The Road Not Taken Research Paper
Essay
The Road Not Taken is a very popular poem written by the renowned poet Robert Frost. This
poem tells a story of a man caught between two diverged roads and uncertain on which path he
should take. These two roads are quite obviously metaphors for the different paths you can take in
life, but what is less obvious is which path the narrator should take, and which he should leave
behind. Throughout the poem the narrator is constantly second guessing himself on which of the
two roads he should take. He reassures himself by saying that one of the roads seemed more
grassy than the other and also seemed less traveled upon. But shortly after he reveals that in
actuality the two roads were both quite the same. In the end he finally makes a decision but shows
much regret after making it. This poem may not be much of a fairytale but Robert Frost does have a
theme behind this story, which is to make the best of your opportunities. Since you can obviously
not be able to see the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first line of the poem Frost already begins to lay out his setting for the reader saying, Two
roads diverged in a yellow wood (1). This allows the reader to visually see what the narrator sees,
which makes the poem much more powerful and realistic. Also Frost had to use imagery to put
reader in the narrator s shoes, so it s as if the reader also has to make the decision on which road
is the best to take. Even though the roads are not any different from each other, the details the
narrator gives makes even the reader for a moment believe that one is better than the other. This
manipulation that Frost creates using imagery makes the reader experience first hand the theme
that he made which is to make the best of your situation. Frost was able to put the reader in the
same situation and cause them to even weigh their options for a

The Creation Of A Life
The Creation Of A Life I don t know my name. I don t know my birthday. I don t have a family.
These are just a few of the things in my life that I created. I remember waking up to the light. The
brightest of lights was shining down on me. Looking around, I began to question my existence. I
couldn t remember anything. Actually, that s not true I remember dying; or at least I thought that is
what happened. The sensation of drowning was the only thing that remained clear in my mind.
But, as it turns out, I was wrong. I survived. I survived the hurricane that otherwise took everything
from me. I woke with a loud cough followed by a deep breath. Looking back, that breath was the
beginning of it all. Although it wasn t my first breath, it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bruised and battered. Similar to the neighborhood that enveloped me. A neighborhood I couldn t
remember. In a time of naivety, I tried to reach for him. The smallest of movement caused an
unbearable, inordinate amount of pain. I screamed. He reached down and scooped me up. Must
be broken, he reckoned. Where am I? I questioned. Nothing seemed to strike my memory. Not a
person around. Not a scent. Not a scene. Well darlin you re in the suburbs of New Orleans. Or
rather, what s left of it. He seemed relatively calm considering our surroundings. Left from what?
How did this all happen? Why am I here? It was baffling. The town looked dead at least the
nonliving parts of it. He stopped walking suddenly, as if I d done something wrong. You don t
remember...? He spoke clearly like he wanted my absolute full attention. I... No. Should I? Yes. I
would assume I cut him off, Way to be blatantly honest. He took a step around a large tree that
had fallen down completely and crushed a small home. What is your name? Looking down at
myself, I didn t know. In fact I couldn t remember anything about myself at all. I... I don t know.
Well then, I s pose I should give you a name then, just until you remember. I smiled. He didn t

Dewey s Identity
In this journal, I will be characterizing Klaus. I characterized him as being both intelligent and
quite knowledgeable about literature. To begin with, Klaus is quite intelligent and wise. For
example, when the Baudelaires are at the hotel they need to keep hidden, so they decide to go
undercover as concierges. Being as wise as he is, when ever Klaus would be confronted by
someone he would always respond as vaguely as possible to conceal his identity. When Frank or
Ernest asked him who he was he answered with I m a concierge (Snicket 118). This shows that
Klaus is a deep thinker and he thinks before he speaks. He tried to respond as vaguely and non
suspiciously as possible. He did this because depending on which identical twin manager he... Show

I predict that next the Baudelaires will go to look for the sugar bowl, and while they are doing
that they will try to hide and escape the attention of Dewey s death. To begin with, one of the
first things that I predict will happen is that the Baudelaires will hide in the hotel and will try to
escape the attention of Dewey s death. In the first place, the public and visitors in the hotel went
crazy after the death of Dewey, and they are looking for the Baudelaires or any other people who
might have been involved in the death. The hotel was quite chaotic and everyone was talking
about who might have killed him. If they do not decide to hide or run away they will most likely
get caught. During all of the chaos someone shouted, We d better hurry downstairs, before they
escape (Snicket 242). This shows that a mob of people have already started a search party to
find the killer. From this it can be inferred that the Baudelaires might leave the hotel or hide
somewhere so they will not get caught. The Baudelaires were apart of the death of Dewey
Denouement, so the hotel guest will most likely find them sooner or later. In addition, the
Baudelaires might hide because Count Olaf has finally found them in the hotel, and he will
want to catch them. If they do not find a place to hide or disguise sooner or later Count Olaf is
bound to find them. Count Olaf is constantly trying to kidnap the Baudelaires, and is trying to get
their family fortune. Now that he knows where they are it can be inferred that he is definitely
going after them. Especially now, the Baudelaires most likely know that Count Olaf is after them
because he knows where they are, so they will most likely hide and try to get away from him.
Furthermore, the Baudelaires might decide to hide or run away because a suspicious man came up
to them and asked if they needed a taxi. This could be a quick getaway from the hotel and the
attention of the murder.

The Lottery, by Shirley Jackson and Eudora Welty’s A Worn...
In literature there are many different critical views, in which all of them have very distinctive
ideas and beliefs. The value of these critical views is decided by the reader and may be different
to each one. When a reader approaches a work of literature they bring their own views and
experiences with them, so each reader will read each story differently. And even the same reader
will never read the same story the same way twice due to things that may have changed in his or
her life. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery (509 15) and Eudora Weltys A Worn Path(568 74) one
reader my feel sympathy while another does not fill anything. So what is the correct response to
these stories? In The Lottery the author uses many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next character would be Mr. Graves which one can blatantly see the ominous mean of death
and the dead being bared in a grave. Then Old Man Warner which on a first reading one may not
see because it s not so much a double meaning as it is a play on words, warn er. In which one
could gather that since he is the oldest man in the town he has been there for a long time and
could warn the other of The Lottery . After that is Mrs. Delacroix which could also be a hard one
to catch but the literal translation in French to de la Croix is of the cross. So when a reader sees
all of this on their subsequent readings one would see from the introduction of all of the
characters that there is a somber warning (lively men die without warning by crucifixion) for
Tessie Hutchinson; who shows up late and says that she Clean forgot what day it was, (Jackson
511) showing that she is a free spirit. This makes her stand out in the story letting the reader
know the warning is for her. Then last but not least there is Mrs. Dunbar who had to draw for
her husband because he had a broken leg and ever since the early days of sacrificial killings they
have never offered someone or something with broken bones because it would not please the
gods and after all that was the whole point of the killing. Eudora Welty also uses a lot of themes
and symbols to help readers connect to her stories. In her story titled A Worn Path she uses a
number of situations where

A Brief Economic History of Argentina
In 1502 European sailors arrived ashore the Argentinean land during the Amerigo Vespucci
voyage in 1502. A Spanish navigator named Juan Diaz de Solias visited Argentina during the year
of 1516. The Spanish people created a permanent colony on the site of Buenos Aires in 1580,
which was built overland and greatly resembled those built in Peru. From this established colony
the regions of Rio de la Plata and Buenos Airesbecome the center of trade in Central America and
throughout Europe. In the year of 1816 on July 9th the region of Buenos Aires would declare for
their independence from Spanish opposition. After their victory over the Spanish, two groups
would embark in lengthy conflicts between one another on who would/should control the region of
Buenos Aires, and the two groups being the centralists and the federalists. These two groups thus
combine to create the nation known to this day as Argentinafinally establishing in the late 19th
century finally agreeing on views. Foreigners investing into Argentina s trade would add to a
contribution of an economic revolution all throughout Argentina leading to the production of
railroads and mass amounts of trade ports spreading all throughout the land of Argentina with the
British being their primary and significant investor s. Ever since these momentous events have

Analysis Of Walt Disney s Sleeping Beauty For The Past...
The Walt Disney Corporation over the past century has become a phenomenon of its own,
transcending into the lives of families globally. Recently, a popular trend has been to reinvent their
one time classic films, Sleeping Beauty for instance. With the release of Maleficent, Disney sought
to change the perception of the film and retell the story with a new spin. Evidently, a change this
large caused mixed reviews in the reception of the film. However, one group that was strongly
appreciative of the new rendition was that of feminism. With Maleficent s story retold in a manner
supporting a strong female lead, rather than Aurora who slept through the majority of the film,
Disney set the stage of female empowerment. In the article Imagining... Show more content on

The focus of the article highlights the differences of presented in the film between masculine
society, King Stefan s Kingdom, and the natural landscape of the Moors, cared for by Maleficent.
The article claims, Maleficent communicates an awareness of ecological pedagogical practices that
serve to liberate audience members in the midst of environmental collapse (Hatfield 81). Through
this, it is reasoned that Disney is engaged in issues surrounding both civilization collapse and the
feminist agency within all this. The article further promotes that nature is subjected to be beneath
culture as industrialization is at the root of the degradation of the natural environment. The idea is
paralleled within Maleficent, between the Kingdom of Stefan and the Moors. The queer relations
aspect is promoted through Aurora and Maleficent s atypical relationship, which ultimately bridges
the gap between the two kingdoms, unifying culture and nature. The argument pursued in
Imagining Ecofeminist Communities via Queer Alliances in Disney s Maleficent is strongly
clarified through supporting works. The ecofeminism idea that is pushed outlines the cross between
environmentalism and feminism. Environmentalism analyzes work to analyze why nature is
treated inferior to culture while the feminist movement shows interest in uncovering why women
are treated inferior to men. The cross between

A Comparison of Two Commencement Speeches Essay
Graduating from school is only one of the essential tools for a young person to have a successful
life. A person endures many long years of schooling, and then the graduation day finally arrives.
That special day is one of the most momentous days in a young student s life. Happiness and
sadness are the two emotions a person will feel on that special day. A student will experience
happiness because of a significant milestone that was completed in the student s life. The sad
emotions will arise because of a terrifying new chapter in the book of life that is about to begin.

Next, both of the speakers incorporate their fame to try and get a meaningful message across to
the young people before going out into the real world. Being famous does not mean that you are
a perfect person without flaws, and fame takes hard work and dedication. Whitford talks about
why in the world, the college would opt instead for a glorified circus clown from a television
show (1). By poking fun at himself and not acting superior, he is letting the audience know that
everyone is equal. Whitford establishes a common ground with the students, and it makes the
students feel comfortable listening to his words and advice. Whitford talks about how he only
has two areas of expertise reproduction and acting (2). That means that all people have an area
in their lives where they can be considered an expert. The Dalai Lama expresses to the students
that he will try and speak directly through broken English (1). Immediately that tells the
graduating class that the Dalai Lama is not perfect, and he has to work hard for his place in
society. His English was not perfect, but he essentially told the students with courage anything is
possible. Some people look up to famous people, but both speakers try and establish themselves as
ordinary people trying to find success in their lives. Incorporating their faults into the speeches lets
the graduates know that it takes dedication and hard work to achieve success. Even imperfect
people can have what it takes to find a job that

Introduction to Optical Coherence Tomography
Introduction to Optical Coherence Tomography
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a method of imaging which uses near infrared or optical
light scattering to produce three dimensional images of a medium. Medical applications are of
particular interest, since OCT allows retinal and other tissues to be imaged with high resolution.
I. Introduction
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a method of imaging which uses near infrared or optical
light scattering to produce three dimensional images of a medium. In particular, this paper will
focus on the application of OCT to medical imaging. Like most radar imaging, an OCT device
emits EM radiation and constructs an image based on the light reflected back from an object.
However, OCT differs from traditional radar in several important ways. First, because OCT uses a
much shorter wavelength of light than radio frequency radar, OCT emissions only propagate
about 1 mm into biological tissues. This limits the possible images from OCT as compared to
MRI or CT scans, so OCT is only appropriate for some specific types of medical imaging, such as
retinal scans. The benefit of using a shorter wavelength is an increase in imaging resolution. A
typical OCT image has a resolution of 10 20 Вµm. At this resolution very small biological
structures are easily resolved and can be analyzed.
Second, OCT requires that returning radiation be collected from many different angles. Traditional
radar imaging is collected from one, or at most

Understanding The Skeletal System
The Skeletal system is a vital part of the human body due to the appendicular skeleton helping our
bodies lift up objects, the axial skeleton helping us stand upright, but also, some bones can break
and develop bone diseases, yet there are still many ways to prevent it.
Bones
First, we need to understand what a bone actually is. You can hear bone dry on a daily basis but
actually bones are actually quite alive with nerves , blood vessels etc. Without bones in our body
we would just be a blob and unable to move anything in our body. A bone divides into three
layers periosteum, haversian canals and bone marrow. The first layer is the periosteum layer, it
covers the whole part of the bone minus areas where cartilage connects the bone to a joint. The
second layer is known as the Haversian canal which transports nerves and blood vessels throughout
the human body. The third layer is known as compact bone or spongy bone, spongy

As a fetus you have red bone marrow primarily made out of of cartilage, than as you grow up you

you grow your bone will grow into 5 different shapes there is long bones, short bones, flat bones,
irregular bones, and sesamoid bones. Between the ages of 20 25 is when bone growth stops, but
bones may grow in diameter as they gain strength. If you ever go to the doctors and you get an
xray of your bones and see white lines in it that just means you re bone is growing. I had that

Inherent risk as per ISA 400 is the susceptibility of an account balance or class of transactions to
misstatements that could be material, individually or when aggregated with misstatements in other

risk and inherent risk as it is an essential part of audit planning to help in determining the quality
and quantity of evidence gathered and the staff that needed to be assigned to the particular audit.
The auditor also obtained an understanding of the business and its environment in order to assess
the risk of material misstatement. ISA 310 requires a reasonable understanding of the client s
business and industry. The nature of the client s business and industry affects the client business
risk and the risk of material misstatements in the financial statements. The auditor used the
knowledge of these risks to determine the appropriate amount of audit evidence gathered. The
auditor through experience is aware of the exposure to problems resulting from the auditor s failure
to understand comprehensively the nature of transactions in the client s business. The
understanding helped the auditor to evaluate the design and implementation of specific controls

Trophy Hunting Essay
Every year, trophy hunters kill tens of thousands of animals, some of them threatened or
endangered, exclusively for the thrill of bringing home a trophy . In order to acquire trophies,
trophy hunters tend to work with outfitters that arrange equipment, supplies, and often trained
guides. This section will further elaborate on the business of trophy hunting.
Working with a Trophy Hunting Outfitter
Trophy hunting outfitters facilitate trophy hunting outings and thereby make such outings
accessible to novices and experts alike, provided clients are willing to pay the often substantial
financial fees. Outfitters are often able to customize each trophy hunting trip to individual needs
and can assist with and advise clients about outing logistics with which they may not be familiar,
including licensing and permitting processes, identifying target species, recommending necessary
equipment, and even suggesting best hunting techniques. Established outfitters can provide an
experienced guide that, in most cases, helps garner a successful kill.
How Much Does it Cost?
Trophy hunting is an extremely expensive sport. Generally, the high price for a trophy hunting
packages includes travel, lodging, meals, on the ground hunting guides, permits, some supplies, and
preparing the kill for taxidermy. Equipment like hunting rifles, shotguns, bows, ammunition,
shipment of the kill, taxidermy, and gratuity are often considered additional costs. Some high

Essay on Kinghthood
Knighthood
Knighthood and chivalry. The terms are often confused, and often pointlessly distinguished. The
term knighthood comes from the English word knight (from Old English, servant or boy) while
chivalry comes from the French chevalerie, from chevalier or knight. In modern English, chivalry
means the ideals, virtues, or characteristics of knights. But in actuality, the phrases quot;orders of
chivalry quot; and quot;orders of knighthood quot; are essentially synonymous.
Succinctly, a knight was a professional soldier. Professional armies had replaced the old citizens
armies of the distant past. This trend was reinforced by the appearance in the 8th century of the
stirrup, which made mounted men much more powerful and turned ... Show more content on

On the contrary to this not so balanced father, son relationship, heredity enters the knightly class in
the 13th century. The son of a knight is automatically a squire, thus making him eligible for
knighthood on the basis of his ancestry.
Men who were free provided military service, either personally or (if they were rich enough)
using others services. Thus, a man who held his estate in knight s fee owed service as a knight to
his lord. A more sizeable vassal, when called by his liege, would summon his knights and form a
contingent in his liege s army.
In the late 13th century, a decision of the Parliament in Paris forbade the count of Artois from
making unfree men into knights without the king s consent; interesting to note, the two men who
had been so knighted were allowed to remain knights subject to the payment of a fine. Knighthood
did not become a hereditary class in England, and instead the knightly class (those eligible to be
knights) became the nucleus of the gentry.
As a military institution, knighthood was on the wane from the late 13th century on. The end of
feudal society meant that sovereigns gained a monopoly on war making, and the old form of
military service owed to one s immediate lord became obsolete. Kings still summoned their knights
for wars, but increasingly they turned to other sources of manpower, namely mercenaries whose
use became common in the 14th

Comparing The Monkey s Paw And A Sound Of Thunder
Be careful what you wish for you just might get it. This quote means that even though your wishes
are beyond coming true you could receive it, and you could regret your decision. This quote is true
in both stories, The Monkey s Paw and A Sound of Thunder. The White family and Eckels learn
this lesson, due to the outcomes of their choices. Be careful what you wishfor you just might get it.
This quote relates to the story The Monkey s Paw in numerous ways. The White Family in the
story The Monkey s Paw, receive a talisman that will grant them three wishes, although they
regretted all three of the wishes they had made. To begin with, quoted from the story The Monkey
s Paw I wish for two hundred pounds, said the old man distinctly. Furthermore, quoted in the story
His dry lips shaped the words, How much? Two hundred pounds, was the answer. The main quote

Essay On How Addiction Can Destroy The Family
HOW ADDICTIONS DESTROY THE FAMILY UNIT
In our modern life, there are certain things that can destroy the family unit queitly such as

The goal of intrusion detection is to monitor network assets, detect anomalous behavior, and
identify misuse within a network (Ashoor, Gore, 2011). An intrusion detection system (IDS) is a
device or software application that monitors network system activities for malicious activity or
policy violations and produces reports to a management station (Kashyap, Agrawal, Pandey, Keshri,

Host based IDS monitors a computer system on which it is installed in order to detect intrusion or
misuse by analyzing several types of logs files including kernel, system, server, network and
firewall logs, and compares logs with signatures for known attacks.

Cultural Diversity In The Film And Television Industry
In addition to considering myself a champion of the supporting cast of the films and shows I
regularly watch, I also do appreciate and value diversity within the film and television industry.
While I may not voice my concerns publicly about the traditional lack of diversity within the
industry, I regard this issue as one amongst a whole host of others that are vital to the ongoing
success of this business. For whatever reason, I tend to have a heart for Asians within the
industry who have exceptional talent and deserve to be recognized. In the case of Nelson Wong, I
have noticed his work for several years now, so reaching out and asking him a few questions about
his career is an action that matches perfectly not only with my own beliefs and value system, but
certainly with the Hallmark network as well. Although the Christmas movies are past, I am honored
to be able to share the career and thoughts of this astounding actorand benevolent human being.

Image resampling involves the conversion of satellite imagery at a relatively fine scale to a more
coarse spatial resolution with imagery from similar or different satellite sensor with varying spatial
resolution. 17 The choice of the resampling method depends, among others, on the ratio between
input and output pixel size and the purpose of the resampled image (Bakker, et al., 2004). In this
research, Landsat TM images were resampled using the nearest neighbor resampling technique to
preserve the original image radiometric information (Serra, X, Sauri, 2003)(Serra et al., 2003. In
addition, Nearest neighbor assigns the digital number, DN (fig..x), value of the closest original

However, as one looks to the future, technology will play an essential role in enabling the desired
changes. Technology will help make feasible the new logistic capabilities needed to support future
industrial concepts and the type of efficient, responsive logistic system that business forces will
demand .[1] Traditionally, China is a country with relatively weak formal institutions; more
importance is given to informal constraints, e.g. personal relationships. As a result, Chinese
companies rely upon a network based strategy of growth, based on personal trust and informal
agreements among managers. These are important considerations for managers when forming
business relationships and designing their supply chains in China. Although customers are
spending more on average for logistics outsourcing, the percentage of budget devoted to
outsourcing logistics, and the services outsourced, haven t changed dramatically over the past
several years. Companies continue their general tendency to outsource relatively commoditized
services .[2] As a result of the market shift from cost driven to quality driven in the near future,
the strategies for logistics service providers will include: more flexibility, quicker handling, better
price stability, higher transparency and increased professionalism, in order to meet the challenges.
The next five years will see a significant increase in outsourcing activity. 3PLs will be the main

How Horses Changed The Lifestyle Of Indians
The introduction of horses has changed the lifestyle of Indians dramatically. The change, however,
has a good and a bad side. In the article, Hämäläinen indicated that Horses did bring new
possibilities, prosperity, and power to Plains Indians, but they also brought destabilization,
dispossession, and destruction (834). It happened in the late sixteenth century when the Spanish
approached the Great Plain. The horse changed the lives of buffalo hunters who turned to hunt for
trade from that for survival. The core of Comancbe pastoralism was intensive trade in horses and
mules, which was stimulated by a shifting political and economic geography (Hämäläinen,
837). The tribes of the southern Plains had to make a balance between the trade economy based on
horses and the subsistence economy based on bison. The southern Plains Indiansbecame pastoral
people who mainly lived on hunting and horse keeping. On the positive side, the horse has brought
wealth to Southern Plains Indians. On the negative side, it ended up as a disaster for the grassland
ecology and led to famine and drought.
Pueblo Revolt was led by the Pueblo Indians who drove the Spanish out of New Mexico,
confiscated their horse herds, and embarked on a vigorous livestock (Hämäläinen, 836). The
main tribes were Comanche and Utes. After the Revolt, the Comanches gradually approached to
equestrianism and finally transformed themselves into a fully mounted society. The amount of

Golden Retrievers
You feel the slobbery licks on you hands, you see the little fluff balls rolling around on the
ground. As you feel the silky softness of the little dogs beside you, and enjoy the feeling of energy
buzz around you, you re thinking about taking on home. Most dogs love to be around humans, they
are so energetic and cute. To get the dogyou want, you might need to know a little more about
them, for example, their sizes, breed, and the type of job they want, or need, to do.
All dogs have different sizes. Dogs can be big, small, tall, or fat. The size of the dog can be useful,
but but still remember that you need to take care of them. If you have a big dog he could be a bit
more rough than a small dog. A tall dog could be useful if you wanted him to be able to scare off
predators if you were camping. A small dog could be useful as a lap dog to anyone if they needed
to calm down. All dogs are useful in some way no matter their size.
Dogs come in many different types of breeds, and each breed usually determines what they do.
For example, a German Shepard is usually trained to do police work, like chasing robbers, or
sniffing out bombs. Golden Retrievers can be trained to be special service dogs, such as calming
people, or being trusted to guide blind people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some dogs herd sheep or cattle and others might be sniffing out drugs or bombs. Whatever their
job all of them are important. Family dogs usually have many jobs. They are friends, protectors,
hunters, and parents. Family dogs are probably the friendliest animals you will ever meet. Dogs
that are protectors or guardians usually bark at anything that is unusual to them. Hunting dogs
help you to find the animals if they are dead or alive. Dogs are parents too. They sometimes have
puppies to watch over, or the dogs feel like they need to watch over the children in the family they

Biblical Allusions in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald tells the story of a world lost to superficiality and greed.
Falsehood and deception are the currency which fuels the characters in the novel. Dwelling in this
fallen world, Fitzgerald has placed a fallen god. Gatsby is bathed in descriptions that identify him
as the Son of God. Fitzgeraldmakes a conscious effort to clothe this character with imagery and
actions to make him the patron deity of this fallen world, but Gatsbyis too much enveloped by his
surroundings to save them and is consumed in the attempt. Despite the biblicalallusions, strong
images and explicit statements identifying Gatsby with Christ, the prevailing tone of the novel
prevents him from being a Christ figure.

22:14). At the party, one of the girls states that Gatsby doesn t want trouble with anybody (48).
Jesus described himself as gentle and lowly in heart and commanded his followers to turn the
other cheek (Mt. 11:29, 5:29). When Nick prepares to leave the party, he looks for Gatsby to
apologize for not having known him in the garden (57). These words echo two major biblical
images. First, Adam hides from God in the Garden of Eden. Even more closely tied to this image
is the scene at the empty tomb where Mary Magdalene mistakes the risen Jesus for the gardener.
Gatsby s mysterious origins allude to the confusion about Jesus authority. Tom asks where is he
from, I mean? And what does he do? (53) When Jesus preaches in the synagogue at Nazareth, the
people ask Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? (Mt. 13:34) On at least
two occasions, Gatsby tells Nick that they are going up : first in the hydroplane and later when
they ride up to New York for lunch (57, 68). This ascendant diction suggests that, like Jesus, Gatsby
had come from God and was going to God (Jn. 13:3). It also follows the biblical convention by
which all travel to Jerusalem is described by the Hebrew word aliah : to go up. Fitzgerald even put
Jesus words on Gatsby s lips, as in the car when Gatsby asks Nick what s your opinion of me
anyhow? (69) This echoes Jesus journeying question of his

Abortion Thesis Essay
Printer Friendly Version
Thesis
Abortion is a totally unacceptable, cruel and unethical practice and
should be considered illegal except under some special cases and medical
circumstances that indicate a danger to the mother. Our judicial system
must consider the ethical and moral aspects of abortion as an intrinsic
part of the problem when approaching this social issue. The recent banning
of the partial birth abortion is a huge stride in the positive direction.
Introduction
Abortion is the one of the most debated social issues of this
century. The controversy as to the right that man has over the life of a
baby in the fetus and in controlling its entry into the world is a much
debated topic. Abortion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore they argue that the
embryo cannot be treated as a human being until such a time that it is
fully developed to live outside the mother s womb. So they consider using
the abortion pill as perfectly right and acceptable method of terminating
pregnancy.
Pro Life
On the other hand we have the Pro life group, which opines that
abortion in any form to be an unacceptable and inhuman practice and nothing
short of brutal murder and infringement of the rights of the baby in the
fetus. The Pro life group views the problem from an entirely different
perspective. This group considers that life begins as soon as the baby is
conceived and hence abortion is viewed as a breach of rights of the baby.
However the group approves abortion as the last and only resort in cases of
emergency wherein the life of both the baby and the mother or at least one
of them is at stake. Abortion is also approved in cases wherein the child
is abnormal with severe birth defects.
Partial Birth abortion
This is the worst and the cruelest form of abortion. The Woman s
cervix is dilated for two days and then on the third day the Abortionist
pulls out the baby by its feet and then stabs the soft skull and sucks away
its brain using a vacuum tube. As against the strict medical grounds, which
suggested abortions for protecting the mother (due to malformation of child
in the embryo), it was

Canad A Beneficial Thing
Canada in the early stages was not how it was today, especially in the area of multiculturalism.
Multiculturalism in Canada during the 1900 s was rare and not spoken of. In fact, the British
people in Canada were against it. They came up with laws like the Chinese Head Tax , the
Continuous Journey Regulation and residential schools in order to make it hard for foreigners to
come and live in Canada. After awhile, Canada decided to become an independent country and
separated from the British rule . With this change Canada had a different way of seeing immigrants.
They started to see that immigrants coming to Canada was a beneficial thing. Canada was the first
country in the world to adopt multiculturalismas an official policy. By doing... Show more content

Back then, Canada was an extension of the British rule and was ruled by the whites. Britain
being as powerful as they were in the 1900 s, had a vision of Canada being Home away from
home . In other words, the British wanted Canada to be for just the whites. With this mentality
put in their heads the Canadians started to enforce laws to try and keep Canada as white as
possible . One of them was the Chinese Head Tax which was a tax that was put on every Chinese
person that wanted to enter Canada. At the beginning, when the law was first put in place, it
only cost fifty dollars for every Chinese immigrant. However, as time went on the price
multiplied, as it rose to an astonishing five hundred dollars . This was a huge problem for the
Chinese as they did not make a lot of money, they found it very difficult paying for the head taxes.
This resulted in fewer Chinese immigrants coming to Canada, which was what the Canadians and
British wanted to happen. Another law Canada enforced was, the Continuous Journey regulation
which was introduced in the early 1900 s. This law only allowed entry to Asian passengers that
had sailed on a continuous journey from their home land to Canada. Enforcing this law the
government knew that not many Asians would stay on a cramped ship for several months due to
the spread of sicknesses and diseases, so they were satisfied with this law and were still motivated
to keep Canada s immigration levels low. Another act

1.Raised bed gardening has many advantages, especially when gardening in an urban setting.
They allow for better quality soil, more plants per square foot, and less weeding due to a denser
canopy (especially if the soil added to beds is weed free). Working of the soil and garden
maintenance are less strenuous due to the added height of the beds, but usually have to be done
by hand. Beds are most often made of untreated lumber, cinder blocks, or plastic. This type of
garden can be ideal for areas were children or the elderly want to help with upkeep, as the beds are
more accessible. Another added benefit is the ability to adjust the soil or watering habit to a
particular set of crops to improve yields. If you want to grow a

American Journal Reviews of Child and Family Homelessness

Now? American Journal of Public Health 103.2 (2013): E1 E10. ProQuest. Web. 1 Mar. 2014.
Roy Grant, M.A., et al. conducted a review of family and childhood homelessness over a course
between a twenty five year span of the 1980 s to 2013. They reviewed journal articles, government
reports, and news stories to find any changes in conditions or the amount of family and childhood
homelessness. The review concluded family and childhood homelessness still exists but at a
larger scale than in the earlier years and a decrease in the attention given to childhood and family
homelessness. They also reported some of the factors leading to family and childhood
homelessness were the decline in economic conditions, increase of evictions, economic inequality,
and domestic violence. The review also noted a negative impact on a child s health and well being
and a child s behavioral health. Rent subsidies and shelter based programs have shown evidence to
aid in preventing childhood and family homelessness. They made suggestions to increase nutritional
programs as well as health and mental health services. This review supports my claim that
homelessness affects children in many ways and the number of homeless children in America is
growing.

What Does Anthropology Mean To Me
Anthropology and what it means was very interesting to me but the thing that spoke out to me is
holistic perspective. This is a fundamental principle of anthropology, that the various parts of our
human culture and biology must be viewed in the broadest possible context in order to understand
their interconnections and interdependence . This means we must have an open mind when
studying anthropologyand see the world with a new pair of eyes; not those, which only know our
own culture. In a way anthropologist are scientists performing experiments and have no personal say
in what is the correct outcome of that experiment. Therefore anthropologist are seeking to
understand how humans interact and their belief system; as opposed to trying to

Companion robots are being developed at the moment and they are going to be used as
companions for children. While the majority of the European Union citizens responded
positively towards the use of robots in the future, this positive attitude was relative to the
specific context those robots were applied to, as 60% believe robots should be banned from
taking care of children and the elderly. This leads to many challenges and complications that
need to be addressed in order to be able apply this technology. This will need a lot of careful
planning and execution to be performed correctly. To make humans more comfortable with the
idea of robots taking care of their children, robots should be programmed to be more predictable
and have certain set of limited actions towards children. Those robots can range from
entertainment for children during their playtime or for rather delicate tasks such as interacting
with the children and learning from their encounters. Robots will also be used to instill desirable
traits in children such as honesty and kindness. This will lead to a more positive response towards

If the excess biomass materials are compacted to briquettes near their source they can be
transported to longer distances, stored for more duration unaffected much by humidity [9] and
put into versatile uses. There are many methods of densification available and screw briquetting
is one good choice for producing high quality briquettes, a sample of which is shown in fig 2.
These types of briquettes have uniform dimensions, high calorific value, less moisture are
desirable feed stock for gasification systems, process heating and power generation applications.
But the screw briquetting technology is having its own shortcomings like, the life of its parts like
screw and mould are very short due to high wear rate, need of skilled labors to run the machine
and wastage of energy for heating the raw material and the mould. The heating process is needed
to eliminate moisture and volatile matters and to melt the lignin content in the raw material which
acts like a binder. The quality of briquettes produced justifies the use of skilled labor. Due to high
wear rate of screw and mould particularly the screw which have very short life about 4 to 15 hrs
[10] there are regular stoppages of production, reconstruction of tools and wastage of
output.Research works are going on all over the world in designing compact briquetting machines,

William Carlos Williams s Poem Marriage
Poems are the best to express thoughts to readers, many writers choose to write poems to speak
their feelings which plain ordinary texts will not do. Three poems have special ideas about
marriage, they are: Marriage by William Carlos Williams, Marriea Love by Kuan Tao Sheng, and
an untitled one by Apache Song. All three of them have a central idea of marriage; two people are
one individual after marriage, one cannot separate from the other one. These poems are short but
they carry deep morals about marriage. They have a common characteristics where they all
visualize the bonding between the couple into things we feel comfortable about. There are three
main aspects of poems content, structure, and tone I would discuss about how the authors uses
similar writing styles to bring out the common idea behind. All contents of the three poems are
very visual. In Marriage, Williams describes men and women as streams and fields and in Marriea
Love, Kuan describes them as clays. Similarly, Song describes the relationship between married
couples as solutions to problem, like, shelter for rain and warmth for coldness. Visualizing helps
reader to understand the author s point of view on marriage. We can see that all three of them
implies that, after a couple is married they become one individual and should not and cannot be
separated. Marriage says that men and women as streams and fields. We often see them appear
very closely and one another cannot be absent. He

  • 3. The Road Not Taken Research Paper Essay The Road Not Taken is a very popular poem written by the renowned poet Robert Frost. This poem tells a story of a man caught between two diverged roads and uncertain on which path he should take. These two roads are quite obviously metaphors for the different paths you can take in life, but what is less obvious is which path the narrator should take, and which he should leave behind. Throughout the poem the narrator is constantly second guessing himself on which of the two roads he should take. He reassures himself by saying that one of the roads seemed more grassy than the other and also seemed less traveled upon. But shortly after he reveals that in actuality the two roads were both quite the same. In the end he finally makes a decision but shows much regret after making it. This poem may not be much of a fairytale but Robert Frost does have a theme behind this story, which is to make the best of your opportunities. Since you can obviously not be able to see the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first line of the poem Frost already begins to lay out his setting for the reader saying, Two roads diverged in a yellow wood (1). This allows the reader to visually see what the narrator sees, which makes the poem much more powerful and realistic. Also Frost had to use imagery to put reader in the narrator s shoes, so it s as if the reader also has to make the decision on which road is the best to take. Even though the roads are not any different from each other, the details the narrator gives makes even the reader for a moment believe that one is better than the other. This manipulation that Frost creates using imagery makes the reader experience first hand the theme that he made which is to make the best of your situation. Frost was able to put the reader in the same situation and cause them to even weigh their options for a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I remember waking up to the light. The brightest of lights was shining down on me. Looking around, I began to question my existence. I couldn t remember anything. Actually, that s not true I remember dying; or at least I thought that is what happened. The sensation of drowning was the only thing that remained clear in my mind. • 5. Dewey s Identity In this journal, I will be characterizing Klaus. I characterized him as being both intelligent and quite knowledgeable about literature. To begin with, Klaus is quite intelligent and wise. For example, when the Baudelaires are at the hotel they need to keep hidden, so they decide to go undercover as concierges. Being as wise as he is, when ever Klaus would be confronted by someone he would always respond as vaguely as possible to conceal his identity. When Frank or Ernest asked him who he was he answered with I m a concierge (Snicket 118). This shows that Klaus is a deep thinker and he thinks before he speaks. He tried to respond as vaguely and non suspiciously as possible. He did this because depending on which identical twin manager he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I predict that next the Baudelaires will go to look for the sugar bowl, and while they are doing that they will try to hide and escape the attention of Dewey s death. To begin with, one of the first things that I predict will happen is that the Baudelaires will hide in the hotel and will try to escape the attention of Dewey s death. In the first place, the public and visitors in the hotel went crazy after the death of Dewey, and they are looking for the Baudelaires or any other people who might have been involved in the death. The hotel was quite chaotic and everyone was talking about who might have killed him. If they do not decide to hide or run away they will most likely get caught. During all of the chaos someone shouted, We d better hurry downstairs, before they escape (Snicket 242). This shows that a mob of people have already started a search party to find the killer. From this it can be inferred that the Baudelaires might leave the hotel or hide somewhere so they will not get caught. The Baudelaires were apart of the death of Dewey Denouement, so the hotel guest will most likely find them sooner or later. In addition, the Baudelaires might hide because Count Olaf has finally found them in the hotel, and he will want to catch them. If they do not find a place to hide or disguise sooner or later Count Olaf is bound to find them. Count Olaf is constantly trying to kidnap the Baudelaires, and is trying to get their family fortune. Now that he knows where they are it can be inferred that he is definitely going after them. Especially now, the Baudelaires most likely know that Count Olaf is after them because he knows where they are, so they will most likely hide and try to get away from him. Furthermore, the Baudelaires might decide to hide or run away because a suspicious man came up to them and asked if they needed a taxi. This could be a quick getaway from the hotel and the attention of the murder. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Lottery, by Shirley Jackson and Eudora Welty’s A Worn... In literature there are many different critical views, in which all of them have very distinctive ideas and beliefs. The value of these critical views is decided by the reader and may be different to each one. When a reader approaches a work of literature they bring their own views and experiences with them, so each reader will read each story differently. And even the same reader will never read the same story the same way twice due to things that may have changed in his or her life. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery (509 15) and Eudora Weltys A Worn Path(568 74) one reader my feel sympathy while another does not fill anything. So what is the correct response to these stories? In The Lottery the author uses many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next character would be Mr. Graves which one can blatantly see the ominous mean of death and the dead being bared in a grave. Then Old Man Warner which on a first reading one may not see because it s not so much a double meaning as it is a play on words, warn er. In which one could gather that since he is the oldest man in the town he has been there for a long time and could warn the other of The Lottery . After that is Mrs. Delacroix which could also be a hard one to catch but the literal translation in French to de la Croix is of the cross. So when a reader sees all of this on their subsequent readings one would see from the introduction of all of the characters that there is a somber warning (lively men die without warning by crucifixion) for Tessie Hutchinson; who shows up late and says that she Clean forgot what day it was, (Jackson 511) showing that she is a free spirit. This makes her stand out in the story letting the reader know the warning is for her. Then last but not least there is Mrs. Dunbar who had to draw for her husband because he had a broken leg and ever since the early days of sacrificial killings they have never offered someone or something with broken bones because it would not please the gods and after all that was the whole point of the killing. • 8. A Brief Economic History of Argentina In 1502 European sailors arrived ashore the Argentinean land during the Amerigo Vespucci voyage in 1502. A Spanish navigator named Juan Diaz de Solias visited Argentina during the year of 1516. The Spanish people created a permanent colony on the site of Buenos Aires in 1580, which was built overland and greatly resembled those built in Peru. From this established colony the regions of Rio de la Plata and Buenos Airesbecome the center of trade in Central America and throughout Europe. In the year of 1816 on July 9th the region of Buenos Aires would declare for their independence from Spanish opposition. After their victory over the Spanish, two groups would embark in lengthy conflicts between one another on who would/should control the region of Buenos Aires, and the two groups being the centralists and the federalists. • 9. Analysis Of Walt Disney s Sleeping Beauty For The Past... The Walt Disney Corporation over the past century has become a phenomenon of its own, transcending into the lives of families globally. Recently, a popular trend has been to reinvent their one time classic films, Sleeping Beauty for instance. With the release of Maleficent, Disney sought to change the perception of the film and retell the story with a new spin. Evidently, a change this large caused mixed reviews in the reception of the film. However, one group that was strongly appreciative of the new rendition was that of feminism. With Maleficent s story retold in a manner supporting a strong female lead, rather than Aurora who slept through the majority of the film, Disney set the stage of female empowerment. In the article Imagining... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The focus of the article highlights the differences of presented in the film between masculine society, King Stefan s Kingdom, and the natural landscape of the Moors, cared for by Maleficent. The article claims, Maleficent communicates an awareness of ecological pedagogical practices that serve to liberate audience members in the midst of environmental collapse (Hatfield 81). Through this, it is reasoned that Disney is engaged in issues surrounding both civilization collapse and the feminist agency within all this. The article further promotes that nature is subjected to be beneath culture as industrialization is at the root of the degradation of the natural environment. The idea is paralleled within Maleficent, between the Kingdom of Stefan and the Moors. The queer relations aspect is promoted through Aurora and Maleficent s atypical relationship, which ultimately bridges the gap between the two kingdoms, unifying culture and nature. The argument pursued in Imagining Ecofeminist Communities via Queer Alliances in Disney s Maleficent is strongly clarified through supporting works. The ecofeminism idea that is pushed outlines the cross between environmentalism and feminism. Environmentalism analyzes work to analyze why nature is treated inferior to culture while the feminist movement shows interest in uncovering why women are treated inferior to men. • 10. A Comparison of Two Commencement Speeches Essay Graduating from school is only one of the essential tools for a young person to have a successful life. A person endures many long years of schooling, and then the graduation day finally arrives. That special day is one of the most momentous days in a young student s life. Happiness and sadness are the two emotions a person will feel on that special day. A student will experience happiness because of a significant milestone that was completed in the student s life. The sad emotions will arise because of a terrifying new chapter in the book of life that is about to begin. Both Bradley Whitford and His Holinessthe Dalai Lamagive their commencement speeches by using humor to relax the mood of the crowd, making light of their fame, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Next, both of the speakers incorporate their fame to try and get a meaningful message across to the young people before going out into the real world. Being famous does not mean that you are a perfect person without flaws, and fame takes hard work and dedication. Whitford talks about why in the world, the college would opt instead for a glorified circus clown from a television show (1). By poking fun at himself and not acting superior, he is letting the audience know that everyone is equal. Whitford establishes a common ground with the students, and it makes the students feel comfortable listening to his words and advice. Whitford talks about how he only has two areas of expertise reproduction and acting (2). That means that all people have an area in their lives where they can be considered an expert. The Dalai Lama expresses to the students that he will try and speak directly through broken English (1). Immediately that tells the graduating class that the Dalai Lama is not perfect, and he has to work hard for his place in society. His English was not perfect, but he essentially told the students with courage anything is possible. Some people look up to famous people, but both speakers try and establish themselves as ordinary people trying to find success in their lives. Incorporating their faults into the speeches lets the graduates know that it takes dedication and hard work to achieve success. Even imperfect people can have what it takes to find a job that ... • 11. Introduction to Optical Coherence Tomography Introduction to Optical Coherence Tomography Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a method of imaging which uses near infrared or optical light scattering to produce three dimensional images of a medium. Medical applications are of particular interest, since OCT allows retinal and other tissues to be imaged with high resolution. I. Introduction Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a method of imaging which uses near infrared or optical light scattering to produce three dimensional images of a medium. In particular, this paper will focus on the application of OCT to medical imaging. Like most radar imaging, an OCT device emits EM radiation and constructs an image based on the light reflected back from an object. However, OCT differs from traditional radar in several important ways. First, because OCT uses a much shorter wavelength of light than radio frequency radar, OCT emissions only propagate about 1 mm into biological tissues. This limits the possible images from OCT as compared to MRI or CT scans, so OCT is only appropriate for some specific types of medical imaging, such as retinal scans. The benefit of using a shorter wavelength is an increase in imaging resolution. A typical OCT image has a resolution of 10 20 Вµm. At this resolution very small biological structures are easily resolved and can be analyzed. Second, OCT requires that returning radiation be collected from many different angles. Traditional radar imaging is collected from one, or at most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Understanding The Skeletal System The Skeletal system is a vital part of the human body due to the appendicular skeleton helping our bodies lift up objects, the axial skeleton helping us stand upright, but also, some bones can break and develop bone diseases, yet there are still many ways to prevent it. Bones First, we need to understand what a bone actually is. You can hear bone dry on a daily basis but actually bones are actually quite alive with nerves , blood vessels etc. Without bones in our body we would just be a blob and unable to move anything in our body. A bone divides into three layers periosteum, haversian canals and bone marrow. The first layer is the periosteum layer, it covers the whole part of the bone minus areas where cartilage connects the bone to a joint. The second layer is known as the Haversian canal which transports nerves and blood vessels throughout the human body. The third layer is known as compact bone or spongy bone, spongy Page 2 bone gives support against the ends of the bone. In modern English, chivalry means the ideals, virtues, or characteristics of knights. But in actuality, the phrases quot;orders of chivalry quot; and quot;orders of knighthood quot; are essentially synonymous. Succinctly, a knight was a professional soldier. On the contrary to this not so balanced father, son relationship, heredity enters the knightly class in the 13th century. The son of a knight is automatically a squire, thus making him eligible for knighthood on the basis of his ancestry. Men who were free provided military service, either personally or (if they were rich enough) using others services. Thus, a man who held his estate in knight s fee owed service as a knight to his lord. A more sizeable vassal, when called by his liege, would summon his knights and form a contingent in his liege s army. In the late 13th century, a decision of the Parliament in Paris forbade the count of Artois from making unfree men into knights without the king s consent; interesting to note, the two men who had been so knighted were allowed to remain knights subject to the payment of a fine. Knighthood did not become a hereditary class in England, and instead the knightly class (those eligible to be knights) became the nucleus of the gentry. As a military institution, knighthood was on the wane from the late 13th century on. The end of feudal society meant that sovereigns gained a monopoly on war making, and the old form of military service owed to one s immediate lord became obsolete. • 40. How Horses Changed The Lifestyle Of Indians The introduction of horses has changed the lifestyle of Indians dramatically. The change, however, has a good and a bad side. In the article, HГ¤mГ¤lГ¤inen indicated that Horses did bring new possibilities, prosperity, and power to Plains Indians, but they also brought destabilization, dispossession, and destruction (834). It happened in the late sixteenth century when the Spanish approached the Great Plain. The horse changed the lives of buffalo hunters who turned to hunt for trade from that for survival. The core of Comancbe pastoralism was intensive trade in horses and mules, which was stimulated by a shifting political and economic geography (HГ¤mГ¤lГ¤inen, 837). The tribes of the southern Plains had to make a balance between the trade economy based on horses and the subsistence economy based on bison. The southern Plains Indiansbecame pastoral people who mainly lived on hunting and horse keeping. On the positive side, the horse has brought wealth to Southern Plains Indians. On the negative side, it ended up as a disaster for the grassland ecology and led to famine and drought. Pueblo Revolt was led by the Pueblo Indians who drove the Spanish out of New Mexico, confiscated their horse herds, and embarked on a vigorous livestock (HГ¤mГ¤lГ¤inen, 836). The main tribes were Comanche and Utes. After the Revolt, the Comanches gradually approached to equestrianism and finally transformed themselves into a fully mounted society. Falsehood and deception are the currency which fuels the characters in the novel. Dwelling in this fallen world, Fitzgerald has placed a fallen god. Fitzgeraldmakes a conscious effort to clothe this character with imagery and actions to make him the patron deity of this fallen world, but Gatsbyis too much enveloped by his surroundings to save them and is consumed in the attempt. Jesus described himself as gentle and lowly in heart and commanded his followers to turn the other cheek (Mt. 11:29, 5:29). When Nick prepares to leave the party, he looks for Gatsby to apologize for not having known him in the garden (57). These words echo two major biblical images. First, Adam hides from God in the Garden of Eden. Even more closely tied to this image is the scene at the empty tomb where Mary Magdalene mistakes the risen Jesus for the gardener. Gatsby s mysterious origins allude to the confusion about Jesus authority. Tom asks where is he from, I mean? And what does he do? (53) When Jesus preaches in the synagogue at Nazareth, the people ask Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? (Mt. 13:34) On at least two occasions, Gatsby tells Nick that they are going up : first in the hydroplane and later when they ride up to New York for lunch (57, 68). This ascendant diction suggests that, like Jesus, Gatsby had come from God and was going to God (Jn. 13:3). It also follows the biblical convention by which all travel to Jerusalem is described by the Hebrew word aliah : to go up. Fitzgerald even put Jesus words on Gatsby s lips, as in the car when Gatsby asks Nick what s your opinion of me anyhow? (69) This echoes Jesus journeying question of his ... With this mentality put in their heads the Canadians started to enforce laws to try and keep Canada as white as possible . One of them was the Chinese Head Tax which was a tax that was put on every Chinese person that wanted to enter Canada. At the beginning, when the law was first put in place, it only cost fifty dollars for every Chinese immigrant. However, as time went on the price multiplied, as it rose to an astonishing five hundred dollars . This was a huge problem for the Chinese as they did not make a lot of money, they found it very difficult paying for the head taxes. This resulted in fewer Chinese immigrants coming to Canada, which was what the Canadians and British wanted to happen. Another law Canada enforced was, the Continuous Journey regulation which was introduced in the early 1900 s. This law only allowed entry to Asian passengers that had sailed on a continuous journey from their home land to Canada. The review concluded family and childhood homelessness still exists but at a larger scale than in the earlier years and a decrease in the attention given to childhood and family homelessness. They also reported some of the factors leading to family and childhood homelessness were the decline in economic conditions, increase of evictions, economic inequality, and domestic violence. Three poems have special ideas about marriage, they are: Marriage by William Carlos Williams, Marriea Love by Kuan Tao Sheng, and an untitled one by Apache Song. All three of them have a central idea of marriage; two people are one individual after marriage, one cannot separate from the other one. These poems are short but they carry deep morals about marriage. They have a common characteristics where they all visualize the bonding between the couple into things we feel comfortable about. There are three main aspects of poems content, structure, and tone I would discuss about how the authors uses similar writing styles to bring out the common idea behind. All contents of the three poems are very visual. In Marriage, Williams describes men and women as streams and fields and in Marriea Love, Kuan describes them as clays.
