Turtle Twins Research Paper
The Turtle Twins In a land far, far away, there were two turtles who were born. They were conjoined
twins and shared the same body. The more dominant of the two, the one with the red spots arranged in
a way that looked like Jensen Ackles face, is named Toby. The other, who is quite frail, has a dash of
yellow on her nose is called Tabitha. They are both turtles of the Landslide Turtle Colony and were
born on July 8th in 2015. Although, they were not believed to live long because Tabitha was not
receiving as much food and nutrients as Toby, which has caused her to become weaker than she
already is. Angelica, their veterinarian, had searched for 3 days nonstop trying to find a way in which
to make these two turtles live as long as possible.

Military Industrial Complex in Vietnam
On 26 July 1950, President Harry Truman approved a multi million dollar military assistance package
designed to help the French defeat a strong communist movement in French Indochina. The package
included $15 million worth of military equipment and a small number of American military advisors
assigned to supervise the flow of tanks, plans, artillery, and other equipment.1 By 1954, the United
States government had provided 80% of the war supplies used by the French in Indochina which
equated to about $3 billion.2 This marked the beginning of the United States involvement in Southeast
Asia and the expansion of the military industrial complex in America. This paper will explore the role
the American military industrial complex played as part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But much of this fear was driven by American newspapers. In 1951, Charles E. Wilson praised the
American Newspaper Publishers Association for basically convincing the free world that they were in
constant danger. Wilson also told the group that because of this perceived danger, Congress was now
able to budget vast sums of money to avert it.10 At the advent of the 1960s, Eisenhower s definition of
the military industrial complex had fundamentally been altered by President John F. Kennedy.
Kennedy, along with Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, consolidated the military industry
process and set up controls similar to that of a major corporation.11 As Commander in Chief, Kennedy
resisted pressure from senior military advisors to send additional troops into Vietnam. Kennedy s
desire was to have all troops out of Southeast Asia by 1965.12 These beliefs were reinforced by the
failures of the Bay of Pigs operation in 1961 and the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Kennedy had no
desire to escalate the Cold War which was contrary to what the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Central
Intelligence Agency wanted. By refusing to go to war, Kennedy was also reducing the possibility of
greater profits for many defense contractors. Despite the Warren Commission s conclusion that Lee
Harvey Oswald acted alone in assassinating Kennedy, the speculation that the CIA or members of the
military industrial complex were somehow

Equality In Health And Social Care
What is Equality? According to The Equal Rights Trust (2008) it is ...the right of all human beings to
be equal in dignity, be treated with respect and consideration and to participate on an equal basis with
others in any area of economic, social, political, cultural or civil life. (p.1). The major principle of
equality as mentioned by The Equal Rights Trust (2008) is accommodation Accommodation means
the necessary and appropriate modifications and adjustments, including anticipatory measures, to
facilitate the ability of every individual to participate in any area of economic, social, political,
cultural or civil life on an equal basis with others. (p. 7). It follows that equality is based on the
principle of accommodation that tries to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major difference according to Jones (2009) is that Whereas equity is about fairness and focuses on
processes, equality compares the distribution of some goods or outcomes between different
individuals or groups. (p. 9). To clarify it, Jones (2009) mentioned that ...equity focuses on what
constitutes a just distribution, which treats people equally, whereas equality is about what the final
actual distribution is, requiring that people receive equal amounts. (p. 9). Equity s main goal is not to
make everyone in society equal, but rather to provide fair opportunities to become equal while
equality s main goal is to leave everyone as equal as possible in the end result. Furthermore, equity
advocates for people to not be responsible for the consequences that they have no control over and
promotes fair competition. On the other hand, equality strives to make everyone equal in society and
promotes equal share of resources for people to have equal outcomes. To sum it up, equality drives on
the notion that everyone shall have the same, while equity is about everyone having fair opportunities
to achieve the same

A Long Day s Journey Into Night The Mother
Families are expected to support each other through the worst of times. But in A Long Day s Journey
into Night the mother, Mary, struggles with an addiction to morphine and the only empathy she
receives is from her youngest son, Edmund. Edmund is ill with Tuberculosis and he understands his
mother more than his brother, Jamie, and father, James. Mary s older son, Jamie, and her husband did
want her to conquer her addiction but they act as if she should be able to beat her addiction within
minutes. Edmund on the other hand tries to show her compassion and let her take her time. Jamie and
James are always watching Mary and Edmund to make sure Mary doesn t fall back into her morphine
addiction and that Edmund doesn t cause himself to become sicker by drinking alcohol. The constant
feeling of being observed causes both Mary and Edmund to find their own home in the fog. The fog
was a shield to them that made them feel safer and more relaxed. There is something about their
illnesses that allows Edmund to feel a sense of affinity for his mother. The compassion Edmund shows
Mary is unique because he can relate to everything that she is going through and the leniency
encourages Mary to overcome her addiction. Robert the author of the article The Eugene O Neill
Newsletter says Edmund has a, romantic vison of his mother... (n.p.). This vision is contrasting to his
brother s and father s view of Mary. Edmund s vision allows him to be aware of what his mother is

Vatican Weapons
The population of Vatican City, also known as the Holy See has approximately 840 inhabitants, most
of which are priests. Since we are the smallest country in the world and are led by the pope, we have
no history of trading smuggled or illegal arms. We strongly believe that the aftermath of all the world
s disagreements is the trading of illicit weaponry and the uncontrolled use of guns. In Vatican having
the right to a private gun is not allowed by the law. We support the Wassenaar Arrangement, whose
goal is to avoid nuclear bombs, hand/ machine guns, etc. going into the hands of terrorists, even if we
are not one of the participating countries. Albeit the Holy See is not a member of the United Nations,
since we still have not applied for membership, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Naive citizens are enduring the pain from incendiary weapons, which has led to a lifetime of either
physical or mental problem. Vatican City advocated that the Protocol III of the Convention on
Conventional Weapons needs to be reinforced to executing the use of these weapons. Amid the 71st
Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Archbishop Bernardito Auza, Permanent Observer
of the Holy See addressed that The Holy See recommends therefore that discussions on weapons of
mass destruction go beyond the traditional categories of nuclear, chemical, biological, and radiological
weapons to include devastatingly powerful conventional weapons used to perpetrate war crimes and
crimes against humanity. Vatican City would welcome help from the countries who strongly believe in
the necessity to put an end to the illicit arms trade. To achieve this certain goal, we need to strengthen
our laws and treaties that relate to this topic. In conjunction with that, the U.N. Charter should protect
civilians from the violence and cruelty of

Ethics in Academics
Ethics In An Academic Environment
Attending The University of Phoenix, we are required in Gen 300 to write a research paper on Ethics
In An Academic Environment. In this research paper, you will be able to understand the ethics and
environment and how they both are in our everyday surroundings. We will also explain how Ethics in
an Environment affects everyone on a day to day basis whether good or bad. Ethics in an Academic
Environment plays a very important part of our lives. Ethics is the discipline dealing with what is
good and bad, and with moral duty and obligation. Environment is the circumstances, objects, or
conditions by which one is surrounded. (Dictionary, ). Dealing with morals can be reflected if you are

One aspect of Ethics in Academics is academic dishonesty, or cheating. Studies have shown that
students are more accepting of cheating. Most feel the pressure to succeed, so they will do things that
they know should not be done. Socrates believed that this form of ethics, knowing what we ought to
do, can be taught. ( Carroll, A.) Today s society is teaching children that the need to get ahead is
greater than character development. Others feel cheating is a mind set and that mind set makes a
difference between being taught and actually learning.
With the aid of modern technology, cheating is easier to get away with. (Eberhardt, 1) Camera cell
phones, laptops, and Ipods are some of the tools enabling students to cheat and even plagiarize. The
rational incentives to cheat have grown dramatically. Glater. J.) Whatever the reason, academic
dishonesty is receiving more and more attention especially on the college level. This puts teachers in a
dilemma to thwart attempts by banning cell phones, disabling the internet in classrooms, or even
developing ways to check for plagiarism. Until we come up with a no tolerance attitude about
cheating, students will continue to use it as a way to get ahead.
Team communication means being a good learner and listener. Teams need to be ready to setup and
start learning how to provide feedback to their team members. Communication

The Internet Its Effects and Its Future
Internet, its effects in our lives and the future of the Internet: The Internet is, quite literally, a network
of networks. It is comprised of ten thousands of interconnected networks spanning the globe. The
computers that form the Internet range from huge mainframes in research establishments to modest
PCs in people¥Šs homes and offices. Despite the recent hype, the Internet is not a new phenomenon. Its
roots lie in a collection of computers that were linked together in the 1970s to form the US
Department of Defense¥Šs communications systems. Fearing the consequences of nuclear attack, there
was no central computer holding vast amounts of data, rather the information was dispersed across
thousands of machines. A set of rules, of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People of like minds and interests can share information with one another through electronic mail and
chat rooms. E mail is enabling radically new forms of worldwide human collaboration. Approximately
225 millions of people can send and receive it and they all represent a network of potentially
cooperating individuals dwarfing anything that even the mightiest corporation or government can
muster. Mailing list discussion groups and online conferencing allow us to gather together to work on
a multitude of projects that are interesting or helpful to us. Chat rooms and mailing lists can connect
groups of users to discuss a topic and share ideas. Materials from users can be added to a Web site to
share with others and can be updated quickly and easily anytime. However, the most exciting part of
the Internet is its multimedia and hypertext capabilities. The Web provides information in many
different formats. Of course, text is still a popular way to transmit information, but the Web also
presents information in sound bites, such as music, voice, or special effects. Graphics may be still
photographs, drawings, cartoons, diagrams, tables, or other artwork, but they also may be moving,
such as animation video. Hypertext links allows users to move from one piece of information to
another. A link might be an underlined word or phrase, an icon or a symbol, or a picture, for example.

Pharmacy Improvement Services at Cvs
The Service Process at (CVS) The process consisted of five basic steps (refer to Figure 1), the first
being the drop off. A customer would drop off a script and write the requested pickup time on the
script itself, then put it in a box that was divided into a number of slots. These slots were assigned to a
specific time period and the tech would put the script into the slot corresponding to the hour before the
desired pickup time. The busiest times at the drop off were before work, lunchtime, and after work.
Regardless of when they dropped them off, more customers wanted to pick up their filled
prescriptions after work than at any other time. The next step would be the data entry. Each hour, a
tech would take the hour s scripts from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problems with the fulfilment process and recommended changes An Overview The overall
problems faced during the entire pharmacy fulfilment process were that pickup window technicians
dealt with customers who did not get what they were expecting. Based on their analyses and
observations, the PSI team estimated that 16% of customers fell into this category. It was also even
more disturbing that 27% of scripts encountered a substantial problem at some point in the fulfilment
process. It should also be noted that even though CVS grew at market rates, it was only because
customers believed that no one provided great services and they thought it was difficult to switch from
one pharmacy to another. Despite this, at the start of 200, approximately 7.2 million regular pharmacy
customers left CVS during the year, causing CVS to lose an estimated 55 million annual prescriptions
that would have contributed $2.5 billion to revenue. It can therefore be seen retaining customers
should be the main agenda for CVS. This can be done through improvement in CVS s services and
operations. In order to achieve this outcome our group feels that an upgraded computerized service
system, complete with a more comprehensive database would provide the strong foundations for a
smooth business operation. The system should be able to monitor and record logistics, inventory
movements, insurance checks, customer profiles etc. Secondly, training should also

Essay On Russia s Sacrifices During World War II
Sacrifices Dr. Martin Johnson once said, The war affected every aspect of daily life, and meant that
everyone endured hardships and sacrifice (Dr. Martin Johnson 1). Everyone, everywhere has at least
lost a person of whom they loved so dearly to a war they believe should not be taken part of.
Sacrifices are made from the people who are willing to fight to protect of what s important in life.
Many others may lose their minds because their son, father husband, wife, etc, fought for us but never
came back. Many would eve give up their lives just because their loved ones are gone. However, their
sacrifices made a big impact into the war of W.W.2. During World War II, Russia had also made
sacrifices for the benefits of the cause ( Russia s Sacrifices during World War II 8). They had lost

Healthcare Regulation Of The Pharmaceutical Industry
Healthcare Regulation The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most heavily regulated of all
industries and Pfizer is a global US based pharmaceutical company and in the pharmaceutical industry

for human consumption through animal and human testing and prove it is effective for the illness and
its intentions to alleviate. The scientific community established a four phase method to establish
effectiveness. First phase is animal and toxicity studies, second phase is the investigational new drug
application filed to test small numbers of human and allow transportation of unapproved drugs.

Exploring The Binding Coordination And Uptake Path Of...
Exploring the binding coordination and uptake path of molybdate and tungstate
Molybdenum and tungsten have similar ionic radii and chemical properties. Tungsten is the heaviest
atom and the only third row transition element that exhibits biological activity in enzymes.
Molybdenum is the only second row transition metal that exhibits biological activity when it is present
in a cofactor of a metalloenzyme. The natural source of molybdenum is molybdate, molybdate has 4
oxygens bound to the molybdenum in a tetrahedral coordination and is transported into the cell by
ModA, where it is incorporated into the molybdoenzymes, or in various different cofactor. Tungsten is
also taken up by cells in a similar manner as molybdenum but is bound by a different protein WtpA.
Tungsten occurs naturally as tungstate, just like molybdate it has 4 oxygens bound a tetrahedral.
Humans need molybdenum for molybdoenzymes which are essential for our growth, in thermophiles
the molybdenum is usually substituted for tungsten. (Mukund Adams, 1991) Not all life form use
molybdenum and not all use tungsten, but all use either molybdenum or tungsten, to current date there
has not been a cell found that doesn t use one or the other. The molybdoenzymes carry out a variety of
different reactions in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. One of the most well known one being
nitrogenase as well as nitrate reductase. These work together to play a major role in our ecosystem.

Aquapentaamminecobalt Synthesis Lab Report
Introduction: The compound aquapentaamminecobalt(III) Nitrate, [Co(NH3)5OH2] NO3, is a metal
complex bonded to the molecule nitrate to attain a neutral charge. The synthesis of this molecule is a
more complex one, requiring the recrystallization of an intermediate species. When the complex has
been formed and isolated via filtration, the complex can be reacted with various aqueous solutions,
one being dimethyl sulfoxide, C2H6OS. When reacted these reagents form the compound
Co(NH3)5(OS(CH3)2)3+, H2O, and NO3 , though not inn this ratio. Specifically the
aquapentaamminecobalt(III) molecule can be used to study the sixth coordination site on the molecule
where the later is bound. Because of the weaker bond between the cobalt ion and the water ... Show

From this point in the lab, we could make no real predictions about the composition of the products or
the mechanisms of the reactions. This is also most likely the reason for such a low yield and strange
coloration. Other sources of error include poor transfer of the crude product from filter paper to flask
for recrystallization, as some of the product was lost in the transfer, lessening the yield. Also, when the
0.75 mL of the 16 M nitric acid was added, the pH, instead of becoming neutral, resulted in a pH of 1,
in effect burning the product. This may also be a reason for the color of the final product. In
conclusion, this lab was a failure. Not only was the yield very small upon inspection, but the product s
composition was unknown due to the unknown solution. Given the nature of the lab, little yield was
expected and observed, making the lab itself very particular in nature. Add to this the addition of the
unknown solution and any produce was astounding. Not only unfortunate, the unknown solution was
very dangerous. If it had been some solution that reacted violently with the reagents, there could have
been unforeseen damage done to the lab and the individuals

Value of Philosophy Essay
Philosophy is the study of examining and thinking about questionable ethical problems and/or
generally accepted certainties. Philosophy aims at knowledge that combines a variety of academic
fields as well as convictions, prejudices and beliefs.
What is Russell s essay about? Present Russell s position in your own words.
Bertrand Russell s essay addresses many issues concerning philosophy. In the writing, he states
philosophy s nature, value, and criticisms. The essay explains these aspects of the study of philosophy
in relatively different ways. The main idea for establishing value in his essay is by explaining how it is
best obtained, and its effect on other people. The essay continues with his criticisms of those who

It states that even though philosophy doesn t give us a certainty of true answers, it suggests many
possibilities which enlarge our thoughts and free them from tyranny of custom. He also supports the
idea that philosophy is beneficial because it enriches intellectual imagination . The essay brings up the
points of the practical man, and why they are at a loss of intellectual imagination because they don t
explore the unknown by viewing life as simple. As evidence, he uses an example of mass disease and
poverty of a society. The theory is that in those conditions, there would still be much to be improved
to produce a valuable society. Even if the society has the proper food supplies, they need the goods of
the mind (knowledge) to build a well governed society. He believes practical men undermine that
aspect, thereby explaining their lack of intellectual imagination. The next argument is that philosophy
saves us from convictions, prejudices, and cultural beliefs. The affect that that has on a person is to
open up a fresh prospective with very little bias. He believed for this to be beneficial to people
socially, by developing empathy which helps you understand others points of view. That theory goes
hand in hand and gives a fine segway to his fourth and final argument of the freedom and equity
learned from philosophical contemplation reflecting in your personality (action and emotion). The

communism was like a disease that needed to be contained. The communist parties wanted to spread
communism to many other countries. The Us didn t want communism to spread, so they came up with

Luckily there was a way to cut mortality rate, and that was done by MASH. According to CNN, the
US deaths totalled to 36,574 soldiers, and 103,284 injuries. South Korea ended up with 217,000

way more in total than the US did. Veterans can home with many injuries. Those injuries included
frostbite, trench foot, and many types of sicknesses. The VA states that the injuries could become
worse if they weren t treated, they could result in skin cancer, arthritis, and amputations. Luckily, there

Essay about Brent Staples A Brothers Murder
Brent Staples A Brother s Murder
A belief I feel very strongly about proposes that all problems faced by our society have solutions. If
this belief is true, why do problems still face us today? The answer could be a result of either laziness
by the people in our society in finding these solutions or just the fact that there are too many problems
to solve. Maybe this belief I have is too far out of reach to be true.
On the other hand, Brent Staples, a well respected writer, seems to share this idea with me. In his
works, he displays a great deal of motivation to solve particular problems faced by society. In quot;A
Brother s Murder, quot; he uses a personal account of murder within the streets caused by ... Show

In most other parts of the country, you can have an argument with one of your best friends and not get
killed over it. Blake was shot six time s by a good friend over an argument about a former girlfriend.
Brent Staples grew up in the same type of atmosphere as his little brother Blake. As Staples explains
in paragraph four of quot;A Brother s Murder, quot; he chose a different lifestyle. He disagreed with
the childish attitude of the death ridden people on his street. He chose a path of going to college and
leading a successful career. He was lucky enough and smart enough to leave those streets.
quot;Upwardly mobile quot; was how Brent put it. In Blake s lifestyle moving up means killing more
people to gain social standing within his gang.
Brent took a trip to his brother s home to intervene with his situation.
What he saw was someone taken over by life on the streets. He was obsessed by this lifestyle of
teetering between life and death, because that was all for which he had to live. This was clear on the
surface, but his own brother could look deeper. He could see his true human character. Brent saw his
brother as a human being who he cared deeply for and wanted to help. However, when our society
looks at these people killing each other, they see young kids with no hope and no feelings. I believe
this inability to give people a chance is what

The Role Of Media Images Influence Children s Self Image
My research assignment will be on sexulization of children. I will explore the issue of the increasingly
early onset of sexualized bodies and the social expectations that go along with it. Most of my paper
will be about girls, but boys will also be discussed. I will discuss and explore how media comes into
effect and examine how media images influence children s self image. My title will likely be: Ticking
Time Bomb: The Early Onset of Sexualized Bodies. In our society we are conditioning children to be
obsessed with their appearance. We teach girls that their beauty is the most important factor of them.
How media, advertising, film, pop music, magazines does are all included under this topic, relate to
issues of overly sexual people?

In Bartlett, Myke. Sex Sells: Child Sexulization and the Media , one of my sources, makes references
a portrait of a thirteen year old girl painted nude. Does this fall under a sexulizased, pornographic
image or is it simply art? How and where do we draw the boundaries? This broad definition leads to
much controversy over whether something is truly hyper sexulization or not. Because of this many
scholars have tackled this phenomenon already. It is a commonly talked about topic, yet no solution is
in sight.
Children are facing these issues on a day to day biases. Girls go to the mall and pick out clothing with
the words flirt , juicy , even gangbanger or open magazines to read about how to get a boyfriend in 4
easy steps. Adults may see this and understand the harm but children, or even teenagers may not fully
understand. We see the playboy logo, they may see a cute bunny. How do we balance their innocence
with our sexual knowledge? Is it fair to them for us to shatter their innocence? With our rapidly
accelerating technology will the youth reach new media before their parents can explain it to them?
Pornography and adult media content also affect children and how we, as a society view people. In
The Sexualization of Childhood a book by Sharna Olfman, a teacher states that boys usually start
learning about sex from the internet starting from the 5th or 6th grade. How does this influence how
they see woman? If all the sex they watch

The First Letter of Apostle Paul’s to the Corinthians Essay
The first letter of Apostle Paul s to the Corinthians that we have access to is normally known as the
book of love, or the book that gets read at weddings (Powell, 273). But when you get down to the nitty
gritty of this epistle to the Corinthians, Paul is addressing many problems that congregation had and
that churches today face.
Before we get into the actual letter and the occasion and purpose of this letter, I want to review a little
of what we know of Corinth and its culture and history. Corinth was the capital of Achaia (Powell,
275) and it has been estimated that in Paul s day the population of Corinth was about 250,000 free
persons, plus as many as 400,000 slaves (Barker, 1732). There are four things I want to touch on about

The temple dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love, whose worshipers practiced what is known as
religious prostitution, is one of the more infamously known. About a quarter of a mile north of the
theater stood the temple of Asclepius, the god of healing and, in the sixth century BCE, the temple of
Apollo stood in the center of the city. In addition to all of these Grecian temples, the Jews had
established a synagogue; the inscribed lintel of it has been found and is in the museum at old Corinth
today (Barker, 1732). Its immorality: Corinth, like any large commercial city, was a center for much
immorality. The worship of Aphrodite fostered prostitution in the name of religion. At one time there
were 1,000 sacred prostitutes serving her temple (Barker, 1732). So widely did the immorality of
Corinth become known that the Romans would use the expression to act like a Corinthian referring to
engaging in sexual promiscuity (Powell, 278).
With all this in mind, no wonder Paul s first recorded letter to the Corinthians dealt with numerous
problems.
The Intended Audience: In the salutation of 1 Corinthians (1:2), Paul addresses the letter to the church
of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those
everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ their Lord and ours . The converts at

Ethnographic Reflection
Raybeck describes several adventures and misadventures involving field research in his account of the
year and a half he spent in Kelantan. He also discusses the understanding, humility and scars that these
experiences may leave behind. Raybeck provides in depth descriptions of Kelantanese society and
culture. He addresses topics such as political structures, the status of women, kinship, linguistics, and
economics. Additionally, he demonstrates for us how challenging yet rewarding anthropological
fieldwork can be, and we see how he builds rapport in a research setting in order to ensure that the
information he acquires is reliable.

In fact, this extra effort to blend in with and accept the Kelantanese way of life is what perhaps
prevented Raybeck s presence from having an impact on the culture he was studying.
There are many instances throughout the ethnography when the writer appears to be going through
culture shock, and the impact of the culture he is studying on him becomes evident. For instance, thed
Kelantanese disregard and even contempt of the concept of privacy is something that takes him and
his wife some getting used to. Similarly, the ethnographer is confused when their dressing in
traditional garb is interpreted as him and his wife s willingness to convert to Islam. There are other
times through his stay when he is expected to take a stand on political and ethical matters, and he finds
himself struggling to maintain neutrality yet not earn the contempt of the villagers.
Raybeck encountered numerous ethical issues, including but not limited to prostitution, murder, and
smuggling. As before, the writer tried his very best to adopt a neutral stand, and participate only
minimally and if asked to by the parties involved. Raybeck quickly learns that one s actions in such
matters are what are used to gage one s loyalty to a specific group or individual within the community.
Aware of this impact, he tries to stay as

Charlemagne and the Saxon War
Every historian interprets the past differently and with distinctive perspectives, resulting in many sides
to one story. Often the reader must decide which perspective is more logical, likely, or coherent.
Recounting one war took a lot of time and effort because of the necessity to include all sides of the
story. Becher, Barbero, Collins and Backman have approached the life of Charlemagne with different
points of view; however, Barbero seems to have the strongest argument for the cause of the Saxon
War. The other historians were less willing to see the Saxon war as a religious war. The life of
Charlemagne was interesting to historians because it was filled with many vigorous wars that he
fought including the infamous Saxon War. From the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even with the threats of destruction, the stubbornness of the Saxons continued. When war began, the
Saxons sacrificed their prisoners of war to their gods, and the Franks killed anyone unwilling to be
baptized. Eventually, there was no place that was safe and massacres had begun that were inspired by
the Bible: Charlemagne wanted to act like a true king of Israel. The Amalekites had dared raise their
hand to betray God s people, and it was therefore right that every last one of them should be
exterminated (47). Charlemagne then imposed a law saying anyone who offended the Christian
religion and its clergy would be put to death or forced to convert. The final act of the war was the
deportation of the Saxons and granting their land to close by Slavic community.
On the other hand, the Einhard came up with a different instigation of the war. He did not relate it to
Christianity as strongly as Barbero did. His view of the cause of the war was because the peace
between the people was not sustaining. This eventually led to the Franks refusing to make any
comebacks, but instead going to war with the Saxons. This war was thought to be a thirty three year
war with the advantage for the Franks. However, Einhard does state that the war was based on a
religious disagreement, but only slightly. The Saxons were conquered many times over the years

Essay On Monetaristist Theory Of Inflation
Differences of the Monetarist and Classical explanation of Inflation
Overview
Monetarist view relates to the work of Milton Friedman. The monetarist theory of inflation asserts that
the general price level would rise only due an increase in money supply, but will not be proportionate.
According to monetarists, money supply is the dominant but not exclusive determinant of both prices
and the output level in the short run, but in the long run money supply only determines the level of
prices. The output level in the long run is not determined by money supply. Monetarists emphasize so
much on the role of money and therefore hold that money supply is very crucial tool of monetary
policies in stabilization of the economy as compared to fiscal policies. Milton Friedman stated as
follows inflation is always and everywhere monetary phenomenon that will arise when money supply
rises at a faster rate than the growth of national output.
This phenomenon is explained in the simple quantity theory of money as follows
MV=PT
In this equation M, V, P and T are Money supply, velocity of circulation, Price Level and transactions
respectively.
Therefore our equation becomes MV=PY where Y Is the National Income.

Thomas Aquinas Proof Of God
We began the discussion by going through all of the question that our classmates had posed the night
before. We began with whether Aquinas presents evidence to provide Gods existence to a nonbeliever
or if he expected his audience to already have faith in God. We came to the conclusion he expected his
audience to have faith in God because all of his five proofs of God take it for granted and depend on
the fact that you must believe in the God s existence. We then moved onto whether Aquinas intended
this for people who already believed in Christianity or for people who were considering Christianity.
We came to the conclusion that Aquinas was trying to use a logical presentation of proofs of God,
which was meant to reaffirm Christian s beliefs

Essay on Satan in John Milton s Paradise Lost
Who is Satan?
Satan s definitions include the advocate of God, a personification of evil, the fallen angel, a spirit
created by God, and also the accuser. People see Satan differently, some know of his existence, others
think of him as just a myth, and there are those that just ignore him. John Milton s Paradise Lost tells
of Satan s banishment from Heaven and his gain of earth. He and his brigade have plotted war against
God and are now doomed to billow in the fiery pits of hell. Satan is a complex character with many
different qualities. God is a character who we, as Christians, know about but do not completely

God throws Satan and his followers into hell for their defiance. Satan shows rebellion towards God,
this is the first rebellion there ever was. According to Webster s dictionary rebellion is organized
opposition to authority, a conflict in which one faction tries to take control from another. I think
rebellion also includes disobedience. John Carrey says that in the epic Satan concedes his own
criminality, and his own responsibility for his fall. He facilitates between remorse and defiance. He
confesses that his rebellion was completely unjustifiable, that he had the same freewill and power to
stand as all God s creatures, and that he therefore has nothing to accuse but heavens free love dealt
equally to all (134). Basically Satan did this to himself. We do not really understand why Satan defied
God and we probably would not understand.
Satan goes from the most beautiful to the ugliest because of his defiance. John Carrey speaks of
Milton s Satan saying Satan as archangel, before his fall, is never shown by Milton, but this stage of
his existence is often alluded to, as is the fact that some of his archangelic power powers remain,
though we cannot be quite sure which. Hence Satan, as a fictional character, gains a hidden dimension
and a past (133). We know Satan has a past, it is just not presented by Milton. Satan once lived in a
universe full of happiness, joy, and eternal glorification and was known in

Hearst And Yellow Journalism
Yellow Journalism The term yellow journalism was born in the 1890 and was a style of journalism
that used hyperboles and personal biases in newspapers for political purposes. According to PBS the
use of yellow journalism was credited to Joseph Pulitzer the author of The New York World, and
William Randolph Hearst the owner of The New York Journal began using Pulitzer same style. Also
PBS states the rivalry of the two newspapers relied on headlines that would catch the media s
attention, which would allow both to sell millions of newspapers. The use of yellow journalism is
found in the document that was about the Maine ship sinking. The purpose of Hearst using yellow
journalism, allowed him to make his views public and he gained political status. William Hearst put a
lot of his views in the papers his team of great journalists wrote. As stated by Jeff By. Hearst hired the

E Commerce And Its Impact On Waste Management
According to Pawar and Driva (2000), not every firm is ready to embrace e commerce as it could lead
to serious security, legal and financial problems. Back in early 2000s those hurdles of e commerce
limited the confidence of companies in terms of Internet based business integration (Prasad et al.,
2000). The research by Quayle (2002) revealed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK
would generally focus on waste management rather than adopting e commerce. Moreover, some
critics even predicted an imminent collapse of e commerce (Wallace, 2000). Surprisingly for the
oppositionists, wide use of e business initiatives has proved its impact on waste management with the
adaption of electronic data interchange, electronic catalogue ordering, e mail, mobile telephone, direct
link ups with suppliers According to the research in the lean manufacturing conducted by Toyota
Production System, companies encounter 7 types of waste in their operations: overproduction, defects,
over processing, inventory, transportation, waiting, motion (El Namrouty et al., 2013). Different
business model of ecommerce companies as opposed to brick and motors` enables reduction or
elimination of some of those types of waste (reduced paper transactions, shorter order cycle time and
the subsequent inventory reduction). The changes result in speedy transmission of information,
enhanced supplier/buyer partnership through web communication networks (Gulledge et al., 1998)

Mr. Fox Begins Essay
In life, we are susceptible to danger just about everywhere we go. Most people avoid danger at all
costs, however there are certain dare devils who will face danger head on. Have you ever wondered if
some people willingly put themselves in dangerous situations just to explore their curiosity? If you
had to take a guess, would you guess that men or women are more likely to willingly enter dangerous
situations? People will face danger for many different reasons, some because they are not at all aware
of the potential danger, and others do because their temptation is too strong. In an initial reading,
Oyeyemi s tale What Happens Next in her novel Mr. Fox begins by telling the story of Mary Foxe s

Was St. John Fox intent on speaking specifically to Mary Foxe on the plane ride? Or did Mary Foxe
just happen to be in the right place and at the right time? The way he enters the scene in the novel is
particularly strange and seems to alarm Mary Foxe. She describes his appearance like this It seemed as
he had addressed the words to me, so I opened my eyes. He was sitting to my right, his whole body
turned toward me, his chin on his fist as he studied me. I hadn t heard or felt him draw near (Oyeyemi
149). The way St. John Fox snuck up on Mary Foxe so quietly appeared to startle her, even though his
intentions only appear to be to engage in casual conversation by mentioning Only two hours until
landing (Oyeyemi 149). Was this conversation accidental or planned? His seemingly unimportant
comment wasn t what appeared to bother Mary Foxe. While describing his looks from her initial
glance up at him, she said He was good looking. Enough to make me feel uncomfortable. Tall and
dark, etc. (Oyeyemi 149). Mary Foxe specifically stated that St. John Fox made her feel
uncomfortable solely based off of his looks, proving the earlier alternate interpretation of the chapter
to be correct that she did at one point see potential danger in St. John Fox. However, there is no strong
evidence to support that she was extremely bothered by slyness. Another piece of evidence that
supports the claim that St. John Fox had specific intentions of connecting with Mary Foxe

I continued my study in pursuit of the doctoral degree in Biblical Studies by reading the text,
Encountering the Old Testament. Little did I know when I began reading this text that it would so
completely satisfy two of my greatest pleasures; studying the Word of God and studying people s
history.
I am an ardent historian. Knowing and understanding the history of peoples and nations is more than

Scribes who copied the biblical text believed they were copying the very words of God. One group of
scribes committed to preserving God s word was the Masoretes. They did three things to preserve the
text they received: (1) they developed a system for writing vowels; (2) they developed a system of
accents for the Hebrew text; and (3) they developed a system of detailed notes from the text.
The majority of the text was written in Hebrew, the remainder in Aramaic. The most important
Hebrew copies of the Old Testament are the Masoretic text (the most reliable), the Samaritan
Pentateuch and the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Samaritan Pentateuch contains only Genesis through
Deuteronomy and originated with the Samaritans. The Dead Sea Scrolls contains part of every Old
Testament book except Ester. The Old Testament was also translated into other languages. The
Septuagint, a translation in Greek, has been helpful in resolving some portions of the Pentateuch and
the Targums helps us understand early Jewish interpretations.
How Do We Interpret the Bible?
Use the Grammatical Historical Method
Following the rules of hermeneutics helps us interpret the Bible. The grammatical historical method
seeks to determine what the text says grammatically and what it means historically. In order to arrive
at this understanding we must first consider the context in which the text was written.
Understand the Context There are three kinds of context: immediate, remote and

Gun Fire Research Paper
The development of weapons is a never ending race driven by fear of another country out gunning you
in a war. It is what countries spend a large portion of their budgets on sometimes upwards of 500
billion dollars. Before supersonic jets or nuclear bombs the advancements in guns and firearms were
revered as breakthroughs that would slaughter hundreds. A big leap in western gun technology came
during the American Civil War as each side struggled to get the upper hand in the war. Born through
this fire of combat came the rifle musket and the minié bullet. What made the weapon so effective was
its ability to fire at a decent distance and actually stand a chance at hitting its target.

Rimfire bullets are crushed from the side where a chemical called primer lines the edges. This
chemical ignites the gunpowder inside the casing and fires the bullet. The problem with this method is
that the casing has to be skinny enough to be crushed but still funnel all the energy of the gunpowder
into the bullet without breaking. The centerfire was meant to fix that while it was louder you could
have a much more powerful round but having a small circle of primer stick out the back of the casing.
The firing pin would hit just the primer igniting the gunpowder without crushing the casing. This
meant you could have a thicker casing to fire a larger bullet.
Along with centerfire bullets and guns came another advancement that we still use to this day in
almost every common military rifle. The vertical fed magazine at first they were integrated into the
gun itself. Meaning you loaded the bullets from the top of the gun into the magazine that was attached.
This was very common during WWI and was even seen into WWII. The advantage of these vertically
fed magazines was at first not recognized. The tube magazine was still the most prevalent for quite a
while even after the invention of vertical

The Greenhouse Effect, A Torrent of Information, and the Politics of Mass Uncertainty
Introduction: Global warming, the ozone layer, and deforestation are becoming increasingly discussed
topics both in the international community and society. Former Vice President Albert Gore stated in
his 1992 book Earth in the Balance, The process of filling the atmosphere with CO2 and other
pollutants...is a willful expansion of our dysfunctional civilization into vulnerable parts of the world
(Wittwer 21). With statements like this, one might wonder what stops the human race from ending this
kind of behavior. Scientists and politicians are paralyzed when addressing the issue of global warming
largely from uncertainty of cause/effect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These gases trap heat by reflecting heat back to the surface the heat the Earth s surface has already
reflected back in the direction of space after being heated by the sun (World Book 232 233). In the
report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change , the observed global warming was likely
due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations. Chemistry and Industry magazine citing the
preliminary report stated, atmospheric carbon dioxide has increased 31% since 1750, and atmospheric
methane by 151% ( IPCC Says Global...Own Fault 66). From agreement to confusion:
Scientists do not argue that increases in greenhouse gas concentration have some relationship to
higher average temperatures. The consequences of further global warming are hotly contested still and
stir widespread debate and disagreement. In fact, arguments over the existence of a natural cycle of
climate change and climate change induced by human activity are considerably prevalent. Arguments
for both beneficial and detrimental consequences of further global warming are wide ranging. Because
the plethora of arguments contributes heavily to the paralyzation of the international community it is
prudent to survey some of the arguments. In June 1999, Friederike Wagner of Utrecht University and a
team from Utrecht, Amsterdam and Gainesville, Florida reported in Science that levels of carbon
dioxide in the air increased

Salem Witch Trial vs Mccarthyism
A review of A Fever in Salem: A New Interpretation of the New England Witch Trials, by Laurie Winn
Carlson, Ivan R. Dee, Chicago, 2000; 224 pp. $14.95 Paperback. ISBN: 1 566633095
A FEVER IN SALEM POSITS A biological cause for the early modem witchcraft epidemic, which
resulted in the hanging of 19 people in Salem, MA, in 1692. Witchcraft persecution, Laurie Carlson
writes, arose because of the strange behavior of the supposedly bewitched accusers. She concludes
that the cause was a disease unrecognizable by the science of the time: encephalitis.
The history of the Salem witchcraft epidemic is well known. In the winter of 1692, two girls suffered
convulsions and hallucinations, alarming fast their families and subsequently the entire ... Show more

Is Carlson suggesting the epidemic actually had supernatural influences?
Carlson also takes aim at the psychological profession, as she does in an earlier footnote comparing
the late 15th century witch hunting guidebook, The Malleus Maleficarum, with the handbook of the
American Psychological Association, the DSM IV.
Readers of SKEPTIC may be especially interested in Carlson s brief mention of women taken by
planets while they slept, remarkably similar to modern descriptions of alien abductions.
As interesting as all this is, especially to skeptics in search of natural causes for apparently
supernatural events, A Fever in Salem is far from exemplary. Fundamentally, the evidence offered for
the epidemiological hypothesis is inconclusive. I do not doubt Carlson s statement that historical
epidemiology is inherently plausible, but this does not let her off the empirical hook. A Fever in Salem
s recounting of events beyond Salem is alternately superficial and contradictory, in spite of the author
s own assertion that her hypothesis fails if it cannot be applied to Europe as well. Europe suffered
under witchcraft accusations for more than a century, with approximately 100,000 casualties.
Carlson hints that the Salem symptoms could be compared to what happened in Europe or other areas
of New England, but never fully explores it. If she wants to build her case solely on Salem, discussion
of witchcraft outside of

Case Report – Individual “Estore at Shell Canada Limited”...
Executive Summary In 2002, Shell Canada launched its online store called eStore for its customers.
The objective was to keep costs low by having a self service technology so that agricultural customers
can buy their products without the need for a sales representative. The statistics from eStore showed
even though the number of customers who signed up for eStore was close to the target, number of
customers who actually used eStore remained low. The problem seemed to be mainly due to customers
having difficulty with the service. According to customer s feedbacks, many encountered various
technical problems when they tried to place orders. Others just preferred traditional methods of buying
what they needed, while the remaining group were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mediterranean Diet Requirements
More in depth, there are specific diets that people can try and see which one best works for them.
Every human body is different, some bodies require more of a certain nutrient to have a healthy brain.
A diet that everyone can try is the Mediterranean diet. There are a few studies that have shown that the
Mediterranean diet brings positive effects for the brain. This diet require for someone to consume a
large amount of virgin oil, fish, fruits, vegetables, cereals, and legumes. It might sound unreal but this
diet also requires a small drink of alcohol, red wine. Another requirement of the diet is to only eat a
small amount of red meat and dairy products. It is not guaranteed that if will bring the same amount of
benefits for everyone but one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are hundreds of diseases or mental health problems that attack silently. Many people don t find
out that they are suffering from an illness until it s almost too late. There s no question, technology is
advancing rapidly but there are still many health problems that are incurable. Learning to eat healthier
can lower the risk of suffering many of the existing diseases. Making healthier choices will not only
benefit the person physically, the change will possibly boost their spiritual or emotional life. One has
the choice to choose what is believed to be the best pathway. There are small and easy steps that can
be done to improve one s health. If one drinks alcohol than the first step to a better life is by
eliminating that drink from the daily diet. Nutrition is more important than what every person thinks.
Improper nutrition can cause not only depression but also dementia. The most common dementia is
know as alzheimer s disease. The population tends to relate Alzheimer s disease with the aging of a
person. The truth is that nutrition is the main contributor of this mental health problem not the aging of
a person. At the end, people can drastically improve their mental health, cognitive skills, and daily
behavior with just a better diet. The human brain is the center of control for the whole body. If the
brain is not cared properly than the body and mind will start to malfunction. Something to keep in
mind is that, Eating.... will impact every single one of the 75 100 trillion cells in your body (Leaf

Military Industrial Complex in Vietnam On 26 July 1950, President Harry Truman approved a multi million dollar military assistance package designed to help the French defeat a strong communist movement in French Indochina. The package included $15 million worth of military equipment and a small number of American military advisors assigned to supervise the flow of tanks, plans, artillery, and other equipment.1 By 1954, the United States government had provided 80% of the war supplies used by the French in Indochina which equated to about $3 billion.2 This marked the beginning of the United States involvement in Southeast Asia and the expansion of the military industrial complex in America. In 1951, Charles E. Wilson praised the American Newspaper Publishers Association for basically convincing the free world that they were in constant danger. Wilson also told the group that because of this perceived danger, Congress was now able to budget vast sums of money to avert it.10 At the advent of the 1960s, Eisenhower s definition of the military industrial complex had fundamentally been altered by President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy, along with Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, consolidated the military industry process and set up controls similar to that of a major corporation.11 As Commander in Chief, Kennedy resisted pressure from senior military advisors to send additional troops into Vietnam. Kennedy s desire was to have all troops out of Southeast Asia by 1965.12 These beliefs were reinforced by the failures of the Bay of Pigs operation in 1961 and the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Kennedy had no desire to escalate the Cold War which was contrary to what the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Central Intelligence Agency wanted. By refusing to go to war, Kennedy was also reducing the possibility of greater profits for many defense contractors. Despite the Warren Commission s conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in assassinating Kennedy, the speculation that the CIA or members of the military industrial complex were somehow ... Equity s main goal is not to make everyone in society equal, but rather to provide fair opportunities to become equal while equality s main goal is to leave everyone as equal as possible in the end result. Furthermore, equity advocates for people to not be responsible for the consequences that they have no control over and promotes fair competition. Socrates believed that this form of ethics, knowing what we ought to do, can be taught. ( Carroll, A.) Today s society is teaching children that the need to get ahead is greater than character development. Others feel cheating is a mind set and that mind set makes a difference between being taught and actually learning. With the aid of modern technology, cheating is easier to get away with. (Eberhardt, 1) Camera cell phones, laptops, and Ipods are some of the tools enabling students to cheat and even plagiarize. The rational incentives to cheat have grown dramatically. Glater. J.) Based on their analyses and observations, the PSI team estimated that 16% of customers fell into this category. It was also even more disturbing that 27% of scripts encountered a substantial problem at some point in the fulfilment process. It should also be noted that even though CVS grew at market rates, it was only because customers believed that no one provided great services and they thought it was difficult to switch from one pharmacy to another. Despite this, at the start of 200, approximately 7.2 million regular pharmacy customers left CVS during the year, causing CVS to lose an estimated 55 million annual prescriptions that would have contributed $2.5 billion to revenue. It can therefore be seen retaining customers should be the main agenda for CVS. This can be done through improvement in CVS s services and operations. Exploring the binding coordination and uptake path of molybdate and tungstate Molybdenum and tungsten have similar ionic radii and chemical properties. Tungsten is the heaviest atom and the only third row transition element that exhibits biological activity in enzymes. Molybdenum is the only second row transition metal that exhibits biological activity when it is present in a cofactor of a metalloenzyme. The natural source of molybdenum is molybdate, molybdate has 4 oxygens bound to the molybdenum in a tetrahedral coordination and is transported into the cell by ModA, where it is incorporated into the molybdoenzymes, or in various different cofactor. Tungsten is also taken up by cells in a similar manner as molybdenum but is bound by a different protein WtpA. Tungsten occurs naturally as tungstate, just like molybdate it has 4 oxygens bound a tetrahedral. Humans need molybdenum for molybdoenzymes which are essential for our growth, in thermophiles the molybdenum is usually substituted for tungsten. (Mukund Adams, 1991) Not all life form use molybdenum and not all use tungsten, but all use either molybdenum or tungsten, to current date there has not been a cell found that doesn t use one or the other. When the complex has been formed and isolated via filtration, the complex can be reacted with various aqueous solutions, one being dimethyl sulfoxide, C2H6OS. When reacted these reagents form the compound Co(NH3)5(OS(CH3)2)3+, H2O, and NO3 , though not inn this ratio. From this point in the lab, we could make no real predictions about the composition of the products or the mechanisms of the reactions. This is also most likely the reason for such a low yield and strange coloration. Other sources of error include poor transfer of the crude product from filter paper to flask for recrystallization, as some of the product was lost in the transfer, lessening the yield. Also, when the 0.75 mL of the 16 M nitric acid was added, the pH, instead of becoming neutral, resulted in a pH of 1, in effect burning the product. This may also be a reason for the color of the final product. In conclusion, this lab was a failure. Not only was the yield very small upon inspection, but the product s composition was unknown due to the unknown solution. Given the nature of the lab, little yield was expected and observed, making the lab itself very particular in nature. Add to this the addition of the unknown solution and any produce was astounding. It states that even though philosophy doesn t give us a certainty of true answers, it suggests many possibilities which enlarge our thoughts and free them from tyranny of custom. He also supports the idea that philosophy is beneficial because it enriches intellectual imagination . The essay brings up the points of the practical man, and why they are at a loss of intellectual imagination because they don t explore the unknown by viewing life as simple. As evidence, he uses an example of mass disease and poverty of a society. The theory is that in those conditions, there would still be much to be improved to produce a valuable society. Even if the society has the proper food supplies, they need the goods of the mind (knowledge) to build a well governed society. He believes practical men undermine that aspect, thereby explaining their lack of intellectual imagination. The next argument is that philosophy saves us from convictions, prejudices, and cultural beliefs. The affect that that has on a person is to open up a fresh prospective with very little bias. He believed for this to be beneficial to people socially, by developing empathy which helps you understand others points of view. That theory goes hand in hand and gives a fine segway to his fourth and final argument of the freedom and equity learned from philosophical contemplation reflecting in your personality (action and emotion). If this belief is true, why do problems still face us today? The answer could be a result of either laziness by the people in our society in finding these solutions or just the fact that there are too many problems to solve. Maybe this belief I have is too far out of reach to be true. On the other hand, Brent Staples, a well respected writer, seems to share this idea with me. As Staples explains in paragraph four of quot;A Brother s Murder, quot; he chose a different lifestyle. He disagreed with the childish attitude of the death ridden people on his street. He chose a path of going to college and leading a successful career. He was lucky enough and smart enough to leave those streets. quot;Upwardly mobile quot; was how Brent put it. In Blake s lifestyle moving up means killing more people to gain social standing within his gang. Brent took a trip to his brother s home to intervene with his situation. What he saw was someone taken over by life on the streets. He was obsessed by this lifestyle of teetering between life and death, because that was all for which he had to live. This was clear on the surface, but his own brother could look deeper. He could see his true human character. Brent saw his brother as a human being who he cared deeply for and wanted to help. Before we get into the actual letter and the occasion and purpose of this letter, I want to review a little of what we know of Corinth and its culture and history. Corinth was the capital of Achaia (Powell, 275) and it has been estimated that in Paul s day the population of Corinth was about 250,000 free persons, plus as many as 400,000 slaves (Barker, 1732). The temple dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love, whose worshipers practiced what is known as religious prostitution, is one of the more infamously known. About a quarter of a mile north of the theater stood the temple of Asclepius, the god of healing and, in the sixth century BCE, the temple of Apollo stood in the center of the city. In addition to all of these Grecian temples, the Jews had established a synagogue; the inscribed lintel of it has been found and is in the museum at old Corinth today (Barker, 1732). Its immorality: Corinth, like any large commercial city, was a center for much immorality. The worship of Aphrodite fostered prostitution in the name of religion. At one time there were 1,000 sacred prostitutes serving her temple (Barker, 1732). So widely did the immorality of Corinth become known that the Romans would use the expression to act like a Corinthian referring to engaging in sexual promiscuity (Powell, 278). With all this in mind, no wonder Paul s first recorded letter to the Corinthians dealt with numerous problems. The Intended Audience: In the salutation of 1 Corinthians (1:2), Paul addresses the letter to the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ their Lord and ours . The monetarist theory of inflation asserts that the general price level would rise only due an increase in money supply, but will not be proportionate. According to monetarists, money supply is the dominant but not exclusive determinant of both prices and the output level in the short run, but in the long run money supply only determines the level of prices. The output level in the long run is not determined by money supply. Monetarists emphasize so much on the role of money and therefore hold that money supply is very crucial tool of monetary policies in stabilization of the economy as compared to fiscal policies. Milton Friedman stated as follows inflation is always and everywhere monetary phenomenon that will arise when money supply rises at a faster rate than the growth of national output. John Carrey says that in the epic Satan concedes his own criminality, and his own responsibility for his fall. He facilitates between remorse and defiance. He confesses that his rebellion was completely unjustifiable, that he had the same freewill and power to stand as all God s creatures, and that he therefore has nothing to accuse but heavens free love dealt equally to all (134). E Commerce And Its Impact On Waste Management According to Pawar and Driva (2000), not every firm is ready to embrace e commerce as it could lead to serious security, legal and financial problems. Back in early 2000s those hurdles of e commerce limited the confidence of companies in terms of Internet based business integration (Prasad et al., 2000). The research by Quayle (2002) revealed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK would generally focus on waste management rather than adopting e commerce. Have you ever wondered if some people willingly put themselves in dangerous situations just to explore their curiosity? If you had to take a guess, would you guess that men or women are more likely to willingly enter dangerous situations? People will face danger for many different reasons, some because they are not at all aware of the potential danger, and others do because their temptation is too strong. The way he enters the scene in the novel is particularly strange and seems to alarm Mary Foxe. She describes his appearance like this It seemed as he had addressed the words to me, so I opened my eyes. He was sitting to my right, his whole body turned toward me, his chin on his fist as he studied me. I hadn t heard or felt him draw near (Oyeyemi 149). The way St. John Fox snuck up on Mary Foxe so quietly appeared to startle her, even though his intentions only appear to be to engage in casual conversation by mentioning Only two hours until landing (Oyeyemi 149). Was this conversation accidental or planned? His seemingly unimportant comment wasn t what appeared to bother Mary Foxe. While describing his looks from her initial glance up at him, she said He was good looking. Enough to make me feel uncomfortable. Tall and dark, etc. (Oyeyemi 149). Mary Foxe specifically stated that St. John Fox made her feel uncomfortable solely based off of his looks, proving the earlier alternate interpretation of the chapter to be correct that she did at one point see potential danger in St. John Fox. However, there is no strong evidence to support that she was extremely bothered by slyness. A big leap in western gun technology came during the American Civil War as each side struggled to get the upper hand in the war. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rimfire bullets are crushed from the side where a chemical called primer lines the edges. This chemical ignites the gunpowder inside the casing and fires the bullet. The problem with this method is that the casing has to be skinny enough to be crushed but still funnel all the energy of the gunpowder into the bullet without breaking. The centerfire was meant to fix that while it was louder you could have a much more powerful round but having a small circle of primer stick out the back of the casing. The firing pin would hit just the primer igniting the gunpowder without crushing the casing. This meant you could have a thicker casing to fire a larger bullet. Along with centerfire bullets and guns came another advancement that we still use to this day in almost every common military rifle. The vertical fed magazine at first they were integrated into the gun itself. Meaning you loaded the bullets from the top of the gun into the magazine that was attached. This was very common during WWI and was even seen into WWII. The advantage of these vertically fed magazines was at first not recognized. The tube magazine was still the most prevalent for quite a while even after the invention of vertical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Greenhouse Effect, A Torrent of Information, and the Politics of Mass Uncertainty Introduction: Global warming, the ozone layer, and deforestation are becoming increasingly discussed topics both in the international community and society. Former Vice President Albert Gore stated in his 1992 book Earth in the Balance, The process of filling the atmosphere with CO2 and other pollutants...is a willful expansion of our dysfunctional civilization into vulnerable parts of the world (Wittwer 21). With statements like this, one might wonder what stops the human race from ending this kind of behavior. Scientists and politicians are paralyzed when addressing the issue of global warming largely from uncertainty of cause/effect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These gases trap heat by reflecting heat back to the surface the heat the Earth s surface has already reflected back in the direction of space after being heated by the sun (World Book 232 233). In the report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change , the observed global warming was likely due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations. Chemistry and Industry magazine citing the preliminary report stated, atmospheric carbon dioxide has increased 31% since 1750, and atmospheric methane by 151% ( IPCC Says Global...Own Fault 66). From agreement to confusion: Scientists do not argue that increases in greenhouse gas concentration have some relationship to higher average temperatures. The consequences of further global warming are hotly contested still and stir widespread debate and disagreement. In fact, arguments over the existence of a natural cycle of climate change and climate change induced by human activity are considerably prevalent. Arguments for both beneficial and detrimental consequences of further global warming are wide ranging. Because the plethora of arguments contributes heavily to the paralyzation of the international community it is prudent to survey some of the arguments. In June 1999, Friederike Wagner of Utrecht University and a team from Utrecht, Amsterdam and Gainesville, Florida reported in Science that levels of carbon dioxide in the air increased ... • 43. Salem Witch Trial vs Mccarthyism A review of A Fever in Salem: A New Interpretation of the New England Witch Trials, by Laurie Winn Carlson, Ivan R. Dee, Chicago, 2000; 224 pp. $14.95 Paperback. ISBN: 1 566633095 A FEVER IN SALEM POSITS A biological cause for the early modem witchcraft epidemic, which resulted in the hanging of 19 people in Salem, MA, in 1692. Witchcraft persecution, Laurie Carlson writes, arose because of the strange behavior of the supposedly bewitched accusers. She concludes that the cause was a disease unrecognizable by the science of the time: encephalitis. The history of the Salem witchcraft epidemic is well known. In the winter of 1692, two girls suffered convulsions and hallucinations, alarming fast their families and subsequently the entire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is Carlson suggesting the epidemic actually had supernatural influences? Carlson also takes aim at the psychological profession, as she does in an earlier footnote comparing the late 15th century witch hunting guidebook, The Malleus Maleficarum, with the handbook of the American Psychological Association, the DSM IV. Readers of SKEPTIC may be especially interested in Carlson s brief mention of women taken by planets while they slept, remarkably similar to modern descriptions of alien abductions. As interesting as all this is, especially to skeptics in search of natural causes for apparently supernatural events, A Fever in Salem is far from exemplary. Fundamentally, the evidence offered for the epidemiological hypothesis is inconclusive. I do not doubt Carlson s statement that historical epidemiology is inherently plausible, but this does not let her off the empirical hook. A Fever in Salem s recounting of events beyond Salem is alternately superficial and contradictory, in spite of the author s own assertion that her hypothesis fails if it cannot be applied to Europe as well. Europe suffered under witchcraft accusations for more than a century, with approximately 100,000 casualties. Carlson hints that the Salem symptoms could be compared to what happened in Europe or other areas of New England, but never fully explores it. If she wants to build her case solely on Salem, discussion of witchcraft outside of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The objective was to keep costs low by having a self service technology so that agricultural customers can buy their products without the need for a sales representative. The statistics from eStore showed even though the number of customers who signed up for eStore was close to the target, number of customers who actually used eStore remained low. The problem seemed to be mainly due to customers having difficulty with the service. According to customer s feedbacks, many encountered various technical problems when they tried to place orders.
