Hydrogen Batteries And Fuel Cells
Introduction Batteries/Fuel Cells Fuel cells operate via a chemical reaction which generates electricity.
All fuel cells contain a positive anode, a negative cathode and an electrolyte to carry the charged
particles through the cell. They also contain a catalyst which will increase the rate of the reaction
occurring. The electricity produced can then used to power various appliances. This, in turn, creates a
circuit with the current continually flowing in and out of the cell until the reaction ceases . Recently
the development metal air batteries (which can be produced from a range of metals from Aluminium
to Zinc Primary and Secondary Batteries) have become very important. They are used to power
electric vehicles and other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
O2 + 2H2O+4e →4OH Hence the following radox reaction occurs : Mg→Mg2++2e O2 + H2O+4e
→4OH 2Mg +O2+ 2H20→Mg2++4OH The voltage theoretical voltage and specific energy density of
a magnesium air fuel cell is 3.1V and 6.8kWhkg 1iii hence has the potential for creating highly
efficient fuel cells in the future. This coupled with the fact that there is no shortage of Magnesium on
the planet means that the resources, although finite, are unlikely to run out and so Magnesium is an
ideal material to use. Also the properties of the metal, such as reactivity, toxicity etc are ideal for this
applicationi. Materials Involved in the production of Magnesium Air Batteries Anode As mentioned
previously the anode is composed of Magnesium metal (atomic weight 24.312 ) and is oxidised to
produce electrons. The reason this metal is used because it is lightweight, cheap and has a high
standard potential. These fuel cells are also generally very durable and can be easily stored. Easy
storage is made possible by the fact that a protective film is naturally produced over the positive
anode. However this decreases once some of the energy has been released from the cell. Hence it is
not ideal to be used in a situation where over a long period of time there are times when the cell is not
being used. This is part of the reason why lithium batteries are

Orderly Departure Study
Australia has been involve in many wars such as the Sudan war or World War 2. Australia has one of
the most diverse cultures concentrated in a small region, this is due to many factors, such as wars. The
first generation of the ethinic groups have most likely fled their home land to Australia for safety,
oppurtunity or resources.
During the Vietnam war, many civilians have migrated around the world, including Australia. Before
the war, Vietnamese and other non european migrants found it incredibly hard to gain permission to
migrate to Australia due to the White Austrlia policy. However, the aftermath of the Vietnam war
forced Australia to take refugees in, such as the Vietnamese and Indo Chinese. Note that there was

Many of the Iraq culture originated as refugees from the Iraq first gulf war. Similar situation to the
Vietnam war, Australia had obligation to take in refugees.
Many other wars, such as the Mayalsian, Korean, Japenese, Chinese boxer rebellion and South
African, happening prior to the Vietnam war has attracted refugees, not many came due to the White
Australian policy and the fact that the Orderly Departure program did not influence the refugees,
which is why there is a lower percentage of these cultures (excluding the Chinese due to their
migration after the Vietnam War).
Finally, the Aboriginal culture has been dwindled, where certain clans have died out. This is mainly
due to the White Australian Policy and the Stolen
Generation. But it is the first colonial wars that drove the Indigeneous population to near extinction .
Because the Indigeneous did not own the land (terra nulius) the Britains saw it as a chance to take over
the new land and its resources. This caused a violent outbreak of many turf wars , ultimately leading

The creation of the Atomic Bomb by the United States and the nuclear attack of Hiroshima and
Nagasaki in 1945 sparked the inspiration and motivation of the Soviets to create their own Atomic

prevention of direct conflict that could lead to possible self extermination of the human race. Despite
this the Race of Arms continued. Gorbachev worked with United States President, Ronald Reagan, to

After reading the article on The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by Walter
Benjamin, it gives a lot of things to think about art these days and how it should be, whether the
thinking of Walter Benjamin is relevant to our age of society these days is a different part of the story
but how he interprets art in the article is a totally different thing, so let us view a bit about his article.
Our fine arts were developed, their types and uses were established, in times very different from the
present, by men whose power of action upon things was insignificant in comparison with ours. But the
amazing growth of our techniques, the adaptability and precision they have attained, the ideas and
habits they are creating, make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel that he has a lot of valid points when he says that our mass production and reproduction of art
does not contain the aura that it is supposed to be. This is true because reproduction does not give the
audience a private feeling towards the work of art since it is not the real thing, it is only a
reproduction. A whole new perception of art is introduced to us, but at the same time, it also gives a
whole new meaning of the art and a mode of distraction to the audience. The aura of arts in the
mechanical world, as Walter said, has been moved into a mythological space and into the cult of
genius.
Moving on to the similarities between his article and the movie Shadow Magic that has been directed
by Ann Hu. When seeing the movie and trying to relate with Walter s article, I think the most crucial
and obvious part is about the aura that Walter has been mentioning again and again in his writing.
Quoting what he said,
...the unique phenomenon of a distance, however close it may be.
As I said before, the aura of art is different when human reproduces it because it has lost its aura
because we do not experience the original thing and seeing that we can see almost everything at a
gallery, it is totally relevant. In the movie Shadow Magic, it proven my point when in the last scene,
people were totally captivated by the view of the top of The Great Wall of China. The audience was
not really at the top of the Great Wall but the

Before we talk about Fundamentals of database management system, we need to know what is a Data .
Data is a something which has an implicit meaning and that can be deduced to new facts which can be

It was a first attempt of using data into databases, same time as the hierarchical data model were
developing. In the network data model data is represented as collections of records and relationships
are represented by sets. The most popular network DBMS is computer associates IDMS/R. network
data model were used for large databases. In network model files are related as owners and members

it was very complex. Lets see a example diagram for network data model.

Wit Movie Analysis
Wit is a movie based on the point of view of an english professor, Dr. Vivian Bearing. She is
awakened by the news that she has stage four ovarian cancer and agrees to immediately undergo
treatment. While she struggles through rigorous chemotherapy and her final stages of ovarian cancer,
the movie focuses on Bearing s reflections and flashbacks, as well as her interactions with her primary
care providers. Bearing is an outstanding, hardworking and established educator, yet she has devoted
her life to researching, understanding, and teaching so much that she has come under the impression
of being a lonely and isolated individual. She keeps a distance between herself and those around her.
For example, Professor Ashford, Bearing s mentor, once advised her to use her intelligence, avoid the
library, and go out and enjoy herself with friends, yet she did the complete opposite (Woodward, J.M.,
2001). This just proves that she internalizes herself. Not to mention, it is essential that patients have a
support group, especially family, because it will help patients cope with stress and give them comfort,
structure and dependency so that they are not alone (Caplan, 2017). Alternatively, Bearing rejects
having support as she expresses: I am not in isolation because I have cancer, because I have a tumor
the size of a grapefruit. No. I am in isolation because I am being treated for cancer (Edson, 1999).
Since her cancer treatments imperiled her health, she is more susceptible to

Strengthening Of The Corporate Criminal Justice System
Introduction
A recent debate has centred on the issue of strengthening companies liabilities for their illegal
conducts. To prevent tax evasion, banks and foreign dodgers meet strict liability criminal penalties
(Wintour 2015). Treanor (2014) reports that if banks fail, new criminal responsibilities will be held by
bankers. Accordingly the Curzon and Richards (2007), corporate liability is the extension of liability
for the commission of offenses to companies . Gooch and Williams (2015) define the corporate crime
as the acts or omissions of a company . Corporate criminal liability is the liability imposed upon a
corporation for any criminal act done by any natural person (US legal website [no date]). According to

Women In Sixteenth Century Verona
Smith argues that the gendered domestic spaces, both the idealistic and realistic, of sixteenth century
Verona shows the influence of women on the Renaissance material culture. Smith chose to focus on
Verona and the sixteenth century because although they were behind in their palace building Verona
has more documents pertaining to movable wealth. Women in this time were becoming wealthier
because of large dowries and increasingly being named in wills of family members, contributing to the
movable wealth. The growing wealth of women led to numerous treatises being written on domestic

Masculinity Of Clytemnestra
In this paper, I will discuss the different ways Clytemnestra isn t your typical female character. In most
of Greek mythology women were mostly seen as passive, weak, and constantly taking orders from
men. She was the complete opposite, she was really a one of a kind. More masculine than some of the
men in the stories, and definitely more masculine than feminine she was a very strong, solid,
independent, powerful character throughout Agamemnon. The story definitely wouldn t be as
controversial as it was if it weren t for the boldness, extremely deceptive tactics, manipulative ways,
and ruthless acts of Clytemnestra. She constantly defied the role that was given to women in the art of
ancient Greece, she paved the way for powerful women characters for the future.
The story of Agamemnon was really a prime example of the masculinity of Clytemnestra. From the
point in the story where Agamemnon has to sacrifice his beloved daughter in order to save the people
of his empire and go to war, you could tell that did not sit well with her. I mean it must be the worst
thing in the world to have to sacrifice a child of your own, something that a king had to do. It makes
you think of how great of a king he was to have the balls to do so, but that decision that he made it
stuck with Clytemnestra. It drove her into madness, and ruthless behavior. She wanted her revenge
and she was going to have her revenge no matter what, she was going to stop at nothing in order to get
it. She ruled the

The Importance Of Columbus Day On America
In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. This mnemonic is known by most American adults and
taught to children in some schools. However, this rhyme holds a belief in it that is not true. When
children are taught that Columbus set sail in 1492, they are also taught that when he did so he
discovered America. This is truly and utterly false. If Columbus Day is no longer named as such, the
Native Americans will be celebrated and a minority group will be represented rather than a murder. By
seeing that Columbus did not discover America, Columbus was a murder, and the holiday Celebrated

to common belief, Columbus did not discover America and he never set out to prove the world was

Columbus believed that the diameter of the earth was extremely small even though scientist had
already proven otherwise (Blakemore). In 1942, Columbus sailed the ocean blue to prove that he
could cross the Atlantic by boat in only four days (Blakemore). Of course, the King and Queen

needed more resources. Ultimately, Columbus s famous discovery only happened because the Queen

Compare The Ways Gone And A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah
In the memoir, A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, and the film The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and
Pete, there is a lot to do with poverty, loss of family and independence. Only in different ways.
Ishmael is on his own and has to find his own food, water and shelter along with a few friends. The
boys are all young but were thrown into the real world very quickly and unexpectedly. Mister and Pete
have their mothers, but it does not matter as of the mothers do not seem to care for their children as
much as they should. Mister and Pete come home to rarely any food at all, no money and are scared of
one day, no shelter. Mister has to take charge in his home as a result of his mother being a drug addict
and does not try to help, just like Ishmael had to be his own person by reason of the believed loss of
his family. In the film, police came to search the apartment. Mister and Pete hid as they do not want to
depart to Riverview, the children s home. Every day, the two boys are avoiding the police or running
from them. They must buy their own food, take care of their home and one another. Mister steps up
and tries his best to provide and care for Pete, although being thirteen years of age, he cannot yet
acquire a job. In the memoir, Ishmael and his friends are driven to do everything they can to avoid the

Race, Culture, Income Level, Education, And Class
In every society there is stratification, which is basically a ranking system constructed upon features
involving gender, race, culture, income level, education, and class. Each of these factors fall under the
status of either Ascribed or Achieved. Ascribed status is something that people are born with and is
centered on characteristics that a person can t control like gender, race, and culture. Achieved status is
earned or chosen and is based on characteristics that a person can control such as income level,
education, and class. When looking at Ascribed stratification, the characteristic that appears to have
the greatest effect on a person s status is race. When someone thinks of a wealthy, high class
American, an African American is not typically what pops into their head. This is because African
Americans are a minority, making up around 13% of America s population. African Americans are
also seen at a lesser status because of stereotypes. Labels like criminal, poor, and unintelligent are put
on African Americans which automatically downgrades them. On the other hand, an example of an
ascribed stratification that would automatically put someone at the top of the totem pole in a society
would be being born into royalty or a wealthy family because people do not pick and control the
family they are born into. Ascribed status s also play a big role in India, especially because this is
where the caste system was created which was based on heredity. In these caste systems

Slang can sometimes come off a bit rudely. With the words duh, yeah, and right, they don t sound very
happy. Here s a quote from Kirk Johnson s article, Today s Kids Are, Like, Killing the English
Language :
Parent: Good morning, son, it s a beautiful day.
Eleven year old boy: Duh p.168
Now Johnson isn t saying that it is rude, but to most other people that can be insulting. If you don t
really know what slang means and you hear someone say something about you, you could take that
the wrong way. When communicating, the effectiveness of using nonstandard language or slang can
differ depending on who you talk to. If you are speaking to a friend, then it is fine if you use shortcuts
and slang. But if you are speaking to someone who s older than you, like a parent, then it would be
better off that you talk to them with standard language. One time my older brother said yolo and my
mom asked what that meant. After he explained it to her she said it didn t make sense and it was kind
of stupid. That s why it would be better off to not use slang or shortcuts around older

Henry V, By William Shakespeare
The Real Henry V Through the play Henry V, by William Shakespeare, Henry is portrayed as a King
who is well organized, and in complete control of his command. In the end of the play a different
personality of King Henry is exposed. Catherine s King Henry is vulnerable, and almost begging
Catherine to be his wife. This Henry that is trying to woo Catherine doesn t seem like the real Henry,
he seems vulnerable, and self conscious. When examining Henry throughout the play he is in control,
his moves are strategically planned. The Henry that comes to life at the end of the play is not the
Henry the audience has come to know, he is disheveled and at Catherine s mercy. The real Henry the
play describes is not the Henry from the end of the play. The Henry that begs Catherine for her hand in
marriage seems like a different person than the Henry V that is a pillar of strength and in control for
the rest of the play. The real Henry is in complete control, his every move is strategic, and planned. In
the end his begging Catherine might be part of his elaborate plan to gain control of France which was
his ultimate goal. King Henry V declares rights to the throne of France. He declares war and a right to
the throne of France. When dealing with the face of war, and Talking to his men he is in control and
expects them to live up to the legacy their fathers left to them. Whose blood is fet from fathers of war
proof/ Fathers that like so many Alexanders? (Shakespeare, 3.1.18 19 1504.)

College Essay On Ice Hockey
As a University of Delaware student, I will feel most comfortable with the academics and the ice
hockey rink. My high school is very rigorous academically. There have been many nights where I
have had a lot of homework and studying to do. Although I found it challenging, I am very organized
and have become accustomed to a heavy academic workload. Therefore, I think my high school has
prepared me well and I will be ready to meet the challenges at University of Delaware. When I am not
hitting the books, I will be trying to hit the ice as much as I can. I have played ice hockey since I was
ten years old. I love everything about the sport and have spent many hours on the ice. I had the
opportunity to play in a tournament at the University of Delaware a few years ago. Although I won t
be playing Division 1 hockey, I look forward to continue skating perhaps with club or intramural level

Donner Party Tragedy Essay
Donner Party Tragedy
On a journey to a better life in California, the infamous Donner party, met sorrow at every turn. Before
their journey began, they encountered a shortcut discovered by Hastings. Like any other normal
person, they decided to take the easier route that unfortunately led to tragedy. There were many key
elements leading to the misfortune of this group.
From the beginning of their journey, the Donner party made mistakes. First of all, at the time of the
party s departure there was an outbreak of cholera and malaria. Germs and disease are not good to
carry along a journey half way across the country. Even the slightest germs were deadly to them. After
they passed Independence, Missouri, they were in unfamiliar land. ... Show more content on

Then they ran into a man by the last name of Kleiman. He warned the group that the road ahead was
very tough and that Hastings had trouble on the route himself. Kleiman told Mr. Donner NOT to take
Hastings route, but the Donner party continued despite their warning. Mr. Hastings promised the party
that he would wait for them at a fort along the way to California. When the party reached the fort,
Hastings had already gone ahead a week earlier with another group. He left simple instructions for the
Donner party to follow telling them it would not take long to get to Salt Lake. Then they turned off
track into the wilderness. It took 6 days to chop through to Big Mountain and one month to reach Salt
Lake rather than the week they had been promised. After 3 days they ran out of water and Reed s oxen
ran away and could not be found. Thirty six oxen were lost and wagons had to be left behind in order
to get over the mountain. Then Reed killed Schneider because he was whipping the oxen. Everyone
was going mad. Indians killed 21 more oxen and then the Donner axle broke on the first wagon. To
make things worse, they encountered blizzard like snow and sleet. If they had rested 4 days instead of
5 they would have made it through to California safely without having to deal with any of the
conditions mentioned above. It turns out that Hastings shortcut was actually

Ophelia s Treatment Of Female Characters In Hamlet
William shakespeare authored Hamlet in the very late 1500s which was during the time of the
Renaissance. The renaissance in europe was a time of rethinking and rebirth of old and new ideas.
Over the course of time there have been many who will argue that Ophelia has been used by many of
the male character throughout the novel. Many who just read the play may get the notion that Ophelia
is just a girl and for that time she was told what to do because of her gender. Although Hamlet was
written centuries ago it is almost certain that Ophelia was exploited, oppressed, overburdened, and
used due to her gender for the the male characters in the play
Feminist criticism is simply literary analysis on a text from a feminist point of view. One critic,
Stephen Lynn states, feminist criticism aims to identify and oppose the various ways in which women
are excluded, suppressed, and exploited ( Lynn 193). In Hamlet the character Ophelia is exploited,
suppressed, and excluded. She is exploited by almost all of the men in her life for their own personal
gain. But one may argue that it was the time period that caused these men to abuse Ophelia on a
variety of levels. For the time Ophelia had limited options due to the fact ... Show more content on

life. Her entire family wants her to remain pure so that their family will keep its high reputation. Her
relationship with Laertes and her father are almost identical they are suppressing her in order to
exploit her for their own gains. Another male character in Hamlet is Hamlet himself who is confused
and wants to be with her regardless of what Ophelia s family

Executive Orders Of The American Presidency
Executive Orders in the American Presidency By Niraj Patel POLI 100A Prof. James Ingram By
definition, an executive order is a presidential policy directive that implements or interprets a federal
statute, a constitutional provision, or a treaty. An executive order can also be categorized under
executive directives, and executive proclamation. (1) Though many may think of an executive order as
an alternative term for a presidential proclamation , it is not. Presidential proclamations are strictly
reserved for public policy and for ceremonial purposes, such as the declaration of a day for
remembrance, etc. Executive orders find their roots from not only the U.S. Constitution, but Congress
as well. Though it s powers are derived from outside of the executive branch, executive orders do not
require any sort of approval whatsoever, and the president can utilize these orders to set up policy and
rules while ultimately negating any thought of public opposition. Furthermore, executive orders have
the ability to be applied to a wide range of activities and categories, and in the past they have; from
implementing internment camps during WWII, sending U.S. troops abroad, to ideals such as
increasing the area of national forests. What makes executive orders such a hot topic is that
historically, these orders only regulated the internal operational factors of governmental/federal
agencies as well as to regulate and oversee public lands, but more recently, has

When deciding what wage to start an employee the company may want to separate employees by
experience and skill required for the position. All open position will be given compensation similar to
the marketplace average rate. The salary rate according to Simply Hire starts with the minimum wage
of $15.60, but not exciding$ 20.65 according to Pay Scale Human Capital. Landslide Limousine may
want to consider if their budget permits it to start their wage in between the minimum and max
making the start wage at $18.00 this amount will defiantly help the new company stand out from the
rest of the competition. Limousine chauffeurs average $30,000 a year in Austin, Texas while limousine
chauffeur averaged $18.22 an hour making $35,000 annually in Houston, Texas. By creating and
attractive compensation packages will ensure a successful recruitment rate, retention rate and
employee satisfaction. The process of creating a benefits package for 25 employees will feel as a
sensible expense, but the bottom line will be that at the end of the day the company will not make a
profit. The company must acknowledged that the benefits package will not be a reasonable expense.

The Revolutionary Scheme Of The Texas
The Texas revolution has fascinated Americans for more than a century now, from the epic martyrs of
the Alamo to the unexpected victory of San Jacinto. Lost in all the glory and pain are some forgotten
actors like the New Orleans Greys volunteers or the land speculators. Indeed, the Crescent City always
seems to be left out of classical interpretation of the revolutionary scheme of the Texas. What was the
role of New Orleans? By looking at newspapers published between 1836 and 1839, the city
implication would be put into perspective, using Texan battles description, drafting lists and land sales
ads, to provide insight on the military implications and commercial ties. The Texan revolution is more
than a stand alone event, but one who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The recruitment in New Orleans could be dated back to the beginning of the conflict in 1835. Indeed,
in October of that year, the first volunteers were drafted during a meeting at the Bank s Arcade
building. A lot of the young men in the attendance were to enroll themselves on that night and the
New Orleans Greys volunteers regiment was founded. Their involvement into the Texas revolution
would be essential and decisive but, strangely, forgotten by many. At the time, the Mexican
government openly accused the American government of not doing enough to stop the flow of armed
volunteers, who crossed the border to join the Rebels. In fact, while the United States didn t implicitly
supported the revolution, their duplicity and unwillingness to fix the problem indirectly helped the war
effort. During the month of October 1835, the newly formed New Orleans Grey regiment took the
road to Nacogdoches, entered Texas by the Sabine river and reached San Antonio de Bexar(San
Antonio) by December. It represented a turning point in the young revolution, because the troops
waiting for them had besieged the city since October, unable to defeat the Mexican garrison. The
arrival of the Greys proved to be game changer: (...) several Texan leaders including Stephen F. Austin
will credit the Greys arrival with preventing the collapse of the army and, therefore, the revolution
itself. . They were on the frontline, fighting house by house and ensured victory. Those

The Constitutional Basis Of Personal Jurisdiction
Jurisdiction Personal jurisdiction refers to the ability of a court to exercise its power over a particular
defendant or item of property. Personal jurisdiction may be categorized as in personam, in rem, or
quasi in rem. The primary restraints on a court s power to exercise personal jurisdiction are found in
the United States Constitution, state statutes, and case law. The Constitutional basis for personal
jurisdiction comes from the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. The statutory basis comes
from most states adopting what is called a long arm statute that states the limits of personal
jurisdiction that a state has over the defendant. Most long arm statutes, including CA, state that their
personal jurisdiction may be exercised up to the limits of the constitution. There are two types of
personal jurisdiction: specific jurisdiction and general jurisdiction. A court will have specific
jurisdiction when the activities that gave rise to the case happened in the forum state and general
jurisdiction occurs when the activities that gave rise were unrelated to the forum state. Specific
jurisdiction is easier to find than general jurisdiction. Pennoyer v. Neff, 95 U.S. 714 (1878) established
four ways to attain general jurisdiction: 1) the defendant s presence in the forum state, including
corporations, 2) if the defendant is a domicile of the forum state, 3) if the defendant consented to
being sued in the forum state, and 4) Quasi in Rem (the suit of the thing), where

INTRODUCTION
What is stem cell research?
Stem cell research is the study and use of embryonic and adult cells towards development of medical
science. The study of stem cells has become a major focus in the world of medicine because of its
great potential to cure common illnesses such as; Parkinson s disease, cerebral palsy and diabetes. The
study of maturing stem cells gives scientists insight into possible cures for these diseases and
potentially can give information on how they occur.
History and development of stem cell research
Stem cell research was first developed in the mid 1800 s when scientists discovered the cells ability to
produce other cells. The first medical attempt to use harvested cells was in the early 1900 s when
scientists tried to fertilized eggs outside the human body. The first successful attempt to use stem cells
from bone marrow was in 1968 which was an allogeneic transplant between two siblings. Since then
stem cell research has developed as the medical world gains new understanding of the cells potential.
The use of adult stem cells in modern world medicine such as leukemia and heart disease shows the
progress the scientific world has made.
Different kinds of stem cells and stem cell research
There are two main types of stem cells; embryonic and adult, which are put into three categorizations;
totipotent, pluripotent and multipotent.

Company Complexity Of Ge And Mcvay
Company Complexity
According to Ge and McVay research study findings, business complexity is positively correlated with
firm disclosure of material weaknesses. They hypothesized that the firms with more complicated
transactions likely to have greater chance for a disconnect in the financial reporting process, and thus a
material weakness (Ge et al., 148). To measure business complexity, Ge and McVay used the number
of operating segments reported in the annual 10 K and the existence of foreign currency exchange
translation. Ge and McVay had two subgroups within their study: firms that disclosed material
weaknesses and a control group of 2003 Compustat firms who did not report any material weaknesses.
The Ge and McVay study proved their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In comparison to Doyle et al. study, Doyle and his colleagues hypothesized that the complexity of the
firm is a driver of internal control weaknesses (Doyle et al., 9). To measure the business complexity of
a firm, Doyle et al. used three measures to include the number of special purpose entities, number of
operating segments and the existence of foreign currency adjustment. The findings of Doyle et al.
were as predicted. The three complexity measures were higher in firms that reported material
weaknesses in comparison to the 2003 Compustat firms, who did not report any material weaknesses.
This indicates that company complexity is positively correlated to the disclosure of material
misstatements.
Company Profitability
In relation to the Ge and McVay research study findings, company profitability is negatively
correlated with firm disclosure of material weaknesses. Ge and McVay hypothesized that poorly
performing firms simply might not be able to adequately invest in proper internal controls (Ge et al.,
151). This would result in a greater chance of disclosing material weaknesses. In order to test their
hypothesis, they used two profitability metrics consisting of return on assets (ROA) and cash from
operations scaled by assets (CFO/A).
In reference to the Ge and McVay research findings, as presented in Figure B1 , material weakness
firms had lower ROA and CFO/A compared to the control group of 2003 Compustat firms (excluding

Symptoms And Treatment Of Chicken Pox
Introduction
The illness that I have chosen for my report is Chicken Pox. Chicken Pox is a common disease
amongst children. The disease is highly contagious and can spread through contact with someone who
has chicken pox. Chicken pox in children can spread through cough or sneeze and also through the
clothing or bed linen of an affected person. Most children encounter chicken pox once in their infancy.
However through proper care and precautions, the illness can be avoided. During my research for this
paper, I have come across effective precautions that can be taught to children to avoid this illness.
Chicken Pox
Chicken Pox is commonly caused by an extremely contagious virus known as the varicella zoster
(Hoffmann, 2008). The disease is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The virus usually affects the nerves and commonly causes the chicken pox. Various medicines have
been developed to treat the virus, include some vaccines which can help in preventing the diseases
cause by the varicella virus (Hoffmann, 2008).
Symptoms of Chicken Pox
Usually the chicken pox infections lasts around 8 to 10 days. The most common symptom of chicken
pox is the red rash. The red rash is extremely itchy and appears as a spot. The rash that appears in the
initial period goes through three stages. The first stage is raised red bumps that cause itchiness. The
red bumps break over in a few days. The next stage is the fluid filled blisters, known as vesicles, that
are formed after the red bumps break. These fluid filled blisters should not be scratched. In the last
stage the fluid filled blisters break and are then covered by crusts and scabs. This is the last stage after
which the healing process begins. New spots appear every day on the body therefore it is possible that
the affected person experiences the three stages of the rash at the same time (Mayo Clinic, 2015). The
rashes always appear in clusters and start appearing first at the back, stomach and chest. The rashes
commonly occur on the face, behind the ears, on stomach chest and back and on the arms and legs.
High fever is also a common symptom experiences by people affected by chicken pox disease. The
fever can be as high as 103 104 Fahrenheit. Many children also experience extreme fatigue

The Problem Of Drug Rehab
rehabcenter.net Can I keep working while in drug rehab
Too many people try to keep their addiction a secret for a wide variety of reasons. Many are worried
about legal problems, others are concerned about family reaction, while an even larger number don t
want to lose their job. That s why so many people are concerned about whether or not they can keep
working while in drug rehab. Thankfully, the answer is mostly positive, though maintaining that
balance may be a challenge.
The Short Answer
Simply put, you can keep working while you are in rehab. Treatment centers want to improve your life
and help you achieve success and they understand that keeping you away from your career is only
going to hinder your progress. Outpatient programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thankfully, that is no longer possible thanks to The Americans With Disabilities Act. This law
classified drug addiction as a disability and helped protect people from being discriminated against
due to their addiction.
As a result, you are protected from being fired if your employer finds out you are in recovery solely
for the reason of your addiction. However, if your performance had declined or you had been
disciplined in the past, you may still be fired on those grounds. However, if you have no record of
problems, your boss cannot fire you simply because you have an addiction.
With that in mind, it is important to remember that people who are actively using drugs are not
protected by the ADA, because their drug use and behavior may actually put the people they work
with at risk. So that s why it s especially crucial for you to get into rehab: it can actually help save
your career, not end it.
Staying In Touch Online
The great thing about many inpatient rehab centers is that an increasing number of them are now
allowing electronic and Internet access for their residents. As a result, you may be able to set
something up with work that allows you to work remotely while in recovery. This is perfect for people
with an office job or for those who can t fit their treatment schedule into that of a work release
program.

The Service Concept, Servqual Model And Understanding...
For this report I will be looking into conduction a critique piece examining the ideas, theories and
techniques specifically looking into the purpose application and limitation or the service concept,
Servqual model and understanding customer types.
The Service Concept
Application
The service concept can simply be broken down into three different stages which is firstly the
organising idea this is basically when the service is used or bought by the consumer. The next being
the service provided, this is the process in which affects the way their service provider ends up
interacting with their customer base. Last but not least is the service received, now the service
received is the end result of the customers overall experience in particular the emotions that they then
feel towards this posing the question if they were satisfied with the service provide and lastly was it
good value for the money that they ended up paying for it. (Johnston Clark 2008)
A brilliant example of the service concept would be to look at Alton towers concept which is very
good, the organising idea is quite a basic concept which involves having a great day out at the theme
park with over 100 rides for families and amusement park goers and thrill seekers leaving them with a
vast array of options to choose from.
The service provided is free car parking, helpful staff, huge amount off customer toilets, Clean Park,
and generally well run amusement park. With that being said this is what the customer is

communicate with the patient, family, and society. They are prepared to work with a group of people

communication and writing skills as well are highly required. The nurse has to communicate with the
patient s doctor, patient s pharmacist, patient s insurance company, and with a person who takes every

many situations the nurse has to act as the patient s advocate and has to work with a group of people at

assessment. The patient is elderly and suffers from dementia. The patient s body changes with aging

Military Ethics Essay
The ethical problem is roots in the culture, so solve this problem is inevitable. While the alcohol
consumption is part of our social life, the soldiers cannot avoid it. First recommendation is the
maintaining the chain of command. The commander should assign the chain of command if alcohol
related event occurs in order to maintain the continuous leadership in the unit. He or she should give
the temporary authority to the next leader in the chain while the alcohol s effect disappears from the
commander s body. This measurement could prevent lot of previously mentioned negative effect, such
as decision making and using authority while intoxicated or mind altering state. The next
recommendation is important in the lead by example perspective.
The second recommendation is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last recommendation is for the NATO HQ s service members.
Those soldiers who serve for a NATO HQ should get a training about the HDF Values and the NCO
values to understand to maintain the discipline of the HDF and comply the laws and regulations. This
training should consist of law and regulations, army values and code of conduct and the HDF s Code
of Ethics. These recommendations helps to maintain and enhance the profession of arms by obey the
rules and with saving the traditions.
In conclusion, alcohol consuming in duty is an old visible ethical problem in the HDF, but it needs
some steps to reduce the dangerous outcomes to the unit and the civilian connection too. There were
three big topic, the root causes, the effect to the troops and finally the recommendation to take action
correct the problem. The root causes are the lack of regulation. The Hungarian laws reject the alcohol
drinking only in labor safety aspect; they do not rule the leadership aspect of the mind altering
substances. The other root cause is the operational area, in

Supplay Chain Management
http://www.qsrweb.com/article/100992/Supply chain technology ensures Subway quality Chain
Leader: Subway franchisees have found a way to ensure a safe and consistent supply chain by using
an Internet based supply management system. Subway s Independent Purchasing Cooperative, which
is owned by the chain s North American franchisees, has been using supply chain software since the
end of 2001 and rolled out the food quality component, called Qualitynet, in 2004. Miami based IPC
manages the supply chain from manufacturers through the distribution centers and into the 24,000
stores. Its responsibilities include negotiating pricing, maintaining relationships and managing quality.

By adding lightweight items such as straws and napkins, it was able to cube out the loads and bring an
end to the shipping of air. The third source of innovation for IPC and Subway lay in the production
and shipping of bread. Rapid growth in the number of stores was putting a strain on the old system,
with bakeries running at 110 percent capacity in the summer months. IPC knew it had to add bread
plants; the only question was where. Working with C.H. Robinson, the company analyzed the location
of its current plants and DCs, devising multiple what if scenarios to come up with the most efficient
network and lowest landed cost. One new bread plant in Tolleson, Ariz., operated by Southwest
Baking, deployed state of the art, fully automated systems to allow for increased production and
greater flexibility in volumes. Other facilities were built in Austin, Tex., Columbia, S.C. and Centralia,
Wash. The new network, with plants closer to the source, allowed Subway s vendors to double the
efficiency of bread line capacity while improving product quality, Clabby says. IPC and C.H.
Robinson reevaluate the bread sourcing plan each year, taking into account changes in manufacturing
costs, bakery capacity, volume commitments, market demand and cost per case. IPC works closely
with Subway s marketing and product development managers to support new demand. The $5 foot
long promotion, for example, led to a 20 percent increase in sales. That caused a 48 percent

The Diary Of Lady Murasaki
In the essentially dual religious system in Japan, ideologies and traditions play a heavy role in the
everyday life of the Japanese people. Shintoism and Buddhism intertwine and complement themselves
in Japanese culture, despite Buddhism coming in from mainland Asia. A particularly powerful idea
from Buddhism is mono no aware, the realization and acknowledgment of the impermanence and its
place in the world. This idea that nothing stays the same forever manifests itself heavily in Japanese
literature, whether in personal writings or fictional works. Despite spanning hundreds of years, each
work was shaped by and include manifestations of mono no aware. I intend to underline and pinpoint
instances that mono no aware is influencing these works, and discuss similarities and differences
between them. In this paper, I have three works that I will explore, each one corresponding to a
different time period before the pre industrial revolution; The Diary of Lady Murasaki comes from the
classical period, Essays in Idleness from the medieval, and the immensely popular play Chushingura
from the pre modern era. Kenko, the Buddhist monk and author of Essays in Idleness, took great
satisfaction in the idea of impermanence. A hefty amount of this work deals with Kenko talking about
Buddhist values and the beauty of change. He felt that if man was never to fade like the dews of
Adishino, never to vanish like the smoke over Toribeyama, but lingered forever in the world, how
things would

Snap Research Paper
Today, nearly 57 million Americans receive benefits from nutrition assistance programs such as SNAP
and WIC. The 47.6 million Americans that are part of SNAP are currently able to purchase food
staples as well as prepackaged foods. The 9 million WIC beneficiaries however, are limited to the
types of products they can purchase to only food staples. There is a new bill being constructed for the
approval or denial of Congress that will alter the current US Farm Bill. This new bill will restrict the
purchases of SNAP beneficiaries to food staples only in addition to adding white potatoes to the list of
foods WIC recipients can purchase. These changes will have an impact on the price and quantity of
food markets such as: the rice, sugar, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, those who receive SNAP benefits can only buy food staples such as wheat. Since there will
be approximately 48 million Americans that will only be allowed to purchase food staples, such as
wheat, the domestic demand of this commodity will increase. However, with the application of this
bill the supply of wheat exports will go down in the long run causing an increase in price and a
decrease in quantity, as shown in figure 1.04. However, in the short run the demand for exported
wheat will decrease provoking an increase in both price and quantity, also shown in figure 1.04.
Accordingly, displaying how the modification of the US Farm Bill will affect the price and quantity of
wheat exported out of the US in the short and long

Malaysia s approach on resolving the SCS disputes works through diplomacy, which consists of
peaceful resolutions, friendly relationship, stronger defense capabilities, and stronger economic ties.

disputes using diplomacy at all means in order to keep a harmonious environment amongst claimants

Kenneth Branagh Hamlet Comparison Essay
Kenneth Branagh successfully adapts Shakespeare s Hamlet into a modern film. His version of the
tragedy allows enthusiasts to experience Shakespeare as a movie. Branagh s use of an unabridged
script and flashback scenes provide the complete story of Hamlet. The variety of camera shots
highlight Hamlet s intense dialogue and soliloquies. Patrick Doyle s original score emphasizes action,
suspense, and drama. Therefore, through his screenplay, cinematography, and score, Branagh caters to
Shakespeare enthusiasts interested in seeing Hamlet on the big screen.
Branagh made the choice to include the full text of Hamlet in his screenplay. It is the only unabridged
film edition of the tragedy (Massey). The full script provides the complete story of Hamlet for the
audience. In other film adaptations, certain lines, scenes, or characters may be omitted. In Hamlet
(1948), Fortinbras, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern are cut entirely (Jackson). As well as the entire text,
Branagh also uses flashbacks to further develop Shakespeare s story. Flashback scenes depict Hamlet s
prior relationship with Ophelia, Claudius murdering King Hamlet, and Hamlet playing with jester
Yorick as a child. Therefore, Branagh s screenplay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Long takes and a variety of camera shots are used at strategic times throughout the film. Modern
movie shot times typically range from three to twenty seconds before a cut (Follows). During Hamlet
s soliloquy in act four, scene four, Thomson s shot lasts almost three minutes. The shot begins as a
close up and pans out gradually to a very wide shot. In Hamlet s To be, or not to be speech (3.1.58 91),
Thomson uses a two minute over the shoulder shot. The static camera movement and lingering camera
angles outline the importance of the dialogue. Branagh and Thomson s cinematography requires the
audience to have a appreciation of Shakespeare s writing and Hamlet s

Deucalion Compare And Contrast
Favour Owolabi Mrs. Henderson Honors World Lit. February 3, 2015 Mankind s Death and Rebirth
Being an honorable person is an important attribute to many people. Noah and Deucalion were two
highly honorable men. These men and their families were the only two men out of thousands to
survive a fate that changed mankind forever. Noah was a man from Babylon who feared God and
found favor in His sight. Deucalion was a man from Greece who pleased the gods and was able to stay
pure in his heart. Both men had many similar attributes and purposes for life, but each had differences
that made their stories unique. A commonality in both stories is that mankind harbored evil in their
hearts and had no regard for God/Zeus provoking their wraths. According to the Grecian flood story,
men became unbearably wicked and no longer lived at peace with each other. They were always at
war with each other having no law or safety in the land. In the Bible, God saw how evil men were and
how there was nothing but immorality in mans heart. The depravity and iniquity of man are what led
to God and Zeus s wrath. Men became lawless, it was as if every man was for themselves. This
corruption is what made God and Zeus to become weary and to regret ever creating man. But as the
world became wickeder and wickeder every day he began to grow weary of ... Show more content on

Macro Sociology
Sociologists analyze different levels of society from various perspectives. Due to Micro and Macro
sociology we can look at the world from a smaller and larger scope. We zoom in on ourselves and then
place the focus in broader context. Theories are like cameras there is such a wide collection with so
many filters based on our preferences, which is why we should consider them all. Sociology has
manifested itself into three distinct forms those being conflict, structural functionalist, and
interactionist theories. For any beginner student it is easier to regard the function of these theories
behaving like a tricycle. We need to include them all in order to move forward with our overall
understanding of societal development. Karl Marx, one of the most studied sociologists (at least in
high school), coined the idea of conflict theory. This concept specifically considered the economic
aspects of society. It contradicted August Comte s previous century ideas of natural laws to social
sciences. Marx believed that social change is fueled by the economy. He wrote the Communist
Manifesto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Society works like that of an organism. Herbert Spencer theorized that each person provides a role to
its survival. His views are clearly different compared to conflict theory since he examined the stability
and interrelated parts of society. Spencer defined the main organs as social institutions that prioritized
certain needs such as education, healthcare, religion, and government. This can be studied on a local
or nationally known level. Emile Durkheim, Alfred Radcliffe Brown, and Robert Merton furthered
their study of functioning continuity in society. All parts of society essentially the laws and policies
must work together to preserve a dynamic equilibrium. Dysfunctions reduce solidity which makes
critics assume that structural functionalism cannot measure social change

Short Opera Die Fledermaus
On Sunday December 6th I attended a performance of a concert version of the operetta, which is a
short opera, usually on a light or humorous theme and typically having spoken dialogue, Die
Fledermaus which translates to The Bat and was originally composed by Johan Strauss II, by the
Brooklyn College Opera Theater, accompanied by the conservatory orchestra. The performance took
place in Whitman theater, and the small audience seemed mostly to be relatives of the performers. The
operetta had 3 acts, and the operetta also included classical solos from some of the members of the
Conservatory singers. One of the main characters Eisenstein has tot go to jail because he insulted a

  • 2. Hydrogen Batteries And Fuel Cells Introduction Batteries/Fuel Cells Fuel cells operate via a chemical reaction which generates electricity. All fuel cells contain a positive anode, a negative cathode and an electrolyte to carry the charged particles through the cell. They also contain a catalyst which will increase the rate of the reaction occurring. The electricity produced can then used to power various appliances. This, in turn, creates a circuit with the current continually flowing in and out of the cell until the reaction ceases . Recently the development metal air batteries (which can be produced from a range of metals from Aluminium to Zinc Primary and Secondary Batteries) have become very important. They are used to power electric vehicles and other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This coupled with the fact that there is no shortage of Magnesium on the planet means that the resources, although finite, are unlikely to run out and so Magnesium is an ideal material to use. Also the properties of the metal, such as reactivity, toxicity etc are ideal for this applicationi. Materials Involved in the production of Magnesium Air Batteries Anode As mentioned previously the anode is composed of Magnesium metal (atomic weight 24.312 ) and is oxidised to produce electrons. The reason this metal is used because it is lightweight, cheap and has a high standard potential. These fuel cells are also generally very durable and can be easily stored. Easy storage is made possible by the fact that a protective film is naturally produced over the positive anode. However this decreases once some of the energy has been released from the cell. Hence it is not ideal to be used in a situation where over a long period of time there are times when the cell is not being used. This is part of the reason why lithium batteries are ... Australia has one of the most diverse cultures concentrated in a small region, this is due to many factors, such as wars. The first generation of the ethinic groups have most likely fled their home land to Australia for safety, oppurtunity or resources. During the Vietnam war, many civilians have migrated around the world, including Australia. Before the war, Vietnamese and other non european migrants found it incredibly hard to gain permission to migrate to Australia due to the White Austrlia policy. Many of the Iraq culture originated as refugees from the Iraq first gulf war. Similar situation to the Vietnam war, Australia had obligation to take in refugees. Many other wars, such as the Mayalsian, Korean, Japenese, Chinese boxer rebellion and South African, happening prior to the Vietnam war has attracted refugees, not many came due to the White Australian policy and the fact that the Orderly Departure program did not influence the refugees, which is why there is a lower percentage of these cultures (excluding the Chinese due to their migration after the Vietnam War). Finally, the Aboriginal culture has been dwindled, where certain clans have died out. This is mainly due to the White Australian Policy and the Stolen Generation. But it is the first colonial wars that drove the Indigeneous population to near extinction . Because the Indigeneous did not own the land (terra nulius) the Britains saw it as a chance to take over the new land and its resources. This caused a violent outbreak of many turf wars , ultimately leading to Aboriginals succumbing to the Britains and forced to stop fighting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is true because reproduction does not give the audience a private feeling towards the work of art since it is not the real thing, it is only a reproduction. A whole new perception of art is introduced to us, but at the same time, it also gives a whole new meaning of the art and a mode of distraction to the audience. The aura of arts in the mechanical world, as Walter said, has been moved into a mythological space and into the cult of genius. Moving on to the similarities between his article and the movie Shadow Magic that has been directed by Ann Hu. • 8. Wit Movie Analysis Wit is a movie based on the point of view of an english professor, Dr. Vivian Bearing. She is awakened by the news that she has stage four ovarian cancer and agrees to immediately undergo treatment. While she struggles through rigorous chemotherapy and her final stages of ovarian cancer, the movie focuses on Bearing s reflections and flashbacks, as well as her interactions with her primary care providers. Bearing is an outstanding, hardworking and established educator, yet she has devoted her life to researching, understanding, and teaching so much that she has come under the impression of being a lonely and isolated individual. She keeps a distance between herself and those around her. For example, Professor Ashford, Bearing s mentor, once advised her to use her intelligence, avoid the library, and go out and enjoy herself with friends, yet she did the complete opposite (Woodward, J.M., 2001). This just proves that she internalizes herself. Not to mention, it is essential that patients have a support group, especially family, because it will help patients cope with stress and give them comfort, structure and dependency so that they are not alone (Caplan, 2017). Alternatively, Bearing rejects having support as she expresses: I am not in isolation because I have cancer, because I have a tumor the size of a grapefruit. No. I am in isolation because I am being treated for cancer (Edson, 1999). Since her cancer treatments imperiled her health, she is more susceptible to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women in this time were becoming wealthier because of large dowries and increasingly being named in wills of family members, contributing to the movable wealth. • 14. Masculinity Of Clytemnestra In this paper, I will discuss the different ways Clytemnestra isn t your typical female character. In most of Greek mythology women were mostly seen as passive, weak, and constantly taking orders from men. She was the complete opposite, she was really a one of a kind. More masculine than some of the men in the stories, and definitely more masculine than feminine she was a very strong, solid, independent, powerful character throughout Agamemnon. The story definitely wouldn t be as controversial as it was if it weren t for the boldness, extremely deceptive tactics, manipulative ways, and ruthless acts of Clytemnestra. She constantly defied the role that was given to women in the art of ancient Greece, she paved the way for powerful women characters for the future. The story of Agamemnon was really a prime example of the masculinity of Clytemnestra. From the point in the story where Agamemnon has to sacrifice his beloved daughter in order to save the people of his empire and go to war, you could tell that did not sit well with her. I mean it must be the worst thing in the world to have to sacrifice a child of your own, something that a king had to do. It makes you think of how great of a king he was to have the balls to do so, but that decision that he made it stuck with Clytemnestra. It drove her into madness, and ruthless behavior. However, this rhyme holds a belief in it that is not true. When children are taught that Columbus set sail in 1492, they are also taught that when he did so he discovered America. This is truly and utterly false. If Columbus Day is no longer named as such, the Native Americans will be celebrated and a minority group will be represented rather than a murder. By seeing that Columbus did not discover America, Columbus was a murder, and the holiday Celebrated based on a common misconception, Columbus Day can become a more enjoyable holiday for everyone. Many children and adults believe still believe that Columbus discovered America. Contrary to common belief, Columbus did not discover America and he never set out to prove the world was round. In Columbus s time, the fact that the earth was round was common knowledge. Race, Culture, Income Level, Education, And Class In every society there is stratification, which is basically a ranking system constructed upon features involving gender, race, culture, income level, education, and class. Each of these factors fall under the status of either Ascribed or Achieved. Ascribed status is something that people are born with and is centered on characteristics that a person can t control like gender, race, and culture. Achieved status is earned or chosen and is based on characteristics that a person can control such as income level, education, and class. When looking at Ascribed stratification, the characteristic that appears to have the greatest effect on a person s status is race. When someone thinks of a wealthy, high class American, an African American is not typically what pops into their head. This is because African Americans are a minority, making up around 13% of America s population. African Americans are also seen at a lesser status because of stereotypes. Labels like criminal, poor, and unintelligent are put on African Americans which automatically downgrades them. On the other hand, an example of an ascribed stratification that would automatically put someone at the top of the totem pole in a society would be being born into royalty or a wealthy family because people do not pick and control the family they are born into. Ascribed status s also play a big role in India, especially because this is where the caste system was created which was based on heredity. In these caste systems ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The renaissance in europe was a time of rethinking and rebirth of old and new ideas. Over the course of time there have been many who will argue that Ophelia has been used by many of the male character throughout the novel. An executive order can also be categorized under executive directives, and executive proclamation. (1) Though many may think of an executive order as an alternative term for a presidential proclamation , it is not. Presidential proclamations are strictly reserved for public policy and for ceremonial purposes, such as the declaration of a day for remembrance, etc. Executive orders find their roots from not only the U.S. Constitution, but Congress as well. Though it s powers are derived from outside of the executive branch, executive orders do not require any sort of approval whatsoever, and the president can utilize these orders to set up policy and rules while ultimately negating any thought of public opposition. Furthermore, executive orders have the ability to be applied to a wide range of activities and categories, and in the past they have; from implementing internment camps during WWII, sending U.S. troops abroad, to ideals such as increasing the area of national forests. • 31. The Constitutional Basis Of Personal Jurisdiction Jurisdiction Personal jurisdiction refers to the ability of a court to exercise its power over a particular defendant or item of property. Personal jurisdiction may be categorized as in personam, in rem, or quasi in rem. The primary restraints on a court s power to exercise personal jurisdiction are found in the United States Constitution, state statutes, and case law. The Constitutional basis for personal jurisdiction comes from the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. The statutory basis comes from most states adopting what is called a long arm statute that states the limits of personal jurisdiction that a state has over the defendant. Most long arm statutes, including CA, state that their personal jurisdiction may be exercised up to the limits of the constitution. There are two types of personal jurisdiction: specific jurisdiction and general jurisdiction. The findings of Doyle et al. were as predicted. The three complexity measures were higher in firms that reported material weaknesses in comparison to the 2003 Compustat firms, who did not report any material weaknesses. That s why so many people are concerned about whether or not they can keep working while in drug rehab. Thankfully, the answer is mostly positive, though maintaining that balance may be a challenge. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thankfully, that is no longer possible thanks to The Americans With Disabilities Act. This law classified drug addiction as a disability and helped protect people from being discriminated against due to their addiction. As a result, you are protected from being fired if your employer finds out you are in recovery solely for the reason of your addiction. However, if your performance had declined or you had been disciplined in the past, you may still be fired on those grounds. However, if you have no record of problems, your boss cannot fire you simply because you have an addiction. With that in mind, it is important to remember that people who are actively using drugs are not protected by the ADA, because their drug use and behavior may actually put the people they work with at risk. So that s why it s especially crucial for you to get into rehab: it can actually help save your career, not end it. Staying In Touch Online The great thing about many inpatient rehab centers is that an increasing number of them are now allowing electronic and Internet access for their residents. As a result, you may be able to set something up with work that allows you to work remotely while in recovery. For this report I will be looking into conduction a critique piece examining the ideas, theories and techniques specifically looking into the purpose application and limitation or the service concept, Servqual model and understanding customer types. The Service Concept Application The service concept can simply be broken down into three different stages which is firstly the organising idea this is basically when the service is used or bought by the consumer. The next being the service provided, this is the process in which affects the way their service provider ends up interacting with their customer base. Last but not least is the service received, now the service received is the end result of the customers overall experience in particular the emotions that they then feel towards this posing the question if they were satisfied with the service provide and lastly was it good value for the money that they ended up paying for it. (Johnston Clark 2008) A brilliant example of the service concept would be to look at Alton towers concept which is very good, the organising idea is quite a basic concept which involves having a great day out at the theme park with over 100 rides for families and amusement park goers and thrill seekers leaving them with a vast array of options to choose from. The service provided is free car parking, helpful staff, huge amount off customer toilets, Clean Park, and generally well run amusement park. With that being said this is what the customer is ... IPC knew it had to add bread plants; the only question was where. Working with C.H. Shintoism and Buddhism intertwine and complement themselves in Japanese culture, despite Buddhism coming in from mainland Asia. This idea that nothing stays the same forever manifests itself heavily in Japanese literature, whether in personal writings or fictional works. Despite spanning hundreds of years, each work was shaped by and include manifestations of mono no aware. I intend to underline and pinpoint instances that mono no aware is influencing these works, and discuss similarities and differences between them. In this paper, I have three works that I will explore, each one corresponding to a different time period before the pre industrial revolution; The Diary of Lady Murasaki comes from the classical period, Essays in Idleness from the medieval, and the immensely popular play Chushingura from the pre modern era. Kenko, the Buddhist monk and author of Essays in Idleness, took great satisfaction in the idea of impermanence. A hefty amount of this work deals with Kenko talking about Buddhist values and the beauty of change. Noah and Deucalion were two highly honorable men. These men and their families were the only two men out of thousands to survive a fate that changed mankind forever. Noah was a man from Babylon who feared God and found favor in His sight. Deucalion was a man from Greece who pleased the gods and was able to stay pure in his heart. A commonality in both stories is that mankind harbored evil in their hearts and had no regard for God/Zeus provoking their wraths. According to the Grecian flood story, men became unbearably wicked and no longer lived at peace with each other. They were always at war with each other having no law or safety in the land. We zoom in on ourselves and then place the focus in broader context. Theories are like cameras there is such a wide collection with so many filters based on our preferences, which is why we should consider them all. Sociology has manifested itself into three distinct forms those being conflict, structural functionalist, and interactionist theories. For any beginner student it is easier to regard the function of these theories behaving like a tricycle. We need to include them all in order to move forward with our overall understanding of societal development. Karl Marx, one of the most studied sociologists (at least in high school), coined the idea of conflict theory. This concept specifically considered the economic aspects of society.
