People have different beliefs about who our ancestors are. In other words, how humans came
into existence on the mother Earth, and who they were. There are many different types of origin
stories, ranging from tribal specific Native American stories to the story of Adam and Eve and
beyond (Perea 18, 2014). As a Muslim, I believe all humans are the sons and daughters of Adam

group than the Jews; examples of their persecution can be traced back to Biblical times. Because of
their mistreatment by other ethnic and religious groups, the Jewish people have formed a self
identity that is unlike any other cultural group in this world. There are three components that make
up the Jewish self identity: antisemitism and its effects, the image of the self hating Jew, often a
result of antisemitism, and the events and repercussions of the Holocaust. Some scholars would
argue that antisemitism is a result of the New Testament s portrayal of the Jewish people as the
reason for Christ s crucifixion. In fact, in the Gospel of Acts, the Bible blatantly states, The

recorder performing the task. Prior to recording, I was given few minutes to read the passage.
Then, I was asked to analyze my own recording based on my auditory judgements and acoustic

Literature Review
To inform my teaching, the literature review has been divided into three subheadings: Theories
of Learning, Misconceptions of Biological Classification and Assessment for Learning (AFL).
Literature was acquired from Google Scholar, teaching resources and online journals from King s
College Library and resources provided by the PGCE department. Prior to locating published
literature on Google Scholar, I searched on Google to familiarise myself with general information. I
used keywords such as Jean Piaget Theories of Learning, Vygotsky Theories of Learning, and
Misconceptions of Animal Classification. Some original literature was not located and thus,
secondary literature was cited instead. Subsequently, the literature review was produced to ensure
all aspects of teaching Biological Classification to year 9s are considered.

A learning theory is a conceptual framework that describes how pupils acquire, process and retain
information, thereby, informing teachers on how to tackle the complex process of how pupils
learn. To ensure learning, prior to planning a lesson, teachers must be well informed of a range of

individualized, classroom based social skills intervention. In the study, there were 45 children with
learning disabilities 9 12 years old. These children were in self contained special education

intervention for 12 weeks. The remaining 25 children were in the control group, which received no

As an Athlete, Weightlifter and Welder I tend to put many stresses on my body throughout the
