The Use of Fiber Optics in Communications Essay
The Use of Fiber Optics in Communications The field of communications is one in which the
technologies are changing on an almost daily basis. Numerous different technologies have been
pursued over the past few years; each designed to essentially accomplish several basic purposes in
terms of community service. Three of the most actively pursued application include interactive
distance learning, video conferencing, and entertainment. While it is the first two, video conferencing
and interactive distance learning, which would serve to the best advantage in terms of education and
business; it is the last, entertainment which has the most appeal to the largest number of people. The

Light enters one end of the fiber from a light bulb, laser, or some other source, and travels essentially
unimpeded all the way to the length of the fiber where it is intercepted by a photosensitive detector
such as an electronic device or even the human eye. The distance of travel varies according to the use
to anywhere from just a few inches to over one hundred and fifty miles. Fiber optic cable can transmit
large amounts of information over one hundred and fifty miles almost instantaneously. While it takes
five hours to transmit the contents of an encyclopedia over copper wires, the entire work can be
transmitted in less than a minute over fiber optics (Yawn PG). Single Mode/Multi Mode Fibers
referred to as single mode are most often used for the longer distance transmissions. Multi mode fibers
are used in applications requiring less distance. They are less expensive than single mode fibers and
accept light from a larger variety of sources and from different angles. Single mode fibers are smaller
in diameter than are multi mode and are particular both about the type of light they will accept and the
angle at which it can be introduced. They typically accept light only when it is directly input to the
axis of the fiber. This ability requires special light sources such as lasers and

How Spirit Airlines With American Airlines Essay
WHY I CHOSE THIS COMPANY
Founded in 1964, Spirit Airlines actually began operations in the trucking industry under the name
Clippert Trucking Company, based in Michigan. In subsequent years the firm encountered many
changes in name, headquarters, as well as shifted into different industries entirely. In 1983, the
company branched out into the charter tour operating sector, as Charter One. Particularly, they
provided tours to entertainment destinations such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the islands to the
southeast of Florida known as The Bahamas.
Almost three decades late in 1992, the company officially changed its name to the ultra low cost
passenger carrier company we all know today as Spirit Airlines, which is based in Fort Lauderdale
Hollywood International Airport, under CEO Ben Baldanza. These series of changes in industry, in
combination with the fact that I am an avid Spirit flyer, definitely sparked my interest in further
investigating the financial stance of the company.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to compare Spirit Airlines with American Airlines using the financial
ratios of liquidity, activity, debt, profitability and the market, and to derive some concrete conclusions
about the financial nature of Spirit Airlines. According to Spirit Airlines (2015) Historic Stock
Lookup, from 2011 to 2014, the year end stock prices have increased by 79.4%, which is outstanding.
Thus, Spirit Airlines will be used as a benchmark in terms of comparing

Multi-Tiered System Of Support (MTSS)
School districts are facing increasing pressure to adopt universal screening, progress monitoring, and
data based assessments (Civic Impulse, 2016; Every Student Succeeds Acts, 2015; Individuals with
Disabilities Education Improvement Act, 2004;). States are complying with these mandates by use of a
Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. MTSS uses data based decision making to
inform instruction and interventions that target academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills from
early childhood to secondary education (Jimerson, Burn s Van Der Heyden, 2016). An important
component of MTSS is delivering interventions and instructions based on student s needs. After
school programs are increasingly being researched as targeted academic, ... Show more content on

Eliminating Tuition Essay
In today society, in order to be successful people is told that they must go to post secondary and get a
degree. With the average tuition cost for a four year undergraduate is $5,959 (statistics Canada,2014),
for the 2014 to 2015 school year, most people cannot afford to pay that tuition out of pocket. The
Canadian and Province governments offer student loans for students but that puts them heavily into
debt. The average student debt is between $24,000 and $27,000 (Sagan, 2014, 5). The best way to help
students get a good education, so that they can go far in life is to eliminate tuition costs at post
secondary intuitions. Eliminating tuition cost would be very beneficial to students, but there are many
different ways of eliminating tuition, in Ontario they are using the grant system, France and Germany
also used a different way of eliminating tuition. Eliminating tuition though the grant system greatly ...

By using the grant system there is less impact on tax payers. If we were to use a system like Germany
were the government funded the universities that would put a huge burden on tax payers. The money
would have to come from tax payers or the money would have to come from somewhere else in our
budget. This would mean that some other department would suffer like healthcare or another
government agency. The government already has money set aside in the yearly budget for student
loans if we used the grant system the money is already there. It does not cost Canada any extra money.
Because of trying to implement capped tuition fees, some students might not have to take a grant or
they might not have to take a full grant. If not all students had to take a grant or they did not need a
full grant this would mean that there would be more grant money for other students. I think this is the
best system for eliminating tuition

`` Sex Without Love `` By Tina Turner
Not to my surprise, the Iconic singer Tina Turner s 1984, number one hit song, What s Love got to do
with it, became her signature song most recognized among her fans. Questioning a relationship s
worth and meaning is an endless universal topic with many diverse opinions and beliefs of what s
morally right or wrong. Similarly, Sharon Olds 1985 poem Sex without Love reflects a speaker s
disapproval and disappointment articulated with an ironic tone. At first glance, the speaker seems to be
baffled on how an action can occur without the presence of the other, but as one reads on its obvious
the irony is evident. The use of metaphors climaxes the beauty of Sex that includes love while
associating the loveless sex with harsh realism magnitudes. The setting of the poem coincides
timelessly in any era due to its direct point of related interest and act of nature. Sharon Olds poem Sex
without Love, delivery of imagery and tone heightens the speakers overall positive and negative
outlook on the correlation of sex and love. The relationship of Sex and Love is inspired and build
upon a person s belief, and opinions of what s morally right or wrong which in turn determine their
projection. In Sharon Olds poem Sex without Love the poem starts out ironically with a question
referencing a highly questionable association of Sex and Love, How do they do it, the ones who make
love without love? (Olds). Proceeding with the metaphoric instances that appeal to one s vision of

Two people dead and 37 people were injured last night in a fire in a nightclub in Florida. The fire was
caused by sparks from a ceiling fan, the Volusia Country Fire Department said. The fire happened
around midnight, and roughly 200 people were inside the Soundwave nightclub, which opened in

How Did Hitler Lose Power In Germany
On January 30, 1933 Hitler became the chancellor of Germany and with his newly acquired powers,
Hitler quickly and effectively altered the political system and social lives of German citizens. During
the years of Hitler s regime, many crucial changes affected the lives of Germany s diverse citizens for
the good and the bad. Despite his radical and sometimes brutal proclamations, Hitler s action was
severely limited at first but through popular appeal and through democratic process, Hitler
successfully turned democratic Germany into a dictatorship
A major misconception is that Hitler stole power from the Weimar Republic and became a total
dictator. However, that is further from the truth. In fact, Hitler became chancellor through legal means.

the passing of Hindenburg on August 1934 one of Hitler s obstacle is quickly washed away. In
addition, under the German constitution, the president was the supreme commander of the German
armed forces. Hitler now assumed that position which required member of the military to swear and
oath of allegiance to him. With Hindenburg passing and Hitler s command of the military, to many
people, the Nazi party seems unstoppable. The second obstacle, was the removal of Ernst Rohm.
Rohm was head of 2.5 million Stormtrooper. A veteran of World War One, Rohm and his
Stormtroopers had played a powerful role in destabilizing the Weimar Republic and consolidating
Hitler s new regime. With a men of 2.5 million, Rohm essentially commanded an army and would be a
fearsome opponent if he were to staged a rebellion. However, Rohm and his stormtroopers were
crucial in bringing down the Weimar republic and stabilizing the Nazi party. In spite of the critical role
Rohm played, Hitler started to gravitate toward the SS or Schutzstaffel, Nazism s elite guard headed
by Himmler, had grown more powerful and wanted the upper hand over its rival organization, the
stormtroopers ... On the night of June 30, 1934, on Hitler s order the SS struck. This event dubbed the
Night of Long Knives saw not only the death of Ernst Rohm, but also many people Himmler and
Hitler found problematic. With the man, head of millions of soldiers, dead and hundreds more

This has seen EMAS move from transporting patients to the healthcare provider, into a service that
takes healthcare to the patient within the community (EMAS 2011).
Reconfiguration within the service is a further external factor. EMAS has been influenced by the
merger in 1999 and 2006 of six previous ambulance services into the East Midlands. Over recent
years, we have seen a shift from traditional command and control cultures of the former organisations,
to localised, empowered management teams working within the heart of their communities.
Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust is an external factor that is already having a major impact. An
NHS Foundation Trust is a new form of NHS organisation with greater freedom from Government
control so that it can better meet the needs of local communities. We are currently developing our
application. NHS Foundation Trust status will provide the freedom to invest surplus funds. We will be
able to plan for a longer period, 5 years plus so we can be more confident in how we will develop.

Symbolism In Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar
The postwar 1950s launched the modernist period in English Literature, which suggested a more
pessimistic perception of society through societal nonconformity, decay, and alienation. Sylvia Plath s
The Bell Jar, a parallel to her life, expresses Esther Greenwood s character in pursuit of morality in the
reality she faces in the modern society. Esther discovers that the society is not as pure as it seems and
has underlying truths behind its deceptive appearance. To emphasize her realization, she mentions the
color white two hundred fourteen times in the novel. Although the color white often symbolizes purity,
goodness, and innocence, Esther gives white a negative connotation in the novel. Esther depicts the
reality of the society as fabricated through the recurring motif of the color white, which symbolizes
hopelessness and a stigma in the optimistic society.
Esther s classification of the color white as a stain in the purity of the society is visible through her
dissolved hope in Buddy Willard. She completely trusts Buddy Willard and imagines a prospective
marriage with him when she perceives him as an honest and truthful individual. Esther s stay in New
York alters her assessment of society since she is unable to see through reality, having been raised in a
restricted environment. Her perspective changes when she realizes the truth behind his facade of being
pure. Esther describes Buddy Willard by the color white: And he looked so proud of having thought of
this that I

deer hunting is safe for everyone and done legally, we need to look at what s happening right now to

Deer hunting might be known as a sport, but what people don t know is that deer hunting is really

Women Of The First World War I
A major part in the First World War was taking care of people and helping people. A woman who was
a nurse during the First World War, Edith Cavell, took a stand in history by using her skills for the
better and helped allied service men escape from Belgium, which was occupied by Germany. Because
of this act, she was executed for treason by being shot by a firing squad, and her death made her
internationally known. She became an iconic symbol for the allied cause and was most remembered
for her courage in facing execution with calmness and composure. She is a well known figure in
history.

Summary Of A Reflection On The Revolution In France
After watching The Square and reading the Reflection on the Revolution in France, I find it s plausible
to say that Edmund Burke will disagree with the Egyptian revolution for three reasons.
First of all, regarding the purpose of revolution, Edmund Burke holds a different view with the
Egyptian revolutionaries. In the Reflection on the Revolution in France, Burke points out The
revolution was made to preserve our ancient indisputable laws and liberties, and that ancient
constitution of government which is our only security for law and liberty... the very idea of the
fabrication of a new government is enough to fill us with disgust and horror (Burke, 117). Edmund
Burke believes that the goal of revolution is to secure the inherited rights and forefathers legacies. He
suggests that instead of demolishing the castle, which means to depose the former government, it is
better to repair it, which means to reform and improve its imperfect parts, laws for example (Burke,
121). Thus, in his prospective, the idea of overthrowing the regime is extremely undesirable and
ineffective, comparing to the idea of reforming the old system and making compromises with different
political forces (Burke, 122). However, according to The Square, for Egyptian revolutionaries, the
ultimate purpose of the revolution is to completely abandon the old regime, to remove the whole
political system, together with its laws, its ruler, its government, institutions and militaries, and to
rebuild it by

Advantage And Weaknesses Of Absolute Advantage
1. Absolute advantage is the theory that a nation specializes in something that it is most efficient at
producing. Absolute advantage is based on productivity. Nation that can produce a good and require
the least quantity of input is considered to have an absolute advantage. On the other, comparative
advantage is based on opportunity cost. Even though that nation may not have the absolute advantage,
it still can produce the good if it has the lowest opportunity cost as compared to another nation.
Absolute advantage came before comparative advantage. The comparative advantage theory came as a
response to the weaknesses of absolute advantage theory, one of which was the fact that it does not
give guidance for nations that do not have absolute advantage. Comparative advantage brings in the
idea that nations with no absolute advantage can still specialize if those nations are capable of
producing the product at a lower opportunity cost. For example, Nation 1 has absolute advantage over
both Good 1 and Good 2, but if Nation 2 has a comparative advantage (can produce at lower
opportunity cost) over Good 2 (but not Good 1), then Nation 1 can specialize in Good 1 and Nation 2
can specialize in Good 2.
2. Comparative advantage. If being selfish, perhaps a nation would choose to have absolute advantage.
Seeking absolute advantage is like obtaining a monopoly of a certain industry. Many of us are aware
that governments like the US are continually eliminating monopolies because they are taking over
smaller businesses in the same industry. Absolute advantage is based on the idea of WINNER LOSER.
When a nation tries to have an absolute advantage in something, it means that the other nations lose
the chance in that something. In contrast, comparative advantage is based on a WIN WIN concept.
Any nation can engage in that particular production of goods even if it does not have an absolute
advantage. Comparative is better than absolute advantage in that it encourages more nations to engage
in international trade.

Compare And Contrast Vampires And Zombies
Vampires V. Zombies
When people combine their fears and imaginations, they end up with some fascinating, yet horrifying,
creatures. Killers of the night, such as vampires, or the extinction of the human race, usually due to a
zombie outbreak. Vampires and zombies are both fictional beings who have made their way into
society through years of storytelling, novels, and media. However, what sets them apart from each
other? While they are both products of our eerie imagination, which one s existence is more
believable?
What are vampires and zombies? Vampires suck the human blood at the time of night. But their brains
are pretty much functional. On the other hand, zombies are brain dead and they feed on human flesh at
any time of the day (ReComparison.com). Vampires are intelligent and cunning, using their wisdom to
attract prey. A common behavior of vampires is seduction; this is because vampires are usually
attractive. It helps with getting an easy meal; they don t have to deal with too much of a fight, unlike
zombies. Zombies don t have much wit and must chase after their prey. With their brainless behaviors,
zombies don t have individual personalities. They are all similar and act on the same instinct.

Vampires and zombies are both fictional. However, one does have more of a possibility of being real.
The origin story of vampires is that they were the dead rising from hell to wreak havoc; this makes it
hard to believe they could exist, considering not everyone believes in an underworld. On the other
hand, bacteria are all around us and spread viruses all over the world. This is the origin of the modern
day zombie, they are no longer the dead becoming the living, instead, it s a highly contagious virus
that spreads throughout the world. There is even a type of fungus that has been known to zombify
ants. Making the chance of a zombie invasion even more

Chimpanzees In Through A Window By Jane Goodall
In the book Through a Window by Jane Goodall, Goodall tells the reader about her experience when
studying chimpanzees in Gombe for thirty years. Goodall explains how chimpanzees and humans are
very much alike, not only in DNA structure but also in social behavior, intelligent ability, and
emotions. Goodall talks about these similarities throughout the book. Chimpanzees can use tools, have
social organization, have a way to communicate, a similar diet, and locomotion all of which show how
humans and chimpanzees are more closely related then what was originally thought.
Anatomy of the chimpanzee brain is quite similar to that of a human. Since the brain of both are so
much alike it makes sense that chimpanzees can do activities that were once ... Show more content on

Goodall believed that chimpanzees and humans were more closely related then what was believed.
She used the scientific method to complete this experiment. The scientific method has five steps:
observation, induction, deduction, testing, and results. Goodall went to Gombe to observe the
chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Throughout the thirty years Goodall was able to recruit more
volunteers to come and help observe the chimpanzees. By there would be anywhere from 10 to 30
volunteers at a time to get as much information as possible. Goodall induction was that chimpanzees
and humans were similar in multiple ways. This hypothesis was based off of what she had seen in her
early years of observation. Deduction is an if/then statement made from assuming if the hypothesis
was true then this must be true. I could not figure out what Goodall s deduction for her experiment
was. I could imagine that her deduction was something along the lines of: if chimpanzees are similar
to humans in DNA and anatomy then chimpanzees must be similar in emotional and social behavior.
The next step would be testing this if/then statement. Goodall tested her hypothesis by watching the
chimpanzees in their natural environment. Goodall studied how the chimpanzees acted toward each
other, the emotions of the chimpanzees, and how the chimpanzees responded to different events such

Romanticism in the Film Version of The Big Sleep
In Raymond Chandler s novel The Big Sleep, he presents two sisters, Vivian and Carmen. These
women become the central characters, aside from Philip Marlowe, and they control much of the action
in the novel. The 1946 film version of The Big Sleep, however, manipulates Chandler s characters
considerably. Aside from playing with the dialogue of the novel, the screen writers change the very
essences of Vivian and Carmen. Perhaps it is the casting of the film which forces changes from the
novel, or perhaps the Production Code keeps the writers from developing the women in the way that
Chandler does; either way, the film version of The Big Sleep makes the story romantic and ... Show

(Chandler 19)
In the novel, Marlowe doesn t care for Vivian anymore than she does for him. A fact that is hammered
home throughout the novel in the dialogue between these two characters.
In the movie, however, there is a distinct attraction between the characters, purposely created to
capitalize on the real life affair between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Director Howard
Hawks was charged with creating a movie vehicle for these stars as a result of their incredible
chemistry from the earlier movie To Have and Have Not. Bogart and Bacall were phenomenally well
matched on screen and off, and Hawks decided that The Big Sleep was the best film to display their
chemistry. In order to do so, the script needed to be revised from the novel. The novel calls for
Marlowe and Vivian to go their separate ways, with Marlowe discretely threatening to reveal Vivian s
secrets and Vivian shattered and responsible for Carmen s deranged life. Hawks asked William
Faulkner to create a screenplay that would maximize the drama while maintaining an air of romance
between Bogart and Bacall. The script that resulted concluded with Marlowe and Vivian together,
presumably heading off into the sunset towards an implied marriage; the traditional happy ending.
The character of Vivian that comes out of Faulkner s script is softer and more dynamic than Chandler
s Vivian. Faulkner s sings in a gambling

Swot Analysis Of United Airlines
Introduction
The airline industry has been a major factor in the globalization of the world economy. It connects the
sellers and the buyers as well as transports goods across countries. It also breaks the time and distance
barriers. In the past, air travel was considered a luxury but it is now a common necessity.
The Battle Of The Air has been used to describe current situation in the airline industry. The
emergence of No Frills discount carriers such as Air Asia, Mahlindo, Firefly have threatened the
survival of the traditional giants such as MAS, SIA, Thai Airways in the APAC regions and even the
Big Boys across the continents such as United, Delta, Continental, Luftansa, Emirates and US Airway

Weaknesses
( i ) High Dependency On Third Party Providers
United depends strongly on third party providers to ensure smooth operations. Many integral functions
comprising of the maintenance, repair, fuelling of the aircraft as well as call centres are outsourced.
This increases the company s expenses and decreases the revenue.
The company s reputation will be at stake if these third party providers fail to perform or to live up to
expectations.
( ii ) Strong Unions
A strong majority of the United s employees are part of professional unions as per the following :
Flight attendants : AFA
Pilots : ALPA
Engineers : IFPTE
Dispatchers : PAFCA
More than 5,000 flights were cancelled as a result of pilots going on strike ( Washington Post, 2000 ).
United s schedule was on standstill for 29 days when their pilots went on strike in 1985 resulting in
severe losses and a downward plunge in customer confidence ( www.alpa.org, 1985

Safe Spaces Should Be A Safe Space
Safe spaces should be included and supported on campuses but the university in its entirety must not
become a safe space.
I believe that safe spaces should be allowed on campuses because, safe spaces allow students to feel
comfortable and speak without being judged while also assisting students in need and helping to form
strong relationships. However, I don t think the entire university must become a safe space because I
still believe that safe spaces can prevent conversations on controversy.
To start off, Timothy Garton Ash says in his article that a student explains safe spaces as areas on
campus where students especially but not limited to those who have endured trauma or feel
marginalised can feel comfortable talking about their experiences , and gives the example of a Hillel
House for Jewish students. (Timothy Garton Ash). This comment helps prove that safe spaces can help
students feel comfortable and shows how beneficial safe spaces can be for those who have been
oppressed or been the target of prejudice and much more. Secondly, Lilian Obeng, a second year Arts
and Science student a second year speaking on behalf of the group (The McMasters Womanists),
explained, closed spaces connect those who face the same struggles and allow oppressed people to
share their experiences (Emile Shen). This comment shows how safe spaces can provide a safe
environment for students on campus to share personal experiences that they might not be comfortable
sharing with anyone

Furman V. Georgia Case
The Furman v. Georgia case has set a precedent on how the courts deal with the disputable issue that is
capital punishment because it was the first time the Supreme Court addressed the problem. Both
racism and the morality of the death penalty have been relatively controversial issues in the United
States for several years. The Furman v. Georgia case conjoined both matters. The case declared that if
capital punishment were to be used, it was going to be used for all the right reasons, not due to any
prejudices or discrimination by reason of the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. Additionally, the
case placed a moratorium on the death penalty because it was argued that the application of Furman s
sentencing would be an example of cruel and unusual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The courts stated juries were allotted too much power in sentencing, hence prompting the racial bias
that dismounted in not only the Furman v Georgia case, but a multitudinous amount of cases in the
south. In a 5 4 decision, it was concluded that the implementation of Furman s sentencing was cruel
and unusual. Two justices concluded the death penalty was unconstitutional, while three stated that the
method in which the sentencing was being utilized, made it unconstitutional. Justice Douglas also
observed that not only were death penalties given to the poor, uneducated, and sick minorities, but that
they had been taking place due to miscommunication and lack of guidance and understanding of the
law, which furthermore concluded in the use of preconceived notions and prejudices that guided the

The response from Karen Frank regarding medical information that she shared was that when printing

have a process to edit medical information when printing. Monica Hamden shared a similar response

factor in what was shared, instead of HIPAA guidelines. Early on DL cautioned that it was important
to keep my appointments separate. Limit what is discussed during the comp appointment to only what

The Cuban Missile Crisis was October 16th through the 28th in the year of 1962, and it was one of the
scariest situations that could have ended in a nuclear war. Earlier that month John F. Kennedy send a
plane to spy on them and see if they were doing anything they were not supposed to and he saw that
Cuba had nuclear missiles set out and they could fire them at any given moment if they wanted to.
John F. Kennedy saw this and the next day he immediately went to talk to the leader of the Soviet
Union. The leader of the Soviet Union was named Nikita Khrushchev and it was very hard for John F.
Kennedy to make a deal with him so that he would put his nuclear missiles away. The deal was that if
John F. Kennedy would remove his nuclear missiles from Turkey and Italy then The Soviet Union
would have to remove their nuclear missiles from Cuba. John F. Kennedy also had to make an
agreement that he would never invade Cuba again without direct provocation. This agreement also set

Numerous different technologies have been pursued over the past few years; each designed to essentially accomplish several basic purposes in terms of community service. Three of the most actively pursued application include interactive distance learning, video conferencing, and entertainment. The application of various communications applications in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Light enters one end of the fiber from a light bulb, laser, or some other source, and travels essentially unimpeded all the way to the length of the fiber where it is intercepted by a photosensitive detector such as an electronic device or even the human eye. The distance of travel varies according to the use to anywhere from just a few inches to over one hundred and fifty miles. Fiber optic cable can transmit large amounts of information over one hundred and fifty miles almost instantaneously. While it takes five hours to transmit the contents of an encyclopedia over copper wires, the entire work can be transmitted in less than a minute over fiber optics (Yawn PG). Single Mode/Multi Mode Fibers referred to as single mode are most often used for the longer distance transmissions. Multi mode fibers are used in applications requiring less distance. They are less expensive than single mode fibers and accept light from a larger variety of sources and from different angles. Single mode fibers are smaller in diameter than are multi mode and are particular both about the type of light they will accept and the angle at which it can be introduced. They typically accept light only when it is directly input to the axis of the fiber. This ability requires special light sources such as lasers and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Spirit Airlines With American Airlines Essay WHY I CHOSE THIS COMPANY Founded in 1964, Spirit Airlines actually began operations in the trucking industry under the name Clippert Trucking Company, based in Michigan. In subsequent years the firm encountered many changes in name, headquarters, as well as shifted into different industries entirely. In 1983, the company branched out into the charter tour operating sector, as Charter One. Particularly, they provided tours to entertainment destinations such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the islands to the southeast of Florida known as The Bahamas. Almost three decades late in 1992, the company officially changed its name to the ultra low cost passenger carrier company we all know today as Spirit Airlines, which is based in Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, under CEO Ben Baldanza. These series of changes in industry, in combination with the fact that I am an avid Spirit flyer, definitely sparked my interest in further investigating the financial stance of the company. PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to compare Spirit Airlines with American Airlines using the financial ratios of liquidity, activity, debt, profitability and the market, and to derive some concrete conclusions about the financial nature of Spirit Airlines. According to Spirit Airlines (2015) Historic Stock Lookup, from 2011 to 2014, the year end stock prices have increased by 79.4%, which is outstanding. Thus, Spirit Airlines will be used as a benchmark in terms of comparing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Multi-Tiered System Of Support (MTSS) School districts are facing increasing pressure to adopt universal screening, progress monitoring, and data based assessments (Civic Impulse, 2016; Every Student Succeeds Acts, 2015; Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, 2004;). States are complying with these mandates by use of a Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. MTSS uses data based decision making to inform instruction and interventions that target academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills from early childhood to secondary education (Jimerson, Burn s Van Der Heyden, 2016). • 5. Eliminating Tuition Essay In today society, in order to be successful people is told that they must go to post secondary and get a degree. With the average tuition cost for a four year undergraduate is $5,959 (statistics Canada,2014), for the 2014 to 2015 school year, most people cannot afford to pay that tuition out of pocket. The Canadian and Province governments offer student loans for students but that puts them heavily into debt. The average student debt is between $24,000 and $27,000 (Sagan, 2014, 5). The best way to help students get a good education, so that they can go far in life is to eliminate tuition costs at post secondary intuitions. Eliminating tuition cost would be very beneficial to students, but there are many different ways of eliminating tuition, in Ontario they are using the grant system, France and Germany also used a different way of eliminating tuition. Eliminating tuition though the grant system greatly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using the grant system there is less impact on tax payers. If we were to use a system like Germany were the government funded the universities that would put a huge burden on tax payers. The money would have to come from tax payers or the money would have to come from somewhere else in our budget. This would mean that some other department would suffer like healthcare or another government agency. The government already has money set aside in the yearly budget for student loans if we used the grant system the money is already there. It does not cost Canada any extra money. Because of trying to implement capped tuition fees, some students might not have to take a grant or they might not have to take a full grant. If not all students had to take a grant or they did not need a full grant this would mean that there would be more grant money for other students. I think this is the best system for eliminating tuition ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. `` Sex Without Love `` By Tina Turner Not to my surprise, the Iconic singer Tina Turner s 1984, number one hit song, What s Love got to do with it, became her signature song most recognized among her fans. Questioning a relationship s worth and meaning is an endless universal topic with many diverse opinions and beliefs of what s morally right or wrong. Similarly, Sharon Olds 1985 poem Sex without Love reflects a speaker s disapproval and disappointment articulated with an ironic tone. At first glance, the speaker seems to be baffled on how an action can occur without the presence of the other, but as one reads on its obvious the irony is evident. The use of metaphors climaxes the beauty of Sex that includes love while associating the loveless sex with harsh realism magnitudes. The setting of the poem coincides timelessly in any era due to its direct point of related interest and act of nature. Sharon Olds poem Sex without Love, delivery of imagery and tone heightens the speakers overall positive and negative outlook on the correlation of sex and love. The relationship of Sex and Love is inspired and build upon a person s belief, and opinions of what s morally right or wrong which in turn determine their projection. In Sharon Olds poem Sex without Love the poem starts out ironically with a question referencing a highly questionable association of Sex and Love, How do they do it, the ones who make love without love? (Olds). Proceeding with the metaphoric instances that appeal to one s vision of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the years of Hitler s regime, many crucial changes affected the lives of Germany s diverse citizens for the good and the bad. Despite his radical and sometimes brutal proclamations, Hitler s action was severely limited at first but through popular appeal and through democratic process, Hitler successfully turned democratic Germany into a dictatorship A major misconception is that Hitler stole power from the Weimar Republic and became a total dictator. Over recent years, we have seen a shift from traditional command and control cultures of the former organisations, to localised, empowered management teams working within the heart of their communities. Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust is an external factor that is already having a major impact. An NHS Foundation Trust is a new form of NHS organisation with greater freedom from Government control so that it can better meet the needs of local communities. Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar, a parallel to her life, expresses Esther Greenwood s character in pursuit of morality in the reality she faces in the modern society. Esther discovers that the society is not as pure as it seems and has underlying truths behind its deceptive appearance. To emphasize her realization, she mentions the color white two hundred fourteen times in the novel. Although the color white often symbolizes purity, goodness, and innocence, Esther gives white a negative connotation in the novel. Esther depicts the reality of the society as fabricated through the recurring motif of the color white, which symbolizes hopelessness and a stigma in the optimistic society. Esther s classification of the color white as a stain in the purity of the society is visible through her dissolved hope in Buddy Willard. She completely trusts Buddy Willard and imagines a prospective marriage with him when she perceives him as an honest and truthful individual. Esther s stay in New York alters her assessment of society since she is unable to see through reality, having been raised in a restricted environment. Her perspective changes when she realizes the truth behind his facade of being pure. Esther describes Buddy Willard by the color white: And he looked so proud of having thought of this that I ... • 18. Summary Of A Reflection On The Revolution In France After watching The Square and reading the Reflection on the Revolution in France, I find it s plausible to say that Edmund Burke will disagree with the Egyptian revolution for three reasons. First of all, regarding the purpose of revolution, Edmund Burke holds a different view with the Egyptian revolutionaries. In the Reflection on the Revolution in France, Burke points out The revolution was made to preserve our ancient indisputable laws and liberties, and that ancient constitution of government which is our only security for law and liberty... the very idea of the fabrication of a new government is enough to fill us with disgust and horror (Burke, 117). Edmund Burke believes that the goal of revolution is to secure the inherited rights and forefathers legacies. He suggests that instead of demolishing the castle, which means to depose the former government, it is better to repair it, which means to reform and improve its imperfect parts, laws for example (Burke, 121). Thus, in his prospective, the idea of overthrowing the regime is extremely undesirable and ineffective, comparing to the idea of reforming the old system and making compromises with different political forces (Burke, 122). However, according to The Square, for Egyptian revolutionaries, the ultimate purpose of the revolution is to completely abandon the old regime, to remove the whole political system, together with its laws, its ruler, its government, institutions and militaries, and to rebuild it by ... • 21. Advantage And Weaknesses Of Absolute Advantage 1. Absolute advantage is the theory that a nation specializes in something that it is most efficient at producing. Absolute advantage is based on productivity. Nation that can produce a good and require the least quantity of input is considered to have an absolute advantage. On the other, comparative advantage is based on opportunity cost. Even though that nation may not have the absolute advantage, it still can produce the good if it has the lowest opportunity cost as compared to another nation. Absolute advantage came before comparative advantage. The comparative advantage theory came as a response to the weaknesses of absolute advantage theory, one of which was the fact that it does not give guidance for nations that do not have absolute advantage. Comparative advantage brings in the idea that nations with no absolute advantage can still specialize if those nations are capable of producing the product at a lower opportunity cost. For example, Nation 1 has absolute advantage over both Good 1 and Good 2, but if Nation 2 has a comparative advantage (can produce at lower opportunity cost) over Good 2 (but not Good 1), then Nation 1 can specialize in Good 1 and Nation 2 can specialize in Good 2. 2. Comparative advantage. If being selfish, perhaps a nation would choose to have absolute advantage. Seeking absolute advantage is like obtaining a monopoly of a certain industry. Many of us are aware that governments like the US are continually eliminating monopolies because they are taking over smaller businesses in the same industry. Absolute advantage is based on the idea of WINNER LOSER. When a nation tries to have an absolute advantage in something, it means that the other nations lose the chance in that something. In contrast, comparative advantage is based on a WIN WIN concept. Any nation can engage in that particular production of goods even if it does not have an absolute advantage. Comparative is better than absolute advantage in that it encourages more nations to engage in international trade. 3. National and Individual Benefits of Absolute Advantage: a. Both nations benefit by using the resources most effectively (resources are not wasted). b. Both nations only focus on what they have absolute ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the thirty years Goodall was able to recruit more volunteers to come and help observe the chimpanzees. By there would be anywhere from 10 to 30 volunteers at a time to get as much information as possible. Goodall induction was that chimpanzees and humans were similar in multiple ways. This hypothesis was based off of what she had seen in her early years of observation. Deduction is an if/then statement made from assuming if the hypothesis was true then this must be true. I could not figure out what Goodall s deduction for her experiment was. I could imagine that her deduction was something along the lines of: if chimpanzees are similar to humans in DNA and anatomy then chimpanzees must be similar in emotional and social behavior. These women become the central characters, aside from Philip Marlowe, and they control much of the action in the novel. The 1946 film version of The Big Sleep, however, manipulates Chandler s characters considerably. Aside from playing with the dialogue of the novel, the screen writers change the very essences of Vivian and Carmen. A fact that is hammered home throughout the novel in the dialogue between these two characters. In the movie, however, there is a distinct attraction between the characters, purposely created to capitalize on the real life affair between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Director Howard Hawks was charged with creating a movie vehicle for these stars as a result of their incredible chemistry from the earlier movie To Have and Have Not. Bogart and Bacall were phenomenally well matched on screen and off, and Hawks decided that The Big Sleep was the best film to display their chemistry. In order to do so, the script needed to be revised from the novel. The novel calls for Marlowe and Vivian to go their separate ways, with Marlowe discretely threatening to reveal Vivian s secrets and Vivian shattered and responsible for Carmen s deranged life. Hawks asked William Faulkner to create a screenplay that would maximize the drama while maintaining an air of romance between Bogart and Bacall.
