Albert Bandura s Social Psychology
Although the study of psychology has been going on for centuries, many of the first psychologists
have done their work in the field, and passed. There are many people who thrive and are in awe of
the work done by the previous psychologists that these people have decided to dedicate their life in
this study, and continue learning how the human mind works. After looking into many modern day
psychologist, I chose Albert Bandura, who studies social psychology. Social psychology deals with
social interactions, including its origins and the effects on the individual. Some previous
psychologists who have studied social psychology would be Phillip Zambardo and B.F Skinner.
Albert Bandura has devoted his life to the study of psychology. Although... Show more content on

finishing high school, Bandura worked for Yukon filling holes in the Alaskan Highway. Bandura
had noticed that most of the men he worked with had escaped from things in the world such as
the draft board and even probation officers. This was when he had noticed that there are so
many different characteristics of people in the world which made him interested in the
psychopathology of life. Right after working for Yukon, Bandura went onto the University of
British Columbia in Vancouver. Considering his only way to get to school was to commute with
medical students who started the day early, he had no choice but to take classes that started in the
morning, which was psychology. His intended major was biology, but in the end, this one
psychology class captivated his interests, so he changed his major to psychology. In 1949, three
years later, Bandura graduated with a psychology degree. Being the top psychology student, he
won the Bolocan Award in Psychology. Next in his journey, Bandura went onto the University of
Iowa for his graduate study of psychology. In 1952, he ordained with his PhD. While studying for
his doctorate, he became interested in the learning theory and behaviorists. In 1953, Bandura took a

Holistic And Holistic Nursing Care Essay
Holistic Nursing Care Norma Valdez Rosa South University Online Complementary Alternative
Methods Introduction Holistic nursing is defined as all nursing practice that has healing the
whole person as its goal (Dossey, 2012). Holistic nursing does not replace medicinal practice;
rather, it incorporates the whole patient into the nursing care plan with the outcome being that of
a healthier patient. Holistic Nurse Self Care is the most important core value of the Holistic
Nursing Care standards because of the importance of nurse self care to the delivery of quality
patient care. In order to be able to meet all the needs of the patient, a nurse needs to be prepared
in mind, body and spirit. Holistic Nurse Self Care The Holistic Nursing Care standards are based
on five core values: holistic philosophy and education; holistic ethics, theories and research;
holistic nurse self care; holistic communication, therapeutic environment and cultural competence;
and holistic caring process. In my opinion, Holistic Nurse Self Care ranks as the most important
value that should be incorporated into the Holistic nurse s practice. As a nurse, I feel that nurses
have to take care of themselves in order to be able to take care of their patients and deliver high
quality care to them. Self care and self awareness are important to prevent nurse burnout which can
lead to depression, anger, feelings of incompetence, difficulties in one s home, absenteeism and staff

The Characters Of Calpurnia As A Mockingbird
What does it take to be considered a mother? Does it take courage? Strength? Love? Or are you
only a mother if you give birth to a child or officially adopt a child? Being there for someone
emotionally, mentally, and physically are the characteristics of a good mother. A woman or even a
man can take the role of being a protector and guardian of someone who was not necessarily born
into or chosen for their family. Calpurnia does an excellent job of taking the role as Jem and Scout
s motherly figure. She has rules and shows the kids discipline, teaches them life lessons and
supports and comforts them as they grow up. Calpurnia is Jem and Scout s African Americancook
who has been with their family since before their motherdied. Scout said that She had been with us
ever since Jem was born, and I had felt her tyrannical presence as long as I could remember. Our
mother died when I was two, so I never felt her absence (6). Calpurnia displays motherly actions
by disciplining Jem and Scout just like they were her own kids. Her hand was as wide as a bed
slat and twice as hard (6) explained Scout. This quote signifies that Scout knows how her hand
feels and she was getting a physical punishment. Calpurnia tends to discipline Scout more than
Jem because Scout acts out and is the worst behaved child of the siblings. She was ordering me
out of the kitchen, asking me why I couldn t behave as well as Jem when she knew he was older,
and calling me home when I wasn t ready to come (6) Scout states. Scout and Calpurnia s
relationship is just like a mother and daughter relationship because they fight and make up and
Calpurnia disciplines Scout and Scout gets mad at her. Page 75 Chapter 3 states Calpurnia bent
down and kissed me. I ran along, wondering what had come over her. She had wanted to make up
with me, that was it. She had always been too hard on me, she had at last seen the error of her
fractious ways, she was sorry and too stubborn to say so. Calpurnia also accepts and claims them
as her own children because on page 118 she said, I don t want anybody sayin I don t look after
my children. Calpurnia s discipline is tough, but it relates back to the values and lessons that she
wants to teach her children.

The Loss Of Faith And The Decline Of Church Attendance
Secularization the loss of faith and the decline in church attendance is something that has left
historians asking why this occurred and at what point in history did the people of Great Britain
lose their faith, add in the sexual revolution of the swinging sixties the development of the oral
contraception pill and immigration to Great Britain, which brought together people from other
colonies and with them they brought their religion, the connection between any of these factors if
there is one has and will be debated for years to come. Historian Callum Brown has used several
other historians, teachers and authors work to compile a paper on the above topic titled Sex,

Mr Brown puts the date at 1963 and believes that, the 1960s saw the British people going to church
less and less, whilst other religious denominations thrived, the Christian benchmark of moral such
as attending church and Sunday school, baptizing children, marrying in church has all but
disappeared. The decline is attributed to the decentring of rigid moral codes such as increased
sexual freedom and freedom for diverse sexualities, greater gender equality and a new tolerance of
religious and ethnic difference .
Whilst Brown believes that sex and the lack of religion are interlinked there are others that show
that the origins of sex and religion and the moral views people held go back before the 1960s,
with the history of sex going back centuries with the historian Faramerz Dabhoiwala writing, on
the banks of the Thames in 1612 the towns court house is in session dealing with a routine
criminal case that of an unmarried man and woman, who have been arrested and brought before
the court, interrogated, put on trial and found guilty by a jury of men , their crime was having
sexual relations. For sex was illegal outside of marriage and was seen by the church along with
ordinary people as something that was punishable unless the couple was married, as illicit relations
were angered God, prevented salvation, damaged personal relations and undermined social order .

Brady Vs. Maryland Case
Brady Vs Maryland
Brady vs. Maryland was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the prosecution had
withheld from the criminal defendant certain evidence. The defendant faced his conviction, arguing
it had been contrary to the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States
Constitution.
Maryland prosecuted Brady and a companion, Boblit, for murder. Brady admitted being involved in
the murder, but claimed Boblit had done the actual killing. The prosecution had withheld a written
statement by Boblit admitting that he had committed the act of killing by himself. The Maryland
Court of Appeals had confirmed the conviction and remanded the case for a retrial only on the
question of punishment. The Supreme Court held that withholding exculpatory evidence violates
due process where the evidence is material either to guilt or to punishment ; and the court
determined that under Maryland state law the withheld evidence couldn t have exculpated the
defendant but was material to the level of punishment he would be given. Hence the Maryland
Court of Appeals ruling was confirmed. A defendant s request for Brady disclosure refers to the
holding of the Brady case, and the various state and federal cases that interpret its obligation that
the prosecution discloses material exculpatory evidence to the defense. Exculpatory evidence is a
reasonable probability that his conviction or sentence would have been different had these materials
been disclosed.

Essay about India and the Black Market
Sep 20, 2005
BLACK MARKET AND THE INDIAN ECONOMY
Statistics: It is said that black money in India accounts for 20 % of GDP. If this is true, then
black money generated every year must be around Rs 400,000 crore or $ 80 billion. This is a
huge amount, more than the entire budget of the government at the Centre. We have a government
that spends about Rs 350,000 crore a year, most of it on itself, and asks for accounts of every paisa.
On the other side, we have black money worth Rs 400,000 crore every year, which is just
guesswork, and there are no accounts. This money goes into property, which is why real estate
prices are so high, and of course five star ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, payments for the sale and purchase of immovable property, various kinds of consumer
goods and services beyond a certain stipulated amount should also be made mandatory through
banking channels. While doing so, the Finance Minister will not only be plugging one of the
biggest loopholes leading to tax evasion but would also reduce the need for ready cash and hence
the printing of currency notes on a large scale. The biggest chunk of black money is invested in
real estate and gold. The circulation of black money in the housing sector is beyond imagination.
Since the house tax is based on the current purchase price only one fourth of the money is paid by
cheque and the rest in unaccounted cash. Even an honest buyer of flats / houses is forced to pay in
black money if he wants to acquire one.
History: The period 1946 61 was one of the intense creativity. A black or parallel economy emerged
both in the wake of the Second World War and the expansion of the economic activity in the post
independence period. Incentives were provided through the taxation laws to promote savings and
investment; this made the tax laws more complex. Then, there was the need for larger revenues to
finance the plans of economic development. Thorough investigations were, therefore, conducted
into the structure of taxation not only with a view to widen the base of

Kurt Cobain s Life
Drugs have taken and changed the lives of many, even people who seem invincible, our idols.
Many famous musicians and actors have lost their lives due to drugs or alcohol. Three examples
would be Kurt Cobain, Scott Weiland, and Layne Staley, three of the most famous musicians of
their time. Each of their lives were taken by drugs, and some recently. They were all born in the
same year of 1967, but all died at different times. Kurt Cobain, singer and guitarist of Nirvana, was
27 when his heroin addiction caused him to take his own life. Throughout his teenage years, he
experimented with prescription drugs and marijuana. He began using a drug known as Hash in
1984, which was popular in his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington. In the summer of 1986, just

His death is still shrouded in mystery, whether it was a real suicide, or a murder covered up to
look like to a suicide. Either way, his death silenced the people of his generation. He was an
inspiration to millions of people across the world, and his death came as a shock. Scott Weiland,
former singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, struggled with substance abuse
throughout his whole life. When he was young, he showed an interest in singing. In high school
he formed his first band Mighty Joe Young, which eventually became Stone Temple Pilots. They
were one of the biggest bands of the 90 s. Scott first got into his drug habits in high school, and
was sent to rehab when his parents found drugs in his room. In 1995, after his band s second
album release, he was arrested for drug possession. This brush with the law did little to quell
Weiland s appetite for drugs (Scott Weiland Biography). At one point, he lived in a Los Angeles
hotel, shooting up heroin with Kurt Cobain s wife, Courtney Love. Weiland s personal addictions
impacted his band s ability to tour in 1996, so he subsequently parted ways with the band for a time.

The Myth Of The Latin Wom I Just Met A Girl Named Maria
Stereotypes are dangerous weapons in our society. The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl
Named Maria is a short essay in which the award winning poet and professor of English, Judith
Ortiz Cofer, wishes to inform and persuade the audience that labels and stereotypes can be
humiliating and hurtful. The author targets the general public, anyone that doesn t understand that
putting someone in a box because of a stereotypeis wrong. Cofer starts out the essay by telling the
reader a story with a drunk man who re enacted Maria from the West Side Story, and how angry
that made her feel. She continues by explaining how she grew up in the United Statesbeing a Puerto
Rican girl trying to fit in, but always being labeled as an island girl. Cofer carries on by
explaining why Latin people get dressed and act a certain way. Then she recalls some more
stereotypical incidents.
In The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl Named Maria Cofer shows the reader that
Latin women are misrepresented in society and in the media, using the rhetorical appeals ethos,
logos and pathos as well as allusions to popular culture and personal experience.
Cofer starts the essay in the present, but then she takes the reader in her past by giving background
on her childhood and the events that followed, in chronological order, until she became an adult.
The opening paragraph draws the reader in, it makes the reader empathize with the author, and feel
angry for the humiliation Cofer went

Compare And Contrast The Lamb And The Tyger
The Differences and Similarities of a Lamb and a Tyger Poetry is a form of writing that lets the
writer have the ability to express themselves in a creative way. This allows the reader to be
moved in a way that other literary works cannot. It s no wonder that poetry has been around for a
very long time. With the likes of Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and Homer, who helped shaped
poetryin some way, we often forget those who created wonderful works of art. One of those
writers is William Blake. Much of Blake s inspirations for his poems came from his childhood.
Blake had begun having visions when he was around the age of four. He had even once claimed
that he had seen God standing right next to his window. Aside from his visions, Blake had a
religious upbringing, in which his parents had treated his visions as a gift. It s easy for one to
assume that his upbringing had a huge influence in his poems, as often times one can feel a sense
of religious undertones in his writing. To help explore this concept, I will compare and contrast two
of Blake s works, The Tygerand The Lamb. In this essay, I will examine and analyze both poems
structures, the writing styles of both poems, and give my personal opinion on each of the poems
purpose.
When you first look at both poems, you realize that The Tyger is longer than The Lamb, with The
Lamb having only two stanzas while The Tyger has six stanzas. The another difference in both
poems, in terms of their length, is

What is an entrepreneur? Entrepreneurship is the act of being an entrepreneur, which is a French

goods. This may result in new organizations or may be part of revitalizing mature organizations in

Entrepreneurs have a nurturing quality and are willing to take charge of, and watch over a venture
until it can stand alone. They have an acceptance of responsibility. They are morally, legally, and
mentally accountable for their ventures. Some entrepreneurs may be driven more by altruism than
by self interest. They reward orientation and have a desire to achieve, work hard and take
responsibility, but also want to be rewarded for their efforts; rewards can be in forms other than
money, such as recognition and respect. They are optimistic and live by the philosophy that this is
the best of times, and that anything is possible. They have an orientation to excellence and often
desire to achieve something outstanding that they can be proud of. They have strong organization
and are good at bringing together the components of a venture. They want to make a profit; but the
profit serves primarily as a meter to gauge their success and achievement. The demand theory holds
that entrepreneurs emerge out of the combination of entrepreneurial opportunities and people who
are well positioned to take advantage of them. Anyone who encounters the right conditions might
become an entrepreneur, if they find themselves in a position where they find a valuable problem
that they alone can solve. An entrepreneur is a person who

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Single Parenting...
A single parent could feel like a mouse racing on a wheel, where she/he is continually running,
trying to maintain a proper household and raise healthy children. This is a statement from Victoria
Thompson. I do believe in this statement because for me single parents, unlike the married couple,
are having a hard time in dividing their time with their work and taking good care of their kids. So,
single parenting faces more disadvantages like the experience of economic hardship, negative
judgment of the community and the psychological effects on rearing children that make the family
and relation cycle really complicated.
Single parenting is about having a child without living with a partner or spouse. In historical events,
the major reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, their children may suffer bullying because of having only one parent. This can affect the
children s way of living. Kids who are bullied can experience negative physical, school, and
mental health issues. The child will not be able to do what he wants because he will be afraid to
socialize with other children. Second, a child with a single parent can compare their selves to the
other children who have married parents. A child may feel envious about not having a father/mother
to guide him/her. According to Paul R. Amato, Children living with single parents are exposed to
more stressful experiences and circumstances than being children living with continuously married
parents. This statement proves that single parents are having a hard time raising their children.
Lastly, the children living with a single parent can have a hard time expressing their feelings.
Children who don t see or feel the act of love between his/her parent can have a hard time
expressing their feelings with other person. Due to unseen acts of love, the child may be confused
on how he/she will show their feelings with other person. So instead of showing it, they are going

If the logical mind, isn t enough to create motivation within us! Should we then let emotions
decide what we should be doing? Should we use emotions to prioritize? This might look really
emotional, but let s just look at it by this; You start considering things, prioritizing them in a
logical manner; your logical brain assigns a separate part to specific priority, but you still
somewhere in between let your emotions empower you anyway, and sometimes it s even
unintentionally done. If you look at priorities in logical context, some part of you still won t
cooperate and stick to what heart says, ask yourself when is the last time you prioritize things in a
logical manner and end up sticking to them? And emotions will reassert themselves each... Show

If you are to feel these emotions, you are there. If you are not feeling these emotions, you re not

Honest Vino Case Summary
The report of Honest Vino s harvesters replacement frequency Summary This report will examine
why the company, Honest Vino, should replace the selected harvesters every 15 years rather than
every 10 years by Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s
details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and
compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions
must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every
15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with
replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two
projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into
annualised values which can be compared under this situation. The optimal option is the one with
higher AE when evaluating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, the calculative formula is: AE=NPV/{[1 1/(1+r)^n ]/r}. Additionally, the calculation of
NPV is based on the discounted cash flows. Compared with other DCF methods, AE considers the
time, the amount of value and the risk of the cash flows. Other DCF methods are not appropriate
for this situation. For example, the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method does not take the size of
investment into account and does not consider for replacement in investment. Another method is
Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not
consider magnitude of value. Therefore, AE is the most intuitionistic evaluation method to value
and compare mutually exclusive investments. It indicates the investment s NPV in an annualised
presentation, which takes into account timing, magnitude and discount rate.

HAITI : A GOVERNMENT OF THIEVES PRESIDENT WANTS POLICE BRASS FIRED!
Haitian President Jovenel Moise, a political novice sought to sag 14 high officials of the Haitian
Police Department. This news comes on the hill of an attack on the President s motorcade in the
north side of Haiti a few days ago where the people threw rocks at the president s motorcade a la
Maduro. The chief of the police, Mr. Michel Ange Gedeon was summoned to the Haitian National
Palace in Port au Prince accompanied by two aides. Mr. Gedeon was received by President Moise
flanked by Wilson Laleau and Ardouin Zephirin, two of his senior advisors. The Chief of the
Police was presented with a list of people the president demanded that he fire immediately, or else
he would ask the Haitian Senate to terminate him. The president reportedly told the chief: I control
the majority of the Senate and I will see to it that you are gone pronto.
This political faux pas by Jovenel Moise has raised eyes brows among international observers
especially members of the CORE Group, (a de facto caretaker of the Haitian Government) whose
members sought clarification from the President. Not since the fall of the Duvaliers that ... Show

Gold Standard Foreign Exchange Market
Gold Standard Foreign Exchange Market The gold standard is a monetary system in which the
standard economic unit of account is a fixed weight of gold. With the gold standard, the United
States economy would print currency that equaled a specific value of gold. Meaning, you could
cash in your money for a specified amount of gold because a unit of currency equals a specific
amount of gold. As stated in chapter 5 of International business, 10th edition, the gold exchange
standard, established at Bretton Woods after World War II, worked until the 1970 s when it
collapsed due to inflation and the surplus of U.S. dollars held outside the United States. They used

Smaller retailers would most likely be ruined in these types of transactions because of the lack
of knowledge and playing power when it comes to trading in a high risk format and are usually

could not spend what they wanted because the amount of currency in circulation had to
correspond to the amount of gold in reserve. President Nixon eliminated the gold standard in
1971. It was eliminated because the governments could not manipulate the money supply if it
was tied to gold. Once it was eliminated, governments could create as much Fiat money as they
wanted in order to conduct wars or any other big expenses. Fiat money is money that the
government has declared to be legal tender even though it has no actual value and is not backed
by reserves. As a result, the currency in circulation today does not have to be backed up by
anything. This is why we see trillion dollar deficits today. Politicians can spend what they want
regardless of the real economic downfalls that eventually have to be dealt with. Nowadays, on a
side note, foreign governments such as the Chinese and others finance our US debt. This means
most of debt the US government owns is owed to foreign investors. The answer to whether having

Brown was born the son of Owen Brown, a tanner, in the town of Torrington, Connecticut. The
Browns were conventional evangelicals, and John went to school in Massachusetts to become a
Congregationalist minister. Unfortunately he ran out of money and returned to his family and
opened his own tannery with his brother. He soon started a family and his tannery was growing

Pathology and Epidemiology of Anterior Poliomyelitis Essay
Anterior Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that attacks the anterior horn of the spinal cord.
Poliomyelitis translates to grey spinal matter inflammation. Polio is caused by a picorna virus that
enters the body through mucus membranes and then multiplies in the throat and being an
acidophile, can survive well in the stomach and small intestine. When viremia occurs and persists,
the virus will penetrate the capillary wall. Once this happens, it enters the central nervous system
and begins attacking motor neurons. Poliois tissue specific and will only multiply and attack
neurons. this strict neuronotropism and definite tissue specificity of poliomyelitisvirus is reflected

This is when viremia will occur and the virus will begin to spread. If it does not reach the central
nervous system then the patient will only have abortive poliomyelitis. They will have some flu
like symptoms and experience a full recovery. As the virus goes further, one may become
stricken with aseptic meningitis. This polio is considered non paralytic, has the same symptoms
as abortive poliomyelitis, and irritates the meninges. This causes back and neck pain and
stiffness but has a full recovery. The worst case scenario is paralytic poliomyelitis. This occurs
when the virus begins replicating in the brain stem and anterior horn causing cell destruction and
neurological damage in the form of paralysis. This is very rare and occurs in less than 2% of
infections. While paralysis of the legs is most common, it can affect the arms, or worse, spread to
the trunk. When the legs are affected, the patient is fitted with braces to help with recovery (Figure
1) If it continues and reaches bulbar polio, the brain stem becomes paralyzed and generally the
patient will die from asphyxiation. (Flynn) Almost 15 years later the iron lung was invented to help
people at this stage survive, but currently, there was nothing they could do.
One of the worst polio epidemics to hit the United States was in 1916 in the heart of New York
City. It infected 9,000 just in the city and kept spreading throughout the states to infect over 27,000.

Quebec s french citizens were going through a time of survival La Survivance where their

when the authority made the schools provide french education for only the two beginning years in

an act of treachery ( Homefront ). To make matter worse the government tried to fix this situation
by letting the parents of the children decide whether they wanted their child to be instructed in

Due to all these issues the Francophones wanted power so they could decide and give input

Melisman Vs. Freeman Summary
Stakeholders encase all individuals and groups who in one way or another are impacted by the
presence, successes, or failure of a business. Employees, suppliers, managers, the community,
customers, competition, the government, and stockholders are all considered, in the broadest
sense, to be stakeholders. Stockholders, unlike the rest, in addition to being stakeholders, are their
own little group. Stockholders are the owners or public and private limited companies. Companies
have the right to restrict ownership, and spread it over as few or as many individuals as they wish.
Stockholders own pieces of the company and with that have a vested interest in the financial
growth of the company. Money speaks, and in all cases, with the exception of eleemosynary
companies, the owners are most concerned with making profit. Together stakeholders and
stockholders comprise all crucial groups in businessaffairs. Business theories plot the two against
each other, as business can only be managed to favorably manage one of the two. Edward Freeman

Within the same idea, Freeman also pointed out that the same was true with customer service.

The Clarinet Essay
The clarinet s versatility makes it an ideal instrument for several genres of music. The most popular
genres use the clarinet because of its flexibility, virtuosity and ability to play in the extremes of the
instrument s range. It is a core member of the orchestra and blends well with woodwind, brass and
string instruments.
Jazz
Clarinets appear regularly in jazz ensembles. The laid back nature of the instrument allows the
clarinet to play with ease and nuance. These characteristics make it suitable for playing extended
solos and complex passages as the jazz ensemble works through modulations resulting in key
changes.
A famous type of jazz music, called Dixieland jazz, features the clarinet prominently. Dixieland jazz

Popular
Popular music uses the clarinet for background music and solos. The Beatles used the clarinet
extensively in songs. Two famous examples include When I m Sixty Four and Here Comes the

Another famous group by the name of Muse wrote a song for bass clarinet solo titled I belong to
you. Small popular bands find that the clarinet is a suitable addition to the standard orchestration of
guitar, voice and percussion.
Klezmer
Klezmer music s roots go back to the immigrants to the United States in 1880. The genre was
initiated in Eastern Europe but the commonly known music that goes by the name of Klezmer
music wasn t initiated until musicians emigrated to the United States. Klezmer music is ideal for
the clarinet and features the clarinet in solo passages along with a keyboard instrument known as
the dulcimer, violin, viola, bass, small drum and sometimes included flute and trumpet.

The Disappointment By Virginia Woolf Essay
Virginia Woolf once wrote that All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of
Aphra Behn ... for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds (66). Since then, it
seems that the Restoration author has been deemed the one of first true feminists. Many argue
that this is apparent both in her being the first woman author to support herself with her writing
as well as her critique of gender and their assigned roles within her works. And while Behn has
without a doubt inspired countless women to take up the arts in similar ways, regarding her
political views, she may not have been the best advocate for all women. Conservative in her
views, it is her acceptance of the divine right of kings as well as the superiority of the aristocracy
that calls into question if she fits into the label feminist as we give it today. Contrasting Aphra Behn
s poem, The Disappointment, against her renowned novel, Oroonoko, reveals the author s
prejudices both in terms of class as well as race, especially in regards to their power. For while the
lower class, English shepherdess represents a character on the cusp of sexual liberation; the
virtuous, African noble woman is often left at the will of the men in her life. The fate of these
two women are very much reflective of their status in society. Yet critics have failed to see how
Behn links Cloris sexuality as well as Imoinda s oppression are linked to class as well as race.

Reincarnation Is A Belief Of The Soul After Death
Reincarnation is a belief that has existed since ancient times. Not everybody believes in the theory,
but it is also the basis of some religions. Reincarnation is the rebirth of the soul after death, and it
is believed to happen to everyone. Some people even have memories of their past lives unlike
others. Reincarnationis an intriguing belief that could explain what happens to people after death.
I.A.
The one person who started the theory of reincarnation is unknown, but there are a few religions
believed to have started the theory in ancient times. Many Americans like to think of reincarnation
as a fantasy of supernatural Buddhists, Hindus, and aboriginal tribes, but there are many more
religions whose teachings say to believe. First, the subject of reincarnation comes up in the
traditions of India. Second, it is one of the core beliefs of hinduism Hindus have always believed in
the theory ( Reincarnation ). Next, many people claim ancient Egyptians taught reincarnation. It is
also believed to be in ancient Greek mythology ( Reincarnation Mark ). Another believed culture to
have studied reincarnation in the early ages was the Greek Pre socratics. Finally, the religion,
Jainism, mentions reincarnation very early in their culture ( Reincarnation ).
I.B.
Many people know of reincarnation, but are not informed on the whole topic. First, reincarnation is
simply dying, and then living again. It is a religious/ philosophical concept that the soul and spirit

The Importance Of Ethnic Minorities
Society consists of complex processes which affect different groups in different ways and some
groups, for various reasons, can experience high rates of disadvantage and oppression. Multiple
aspects of a person s identity can create significant bias, resulting in disproportionate treatment.
Young black males for example, especially those from lower socio economic backgrounds, suffer
discrimination considerably more on the basis of their different attributes; being young, male and
belonging to an ethnic minority groupwhilst a status of being from poorer backgrounds further
disadvantages their opportunities and their position in society (Solanke, 2009). Intersectional
frameworks play a key role by enabling a deeper insight into social institutions and practices
concerning ethnic minorities and social problems which arise through inequality. The way
institutions, such as the criminal justice system and the police, deal with ethnic minority groups
contributes to ongoing stigma and discrimination, especially that of young males as their actions
influence external perceptions of the general public towards ethnic minorities, thus allowing for
continued racial abuse and discrimination. This essay will focus on the disparities of young black
and minority ethnic (BME) males in the criminal justice system and identify intersectional
influences overrepresentation within the system in order to recognise the inequalities these people
face and promote social justice.

The Titanic Blame
The Titanic sunk because of one person and that person is Captain Smith. Smith basically killed
1,503 people when there was enough life jackets for all 2,208 people. In the morning 300 more
people were pulled out of the sea.Captain smith is the one that is responsible for the sinking of
the Titanic because he ignored calls for help, ignored the ice warnings, and he was sleeping on
the job. It might seem that Smith is not responsible because the captain never learned the Morse
code, however he did ignore the ice warnings. As a captains job he should be responsible to learn
the Morse code before he sails or steers a ship that way if there was a accident he could send
Morse code for himself. According to ultimate Titanic.com for

Merlet s Film Artemisia
Director Agnes Merlet s film, Artemisia , tells the story of the Italian Baroque painter Artemisia
Gentileschi and her relationship with her teacher. Merlet s take on the story is one that endorses the
student teacher romance; as well as promoting Gentileschi s feminism and portraying her as a
strong, individual character. The movie is successful in depicting both the intensity of student
teacher relationship, and Artemisia s independent will. Nevertheless, at times the relationship
between Tassi and Artemisia seems more Hollywood like than realistic, which at times degrades
Artemisia s character by making her seem injudicious.
The acting in the film was especially vigorous, and effective. Actress Valentina Cerviaccurately

The Pros And Cons Of Year-Round Schooling
They do not view YRE as a calendar configuration for space, achievement, or enrichment, but rather
as a part of the transformation toward a philosophy of long continuous learning. (Guthrie). One of
the main purposes of Year Round Schooling is to lower the break time between school sessions.
This causes children to have a better chance of retaining the knowledge that they learned from the
previous year (Wyoming Tribune Eagle). Year round schools consist of the same amount of school
days, 180 days, the difference is that it is spread out over 12 months instead of the original 10.
When the original school schedule was made, it was made for families who farmed in the summer.

Since this is a controversial school schedule due to the shorter summer break, each school system
should have a string of schools (elementary, middle, and high school) try the schedule out for five
years and track the improvement throughout the years. Teachers no longer feel as if they are on
the edge of a breakdown because of the new system. Since the teachers and students are in school
for nine weeks have a week of break, they can know look forward to up to two or three weeks of
break. With the cut down on the summer break to add to the other breaks throughout the year,
students have a better chance of retaining knowledge. It would be beneficial for schools to switch
to the year round school schedule because the teachers are happier and not on the verge of a
breakdown, the breaks are longer, and the students retain the knowledge from the previous

Child abuse and neglect happens in a variety of situations, for an array of reasons. Children are
infrequently subject to one form of abuse at a time. Adults can experience a range of

Lucretius and Plato on the Mortality of the Soul
Patrick McCleery
Essay I: Lucretius and Plato on the Mortality of the Soul
In this essay it will be argued that the soul is mortal and does not survive the death of the body. As
support, the following arguments from Lucretius will be examined: the proof from the atomic
structure of the soul, the proof from parallelism of mind and body, the proof from the sympatheia of
mind and body, and the proof from the structural connection between mind and body. The following
arguments from Plato will be used as counterarguments against Lucretius: the cyclical argument, the
affinity argument, the argument from the form of life, and the recollection argument. It will be
shown that Plato s premises lack validity and that Lucretius ... Show more content on

The next argument from Lucretius is the proof from sympaethia of mind and body. The argument
from medicine is an example of this type of argument. The argument from medicine states that the
mind can be cured by medicine just like the body, which is mortal. Since that which is immortal
cannot be altered in any way, it could not be cured. Since the mind can be cured, the mind (soul) is
not immortal. The affinity argument from Plato could be seen as a counterargument. The affinity
argument states that the soul resembles that which is invisible and divine, while the body
resembles the visible and corporeal. Since the invisible and divine outlasts the visible and corporeal,
the soul must outlast the death of the body. This argument fails in a number of ways, but in relation
to Lucretius, no reason is given for why the soul cannot resemble the visible and corporeal, as
Lucretius demonstrates in the sympaethia arguments.

B: To be cured requires alteration
C: The mind (soul) can be altered

Criminology And Philosophy Of Detective Fiction
Criminology and Philosophy in Detective Fiction Detective fiction consists of various genres that
exemplify the intersection of criminology and philosophy. Criminology components can be applied
to perpetrators of the crime and their motives even though they are fictional. In a similar manner,
the motive and overall story also exemplify components of philosophy. More specifically, the two
detective fictiongenres of Locked Room stories and Hoist on their Own Petards stories portray
crime and perpetrators in relation to philosophy. For example, the detective fiction story, The
Leopold Locked Room, written by Edward D. Hoch, exemplifies Hegel s master versus slave
theory and components of Hegel s recognition of self while also demonstrating social bonds theory
and choicelearning theory. Peter Lovesey s detective fiction story, The Secret Lover, also consists
of both philosophy and criminology as it demonstrates Hegel s master versus slave theory,
metaphysics, object petite x, social bonds theory, and qualities of an organized killer.
The Leopold Locked Room Hoch s story, The Leopold Locked Room, is part of the locked room
genre and demonstrates many different aspects of both criminology and philosophy. The basis of
this story concerns Captain Leopold who is framed by his ex wife, Monica, for her own murder.
Monica develops an elaborate scheme during her fifteen years apart from Leopold and puts her
plan into action with the help of a fake doctor named Dr. Felix

Sex Drugs And Roll Essay
Sex, drugs and rock and roll. These were the values of the young generation of the mid 1960 s.
This generation was pushing the limits of sexual, social, and political inhibitions and behind the
force of their hippie love was the engine of psychedelic rock and roll music. This genre of rock
music is inspired by the counterculture scene of the 1950 s and 60 s and attempts to capture the
mind altering feelings and emotions attached to psychedelic drugs. The first group to advertise
themselves as psychedelic rockwas the 13th Floor Elevators from Texas, at the end of 1965.
However, the partnership of drugs and music goes back much further than that. The Beat
Generation writers in the second half of the 1950 s, such as William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac and
Allen Ginsberg, used and wrote about drugs like cannabis and Benzidrine, which popularized and
raised more awareness of drug use. The culture of drug use had long pervaded jazz... Show more

California also contributed to the progression of psychedelic music, such as New York City,
Detroit, Chicago, and even Austin, Texas. Psychedelic music was also becoming more prominent
in the UK around 1966. Bands like Pink Floyd, Traffic, Soft Machine, Cream, and The Jimi

incorporating more drug references and psychedelic elements. For example, The Rolling Stones

Drugs In Sports Analysis

America s Growing Coffee Since Colonial Times
Rwandans have been growing coffee since colonial times, but until 1999 the product was classed
below Grade C, making it unsalable on the global markets.[1][2] The farmers did not have the
means to wash and prepare their coffee cherries to specifications in a timely manner. Buyers paid
US$0.33 per kilogram, a price that kept the farmers poor.[3]
In 1999, 220 coffee growers formed an association in the Maraba district (part of the former Butare
Province) to tackle this problem. Many of these farmers had lost family members during the 1994
genocide, while others had husbands in prison, accused of participating in the killings and due to
face trial in the traditional gacaca courts.[4] They named the association Abahuzamugambi, a

PEARL started working with Abahuzamugambi in February 2001 to improve the coffee quality to
standards required by the specialty coffee market in the United States.[5]
The coffee farmers of Maraba first needed a washing station to remove sugar from the coating of
the coffee bean, under the skin. If this sugar is not removed within 12 hours of picking, the flavour
of the coffee is impaired.[6] They built the first station in July 2001 in the Cyarumbo sector, close
to the main road, with funding from UNR, the Office des Cultures Industrielles du Rwanda (OCIR
CafГ©), ACDI/VOCA, and the Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Rwanda (ISAR). The
opening was late in the harvest season, so only 200 kilograms (441 lb) of that year s harvest were
suitable for washing. However, the results were reasonably good, and the station was upgraded to
allow more coffee to be processed in 2002. To bring mineral water from Mount Huye to the
upgraded station, ACDI/VOCA helped fund a pipeline, which opened in March 2002.[5]
A new certification system was introduced for the 2002 harvest to ensure that beans brought to the
station were of suitable quality. Around half of the Abahuzamugambi membership attained the
certification, which allowed the cooperative to look for serious buyers in the specialty markets of
Europe and North America.[5]

Essay about A Knight s Tale
The Canterbury Tales begin with The Knight s Tale; which chronicles the tragic love triangle of
Palamon, Arcite and Emilye. The following tale, which is told by the Miller, is also a love
triangle, and is in many ways similar to the Knight s tale. However, the Miller s tale sharply
contrasts the Knight s, almost parodying it. The Knight s tale is a tragic of nobility, heritage and
focuses heavily on mythology and astrology, whereas The Miller s tale is a comedy, focusing on
the common man and his less civilized, and bawdy lifestyle. The two stories mirror one another in
many ways, but are presented from completely different sides of the spectrum. When the two tales
are looked at closely, it doesn t seem to be a coincidence that they occur... Show more content on

Nicholas does not share Palamon or Arcite s passion for true love, and comes up with a simple
hoax to trick Alison s unintelligent husband John into leaving he and Alison alone for a night.
The Miller s story continues to stray from the Knight s as a third luster is presented for Alison s
affection; Absalon, a parish clerk. As opposed to an epic battle for courtship, the story devolves
into slapstick humor, with Absalon kissing Alison s rear, and burning Nicholas in attempted
revenge. The balance of the love triangle is also thrown awry in the Miller s tale. Not only if a
fourth man present, Alison s wife John (who is not even included in any form of romance
throughout the tale) but Alison s affection seem to only be for Nicholas. She is easily seduced by
Nicholas and has little, to no romantic interest in Absalon, fooling him into kissing her rear and
then laughing about it with Nicholas. These elements merely add to the Miller s tale of
perversion, distancing and parodying itself from the Knight s tale of honor and true love.
Throughout the Knight s tale, there is an aura of divinity present, with destiny being almost
predetermined. The Greek gods intervene in the mortal realm, and the prayers of Palamon, Arcite
and Emelye are all answered by the respective gods prayed too. Fate is practically inescapable,
with the universe being in a perfect order from the beginning.

  • 2. Albert Bandura s Social Psychology Although the study of psychology has been going on for centuries, many of the first psychologists have done their work in the field, and passed. There are many people who thrive and are in awe of the work done by the previous psychologists that these people have decided to dedicate their life in this study, and continue learning how the human mind works. After looking into many modern day psychologist, I chose Albert Bandura, who studies social psychology. Social psychology deals with social interactions, including its origins and the effects on the individual. Some previous psychologists who have studied social psychology would be Phillip Zambardo and B.F Skinner. Albert Bandura has devoted his life to the study of psychology. Although... After finishing high school, Bandura worked for Yukon filling holes in the Alaskan Highway. Bandura had noticed that most of the men he worked with had escaped from things in the world such as the draft board and even probation officers. This was when he had noticed that there are so many different characteristics of people in the world which made him interested in the psychopathology of life. Right after working for Yukon, Bandura went onto the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Considering his only way to get to school was to commute with medical students who started the day early, he had no choice but to take classes that started in the morning, which was psychology. His intended major was biology, but in the end, this one psychology class captivated his interests, so he changed his major to psychology. In 1949, three years later, Bandura graduated with a psychology degree. Being the top psychology student, he won the Bolocan Award in Psychology. Next in his journey, Bandura went onto the University of Iowa for his graduate study of psychology. In 1952, he ordained with his PhD. While studying for his doctorate, he became interested in the learning theory and behaviorists. In 1953, Bandura took a job at Stanford University as a psychology ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Holistic And Holistic Nursing Care Essay Holistic Nursing Care Norma Valdez Rosa South University Online Complementary Alternative Methods Introduction Holistic nursing is defined as all nursing practice that has healing the whole person as its goal (Dossey, 2012). Holistic nursing does not replace medicinal practice; rather, it incorporates the whole patient into the nursing care plan with the outcome being that of a healthier patient. Holistic Nurse Self Care is the most important core value of the Holistic Nursing Care standards because of the importance of nurse self care to the delivery of quality patient care. In order to be able to meet all the needs of the patient, a nurse needs to be prepared in mind, body and spirit. Holistic Nurse Self Care The Holistic Nursing Care standards are based on five core values: holistic philosophy and education; holistic ethics, theories and research; holistic nurse self care; holistic communication, therapeutic environment and cultural competence; and holistic caring process. In my opinion, Holistic Nurse Self Care ranks as the most important value that should be incorporated into the Holistic nurse s practice. As a nurse, I feel that nurses have to take care of themselves in order to be able to take care of their patients and deliver high quality care to them. Self care and self awareness are important to prevent nurse burnout which can lead to depression, anger, feelings of incompetence, difficulties in one s home, absenteeism and staff ... • 4. The Characters Of Calpurnia As A Mockingbird What does it take to be considered a mother? Does it take courage? Strength? Love? Or are you only a mother if you give birth to a child or officially adopt a child? Being there for someone emotionally, mentally, and physically are the characteristics of a good mother. A woman or even a man can take the role of being a protector and guardian of someone who was not necessarily born into or chosen for their family. Calpurnia does an excellent job of taking the role as Jem and Scout s motherly figure. She has rules and shows the kids discipline, teaches them life lessons and supports and comforts them as they grow up. Calpurnia is Jem and Scout s African Americancook who has been with their family since before their motherdied. Scout said that She had been with us ever since Jem was born, and I had felt her tyrannical presence as long as I could remember. Our mother died when I was two, so I never felt her absence (6). Calpurnia displays motherly actions by disciplining Jem and Scout just like they were her own kids. Her hand was as wide as a bed slat and twice as hard (6) explained Scout. This quote signifies that Scout knows how her hand feels and she was getting a physical punishment. Calpurnia tends to discipline Scout more than Jem because Scout acts out and is the worst behaved child of the siblings. She was ordering me out of the kitchen, asking me why I couldn t behave as well as Jem when she knew he was older, and calling me home when I wasn t ready to come (6) Scout states. Scout and Calpurnia s relationship is just like a mother and daughter relationship because they fight and make up and Calpurnia disciplines Scout and Scout gets mad at her. Page 75 Chapter 3 states Calpurnia bent down and kissed me. I ran along, wondering what had come over her. She had wanted to make up with me, that was it. She had always been too hard on me, she had at last seen the error of her fractious ways, she was sorry and too stubborn to say so. Calpurnia also accepts and claims them as her own children because on page 118 she said, I don t want anybody sayin I don t look after my children. Calpurnia s discipline is tough, but it relates back to the values and lessons that she wants to teach her children. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Loss Of Faith And The Decline Of Church Attendance Secularization the loss of faith and the decline in church attendance is something that has left historians asking why this occurred and at what point in history did the people of Great Britain lose their faith, add in the sexual revolution of the swinging sixties the development of the oral contraception pill and immigration to Great Britain, which brought together people from other colonies and with them they brought their religion, the connection between any of these factors if there is one has and will be debated for years to come. Historian Callum Brown has used several other historians, teachers and authors work to compile a paper on the above topic titled Sex, Religion and the single Woman c.1950 1975: The Importance of a Short... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mr Brown puts the date at 1963 and believes that, the 1960s saw the British people going to church less and less, whilst other religious denominations thrived, the Christian benchmark of moral such as attending church and Sunday school, baptizing children, marrying in church has all but disappeared. The decline is attributed to the decentring of rigid moral codes such as increased sexual freedom and freedom for diverse sexualities, greater gender equality and a new tolerance of religious and ethnic difference . Whilst Brown believes that sex and the lack of religion are interlinked there are others that show that the origins of sex and religion and the moral views people held go back before the 1960s, with the history of sex going back centuries with the historian Faramerz Dabhoiwala writing, on the banks of the Thames in 1612 the towns court house is in session dealing with a routine criminal case that of an unmarried man and woman, who have been arrested and brought before the court, interrogated, put on trial and found guilty by a jury of men , their crime was having sexual relations. For sex was illegal outside of marriage and was seen by the church along with ordinary people as something that was punishable unless the couple was married, as illicit relations were angered God, prevented salvation, damaged personal relations and undermined social order . • 6. Brady Vs. Maryland Case Brady Vs Maryland Brady vs. Maryland was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the prosecution had withheld from the criminal defendant certain evidence. The defendant faced his conviction, arguing it had been contrary to the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. Maryland prosecuted Brady and a companion, Boblit, for murder. Brady admitted being involved in the murder, but claimed Boblit had done the actual killing. The prosecution had withheld a written statement by Boblit admitting that he had committed the act of killing by himself. The Maryland Court of Appeals had confirmed the conviction and remanded the case for a retrial only on the question of punishment. The Supreme Court held that withholding exculpatory evidence violates due process where the evidence is material either to guilt or to punishment ; and the court determined that under Maryland state law the withheld evidence couldn t have exculpated the defendant but was material to the level of punishment he would be given. Hence the Maryland Court of Appeals ruling was confirmed. A defendant s request for Brady disclosure refers to the holding of the Brady case, and the various state and federal cases that interpret its obligation that the prosecution discloses material exculpatory evidence to the defense. Exculpatory evidence is a reasonable probability that his conviction or sentence would have been different had these materials been disclosed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If this is true, then black money generated every year must be around Rs 400,000 crore or $ 80 billion. This is a huge amount, more than the entire budget of the government at the Centre. We have a government that spends about Rs 350,000 crore a year, most of it on itself, and asks for accounts of every paisa. On the other side, we have black money worth Rs 400,000 crore every year, which is just guesswork, and there are no accounts. Similarly, payments for the sale and purchase of immovable property, various kinds of consumer goods and services beyond a certain stipulated amount should also be made mandatory through banking channels. While doing so, the Finance Minister will not only be plugging one of the biggest loopholes leading to tax evasion but would also reduce the need for ready cash and hence the printing of currency notes on a large scale. The biggest chunk of black money is invested in real estate and gold. The circulation of black money in the housing sector is beyond imagination. Since the house tax is based on the current purchase price only one fourth of the money is paid by cheque and the rest in unaccounted cash. Even an honest buyer of flats / houses is forced to pay in black money if he wants to acquire one. History: The period 1946 61 was one of the intense creativity. A black or parallel economy emerged both in the wake of the Second World War and the expansion of the economic activity in the post independence period. Incentives were provided through the taxation laws to promote savings and investment; this made the tax laws more complex. Then, there was the need for larger revenues to finance the plans of economic development. Scott Weiland, former singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, struggled with substance abuse throughout his whole life. When he was young, he showed an interest in singing. In high school he formed his first band Mighty Joe Young, which eventually became Stone Temple Pilots. They were one of the biggest bands of the 90 s. Scott first got into his drug habits in high school, and was sent to rehab when his parents found drugs in his room. In 1995, after his band s second album release, he was arrested for drug possession. This brush with the law did little to quell Weiland s appetite for drugs (Scott Weiland Biography). The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl Named Maria is a short essay in which the award winning poet and professor of English, Judith Ortiz Cofer, wishes to inform and persuade the audience that labels and stereotypes can be humiliating and hurtful. The author targets the general public, anyone that doesn t understand that putting someone in a box because of a stereotypeis wrong. Cofer starts out the essay by telling the reader a story with a drunk man who re enacted Maria from the West Side Story, and how angry that made her feel. She continues by explaining how she grew up in the United Statesbeing a Puerto Rican girl trying to fit in, but always being labeled as an island girl. Cofer carries on by explaining why Latin people get dressed and act a certain way. Then she recalls some more stereotypical incidents. In The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl Named Maria Cofer shows the reader that Latin women are misrepresented in society and in the media, using the rhetorical appeals ethos, logos and pathos as well as allusions to popular culture and personal experience. Cofer starts the essay in the present, but then she takes the reader in her past by giving background on her childhood and the events that followed, in chronological order, until she became an adult. Compare And Contrast The Lamb And The Tyger The Differences and Similarities of a Lamb and a Tyger Poetry is a form of writing that lets the writer have the ability to express themselves in a creative way. This allows the reader to be moved in a way that other literary works cannot. It s no wonder that poetry has been around for a very long time. With the likes of Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and Homer, who helped shaped poetryin some way, we often forget those who created wonderful works of art. One of those writers is William Blake. Much of Blake s inspirations for his poems came from his childhood. Blake had begun having visions when he was around the age of four. He had even once claimed that he had seen God standing right next to his window. Aside from his visions, Blake had a religious upbringing, in which his parents had treated his visions as a gift. It s easy for one to assume that his upbringing had a huge influence in his poems, as often times one can feel a sense of religious undertones in his writing. To help explore this concept, I will compare and contrast two of Blake s works, The Tygerand The Lamb. In this essay, I will examine and analyze both poems structures, the writing styles of both poems, and give my personal opinion on each of the poems purpose. When you first look at both poems, you realize that The Tyger is longer than The Lamb, with The Lamb having only two stanzas while The Tyger has six stanzas. The another difference in both poems, in terms of their length, is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They reward orientation and have a desire to achieve, work hard and take responsibility, but also want to be rewarded for their efforts; rewards can be in forms other than money, such as recognition and respect. A single parent could feel like a mouse racing on a wheel, where she/he is continually running, trying to maintain a proper household and raise healthy children. This is a statement from Victoria Thompson. I do believe in this statement because for me single parents, unlike the married couple, are having a hard time in dividing their time with their work and taking good care of their kids. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every 15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into annualised values which can be compared under this situation. Other DCF methods are not appropriate for this situation. Another method is Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not consider magnitude of value. Employees, suppliers, managers, the community, customers, competition, the government, and stockholders are all considered, in the broadest sense, to be stakeholders. Stockholders, unlike the rest, in addition to being stakeholders, are their own little group. Stockholders are the owners or public and private limited companies. • 40. The Disappointment By Virginia Woolf Essay Virginia Woolf once wrote that All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of Aphra Behn ... for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds (66). Since then, it seems that the Restoration author has been deemed the one of first true feminists. Many argue that this is apparent both in her being the first woman author to support herself with her writing as well as her critique of gender and their assigned roles within her works. And while Behn has without a doubt inspired countless women to take up the arts in similar ways, regarding her political views, she may not have been the best advocate for all women. Conservative in her views, it is her acceptance of the divine right of kings as well as the superiority of the aristocracy that calls into question if she fits into the label feminist as we give it today. Contrasting Aphra Behn s poem, The Disappointment, against her renowned novel, Oroonoko, reveals the author s prejudices both in terms of class as well as race, especially in regards to their power. For while the lower class, English shepherdess represents a character on the cusp of sexual liberation; the virtuous, African noble woman is often left at the will of the men in her life. Since that which is immortal cannot be altered in any way, it could not be cured. Since the mind can be cured, the mind (soul) is not immortal. The affinity argument from Plato could be seen as a counterargument. PEARL started working with Abahuzamugambi in February 2001 to improve the coffee quality to standards required by the specialty coffee market in the United States.[5] The coffee farmers of Maraba first needed a washing station to remove sugar from the coating of the coffee bean, under the skin. If this sugar is not removed within 12 hours of picking, the flavour of the coffee is impaired.[6] They built the first station in July 2001 in the Cyarumbo sector, close to the main road, with funding from UNR, the Office des Cultures Industrielles du Rwanda (OCIR CafГ©), ACDI/VOCA, and the Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Rwanda (ISAR).
