the 1960's. Although their popularity has decreased somewhat over time, the influences they have
contributed during their career have remained apparent even today.
The Beatles originated from the UK in the early 1960's. Before becoming known as the "Fab Four"

Their music was catchy and had a vitality and freshness to it that this time period wanted. They
delivered a laid back type of music. Almost like they were delivering the message that everything
would be fine. History shows that people flock to images of hope. During this time in the 60's, the

Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by
paleoanthropologists Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the Afar
Depression in Ethiopia, Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in '71 when he discovered a
shinbone and femur. They returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones
all belonging to a single individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of

In "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds", there is a lot of imagery; these following examples make it
very easy to project the pictures of the song into the mind. Imagery is shown by lines such as
"cellophane flowers of yellow and green" and "marmalade skies" these lines give the listener a sense
of being there, and being able to see what the composer has portrayed in the song.
The second person technique combined with the technique of imagery, created by alliteration,
"tangerine trees" and "plasticine porters" which helps the description stand out, and adjectives such

There are some techniques that are harder to find, and be easily looked–over. This is shown in the
starting line of each verse is innocent and would maybe appeal to a child's mind. For example the
"newspaper taxis" appearing on the shore could refer to paper boats appearing on the shore.

listener is told to "look for the girl with the sun in her eyes" who appears difficult to find. Not until

children and youth. Young audiences are constantly exposed to popular music through various radio
stations, internet websites, and technology. Since popular music has been making a notable impact

alteration of ideas or lyrics in music that are deemed unsuitable for public hearing. Music that sends
messages against moral norms of society are subject to get censored when getting aired on radio

The movie I am Sam, released on December 3rd, 2001, is a heart–wrenching and tear–jerking movie
showing the bond and the love between a father and daughter. Sam Dawson (Sean Penn) becomes
the father of Lucy Diamond Dawson (Dakota Fanning), who is named after The Beatles' song,
"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". Lucy is the product of Sam's night with a homeless woman,
who was just looking for a place to stay. She abandons them immediately after Lucy is born, leaving
Sam to raise her on his own. There is a greater issue, however, than Sam being a single father. Sam
has a developmental disability, which only allows him to function at the level of a seven year old. As
Lucy grows and develops, her mental abilities slowly transcend her father's.
