The Wolf In Quentin Tarantino s Pulp Fiction
Just because you are a character doesn t mean that you have character. This was said by The Wolf in
Quentin Tarantino s movie Pulp Fiction. Tarantino opens our minds to a word with no ordinary days
and especially no ordinary people. And that s just what this movie isn t, ordinary. There are so many
twist and turns, with storylines out of order and violence mixed in with everyday conversations. It s a
movie that can get you confused and grossed out but also excited and thrilled. It s so casually not
casual and as a viewer I have such mixed feelings on it. Pulp Fiction tells you not only one story but
multiple on life through the eyes of mobsters and criminals. I stand by its slot on AFI s top 100 list due
to its attention grabbing characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tarantino develops an array of crooks and gangsters who work in a business of money and drugs. He
makes them indulge in little conversations to express their perspectives on life and what exactly goes
through the minds of these so called ¨bad¨ men. Hitmen Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega (played by
Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta) do some pretty terrible things but still manage to have
conversations that normal people have on a daily basis. For example they were driving to kill a bunch
of boys for screwing over their boss and on the way there all the talked about was what European
countries call their hamburgers at McDonalds. I found this very comical because they are literally
driving to an apartment to hunt down these men and that is what is on there mind. Even right before
they walk in they talk about the deeper meaning behind giving a foot massage. They are so nonchalant
about everything they do and I almost admire that. Of course what they are doing is wrong but the
way they make light of the situation infers the fact of their perspective on life. People don t need to be
serious and stern all the time and Vincent and Jules prove that. That s how the movie kept me
entertained because I could relate to the characters. There weren t just hit men with no interior but
men who could be normal. I also really enjoyed the character Mia Wallace (played by Uma Thurman).
Although she was addicted to drugs she gave the audience an inside to her mind and what she thought
of. Like in the movie she talked about how if two people were so comfortable with one another then
they can sit in silence and it wouldn t be weird. She quotes ¨That s when you know you ve found
somebody really special, when you can just shut the f*** up for a minute and comfortably share a
silence.¨ I find that to be very true. If you truly are comfortable then not talking should just be normal.
Pulp Fiction does a great job composing

Waiting Times At Clinics And The General Organization Of...
Introduction
This paper serves as an introduction to a dissertation. It shall introduce the scope of the dissertation by
discussing the problem, the background of the problem, the purpose of the proposal, the scope of the
proposal and the general organization of the proposal. The thesis of the dissertation is wait times at
clinics and how that time can be reduced to obtain efficiency at clinics.
Problem Statement
The subject of this paper is waiting times at clinics and how that time can be minimized. What is wait
time at clinics? Wait times at clinics can be described as the amount of time a patient takes to be
attended to when they visit a hospital. Patient experience is one factor that is rarely put into
consideration by health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Public hospitals are notorious for extended wait times at clinics. This has led patients who can afford
to prefer private clinics where they are seen on an appointment basis. The wait times at private clinics
is considered shorter though not the best at all times, than that in public clinics. Patients who may not
afford visiting private clinics are left with no choice but to attend public hospitals.
Background of the Problem
One of the indicators of quality service and efficient service delivery is patient wait times. Patient wait
times at clinics are a policy issue that needs to be addressed if hospitals foresee a change in its
operations and operational costs. Wait times can be attributed to poor planning and coordination in
hospitals. Wait times are experienced before consultation, during consultation and after consultation.
Health care centers typically have different people who provide different services all in the treatment
process. For an ordinary routine visit, there are professionals stationed at the reception to receive
clients and client information mostly regarding mode of payment. There are the nurses who are
stationed at the triage to measure the patients vitals. In between that and consultation, there are people
who oversee that transition, mostly nurses. The coordination of these activities carried out by different
persons is what results in extended

other side effects went unseen. Invisible co2 emissions in the United kingdom rose from virtually zero
to over a million tons per year by the end of the nineteenth century. During America s twentieth

Despite growing awareness of the importance of a healthy environment and successes in pollution

Main Roles Of Housekeeping
THE ROLE THAT HOUSEKEEPING PLAYS IN THE OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT OF
HOTELS.
If we need to review the role that housekeeping plays in the operations and management of hotel.
Firstly we have to define what is it Housekeeping in general. House Keeping is a heart of the hotel
management industry. Hotels, motels, and inns around the world can succeed without ballrooms,
meeting rooms, swimming pools, or even restaurants. But the one thing every successful lodging
establishment must have, regardless of it s size, location, or industry segment, is clean rooms. Room
sales generally drive 70 percent or more of the revenues generated by lodging establishments. Without
a well managed housekeeping department, there would be no rooms to sell (Martin R. J.,1998) Each

Housekeeping department plays essential role for front office and by description of some operations
we can understand principle of this work in life. Guestrooms in lodging properties are sold by the
front office. The front office desk must know at every given moment what rooms have been cleaned
and are available for the guests. Housekeeping must provide the front desk with a listing of rooms that
are ready for occupancy so guests can be checked in. In the communication between two departments
is poor or breaks down, delays in guest check in will occur , or people will be checked into rooms that
are thought to be ready but that in fact are occupied or not ready. If this happens often, the hotel s
reputation will suffer. Usually work day begins very early in the morning, when the front desk
provides the housekeeping department with a report called the night ckerk s room report. The main
idea of this report is to inform all workers about the status of all guestrooms in the property as it
appears on the front desk

Persuasive Essay On Deforestation
Deforestation Every day we use paper, and every day we sit on or use furniture that is made of wood.
Look around you, how many things are not made out of wood? Deforestation is the destruction or
removal of forests. In fact, 50,000 trees are being cut down every minute. The issue deforestation links
directly with the issues of air pollution, loss of animal habitats and climate change as well as several
health problems. Deforestation can be solved if everyone helped, but not everyone has the same
perspective. For example, some world leaders like Donald Trump do not believe that climate change is
an issue, and a lot of people do not care about deforestation because they are unaware or because they
do not care about anything beside themselves. I became interested in this topic after knowing that in
countries where deforestation is a bigger issue, people are less healthy. Although Canada does not
struggle with deforestation as much compared to China and the US, I do not want the same to happen.
One issue that deforestation causes is extinction the permanent loss of species. Each species is unique
and different but most share the same home: the forest. While others say that logging creates jobs and
lowers the risk of uncontrollable wildfires, what about all the animals? Where will they go when they
no longer have a home? According to experts, 99% of all existing species that have ever existed are
now gone. The loss of species may result in environmental repercussion. All living things are
connected, if the connection is broken, nature would no longer be balanced. The government need to
raise awareness of citizens, a possible solution to this would be hempcrete. Hemprete is a material
made of weed, lime and water that can be used as a substitute for wood in houses. This method can
save a lot of trees, since 44% of wood goes to construction. Second of all, deforestation has many
unexpected effects to the environment and may result in negative consequences such as climate
change. Tree protect the soil from erosion, they produce oxygen and store carbon dioxide along with
purifying the air and controlling the climate. When forests are cut down, the carbon stored in the trees
will be released back into the

Description
Bangladesh has some oil reserves near Haripur in the eastern hilly district of Sylhet, but these have yet
to be developed. The Haripur reserves are estimated at 40 Mbbl, and the total resource is likely to be
much higher..
The search of oil and gas in the area constituting Bangladesh began in the later part of the 19th century
through some isolated geological mapping. The first serious attempt to find oil and gas was
undertaken in Sitakund in 1908 by the Indian Petroleum Prospecting Company. During 1923 31

there was a reported occurrence of oil. A total of 6 exploratory wells were drilled, the deepest being

Lu Xun s Medicine, The Authorities Within The Chinese...
In Lu Xun s Medicine , the authorities within the Chinese government executed a young revolutionist,
Yu Hsia (Xia), for his nonconforming political ideals compared to China s political ideals at the early
twentieth century. After his execution, Old Chuan brought a roll of steamed bread to soak in Xia s
blood since he and his wife believed blood would cure their fatally ill son, Little Chuan (Hua). At the
last part of this non chronological short story, the reader discovered that Hua recently passed away,
and buried directly opposite from Xia s grave, separated only by the path. In particular, during Xia s
superstitious mother visit to Xia s grave, she not only grieved over his death, but observed a crow on a
leafless bough. Seeking for hope, she wanted the crow to fly on to his grave as a sign of her son s
presence. The crow initially showed no sign of movement, which made her raise the question: What
does it mean? Then, the crow stretch[ed] its wings, brace[d] itself to take off, then [flew] like an arrow
towards the far horizon. Although the crow did not fly on to Xia s grave, the crow still represented Xia
s presence, or even Xia himself. The crow s action was symbolic of what Xia would have done if he
were still alive. It was clear that Xia s mother had superstitious beliefs when she waited for the crow
to fly on to Xia s grave as a sign of his presence. Even though the crow did not listen to the mother s
request, the crow served as a representation of Xia. When

Describe The Main Hypothesis Tested In The Study
1. Describe the main hypothesis tested in the study.
The main hypothesis being tested within the study was whether or not the fusiform gyrus was a
Region of Interest (ROI) that specialised in the perception of the human face. This main hypothesis
was confirmed in Part 1 of testing and was thus expanded in Part II and III, in which they eliminated
alternative hypothesis.
2. Explain why this new ROI technique is important for fMRI research.
The Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a functional neuroimaging procedure that used
MRI technology to measure our brains activity through blood flow changes and our voxels.
In past experiments the researcher would have been required to scan images of the entire brain for
each comparison, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Explain one of the alternative accounts of the function of the FFA and how the current study is able to
refute (prove wrong) this account.
Imaging studies in the past have reported that the region of the fusiform gyrus is more active during
face recognition than object viewing, during face matching than location matching and during viewing
normal faces other than scrambled faces or textures. This research was a great beginning, but it does
not establish that this FFA is specifically involved in face recognition, as there is a range of alternative
interpretations of what can activate our brains. These alternative interpretations include low level
feature extraction, visual attention that is greater in faces and recognition of basic items and
recognition of human objects.
To test the first hypothesis the researcher ran an initial test to determine that the Region of Interest was
the fusiform gyrus. Following this he then measured the activity in this specific region to subjects
using four comparison tasks. Each of these tasks tested the alternative accounts that were previously
listed.
Part III tested one of these alternative accounts for faces compared with another human object e.g
hands. In these tests the data that was collected displayed higher intensity reactions in the ROI when
parts of the face were compared to viewing human

Nicholas Brothers Research Paper
The 20th century saw a shift in dance as new forms were created and artists began entertaining
audiences in new ways. The rise of Jazz music and the swing era allowed a couple of tap dancers,
commonly known as the Nicholas Brothers, to gain fame. The Nicholas Brothers questioned what
dance could be by pushing the human body to the limits the likes of which had not been seen before.
Other innovations in their dance such as their vernacular style, informal training, and unique
musicality directly opposed many of the virtues of classical ballet. Through my own interpretations of
their work as well as through the use of primary and secondary sources it is clear to see that the
Nicholas Brothers opposed classical ballet through their style, musicality, ... Show more content on

One of the primary ways in which Tap, swing and jazz dance deviate completely from ballet are how
the styles organically developed into social dances. Ballet started as a social court dance however at it
s inception was segregated from it s roots as something purely performative. Jazz dance forms on the
other hand such as tap dance kept many of the swing vernaculars which created them in their
performance. That is to say that when watching a tap dancer perform on stage (with a traditional
deportment) and then watching a swing dancer in a dance hall, one can see the similarities in
movement qualities and even certain steps (such as the shim sham or Attack Annies ). From this it can
be argued that Tap dancers (as well as all vernacular jazz dancers of the day) question what dance is
by keeping its social roots alive even after it had transitioned onto the stage. The fact that tap dance
was a part of the vernacular dance of the day (and still had a casual culture about it) allowed that the
Nicholas Brothers to learn to dance without ever taking a class (Frank 67). Where as a ballet dancer
may spend long hours training at the bar and in class Fayard Nicholas learned to tap dance purely
through watching

The Mission Movie Discussion Questions
The Mission is about the missionaries in South America in the 18th century, with the main characters
being Mendoza and Father Gabriel. Mendoza evolves from a slave trader to a missionary partnered
with Father Gabriel. Their goal is to have a society with the Guarani and not have conflict with either
the Portuguese or Spanish. There are also governors who find them dangerous. Working as opponents,
they make it a goal to shut down missionaries and capture or kill the Guarani. In the end, they are
successful and the movie documents the fall of the mission, and the deaths of Mendezo and Father

Compare And Contrast Middle Colonies And New England Colonies
During the seventeenth century, Europeans established colonies in North America. The English
colonies were originally established because proprietors from England were granted charters to govern
lands. Other European colonies were established around trading posts. Over time, the English gained
control of the thirteen colonies through force or purchase; eventually, the regions were known as the
Southern, Middle, and New England Colonies. Although both New England and Southern colonies
share several commonalities, they differ in how they treat women, Africans, their religion, and their
government. Both colonial sections have unique ways of how they treat Africans. New England had

They both had more rights than they would if they had stayed in England. In both colonies the women
knew how to take care of the sick and practiced medicine. Although this is true, in the New England
colonies, widows can own properties, while in the Southern colonies they need a man to have
property. Besides religion, the treating of women is one of the biggest similarities the colonies have.
Both colonies differ tremendously in their government. In the New England colonies, they were
mostly self governed. They had town meetings, where people could speak out and state their own
opinions. These people could also vote for who would represent them. In the South, counties were
basic unit. They had sheriffs and a justice of the peace. All of the colonies started out as royal
colonies, but New England colonies began to form charter government. The government in the
colonies was based off of religion. In the New England colonies, they had more religious freedom.
Excluding the Quakers, most forms of Christianity were accepted.Puritans and Pilgrims migrated to
New England. There, the children were given a good education in order to be able to read the bible. In
the Southern colonies, most of them were Catholic. The people of the churches were the ones who had
control over the government. People in the north were trying to get away from English religions, yet
the south was embracing

The Poems Advice For My Son By J. Peter Meinke And Daddy
The poems Advice to My Son by J. Peter Meinke and Daddy by Sylvia Plath are the closest to polar
opposites in regards to father figures. The father in Advice to My Son seems to be very loving and
concerned about his sons future, while the father in Daddy is quite the opposite. Sylvia Plath paints
her father in a very evil, overbearing light. Her words ooze with disdain and hate for her father. The
juxtaposition of these two poems shine light on the authors personal relationship with their fathers. J.
Peter Meinke s Advice to my Son is a very beautiful poem. By his words, he seems to be guiding his
son through life. We get little to no information about the son in this poem. However, based on
Meinke s word usage, I would have to say this poem was written in a critical time in his son s life. A
time when a poem like this wold have had a large impact. Meinke seems to be using everything he s
learned in his life to better his son through this poem. My favorite lines of this poem comes from the
very beginning. The trick is, to live your days as if each one may be your last. This should resonate
deeply in anyone who reads this. Life truly is short and through these lines, I believe Meinke is telling
his son to do what makes him happy. Live life to the fullest is what he is saying. Then later on he slips
some irony in by saying that life also goes slow. Life goes fast for the young man, but slow for the old.
So Meinke tells his son to plan ahead for old age. All in

Troxel Vs. Granville is the case at hand, concerning the lives of two grandchildren who are not
allowed to see their paternal grandparents. Visitation rights is what the grandparents are seeking to
attain. Gary and Jennifer Troxel are both physically and mentally capable of being with their two
grandchildren, but instead have been forbidden by their daughter in law. Brad Troxel, the father of
these two children committed suicide six years ago. The mother forbids visitation rights at all. To
uphold the necessity of compromise, visitation rights must be granted to these loving, caring, and able
grandparents. These children will lose out on a colossal amount of family history and values unless the
Supreme Court rules in favor of the grandparents. Grandparents may not be a part of the nuclear
family (father, mother, and children). However with the absence of the father they already lack a
nuclear family to learn from. A compromise must be made to save these children and their
grandparents from all the grief that is being caused by the children s mother. This is the only way to
uphold this basic foundation. Any person who sees these examples might worry that the United States
of America has simply failed to structure a sound foundation of democracy for itself. Horrifying as it

The Importance Of Uniforms In Schools
The first reason all public schools should have uniforms is because it helps reduce bullying. There are
many types of bullying such as verbal, social, and physical bullying. It can occur anywhere, but most
of the time, it happens in schools. This often leads to serious problems for those who are being bullied.
According to princetonsummerjournal.com, Students wearing popular trends or expensive brands tend
to pick on students who are not keeping up with these trends. For instance, the case of Jasmine
McClain a ten year old, who was bullied because of her clothes and shoes. This bullying lead her to
commit suicide. There have also been surveys that have shown that thirty nine percent of the students
who are being bullied is because of the clothes they are wearing (princetonsummerjournal.com). The
student s clothing usually mirrors their economic background, and it shows that they can t keep up
with the trend or buy those expensive, trendy clothes since their parents can t afford it. If public
schools were to establish uniforms for every student, then they would be able to fit in because nobody
would be considered different. Then students would get along and just put their social class aside.
Based on what one has read uniforms wouldn t just reduce the number of students getting bullied, but
it would be saving a life too.
The second reason all public schools should have uniforms is because it saves time. According to
procon.org, ...90% of US school leaders believe school uniform or formal dress code policies
eliminate wardrobe battles with kids, make it easier to get kids ready... It s important for students to
focus on other things and have time for them instead of worrying about the clothes they will be
wearing to school. Some students in the mornings carefully pick out their outfits, looking for
something nice to wear. They are wasting a lot of their time when they could ve slept in a couple more
minutes or eaten breakfast which, according to sfgate.com, is an important meal of the day because it
can improve one s grades, concentration, and just overall the student s school performance. Uniforms
would be taking away all the trouble of having to choose a certain kind of clothing for school every

Society In Plato s Five Cyclic Stages Of Government
Everything can be defined by placement in a category. In his Republic, Plato defines the changes that
a society undergoes by categorizing the changes into five cyclic stages of government. The first stage
of government, aristocracy, has the aristocrat do their art for the sake of their art. The second stage is
timocracy, wherein the timocrat works for the sake of honor. In the third stage, oligarchy, the oligarch
works under the sway of greed. Democracy, is the fourth stage, where the democrat is slave to the
destructive thirst for freedom. The final, and according to Plato, the worst stage, is tyranny, wherein
the tyrant strives for power. Within the public school system, the lives of high school students mirror
the lives of people within a functioning society. In Hercules High School, the students lives, and
therefore, their classes are also defined by the different governments. These classes include the
aristocratic Medical Careers, the timocratic AP US History, and the tyrannical Dance Production. The
aristocratic Medical Careers, taught by Mr. Crosby, is a class full of students aspiring to be in the
medical field. Plato defines aristocracy as the government of the best, where the several classes [of
people] will receive the proportion of happiness which nature assigns to them. In an aristocracy, the
different social classes are proficient in their own special art, and continually strive to better their art.
Just as each social class receives this proportion

How Music Has Influenced Our Lives Essay
Mid Term Essay Sometimes in life people grieve. People feel all kinds of emotions. Music is almost
an emotion itself. In my perspective music can be an escape, for however long you desire. Music has
been call a way of life for many human beings. Somehow, it has made a large influence on the world. I
can think of many instances where music has influenced my life. Music effects our everyday lives and
can almost be an incomprehensive predicament. Music today is powerful and has a lot more meaning
than just sounds and words. Music is so powerful that it has the power to manipulate and influence
individuals in a positive or negative way. There is so much meaning behind music the lyrics
nowadays. Music can tell an artist life story, things they have been through, and even their opinion on
certain views. The most powerful function of music, however, is its ability to express our emotions,
thoughts, and feelings. Music has been so important to me, I would venture to say that without it, I
would not be alive. As someone diagnosed with bi polar disorder, or more commonly known as manic
depression, I have been prone to very wide and potentially dangerous mood swings. These moods and
the emotions associated with them, although often times irrational, were nonetheless extremely
powerful. Emotions that powerful had to be released and expressed to the outside world. I like many
teenagers, found that to express myself with words was far too difficult and frustrating. I found a way

Deaf Culture And Bilingual Signs
I have a friend by the name of Karen that while living in the United States lives in a completely
different culture than us. Karen is deaf. When we first met we mainly communicated by text or the
online community that brought us together. While I knew a little sign language it was not enough to
keep a steady conversation. Karen helped me learn some signs, I took classes to teach me more about
deaf culture and conversational signs. I went from being able to carry on a conversation with my voice
and ears to having to learn to watch someone s hands and be behind in translating in my head what
they were trying to say. At first I thought that this would be my greatest challenge in learning to
communicate well with deaf people, but then I found out that they also use a lot of facial expressions,
different sentence structure, and even almost set up a scene when telling a story with the location of
their hands and only really tell you who they are speaking about once before placing them in the
scene.

My Internship With Battle Born Progress
Administrative Intern: My Internship with Battle Born Progress
As an administrative intern for Battle Born Progress, I ve developed a plethora of professional skills
that have facilitated my understanding on how the political process works, particularly with
campaigns. In the early part of my internship, I was learning the organizational structure of Battle
Born Progress as a public relations firm. As a non profit organization, Battle Born Progress seeks to
strengthen the progressive community of Nevada through strategic communications and mobilization
techniques in order to provide a fair opportunity for everyone to succeed. Since other organizations
recognize the public relations value of Battle Born Progress, they will often times compensate Battle
Born Progress in exchange for running their social media accounts. As an administrative intern, I was
primary in charge of running social media for Battle Born Progress and its partners. Although the first
couple of weeks were challenging, I became confident in my ability to effectively communicate the
appropriate message to each of our partner s social media accounts. Furthermore, since this was an
election year, I was taught a combination of administrative and campaign skills. This paper will be
examining the chronological order of my internship at Battle Born Progress from August of 2016 to
December of 2016.
In the first couple days of my internship, I was learning how to properly use social media using

Stereotyping And Prejudice Of Blacks Essay
Over the past few centuries, Blacks have been portrayed as a violent underclass (Hurwitz Peffley,
1997, p. 380). Scholars have reviewed the racial threat theory to illustrate and understand this
phenomenon. It has been argued that Whites are more supportive of punitive sanctions because they
perceive an increasing threat to their economic, political, and social hegemony in the presence... of
large numbers of minorities (Blalock, 1967; Mancini, Mears, Stewart, Beaver, and Pickett, 2015). The
impact of stereotyping and prejudice of Blacks being perceived as threat has caused many Whites to
acquire defensive and demining reactions towards Blacks. The media and society has a tendency to
shy away from or almost ignore the crime of Whites and instead shift to highlight the crime of Blacks
and minorities. Entman (1992) discovered during a six month period in Chicago, news reports about
Black perpetrators in violent offenses, like homicide, occurred 84% of the time while 71% of White
reported crimes were violent. Another study of a local news media reporting crime found not only that
African Americans were twice as likely as Whites to be depicted as perpetrators, 6 times more likely
to be portrayed as perpetrators than as law enforcement officers, and overrepresented as criminals, but
that they also represent close to 37% of the perpetrators depicted while only totaling one fifth of all
arrestees. (T.L. Dixon Linz, 2000; Mancini, Mears, Stewart, Beaver, and

New in the Forex Market
New in the Forex market? This market may sound really complicated and scary to tackle but it s not.
Just like in any kinds of trade, you make money when you buy low and sell high. Forex trading is
simply trading currencies in the Forex market. Forex is the largest financial market in the world. It
generates trillions of dollars of currency exchanges everyday and it operates 24 hours a day and seven
days a week therefore, also making it the most liquid market in the world. In the world of Forex,
trading in this very liquid market is very unique compared to other financial market like stocks. Since
the Forex market operates 24 hours a day worldwide, which starts at Sydney and ends in New York,
trading is not centralized in one location. You can trade in Forex whenever you want regardless of the
local time. In the past, Forex trading was only offered to large financial institutions, like banks. And, it
was also only offered to large companies, multi national corporations and large currency dealers. This
is because of the large and extremely strict financial requirements the Forex market imposed. This
means that individual traders and small businesses are not able to participate in this liquid market.
However, in the late 90s, Forex was made available to individual traders and small businesses. This is
due to the advances in the communications technology. High speed internet made it possible for
people to enter the Forex market and have become one of the best make money at

Theme of Guilt in Hamlet Fifth Business Essay example
There is one human emotion that can paralyse us, lead us to lie both to ourselves and others, to
commit actions that we don t endure, and to cripple any rational thought processes. It is self
perpetuating if allowed to get out of control. Its side effects are anger, aggressiveness, fear or
reclusiveness. Its symptoms are irrational behaviour, lying, anguish, and lack of self esteem. It is the
strong emotion that can affect our conscience, like an acid drop it corrodes the soul within and in
extreme conditions it demolishes one s life, it is better known as guilt. Guilt is a reoccurring theme in

Equivalently in the play Hamlet, the theme of guilt was developed through Hamlet and his most
hateful enemy, King Claudius. Hamlet experiences guilt when he recognizes that he has not yet
avenged his father s death and in Act I Scene ii Hamlet reveals that he is upset and disappointed with
himself, as he has not taken any actions to attain revenge from Claudius, the murderer of his father.
Hamlet then calls himself, a peasant slave and questions, What s Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba, That
he should weep for her? What would he do, Had he motive and cue for passion That I have?
(Shakespeare, II, ii, 529. 538 541). Furthermore, Hamlet later decides to relief his overwhelming guilt
by commanding the actors to re enact his father s death through The Murder of Gonzago,

Absolute Power The right to privacy means controlling your own personal information and the ability

The USA PATRIOT Act has similarities to the McCarthy Red Scare era and J. Edgar Hoover s reign as
FBI director. After September 11th, the United States was still in shock over the terrorist attacks. It s
completely understandable that Congress wanted to pass a bill to protect the welfare of the country;
but how the bill was passed with very little congressional debate shows the lack of judgment used to
realize the ramifications the act may cause in the future. The USA PATRIOT Act infringes on every
Americans fundamental right to privacy. The Bush Administration submitted lawmaking proposals

changes were made Congress would be blamed for future terrorist attacks. The bill passed without
major changes or debate. The Act was signed into law on October 26, 2001. However, the proposal

Comparing Democracy Gaps And Participation
The actual aim of this study is regarding comparing democracy gaps and participation between Arab
Muslim countries and non Arab Muslim countries. The authors explain that the sixteen Arab countries
in the world are not democratic and have the lowest rates of Gross
Domestic Product per capita (GDPpc) concerning competitive elections. The authors continue in their
arguments and study stating that thirty one countries which are Muslim, but non Arab in contrast have
much higher rates of GDPpc in competitive elections.
The authors are trying to examine what makes such differences in these two different categories of
countries. The authors begin their thorough examination studying from the years from 1972 to
2000. The authors start contrasting countries that are Arab Muslim and non Arab Muslim, and the
authors study regarding electoral competitiveness found that religions other than Islam dominate. The
second stage is by qualitative, which is measuring more by quality than by quantity, it concentrated
more on evaluating all the forty seven Muslim dominant states and seeing which met the standard to
be labeled as an electoral competitive state. The authors then move to the third and last stage of their
examination, which they emphasize on the five main theoretical and political suggestions that the prior
two stages declare.
The authors studies are not based on legitimate democratic countries, but on two standards, first, the
countries that had reasonable fair

Analysis Of Thee I Sing
Of Thee I Sing Analysis As actors, we are forced to absorb everything around us and express our
views on the world. Of Thee I Sing succeeds as a play that reflects the world around them while
poking fun at it. The play itself was fun, colorful, and interesting. From its high energized actors to its
well choreographed dancing and singing. Of Thee I Sing is a musical that is full of terrific acting,
dancing, staging, and stage directing. Anyone who did not see this production made a mistake not to
see it.
Of Thee I Sing is about John P. Wintergreen, who runs for President of the United States on the love
platform. When he falls in love with the sensible Mary Turner instead of Diana Devereaux, the
beautiful pageant winner selected for him, he gets into political hot water. The main characters of the
play are John P. Wintergreen ( Joseph Edward Herr) a presidential candidate who, is running his
campaign on love. Mary Turner ( Jennifer Totcky) Wintergreens love interest later wife. Diana
Devereaux (Katie Whittermore) contest winner Wintergreens administration chose to be his wife
before he fell in love with Turner. The play ends with the servants wheeling a large bed into the room,
where Mary sits with the babies. Wintergreen leads everyone in proclaiming, Of Thee I Sing. The
acting in Of Thee I Sing was nothing but spectacular. The acting from all of the actors was believable.
The way how they projected their voices was well done and the how they delivered their lines was
well executed. An actor who did these and more was Kyle Laing and Lexi Nieto. Kyle practically stole
every scene he was in. He fully embodied his character. From his fast dialogue to his witty dialect. His
pacing was great, he did not rush through his lines nor did he slow down. It was well paced. My
favorite part of his performance were his facial expressions, he was very charismatic with the time he
had on stage to express himself. Lexi Nieto s performance was nothing spectacular. Despite being a
member of the ensemble, Nieto captivated my attention every time she was on stage. She made bold
acting choices through her hilarious facial expressions, but still managed to not distract from the story.

Review Of David M. Greenberg Et Al Divided People And...
Your Choice of Music Can Reveal Your Personality One s taste in music is at the top of the list when it
comes to topics that can cause a heater argument. Musical preferences are sacred to most people and
we tend to divide into small tribes over music, considering the other tribes as less sophisticated.
Interestingly, your music choices are not a random grouping your tribe isn t determined by where your
friends go. Instead, your personality and the music you like are interlinked, both influencing each
other. Three thinking groups and their musical choices A 2015 study by David M. Greenberg et al
divided people s thinking into three separate thinking styles: the empathizers, the systemizers and the
balanced. Each thinking style tended to favor different type of music, allowing the researchers to
predict what music the person likes simply by understanding their thinking style. Empathizers feel
connected to others, they have strong emotions and they base their decision making often on
emotional values. On the other hand, systemizers think more rationally. They are calm and composed
in their decision making. As you might suspect, the balanced thinkers are a mixture of both these
styles. First, the empathizers were shown to prefer mellow music low energy, sad emotions and
emotional depth. The people in this group were therefore associating with genres such as soft rock,
indie music and R B. For the systemizers, this type of music wasn t appealing. They were looking for

How Is The Monkey s Pow Similar
Stories share both similarities and of course differences . In the story, The Monkey s Paw by W.W.
Jacobs, the character Mr. White ends up wasting the three wishes he got by changing things back to
the way things already were after his first wish. In the story, The Third Wish by Joan Aiken, the main
character, Mr. Peters, wishes for a wife and it comes true, but he wishes her back to a swan, which is
what she was before. These stories share both similarities and differences between the motifs of the
story and the resolutions of the story. The motif of each story, the use of magic, is used similarly and
used differently as well. The first example of similarities, is that both stories used wishes coming true
in coincidental way as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
White s first wish was for two hundred pounds. In The Third Wish Mr. Peters wishes for a gorgeous
wife and got what he wanted when he meets her the very next day but, Mr. Peters then figures out that
it was a swan he changed. A similarity can be seen because they both had their magic happen in
awkward ways that were very unexpected. The second example is both stories had some sort of good
luck piece that activated the magic. Like in The Monkey s Paw the talisman for activating the wishes
was of course the Monkey s Paw. The talisman that represented each wish in The Third Wish was
three leaves. The only way in the two stories to get the magic was to have some sort of talisman to
trigger the magic which is a similarity. There is also differences of how the magic is involved in each
story. In The Monkey s Paw the magical thing that had to happen to save Mr. and Mrs. White was to
wish for there son to be dead again after they wished him alive. W.W Jacobs writes He heard the
creaking of the bolt as it came slowly back, and at the same moment he found the monkey s paw, and
frantically breathed his third and last wish (online). This shows that his last wish was for

Morte D Arthur Research Paper
Morte d Arthur, published in 1485, is a story written by Sir Thomas Mallory. In essence, Morte d
Arthur is tells the story of King Arthur and his Knights at the Round Table. Arthur, who is son of King
Uther Pendragon but was raised by another family, takes his rightful place as king when, as a boy, he
is able to pull the sword called Excalibur from the stone. In order to relate this story to todays time,
Arthur s childhood is the center of attention. After Arthur was born, he was given away to other people
to be raised, not by his biological parents. Arthur s being raised by different his non biological parents
is similar to adoption in real life, and how it affected him and how it effects children in real life, will
be the main focus. Another connection between the story and real life is that the general community

The Importance Of Fair Trade Merchandise At Hebden Bridge...

Firstly, I am going to discuss moral utilization; Ethical consumerism is purchasing things that are
made ethically. For the most part, this implies without mischief to or misuse of people, creatures or the
indigenous habitat, or the exploitation of human (sweatshops) in Ledc countries, it additionally
implies to Positive purchasing and supporting moral items, and organizations that work on standards
and construct to basically bring in light of Benefit for the growth of the world as opposed to self
interest, allowing business self interest only for the continuation of doing general good for the
environment and the primary input workers. It s essential that we start consuming ethical products as
there are more positive benefit socially, environmentally and economically for instance, if we start
consuming ethical stuff we will be decreasing carbon dioxide that is let in the atmosphere
automatically reducing global warming and also stop the use of fossil fuel transportation to send goods

  • 2. The Wolf In Quentin Tarantino s Pulp Fiction Just because you are a character doesn t mean that you have character. This was said by The Wolf in Quentin Tarantino s movie Pulp Fiction. Tarantino opens our minds to a word with no ordinary days and especially no ordinary people. And that s just what this movie isn t, ordinary. There are so many twist and turns, with storylines out of order and violence mixed in with everyday conversations. It s a movie that can get you confused and grossed out but also excited and thrilled. It s so casually not casual and as a viewer I have such mixed feelings on it. Pulp Fiction tells you not only one story but multiple on life through the eyes of mobsters and criminals. I stand by its slot on AFI s top 100 list due to its attention grabbing characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tarantino develops an array of crooks and gangsters who work in a business of money and drugs. He makes them indulge in little conversations to express their perspectives on life and what exactly goes through the minds of these so called ¨bad¨ men. Hitmen Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega (played by Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta) do some pretty terrible things but still manage to have conversations that normal people have on a daily basis. For example they were driving to kill a bunch of boys for screwing over their boss and on the way there all the talked about was what European countries call their hamburgers at McDonalds. I found this very comical because they are literally driving to an apartment to hunt down these men and that is what is on there mind. Even right before they walk in they talk about the deeper meaning behind giving a foot massage. They are so nonchalant about everything they do and I almost admire that. Of course what they are doing is wrong but the way they make light of the situation infers the fact of their perspective on life. People don t need to be serious and stern all the time and Vincent and Jules prove that. That s how the movie kept me entertained because I could relate to the characters. There weren t just hit men with no interior but men who could be normal. I also really enjoyed the character Mia Wallace (played by Uma Thurman). Although she was addicted to drugs she gave the audience an inside to her mind and what she thought of. Like in the movie she talked about how if two people were so comfortable with one another then they can sit in silence and it wouldn t be weird. She quotes ¨That s when you know you ve found somebody really special, when you can just shut the f*** up for a minute and comfortably share a silence.¨ I find that to be very true. If you truly are comfortable then not talking should just be normal. Pulp Fiction does a great job composing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It shall introduce the scope of the dissertation by discussing the problem, the background of the problem, the purpose of the proposal, the scope of the proposal and the general organization of the proposal. The thesis of the dissertation is wait times at clinics and how that time can be reduced to obtain efficiency at clinics. Problem Statement The subject of this paper is waiting times at clinics and how that time can be minimized. What is wait time at clinics? Wait times at clinics can be described as the amount of time a patient takes to be attended to when they visit a hospital. This has led patients who can afford to prefer private clinics where they are seen on an appointment basis. The wait times at private clinics is considered shorter though not the best at all times, than that in public clinics. Patients who may not afford visiting private clinics are left with no choice but to attend public hospitals. Background of the Problem One of the indicators of quality service and efficient service delivery is patient wait times. Patient wait times at clinics are a policy issue that needs to be addressed if hospitals foresee a change in its operations and operational costs. Wait times can be attributed to poor planning and coordination in hospitals. Wait times are experienced before consultation, during consultation and after consultation. Health care centers typically have different people who provide different services all in the treatment process. For an ordinary routine visit, there are professionals stationed at the reception to receive clients and client information mostly regarding mode of payment. There are the nurses who are stationed at the triage to measure the patients vitals. In between that and consultation, there are people who oversee that transition, mostly nurses. The coordination of these activities carried out by different persons is what results in extended ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Main Roles Of Housekeeping THE ROLE THAT HOUSEKEEPING PLAYS IN THE OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT OF HOTELS. If we need to review the role that housekeeping plays in the operations and management of hotel. Firstly we have to define what is it Housekeeping in general. House Keeping is a heart of the hotel management industry. Hotels, motels, and inns around the world can succeed without ballrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pools, or even restaurants. But the one thing every successful lodging establishment must have, regardless of it s size, location, or industry segment, is clean rooms. Room sales generally drive 70 percent or more of the revenues generated by lodging establishments. Without a well managed housekeeping department, there would be no rooms to sell (Martin R. Guestrooms in lodging properties are sold by the front office. The front office desk must know at every given moment what rooms have been cleaned and are available for the guests. In the communication between two departments is poor or breaks down, delays in guest check in will occur , or people will be checked into rooms that are thought to be ready but that in fact are occupied or not ready. • 6. Persuasive Essay On Deforestation Deforestation Every day we use paper, and every day we sit on or use furniture that is made of wood. Look around you, how many things are not made out of wood? Deforestation is the destruction or removal of forests. In fact, 50,000 trees are being cut down every minute. The issue deforestation links directly with the issues of air pollution, loss of animal habitats and climate change as well as several health problems. Deforestation can be solved if everyone helped, but not everyone has the same perspective. For example, some world leaders like Donald Trump do not believe that climate change is an issue, and a lot of people do not care about deforestation because they are unaware or because they do not care about anything beside themselves. I became interested in this topic after knowing that in countries where deforestation is a bigger issue, people are less healthy. Although Canada does not struggle with deforestation as much compared to China and the US, I do not want the same to happen. One issue that deforestation causes is extinction the permanent loss of species. Each species is unique and different but most share the same home: the forest. While others say that logging creates jobs and lowers the risk of uncontrollable wildfires, what about all the animals? Where will they go when they no longer have a home? According to experts, 99% of all existing species that have ever existed are now gone. The loss of species may result in environmental repercussion. All living things are connected, if the connection is broken, nature would no longer be balanced. The government need to raise awareness of citizens, a possible solution to this would be hempcrete. Hemprete is a material made of weed, lime and water that can be used as a substitute for wood in houses. This method can save a lot of trees, since 44% of wood goes to construction. Second of all, deforestation has many unexpected effects to the environment and may result in negative consequences such as climate change. Tree protect the soil from erosion, they produce oxygen and store carbon dioxide along with purifying the air and controlling the climate. When forests are cut down, the carbon stored in the trees will be released back into the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Lu Xun s Medicine, The Authorities Within The Chinese... In Lu Xun s Medicine , the authorities within the Chinese government executed a young revolutionist, Yu Hsia (Xia), for his nonconforming political ideals compared to China s political ideals at the early twentieth century. After his execution, Old Chuan brought a roll of steamed bread to soak in Xia s blood since he and his wife believed blood would cure their fatally ill son, Little Chuan (Hua). At the last part of this non chronological short story, the reader discovered that Hua recently passed away, and buried directly opposite from Xia s grave, separated only by the path. In particular, during Xia s superstitious mother visit to Xia s grave, she not only grieved over his death, but observed a crow on a leafless bough. Seeking for hope, she wanted the crow to fly on to his grave as a sign of her son s presence. The crow initially showed no sign of movement, which made her raise the question: What does it mean? Then, the crow stretch[ed] its wings, brace[d] itself to take off, then [flew] like an arrow towards the far horizon. Although the crow did not fly on to Xia s grave, the crow still represented Xia s presence, or even Xia himself. The crow s action was symbolic of what Xia would have done if he were still alive. It was clear that Xia s mother had superstitious beliefs when she waited for the crow to fly on to Xia s grave as a sign of his presence. • 10. Describe The Main Hypothesis Tested In The Study 1. Describe the main hypothesis tested in the study. The main hypothesis being tested within the study was whether or not the fusiform gyrus was a Region of Interest (ROI) that specialised in the perception of the human face. This main hypothesis was confirmed in Part 1 of testing and was thus expanded in Part II and III, in which they eliminated alternative hypothesis. 2. Explain why this new ROI technique is important for fMRI research. The Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a functional neuroimaging procedure that used MRI technology to measure our brains activity through blood flow changes and our voxels. In past experiments the researcher would have been required to scan images of the entire brain for each comparison, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Explain one of the alternative accounts of the function of the FFA and how the current study is able to refute (prove wrong) this account. Imaging studies in the past have reported that the region of the fusiform gyrus is more active during face recognition than object viewing, during face matching than location matching and during viewing normal faces other than scrambled faces or textures. This research was a great beginning, but it does not establish that this FFA is specifically involved in face recognition, as there is a range of alternative interpretations of what can activate our brains. These alternative interpretations include low level feature extraction, visual attention that is greater in faces and recognition of basic items and recognition of human objects. To test the first hypothesis the researcher ran an initial test to determine that the Region of Interest was the fusiform gyrus. Following this he then measured the activity in this specific region to subjects using four comparison tasks. Each of these tasks tested the alternative accounts that were previously listed. Part III tested one of these alternative accounts for faces compared with another human object e.g hands. In these tests the data that was collected displayed higher intensity reactions in the ROI when parts of the face were compared to viewing human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Nicholas Brothers Research Paper The 20th century saw a shift in dance as new forms were created and artists began entertaining audiences in new ways. The rise of Jazz music and the swing era allowed a couple of tap dancers, commonly known as the Nicholas Brothers, to gain fame. The Nicholas Brothers questioned what dance could be by pushing the human body to the limits the likes of which had not been seen before. Other innovations in their dance such as their vernacular style, informal training, and unique musicality directly opposed many of the virtues of classical ballet. Through my own interpretations of their work as well as through the use of primary and secondary sources it is clear to see that the Nicholas Brothers opposed classical ballet through their style, musicality, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the primary ways in which Tap, swing and jazz dance deviate completely from ballet are how the styles organically developed into social dances. Ballet started as a social court dance however at it s inception was segregated from it s roots as something purely performative. Jazz dance forms on the other hand such as tap dance kept many of the swing vernaculars which created them in their performance. That is to say that when watching a tap dancer perform on stage (with a traditional deportment) and then watching a swing dancer in a dance hall, one can see the similarities in movement qualities and even certain steps (such as the shim sham or Attack Annies ). From this it can be argued that Tap dancers (as well as all vernacular jazz dancers of the day) question what dance is by keeping its social roots alive even after it had transitioned onto the stage. The fact that tap dance was a part of the vernacular dance of the day (and still had a casual culture about it) allowed that the Nicholas Brothers to learn to dance without ever taking a class (Frank 67). Peter Meinke and Daddy by Sylvia Plath are the closest to polar opposites in regards to father figures. The father in Advice to My Son seems to be very loving and concerned about his sons future, while the father in Daddy is quite the opposite. Sylvia Plath paints her father in a very evil, overbearing light. Her words ooze with disdain and hate for her father. The juxtaposition of these two poems shine light on the authors personal relationship with their fathers. J. Peter Meinke s Advice to my Son is a very beautiful poem. By his words, he seems to be guiding his son through life. We get little to no information about the son in this poem. However, based on Meinke s word usage, I would have to say this poem was written in a critical time in his son s life. A time when a poem like this wold have had a large impact. Meinke seems to be using everything he s learned in his life to better his son through this poem. My favorite lines of this poem comes from the very beginning. The trick is, to live your days as if each one may be your last. This should resonate deeply in anyone who reads this. Life truly is short and through these lines, I believe Meinke is telling his son to do what makes him happy. Live life to the fullest is what he is saying. Then later on he slips some irony in by saying that life also goes slow. Life goes fast for the young man, but slow for the old. So Meinke tells his son to plan ahead for old age. All in ... There are many types of bullying such as verbal, social, and physical bullying. It can occur anywhere, but most of the time, it happens in schools. This often leads to serious problems for those who are being bullied. According to princetonsummerjournal.com, Students wearing popular trends or expensive brands tend to pick on students who are not keeping up with these trends. For instance, the case of Jasmine McClain a ten year old, who was bullied because of her clothes and shoes. This bullying lead her to commit suicide. There have also been surveys that have shown that thirty nine percent of the students who are being bullied is because of the clothes they are wearing (princetonsummerjournal.com). The student s clothing usually mirrors their economic background, and it shows that they can t keep up with the trend or buy those expensive, trendy clothes since their parents can t afford it. If public schools were to establish uniforms for every student, then they would be able to fit in because nobody would be considered different. Then students would get along and just put their social class aside. Based on what one has read uniforms wouldn t just reduce the number of students getting bullied, but it would be saving a life too. The second reason all public schools should have uniforms is because it saves time. • 20. Society In Plato s Five Cyclic Stages Of Government Everything can be defined by placement in a category. In his Republic, Plato defines the changes that a society undergoes by categorizing the changes into five cyclic stages of government. The first stage of government, aristocracy, has the aristocrat do their art for the sake of their art. The second stage is timocracy, wherein the timocrat works for the sake of honor. In the third stage, oligarchy, the oligarch works under the sway of greed. Democracy, is the fourth stage, where the democrat is slave to the destructive thirst for freedom. The final, and according to Plato, the worst stage, is tyranny, wherein the tyrant strives for power. Within the public school system, the lives of high school students mirror the lives of people within a functioning society. In Hercules High School, the students lives, and therefore, their classes are also defined by the different governments. These classes include the aristocratic Medical Careers, the timocratic AP US History, and the tyrannical Dance Production. The aristocratic Medical Careers, taught by Mr. Crosby, is a class full of students aspiring to be in the medical field. Plato defines aristocracy as the government of the best, where the several classes [of people] will receive the proportion of happiness which nature assigns to them. In an aristocracy, the different social classes are proficient in their own special art, and continually strive to better their art. Just as each social class receives this proportion ... Scholars have reviewed the racial threat theory to illustrate and understand this phenomenon. The impact of stereotyping and prejudice of Blacks being perceived as threat has caused many Whites to acquire defensive and demining reactions towards Blacks. The media and society has a tendency to shy away from or almost ignore the crime of Whites and instead shift to highlight the crime of Blacks and minorities. • 32. Analysis Of Thee I Sing Of Thee I Sing Analysis As actors, we are forced to absorb everything around us and express our views on the world. Of Thee I Sing succeeds as a play that reflects the world around them while poking fun at it. The play itself was fun, colorful, and interesting. From its high energized actors to its well choreographed dancing and singing. Of Thee I Sing is a musical that is full of terrific acting, dancing, staging, and stage directing. Anyone who did not see this production made a mistake not to see it. Of Thee I Sing is about John P. Wintergreen, who runs for President of the United States on the love platform. When he falls in love with the sensible Mary Turner instead of Diana Devereaux, the beautiful pageant winner selected for him, he gets into political hot water. The main characters of the play are John P. Wintergreen ( Joseph Edward Herr) a presidential candidate who, is running his campaign on love. Mary Turner ( Jennifer Totcky) Wintergreens love interest later wife. Diana Devereaux (Katie Whittermore) contest winner Wintergreens administration chose to be his wife before he fell in love with Turner. The play ends with the servants wheeling a large bed into the room, where Mary sits with the babies. Wintergreen leads everyone in proclaiming, Of Thee I Sing. The acting in Of Thee I Sing was nothing but spectacular. The acting from all of the actors was believable. The way how they projected their voices was well done and the how they delivered their lines was well executed. An actor who did these and more was Kyle Laing and Lexi Nieto. Kyle practically stole every scene he was in. He fully embodied his character. From his fast dialogue to his witty dialect. His pacing was great, he did not rush through his lines nor did he slow down. It was well paced. My favorite part of his performance were his facial expressions, he was very charismatic with the time he had on stage to express himself. Lexi Nieto s performance was nothing spectacular. Despite being a member of the ensemble, Nieto captivated my attention every time she was on stage. She made bold acting choices through her hilarious facial expressions, but still managed to not distract from the story. There was clarity for all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Review Of David M. Greenberg Et Al Divided People And... Your Choice of Music Can Reveal Your Personality One s taste in music is at the top of the list when it comes to topics that can cause a heater argument. Musical preferences are sacred to most people and we tend to divide into small tribes over music, considering the other tribes as less sophisticated. Interestingly, your music choices are not a random grouping your tribe isn t determined by where your friends go. Instead, your personality and the music you like are interlinked, both influencing each other. Three thinking groups and their musical choices A 2015 study by David M. Greenberg et al divided people s thinking into three separate thinking styles: the empathizers, the systemizers and the balanced. Each thinking style tended to favor different type of music, allowing the researchers to predict what music the person likes simply by understanding their thinking style. Empathizers feel connected to others, they have strong emotions and they base their decision making often on emotional values. On the other hand, systemizers think more rationally. They are calm and composed in their decision making. As you might suspect, the balanced thinkers are a mixture of both these styles. First, the empathizers were shown to prefer mellow music low energy, sad emotions and emotional depth. The people in this group were therefore associating with genres such as soft rock, indie music and R B. For the systemizers, this type of music wasn t appealing. They were looking for a ... Jacobs, the character Mr. White ends up wasting the three wishes he got by changing things back to the way things already were after his first wish. In the story, The Third Wish by Joan Aiken, the main character, Mr. Peters, wishes for a wife and it comes true, but he wishes her back to a swan, which is what she was before. These stories share both similarities and differences between the motifs of the story and the resolutions of the story. The motif of each story, the use of magic, is used similarly and used differently as well. The first example of similarities, is that both stories used wishes coming true in coincidental way as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... White s first wish was for two hundred pounds. In The Third Wish Mr. Peters wishes for a gorgeous wife and got what he wanted when he meets her the very next day but, Mr. Peters then figures out that it was a swan he changed. A similarity can be seen because they both had their magic happen in awkward ways that were very unexpected. The second example is both stories had some sort of good luck piece that activated the magic. Like in The Monkey s Paw the talisman for activating the wishes was of course the Monkey s Paw. The talisman that represented each wish in The Third Wish was three leaves. The only way in the two stories to get the magic was to have some sort of talisman to trigger the magic which is a similarity. There is also differences of how the magic is involved in each story. In The Monkey s Paw the magical thing that had to happen to save Mr. and Mrs. White was to wish for there son to be dead again after they wished him alive. W.W Jacobs writes He heard the creaking of the bolt as it came slowly back, and at the same moment he found the monkey s paw, and frantically breathed his third and last wish (online). • 35. Morte D Arthur Research Paper Morte d Arthur, published in 1485, is a story written by Sir Thomas Mallory. In essence, Morte d Arthur is tells the story of King Arthur and his Knights at the Round Table. Arthur, who is son of King Uther Pendragon but was raised by another family, takes his rightful place as king when, as a boy, he is able to pull the sword called Excalibur from the stone. In order to relate this story to todays time, Arthur s childhood is the center of attention. After Arthur was born, he was given away to other people to be raised, not by his biological parents. Arthur s being raised by different his non biological parents is similar to adoption in real life, and how it affected him and how it effects children in real life, will be the main focus.
