Importance of Voting Essay
The Importance of Voting With the Long Lines, the stressful waiting, and the constant question of
asking yourself why am I here? on going in your head makes the waiting to vote the most exciting
thing ever. But wait aside of that, think for a second. This year there were people going to vote even
when hurricane sandy hit parts of their neighborhood, destroyed their houses or flooded several ways
for them to get to their voting station, but they still voted. They re is people who went to those voting
polls and spent long hours putting whatever situation they were in aside and went to vote. They did so

We Must Regain Our Lost Civil Liberties Essay
With our nation s tragedy of September 11, 2001, arose a deeply shaken America, shocked by the
extent of the cruelty. An act of terrorism of that magnitude had never been seen before in our country.
Patriots quickly came together, supporting the president to pass legislation, known as the USA Patriot
Act, to tackle internal and external threats to this nation. The debate ensued, focused on which types of
surveillance technology should or shouldn t be allowed for arresting terrorists. However, the question
remains as to how these devices are going to be used, and how personally are those who use them held
accountable. The purpose of this paper is to confirm that the proposed monitoring and archiving of

One of the laws included in the Patriot Act is the Electronic Communications Privacy Act or ECPA.
The ECPA is used to monitor and retain information while intercepting ....email and other electronic
communications... and specifies the government s access to this type of information (The USA Patriot
Act, 2005, p.4). One difference between the ECPA and other laws included in this Act is probable
cause. The ECPA does not mandate probable cause, thus posing serious privacy violations with the use
of trap and trace devices. According to Gerdes, in the book, The Patriot Act, a trap and trace device is
described as a device which captures the incoming electronic or other impulses which identify the
originating number of an instrument or device from which a wire or electronic communication was
transmitted (Gerdes, 2005, p.119). The trap and trace information, which is tailored to electronic
communication, can only be relevant during court proceedings when an attorney provides a judicial
certification before the installation (The USA Patriot Act, 2005, p. 5). According to the ACLU, the trap
and trace devices monitor all electronic communication and to perform this type of surveillance the
government only needs to show probable cause (National Security, n.d.). The issue of our privacy
rights has definitely been influenced since 9/11, we have all been affected and at the height of all the
terror and fear, our absent civil liberties simply went unnoticed.

Analysis Of Marvell s To His Coy Mistress
During the Early Modern Period, many authors began questioning the church and looking outside of
religious beliefs to come to terms with how to live their lives. Independent thinking and introspection
are evident in many of the literary works written throughout the period. Poet Marvell weighs piety and
his worldly desires in To his Coy Mistress . Marvell recognizes the devout ways his society lives
under by the means of the Christian church; but, he writes in the style of carpe diem ( To His Coy
Mistress Note Page), in which he believes that one should live life for the now, and not worry about
the consequences that may await him in the afterlife. He tackles this idea in a poem for his lover,
encouraging her to throw away her chastity and be with him now in every way possible. In lines 27
29, Marvell urges his lover that her long preserv d Virginity will go to waste when her quaint Honour
turn to dust once she has died and rots away in a tomb. He conveys to her that she should not resist her
urges because once she is dead, what she did while living will matter no more than what she did not
do. Marvell poignantly end his poem telling his lover, Thus, though we cannot make our Sun Stand
still, yet we will make him run. (Lines 45 46). He acknowledges the fact that he cannot make time
stop or death come any later in the first line; nevertheless, he wants to live his life freely to make the
inevitable not matter as much because if he lives his life as he wants, he

Argumentative Essay On Chemtrails
Chemtrails Do you think Chemtrails are made of chemicals? Many scientists say they are just made of
water vapor and the real name is Contrails short for (condensation trails). Some say that they have
chemicals in it has it sprayed all over the clouds to get to the people. But all that is not true because I
have seen videos up close, pictures that s clear, scientist that experimenting and talking about it right
now. Chemtrails are not harmful. The U.S. wouldn t do thing like it. In theory, the scientist Phil Plait
says the clouds coming from jets they are really just a product of condensation of water vapor. In
newscientists.com, 77 scientists report that the results were surprising, 98.7% of scientists say that
there is no atmosphere programing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These videos show that the water vapor coming out of the jets are just water droplets crystalizing into
ice then goes into the clouds form as a cloud. As watch a YouTube video it shows that chemtrails are
starting as water vapor because there nothing coming out of it when you turn it on. As a theory, there
are no chemicals based on the videos. In these videos the chemtrails shows that there are no
chemicals. At last, I saw pictures that describes that there are no chemicals because the chemtrails don
t start as one. As I saw a picture up close when a jet is about to release the water vapor they are
forming in to clouds. It would probably take a lot longer for chemicals to form into a cloud. There are
so pictures that look the same it s just water vapor they don t hurt people. Also, they are all the way up
in the air they can t reach you. In conclusion, chemtrails are just water vapor forming into clouds, so
that the air would have more cover, Also, it s to control the weather from disaster, and the population
and our food supplies. These chemtrails help our community, they don t vandalism the country.
Chemtrails are a good thing. Because scientists are researching, pictures that describe it, and videos up

Differences Between The Princess Bride Book And Movie
The Princess Bride: Film Versus Novel
The novel The Princess Bride by William Goldman was published in 1973. The movie The Princess
Bride directed by Rob Reiner, released in 1987, Starred Cary Elwes as Westley and Robin Wright as
Buttercup. The Princess Bride is about the most beautiful girl in the kingdom Florin, Buttercup, who
falls in love with her farm boy, Westley. After Westley goes missing, Buttercup becomes engaged to
the prince, Humperdinck, by force. Buttercup is kidnapped by, a sicilian named vizzini, a giant Turk,
named Fezzik, and champion swordsman, named Inigo. She is reunited with Westley but is unable to
escape her engagement until she is finally saved. The Princess Bride movie, made very few changes to
the characters, plot, and theme of the novel. The plot of the movie is the same, and is in the same
order, as the book. In the movie Westley goes missing, Buttercup is kidnapped, and Westley saves her
from marrying Humperdinck. This is identical to the book, even the side plots in the movie are similar.

The theme is that life is not like it is in story books. In the book William Goldman, claims this book
was originally written by someone named S. Morgenstern, that Florin and Guilder are real, and that he
is just abridging The Princess Bride because he loved it when he was younger. In one of he
interjections he says that life isn t fair. It s just fairer than death... (Goldman, 358). This conveys the
theme that life is not like it is in fairytales. In the movie a similar line is spoken by Westley. Before
Buttercup realizes it is Westley who is saving her he says, Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says
differently is selling something. (The Princess Bride). This once again conveys the theme that life is

Big Bend Rocks
Geology of the Big Bend (Rocks)
The only types of rocks found in Big Bend National park are Sedimentary (N.P). The specific names
for these rocks are: limestones, shale and sandstones, clay, Lava Flow, Conglomerate, Marl, and
Cherty Limestone are found in this park (N.P). These rocks were likely abundant throughout the park;
when the area was covered by a salty sea during the Cretaceous period (N.P). The way how these
rocks formed is by the results of pebbles being cemented together. Another way how the rocks can
form is by how the earliest layer of rock was deposited in a relatively deep marine environment. After
the next layer above the shale indicates that the rock is deposited in a very shallow way, that s when

Homeroom Observation Study
At the end of my AP Statistics, our teacher charged us with developing and carrying out a study using
the techniques mastered throughout the course. Some groups studied the correlation between GPA and
relationships, the school s favorite ice cream flavor, and the average number of saltines a person could
eat in a minute. My group agreed a more serious topic to undertake: sleep.
If you ask any student what they love most in life, we are 99% confident that they will state sleep.
Sleep is what we cherish. We daydream about dreaming. Even though both boys and girls love sleep,
my team was curious about the sleep each gender obtains nightly. Do boys and girls receive a different
amount of average sleep per night? We hypothesized that high school girls sleep less than boys. To get
to the bottom of this essential study, our team conducted a two sample t test for the difference in true
population mean of average sleep per night between girls and boys.
To carry out the study, we could not feasibly survey every individual at the school. Instead, we utilized
cluster samples of the school by using a random number generator to choose six homerooms. To
assure the independence condition was satisfied, homerooms in which girls were sampled were
independent of those in which boys were sampled. Our samples were large enough to obtain ... Show

Walton High School are being deprived of sleep, we should conduct the same study at other schools

Illegal Off Label Promotion Is Personal Choice Of Actions

Illegal off label promotion is personal choice of actions.
Thinking about the responsibility for illegal off label promotion, question of the chain of command
pops out. Who initiates that type of campaigns and actions? Sometimes it s company s established
strategy; sometimes it s sales force s desire to reach the quota. What happens when company s ideas

Ethics in Corporate Communicatons Essay
Code of Ethics Assignment 2

The word ethics has many definitions depending on who you are speaking with and if it is business
related. One person may tell you that ethics has to do with what is right and wrong. Another may say it
has to do with that law of the land. In fact there are many interpretations and definitions for ethics. In
Corporate Communications there is a totally different set of code of ethics. The standards for
professional communicators are similar to each other and they also have their differences in relation to

Overview of the Research Process for Business Students
What is Research?
People undertake research in order to find things out in a systematic way, thereby increasing their
knowledge (Jankowicz, 1995). Systematic suggests that research is based on logical relationships and
not just beliefs (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). To find things out suggests there are a multiplicity of
possible purposes for your research (Becker, 1998). It is therefore an activity which has to be finished
at some point to be of use.
The results of research really are all around us in everyday life. Politicians often justify their policy
decisions on the basis of research; Newspapers report the findings of research companies.
Documentary programmes tell us about research findings and advertisers may highlight the ... Show

It has not been changed or altered by human beings therefore its validity is greater than secondary data
however it is important to remember it can only be considered as reliable as the people who gathered
it. Gathering data in this way is time consuming, and incurs a high cost. More resources tend to be
required and it can result in inaccurate feedback.
Secondary data is less valid but it is readily available and can be reused. It is cheaper and quicker to
obtain in comparison to primary data. In some circumstances primary data does not exist and so one
has to confine the research of secondary data.
The Research Process
Research is not neutral, but reflects a range of the researcher s personal interests, values, abilities,
assumptions aims and ambitions. The research philosophy depends on the way you think about the
development of knowledge (Saunders et al. 2000, p.84)
Collis and Hussey (2003, p.52) highlight two main research philosophies and detail that there can be
overlap between the two and both positions may be identifiable in any research project. They are the
positivistic and phenomenological. Positivistic approaches are founded on the

Crime Rate And Its Effect On The Incarceration Rate
In our study, the independent variable is whether a state elects or appoints judges. The dependent
variable is the incarceration rate (per 100,000 people) for each state. To control for these variables, we
also measured the violent crime rate (per 100,000 people) for each state. The violent crime rate allows
us to see whether or not crime rate or judges are having a measurable effect on the incarceration rate.
Without controlling for the crime rate, we would not be able to tell if higher incarceration rates were
truly a result of elected judges, as crime rate would also be playing a significant part. This is because it
could be purely coincidental that violent crime rates are higher in states that also elect judges.
Therefore, if we didn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The value of each variable is the number of people who are incarcerated per 100,000 people. No
mathematical equation or changes were made before entering it into the SPSS program, our statistical
test.
For our data, we chose to control for the violent crime in each state. We did this by using the violent
crime rate, which was measured similarly to the incarceration rate. We measured it by every 100,000
people for each of the 50 states. In order to code this, we used a range of 0 100,000. The variable can
be anywhere within the range and only represents the number of individuals who have committed
violent crime per 100,000 people per state. No type of equations or recoding was done before we
entered this data into the SPSS program. We used a linear regression as the statistical test to prove our
hypothesis. We chose to run a linear regression because the dependent variable, the incarceration rate,
had more than two values that could be used. This is because the incarceration rates could range
anywhere from 0 to 100,000 people. Therefore, it only made sense to use the linear regression. As
seen, the independent variable was whether a state elected or appointed judges. Further, the violent
crime rate (per 100,000 people) was the control variable. With the data above, we can conclude that
our hypothesis (which asserts that states that elect judges are more likely than those who appoint
judges to have higher

Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth is the most interesting and complex character in the play. She is, in fact, the point on
which the action pivots: without her there is no play.
Macbeth s most interesting and complex character is most certainly, as the question states, Lady
Macbeth. The purpose of this essay is to describe Lady Macbeth s role in the play and discuss why
this makes her the most fascinating character. Her evil doings are the main reasons why she dominates
the plot so greatly. These include the following: considers Macbeth to be a wimp not wanting to
murder; letting Macbeth fulfill her plan; taking control over Macbeth s thoughts and actions; turning
Macbeth from a loyal man to a greedy, coldhearted human being. Also ... Show more content on

Still asleep Lady Macbeth asks, what, will these hands ne re be clean? foreseeing that she will never
have peace of mind. This change in character is truly remarkable considering her dominant nature in
Acts one and two.
The transformation of the relationship between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth is another interesting part
of Lady Macbeth. In acts one and two their relationship is strong and loving. This strength is shown
when Macbeth agreements to conduct his wife s plans because of a threat Lady Macbeth made to take
away her love. This meant Macbeth was essentially willing to kill so that his relationship with Lady
Macbeth continued.
After the murder and the crowning of Macbeth the once strong relationship between Macbeth and
Lady Macbeth rapidly deteriorates, so much so that when Macbeth hears of his wife s death he does
not feel any emotion what so ever. When Macbeth became king he and his wife rarely saw each other
as Macbeth was occupied in running and protecting Scotland and also himself. At this stage (acts three
and four) in the play Lady Macbeth s role is not as evident but when she did make appearances they
were usually important to the plot.
At the beginning Lady Macbeth finds strength to lure Macbeth to murder King Duncan and to commit
the murder herself. As the play progresses, her apparent strength diminishes as she fights

HIST 211
Fall 2014
In what ways did the Indian Removal act under President Jackson help establish a new interpretation
of democracy and a movement away from revolutionary era republicanism?
Andrew Jackson: The Era of the Common Man at the Expense of the Other
The essential question of the Jacksonian period in American history should not be focused on slavery,
nor on western migration of native tribes (as important, relevant, and controversial as these topics are).
It is true that his administration did try to hide and dismiss slavery, and it is also true that in the
manner of its execution the policy of Indian removal was a horror. However, the fundamental question
surrounding his presidency revolves around how the doctrines of democracy replaced the doctrines of
republicanism. Indeed, Jackson had a powerful contribution to American political history. The
Jacksonian Era actually changed the goal of the Founding Fathers to put more power into the
presidency rather than in congress. His commitment to the federal structure, states rights, and a
severely limited central government, all accounted for in his policy of Indian removal are Jackson s
greatest contributions and resulted in the development of modern democracy in the United States.
The founding fathers envisioned and brought to life a system of checks and balances to prevent an
over concentrated power in a central government. They wanted to preserve and protect American

The environmentalist movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries presents a picture of America
at the time: torn between the desires to expand while seeking to protect nature. Although all members
of the movement sought to protect nature, there were two predominant schools as to how to go about
this. In their two philosophies, they created two methods for human interaction with the wilderness.

Pinchot brought the gospel that forestry was the art of using a forest without destroying it... [He]
preached that through the use of proper methods a forest could be both harvested and preserved.
(McGeary 23) This conviction reveals the underlying theory to all of the conservation movement, that
nature should be viewed in the confines of its economic value. For example, Pinchot s policy did not
allow for the continuation of old growth forests, but demanded that they be cut down and let new trees

To understand where the motivation and passion to protect the environment was developed, one looks

Essay On Social Construction Of Race
Society plays a major role in classifying people race, ethnicity, and social treatment. The definition of
race can be put into two categories biological and sociological factors. Race is an ideology that people
use to describe the physical and genetic makeup of an individual. A person racial construction greatly
impacts an individual s identity. This is look as the person skin color, facial bone structure, eyes, and
hair color. Although, there is no basis confirm these ideas, race has been used to determine a person s
health and character. In terms of the sociological factors that defines race is ethnicity. It is the cultural
aspect of a group of people this include their values, traditions, and position in society. The public
laws and policies is what determines an individual s standing in society. The biological and social
factors both work equally to define race.

The Beliefs Of Faith In Martin Luther s The Freedom Of God
When you hear the word faith, what comes to your mind? Do you think of religion, purpose, or your
belief in something?
What is faith? Is it a feeling, a thought, or a concept? As Martin Luther said in his book Freedom of a
Christian, faith is God s work in us, that changes us and gives new birth from God. When one thinks
of faith, they maybe think about their personal relationship with God and the unconditional love He
has. He who through faith is righteous shall live. The Word of God cannot be interpreted by any works
but only by faith. Martin Luther had stated that, It is clear that, as the soul needs only the Word of God
for its life and righteousness, so it is justified by faith alone and not any works. (Janz, A Reformation
Reader, pg 109)
There are three powers or virtues of faith that Martin Luther describes. Firstly, justification through
faith alone, which means we are free from the law and works as regards our justification and salvation.
Secondly, unity of man and Christ like bride to bridegroom which means faith unites the soul to
Christ, and lastly, the ability to ascribe to [God] truthfulness, righteousness, and whatever else should
be ascribed to one who is trusted. (Luther, The Freedom of a Christian, p. 103)
The first proposition of the three powers of faith is, Every Christian is by faith so exalted above all
things that, in spiritual power, he is completely lord of all things, so that nothing whatever can do him
any hurt; yea, all things are

Basketball Scar
Every scar makes me who I am
Someone once said, Scars are stories in our skin . Often we look at them as a blemish or a bad
memory. We suffer for a long time by trying to find our happiness for healing ourselves. Are scares
not the symbol of experience? Are they not the things that make us who we are? In my life I have
learned that we need to remember the scars, whether emotional or physical. Sometimes they can be
positive and keep the memories of self esteem and honor. I was injured many times, but one that I will
never forget was getting a scar in a basketball game. I was 12 when I began to play basketball at the
school. Only 3 years passed when I was chosen as the best player, and now I am here with other girls
who were much older than I.
There was the great game, overflowed by different emotions I was sitting on the bench. It was my first
game on the new team. I could just sit on the bench and wait when the coach let me go to the court.
The game was very exciting. The score was tied. The bleachers were going to explode with
excitement. I was sitting on the bench and became so sucked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I was completely scared. I did not immediately realize that the name my coach just said was mine. I
got up from the bench and went towards the court. Yes, I am there. I was trying to focus myself, trying
to calm myself down, but the people on the bleachers disturbed me. Finally, I got the ball. It was the
moment when I could hardly understand what happened. The tall strong girl ran at me. I tried to avoid
getting hit, but I did not have time. She knocked me down, and I fell heavily to the floor. As I realized
then I injured my knee. However, I still kept the ball. The big tall girl, who looked more like a boy,
tried to take the ball away from me. I don t know where I got this power but I could resist her. When
the referee ran over to us, I still held the ball. It was amazing. I was raised on the legs, and then pain,

How Did Colonial Society Change In The 18th Century
By the 18th century the colonial society changed drastically. As the population increased the economic
and social system changed. With the new forms of trade colonies were able to implement commodity
money to obtain goods.Let alone, by the 18th century, colonies had different types of government as
well as different commodity money creating some conflicts between the colonies commerce.
Furthermore, there were three types of political system among the thirteen colonies. Such as the
provincial colonies, the proprietary colonies, and the charter colonies. In addition, society also
experienced some changes. For example, before the 18th century women had less power in their
bodies. But new ideas and belief changed the way women viewed marriage. ... Show more content on

This invention made it possible to print the Bible and other religious books, giving more power to the
churches to spread religion in the colonies. As the primary source Blueprint of Protograph of Christ
church described religion was very important in the British colonies. For example, in Virgina the
Anglican church was the official religion, all residents had to attend to church if not they received a
fine. Religion played an important role in politics and socioeconomic system in the colonies. As a
matter of fact, religion separated people based on their class status.White people with money would
seat at the front, poor white in the back and enslaves men and women would seat closest to the door if
not stood. What surprised me the most was how churches would say that all people were equal under
God, but they separated people based on their social status. The American Yawp mentioned the first
group against slavery known as the Quakers, who believed on the equality of all human souls. By
1758 slaves owners were not admitted into their meetings, because slavery was a form of injustice

The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Children Essay
Domestic violence is a crime of either passion or violence which should never be tolerated by
anybody if at all the society is to be made safe enough for people to live in. Domestic violence can be
defined as any threatening, abusive, or violent behavior in the home either between adult children and
other adult family members (Gibbons, 2011). It can also be used by one intimate partner to establish
power and control over the other partner through fear and intimidation. Domestic violence can happen
anywhere to anyone of any race, religion, culture, or economic status. It can occur in any relationship,
including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender and also within extended families
(Women s Aid 2010). It affects both partners, their children, other family members, friends, and
colleagues. Although emotional abuse in a relationship can happen equally regardless of gender, the
more threatening and dangerous forms of domestic violence are usually committed by a man against a
woman (Patriarchal Roots, n.d). Often the aggressor in a violent relationship feels a high level of
ownership over the other partner and the children which too often results in injury or death if this
person tries to end the relationship or report the violence. Unfortunately, children are not left out and
many times they fall victims of abuse or sexual assault (Sexual violence against women, n.d). This can
be very traumatizing to the children and they might grow up in fear of being abusers

A Community School is a strategy for organizing the resources of the community around student
success. It is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources.
Its integrated focus on academics, services, supports and opportunities leads to improved student
learning, stronger families and healthier communities. Schools become centers of the community and
are open to everyone all day, evenings and weekends, year round ( Community Schools in New York

With New York City as the largest school district in the country, the successful implementation of this

Community School Strategic Plan). Within one year, Mayor de Blasio will have created 128
Community Schools surpassing his goal (83 Renewal Schools and 45 AIDP schools) (New York City

Policy Initiatives, Richard Beury, former President and CEO of the Children s Aid Society, to the
newly created position was a strategy to bring the Community School model to scale (New York City

not be a one size fits all model since these schools vary in grade level, size of student population,
backgrounds, and the needs of the students and families (City of New York Concept Paper). Thus,
each school must carry out a comprehensive needs assessment with parents, teachers, school leaders,

Stanley Milgram s In The Perils Of Obedience
According to the Oxford dictionary Obedience is defined as a compliance with an order, request, or
law or submission to another s authority. In many situations authority demonstrates the ability to
control man to go against their beliefs in what is morally right. Due to fear and the insecurities of man,
authority may push the limits of society to a point where the individual may temporarily give up their
identity. This is proven by The Stanford Prison experiment The combination of realism and symbolism
in this experiment had fused to create a vivid illusion of imprisonment. The illusion merged
inextricably with reality for at least some of the time for every individual in the situation. It was
remarkable how readily we all slipped into our roles, temporarily gave up our identities, and allowed
these assigned roles and social forces in the situation to guide, shape, and eventually ... Show more

student had been an actor hired to react to each shock, as the shock was to increase so did their
reactions to appeal to the teacher s empathy. When the teachers had reached a dangerous high voltage
and continued to do so it demonstrated a form of blind authority. Blind authority is obeying the law
only because it is a law, convinced your actions are okay because one is obeying orders of an authority
greater than man. It is apparent that this is blind authority due to the teachers questioning if they
should continue the experiment and demonstrating feeling guilt or discomfort in their task given.

The Great Serpent Bound Analysis
Civilizations develop when the environment of a region can support a large and productive population
(Sayre 8). Even though civilizations do not last forever, there are elements within it that share their
culture with the world making them an everlasting memory and something to strive towards. The
belief system and social structure of a culture is known through the images and written language that
they leave behind (Sayre 11). The Great Serpent Mound is an art piece created by the Hopewell that
skillfully encompasses their culture.

Just as belief system is tied to the spiritual world, social structure is tied to the material world. The
way in which a culture interacts with the material world affects the culture s social structure by
causing changes that stem from involvement with other cultures or civilizations. For example, the
burials showed that the Woodlands area of trade was vast, spanning from the Great Lakes, Gulf Coast,
Florida, and the Appalachian Mountains (Sayre 25). Whenever cultures become involved in trade,
their original culture is altered from what it originally was because it has been influenced by new ideas
and materialistic objects. The Hopewell culture [was] in southern Ohio causing it to venture away

Sports And Sports Fanatics
My everyday routine is nothing short of excitement, the thrill I get from my everyday life is seeing
what is going on in the sports realm. Sports controls my everyday activities and makes me who I am. I
have an extreme passion and love for almost every sport known to mankind. I am a hard core typical
sports fanatic in today s world. The first reason is sports controls how I act and talk. Secondly, I spend
an excessive amount of time consuming sports activities. Perhaps the trait the plays the biggest role in
making me such a huge fanatic is the amount of money I put into sports. First off, my vocabulary and
the way I talk is often controlled by sports and my passion for the games. Just like most sports fans I
love to trash talk especially when my teams are succeeding. For example, when I go to a sports event
if my team is winning I love rubbing it in the faces of the supporters for the opposing team. Sports
affects how I talk by effecting my mood based on my teams performances whether it is good or bad.
For instance, when the Philadelphia Eagles lose my mood is atrocious and I speak negatively with
little hope in my voice. However, when they win I use much more positive words through the week
and I become upbeat. Often people know if the Eagles won their game based on how I act and speak.
The way I talk is one aspect that proves that I am a typical sports fanatic that lets sports control my
life. Secondly, it is obvious to the world that I am a typical ports fanatic due

been discovered by accident. For example, one day a man named Percy spencer had helped change

and after it melted he had discovered how to make an invention that would change the world and help
make cooking easier therefore he had made a company that would help him make a device that would

The Film Analysis Of Dunkirk By Christopher Nolan
The movie Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan captures the action and intensity of a war zone in a sandy
beach in northern France. The criteria for any movie to exceed expectations would be to have a strong
story arc, character development, music, suspense, special effects, authenticity to history, and realistic
setting. Dunkirk meets all the criteria for a movie that s why it passed the $500 million mark this past
weekend. For a historical movie, Dunkirk, exceeds the criteria for a successful movie because of it s
focus on character development, being historically accurate, and being suspenseful. Dunkirk is

The fighter pilots risk their lives throughout the movie to protect their fellow soldiers before running
out of fuel. The three citizens risking their lives step up because they feel like it s their duty. They
grow as people because they have no fear going into war infested waters. Dunkirk is a true story that
also has minimal exaggerated parts. John Broich from Slate said In terms of accuracy, it rates pretty
highly. There are no big, glaring historical whoppers . The portrayal of the soldiers was accurate.
During war soldiers had to deal with artillery fire, air assaults, and pure trauma and during the movie
it was represented correctly. Nolan s idea for this movie was to represent the terrors of war and
experiences soldiers had to deal with. Not everything was portrayed accurately but this is a movie and
the audience needs to be entertained somehow. Although Tommy and Alex are character brought to
life, soldiers would try anything possible to get on ships. Unfortunately, many shivered to death
because of the fear of being trapped in a shipping ship. Points were exaggerated to serve a purpose
however, the audience member can realistically create an image in their head about war and what it
takes to survive and serve your country. For a movie that reaches two hours in length the audience
member should be at the edge of their seat. It always crosses the back of the audiences members mind

Literary Analysis Of Their Eyes Were Watching God
Literary Analysis Paper #4
Their Eyes Were Watching God
Abid Ahmad
November 15, 2017
Our emotions are the single most human characteristics that we possess, making them nearly
impossible to encapsulate. The oppression that some of us might face may seem so great that a
limitless lexicon still won t suffice in order to convey our feelings. Similarly, the eternal feeling of
love, an intangible force that drives many of us in our actions sometimes will never receive the justice
it deserves through concrete diction. Rather, sometimes the only way to convey such internal feelings
is by externalizing it in our environment. Zora Neil Hurston does this in her novel Their Eyes Were
Watching God. She does this on every level, ranging from very broad and general symbols that can be
tweaked to different situations, to very specific images that convey an in depth and singular message.
This range allows Hurston to work her metaphors through each situation on almost every sentence,
while still flooding the novel with sensory detail. This integration between symbolism and nature is
essential in bringing the book to life. Using ever lasting images of the sun, trees, and animals as
analogies allow the reader to fully visualize the beauty in the ambience of Hurston s novel. These
extended metaphors serve the dual purpose of fascinating imagery, while adding to the diverse and
dynamic tone of the book. Hurston primarily employed her metaphors through timeless and broad
images such as the

Dred Scott V Sandford
Rap music is a reflection of Black culture that for decades has been used to highlight social injustices.
There are many similarities to the Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857), which help to underline the
historical pain the Blacks had to endure both in the past and present. The case of Dred Scott v.
Sandford was based on the establishment of racism and political movement on enslavement. Chang,
Jeff Can t Stop Won t Stop explains the events of (1960 1973) social condition prevailing in New
York, especially the South Bronx, in the generation leading up to the birth of hip hop.
The impact of the Dred Scott v. Sandford lasted from (1833 1857). Dred Scott was originally from
Virginia but resided in both Illinois and Missouri for most of his life. One of the reasons he resided in
Illinois, was because it was known as a free state. In 1846, Dred Scott entered the state of Missouri
and sued for his freedom in the Missouri Courts; unfortunately it was an unsuccessful attempt.
Throughout his life, he continued to challenge the Courts for his freedom, ultimately obtaining
freedom in 1857. Dred Scott becoming a free black was the beginning of an American history
revolution.
Enslavement existed for at least 400 years and some might say that it still exist today but presents
itself differently. It has a huge impact on African Americans because living in an anti black world has
an effect on a person s psyche. In addition, African Americans depended on religious songs that were

  • 2. Importance of Voting Essay The Importance of Voting With the Long Lines, the stressful waiting, and the constant question of asking yourself why am I here? on going in your head makes the waiting to vote the most exciting thing ever. But wait aside of that, think for a second. This year there were people going to vote even when hurricane sandy hit parts of their neighborhood, destroyed their houses or flooded several ways for them to get to their voting station, but they still voted. They re is people who went to those voting polls and spent long hours putting whatever situation they were in aside and went to vote. • 3. We Must Regain Our Lost Civil Liberties Essay With our nation s tragedy of September 11, 2001, arose a deeply shaken America, shocked by the extent of the cruelty. An act of terrorism of that magnitude had never been seen before in our country. Patriots quickly came together, supporting the president to pass legislation, known as the USA Patriot Act, to tackle internal and external threats to this nation. The debate ensued, focused on which types of surveillance technology should or shouldn t be allowed for arresting terrorists. However, the question remains as to how these devices are going to be used, and how personally are those who use them held accountable. The purpose of this paper is to confirm that the proposed monitoring and archiving of users information on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the laws included in the Patriot Act is the Electronic Communications Privacy Act or ECPA. The ECPA is used to monitor and retain information while intercepting ....email and other electronic communications... and specifies the government s access to this type of information (The USA Patriot Act, 2005, p.4). One difference between the ECPA and other laws included in this Act is probable cause. The ECPA does not mandate probable cause, thus posing serious privacy violations with the use of trap and trace devices. According to Gerdes, in the book, The Patriot Act, a trap and trace device is described as a device which captures the incoming electronic or other impulses which identify the originating number of an instrument or device from which a wire or electronic communication was transmitted (Gerdes, 2005, p.119). The trap and trace information, which is tailored to electronic communication, can only be relevant during court proceedings when an attorney provides a judicial certification before the installation (The USA Patriot Act, 2005, p. 5). According to the ACLU, the trap and trace devices monitor all electronic communication and to perform this type of surveillance the government only needs to show probable cause (National Security, n.d.). The issue of our privacy rights has definitely been influenced since 9/11, we have all been affected and at the height of all the terror and fear, our absent civil liberties simply went unnoticed. ... • 4. Analysis Of Marvell s To His Coy Mistress During the Early Modern Period, many authors began questioning the church and looking outside of religious beliefs to come to terms with how to live their lives. Independent thinking and introspection are evident in many of the literary works written throughout the period. Poet Marvell weighs piety and his worldly desires in To his Coy Mistress . Marvell recognizes the devout ways his society lives under by the means of the Christian church; but, he writes in the style of carpe diem ( To His Coy Mistress Note Page), in which he believes that one should live life for the now, and not worry about the consequences that may await him in the afterlife. He tackles this idea in a poem for his lover, encouraging her to throw away her chastity and be with him now in every way possible. In lines 27 29, Marvell urges his lover that her long preserv d Virginity will go to waste when her quaint Honour turn to dust once she has died and rots away in a tomb. He conveys to her that she should not resist her urges because once she is dead, what she did while living will matter no more than what she did not do. Marvell poignantly end his poem telling his lover, Thus, though we cannot make our Sun Stand still, yet we will make him run. (Lines 45 46). He acknowledges the fact that he cannot make time stop or death come any later in the first line; nevertheless, he wants to live his life freely to make the inevitable not matter as much because if he lives his life as he wants, he ... Many scientists say they are just made of water vapor and the real name is Contrails short for (condensation trails). Some say that they have chemicals in it has it sprayed all over the clouds to get to the people. But all that is not true because I have seen videos up close, pictures that s clear, scientist that experimenting and talking about it right now. Chemtrails are not harmful. The U.S. wouldn t do thing like it. In theory, the scientist Phil Plait says the clouds coming from jets they are really just a product of condensation of water vapor. These videos show that the water vapor coming out of the jets are just water droplets crystalizing into ice then goes into the clouds form as a cloud. As watch a YouTube video it shows that chemtrails are starting as water vapor because there nothing coming out of it when you turn it on. As a theory, there are no chemicals based on the videos. In these videos the chemtrails shows that there are no chemicals. At last, I saw pictures that describes that there are no chemicals because the chemtrails don t start as one. As I saw a picture up close when a jet is about to release the water vapor they are forming in to clouds. It would probably take a lot longer for chemicals to form into a cloud. There are so pictures that look the same it s just water vapor they don t hurt people. Also, they are all the way up in the air they can t reach you. In conclusion, chemtrails are just water vapor forming into clouds, so that the air would have more cover, Also, it s to control the weather from disaster, and the population and our food supplies. These chemtrails help our community, they don t vandalism the country. Chemtrails are a good thing. Because scientists are researching, pictures that describe it, and videos up close. The movie The Princess Bride directed by Rob Reiner, released in 1987, Starred Cary Elwes as Westley and Robin Wright as Buttercup. The Princess Bride is about the most beautiful girl in the kingdom Florin, Buttercup, who falls in love with her farm boy, Westley. Buttercup is kidnapped by, a sicilian named vizzini, a giant Turk, named Fezzik, and champion swordsman, named Inigo. The plot of the movie is the same, and is in the same order, as the book. In the movie Westley goes missing, Buttercup is kidnapped, and Westley saves her from marrying Humperdinck. The specific names for these rocks are: limestones, shale and sandstones, clay, Lava Flow, Conglomerate, Marl, and Cherty Limestone are found in this park (N.P). Some groups studied the correlation between GPA and relationships, the school s favorite ice cream flavor, and the average number of saltines a person could eat in a minute. My group agreed a more serious topic to undertake: sleep. If you ask any student what they love most in life, we are 99% confident that they will state sleep. Sleep is what we cherish. We daydream about dreaming. Even though both boys and girls love sleep, my team was curious about the sleep each gender obtains nightly. Do boys and girls receive a different amount of average sleep per night? We hypothesized that high school girls sleep less than boys. To get to the bottom of this essential study, our team conducted a two sample t test for the difference in true population mean of average sleep per night between girls and boys. To carry out the study, we could not feasibly survey every individual at the school. Instead, we utilized cluster samples of the school by using a random number generator to choose six homerooms. To assure the independence condition was satisfied, homerooms in which girls were sampled were independent of those in which boys were sampled. Our samples were large enough to obtain ... This was going to be the last marathon that they would run before the arrival of their new son. After which Keri was going to have to take it easy from running for a while. She was due in January of 2006, but that wasn t going to stop her from running the race. Weeks leading up to the race, the two of them were enjoying each other s company while going on long training runs through the canyons and what not. The day of the race had finally arrived and Bill recalls feeling especially good, for that particular race. • 12. Overview of the Research Process for Business Students What is Research? People undertake research in order to find things out in a systematic way, thereby increasing their knowledge (Jankowicz, 1995). Systematic suggests that research is based on logical relationships and not just beliefs (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). To find things out suggests there are a multiplicity of possible purposes for your research (Becker, 1998). It is therefore an activity which has to be finished at some point to be of use. The results of research really are all around us in everyday life. Politicians often justify their policy decisions on the basis of research; Newspapers report the findings of research companies. • 13. Crime Rate And Its Effect On The Incarceration Rate In our study, the independent variable is whether a state elects or appoints judges. The dependent variable is the incarceration rate (per 100,000 people) for each state. To control for these variables, we also measured the violent crime rate (per 100,000 people) for each state. The violent crime rate allows us to see whether or not crime rate or judges are having a measurable effect on the incarceration rate. Without controlling for the crime rate, we would not be able to tell if higher incarceration rates were truly a result of elected judges, as crime rate would also be playing a significant part. This is because it could be purely coincidental that violent crime rates are higher in states that also elect judges. Therefore, if we didn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The value of each variable is the number of people who are incarcerated per 100,000 people. No mathematical equation or changes were made before entering it into the SPSS program, our statistical test. For our data, we chose to control for the violent crime in each state. We did this by using the violent crime rate, which was measured similarly to the incarceration rate. We measured it by every 100,000 people for each of the 50 states. In order to code this, we used a range of 0 100,000. The variable can be anywhere within the range and only represents the number of individuals who have committed violent crime per 100,000 people per state. No type of equations or recoding was done before we entered this data into the SPSS program. We used a linear regression as the statistical test to prove our hypothesis. We chose to run a linear regression because the dependent variable, the incarceration rate, had more than two values that could be used. This is because the incarceration rates could range anywhere from 0 to 100,000 people. Therefore, it only made sense to use the linear regression. As seen, the independent variable was whether a state elected or appointed judges. Further, the violent crime rate (per 100,000 people) was the control variable. With the data above, we can conclude that our hypothesis (which asserts that states that elect judges are more likely than those who appoint judges to have higher ... The purpose of this essay is to describe Lady Macbeth s role in the play and discuss why this makes her the most fascinating character. Her evil doings are the main reasons why she dominates the plot so greatly. This change in character is truly remarkable considering her dominant nature in Acts one and two. The transformation of the relationship between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth is another interesting part of Lady Macbeth. In acts one and two their relationship is strong and loving. This strength is shown when Macbeth agreements to conduct his wife s plans because of a threat Lady Macbeth made to take away her love. This meant Macbeth was essentially willing to kill so that his relationship with Lady Macbeth continued. After the murder and the crowning of Macbeth the once strong relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth rapidly deteriorates, so much so that when Macbeth hears of his wife s death he does not feel any emotion what so ever. When Macbeth became king he and his wife rarely saw each other as Macbeth was occupied in running and protecting Scotland and also himself. At this stage (acts three and four) in the play Lady Macbeth s role is not as evident but when she did make appearances they were usually important to the plot. Jake Vertin TA: Andrew Dial HIST 211 Fall 2014 In what ways did the Indian Removal act under President Jackson help establish a new interpretation of democracy and a movement away from revolutionary era republicanism? Andrew Jackson: The Era of the Common Man at the Expense of the Other The essential question of the Jacksonian period in American history should not be focused on slavery, nor on western migration of native tribes (as important, relevant, and controversial as these topics are). It is true that his administration did try to hide and dismiss slavery, and it is also true that in the manner of its execution the policy of Indian removal was a horror. However, the fundamental question surrounding his presidency revolves around how the doctrines of democracy replaced the doctrines of republicanism. Indeed, Jackson had a powerful contribution to American political history. The Jacksonian Era actually changed the goal of the Founding Fathers to put more power into the presidency rather than in congress. His commitment to the federal structure, states rights, and a severely limited central government, all accounted for in his policy of Indian removal are Jackson s greatest contributions and resulted in the development of modern democracy in the United States. Domestic violence can be defined as any threatening, abusive, or violent behavior in the home either between adult children and other adult family members (Gibbons, 2011). • 30. Sports And Sports Fanatics My everyday routine is nothing short of excitement, the thrill I get from my everyday life is seeing what is going on in the sports realm. Sports controls my everyday activities and makes me who I am. I have an extreme passion and love for almost every sport known to mankind. I am a hard core typical sports fanatic in today s world. The first reason is sports controls how I act and talk. Secondly, I spend an excessive amount of time consuming sports activities. Perhaps the trait the plays the biggest role in making me such a huge fanatic is the amount of money I put into sports. First off, my vocabulary and the way I talk is often controlled by sports and my passion for the games. Just like most sports fans I love to trash talk especially when my teams are succeeding. For example, when I go to a sports event if my team is winning I love rubbing it in the faces of the supporters for the opposing team. Sports affects how I talk by effecting my mood based on my teams performances whether it is good or bad. For instance, when the Philadelphia Eagles lose my mood is atrocious and I speak negatively with little hope in my voice. However, when they win I use much more positive words through the week and I become upbeat. Often people know if the Eagles won their game based on how I act and speak. The way I talk is one aspect that proves that I am a typical sports fanatic that lets sports control my life. Secondly, it is obvious to the world that I am a typical ports fanatic due ... Franklin s dream for Oakland was drastically different from the smog filled Downtown and was an ambitious goal. However, with the help of other Pittsburgh notables: Andrew W. Mellon, Henry Frick, Andrew Carnegie, George Westinghouse and H. J. Heinz, Nicola formed the Bellefield Company, which constructed numerous iconic Oakland landmarks. Such ventures included: the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh, the campuses of the University of Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University), Forbes Field, Soldiers Sailors Memorial Hall, the Masonic Temple (now Pitt s Alumni Hall), the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, and the ... King provided the perspective that riots were self defeating and that while a riot is the voice of the unheard he still has faith in the future of the civil rights movement (Eskey). Today the university holds similar student events in the William Pitt Union. For example, earlier this fall the University held a video conference event for students to hear from former government contractor, Edward Snowden, and popular writer Te Nehisi Coates addressed students, faculty, and community members just last week in regards to his work. Mr. Coates was named one of TIME Magazine s 100 Most Influential People in 2016, and it was a great informational event that many students took the opportunity to attend. However, in contrast the University has also held some not so prestigious events as well. For me it is baffling to think that in the same building where presidents stayed, and Martin Luther King Junior gave a speech, the University showed the overly sexual and disturbing movie Sausage Party , or held a Residential Life Pillow Fight (which in itself just seems strange to me). While the University does put on numerous educational events for both the community and students; the William Pitt Union Student Center sees its fair share ... For example, one day a man named Percy spencer had helped change our kitchens forever when he brought a piece of chocolate into a factory and dropped it onto the floor, and after it melted he had discovered how to make an invention that would change the world and help make cooking easier therefore he had made a company that would help him make a device that would mimic the effects of the chocolate bar against the factory floor, but only after 20 years he had finally perfected the effects of the heat against the chocolate bar on the factory floor and he called it the microwave. And it was the most useful invention of its time. The man who was first to make a machine who had helped to make communication easier for everyone and changed the world by allowing people ... • 34. The Film Analysis Of Dunkirk By Christopher Nolan The movie Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan captures the action and intensity of a war zone in a sandy beach in northern France. The criteria for any movie to exceed expectations would be to have a strong story arc, character development, music, suspense, special effects, authenticity to history, and realistic setting. Dunkirk meets all the criteria for a movie that s why it passed the $500 million mark this past weekend. For a historical movie, Dunkirk, exceeds the criteria for a successful movie because of it s focus on character development, being historically accurate, and being suspenseful. Dunkirk is commune in northern France and during World War II it was the location of the movie and the battle. The area was surrounded by Nazi s and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fighter pilots risk their lives throughout the movie to protect their fellow soldiers before running out of fuel. The three citizens risking their lives step up because they feel like it s their duty. They grow as people because they have no fear going into war infested waters. Dunkirk is a true story that also has minimal exaggerated parts. John Broich from Slate said In terms of accuracy, it rates pretty highly. There are no big, glaring historical whoppers . The portrayal of the soldiers was accurate. During war soldiers had to deal with artillery fire, air assaults, and pure trauma and during the movie it was represented correctly. Nolan s idea for this movie was to represent the terrors of war and experiences soldiers had to deal with. Not everything was portrayed accurately but this is a movie and the audience needs to be entertained somehow. Although Tommy and Alex are character brought to life, soldiers would try anything possible to get on ships. Unfortunately, many shivered to death because of the fear of being trapped in a shipping ship. Points were exaggerated to serve a purpose however, the audience member can realistically create an image in their head about war and what it takes to survive and serve your country. For a movie that reaches two hours in length the audience member should be at the edge of their seat. It always crosses the back of the audiences members mind if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Literary Analysis Of Their Eyes Were Watching God Literary Analysis Paper #4 Their Eyes Were Watching God Abid Ahmad November 15, 2017 Our emotions are the single most human characteristics that we possess, making them nearly impossible to encapsulate. The oppression that some of us might face may seem so great that a limitless lexicon still won t suffice in order to convey our feelings. Similarly, the eternal feeling of love, an intangible force that drives many of us in our actions sometimes will never receive the justice it deserves through concrete diction. Rather, sometimes the only way to convey such internal feelings is by externalizing it in our environment. Zora Neil Hurston does this in her novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. She does this on every level, ranging from very broad and general symbols that can be tweaked to different situations, to very specific images that convey an in depth and singular message. This range allows Hurston to work her metaphors through each situation on almost every sentence, while still flooding the novel with sensory detail. This integration between symbolism and nature is essential in bringing the book to life. Using ever lasting images of the sun, trees, and animals as analogies allow the reader to fully visualize the beauty in the ambience of Hurston s novel. These extended metaphors serve the dual purpose of fascinating imagery, while adding to the diverse and dynamic tone of the book. Hurston primarily employed her metaphors through timeless and broad images such as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Dred Scott V Sandford Rap music is a reflection of Black culture that for decades has been used to highlight social injustices. There are many similarities to the Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857), which help to underline the historical pain the Blacks had to endure both in the past and present. The case of Dred Scott v. Sandford was based on the establishment of racism and political movement on enslavement. Chang, Jeff Can t Stop Won t Stop explains the events of (1960 1973) social condition prevailing in New York, especially the South Bronx, in the generation leading up to the birth of hip hop. The impact of the Dred Scott v. Sandford lasted from (1833 1857). Dred Scott was originally from Virginia but resided in both Illinois and Missouri for most of his life. One of the reasons he resided in Illinois, was because it was known as a free state. In 1846, Dred Scott entered the state of Missouri and sued for his freedom in the Missouri Courts; unfortunately it was an unsuccessful attempt. Throughout his life, he continued to challenge the Courts for his freedom, ultimately obtaining freedom in 1857. Dred Scott becoming a free black was the beginning of an American history revolution. Enslavement existed for at least 400 years and some might say that it still exist today but presents itself differently. It has a huge impact on African Americans because living in an anti black world has an effect on a person s psyche. In addition, African Americans depended on religious songs that were ...
