Conspiracy Theories And Theories Of Life And Everything
There s many different opinions and theories to life and everything in it. The question is, which
of them are real? Conspiracy theories have been around since the early 1790 s and never have
really gone out of style since then. There are many different stories, videos and articles about
conspiracy theories, all of which really make one think. One of the most shocking conspiracy
theories came around 1972, a little after NASA had conducted the first moon landing. Many
people believed that this moon landing was fake and it was all set up with green screens and
different props ( Conspiracy Theories ). Along with endless amounts of conspiracy theories comes
the most controversial conspiracy theoryof them all. The Mandela Effect all started when many
people remembered Nelson Mandela passing away when he was in prison for over twenty seven
years, when really he died just a few years ago in 2013. After this theory was sought out, more and
more people began noticing things that they misremember, whether it is a small detail in a movie,
a misspelling on a book, or even an event that they remember happening differently. To most
people, conspiracy theories are nothing more than a hoax; however, there are many facts and
figures to prove these theories. Along with the NASA conspiracy theory, there were a few other
major conspiracy theories at the time. In 1963, when president John F. Kennedywas assassinated, a
conspiracy theory came out stating that Oswald was not the only one involved

Textual Analysis Of Music
I find the process of thinking of something on a conceptual level and turning it into a conceivable
object really intriguing. It requires excellent communication not only with people but also within
one s self; I think this is also the hardest part making something new and different creating. It
requires finding an inspiration and then creating something that other people can understand and
relate to because they have either experienced what the art piece represents or because they have
thoughtof the same concept. I found it interesting how the four students interpreted the same piece
of music differently and how drastically different their representation of their concepts were. For
example, while one took a political stance, the other took a more philosophical view of good vs.
evil. I think this shows their personality and their thinking style and how they interact with the
world.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wouldn t be surprised if Crumb himself had asked himself the same question when composing the
piece and designing the musical philosophy behind the piece.
I think they all formed excellent connections with the philosophical inquires of the music they
perceived. Furthermore, they also used interesting interpretation of sound. For example, one of the
girls used silver to show the metallic, unorganized, and sharp aspects of the music. I didn t make
this connection before seeing it but once I saw how she used it, the artistic connection and
representation was clear to me too. It is this part of art I find most intriguing a form of
communication of ideas independent of speech and

Weight Training Exercises
The best type of exercises for body building will be of benefit for much more than just
developing strong muscles. These exercises will help to develop flexibility and help
cardiovascular fitness, all while increasing strength. Developing strength and fitness in this way
will also have positive benefits for mental and overall physical health. Bodybuilding is probably
the healthiest activity that someone can take part in. This is why bodybuilding is so popular, it
can make you feel good and it can make you look good too.
The best types of weight training exercises for muscle growth are compound lifts; these are
exercises that employ multi joint actions. This type is more natural than isolation exercises, and
promotes a more intense work out. Working many muscle groups in one exercise will promote the

This means that time needs to be left between exercise sessions to allow this recovery and
rebuilding process. For a beginner exercise sessions can take place every other day. But as the
muscles get stronger the stress placed on them is much greater and recovery time is longer. This
means that the interval between sessions needs to be longer.
The better types of exercises will include some cardio work. The leading sort of cardio is interval
training and a good way of doing that is sport. Sports that involve lots of sudden burst of intense
work are the best types, things like basketball are ideal. This sort of cardio is better for the joints
and provides a good workout for the heart. It is also a lot more fun than boring jogging, so it is
much easier to stick with.
The best type of exercises for body building needs the support of a good diet. A healthy diet will
allow the body to build muscle efficiently. A good diet will also promote health and make it easier

Battle Of Atlanta Essay
Battle of Atlanta
During the late 1800 s there was conflict between the Northern and Southern states causing what we
call now the Civil War. This war started due to free and slave states holding different opinions on
whether the government had the power to prohibit slavery in territories that were not yet states.
Abraham Lincoln was elected to office in 1860, pledging to keep slavery out of new territories.
After hearing about this seven southern slave states decided to secede and form a new nation, the
Confederate States of America. The Northern states did not acknowledge the secession fearing the
final outcome would be a division of all the states, this is where the Civil War began. From 1861 up
until 1865 there were many small battles fought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sherman lead Union forces into battle to take control of the city of Atlanta, Georgia. This was
part of a plan known as the Atlanta campaign that was constructed by Sherman under

1864 (2009). This was about four to five months before Sherman had led the union into Atlanta.
Sherman s plan which was revealed in April, was described to destroy railroads in order to cease

Johnston s army of Confederate soldiers retreat back to Atlanta forcing them to surrender. A

Resaca where his army would battle Union soldiers from May 13 to May 15. Although
Confederates had driven Union soldiers back on the second day of battle, after Johnston received
reports telling him of the Unions success in gaining position he decided not to attack on the

evacuation, Confederates were supposed to ambush Union soldiers on Cassville road, they were
all positioned by May 19 in the morning, but the army retreated and waited for Union soldiers to

Criminal Punishment And The Criminal Justice System
Few decisions in the criminal justice system apply as much influence over the life, liberty and the
pursuit of happiness of criminal offenders as the final sentencing decision. Judges have an extensive
range of sentencing options. These options range from fines, restitution, and probation to
incarceration in jail or prison. For much of the 20th century, criminal sentencing practices remained
largely unchanged in the United States. Over the past few decades, we have witnessed a practical
revolution in criminal punishmentprocesses. A number of different sentencing reforms have been
recently expanded, resulting in a mix of different legal approaches to sentencing in the United
States today. I will begin with a brief overview of sentencing... Show more content on

Lastly, rehabilitation is a philosophy of punishment that stresses individual offender reform.
According to this perception, the purpose of this punishment should be to address the fundamental
causes of crime in order to reduce future offending. In practice, these various sentencing
foundations often coincide, throughout history major changes in sentencing have often followed
model changes in major philosophies of punishment.
During colonial times, criminal sentencing in America was initially based on retribution and then
later on deterrence (Walker, 1998). By the late 1800s, however, sentencing in America had become
carefully conquered by rehabilitation. The goal of criminal punishment was to reform the offender
by shifting the basic causes of crime. In order to accomplish this, criminal sentences had to be
necessarily flexible to be separately reformed to the sole needs of particular offenders. This led to a
system of punishment known as indeterminate sentencing. Sentences often consisted of wide
ranges of minimum and maximum terms that could spring from a single day to a lifetime in
prison. These far reaching sentences provided maximum flexibility for determining when an
offender was therefore ready to be released back into society.
Judges would determine the ranges of punishment, and then release their decisions to be made by
prison authorities or parole boards. Such authorities would exercise considerable discretion in

Essay on My Personal Philosophy of Education
Philosophy of Education
Relating my reasons for becoming a teacher was not a very difficult task for me; to accomplish
this task I simply needed to reflect upon and describe some of my own personal experiences. I
relied basically upon my memories and thoughts about my own educational experiences. However,
describing my philosophy of education was much more difficult task for me to accomplish. First of
all, before I could properly describe my philosophy, I realized I needed a working definition of the
concept of philosophy. My search for this working definition of the term philosophy led to further
research which provided further insight into viewpoints of various well known philosophers; some

Down through the years as I played basketball, I had many different coaches and I can easily
describe these coaches by placing them within two broad categories.
In the first category were the true teacher/coaches and in the second were the true sports
enthusiast/coaches. The differences between these two categories of coaches were easy for me to
identify and, to now describe. The coaches who were true teacher/coaches sometimes were not
certified to teach professionally, but their personalities and styles of coaching were what identified
them to me as true teacher/coaches. The true teacher/coaches were not only interested in how well
I performed on the basketball court; they were interested in me as whole person. They strongly
emphasized the importance of academics and always encouraged me to do well academically, and
also to develop my other talents. These true teacher/coaches greatly influenced and will continue to
influence my decision to become a teacher. I will strive to model myself as a teacher after some of
these true teacher/coaches that I was fortunate enough to have.
Additionally, someday I also want to coach other young people in the skills needed in the game
of basketball and also in the skills needed for learning and living as my true teacher/coaches
coached me. In addition to encouraging me to do well in all areas, these coaches also emphasized

Implementing Observational Learning
The following essay provides the reader with a cursory understanding of observational learning and
how it may be implemented within the classroom. The paper first explores a workable definition of
observational learning primarily through the concept of modeling and vicarious learning. The
second part discusses the roles of the teacher and environment. The paper then discusses how
observational learningmay be used to teach positive attitudes and effective thinking skills, also
achieved through vicarious learning. Scaffolding , a learning strategy that utilizes observational and
vicarious learning is explored in the last section of this paper.
Observational learning is basically learning by watching others, referred as models. There are ...

This is referred as vicarious reinforcement, whereas vicarious punishment occurs when a student
observes a peer facing consequences for a behavior that the observer is also doing. The peer
facing a consequence essentially forces the observer to also stop behaving in a similar fashion.
Vicarious extinction occurs when the observer notices that a behavior does not produce the desired
result, therefore they cease the behavior (Vockell, 2004).
The integration of observational learning would begin with the teacher. The teacher may be the
primary role model in the classroom environment, hence it is imperative to project positive
behaviors and qualities and refrain from behaviors and attitudes that tend to diminish opportunities
towards intellectual, social and developmental growth within each student (Vockell, 2004). The
classroom environment is also taken into consideration. Environmental factors may affect outcomes
related to modeling techniques. The idea is to limit the potential effects of sensory stimuli, such as
when closing doors to the classroom in order to lessen external noise or distractions.
Attitude and thinking skills can be learned vicariously, [C]hildren develop a large number of
thinking strategies by imitating the ways their peers think. Teachers can exploit opportunities for
observational learning of attitudes and thinking skills related to academic subjects.

Racism Through the Decades
Should The adventures of Huckleberry Finn be banned from schools? In the past century many
people have argued whether it should or shouldn t be. In many perspectives, this book taught
people what it was like back then and how it used to be in 1884. Others believe that, the book
was full of racial slurs and was just racist in general. The controversy between both sides of this
book has had tremendous opinions spoken and has really changed others mind about it but if
you really decypher the book it isn t as racist as people would like to believe. It shouldn t be
banned from schools because students shouldn t be censored in what they read, especially if it
been classified as literature. Stories like this help students realize what it was like for colored
people back then and help justify their understanding of racism in the south. Just because the book
has some vulgar language in it, doesn t mean the children should be censored by it. Theres a good
chance that they are hearing worse just from their peers, at least when they read stories like The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finnby Mark Twain, they are learning actual history and making
connections on how it used to be. If you were to wipe out this book from schools, it would be
taking away the opportunity to learn about what Twain teaches in his books like attitudes in the
south, new perspectives, and examples of satire. Twain was a very ingenuity author, which is the
precise reason that his works should be taught in

Abstract
Fault tolerance is the characteristic of a system that tolerates the class of failures. It will analysis
the performance and enables a system to continue its intended operation, possibly at a reduced
level, rather than failing completely, when some part of the system fails. The system as a whole
is not stopped due to problems either in the hardware or the software. [1][2] Fault tolerance is
the ability for software to detect and recover from a fault that is happening or has already
happened in either the software or hardware in the system in which the software is running in
order to provide service in accordance with the specification. [3]Fault tolerance is not a solution
unto itself however, and it is important to realize that software fault tolerance is just one piece
necessary to create the next generation of systems. A highly fault tolerance system might continue
at the same level of performance even though one or more components have failed. For example,
a building with a backup electrical generator will provide the same voltage to wall outlets even if
the grid power fails [4].

Glaciers Essay
Glaciers
As many people hear the word glacier they immediately think about the Titanic and how it sank
because it ran into a glacier. What many people do not know is the history of glaciers. There are a
couple different types of glaciers, for instance the type that the titanic ran into is a Tidewater
glacier, which is a glacier that flows in the sea. There are also alpine glaciers which are glaciers that
are found in the mountains, and there are Continental glaciers which are associated with the ice
ages, and that covers most of the contnents at one time; including Indiana. Glacier ice is the
largest amount of fresh water in the world only second to the oceans as the largest reservoir of

On northern facing slopes it may survive all year, where if it is on a southern facing slope (in the
north hemisphere) it may melt because of the sun. If the snow last just one melting season it is
considered to be firm. Then the snow accumulates and compacts to become a glacier. The
pressure created from the overlying snow compact s the underlying layers, and the snow grains
become larger ice crystals randomly oriented in connected air spaces. These ice crystals can
eventually grow to become several centimeters in diameter (Armstrong). As the air spaces in the ice
decrease it shows that compression is continuing and the ice crystals are growing. Sometimes the
dense ice crystals can tend to look blue.
When the glacier has pressure and the forces of gravity it will begin to move and flow outwards
and downwards moving its own weight. Valley glaciers flow down valleys, and continental
glaciers (ice sheets) flow outward in all directions from a central point. Glaciers move by
internal deformation and/or by sliding at the base. Internal deformation occurs when the weight
and mass of a glacier causes it to spread out due to gravity. Sliding occurs when the glacier slides
on a thin layer of water at the bottom of the glacier. This water may come from glacial melting due
to the pressure of the overlying ice, or from water that has worked its way through cracks in the
glacier (Armstrong). When the glacier

The Treatment Of A Female Child
A female child, under 16 years of age, has been dealing with a number of health issues for several
years. Among them are STDs, bipolar, pregnancy/miscarriage, suicide attempts, and newly
discovered cervical cancer. She has a history of drugs and alcohol and is about 4 weeks into
another pregnancy. She has been expelled from school and is suppose to have home schooling
three times a week. These are canceled most of the time because she is either not at home, or is not
able to function that day. This child has decided not to have any treatment for the cervical cancer as
this would prevent her from being able to become pregnant in the future. She has also decided to
have the baby. Apparently she does not understand the ramifications involved if she does not have
the cancer surgery/treatment with regard to the safety and healthof the child she is carrying as well
as her own. There have been numerous professional people involved in the ongoing care of this
child. Various doctors, psychiatrists, Social Services, Child Protective Advocates, the courts, a
mentor and school councilors have been looking out for the welfare of this child for at least 3
years. In spite of the fact that she has a history of drugs and alcohol, and has anger management
issues and suicide attempts, nobody has taken these red flags seriously enough to protect her from
herself. The parents of this child are divorced. They are also dysfunctional. Problems have existed

Decision Making In The Picture Of Dorian Gray
Cause and Effect
In life, accumulation of mistakes usually leads to corruption if we do not take a certain decision
to make a sincere confession, to give them up. Most of the time, people who are concerned by
this type of behavior are petulant, and like to hear things favorable for them. Therefore, it is true
that any failure to make good choices in life might lead to disaster or might teach us meaningful
lessons that we would never forget. Therefore, thinking about mistakes reminded me of the
novel The Picture of Dorian Gray that I read three years ago. I think it is a good example to
illustrate my point of view regarding a friend who is jealous enough to drive a young
inexperienced person in the wrong direction. Therefore, according to a study in the life span
development, regarding decision making, I have read that older adolescents (as well as adults)
decision making skills are far from perfect, and having the capacity to make competent decisions
does not guarantee that such decisions will be made in everyday life, where breath of
experience often comes into play . So, I come to know that anyone can influence a person s
decision at this period of life because of the inability to make rational decisions. For that reason,
youths around this age need to keep good company. However, the young Dorian in The Picture of
Dorian Gray used the appearance of a handsome, pure, innocent, and inexperienced boy. His wish
was to love Sybil, and, make her the greatest actress in

Comparing Good Kings In Henry IV And Henry V
Shakespeare s Henry IV and Henry V focus heavily on the idea of good kings versus bad kings.
It is left up to the reader to define the characteristics that makes one king good or another king
bad. One may see a good king as one who is fair to his subjects. Someone else may see a king
who is powerful towards his enemies as the greatest characteristic of a good ruler. Shakespeare
touches on many of these aspects of leadership that readers may see as the defining characteristic
of being a strong monarch. One of these characteristics that is a key factor in these two plays,
along with many more of Shakespeare s works, is how legitimacy plays into making one a good
ruler. Legitimacy is touched upon often in these works due to the recent disposal... Show more

On the issue of his relation to the death of Richard, Henry promises to take a journey to the holy
land to repent for any influence he had in Richard s death. Although the journey was postponed
due to the impending rebellion, his willingness to admit wrongdoing and seek forgiving is a
powerful characteristic of a king. As king, he has the power to deny accusations and silence the
accusers if need be, but he shows integrity by admitting those mistakes and seeking to move on.
When it comes to his issues with Price Hal, he decides not to give up on him, and he calls for his
help to put down rebellion in the country. This patience with his son proves valuable when Hal
saves his life in the battle and defeats Hotspur in combat to help bring an end to the rebel cause.
Lastly, he leads men into battle against the rebels and come out victorious. The ability to lead by
example and being able to understand warfare are only a few of the important qualities he shows
in response to rebellion. These responses to the most pressing issues in relation to his rule are
what show Henry IV to be a good and just king without the issue of legitimacy being an

Analyzing The Root Causes Of Risk Mismanagement
Analyzing the Root Causes of Risk Mismanagement
Introduction
According to Kendrick (2009, p. 17), roughly 75 percent of projects fail when project teams
refuse to adopt some form of risk monitoring and control. Ken Black (1996), an associate
professor of decision sciences, published an article listing twelve factors that contribute to the
failure of projects. The article highlighted risks, as one of the factors that can negatively affect
project constraints (Black, 1996). A risk, as defined by Kendrick (2009, p. 1), is an event or series
of events that occur due to the level of uncertainty associated with the project outcome. If a risk
occurs, it threatens the success of a project because it can halt or prolong the project s constraints. ...

Novice team members mistakenly assume that risks will not occur (Jutte, n.d.). Likewise, novice
team members also associate the implementation of risk management with adding extra work to an
already time poor schedule without any added benefits (Kendrick, 2009, p. 21). Too, novice team
members have no frame of reference for estimating the probability of impact of risk occurrences
and may adopt ineffective risk response strategies thereby increasing the impacts of risk
occurrences.
Unlike novice team members, veteran team members understand the benefits of risk management
and draw upon their experience with past projects to mitigate risks (Awati, 2011). However,
veteran team members assert their individual perception when proposing approaches to risk
management based on their personal experiences (Awati, 2011). According to Awati (2009),
subjective judgments such as of illusion of control give veteran team members a false sense of
security with the respect to the degree of control they have over minimizing or avoiding a risk.
Likewise, groupthink is an example of veteran team members intimidating less experienced
colleagues into agreeing with an approach because they present evidence that contradicts their
resolution (Awati, 2009). Thus, all cognitive biases contain some degree of error in perception and
can lead to project failure.

AT T was broken up into the Bell companies in 1974 by the U.S. Department of Justice antitrust suit

Mental Health And Human Service
Introduction
Social work practice is a profession which requires many knowledge bases which overlap in
different contexts. Mental health is a knowledge base that social workers must acquire in vast
quantity and quality, as it can appear in any health and human service in which they work in. The
ability to work with those with mental illness within health and human service is paramount. This
requires the capacity to work with and within the individual s environment, recognise, comprehend
and respond, with appropriate and relevance to present and foreseeable needs and impacts.
Working within a case study of the fictitious Mary Jalco, social workpractice will explored. This
will include an assessment and intervention plan from the social work perspective, social work
values and ethics and critical reflection on the health and human service for the mentally ill
within a social work context. The challenges of working with the mentally ill will also be
examined, accompanied by strategies to help overcome them. At Sunnydale Public Hospital in the
geriatric ward my role is within a multi disciplinary team as a class 1 social worker. My role and
responsibilities are outlined in Appendix A.
Background Information

Writing Programs On A Block Programming Environment
I am writing to find out whether writing programs in a block programming environment is more
effective compared to a high level language. I will look at both block programming
environments and high level languages by researching and explaining what each of them are
but also by giving examples of programs made using them and by focusing on both the
advantages and disadvantages of writing programs in these ways. I will compare the two
together and decide whether they are suited to complex or simple situations and also as well as
this will look at whether the programmer needs knowledge on how to create a program using
them. Computer languages are used to create programs and are set of instructions which the
computer uses to run a program. There are a lot of computer languages however, they all have
different features. One of them is high level language. The advantage of using high level
language is that it s person friendly, so humans can understand it easily as it s written in text
which means that it s also easier to write and maintain. High level language is also portable and
can work across different CPU families and as well as this it supports a wide range of data types.
An another advantage of using it is that it programs faster and takes less time to code. A
disadvantage of using high level language to program is that it needs to be translated into machine
code before it can be executed so that the CPU can run it as computers only use and understand
binary data. This can

The Benefits Of Driving Limitation For Teenagers
Should there be so many driving limitation for young teenagers? Should these laws include
limiting the time of day that a teenage driver can drive alone or the number of passengers
permitted in the car? Also, would it be helpful to have a permit system that would give new drivers
more experience before they get behind the wheel alone on their own? Are these laws beneficial
/necessary for young drivers?
Teenage drivers are not always following the laws that are in place that would restrict them from
driving during overnight hours, using cell phones, and limiting the number of passengers they can
have in the car. It would seem that one of the biggest accomplishments in a teenager s life is
receiving their driver s license. It is my opinion that, obtaining a license gives a teenager freedom;
a newfound sense of independence. This new independence can be very intoxicating. Teenagers
drive themselves to school functions, extracurricular activities, or to work. A friend drives over
to visit or to pick them up to go somewhere. It is very thrilling to know that you are not at your
parent s mercy to drive you to and from school, meet friends, or to work. But with all of this new
freedom comes responsibility which most sixteen year olds are not ready to handle.
I understand why teenagers would want to break the law and drive before they are legally ready.
Teenagers crave independence. As they grow into young adults, they feel the need to spread
their wings, and move away from the nest. Driving is an important milestone that allows
teenagers to transition into adulthood independently. Teenagers look forward to that
independence with great anticipation, and want to drive earlier, therefore, they end up breaking
laws which are there to protect the young teenager. There is a time in the teenage years,
especially the ages sixteen twenty which are considered a rite of passage for many individuals
who want to apply for a driver s license and legally drive the car as a licensed driver. It isn t just
teens that are excited to reach that defining age; even parents are excited and motivated as well to
join their kids in this exciting time of their life. Because of this, young teenage drivers have
consistently broken the driving

The Silent Film Within Our Gates
In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth
examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of
the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The
Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment
of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or
otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and
many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice
and fail to do so. However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system
between 1920 and 2015? While not representative of this entire time span, in 1962, Robert
Mulligan s film To Kill a Mockingbird focuses on racerelations and an African Americanmale
wrongly accused of rape who is ultimately killed in a suspicious police shooting. Within Our
Gates and To Kill a Mockingbird each offer a presentation of a gross miscarriage of justice that is
obvious to the omniscient viewer, but the reaction the films garner from the audience varies from
outrage to resignation due to the implementation (or lack thereof) of a visual stimuli, telling of the
time period in which the films were produced.

The Emergency Of Climate Change And Why People Are Failing
Take Home Essay #2 (Response #1)
The article written by Franz and Mayer (2009) explains how an everyday situation or global issue
is perceived as an emergency. In the article the authors focus on the emergency of climate change
and why people are failing to take action. To help explain this, Franz and Mayer convey to us a
system that includes five steps: step one, noticing the event; step two, interpreting the event as an
emergency; step three, feeling personally responsible to act; step four, knowing what to do; and
step five, implementing the required acts.
While the main point of this article is the aforementioned system, they extend this five stage model
to explore why people do and do not take action against climate change. In the first step, Franz and
Mayer provide examples of a couple of things that attest to climate change. Things like rising CO2
emissions and temperature changes are only amongst a few of the things that contribute but two of
the main factors. The authors mention that, People in modern industrial societies like the United
States spend up to 90% of their time indoors in artificial, temperature controlled environment s
(Evans McCoy, 1998). It is things like these that contribute to the inability of some to see climate
change as an issue because they are so disconnected from the world around them, but as the authors
conveyed the opposite, people who are intimately tied to the environment do tend to notice the
environmental changes that are taking

The Battle with Nividia and Amd
anonymous axolotl hour 8 edited by Title
The battle between Nividia and Amd has been waging sence 1993. Which company has the best
gpu? Which company provides the best gaming experiance? well thats exactly what this paper is
about. this paper states that the nividia genforce gtx 780 ti provides a better gaming experiance
than the amd radieon r9 290 x. these two cards currently (as of december of 2013) are the best
cards for gaming that money can buy. also it is stated that all benchmarks temperature tests, and fps
counts are done with the same cpu, motherboard, ram, psu, and cooling technology. So lets end this
battle once and for all.
first, lets discuss CUDA cores and shader units. These are both practicly the same thing, just
from diffent companys. CUDA stands for compute unifies device achitecture ( Nividia 3). these
powerful units can be manipulated for any of your graphical needs. they can process images in
ultra high resolutions, or even work together to make a super realistic phisics engine. (hint: look
in paragraph 5 for more information on that). for the number people out ther the Gtx 780 ti has
2880 CUDA cores( newegg 10). Also the R9 290x has 2880 shader units (newegg is measured in
10). so as you can see there isnt any diffences in power there. next, lets talk about clock speeds.
clocks speeds are basicly how fast your gpu can use its hardware to pocess the graphics in your
game. the clock speed of a graphics card id measured in mhz. a mhz is 1 million hz.

According to the recommendations, I came in below the suggested amount for all three
categories. Carbohydrates are the body s primary source of energy. Without adequate
carbohydrates, a person may feel fatigued and weak, as the body looks elsewhere for sources of
energy. A severe lack of carbohydrates can deprive critical bodily organs the necessary energy to
properly function. Lipids are naturally occurring organic compounds that include fats and oils.
An excess of some lipids can increase the chances of certain health problems, lipids are vital
nutrients to a healthy body. Lipids are necessary for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins. A
diet too low on lipids lowers the level of good cholesterol, decreases the body s energy level and
can disturb the body s formation of cells and cell functions. During the three days of documented

promote proper digestive functions, helps lower cholesterol, and helps in lowering the risk of
diabetes and heart disease. My intake was too low based on the recommended consumption, and

Private Property and the Rule of the Middle Class in...
Private Property and the Rule of the Middle Class in Aristotle s Politics
In his discussions of constitutions and cities in Politics, Aristotle makes it very clear that his top
priority is to provide people with the opportunity to pursue and achieve the good life. An integral
part of this is the stability of the constitution. Although Aristotleexplicitly states that a kingship is
the best system of rule for any given generation, its lack of stability from one generation to the next
disqualifies it from being the best in reality. In his attempts to find a constitution with stability,
Aristotle comes to the decision that the middle class would be the ruler of such a constitution. This,
he says, will minimize the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those constitutions which consider the common interest are right constitutions...those constitutions
which consider only the personal interest of the rulers are all wrong constitutions, or perversions of
the right forms (III.6). The kingship, however, does not appear at the top of Aristotle s list of good
constitutions constitutions that best allow its citizens to achieve the good life but rather on the
bottom: constitutional government (polity), aristocracy, and then monarchy, in decreasing order
of virtue. Aristotle explains this discrepancy by revealing that providing the citizens with a good
life necessarily implies the need for stability. It remains to treat of the methods for preserving
constitutions in general (V.8). A kingship may be the most virtuous constitutional type for any
given generation, but it is extremely vulnerable to corruption from one generation to the next. If
the kingship is accepted as the best form of government for cities, what is to be the position of
the king s children? Are we to say that his descendants should also be kings? If they turn out as
some of them have done, the result will be mischievous (III.15). The virtue of a kingship is based
on the virtue of the king on one man. One man, who rules a single generation justly, in pursuit of
the common interest, may pass his power on to a man who rules the next general with malice and
greed, in pursuit of his

Proctor Argument Essay
As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, a proctor is one appointed to supervise students at
an examination (Merriam Webster.org, n.d). In the academic community, proctored exams are
considered the optimum solution. Once a student takes an examination under the supervision of a
proctor, the expertise has several advantages. Proctored exams validate the integrity of a student s
entire transcript. once a final examination is run by an objective proctor, it lends significant
credibility to a student s incontestable mastery and ability of the topic. When a student takes
proctored exams, the expertise demonstrates that the scholar will perform during this setting
equally similarly as their traditionally schooled peers. Hence, The UoPeople regulated the

In 2008, losses of these securities were estimated to exceed $500 billion.
A global saving glut is considered as a factor that contributed to the global financial crisis. In
early 1990 s, developing countries such as China used to borrow capital from developed
countries. But developed countries suffered currency crisis due to low level of foreign exchange
holding and it caused developing countries capital outflow and recession. After the currency crisis,
developed countries started managing international capital flows. These countries increased the
saving but reduced the investment therefore it caused the current account surplus. Countries such
as South Korea and Thailand started holding high volume of foreign currency and it led to
global saving glut. It allowed the US to overinvest and in 2002 the US recorded current account
deficit of over $450 billion. A factor contributed to the low interest rate was an influx of Chinese
capital into the US. Bernanke (2005) suggested the global saving glut helped increase in the US
currency account deficit and the relatively low level of long term real interest rates in the world.
As a result, global saving glut caused the credit availability and the US housing boom.

Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe s The Cask Of Amontillado
The American Romantic/ Gothic period was basically the Renaissance of American literature.
American romantics were influenced by eras that before them, and their writings were a different
reaction against the philosophy of the previous eras. With this being said, American Romanticism
grew from salvation, and guilt, as they excitedly developed their own unique style of writing.
American romantic authors had a strong sense of general identity and pride in being American. For
this reason, American authors during this time had a discrete desire to develop their own unique
character separate from British literature. In order to accomplish this goal, the poet Edgar Allan Poe
was rebellious and personal in his writing; and this explains the extraordinary creativity found
throughout his work. Edgar Allan Poe had a unique and dark form writing style the mysterious
style of writing showed emotion and drama. He used the themes of Gothic, death of the women he
loved, and good vs. evil. These forms of writing styles are shown in The Cask of Amontillado , The
Raven , and Tell Tale Heart. It demonstrates all the major aspects of the American Romantic
revolution: rejection of classicism, eager naivety, and unusual detachment regarding time and space.
The story of The Cast of Amontillado is a classic Gothic horror tale of a mad man wanting
revenge. This short story can be quite frightening, because the narrator is able to keep a calm voice

Lord Call Samuel Research Paper
Throughout the course of the Bible, God has called countless to people to follow His plan for
them. Although some remain hesitant at first, it is seemingly impossible to altogether reject God s
calling. There are many examples of this in both the Bible and the world today. Samuel was called
to serve as prophet, Marywas called to serve as the Mother of God, and my grandfather was called
to serve as a deacon in the Catholic Church. God calls everyone to fulfill their vocation, but it takes
people different amounts of time to finally respond to that calling.
The Lord called Samuel to be the first of Israel s great prophets at time when much of Israel was
in a state of disunity. As the people called for a king to control the land, Samuel would serve as
the last of the Judges and a link between God and His people. Samuel s mother, Hannah, was
originally declared barren, but was granted a son after praying to God begging for a child.
Hannah promised God that if she was given a child that the baby would serve the Lord in his life.
Thus, Hannah gave Samuel to a priest named Eli (Bible).

which is much higher than the overall unemployment rate in Mississippi at 7.2%. Sunflower
County is also one of the poorest counties in the states and one of the poorest in the United
States. 36.1% of people living in Sunflower County are below the poverty level. This isn t
counting those who are struggling or those wavering right about the poverty line. The overall
poverty rate for Mississippi is 22.7%. One factor that could contribute to poverty in Sunflower
County is the lack of education. Many school districts in Sunflower County have been put under
the conservatorship of the Mississippi Department of Education due to academic and financial
reasons. 70.2% of Sunflower County residents graduate from high school and only 13% have
obtained their Bachelor s Degree. Another factor could be that there are more white collar jobs
than blue collar jobs. Undereducated individuals would not qualify for many white collar jobs
leaving them without employment. There are many steps that could be taken to help prevent or
solve the poverty issue in Sunflower County. They could encourage residents to graduate and
further their education, whether it is in college or a certificate program. If there are more white
collar jobs, they will

Book Report on Apology Essay
Book Report on Apology
In the Apology , Socrates tackles his accusers against certain accusations made against him in the
Court of Law of Athens, Greece. The nature of the accusation that has caused him to stand trial is
such that Socrates is an evil doer, and a curious person, who searches into things under the earth
and in heaven, and he makes the worse appear the better cause; and he teaches the aforesaid
doctrines to others (Plato. The Republic and other plays. pg 449. Doubleday publishing; New York
1989). Socrates begins with first identifying the type of accusers he has, which consist of those who
are in direct contention with him, the primary accusers, since they are the ones who contrived the
accusations. Then there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
pg 454). He then explains that if he was corrupting others, he too would have been corrupted
long ago and there would be no good left. Also he rebuttals the charge of not believing in Gods
while believing in higher divinities. The charge, he shows how ludicrous was indeed in nature
since how can anyone believe in flute playing and not the flute player (Plato, pg 457). How can
one believe in spiritual and divine agencies, and not in spirits or demigods? But ultimately
Socrates defense is his self lessness. He attributes his deeds to his duty towards God. He makes it
clear that the obligation to truth is far more closer to God than any other social one that is
marked by malice. His poverty, his unchanging and impartial ways that he followed all his life to
search for the truth and when having found it, give it to others without taking into consideration
what the government in power would say or do about it in itself is an evidence and a virtue that
rises above all others to prove him innocent. His defense is simple and artless because it is the
truth, within which some more properties emerge. One of these can be identified as the simplicity
of truth and the other is its universality. Truly, although several impugn Socrates of wrong doing
and misguiding the youth, he was not the first or the last one tried on such a charge. This points to
the nature of truth to be unchanging. Despite all the advances a society may claim to having

The Pros And Cons Of World Population Control
Have you ever wondered what the answer to world problems is? World population control is one
option, but it is not a good one. Some say that it would help improve life, and would help bring
balance to the world. However, I believe that population control would not truly help anyone. World
population control is not the answer to world problems, for it would take away humanlife, the right
to have kids, and in the long run would not help any living thing.
The idea of population control started out many years ago. The person who first started Planned
Parenthood wanted to control the population of African Americans because she wanted less of
them around (National Public Radio). She tried to persuade more African Americans to come to
Planned Parenthood than people of other races. In addition, there was forced population control
during the Holocaust, a time in World War II, when Nazi Germany tried to exterminate all Jews
and others the Germans did not like (National Public Radio). This was because Adolf Hitler
discriminated against anyone not white or German. In the late 20th century, the Chinese decided to
make a rule to where each family could only have one child (an ... Show more content on

A baby s cells begin to grow very soon within pregnancy and its life begins even from the first day
of conception (Pro life Across America). For example, a baby boy named Rowan was 22 weeks
old when his mother decided she did not want another child, so she aborted him. His heart was
injected with a chemical called digoxin to kill him in what was perceived as the least painful
way. However, some babies survive abortions, and Rowan was one such baby. The next day, the
mother gave birth to an alive baby. The doctors had meant to kill Rowan, but nevertheless, he was
born alive. However, the chemical was still in him, so he died anyway (Live Action News). If
women were required to abort their babies after they had had a certain number, many could end up

Poisonwood Tree Symbolism
The meaning of the cave isn t lying on the surface of the novel. Rather, it waits somewhere deep,
and part of what it requires of us is to bring something of ourselves to the encounter. If we want to
figure out what a symbol might mean, we have to use a variety of tools on it: questions, experience,
preexisting knowledge(Foster 106 107). This passage is referring to dive deep into thought about
what a symbol really stands for. In this case a cave, the cave is more than just an underground
chamber inside the Earth. It s a place of our ancestors, of darkness, and of mystery. In the novel A
Passage to India, the caves have different meanings for everyone. The meaning of a cave means

The Price family moved from small town Bethlehem, GA to the Congo of Africa. Considering
they came from a wealthy, normal American town, the Congo would be a very different place to
get accustomed to. Father Price thinks the Congo will be a place where he can easily plant
crops from back in the US and integrate the idea of farming within the Congo. My Father had
been going to the garden alone, every day, to sit and think. It disturbed him that the plants
thrived and filled the fenced patch with bloom like a funeral parlor, but would not set fruit...The
flowers would open and close, then the green fruits behind them would shrivel and turn brown.
There wasn t a single exception. In exchange for our honest sweat, we d so far earned flowers
and leaves, but nothing we could actually have for supper (Kingsolver 77 78). Father Price
believed that he could do good in the Congo and plant a garden to show the Congolese how to
farm and grow crops. This was a mistake because the Congo is so geographically different from
Georgia. Also, as Foster puts it you cannot put someone into a complex setting who is normal ,
and Father Price does fall into that category of normality. The flowers don t bear fruit as a result
of the geographical differences, but also may not bear fruit as a result of Father Prices arrogance
towards the people of the Congo. He thinks of them as clueless people who can t do anything for

Contract Law Case Study
In order for a law ( bill ) to receive royal accent (approved by the governor general), the bill must
pass through the House of Representatives and the Senate. This article will talk about how a law
is passed through both houses and become law under difference circumstances, when the
government of the day have a majority in both houses, in the House of Representatives and in a
minority government. If the bill is introduced in the House of Representatives, the bill must be
read 3 times and then be sent to the Senate for debate If a majority of Senators approves the bill,
the bill is passed and will receive royal accent. If the Senate rejects the bill, the bill will be sent
back to the House of Representatives and the legislative process will start again. If the Senate
made amendments to a bill and aggress to it, it must be sent back to the House Representatives for
approval. Using the example of the passage of the Workchoices legislation, In 2004, the Howard
Government won a majority in both houses. The majority means that the government is able to
pass law without the usual the usual situation in which they need to deal with the crossbench
members of the Senate to pass a bill. For example, the Workplace Relations Act 2005 (known as
Workchoices) was introduced on 2nd November... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, the government have to compromise with the cross bench in the Senate to pass a bill
because of the proportionality nature of the Senate except in 2004 2007 when the government have
a majority in both houses. But in most situations the government cannot do whatever they want
because they have to negotiate with Senators. In the 2010 election, Labor won a minority
government and the Greens held the balance of power in the Senate. Labor won the support of the
Greens in the senate and independents in the house. The system of the Senate makes bills more
difficult to pass, but it also act as a final barrier before a bill is

  • 2. Conspiracy Theories And Theories Of Life And Everything There s many different opinions and theories to life and everything in it. The question is, which of them are real? Conspiracy theories have been around since the early 1790 s and never have really gone out of style since then. There are many different stories, videos and articles about conspiracy theories, all of which really make one think. One of the most shocking conspiracy theories came around 1972, a little after NASA had conducted the first moon landing. Many people believed that this moon landing was fake and it was all set up with green screens and different props ( Conspiracy Theories ). Along with endless amounts of conspiracy theories comes the most controversial conspiracy theoryof them all. The Mandela Effect all started when many people remembered Nelson Mandela passing away when he was in prison for over twenty seven years, when really he died just a few years ago in 2013. After this theory was sought out, more and more people began noticing things that they misremember, whether it is a small detail in a movie, a misspelling on a book, or even an event that they remember happening differently. To most people, conspiracy theories are nothing more than a hoax; however, there are many facts and figures to prove these theories. Along with the NASA conspiracy theory, there were a few other major conspiracy theories at the time. In 1963, when president John F. Kennedywas assassinated, a conspiracy theory came out stating that Oswald was not the only one involved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Textual Analysis Of Music I find the process of thinking of something on a conceptual level and turning it into a conceivable object really intriguing. It requires excellent communication not only with people but also within one s self; I think this is also the hardest part making something new and different creating. It requires finding an inspiration and then creating something that other people can understand and relate to because they have either experienced what the art piece represents or because they have thoughtof the same concept. I found it interesting how the four students interpreted the same piece of music differently and how drastically different their representation of their concepts were. For example, while one took a political stance, the other took a more philosophical view of good vs. evil. I think this shows their personality and their thinking style and how they interact with the world.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I wouldn t be surprised if Crumb himself had asked himself the same question when composing the piece and designing the musical philosophy behind the piece. I think they all formed excellent connections with the philosophical inquires of the music they perceived. Furthermore, they also used interesting interpretation of sound. For example, one of the girls used silver to show the metallic, unorganized, and sharp aspects of the music. I didn t make this connection before seeing it but once I saw how she used it, the artistic connection and representation was clear to me too. It is this part of art I find most intriguing a form of communication of ideas independent of speech and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This war started due to free and slave states holding different opinions on whether the government had the power to prohibit slavery in territories that were not yet states. Abraham Lincoln was elected to office in 1860, pledging to keep slavery out of new territories. After hearing about this seven southern slave states decided to secede and form a new nation, the Confederate States of America. The Northern states did not acknowledge the secession fearing the final outcome would be a division of all the states, this is where the Civil War began. • 6. Criminal Punishment And The Criminal Justice System Few decisions in the criminal justice system apply as much influence over the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of criminal offenders as the final sentencing decision. Judges have an extensive range of sentencing options. These options range from fines, restitution, and probation to incarceration in jail or prison. For much of the 20th century, criminal sentencing practices remained largely unchanged in the United States. Over the past few decades, we have witnessed a practical revolution in criminal punishmentprocesses. A number of different sentencing reforms have been recently expanded, resulting in a mix of different legal approaches to sentencing in the United States today. I will begin with a brief overview of sentencing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, rehabilitation is a philosophy of punishment that stresses individual offender reform. According to this perception, the purpose of this punishment should be to address the fundamental causes of crime in order to reduce future offending. In practice, these various sentencing foundations often coincide, throughout history major changes in sentencing have often followed model changes in major philosophies of punishment. During colonial times, criminal sentencing in America was initially based on retribution and then later on deterrence (Walker, 1998). By the late 1800s, however, sentencing in America had become carefully conquered by rehabilitation. The goal of criminal punishment was to reform the offender by shifting the basic causes of crime. In order to accomplish this, criminal sentences had to be necessarily flexible to be separately reformed to the sole needs of particular offenders. This led to a system of punishment known as indeterminate sentencing. Sentences often consisted of wide ranges of minimum and maximum terms that could spring from a single day to a lifetime in prison. These far reaching sentences provided maximum flexibility for determining when an offender was therefore ready to be released back into society. Judges would determine the ranges of punishment, and then release their decisions to be made by prison authorities or parole boards. Such authorities would exercise considerable discretion in ... The coaches who were true teacher/coaches sometimes were not certified to teach professionally, but their personalities and styles of coaching were what identified them to me as true teacher/coaches. The second part discusses the roles of the teacher and environment. The paper then discusses how observational learningmay be used to teach positive attitudes and effective thinking skills, also achieved through vicarious learning. This is referred as vicarious reinforcement, whereas vicarious punishment occurs when a student observes a peer facing consequences for a behavior that the observer is also doing. The peer facing a consequence essentially forces the observer to also stop behaving in a similar fashion. Vicarious extinction occurs when the observer notices that a behavior does not produce the desired result, therefore they cease the behavior (Vockell, 2004). The integration of observational learning would begin with the teacher. The teacher may be the primary role model in the classroom environment, hence it is imperative to project positive behaviors and qualities and refrain from behaviors and attitudes that tend to diminish opportunities towards intellectual, social and developmental growth within each student (Vockell, 2004). The classroom environment is also taken into consideration. Environmental factors may affect outcomes related to modeling techniques. The idea is to limit the potential effects of sensory stimuli, such as when closing doors to the classroom in order to lessen external noise or distractions. • 10. Racism Through the Decades Should The adventures of Huckleberry Finn be banned from schools? In the past century many people have argued whether it should or shouldn t be. In many perspectives, this book taught people what it was like back then and how it used to be in 1884. Others believe that, the book was full of racial slurs and was just racist in general. The controversy between both sides of this book has had tremendous opinions spoken and has really changed others mind about it but if you really decypher the book it isn t as racist as people would like to believe. It shouldn t be banned from schools because students shouldn t be censored in what they read, especially if it been classified as literature. Stories like this help students realize what it was like for colored people back then and help justify their understanding of racism in the south. Just because the book has some vulgar language in it, doesn t mean the children should be censored by it. Theres a good chance that they are hearing worse just from their peers, at least when they read stories like The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnby Mark Twain, they are learning actual history and making connections on how it used to be. It will analysis the performance and enables a system to continue its intended operation, possibly at a reduced level, rather than failing completely, when some part of the system fails. The system as a whole is not stopped due to problems either in the hardware or the software. [1][2] Fault tolerance is the ability for software to detect and recover from a fault that is happening or has already happened in either the software or hardware in the system in which the software is running in order to provide service in accordance with the specification. [3]Fault tolerance is not a solution unto itself however, and it is important to realize that software fault tolerance is just one piece necessary to create the next generation of systems. A highly fault tolerance system might continue at the same level of performance even though one or more components have failed. For example, a building with a backup electrical generator will provide the same voltage to wall outlets even if the grid power fails [4]. Keywords: fault tolerance of software, ... If the snow last just one melting season it is considered to be firm. Then the snow accumulates and compacts to become a glacier. The pressure created from the overlying snow compact s the underlying layers, and the snow grains become larger ice crystals randomly oriented in connected air spaces. These ice crystals can eventually grow to become several centimeters in diameter (Armstrong). As the air spaces in the ice decrease it shows that compression is continuing and the ice crystals are growing. Sometimes the dense ice crystals can tend to look blue. When the glacier has pressure and the forces of gravity it will begin to move and flow outwards and downwards moving its own weight. Valley glaciers flow down valleys, and continental glaciers (ice sheets) flow outward in all directions from a central point. Glaciers move by internal deformation and/or by sliding at the base. Internal deformation occurs when the weight and mass of a glacier causes it to spread out due to gravity. Sliding occurs when the glacier slides on a thin layer of water at the bottom of the glacier. This water may come from glacial melting due to the pressure of the overlying ice, or from water that has worked its way through cracks in the glacier (Armstrong). When the glacier ... Among them are STDs, bipolar, pregnancy/miscarriage, suicide attempts, and newly discovered cervical cancer. She has a history of drugs and alcohol and is about 4 weeks into another pregnancy. She has been expelled from school and is suppose to have home schooling three times a week. These are canceled most of the time because she is either not at home, or is not able to function that day. • 16. Decision Making In The Picture Of Dorian Gray Cause and Effect In life, accumulation of mistakes usually leads to corruption if we do not take a certain decision to make a sincere confession, to give them up. Most of the time, people who are concerned by this type of behavior are petulant, and like to hear things favorable for them. Therefore, it is true that any failure to make good choices in life might lead to disaster or might teach us meaningful lessons that we would never forget. Therefore, thinking about mistakes reminded me of the novel The Picture of Dorian Gray that I read three years ago. I think it is a good example to illustrate my point of view regarding a friend who is jealous enough to drive a young inexperienced person in the wrong direction. Therefore, according to a study in the life span development, regarding decision making, I have read that older adolescents (as well as adults) decision making skills are far from perfect, and having the capacity to make competent decisions does not guarantee that such decisions will be made in everyday life, where breath of experience often comes into play . So, I come to know that anyone can influence a person s decision at this period of life because of the inability to make rational decisions. For that reason, youths around this age need to keep good company. However, the young Dorian in The Picture of Dorian Gray used the appearance of a handsome, pure, innocent, and inexperienced boy. It is left up to the reader to define the characteristics that makes one king good or another king bad. One may see a good king as one who is fair to his subjects. Someone else may see a king who is powerful towards his enemies as the greatest characteristic of a good ruler. Shakespeare touches on many of these aspects of leadership that readers may see as the defining characteristic of being a strong monarch. Analyzing The Root Causes Of Risk Mismanagement Analyzing the Root Causes of Risk Mismanagement Introduction According to Kendrick (2009, p. 17), roughly 75 percent of projects fail when project teams refuse to adopt some form of risk monitoring and control. Ken Black (1996), an associate professor of decision sciences, published an article listing twelve factors that contribute to the failure of projects. The article highlighted risks, as one of the factors that can negatively affect project constraints (Black, 1996). A risk, as defined by Kendrick (2009, p. 1), is an event or series of events that occur due to the level of uncertainty associated with the project outcome. If a risk occurs, it threatens the success of a project because it can halt or prolong the project s constraints. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Novice team members mistakenly assume that risks will not occur (Jutte, n.d.). Likewise, novice team members also associate the implementation of risk management with adding extra work to an already time poor schedule without any added benefits (Kendrick, 2009, p. 21). Too, novice team members have no frame of reference for estimating the probability of impact of risk occurrences and may adopt ineffective risk response strategies thereby increasing the impacts of risk occurrences. Unlike novice team members, veteran team members understand the benefits of risk management and draw upon their experience with past projects to mitigate risks (Awati, 2011). However, veteran team members assert their individual perception when proposing approaches to risk management based on their personal experiences (Awati, 2011). According to Awati (2009), subjective judgments such as of illusion of control give veteran team members a false sense of security with the respect to the degree of control they have over minimizing or avoiding a risk. Likewise, groupthink is an example of veteran team members intimidating less experienced colleagues into agreeing with an approach because they present evidence that contradicts their resolution (Awati, 2009). Thus, all cognitive biases contain some degree of error in perception and can lead to project failure. Project Changes During the course of a project, change is an inevitable certainty and ... I will look at both block programming environments and high level languages by researching and explaining what each of them are but also by giving examples of programs made using them and by focusing on both the advantages and disadvantages of writing programs in these ways. I will compare the two together and decide whether they are suited to complex or simple situations and also as well as this will look at whether the programmer needs knowledge on how to create a program using them. Computer languages are used to create programs and are set of instructions which the computer uses to run a program. There are a lot of computer languages however, they all have different features. One of them is high level language. The advantage of using high level language is that it s person friendly, so humans can understand it easily as it s written in text which means that it s also easier to write and maintain. High level language is also portable and can work across different CPU families and as well as this it supports a wide range of data types. An another advantage of using it is that it programs faster and takes less time to code. A disadvantage of using high level language to program is that it needs to be translated into machine code before it can be executed so that the CPU can run it as computers only use and understand binary data. • 25. The Benefits Of Driving Limitation For Teenagers Should there be so many driving limitation for young teenagers? Should these laws include limiting the time of day that a teenage driver can drive alone or the number of passengers permitted in the car? Also, would it be helpful to have a permit system that would give new drivers more experience before they get behind the wheel alone on their own? Are these laws beneficial /necessary for young drivers? Teenage drivers are not always following the laws that are in place that would restrict them from driving during overnight hours, using cell phones, and limiting the number of passengers they can have in the car. It would seem that one of the biggest accomplishments in a teenager s life is receiving their driver s license. It is my opinion that, obtaining a license gives a teenager freedom; a newfound sense of independence. This new independence can be very intoxicating. Teenagers drive themselves to school functions, extracurricular activities, or to work. A friend drives over to visit or to pick them up to go somewhere. It is very thrilling to know that you are not at your parent s mercy to drive you to and from school, meet friends, or to work. But with all of this new freedom comes responsibility which most sixteen year olds are not ready to handle. I understand why teenagers would want to break the law and drive before they are legally ready. Teenagers crave independence. As they grow into young adults, they feel the need to spread their wings, and move away from the nest. Driving is an important milestone that allows teenagers to transition into adulthood independently. Teenagers look forward to that independence with great anticipation, and want to drive earlier, therefore, they end up breaking laws which are there to protect the young teenager. There is a time in the teenage years, especially the ages sixteen twenty which are considered a rite of passage for many individuals who want to apply for a driver s license and legally drive the car as a licensed driver. It isn t just teens that are excited to reach that defining age; even parents are excited and motivated as well to join their kids in this exciting time of their life. The Silent Film Within Our Gates In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice and fail to do so. In the article the authors focus on the emergency of climate change and why people are failing to take action. To help explain this, Franz and Mayer convey to us a system that includes five steps: step one, noticing the event; step two, interpreting the event as an emergency; step three, feeling personally responsible to act; step four, knowing what to do; and step five, implementing the required acts. While the main point of this article is the aforementioned system, they extend this five stage model to explore why people do and do not take action against climate change. In the first step, Franz and Mayer provide examples of a couple of things that attest to climate change. Things like rising CO2 emissions and temperature changes are only amongst a few of the things that contribute but two of the main factors. The authors mention that, People in modern industrial societies like the United States spend up to 90% of their time indoors in artificial, temperature controlled environment s (Evans McCoy, 1998). It is things like these that contribute to the inability of some to see climate change as an issue because they are so disconnected from the world around them, but as the authors conveyed the opposite, people who are intimately tied to the environment do tend to notice the environmental changes that are taking ... Samuel was called to serve as prophet, Marywas called to serve as the Mother of God, and my grandfather was called to serve as a deacon in the Catholic Church. God calls everyone to fulfill their vocation, but it takes people different amounts of time to finally respond to that calling. The Lord called Samuel to be the first of Israel s great prophets at time when much of Israel was in a state of disunity. As the people called for a king to control the land, Samuel would serve as the last of the Judges and a link between God and His people. Samuel s mother, Hannah, was originally declared barren, but was granted a son after praying to God begging for a child. Hannah promised God that if she was given a child that the baby would serve the Lord in his life. Thus, Hannah gave Samuel to a priest named Eli (Bible). One night when Samuel was asleep, the Lord called to Samuel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During Jesus s apostolic life, Mary remained uninvolved as to not interfere with his work. She was mainly regarded as a typical Jewish wife at the time (Maas). As Catholics, we believe Mary was born free of the original sin called the Immaculate Conception. At the end of Mary s life, she was brought to Heaven with body and soul in the Assumption (Maas). According to our textbook, Social Problems: Reading with Four Questions, there are three criteria that a problem must meet in order to be a social problem. First of all, the problem must be social in origin and caused by social factors. The more its causes are social, the more it becomes a social problem. Next, the problem must be harmful to many individuals. Finally, in order to be considered a social problem, it should harm society in a sense that it threatens what we believe society should be. • 40. Book Report on Apology Essay Book Report on Apology In the Apology , Socrates tackles his accusers against certain accusations made against him in the Court of Law of Athens, Greece. The nature of the accusation that has caused him to stand trial is such that Socrates is an evil doer, and a curious person, who searches into things under the earth and in heaven, and he makes the worse appear the better cause; and he teaches the aforesaid doctrines to others (Plato. The Republic and other plays. pg 449. Doubleday publishing; New York 1989). Socrates begins with first identifying the type of accusers he has, which consist of those who are in direct contention with him, the primary accusers, since they are the ones who contrived the accusations. Then there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... pg 454). He then explains that if he was corrupting others, he too would have been corrupted long ago and there would be no good left. Also he rebuttals the charge of not believing in Gods while believing in higher divinities. The charge, he shows how ludicrous was indeed in nature since how can anyone believe in flute playing and not the flute player (Plato, pg 457). How can one believe in spiritual and divine agencies, and not in spirits or demigods? But ultimately Socrates defense is his self lessness. He attributes his deeds to his duty towards God. He makes it clear that the obligation to truth is far more closer to God than any other social one that is marked by malice. His poverty, his unchanging and impartial ways that he followed all his life to search for the truth and when having found it, give it to others without taking into consideration what the government in power would say or do about it in itself is an evidence and a virtue that rises above all others to prove him innocent. His defense is simple and artless because it is the truth, within which some more properties emerge. One of these can be identified as the simplicity of truth and the other is its universality. Truly, although several impugn Socrates of wrong doing and misguiding the youth, he was not the first or the last one tried on such a charge. This points to the nature of truth to be unchanging. • 41. The Pros And Cons Of World Population Control Have you ever wondered what the answer to world problems is? World population control is one option, but it is not a good one. Some say that it would help improve life, and would help bring balance to the world. However, I believe that population control would not truly help anyone. World population control is not the answer to world problems, for it would take away humanlife, the right to have kids, and in the long run would not help any living thing. The idea of population control started out many years ago. The person who first started Planned Parenthood wanted to control the population of African Americans because she wanted less of them around (National Public Radio). She tried to persuade more African Americans to come to Planned Parenthood than people of other races. In addition, there was forced population control during the Holocaust, a time in World War II, when Nazi Germany tried to exterminate all Jews and others the Germans did not like (National Public Radio). This was because Adolf Hitler discriminated against anyone not white or German. In the late 20th century, the Chinese decided to make a rule to where each family could only have one child (an ... The next day, the mother gave birth to an alive baby. The doctors had meant to kill Rowan, but nevertheless, he was born alive. Rather, it waits somewhere deep, and part of what it requires of us is to bring something of ourselves to the encounter. If we want to figure out what a symbol might mean, we have to use a variety of tools on it: questions, experience, preexisting knowledge(Foster 106 107). This passage is referring to dive deep into thought about what a symbol really stands for. In this case a cave, the cave is more than just an underground chamber inside the Earth. The Price family moved from small town Bethlehem, GA to the Congo of Africa. Considering they came from a wealthy, normal American town, the Congo would be a very different place to get accustomed to. Father Price thinks the Congo will be a place where he can easily plant crops from back in the US and integrate the idea of farming within the Congo. My Father had been going to the garden alone, every day, to sit and think. It disturbed him that the plants thrived and filled the fenced patch with bloom like a funeral parlor, but would not set fruit...The flowers would open and close, then the green fruits behind them would shrivel and turn brown. There wasn t a single exception. In exchange for our honest sweat, we d so far earned flowers and leaves, but nothing we could actually have for supper (Kingsolver 77 78). Father Price believed that he could do good in the Congo and plant a garden to show the Congolese how to farm and grow crops. This was a mistake because the Congo is so geographically different from Georgia. Also, as Foster puts it you cannot put someone into a complex setting who is normal , and Father Price does fall into that category of normality. The flowers don t bear fruit as a result of the geographical differences, but also may not bear fruit as a result of Father Prices arrogance towards the people of the Congo.
