Vaccines And Its Effects On Children
Congratulations, you vaccinated your child to protect them, you should feel proud, however, now
they are experiencing trouble breathing. Could they be experiencing adverse reactions from the
vaccines? Today, there are many vaccines, they are in such high demand that even a simple flu has
a vaccine. Vaccines are created to protect us. The main function of vaccines it to build our immune
systemand fight against many bacterias. However, adverse reactions have become severe over the
last couple of years, leaving some parents with no child. Therefore, parents shouldn t be punished
for not vaccinating their children because, vaccines can cause many adverse reactions and death in
children.
Vaccines are a social norm, we are taught that once your child is born they need to get vaccinated.
It is only natural for parents to want to protect their child. So why wouldn t we want to vaccinate
and protect our child? But, what if these shots that are supposed to protect us hurt your child?
Children are facing adverse reactions all over the world. According to the CDC, in the 2015
adverse reactions data file concludes that from September 2 through October 5 there has already
been 23991 adverse reactions reported. However, some of these reported cases can be mild, that
number is still extremely high. Any child can receive an adverse reaction. Every vaccine has side
effects as well. Robert Kennedy, famous in the US politics was one of the few people who smoke
up about vaccines. He

European Werewolf Myth
From Shaman to Demon:
How the Spread of Christianity Shaped the European Werewolf Myth
At the mention of the word werewolf, those familiar with twenty first century literature and
television will often conjure the same iconic image in their minds: an unsuspecting victim of a
wolf bite that develops a deadly silver allergy and undergoes a peculiar transformation every full
moon. The modern myth we have grown to love stems from the medieval picture of a flesh eating
wolf man in league with the Devil, which only barely resembles the werewolf stories of a pre
Christian Europe. With the spread of Christianity in Europe from the early Medieval Period to the
end of the Renaissance, werewolf lore underwent a major transition to better complement ... Show

Where does this tradition come from? In chapter 6 of John in the Bible, Jesus told the apostles, I
am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.
And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh (John 6:51, ESV) and Truly, truly,
I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in
you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the
last day (John 6:53 54, ESV).
This begs the question: if Christians can eat the flesh of other men, why is it so wrong for
werewolves? The answer may lie in the nature of how a werewolf was theorized to obtain his
meals. Proposed by Christians who engage in the tradition of the Eucharist as it was practiced
during the Middle Ages, cannibalism differs from Communion in the detail that while a cannibal
must kill his victim in order to consume his flesh, Jesus does not die when he is consumed during
Communion

Human Resource Policies And Human Resources
Human resources policies are at the heart of every business but when companies deviate from
those policies or create a culture of their own polices that can be a recipe for disaster. Having
strong human resource policies can distinguish companies from the rest and set them out to be the
best but in the case of the following companies human resource policieswe either neglected or
altered and it cost the company more in the end. The nature of business is to make money and the
policies set forth by human resourcesare the ethical guidelines that enable companies to
accomplish that with respect to the financial world that they are involved. I will look into the
policies and see whether they were a sound from the beginning or whether the policies were
doomed from the start. I will see whether the policies had any ethical merits and how this was
overlooked it there was a good foundation. I will look into some problems with human resource
policies then I will go over companies polices that caused a near bankruptcy and a company policy
that caused a complete failure.
The Risky Business of Human Resource Policies The foundation of any business starts with its
policies and if that foundation is not build with strong ethical policies then the business will likely
fail. The human resource department of a company has to maintain polices on how employees
should conduct themselves and some policies encourage growth and strength within the company
and sometime we forget the

Chinese Gunpowder Research Paper
The Chinese developed the first compass as early as the 3rd century B.C.E. The first Chinese
compasses were pieces of a magnetic mineral called lodestone. Earth itself is like a giant magnet
with north and south poles. Because lodestone is magnetic, it is influenced by Earth s magnetic
poles. If you put a piece of lodestone on wood and float it in a bowl of water, the lodestone will
turn until it points in a north south direction.
The Chinese also made sea travel safer by improving boat construction. By the 2nd century C.E.,
they started building ships with separate, watertight compartments. Builders divided the ships into
sections and sealed each section with caulk, a sealant that keeps out water. If there were a leak, it
would be isolated. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One method was to rely on the class of wealthy families. Emperors like Han Wu Di, however,
preferred to choose officials for their merit, or worth. During the Han dynasty, candidates for
government jobs had to prove their knowledge and ability by passing strict tests. As a result, a
class of scholar officials evolved. Under later emperors, this system developed into a rule by
officials of proven merit. In the 13th century C.E., a nomadic people called the Mongols built a

Reality And Malthus Predictions Of Population
Reality and Malthus Predictions of Population
Imagine if Earth s population was so large that all of the world s resources had to be exhausted to
their last limits just to provide food for only half of the population. That is exactly what 17th
century demographer Thomas Malthus envisioned when he predicted how the world s population
would affect the world s resources. In An Essay on the Principle of Population, published in the late
18th century, Malthus expressed many controversial predictions in which he argued that the
increase of resources was arithmetic while the increase in population was exponential; thus, he
concluded that the population would greatly outpace the amount of resource growth on Earth.
Being that Malthus made his predictions during the industrial revolution (which was when North
America and Europe reached stage two of the demographic transition), many critics of his theory
claim that Malthus calculations were inaccurate because he did not consider technological advances
in relation to food production. Also, Malthus critics believe that he overestimated population
increase (mainly because of the time period he lived in) and (adverb) underestimated the production
rate of resources. Though both sides of the debate are plausible, it is evident that Malthus views
were incorrect because modern day statistics regarding population and food production do not
support his claims. Therefore, because of Malthus uncircumspect approach when he predicted

American Involvement in Ww1
World War I (WWI), which was predominantly called the World War or the Great War from its
occurrence until 1939, and the First World War or World War I thereafter, was a major war
centered in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. It involved all
the world s great powers, which were assembled in two opposing alliances: the Allies (centered on
the Triple Entente of the United Kingdom, France and Russia) and the Central Powers (originally
centered on the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy). These alliances both
reorganized (Italy fought for the Allies), and expanded as more nations entered the war. Ultimately

Anglo French trenches were only intended to be temporary before their forces broke through
German defenses. Both sides tried to break the stalemate using scientific and technological
advances. On 22 April 1915 at the Second Battle of Ypres, the Germans (violating the Hague
Convention) used chlorine gas for the first time on the Western Front. Algerian troops retreated
when gassed and a six kilometer (four mile) hole opened in the Allied lines that the Germans
quickly exploited, taking Kitchener s Wood. Canadian soldiers closed the breach at the Second
Battle of Ypres. At the Third Battle of Ypres, Canadian and ANZAC troops took the village of
Passchendaele. At the start of the war, the German Empire had cruisers scattered across the globe,
some of which were subsequently used to attack Allied merchant shipping. The British Royal Navy
systematically hunted them down, though not without some embarrassment from its inability to
protect Allied shipping. For example, the German detached light cruiser SMS Emden, part of the
East Asia squadron stationed at Tsingtao, seized or destroyed 15 merchantmen, as well as sinking a
Russian cruiser and a French destroyer. However, most of the German East Asia squadron
consisting of the armored cruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, light cruisers NГјrnberg and Leipzig

Diabetes Education Curriculum Analysis
When designing an educational class for newly diagnosed diabetics in the community, the
curriculum should incorporate active teaching, learning theories, creativity, fun and experiential
learning. A comprehensive curriculum is fundamental to the education of a well prepared and
clinically effective educator (Neidorf, 2012). This curriculum is consistent with the American
Diabetes Association (ADA) concept of diabetes educationand empower people with diabetes and
healthcare team members in an effort to improve prevention strategies and diabetes outcomes
(2013). In addition, a curriculum can serve as a mechanism to facilitate the delivery of diabetes
education standards, provide for consistent preparation of healthcare team members, and support...

The Japanese Criminal Justice System
For some time now, the Japanese criminal justice system has been regarded or perceived to be a
successful justice system model. The success is mainly attributed to Japan s culture and even
embedded in the language itself (Goold, 2004). The success has drawn interest among criminology
scholars and practitioners either for the purpose of broadening their knowledge or to emulate its
criminal justicesystem (Ebbe, 2000). The interest is based on statistical data that indicate low
levels of criminality in the developed nation of Japan in comparison to others. From these statistics,
it would imply that Japan s way of dealing with crimeis more effective in its prevention. While the
statistic might be solid, the texts on the criminal system may... Show more content on

The benefits of this kind of success are sure to be present and for that matter welcomed. However,
I will also evaluate at what cost that this haven of peace comes about. Clear examples will
accompany any argument and statements as support of a claim.
The history of Japan s criminal justice system is important if one wishes to understand completely
how the system operates and borrow from it. Before the Second World War, Japan was mostly
isolated from the rest of the world except for some trading activities with Portugal. Due to this
Western or rather European, the influence in the country was minimal. Japan was, therefore, able to
retain some of its strong traditional legal systems despite incorporating some aspects from the
French, Chinese, and Americans.
However; after WWII, Japan was forced to adopt the American legal approaches to the constitution
and human rights due to the post war agreement that was signed (Reichel, 2002). The Japanese
however did not abandon their systems all together as they continued to use the informal ways of
conflict resolution through mediation, consensus, and compromise. The formal systems were then
used in combination with these. Aside from the informal procedures used by police and citizens to
resolve disputes, the Japanese system have a highly centralised and organised criminal justice
system (Dammer, Albanese, 2013). To Australian s it resembles something of a familiar system
with two national policing agencies, a hierarchical

Foreshadowing In The Lottery Research Paper
Essay on Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
People think winning the lottery is a good thing. However, in Shirley Jackson s story, The Lottery
the winner gets something very crucial, getting stoned to death. Shirley Jackson uses,
foreshadowing, the attitude of the villagers, and the subtleness of the black box, to provide the
gruesome ending of the story for the reader. Making the story, eerie, serious, and horrifying, the
story takes an unexpected twist; the reader will soon realize that the lottery is not what they thought
it would be. Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones... selecting the smoothest
and roundest stones. (1) What do stones have to do with the lottery? Usually, lottery requires tickets
with numbers on it, but to use stones for the lottery is mysterious. Although, in this lottery the

leaving space between themselves and the stool. When Mr. Summers said, some of you fellows

gastrointestinal tract (Wolf, CDC, Mayo clinic, health direct, NHS choices). Patients suffering from

Though anyone at any age can develop inflammatory bowel disease, the people between the ages
of fifteen and thirty are more likely to get diagnosed with the disease, with about 10% of cases
occurring to individuals younger than eighteen (CDC). People who are direct descendents of
those with inflammatory bowel disease and other gastrointestinal problems are more likely to
develop the disease themselves (CDC, Wolf, Mayo clinic). Though anyone can develop the
disease, inflammatory bowel disease is most common in those with a European and Jewish
descent, who are Caucasian, and those who are White (CDC, Wolf, Mayo clinic). Females are more
likely to develop Crohn s, while males are more likely to develop Crohn s (CDC).
Inflammatory bowel disease is more common in developed countries, with a greater frequency in
urban areas than in rural areas, indicating globalization to be a contributing factor for
inflammatory bowel disease (CDC, Ghosh and Almadi). Australia seems to have one of the
highest incidence rates of the disease in the world with about 33,000 having colitis and 28,000
(health direct). Inflammatory bowel disease is also one of the most prevalent gastrointestinal
disease in the United States with the prevalence of the disease being greater than 200 cases per
100,000 and a total of about one million to 1.5 million people having the disease currently (CDC,

Examples Of Parity Theory
Interest Rate Parity Theory
In the present global financial context, it is difficult for someone to give any idea of what is really
happening without figures and indicators of financial globalization. Among those indicators is the
interest parity theory. John Maynard Keynes made the IRP theory popular in the writing of his
article Tract on Monetary Reforms (1923). This parity theory plays an important role in many
macroeconomic models, being used as a benchmark for perfect capital mobility between markets.
According to the interest rate parity theory, there is no bargain of interest. In other words, what is
gained in the interest rate differential is in lost in the exchange rate. The exchange rate moves to
effectively bring about the interest rate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This implies the equality of returns on comparable financial assets denominated in different
currencies. Covered interest arbitrage is the underlying mechanism for this theory. It refers to the
transfer of liquid funds from one monetary center to another in order to take advantage of higher
rates of return or interest while covering the transaction with a forward currency hedge.
The following are the assumptions of the Covered Interest Rate Parity.
1.There is no official hindrance to arbitrage across countries, that is, there is free capital mobility.
2.No transaction cost is included.
3.There is no default risk which means financial investment is safe against business defaults,
country risks, etc.
The covered interest rate parity theory can be derived as follows:
Consider a world with two currencies, the USD ($) and the GBP (ВЈ), one period interest rates in
the two currencies given by i($,1) and i(ВЈ,1) and spot and one period forward rates in $/ВЈ defined
by St and Ft,1

Examples Of Shakesspearian Tragedy Othello
As with all of Shakespearian Tragedies, Othello starts as an honorable man who turns into a
monster as the story progresses. Othello was a classic and well known example of a
Shakespearian tragedy. Othello was a tragedy because, like Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and many
other of his renowned tragedies, the protagonist suffers from a fatal flaw which leads to their
ultimate and unfortunate downfall. The main character is also usually a person of great power,
wealth, and influence who then falls into absolute chaos, such was that of Othelloin the
Shakespearian tragedy. Another important part of Shakespearian tragedy is the antagonist Iago,
who leads Othello down the dark path and ultimately ruins him. Together these all combine to
make Othello s life a very tragic one and mark Shakespeare s play as a tragedy.
Othello is a true tragic hero, and his demise is caused by his fatal flaw; jealousy. Tragedy depicts
the downfall of a noble hero or heroine, usually through some combination of hubris, fate, and the

Reserve Bank Of Australia Case Study
Describe the main role of the Reserve Bank of Australia and explain how Australia s central bank
uses monetary policy to influence the level of interest rates and economic activity in the economy.
The importance and influence of the Reserve bank of Australia on the Australian economy
Introduction
The Reserve Bank of Australia plays a significant role to Australia s financial market and economy
as the central bank of Australia. The RBA operates in financial markets and presides over Australian
s currency and international reserves. Their key responsibilities and goals are to conduct monetary
policy, stabilising currency and employment rates, and economic welfare inclusive of Australian
society. Monetary policy is defined as the ability of the Reserve Bank to influence interest rates and
the cost of credit . These goals and responsibilities are achieved through the conducting of monetary
policy and open market operations, consequently affecting the economy s interest and therefore,
cash rate. Interest rate is a percentage of the principal amount charged from the lender for the use of

To All Meeting Participants:
This meeting is called to review the VRMC s question and its relation to the Pediatric Manager
Martha McGuire, What does RIGHT look like ?
I m not sure of the past practices and relationships between the manager and the employees and the
manager and the patients and patents families. The Peds manager s behavior I ve witnessed on
Wednesday December 21st, is unacceptable and simply will not be tolerated.
I cared for 5 patients the previous night. As shift change was approaching, 3 of the 5 asked me
who will be the nurses working today. As I provided them with the answer, the replies were
shocking, to me! The parents of the 3 requested that they have another nurse to care for them
instead of Martha. My reply to them was we all aim to provide excellent service. All three parents
had similar responses to why they didn t want Martha as their nurse. This goes to the VRMC s
phrase What does RIGHT look like ?
Do I smile at others in the hallway?
According to these parents, Martha does not. One parent went on to tell me that as they approach
the unit they greeted the nurses at the desk. She stated Martha may not have heard them. She
stated that Martha stated in a very disturbing tone EXCUSE ME, Y ALL COULD SPEAK. I didn
t witness this but it was enough for the parent to request her to not be their caregiver for the day.
Do I project a professional appearance?

THE EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND LEADERSHIP STYLE ON STAFF
COMMITMENT WITHIN SME S IN GHANA WITH JOB SATISFACTION AS A MEDIATOR.
CHAPTER ONE GENERAL INTRODUCTION 1.1 Introduction The outline of this chapter is as
follows: the background of this study is first explained; the justification for and relevance of this
study to SME s in Ghana follows; the underlying key concepts of the research conducted study are
presented as the research problems; the research objectives, research questions and the research
limitations are all elaborated on; and then, the structure of the thesis is outlined. 1.2 Background
In recent years, greater emphasis is placed on the human capital i.e. employees of an organization
since it is this people component of an organization that gives an organization its distinction from
others and enhances its competitive edge (Cohen, 2005; Holland Sheelan and de Cieri, 2007). The
employees of an organization are its driving force and according to Sempane, Rieger and Roodt
(2002), the organization can be competitive when the employees are committed to and involved in
the organization Commitment of employees to an organization cannot be overstated. Raju and
Srivastava (1994) see it as the key factor in an employee organization relationship. Both Saal and
Knight (1987) and Williams and Anderson (1991) agree that an employee who is committed to an
organization will exceed expectations of the job requirements, dedicate more of their time to

her partner, Jessica is under threat of dissolution. Jessica is complaining of Sally s lackadaisical
attitude towards working and behaving like an adult. The latter remarked that everyone expect
much from her and her acceptance based on what I am. Her partner not convinced by her defense

view on methods of decreasing stressful behaviors, behaviorchangetechniques, and working with
job burnout specific to Sally with particular reference to clinical, cultural and diversity factors
will be useful in discussing her experiences. There is no doubt that Sally is experiencing stressful
situation. Her stressful behaviors classified under lifestyle behaviors. This behavior covers
activities which people are engaging and include daily activities: doing domestic chores, going
to work or school, and enjoying leisure activities 9Greenberg, 2013). One of the methods for
decreasing stressful behaviors is by self monitoring. This is a process of observing and
recording of one individual behavior. Sally can be able to monitor her job performance and

William Blake The Lamb Meaning
William Blake s The Lamb is a part of the Songs of Innocence (1789) and was later accompanied
by a larger work, the Songs of Experience (1794). Blake expressed what he believed, and he
wanted to prove his true understanding of Christianity. His audience for his poem understood
Christianity and were familiar with the Bible. The poem establishes the theme of the
vulnerability of innocence and a vision of the speaker. The child s view is limited on account of
unawareness of the total reality of human knowledge. The voice of the poem is formed from a
speaker that seems to be an innocent child, communicating with a lamb who is unable to answer
or respond to the child. The rhyme scheme is similar to that of Dr. Seuss, it is like a nursery
rhyme, and also a riddle. This is one of William s simpler poems, but with a closer analysis it
reveals hidden symbols, meaning, tones, and wordplay.
William Blake writes The Songs of Innocence, so this poem is obviously going to relate to some
kind of innocence. It is revealed in the second stanza when the speaker addresses the lamb as if
it knows who made it, and who gave it all of its features. However, the lamb or child does not
answer, but of course it would not answer. This then causes the speaker to answer his own
questions. Which proves that the lamb is too innocent to answer for itself. Dost thou know who
made thee? /Little Lamb I ll tell thee (10 11). This displays the wordplay in the poem because the
reader asks questions and then

Essay On Multi-Linear Regression
A sample size equaling 50 + 8m is required to do a multi linear regression, where m is the number
of independent variables chosen. At least 3 independent variables can be analyzed (assuming a
moderate effect size) taking males and females separately if an equal number of males and females
are chosen (Green, 1991). Thus the sample size is adequate for a multi linear regression analysis.
Therefore a sample size of 154 stable mentally ill patients is thus both practical and also would be
among the highest sample sizes used yet for such a requirement as this study.

A gas turbine by definition is an engine in the centre of a power plant producing electric current

Chapter 11, Saco and Vanzetti, in After the Fact begins with a story of an armed robbery in a

previous one, of employers going on strike and radicals creating an uprising in the labor
industries. These strikes lead to anarchist bombings lead by Luigi Galleani who was also an
Italian immigrant like Sacco and Vanzetti. These bombs were sent to the houses of Generals,
Supreme Court Justices, members of Congress and mayors. Not during the time of Sacco s and

over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which

Borderline Personality Disorder ( Borderline )
Research Paper: Borderline Personality Disorder Borderline personality disorder is a serious
mental illness that directly affects one s behavior, moods, and relationships/socialization skills.
Borderline personality disorder often is associated with co occurring disorders like depression,
suicidal behaviors, anxiety, abuse of drugs and alcohol, as well as eating disorders. The behavior of
a person diagnosed with borderline is also described to erratic and impulsive. The cause of
borderline personality disorderis still not entirely clear at this point, although trials and studies
suggest that it can be passed down through genetic traits. It is also suggested that one s
environment/upbringing may play a huge factor in the diagnoses as well. Because borderline
personality disorder was not considered a valid diagnosable illness until 1980(by clinical
standard), the illness history is one that is more so rooted in the history of other illnesses ( What
Is Borderline Personality, 2012, Para 1). Prior to its inclusion in the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual for Mental Disorders, borderline was considered to be overlapped with schizophrenia,
non schizophrenic psychoses, and neuroses such as anxiety and depressive disorders. (Friedel,
M.D., 2012, Para. 1). Because it was often associated with so many different illnesses, borderline
was considered to be a throw away diagnoses because it only found purpose when patients did not
fit the mold for other diagnostic requirements.

Ethos Pynchon Conspiracy
Thomas Pynchon s The Crying of Lot 49 employs the interacting tropes of paranoia and
conspiracy to produce an allegory of reading in the form of a mystery quest narrative. A key
question in the text of whether the clues which comprise the Tristero conspiracy are
meaningfully connected posits two possible resolutions which cannot both be true; the
conspiracy and its purpose is revealed and the meaning of the interlinking elements is made
clear, or the conspiracy is false and Oedipa is exposed as paranoid. In either ending closure is
achieved by terminating conspiracy or paranoia in favour of determining one as the most
appropriate interpretation of the text . The narrative s paranoia conspiracy dialectic is developed
through the deferral of the decisive meaning of signs and motifs. The absence of closure arrests the
mystery quest narrative in meaning finding irresolution. By allying the reader with Oedipa, Lot 49
engages the reader in a meaning finding process, demonstrating the mechanics of paranoia to
produce a critique of reading. Lot 49 has a mystery quest plot which frequently uses enigmas as
catalysts for action. The central mystery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Summary Of Perfection Wasted By John Updike
An Explication of John Updike s Perfection Wasted
This poem dramatizes the conflict between losing someone s personality through death and the
magic within our own separate world s. In the poem personality is the most important part of life
because it can t be replicated by any person in the world because every person s personality is
different and unique in its own way. The personality that is shown in the poem is that the speaker
is happy and full of magic. John Updike uses this poem to tell a story through mostly imagery. The
impression I received throughout the entire poem is the cycle of life.
The main theme I have seen in this poem is how one s ways or personality can t be remade by
someone. You can imitate what a person does or how a person acts, but you will never replicate
it one hundred percent. The speaker in this poem talks about how when someone dies their
personality will be lost forever because it cannot be reperformed by someone else, not even the
their closest friends or family members. Imitators and descendants aren t the same. (Line 14) You
can be near someone for twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks in a year
and still not be them exactly. When someone dies, there will be glimpses of them in others that they
have touched through their actions, but you will never fully see them in just one single person. You
work on making the most perfect personality for yourself throughout your whole life just to see that
when you die it dies with you. When you work this hard on something like this you don t want it
to die so you make people happy by using it, you help people by using it, you touch people by
using it, just so that he wouldn t ever be one hundred percent fully forgotten by those you knew,
or those that knew you. All the speaker will have left is the memories that she made with those
that have or will pass on before her, nothing more, nothing less. Memories are the only thing that
others can give us that will stay with us for an eternity, and we will never forget because our
memories are always with us. The best kind of memories that the speaker has is the ones when the
speaker is with another person supporting them in what they love to do. The speaker if this

Essay on Fascism
What is Fascism?
Fascism is a 20th century form of nationalistic, militaristic, totalitarian dictatorship that seeks to
create a feasible society through strict regimentation of national and individual lives. Total
subordination to the service of the state and unquestioning loyalty to its leader would adjust
conflicting interests. It is a modern political ideology that looks to regenerate the social, economic,

identity. Fascism rejects liberal ideas of freedom and individual rights, it often presses for the

Fascist movements set out to create a new type of total culture in which values; politics, art,
social norms and economic activity are all part of a single organic community. In this way
fascism is directly opposed to consevatism. The fascist movements in Italy and Germany also
represented attempts to create revolutionary new modern states. Even though fascist movements
try to bring about revolutionary change, they emphasis the revival of a mythical ethnic, racial or
national past. They revise conventional history to create a vision of an idealised past. The
mythical histories claim that former greatness has been destroyed by such developments as the
mixing of races, the rise of powerful buisness groups and a loss of a shared sense of the nation. A
fascist movement always asserts that the nation faces a profound crisis. The fascists present the
national crisis as resolvable only through a radical political transformation. They claim the nation

their timely action they can save the nation from itself. Fascists promise that with their help the

When the time came to construct the initial plans, I and the three Ryanites from the South, while
we were still defining the parameters of this case, we all had reached a certain conclusion that
must be emphasized: this case cannot be completed alone. By alone , I am referring to only one
crew of RGA members devoted to one specific specialty. Should either you or your compatriots
were to undergo this case with only one crew, I am afraid that your progress will not yield ideal
results, Mr. O Hara. For this reason, the four of us suggested that if this case is ever going to be
success in the long run, there needs to be several different crews pooling together manpower and
resources for the sake of what needs to be done. She continued, Together, the RGA can achieve

The Relationship Between Violent Crime And The Following...
Literature Review
Introduction
This is a non exhaustive literature review of research published between 2006 and 2016. It relies
primarily on peer reviewed literature published within the discipline of sociology, but also draws
upon studies related in other disciplines such as criminology and psychology. The studies in this
literature review focus on violent crime in the U.S. Many studies in this review discuss how some
sociological variables can influence crime for better or for worse. This literature review will discuss
the relationship between violent crime and the following five themes: race, religion, gender, income,
and immigration.
Race
Violent crime has consistently been a significant issue throughout U.S. history, especially between
racial and ethnic groups. As a country, we ve had to deal with violent crime dating back to slavery
in the 1600 s, up unto today with issues such as police brutality against racial and ethnic minorities.
Researchers have found that segregation between races within neighborhoods can have a heavy
influence on violent crime (Hipp 2007; Krivo, Byron, Calder, Peterson, Browning, Kwon, Lee
2014), although not all literature had the same results. Three races that were used throughout the
research were Blacks, Whites, and Latinos. Within racially segregated neighborhoods, those with a
higher percentage of African Americans experience higher rates of violent crime (Hipp 2007). The
same thing can also be said about Latinos. Among racially

The Theme Of Perseverance In Harry Potter And The Goblet...
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by J.K. Rowling, is a story about a young wizard, by the
name of Harry Potter, who faces many challenges throughout his years in the magical school of
Hogwarts. With the help of his friends, Ron and Hermione, Harry was able to conquer Lord
Voldemort s wrath (Evil wizard set on destroying Harry) twice, save many school students from
harm, and even help his newly found godfather Sirius escape from the deatheaters. With all that has
occurred in these past few books, I think that a definite theme in this series is perseverance. I think
that the lesson that the author is trying to show about perseverance, is that sometimes you might be
put into a difficult situation, but it is important to power through and stay... Show more content on

As soon as they arrived in a small graveyard, both confused as to why they hadn t returned to the
main arena, a raspy voice echoed, saying Kill the other , and a blinding flash of green light
struck down Cedric. For a second that contained an eternity, Harry stared into Cedric s face, at
his open gray eyes, blank and expressionless as the windows of a deserted house, at his half open
mouth, which looked slightly surprised. And then, before he could feel anything but numb
disbelief, he felt himself being pulled up to his feet. Harry finally understood why he wasn t
back, he had been deceived and brought to Lord Voldemort himself, but he did not back down.
He did not greet death so swiftly, and fought, meeting Lord Voldemort himself in combat, for
Cedric. As the closest bead of light moved nearer to Harry s wand tip, the wood beneath his
fingers grew so hot he feared it would burst into flame. The closer the bead moved, the harder
Harry s wand vibrated; he was sure his wand would not survive contact with it; it felt as though it
was about to shatter under his fingers. He concentrated every last particle of his mind upon
forcing the bead back toward Voldemort, his ears full of the phoenix song, his eyes furious, fixed...
and slowly, very slowly, the beads quivered to a halt, and then, just as

Buettner How To Be 100 Analysis
In Dan Buettner s How to live to be 100+ TED talk, longevity and three major blue zones around
the world are discussed. The blue zones of the Nuoro Province, Okinawa, and the prairies of
Minnesota are the three focused on in the talk. Their lifestyles are talked about and it is made clear
that there is no secret formula when it comes to longevity. Not every practice of each blue zoneis
touched on because many are societal changes that have been passed down and kept up for years
and take about that long to recreate in other areas. The three major takeaways from this talk as well
as some credible online sources are that fitness, friendships, as it relates to maintaining happiness
and company throughout life, and diet are extremely important... Show more content on

Overall the evidence supports the idea that having friends makes your life happier and helps you
live longer.
Diet
The last major reason Buettner uses in his talk that backs up longevity is a better diet. One
approach to eating better would be to try implementing the MIND diet which consists of
increasing your grain, vegetable, and fish intake, while decreasing the amount of red meats and
sweets consumed. This particular diet focuses on decreasing the risk of Alzheimer s, which is a
major cause of death in those over the age of one hundred (Health.com, 2016). Two approaches
that are more permanent than something like a diet that usually has a start and finish date are to
have smaller portions of food and to stop eating when you are eighty percent full. The way the
Okinawan blue zone has made smaller portions the norm is by eating off of smaller plates as
opposed to our average american size plates. Alongside eating fewer calories, a three thousand year
old adage, Hara, Hatchi, Bu, created by Confucius, reinforces to stop eating when you are eighty
percent full before every meal (Buettner, 2009).

Educational Leadership Styles Paper
The capacity and implementation of various educational leadership styles has been critical to the
organizational and instructional makeup of educational institutions since their inception. Various
types of leadership have developed over the past 60 years and unique trends have emerged in the
pursuit of creating and implementing changes in process and philosophy; specifically, improving
teacher collaboration. Leadershipstyles frequently identified as charismatic, transactional,
transformational, shared/distributed, and self/laissez faire have emerged at the forefront of
educational leadership theory. The role of the administrator (principal) in secondary schools and

positive, and they raise the question of whether empowering leadership might sometimes be
perceived as laissez faire leadership, leading to a less effective leadership perception (Wong

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Martin Luther s On Christian...
Martin Luther wrote On Christian Liberty, as an attempt to avoid conflict with the Church. In it,
he justifies his beliefs, primarily on the importance of placing faith in Christ above works in the
grand scheme of salvation. Throughout the treatise, he address who a Christian should be, the
nature humanity, and the role he believes faith, works, and ceremonies playing in forming a
good Christian. This, in turn, entices the reader to critique and search of his or her self, what it
means to be a good Christian and how to gain salvation. Within the first few pages of On
Christian Liberty, Luther creates a paradox that causes readers to think deeply about their own
role as believers of Christ. In it, he claims that a Christian is: ...a perfectly free lord of all, subject
to none while, at the same time, being a perfectly dutiful servant, subject to all (pg.2). Through
faith, the most important part of a person s salvation, a Christian gains freedom and liberty.
However, a Christian becomes a servant of all through love, subjecting themselves to the needs of
others as Christ did. Luther identifies the two natures of man as the body and the spirit. These two
natures continuously conflict. The body is the flesh or a person s outward nature while the soul
represents the inner person. The bodily nature of humanity has no bearing on the righteousness of
the soul. Luther states that the soul cannot benefit if the body and flesh is well. Regardless of
outward wealth,

The Marble Champ
Never give up. Always keep going. Try hard. Practice makes perfect. The Marble Champ by
Gary Soto is a great story. A girl named Lupe is not good at sports but she finds something
athletic that she could be good at. She found marbles. She practiced until she got so good, she
won the marbles championship. For this matter, I think a possible theme in this story is to never
give, just like Lupe did. A couple reasons why, are because she practices, perseveres, and always
gives 100% effort.
To begin, one reason why a possible theme could be to never give up is Lupe practices. At the
beginning of the story Lupe did fingertip pushups. She did 20 of them in sets of five, so every so
often she could take a break. This seems like a lot to ask from someone who isn t that strong.
She also squeezed a eraser for a long time. From doing this she got so good she beat Alfonso.
Alfonso was a neighborhood kid who was really good at marbles, but Lupe got so good she beat
him! In the story it says, Man, she s bad! Alfonso said. She can beat the other girls for sure. I
think. This was right after Lupe beat Alfonso, and he was one of the best at marbles. Another
reason is Lupe only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Persevere means to keep trying even if you have failed. One example, is that even in marbles
when Lupe missed a shot she didn t let it get her, and make her quit, this shows that she wants to
keep going and continue, not quit. Secondly, she wasn t good at sports. Instead of just thinking she
wouldn t be good at something athletic. She tried. In the story it says, She could not catch a pop
up figure in which direction to kick the soccer ball. Instead, she at least put in effort to try and get
good at something athletic. Finally, In the marble championship Lupe was going up against a girl
that looked tough, but Lupe didn t turn around and walk away. She faced the girl. Lupe shoes a

Brief Analysis Of John Steinbeck s Life And Work
John Ernst Steinbeck Jr. was born on February 27, 1902 in Salinas, California. He was one of
three children, and the only male, born to John Ernst Steinbeck (father) and Olive Hamilton
(mother). Growing up, John s family lived in a small town where he would spend his summer
working on farms and ranches. Working on the farm gave him inspiration to write about the
scenery, and many times, he would write whenever he had free time in the laboratory of
Spreckels Sugar Company. Seeing the migrant workers also gave John an opportunity to see the
hardships and troubles that many go through just to stay in the United States, and he would use
this to create stories later on in life Upon graduating high school, John decided to attend Stanford
University to study English Literature. However, despite his time there, John was unable to earn
a degree and was forced to look for work. New York City was his first destination, but unable to
publish anything there, John moved back to California, where he would meet his first wife, Carol,
while working as a tour guide and caretaker in Lake Tahoe. Eventually, in 1929, John was able to
publish his first novel, Cup Of Gold, and in 1933, his novel Tortilla... Show more content on

Marginalization Of Women Analysis
Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me.
How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It s beyond me. Zora Neale Hurston
The discourse of investigation into marginalization that involves ethnicity, displacement and gender
began in 1980 and 1990. Marginalization of women, struggles of lower castes and economically
backward communities haunted the nation even after decolonization. Therefore we can say
postcolonial works are the documentary commentaries on poverty, caste, gender discrimination and
oppression. Marginalization of women comprising suffering of different sections found its way into
the literary discourse through the Fourth World .
Women novelists across cultures explore women s position which moves from exaltation,
victimization to self assertion. The creative writings of the colonial and postcolonial women
novelists like Kavery Nambisan, portrays Double ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The concept of naritva was stressed by the nationalist like Gandhi nearly fifty years before the
wave of women s emancipation began and grew as dominant, perilous and insurmountable force but
this as usual was suppressed.
After Independence Indian writers focused on the construction of imaginary communities and

Essay On Henry Longfellow
With a heart for any fate,/ Still achieving, still pursuing, (Longfellow, L. 10, L. 11) Longfellow
wrote this line in a way that makes me believe that he truly understood it. Like everyone, Henry
Longfellow has had to face many impeding forces in own life. Longfellow s first wife, Mary
Potter, died in 1835 after only four years of their marriage. Later on, Longfellow s next wife,
Frances Appleton, died of burns. Other struggles plagued him throughout his life as well. It seems
that the poet knew this well enough, nevertheless, most people forget; when terrible things happen,
we must find it within ourselves to get up again and keep going. Sometimes when we lose people

She is one of the strongest people that I know which is why finding her crying one gloomy
morning shook me greatly. Her sorrow was tangible throughout the whole house. I can
remember that even the sky was crying. Gray light filtered in through the water streaked
windows. When I asked her what was wrong she told me that it was the anniversary of her
brother s death. This was the first one after her mother had died. She recounted some of her
favorite memories of them both with a smile on her face even though she was tearful. It didn t
occur to me until many years later that all the family that she had grown up with was gone. I
remember wishing that I could help her but I think that the best way for me to have comforted
her was to just be there for her and to listen so that is what I did. Even though I can only imagine
what my mother must have felt, I can assume that it would have been debilitating for some
people and yet my mother was able to get up again every morning and go to work and go on with
her life. Even now, this event only reinforced my high thoughts of my mother because she is only
one example of how people are always stronger than we think and how we, ourselves, are stronger
than we think. With a heart for any fate,/ Still achieving, still pursuing, (Longfellow, L. 10, L.

Most Common Internet Server Operating Systems

Internet Servers (also commonly known as Web Servers), primarily function to deliver web
pages on request to clients. When a user types a domain name into their browser, or clicks on a
link, the request is first sent to a Domain Name Server (DNS). DNSs are servers that hold
databases full of domain names and IP addresses. When a DNS receives a request, it matches the
domain name (ie, www.CriketX.com) to the IP address of the server that holds all of the files that
make up that particular website and sends that information back to the user s browser. The
browser can then send a request for those files to the IP address of the web server (205.134.224.227

VB development tools as well as Access and MS SQL cannot be run on Linux servers, which is
why Windows servers are a big hit with Microsoft technology fans. When it comes to system
security, Windows web servers are more prone to attacks by hackers, but this also has more to
do with administration than with the fact that it s running Windows (webdevelopersnotes.com).
Also, Linux servers perform better under heavy traffic so, in the case of shared IP hosting
where multiple sites are running on the same IP address, Linux is the better choice over
Windows. Linux also offers more ways to connect. Windows offers FTP access and it s possible
to configure telnet (if your hosting provider allows it) but Linux offers FTP, telnet, and ssh
access. Linux servers are also more likely to offer CGI and Perl access, although some Windows
servers do make it available. Both types of web servers offer server side scripting tools. When it
comes down to choosing what operating system to use on a web server, or perhaps which
hosting company to sign up with, these are all things that you need to take into consideration. In
many cases, it s best to use Linux unless you have a specific reason not to. Many content
management systems such as WordPress or Joomla use PHP and SQL which traditionally runs
faster, and more reliably, on Linux systems, but can be run on Windows web servers as well. Of
course, if your site has been built using Windows specific languages and databases, such as

Structure, Sign And Play On The Discourse Of Human Sciences
Derrida: Structure, sign and play in the discourse of human sciences.
While understanding Derrida, many scholars consider early life of Derrida as a marginalized
European and being a Jew has special significance1. He later theorized that marginalization in
terms of absence , a loaded term in Derrida s works which we will visit later in this chapter. It was a
high time for existentialism, phenomenology and structuralism represented many renowned thinkers
like Husserl, Sartre, Strauss, and others. While the concern of structural linguistics was to formulate
scientific understanding of language as structured expression/entity, others were skeptic about
fundamental presuppositions of neutral binaries, the virtuality of the center and who rejected
subjective humanism of existentialists.
Deconstruction is literary technique derived by Derrida to show that there are many unquestioned
metaphysical notions that we use in structured language, and arbitrary hierarchy is maintained
between various binaries. Speaking in terms of linguistics, relation between signified and signifier
is anything but neutral, as it privileges one constituent of binary over other. For example, privilege
of speaking voice over written text, privilege of presence over absence, privilege of masculine over
feminine and so on. Thus for Derrida logocentrism is invariably present in the history of western
metaphysics which somewhere privileges author over his text.
Derrida s method is to look for

Service Animals
Animals are very similar to humans in that they offer constant love and loyalty. For some,
animals are something they can depend on in their day to day life. Service animals make simple
tasks like walking, seeing and even being emotionally stable eassible. People that are in desperate
need of a service animal should have the right to be with their service companion while they
protect and serve their handler. Service animals should be permitted in all public places because
they provide lifesaving services, and therefore there should be no restrictions for service animals
wherever they go.

Voter Turnout And Voter Apathy
Voter turnout is commonly regarded as one of the most distinct issues within American politics of
the last century. Though the United States once averaged a turnout rate of 78% of eligible voters in
presidential elections between 1860 and 19001, the average voter turnout of the 21st century has
fallen to around 52%2. The cause of the marked decline throughout the 20th century is often
attributed simply to voter apathy, but the issue is much more complex. Upon analysis, it is clear
that a number of factors have contributed to the decreased rate of voter turnout, of which voter
apathy is perhaps the least influential. The decline in voter turnout in presidential electionsfrom the
19th to the 20th century is most likely a result of the instatement of the Australian ballot, the
structure of the American electionsystem, and an increased disillusionment with the government
over the last century. Until the late 19th century, voting was not entirely private in the United
States, which led to inflated voter turnout in presidential elections due to the corruption it
allowed. Initially, there were very few regulations imposed on voting. Ballots, for example,
could be printed in any size or color and often were printed so that one could tell to which party
it corresponded just by looking at it. A voter s name might be called out or recorded when he
placed a vote. Others could even view the ballot of another until it was officially cast3. This lack
of privacy in casting votes allowed

Could they be experiencing adverse reactions from the vaccines? Today, there are many vaccines, they are in such high demand that even a simple flu has a vaccine. Vaccines are created to protect us. The main function of vaccines it to build our immune systemand fight against many bacterias. However, adverse reactions have become severe over the last couple of years, leaving some parents with no child. Therefore, parents shouldn t be punished for not vaccinating their children because, vaccines can cause many adverse reactions and death in children. Vaccines are a social norm, we are taught that once your child is born they need to get vaccinated. It is only natural for parents to want to protect their child. So why wouldn t we want to vaccinate and protect our child? But, what if these shots that are supposed to protect us hurt your child? Children are facing adverse reactions all over the world. • 3. European Werewolf Myth From Shaman to Demon: How the Spread of Christianity Shaped the European Werewolf Myth At the mention of the word werewolf, those familiar with twenty first century literature and television will often conjure the same iconic image in their minds: an unsuspecting victim of a wolf bite that develops a deadly silver allergy and undergoes a peculiar transformation every full moon. The modern myth we have grown to love stems from the medieval picture of a flesh eating wolf man in league with the Devil, which only barely resembles the werewolf stories of a pre Christian Europe. With the spread of Christianity in Europe from the early Medieval Period to the end of the Renaissance, werewolf lore underwent a major transition to better complement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where does this tradition come from? In chapter 6 of John in the Bible, Jesus told the apostles, I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh (John 6:51, ESV) and Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day (John 6:53 54, ESV). This begs the question: if Christians can eat the flesh of other men, why is it so wrong for werewolves? The answer may lie in the nature of how a werewolf was theorized to obtain his meals. Proposed by Christians who engage in the tradition of the Eucharist as it was practiced during the Middle Ages, cannibalism differs from Communion in the detail that while a cannibal must kill his victim in order to consume his flesh, Jesus does not die when he is consumed during Communion ... • 4. Human Resource Policies And Human Resources Human resources policies are at the heart of every business but when companies deviate from those policies or create a culture of their own polices that can be a recipe for disaster. Having strong human resource policies can distinguish companies from the rest and set them out to be the best but in the case of the following companies human resource policieswe either neglected or altered and it cost the company more in the end. The nature of business is to make money and the policies set forth by human resourcesare the ethical guidelines that enable companies to accomplish that with respect to the financial world that they are involved. I will look into the policies and see whether they were a sound from the beginning or whether the policies were doomed from the start. I will see whether the policies had any ethical merits and how this was overlooked it there was a good foundation. I will look into some problems with human resource policies then I will go over companies polices that caused a near bankruptcy and a company policy that caused a complete failure. The Risky Business of Human Resource Policies The foundation of any business starts with its policies and if that foundation is not build with strong ethical policies then the business will likely fail. The human resource department of a company has to maintain polices on how employees should conduct themselves and some policies encourage growth and strength within the company and sometime we forget the ... • 5. Chinese Gunpowder Research Paper The Chinese developed the first compass as early as the 3rd century B.C.E. The first Chinese compasses were pieces of a magnetic mineral called lodestone. Earth itself is like a giant magnet with north and south poles. Because lodestone is magnetic, it is influenced by Earth s magnetic poles. If you put a piece of lodestone on wood and float it in a bowl of water, the lodestone will turn until it points in a north south direction. The Chinese also made sea travel safer by improving boat construction. By the 2nd century C.E., they started building ships with separate, watertight compartments. Builders divided the ships into sections and sealed each section with caulk, a sealant that keeps out water. If there were a leak, it would be isolated. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One method was to rely on the class of wealthy families. Emperors like Han Wu Di, however, preferred to choose officials for their merit, or worth. During the Han dynasty, candidates for government jobs had to prove their knowledge and ability by passing strict tests. As a result, a class of scholar officials evolved. Under later emperors, this system developed into a rule by officials of proven merit. In the 13th century C.E., a nomadic people called the Mongols built a great empire in Asia. • 6. Reality And Malthus Predictions Of Population Reality and Malthus Predictions of Population Imagine if Earth s population was so large that all of the world s resources had to be exhausted to their last limits just to provide food for only half of the population. That is exactly what 17th century demographer Thomas Malthus envisioned when he predicted how the world s population would affect the world s resources. In An Essay on the Principle of Population, published in the late 18th century, Malthus expressed many controversial predictions in which he argued that the increase of resources was arithmetic while the increase in population was exponential; thus, he concluded that the population would greatly outpace the amount of resource growth on Earth. Being that Malthus made his predictions during the industrial revolution (which was when North America and Europe reached stage two of the demographic transition), many critics of his theory claim that Malthus calculations were inaccurate because he did not consider technological advances in relation to food production. Also, Malthus critics believe that he overestimated population increase (mainly because of the time period he lived in) and (adverb) underestimated the production rate of resources. Though both sides of the debate are plausible, it is evident that Malthus views were incorrect because modern day statistics regarding population and food production do not support his claims. Therefore, because of Malthus uncircumspect approach when he predicted population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American Involvement in Ww1 World War I (WWI), which was predominantly called the World War or the Great War from its occurrence until 1939, and the First World War or World War I thereafter, was a major war centered in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. It involved all the world s great powers, which were assembled in two opposing alliances: the Allies (centered on the Triple Entente of the United Kingdom, France and Russia) and the Central Powers (originally centered on the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy). These alliances both reorganized (Italy fought for the Allies), and expanded as more nations entered the war. Anglo French trenches were only intended to be temporary before their forces broke through German defenses. Both sides tried to break the stalemate using scientific and technological advances. On 22 April 1915 at the Second Battle of Ypres, the Germans (violating the Hague Convention) used chlorine gas for the first time on the Western Front. Algerian troops retreated when gassed and a six kilometer (four mile) hole opened in the Allied lines that the Germans quickly exploited, taking Kitchener s Wood. Canadian soldiers closed the breach at the Second Battle of Ypres. At the Third Battle of Ypres, Canadian and ANZAC troops took the village of Passchendaele. At the start of the war, the German Empire had cruisers scattered across the globe, some of which were subsequently used to attack Allied merchant shipping. The British Royal Navy systematically hunted them down, though not without some embarrassment from its inability to protect Allied shipping. For example, the German detached light cruiser SMS Emden, part of the East Asia squadron stationed at Tsingtao, seized or destroyed 15 merchantmen, as well as sinking a Russian cruiser and a French destroyer. However, most of the German East Asia squadron consisting of the armored cruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, light cruisers NГјrnberg and Leipzig and two transport ships did not have ... Diabetes Education Curriculum Analysis When designing an educational class for newly diagnosed diabetics in the community, the curriculum should incorporate active teaching, learning theories, creativity, fun and experiential learning. A comprehensive curriculum is fundamental to the education of a well prepared and clinically effective educator (Neidorf, 2012). This curriculum is consistent with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) concept of diabetes educationand empower people with diabetes and healthcare team members in an effort to improve prevention strategies and diabetes outcomes (2013). • 9. The Japanese Criminal Justice System For some time now, the Japanese criminal justice system has been regarded or perceived to be a successful justice system model. The success is mainly attributed to Japan s culture and even embedded in the language itself (Goold, 2004). The success has drawn interest among criminology scholars and practitioners either for the purpose of broadening their knowledge or to emulate its criminal justicesystem (Ebbe, 2000). The interest is based on statistical data that indicate low levels of criminality in the developed nation of Japan in comparison to others. From these statistics, it would imply that Japan s way of dealing with crimeis more effective in its prevention. While the statistic might be solid, the texts on the criminal system may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The benefits of this kind of success are sure to be present and for that matter welcomed. However, I will also evaluate at what cost that this haven of peace comes about. Clear examples will accompany any argument and statements as support of a claim. The history of Japan s criminal justice system is important if one wishes to understand completely how the system operates and borrow from it. Before the Second World War, Japan was mostly isolated from the rest of the world except for some trading activities with Portugal. Due to this Western or rather European, the influence in the country was minimal. Japan was, therefore, able to retain some of its strong traditional legal systems despite incorporating some aspects from the French, Chinese, and Americans. However; after WWII, Japan was forced to adopt the American legal approaches to the constitution and human rights due to the post war agreement that was signed (Reichel, 2002). The Japanese however did not abandon their systems all together as they continued to use the informal ways of conflict resolution through mediation, consensus, and compromise. Blake expressed what he believed, and he wanted to prove his true understanding of Christianity. His audience for his poem understood Christianity and were familiar with the Bible. The poem establishes the theme of the vulnerability of innocence and a vision of the speaker. The child s view is limited on account of unawareness of the total reality of human knowledge. The voice of the poem is formed from a speaker that seems to be an innocent child, communicating with a lamb who is unable to answer or respond to the child. The rhyme scheme is similar to that of Dr. Seuss, it is like a nursery rhyme, and also a riddle. This is one of William s simpler poems, but with a closer analysis it reveals hidden symbols, meaning, tones, and wordplay. William Blake writes The Songs of Innocence, so this poem is obviously going to relate to some kind of innocence. It is revealed in the second stanza when the speaker addresses the lamb as if it knows who made it, and who gave it all of its features. However, the lamb or child does not answer, but of course it would not answer. This then causes the speaker to answer his own questions. Which proves that the lamb is too innocent to answer for itself. Dost thou know who made thee? /Little Lamb I ll tell thee (10 11). Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of. Borderline Personality Disorder ( Borderline ) Research Paper: Borderline Personality Disorder Borderline personality disorder is a serious mental illness that directly affects one s behavior, moods, and relationships/socialization skills. Borderline personality disorder often is associated with co occurring disorders like depression, suicidal behaviors, anxiety, abuse of drugs and alcohol, as well as eating disorders. The behavior of a person diagnosed with borderline is also described to erratic and impulsive. The cause of borderline personality disorderis still not entirely clear at this point, although trials and studies suggest that it can be passed down through genetic traits. It is also suggested that one s environment/upbringing may play a huge factor in the diagnoses as well. Because borderline personality disorder was not considered a valid diagnosable illness until 1980(by clinical standard), the illness history is one that is more so rooted in the history of other illnesses ( What Is Borderline Personality, 2012, Para 1). Prior to its inclusion in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders, borderline was considered to be overlapped with schizophrenia, non schizophrenic psychoses, and neuroses such as anxiety and depressive disorders. (Friedel, M.D., 2012, Para. 1). Ethos Pynchon Conspiracy Thomas Pynchon s The Crying of Lot 49 employs the interacting tropes of paranoia and conspiracy to produce an allegory of reading in the form of a mystery quest narrative. A key question in the text of whether the clues which comprise the Tristero conspiracy are meaningfully connected posits two possible resolutions which cannot both be true; the conspiracy and its purpose is revealed and the meaning of the interlinking elements is made clear, or the conspiracy is false and Oedipa is exposed as paranoid. In either ending closure is achieved by terminating conspiracy or paranoia in favour of determining one as the most appropriate interpretation of the text . The narrative s paranoia conspiracy dialectic is developed through the deferral of the decisive meaning of signs and motifs. The absence of closure arrests the mystery quest narrative in meaning finding irresolution. By allying the reader with Oedipa, Lot 49 engages the reader in a meaning finding process, demonstrating the mechanics of paranoia to produce a critique of reading. Summary Of Perfection Wasted By John Updike An Explication of John Updike s Perfection Wasted This poem dramatizes the conflict between losing someone s personality through death and the magic within our own separate world s. In the poem personality is the most important part of life because it can t be replicated by any person in the world because every person s personality is different and unique in its own way. The personality that is shown in the poem is that the speaker is happy and full of magic. John Updike uses this poem to tell a story through mostly imagery. The impression I received throughout the entire poem is the cycle of life. The main theme I have seen in this poem is how one s ways or personality can t be remade by someone. You can imitate what a person does or how a person acts, but you will never replicate it one hundred percent. The speaker in this poem talks about how when someone dies their personality will be lost forever because it cannot be reperformed by someone else, not even the their closest friends or family members. Imitators and descendants aren t the same. (Line 14) You can be near someone for twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks in a year and still not be them exactly. When someone dies, there will be glimpses of them in others that they have touched through their actions, but you will never fully see them in just one single person. You work on making the most perfect personality for yourself throughout your whole life just to see that when you die it dies with you. When you work this hard on something like this you don t want it to die so you make people happy by using it, you help people by using it, you touch people by using it, just so that he wouldn t ever be one hundred percent fully forgotten by those you knew, or those that knew you. All the speaker will have left is the memories that she made with those that have or will pass on before her, nothing more, nothing less. Memories are the only thing that others can give us that will stay with us for an eternity, and we will never forget because our memories are always with us. The best kind of memories that the speaker has is the ones when the speaker is with another person supporting them in what they love to do. The speaker if this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It relies primarily on peer reviewed literature published within the discipline of sociology, but also draws upon studies related in other disciplines such as criminology and psychology. The studies in this literature review focus on violent crime in the U.S. Many studies in this review discuss how some sociological variables can influence crime for better or for worse. This literature review will discuss the relationship between violent crime and the following five themes: race, religion, gender, income, and immigration. Race Violent crime has consistently been a significant issue throughout U.S. history, especially between racial and ethnic groups. As a country, we ve had to deal with violent crime dating back to slavery in the 1600 s, up unto today with issues such as police brutality against racial and ethnic minorities. Researchers have found that segregation between races within neighborhoods can have a heavy influence on violent crime (Hipp 2007; Krivo, Byron, Calder, Peterson, Browning, Kwon, Lee 2014), although not all literature had the same results. Three races that were used throughout the research were Blacks, Whites, and Latinos. Within racially segregated neighborhoods, those with a higher percentage of African Americans experience higher rates of violent crime (Hipp 2007). The same thing can also be said about Latinos. This particular diet focuses on decreasing the risk of Alzheimer s, which is a major cause of death in those over the age of one hundred (Health.com, 2016). Two approaches that are more permanent than something like a diet that usually has a start and finish date are to have smaller portions of food and to stop eating when you are eighty percent full. • 48. The Rhetorical Analysis Of Martin Luther s On Christian... Martin Luther wrote On Christian Liberty, as an attempt to avoid conflict with the Church. In it, he justifies his beliefs, primarily on the importance of placing faith in Christ above works in the grand scheme of salvation. Throughout the treatise, he address who a Christian should be, the nature humanity, and the role he believes faith, works, and ceremonies playing in forming a good Christian. This, in turn, entices the reader to critique and search of his or her self, what it means to be a good Christian and how to gain salvation. Within the first few pages of On Christian Liberty, Luther creates a paradox that causes readers to think deeply about their own role as believers of Christ. In it, he claims that a Christian is: ...a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none while, at the same time, being a perfectly dutiful servant, subject to all (pg.2). Through faith, the most important part of a person s salvation, a Christian gains freedom and liberty. However, a Christian becomes a servant of all through love, subjecting themselves to the needs of others as Christ did. Luther identifies the two natures of man as the body and the spirit. These two natures continuously conflict. The body is the flesh or a person s outward nature while the soul represents the inner person. The bodily nature of humanity has no bearing on the righteousness of the soul. Luther states that the soul cannot benefit if the body and flesh is well. Regardless of outward wealth, ... A girl named Lupe is not good at sports but she finds something athletic that she could be good at. She found marbles. She practiced until she got so good, she won the marbles championship. For this matter, I think a possible theme in this story is to never give, just like Lupe did. A couple reasons why, are because she practices, perseveres, and always gives 100% effort. To begin, one reason why a possible theme could be to never give up is Lupe practices. At the beginning of the story Lupe did fingertip pushups. She did 20 of them in sets of five, so every so often she could take a break. This seems like a lot to ask from someone who isn t that strong. She also squeezed a eraser for a long time. In Mahabharatha, Draupadi had to accept the fate of marrying five men, Gandhari was tricked to marry a blind king. Kunti had to experience widowhood for no fault of hers besides, there had been the practice of Sati and related issues in ancient Indian society. Later the colonial exploitation was in harmony with superior forms of political and economic organization which encouraged marginalization of women by making them conform to patriarchy. The concept of naritva was stressed by the nationalist like Gandhi nearly fifty years before the wave of women s emancipation began and grew as dominant, perilous and insurmountable force but this as usual was suppressed. After Independence Indian writers focused on the construction of imaginary communities and individuals, but the focal point of women writers of twentieth century is the issue of marginalization of women and a struggle for gender equality (Tharu and Lalitha ... • 53. Essay On Henry Longfellow With a heart for any fate,/ Still achieving, still pursuing, (Longfellow, L. 10, L. 11) Longfellow wrote this line in a way that makes me believe that he truly understood it. Like everyone, Henry Longfellow has had to face many impeding forces in own life. Longfellow s first wife, Mary Potter, died in 1835 after only four years of their marriage. Later on, Longfellow s next wife, Frances Appleton, died of burns. Other struggles plagued him throughout his life as well. It seems that the poet knew this well enough, nevertheless, most people forget; when terrible things happen, we must find it within ourselves to get up again and keep going. Sometimes when we lose people who are important to us or go through tough times it can impair the ability... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is one of the strongest people that I know which is why finding her crying one gloomy morning shook me greatly. Her sorrow was tangible throughout the whole house. I can remember that even the sky was crying. Gray light filtered in through the water streaked windows. When I asked her what was wrong she told me that it was the anniversary of her brother s death. This was the first one after her mother had died. She recounted some of her favorite memories of them both with a smile on her face even though she was tearful. It didn t occur to me until many years later that all the family that she had grown up with was gone. I remember wishing that I could help her but I think that the best way for me to have comforted her was to just be there for her and to listen so that is what I did. Even though I can only imagine what my mother must have felt, I can assume that it would have been debilitating for some people and yet my mother was able to get up again every morning and go to work and go on with her life. Even now, this event only reinforced my high thoughts of my mother because she is only one example of how people are always stronger than we think and how we, ourselves, are stronger than we think. • 54. Most Common Internet Server Operating Systems Most Common Internet Server Operating Systems POS/355 Internet Servers (also commonly known as Web Servers), primarily function to deliver web pages on request to clients. When a user types a domain name into their browser, or clicks on a link, the request is first sent to a Domain Name Server (DNS). DNSs are servers that hold databases full of domain names and IP addresses. When a DNS receives a request, it matches the domain name (ie, www.CriketX.com) to the IP address of the server that holds all of the files that make up that particular website and sends that information back to the user s browser. The browser can then send a request for those files to the IP address of the web server (205.134.224.227 for www.CriketX.com). If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... VB development tools as well as Access and MS SQL cannot be run on Linux servers, which is why Windows servers are a big hit with Microsoft technology fans. When it comes to system security, Windows web servers are more prone to attacks by hackers, but this also has more to do with administration than with the fact that it s running Windows (webdevelopersnotes.com). Also, Linux servers perform better under heavy traffic so, in the case of shared IP hosting where multiple sites are running on the same IP address, Linux is the better choice over Windows. Linux also offers more ways to connect. Windows offers FTP access and it s possible to configure telnet (if your hosting provider allows it) but Linux offers FTP, telnet, and ssh access. Linux servers are also more likely to offer CGI and Perl access, although some Windows servers do make it available. Both types of web servers offer server side scripting tools. When it comes down to choosing what operating system to use on a web server, or perhaps which hosting company to sign up with, these are all things that you need to take into consideration. In many cases, it s best to use Linux unless you have a specific reason not to. Many content management systems such as WordPress or Joomla use PHP and SQL which traditionally runs faster, and more reliably, on Linux systems, but can be run on Windows web servers as well. Of course, if your site has been built using Windows specific languages and databases, such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Structure, Sign And Play On The Discourse Of Human Sciences Derrida: Structure, sign and play in the discourse of human sciences. While understanding Derrida, many scholars consider early life of Derrida as a marginalized European and being a Jew has special significance1. He later theorized that marginalization in terms of absence , a loaded term in Derrida s works which we will visit later in this chapter. It was a high time for existentialism, phenomenology and structuralism represented many renowned thinkers like Husserl, Sartre, Strauss, and others. While the concern of structural linguistics was to formulate scientific understanding of language as structured expression/entity, others were skeptic about fundamental presuppositions of neutral binaries, the virtuality of the center and who rejected subjective humanism of existentialists. Deconstruction is literary technique derived by Derrida to show that there are many unquestioned metaphysical notions that we use in structured language, and arbitrary hierarchy is maintained between various binaries. Speaking in terms of linguistics, relation between signified and signifier is anything but neutral, as it privileges one constituent of binary over other. For example, privilege of speaking voice over written text, privilege of presence over absence, privilege of masculine over feminine and so on. Thus for Derrida logocentrism is invariably present in the history of western metaphysics which somewhere privileges author over his text. Derrida s method is to look for ... Service animals make simple tasks like walking, seeing and even being emotionally stable eassible. People that are in desperate need of a service animal should have the right to be with their service companion while they protect and serve their handler. Service animals should be permitted in all public places because they provide lifesaving services, and therefore there should be no restrictions for service animals wherever they go. • 57. Voter Turnout And Voter Apathy Voter turnout is commonly regarded as one of the most distinct issues within American politics of the last century. Though the United States once averaged a turnout rate of 78% of eligible voters in presidential elections between 1860 and 19001, the average voter turnout of the 21st century has fallen to around 52%2. The cause of the marked decline throughout the 20th century is often attributed simply to voter apathy, but the issue is much more complex. Upon analysis, it is clear that a number of factors have contributed to the decreased rate of voter turnout, of which voter apathy is perhaps the least influential. The decline in voter turnout in presidential electionsfrom the 19th to the 20th century is most likely a result of the instatement of the Australian ballot, the structure of the American electionsystem, and an increased disillusionment with the government over the last century. Until the late 19th century, voting was not entirely private in the United States, which led to inflated voter turnout in presidential elections due to the corruption it allowed. Initially, there were very few regulations imposed on voting. Ballots, for example, could be printed in any size or color and often were printed so that one could tell to which party it corresponded just by looking at it. A voter s name might be called out or recorded when he placed a vote. Others could even view the ballot of another until it was officially cast3. This lack of privacy in casting votes allowed ...
