The Mosaic Covenant And The Abrahamic Covenant
Biblical covenant is legal term denoting a formal and legally binding declaration of benefits to be
given by one party to another, with or without conditions attached. (Arnold) Biblical covenant is a part
of God holy plan and they reveal enteral plan. Each covenant plays a part of God plan of salvation.
The Mosaic covenant showed that being saved by works was impossible and reveals God s Holy
character the need of a savior. The Mosaic Covenant was like the vassal treaties of the ancient Near

Moses alone, however, shall come near to the LORD, but they shall not come near, nor shall the
people come up with him. Exodus 24:2) The Mosaic Covenant is established at Mount Sanai when
Moses is given the Ten Commandments.
Mosaic covenant is sealed when Moses begins reading the book aloud to them so all could hear Book
of the Covenant. Then they seal the covenant with an oral agreement. Then he took the book of the
covenant and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, all that the LORD has spoken we will
do, and we will be obedient! Exodus 24:7). Than once they agree to faithful obey the covenant they
seal it with a blood oath. So, Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the
blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.
Exodus 24:6) Book of covenant also known as the law would be referred to as the Torah. The purpose
of the Law was proved that it was impossible for mankind to achieve the law and the need of Jesus
Christ s. The Torah was provided so that Israel would know how properly worship and serve God.
God wanted to make the nation of Israel completely different than the surrounding nations who
worshiped demons. The law shows how through the moral law, man could see God s holy character as
well as his own sinfulness and the infinite gulf that separates God and man. Bible org If they faithfully

Student Satisfaction With The School Of Public Service At...
Introduction The topic chosen to analyze in this needs assessment is student satisfaction with the
School of Public Service at DePaul University (SPS). The needs assessment will consist of eight main
sections; defining the problem, determining users and uses, identifying the target population,
describing the service environment, discerning and assessing the needs of the organization
respectively, communicating the findings, and implementing a pilot program.
Defining the problem The problems identified from this needs analysis derived from the examination
of the Spring 2015 Student Survey and identifying the service environment of the School of Public
Service. Ninety two respondents responded to the survey and four of those respondents failed to
complete the survey. The problem the School of Public Service we are examining is lack of student
satisfaction in SPS. Student satisfaction will be define through the extent students are willing to
recommend SPS to prospective students, create relationships with Faculty Mentors, and use resources
from Depaul University for guidance on employment. Student s satisfaction with the program comes
hand in hand with how likely students are to recommend SPS to future students. Twenty nine noted
they would strongly recommend the program, thirty two mentioned they would recommend the
program, twenty four students said they would recommend the program, with some reservations, three
students would not recommend the program (Einolf,

Oriental Rug Research Paper
Oriental rugs are very beautiful and generally very expensive. If you have an oriental rug in your
home, you need to create a first aid kit for your rug. that way, if anything every gets spilled on your
beautiful and valuable oriental rug, you will have all the tools on hand to clean up the stain right away
before it sets in and ruins your rug. Here is what you need to put into your kit, and what it can be used
for. Cloth The first thing you want to put into your first aid oriental rug kit is some clean white clothes
that are very absorbent. Microfiber clothes are very absorbed and would make a great addition to your
kit. White clothes are better than colored cloth because you can see if the stain you are working on has
been absorbed. You ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again, white is the preferred color so you can more easily see the stain you are trying to pick up.
You can use this to blot the stain. Eye Dropper The third thing you want to put into your kit is an eye
dropper. An eye dropper will allow you to apply whatever cleaning solution you are using in a very
precise manner. Due to the sensitive nature of oriental rugs, this tool will help you to only apply the
cleaning solution to the stain. Natural Enzyme Liquid Detergent The fourth thing you need is some
natural enzyme liquid detergent. A natural liquid detergent will be more gently on your oriental rug.
You can mix the natural liquid detergent with water, and use it to clean a wide variety of stains. You
can just put the detergent in there, or you can mix up a solution of natural detergent with water in a
spray bottle or container. White Vinegar Solution The fifth thing you need to do is create a white
vinegar solution. Mix together a solution that contains two parts of water to one part white vinegar.
This solution is very alkaline on stains. It works well on a wide variety of stains, and should be where
you head to next if simple water and soap does not remove the

Xenotransplantation
Xenotransplantation Imagine that your closest relative is in need of an organ transplant. Would you be
willing to give up one of your organs to save their life? Or would you make them wait for an organ
donor? A new biotechnology called Xenotransplantation is currently being used to solve this dilemma
in order to save the lives of countless people around the world. Firstly, what is Xenotransplantation?
Xenotransplantation is defined as the transfer of living cells, organs and tissues from one species to
another. Today, we are growing genetically engineered pigs to provide organs to humans who need
them. The diagram to the right shows the process of the organ transplant. Xenotransplantation offers

Effects Of Teen Pregnancy On Children s Reproductive System
The United States has the highest rate of unplanned teen pregnancies amongst the most developed
countries in the world. Approximately 750,000 teens will become pregnant this year and with the lack
of resources to terminate those unwanted pregnancies more than ninety two percent of those teens will
become parents before graduating high school. Plan B one step emergency contraception is now
available over the counter as of August 2013 an although there has been a great debate on whether or
not the open availability to teens as young as fifteen will do more harm than good it does seem that the
positives have out weighted the negative since lowering the age restriction and making it available
over the counter. Since talk about raising the age limit back to seventeen with a prescription and
turning it back over to pharmacy counters the controversy has resurfaced. The subject of harm Plan b
may or may not be contributing to women s reproductive system as well as allowing minors to put
themselves at risk without their parents knowledge have been main topics of decision. Plan B one step
has been proven to be safe and effective and has minimized teen pregnancy since being approved in
2013.
Plan B emergency contraception is an oral pill used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. If
used properly, which means as soon as possible up 72 hours of unprotected sex pregnancy is not to be
expected. Starting in the early 1960s emergency contraception was only used in rape victims to

The Horn Of Africa
Hamadryas baboons currently inhabit Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea comprising the
location we call the Horn of Africa (Swedell 2006). Their habitation can also be found in the
southwestern portion of Arabian Peninsula and Saudi Arabia (Swedell 2006). The Hamadryas baboons
sometimes called desert baboon lives in dry, desert like environment that distinguish them from other
types of baboons (i.e mountain baboons and savanna baboons). Belonging to the genus Papio, part of
the subfamily Cercopithecinae, five known species of baboons (Hamadryas, Guinea, Olive, and
Yellow) all are distributed across the African continent (Swedell 2006). Each species territory consists

Ehardt, T.). In conservation, Hamadryas baboons are in Yangudi Rassa National Park, Harar Wildlife
Sanctuary, Awash Valley, and Northern Eritrea (Gippoliti, S. Ehardt, T.)
The diet and feeding behavior of the Hamadryas consist primarily of doum palm trees (Hypaene
thebaica), leaves, flowers, pods, seeds of Acacia Senegal, A. Mellifera, and Grewia berries (Swedell
2006). Their diet seems to consist of herbivorous foods but there are reports that Abyssinia hares
(Lepus Capensis Habessinicus), small mammals such as dik dik, and infants of larger ungulates such
as gazelles, are also a source of food for the Hamadryas (Swedell 2006). There are little to no food
competition between Hamadryas baboons due to the fact that food sources are sufficiently dispersed
and the population is divided into small foraging groups (Swedell 2006).
The estimated home range size of Hamadryas baboon is from 9.3 km2 to 28 km2 (Swedell
2006). This numerical estimate changes in relation to season (increase in home range during the wet
season allows for greater vegetation and food abundance and shorter home range in dry season with
decrease in abundance of food) (Swedell 2006).

How Long Has The Earth s Tilt Changes The Seasons
The earth s tilt changes the seasons every time it rotates around the sun.
The temperature is based on how far or how close the earth is to the sun.The earth s climate and the
winds in the atmosphere continue to change every day. Every year the winds change causing different
weather patterns to act on the solid earth. The earth s spin axis is tilted at 23.5 with respect to the
elliptic giving moderate seasons and preventing temperature extremes anywhere on earth.
Because of the earth s dynamic climate ,winds and atmospheric pressure systems experience constant
change. These fluctuations may affect how our planet rotates on it s axis. The earth s systems and its
response to natural and human induced changes, like global warming and greenhouse gases for the
better prediction of climate. Other motions of the atmosphere such as larger mass in one hemisphere
than the other hemisphere can lead to a wobble and the poles move. There are no forces that are acting
on it that would be strong enough to keep it moving with the ground. Each point on the Earth is not
the same distance from the axis of rotation, so the speed of rotation is 0 mph at the poles, and
increases to over 1000 mph at the equator. This means the atmosphere would have to be moving at
different speeds depending on where it was, which would result in a pressure gradient with highest
pressure at the poles and the lowest pressure at the equator. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Love Relationships Comparison between Today and...
Love is the basis of our existence. It affects our every moment, dreams, and hope for the future. Love
has caused wars, ended lives, toppled governments and has been expounded on by poets, musicians,
philosophers, and literates throughout the centuries. Research from Syracuse University shows that it
takes about a fifth of a second to fall in love and it affects almost every part of our body. Our brain
releases dopamine, a natural chemical that gives us energy and optimism. Love is similar to a drug and
can become an addiction because it affects our brain much like other drugs by triggering the dopamine

What Is The Rising Action In The Cask Of Amontillado
The Cask of AMontillado by Edgar Allan Poe is a short story in which the writer used the elements of
plot to make the story interesting, and give off a variety of signals or feelings to the reader. The rising
action becomes a pile of conflict when Poe hides the nature of the main character in order to make the
final outcome of the story even more shocking. The exposition, or setting up of the story gave the
reader a creepy vibe, which the author then used to pull the entire story together. The resolution of the
story made it very clear that the narrator had absolutely no remorse for the crime he committed. These
are all key points in the story that helped the author to create an interesting piece of literature that not
only excited, but enticed

New Hampshire Pros And Cons
New Hampshire was graciously founded on June 21,1788, for the record this was a little over 228
years ago. As for religion 35.15 percent are simply religious meaning they don t attend regular sunday
services, but they do believe that there is a God greater than us. Catholic Christians stand at 24
percent, meaning there probably aren t that much catholic churches. Here s proof, there are 1.327
million people living in the state of New Hampshire today. So if I divide 1.327 million by 100, that
equals to thirteen thousand two hundred seventy. Finally thirteen thousand two hundred seventy times
twenty four equals 318,480 people. Yes that may be a lot but compared to 1.327 million people, that is

The Disease Of Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a multisystem, inflammatory illness. It is caused by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi.
It is a vector borne infection (which means it is spread directly from one host to another) transmitted
specifically through the bite of an infected tick (Mayo Clinic: Lyme Disease Definition, Aug. 27,
2015). There are certain risk factors which can increase one s chance of contracting Lyme disease. For
example: where a person lives can heighten one s likelihood of getting this illness. Wherever deer or
white footed mice are high in population, ticks are likely to be as well, since these animals are their
main food source. Ticks also thrive in heavily wooded and grassy areas, so, if a person lives or works

8, 2006). Therefore, one s best protection against infection of this bacteria relies entirely on
preventative measures. First of all, avoid wooded, grassy areas, which generally have a high tick
population. Furthermore, if one must venture into such an area, cover up in light colored clothing to
improve one s ability to spot a tick and obstruct the tick s path to the skin. Tucking pant legs into the
top of one s socks is an effective measure, as is wearing hats and gloves, and sticking to trails as much
as possible. Secondly, invest in tick repellent; there are many chemical products, such as DEET, or
natural protections, like vinegar mixed with essential oil and water, available. Tick proof your
property by clearing away brush and tall grass. Also, be mindful that when you spend time outdoors
check yourself, your children, and pets frequently for ticks. Ticks like to burrow in dark, warm areas
that are difficult to spot: the underarm, groin, hair line and the back of the knee. Depending on what
stage a tick is in its life cycle, it will feed on its host for 3 10 days. Although, it has been reported that
the sooner a tick is removed,

Transformation In A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol was first published in London on the 19th of December 1843, the
novella was instantly popular and still is to this day. Dickens inspiration for the short story seems to
come from his childhood experiences and his sympathy for the poor. In the story a miserable old man,
Ebenezer Scrooge, is shown the error of his ways and what will come of it if he doesn t make drastic
changes. Various ghosts and spirits slowly transform him into a kinder more pleasant man. A
Christmas Carol is a powerful novella that uses symbolism like the children Ignorance and Want,
Scrooge s transformation, and Scrooges nephew Fred, to reinforce significant themes like social
isolation, rebirth, and family. Dickens wanted to show the theme of rebirth through Scrooges
transformation. Scrooge is changed from a humpy old man to a kinder nicer man, each stave
represents a step in the transformation process. In stave one, two men come into Scrooge s shop and
ask for a donation to help poor people in need, Scrooge gives them no money and asks why these
people are not in prisons or Union workhouses (Dickens 7). He feels by paying his taxes he has done
enough to help the poor. Scrooge goes on to say If they rather die...they had better do it and decrease
the surplus population (Dickens 7). But in stave 3, Scrooge sees that Tiny Tim, a young innocent boy,
will pass away in the future. Scrooge begs the second of the three spirits to spare his life, but the spirit

History Of The Chinatown Of San Francisco
As everyone knows, Chinese people are all around the world, and they do not like living with local

Chinatown. There are many Chinatown in this world; Chinatown may be located in London, UK,

I want to write about the Chinatown of San Francisco, because there are many historic things I can

here to build a railway, and they settled their home as soon as they first arrived in San Francisco. Now
the Chinatown of San Francisco is a famous tourist attraction, and it appears to be routine for foreign
travelers to visit Chinatown when they prepare to have a trip in San Francisco. It is now more and
more famous than ever before, even the Chinatown is as famous as Golden Gate Bridge. There is

The Analysis of Catholicism and the Artist Essay
James Joyce s novel A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man illustrates the confused state of a
generation split by religious divergence and thus lack of ability to evolve towards modernism. With
the incorporation of Protestant belief and ceremony by the English, traditional Catholic faith within
Ireland was challenged with alteration. This abrupt integration of Protestant worship illuminates the
strange inability of a post English Irish culture to advance into a modern more spiritual world, mostly
unrestricted by religious philosophies. Joyce illustrates how Irish culture has been ripped apart by its
own faith, not by that of the English. Through the incorporation of an opposing faith, England created
a sense of alertness within the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it was not long after that Henry would enforce a systematic four step process aimed at
bringing him more power over the Roman Catholic domination in which he had dissociated himself
earlier in his life. Such process started with the infiltration of a large British army of 2,300 soldiers
into Ireland, followed by the killing of all men within the Fitzgerald family. Furthermore, in 1536,
Henry enforced the Reformation upon Ireland, hoping to create a Protestant province loyal to the
Crown. And in 1541, whilst declaring himself King, Henry specified that all lands were to be
submitted to the Crown only to be returned if owners pledged their loyalty. Following King Henry s
reformation, Ireland underwent a series of misfortunes which daunted its most devote Catholics. In
1608, King James I allowed Protestants to take over catholic lands, in 1690 the battle of Boyne took
place, marked by William of Orange s conquering over Catholicism, 1692 brought with it laws against
catholic voting rights, the physical practice of the religion and ownership by its followers. And within
the years of 1845 49, those whom conjured the strength to stay devote would challenge the existence
of God when one million perished by way of the Great Potato Famine. In an almost inevitable manner,
after hundreds of years of suppression, the Easter Rising

Kant On Lying
Immanuel Kant, a philosopher who has strong opinions against lying has puzzled many critical
thinkers in philosophy. Kant creates a troubling situation on where a murderer is at the door asking
whether or not the victim, he or she is looking for is hiding and whether are not one should lie or tell
the truth about the victim s current hiding spot. An individual has a sense of inclination to do what is
right, however Kant is acknowledging that if one does testify where the victim is then one is surely
respecting the murderers intentions. Furthermore, the murderer s devious actions are now placed upon
the witness. In addition to this example, a Nazi is at the door wanting to know if one has seen or is
captivating any Jewish individuals. According ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meaning that a maxim is a principle of how one acts and how others should act too. According to
Kant, one should not be an exception to lie. In an event that one allegedly lies, and the victim was
coming out of their hiding spot, and the murderer encounters him while going away and perpetrates
his deed on him, then you can by right be prosecuted as the author of his death (8, 427). Still, one
cannot possibly have for seen those events. Under these circumstances, Kant insists the liar is still
partially responsible for the victim s downfall. This notion that is clearly irrational demonstrates how
little Kant has to argue about this topic.
Even if the truth was told and the deed finished, then responsibility was shared. However, Kant does
go and claims if one told the truth to the best of his knowledge, then neighbors might have come and
apprehended the murder while he was searching the house for his enemy and the deed would have
been prevented (8, 427). Although I agree with Kant up to a point, I cannot accept his overriding
assumption that lying to save a life is considered guilty by the civil

Essay on National Labor Relations Act
History
The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), also known as the Wagner Act, was enacted in Congress
in 1935 and became one of the most important legacies of the New Deal. Prior to the passage of the
NLRA, employers had been free to spy on, interrogate, discipline, discharge, and blacklist union
members. Reversing years of federal opposition, the statute guaranteed the right of employees to
organize labor unions, to engage in collective bargaining, and to take part in strikes. The act also
created a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to arbitrate deadlocked labor management disputes,
guarantee democratic union elections, and penalize unfair labor practices by employers. The law
applied to all employees involved in the interstate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More commonly, the union will obtain authorization cards from 30% of the employees of a company.
At this stage the union can now petition the National Labor Relations Board to have an election. For a
union to be organized the employees must represent an appropriate bargaining unit. The appropriate
bargaining unit must have a mutuality of interest among the workers. This interest is determined by
job duties, job similarity, skill levels, work site proximity and no management employees.
Once these criteria are met an election occurs to determine if employees want to unionize. The
National Labor Relations Board oversees the election to make sure that a true secret vote is secured. If
a majority of employees, which is one vote over 50%, agree to join the union then the NLRB certifies
the union as the bargaining representative.
Management s Responsibilities
Members of management of a company whose employees are attempting to organize cannot, by law,
join a union. Once preliminary organizing begins and during the election campaign, employers have
certain rights and responsibilities, as mandated by the NLRB. The employer may lawfully limit
campaign activities that occur on company property, if it has a legitimate reason to do so. Employers
may also limit places where solicitation may occur, limit time during which solicitation may take
place, and limit access to the workplace by any outsider. Employers may limit distribution of union

Quentin Tarantino s Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction is a cult classic. Released in 1994 by co writer and director, Quentin Tarantino, this
movie is a neo noir crime drama/dark comedy that revolves around several seemingly independent
stories that intertwine as the film progresses. The way this film came together was a bit of an
intentional accident. The two writers for the film, Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary, weren t
planning on writing this at all. Originally, they were going to do a short film then decided that wouldn

Avary had his script but it was too short to make into a standalone feature length film. Avary s script
became what Pulp Fiction viewers recognize as The Gold Watch sequence. All other sequences in the
movie were written into the script by both Tarantino and Avary.
Once the script was written, Tarantino and Avary sought out funding. Columbia TriStar found the
script to be too demented and therefore rejected it. Miramax however, was immensely intrigued with it
and Pulp Fiction became Miramax s first fully funded film.
Now that the script had funding and was given the okay, parts had to be cast. Casting for Pulp Fiction
was a bit hectic; Tarantino had written certain parts for particular actors and while some signed on,
others fell through. John Travolta s character Vincent Vega was initially supposed to be called Vic
Vega and played by Michael Madsen. Madsen played Vic Vega in Tarantino s earlier movie Reservoir
Dogs and was on Tarantino s mind as he wrote. When Madsen passed up the role, Daniel Day Lewis
was brought into discussion. Ultimately however, it went to Travolta. The Jules Winnfield character
was specifically written for Samuel L. Jackson. His underwhelming audition however, had the part

Artificial Intelligence Or Ai Is A Science Of Machines
Artificial intelligence or AI is a science of machines. Machines are set up to perform functions that
would require brain power and decision making. These machines have been designed to solve math
problems, play games, assemble products and can be a form of communication. The basis of the story
is to understand whether robots can think or function like humans. Humans deal with things on an
everyday basis not knowing what the outcome will be. There are also information sensitive creatures
such as digital computers. A computer is given information, stores what has been received and
produces an outcome. In the end, a human is the one to program the computer to provide the
information. There has always been a comparison between human minds and computers, but this has
caused a great deal of debate. For instance a computer has to be fed information in order to produce an
outcome. The information has to be fed by a human, but the effectiveness depends on what the
programmer is trying to accomplish. The first article talks two robots names Harry and Henrietta.
Harry is a humanoid form that communicates just a human on any subject. People may believe that he
is really human. But one cannot really say whether he is human or not based on the actions that is
displayed just like a real live person. Harry does not have organs like a human or produced as a
human. Henrietta who is human has been set up with synthetic materials. Everything else about
Henrietta stays the same as if she was

Fair Value Accounting And Financial Reporting
Introduction
In today s businesses, there has been an increase in the demand for financial reporting and also, the
need to have reliable measurements of fair value and its disclosures. The need for reliable information
has caused continuous change to accounting policies which has posed a challenge not only to
management of companies, but also to auditors. The frequent changes in accounting principles pose a
challenge for managers in measuring accounting estimates accurately and are an exceedingly difficult
task. Fair value accounting is a financial reporting approach in which companies are required to
measure and report on an ongoing basis certain assets and liabilities at estimates of the prices they
would receive if they were to sell the assets or would pay if they were to settle their liabilities. Under
fair value accounting, companies report losses when the fair values of their assets decrease or
liabilities increase. Those losses reduce companies reported equity and may also reduce companies
reported net income.
The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) also defines fair value as the price that would
be received to sell an asset or paid to transfer a liability in an orderly transaction between market
participants at the measurement date . According to these definitions, fair value is an unrealistic,
idealized qualitative value. The current market value is a quantitative value and it does not fully reflect
the value of assets when the markets are not

Going To Mars
Going to Mars
Would you like to go to mars hmmm? Well now you can with Mars One. The people in our group is
Kainan Yother, Trey Watts, and Kaylee Schneider. All you have to do is send in an application and
hope you get in. With Mars One they are going to send people to mars and it s a good idea because
one of these days we will run out of resources and we will be up on mars like woah we got all the
things we need up here food water and shelter. Everything down on Earth will go to you know what
and we will liv3 on mars and make a new settlement.
You might be thinking why would we go to mars when you never get to come back but let me tell you

You can communicate with people on earth but it would take a while for it to go through. The person
you send it to may not receive it that day.Either way you would get to talk to your family. That s the
good thing.Mars also has gravity and an atmosphere. You wouldn t die unless you walked out of the
atmosphere or didn t have your spacesuit on.
The last reason we should go to mars is we had eight drops on mars and so there is almost a guarantee
you make it there so it s now like you ll die. If we have had eight drops we will have no problem with
getting supplies. And we can just contact america and get supplies.
So I hope you liked our essay and so in conclusion we think you should go to Mars because it s a good
idea even though you might die it s ok because you re on mars. Also it s not like you ll be by yourself
there will be people with you. We hope you go to Mars one and send in an application because again it

Mean Girls Movie Essay
Mean Girls: The Adolescence Stage I will be covering the movie Mean Girls and some major things
that the movie has in concepts of the development that occurs in the adolescence stage such as
attachment, relational aggression, peer influence, and emotions. (Mark Waters, 2004) This movie is a
comedy full of memorable quotes, witty characters that some can relate with, and a lot of laughs but
realistic plot line, but what some people do not know is that some of the actions from the Plastics can
ruin their reputation and life choices.Mean Girls is about a girl named Cady that has been home
schooled in Africa all her life and is now attending a public school for the first time, where she runs

You ve got the pressure of being liked by many peers, and perceived popularity. If you picture an
image of the popular kids, you quickly realize that they have power but are not all liked so well by
many kids and teachers. Teens with high perceived popularity have good social and leadership skills
and are attractive and always dressed the best, but they also may be aggressive and can do a lot of
damage by bullying, and being mean to other kids. Relational aggression subtle and indirect
aggression that involves gossiping about and ignoring or excluding others. (Page457) Indirect
aggression such as gossiping about and ignoring others, even presumed friends, although boys engage
in more direct aggression than girls, girls tend to engage in more relational aggression, at least in
adolescence (Smith Rose, Schwartz Mette, 2010). In life it is easier to feel good about yourself if you
are popular than if you are a nerd . Once the cliques gain perceived popularity, they often lose
sociometric popularity, and become less well like Mayeux Sandstrom Cillessen, 2008, pg.

An Analysis of the 2003-4 Australian Budget Essay
This research essay will evaluate and judge certain parts of the 2003 2004 budget put forward by
Treasurer Peter Costello and the Howard Government on Tuesday the 13th of May. It is my opinion
that the budget has not been equitable in some areas of fund distribution. The budget will be assessed
on the three following criteria.
The First Criterion: Is the budget equitable to all the areas of our economy?
The Second Criteria: Is the budget equitable to the majority of Australian Citizens?
The Third Criteria: Does the Government Address the Problems of Medicare and Higher Education?

I am astounded that in a year such as this, with all the Government s chest beating about our brave
soldiers, they have basically forgotten our veterans again, he said.
Along with the $1.65 billion in defense, an extra $411 million has been committed to Australia s
national security. The budget also puts $3 billion to be spent over 4 years on state of the art air to air
aircraft refuellers and helicopter technology and $156 million to be spent over 4 years in increasing
our SAS task force by 30 personnel. All in all, the Australian military s ability to deploy forces to US
led coalitions and overseas terror trouble spots will be boosted by a $15 billion defense budget.
Let us compare this now with the additional funding given to the higher education department. $1.46
billion over 4 years which deregulates course numbers and HECS fees up to what could be 30%
higher. Minister for Education Brendan Nelson says We have finally set universities free by allowing
them to set there own fees.
This will be good for universities, allowing them to draw maximum economic return from there
economic strengths based on what they need to be good at and what society perceives to be
academically good. This is not good for students planning on entering university under the HECS
scheme in 2005 as the fees for popular, high band courses in prestigious universities will rise
significantly with a $2000 annual increase for course in

Hybrid Energy Systems ( Hres )
Hybrid Energy system (HRES) combines two or more renewable energy sources used together to
provide increased system efficiency as well as greater balance in energy supply. It becomes popular to
remote area for power generation due to advances in renewable energy technologies and subsequent
rise in prices of petroleum products. Hybrid energy system is an excellent solution for electrification
of remote rural areas where the grid extension is difficult and not economical. [29] Such system
incorporates a combination of one or several renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaic,
wind energy, micro hydro and may be conventional generators for backup. Hybrid energy system has
found much wider dimension than individual stand alone renewable/conventional systems for rural
remote electrification. It is a known fact that the application of hybrid energy system based rural
remote area electrification will offer a quick, economic and reliable answer to the rural household s
need for power, especially, for those of light duty appliances. However, the planning of rural remote
area electrification is not always easy and a proper mix can be arrived at only after a careful technical,
economic, and socio economic study of the region involved. In order to evaluate techno economics of
any hybrid energy system configuration, it is necessary to develop a proper model for optimization
and simulation. A range of hybrid configurations are possible, however, the choice must suit the

explains the invention of showers on wheels to help the homeless of San Francisco s streets. A former
marketing executive was saddened by the conditions that the homeless of her San Francisco streets
were living in. After becoming close with a homeless man, this woman decided that if she could
provide at least some dignity to this population then she would do just that. She realized that many of
the homeless she saw were very dirty and probably did not have access to a shower. The entire city of
San Francisco only has 16 to 20 shower stalls available for use of the homeless population which

The Innate Immune System And Pattern Recognition Receptors
The Innate Immune System and Pattern Recognition Receptors The innate immune system, which is
also known as the non specific immune system, is an important component of the immune system that
recognizes and responds to potential pathogens in a generic fashion. In contrast to the adaptive
immune system, the innate immune system does not confer long lasting/protective immunity. The
innate immune system is typically considered the first line of defense and displays the ability to
discriminate against self (host) vs. non self (non host/potential pathogens). In order to recognize non
self molecules the innate immune system utilizes a range of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) to
detect molecules associated with potential pathogens.

Hate Crimes Against African Americans
Hate crimes have affected African Americans in more ways than just violence; therefore, our
government needs to approach hate crimes differently. Aside of the fact that the United States has
elected the first African American president, hate crimes has still occurred before and during his
presidency. Of the 7,624 hate crimes committed in 2007 alone, 2,659 of those hate crimes were done
on African Americans ( Hate Crimes Against African Americans , 2012). From the history of slavery,

Stereotyping is a worldwide illness that has placed judgment on black men and women to the point
that they are limited to opportunity and advancement in the working world and the political
environment.
Although we are no longer in the 19th century, hate crimes are still much alive in the 21st century. In
late August, early September 2006, an African American student of Jena High School located in Jena,
Louisiana asked if he could sit under a tree on campus that was commonly known for only white
students to sit under (Christie, 2008). The very next day after the African American student sat under
that specific tree, three nooses were hanging from the tree. The school principal of Jena High School
found out that three white students were responsible for this incident. Even though expulsion was
recommended for the three white students, the superintendent of the school only suspended them for
three days.
Because of the ongoing racial tension, in December 2006, a fight broke from a White student taunting
some Black students supporting the incident of the nooses being hung from the tree in the school
courtyard (Christie, 2008). The White student was badly beaten and had to be hospitalized. The
African American students were later charged with attempted murder and conspiracy. The African
American students were between the ages of 15 and 17, facing up to 100 years in prison without
parole. African American residents of Jena, Louisiana stated

The Impact of New Zealand banks
New Zealand s banking system has its roots in continental Europe. The first trading bank (the union
bank of Australia) was established in 1840. After 1860, a numbers of other Australian and British
banks followed, three were British overseas banks, two were Australian and one was local. Therefore
the New Zealand banking sector has a long history of foreign ownership
The government began to ease the restrictions of financial institutions from 1975, and the deregulation
of banking was introduced in 1986, the main effect of the deregulation programme was to remove the
legislation that restricts competition within finance sector. Since 1987 there have been only two

encourage a firm to internalize operations for production to replace the need to utilize markets. The

It s better to have tried and failed than not to have tried at all Do you agree?
The saying actions speak louder than words can be applied to this scenario. Many people often dare to
dream but fear stops them from ever moving forward on their goals. The fear of failure, of not
knowing if it is possible to accomplish what may seem like the most unrealistic dream a person sets
out to achieve. One example we can learn from is one of the greatest swimmer the world has seen, Ian
Thorpe.

something and fail than it is to not even attempt it, so I m glad that I ve been prepared to put myself on

Speaking from personal experience, failure is the mother of success, and without overcoming the
challenge posed to me, I would not make it a step further. For example, ever since I stepped on the
podium in the primary school swimming nationals, I have always wanted to have the chance to do it
again in the secondary school, scoring more points for my school. This year was the last year the
school nationals where I could have a chance on stepping on the podium once again and I made use of
the opportunity I was given. I started training extremely hard, to a point where I was at the pool at 5 in
the morning and back again after school at 4 in the afternoon for strength as well as water training.
The number of times I would turn up could go up to ten times a week. This arduous task went on for
four to five months and in between, I still had to make sure that I was keeping up with school
curriculum. At the recent national schools, I competed and instead was placed 5th, missing the podium
by a whopping one second. Although I failed to reach the goal I set out to achieve, I knew that there
was nothing else I could do as
I have always wanted to represent the country in the Combined School Games and the recent National

Advantages and Disadvantages of Easily Obtainable Information The rise of technology has shaped
our generation in so many ways. As a child, I remember going to the library and checking out books
when I had a paper or project due for class. As I got older the need for finding books or publications
for research purposes decreased considerably. As I entered middle school, a class was being taught on
computer literacy, and looking back on that class I see how important it was to get started early. I can
only recall one time in the last three years where I stepped foot into a public library, and that was to
place my vote for the 2016 presidential election. The fact that I can hop on my phone, and search
anything I could possibly want to know about, and that information be displayed in a matter of
seconds is an amazing and wonderful thing. The downside to the capability of information at your
fingertips is that it causes people (including myself) to be lazy. Vocabulary and literacy levels are
lower now, because you don t have to read several books to find what you are looking for. I loved
reading for pleasure when I was younger, and still do, but that was because I was required to read
more to find answers to questions. Siri and Google have almost eliminated the need to do such
research.

Siberian Tiger Paragraph
Siberian Tiger The Siberian or Amur tiger is well known for being one of the biggest Asian cats in the
world;. Its also known for its wonderful dark, horizontal stripes on orange fur. The average tiger
weighs between 396 to 660 pounds and can reach a length up to 10 feet. Because of its size, it is
widely believed to be a powerful animal. However, these majestic animals are endangered in fact, they
are among one of the most endangered species on Earth. By the 1940s, the Siberian tiger was driven to
the brink of extinction. Only forty tigers remained in the wild at the time. Fortunately, Russia granted
the tiger full protection; which made Russia the first country in the world to do so. The population of
the Siberian tiger increased to 500 in the 1980s, however, poaching activity increased after the Soviet
Union fell. There are only as many as 540 Siberian tigers left in the wild, and although the population
is stable, they are still on the brink of extinction. At some point in time, the Siberian tiger population
stretched out across the western and Central Asia, and throughout Russia. As of now, Siberian tigers
primarily live in eastern Russia, but it s worth noting that a few Siberian tigers live in North Korea and
China. Siberian tigers are found in temperate forested areas and secluded mountain ranges. Siberian
tigers can handle extreme cold temperatures, so many tigers can be found in areas with a harsher and
colder climate. The Siberian tiger is a

It is a vector borne infection (which means it is spread directly from one host to another) transmitted specifically through the bite of an infected tick (Mayo Clinic: Lyme Disease Definition, Aug. 27, 2015). There are certain risk factors which can increase one s chance of contracting Lyme disease. For example: where a person lives can heighten one s likelihood of getting this illness. Therefore, one s best protection against infection of this bacteria relies entirely on preventative measures. First of all, avoid wooded, grassy areas, which generally have a high tick population. Furthermore, if one must venture into such an area, cover up in light colored clothing to improve one s ability to spot a tick and obstruct the tick s path to the skin. Tucking pant legs into the top of one s socks is an effective measure, as is wearing hats and gloves, and sticking to trails as much as possible. Secondly, invest in tick repellent; there are many chemical products, such as DEET, or natural protections, like vinegar mixed with essential oil and water, available. Tick proof your property by clearing away brush and tall grass. Also, be mindful that when you spend time outdoors check yourself, your children, and pets frequently for ticks. Ticks like to burrow in dark, warm areas that are difficult to spot: the underarm, groin, hair line and the back of the knee. • 16. Transformation In A Christmas Carol Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol was first published in London on the 19th of December 1843, the novella was instantly popular and still is to this day. Dickens inspiration for the short story seems to come from his childhood experiences and his sympathy for the poor. In the story a miserable old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, is shown the error of his ways and what will come of it if he doesn t make drastic changes. Various ghosts and spirits slowly transform him into a kinder more pleasant man. A Christmas Carol is a powerful novella that uses symbolism like the children Ignorance and Want, Scrooge s transformation, and Scrooges nephew Fred, to reinforce significant themes like social isolation, rebirth, and family. Dickens wanted to show the theme of rebirth through Scrooges transformation. Scrooge is changed from a humpy old man to a kinder nicer man, each stave represents a step in the transformation process. In stave one, two men come into Scrooge s shop and ask for a donation to help poor people in need, Scrooge gives them no money and asks why these people are not in prisons or Union workhouses (Dickens 7). He feels by paying his taxes he has done enough to help the poor. Scrooge goes on to say If they rather die...they had better do it and decrease the surplus population (Dickens 7). But in stave 3, Scrooge sees that Tiny Tim, a young innocent boy, will pass away in the future. Scrooge begs the second of the three spirits to spare his life, but the spirit says If ... This abrupt integration of Protestant worship illuminates the strange inability of a post English Irish culture to advance into a modern more spiritual world, mostly unrestricted by religious philosophies. Furthermore, in 1536, Henry enforced the Reformation upon Ireland, hoping to create a Protestant province loyal to the Crown. Kant creates a troubling situation on where a murderer is at the door asking whether or not the victim, he or she is looking for is hiding and whether are not one should lie or tell the truth about the victim s current hiding spot. An individual has a sense of inclination to do what is right, however Kant is acknowledging that if one does testify where the victim is then one is surely respecting the murderers intentions. Still, one cannot possibly have for seen those events. Under these circumstances, Kant insists the liar is still partially responsible for the victim s downfall. This notion that is clearly irrational demonstrates how little Kant has to argue about this topic. Even if the truth was told and the deed finished, then responsibility was shared. However, Kant does go and claims if one told the truth to the best of his knowledge, then neighbors might have come and apprehended the murder while he was searching the house for his enemy and the deed would have been prevented (8, 427). Prior to the passage of the NLRA, employers had been free to spy on, interrogate, discipline, discharge, and blacklist union members. Reversing years of federal opposition, the statute guaranteed the right of employees to organize labor unions, to engage in collective bargaining, and to take part in strikes. More commonly, the union will obtain authorization cards from 30% of the employees of a company. At this stage the union can now petition the National Labor Relations Board to have an election. For a union to be organized the employees must represent an appropriate bargaining unit. The appropriate bargaining unit must have a mutuality of interest among the workers. This interest is determined by job duties, job similarity, skill levels, work site proximity and no management employees. Once these criteria are met an election occurs to determine if employees want to unionize. The National Labor Relations Board oversees the election to make sure that a true secret vote is secured. If a majority of employees, which is one vote over 50%, agree to join the union then the NLRB certifies the union as the bargaining representative. • 23. Fair Value Accounting And Financial Reporting Introduction In today s businesses, there has been an increase in the demand for financial reporting and also, the need to have reliable measurements of fair value and its disclosures. The need for reliable information has caused continuous change to accounting policies which has posed a challenge not only to management of companies, but also to auditors. The frequent changes in accounting principles pose a challenge for managers in measuring accounting estimates accurately and are an exceedingly difficult task. Fair value accounting is a financial reporting approach in which companies are required to measure and report on an ongoing basis certain assets and liabilities at estimates of the prices they would receive if they were to sell the assets or would pay if they were to settle their liabilities. Under fair value accounting, companies report losses when the fair values of their assets decrease or liabilities increase. Those losses reduce companies reported equity and may also reduce companies reported net income. The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) also defines fair value as the price that would be received to sell an asset or paid to transfer a liability in an orderly transaction between market participants at the measurement date . According to these definitions, fair value is an unrealistic, idealized qualitative value.
