Female Roles In Crime And Punishment Essay
Female roles In Crime And Punishment Love resurrected them; the heart of one contained infinite
sources of life for the heart of the other (Dostoyevsky 521). Crime And Punishment is a novel about
one man, Raskolnikov; this novel follows his life after committing a terrible crime, murder. This novel
shows the mental and physical affects that play on his body after committing such a crime. In the
novel Crime And Punishment, Dostoyevsky uses Alyona, Sonia and to drive the plot of the novel. In
the beginning, the first female character you see is Alyona, an elderly pawnbroker. Alyona is the
reason for the murder and the brutality that was put into the murder. Alyona is murdered because she
cheats others less fortunate than her; she also abuses poor and helpless Lizaveta. This can been seen
when Raskolnikov hears the student say that She was a complete slave and went in fear and trembling
of her sister, who made her work day and night, and even beat her (Dostoyevsky 61). Also by using an
weak elderly women being killed, one feels sympathy towards Alyona making us wonder if
Raskilnokov killed her for the good of others or if he just wanted to be cruel.

Doina s multiple relationships with people including, Luzhin and Svidrigaïlov make subplots for the
novel and they also help Raskolnikov in deciding to murder the pawnbroker. She gets into a
relationship with Svidrigaïlov because she belives that he can save him, although this relationship
fails. Luzhin comes around and she gets into in a relationship with him to get out of poverty, while this
relationship almost ends in marriage but sadly it ends. One can see that Doina really doesn t care about
Luzhin, after he says, I can t just go and get married for the sake of the future (Dostoyevsky 344).
After these failed relationships, she meets the true love of her life

Essay On Online Shopping
Introduction
Online shopping or online retailing is a form of electronic commerce whereby consumers directly buy
goods or services from a seller over the Internet without an intermediary service. An online shop,
eshop, e store, Internet shop, webshop, webstore, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical
analogy of buying products or services at a bricks and mortar retailer or shopping centre
As we know that online shopping is the easy way shopping but also there are certain advantages as
well as disadvantages. To overcome the technological challenges as well as global challenges most of
the business organizations are running towards ecommerce or e business.

3. Conclusion/ Recommendation
Based on the project leading individuals to reallocate their time and money resources, this study
examined the time and cost attributes of shopping modes, and explored the tradeoff between these two
attributes, i.e., the value of time, by assuming that consumers were faced with a shopping mode choice
between physical store shopping and e shopping. The final estimated value of time include two types:
the value of travel time to shopping places, physical stores as far as this study concerned, and the
value of waiting time for the delivery of purchased products.
Of course consumers concern toward e shopping is not only about time and cost. Some psychological
aspects, such as information uncertainty and transaction security, have been playing an important role
in dominating consumers e shopping behavior, and have been even more widely discussed in the
literature. However, ecommerce continues to advance, in speed and security in particular, it is
generally believed that online information will be to a great extent improving both in quantity and
quality in the near future. By that time, consumers negative perceptions towards e shopping, such as
information uncertainty and transaction security, may fade away. If this is going to be true, then
consumers psychological concern over e shopping may gradually be disappearing in the future.
On the other hand, the economic concern over the travel problem; i.e.,

Similarities Between Dark Ages And The Dark Ages
Classical Vs the Dark Ages If you were to compare how relations between city states were during the
dark ages of Greece to the classical era of Greece. You would come along a lot of differences and
some similarities that might shock you, they sure did me. You can find differences and similarities in
many aspects of their civilization: politics, culture, warfare, and economics. The dark ages of Greece
lacked writing so a lot of what we know is indirect. Such as Achilles Anger excerpt from the Iliad
gives a pretty good in depth look at the dark ages. While the The Melian Dialogue gives a great insight
into the Classical period. Both articles are crucial to such wealthy understanding of these times.
Although Classical Greeks were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Let s compare the warfare of both periods, in the dark ages the Trojan war took place, the reason we
know that this possibly happened is from the epics that Homer wrote such as the Iliad. In the Iliad, you
have Achilles Anger which followed a Greek hero Achilles. He was a role model to all Greek soldiers
at the time so we can only assume many soldiers shared the inclinations towards war (spoils, glory,
honor), soldier s perspective on the king (unjustly laying claim to larger amounts of spoils of war), and
camaraderie among soldiers (Achilles reaction to the death of his friend). This is a very personal point
of view on the soldiers that fought that war. We can only assume that much of the wars fought were
chaos, and fought one on one with small major fights throughout. Then we have the The Melian
Dialogue, which was written during the classical period of Greece about Athenian and the Melians. In
short, the Athenians were encroaching on the island of Melos, a colony of Lacedaemon that would not
submit to Athens like other island states. The Melians refuse to give up their freedom for the sake of
survival, Athenians lay siege on the island and eventually forced surrender. Then Athenians killed all
the grown men, sold off the women and children to slavery, and colonized the island with 500

What Is A Important Lesson Essay
Lessons, They re many of them that we need to and can learn about in life even if they seem pointless.
Well I learned a very important lesson back when I was young I think it s still very important to this
day. I m in 4th grade and I was still young and didn t know a lot of things during that time and also
thought like most kids that school was miserable and just wanted to get through the whole day. It s
about time to go when our teacher announces that we are going to be learning about bicycle safety
tomorrow and if we have our own bicycle we can bring it. My head perked up and I was paying a little
attention to what she was saying and it sounded a little interesting to me but there was a problem with
this. I had my own bicycle but the only thing is I didn t know how to ride it well more like I didn t
know how to keep my self balanced. Since I didn t know how to keep myself balanced on a bike I
decided that I wouldn t bring a bicycle and just walk through the lesson but I had a heavy feeling in

were trying for about 1 hour and 30 minutes and my legs were like slosh from slamming my them

that we should continue. A couple of tries later I decided to just go down the slope one last time and
saying in my head I can do it I began to fall one way but then began to slope up and there I was
balanced instead of flopped over on the ground. I had a warm little tingle in my chest knowing that I
had accomplished something big for myself but still needed to do this while peddling. I continued to

Eliot s Influences On Literature
Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot s Influences On Literature The nineteenth and twentieth century
were pivotal times in the world of literature. Many new elements of writing and style were evolving
and authors all over the world were finding ways to present what they felt most passionate about.
Some writers opened their readers up to newer ideas by the means of, as Ezra Pound once stated,
making it new. Two writers in particular who did a fantastic job of this were Frederick Douglass and
T.S. Eliot. Frederick Douglass s most popular work is his autobiography, The Narrative of the Life of
Frederick Douglass. In this story, Douglass makes romanticism new. On the contrast, T.S. Elliot is
widely known for his poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, in which he makes new of imagery.
While Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot come from completely different backgrounds and write with
different styles, they share a few commonalities as well as both being influences on literary society.
Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County, Maryland around the supposed year of
1818. Like many other slaves, his exact date of birth remains unknown. Douglass was an abolitionist
for slavery as well as a supporter for women s rights. Due to his works and accomplishments, it is
obvious that Douglass was a major contributor to the literary tradition of American Romanticism.
After escaping slavery, Frederick Douglass wrote his most famous autobiography, The Narrative of
the Life of

Basic Principles Of The Polymerase Chain Reaction ( PCR )
a. Describe the basic principles of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
PCR is biochemical research technique developed in 1985 by Kary Mullins. It is based on the
principle of amplifying DNA through a series of cycling reactions with varying temperatures. PCR
uses the ability of thermostable polymerase enzymes to synthesize a new complementary DNA strand
to a template strand.
b. What are the essential components of a PCR reaction?
The essential components of PCR reactions are:
i. Taq polymerase: A thermostable DNA polymerase isolated from the bacterium Thermus aquaticus
that survives at 750C. ii. DNA primers: Approximately 20 nucleotides in length that are specific to a
DNA region of interest. They are complementary in sequence to the ends of the target DNA. Primer is
chosen based on what part of DNA needs to be copied or amplified. iii. Sample DNA: Containing
target DNA iv. Nucleotides: dNTPs or deoxynucleotide triphosphates are single units of bases of A, T,
G and C.
v. PCR Buffer: Contains Tris HCL, KCL, and MgCl2. Buffer helps to create optimal conditions for the
activity of Taq DNA polymerase.
c. What is the name of the instrument typically used for PCR? Describe its operations and how it is
useful for performing PCR reactions.
PCR reaction is typically performed in a thermocycler also called as a PCR machine or DNA
amplifier.
Thermocycler operation and PCR process:
Thermocycler consist of a thermal block with holes to fit tubes in which the PCR reaction

Reevaluating Opposites
Reevaluating Opposites Whether we believe it or not, many things are connected in some way. Even if
some things take a while to notice, we still have that eureka moment whenever we gather information
that correlates with something we learned in the past. While reading a work of writing, the goal is to
reach the end and fully understand what was just read. It is not likely for one to focus on comparing
that piece to anything from a prior situation. It can be found that upon trying, more similarities are
found than not. This is demonstrated when writers have the same overall tone for their pieces. Is

Gospel Of John 2 Analysis
The purpose of the Gospel of John is clearly stated in verse 20:31: But these are written that you may
believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
The fourth Gospel needs to be read with that in mind, that each aspect is included to prove the divinity
of Jesus Christ. The second chapter of the Gospel of John tells of two distinct accounts; the first,
turning water into wine. The second; clearing the temple. Each of these accounts serve John s purpose
as stated in 20:31. John 2:1 11 tells of the wedding in Cana. In attendance was Jesus, his mother,
Mary, and His disciples. At some point during the festivities they ran out of wine. This was a serious
offense in Jewish culture. Running out of wine would have been humiliating and would follow the
bridge and groom for the remainder of their lives. As hosts, the family had a social obligation to
provide the drink. When Mary approaches her son and informs Him of this, Woman, why do you
involve me? Jesus replied. My hour has not yet come (2:4). The term woman here is not intended
condescendingly, but a term of respect. By referring to her as woman instead of mother He is

Monsters Are All Around Us
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, a monster is defined as a powerful person or thing that
cannot be controlled and that causes many problems. Monsters are all around us. They re the borders
of all possible and crossing the boundary can create trouble and possibly even making you become a
monster. Without having monsters in place, humans would not worry about trying things that they
shouldn t such as killing or stealing. However, since humans fear the unknown and the idea of doing
something bad can lead you to become monster, monsters control the border. Therefore, monsters
were created to secure our thoughts of the unknown and make sure we don t go overboard.
To begin, monsters are created during a cultural moment such as a time, feeling, and a place (Cohen,
4). Monsters can be in our house, within us and even in our schools. They symbolize fear, desire,
anxiety and fantasy, therefore, giving them life and unlimited access to independence (Cohen,
4).Therefore, monsters can be something we make up in our mind because we don t want to face in
reality or be something that is actually real in life such as a killer. For example, in the film Pan s
Labyrinth, Ofelia, creates this imagination to escape the horror that she faces in her new home. Even
in the story of Alice in Wonderland, Alice escapes her reality because she doesn t feel satisfied, and
also creates an imagination of a wonderland that would be better in reality. Alice and Ofelia were

The Veldt, By Ray Bradbury
When walking through a college campus in 2016, a person can see how much technology consumes a
peoples life. One can see people texting on their phones, riding on hover boards, and using iPads to
order food at a restaurant. What used to be inconceivable in the 1950s is now the norm 66 years later
The science fiction short story The Veldt, by Ray Bradbury, was written in the 1950s, yet gives the
reader perspective on the dangers of advancing technology as a prophecy of our future. In The Veldt,
the two parents, Lydia and George, are affluent and spoil their children, Peter and Wendy with
technology, which ultimately leads to the parents death. Using Lois Tyson s critical theory of

Juxtaposition In The Moth
The moth s insignificant being is described through Wolf s usage of juxtaposition and personification.
She begins by mentioning the moth s value and inducts its surroundings. watching him, it seemed as if
a fibre, very thin but pure, of the enormous energy of the world had been thrust into his frail body and
diminutive body (2).The use of juxtaposition compares how little the moth is to his surroundings. The
energy is depicted as thin yet enormous and when thrusted into the moth s body it differentiate the
difference between the two. The contrast idea about the energy hints the size of the moth and further
supporting the idea that the moth is a paltry being. The moth s nature is also describe through

Under the ACA for individuals, they are able to select their health care coverage either through their
employer, through the government, by finding a plan on their own, or have no insurance coverage at
all and face the tax penalty, year after year that the taxpayer goes without coverage. There are actually
ways that the individual can benefit from when filing their taxes. An option for selecting health care
coverage is through the government s website exchange, this is referenced to the Premium tax credit.
Under this credit as defined in 26 C.F.R. § 1.36B 1 , individuals are able to select their own health care
coverage with the plans being labeled as on silver, bronze, gold, or platinum plans, and gives the
taxpayer a refund on the premium amount. If a taxpayer plans on selecting one of these, the
government will give you a tax break if your income places you under the 400% of the poverty level
(Obamacare, 2015). Under ACA, employers are now faced with a challenge of their own, if they have
50 or more employees they are now required to offer healthcare coverage to their full time employees,
and if they do not they will be faced to pay a tax penalty. With smaller employers they would be
offered a tax break on offering their employees coverage through the government marketplace.
Another way that the ACA changed the tax on other companies is

Four Period School Day Controversy
After a schedule change, students and teachers have been having controversy about a four period and
eight period school day. After two years of the new schedule, although calmed down somewhat, the
controversy continues. An eight period school day (traditional schedule) seems to be far outweighed
by a four period school day (block schedule). A four period school day provides academic,
educational, and emotional benefits when compared to an eight period school day. A typical eight
period school day would have eight forty seven minute long classes with a thirty minute lunch and
five minutes between each class period, lasting the whole school year (7). A typical four period school
day would have four ninety two minute long classes with a thirty minute lunch and seven minutes
between each class period (7). The first four classes go from the middle of August to around the
middle of January, then the next four go from the middle of January to the end of May. At Preston
High School students and teachers were surveyed on stress levels from each schedule. They were also
surveyed on which schedule they thought was more effective for learning. A consensus between all of
the students and teachers agreed that the block schedule was more effective for learning (8). They also
all agreed that an eight period day proved significantly more stressful when compared to their amount
of stress in a four period day (8). A block schedule is very beneficial if it is properly implemented.

Mrs Sommers Symbolism
Mrs. Sommers life was different of what it is now than what it was before she got married. During this
century, women who had jobs had to quit after they married because when they got home, their job
was to be responsible for everything in the home and eventually their children s needs as well. There
are several symbols that contrast how Mrs. Sommers life was and one of those is symbolism.
Symbolism for Mrs. Sommers is the symbol of her life before marriage and having kids, she probably
had a job when she was younger, but had to quit when she had gotten married. In her life, Sommers
was a hard working woman with a job providing for herself and any family, but when she married had

she goes shopping for clothing material and tries having a good time before returning home, like

piece of happiness for herself that she can enjoy at home. Sommers life was wonderful and free before
marriage because she was living an independent life, but then she had to give up on having that life
after she married and had a family to support, staying home, not working outside of the home, and
tending to her husband, children, and the home where she is denied the comforts of getting a job and

Mbuti Pygmies Research Paper
Very simply, depth perception, is the ability to see things in three dimensions and to perceive how near
or far away people and objects are. One way humans perceive depth is by having eyes that are spaced
a little bit apart, this is contrary to certain animals that tend to be prey, and have evolved so that their
eyes are on either side of their head to enable them to spot predators. Predator animals, on the other
hand, usually have eyes positioned closely together, like humans, to enable them to spot, chase, and
swoop down upon prey. The basis for depth perception is founded around the brains usage of both
monocular and binocular cues. Monocular cues are used when looking at objects with one eye closed,

Turnbull and Kenge stumbled across an interesting observation. Kenge was unable to grasp the
concept of depth perception beyond approximately one hundred feet. While standing in an opening at
the edge of the forest, Kenge did not understand what the mountains in the distant foreground were.
Not only did Kenge experience a lack of adaptation to a primary sensory complex, his culture did not
provide for adequate language skills to describe the thought processes going through his mind when
standing up close to the mountains. Later while visiting the mountains Dr. Turnbull and Kenge
observed a herd of bison in the far off distance, Kenge was unaware the type of insects he was

were much larger than the ones Kenge had been exposed to throughout his life. This was pure
nonsense in Kenge s eyes, he would later have issues understanding the same concept with a boat.
Only after repeated expose to such instances did Kenge start to process the cues of depth perception
and question his limited senses that had developed throughout his early

practice with drink wherever he went! Despite his reputation, Angus has had many challenges to deal
with in life, which clearly led to his drinking and failures. One of the main challenges he has been
presented with is an arm injury, which is what prevented him from doing his work as a doctor. At the

we see the outcome of Murray s unconscious life quest for happiness. He rises to the needs of the
injured people and even does a very precise surgery on Penny Wain s eye. Angus overcomes his self
doubt and pity and realizes that he has real potential, his confidence in himself and quest for happiness
is fulfilled when realizing he is capable of helping the people after the explosion. Roddie Wain, Penny

Alcohol Abuse And Alcohol Use Disorder
A brief history of alcohol and its use, alcohol has been around since the birth of man. Alcohol has been
used for medical reasons, as well as recreational use. As far as historians can tell, the abuse of Alcohol
had been around just as long. But people haven t considered it some type of disorder until the 19th
century. In 1819, German Doctor C. W. Hufeland coined the term Dipsomania. Dipsomania was the
uncontrollable craving for alcohol. In 1849, Dipsomania became known as Alcoholism. In the 1920 s,
Alcoholism was so bad and out of controll, that America had a Prohibition Period in which alcohol
was illegal. In the DSM IV, there were two different and distinct disorders (or subtypes) involving
alcohol. Both of these disorders (or subtypes) had their own criteria. They were Alcohol Abuse
Disorder, and Alcohol Dependence Disorder. The DSM V merge the two together and as a result, it is
now called Alcohol Use Disorder. An interesting fact, under the new DSM V criteria, as much as 31%
of college students may meet the criteria of Alcohol Use Disorder.
AUD (Alcohol Use Disorder) has 3 sub classifications: Mild, Moderate, and Severe. Mild AUD is the
presence of 2 3 criteria met. Moderate AUD is the presence of 4 5 criterial met. Severe is the presence

possible for my peers to adopt some of the habits regularly practiced by the Blue Zoners. On the right
side of the world, there is a Blue Zone in Sardinia, Italy called the Nuoro province. Here, the
Sardinians consume a type of cheese made from grass fed animals so the cheese is high in Omega 3

Like Italy, the people of Okinawa have a very specific and focused diet. They prevent themselves from
overeating by eating off of smaller plates, so they tend to eat fewer calories at every sitting (8:30
8:40). This habit is possible in Stafford if families began serving food at counters instead of at the
dinner table, and not going back for seconds. Obesity and overeating are large problems in America,
so a good way to fight it is by starting in small communities like Stafford. Apart from the way the
Okinawans eat, the way the elderly live at the time of their retirement is important. They use the word
ikigai as opposed to retirement, which means the reason for which you wake up in the morning (10:25
10:40). In other words, ikigai refers to one s sense of purpose. This habit is beneficial because it
allows them to have something to look forward to everyday. To continue this habit in Stafford, the
people in the community should be taught the meaning of the word and be reminded that by just
looking forward each day, about seven years could be added to their life.

The Classic Inferno By Dante Alighieri
The classic Inferno by Dante Alighieri is beautifully woven to reflect the realities or unrealities of the
time. The various circles of hell are used by the writer to tell the tale in a free flowing manner (Havely,
98). Interesting, however, is the manner in which he describes the characters such that they are seen to
be facing tragedies in their life in hell. The writer categorizes the different types of sins that people
can commit and subjects the characters to various punishments, each of which is in a separate circle in
hell. Lawall opines that the writer uses a style that makes the reader envision themselves in the poem
(Lawall, 17). In so doing, the writer subjects the characters to relatively tragic states even though they

The story narrates that Francesca and Paolo are both punished in hell for their adultery and thus the
subjection to the circle of lust (Alighieri, 1012). She expounds that she had been married to Paolo s
brother Gianciotto. Francesca discloses that she was not shy of expressing her feelings towards Paolo,
who she loved even though she was married to his brother. One day, she reveals, her husband caught
them together inside her bedroom and was sure that they were lovers. Francesca opened the door and
pretended that all was well before her husband. Unknown to Francesca, Paolo had got stuck in a
ladder as he attempted to run away. Gianciotto then killed the two of them, although he had not
intended to kill his wife. The circumstance that led to her death is an emphasis of the beauty of love.
When Gianciotto jumped to slay Paolo with his sword, Francesca rushed in between and faced the
death first. The husband was too disappointed and ended up killing Paolo as well. The portrayal of the
two characters as lovebirds and the lack of love between Francesca and her husband show the reality
that was then (Alighieri, 1013). The writer further says, through Francesca, that Gianciotto was
thrown into the circle of Caina for killing his family members. This assertion, in character is a
balanced move to portray both parties (Francesca and Gianciotto) as losers in the fight. However, the
fact that

Recrystallization Lab Report
The solid organic compounds that we use in reactions or that come from natural sources tend to have
impurities. One way for us to remove these impurities and obtain our desired product is by using a
technique called recrystallization. Our goal in this experiment is to prove that recrystallization is a
method to purify a solid organic compound with contaminants. In Part A we will purify acetanilide by
recrystallization and in Part B we will distinguish the best way to select the solvent required to
recrystallize the solute. Removing the solid impurities of an organic compound involves a series of
steps. The first step is to dissolve the solid in the minimum amount of the appropriate hot solvent.
Crystallization takes advantage of the fact that most solids are more soluble in a hot than in a cold
solvent. We need a solute that is soluble in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, if a solid is first dissolved in an amount of hot solvent that does not dissolve it when cold,
crystals should form when the hot solution is allowed to cool. The second step is using hot vacuum
filtration, which removes the insoluble impurities from the hot mixture. The acetanilide given to us
had two impurities, one soluble and one insoluble in the hot water. The insoluble impurity can be
removed after the acetanilide is dissolved in the hot solvent and filtered. Most of the solvent may be
evaporated from the crystals as the vacuum pulls the air through the crystals on the funnel, but the
acetanilide will still contain the more soluble impurity. It is important to let the solution cool slowly in
order for the molecules to line up in an organized way and form the crystals. We also need to make
sure that the filter flask in clamped and that we use the appropriate tubes for the vacuum as well as the
appropriate sized filter paper. After letting the solution cool, we begin the process of recrystallization
in order to remove the soluble impurity.

How Testing Can Improve Quality Of The Software
Introduction
This report is going to explain my opinion on how testing software has the ability to significantly
improve the quality. I have read certain books that give different reasons for the purpose of testing and
how well it actually improves the software, and will reference these as I use them throughout the
report. Firstly my opinion on testing is that from experience, I have found testing to help greatly
towards improving the quality of the software as it basically breaks down the frame and structure of
the software which allows you to see every single line of code in detail and gives you a different
perspective so that you can decide what you can do exactly in order to improve the quality. Software
Quality is something everyone wants. Managers know that they want high quality, software
developers know they want to produce a quality product, and users insist that software work
consistently and be reliable. (William E. Lewis, 2004)
The principles of testing
The first principle of testing is that it allows the user to see defects in the software in the event that
there are any along the lines of syntax errors or if the programmer has left out a semi colon. Testing
always reduces the number of undiscovered defects remaining in the software but even if no defects
are found, it is not a proof of correctness. (ISTQB Exam Certification) Another one would be the fact
that it would be impossible to test every single combination of inputs therefore managing the risks and

Understanding the Marangoni Effect
To understand the Marangoni effect it is essential to understand Rayleigh Bénard instability. The
Rayleigh Bénard convection instability occurs in a plane horizontal layer of fluid heated from the
bottom. The fluid develops a regular pattern of convection cells known as Bénard cells. The
convection patterns are the most carefully examined example of self organizing nonlinear systems.
Gravity and hence Buoyancy, is the major driving force for the Rayleigh Bénard Marangoni
convection instability. The initial movement is the upwelling of lesser density fluid from the heated
bottom layer. This upwelling spontaneously organizes into a regular pattern of cells called Bénard
cells.
The dimensionless Rayleigh number (RaL), which essentially expresses the balance between gravity
and viscous forces is given by Where,
Tu is the Temperature of the top plate
Tb is the Temperature of the bottom plate
L is the height of the container.
g is the acceleration due to gravity.
ν is the kinematic viscosity.
α is the Thermal diffusivity
β is the Thermal expansion coefficient
The critical Rayleigh number (RC) is the threshold over which the convection cells appear. RC ~
1100.65 for a Marangoni set up with controlled boundary conditions.
Rayleigh Bénard convection experiments used fluids heated from below with a confining plate on the
top surface. In case of Bénard Marangoni convection arrangement, the top surface does not have a
confining plate and is free to move and deform.

After the remembrance of how he was undressed, the speaker describes how Aunt Frieda would

like seduction. To the narrator, Frieda undressing herself represented a time of health, independence
and youth, I try to imagine her healthy, undressing herself (12). The speaker then remembers how her
aunt s body looked naked. She was a petite girl whose body had flaws. Her marks represent the tough
times Frieda had growing up. The poem eludes that it was her inner beauty that stands out. It mentions
two seventeenth century artists, Rubens and Rembrandt, who have different styles of work. I
researched their work and found that Rubens is known for his very sensual and elegant work. In
contrast, Rembrandt portrayed tragedy especially in his old age. Aunt Frieda s life was not always
glorious, and she endured many tough times. whose scarred beauty Ruben would surely have missed,/

Music is a work of art filled with passion and emotion. John Kander did not let go of his love for
music ever since his childhood and that passion for the musical art and his dedication towards it is
what led him to a successful career in music industry. Though he worked as a conductor and choral

Family And Family Leave
Did you know that only 12 percent of the American, private sector workforce receives paid family
leave? (Hakobyn 2017). In 1993, the United States created the Family and Medical Leave Act
(FMLA), which allows a full time employee 12 weeks per year of unpaid, protected leave for a
medical illness of a family member, serious personal health conditions, the birth of a child, or the
adoption of a child. An employee is only eligible for the leave if they have worked at least 1,250 hours
over the course of 12 months and if their employer has fifty or more employees located within a 75
mile radius. The United States is one of three countries in the world to not offer mandated parental
leave.Within the United States, only California, Rhode Island, and New Jersey offer mandated paid
parental leave. While the FMLA has been beneficial, paid parental leave gives better benefits
economically to the mother and the business they work for, better health for the child, and mental
health benefits for the mother. Paid parental leave results in high economic benefits for the mother.
Studies find that paid maternity leave results in a higher chance of a woman coming back to work
after the birth of a child. According to a study co written by Mr. Ruhm of the University of Virginia,
mothers located in California that took leave were six percent more likely to return to their job a year
later (Miller 2015). Even if it isn t a significant percentage, the smallest amount could work to benefit

How Effective Was Opposition To The Nazi Regime Between...
How effective was opposition to the Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945?
Hitler s dictatorship of Germany reformed it into a totalisation state, which meant that the Nazi party
were the only party that held political importance and therefore other opposing parties were banned.
Opposition consisted of Germany s general public, Churches and religious followings, such as
Christian and Protestant, and anti Nazi groups. The control the Nazi party had in Germany made it
difficult for any opposition to be able to have an effect on the Nazi regime safely. That was because
anybody who tried to speak out against the regime and its policies or Hitler was arrested and sent to
concentration camps to be used as slaves of labour or executed, which is stated ... Show more content

Hitler was able to influence the media in Germany so assigned Nazi members to broadcast and report
to the public. But they would then only feed stories and news to the people about matters that showed
the Nazi regime in a positive and biased way to give the false pretence to the German people the
regime is effective and the best thing for the country to improve. Opposition however couldn t
compete with the broad scale that the Nazis were able to report on, so they lacked having the proper
resources to reach the public audience and to educate them on different political matters that would
allow them to be able to form and develop their own opinions. People also wouldn t take any physical
items that explained their views and opinions because if they were caught with anything that opposes
the Nazi party or regime they could be arrested and taken to a concentration camp. That meant that
they had to rely on reaching people verbally and being able to express themselves in a way that s
effective for people to be interested by and has an impact that it ll stay in their

The Importance Of Building A Strong Mailing List
When it comes to building an email list, you want to attract the right people who will become a part of
your loyal tribe. These people will be the ones who will buy from you first and spread the word about
what you have to offer. Knowing this, there are a few things you ll want to consider when you re
building your email list. Many business owners make these costly mistakes and you don t have to be
in that number. To build a strong mailing list, you ll want to avoid these seven common mistakes made
by so many businesses and brands.
1. Ineffective Incentives
It s really important to have a good incentive to get people to sign up for your emails. If there s one
thing people could afford to have less of, pointless emails make the list. ... Show more content on

If you have a lot of typos in your work, it s hard to read. Plus, it also communicates that you don t pay
attention to details, you re slightly illiterate and unprofessional. While none of these components may
be true, first impressions are lasting impressions. It s best to keep your brand in the clear by
incorporating the right messaging as well as polished syntax and grammar. Furthermore, if you have a
few links to other websites in your email, make sure those links work. It would be terrible to promote
an upcoming sale and send customers to a broken link. This can be an astronomical mistake for those
who lose patience and take their dollars elsewhere.
3. Monetization Strategies
Since dollars are now a part of the conversation, it s important to note how much monetization
strategies within an email list. Many internet marketers will preach that the money is in the list. This
means that once you send a monetized email out to a receptive list, you can easily make a lot of
money. It s equally important to deliver valuable information and incorporate solid monetization
strategies in every email. Monetization strategies include affiliate links and programs, promotions,
sales, coupons and new merchandise. One problem many business owners face involves timidity and
the concern that their monetization strategies will be perceived as desperate or needy. Don t be afraid
to promote these types of strategies because you re in business to become financially profitable and

Censorship Pros And Cons
Many people think censorship will benefit the society because it can remove the bad things from our
society. However, there are some censorships that did not bring any benefit, but damage to people in
the society. In Letter to the Editor of the Charleston Gazette a teacher asked to defend for his teaching
book; because the book involve with violence. Also, two novels that were written by Pat Conroy were
censored because they involve violence. In Stutterer Speaks Up in Class; His Professor Says Keep
Quiet a professor told a student with stutter not to speak in class; because she thinks the student with

thing from the society. For example, the government said that some drug are illegal to use, but there

Summary Of Symphony For The City Of The Dead
Author M.T. Anderson effectively captures the sentiment lived by the Russians in his book Symphony
for the City of the Dead when he tells the story of a young man, Dmitri Shostakovich, who survived
Joseph Stalin s deadly regime and Adolf Hitler s attack on his native city of Leningrad. Throughout
the story, Stalin finds new ways to subjugate his people by eliminating anyone who contradicted his
ideals. Then, the story takes a sinister path when the Germans attack on Russia during World War II
becomes inevitable.
The story begins when a Soviet agent gives an American agent a wooden box which contained a
microfilm with Shostakovich s seventh symphony inscribed in it. This box was taken across the
desserts of the Middle East and North Africa to Cairo, then flown to Brazil, and from there to the
United States (p. 2). The symphony would be played across the country and it would encourage
Americans to aid the Soviets in their attempt to defeat the Nazis.
Afterwards, Anderson goes back in time and reveals how the life of a genius, Shostakovich, was
affected by a series of war conflicts including a revolution and World War I. Then, in October 1917, he
also witnessed the birth of a Communist Russia after Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks seized power.
For a brief period, this new government supported and encouraged artists to develop their talents. The
city became a place where new art, new music, and new drama had to be found for a new world where
workers ruled (p. 37).

Coco Chanel Revolutionised Fashion
Have you ever taken a step back and looked
How Coco Chanel Revolutionised Fashion
By Sienna Hollis at how fashion has revolutionised over the years? Well, this article is taking a step
back in time all the way to the early 1900 s to look at the way that Coco Chanel changed fashion.
Coco Chanel was all about empowering women through her designs by throwing stereotypes of how
women should dress out of the window. She introduced many trends that we still see within todays
society with many of her original products still on sale even after her death in 1971.
One of her original designs in the early 1920 s was the little black dress. The dress was an update for
the modern women, known for both its striking silhouette and dark tone. Since the Victorian times the
dark tone was commonly associated mourning. However this was soon changed after, with Coco being
the one of the causes that made black a colour which could be worn everyday, for Coco black was
simple elegance. Rival couturier Paul Poiret reportedly scoffed at Chanel in the street, mockingly
asking her, What are you in mourning for, Mademoiselle? The quick witted designer responded, For
you, dear Monsieur. Touché!
One of the ways that she broke the female stereotype was breaking the social rule that trousers were
only for men. When WWI broke out in 1914, many women who took worked in manual roles began to
wear trousers in the workplace. Coco Chanel loved wearing trousers herself, often borrowing her
boyfriend s suits,

  • 2. Female Roles In Crime And Punishment Essay Female roles In Crime And Punishment Love resurrected them; the heart of one contained infinite sources of life for the heart of the other (Dostoyevsky 521). Crime And Punishment is a novel about one man, Raskolnikov; this novel follows his life after committing a terrible crime, murder. This novel shows the mental and physical affects that play on his body after committing such a crime. In the novel Crime And Punishment, Dostoyevsky uses Alyona, Sonia and to drive the plot of the novel. In the beginning, the first female character you see is Alyona, an elderly pawnbroker. Alyona is the reason for the murder and the brutality that was put into the murder. Alyona is murdered because she cheats others less fortunate than her; she also abuses poor and helpless Lizaveta. This can been seen when Raskolnikov hears the student say that She was a complete slave and went in fear and trembling of her sister, who made her work day and night, and even beat her (Dostoyevsky 61). Also by using an weak elderly women being killed, one feels sympathy towards Alyona making us wonder if Raskilnokov killed her for the good of others or if he just wanted to be cruel. Hendricks 2 ... Luzhin comes around and she gets into in a relationship with him to get out of poverty, while this relationship almost ends in marriage but sadly it ends. An online shop, eshop, e store, Internet shop, webshop, webstore, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks and mortar retailer or shopping centre As we know that online shopping is the easy way shopping but also there are certain advantages as well as disadvantages. Conclusion/ Recommendation Based on the project leading individuals to reallocate their time and money resources, this study examined the time and cost attributes of shopping modes, and explored the tradeoff between these two attributes, i.e., the value of time, by assuming that consumers were faced with a shopping mode choice between physical store shopping and e shopping. The final estimated value of time include two types: the value of travel time to shopping places, physical stores as far as this study concerned, and the value of waiting time for the delivery of purchased products. Of course consumers concern toward e shopping is not only about time and cost. Some psychological aspects, such as information uncertainty and transaction security, have been playing an important role in dominating consumers e shopping behavior, and have been even more widely discussed in the literature. However, ecommerce continues to advance, in speed and security in particular, it is generally believed that online information will be to a great extent improving both in quantity and quality in the near future. By that time, consumers negative perceptions towards e shopping, such as information uncertainty and transaction security, may fade away. If this is going to be true, then consumers psychological concern over e shopping may gradually be disappearing in the future. Similarities Between Dark Ages And The Dark Ages Classical Vs the Dark Ages If you were to compare how relations between city states were during the dark ages of Greece to the classical era of Greece. You would come along a lot of differences and some similarities that might shock you, they sure did me. You can find differences and similarities in many aspects of their civilization: politics, culture, warfare, and economics. The dark ages of Greece lacked writing so a lot of what we know is indirect. Such as Achilles Anger excerpt from the Iliad gives a pretty good in depth look at the dark ages. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s compare the warfare of both periods, in the dark ages the Trojan war took place, the reason we know that this possibly happened is from the epics that Homer wrote such as the Iliad. In the Iliad, you have Achilles Anger which followed a Greek hero Achilles. He was a role model to all Greek soldiers at the time so we can only assume many soldiers shared the inclinations towards war (spoils, glory, honor), soldier s perspective on the king (unjustly laying claim to larger amounts of spoils of war), and camaraderie among soldiers (Achilles reaction to the death of his friend). This is a very personal point of view on the soldiers that fought that war. We can only assume that much of the wars fought were chaos, and fought one on one with small major fights throughout. Then we have the The Melian Dialogue, which was written during the classical period of Greece about Athenian and the Melians. In short, the Athenians were encroaching on the island of Melos, a colony of Lacedaemon that would not submit to Athens like other island states. The Melians refuse to give up their freedom for the sake of survival, Athenians lay siege on the island and eventually forced surrender. • 9. Eliot s Influences On Literature Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot s Influences On Literature The nineteenth and twentieth century were pivotal times in the world of literature. Many new elements of writing and style were evolving and authors all over the world were finding ways to present what they felt most passionate about. Some writers opened their readers up to newer ideas by the means of, as Ezra Pound once stated, making it new. Two writers in particular who did a fantastic job of this were Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot. Frederick Douglass s most popular work is his autobiography, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. In this story, Douglass makes romanticism new. On the contrast, T.S. Elliot is widely known for his poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, in which he makes new of imagery. While Frederick Douglass and T.S. Eliot come from completely different backgrounds and write with different styles, they share a few commonalities as well as both being influences on literary society. Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County, Maryland around the supposed year of 1818. Like many other slaves, his exact date of birth remains unknown. Douglass was an abolitionist for slavery as well as a supporter for women s rights. Due to his works and accomplishments, it is obvious that Douglass was a major contributor to the literary tradition of American Romanticism. • 10. Basic Principles Of The Polymerase Chain Reaction ( PCR ) a. Describe the basic principles of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PCR is biochemical research technique developed in 1985 by Kary Mullins. It is based on the principle of amplifying DNA through a series of cycling reactions with varying temperatures. PCR uses the ability of thermostable polymerase enzymes to synthesize a new complementary DNA strand to a template strand. b. What are the essential components of a PCR reaction? The essential components of PCR reactions are: i. Taq polymerase: A thermostable DNA polymerase isolated from the bacterium Thermus aquaticus that survives at 750C. ii. DNA primers: Approximately 20 nucleotides in length that are specific to a DNA region of interest. They are complementary in sequence to the ends of the target DNA. Primer is chosen based on what part of DNA needs to be copied or amplified. iii. Sample DNA: Containing target DNA iv. Nucleotides: dNTPs or deoxynucleotide triphosphates are single units of bases of A, T, G and C. v. PCR Buffer: Contains Tris HCL, KCL, and MgCl2. Buffer helps to create optimal conditions for the activity of Taq DNA polymerase. c. What is the name of the instrument typically used for PCR? Describe its operations and how it is useful for performing PCR reactions. PCR reaction is typically performed in a thermocycler also called as a PCR machine or DNA amplifier. Gospel Of John 2 Analysis The purpose of the Gospel of John is clearly stated in verse 20:31: But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. The fourth Gospel needs to be read with that in mind, that each aspect is included to prove the divinity of Jesus Christ. The second chapter of the Gospel of John tells of two distinct accounts; the first, turning water into wine. The second; clearing the temple. Each of these accounts serve John s purpose as stated in 20:31. John 2:1 11 tells of the wedding in Cana. In attendance was Jesus, his mother, Mary, and His disciples. At some point during the festivities they ran out of wine. This was a serious offense in Jewish culture. Running out of wine would have been humiliating and would follow the bridge and groom for the remainder of their lives. As hosts, the family had a social obligation to provide the drink. Monsters are all around us. They re the borders of all possible and crossing the boundary can create trouble and possibly even making you become a monster. Without having monsters in place, humans would not worry about trying things that they shouldn t such as killing or stealing. However, since humans fear the unknown and the idea of doing something bad can lead you to become monster, monsters control the border. Therefore, monsters were created to secure our thoughts of the unknown and make sure we don t go overboard. To begin, monsters are created during a cultural moment such as a time, feeling, and a place (Cohen, 4). Monsters can be in our house, within us and even in our schools. They symbolize fear, desire, anxiety and fantasy, therefore, giving them life and unlimited access to independence (Cohen, 4).Therefore, monsters can be something we make up in our mind because we don t want to face in reality or be something that is actually real in life such as a killer. For example, in the film Pan s Labyrinth, Ofelia, creates this imagination to escape the horror that she faces in her new home. One can see people texting on their phones, riding on hover boards, and using iPads to order food at a restaurant. What used to be inconceivable in the 1950s is now the norm 66 years later The science fiction short story The Veldt, by Ray Bradbury, was written in the 1950s, yet gives the reader perspective on the dangers of advancing technology as a prophecy of our future. In The Veldt, the two parents, Lydia and George, are affluent and spoil their children, Peter and Wendy with technology, which ultimately leads to the parents death. Using Lois Tyson s critical theory of structuralism, this paper will give perspective on the science fiction aspect of the story described through the setting. While analyzing the story, the reader can get a sense of the family s wealth. They live in a lavish home that does everything for them. The house cooks, cleans, and transports each person to whichever room they would like to go to. In the story in says: They walked down the hall of their soundproofed Happylife Home, which had cost them thirty thousand dollars installed, this house which clothed and fed and rocked them to sleep and played and sang and was good to them. An option for selecting health care coverage is through the government s website exchange, this is referenced to the Premium tax credit. After two years of the new schedule, although calmed down somewhat, the controversy continues. An eight period school day (traditional schedule) seems to be far outweighed by a four period school day (block schedule). A four period school day provides academic, educational, and emotional benefits when compared to an eight period school day. A typical eight period school day would have eight forty seven minute long classes with a thirty minute lunch and five minutes between each class period, lasting the whole school year (7). A typical four period school day would have four ninety two minute long classes with a thirty minute lunch and seven minutes between each class period (7). The first four classes go from the middle of August to around the middle of January, then the next four go from the middle of January to the end of May. At Preston High School students and teachers were surveyed on stress levels from each schedule. They were also surveyed on which schedule they thought was more effective for learning. A consensus between all of the students and teachers agreed that the block schedule was more effective for learning (8). They also all agreed that an eight period day proved significantly more stressful when compared to their amount of stress in a four period day (8). A block schedule is very beneficial if it is properly implemented. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One way humans perceive depth is by having eyes that are spaced a little bit apart, this is contrary to certain animals that tend to be prey, and have evolved so that their eyes are on either side of their head to enable them to spot predators. Predator animals, on the other hand, usually have eyes positioned closely together, like humans, to enable them to spot, chase, and swoop down upon prey. The basis for depth perception is founded around the brains usage of both monocular and binocular cues. Alcohol has been used for medical reasons, as well as recreational use. As far as historians can tell, the abuse of Alcohol had been around just as long. But people haven t considered it some type of disorder until the 19th century. In 1819, German Doctor C. W. Hufeland coined the term Dipsomania. Dipsomania was the uncontrollable craving for alcohol. The various circles of hell are used by the writer to tell the tale in a free flowing manner (Havely, 98). Interesting, however, is the manner in which he describes the characters such that they are seen to be facing tragedies in their life in hell. The writer categorizes the different types of sins that people can commit and subjects the characters to various punishments, each of which is in a separate circle in hell. Francesca discloses that she was not shy of expressing her feelings towards Paolo, who she loved even though she was married to his brother. One day, she reveals, her husband caught them together inside her bedroom and was sure that they were lovers. Francesca opened the door and pretended that all was well before her husband. Unknown to Francesca, Paolo had got stuck in a ladder as he attempted to run away. Gianciotto then killed the two of them, although he had not intended to kill his wife. The circumstance that led to her death is an emphasis of the beauty of love. When Gianciotto jumped to slay Paolo with his sword, Francesca rushed in between and faced the death first. The husband was too disappointed and ended up killing Paolo as well. The portrayal of the two characters as lovebirds and the lack of love between Francesca and her husband show the reality that was then (Alighieri, 1013). One way for us to remove these impurities and obtain our desired product is by using a technique called recrystallization. Our goal in this experiment is to prove that recrystallization is a method to purify a solid organic compound with contaminants. In Part A we will purify acetanilide by recrystallization and in Part B we will distinguish the best way to select the solvent required to recrystallize the solute. Removing the solid impurities of an organic compound involves a series of steps. The first step is to dissolve the solid in the minimum amount of the appropriate hot solvent. Therefore, if a solid is first dissolved in an amount of hot solvent that does not dissolve it when cold, crystals should form when the hot solution is allowed to cool. The second step is using hot vacuum filtration, which removes the insoluble impurities from the hot mixture. The acetanilide given to us had two impurities, one soluble and one insoluble in the hot water. The insoluble impurity can be removed after the acetanilide is dissolved in the hot solvent and filtered. Most of the solvent may be evaporated from the crystals as the vacuum pulls the air through the crystals on the funnel, but the acetanilide will still contain the more soluble impurity. It is important to let the solution cool slowly in order for the molecules to line up in an organized way and form the crystals. • 38. How Testing Can Improve Quality Of The Software Introduction This report is going to explain my opinion on how testing software has the ability to significantly improve the quality. I have read certain books that give different reasons for the purpose of testing and how well it actually improves the software, and will reference these as I use them throughout the report. Firstly my opinion on testing is that from experience, I have found testing to help greatly towards improving the quality of the software as it basically breaks down the frame and structure of the software which allows you to see every single line of code in detail and gives you a different perspective so that you can decide what you can do exactly in order to improve the quality. Software Quality is something everyone wants. Managers know that they want high quality, software developers know they want to produce a quality product, and users insist that software work consistently and be reliable. (William E. Lewis, 2004) The principles of testing The first principle of testing is that it allows the user to see defects in the software in the event that there are any along the lines of syntax errors or if the programmer has left out a semi colon. Testing always reduces the number of undiscovered defects remaining in the software but even if no defects are found, it is not a proof of correctness. • 39. Understanding the Marangoni Effect To understand the Marangoni effect it is essential to understand Rayleigh Bénard instability. The Rayleigh Bénard convection instability occurs in a plane horizontal layer of fluid heated from the bottom. The fluid develops a regular pattern of convection cells known as Bénard cells. The convection patterns are the most carefully examined example of self organizing nonlinear systems. Gravity and hence Buoyancy, is the major driving force for the Rayleigh Bénard Marangoni convection instability. The initial movement is the upwelling of lesser density fluid from the heated bottom layer. This upwelling spontaneously organizes into a regular pattern of cells called Bénard cells. The dimensionless Rayleigh number (RaL), which essentially expresses the balance between gravity and viscous forces is given by Where, Tu is the Temperature of the top plate Tb is the Temperature of the bottom plate L is the height of the container. g is the acceleration due to gravity. ν is the kinematic viscosity. α is the Thermal diffusivity β is the Thermal expansion coefficient The critical Rayleigh number (RC) is the threshold over which the convection cells appear. RC ~ 1100.65 for a Marangoni set up with controlled boundary conditions. Rayleigh Bénard convection experiments used fluids heated from below with a confining plate on the top surface. In case of Bénard Marangoni convection arrangement, the top surface does not have a confining plate and is free to move and deform. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her slow removal of clothes seemed like seduction. To the narrator, Frieda undressing herself represented a time of health, independence and youth, I try to imagine her healthy, undressing herself (12). The speaker then remembers how her aunt s body looked naked. She was a petite girl whose body had flaws. Her marks represent the tough times Frieda had growing up. The poem eludes that it was her inner beauty that stands out. It mentions two seventeenth century artists, Rubens and Rembrandt, who have different styles of work. I researched their work and found that Rubens is known for his very sensual and elegant work. In contrast, Rembrandt portrayed tragedy especially in his old age. Aunt Frieda s life was not always glorious, and she endured many tough times. whose scarred beauty Ruben would surely have missed,/ but Rembrandt, in the loneliness of his dying days,/ might have been immortalized (16 18). The poem begins to wind down with the undressing of the newest generation, the daughter. Just like her dad used to as a child, she is getting tired. • 46. Summary Of Symphony For The City Of The Dead Author M.T. Anderson effectively captures the sentiment lived by the Russians in his book Symphony for the City of the Dead when he tells the story of a young man, Dmitri Shostakovich, who survived Joseph Stalin s deadly regime and Adolf Hitler s attack on his native city of Leningrad. Throughout the story, Stalin finds new ways to subjugate his people by eliminating anyone who contradicted his ideals. Then, the story takes a sinister path when the Germans attack on Russia during World War II becomes inevitable. The story begins when a Soviet agent gives an American agent a wooden box which contained a microfilm with Shostakovich s seventh symphony inscribed in it. This box was taken across the desserts of the Middle East and North Africa to Cairo, then flown to Brazil, and from there to the United States (p. 2). The symphony would be played across the country and it would encourage Americans to aid the Soviets in their attempt to defeat the Nazis. Afterwards, Anderson goes back in time and reveals how the life of a genius, Shostakovich, was affected by a series of war conflicts including a revolution and World War I. Then, in October 1917, he also witnessed the birth of a Communist Russia after Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks seized power. For a brief period, this new government supported and encouraged artists to develop their talents. The city became a place where new art, new music, and new drama had to be found for a new world where workers ruled (p. 37). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the Victorian times the dark tone was commonly associated mourning. However this was soon changed after, with Coco being the one of the causes that made black a colour which could be worn everyday, for Coco black was simple elegance. Rival couturier Paul Poiret reportedly scoffed at Chanel in the street, mockingly asking her, What are you in mourning for, Mademoiselle? The quick witted designer responded, For you, dear Monsieur. Touché! One of the ways that she broke the female stereotype was breaking the social rule that trousers were only for men. When WWI broke out in 1914, many women who took worked in manual roles began to wear trousers in the workplace. Coco Chanel loved wearing trousers herself, often borrowing her boyfriend s suits, ...
