Safe Sex No Regrets Campaign Essay
Northern Territory Government Safe Sex, No Regrets Media Campaign
Australia has been experiencing increased rates of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) over
the past ten years as a direct result of unsafe sex practises (ABS Australian Social Trends, Jun
2012). These infections are some of the most common illnesses worldwide affecting the health and
wellbeing of people infected, particularily women in regards to their fertility (Gerbase, Rowley,
heymann et, al 1998). Northern Territory Health (2008) along with the other Australian states have
identified that the age group at being most at risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections is
people aged between 15 and 29. This paper will establish whether a positive ... Show more content

The National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (2010) received reports that the
predominant sexually transmissible infections during 2010 were Chlamydia and syphilis. It has
been established that the 15 to 29 year age group have the highest rates of infection and this is
continually increasing (Wilkins amp; Mak 2005). Research carried out by Stancombe Research
amp; Planning (2008) have confirmed that people falling into this age group not only show higher
rates of infection of STIs but also have limited knowledge of correct safe sex practice. These
findings brought to the forefront that the awareness of STIs was extremely low, particularly
amongst the younger population bringing to attention that education about the harm associated
with STIs was and is crucial, along with informed structural strategies that help reduce the risks, if
changing beliefs and attitudes in regards to improved sexual health are to be achieved.
Undiagnosed and untreated sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have negative health outcomes
for both individuals involved and the community (Strobel amp; Ward 2012). Higher costs to
medical services are a direct result from complications such as infertility, pelvic inflammatory
disease and cervical cancer caused by STIs. Risks need to be brought to the wider communities
attention and messages that STIs contribute to the mortality statistics through deaths associated

Debt and Usury Case Usury
History and Background To begin my research, I wanted to get a clear understanding of just
exactly what usury was and how it came about. The word usury is derived from both the Medieval
Latin word usuria, meaning interest or excessive interest , and from the Latin word usura, which
simply means interest. At that point in time, the definition of usurymeant the charging of interest on
loans, but over time after the legislation of countries to limit the rate of interest on loans, the
definition of usury came to mean the interest above the lawful rate. As it stands today, usury would
be found to mean the charging of unreasonable or relatively high rates of interest. The practice of
usury can be traced back over four... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam Smith, who was considered the Father of the Free market Capitalism and known for his
general advocacy of laissez fair economics, however, was strongly in support of controlling usury
(Jadlow, 1977; Levy, 1987). While he didn t want to completely exclude interest, he was in favor of
the imposition of an interest rate ceiling (Smith, 1937). Another reformist was Silvio Gesell, a
successful nineteenth century merchant in Germany and Argentina, who condemned interest on
the basis that his sales were more often related to the pride of money than people s needs or the
quality of his products (Gesell, 1904). His proposal of making money a public service subject to a
use fee led to widespread experimentation in Austria, France, Germany, Spain Switzerland, and the
United States under the banner of the so called stamp script movement , but these initiatives were
all squashed when their success began to threaten the national banking monopolies (Kennedy, 1995).
Usury Law
Generally, usury law is used for the most part in the handling of consumer credit cases that involve
the statutes and regulations which limit the charges that creditors may assess when extending
credit to consumers. There are many statutes and regulations which restrict credit charges. The
oldest of these are referred to as general usury statutes which are established to set the maximum
rate of interest that can be charged in any loan transaction in a

Shakespeare and Plagiarism Essay
Shakespeare and Plagiarism William Shakespeare is one of the world s greatest playwrights;
however, some say that he does not fully deserve the credit for his work because he plagiarized
the work of others. Shakespeare, who was born in Stratford upon Avon in 1564, is also known as
the Bard and has written countless plays and poems which have given rise to several novels and
movie plots (Chandy). It is said that he found most of his inspiration from nature, as he mentions
birds in his works more than any other author (Mabillard). There is not enough evidence to prove
that Shakespeare did not plagiarize, nor is there enough to prove that he did. However, from what
is known, he did nothing that could get him the knowledge needed to be... Show more content on

Some people still like to argue the fact that Shakespeare was not wealthy had a lack of education
and would have had a difficult time writing such elaborate works without help (wheeler). There
are several people who are believed to be the real William Shakespeare including Sir Francis
Bacon, the Earl of Oxford, the Earl of Essex, Christopher Marlowe and Queen Elizabeth I herself
(Mabillard). This is mainly due to the fact that during the time of Shakespeare these were highly
educated and popular people. Also, there are some theories which state that Shakespeare is
really just an out of town actor who took the credit for countless works done by other authors
and playwrights (did Shakespeare actually write all his plays), and there is a record of him
acting in front of Queen Elizabeth in 1594 (Chandy). The main reason that these people believed
to be the real Shakespeare, is Shakespeare lacks the background, education, and breeding in order
to write such great plays and poems. William Shakespeare could possibly just be a political cover
up for a politician or a nobleman. A nobleman could have written the plays but the plays were
meant to be read as political commentary, with each character corresponding on a one to one basis
with real political figures

Cinematic Techniques In American Beauty
I utilize two scenes from the movie American Beauty, the two office scenes including Lester
(Kevin Spacey) and Brad (Barry Del Sherman). The cinematic techniques are identified with mise
en scene, which is the term used to portray everything put into the scene . I concentrate on decor,
lighting and props, costumes, body language (e.g., posture, gestures and facial expressions) and
composition. I additionally take a gander at how these components are confined as far as camera
stature, camera point and camera separate, all of which fall under the class of cinematography. The
scene seems right off the bat the movie. Toward the start of American Beauty, the hero, Lester
Burnham is disappointed with his life. At home he and his materialistic, aspiring... Show more

the room itself is monstrous, utilitarian, faintly lit, ineffectively enhanced and is terribly dull and
dim. Behind Lester, there is only a diminishing plant stuck in a corner and a work of art that is
too little for the divider. The stylistic layout uncovers what sort of association Lester works for,
one that sucks the life and light out of its representatives. As far as sythesis, the surrounding of
the shot is terrible too. Lester is situated in the middle base of the casing, which is a bizarre place
to put the primary subject. There is to an extreme degree a lot of headroom above him, his feet
appear to be removed, a roof light bulges down into the highest point of the casing. It is an
appalling shot in a dim, revolting room; it serves as a visual appearance of Lester s discontent and
unease. Here the shot is a mid shot, and Brad possesses an expansive bit of the edge. The low edge
mid shot accentuates his energy, particularly when compared with the high point wide shot of
Lester that we just took a gander at. At the point when Brad stands up, the low edge shot is further
stressed. Outwardly, Brad is displayed as being prevailing. His stance his straight, he is more
youthful, he is dressed all the more stylishly and his outward appearances uncover pomposity and
disdain. Behind him, the vertical Venetian blinds make a visual example that infers the bars of a
correctional facility cell or pen. To Lester, his occupation resemble a

Analysis Of Tim O Brien s Going After The
Paul in Wonderland: Reality vs. Fantasy in Tim O Brien s Going After Cacciato
On the surface, Tim O Brien s 1978 novel Going After Cacciato seems like a typical telling of the
Vietnam War from the perspective of one of the soldiers as the Third Squad searches for
Cacciato, a soldier who has gone AWOL. However, a closer reading would reveal that the vast
majority of the novel does not actually take place in reality. This search for Cacciato is a fantasy
which takes place in Paul Berlin s head, and the scenarios and even the Vietnamese people who
aid the Third Squad are completely fictitious. Only in a handful of chapters does the novel take
place in reality, and even fewer of these chapters takes place in one which is permanent. Reading the

The terminology parts unknown is frequently used in fairy tales and other stories in the genre of
fantasy, especially as a representation of a good place. The fact that they are currently fighting a
war in Vietnam, along with knowledge that Vietnam was once a colony of France, juxtaposes
Paris with the term parts unknown , as Paris can be seen similarly to the soldiers fighting the war
as the Emerald City is seen in any of the books in the Oz series.
The other chapter that takes place on the battlefield in a permanent reality is chapter 46, the last
chapter of the novel. One noticeable comparison between this chapter and the first chapter is that
they both share the same name: Going After Cacciato . This shows that they are both parts of the
same scene, where Doc tells Corson the news about Cacciato going AWOL. In this regard, the
novel seems to have finally come around full circle as Paul Berlin fully reenters reality after the
fantasy of the Third Squad chasing Cacciato across multiple continents. The beginning of the novel
has become the end.
This is even supported by a summary which occurs early in this chapter. Her smile when she first
saw the...of refuge. Such a fine idea. (325). Berlin wishes the fantasy actually happened. To be in
love with Vietnamese refugee and dream girl Sarkin Aung Wan, to be with her in Paris and away
from the war, to perhaps live happily ever after . All these things he wants to have happen. Most
men have these happy

The Importance Of Income Inequality
Another perception to view income inequality with is the exchange and choice perspective.
When resources are exchanged, as the core process in social life with the desire to maximize
benefits and minimize costs, a basic belief that social relationships occur in a social marketplace
in which people give in order to get in the basis for the social exchangetheory (Hutchison, 2015).
The study of attitudes toward economic inequality can be characterized as a study of whether the
glass is half full or half empty. Do the poor and the middle class opposes economic inequality and
support redistribution, as we would expect them to if they were acting in their economic self
interest? Or do the poor and the middle class act against their economic ... Show more content on

The widening gap between the rich and the poor is fueling a class based social disconnect that is
dividing this country. Economic inequality is driving everything from the actions of our political
representatives to education to the legal system to the workforce and even the dynamics of
families. Unfortunately, those that have money are in power and dictate the fate of those that don t.
As Lane Kenworthy and many others have concluded policy influences attitudes more than the
other way around (2011). Kenworthy went on to explain the general population tends to bolster
strategies they see to be compelling. Once substantial projects get set up, they fabricate a voting
demographic and get to be prominent among the American community. As social workers we must
be dedicated to advocating for policies and get effective programs enacted that can redistribute
wealth and fix income inequalities so that the poor and the middle class no longer have to

Simpson s Bambaata A Review Of Hip-Hop
1983: Afrika Bambaataa spins the wheels of steel, his vintage scratching skills and guru like
vibe turning Chic s Good Times into a mass call and response. As fists pump the air and a smile
appears on every face, a sweaty Liverpool rock venue is transformed into a euphoric New York
block party. (Simpson). A scene from his 1982 global tour, where Bambaataa brought the
principals of his Universal Zulu Nation abroad, Simpson exclaims on how Bambaataa, former
gang warlord, founder of the black nationalist Universal Zulu Nation, and Master of the Records
got thousands of oppressed people from all different parts of the worlds, to pump their fists to a
synchronized beat, soon to be distilled in one message: peace, love, unity, and having fun. Simpson

Simpson s review emphasizes Bambaataa s ability to bring people together, to get everyone s fists
pumping , placing a smile ... on every face , alluding to the transcendence of racial differences
through the intersection of music movements hip hop and rock, the merging of peoples in the
1980s. In the 1970s, hip hop was as a voice for marginalized African American and Puerto Rican
youth. This movement was a generational revolt against the status quo, and in the midst of it
becoming global, it became commercial, about making money. Rather than valuing the music s
effects on the people, as the review of Bambaataa did, TOURE shows how the 1980s 1990s music
industry had begun to commercialize it, stripping it of its focus on the backbeat and transforming it
into something else. Rather than reflecting the voices and needs of youth at the time, it became
something unachievable above the people, effectively diluting its political

My Hawaii Vacation
When I learned that my family and I would be going to Hawaii, I looked forward to going to the
beach, sightseeing, and the warm weather. I never knew that this vacation would end up
teaching me valuable life lessons. It was the summer of 2014 when I went to Hawaii, and I was so
excited because I love traveling and I had always wanted to go there. There is a six hour time
difference which was hard to get used to because we ended up landing in Hawaiiat what would
have been four in the morning in Ohio. Before we landed in Hawaii, the vacation did not start off
very well.
When we arrived at the airport in Los Angeles for our connecting flight, we were kept on the plane
for almost an hour, even though our layover was only forty five minutes. We knew we did not
have much time anyways; but after the delay, we thought we would miss the only flight to
Hawaii that night. When we were finally able to get off the plane, a girl around the age of
twenty five who was on the flight was yelling at everyone and trying to push everyone out of the
way so she could get out first. She ended up getting off the plane before us even though she was
sitting in the very back. Because of this, we could not find my brother when we got into the
airport. However, the airport security workers were telling us to just run to the gate. At the gate, we
found my brother who was already there talking to the flight attendant. They ended up having to
delay the flight to let us on. I was surprised

The Literary Works Of Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson was, and still is, considered to be one of the massive figures of American
Literature ( Soul ). For a writing, or any piece of literature to be great, Dickinson believed it
needed to include great amount of precise descriptions, describing every little detail. It also had to
be written from the heart of real life experiences and emotions. If a writinghas these characteristics
it could be recognized as a crucial piece in American Literature. All of her phenomenal work was
discovered later after her death, and published posthumously. Dickinson first began writing as a
teenager, and continued throughout her life, while being confined to the Homestead in Amherst,
Massachusetts. After dying at the age of fifty five of kidney disease, her sister, Lavinia,
discovered her poems. Lavinia shared them with the world, for all to see, and Dickinson s voice
escalated becoming very important to the literary works of not only the twentieth century, but also
the centuries to follow. She may have lived a quiet life, but through her literary works the world
was able to see within the true emotions and significant life experiences of Emily Dickinson. Emily
Dickinson is best known for the three hundred poems she composed in one year, 1862 ( Soul ).
Dickinson was extremely good at showing her talent and passion throughout her writing because
her life experiences are reflected throughout her literary works. Much of her work was inspired by
the events around her and within

Cross Cultural Communication And Cultural Differences
When people think of business, rarely do we associate culture with the concept. This leads to an
issue in cross cultural communication. By analyzing cross cultural communication, and its
miscommunication in cultural differences, it is clear that employees should know more of a
country s defining culture. Only recently have we seen an emphasis in understanding other country
s cultures. In doing so, some businesses have prospered, while others have suffered after a terrible
miscommunication. When dealing with culture, there are three segments that an employee should
consider. What can be done before, during and after contact is made with the culture. In effectively
preparing for one, a business may successfully send the message they wish to their client.
Before even beginning communications, an individual should research the culture. When
researching the culture, individuals should identify and understand normal business patterns in that
location. This may include doing work before communication is started. For instance, in other
cultures it is customary for a friendship to develop before communications may begin. In
attempting to be on a friendly basis, clients may be more forgiving if a cultural mistake is made.
While in other cultures, giving a gift before a negotiation takes place is normal. Lastly if possible
the individual should be aware of the current state of affairs in the opposing nation to avoid
sensitive subjects. This all depends on the culture though that is

The Significance of Brown v. Board of Education Essay
In 1954, the Supreme Court of the United States was confronted with the controversial Brown v.
Board of Education case that challenged segregation in public education. Brown v. Board of
Education was a landmark Supreme Court case because it called into question the morality and
legality of racial segregation in public schools, a long standing tradition in the Jim Crow South,
and threatened to have monumental and everlasting implications for blacks and whites in America.
In 1951, Oliver L. Brown, his wife Darlene, and eleven other African American parents filed a

President Franklin D. Roosevelt said in his famous Four Freedoms speech that Freedom means the
supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those
rights or keep them but his statements were very contradictory to how African Americans were
truly being treated in the U.S. (Roosevelt, 273). After hearing complaints from African American
veterans about segregation, FDR signed Executive Order 8802 in 1941 which created the Fair
Employment Practices Committee to ensure that equal opportunity was given to people of color in
federal jobs, yet it still did not desegregate the armed forces. It would take seven more years until
President Harry S. Truman would sign Executive Order 9981 to desegregate the armed forces on

Eugene McCarthyВґs Speech Against the Vietnam War
What were Eugene McCarthy s motives for going against the Vietnam War? From the early 1960s
up until the year 1973, America was going through the Anti War Movement. The movement had
many leaders, supporters, and followers, including Martin Luther King Jr., Eugene McCarthy, and
Robert F. Kennedy. The Anti War Movement took place in order to demand the government put an
end to U.S. involvement in Southeast Asia and to stop the escalation of the Vietnam War. On
December 2 of 1967, Eugene McCarthy gave his Denouncing the Vietnam War speech in the state
of Chicago, in front of the Democratic Party. He speaks out against the war in order to point out

The speech was meant to inspire the intended audience in order to for them to give their support
to the antiwar movement by pointing out that the government s efforts to handle the war was
ineffective and unreliable. In Hall s The Vietnam Era Movement from the Magazine of History,
it is stated that the public opinion polls indicated an increase in the lack of confidence that the
people had on the president s handling of the war. Even before McCarthy gave this speech, the
audience had already given lots of strong support for the Antiwar Movement. The government
had promised over and over that the United States was winning and handling the war; as well as
ending the war as soon as possible in order to bring the troops back home. Antiwar activists were
unimpressed with Nixon s efforts, and after a brief interval escalated their protests. The idea of a
Moratorium, a suspension of normal activities, appealed to the moderates by building local actions
around a one day protest, with actions expanding one additional day each month until the war
ended (Hall). After McCarthy clearly pointed out how unreliable the government s efforts were,
the audience and supporters of the Antiwar Movement began escalating their protests and
demonstrations in order to put much more pressure. What is the spirit of 1967? What is the mood

Gold and Its Demand
Running Head: Gold and Its Demand Gold and Its Demand In the year 2008, the prices of gold
fell down to $9oo from $1,035. This was a drastic downfall in the price of gold in 2008 and this
has directly affected investors in a number of ways. The investors suffered losses of large
margin and in addition to this, many of the investors had paid from ten to fifty percent of the
deposits of their shares and when a downfall occurred in the prices of gold, many of the investors
lost almost whole amount of their capital. Beside this, the fall in the prices of gold was less as
compared to other equities and commodities (Bohm, 2011, pg 34 39). The year 2008 changed
the shape of competition among the gold investors and the main characteristic of this year was
the failure of government in the banking industry. The entire economy was suffered in this year
and in this year of deflation; the affect on gold was a decrease in price. Gold prices fall to $690,
then came back to $800 but then once again fall down due to poor financial conditions. The
value of $ which was less at the start of 2008, started to increase during the mid of the year and
the economy was becoming better but again at the end of the same year, the value of $ began to

Jane Addams was an upper class woman who thought it was her job to help others. Addams was
an advocate of immigrants, the poor, women, and peace. In 1889, she created the hull house. The
Hull house was created to help female immigrants become assimilated to the American life style by

During the 1900 s women were under the idea of the cult of domesticity. This means that the
women s place was in the home. They had jobs such as cooking, cleaning, and caring for the
children. In the article Why Women should Vote , it is clear to see that Addams is biased and
believes that women deserve the right to vote. However, unlike other persuasive article Addams
article is different, she believes women should be able to vote but she doesn t bash the male
population. She writes an article where she says not only why women should get the vote or why
women should have the vote, but rather she talks about why women should vote and why it is the

usually spends Australian $5 in the coffee shop, it does not mean every customer spends $5 in
same shop. It is very difficult to make BEA clearly because coffee shop sells many products and
each products are different prices and different section of the products.

Role Of Hr Development And Change Management Essay
ROLE OF HR IN DEVELOPMENT AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Development and Change Management is about people and their capacity to adapt to change. The
Human Resources department has a very vital role in any development and change management
program. There HR department has to ensure are first and foremost kept motivated all the time.
This facilitates smooth change towards development.
First, there is a need to recruit right and relevant people for the job. The attitude of these people
should be open and flexible geared towards thinking out of the box which can bring fresh
perspectives at the service of the company.
There is a constant need to look for people who can think non linearly and adopt unconventional
ways in working and achieving the goal. They need to be encouraged and empowered so that they
in turn become and act as change agents . This is a key element in achieving development and
change. The HR department should strive to mentor and nurture talent. There should be a constant

Television Is The Middle Of The Road, And Abc
I don t get much of an opportunity to watch the national news on the television (and never on
cable); but when I do, it s fairly easy to pick out which political slant each network is depicting. It
appears to me, and this is my opinion, that ABC, NBC and CNN lean pretty far left, CBS is
more the middle of the road, and FOX and its affiliates lean (fall over) to the right. I would guess
that, based upon my readings of other people s opinions of those broadcasters, that that is the
general consensus of the public. That being said, I do read more than I watch TV, and
sometimes it is just painfully obvious which way a particular news website or newspaper slants
their reporting. For example, I think one of the better newspapers as far as equal coverage of
both the left and right is USA Today. They do an excellent job of presenting both sides of most
arguments, and offer opinions that really make me angry sometimes, and some that I couldn t
agree with more. I think that s the definition of balance in the media, and I enjoy it the most.
There are others, however, that I read that pander to a specific political group; for example, the
Kansas City Star. It never fails that the KC Star virtually attacks the right wing of the Republican
party. They seem, to me, to be so impartial, that it takes away a great amount of their credibility;
and I lean left! Most of the news I get is via the internet; I have a selection of various websites that
I visit daily, and others that I follow on

Unknown Bacteria Observation
For the first day, I received my unknown bacteria number 110 and I stared to observe that tube.
The tube has normal color, creamy, and little bit cloudy. First, I made two new slants to get the
strong and alive bacteria for further text. One tube was incubated at 250C and other at 370C.
Next, I started to do my Gram Stain. After I finished the smear, heat fix, and cover the slide with
all chemical, I saw the pink color stick onto the slide. I knew that this bacterium is gram negative.
Then, I looked up the slide though the microscope form 10X 40X oil 100X. I saw the bacteria

bacteria had growth very strong. The result confirms one more time the unknown bacteria was
gram negative because the PEA plate inhibited DNA synthesis of gram negative so bacteria
could not grow on the PEA plate. On the other hand, EMB plate inhibited growth of gram positive

Examples Of Greed In Huckleberry Finn
Michelle Callahan November 5, 2014 ENGL 2328 6001 8W2 Violence and greed are two
themes that run rampant through all of Huckleberry Finn, driving the story along. Just when
you begin to think things have calmed down, something else happens to bring the themes back
into the picture and shatter the false sense of peace achieved by the slow float down the river.
The characters are impelled to continue living dangerously, despite the many other options
available to them, to try and improve their station in life. The violence and greed both come in
early on, and it s no surprise that the two are wrapped up together in a profound way. Huck s
dad, Pap, comes back into the picture, and the readers quickly find out that Huck has been
abused many times in the past. Huck recalls how his father hasn t been seen in a year and Huck
was just fine with that as Pap used to always whale [Huck] when he was sober and could get his
hands on [Huck] and Huck would have to hide out in the woods to get away from his father
(Twain 113). This skill ends up serving Huck well later, when he has to hide from many other
men who are representations of his father. Pap comes out of hiding, only because he heard that
his son had come into a large sum of money and he wants it for his own. He tells Huck that he
hain t heard nothing but about [Huck] bein rich. [Pap] heard about it away down the river too. That
s why [he] come, back to town. Pap wants the money so badly, that

A Rose For Emily And The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall
The sorrowful and unpredictable realization of denial and loss can slowly tear down even the
strongest willed individuals. In the twisting tales of A Rose for Emily and The Jilting of
Granny Weatherall the recurring theme of denial continuously reminds the reader that life is
precious and to never take anything for granted. William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily focuses
on the life and death of Emily Grierson. Although the story begins with her death, the details of
her life are revealed through several elements. Emily is ultimately jilted by the man she falls in
love with, Homer Barron, and poisons him to ensure a lifelong commitment. A similar theme
appears within Katherine Anne Porter s The Jilting of Granny Weatherall Ellen Weatherall, is on
her deathbed as the story begins. The narrator discusses Granny s life and the struggles she faced
in the past. As Granny lays upon her deathbed, she recalls all the things she has to do and all the
chores she has left undone. She also remarks the element of surprise at the fact that death has
come upon her. Not only do these two stories repeatedly use elements such as symbolism and
foreshadowing the authors create a relatively similar theme that not only delivers a powerful
message but is a timeless classic. Throughout the story, A Rose for Emily the narrator tells the story
from an unnamed narrator s perspective while sharing the town s feelings. This makes the reader
feel immersed in the town they are reading about

Henry Moore Two Large Forms Analysis
Two Large Forms
Every few decades there is a new form of art that is considered to be modern so it would be difficult
to say that I dislike modern art however, present day s rendition of modern art is something I am
definitely not a fan of. I say this because the problem of everything s been done before has surfaced
more than ever so artists nowadays are trying to create pieces of art that are a fine line away from
not being considered art at all, respectively seeing as Art is everything . I recently saw an art piece
a couple of years ago, at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and it was a sculpture of a pile of shoes. Now, I
m not prejudice to art but there has to be some sort of limitation to what is considered art and
what is considered last weeks trash, which brings me to the topic at hand, Two Large Forms by
Henry Moore. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, when I walked up to this sculpture my thoughts were the name of the piece pretty much
sums it up. Approaching the statues, they seem to just be large bronze masses on the corner of
McCaul street but, as any art should be looked at, I decided to dig deeper than the superficial.
The location is odd to me, mainly because the bronze forms are not alone in the corner of the
building, but are not really impacted by its surroundings. The trees behind the statue are dead
giving a desolate atmosphere invoking a sense of loneliness. Moreover, almost the entire area
surrounding the piece is solid concrete, giving a very penitential outlook. I m not sure if the
sculpture s initial approach is supposed to invoke miserable emotions but if so it does its job

Illegal Drugs And The United States
On June 18, 1971, United States President Richard Nixon declared a war on drugs. Since then the
United States has focused their efforts on the criminalization and prohibition of drug use,
possession, trafficking, sale, and the production of it. The issues pertaining to the War on Drugs
has become a bigger issue throughout the years due to the United States being the largest market
place for illegal drugs and substances. The United States has spent billions a year on drugwar
policies to help and try to discourage the production, distribution, and consumption of any drugs
that are found illegal in the United States. When it comes to drug use, efforts to lower the use
and flow of illegal drugs in the United States have yet to be succeeded. On the contrary, the use
and production of illegal drugs have only seemed to grow. Sadly, punitive laws have not reduced
the use or the availability of illegal drugs but have actually had collateral damage. Example of
said collateral damage is drug related violence, health epidemics, mass incarceration, and the
waste of law enforcement. Sadly, many have been murdered due to the act of violence between
criminal activity fighting over territory and or power made due to drug trade. Since 2000, the
amount of people living with HIV has tripled due to injecting drugs. In the last 30 years, prison
population, in the United States, has quadrupled and nearly a quarter of federal inmates are
convicted of drugs. Lastly, the amount of money being spent

It also can bring a lot of cons and complications. Some of the pros of becoming a DJ are the
minimal education requirements, training that is often on the job, and the possibility of
becoming a public figure. All of these are nice they can be very hard to balance with the cons.
Some cons such as the low median salary (around 30,000 a year). Or the fact that radio stations
stay open 24 hours so there is no guaranteed work time for any employee. One other big con is
the heavy competition for available jobs. Everyone wants to become a radio broadcaster due to

When you launch up into the air, slide the side of your foot up the board like you do in a regular

with your front foot. The motion is like flicking something away with the back of your hand that

you drag your front foot up the board, right? Well, instead of stopping, continue the drag toward
the heel edge corner of your deck. Using the top of your toes, flick the board. The motion of your
foot should be out and a little down. Be careful not to just kick the skateboard down your foot

motion to be both down and out back behind you. It s called a flick because the action is quick

Why It Happened One Night
The film It Happened One Night first appeared in movie theaters in 1934. It was not recorded in
color, the film is black and white and takes place around the same time as it was filmed mid 1930 s.
When it was released the film was accepted with high praise partly for the story and also for the
acting
done by some of Hollywood s finest at the time. During the Film Ellie Andrews played by Claudette

The suit is likely made up of cotton and the tie of silk. However the
dress that Ellie Andrews purchases in the station off of some women she meets looks soft and

The difference in income level between the two characters is large. Although both characters spend
most of their time together in a bus and in cheap living spaces there are short moments where the
film
shows where the characters belong. In the beginning of the film Ellie Andrews spends her time
being
held hostage by her father on a yacht. This first scene shows her living on a big yacht with servants
that
bring her food and tend to her every need. Peter Warne on the other hand spends his time in the
newspaper station he works at. For the most part the sets in the film are small and do not allow for
much space to move. For example when the characters are on the bus there is hardly an opportunity
for
them to sit next to each other. Even the hotels they stay in is just small enough for the two of them to
live in.
The film It Happened One Night was shot both in a studio and on location this can be seen
throughout the film. Most of the scenes where the characters are indoors such as the hotels they stay

sooner. The CPU takes the billions of lines of code in each program, reads it all and translates it
all into the programs we see on the screen. That is what the CPU does. While all of these parts of
the computer are fascinating, the really shocking part is how they all seamlessly work together to
make up the computer. When I opened Microsoft Word to write this paper the RAM took the
program off the hard drive and the CPU took the program s binary code and translated it into what

Truck Drivers
Truck drivers or truckers are considered transporters because their work entails driving container
loads of various products to designated locations. Trucking companies ensure that people living in
remote areas get the supplies they need for daily living. This means truck drivers put in long hours,
face season changes the best way that they can and brave the rather insecure nature of their trade to
meet their deadlines.
Qualifications for Truck Driving
1.CDL For you to apply for trucking company jobs you must acquire a Commercial Driver s
License (CDL) which permits you to operate a commercial motor vehicle. Commercial motor
vehicles weigh 26, 000 pounds or higher while the vehicle in tow should weigh more than 10,000
pounds. A more inclusive definition of commercial motor vehicles incorporates school buses,
vehicles carrying sixteen or more passengers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If your CDL classification is Class A, you need your own insurance because you will most probably
qualify for local truck driving company jobs. Class B and C CDL may guarantee you CDL trucking
jobs like driving a tour bus or school bus and your employer may provide insurance as a work
benefit which is an advantage.
3.Physique There is physical labor involved while working for trucking company jobs such as
loading and unloading of supplies and fixing small mechanical problems that arise while you are on
the road. It would be prudent to ensure you prepare your body through lifting weights and strength
training.
Types of Trucking Company Jobs
You can choose from various trucking company jobs such as a heavy tractor trailer truck driver
with a high school education and a CDL or an oil field truck driver, who sometimes hauls
hazardous materials and attracts a higher salary due to the dangerous nature of the work.
Other truck driving jobs include:
Over The Road (OTR) or Long Haul

The Destructors Quote And Destruction
Graham Greene was an English author. Graham Greene was the author of the novel, The
Destructors. Within the novel is the quote, and destruction after all is a form of creation. The quote
is a rare one, putting such differences with one another to make the idea seem confusing. In all
reality, the quote is quite simple. Humans are a prime example of creation from destruction.
Humans go through many emotional conflict throughout their lives. There comes a time in nearly
every person s life in which they feel worthless. This feeling is destruction of the human mind.
Many people go through a lengthy stage of depression. Although the destruction may take years to
occur, the destruction can always be overcome. Many people experience change

Social Responsibility Of Boeing
Boeing is the largest aerospace company and the largest manufactor of commercial and military
aircraft in the world. Boeings military aircraft come equipped with missiles, satellite, launch
vehicles and advanced information and communication systems. Boeing is the number one U.S.
exporter when it comes to sales. Boeing s management must understand the importance of the legal,
ethical and social responsibilityof their organizations. All of the above mentioned will have an
effect on the planning function of management.
Legal Issues
Some of the legal regulations Boeing encounters are antitrust regulations and foreign trade
regulations. The government can influence a company s strategy by the laws the government
imposes. A company has a legal responsibility to follow all government regulations. Boeing will
also have to pay attention to environmental laws and copyright and patent laws. Boeing must also
pay attention to impositions that other countries may put on the airline industry. Boeing must
respond appropriately to other countries political and economic environment. The biggest legal
responsibility Boeing faces is the safety of their passengers. When an airplane crashes without
being manipulated by outside factors it is always the responsibility of the airline. The airline will
be responsible for paying out any compensatory damages to the surviving family members.

Essay on Music and It s Influence
Music and it s influence
It is no doubt that music has played a vital role in our society. Everything from loud, head banging
concerts to religious ceremonies have utilized the medium of music because of its awe inspiring
qualities. Music is basically the control of sound. We can control this sound by varying the pitch,
tempo, octaves, dynamics and so on. There are thousands of ways that we can use music and to
shape it to how we want to hear it. But how much has music influenced the way we think today?
Why is it so popular?
Music dates right back to the prehistoric eras where primitive instruments were constructed using
items like bone and wood. These primitive musicians would not have known many of the modern
terms such as octaves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we see a film about a jungle, normally the soundtrack is composed of instruments like bongos or
shakers. This is because we instantly associate this sort of music with jungles and indigenous tribes.
So whilst some parts of the world stayed traditionalist, other parts were taking music to the next
step. Western cultures have used music for almost every aspect of life. Music was used for
entertainment, religion, war cries and important ceremonies. Some countries have unfortunately
lost their culture and heritage thanks to more developed countries trying to expand their empires. A
good example of this is when the indigenous Mexican people were murdered in their homeland by
the invading Spanish and replaced the traditional drums and flutes with more vibrant shakers and
trumpets. It is no doubt that the way upper countries have acted has greatly affected the distribution
of music worldwide.
I m sure you ll all agree when I say that music is changing very fast. It s either that or we keep
changing our tastes in music every five minutes which is far more probable. Today if someone
put on a record from just 10 20 years ago we d probably think of that music as being incredibly old
or very simple. I don t know about you, but I can t stand to watch some (if not most) of the early
Top of the Pops because the music is so old. We think of this as being old, but in

Only people who need to get into the closet should have access to use the biometrics and keycard
system. Another part of access control is to have encryption and decryption of the drives. The
hard drives should have been encrypted to protect the information from unauthorized access.
Part of the integrity is to protect the health information which also include encryption and the
hard drives should have been locked safe rather in the open for anyone to be able to remove the
hard drives whom could access the closet. The hard drives should have been moved to the new
location where the hard drives would be available to be used by authorized staff as long as the
new location met the access controls requirements by HIPAA. BCBST had to take corrective
actions to prevent unauthorized access to health information. BCBST had to revise the policies
and procedures to ensure health information is protected. The information had to be given to the
employees of BCBST to inform employees of the changed and consequences of what could

Basketball Is The Most Popular And Beloved Sports Essay
Basketball is one of the most popular and beloved sports that is played today. Michael Jordan who
played for the Washington Wizards and the Chicago Bulls once said, Just play, have fun, and enjoy
the game. (cite here) Whether playing with friends for fun or by professionals for entertainment or
simply watching from home, basketballis a sport that is enjoyed all over the world. Beginning with
an unique history, basketball has evolved over time from a simple idea into a professional career
choice for those with the unique skillset.
During the winter of 1892 in a town in Massachusetts a physical education teacher, Dr. James
Naismith, at a YMCA school created a game where young men could play indoors instead of
going outside in the freezing cold. The teacher and inventor of the game name was Dr. James
Naismith. To get prepared for the game, Dr. Naismith came up with some rules for the game,
gathered two peach baskets for hoops and a soccer ball and he coached the first basketball game in
history.
Dr. Naismith came up with thirteen rules. While four out of the thirteen rules that he came up with
no longer are followed in today s version of basketball, the nine that are left were slightly modified
and are still in use today.
The original thirteen rules are as follows:
The ball can be thrown with both hands in any direction.
The player can not run with the ball, so they have to throw it where they caught it from.
The ball can be batted in any direction not with the fist

Suffering In Megumi Nakane s Obasan
The pain of suffering cannot be healed by suppressing and trying to forget the memories of
traumatic events. Rather, it must be overcome by remembering and accepting the past. At the
beginning of Obasan, Megumi Naomi Nomi Nakane, raised in silence by her aunt, Obasan, and her
Uncle Isamu, is a wordless woman who tries to forget the suffering and ignore the mysteries of her
painful past. However throughout the story, Naomi, with the help of her Aunt Emily, revisits her
childhood and discovers the truth of her family s suffering and her mother s fate. Ultimately, she
comes to terms with her past as well as her mother s silence and absence. In Obasan, Naomi, through
learning about and remembering her past, changes from an uninformed, silent... Show more content

Upon discovering how her mother had suffered, Naomi realizes that her own silent suffering and
her attempt to forget her past only harmed her. Our wordlessness was our mutual destruction.
(Kogawa 267). She acknowledges that hiding from and not communicating about her traumatic
experiences as her mother had done caused her to carry an emotional burden alone throughout
her childhood and adulthood. Although Naomi is still pained by the disfigurement and death of
her mother, she is able to overcome the feeling of disconnectedness from her mother due to her
disappearance. But perhaps it is because I am no longer a child I can know your presence
though you are not there, (Kogawa 267). She is capable of understanding that her mother loved
her although she is not there, and that her lack of communication was a silence of love and
protectiveness rather than a form of rejection or abandonment. On a positive note, Naomi realizes
that grief is not permanent. The song of mourning is not a lifelong song. (Kogawa 270). She
declares that sorrow is not eternal, rather it is only temporary and can be overcome. Naomi finally
embraces and accepts her past and her mother s death as well as her other loved ones

Brutus In Shakespeare s Julius Ceasar
Why, sir, [I m] a carpenter (1,i,6). This line from Shakespeare s Julius Caesar is certainly one of
the most innocent ones. Say that to anyone you find and they will either think you re actually a
carpenter or find themselves extremely, though harmlessly, confused. Say Why, sir, I m Brutus
and people will instantly brand you a traitor. This is exactly how Dante classified Brutus in his
epic poem Inferno, along with fellow Caesar killer Cassius. In Inferno, a fictionalized Dante is
led by the poet Virgil into the nine layers of Hell. Brutus and Cassius are in the ninth and last
layer, reserved for traitors. They, along with Judas Iscariot, are continually gnawed at by Lucifer,
who is encased in ice. While both Brutus and Cassius both betrayed... Show more content on

Brutus described Caesar s killing after the fact as if he was describing an assisted suicide that
they and just carried out, saying So are we Caesar s friends, that have abridged/His time of
fearing death (3.1.115 6). It seems that by this quote, death was always on Caesar s mind. He
also justified the murder to the public by saying, Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved
Rome more (3.ii.23). Considering the above, it seems that either Brutus was lying, or that he had
a weak love to Rome, and even more so to Caesar. If Brutus truly loved Rome more, he would
have accepted guidance from the more experienced. Clearly, Brutus was not motivated to kill
Caesar because of his love of

  • 2. Safe Sex No Regrets Campaign Essay Northern Territory Government Safe Sex, No Regrets Media Campaign Australia has been experiencing increased rates of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) over the past ten years as a direct result of unsafe sex practises (ABS Australian Social Trends, Jun 2012). These infections are some of the most common illnesses worldwide affecting the health and wellbeing of people infected, particularily women in regards to their fertility (Gerbase, Rowley, heymann et, al 1998). Northern Territory Health (2008) along with the other Australian states have identified that the age group at being most at risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections is people aged between 15 and 29. The National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (2010) received reports that the predominant sexually transmissible infections during 2010 were Chlamydia and syphilis. It has been established that the 15 to 29 year age group have the highest rates of infection and this is continually increasing (Wilkins amp; Mak 2005). Research carried out by Stancombe Research amp; Planning (2008) have confirmed that people falling into this age group not only show higher rates of infection of STIs but also have limited knowledge of correct safe sex practice. These findings brought to the forefront that the awareness of STIs was extremely low, particularly amongst the younger population bringing to attention that education about the harm associated with STIs was and is crucial, along with informed structural strategies that help reduce the risks, if changing beliefs and attitudes in regards to improved sexual health are to be achieved. Undiagnosed and untreated sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have negative health outcomes for both individuals involved and the community (Strobel amp; Ward 2012). Higher costs to medical services are a direct result from complications such as infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease and cervical cancer caused by STIs. Risks need to be brought to the wider communities attention and messages that STIs contribute to the mortality statistics through deaths associated with AIDS, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Debt and Usury Case Usury History and Background To begin my research, I wanted to get a clear understanding of just exactly what usury was and how it came about. The word usury is derived from both the Medieval Latin word usuria, meaning interest or excessive interest , and from the Latin word usura, which simply means interest. At that point in time, the definition of usurymeant the charging of interest on loans, but over time after the legislation of countries to limit the rate of interest on loans, the definition of usury came to mean the interest above the lawful rate. As it stands today, usury would be found to mean the charging of unreasonable or relatively high rates of interest. The practice of usury can be traced back over four... Adam Smith, who was considered the Father of the Free market Capitalism and known for his general advocacy of laissez fair economics, however, was strongly in support of controlling usury (Jadlow, 1977; Levy, 1987). While he didn t want to completely exclude interest, he was in favor of the imposition of an interest rate ceiling (Smith, 1937). Another reformist was Silvio Gesell, a successful nineteenth century merchant in Germany and Argentina, who condemned interest on the basis that his sales were more often related to the pride of money than people s needs or the quality of his products (Gesell, 1904). His proposal of making money a public service subject to a use fee led to widespread experimentation in Austria, France, Germany, Spain Switzerland, and the United States under the banner of the so called stamp script movement , but these initiatives were all squashed when their success began to threaten the national banking monopolies (Kennedy, 1995). Usury Law Generally, usury law is used for the most part in the handling of consumer credit cases that involve the statutes and regulations which limit the charges that creditors may assess when extending credit to consumers. There are many statutes and regulations which restrict credit charges. The oldest of these are referred to as general usury statutes which are established to set the maximum rate of interest that can be charged in any loan transaction in a ... • 4. Shakespeare and Plagiarism Essay Shakespeare and Plagiarism William Shakespeare is one of the world s greatest playwrights; however, some say that he does not fully deserve the credit for his work because he plagiarized the work of others. Shakespeare, who was born in Stratford upon Avon in 1564, is also known as the Bard and has written countless plays and poems which have given rise to several novels and movie plots (Chandy). It is said that he found most of his inspiration from nature, as he mentions birds in his works more than any other author (Mabillard). There is not enough evidence to prove that Shakespeare did not plagiarize, nor is there enough to prove that he did. However, from what is known, he did nothing that could get him the knowledge needed to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some people still like to argue the fact that Shakespeare was not wealthy had a lack of education and would have had a difficult time writing such elaborate works without help (wheeler). There are several people who are believed to be the real William Shakespeare including Sir Francis Bacon, the Earl of Oxford, the Earl of Essex, Christopher Marlowe and Queen Elizabeth I herself (Mabillard). This is mainly due to the fact that during the time of Shakespeare these were highly educated and popular people. Also, there are some theories which state that Shakespeare is really just an out of town actor who took the credit for countless works done by other authors and playwrights (did Shakespeare actually write all his plays), and there is a record of him acting in front of Queen Elizabeth in 1594 (Chandy). The main reason that these people believed to be the real Shakespeare, is Shakespeare lacks the background, education, and breeding in order to write such great plays and poems. William Shakespeare could possibly just be a political cover up for a politician or a nobleman. A nobleman could have written the plays but the plays were meant to be read as political commentary, with each character corresponding on a one to one basis with real political figures ... Cinematic Techniques In American Beauty I utilize two scenes from the movie American Beauty, the two office scenes including Lester (Kevin Spacey) and Brad (Barry Del Sherman). The cinematic techniques are identified with mise en scene, which is the term used to portray everything put into the scene . I concentrate on decor, lighting and props, costumes, body language (e.g., posture, gestures and facial expressions) and composition. I additionally take a gander at how these components are confined as far as camera stature, camera point and camera separate, all of which fall under the class of cinematography. The stylistic layout uncovers what sort of association Lester works for, one that sucks the life and light out of its representatives. As far as sythesis, the surrounding of the shot is terrible too. Lester is situated in the middle base of the casing, which is a bizarre place to put the primary subject. There is to an extreme degree a lot of headroom above him, his feet appear to be removed, a roof light bulges down into the highest point of the casing. It is an appalling shot in a dim, revolting room; it serves as a visual appearance of Lester s discontent and unease. Here the shot is a mid shot, and Brad possesses an expansive bit of the edge. The low edge mid shot accentuates his energy, particularly when compared with the high point wide shot of Lester that we just took a gander at. At the point when Brad stands up, the low edge shot is further stressed. Outwardly, Brad is displayed as being prevailing. His stance his straight, he is more youthful, he is dressed all the more stylishly and his outward appearances uncover pomposity and disdain. • 6. Analysis Of Tim O Brien s Going After The Paul in Wonderland: Reality vs. Fantasy in Tim O Brien s Going After Cacciato On the surface, Tim O Brien s 1978 novel Going After Cacciato seems like a typical telling of the Vietnam War from the perspective of one of the soldiers as the Third Squad searches for Cacciato, a soldier who has gone AWOL. However, a closer reading would reveal that the vast majority of the novel does not actually take place in reality. This search for Cacciato is a fantasy which takes place in Paul Berlin s head, and the scenarios and even the Vietnamese people who aid the Third Squad are completely fictitious. Only in a handful of chapters does the novel take place in reality, and even fewer of these chapters takes place in one which is permanent. Reading the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The terminology parts unknown is frequently used in fairy tales and other stories in the genre of fantasy, especially as a representation of a good place. The fact that they are currently fighting a war in Vietnam, along with knowledge that Vietnam was once a colony of France, juxtaposes Paris with the term parts unknown , as Paris can be seen similarly to the soldiers fighting the war as the Emerald City is seen in any of the books in the Oz series. The other chapter that takes place on the battlefield in a permanent reality is chapter 46, the last chapter of the novel. One noticeable comparison between this chapter and the first chapter is that they both share the same name: Going After Cacciato . This shows that they are both parts of the same scene, where Doc tells Corson the news about Cacciato going AWOL. In this regard, the novel seems to have finally come around full circle as Paul Berlin fully reenters reality after the fantasy of the Third Squad chasing Cacciato across multiple continents. The beginning of the novel has become the end. This is even supported by a summary which occurs early in this chapter. Her smile when she first saw the...of refuge. Such a fine idea. (325). It was the summer of 2014 when I went to Hawaii, and I was so excited because I love traveling and I had always wanted to go there. There is a six hour time difference which was hard to get used to because we ended up landing in Hawaiiat what would have been four in the morning in Ohio. Before we landed in Hawaii, the vacation did not start off very well. We knew we did not have much time anyways; but after the delay, we thought we would miss the only flight to Hawaii that night. When we were finally able to get off the plane, a girl around the age of twenty five who was on the flight was yelling at everyone and trying to push everyone out of the way so she could get out first. She ended up getting off the plane before us even though she was sitting in the very back. Because of this, we could not find my brother when we got into the airport. • 10. The Literary Works Of Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson was, and still is, considered to be one of the massive figures of American Literature ( Soul ). For a writing, or any piece of literature to be great, Dickinson believed it needed to include great amount of precise descriptions, describing every little detail. It also had to be written from the heart of real life experiences and emotions. If a writinghas these characteristics it could be recognized as a crucial piece in American Literature. All of her phenomenal work was discovered later after her death, and published posthumously. Dickinson first began writing as a teenager, and continued throughout her life, while being confined to the Homestead in Amherst, Massachusetts. After dying at the age of fifty five of kidney disease, her sister, Lavinia, discovered her poems. Lavinia shared them with the world, for all to see, and Dickinson s voice escalated becoming very important to the literary works of not only the twentieth century, but also the centuries to follow. She may have lived a quiet life, but through her literary works the world was able to see within the true emotions and significant life experiences of Emily Dickinson. Emily Dickinson is best known for the three hundred poems she composed in one year, 1862 ( Soul ). • 11. Cross Cultural Communication And Cultural Differences When people think of business, rarely do we associate culture with the concept. This leads to an issue in cross cultural communication. By analyzing cross cultural communication, and its miscommunication in cultural differences, it is clear that employees should know more of a country s defining culture. Only recently have we seen an emphasis in understanding other country s cultures. In doing so, some businesses have prospered, while others have suffered after a terrible miscommunication. When dealing with culture, there are three segments that an employee should consider. What can be done before, during and after contact is made with the culture. In effectively preparing for one, a business may successfully send the message they wish to their client. Before even beginning communications, an individual should research the culture. When researching the culture, individuals should identify and understand normal business patterns in that location. This may include doing work before communication is started. For instance, in other cultures it is customary for a friendship to develop before communications may begin. In attempting to be on a friendly basis, clients may be more forgiving if a cultural mistake is made. While in other cultures, giving a gift before a negotiation takes place is normal. Lastly if possible the individual should be aware of the current state of affairs in the opposing nation to avoid sensitive subjects. This all depends on the culture though that is ... This was a drastic downfall in the price of gold in 2008 and this has directly affected investors in a number of ways. The investors suffered losses of large margin and in addition to this, many of the investors had paid from ten to fifty percent of the deposits of their shares and when a downfall occurred in the prices of gold, many of the investors lost almost whole amount of their capital. Television Is The Middle Of The Road, And Abc I don t get much of an opportunity to watch the national news on the television (and never on cable); but when I do, it s fairly easy to pick out which political slant each network is depicting. It appears to me, and this is my opinion, that ABC, NBC and CNN lean pretty far left, CBS is more the middle of the road, and FOX and its affiliates lean (fall over) to the right. I would guess that, based upon my readings of other people s opinions of those broadcasters, that that is the general consensus of the public. That being said, I do read more than I watch TV, and sometimes it is just painfully obvious which way a particular news website or newspaper slants their reporting. For example, I think one of the better newspapers as far as equal coverage of both the left and right is USA Today. They do an excellent job of presenting both sides of most arguments, and offer opinions that really make me angry sometimes, and some that I couldn t agree with more. I think that s the definition of balance in the media, and I enjoy it the most. There are others, however, that I read that pander to a specific political group; for example, the Kansas City Star. It never fails that the KC Star virtually attacks the right wing of the Republican party. The characters are impelled to continue living dangerously, despite the many other options available to them, to try and improve their station in life. Huck recalls how his father hasn t been seen in a year and Huck was just fine with that as Pap used to always whale [Huck] when he was sober and could get his hands on [Huck] and Huck would have to hide out in the woods to get away from his father (Twain 113). I say this because the problem of everything s been done before has surfaced more than ever so artists nowadays are trying to create pieces of art that are a fine line away from not being considered art at all, respectively seeing as Art is everything . I recently saw an art piece a couple of years ago, at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and it was a sculpture of a pile of shoes. The location is odd to me, mainly because the bronze forms are not alone in the corner of the building, but are not really impacted by its surroundings. The trees behind the statue are dead giving a desolate atmosphere invoking a sense of loneliness. Moreover, almost the entire area surrounding the piece is solid concrete, giving a very penitential outlook. In 2014 almost everyone has some kind of computer, whether it is a desktop, a laptop, a tablet or smartphone we all use these devices every day to make our lives easier. What most of us do not know is what is inside of these devices, things like RAM, the binary system, the CPU and different kinds of memory are all included in each of these devices. In this paper I will describe the functions and relationships of different parts of the computer. The RAM, or random access memory, is sometimes called the brain of the computer. The RAM is where everything you are working on at a given point in time is stored. The RAM is the brain of the computer because it remembers everything you are working on at the present time (conscience) and it can... Each section resembles one character, the code above writes out Hello World! Now that we have a language for the computer to understand, and we saw how much code is needed to write a simple sentence, how exactly will the computer process millions if not billions of these strings in a timely manner? The computer s CPU or central processing unit does just that. The CPU is a little chip that does a big job. It takes all of the binary code for a program and shoots it out onto the screen in the language that we can understand. The CPU takes billions of lines of binary code and grinds it out in seconds. How long does it take you to pen Microsoft Word, or the internet on your computer? For me it takes maybe a second if not sooner. The CPU takes the billions of lines of code in each program, reads it all and translates it all into the programs we see on the screen. That is what the CPU does. While all of these parts of the computer are fascinating, the really shocking part is how they all seamlessly work together to make up the computer. When I opened Microsoft Word to write this paper the RAM took the program off the hard drive and the CPU took the program s binary code and translated it into what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If we see a film about a jungle, normally the soundtrack is composed of instruments like bongos or shakers. This is because we instantly associate this sort of music with jungles and indigenous tribes. So whilst some parts of the world stayed traditionalist, other parts were taking music to the next step. Western cultures have used music for almost every aspect of life. Music was used for entertainment, religion, war cries and important ceremonies. Some countries have unfortunately lost their culture and heritage thanks to more developed countries trying to expand their empires. A good example of this is when the indigenous Mexican people were murdered in their homeland by the invading Spanish and replaced the traditional drums and flutes with more vibrant shakers and trumpets. It is no doubt that the way upper countries have acted has greatly affected the distribution of music worldwide. I m sure you ll all agree when I say that music is changing very fast. It s either that or we keep changing our tastes in music every five minutes which is far more probable. Today if someone put on a record from just 10 20 years ago we d probably think of that music as being incredibly old or very simple. Although Naomi is still pained by the disfigurement and death of her mother, she is able to overcome the feeling of disconnectedness from her mother due to her disappearance. But perhaps it is because I am no longer a child I can know your presence though you are not there, (Kogawa 267). On a positive note, Naomi realizes that grief is not permanent. The song of mourning is not a lifelong song. (Kogawa 270). Say that to anyone you find and they will either think you re actually a carpenter or find themselves extremely, though harmlessly, confused. Say Why, sir, I m Brutus and people will instantly brand you a traitor. This is exactly how Dante classified Brutus in his epic poem Inferno, along with fellow Caesar killer Cassius. In Inferno, a fictionalized Dante is led by the poet Virgil into the nine layers of Hell. Brutus and Cassius are in the ninth and last layer, reserved for traitors.
