Bruce Dawe Poem Weapons Training
Bruce Dawe s poem Weapons Training is a dramatic monologue about the harsh conditions of the
training sessions for troops of the Vietnam War. The poem expresses the harsh conditions as well
as the dehumanisation of the soldiers. The poem was written in 1970 while Dawe was part of the
RAAF. Bruce Dawe uses a variation of language and poetic features to express his opinion and
point of view of the VietnamWar. All of the features which Dawe uses contribute to his
representation of Australia during the war.
Weapons Training is a monologue about the harsh and dehumanising conditions of the training
session for the soldiers. During the poem, Dawe uses a variety of crude words, insults and
Australian slang to show the dehumanisation and attitude the soldiers had to endure. Dawe uses
both crude words and insult to humiliate both Australian and Vietnamese soldiers. He uses
phrases such as unsightly fat and are you queer to insult Australian soldiers and little yellows and
rotten fish sauce breath to insult the Vietnamese. The slang that Dawe uses is able to show a
representation of Australian culture, the slang is old crown jewels, tripe s and copped the bloody
lot. Using these words, the poet is able to show that the culture is strong even during war. All the
words that Dawe uses is a way of degrading the soldiers.
Bruce Dawe uses expressive language features to show the harshness of his poem. Dawe uses a
variety of descriptive words to express his opinion,

Skeletal System Informative Speech
Have you ever wondered whats in your body? well i m here to tell you about the skeletal system
that every human being haves, and if you don t have one something is wrong which i highly doubt
if thats true. The skeletal system is a very important part of our body ,it helps us move through the
day. Without that we wouldn t be here because without that our body would shutdown and we
would become weak.
The skeletal system haves 6 primary functions. which includes support, protection, movement,
mineral homeostasis, blood cell protection, and storage. All of these functions are a big part of our
body and are helping us out even if we don t know they are. The support function provides
structural support for the entire body. The mineral homeostasis stores calcium and phosphorus. The
blood cell production is the red bone marrow which produces red and white blood cells and other
elements. My favorite function is protection because it provides soft tissue around the heart, lungs,
ribs, and most importantly the brain. Another one of my favorites is movement , because i like to
move and i m a really busy person and just cant stay still. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The skeletal system has two different parts, the axial skeleton which has a a total of 80 bones and
consists of the vertebral column, the rib cage and the skull. And the appendicular skeleton which has

lower limbs. The skeletal system is made up of the skeleton, axial skeleton, skull, backbone, bony
thorax, appendicular skeleton, upper appendages, the hand, lower appendages, bone composition,

Violence in Sports
Unfortunately, violence has become a part of everyday life in our world. It can be witnessed in
many forms and of different proportions in numerous situations. Never, under any circumstances is
violence good. When one thinks of violence, thoughts may arise of war, people committing violent
acts against others, domestic violencewithin families, and not to mention the abundance of
television shows and movies that are packed with sadistic, yet entertaining violence of all sorts.
Over the past couple of decades there has been an increased concern regarding the spread of
violence throughout our realm and in our homes. However, one area in which violence has had
such heavy influence is within sports. To analyze violence in sports, one... Show more content on

Last season Todd Bertuzzi of the Vancouver Canucks dropped Colorado Avalanche rookie Steve
Moore from behind causing Moore to suffer three broken vertebrae in his neck and a concussion.
Some say that hockey actually made Bertuzzi do what he did. Though Bertuzzi acted out of rage,
it was really nothing more than what hockey taught him and literally hundreds of thousands of
kids to do over the past fifty years. I have played hockey for well over half of my life and I know
this to be true; it is the nature of the sport. Violence is conditioned into all of us in different ways
and to different degrees. Those who say Hockey made Bertuzzi do it, do have a point. It is the
same in the streets and households across the country. If a child is constantly faced with
violence in their home, they will no doubt grow up to be more violent than the child who did not
experience such living. This goes for anyone and in all areas of life. Violence is a vicious cycle and
is very close to impossible to stop or even cut down. The more one is conditioned to violence, the
more violent a person they will become.
How does one justify violence in the sports we have come to love? One of the most interesting
aspects of sports violence is that which is committed by the fan. Not only is violence committed by
athletes, but at times sport fans can get so caught up and emotionally charged by rooting for their
home team and things end up getting out of hand. The best examples of this

GramDominator : The only featured tool for Instagram Unfollow Tracker.
Meta Description: In this post we will look at an alternative way for Instagram Unfollow Tracker

Every business running on Instagram wants more followers. They implement many tactics to
entice new users. However, it is equally important to retain your existing followers. Repaying
gratitude to your existing followers is as mandatory as targeting new users. The best example

You can contact those users who left your account to win them back as your valuable followers.
But this all is possible only when you get an access to recognize which user has exactly left your
account. That s why Instagram Unfollow tracker is important.
The most basic way to check who has unfollowed you is to manually check profiles of each user
and examine if he/she is still following you or not. This surely takes much time to get completed
and obviously could make anybody insane.
That s why you have to take assistance from an external source.
But why Insta does not Provide any notifications to its users for the same? Though, Insta has not
declared any reason precisely but as per my assumption, it s one of the Insta s ways for sentiment
consolation. Where it does not notify you about who has unfollowed you, it also does not notify
others that you have unfollowed them, providing users the more flexibility to unfollow each other.
As following back is among a distinctive tenets of social networking sites.
The only fundamental fact is, Instagram s new set of rules for third party app interventions do not
allow any application to integrate this feature. Read Instagram s Permission Review for submission

Eastlink was aimed to connect the eastern north south region; it connects the eastern freeway to
Frankston freeway. The land of the toll road was set aside by the government in 1960 to and in
2002 the project was officially accepted in policy.[ K. Wellman, Marcus Spiller, 2012. Urban

By providing 39 Km of motorway, Eastlink allows citizens to travel along the eastern region and
save time by bypassing 45 traffic lights. It also carries a great amount of traffic; therefore, it creates
more jobs and economical boost. Eastlink created approximately 15 billion boost to the economy
and 1400 employment opportunities were generated during its construction and operation.[

The Bungalow Craze in the US
The Bungalow Craze The bungalow style was a major influence in the drastic change of
American society and how people lived. It influenced a major shift in gender role of women in
society, creating easier housekeeping techniques and greater employment and career
opportunities for women by confronting economic and social issues in society using domestic
architecture. The simpler home design expressed many tensions of Progressivism in attempting
to solve social issues of the time. The transformation brought about new ideas as well as fears
that had to be confronted. The spread of factories from the industrial age left anxiety concerning
the loss of independence and masculinity. The middle class population was becoming salaried
workers, loosing economic and moral independence. The Progressive Era had created a deep
desire to reshape institutions and values as well as faith to reform the people. At the same time,
the Arts and Crafts Movement grew in response to the spread of factories. It drew inspiration from
John Rustic, an Oxford artist, who believed that machines were robbing people of the creativity
and pleasure of work situations. The bungalow design was influenced by a variety of social and
economic trends that expanded the middle class and became a powerful means of transformation in
American society. Arts and Crafts promoters associated the bungalow design with creative manual
work, independence, and a way to return to manhood of common work practices. The bungalow

Explain How To Determine A Cat s Age
How to Determine a Cat s Age
According to The American Veterinary Medical Association market statistics there are
approximately 82 million domesticated cats populating American households. A cat can make a
loving pet, but expect to make a commitment to care for them for up to fifteen years. There are
several factors that are used to establish a cat s age and life expectancy.
On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for
a male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. An outdoor, household cat
has a life span of almost ten years. Alternatively, a feral cat s lifespan is estimated to be only 3 4
years. A feral cat is a wild, undomesticated cat that lives outside and depends on its own devices for
food, shelter, and protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adult cat s coat will become coarser and thicker, and color may change from dark to light or
vice versa.
A cat s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are
spayed or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have
tragic deaths caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals
and diseases. Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add
years to their life. Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases
and can lead to early detection of health conditions.
At one time, it was thought that a cat ages seven human years for each calendar year. This has been
proven a misconception. A cat ages quickly the first two years of life and then age progresses
slower in the years after. At one year of age, a cat is approximately 15 years old in human years. By
the age of two, it has aged to 24 human years. Each of the following years the cat ages
approximately four human years; therefore a five year old feline is equal to 36 years

Lacrosse Application Research Paper
Lacrosse may be the single most impactful force in my life. I have come to define myself through
my involvement with the sport. I do not consider myself a natural athlete; I have had to work
very hard to earn every achievement in lacrosse. For the past six years, I have continued to set my
aspirations higher and increase my effort to achieve my goals. I have applied what I have learned
from lacrosseto many other aspects of my life: I am now an A level student at one of the most
academically rigorous high schools in the country, I am an active participant and in my school s
rock band, acapella group, and jazz band, and I am a committed member of my school s wrestling

decisions. At the start of ninth grade, my former school, Collegiate, announced it was dropping its
lacrosse program. While my family and I fought hard to convince them to keep the team, we ended
up needing to seek out an alternative solution. I contacted most of the coaches and athletic
directors at New York City private schools acting if I could practice with their squad. Trinity High
School, my current high school, offered me the opportunity to practice with them. Halfway through
the season, the coach suggested I speak with the admissions department because he believed that I
was a good fit with both the team and the school. I changed schools this year in tenth grade and

from which The Interlopers is told. The story is told in the limited omniscient point of view.
Saki tells the story in third person, but from the viewpoint of von Gradwitz, looking at events
through his eyes. We know everything that goes on in the mind of von Gradwitz, but nothing
about what Znaeym is feeling or thinking unless, of course, he expresses his feelings in some

mind. Our consciousness is limited to von Gradwitz, as we see events from his viewpoint only. 6.

may continue to thrive for many more generations. 7. Irony With what kind of irony does The

My New House Essay
As soon as I walked into the front doors of my new house I knew this wasn t my old house. It
was like walking into my grandma s house which was like a thousand years old. I definitely
liked my old house better. Speaking of my old house, it was like my dream house. It was like I
was in my very own world and I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted on that farmland back
in Tennessee. Now this stinky dump in Cleveland is nothing like our city in Tennessee. I walked
up the old creaky stairs and at the top to the right was my room. As soon as I walked into my
room I could not say a word, it was the ugliest room ever, but I knew I had to make it work. Oh I
miss those days back at our farm in Tennessee. At home I was always stressed because of school
but at the farm it gave me something to do and to take my mind off school. The farm was so fun
I got to do whatever I wanted to do,like run throw the corn mazes, take care of the chickens, make
sure all the plants had water, play with the gotes, ride horses, there was so many things to do at the
farm that you could never get bored. My favorite thing to do was plant different types of vegetables
and fruitand watch the plants grow. I truly missed the farm, and all I could think about was the
farm and how much fun I had there and how I lived there my whole childhood. The next morning
I woke up to the sound of fire truck siren, I guess in the city of Cleveland you will always hear
them or anything loud at 6:00 in the morning. I truly thought that this was the jumpiest and
loudest city ever, well at least in this part of Cleveland. I stay in my room the rest of the morning
trying to figure out how to make my room feel like home. All of a sudden I hear loud screaming
from down stairs. We would have never had to move here if you re stupid crops did not die my
mom said. The move was really hard on my mom she loved ohio and loved her job,but my mom
and dad were not making much money. Then I heard louder screaming, It is not just all my fault
you could have got a better job, my dad says. Then I hear screaming even louder how could you
say that, you knew I loved my job! My mom said. The screaming went on for another 5 mins, I
could not listen to it any more so I decided to

The Role Of Women In The Bell Jar By Sylvia Plath
Madelyn Hawthorne
October 11, 2017
Essay #1
In The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath there were many prominent female characters that Esther came into
contact with that had an affect on her life. The individual women all behaved quite differently and
gave Esther a different, and at times confusing, sense of what it was to be a woman. They spanned
from Doreen, the sensual and experienced friend who had little concern with conforming to rules,
to Mrs. Willard, the stereotypical housewife who willingly became a floormat to be walked all over
by her husband. Throughout the novel, Esther compared herself to these different women and often
found that she didn t fit in with any of them. She felt as if she must become a certain type of
woman but wasn t attracted to the lifestyles of any of the women that she met, making it hard for
her to find her own identity. The restrictions that were placed on Esther as a woman and the
ways in which she was expected to conform to society fueled her depression and made it hard for
her to discover and accept her identity. The novel began with the reader being introduced to
Doreen which was interesting seeing as though she was on one of the far ends of the spectrum of
women that Esther met. Through Doreen s experience Esther was able to discover her own
inexperience. Doreen was sensual and had no regards for the fact that during the time women were
supposed to be pure. This fascinated Esther and she began to wonder if what she had known her
whole life had

Analysis Of James Joyce s Araby
In the short story Araby, James Joyce provides the audience with a glimpse if 19th century
Ireland seen through the eyes of an adolescent young man. It is this adolescence and the navies
of the world that is under attack. Joyce masterfully reveals an innocence held by Araby by
contrasting it with a setting filled with symbology that eludes to the hopeless reality in which he
lives. Joyce injects a sense of unrealized bleakness for the protagonist by the imagery that he puts
forth. North Richmond street, being blind was a quiet street except for the hour... (Joyce 200),
immediately sets the atmosphere as one that is almost desolate, with iron gray clouds heavy with
grief for the people below. The with the ending phrase, except for the hour (Joyce 200), reinforces
this feeling. Only one hour, where life and movement grace this street but fleeting, like freshly
minted snowflake landing on a cheek flushed with embarrassment. Much like a crepuscular ray,
pushing through clouds, when gone, do the clouds not seem darker. The path to adult hood for
Araby rests under these skies and winds thorough a morass of self truthand a sense of predestined
caste. The reality of Arabys life comes into focus early on. His poor and reality destitute situation
made apparent mainly by where he lives. An uninhabited house...stood at the blindend, detached
from its neighbors (Joyce 200) , is revealing to the economic station of Araby. The fact that he lives
with his uncle suggest that in his

What does it mean to me?
It has to address incorporating integrity.

Until I was given forgiven.
In spite of the things I did to myself and to others
I must now incorporate into my soul, the meaning of Integrity:
Loyalty to ethical and moral principles, understanding of moral character honesty.
Integrity has to be lodged into my mind, body and soul.
This is what I must live by, working in an OR.
I thought I could live by my rules, my way
I thought to myself, that I was the princess in my own castle; however I came to realize that
I was just a poor servant taking orders from the Queen.
What a fool I was!
I will no longer choose to construct emotional or spiritual walls.
When I chose not to practice my decisions based on integrity,
I reinforced and intensified my emotional spiritual walls with my own shame and guilt.
I refused to take the blame, so I blamed others instead.

Was my absence of integrity.

Doctor Assisted Suicide And Suicide
Doctor assisted suicide is a topic that has recently become a much larger debated issue than before.
A timeline put together by Michael Manning and Ian Dowbigging shows that prior to Christianity,
doctor assisted suicide was something that was tolerated, and was not heavily questioned (2). Yet, in
the 13th century, Thomas Aquinas had made a statement about suicideas well as doctor assisted
suicide, and his words shaped the Catholic teaching on suicide into what they teach today.
Beginning in the 17th century, Common Law tradition frowned upon suicide, as well as assisting
in suicide, and the colonies had adopted the Common Law principles. (2) In 1828, New York
passed a law completely outlawing the assistance of suicide, and made it to where whomever
assisted in the suicide could be tried for murder. In 1976, California became the first state to allow
patients to withdrawal themselves from life saving medicines, and this Natural DeathAct was seen
as a gateway to assisted suicide. (3 7) As controversy about California s Natural Death Act
increased, Pope John Paul II released a statement in 1980 which opposed to killing someone out
of mercy, but allowed the increased use of painkillers (8). Although, in 1994 Oregon passed their
Death with Dignity act, and with it came incredible amounts of backlash. Yet, in 2008 Washington
state passed the same act to legalize doctor assisted suicide. (10 12) In most people s lives, they
will experience a moment of knowing death is near.

Questions On The Coat Of Arms Essay
Coat of Arms Christella So Centennial College Coat of Arms The Coat of Arms our group
designed includes what we think about nursing and the characteristics that a nurse should
possess. From top to bottom, we have a clock that shows a patient recovering after receiving
nursing care. The shield is the body and the core of our Coat of Arms, which is also our core
value toward nursing what nursing means to us and what nurses should possess. Above the
shield, we have a nursing cap which is a common symbol of nursing. In the shield, we have a
stethoscope that is surrounded by many buildings from different countries. Inside the
stethoscope, we have a heart; two shaking hands and a vital sign. We also added angel wings that
show how people have typically thought of nursing in the past and even now. Then below is the

symbols, I believe that the cities of the earth, the heart in the middle, handshake, and the scale of

The Evolution Of Modern Cattle Breeding
INTRODUCTION:
Modern cattle breeding increasingly involves the widespread use of advanced reproductive
technologies, including artificial insemination (AI) and multiple ovulation embryo transfer
(MOET), frequently with the germplasm of elite international sires and dams selected through
individual and progeny performance recording schemes. These technologies facilitate the rapid
worldwide multiplication of offspring from elite animals to assist the propagation of genes that
improve milk yield, meat production and other desirable traits. However rapid propagation of
desirable genes is accompanied by simultaneous propagation of genetic mutations that may results
in production losses and animal welfare problems, such as Citrullinaemia. ... Show more content on

Incidence of heterozygotes for citrullinemia has been estimated at less than 0.5% among U.S.
Holsteins cattle.
Harper and co workers have reported citrullinemia in the Friesian cattle breed (Friesian are a breed
of dairy cattle identical to the Holstein breed commonly used in the United States) in Australia.
Bovine citrullinemia was not a useful marker for milk, fat and protein production because 1) the
frequency of the defective allele was low and 2) within family differences was non significant
between normal and heterozygous half sisters (Roger, 1998).
Pathogenesis:
Citrullinemia is an inborn error of metabolism due to a deficiency of the urea cycle enzyme
argininosuccinate synthetase. The affected animals have liver AS mRNA levels at less than 5% of
controls due to a single base pair mutation (Dennis, 1989). This metabolic disorder was first
identified in humans and later in dogs and
Friesian calves (Odalys, 2009). The genetic disorder results in a deficiency in arginino succinate
synthetase, leading to enzymatic disruption of the urea cycle.
Argininosuccinate synthetase (ASS, EC 6.3.4.5) is a urea cycle enzyme which is expressed at high
levels in the liver. The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of citrulline, aspartate, and ATP to yield
argininosuccinate, the immediate precursor of arginine (Husson, 2003). The mutation responsible
for citrullinemia has been characterized as a single base substitution (C T) in exon 5

The Theme Of Environmentalism In Frank Herbert s Dune
In undoubtedly one of the grandest science fiction epics of all time, Frank Herbert s Dune focuses
on a stunning blend of politics, environmentalism, adventure, and mysticism. Recipient of the
Nebula Award and Hugo Award, Dune explores the effects of a changing global climate most
prominently. The role of science fictionisn t so much to predict the future, rather than to astound the
audience with its possible leading avenues. Dunehas a sparse ecosystem and Herbert explores for
instance how the limitation of water would transform the planetary ecology and possible
sustenance for human life. Thus Dune, stands as an early example that explores environmentalism
and ecology, effectively communicating these novel ideas in the 1960 s to a new and young
audience and generation. Herbert focuses on the untapped human potential of transcending the
primary state of living conditions, however with a plethora of limitations and consequences.
Particularly interesting, the novel as a whole serves as an allegory for the dangers of environmental
shortages and damages. Although some may presume the novel Dune as confusing archaic misfit
for a science fiction novel, these romantic critics are often too dogmatic in their provincial
ideologies. Several warnings are presented throughout the course of the novel on ancient dangers
such as the greed of mercantile corporations, the intertwined complications of religion and politics,
conflicts of feudalism, and most prominently ecological fragility.

11th Armored Calvary Regiment
The 11th Armored Calvary Regiment The best damn Regiment that you will ever see. As you rank
up in the enlisted side here in the 11th ACR you realize that we really are the best Regiment, but
as a young private it can seem unreal and your mindset is different. I just completed the three week
course of Basic Leadershipin Camp Parks CA, and as I learned about all the different units and
patches the soldiers wear in their shoulder, I realized that we really are the best, so I wore the
black horse patch during the course with such pride, knowing that warriors are made in our unit,
and I say this because all the Soldiers from the 11th ACR graduated this course with a GPA of
90% and above. This was not what I believed when I first showed up to the unit, as a young
private I was confused and wondered why all my battle buddies were training on Tanks and

would be to organize and plan more training events pertaining to the soldiers MOS, the reason I
would make this change is so the young soldiers dont feel the way I did, I believe this will be
helpful so when the time comes to transition to another duty station the soldiers feel confident
and prepared to be successful in their new unit and their MOS. The RTU gets to shoot live fire

Dr. Constance Peterson s Spellbound, A Film Production...
First, the old maid characterizes female scientist who is only interested in work as if she was
married to it. The spectators will have no doubt of her scientific competence. Nonetheless, as a
woman, she is definitely lacking of something. She does not necessarily appear as an old lady, but
she does appear bespectacled. In addition, she is depicted to have an old fashioned style.
Throughout the course of the film, this femaleprotagonist will undergo a transformation, a
character development. Then, a man will appear and change her life. This particular man is going
to show her a way of love which is way out of her routine rationality. A character which best
illustrates this first stereotype is Dr. Constance Peterson in Spellbound, a 1945 movie production
directed by David O. Selznick (Flicker 311).
Second, the male woman is portrayed as a member of male team who can stand on her on by
learning to be assertive within her male colleague environment, have a rough and harsh voice,
dress practically and tend to acquire unhealthy lifestyle such as bad sleeping habits, smokes, drinks
(Flicker 311). To some extent, this male woman female scientist is parallel to the character of male
scientist who is often times portrayed as hard, very diligent worker, absent minded, confused or
worse, mad (Haynes quoted in Flicker 311). More to this, in term of femininity, this female scientist
does not have such quality, rather she is seen as asexual characteristic. Even though, her

Starry Night Evaluation Essay
The following evaluation is based on the premise that art is creativity, popular, and masterful
technique. Creativity, popular, and masterful technique is important because it allows us to
exclude plagiarism, biased art, and sloppy. First, art can be creative but not plagiarised because
then is is not original or unique meaning it is not creative. Next, art can be popular but not biased
on a small group. Finally, art can also have masterful technique but cannot be sloppy. With all of
this in mind, an evaluation of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh
will show that it is a piece of art.
A closer look at creativity indicates that it is present in painting. For example, going back to what I
said in the previous paragraph on how the painting is unique because it is easily recognizable; this
also makes it creative. Creative means it is unique; since it is unique then it must mean that the
painting is creative. Another example is it contains original patterns, this makes it creative because
they are unique. One final example ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the painting is located in the Museum of Modern Art. This museum is one of the
most famous museums in the U.S.; this proves that it is popular. Another example is that the
painting is popular because it is recognizable. In order to be popular a painting needs to be
recognizable, so a lot of people know it, like starry night. One final example is, the worth of the
painting is over 100 million dollars. The fact that the price is high proves that it is popular;
because it shows it is in demand.Though some people say that popularity does not apply to this
piece because some people haven t heard of it. Yet it is clear that popularity applies to this piece
because a majority of people know it; since i have proved that many people can recognize it , it is
in a famous museum, etc. Therefore, we can conclude that the painting is a piece of art since it is

Maturity In Tom Sawyer
Throughout multiple exciting adventures and dangerous explorations in the novel The Adventures
of Tom Sawyer , we see Tom Sawyer mature. He matures through the love of Aunt Polly, Becky,
Huck and other characters in the novel. In his search for treasure, Tom learns about personal
accountability. Even in everyday life, we watch him develop from a boyinto an adult. From a selfish
young, mischievous lad, Tom becomes a sincere, kind and responsible young man.
Before we continue, we should discuss what maturity is. According to Wikipedia, the definition of
maturity is a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or
environment in an appropriate and adaptive manner. This response is generally learned rather than
instinctual, and is not determined by one s age. Maturity also encompasses awareness of the correct
time and place to behave, knowing when to act with appropriate emotion for the situation. Maturity
incorporates personal accountability, meaning you take ownership of situations you are involved
in. By following one s conscience, you are taking personal accountability.
During the adventures of Huck and Tom s treasure hunting, the two came across the antagonist,
Injun Joe. Earlier, Huck and Tom witnessed Injun Joe murder a doctor and put the blame on an
innocent man. The two juvenile boys had made a vow that neither of them would tell anyone since
they were scared that Injun Joe would come after them. This shows fear that most people would
experience in this situation. Knowing that an innocent man will be punished for an act he did not
commit, Tom s conscience convinced him to testify against Injun Joe, freeing a guiltless man.
Critics... view incidents such as Tom s encounters with Injun Joe...as confrontations between
innocence and evil which initiate Tom into the world of adult responsibilities and consequences.
Near the beginning of the book, Tom falls in love with a beautiful young girl, Becky. The
relationship that Tom and Becky shared is very childish and immature. When Tom mentions his
past girlfriend, Becky gets super emotional and upset because she thinks Tom is still in love with
her. Tom also claims that he will marry Betty even though

The Effect Of Hyperglycemia On The Brain
It has been long recognized that children with diabetes mellitus onset before age 5 yr have
permanent neurocognitive dysfunction more commonly than aged matched or sibling peers . A
recent study showed that children with diabetes onset before age 7 yr had reduced intellectual
performance and mild central brain atrophy in adulthood when compared with individuals with
similar duration of diabetes but later onset . Because both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia occur
in young children with type 1 diabetes, it is unlikely that hypoglycemia is the primary cause of this
recognized but little publicized reduction in cognitive function associated with childhood type 1
diabetes in children. Hyperglycemia is known to adversely affect peripheral nerve structure and
function in younger (3 6 months) but not in older rats. Physical and functional damage to
peripheral nerves associated with diabetes is related to increased activity of the polyol pathway .
The polyol pathway is a minor pathway of glucose metabolism that increases the intracellular
content of the polyol sorbitol in response to increased extracellular glucose concentrations.... Show

Civil Disobedience Pros And Cons
Civil Disobedience Kimi Parker Topic 1 September 12, 2015 Phil 1101 Professor Daniel Hass
Socrates believed that civil disobedience was unethical. If a person does not wish for a law to
exist, then they must take it to higher powers to appeal that it is wrong and should be removed
(Hass).I agree with this to an extent. If there is a just and logical court system or appeal system,
then by no means should people be permitted to fight the law by breaking the law. This is
especially the case if the laws aren t actually causing damage to any person s well being. However,
if the court or appeal system will not hear an argument, and their decision can or will hurt people,

true. It was the court s decision. And he did not let the court make their decision. I disagree with
this. He broke a law, and he knew that he was breaking it. Anybody else who broke this law

just self preservation and in the person s own self interest. If it was a special circumstance, then

Taking a Look at Mangroves
1.0 Introduction A mangrove is a tree, shrub, palm or ground fern, generally exceeding one and a
half metres in height, which normally grows above mean sea level in the intertidal zone of marine
coastal environments and estuarine margins. A mangrove is also the tidal habitat comprising such
trees and shrubs (Mangroves defined, n.d.). To survive in an intertidal environment, they must be
able to tolerate a broad range of salinity, temperatures and moisture levels. In an environment with
such low oxygen levels, different species of mangroves use different adaptations in an effort to get
as much oxygen as possible.
Different species of mangroves gather oxygen in different ways, some use roots that protrude
from the ground called peg roots, these peg roots, which are covered in lenticels, can reach up to
30cm in height and allow the plant to exchange gas, as an extension of the roots, which run
through the ground, this allows the plant to absorb nutrients from the soil as well, which is a
common adaptation in all species of mangroves. Other species are raised from the ground on stilt
roots that gather oxygen in the upper reaches of the roots, and then descend into the ground. Slit
roots are similar to knee root, except knee root first grow into the ground and then breach the
surface to collect oxygen (Marine Education Society of Australiasia , n.d.). Mangrove roots types

The death penalty is something that has been debated for many years, as people wonder whether
carrying out the death penalty constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. The definition of cruel and

that is to sever for the crimecommitted. I believe the death penalty to be inhumane and unnecessary
no matter the circumstances. Whether how horrible acts of the criminals are I feel the death
penalty is unethical. Clearly, those in favor of the death penalty see the world through the saying

On December 14, 2009, Kenneth Biros from Ohio was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
However, instead of the tradition three drug combination executioners used one drug. During the
process it took executioners thirty minutes to find a vein for the needle, compared with the two
hours spend hunting for a vein on the last prisoner Ohio tried to kill, Romell Broom. (New York

the executioners gave up. One of the most memorable botched executions was of Frank J.

IFDM Communication Systems
OFDM is a great technique to handle impairments of wireless communication channels such as
multipath propagation. Hence, OFDM is a practical candidate for future 4G wireless
communications techniques [1] [4]. On the other hand, one of the major drawbacks of the OFDM
communication system is the drift in reference carrier. The offset present in received carrier will
lose orthogonality among the carriers. Hence, the CFO causes a reduction of desired signal
amplitude in the output decision variable and introduces ICI. Then it brings up an increase of
BER. The effect caused by CFO for OFDMsystem was analyzed in [7] [9]. In [7] BER upper
bound of OFDM system is analyzed without ICI self cancellation and BER of OFDM system is
analyzed using self cancellation, but this method is less accurate. In [9], it is indicated that CFO
should be less than 2% of the bandwidth of the sub channel to guarantee the signal to interference
ratio to be higher than 30 dB. A critically sampled OFDM system/OQAM system is also not
robust to CFO [9], even when optimal pulses are used as shaping filters. Thus, carrier frequency
offset greatly degrades system performance. Therefore, practical OFDM systems need the CFO to
be compensated with sufficient accuracy, and this has led to a whole lot of literature on CFO
estimation algorithms. Most of the existing CFO estimators for OFDM are based on periodically
transmitted pilot symbols. Yet, the pilot symbols transmission loses a significant bandwidth,

skepticism and resistance to change involved. Apple employees were sure to feel enormous

always a good idea to have a framework for building upon. Using change models can guide leaders

1.How would you describe your own temperament? (Do you think you were an easy child, a
difficult child, or a slow to warm up child?)
As an infant and toddler, I don t think that I fell under one temperament category. I spent my
infancy and toddler years in a village in the mountains of Mexico. In consequence, I had to deal
with poverty, lack of resources, and the absence of my mother for most of those years. For those
reasons, I believe that I probably had characteristics from of the temperament categories. My
mother had told me that as an infant if she couldn t find anyone to watch me, she would take me
with her to the fields and leave me at the end of her rows and check on me when she made her
way back. Hearing these kinds of stories makes me believe that I had to adapt and overcome many
different situations depending on my environment at that time. I can compare this to the goodness
of fit theory mentioned in the book on page 189. As an adolescent, I went through some traumas
and I would describe myself to be more of a difficult type of temperament.

Jonbenet Ramsey Case Study
The Mysterious Murder of Innocence
On average about one third of murders go unsolved in America. Jonbenet Ramsey was murdered in
1996 on December 26 and was later found by her Father John Ramsey in the basement of her home
in Boulder, Colorado. To this day her death remains unsolved with several fascinating theories
encompassing her murder and the events leading up to it.
The mystery behind child beauty queen Jonbenet Ramseys murder can be summed up into two
theories connecting her parents to the crime or one of Johns coworkers. The investigation into the
murder of Jonbenet Ramsey was marred from the outset by such police errors as allowing Ramsey
family and friends to contaminate the crime scene before securing the area, allowing her father to
search the house unaccompanied by police, and letting family members remove items from the
home before the investigation was completed. This case highlights the need for proper crime scene
management (Katz 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Investigators suspect that the murder was unintentional. The killer supposedly had intimate
knowledge of the house. The most enticing theory is that Jonbonets father John Ramsey and

sexually assaulting their daughter and when trying to hit him over the head with a flashlight she
accidently hit Jonbenet instead this would explain why the couple would need to lie for each
other and try to cover up the murder together. There has been assumption that Jonbenet was
killed in the basement. Her body was very clearly moved. She had been placed in her favorite
blanket in a dryer that was near her room. This shows the love that the killer had for her. She had

Physician Assisted Suicide Is A Controversial Topic
One may have heard of suicide, but not physician assisted suicide. The two are very different in
terms of the act of taking one s own life. For instance, physician assisted suicide is done with
help from another person, usually a physician; where the doctor is willing to assist with either the
means of how to take one s own life or the actual act itself. This can either be by prescribing lethal
doses of drugs to these patients who want to take their own life or by counseling these patients on
what drugs they should take. Essentially, it is giving a painless deathto someone who is suffering
from an incurable illness (MedicineNet Inc. 2015).
Physician assisted suicide is a very controversial topic. Many people feel very strongly about
letting people have free will and others feel very strongly about showing these people
compassion instead of the help of ending their life (Cable News Network (CNN) 2015).
Currently the United States has three states that legalized physician assisted suicide. These three
states include Oregon, Washington, and Vermont (Cable News Network (CNN) 2015). All three
of these states allow a competent adult who has a terminal illness to choose to end their life with
the help of a physician (Death with Dignirty National Center 2015). The people who qualify for
this must have at least six months or less to live (Cable News Network (CNN) 2015).

The word Torah can be a difficult word to understand because in various contexts it can refer to
different things. As discussed in Revealing World Religions, the basic concept of the Torah is
referring to the Five Books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
This is where things are complex because the word Torah can also be used to refer to the entire

Nutrition for Sport
Introduction
An athlete needs to ensure that they consume enough fuel to complete activities undertaken. The
amount of energy required depends on many factors including size and weight of the athlete, level
and intensity of the training, and due to this the amount of energy required varies from person to
person. However if more energy is consumed than required, the excess is stored as fat and weight
will increase, on the other hand if insufficient energy is consumed the body calls upon its stores to
meet the demand and weight will be lost.
To consume a balanced diet we need to consume items from the macro and micro nutrient groups.
Macronutrients comprise of carbohydrates, lipids and protein. Carbohydrates are quickly accessible

Female Tennis Player
The athletes calorie requirements need to be worked out what is required every day before any
training is added in. To do this the same calculation was made as the female runner, except
instead of 8.7 x kg it is 14.7 x kg and 496 is added instead of 829, this is because this athlete is in
a different age group. Again activity requirement is taken into consideration, at 450 calories an
hour, and as exact training figures are not available it has been estimated at 6 hours training a
week, which then works out as an extra 2700 calories a week. This figure is then divided by 7 to
give the extra calories needed each day. So this athlete needs a total of 3384 calories a day to
maintain her current stature. Again the daily allowance needs to be divided between the
macronutrients. According to National Institute of Nutrition (2007) this athlete needs
CHO:Lipids:Protein at 60:25:15. Once again the calories are converted into grams. See Appendix 1.
Using this information there was a deficit across the board, see Appendix 2.
When analysing her food diary it has been noted that very little water had been consumed, she
only had 3 litres over the 3 days but she did consume a bottle of lucozade on 2 of the 3 days.
However she did have a bottle of wine, which took up a massive 9% of her 3 days allowance.
Alcohol is not good for you as it dehydrates the body, which in turn makes it harder to train the
following day. Very little fresh

Touch Up Home Research Paper
Homeowners who are about to move out of their property will want to ensure that they take care
of some necessary home repairs before their tenants move in. Taking care of minor repairs in
advance can save you a lot of money later on down the road. Touch up Work Once your home is
empty, it will be easier to see where touch ups are required. Use matching paint to cover up scuff
marks, peeling paint from doors, minor scratches on the walls, flaking paint from the windowsill
and elsewhere that could do with a lick of paint. If the paint is flaking, prepare the surface by
sanding it down to remove the old paint before adding a fresh coat of paint. Clean the Carpets It

Is the problem really as bad as you think? Look at what has happened calmly and clearly,
checking whether you can deal with it yourself or at least limit the damage before calling out an
expert. Leaking Pipe Turn off the water at mains stopcock. Then run the taps to drain the
system. Turn off electricity if the leak runs close to wiring or electrical fittings. If punctured by
a nail, leave the nail in place. Call a plumber. Blocked Sink Or Drain В· If the waste pipe from a
basin or sink is blocked, try a plunger. В· Place a bucket under the basin or sink, open the trap in
the pipe and poke wire down to clear blockage. В· Try a proprietary drain cleaner. В· Call a
plumber/drainage company. Cistern Problems Take the top of the cistern off and see whether
the ball cock is jammed. Shut off the water supply to the cistern. Hold flush down until the
cistern is empty. If flushing system needs replacing, take mechanism to plumber s merchant so
you can buy the correct one. If this doesn t work, call the plumber. Blocked Loo Use a plunger to
try and loosen the blockage. If it clears, flush the loo several times to wash through. Open the

Essay on The Longest Day
quot; The Longest Day quot; was a mammoth project dramatizing D day, the Allied invasion of
France. It was nearly three hours in length and with an enormous ensemble cast, all playing
supporting roles. The production was very conscientious about realism, the actors were always of
the same nationality as their characters, and spoke in their native languages, leading to a lot of
subtitles translating French and German dialogue. Although the movie was historically correct, it
was also meant to be a blockbuster by starring John Wane, Robert Mitchum, Sean Connery and
Henry Fonda. But The American role in the invasion is not exaggerated, and the German soldiers
and officers are not portrayed as brutal stereotypes.
The date for invasion was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given consideration that the film was made in early sixties these things are easily forgiven. The
movie did a very good job in focusing on Omaha beach where the allies had encountered most
resistance. It was the most restricted and heavily defended of all beaches. The Allies had
assigned one veteran division to this beach. Germans were fighting furiously to defend the beach,
and the invasion of Omaha was very close to failure, but due to grate leadership, the Allis were
able to get inland. There were 2 400 casualties in the fist 2 hours. The movie also showed the other
four beaches but it didn t focus on them as much as Omaha beach, and the air drop.
12000 aircraft supported the land invasion force, the plan was to divide the German forces, to
ease the landing on the beaches. The paratroops were suppose to be dropped off in a small aria
between the city, which was occupied by Germans, and the swamp aria, which was purposely
flooded by the Germans, and flank them. The movie did an amazing job in reproducing this
event. Due to the bad weather the man got scattered all over the place, people fell into wells,
landed in trees, fell through the roofs, and many had drowned in the swamp. One part of the movie
shows an English solder landing in a courtyard full of German solders. He was immediately
apprehended and taken to German

Boxing Should Not be Banned Essay
Boxing Should Not be Banned In recent years, there have been many campaigns to try and have
boxing banned. Those in favour of banning boxingargue that it is dangerous, potentially life
threatening and generally unsafe. It can also be argued that it is immoral to give someone money
for fighting with someone else. Those who are against boxing being banned argue that it is no more
dangerous than other sports. In this essay, I will critically examine each of these arguments and
demonstrate to the reader that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All boxers obviously believe that the benefits of the ancient sport outweigh its negative side. This
is shown in their enthusiasm to take potentially high risks in order to gain the rewards of winning.
Like all sports, there is an element of danger involved however we have the freedom to decide
whether or not to take part in it.
One of the main arguments for boxing being banned is that serious medical injury can result
from boxing due to continuous blows to the head. In boxing when the head is knocked
sideways, the brain swirls in the skull, its layers shearing and sliding off one another, tearing
vital nerve fibres . Statistics show that 15 20% of boxers ending a professional career develop
the punch drunk syndrome . This syndrome consists of the brain weakening, loss of memory,
slowed speech and difficulty in walking. Also boxing can effect the time of death. A
professional boxer dies around 10 15 years earlier than the average life expectancy. People argue
that a sport, which can result in players suffering from brain damage and cerebral ischemia ( a
disruption of blood supply to an area of the brain ) should be banned straight away because of the
life threatening risks involved

all starts with one man Named Shiro Ishii an extremely bright young mind who had his life all
planned out and worked for the military but disappointed with the ban of chemical warfare and
from then on was adamant about building chemical weapons to aid his country. He then started

day blood would be taken from all prisoners and when they were to weak they were all given the
fate of vivisection. Infections were so bad that people s limbs were rotting because of necrosis
and that prisoners were hanged upside down to how long it takes for a person to

limbs were amputated and often reattached to other parts of the body, others were exposed to
lethal doses of x ray radiation and people were injected with horse urine in their stomach causing
numerous infections. And probably the worst one is vivisection on infant and children and when
women were pregnant by the guards by rape they vivisected them and often you could see the

Critical Analysis Of The Film A Few Good Men
There is a numerus amount of literature showing the differences between the normal US citizens
and military personnel, however most of this research is in the medical field and the way that
military personnel are treated medically. In this literature review and final paper the topic will be
still on that of a barrier between these two groups of people but more in the treatment and
adherence to laws. By looking at literature directly involved with the film A Few Good Men and
with topics surrounding the themes of the film I am able to show the barrierbetween the militaryand
the everyday citizens. In the five articles addressed, there are multiple major themes or ideas that
help us to understand the differences, or lack there or, between the different sides. I intend to use
ideological criticism and cluster criticism in order to analyze the film A Few Good Men, but
before this it is important to understand what these two methods are, and how they are able to
work together to show the differences between the people of the military and the people of the
country they fight for. In the description of these methods I will show the origin of the methods,
some assumption and a relevant definition of each to gain understanding. By understanding the
methods I will then look at how they are actually used and how that will help my analysis in the
long run. Finally I will describe why my methods are important and why they are relevant to this
study, not only this but it is

The Conceptual Framework For Remedies
First, the conceptual framework for remedies in the two systems is fundamentally different. In
Investor state state entities and treaty obligations are involved. But, again, the model is plainly one
of corrective justice. Whereas the goal of the WTO system is to liberalize trade flows and thereby
achieve systemic efficiency and welfare gains, investment protection treaties are concerned with the
protection and promotion of foreign investment. As one commentator put it, the traditional
investment regime is about fairness grounded in customary rules on treatment of aliens, not
efficiency. It is about protection, not liberalization, and about individual rights, not state exchanges
of market opportunities.
The primary relief in the WTO is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples of non pecuniary relief are particularly rare in investor state arbitration. In the vast
majority of cases, investors request damages, as opposed to non pecuniary relief. This preference
for damages often reflects practical considerations, such as the difficulty of obtaining restitution of
property that has already been liquidated. Moreover, the filing of an investor state arbitration often
signals the end of the relationship between the parties; investors may fear that they can no longer
operate in what is perceived to be a hostile environment. In many cases, restoring the status quo
ante by ordering a State to rescind a tax regulation or restore confiscated property may be of little
use.
Non pecuniary awards against States may also face enforcement difficulties. The State s court
system may be unwilling or unable to enforce an award of specific performance or restitution
against its own government. Moreover, whereas the Washington Convention requires all contracting
members to enforce the pecuniary obligations of ICSID awards as they would domestic court
decisions, this obligation does not apply to non pecuniary awards.
These practical concerns are often allied with more theoretical concerns for state sovereignty.
Although several tribunals have affirmed the authority of

The owner uses this judgment as an example for his management s behavior, that they must follow
the existing laws of the employees rights to unionize, and understand that no one is over the law.
Final Analysis: The fact that the business management s are in opposition to unionization for a long
time is measured as a disincentive to the expansion of private sector unions. Normally, the
challenges of impeding unions of starting organizing, consist of carrots and sticks accessible to
employees of the company. Sticks on hand of the management to impede possible unionization
efforts, consisting of captive meetings of verbal communication by administrators, persecution of
potential union influential employees, lay of the union leaders, and failing to bargain honestly over
primary agreements. Carrots offered to employees as an ingredient of the effort to stop organizing
forces from happening, including a salary increase, employee participation programs, and
supplementary category of monetary contribution in the earnings of the company. Likewise, unions
provide to the workforce a representation in government and on the collective policy matter, with
the purpose of more elevated causes than its unhelpful effects on the provision of wealth of the
members. The unions fight for public policy concerns from social security reform to health and
safety, encompass a

Deregulation of the Airline Industry
Deregulation of the Airline Industry
The airline industry has been subject of intense price competition since it was deregulated, and the
result has been a number of new carriers which specialize in regional service and no frills
operations. These carriers typically purchase older aircraft and often operate outside the industry
wide computerized reservations system. In exchange for these inconveniences, passengers receive
low fares relative to the industry as a whole. This research examines two low fare air carriers,
ValuJet and Southwest Airlines. By investigating these air carriers, we can better understand the
economic impacts of price versus service in the airline industry as a whole, as well as, the impacts

Because Southwest s flights are generally an hour or less in length, the airline saves money by not
having to serve meals. It has a liberal work rule arrangement with its unions, so productivity is
high, and overall costs are low.
For example, Southwest gets 672 hours per year on average from pilots versus 371 for American
Airlines pilots, and 60 percent more passenger miles per flight attendant (Levinson, 1993, p. 34).
These figures enable the company to realize profits during years in which the industry as a whole
was suffering. The following chart identifies key operating statistics for Southwest (seat miles are
in billions, cost factors are in cents) (Klein, 1996, p. 2077):

The Scandal Of Healthsouth Corporation Scandal
Introduction Organizational misconduct is the chief cause behind corporate accounting scandals.
The trusted executives of the corporation participation in actions during a scandal are corrupt,
unethical, and illegal. In the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is
typically the government agency that investigates such scandals. One of the most notorious
corporate accounting scandalsin the United States is the HealthSouth Corporation scandal of 2003.
HealthSouth Corporation is one of the United States largest healthcare providers with locations
nationwide. A deeper inspection of the HealthSouth scandal is needed to understand how it
transpired by assessing how it was executed, the accounting issues and root of the issue, how it was
exposed, the results to the company and its main contributor, and ramifications as an outcome of
the scandal.
Scandal Overview In 1984, Richard Scrushy founded HealthSouth in Birmingham, Alabama.
Scrushy was the company s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) when the company went
public in 1986. HealthSouth grew quickly over the next several years. Shortly after HealthSouth
went public, it is alleged that Scrushy instructed senior staff to materially inflate the company s
earnings to match expectations. In 2002, the first sign of troubles occurred when Scrushy sold $75
million of HealthSouth stock days before HealthSouth announced a large loss. After this the SEC
began to investigate if any insider trading laws had

Optomatologist Personal Statement
During my high school career, I became fascinated with the workings and functions of our eyes
while attending an internship at an ophthalmologist s office. Through my time there I was fortunate
to be able to shadow and assist both the ophthalmologists and optometrists. While taking corneal
topographies of patients eyes before they were examined, my interest continued to grow and that
interest blossomed into a desire to pursue this as a career when I had the opportunity to witness my
first eyesurgery. Though the pterygiectomy was a simple procedure, I was inspired by the fact that
it could allow the patient to see better, changing their life.
Predictably, this interest led me to work at an optometrist s office, and during the years I have ...

I started to attend many nutrition classes, gaining valuable knowledge about the correlations
between diet and nutrition and various nutrition related eye conditions. To gain more hands on
experience in this area, I began working at the USDA. Through one of the many research projects
I worked on, I was able to determine that children are increasingly more prone to adult diseases
affecting general optical health at an earlier age. Research indicates that this is largely due to the
overall increase in both sodium and sugar intake, in children, and that nutrition is extremely
important in overall eye health.
Through all of these experiences, the most important thing I have learned is that there is so much
more to learn. With continued research the science is constantly growing, with more information
uncovered all the time. For instance, I recently attended a presentation by an ophthalmologist, Dr.
Rosenfarb, about eye disease and acupuncture. I learned how the eyes related to the qi and all of
the organs in our bodies. Though the science is still being researched, the implications of oriental
medicine and naturopathy on the fields of optometry and ophthalmology have become of particular

Skeletal System Informative Speech Have you ever wondered whats in your body? well i m here to tell you about the skeletal system that every human being haves, and if you don t have one something is wrong which i highly doubt if thats true. The skeletal system is a very important part of our body ,it helps us move through the day. Without that we wouldn t be here because without that our body would shutdown and we would become weak. The skeletal system haves 6 primary functions. which includes support, protection, movement, mineral homeostasis, blood cell protection, and storage. All of these functions are a big part of our body and are helping us out even if we don t know they are. The support function provides structural support for the entire body. The mineral homeostasis stores calcium and phosphorus. The blood cell production is the red bone marrow which produces red and white blood cells and other elements. My favorite function is protection because it provides soft tissue around the heart, lungs, ribs, and most importantly the brain. Another one of my favorites is movement , because i like to move and i m a really busy person and just cant stay still. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Violence in Sports Unfortunately, violence has become a part of everyday life in our world. It can be witnessed in many forms and of different proportions in numerous situations. Never, under any circumstances is violence good. When one thinks of violence, thoughts may arise of war, people committing violent acts against others, domestic violencewithin families, and not to mention the abundance of television shows and movies that are packed with sadistic, yet entertaining violence of all sorts. Over the past couple of decades there has been an increased concern regarding the spread of violence throughout our realm and in our homes. However, one area in which violence has had such heavy influence is within sports. To analyze violence in sports, one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Last season Todd Bertuzzi of the Vancouver Canucks dropped Colorado Avalanche rookie Steve Moore from behind causing Moore to suffer three broken vertebrae in his neck and a concussion. Some say that hockey actually made Bertuzzi do what he did. Though Bertuzzi acted out of rage, it was really nothing more than what hockey taught him and literally hundreds of thousands of kids to do over the past fifty years. I have played hockey for well over half of my life and I know this to be true; it is the nature of the sport. Violence is conditioned into all of us in different ways and to different degrees. Those who say Hockey made Bertuzzi do it, do have a point. It is the same in the streets and households across the country. If a child is constantly faced with violence in their home, they will no doubt grow up to be more violent than the child who did not experience such living. This goes for anyone and in all areas of life. Violence is a vicious cycle and is very close to impossible to stop or even cut down. The more one is conditioned to violence, the more violent a person they will become. How does one justify violence in the sports we have come to love? One of the most interesting aspects of sports violence is that which is committed by the fan. Not only is violence committed by athletes, but at times sport fans can get so caught up and emotionally charged by rooting for their home team and things end up getting out of hand. The best examples of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meta Description: In this post we will look at an alternative way for Instagram Unfollow Tracker as Insta doesn t provide any direct method. Every business running on Instagram wants more followers. They implement many tactics to entice new users. However, it is equally important to retain your existing followers. Repaying gratitude to your existing followers is as mandatory as targeting new users. The best example ahead you regarding this is Facebook s trending Custom Audience feature. You can contact those users who left your account to win them back as your valuable followers. But this all is possible only when you get an access to recognize which user has exactly left your account. That s why Instagram Unfollow tracker is important. The most basic way to check who has unfollowed you is to manually check profiles of each user and examine if he/she is still following you or not. This surely takes much time to get completed and obviously could make anybody insane. That s why you have to take assistance from an external source. But why Insta does not Provide any notifications to its users for the same? Though, Insta has not declared any reason precisely but as per my assumption, it s one of the Insta s ways for sentiment consolation. Where it does not notify you about who has unfollowed you, it also does not notify others that you have unfollowed them, providing users the more flexibility to unfollow each other. As following back is among a distinctive tenets of social networking sites. The only fundamental fact is, Instagram s new set of rules for third party app interventions do not allow any application to integrate this feature. • 7. The Bungalow Craze in the US The Bungalow Craze The bungalow style was a major influence in the drastic change of American society and how people lived. It influenced a major shift in gender role of women in society, creating easier housekeeping techniques and greater employment and career opportunities for women by confronting economic and social issues in society using domestic architecture. The simpler home design expressed many tensions of Progressivism in attempting to solve social issues of the time. The transformation brought about new ideas as well as fears that had to be confronted. The spread of factories from the industrial age left anxiety concerning the loss of independence and masculinity. The middle class population was becoming salaried workers, loosing economic and moral independence. The Progressive Era had created a deep desire to reshape institutions and values as well as faith to reform the people. At the same time, the Arts and Crafts Movement grew in response to the spread of factories. It drew inspiration from John Rustic, an Oxford artist, who believed that machines were robbing people of the creativity and pleasure of work situations. The bungalow design was influenced by a variety of social and economic trends that expanded the middle class and became a powerful means of transformation in American society. Arts and Crafts promoters associated the bungalow design with creative manual work, independence, and a way to return to manhood of common work practices. The bungalow ... • 8. Explain How To Determine A Cat s Age How to Determine a Cat s Age According to The American Veterinary Medical Association market statistics there are approximately 82 million domesticated cats populating American households. A cat can make a loving pet, but expect to make a commitment to care for them for up to fifteen years. There are several factors that are used to establish a cat s age and life expectancy. On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for a male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. An outdoor, household cat has a life span of almost ten years. Alternatively, a feral cat s lifespan is estimated to be only 3 4 years. A feral cat is a wild, undomesticated cat that lives outside and depends on its own devices for food, shelter, and protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An adult cat s coat will become coarser and thicker, and color may change from dark to light or vice versa. A cat s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are spayed or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have tragic deaths caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals and diseases. Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add years to their life. Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases and can lead to early detection of health conditions. At one time, it was thought that a cat ages seven human years for each calendar year. This has been proven a misconception. A cat ages quickly the first two years of life and then age progresses slower in the years after. At one year of age, a cat is approximately 15 years old in human years. By the age of two, it has aged to 24 human years. Each of the following years the cat ages approximately four human years; therefore a five year old feline is equal to 36 years ... I do not consider myself a natural athlete; I have had to work very hard to earn every achievement in lacrosse. For the past six years, I have continued to set my aspirations higher and increase my effort to achieve my goals. I have applied what I have learned from lacrosseto many other aspects of my life: I am now an A level student at one of the most academically rigorous high schools in the country, I am an active participant and in my school s rock band, acapella group, and jazz band, and I am a committed member of my school s wrestling team. While my family and I fought hard to convince them to keep the team, we ended up needing to seek out an alternative solution. I contacted most of the coaches and athletic directors at New York City private schools acting if I could practice with their squad. Trinity High School, my current high school, offered me the opportunity to practice with them. Had the tree not fallen, one of the men would have shot the other, totally changing the final conflict, the ending of the story and the character change that each man made. 5. Point of View explain the point of view from which The Interlopers is told. The story is told in the limited omniscient point of view. Saki tells the story in third person, but from the viewpoint of von Gradwitz, looking at events through his eyes. We know everything that goes on in the mind of von Gradwitz, but nothing about what Znaeym is feeling or thinking unless, of course, he expresses his feelings in some way. While we can observe the external actions of both characters, we see into von Gradwitz s mind. Our consciousness is limited to von Gradwitz, as we see events from his viewpoint only. 6. Title Who are the interlopers in the story? In what way are they interlopers? The wolves are the interlopers. An interloper is an intruder, or one who interferes. The wolves intrude, interfere, on the truce made by the men. Unless a miracle occurs in the minds of the hunters who find the heads of the two families dead, the truce will have died with the two men, and the three generation old feud may continue to thrive for many more generations. 7. • 11. My New House Essay As soon as I walked into the front doors of my new house I knew this wasn t my old house. It was like walking into my grandma s house which was like a thousand years old. I definitely liked my old house better. Speaking of my old house, it was like my dream house. It was like I was in my very own world and I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted on that farmland back in Tennessee. Now this stinky dump in Cleveland is nothing like our city in Tennessee. I walked up the old creaky stairs and at the top to the right was my room. As soon as I walked into my room I could not say a word, it was the ugliest room ever, but I knew I had to make it work. Oh I miss those days back at our farm in Tennessee. At home I was always stressed because of school but at the farm it gave me something to do and to take my mind off school. The farm was so fun I got to do whatever I wanted to do,like run throw the corn mazes, take care of the chickens, make sure all the plants had water, play with the gotes, ride horses, there was so many things to do at the farm that you could never get bored. My favorite thing to do was plant different types of vegetables and fruitand watch the plants grow. I truly missed the farm, and all I could think about was the farm and how much fun I had there and how I lived there my whole childhood. The next morning I woke up to the sound of fire truck siren, I guess in the city of Cleveland you will always hear them or anything loud at 6:00 in the morning. I truly thought that this was the jumpiest and loudest city ever, well at least in this part of Cleveland. I stay in my room the rest of the morning trying to figure out how to make my room feel like home. All of a sudden I hear loud screaming from down stairs. We would have never had to move here if you re stupid crops did not die my mom said. The move was really hard on my mom she loved ohio and loved her job,but my mom and dad were not making much money. Then I heard louder screaming, It is not just all my fault you could have got a better job, my dad says. Then I hear screaming even louder how could you say that, you knew I loved my job! • 12. The Role Of Women In The Bell Jar By Sylvia Plath Madelyn Hawthorne October 11, 2017 Essay #1 In The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath there were many prominent female characters that Esther came into contact with that had an affect on her life. The individual women all behaved quite differently and gave Esther a different, and at times confusing, sense of what it was to be a woman. They spanned from Doreen, the sensual and experienced friend who had little concern with conforming to rules, to Mrs. Willard, the stereotypical housewife who willingly became a floormat to be walked all over by her husband. Throughout the novel, Esther compared herself to these different women and often found that she didn t fit in with any of them. She felt as if she must become a certain type of woman but wasn t attracted to the lifestyles of any of the women that she met, making it hard for her to find her own identity. The restrictions that were placed on Esther as a woman and the ways in which she was expected to conform to society fueled her depression and made it hard for her to discover and accept her identity. The novel began with the reader being introduced to Doreen which was interesting seeing as though she was on one of the far ends of the spectrum of women that Esther met. Through Doreen s experience Esther was able to discover her own inexperience. Doreen was sensual and had no regards for the fact that during the time women were supposed to be pure. This fascinated Esther and she began to wonder if what she had known her whole life had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Analysis Of James Joyce s Araby In the short story Araby, James Joyce provides the audience with a glimpse if 19th century Ireland seen through the eyes of an adolescent young man. It is this adolescence and the navies of the world that is under attack. Joyce masterfully reveals an innocence held by Araby by contrasting it with a setting filled with symbology that eludes to the hopeless reality in which he lives. Joyce injects a sense of unrealized bleakness for the protagonist by the imagery that he puts forth. North Richmond street, being blind was a quiet street except for the hour... (Joyce 200), immediately sets the atmosphere as one that is almost desolate, with iron gray clouds heavy with grief for the people below. The with the ending phrase, except for the hour (Joyce 200), reinforces this feeling. • 15. Doctor Assisted Suicide And Suicide Doctor assisted suicide is a topic that has recently become a much larger debated issue than before. A timeline put together by Michael Manning and Ian Dowbigging shows that prior to Christianity, doctor assisted suicide was something that was tolerated, and was not heavily questioned (2). Yet, in the 13th century, Thomas Aquinas had made a statement about suicideas well as doctor assisted suicide, and his words shaped the Catholic teaching on suicide into what they teach today. Beginning in the 17th century, Common Law tradition frowned upon suicide, as well as assisting in suicide, and the colonies had adopted the Common Law principles. (2) In 1828, New York passed a law completely outlawing the assistance of suicide, and made it to where whomever assisted in the suicide could be tried for murder. In 1976, California became the first state to allow patients to withdrawal themselves from life saving medicines, and this Natural DeathAct was seen as a gateway to assisted suicide. (3 7) As controversy about California s Natural Death Act increased, Pope John Paul II released a statement in 1980 which opposed to killing someone out of mercy, but allowed the increased use of painkillers (8). Although, in 1994 Oregon passed their Death with Dignity act, and with it came incredible amounts of backlash. Yet, in 2008 Washington state passed the same act to legalize doctor assisted suicide. The Evolution Of Modern Cattle Breeding INTRODUCTION: Modern cattle breeding increasingly involves the widespread use of advanced reproductive technologies, including artificial insemination (AI) and multiple ovulation embryo transfer (MOET), frequently with the germplasm of elite international sires and dams selected through individual and progeny performance recording schemes. These technologies facilitate the rapid worldwide multiplication of offspring from elite animals to assist the propagation of genes that improve milk yield, meat production and other desirable traits. However rapid propagation of desirable genes is accompanied by simultaneous propagation of genetic mutations that may results in production losses and animal welfare problems, such as Citrullinaemia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Incidence of heterozygotes for citrullinemia has been estimated at less than 0.5% among U.S. Holsteins cattle. Harper and co workers have reported citrullinemia in the Friesian cattle breed (Friesian are a breed of dairy cattle identical to the Holstein breed commonly used in the United States) in Australia. Bovine citrullinemia was not a useful marker for milk, fat and protein production because 1) the frequency of the defective allele was low and 2) within family differences was non significant between normal and heterozygous half sisters (Roger, 1998). Pathogenesis: Citrullinemia is an inborn error of metabolism due to a deficiency of the urea cycle enzyme argininosuccinate synthetase. The affected animals have liver AS mRNA levels at less than 5% of controls due to a single base pair mutation (Dennis, 1989). This metabolic disorder was first identified in humans and later in dogs and Friesian calves (Odalys, 2009). The genetic disorder results in a deficiency in arginino succinate synthetase, leading to enzymatic disruption of the urea cycle. Argininosuccinate synthetase (ASS, EC 6.3.4.5) is a urea cycle enzyme which is expressed at high levels in the liver. The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of citrulline, aspartate, and ATP to yield argininosuccinate, the immediate precursor of arginine (Husson, 2003). The mutation responsible for citrullinemia has been characterized as a single base substitution (C T) in exon 5 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. The Theme Of Environmentalism In Frank Herbert s Dune In undoubtedly one of the grandest science fiction epics of all time, Frank Herbert s Dune focuses on a stunning blend of politics, environmentalism, adventure, and mysticism. Recipient of the Nebula Award and Hugo Award, Dune explores the effects of a changing global climate most prominently. The role of science fictionisn t so much to predict the future, rather than to astound the audience with its possible leading avenues. Dunehas a sparse ecosystem and Herbert explores for instance how the limitation of water would transform the planetary ecology and possible sustenance for human life. Thus Dune, stands as an early example that explores environmentalism and ecology, effectively communicating these novel ideas in the 1960 s to a new and young audience and generation. Herbert focuses on the untapped human potential of transcending the primary state of living conditions, however with a plethora of limitations and consequences. Particularly interesting, the novel as a whole serves as an allegory for the dangers of environmental shortages and damages. Although some may presume the novel Dune as confusing archaic misfit for a science fiction novel, these romantic critics are often too dogmatic in their provincial ideologies. Several warnings are presented throughout the course of the novel on ancient dangers such as the greed of mercantile corporations, the intertwined complications of religion and politics, conflicts of feudalism, and most prominently ecological fragility. ... Creativity, popular, and masterful technique is important because it allows us to exclude plagiarism, biased art, and sloppy. First, art can be creative but not plagiarised because then is is not original or unique meaning it is not creative. Next, art can be popular but not biased on a small group. Finally, art can also have masterful technique but cannot be sloppy. With all of this in mind, an evaluation of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh will show that it is a piece of art. A closer look at creativity indicates that it is present in painting. For example, going back to what I said in the previous paragraph on how the painting is unique because it is easily recognizable; this also makes it creative. He matures through the love of Aunt Polly, Becky, Huck and other characters in the novel. In his search for treasure, Tom learns about personal accountability. Even in everyday life, we watch him develop from a boyinto an adult. From a selfish young, mischievous lad, Tom becomes a sincere, kind and responsible young man. Before we continue, we should discuss what maturity is. According to Wikipedia, the definition of maturity is a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate and adaptive manner. This response is generally learned rather than instinctual, and is not determined by one s age. Maturity also encompasses awareness of the correct time and place to behave, knowing when to act with appropriate emotion for the situation. Maturity incorporates personal accountability, meaning you take ownership of situations you are involved in. By following one s conscience, you are taking personal accountability. During the adventures of Huck and Tom s treasure hunting, the two came across the antagonist, Injun Joe. Earlier, Huck and Tom witnessed Injun Joe murder a doctor and put the blame on an innocent man. The two juvenile boys had made a vow that neither of them would tell anyone since they were scared that Injun Joe would come after them. This shows fear that most people would experience in this situation. Knowing that an innocent man will be punished for an act he did not commit, Tom s conscience convinced him to testify against Injun Joe, freeing a guiltless man. Critics... view incidents such as Tom s encounters with Injun Joe...as confrontations between innocence and evil which initiate Tom into the world of adult responsibilities and consequences. • 25. The Effect Of Hyperglycemia On The Brain It has been long recognized that children with diabetes mellitus onset before age 5 yr have permanent neurocognitive dysfunction more commonly than aged matched or sibling peers . A recent study showed that children with diabetes onset before age 7 yr had reduced intellectual performance and mild central brain atrophy in adulthood when compared with individuals with similar duration of diabetes but later onset . Because both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia occur in young children with type 1 diabetes, it is unlikely that hypoglycemia is the primary cause of this recognized but little publicized reduction in cognitive function associated with childhood type 1 diabetes in children. Hyperglycemia is known to adversely affect peripheral nerve structure and function in younger (3 6 months) but not in older rats. Taking a Look at Mangroves 1.0 Introduction A mangrove is a tree, shrub, palm or ground fern, generally exceeding one and a half metres in height, which normally grows above mean sea level in the intertidal zone of marine coastal environments and estuarine margins. A mangrove is also the tidal habitat comprising such trees and shrubs (Mangroves defined, n.d.). To survive in an intertidal environment, they must be able to tolerate a broad range of salinity, temperatures and moisture levels. In an environment with such low oxygen levels, different species of mangroves use different adaptations in an effort to get as much oxygen as possible. Different species of mangroves gather oxygen in different ways, some use roots that protrude from the ground called peg roots, these peg roots, which are covered in lenticels, can reach up to 30cm in height and allow the plant to exchange gas, as an extension of the roots, which run through the ground, this allows the plant to absorb nutrients from the soil as well, which is a common adaptation in all species of mangroves. Other species are raised from the ground on stilt roots that gather oxygen in the upper reaches of the roots, and then descend into the ground. Slit roots are similar to knee root, except knee root first grow into the ground and then breach the surface to collect oxygen (Marine Education Society of Australiasia , n.d.). • 33. IFDM Communication Systems OFDM is a great technique to handle impairments of wireless communication channels such as multipath propagation. Hence, OFDM is a practical candidate for future 4G wireless communications techniques [1] [4]. On the other hand, one of the major drawbacks of the OFDM communication system is the drift in reference carrier. The offset present in received carrier will lose orthogonality among the carriers. Hence, the CFO causes a reduction of desired signal amplitude in the output decision variable and introduces ICI. Then it brings up an increase of BER. The effect caused by CFO for OFDMsystem was analyzed in [7] [9]. In [7] BER upper bound of OFDM system is analyzed without ICI self cancellation and BER of OFDM system is analyzed using self cancellation, but this method is less accurate. In [9], it is indicated that CFO should be less than 2% of the bandwidth of the sub channel to guarantee the signal to interference ratio to be higher than 30 dB. A critically sampled OFDM system/OQAM system is also not robust to CFO [9], even when optimal pulses are used as shaping filters. Thus, carrier frequency offset greatly degrades system performance. Therefore, practical OFDM systems need the CFO to be compensated with sufficient accuracy, and this has led to a whole lot of literature on CFO estimation algorithms. Most of the existing CFO estimators for OFDM are based on periodically transmitted pilot symbols. Yet, the pilot symbols transmission loses a significant bandwidth, ... This model highlights three stages of transition that we all go through as we experience change. One is Ending, Losing and Letting Go that begin as the initial stage of transition when people are presented with a change. This is an uncomfortable stage as people are forced to give up something that is familiar to them. It is common to experience many types of emotion in this stage such as fear, denial, and anger. As an infant and toddler, I don t think that I fell under one temperament category. I spent my infancy and toddler years in a village in the mountains of Mexico. In consequence, I had to deal with poverty, lack of resources, and the absence of my mother for most of those years. For those reasons, I believe that I probably had characteristics from of the temperament categories. My mother had told me that as an infant if she couldn t find anyone to watch me, she would take me with her to the fields and leave me at the end of her rows and check on me when she made her way back. Hearing these kinds of stories makes me believe that I had to adapt and overcome many different situations depending on my environment at that time. I can compare this to the goodness of fit theory mentioned in the book on page 189. As an adolescent, I went through some traumas and I would describe myself to be more of a difficult type of temperament. 2.How stable has your temperament been over the course of your development (Do you believe that your personality today is similar to your temperament as a child)? Jonbenet Ramsey was murdered in 1996 on December 26 and was later found by her Father John Ramsey in the basement of her home in Boulder, Colorado. To this day her death remains unsolved with several fascinating theories encompassing her murder and the events leading up to it. The mystery behind child beauty queen Jonbenet Ramseys murder can be summed up into two theories connecting her parents to the crime or one of Johns coworkers. The investigation into the murder of Jonbenet Ramsey was marred from the outset by such police errors as allowing Ramsey family and friends to contaminate the crime scene before securing the area, allowing her father to search the house unaccompanied by police, and letting family members remove items from the home before the investigation was completed. This case highlights the need for proper crime scene management (Katz 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Investigators suspect that the murder was unintentional. The killer supposedly had intimate knowledge of the house. The most enticing theory is that Jonbonets father John Ramsey and Jonbonets mother Patricia Ramsey committed the crime. The theory is that Patricia caught John sexually assaulting their daughter and when trying to hit him over the head with a flashlight she accidently hit Jonbenet instead this would explain why the couple would need to lie for each other and try to cover up the murder together. There has been assumption that Jonbenet was killed in the basement. Her body was very clearly moved. She had been placed in her favorite blanket in a dryer that was near her room. • 37. Physician Assisted Suicide Is A Controversial Topic One may have heard of suicide, but not physician assisted suicide. The two are very different in terms of the act of taking one s own life. For instance, physician assisted suicide is done with help from another person, usually a physician; where the doctor is willing to assist with either the means of how to take one s own life or the actual act itself. This can either be by prescribing lethal doses of drugs to these patients who want to take their own life or by counseling these patients on what drugs they should take. Essentially, it is giving a painless deathto someone who is suffering from an incurable illness (MedicineNet Inc. 2015). Physician assisted suicide is a very controversial topic. Many people feel very strongly about letting people have free will and others feel very strongly about showing these people compassion instead of the help of ending their life (Cable News Network (CNN) 2015). Currently the United States has three states that legalized physician assisted suicide. These three states include Oregon, Washington, and Vermont (Cable News Network (CNN) 2015). All three of these states allow a competent adult who has a terminal illness to choose to end their life with the help of a physician (Death with Dignirty National Center 2015). Especially if the said man is Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, who possesses a sharp tongue and is quick witted. One brave soul who spoke to the seemingly mad Hamlet was the ever oblivious Polonius. Hamlet s grand scheme is to make himself appear mad to those in the court as a way to get his revenge on the murder of his beloved father. Polonius, unknowing the plans of Hamlet, theorizes that the Lord Hamlet is mad for the love for his daughter Ophelia. When questioned about his knowledge of who Polonius is, Hamlet replies with him being a fishmonger (II.ii,172). This is a seemingly innocent misunderstanding in job, like Hamlet first believed that he was someone who sold fish when in reality he had a completely different meaning behind it. In actually Hamlet is insulting Polonius. Rather than give a long speech about how Polonius is willing to give up anyone around him to be able to compile all of the rewards for his own self enrichment. Hamlet also makes a propinquity between the maggots in a dead dog and what Ophelia would birth with his ostensibly unrelated remarks about the sun breed maggots in a dead dog and Let her not walk i th sun. Conception is a blessing, but as your daughter may conceive (II.ii 181,184). The amount of energy required depends on many factors including size and weight of the athlete, level and intensity of the training, and due to this the amount of energy required varies from person to person. Again activity requirement is taken into consideration, at 450 calories an hour, and as exact training figures are not available it has been estimated at 6 hours training a week, which then works out as an extra 2700 calories a week. This is shown in their enthusiasm to take potentially high risks in order to gain the rewards of winning. Like all sports, there is an element of danger involved however we have the freedom to decide whether or not to take part in it. One of the main arguments for boxing being banned is that serious medical injury can result from boxing due to continuous blows to the head. In boxing when the head is knocked sideways, the brain swirls in the skull, its layers shearing and sliding off one another, tearing vital nerve fibres . Statistics show that 15 20% of boxers ending a professional career develop the punch drunk syndrome . This syndrome consists of the brain weakening, loss of memory, slowed speech and difficulty in walking. Also boxing can effect the time of death. A professional boxer dies around 10 15 years earlier than the average life expectancy. Moreover, the filing of an investor state arbitration often signals the end of the relationship between the parties; investors may fear that they can no longer operate in what is perceived to be a hostile environment. In many cases, restoring the status quo ante by ordering a State to rescind a tax regulation or restore confiscated property may be of little use.
