Synthesis And Testing Of Aa2014 Al2o3
Synthesis And Testing of AA2014 Al2O3(alpha) Nano Composite
Abstract Al2O3 reinforced Aluminium Matrix Composites give advanced mechanical physical
properties. They have voluminous applications in automobile, aerospace, defense, sports, electronics,
bio medical and other industrial fields. Various manufacturing techniques like stir casting, ultra sonic
assisted casting, compo casting, powder metallurgy, liquid infiltration are used for the production of
the aluminium matrix composites. These composites reveal advanced physical and mechanical
properties like lower density, low coefficient of thermal expansion, good corrosion resistance, high
tensile strength, high stiffness, high hardness and wear resistance. Our paper reviews the
characterization of mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness with production route of
casting for aluminium matrix Al2O3 composites. Al2O3 agglomeration along with the increasing
volume percentage is still a challenging task in composites materials manufacturing. 0.5% by weight
of pure magnesium powder is used as wetting agent. Process parameters are optimized for the stir
casting process of aluminium composite. Tensile and hardness test microstructure study was
performed to find the deviation from the aluminium alloy.
Keywords: Agglomeration, stir casting, aluminium composite.
I. INTRODUCTION
The use of Aluminium alloys in aerospace and automobile industries are remarkable due to their low
density and good mechanical properties.

Fashion Admission Essay Examples
It would be an honor to attend the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology. What makes me a
perfect candidate for FIT is my desire to learn and love for fashion. I place myself in challenging
educational environments like honors and AP classes so I can learn as much as possible and excel.
This will translate well into my college experience because I am dedicated to my studies and now that
I will be in a field I am passionate about instead of the general studies of high school, it will increase
my productivity even more. At a young age, I discovered my love for fashion. My mother would let
me wear whatever I wanted, no matter how ridiculous she thought I looked. I loved dressing the way I
pleased. When middle school came, my outlook changed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have been a member for the past two years and it has taught me so much about the industry. We gain
knowledge on the ins and outs of the fashion industry, have the opportunity to give feedback to the
Nordstrom buyers based on what trends us teens think will become popular, and receive advice and
tools to create a career in fashion.
Last summer, I attended a weeklong course at LIM College in Manhattan. Rightfully titled The Stylist
s Role, we learned about fashion styling, from publications to live events, including how to
conceptualize and execute a live fashion shoot. This gave me the chance to spend a week in New York
City, which was an experience in itself. Living in Connecticut, I only ever took day trips to the city,
but this class gave me the opportunity to commute by train each day and even spend a few nights in
the city. I have always been intrigued by the city and it has been a goal of mine to live here. Taking
this class has made me love the industry and the city more and I know it would be a great experience
to spend college and beyond in Manhattan. This class was excellent in portraying the job of a stylist.
Our class s fashion shoot consisted of clothing pieces us students pulled on our own in groups to fit
our designated theme, a professional model, a professional

Hans Use Of Political And Social Themes
Hans Haacke has been characterized as among some of the most revolutionary and controversial
contemporary and conceptual artists of all time. Haacke s works are generally simply constructed yet
exquisitely permeated with depth and importance through his integration of social, political, and
environmental issues in his pieces that give them a voice they would otherwise lack. In the following
essay, we will seek to understand just how Hans Haacke s use of political and social themes causes his
work to resonate with audiences on the scale it has done. When gazing upon the vast expanse of art
history, it becomes evident that the greatest and most influentially revolutionary individuals are not
those that dabble in the popular and well studied styles of old. Those who are great flee from average
and explore uncharted new territories. The individuals that choose to really set themselves apart from
the rest of art culture are those who branch out in totally new directions. Those who delve into new
ideas and new ways of expressing themselves through mediums and styles few have trodden upon.
Hans Haacke has cemented himself in history as one of these influential and revolutionary individuals.
His pioneering work of a conceptual nature was unparalleled and unmatched by his competitors at its
conception. Hans Haacke was born August 12, 1936 in the little town of Cologne, Germany. Before he
started formal education, he was part of an global organization known as Zero. Zero was a

Prometheus Bound Essay
The ancient Greeks had many hardships and even resemble those that we are facing in current times;
yet, to tell these stories they shrouded them in fiction so they could tell a truth. In the short play
Prometheus Bound, we find the main character Prometheus being bound to the face of a desolate cliff
so that he may face the elements and never have a human look upon him since he favored humans
over Zeus. Here I will tell my analysis of Prometheus Bound from the understanding of who
Prometheus was, the conflict that is presented among some of those who visited him, and what his
story has on our current society.
Prometheus was a deity that had once been one of the original Titans and since is name means
forethought in Greek he was known as one of the smartest or the smartest gods that resided on Mount
Olympus. As his name says he knew that the Titans would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is Hephaistos reaction to having to bind Prometheus. Being a similar deity and of equal rank,
he found it hard to do his job except out of fear of also having the same happen to him. Strength and
Power are similar to a secret police force or enforcers of big brother to make sure that orders are
followed since they have no feelings other than hate for Prometheus for braking Zeus law. Ocean
wants to defend Prometheus, but was also the one who was a trader of Prometheus, Atlas, and
Typhoon; however, if he tries to defend Prometheus then he may also end up in the same fate. Each of
these types of situations has occurred multiple times over the centuries when dictators or organizations
create fear among those living under their rule. Those like Strength and Power were either born into
the scenario or had gained power and enjoy it they will do anything to keep it. Hephaistos doesn t
agree with what is going on, but won t speak out against it. Ocean realized that he did wrong and

Comparing Heroes, Idunn s Apples Of Youth
Compare and contrast 2
Giants, eagles, guards of the rainbow landing, and gods with amazing powers! These are some of the
subjects of the Viking myths. Three different myths will be described including Freya s Wonderful
Necklace, Idunn s Apples of Youth, and Thor and the Jotun Utgardsloki. Comparison will be between
the video that tell of the myths along with the stories that were written. The videos and the story are
similar and different in many ways. In the Idunn s Apples of Youth, the eagle grabs Loki and flies into
the air, telling Loki he ll let him go if he does what the eagle says. After the eagle takes away Idunn
and her apples that caused all the gods to stay young and immortal, the gods all get old and wrinkly.
The video is much more descriptive and gives much more of the details surrounding the myth. The
video talks about Loki going to a castle and rescuing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the differences of the story and video is how Loki stole the necklace. Loki turned into a fly to
get into her room. In the story, Loki turned into a fly, buzzed in Freya s ears so she was distracted in
her sleep. She lifted her hand off the necklace to get the fly away from her ear. Loki turned into his
normal self and took the necklace. When he got to the water he turned into a seal. Heimdall saw the
seal with something in its mouth so he turned into a seal as well. He chased and fought Loki to get it
back. He then returned it to Freya. In the story, it doesn t give a back story for the necklace like the
video does. The video explains that she had to kiss goblins to get the beautiful necklace and she was
punished for doing such a horrible thing. She shamed herself and her kingdom, so she had to wear the
necklace. Her husband left her when he found out what she had done for the necklace. When it was
returned, Odin said she learned her lesson and she didn t have to wear it

Mary Wollstonecraft The Vindication Of The Rights Of Women
The vindication of the rights of women, by Mary Wollstonecraft, is a cry for help. Recorded amongst
the pages from within a time period where society pushed her to a breaking point where she described
her existence as a sorrow indignation... Wollstonecraft argued, and she did it very well, that women
are starved of education in order to be trained to focus on their looks for the pleasure of men. She
spilled her sorrows as is told to abandon traits such as having a strong opinion, nobility, or voicing
oneself. As these traits were considered masculine, and unflattering to be expressed by women. Traits
of being outspoken, forming, and expressing that opinion were designated as masculine by men so that
they could retain their grasp on society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

soon find herself cast aside when she grows old and a young face will steal men s heart. She elegantly
expressed that a man looks to find the youngest and most beautiful girl he can find and extend his
family tree. Wollstonecraft also argued that men underestimate women and how they think are unable
to compete in a man s world. That they do not understand that women are just like men and if they
were trained, as young boys are in school, they could be independent and capable of being a play
writer. Such as what Virginia Woolf s work The Story of Shakespeare s

Essay on Goal and Targeted Marking in Super Bowl Budweiser Ad
For me among all the Super Bowl Ads, 2014, the most memorable and effective one was the
Budweiser s, Puppy love ad. It was a heartwarming story to see an adorable puppy s determination to
hang out and be friends with his favorite famous Budweiser Clydesdale horse.
This commercial tells us a remarkable story of love/bond between Labrador retriever puppy and a
Clydesdale horse. First there were the majestic beautiful horses on a horse ranch, and then there was
this adorable playful Labrador retriever puppy on a puppy adoption center, who daily escaped and
made his way to the horse ranch to play and be friends with his favorite famous Budweiser Clydesdale

Least effective Super Bowl Ad GoDaddy Bodybuilder
This was my least favorite as well as effective commercial for me from this year s Super Bowl ads. It
starts off with a bunch of body builders running led by Danica Patrick, the race car driver who s
wearing a black and neon green top and shorts muscle suit running towards a spray tan salon. She
knocks on the window of the salon and the ad ends with the punch line, it s go time.
First of all the commercial was too short, I thought it was teaser and it felt like an incomplete ad. Didn
t really understand the ad and had to watch it repeatedly to understand what the advertiser were trying
to say. Basically, the ad ends with owner of the spray salon saying, it s go time, while spraying a little
orange puff of tanning solution. This commercial is targeting smart small business owners and the
goal of this ad is to increase awareness for GoDaddy s web hosting services.
I hosted the Super Bowl party this year and most my friends thought it was the lamest ad they have
seen in years. This ad was the least effective because it wasn t entertaining, I personally don t like
seeing women with bulked muscles (gross) even though it was the famous racecar driver Danica
Patrick, and more importantly it wasn t noteworthy. It was too depressing, even with the celebrity
filled commercial it couldn t do it. I think for the amount ($$) paid, GoDaddy, could

The Value of a Jury System
The Value of a Jury System
The Founders of our nation understood that no idea was more central to our Bill of Rights indeed, to
government of the people, by the people, and for the people than the citizen jury. It was cherished not
only as a bulwark against tyranny but also as an essential means of educating Americans in the habits
and duties of citizenship. By enacting the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendments to the Constitution,
the Framers sought to install the right to trial by jury as a cornerstone of a free society.
The Framers of the Constitution felt that juries because they were composed of ordinary citizens and
because they owed no financial allegiance to the government were indispensable to thwarting the ...

Tocqueville keenly understood these linkages: The jury system as understood in America seems to me
to be as direct and extreme a consequence of the . . . sovereignty of the people as universal suffrage.
They are both equally powerful means of making the majority prevail. The jury is above all a political
institution [and] should be made to harmonize with the other laws establishing the sovereignty . For
society to be governed in a settled and uniform manner, it is essential that the jury lists should expand
or shrink with the lists of voters .
[In general] in America all citizens who are electors have the right to be jurors.
We have come to think of voting as the quintessential act of democratic participation. Historically, the
role of the people in serving on juries was often likened to the role of voters selecting legislative
bodies, and even to the role of legislators themselves. Indeed, the jury s place in the judicial
framework was closely related to the idea of bicameralism: Just as the legislature comprised two equal
branches, an upper and a lower, juries and judges constituted the lower and upper branches,
respectively, of the judicial department.
The Supreme Court has reinforced the linkage of jury service and voting as part of a package of
political rights. For example, in a 1991 case challenging race based exclusions in jury selection,
Justice Anthony Kennedy observed in his majority opinion that with the

Comparsion of Jack London s The Call of the Wild and John...
This is the four line epigraph present on the first page of The Call of the Wild by Jack London. Before
you try to find how this section of Atavism by John Myers O Hara, relates to the theme of The Call of
the Wild, you must understand the words used. Nomadic means moving around and not staying in one
place. O Hara uses these words in a weird order, because it seems like it should say that your nomadic
longings are leaping. The first line of this epigraph says that if you stay in one place for a long time,
your instincts (old longings from ancestors) to move from place to place (to be nomadic) are going to
flare up. Chafing means to cause annoyance. By using the phrase Chafing at custom s chain O Hara
means that you are being annoyed by traditional ways. Custom s chain refers to these traditional ways.
Therefore the feelings to want to become nomadic are clashing with the feelings of following tradition
s ways. Brumal means wintry. O Hara is using this as a metaphor with the direct meaning being
waking up from winter hibernation, but the deeper meaning is the realization or awakening of the need
to break away from traditional ways. Ferine means wild and strain in this case means type. When O
Hara uses ferine as an adjective to describe strain, he is referring to the wild side we each have due to
our natural instincts. All in all Old longings nomadic leap, Chafing at custom s chain; Again from its
brumal sleep wakens the ferine strain, means we are

Critique of a Research Article about Incarceration in the...
Background In a study of children that had a family member or family associate incarcerated prior to
their 18th birthday, Loper Nichols (2012) attempted to address the impact that such incarceration had
on such children. It was expected, consistent with previous literature, that household incarceration
would have an impact on academic outcomes. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the
relationship between household incarceration and two outcomes: failure to graduate high school and
extended school absence. Loper and Nichols (2012) examined three factors:
1. If youth with incarcerated household members experienced more social and economic adversity and
worse school outcomes than the rest of the sample.
2. Whether household member ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, this influence is not only related to the parents influence, but is extended to other close
relationship s in the child s household. Other theories that may explain how incarceration has an
impact on children are strain, attachment, social control, and stigma.
Loper and Nichols hypothesized that household incarceration would have a great impact on academic
outcomes of the children in the household.
Methods
There were several relevant variables used in this study. The control variables used were demographic,
socioeconomic, and other adversity variables such as sex, ethnicity, poverty status, mother s
educational attainment, cognitive ability, and home environment quality. The dependent variables in
this study were related to academic outcomes such as extended absences and failure to graduate from
high school. The independent variables used were parental incarceration, sibling incarceration, and
other household member s incarceration (Loper and Nichols, 2012). The study by Lopers and Nichols
was a longitudinal, study design using data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, Child
and Youth survey (NLSY 2010), which included women and their children. According to Lopers and
Nichols, Out of the sample, 585 met criteria for the household incarceration status, to be compared to
2,753 individuals who did not experience household incarceration (p. 5). Furthermore, it

If Mommy Was Breastfeed Essay
If Mommy is sick, can she breastfeed?
When you are sick, you and your baby will almost always benefit from continuing to breastfeed. There
are very few illnesses that require a mother to stop nursing.
Since most illnesses are caused by viruses that are most contagious before you even realize you are
sick, your baby has already been exposed before you even develop symptoms (such as fever, diarrhea,
vomiting, rash, runny nose, cough, etc). Continuing to breastfeed will help protect your baby from the
infection, because your body produces antibodies to the specific organism that is causing the infection,
and you pass them on to the baby in your breast milk. Often, a breastfed baby will be the only member

Sex Trafficking And Child Prostitution Summary
In regards to their essay on sex trafficking and child prostitution, Kristof and WuDunn note their
successful and failed efforts to help these women. Each time they interviewed a woman, they bought
her from the brothel owner and aimed to set her up for economic success outside of forced
prostitution. However, one girl quickly and willingly returned to the brothel due to her drug
dependence (where she obtained the addiction from being forced to take drugs in order oblige her
customers). Kristof and WuDunn indicated, that in order to effectively help women, advocates need to
focus on prevention, through education, empowerment to give women a voice, and putting brothels

Grand Jean Company
Introduction:
Founded in the 19th century, the Grand Jean Company survived the large economy crises in 1929. It
became one of the largest clothing companies in the world around 1989. Its main products are pants
for men and boys. But also women pants are produced there. With the wash and wear , bell bottom
and flare leans and modern casual pants, the company was market leading.
The company owns 25 plants for manufacturing with an output capacity of 20.000 pants per week.
However, this production is not enough to satisfy the demand on the market. As a result of that, the
company decided to employ independent manufacturers. Last year, these contractors produced one
third of the total sales.

Moreover, evaluating the performance only at the end of the year, pushes plant manager to be

one of its principal problem is that it doesn t arrive to satisfy the clients needs due to not enough
production (they have to begin ration the pants to buyers as early as four months prior to close of the
production year). However, we could notice that the goals of production division and marketing one
don t meet this goal. Indeed, the goal of the production s division is to meet the quota while the
objective of the marketing division is to forecast the sales unit and sales dollar (but if the production
could not achieve to product these forecast the net income will not increase). Therefore, there is no
real cohesion in the objectives. That is why, Grand Jean calls upon independent contractors. But, it
increases the cost (of establishing a contract for instance) and furthermore, these contractors become a
competitor of the Grand Jean plants although they have not the same bottom line responsibility (it s an
advantage for them and in a very competitive market like the pants one it is a problem). The
Management Control system of Grand Jean don t influence behavior in a goal congruent manner.

The Role Of An Engineer Essay
When talking about engineering, people would probably have pictures in their mind of engineers using
machines producing parts, drawing and sketching designs, or even doing some mathematical
calculations. A more general answer to what engineers actually do would be that they solve social
problems through the use of machines, devices, systems, materials and processes. They are all
absolutely correct. But in reality, both the job and the role of an engineer are more complicated. They
do not only have to work with machines and designs. Engineers are often involved in communications
and negotiations. They have to work with different people and the responsibility that they have is
massive. Important decisions are made by them and they have to use their own judgement. And very
often, ethical considerations are already built into the decisions they make. In order to make the best
decisions, they have to be understood in the context of their role in society and, moreover, they need
to develop good ethical awareness and be able to deal with the dilemmas that they have to face every
day. As mentioned above, it is very important for engineers to understand their own responsibilities. In
1960, the Conference of Engineering Societies of Western Europe and the United States of America
defined professional engineer as follows:1 A professional engineer is competent by virtue of his/her
fundamental education and training to apply the scientific method and outlook to the analysis

The Sexting Phenomenon Essay
Cell phones are common objects found in the pockets and bags of almost everyone one in the world.
Recently, cell phones have been getting teens and adults into trouble. Most individuals send and
receive text messages. The newest trend among some individuals is sex texting or sexting. Sexting is a
dangerous yet contagious phenomenon contaminating the lives of teens and adults all over the country,
if not the world. This phenomenon can have serious consequences. Even after surveying 1300
teenagers, one in five say they ve sexted, although they know that it could be a crime (Feyerick and

Not only can sexting get attention, but it can also be used as a tool to get a man interested, if not
already interested. A woman who has sexted before claimed that sexting is just another tool in the
arsenal to flirting (Tapper). In that same article, another woman said that sexting lets your inner
woman out. (With your cell phone) you can be the freakiest, dirtiest and most sexually uninhibited
woman around. This same woman also claimed that sexting is another tool in the arsenal to stay on his
mind 24/7 (Tapper). Teenagers see sexting as high tech flirting as well (Kingston). Sexting isn t just
something to do while bored or to get attention, but it s also used to stay on the mind of his or her
lover all the time.
Although it is a useful tool to get on someone s mind, sexting can alter, if not destroy, the perception
of how we look at the human body. It can be a piece of beauty that we should care for, or it can be a
piece of garbage that we can toss to whomever we d like. Sexting is degrading the image of the body.
Kids and even some adults need to know about the importance and beauty of the body. If we teach the
sexting population about how to care and respect the body, then maybe we can decrease the amount of
people sexting (Rede). But, part of the problem with this solution is that some individuals fell they
already know about the importance of the body and they don t think that way. Instead,

The Poverty Trap Of Africa

The Poverty Trap Imagine a small village in Africa. What images come to mind? Is it small huts in a
desolate village? Or how about exotic animals? The truth is that although some of these descriptions
are accurate, they tend to leave out the pain and suffering of people. Every day 21,000 children die
throughout different parts of the world (Shah). These deaths are the result of poverty as well as the
conditions that come with it. Being in poverty is so much more than just not having money. Hunger,
lack of resources, and wars plague developing countries, all of which have to do with poverty. Around
870 million people in the world are severely undernourished ( 2013 World Hunger). With 7.1 billion
people living in the world this means that 1 in 8 of them aren t getting enough food to sustain what
their bodies need (2013 World Hunger). Not surprisingly though 852 million of the hungry live in
developing countries (2013 World Hunger). What causes the developing countries to be so far behind
the rest of the world when it comes to lacking the basic resources needed by every human being?
Dictionary.com defines a developing country as a country having a standard of living well below that
possible with financial or technical aid (Dictionary). Looking at this definition, it s easy to understand
why world hunger isn t its own problem, but connected to the poverty levels. There s a saying that

A worldview is the term use to describe a complete way of viewing the world around you. Worldview
differs from person to person and can be determined by religion (Grand Canyon University [GCU],

Pluralism
The understanding of the concept Pluralism is when different people from different class, religions,
race, culture, organizations, etc., are living together in a society and they continue to practice their
different traditions or interest, rather than just one group or culture determining how things go.
Pluralism recognized the fact that different religious or cultures have equal right to voice their ideas or
opinions. No one particular religion or worldview is privileged over others, therefore the truth is
beyond the ability of one group to capture.
Scientism
Scientism is the belief that the best or only way to have knowledge of reality is be means of sciences
(Moreland and Craig, 2003, pp. 246 350). In other word, scientism is calming that the only way to
gain knowledge is through science, therefore every other knowledge that is not form science is either
opinion or false. There is no thought that science has made a different in the society, but that does not
make science the only way to knowledge. There are some inadequacies of scientism, it should be
noted that moral, ethical, and religious claims all involved normative claims about the way the world
ought to be (Grand Canyon University [GCU], 2015).

Slope On Calculus
How can I better facilitate my students understanding of slope (rate of change) while taking calculus?
Introduction
Slope is a very important foundational and abstract mathematical topic that emerges in the secondary
mathematics curricula. It is a topic applied in many fields, including the sciences, but its conceptual
development marks a significant transition to advanced mathematical courses as in the study of
calculus. By definition, calculus is the study of change and motion. In a calculus class, a conceptual
understanding of slope is extremely crucial because it allows for the study of abstract concepts that

on the procedural interpretation of slope, rather than a conceptual development. In addition, students

Furthermore, most students had difficulty describing the importance of using slope in certain cases vs.

Outsourcing emerged on the financial arena during the 1980s and has since then been spreading.
Outsourcing production was furthered with the process of globalization which provided a new
component leading to the strengthening of resources, skill and labor specializations across the world.
The process of outsourcing is using the skill and abilities of a third party to accommodate society on
the foundation of labor. As stated earlier, it was during the 1980s that the process kicked off mainly
due to the efforts of corporations when they began to hire labor forces across the world. Even though

Summary Of Peter Eisinger s Essay Is Detroit Dead
In his essay Is Detroit Dead?, Peter Eisinger investigates the slow decay and degradation of the city of
Detriot, and argue that it is no longer a living city. He uses the analogy of a patient who is diagnosed
with a terminal disease to help prove his point. Eisinger looks at the lack of self governance,
inefficient and eroding public services, and the shallow indigenous labour pool in Detroit, to sustain
his argument that Detroit is on the cusp of death. As well, he uses other literature that points out the
mass migration of Detroiters that started in the 1950s, and the rapid decline of the auto industry.
Eisinger also discusses limitations in finding numerical data for the exact amount of debt Detroit has

He argues that the city does not have an elected official running the city; instead, the state appointed a
bankruptcy lawyer, Kevyn Orr, who answers only to the state governor (Eisinger, 2013). As such, Orr
does not serve the residents of Detroit specifically, which Eisinger states is a central urban function of
a city. Instead, Orr is primarily in charge of recasting the city budget and selling assets to help pay off
the extraordinary debt, and published a report of the situation in Detroit in 2013. Eisinger also argues
that the public services in Detroit are in crisis. The effectiveness and efficiency of the police
department is extremely low (Eisinger, 2013), and that the public transportation system is unreliable; it
should be noted that Detroit is one of the few cities in the United States without public transportation
between the city and its major airport. (Eisinger, 2013). As well, Eisinger states that the indigenous
labour pool holds little attraction to employers in technology or information fields. (Eisinger, 2013).
The city is the 94th least educated in the United States, and less than 15% of city adults have a college
or postgraduate education (Eisinger, 2013). From these arguments, and from other literature, it is clear
that Eisinger s argument that Detroit is no longer a living city may hold truth to

The truth that is privileged in The Handmaid s Tale is that societies/regimes based on totalitarianism

Synthesis And Testing Of Aa2014 Al2o3 Synthesis And Testing of AA2014 Al2O3(alpha) Nano Composite Abstract Al2O3 reinforced Aluminium Matrix Composites give advanced mechanical physical properties. They have voluminous applications in automobile, aerospace, defense, sports, electronics, bio medical and other industrial fields. Various manufacturing techniques like stir casting, ultra sonic assisted casting, compo casting, powder metallurgy, liquid infiltration are used for the production of the aluminium matrix composites. These composites reveal advanced physical and mechanical properties like lower density, low coefficient of thermal expansion, good corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, high stiffness, high hardness and wear resistance. Our paper reviews the characterization of mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness with production route of casting for aluminium matrix Al2O3 composites. Al2O3 agglomeration along with the increasing volume percentage is still a challenging task in composites materials manufacturing. 0.5% by weight of pure magnesium powder is used as wetting agent. Process parameters are optimized for the stir casting process of aluminium composite. Tensile and hardness test microstructure study was performed to find the deviation from the aluminium alloy. Keywords: Agglomeration, stir casting, aluminium composite. I. At a young age, I discovered my love for fashion. My mother would let me wear whatever I wanted, no matter how ridiculous she thought I looked. I loved dressing the way I pleased. When middle school came, my outlook changed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have been a member for the past two years and it has taught me so much about the industry. We gain knowledge on the ins and outs of the fashion industry, have the opportunity to give feedback to the Nordstrom buyers based on what trends us teens think will become popular, and receive advice and tools to create a career in fashion. Last summer, I attended a weeklong course at LIM College in Manhattan. Rightfully titled The Stylist s Role, we learned about fashion styling, from publications to live events, including how to conceptualize and execute a live fashion shoot. This gave me the chance to spend a week in New York City, which was an experience in itself. Living in Connecticut, I only ever took day trips to the city, but this class gave me the opportunity to commute by train each day and even spend a few nights in the city. I have always been intrigued by the city and it has been a goal of mine to live here. Taking this class has made me love the industry and the city more and I know it would be a great experience to spend college and beyond in Manhattan. This class was excellent in portraying the job of a stylist. Haacke s works are generally simply constructed yet exquisitely permeated with depth and importance through his integration of social, political, and environmental issues in his pieces that give them a voice they would otherwise lack. In the following essay, we will seek to understand just how Hans Haacke s use of political and social themes causes his work to resonate with audiences on the scale it has done. When gazing upon the vast expanse of art history, it becomes evident that the greatest and most influentially revolutionary individuals are not those that dabble in the popular and well studied styles of old. Those who are great flee from average and explore uncharted new territories. The individuals that choose to really set themselves apart from the rest of art culture are those who branch out in totally new directions. Those who delve into new ideas and new ways of expressing themselves through mediums and styles few have trodden upon. Hans Haacke has cemented himself in history as one of these influential and revolutionary individuals. His pioneering work of a conceptual nature was unparalleled and unmatched by his competitors at its conception. Hans Haacke was born August 12, 1936 in the little town of Cologne, Germany. Prometheus Bound Essay The ancient Greeks had many hardships and even resemble those that we are facing in current times; yet, to tell these stories they shrouded them in fiction so they could tell a truth. In the short play Prometheus Bound, we find the main character Prometheus being bound to the face of a desolate cliff so that he may face the elements and never have a human look upon him since he favored humans over Zeus. Here I will tell my analysis of Prometheus Bound from the understanding of who Prometheus was, the conflict that is presented among some of those who visited him, and what his story has on our current society. Prometheus was a deity that had once been one of the original Titans and since is name means forethought in Greek he was known as one of the smartest or the smartest gods that resided on Mount Olympus. Loki turned into his normal self and took the necklace. When he got to the water he turned into a seal. Heimdall saw the seal with something in its mouth so he turned into a seal as well. He chased and fought Loki to get it back. He then returned it to Freya. In the story, it doesn t give a back story for the necklace like the video does. Basically, the ad ends with owner of the spray salon saying, it s go time, while spraying a little orange puff of tanning solution. It was cherished not only as a bulwark against tyranny but also as an essential means of educating Americans in the habits and duties of citizenship. By enacting the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendments to the Constitution, the Framers sought to install the right to trial by jury as a cornerstone of a free society. Tocqueville keenly understood these linkages: The jury system as understood in America seems to me to be as direct and extreme a consequence of the . . . sovereignty of the people as universal suffrage. They are both equally powerful means of making the majority prevail. The jury is above all a political institution [and] should be made to harmonize with the other laws establishing the sovereignty . For society to be governed in a settled and uniform manner, it is essential that the jury lists should expand or shrink with the lists of voters . [In general] in America all citizens who are electors have the right to be jurors. We have come to think of voting as the quintessential act of democratic participation. Historically, the role of the people in serving on juries was often likened to the role of voters selecting legislative bodies, and even to the role of legislators themselves. Indeed, the jury s place in the judicial framework was closely related to the idea of bicameralism: Just as the legislature comprised two equal branches, an upper and a lower, juries and judges constituted the lower and upper branches, respectively, of the judicial department. The Supreme Court has reinforced the linkage of jury service and voting as part of a package of political rights. • 11. Comparsion of Jack London s The Call of the Wild and John... This is the four line epigraph present on the first page of The Call of the Wild by Jack London. Before you try to find how this section of Atavism by John Myers O Hara, relates to the theme of The Call of the Wild, you must understand the words used. Nomadic means moving around and not staying in one place. O Hara uses these words in a weird order, because it seems like it should say that your nomadic longings are leaping. The first line of this epigraph says that if you stay in one place for a long time, your instincts (old longings from ancestors) to move from place to place (to be nomadic) are going to flare up. Chafing means to cause annoyance. By using the phrase Chafing at custom s chain O Hara means that you are being annoyed by traditional ways. Custom s chain refers to these traditional ways. Therefore the feelings to want to become nomadic are clashing with the feelings of following tradition s ways. Brumal means wintry. O Hara is using this as a metaphor with the direct meaning being waking up from winter hibernation, but the deeper meaning is the realization or awakening of the need to break away from traditional ways. Ferine means wild and strain in this case means type. When O Hara uses ferine as an adjective to describe strain, he is referring to the wild side we each have due to our natural instincts. The Role Of An Engineer Essay When talking about engineering, people would probably have pictures in their mind of engineers using machines producing parts, drawing and sketching designs, or even doing some mathematical calculations. A more general answer to what engineers actually do would be that they solve social problems through the use of machines, devices, systems, materials and processes. They are all absolutely correct. But in reality, both the job and the role of an engineer are more complicated. They do not only have to work with machines and designs. Engineers are often involved in communications and negotiations. They have to work with different people and the responsibility that they have is massive. Important decisions are made by them and they have to use their own judgement. And very often, ethical considerations are already built into the decisions they make. In order to make the best decisions, they have to be understood in the context of their role in society and, moreover, they need to develop good ethical awareness and be able to deal with the dilemmas that they have to face every day. As mentioned above, it is very important for engineers to understand their own responsibilities. Kids and even some adults need to know about the importance and beauty of the body. Is it small huts in a desolate village? Or how about exotic animals? The truth is that although some of these descriptions are accurate, they tend to leave out the pain and suffering of people. Every day 21,000 children die throughout different parts of the world (Shah). These deaths are the result of poverty as well as the conditions that come with it. Being in poverty is so much more than just not having money. Hunger, lack of resources, and wars plague developing countries, all of which have to do with poverty. Around 870 million people in the world are severely undernourished ( 2013 World Hunger). With 7.1 billion people living in the world this means that 1 in 8 of them aren t getting enough food to sustain what their bodies need (2013 World Hunger). Not surprisingly though 852 million of the hungry live in developing countries (2013 World Hunger). What causes the developing countries to be so far behind the rest of the world when it comes to lacking the basic resources needed by every human being? Dictionary.com defines a developing country as a country having a standard of living well below that possible with financial or technical aid (Dictionary).
