Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The movie, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, is a historical fiction. It occurs some time in China
under a dynasty. Some of the events that happened in this movie relate to some of the material that we
covered in class. One event that happened was when Jen and her family travels through the desert and
were attacked by Lo and his Dark Cloud on horses. In my interpretation, I believe that Lo and his gang
of bandits, displayed some similarities to The Mongols. As seen in the movie, they rode and fought on
horses, were nomadic, and lived by raidings, which are things that Mongols are known for. They use
horses for mobility and height against their enemies. When Lo and Jen are in Lo s cave, he assumes
that she is part of a Han dynasty, but she corrects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Earlier in the movie, porcelain and silk were displayed.
Normally in East Asia, silk and porcelain were apart of the Chinese trading goods to parts of Europe,
which we discussed in class. It s a historical fiction because, let s be real, there weren t any flying
Chinese people sword fighting in a bamboo forest nor on rooftops. Maybe some of the events were
inaccurate because the director, Ang Lee, was Taiwanese or wasn t so sure about the concept, so
instead of hitting it straight on the nail, he decided to put some inaccuracy into the film. Also, I am not
so sure if they did tea ceremonies in China like they did in Japan, but in one scene in the movie, you
can see that Shu Lien purposely drops her tea while Jen catches it before it completely falls to the
floor. Shu Lien then figures that Jen is the one who stole the Green Destiny. As mentioned in a lecture,
we talked about Yin and Yang. I think that there could be some depictions of yin and yang inside the
movie. Since the movie is mainly female based, you could possibly see where I am coming from. Yin
and Yang, which stands for good and bad or negative and

partner to New Zealand in the world. EU has sufficient natural resource and has created a big number
of agribusiness employments. Also, EU has compared better agriculture supply chain which providing
verity agribusiness production to domestic and international markets. In addition, it is necessary to
notice there is a huge market which could be an opportunity to export. As a unit, EU successfully
supports their local farmers and development of agriculture. However, it still gets some issues which
challenge their agriculture in future.

Spell Of Money
Breaking the Spell of Money The natural systems like forests, wetlands, lakes, oceans, grasslands,
rivers and the like; that we all depend on for sustainability are deteriorating majorly because of the
actions of humans. This diminishes the quality of our existence and it can be said to have been caused
by being selfish and shortsighted, consumerism to global corporates among others. Sanders however
proposes a different theory: confusion of financial wealth with real wealth. He explains how economy
treats the natural world through an analogy using humans. A human being a commodity, if one hand is
cut and sold, can we say that since the other one is there and the legs and other parts too and they seem
to be okay all is well; why then do we treat

Force Awakens Vs Rogue One Analysis
#1 Draft Pick: Force Awakens Over Rogue One When you think of the number one draft pick, the
majority of the time football comes to mind. Well, this is not in this case. The number one draft is the
Star Wars movie which is the seventh movie in the series. That one fairs far better than the antithetical
film Rogue One. The Force Awakens occurs thirty years after the Galactic Empire is defeated. The
galaxy is faced with a new threat from an evil villain named Kylo Ren and also the First Order which
is a military dictatorship. A defector stormtrooper FN2817 also known as Finn escapes the realm of
the darkside and Kylo Ren. He ends up on Tatooine, which is a planet, where he meets Rey and BB 8,
where they have to escape Kylo s minions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For both movies, it is a little confusing in the beginning because of the new characters in the
beginning of the movies and you just jump right into the plot line. The Force Awakens plot line seems
to make more sense throughout the movie and it s easier to understand if you have watched the other
movies. It has the same characters as the previous movies but there are a few new characters. In The
Force Awakens, the movie takes place at least 20 years after Return of the Jedi. Princess Leia and Han
Solo have a son together, and becomes evi. Rogue One has new characters in it and doesn t fit as well
as it should because of the new characters, which makes it a little more complicated to follow along
with since there is a lot of new characters to keep track of. When watching the movies, watching them
in order by movie number is ideal. Rogue One fits in after the Empire Strikes Back and before Return
of the Jedi because the plot line places the movie in that time period. The Force Awakens fits in after
Return of the Jedi because that is what the timeline places the movie

The Importance Of Eternal Life
First, let s be absolutely clear on what God wants for each of us. He wants us to have all of the
blessings of eternal life. He wants us to become like Him. To help us do that, He has given us a plan.
This plan is based on eternal truths and is not altered according to the social trends of the day. (Elder
Jeffrey R. Holland.) My dear brother I want you to be sure that you know how much the Lord loves
you and to have clear that he gave us commandments, but at the same time free will. This means that
you have the power to choose how to live your life. As the Lord loves you I love you too, and I want
to see you shining and doing what makes you happy, but I can assure you that out of the Lord´s path
you will not be as happy as you would if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are to follow them in marrying and providing physical bodies for Heavenly Father s spirit
children. Obviously, a samegender relationship is inconsistent with this plan. (Elder Jeffrey R.
Holland.)
In The Family: A Proclamation to the World, the First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles
proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central
to the Creator s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. As we were commandment to be fruitful
and multiply we need to focus on the plan and follow this commandment. Our responsibilities to learn
and understand the doctrine of the plan, to uphold and be examples of righteous marriage, and to teach
correct principles in the home and at church may cause us to wonder if we are equal to the task. We
are ordinary people who must accomplish a most extraordinary work. (Elder David A. Bednar Ensign,
Jun 2006, 82 87.) The Lord loves us and want us to follow the plan, but if we decide to do not do it is
when we break his commandments and when its consequences follow, and yes he still loves us. But he
expects us to live the commandments and to repentance whenever we break them. Do not feel attack
by the Church or by the ordinances instead ask for the guide of the Lord and pray with a humble heart
search of the truth. Doubts are fine as long as we find answers to them. I weep with admiration and

Essay about Anti-War Movement in the United States
Anti War Movement in the United States
During the late 60s and early 70s, anti war movement was steadily progressing in the United States.
The peace movement was directed to stop all forms of war. As the sixties wore on many anti war
groups began to form in the United States to protest for peace. These included the Black Panthers, the
SDS, Woodstock, music and flower power, and the Hippy Movement. The anti war movement
attracted people from college campuses, middle class suburbs, labour unions and government
institutions. Pacifists were also against the war on moral and religious grounds as they believed all war
is wrong because it is against Christian teaching. By the end of the sixties, ... Show more content on

The source portrays a negative image for the war in Vietnam as it shows young children running from
their homes which have just been bombed. This may have been one of the reasons for the anti war
movement because the distraught faces of the innocent children brought a feeling of guilt to the
American people. However this source is biased and may have been used as propaganda to try and
persuade the American people that taking part in the war would result in the loss of many innocent

Source C is by Richard Hamer, an American journalist, writing in 1970 about the widespread

shocking sentence which made American people feel that the U.S involvement in Vietnam was
resulting in many gruesome and pointless deaths. This source is fairly reliable, however it may have

Types Of Conventional Pid Controller
Conventional PID controller is one of the most widely used controllers in industry, it have remained,
by far; the most commonly used in practically all industrial feedback control applications. The main
reason is its relatively simple structure, which can be easily understood and implemented in practice.
On the other hand the recent advancement in fractional calculus has introduced applications of
fractional order calculus in control theory. One of the prime applications of fractional calculus is
fractional order PID controller and it has received a considerable attention in academic studies and in
industrial applications. Fractional order PID controller is an advancement of classical integer order
PID controller. In many cases fractional order PID controller has outperformed classical integer order
PID controller. In the field of automatic control, the fractional order controllers would lead to more
precise and robust control performances. Although it is reasonably true that the fractional order
models require the FOPID controllers to achieve the best performance, in most cases the researchers
consider the fractional order controllers applied to regular linear or non linear dynamics to enhance the
system control performances.
In this chapter, the design of fractional order PID controller is considered in order to minimize certain
performance indices such as integral square error. An artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm is used to
tune the parameters of FOPID controller,

In The Stories Of Eva Luna By Isabel Allende
In the unique position of being both related to the Marxist president whose reign preceded that of
Augusto Pinochet, and a woman in an increasingly gender sensitive society, Isabel Allende witnessed
much of the tragedy that befell Latin America in the late 1900 s. Allende made it her task to combine
elements of the magical and absurd with her own struggles, and those of society under oppressive rule
and stereotypes. She ultimately acted as an influential supporter of women s empowerment, and she
harnessed this desire for equality and strength through her own literary work. In her 1989 collection of
short stories entitled The Stories of Eva Luna, she takes a peculiar, yet transcendent stance on the
reality of women s lives within the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, by way of the crippling two words that she whispers to him, the power that was thought to
lie in the figure of the Colonel comes to lie entirely in the more prudent Belisa. Similarly, in the story,
If You Touched My Heart, Amadeo Peralta has complete control of Hortesina, locking her up in a cell
for his aesthetic pleasure and, because he felt like it. (66) But by the end of the story, the same
exchange of power plays out, with Peralta now in a cell and Hortesina observing, healthy and well,
from the outside. The same external, intergender powerplay is found in many of the stories in this
collection. Additionally, a theme of agony and despair penetrates these stories, and characters find
themselves in situations they have little control over. In The Gold of Tomas Vargas, Antonia Sierra is a
young woman married to Tomas Vargas, a miser in matters of family and a quarreling spender in
matters of personal interest. By the time she was 40, she, had hardly a tooth left in her head, her once
audacious body had been ruined by work, births and miscarriages (51). Furthermore, when it is

Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government...
Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government
The provisional government was brought about after the fall of the Tsarist government collapsed. This
was done purely because of lack of support for the Tsar and being the only major party. They were in
power for 8months and after making five serious errors; they were removed from power by force.
Kerensky ran the provisional government and it was his lack of judgement, just like the Tsars stupidity
and gullibility that let him down.
The first error he made was that he made no attempt to make the provisional government legitimate. It
never held a democratic election for fear of losing status. Even though at the start of their reign ...

This left an army that was majorly weakened and people thought that, like the Tsar he was a loser of
wars. The populations now have an even worse opinion of him and it was not good for his popularity.
Kerensky underestimated the Bolshevik s and Lenin. Once he had fought off their uprising with Lenin
s plan of Peace for the Army, Bread for the Workers and Land for the Peasants , he thought sending
Lenin to exile was sufficient. After Lenin accepted that he had lost his chance to become President, an
uprising in Petrograd (Kornilov Affair a point I will go onto in my next paragraph) means Kerensky
has to rearm the Bolsheviks in order to retain order. This leaves other countries and supporters of
Lenin with a chance to send him back into the country and to try and push the country into another
revolution (bringing about communism ideally). Lenin s plan to try to please as many people as
possible could come back into effect and this time it had a substantially negative effect on Kerensky s
position in Russian parliament.
Continuing from my last point, Kerensky s lack of judgement about the Kornilov affair was a
definitive error of his. He thought that the Bolshevik s were attempting to take over Russia by means
of a coup, thus he asked Kornilov to send part of his army to protect him. When they got there,

The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks Summary
Objectivity is an important factor in the world of journalism. Some journalist falls short of objectivity
while others seem may seem to contain too much of it, abandoning the artistry of persuasion. Today
we live in a world where our own president claims the mainstream news outlets publish fake news. It
leaves us to wonder whether some factors affect the journalists reporting. Whether this is ethically
correct is also something to ask ourselves. Journalist Howard A. Myrick, professor broadcasting,
telecommunications, and mass media at the Temple University of Philadelphia weighs in on this his
article, Search for Objectivity in Journalism published in USA Today in the month of November 2002.
The article begins with this quote as his header, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Wild Horses
Wild horses are something that most people know about, at least to an extent. To many they are the
embodiment of the word freedom , they are creatures that have been around for centuries roaming free
in the mountains and wilderness, pretty much left unchecked except by their natural predators.
Gorgeous, majestic, and full of spirit are words that can all be used to describe wild horses and
pictures of them make great desktop backgrounds and calendars that show a peaceful and wonderful
view of nature. What, then, is the issue with the wild horses and why are there arguements over what
needs to be done with them? As a brief explanation wild horses are becoming a nuisance for everyone
around them the ecosystem and humans alike. When left unchecked, as they had been before, what
happens, and why is it such a big deal? One very big word can explain it all: Overpopulation.
Eventually the overpopulation of these beasts would cause, and already has started to cause, an
imbalance and irreversible damage in the ecosystems they roam in. Problems that would, and do,
occur would be the fact that there would not be enough food or water for them as well as other
herbivores, which, in turn, would cause omnivores and carnivores to lack a food source once their
prey starts dying out due to starvation. Some species may even die out, plants and animals alike, if
something is not done sooner rather than later. Poor grazing management would be included into the
overpopulation category simply because the more horses there are the more grasses and other plants
they would need to eat on a daily basis. Not all of the plant depletion was caused by the horses,
however. They had a huge help from one particular species: Humans. Humans have long since
conquered many areas in the world and have taken much of the land from the animals that occupy the
area alongside them, even wiping out whole species within a short time period. Very little space is left
for creatures, like the wild horses, to roam and graze because ranchers were allowing their cattle to
graze in the same spots as the wild animals who then had to find other sources of food and ultimately
caused the entire recourse to either be gone completely or very sparce. Now the horses

Greatest Conceivable Being Research Paper
There are many ways to go about justifying a belief in the Greatest Conceivable Being. There are
numerous disputes to argue a theistic position, but there are also many fallacies that people use in an
unjustified way to prove the existence of God. Using strong evidence mainly from the cosmological
argument, the theory that everything happens as a cause of something before it leading all the way
back to a first existence, and the argument of design, stating that the complexity of nature could only
be explained by a sentient designer, a Greatest Conceivable Being must exist.
The cosmological argument discusses the idea that everything is an effect of a cause. Everything
happens due to something else, and all of that had to have begun somewhere at sometime. If you go
back all the way to the beginning of time and the commencement of the universe, something had to
have happened to caused for this to occur. This is what is believed to be the work of a Greatest
Conceivable Being. Everything in the world that exists, exists because something else caused it,
including the world itself. Thomas Aquinas established his own version of this cosmological theory by
saying, whatever is moved must be moved by another...but this cannot go on to infinity, because there
would be no first mover ( The Five Ways ). This theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

There are debates on whether or not the laws for statutory rape are strict enough. The age of
consensual sex varies from state to state. In some states the age of consent is 16 while others start at

are not mentally prepared. In their article, Enforce Statutory Rape Laws to Curb Teen Sex , Kathleen

Comparing Heart Of Darkness And Heart Of Darkness
Joseph Conrad s book, Heart of Darkness, Francis Coppola s film, Apocalypse Now, and Werner
Herzog s film, Aguirre Wrath of God are very interesting productions, each with their own unique
point of view and illuminating agenda. The book in itself and the films prove to be an excellent source
about violence brought on by imperialism and/or colonialism and how, as a consequence, the
definition of civilized and savage becomes blurred. Via the films, The audience can derive a lot of
pleasure not only from listening to melodies and rhythms that create moods and heighten emotions
provoked by the story, but also from analysing the ways the music reinforces the symbolic richness of
the literary work, establishes new relationships between its elements, sheds a new light on its
meanings and multiplies its interpretative perspectives (Marciniak 67). Having said this, that is not to
say that Heart of Darkness lacked in keeping my attention. I very much enjoyed the internal and
external dialogue that Conrad provides along with his descriptive commentary about the events at
hand. Although the films are considered adaptations of Conrad s book, they both have distinctive ways
of getting the same concepts across to an audience. All in all, after reading and viewing these
constructions it is clear that every individual is able to create their own outlook on how they prefer to
view the delineations of what it takes to be considered civilized or savage; of course, through the

Glasgow Art Club Research Paper
The story of Glasgow s contemporary art success begins at a time in its relatively recent past when the
city was booming.
The Victorian merchants who made Glasgow flourish appreciated good design. From the 1890s,
creations by local architects such as Alexander Greek Thomson and John Burnet, sprung up all around
the city.
The merchants liked to decorate their mansions with fine art so institutions such as The Royal
Glasgow Institute for the Fine Arts and the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists were established,
providing a focus for artists work to be seen and purchased.

Introduction. The Justice System Is A Set Of Institutions,
Introduction The justice system is a set of institutions, agencies, and process that have been
established by the government to control crime and impose penalties on persons violating the laws.
Justice systems vary across the many jurisdictions in the world; this paper is a critical analysis and
comparison of the judicial organization of America against another jurisdiction with an effective legal
system. The parameters around which the comparison will be centered constitute factors like
substantive and procedural law, judicial review, policing systems and international police corporation.

The Procedural law will govern how a legal case will flow it adheres to due process, a right that was
granted by the 14th Amendment. A murder charge on a person, the law must prove that they had men s

delegates that anyone arrested and held for a crime must become aware of all the crimes against them
within 72 hours of them being arrested. In the United States, a defense for criminal intent is the plea of
insanity, where an offender can plead to having been insane when he perpetrated the offense, the
application of insanity as a defense in the United States is synonymous and widely associated with
United States v. Hinckley, (1982). The defendant had attempted to assassinate president Ronal Regan
but failed in his attempts and wounded a couple of people. At trial, defendant produced evidence in
that point to the fact he was not guilty due to insanity. The jury found him not guilty since he lacked
the men s rea necessary for committing the crime. It must be noted that in the U.S, jurors shy away
from finding persons with mental deficiency not guilty, they are punished for their crimes and receive
medical care while serving their sentences, however much they have been rehabilitated they will never
get out of jail. The Norway s insanity defense was first introduced in 1902, it requires no

During The Mid.-Nineteenth Century, Victorian England Was
During the Mid. nineteenth century, Victorian England was divided into distinct social classes. The
three social classes included the working, middle, and upper leisure class. As the Industrial Revolution
advanced, the working class became very isolated from the leisure class and often had low paying jobs
such as a blacksmith, tradesman, and farmer. The wealthy ladies and gentlemen of the leisure class
lacked awareness that their frivolous lifestyle was built on the laborious work of the working class.
Charles Dickens wrote Great Expectations to criticize the social classes during Victorian England.
Great Expectations follows the story of working class Pip as he attempts to fit in with upper class
society while coveting for the affection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Herbert signifies that being a gentleman comes from within, and someone s integrity, like the varnish

behavior and moral integrity, not their upbringing. Whereas Compeyson is a counterfeiter, who uses
his wealthy leisure class appearance to deceive others into thinking he is less guilty than the lower

Pocket had been raised with high expectations herself but was perfectly helpless and useless (188).
Dickens ridicules the social privilege and snobbery that is idolized in Victorian society when the self
centered Mrs. Pocket spends all her time reading books about titles and nobility. Due to the fact Mrs.
Pocket is a negligent mother, her children tumble over her feet, and also play with dangerous toys,
with the Pockets maid rescuing them from accidents. She has no skills, morality, and she lives her
entire life fixated on the false idea that she was meant for greater things. Finally, when Pip and
Herbert join a social club for gentlemen called Finches of the Grove, Pip mentions that the members
would dine expensively once a fortnight, to quarrel among themselves as much as possible after
dinner, and to cause six waiters to get drunk on

Vivian In Pretty Woman
In Garry Marshall s Pretty Woman, Vivian Ward s transformation from a red light district prostitute to
the perfect woman illustrates traits the movie argues make an ideal woman. The movie highlights
Vivian s acquisition of refined manners, taste, and outward appearance in addition to her individuality
and sense of priority to exemplify these traits as characteristic of the ideal woman. One can see Vivian
already has some traits that make her an ideal woman even before she meets Edward. At the beginning
of the movie, instead of partying and doing drugs with her roommate, Kit De Luca, Vivian prioritizes
paying the month s rent even though it is not even her apartment. Similarly, in the penthouse

The Parent Child Relationship
In many books whatever the literary genre they belong to, the topic of the parent child relationship is
often something used and represented. This relation can be represented in different ways depending on
the author and the genre but also depending on the effects it will have on the readership and on its goal
in the story. A very simplistic and legal definition of what a parent child relationship is can be given
through the biological links. However, sometimes the relationship between a parental figure such as an
adoptive father/mother and its child is not that easy to understand especially because a link which is
different and sometimes stronger than the biological one is created. This is why depending on which
parental figure one refers to, parent child relationships can be chaotic, a source of suffering or helpful
and harmonised such as the ones in Stephen King s The Shining. They can be represented as a form of
unconditional love, involving sometimes to risk one of the parent s life and to brave dangers like in
Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu s Carmilla. They can be completely omnipresent and terrible like the ones in
Mary Shelly s Frankenstein or they can be very confusing as it is the case in John Ajvide Lindqvist s
Let the Right One In. By studying the representations of the relationships between four fathers and
their children this essay will try to see how the almost scientific definition of the relation can be
applied to some characters of these books and how a more

Projects that are to be testing at the same areas repeatedly.
Requirements that doesn t change frequently.

Availability of time.
D. How Automated Software Testing is done: Automated software testing is similar to that of software
development process. It goes through the same cycle as of software product in its development. The
most important thing that has to be taken into consideration is who is writing the scripts. The most
common problem with this script writing is on who will write the script, will it be a developer or a
member of the testing team. The best idea to write the script is by the joint effort of the both the
developers and testers.
There is a lot of effort involved in the collaborated work because there is a lot of time and money
invested into it. The automated process is divided into phases they are as follows. Finalization of
automated testing and making a plan for the test.
Tools and customization are selected.
Testing and Development of scripts.
Testing utilizing automated test scripts.

which tests should be automated and which should be manual, and then the test plan is made. The

Nike Vertical Integration Paper
Nike uses vertical integration strategy which is a form of a relationship oriented approach in coming
up with effective and efficient ways of managing its supply chain. This is achieved through forming
alliances and relationships rather than using pricing strategy with an aim of purchasing stuff as cheap
as possible (Frisch, 2008). The company has managed to maintain its relationship with contract
manufacturers for its foot ware by having different types of suppliers. The strategy is used in pricing
its commodities where they have participants at different channel levels so that they could control
costs and influence practices of pricing. For example, there are tier 1 suppliers and tier 2 suppliers

Athletes Vs Intellect Analysis
I think our society values athletes and workers over intellect. When most people turn on their tv, if
they are given the choice between a football game or a documentary about plants, they would choose
the football game. In my opinion athletics and working should be equally balanced with intellect.
Some people will disagree stating that one is more important than the other. Choosing one over the
other can lead to serious consequences. If we spend to much time learning how to work and play
sports, like our modern day society does, we will forget the valuable information like art, music,
history, research, our progress in learning about the universe we live in. We will ultimately stay stuck
in the same spot in human advancement forever. The research

A Global Language English Language
In the article (A Global Language English Language Essay) the author explained what a global
language, and what makes a certain language to be a global language. The author believes that English
is a global language. There are many factors that coincide with the author s opinion. The author had a
lot of points that proved that English truly is a global language. The author demonstrated his facts with
a cohesive argument, using logos and ethos, however due to this being a more research based article,
there is little to no pathos. In the following paragraphs I will analyze the article and show what kind of
rhetorical appeals the author used to further prove his argument.
A global language is a language that is spoken universally throughout many countries. A language is
considered to be a global language when it is learned by a plethora of people. The most popular one
being English. A wide range of English vocabulary was taken from other European countries. Famous
linguist David Crystal argues that languages have a strong relation between dominance and cultural
power. The main reason that the languages exist is because of a strong power base, political and
military or economic. (A Global Language, 2016). The author uses logos to persuade the reader
through historical facts and by quoting famous linguists. He is explaining that the reason for the
English language being so prominent throughout the world is due its dominance worldwide, this will

The founders greatly admired Martin Luther King s nonviolent methods in forcing integration and
attempted to emulate those principles in their struggle. The problem was not in their efforts, or

homosexuals of that era. As the civil unrest of the 1960s continued to grow, with more radical and
leftist movements emerging, the Mattachine Society was viewed as traditional, conservative, and
unwilling to literally fight for the rights of their people. It was not uncommon for the New York Police
Department Morals Task Force to raid gay bars. In fact, during the two decades leading up to the
Stonewall Riots, the raids were more commonplace than naught. Many have speculated as to why the
raids were common some saying it was because of the Italian Mafia s involvement in owning those
establishments, and consequently forgetting to bribe the local police; others believe it to be based in
bias, hatred, and ignorance of people different from oneself. In the Stonewall Inn s specific case, it
could have been a combination of both. The Inn, which was owned by the Mafia, was actually a bottle

Competition As A Monopolistic Competition
Competition in Smartphone Markets
Introduction
The competition in Smartphone Markets is a monopolistic competition, in which the products of each
firm are differentiated and the entry barrier is free. Products competing in the network industries have
network externalities.
Accordingly, this essay will deal with the following aspects of the question. Initially, the concept of
the monopolistic competition is present. Follow by the idea of the network effect theory. The multi
sided market and the core business strategies is analyzed and finally, the examination of the future of
the smartphone competition is shown.
What is the monopolistic competition ?
Monopolistic competition refers to a competition where monopoly exists, and is neither a perfect
competition nor an oligopoly. As the market competition become intense, the distribution of resource
becomes rational; therefore, the level of competition in the monopolistic competition is more intense
than it is in the oligopoly and perfect competition (Roberts et al, 1977). Another reason caused this is
that the products in the monopolistic competition can be easily replaced. Nowadays, smartphones of
different brands are similar on their appearance, details and even functions. The conditions for a
monopolistic competition to exist are as follows. Initially, the products in the competition have to be
differentiated. The differences can be in the quality of the products, the appearance, the label or the
sales conditions.

Essay about Beauty and the Beast
Beaumont vs Disney: A Comparative Look into a Classic Fairy tales and stories are something that has
been around since the beginning of time. Tales were passed down from generation to generation, and
in the case of fairy tales, these stories were not at first geared towards any age group, but instead for
anyone, for entertainment purposes. Growing up, one of my favorite tales was Beauty and the Beast. If
you ask children if they know this story, I would guarantee almost one hundred percent of them
would. However, I m sure the story they would know is that of the Disney version. In my lifetime, the
majority of fairy tales I know are the Disney version. There is more than just Disney s version of

Beaumont does not mention these characters and we find Beauty not falling in love and liking him as
quickly as in Disney. Both stories invoke a child s imagination, either with the addition of these live
castle objects or merely the presence of something magical which the child can then come up with
their own images. By doing this, the child fits unconscious content into conscious fantasies, which
then enable him to deal with that content. It is here that fairy tales have unequaled value, because they
offer new dimensions to the child s imagination which would be impossible for him to discover as
truly on his own. Even more important, the form and structure of fairy tales suggest images to the
child by which he can structure his daydreams and with them give better direction to his life
(Bettleheim 7). In another area, the differences in characters add to some differences in the plot. With
the Disney version, which people mostly relate to, the Prince is turned into the Beast by an
enchantress when he shows his selfishness. It is said that if the Prince could learn to love and be loved
in return before the last enchanted rose petal fell, then the castle s spell would be gone (Disney 2). The
difference in the roses in both stories was that Beaumont s Beast had a garden of roses in which he
told the merchant, I value more than anything I possess (Beaumont 24). In Disney, the Beast has one

A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah Analysis
Politics Are Not The Bomb
When mad, one may act vengefully without thinking. Others take time to mull things over and think of
plans of revenge. In either case, retaliation or vengeance is never positive or fruitful. These negative
effects can clearly be seen in Ishmael Beah s A Long Way Gone through Beah s experiences as a child
soldier, as well as Al Qaeda s attacks on the Atocha train station in Madrid, Spain. Beah s
representation of the effects and dangers of vengeance helps delineate the terrorists reasons behind
their attacks in Spain because both Beah and the terrorists sought retribution for what had been done
to them. During rush hour on the morning of March 11, 2004, the Atocha train station in Madrid,

Causes of the War of 1812 The War of 1812 was fought between the United States and Great Britain
from June 1812 to the spring of 1815 (Findling, 15). When the war began, it was being fought by the
Americans to address their grievances toward the British, though toward the end, the issues eventually

several related causes, such the influence of the War Hawks, the impressments as well as the Embargo

Improving Financial Disclosure And Transparency
Improving on Financial Disclosure Transparency in the Municipal Bond Market
ISSUE
Today, the municipal bond market holds nearly $3.7 trillion in principal outstanding from over one
million unique issues. This debt primarily finances public projects for the 46,000 local and state
government issuers participating in the market. Unfortunately, exemptions for disclosure requirements
as well as an ineffective regulatory structure cultivated a municipal bond market that, unlike the
corporate equity market, remains opaque.
Improving current financial disclosure requirements and increasing transparency in the municipal
bond market will reduce information asymmetry in the market and may lower borrowing costs and
transaction fees for municipal issuers.
For the purposes of this brief, transparency refers to the degree to which information is publicly
available. In the municipal bond market, this includes quotations of pricing securities and volumes of
transactions.
â‹… Pre trade transparency refers to information about the pricing and size of a security prior to issue.
â‹… Post trade transparency includes real time data about transactions.
Additionally, disclosure includes any financial information released by issuers.
â‹… Primary market disclosure refers to official statements submitted by issuers.
â‹… Continuing disclosure consists of a variety of financial information about a bond after the issuance.

Richard II By Richard IIi
Richard II s subjects become increasingly aware of his corrupt ruling, yet they do nothing to
overthrow Richard II because they strongly believe in his divine right to rule. John of Gaunt, Richard
II s uncle, along with the rest of his subjects, allow Richard II to get away with murder and other
questionable acts because he is their king anointed by God. Gaunt reveals he knows that Richard II
played a part in killing John s brother to remain king: God s is the quarrel; for God s substitute, His
deputy anointed in His sight, Hath caused his death: the which if wrongfully, Let heaven revenge: for I
may never lift An angry arm against His minister (Richard II II.ii.37 41)
The Duchess of Glouster advices Gaunt to seek revenge upon Richard II, but Gaunt refuses to take
action and says that the need to leave the punishment up to God: put we our quarrel to the will of
heaven (Richard II I.ii.6). Gaunt is not fearful of what King Richard II could do to him, but of what
God might do to him because he believes Richard II to have been given his position by the grace of
God, therefore Gaunt must stand back and let God eventually handle Richard II s punishment. At the
beginning of the play, John of Gaunt was an advocate for anything that Richard II did; however,
towards the end of the play a transition has occurred and Gaunt starts to view Richard II in a different
manner. Bolingbroke has returned and laid his stake on the English crown, causing Gaunt and some of

Descriptive Essay About My Sisters
I was five years old when I realized that my sister and I were very similar. There were physical
similarities that had my sister and I could be mistaken for twins, but we often acted very different. I
could not fathom at the time how my sister and I could in any way be similar, due to the differences in
our personalities. Sure, we looked alike, blond hair, and blue eyes like our dad. We were tall and both
active. We resembled each other, certainly, but to our eyes we couldn t be more different.
My sister enjoyed teasing me and being annoying, working me into a rage, while I enjoyed being
silent and reading. She enjoyed playing outside, while inside was where I felt I belonged. She was part
of the popular group, and I enjoyed the company of plebeians. These were some of the things different
between us that I remember of that time. But it wasn t some relative physical similarities that
convinced me that we were similar, it wasn t a family diner. It was a meeting at the airport when we
were waiting for our grandfather when a complete stranger walked up to us and told us what cute
twins you are . It was a stranger s comment, what cute twins you are that made me look at more than
our similarities. The stranger s comments made the five year old Anna realize that there was so much
between us. It was not just the color of our hair which was blond, or our deep blue eyes. It was not just
that we were always tall for our age, and still are (my sister is 6 feet tall and I am 5 9 ).
What convinced me that we were so very similar and that the stranger at the airport might be onto
something was some of the things we would say and do in our country home in Missouri. We would
speak double, each saying the same thing at the same moment. This happened many times, and often
we would finish each other s sentences. We knew each other s jokes and could finish the punchline
perfectly as well as one person could. We had the same sense of humor, laughing to ourselves at a
reference or a bit of wordplay doubly said between us amidst giggles to the same joke, or how we d
use the same gestures to express ourselves when we spoke, or how we had the same taste in music.
It was telling our deepest, darkest secrets and our fears to each

Space Telescope Research Paper
The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) was launched into low Earth orbit roughly 25 years ago to allow
scientists and astronomers to peer into space. Since that day, Hubble the largest and most versatile
space telescope has recorded some of the most detailed and awe inspiring images
(http://clapway.com/2015/08/27/hubble space telescope butterfly nebula123/), which have led to
several breakthroughs in astrophysics.
In line with its already established reputation, Hubble (http://hubblesite.org/the_telescope/) , along
with the Herschel (https://herschel.jpl.nasa.gov/) space telescope, was recently used to peer back in
time in order to provide astronomers with an idea of how galaxies within the vast expanse of the
Universe have undergone dramatic trasnforsatioms over the last eight billion years ro so. ... Show

However, only 49 percent of stars that exist in the Universe today are located in these disc shaped
galaxies, the remainder are located in oval shaped galaxies, it according to a statement from the
Cardiff University s School of Physics and Astronomy, whose astronomers led the study.
The results suggest a massive transformation in which disc shaped galaxies became oval shaped
galaxies.
To explain the change, scientists have come up with two possible hypotheses. The first attributes
theformatioan of the oval galaxies to the a merging event, in which two disc shaped clusters that
happen to move to close to each come together due to gravity. The other explanation relates to stars in
a round, lfat galazxy, migrate towards the core to produce the same rough oval.
This galatical shape shifting, as Discovery News states, has been theorized before. Steve Eales, The

Some of the events that happened in this movie relate to some of the material that we covered in class. One event that happened was when Jen and her family travels through the desert and were attacked by Lo and his Dark Cloud on horses. In my interpretation, I believe that Lo and his gang of bandits, displayed some similarities to The Mongols. As seen in the movie, they rode and fought on horses, were nomadic, and lived by raidings, which are things that Mongols are known for. They use horses for mobility and height against their enemies. When Lo and Jen are in Lo s cave, he assumes that she is part of a Han dynasty, but she corrects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Earlier in the movie, porcelain and silk were displayed. Normally in East Asia, silk and porcelain were apart of the Chinese trading goods to parts of Europe, which we discussed in class. It s a historical fiction because, let s be real, there weren t any flying Chinese people sword fighting in a bamboo forest nor on rooftops. Maybe some of the events were inaccurate because the director, Ang Lee, was Taiwanese or wasn t so sure about the concept, so instead of hitting it straight on the nail, he decided to put some inaccuracy into the film. Also, I am not so sure if they did tea ceremonies in China like they did in Japan, but in one scene in the movie, you can see that Shu Lien purposely drops her tea while Jen catches it before it completely falls to the floor. Shu Lien then figures that Jen is the one who stole the Green Destiny. As mentioned in a lecture, we talked about Yin and Yang. I think that there could be some depictions of yin and yang inside the movie. Since the movie is mainly female based, you could possibly see where I am coming from. • 9. Types Of Conventional Pid Controller Conventional PID controller is one of the most widely used controllers in industry, it have remained, by far; the most commonly used in practically all industrial feedback control applications. The main reason is its relatively simple structure, which can be easily understood and implemented in practice. On the other hand the recent advancement in fractional calculus has introduced applications of fractional order calculus in control theory. One of the prime applications of fractional calculus is fractional order PID controller and it has received a considerable attention in academic studies and in industrial applications. Fractional order PID controller is an advancement of classical integer order PID controller. In many cases fractional order PID controller has outperformed classical integer order PID controller. In the field of automatic control, the fractional order controllers would lead to more precise and robust control performances. Although it is reasonably true that the fractional order models require the FOPID controllers to achieve the best performance, in most cases the researchers consider the fractional order controllers applied to regular linear or non linear dynamics to enhance the system control performances. In this chapter, the design of fractional order PID controller is considered in order to minimize certain performance indices such as integral square error. She ultimately acted as an influential supporter of women s empowerment, and she harnessed this desire for equality and strength through her own literary work. Reasons Behind the Failure of the Provisional Government The provisional government was brought about after the fall of the Tsarist government collapsed. This was done purely because of lack of support for the Tsar and being the only major party. They were in power for 8months and after making five serious errors; they were removed from power by force. Kerensky ran the provisional government and it was his lack of judgement, just like the Tsars stupidity and gullibility that let him down. The first error he made was that he made no attempt to make the provisional government legitimate. It never held a democratic election for fear of losing status. The populations now have an even worse opinion of him and it was not good for his popularity. Kerensky underestimated the Bolshevik s and Lenin. Once he had fought off their uprising with Lenin s plan of Peace for the Army, Bread for the Workers and Land for the Peasants , he thought sending Lenin to exile was sufficient. After Lenin accepted that he had lost his chance to become President, an uprising in Petrograd (Kornilov Affair a point I will go onto in my next paragraph) means Kerensky has to rearm the Bolsheviks in order to retain order. This leaves other countries and supporters of Lenin with a chance to send him back into the country and to try and push the country into another revolution (bringing about communism ideally). Lenin s plan to try to please as many people as possible could come back into effect and this time it had a substantially negative effect on Kerensky s position in Russian parliament. Continuing from my last point, Kerensky s lack of judgement about the Kornilov affair was a definitive error of his. Today we live in a world where our own president claims the mainstream news outlets publish fake news. It leaves us to wonder whether some factors affect the journalists reporting. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Wild Horses Wild horses are something that most people know about, at least to an extent. To many they are the embodiment of the word freedom , they are creatures that have been around for centuries roaming free in the mountains and wilderness, pretty much left unchecked except by their natural predators. Gorgeous, majestic, and full of spirit are words that can all be used to describe wild horses and pictures of them make great desktop backgrounds and calendars that show a peaceful and wonderful view of nature. What, then, is the issue with the wild horses and why are there arguements over what needs to be done with them? As a brief explanation wild horses are becoming a nuisance for everyone around them the ecosystem and humans alike. When left unchecked, as they had been before, what happens, and why is it such a big deal? One very big word can explain it all: Overpopulation. Eventually the overpopulation of these beasts would cause, and already has started to cause, an imbalance and irreversible damage in the ecosystems they roam in. Problems that would, and do, occur would be the fact that there would not be enough food or water for them as well as other herbivores, which, in turn, would cause omnivores and carnivores to lack a food source once their prey starts dying out due to starvation. Some species may even die out, plants and animals alike, if something is not done sooner rather than later. Poor grazing management would be included into the overpopulation category simply because the more horses there are the more grasses and other plants they would need to eat on a daily basis. Not all of the plant depletion was caused by the horses, however. They had a huge help from one particular species: Humans. Humans have long since conquered many areas in the world and have taken much of the land from the animals that occupy the area alongside them, even wiping out whole species within a short time period. Very little space is left for creatures, like the wild horses, to roam and graze because ranchers were allowing their cattle to graze in the same spots as the wild animals who then had to find other sources of food and ultimately caused the entire recourse to either be gone completely or very sparce. Now the horses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Greatest Conceivable Being Research Paper There are many ways to go about justifying a belief in the Greatest Conceivable Being. There are numerous disputes to argue a theistic position, but there are also many fallacies that people use in an unjustified way to prove the existence of God. Using strong evidence mainly from the cosmological argument, the theory that everything happens as a cause of something before it leading all the way back to a first existence, and the argument of design, stating that the complexity of nature could only be explained by a sentient designer, a Greatest Conceivable Being must exist. The cosmological argument discusses the idea that everything is an effect of a cause. Everything happens due to something else, and all of that had to have begun somewhere at sometime. If you go back all the way to the beginning of time and the commencement of the universe, something had to have happened to caused for this to occur. This is what is believed to be the work of a Greatest Conceivable Being. Everything in the world that exists, exists because something else caused it, including the world itself. Comparing Heart Of Darkness And Heart Of Darkness Joseph Conrad s book, Heart of Darkness, Francis Coppola s film, Apocalypse Now, and Werner Herzog s film, Aguirre Wrath of God are very interesting productions, each with their own unique point of view and illuminating agenda. The book in itself and the films prove to be an excellent source about violence brought on by imperialism and/or colonialism and how, as a consequence, the definition of civilized and savage becomes blurred. Via the films, The audience can derive a lot of pleasure not only from listening to melodies and rhythms that create moods and heighten emotions provoked by the story, but also from analysing the ways the music reinforces the symbolic richness of the literary work, establishes new relationships between its elements, sheds a new light on its meanings and multiplies its interpretative perspectives (Marciniak 67). Having said this, that is not to say that Heart of Darkness lacked in keeping my attention. I very much enjoyed the internal and external dialogue that Conrad provides along with his descriptive commentary about the events at hand. Although the films are considered adaptations of Conrad s book, they both have distinctive ways of getting the same concepts across to an audience. The three social classes included the working, middle, and upper leisure class. As the Industrial Revolution advanced, the working class became very isolated from the leisure class and often had low paying jobs such as a blacksmith, tradesman, and farmer. The wealthy ladies and gentlemen of the leisure class lacked awareness that their frivolous lifestyle was built on the laborious work of the working class. • 26. The Parent Child Relationship In many books whatever the literary genre they belong to, the topic of the parent child relationship is often something used and represented. This relation can be represented in different ways depending on the author and the genre but also depending on the effects it will have on the readership and on its goal in the story. A very simplistic and legal definition of what a parent child relationship is can be given through the biological links. However, sometimes the relationship between a parental figure such as an adoptive father/mother and its child is not that easy to understand especially because a link which is different and sometimes stronger than the biological one is created. This is why depending on which parental figure one refers to, parent child relationships can be chaotic, a source of suffering or helpful and harmonised such as the ones in Stephen King s The Shining. They can be represented as a form of unconditional love, involving sometimes to risk one of the parent s life and to brave dangers like in Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu s Carmilla. They can be completely omnipresent and terrible like the ones in Mary Shelly s Frankenstein or they can be very confusing as it is the case in John Ajvide Lindqvist s Let the Right One In. Monopolistic competition refers to a competition where monopoly exists, and is neither a perfect competition nor an oligopoly. As the market competition become intense, the distribution of resource becomes rational; therefore, the level of competition in the monopolistic competition is more intense than it is in the oligopoly and perfect competition (Roberts et al, 1977). Tales were passed down from generation to generation, and in the case of fairy tales, these stories were not at first geared towards any age group, but instead for anyone, for entertainment purposes. Growing up, one of my favorite tales was Beauty and the Beast. If you ask children if they know this story, I would guarantee almost one hundred percent of them would. Beaumont does not mention these characters and we find Beauty not falling in love and liking him as quickly as in Disney. Both stories invoke a child s imagination, either with the addition of these live castle objects or merely the presence of something magical which the child can then come up with their own images. By doing this, the child fits unconscious content into conscious fantasies, which then enable him to deal with that content. It is here that fairy tales have unequaled value, because they offer new dimensions to the child s imagination which would be impossible for him to discover as truly on his own. Even more important, the form and structure of fairy tales suggest images to the child by which he can structure his daydreams and with them give better direction to his life (Bettleheim 7). In another area, the differences in characters add to some differences in the plot. With the Disney version, which people mostly relate to, the Prince is turned into the Beast by an enchantress when he shows his selfishness. It is said that if the Prince could learn to love and be loved in return before the last enchanted rose petal fell, then the castle s spell would be gone (Disney 2). At the beginning of the play, John of Gaunt was an advocate for anything that Richard II did; however, towards the end of the play a transition has occurred and Gaunt starts to view Richard II in a different manner. • 44. Descriptive Essay About My Sisters I was five years old when I realized that my sister and I were very similar. There were physical similarities that had my sister and I could be mistaken for twins, but we often acted very different. I could not fathom at the time how my sister and I could in any way be similar, due to the differences in our personalities. Sure, we looked alike, blond hair, and blue eyes like our dad. We were tall and both active. We resembled each other, certainly, but to our eyes we couldn t be more different. My sister enjoyed teasing me and being annoying, working me into a rage, while I enjoyed being silent and reading. She enjoyed playing outside, while inside was where I felt I belonged. She was part of the popular group, and I enjoyed the company of plebeians. These were some of the things different between us that I remember of that time. But it wasn t some relative physical similarities that convinced me that we were similar, it wasn t a family diner. It was a meeting at the airport when we were waiting for our grandfather when a complete stranger walked up to us and told us what cute twins you are . It was a stranger s comment, what cute twins you are that made me look at more than our similarities. The stranger s comments made the five year old Anna realize that there was so much between us. It was not just the color of our hair which was blond, or our deep blue eyes. It was not just that we were always tall for our age, and still are (my sister is 6 feet tall and I am 5 9 ). What convinced me that we were so very similar and that the stranger at the airport might be onto something was some of the things we would say and do in our country home in Missouri. We would speak double, each saying the same thing at the same moment. This happened many times, and often we would finish each other s sentences. We knew each other s jokes and could finish the punchline perfectly as well as one person could. We had the same sense of humor, laughing to ourselves at a reference or a bit of wordplay doubly said between us amidst giggles to the same joke, or how we d use the same gestures to express ourselves when we spoke, or how we had the same taste in music. It was telling our deepest, darkest secrets and our fears to each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It takes about 165 earth years for Neptune to orbit once around The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Space Telescope Research Paper The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) was launched into low Earth orbit roughly 25 years ago to allow scientists and astronomers to peer into space. Since that day, Hubble the largest and most versatile space telescope has recorded some of the most detailed and awe inspiring images (http://clapway.com/2015/08/27/hubble space telescope butterfly nebula123/), which have led to several breakthroughs in astrophysics. In line with its already established reputation, Hubble (http://hubblesite.org/the_telescope/) , along with the Herschel (https://herschel.jpl.nasa.gov/) space telescope, was recently used to peer back in time in order to provide astronomers with an idea of how galaxies within the vast expanse of the Universe have undergone dramatic trasnforsatioms over the last eight billion years ro so. ... However, only 49 percent of stars that exist in the Universe today are located in these disc shaped galaxies, the remainder are located in oval shaped galaxies, it according to a statement from the Cardiff University s School of Physics and Astronomy, whose astronomers led the study. The results suggest a massive transformation in which disc shaped galaxies became oval shaped galaxies. To explain the change, scientists have come up with two possible hypotheses. The first attributes theformatioan of the oval galaxies to the a merging event, in which two disc shaped clusters that happen to move to close to each come together due to gravity. The other explanation relates to stars in a round, lfat galazxy, migrate towards the core to produce the same rough oval. This galatical shape shifting, as Discovery News states, has been theorized before. Steve Eales, The lead author of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
