Of course, those Korean immigrants were only fighting for their own economic survival in America,
too. Yet the assertion was understandable: during the 1970s and 1980s, deindustrialization, which

The English language is universal. It has very set rules, forms and functions. The Chicano language at
best represents a personal story, a private communication that is not understandable or even acceptable
by non chicanos. By contrast, Richard Rodriquez, in his article entitled Aria , strongly believes in
surrendering to learning the proper English language, despite how strongly he feels his native tongue
is a private language that once functioned to unite his family. Rodriguez creates a division of a public
and a private discourse. He feels that he has a ‘right to learn the public language of los gringos . He
creates a visual clash of two worlds: a public world as represented by school and the need to learn
English; and a private world as represented by his family and the use of Spanish within the home. He
feels that in order to adapt and create assimilation that he needs to abandon the comfort of using
Spanish to communicate and force himself to learn English – even if it meant alienating his family
members. He does not believe as Anzaluda does that you have to create your own language if you

One wants to see the cat and mouse game between Bass and Dempewolf. Lauralee is a clever,
seductive, and cunning woman. She s smarter than Dempewolf and, as stated, in the second act she
overshadows him. The dialogue is consistent with the culture, and moreover, the voices are consistent
for each character. However, the script relies on too much dialogue which slows the pace. The tension
is best in the first act, especially in the opening scene when Bass saves the mother and daughter. Then
when they try to trap Lauralee, the tension is felt. Certainly, when Bass is captured, there s compelling
tension. However, the tension can be stronger if there s more of a ticking clock, more action, and less
scenes that rely on dialogue. There are small formatting errors. Only CAP the name when a character
is first introduced. Clarify if Emiliano is also Miliano. One wonders if Bass should meet Miliano in
the first act for the pay off in the climax. Remember to show and not explain or tell. In summary, there
s no doubt that a story about Bass Reeves should be told. CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

effect of decreasing the chance of heart disease. This experiment will indicate which type of margarine
is healthiest according to the amount of unsaturated fat and the amount of water in each brand, and
also determine which . In the four margarine samples each should have slightly different amounts of
water and unsaturated fat in them. Which margarine will have the most unsaturated fat? Which one
will have the most water? By the opposite polarity of water and fat, the two will easily separate in a

signals into numerical representations on magnetic tape, this then provides a digital version of the
photo to be used in computer processing. The photo is divided into fragments where its generated by
numbers. The photo is given a density that s shown by different shades of dots that creates the
computer generated photograph. In close range, you can see each separate shaded dot which makes up
the photo. At 20 30 feet, away from the overall computer generated photograph you are able to
conduct the figure that once was an original photograph.
The modernist work I chose was A draughtsman drawing a portrait by Albrecht Durer. Albrecht Durer
was one of the many modernist yet abstract. I chose this Modernist work because Durer is abstract and
he uses perception is a great deal of his art works. Albrecht Durer s artworks were very diverse and
vibrant, they also included modern ways of creativity and originality. Durer was a huge example of
originality which made his drawing A draughtsman drawing a portrait so spectacular because it had
never been seen before. This drawing represented a way to draw people exactly as they are seen in real
life, as three dimensional. The artist as shown in the drawing using Durer s drawing machine, would
draw specific lines that were accurate
