattering their beloved president s right temple.
Six months later, a report of the investigation was released by the Warren Commission. Unreported
findings caused the majority of America to question the accuracy of the results to what happened that
day. A plethora of theories have been published since that day and continue to surface fifty two years
later. Some believe the mob or Cuba was behind the plot. Some believe Kennedy was killed to keep
information from being exposed. Others believe it came to be a fatal error by an individual sworn in to
protect John F. Kennedy at all costs. However, most side with what the facts support. This paper will
investigate four theories that developed after the historical day Americans were brought to their knees.
One notion is that the mob used Lee Harvey Oswald as a patsy to murder John F. Kennedy. John had
taken favors from the mob to win the presidential election. In Patrick J. Kiger s article, Was Kennedy
Tied to the Mob? he describes an instance where Kennedy s mistress, Judith Campbell Exner recalls a
meeting set up between JFK and Sam Giacana. He writes, I think I may need his help in the campaign,
she claimed that Kennedy told her. Subsequently, she arranged nine other meetings in

The Effects Of Domestic Terrorism
Per the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), domestic terrorism is an offense that is intended to
influence or affect the conduct of government through intimidation or coercion. It can also be
considered as a retaliation against government conduct. Terrorism violates many statutes, including 18
U.S.C. § 2332b, § 930(c), which relates to killing or attempting to kill during the attack of a federal
facility with a dangerous weapon; and § 1114 which relates to the killing or attempted killing of
officers and employees of the U.S (FBI, 2016). To be classified as an act of domestic terrorism, the
event must contain specific criteria, such as the involvement of acts that are dangerous to human life
that are in violation of federal or state law. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While domestic terrorism usually has a strong political agenda, religion most likely drives today s
international terrorism. Terrorists involved in domestic events, clearly announce what their goals are,
while international terrorists expect us to know what their issues are. Another difference between
domestic and international terrorists is that domestic terrorists are usually acclimated to the region
they are attacking (answers).
Conclusion
While most terrorist groups generally operate under either domestic or international terrorism, PIRA is
a group that falls under both classifications. They primarily commit acts of terrorism in Ireland and the
UK, they have been known to carry out several attacks across Europe (Ward, 2015). One must

The Effects Of Stress On Our Lives
ROUGH DRAFT
Brenna Lawrason #5687561
Stress is something that people are experiencing everyday based off things occurring in our everyday
lives. Stress is different for everyone depending on what kind of situation it is brought upon which
could vary from school work, family issues, personal problems etc. The questionnaires entitled Social
Readjustment Scale (Miller Rahe, 1997) and the Lifestyle and Habits Questionnaire (Dinzeo, T.J.,
Thayasivam, U., Sledjeski, E.M., 2014) to determine what leads to high stress levels in our lives. In
the questionnaire, it describes a range of life changing events ranked from highest to lowest levels of
stress. This study that was created in 1965, their purpose was to build on the 43 original events by
adding an additional 44 events to the list. The events were duplicated the number of events to
minimize possible errors in the experiment with the overall goal to see how a group of people could
relate to similar life changing events.
High Levels of stress have a direct correlation with unhealthy behaviours affecting how our bodies
work and function. When stress is presented to people, they begin to engage in unhealthy behaviours
and activities, which lead to habits that is found to decrease in overall health. Stress within College
students is examined quite extensively to see what causes them stress, and what kind of health issues
is brought upon them. In the article entitled Stress at college: Effects on health habits, health status

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn is generally considered one of the greatest painters in European art
history and the most important in Dutch history. Rembrandt was also a proficient printmaker and
made many drawings. His contributions to art came in a period that historians call the Dutch Golden
Age (roughly equivalent to the 17th century), in which Dutch culture, science, commerce, world
power and political influence reached their pinnacles.
In all, Rembrandt produced around 600 paintings, 300 etchings, and 2,000 drawings. He was a prolific
painter of self portraits, producing almost a hundred of them (including some 20 etchings) throughout
his long career. Together they give us a remarkably clear picture of the man, his looks, and — more ...

By 1631, Rembrandt had established such a good reputation that he received several assignments for
portraits from Amsterdam. As a result, he moved to that city and into the house of an art dealer,
Hendrick van Uylenburgh. This move eventually led, in 1634, to the marriage of Rembrandt and
Hendrick s greatniece, Saskia van Uylenburg. This was obviously a marriage for love. Although she
came from a good family (her father had been burgomaster of Leeuwarden), Saskia was an orphan and
was probably not very wealthy. She lived with her sister in Frisia and did not have many grand
connections in Amsterdam. These events, however, are widely disputed.
In 1639, Rembrandt and Saskia moved to a prominent house in the Jodenbreestraat in the Jewish
quarter, which later became the Rembrandt House Museum. Although they were affluent the couple
had several setbacks in their personal life. Three of their children died shortly after birth. Only their
fourth child, a son, Titus, who was born in 1641, survived into adulthood. Saskia died in 1642 soon
after Titus s birth, probably from tuberculosis.
After her death he began an affair with Titus s nurse, a widow called Geertje Dircx. This ended in a
lawsuit. Geertje claimed that Rembrandt had broken his promise to marry her, and demanded that the
council force him to marry her. The council did not go that far but Rembrandt was asked to pay her a
lot of money. He then cooperated with Geertje s family to have her locked up in a

Marilyn Monroe Tragic Hero
The Tragedy of Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe is a timeless figure, known for her sensual yet innocent charm. Her platinum blonde
hair continues to be a popular trademark today, with other celebrities continuing to imitate her. She is
the image of Hollywood and American perfectibility. However, she was not just a beauty queen who
seemingly had the world wrapped around her finger. She was also a vulnerable woman, who severely
struggled with mental illnesses, neuroticism, and high expectations. Marilyn Monroe is an epitome of
a tragic hero, as she was the victim of a downfall caused by irreparable flaws. Monroe was born as

These titles may sound flattering to some, and maybe at times she enjoyed them. But her restrictive
Hollywood image only seemed to add to her insecurity and troubles. The sexual glorification of
Monroe stems from the constant exploitation that she has described from her earlier days in the
business. While she both despised and played to this, Marilyn Monroe would resent being typecast as
a not too smart sex symbol and would fight a very hard but ultimately losing battle to get the public to
believe that she was smarter (and less man hungry) than the women she portrayed on the silver screen
( Ten Things You Might Not Know About Marilyn Monroe. ). But why did a part of her also accept
this? Why did she have this overwhelming need to satisfy the same people who held her down? She
feared disappointing the public who put her on this pedestal and seeming imperfect. She was said to
wash her face up to 15 times a day in fear of blemishes and sweat ( Marilyn s Beauty and Style. ), and
at the 1950s Academy Awards, she burst into tears. It seems that she failed to give herself the love and
appreciation that she needed. As a result, she mistakenly turned to the camera for

The Flies Over The Philippines, Indonesia And Much Of The...
Enroute:
Enroute to Darwin the airliner flies over the Philippines, Indonesia and much of the Indian Ocean. The
flight is around 2300 nautical miles (4300km) and in the Airbus A320 travelling at approximately
430kt (800km/hr) it will take five hours and twenty minutes.
ITCZ:
This flight travels straight through the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). This is a belt of low
pressure where the northeast and southeast tradewinds meet, pushing air upwards. It is situated around
the equator but moves seasonally following the suns zenith point. The ITCZ appears as a belt of
clouds, which is responsible for the wet and dry season in the tropics. This area is also known for its
strong convective weather. Any aircrew that is travelling through this region needs to be aware of the
conditions associated with ITCZ and the relative tradewinds as it can jeopardize the safety of the
aircraft.
An active ITCZ has strong tradewinds causing solid lines of active Cumulonimbus (Cb) with other
types of clouds at higher levels. Due to the instability and predominantly vertical movement of air the
cloud development can be extreme with the tops reaching up to 55,000ft and can be some 300nm
wide. At this scale it is hard to avoid the clouds and determining whether the ITCZ is in an active or
inactive stage is hard as they develop and decay reasonably quickly. Not only will there be large cloud
formation but it will also be fairly saturated especially when over oceanic regions. An active ITCZ is

Allergen Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy and its advantages:
Allergen immunotherapy can be described as a therapeutic technique used to treat symptoms of
allergies and reduces the underlying immunological hypersensitivity (1). In this method the patients
are provided gradually increasing levels of the sensitized allergen, the dose of which is properly
administrated. Consequently the immunological response towards this allergen decreases. The issue
with the normal treatment against allergies including the anti allergy drugs and an immunomodulatory
agent such as anti IgE is that they only temporarily decrease the symptoms of the allergies, however if
the drug intake is discontinued, these symptoms are evident again (1). Contrary to the normal anti
allergy treatments, it is suggested that immunotherapy may be effective in long time remission (2, 3),
reduction in the probability of developing new sensitizations and prevention of rhinitis conversion to
asthma (4, 5). Hence suggesting that immunotherapy is a more effective way to treat allergies and
their associated response in comparison to the traditional anti allergic treatments. The two methods

The subteams continued to fall behind schedule, but the delivery date remained firm. The timeline
slippages were obvious, but almost no one was willing to discuss them openly least of all the

stress and confusion: Tensions had gotten to the point where people were actually storming out of
meetings because they were frustrated by what they were being asked to do on short notice or without
sufficient information.
In September, the U.S. core team members felt they needed to escalate their concerns. After consulting
with Carol and Mike, Frank approached Lance Paulson, the head of the Drug Safety Division.
According to Frank, Lance, who was also based in the U.S., took his concerns seriously and promised

counseling him on how to open up dialogue and communication within the core team and throughout
the project overall. Instead, Lance chose another approach. He sent an e mail message to the entire
division, not just those working on the Vigilance project. The message was sent under his name and

The precise legal details of the corporation s differ across countries. The company law of the U.K is
similar to the company law of the U.K because they share a common origin. The managers in both
countries have a fiduciary duty to the shareholders. In other words, they have a strong requirement to
act in the interests of shareholders. The channel through which shareholders exercises control of
company affairs is the board of directors. The board is elected by shareholders and typically on a one
share vote basis. Sometimes multiple classes of shares exits, the main difference between classes
being the number of votes each share has attached to it. The board of directors consists of a mix
outside directors and inside directors, the latter being the top executives of the firm. It is rare that the
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is not on the board. In both U.S and U.K the CEO often acts as
chairman as well. Once elected the board of directors of directors specifies the business policies to be
pursued by the firm. The role of management is to implement the policies determined by the board.
Shareholders have very little say in the affairs of the company beyond electing directors. For example,
it is the directors who decide on their own compensation, without any input from shareholders. A
committee of outside directors determines the senior management compensation. Except in unusual
circumstances, such as a proxy fight, the outside

How Does Richard Matheson Use Cgi In Modern Disaster Films
The use of CGI (computer generated imagery) has become a prevalent, although rather expensive
element implemented in modern films, especially of the disaster film genre. Audiences worldwide are
proving to be more difficult to amaze, and are not impressed so easily. Most moviegoers are quick
witted and even the slightest production error on screen can deter people from enjoying and
sometimes understanding the film. It is no secret that the general consensus in Hollywood is focused
to create the biggest, and most gruesome disaster situations on screen using special effects and CGI in
order to shock and awe their audiences. When studios act this way while producing a film, they often
ignore plot holes, and lack of substance in storylines in lieu ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In both films, this universal attachment to the protagonist is established, but in The Last Man on Earth
Robert eventually is hunted down by the new society of intelligient vampires who had been searching
for him after he destroyed the vampires friends and family for his experiments in hope to find a cure
for the disease. [Robert] is seen by these intelligent vampires as not only an evolutionary throw back
but a serious threat as he indiscriminately destroys vampires both monstrous and intelligent during his
daylight rampages. As the monster who comes during one s sleep, [Robert] is captured and
condemned to public execution. (Moreman). This twist in plot, creates a semi original idea that holds
true to the theme in the preceding novel, in a new society of vampires, Robert has seen himself
become a murderous human, the last of his kind. I Am Legend, however ironic as it may seem because
of the films shares the title with the novel, strays away from this ending and instead, in this storyline,
Robert finds a cure and in his final moments decides to sacrifice himself for the rest of humanity as he
knew it. Yet another Christ like reference to further instill the legend that Robert has left upon the new
wave of society. The film I Am Legend effectively encapsulated, and in some ways expanded, the

The Effects Of Video Games On Youth
A. Statement of the Research Problem:
The purpose of this research is to determine if aggressive behavior amongst the adolescent stem from
playing violent video games. In 1976, the first violent video game Death Race was released but, never
held accountable for wrong doings of the youths of that time era. It has only been in recent years that
society blames the violence within these games for the negative behaviors of youths. The graphics
within these games have consistently improved over that past few decades and now seem just as
realistic as life itself. Although, video games are more realistic than decades before, they are only one
minute factor in determining ones behavior. When determining if violent video games is a factor of
aggressive behavior , one needs to also needs to take into consideration how long that youth is playing
a particular game, is that youth being supervised as he or she is playing that particular game, what
type of social setting is involved, and etc. From bullying to high school shootings, violent video games
have been held responsible for numerous wrong doings by youths.
B. Literature Review:
Parents have been torn on whether video games impose positive or negative behaviors within our
adolescent. With new video games being created and the complexity standards being raised, the
concentration levels have increased causing the brain and hands to work harder and faster. This will
continue to help the video games through life with the handling

Identity In The Bluest Eye
To capture an event and immortalize it. The perfect way to show others the truth, to make them
understand. Stories can be redeeming, adventurous, beautiful, but one can never rest comfortably in
any one version of what happens. Stories are as likely to distort the truth as they are to reveal it. Our
perception can be blurred by the pain being felt or clouded by the love being shared. Everyone wishes
to live out a fairytale ending, but what if the story doesn t have a happy ending? What if the
immortalized moments are the ones that need to be forgotten? In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye, the
theme that love and racial identity are attached to one being perceived as beautiful leads to a
destructive and poisonous overemphasis on beauty.

Coppola s Interpretation of Dracula as a Love Story Essay
Coppola s Interpretation of Dracula as a Love Story
The protagonist and story of Bram Stoker s novel Dracula have been widely interpreted and adapted in
films throughout many years. Despite almost a century of time since the initial publication, Dracula
has maintained its ability to frighten and mesmerize readers. Francis Ford Coppola s Bram Stoker s
Dracula; however, utilizes the erotic romance of the original novel in order to depict a tragic love
story. The film accurately follows the general plot of the novel, yet presents the characters in a unique
manner that provides for a different appreciation of the characters.

This characterization of Dracula as a devoted lover was the dominant goal of Francis Ford Coppola.
James Holte states that in Bram Stoker s Dracula: The Film and the Legend, Coppola writes
Doing Justice to the complex character of Dracula was one our main goals. He s been portrayed as a
monster or as a seducer, but knowing his biography made me think of him as a fallen angel, as Satan...
Blood is the symbol of human passion, the source of all passion. I think that is the main subtext in our
story. We ve tried to depict feelings so strong they can survive across the centuries, like Dracula s love
for Mina/ Elizabeth. The idea that love can actually give back to the vampire his lost soul (Holte 82).
This portrayal of Dracula as a complex character is the basis for the differences in the presentation
between Stoker s original villain and Coppola s adaptation.
Because Coppola wanted to show Dracula more as a fallen angel equal to Satan in Milton s Paradise
Lost, the main result is pity for this representative of evil. This presentation is different from the
original novel because it lacks the balance between the reader s like and dislike of Dracula throughout
the story. In the film, the audience tends to feel sympathetic for Dracula as he struggles to find his
love. There at two moments in the movie where Dracula

problems
(1) Technology and Security issues (2) Legal issues and (3) Regulatory and Supervisory issues
The problem here is that since theOne would think that the main purpose for a bank besides managing
one s money would be giving good customer service. Excellence in customer service is the most
important tool for sustained business growth. Customer complaints are part of the business life of any
corporate entity. This is more so for banks because banks are service organizations. As a service
organization, customer service and customer satisfaction should be the prime concern of any bank.
Banks believe that by providing prompt and efficient service on to their customers, this is essential not
only to attract new customers, but also to retain existing ones because customer dissatisfaction would
spoil the bank s name and image. To provide this kind of service more fast and efficient, the major
weapon of bank is e banking.
There are several Research Design techniques that can be used to identify customer perceptions about

Analysis Of The Article On Being An Atheist
H. J McCloskey in his article, On Being an Atheist, is trying to show the readers are more reasonable
and comfortable belief than that of Christianity. In the article he also puts up an argument concerning
two theistic point of which is the cosmological and teleological argument. McCloskey also talks about
the problems resulting from all the evil in the world. He goes as far to point out this evil in a world the
God had made and blames God for it. Due to that fact and other issues, he believes that it is irrational
to live by faith. According to his work, proof is not really necessary part to play a vital role in the
belief of God. However, when it comes to providing proof concerning an atheist point of view, he has

In his work he states that believing in an uncaused first cause of the universe is a problem because
nothing in the universe brings us to that conclusion. The rationalization from cause effect understands
a relation between things that are in existence, and will pass out of existence. If God was to be taken
part of the frame of causation already in motion, then it would belong to that which would have
caused by something else. That cause holds to that which is outside the framework of causation.
Concerning the cosmological argument McCloskey writes that all we entitle to infer is the existence of
a cause commensurate with the effect to be explained, the universe, and this does not entitle us to
postulate on all powerful, all perfect uncaused cause. (McCloskey, 1968) This would be true for there
is no reason why to necessary infer a God person. The inference is of the nature that suggest a cause of
such magnitude that is practically God like. McCloskey words don t disprove the rational of a God.
Entitlement not to call this cause God is neither entitlement to deny calling the cause or considering it
to be God . Looking at the teleological argument, McCloskey has tied the argument from design
together. He is also at the same time rejecting both of them. He does this because he thinks that
mankind is not able nor have the ability to have a full understanding about Creation. He s description
of Creation is described by the theory of

The World with Journalism
Career Research Project Essay
Without journalism, we would not be living the life we have today. At the end of the 20th Century
there was a poll on what was the greatest invention of the last millennium. The top invention was the
printing press invented by Guttenberg. The reason for the selection was the written word preserved
knowledge. Prior to this everything we learned was passed by word of mouth. Many disasters and
disease caused knowledge to be lost. Essentially mankind had to relearn things over and over again.
Journalism has been around since before the printing press was even invented. People have always,
naturally spread information. There were many peoples who had elders who would give the oral
history of their people and who would tell heroic tales. Homer told the story of the Iliad for the
Greeks. African chiefs told tales of bravery of their peoples. The same occurred throughout the World
from the American Indians, the Mayas and Aztec to the Aboriginals of Australia. Journalism is the
passing of knowledge and ideas between people.
From the creation of the printing press and Gutenberg s Bible, print journalism evolved to include
included reporting in newspapers, magazines and anything else that is printed. Print journalism later
expanded to broadcast journalism, photojournalism, gonzo journalism and many other forms of
journalism.
For example there are reporters who report news. This type of journalism can be news reporting for

Spiral Of Silence In Animal Farm
Neither a man nor a crowd nor a nation can be trusted to act humanely or to think sanely under the
influence of a great fear(Russel). In the timeless allegory Animal Farm, a power hungry leader instills
fear in a society of animals to manipulate their actions and ultimately consolidate power. These fear
based responses are comparable to those of citizens in today s society who s fear leads to blind
following and a spiral of silence . It s no surprise that fear is often used to ensure there will not be any
questioning of regimes because it is so effective at turning citizens into blind followers. For example,

that citizens are afraid to go against the majority side in fear of isolation or more extreme

more than enough to keep the animals in check after witnessing this horrifying scene. Moreover, the
spiral is reinforced when the sheep continuously bleat four legs good, two legs bad!(Orwell) . Blind

When the Exposition theme is restated as part of the movement, it is known as the Recapitulation. In
Mozart s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488, the Recapitulation is when the soloist is
accompanied by the orchestra. There are many similarities between the exposition description and the
recapitulation description. However, there are also quite a few differences. The first theme group in
the exposition lasts from measures one through sixty six, whereas the first theme group in the
recapitulation lasts from measures begins at measure one hundred and ninety eight, and then ends at
two hundred and eighty four. The first theme group of the exposition has a two bar cadential extension

extensions. In the Exposition, the transition lasts from measures eighteen through thirty three. In the
Recapitulation, the transition lasts from two hundred and thirteenth measure to the two hundred and

How Iphone Is The Size Of Its Screen
Over the course of three years, the most meaningful change to the iPhone has been the size of its
screen. A phone with a bigger screen was all the consumer really wanted and if Apple wasn t willing
to provide them with that then Samsung would. After years of sticking with a 3.5 inch display and
watching Android competitors slowly increase their screen size while also increasing their sales,
Apple finally gave in to the obvious trend with the larger 4.7 inch iPhone 6 and huge 5.5 inch iPhone
6 Plus. However, as predicted, once Apple released their bigger screened iPhone 6 and 6 Plus,
Samsung s sales began to decrease. Now that Apple has an iPhone with a big screen and skyrocketing
sales there appears to be no obvious reason to make it better, but just like every year as technology
changes and improves there is always a demand on Apple to release their new upgraded phone, this
year s version being the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Apple s tagline for the iPhone 6S is the only thing that
s changed is everything , stating that the brand knows the phone bears a striking resemblance to its
2014 model despite the loads of changes made under the cover (Beavis 1). The reason behind the
similar appearance is due to it being an S year for the iPhone, which means the basic physical design
of the phone, has stayed the same while there has been a substantial revision to the internals making

Racial Formation
The Racial Formations of the Model Minority and Assimilating Whites
We use the term racial formation to refer to the process by which social, economic and political forces
determine the content and importance of racial categories, and by which they are in turn shaped by
racial meanings. (Omi and Winant 14) Through observing certain events in the economy, politics, and
society, we can understand the unwanted ascribing of racial identities to the minorities that led to their
unfair treatment and discrimination. The underlying factors that led to this utilization of racial
formation were a scarcity of jobs, political policies to maintain power, and racial division through
class differences.
The Chinese migrants were a group of people who migrated to America roughly a year after the the
annexation of California. They were a people the leaders praised, would cultivate Californian land and
develop the railroads that would connect the Atlantic states to what the fathers envisioned as the great
emporium of commerce and trade. The turmoil on their native land was the biggest factor in their

They were initially referred to as guest up until there was a scarcity of jobs. Unfortunately for the

Simply chewing a piece of gum can help solve any of these issues.
For example, everyone experiences stress at some point in their life. Whether its from school, work,

someone who is experiencing either acute or chronic stress. Chewing gum leads to reduced stress and

FACTs of WA MU
Washington Mutual Bank, aka WA MU, was organized in September 1889 to help provide funds for

  • 2. Psychosocial Theories in Criminal Justice PSYCHOSOCIAL THEORIES in the APPLICATION of CRIMINAL JUSTICE Mark P. Robertson Deviant Behavior Instructor Tomasina Cook EMPIRE STATE COLLEGE July 30, 2012 There are several Psychosocial Theories pertaining to human behavior. The relation of some of these theories can be directly applied to the Criminal Justice field. Theories focus on why some behavior develops, when and where the development begins, who is affected by it and may be particularly more susceptible, what signs or behaviors to look for, and what may be done to prevent it. Psychologist Terrie Moffitt proposed her Developmental Theory identifying two developmental paths or patterns in which an individual may exhibit. Moffitt claims that criminal behavior can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is especially true when it involves young people. Young people/persons are quite easily influenced, and impressionable. It is a very critical and important time in one s life, trapped somewhere between childhood and adulthood. It is a period of extreme change, extreme choices, and big decisions. Lack of one s own identity, confusion, and the need and desire to belong, or to fit in somewhere, can and often does provoke irrational thought. The inability or difficulty to become accepted by one s peers gives way to potentially bad choices. This can be especially difficult for certain cultural, ethnic, and societal groups. For example, inner city youth (regardless of race) who grow up in areas with higher crime rates and/or criminal activity, or lower income families (many with only one parental figure) are by default, at higher risk of exposure to criminal activity. They in essence, have little or almost no chance of meeting or interacting with (or being influenced by) someone from the suburbs, or the country (rural areas), where criminal activity is lower. These inner city youths are more frequently exposed to crime (it is sometimes all they see and know), and without positive influence, they are more susceptible to adopt an identity relative and according to what they experience on a regular basis. They believe that is the norm and in turn, they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Special Care Baby Unit ( Scbu ) The aim of this assignment is to describe, analyze and reflect a specific scenario throughout my time in special care baby unit (SCBU).. The concept of reflective practice, popularized by Schön s (1983) work, has been applied in nursing for various purposes, including as a way to narrow the gap between theory and practice in clinical practice(Clarke, 1986) and a way to discover knowledge embedded in practice (Benner at al. 1996). Reflection, or thinking about our experiences, is the key to learning. Reflection allows us to analyze our experiences, make changes based on our mistakes, keep doing what is successful, and build upon or modify past knowledge based on new knowledge. According to the NMC guidance (2015), the infant concerned will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As St Georges policy states, a baby greater than 1.500kg can be nursed in a cot if it has an adequate thermo control and is gaining weight in an incubator set at a minimal temperature . Mark´s incubator was decreased by 0,5ºC every 1 2 hours during the morning and was well tolerated. Temperature was checked regularly and was always 36,8ºC. Despite of baby was less than 1.5kg, medical team was agree to transfer the patient in to a cot due temperature was very stabilized. The last incubator temperature registered was 29ºC. So what According to Thomas (1994), temperature control or thermoregulation in the neonate is a critical physiological function that is strongly influenced by physical immaturity, extent of illness and environmental factors. St George´s Hospital guidelines suggest that the acceptable range for axial temperature is 36.6 37.2°C. This range should be maintained at all times to allow normal physiological function and body metabolism. The nursing diagnosis of hypothermia is the state in which an individual s body temperature is reduced below normal range (Wilkinson, 2000, p. 205). Term and specially pre term infants are more susceptible to become cold and hypothermic. They have a higher body surface area to body mass ratio, higher metabolic rate with limited stores of metabolic substrates, and limited and immature thermoregulatory behaviors, including a poorly developed shivering response (Hackman, 2001) It is essential that neonates are ... • 4. Dunkirk Research Paper During the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 ships from the Royal Navy as well as hundreds of civilian ships helped to save the thousands of stranded soldiers. But one is well known, a paddle steamer named The Medway Queen made a total of seven round trips to Dunkirk, successfully rescuing more than 7,000 soldiers. Today, many movies have depicted different parts of World War 2, Dunkirk directed by Christopher Nolan has caused enthusiasm about the specific event. Many movie critics have been trying to find what s fact against what s fiction. The hit movie Dunkirk stays true to the real life events of the evacuation in WW2. The evacuation, also known as Operation Dynamo was named after the dynamo room that generated electricity for the British Naval Headquarters located in the secret tunnels underneath Dover Castle (Dunkirk Movie vs. the True Story). The operation itself was to get over 400,000 British troops that were stranded on the coast of Dunkirk, France. The thousands of men were at a very high risk for an attack from the German air forces blitzkrieg. The film itself focuses on a very important part of flying Pilots had to carefully conserve fuel...could only operate for less than an hour over Dunkirk itself (Broich). and one pilot is shown in a few scenes doing the math to try to see how much fuel he has left. Although the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film raised a lot of questions about the true life events, one was that if the movie stayed truer or if it was more fiction. There were many parts of the movie that were reenactments of the evacuation, like the attacks from the opposing air force. There was also some fiction like the characters throughout the movie were not real people, yet some of them were loosely based around real people. One thing that the movie depicted very well was the number of civilian ships that came to Dunkirk to help save the thousands of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Voltaire s Candide And Dostoyevsky s Notes From Underground The vital notion of moderation was first given precise archetypal denotation by Aristotle. Aristotle described moderation as the equilibrium between two extremes; for example, the person who never takes any risks is frightened, while the person who consistently takes risks is reckless (Parry). Therefore the person who is a balance of the two, not too cowardly but not too irresponsible, has attained the impeccable balance of moderation. While there have been many brilliant works created to provide emphasis to the importance of moderation, two philosophers in particular, Voltaire and Dostoyevsky, have conceivably accomplished the most exemplary job of delivering evidence in Voltaire s Candide and Dostoyevsky s Notes From Underground. Each use the two concepts of reasoning and currency in different ways to express the importance of moderation. In contemporary society, daring to ask a pertinent question on a social platform is feasibly one of the most daunting tasks one can make. Riddled with a maelstrom of potentially traumatizing consequences, giving voice to a serious enquiry over a serious subject is even more of an arduous enterprise. Still, regardless of the details of the responses themselves, the act of asking and answering a serious question shows something even more significant: the ability to think. In both Candide and Notes from Underground, thought and the impact of reason are the most important concepts discussed, though Voltaire and Dostoyevsky use different ... The light treatments enhanced certain wavelengths of light which, due to the absorption spectrum of chlorophylls a and b and carotenoid pigments, altered the amount of photosynthesis a plant was able to perform in a certain amount of time. Each Elodea plant was subjected to a different light treatment, one to normal light, another to red and the third to green light while in a test tube of water for a total of two hours. • 7. Motorcyclist And Automobile Drivers All too often you hear reports of a fatality due to a motorcycle accident. It is a common scenario for any accident attorney. Often, these fatalities are caused by negligent drivers, who have a variety of excuses from the sun was in their eyes to the biker hit their blind spot. It is a never ending story and one that is often, quite tragic. As any motorcycle accident attorney will tell you, it is important, as drivers, that you are constantly aware of your surroundings and the other vehicles that are on the roadways. These vehicles include the sometimes hard to see, motorcycles. When drivers fail to know the other vehicles and their whereabouts on the roadways, then the result can be a fatality. • 8. Summary Of The Night Odyssey Lost It was the summer of 1998; I was pregnant with my second child, when my two year old son, my husband, my brother Vladimir, his girlfriend Nicole, two other couples and I went on vacation to Brittany, France. Usually, I spent the summer in Serbia with my two grandmas and the rest of the family. But this year, we decided to go another time to visit them. I never thought this would be one of my most regretted decisions I have ever made. I cannot remember the name of the place where we stayed for two weeks. The only thing I do remember is our night odyssey in Paris, how we weren t able to find the way out through the maze tunnels to the highway which was supposed to lead us to the no name village in Brittany. Eventually, around midday, we arrived at our house. As we were the only ones with a child, the rest of the group treated my son like an alien whose task was to turn the nightly rest upside down, so the banned us to the only bedroom in the first floor. In hindsight, it was the best room of the whole house, due to the heat which emanated at night heavily from the attic rooms and made breathing difficult. The area was beautiful, green hills everywhere; the few houses looked like they were put into the lush meadows by a creative behemoth. Although you could not see the ocean, the constant blowing wind carried the salty, fishy smell to your house. The fleecy clouds alternated with the sunshine I a two day cycle. • 10. The Death Of John F. Kennedy On November 22, 1963, our president, John F. Kennedy, was shot and killed while riding through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was identified as the lone assassin hours after thousands of Texans witnessed the horrific last shot shattering their beloved president s right temple. Six months later, a report of the investigation was released by the Warren Commission. Unreported findings caused the majority of America to question the accuracy of the results to what happened that day. A plethora of theories have been published since that day and continue to surface fifty two years later. Some believe the mob or Cuba was behind the plot. Some believe Kennedy was killed to keep information from being exposed. Others believe it came to be a fatal error by an individual sworn in to protect John F. Kennedy at all costs. However, most side with what the facts support. This paper will investigate four theories that developed after the historical day Americans were brought to their knees. One notion is that the mob used Lee Harvey Oswald as a patsy to murder John F. Kennedy. John had taken favors from the mob to win the presidential election. In Patrick J. Kiger s article, Was Kennedy Tied to the Mob? he describes an instance where Kennedy s mistress, Judith Campbell Exner recalls a meeting set up between JFK and Sam Giacana. Rembrandt was also a proficient printmaker and made many drawings. His contributions to art came in a period that historians call the Dutch Golden Age (roughly equivalent to the 17th century), in which Dutch culture, science, commerce, world power and political influence reached their pinnacles. In all, Rembrandt produced around 600 paintings, 300 etchings, and 2,000 drawings. By 1631, Rembrandt had established such a good reputation that he received several assignments for portraits from Amsterdam. As a result, he moved to that city and into the house of an art dealer, Hendrick van Uylenburgh. This move eventually led, in 1634, to the marriage of Rembrandt and Hendrick s greatniece, Saskia van Uylenburg. This was obviously a marriage for love. Although she came from a good family (her father had been burgomaster of Leeuwarden), Saskia was an orphan and was probably not very wealthy. She lived with her sister in Frisia and did not have many grand connections in Amsterdam. These events, however, are widely disputed. In 1639, Rembrandt and Saskia moved to a prominent house in the Jodenbreestraat in the Jewish quarter, which later became the Rembrandt House Museum. Although they were affluent the couple had several setbacks in their personal life. Three of their children died shortly after birth. Only their fourth child, a son, Titus, who was born in 1641, survived into adulthood. Saskia died in 1642 soon after Titus s birth, probably from tuberculosis. After her death he began an affair with Titus s nurse, a widow called Geertje Dircx. This ended in a lawsuit. Geertje claimed that Rembrandt had broken his promise to marry her, and demanded that the council force him to marry her. The flight is around 2300 nautical miles (4300km) and in the Airbus A320 travelling at approximately 430kt (800km/hr) it will take five hours and twenty minutes. ITCZ: This flight travels straight through the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). This is a belt of low pressure where the northeast and southeast tradewinds meet, pushing air upwards. It is situated around the equator but moves seasonally following the suns zenith point. The ITCZ appears as a belt of clouds, which is responsible for the wet and dry season in the tropics. This area is also known for its strong convective weather. Any aircrew that is travelling through this region needs to be aware of the conditions associated with ITCZ and the relative tradewinds as it can jeopardize the safety of the aircraft. An active ITCZ has strong tradewinds causing solid lines of active Cumulonimbus (Cb) with other types of clouds at higher levels. Due to the instability and predominantly vertical movement of air the cloud development can be extreme with the tops reaching up to 55,000ft and can be some 300nm wide. At this scale it is hard to avoid the clouds and determining whether the ITCZ is in an active or inactive stage is hard as they develop and decay reasonably quickly. Allergen Immunotherapy Immunotherapy and its advantages: Allergen immunotherapy can be described as a therapeutic technique used to treat symptoms of allergies and reduces the underlying immunological hypersensitivity (1). In this method the patients are provided gradually increasing levels of the sensitized allergen, the dose of which is properly administrated. Consequently the immunological response towards this allergen decreases. The issue with the normal treatment against allergies including the anti allergy drugs and an immunomodulatory agent such as anti IgE is that they only temporarily decrease the symptoms of the allergies, however if the drug intake is discontinued, these symptoms are evident again (1). Contrary to the normal anti allergy treatments, it is suggested that immunotherapy may be effective in long time remission (2, 3), reduction in the probability of developing new sensitizations and prevention of rhinitis conversion to asthma (4, 5). The company law of the U.K is similar to the company law of the U.K because they share a common origin. The managers in both countries have a fiduciary duty to the shareholders. In other words, they have a strong requirement to act in the interests of shareholders. The channel through which shareholders exercises control of company affairs is the board of directors. (McCloskey, 1968) This would be true for there is no reason why to necessary infer a God person. The inference is of the nature that suggest a cause of such magnitude that is practically God like. McCloskey words don t disprove the rational of a God. Entitlement not to call this cause God is neither entitlement to deny calling the cause or considering it to be God . Looking at the teleological argument, McCloskey has tied the argument from design together. He is also at the same time rejecting both of them. He does this because he thinks that mankind is not able nor have the ability to have a full understanding about Creation. He s description of Creation is described by the theory of ... The reason for the selection was the written word preserved knowledge. Prior to this everything we learned was passed by word of mouth. Many disasters and disease caused knowledge to be lost. There were many peoples who had elders who would give the oral history of their people and who would tell heroic tales. Homer told the story of the Iliad for the Greeks. African chiefs told tales of bravery of their peoples. The same occurred throughout the World from the American Indians, the Mayas and Aztec to the Aboriginals of Australia. • 30. Spiral Of Silence In Animal Farm Neither a man nor a crowd nor a nation can be trusted to act humanely or to think sanely under the influence of a great fear(Russel). In the timeless allegory Animal Farm, a power hungry leader instills fear in a society of animals to manipulate their actions and ultimately consolidate power. These fear based responses are comparable to those of citizens in today s society who s fear leads to blind following and a spiral of silence . It s no surprise that fear is often used to ensure there will not be any questioning of regimes because it is so effective at turning citizens into blind followers. For example, Squealer questions the animals surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back? The Spiral of Silence Theory states that citizens are afraid to go against the majority side in fear of isolation or more extreme consequences (Mass Communication Theory). In this case, the extreme consequence is death, which is more than enough to keep the animals in check after witnessing this horrifying scene. Moreover, the spiral is reinforced when the sheep continuously bleat four legs good, two legs bad!(Orwell) . Blind following and the spiral of silence go hand in hand. When the sheep blindly yet confidently voice their opinion in favor of the majority, the minority feel like they are alone in their beliefs. They are further distanced from comfortably voicing their opinions and the fear induced spiral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the Exposition theme is restated as part of the movement, it is known as the Recapitulation. In Mozart s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488, the Recapitulation is when the soloist is accompanied by the orchestra. There are many similarities between the exposition description and the recapitulation description. However, there are also quite a few differences. The first theme group in the exposition lasts from measures one through sixty six, whereas the first theme group in the recapitulation lasts from measures begins at measure one hundred and ninety eight, and then ends at two hundred and eighty four. The first theme group of the exposition has a two bar cadential extension with a sixteen bar double period. Many wonder how the first theme in the recapitulation is derived from the exposition? That is because there is and exposition version of the variation that has no extensions. In the Exposition, the transition lasts from measures eighteen through thirty three. In the Recapitulation, the transition lasts from two hundred and thirteenth measure to the two hundred and twenty eighth measure. The second theme of the recapitulation is derived from the exposition, because the second theme of the exposition has a thirty one to forty six bar double period, along with a seven bar shortened sentence, a three bar interpolation, and closing with a four bar phrase. A phone with a bigger screen was all the consumer really wanted and if Apple wasn t willing to provide them with that then Samsung would. After years of sticking with a 3.5 inch display and watching Android competitors slowly increase their screen size while also increasing their sales, Apple finally gave in to the obvious trend with the larger 4.7 inch iPhone 6 and huge 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus. However, as predicted, once Apple released their bigger screened iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Samsung s sales began to decrease. Now that Apple has an iPhone with a big screen and skyrocketing sales there appears to be no obvious reason to make it better, but just like every year as technology changes and improves there is always a demand on Apple to release their new upgraded phone, this year s version being the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Apple s tagline for the iPhone 6S is the only thing that s changed is everything , stating that the brand knows the phone bears a striking resemblance to its 2014 model despite the loads of changes made under the cover (Beavis 1). The reason behind the similar appearance is due to it being an S year for the iPhone, which means the basic physical design of the phone, has stayed the same while there has been a substantial revision to the internals making them faster. Racial Formation The Racial Formations of the Model Minority and Assimilating Whites We use the term racial formation to refer to the process by which social, economic and political forces determine the content and importance of racial categories, and by which they are in turn shaped by racial meanings. (Omi and Winant 14) Through observing certain events in the economy, politics, and society, we can understand the unwanted ascribing of racial identities to the minorities that led to their unfair treatment and discrimination. The underlying factors that led to this utilization of racial formation were a scarcity of jobs, political policies to maintain power, and racial division through class differences. The Chinese migrants were a group of people who migrated to America roughly a year after the the annexation of California. They were a people the leaders praised, would cultivate Californian land and develop the railroads that would connect the Atlantic states to what the fathers envisioned as the great emporium of commerce and trade. The turmoil on their native land was the biggest factor in their emigration out of China. They were initially referred to as guest up until there was a scarcity of jobs.
