Exclusionary Rule Case Study
Even though, the exclusionary rule was established to miss illegally seized evidence in court there are
several exceptions that allow illegally seized evidence to be presented in trial. The exceptions include
the good faith exception, the plain view doctrine, clerical error exception, emergency searches of
property/emergency entry, impeachment, independent source, the inevitable discovery, the harmless
error exception, and the rule of attenuation. A good faith exception is when an officer acts in good
faith and believes that the evidence discovered complies with the persons fourth amendment rights.
There are three court cases that helped mold and established the good faith exception. In the first court
case is U.S. v. Leon, an informant had

Ergonomics Awareness On The Construction Industry
Abstract Ergonomics is a significant factor in reducing discomfort/pain of worker and is one of the
procedures that eliminate the hazards and risk in construction industry. This study was conducted on
Bridge site, Godavari River at Nashik. The aim of this study is to assess and understand the level of
ergonomics awareness in the construction industry and to identify current applications about
ergonomics practices. The method used in collecting the data is by choosing different sites and
observing task of workers with the help of videos and Interviews. The task selected for the analysis
was lifting and handling the reinforcement. The majority of these injuries are due to overexertion in
lifting and carrying heavy reinforcement materials. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Invisible Man Analysis
In the book Invisible Man, it is based in a time period where there is somewhat of a divide between
blacks and whites, and because of this lifestyle that was created by society, the main character is
caught in the crossfire. The narrator feeling invisible in this world dominated by whites, where he
feels he doesn t belong, and is frankly, invisible. The narrator goes to several different parts of the
country to use what many people admire about him, his voice. Not in a singing way but in a form of
speeches which helps bring attention to some of the societal issues and that not only he has but what
many have encountered just like him along their life s journey. During his experiences in New York
and finding his way, he is cut out from certain things that tie him back to his version of home, some
people, specifically Brother Jack, Mr. Norton, and Dr. Bledsoe and some experiences made it difficult
to feel like he was where he belonged, alienating him from certain realms of society. The narrator
faces many struggles in the beginning of the book that lead to the idea of exile and the fact that the
narrator is perhaps, invisible. Dr. Bledsoe does a good job of manipulating the narrator into thinking
he is welcomed at the University early on. You can tell from his personality that he is only in it for
himself but acts as though he is thoughtful towards other. You re nobody, son. You don t exist can t
you see that? The white folk tell everybody what to think except men like me. I tell them; that s my
life, telling white folk how to think about the things I know about... But you listen to me: I didn t make
it, and I know that I can t change it. But I ve made my place in it and I ll have every Negro in the
country hanging on tree limbs by morning if it means staying where I am. Sending the narrator off to
New York was his manipulative way of saying you re not welcome here, and giving him seven letters
was just the icing on the cake to making finding success more difficult. The narrator is unable to see
that Dr. Bledsoe is solely doing this for his own benefit and is not looking at the interest of the
narrator. Towards the beginning of the book, we meet a character who is very old school, and as
people say. a

Melissa Mccarthy In Mccarthy s Films
The Melissa McCarthy train keeps churning as the immensely talented breakout actress has now fully
shed that interim tag and officially become the queen of the comedy genre. Comparable to Bill Murray
or Chris Farley in their heydays, McCarthy is not only the queen of her respective genre, but also the
king, the dictator, and whatever other high standing position you can think of. True, not all of
McCarthy s films are memorable (especially Tammy and Identity Theft), yet tremendous
performances in films that include Spy, Bridesmaids, and The Heat, easily subdue and negate the less
than stellar performances. But, where does her latest role in the R Rated comedy, The Boss, sit on her
ever growing résumé? In the Boss, directed by Ben Falcone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But, don t look to either one for humor as Bell, who doesn t appear to have a humorous bone in her
body, portrays the serious mother, all the while Dinklage plays a seemingly dry, obsessive ex lover of
Michelle.
To a degree, the vast majority of McCarthy s roles are silly but at least most of them have substance
and purpose. The Boss, written by McCarthy and her husband (and director), Ben Falcone, is
completely devoid of a meaningful plot, though relying far too much on petty, showboating antics (the
opening sequence is a perfect example) that obviously attempt to sugarcoat the fact that there is
absolutely no point to this story, whatsoever.
Again, when you re having little girls brawl on the street a scene which mimics something straight out
of an Anchorman film (minus the cameos), it s basically waving a sign of desperation to those
watching. Plus, it doesn t help the cause when your lead character is horribly unlikable person (I
wonder if Michelle was based on Donald Trump?). Michelle is a wealthy degenerate that loses her
fortune, yet it s hard to care if she ever recoups it or if she finds the warm embrace that was absent

Shel Silverstein The Giving Tree Analysis
The Giving tree by Shel Silverstein is an elementary level children s book with illustrations. The book
is about a young boy and his relationship with a tree throughout his life. The tree is always giving him
something to make him happy and fulfill his needs. The tree never complains and is always happy to
help the boy. As the boy grows older he finds different uses for the tree. At the beginning of the story,
the young boy and the tree are very close but as he gets older he grows apart from the tree and only
visits when he s in need of something. I personally love this book a lot. This story can have many
different messages because each person can interpret the message in their own way and theres so
many different possibilities. I feel that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This line also makes me feel anxious and a little sad because i feel that the tone foreshadows sorrow.
As the story goes on it in fact is a little sad because the young boy decided to go on and discover
bigger, better things in life and he always forgets about the tree that loves him so much. This reminds
me of when kids are in their teens years, how we are too busy trying to fit in amongst our peers and try
new things. We are so caught up in other activities that we tend to forget about our parents and we
give more importance to other things and end up taking our parents for granted. Regardless of how the
boy neglects the tree that anxiously waits for him daily, the tree never holds a grudge because of how
strong the love is. The tree is always so excited to see the boy whenever he visits but the boy doesn t
feel the same way. Come Boy, come and climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and eat
apples and play in my shade and be happy! I am too big to climb and play said the boy. He always
asked the tree for something each time he visits and without hesitation the tree gives him every part of
itself but the young boy is still never

Jack Kerouac s The Dharma Bums
Jack Kerouac is known for his unique writing style of spontaneous prose to tell stories of his own life
experiences. This fast paced style not only catches the attention of his readers, but gives a depiction of
Kerouac as a person. Kerouac s novel, The Dharma Bums, depicts the importance of pragmatism both
in the novel and in Kerouac s life through his non conformity and simplistic ways along with his
spontaneity and sexual conflict. Ray Smith stands out as a bit of a rebel with his non conformist ways
just like Kerouac. Quick to move on to different experiences and meet new people, Ray travels the
country. Kerouac starts off the novel with his non conformist ways as Ray is seen hopping a freight
out of Los Angeles (3) and he heads for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He even calls his writing style spontaneous prose. So of course Ray is going to have the same attitude.
Ray often feels at home with children and dogs because of their simple and innocent outlooks on the
world. Kids and dogs simply love to exist and have a good time with all their experiences. When
climbing to Matterhorn Peak, Japhy and Ray are making the final ascent and Ray suddenly becomes
afraid saying, This is too high (Kerouac, 83). However, by watching Japhy jumping up the mountain
and reaching the top, Kerouac realizes that it is better to simply jump right in and experience
something instead of worrying about it. Kerouac himself took many spontaneous trips. In a letter to
Lenrow, Kerouac describes one of his trips as a tremendous trip though a little out of focus, as they
say about sprawling novels (70). Kerouac would even be so spontaneous as to withdraw from one of
Lenrow s classes to work on his novel, On The Road. He even goes as far as to tell Lenrow that he
suddenly packed one night and went (78). When Kerouac has a thought, he is quick to act upon it.
This is why Ray admires Japhy so much and is willing to take part in his spontaneous adventures such
as climbing a

The Causes And Consequences Of The Vocide Of Native Americans
Christopher Columbus was a man who led an expedition in which he discovered the lands of America
in the late 1400s. He and his fellow Europeans had traveled to different lands before where they
overthrew native peoples with a mission to spread their own religion and an attitude of superiority.
The Indians had never before encountered people of a different culture. Although the two parties were
of the same species, they were vastly different in language, clothing, technology, and lifestyle. When
the Spaniards first arrived, they were unthreatened by the Indians and looked at them with a strong
sense of condescension. The Indians, on the other hand, welcomed these strangers and bestowed
generous gifts upon them. The Spanish thought the Indians were foolish and were not as generous in
their reciprocation of such gifts. However as the encounter progressed, the Spaniards became more
threatened by the Indians. Because of this, they antagonize the entire race of people. They believe they
are all evil and less human. They respond to their actions with great violence and contempt, while
stripping the Indians of their dignity. The Indians, in turn, react defensively, also with violence
(Todorov). After decades of conflict, the exchange ultimately results in the complete genocide of the
Indian population. In this particular encounter, there exists two parties, both of the same species but
with great differences. There is also one party, the Spaniards, aware of the others existence and that
actively pursued this encounter. The Indians, however, were unaware that other societies and worlds
existed beyond their own and were sabotaged by the surprise arrival of the Europeans. The
conquistadors had previous encounters with other people different from their own. From these prior
experiences, they had expectations to come to America and use its resources and people to their own
advantage. They had also already established through previous endeavors, that groups and races of
people different from their own could not be seen as equals. They identify these groups as Others, that
are inferior and less intelligent (Todorov). This already creates a dilemma referred to as the double
movement. If Columbus and the Europeans sought

Seven Steps to Solving the Housing Crisis
The crisis that America has found herself in, to be completely blunt and honest, all revolves around
stupidity and bad choices. American citizens that had absolutely no business even thinking of buying a
house flooded the market and were encouraged by greedy bankers that were out to make a profit,
without thinking of the consequences or morals involved. Now the government has over stepped their
boundaries and are spending this country into such deep debt, which makes one think that that light at
the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train with no hope of slowing down, let alone stopping. The
solution to this economic crisis is outlined in seven easy baby steps: 1. America needs to create a small
emergency fund (at least a million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Houses would be paid for, jobs would open up, the stock market would probably not shift as much as
it does, welfare programs would become obsolete, over 70% of Americans would stop living pay
check to pay check, and everyone would retire with dignity. Everyone could get themselves educated,
which would make us all winners, and broke people would stop buying houses that they can t afford.
If everyone bought houses that they could afford then there would be no more foreclosures; especially
if everyone had an emergency fund to give them an alternative if something happened. If businesses
weren t built on debt, especially sole proprietorships, then businesses wouldn t have to lay a bunch of
people off or cut down productivity. America needs to save to help take care of her people and
Americans need to take care of themselves so that we all win in the end.
Lastly, America needs to build a bunch of wealth and give a bunch of it away. This concept is for the
government and her people because when one gives and it becomes a habit, that person is forever
changed. It reminds them that it s not all about them. It s not about getting a bunch of stuff that they
can t afford to impress people that they don t even like. It s about taking care of your neighbor; it s
about being a selfless person and nation in a selfless world. America needs to invest in herself again,
because the best invest one

Thunder and Early Scientific Theory Essay
Thunder and Early Scientific Theory
It lends its name to one of the most common weather phenomenon on Earth the thunderstorm and its
associated elements: the thunderhead, thunder cloud, thunder bolt, thundershower and thunder clap.
Early humans believed thunder came from the deities the voice and expression of their god(s). The
roster of thunder gods includes: Thor of the Scandinavians, Donar of the Germans, Zeus of the
Greeks, Jupiter of the Romans, Taranis of the Celts, Perkunis of the Slavs, Indra of the Indians and
Shango of the Nigerian Yoruba. Each is know to throw thunderbolts or bundles of lightning at the
earth while their voices reverberates across the heavens.

They both believed that air smashing against the clouds caused thunder and, as the air struggled its
way through the clouds, it kindled a flame which was lightning.
Anaxogoras (ca 499 427 BC), however, believed that thunder resulted when fire flashing through
clouds (lightning) was quenched by the water in the cloud. Democritus (ca 460 370 BC), on the other
hand, suggested that thunder and lightning were due to the unequal mixing of particles within clouds
which caused violent motions, the resulting sound of which was thunder.
Aristotle (384 322 BC), in his series of essays entitled Meteorologica (written around 334 BC), wrote
that thunder occurs when
the dry exhalation that gets trapped when the air is in the process of colliding is forcibly ejected as the
clouds condense and in its course strikes the surrounding clouds, and the noise caused by the impact is
what we call thunder...similarly the windy exhalations in the clouds produces thunder when it strikes a
dense cloud formation. Different kinds of sound are produced because of the lack of uniformity in the
clouds and because hollows occur where their density is not continuous.
He also wrote that, in general,
the ejected winds burns with a fine and gentle fire and it is then what we call lightning, which occurs
when the falling wind appears to

Pros And Cons Of The North American Free Trade Agreement
The North American Free Trade Agreement, or N.A.F.T.A, was established to improve the economy of
the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It has been close to twenty three years since the treaty was
officially signed; time has given us insight into the effects that this agreement has produced. In 1984,
lowering tariff was a major discussion between Mulroney, Prime Minister of Canada, and President
Ronald Reagan. They came to an agreement in 1988 making it official for these countries to trade
more efficiently with one another. Soon enough Mexico was interested in bringing a similar treaty
with the United States as the tariffs were quite high between the two. After a while of negotiating,
Canada saw the opportunity for the three countries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Real wages in Mexico have fallen significantly below pre NAFTA levels as price increases for basic
consumer goods have exceeded wage increases. A minimum wage earner in Mexico today can buy 38
percent fewer consumer goods than on the day that NAFTA took effect. Despite promises that NAFTA
would benefit Mexican consumers by granting access to cheaper imported products, the cost of basic
consumer goods in Mexico has risen to seven times the pre NAFTA level, while the minimum wage
stands at only four times the pre NAFTA level.
Those negative effects end up hurting us in return as people are settling for less due to all the cheap
methods being used. The changes it has had on Mexico reflect the awful exploitation that is being
caused by the treaty. United States could benefit from a change to the treaty making it better as a

Outline on Celiac Disease in the U.S
1. Introduction
Celiac Disease is a digestive condition that makes the small intestines to become inflamed and unable
to absorb nutrients (Kamycheva, Goto, Camargo 2017). The condition affects more than 3 million
Americans. One in 133 American people are known to have the disease. The condition is triggered
when an individual eats gluten. Mostly gluten is found in barley, wheat, rye, and other grains that most
Americans love to eat. What if you couldn t eat sandwiches, pasta, cakes, pies, pizza? Sound terrible,
right? This has been my life for 10 years now.
2. Symptoms and causes
Celiac disease is different from other food allergies. Celiac disease is where the small intestine is
diseased. A person with celiac accidentally consumes something with gluten will be more likely to
have intestinal problems such as constipation, gas, and diarrhea (Liu, Dong, Barón, Taki, Norris,
Frohnert, Rewers 2017). Symptoms of the condition include abdominal pain, nausea, anemia,

The court should not interfere with Mr. and Mrs. Smith s marriage. There has been no significant or

that argument. Our conclusion is that family government is recognized by law as being as complete in

Essay Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Anterior Cruciate Ligament
With an ever increasing number of people becoming involved with athletic activities, there is an
increasing number of injuries occurring which can be devastating for the individual. Most of the
injuries that affect athletes occur in one of four structures in the human body: bones, muscles, tendons,
or ligaments. Because ligaments attach bone to bone and play a major part in providing stability for
joints, the major stabilizing ligament in the knee, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), assists in
performing everyday actions of the human body including sitting, standing, walking, running,
dancing, and participating in other sports. The injury that specifically affects this ligament is very
serious and always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This short and round ligament, like all other ligaments, prevents slippage within the joint and allows
the joint to properly pivot when performing an action (Duff 300). Without this particular ligament, the
knees would be fragile and more susceptible to injury. Therefore, it would be impossible to do the
simplest movements that are done by humans everyday, like walking and even sitting. This is one
reason why many athletes should be aware of the physical indications that arise if they have torn their
ACL while participating in athletic activities.
In many cases, the symptoms that the patient feels after the trauma has occurred can help the doctor
make his or her diagnosis. Many times a doctor will ask the patient to recall what happened after the
injury was sustained. Usually with an ACL injury, the patient will describe a so called pop or snap that
he or she heard during the impact. Pain, which is not terribly excruciating, will immediately follow,
and if the individual tries to stand, he or she will be faced with an overwhelming feeling of instability,
the leg will buckle under, and the individual will ultimately fall down onto the ground. Although the
patient is experiencing pain, he or she cannot point out exactly where the injury has occurred. Garrick
states, some people say that their knee shifts in position which it actually does (118). Other symptoms
that may arise are stiffness and swelling which may continue for a long

The Benefits of High Intensity Interval Training on Obese and Overweight Women Jamela Rabino San
Francisco State University The Benefits of High Intensity Interval Training on Obese and Overweight
Women Obesity is a prevalent and life threatening health condition among our nation as a majority of
individuals become3 more sedentary, exercise programs such as high intensity interval training (HIIT)
have been developed. HIIT has become a widely known form of training that consists of alternating
rest and work periods. During the work period, the individual uses about 80 to 95% of their maximum
heart rate, whereas the rest period is about 40 to 50% of the person s maximal heart rate (American
College of Sports Medicine, 2014). According to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM),
HIIT has become popular because an exercise program can be easily developed and tailored towards
individuals of any fitness level and there are many benefits. Previous studies have shown evidence and
benefits for men, but there is not much data available for women (Smith Ryan, Trexler, Wingfield,

An Investigation On American Civil Union
According to police, officers nobody has the right to record. Whether it is publicly, or an investigation
being done outside on the street. Now a days we do not have the right to do anything outside in the
public. My question is why? If we all have the right to do whatever we want. Many city journalists
even people have been arrested for not even committing a crime but simply filming. You would ask
me is this right? Well I would say no it is not right. According to the law which truly states ( Know
Your Rights: Photographers. American Civil Union. ACLU, July 2014. Web. 3 Sep 2014). That we all
have the right to photograph, and film while being in public being anywhere and at any time. The
video I selected talks about how a civilian is having a discussion with a police officer and how the
police officer says he is not allowed to film. Watching the video made me see how police officers don
t respect at all. They tend to lie a lot and change everything around when another police officer comes
to help them out. They harass and detain people with unnecessary reasons.
Although police officers tend to know about the law seems like they really need to get a recap about
what the law states. I believe police officers are there to protect and watch over the public. But to react
in a way that is erroneous and so unfair is just not accurate for me. The video I watch is about a
civilian who was filming traffic stop. The officer approaches him and tells the civilian to put his

2-Methylbutane Lab
In this lab, concentrated HCl was added to 2 methyl 2 butanol in a separatory funnel. The reactants
were shaken to help the reaction occur quickly. The separatory funnel was vented several times, to
reduce pressure that resulted from the reaction which was due to the high vapor pressure of HCl. The
Hydrochloric acid will dissociate, and the H+ will react with the OH C to form H2O C. The H2O is a
good leaving group. As the LG is on a tertiary carbon, an Sn1 reaction should occur. In the rate
determining step, the water will leave, to produce a tertiary carbocation. In the second (fast) step, the
Cl nucleophile from the dissociated HCl will attack the carbocation and 2 chloro 2 mehtylbutane
forms. In this reaction, some E1 also occurs; however, HCl will react with the product of E1 to
produce the 2 chloro 2 methylbutane product. In the lab, after the reaction occurred, the product
needed to be purified as excess HCl was used and still remained. To purify the product, a series of
reactions were completed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The percent recovery was calculated by finding the moles of the initial and final products. The moles
of the initial product were found by multiplying the volume used by the density of 2 methyl 2 butanol,
and then dividing by the molar mass. The percent recovery was good, showing few errors were made
and that the lab went as expected. To improve the recovery, the extractions could be done even more
carefully. To analyze the purity of the product, an IR test was run. 2 methyl 2 butanol has a large OH
peak; 2 chloro 2 butane does not, but otherwise looks quite similar. The main peak on 2 chloro 2
butane is a C Cl peak; however, this peak is not revealed with this IR machine, so it could not be
analyzed. The IR chart for the experimental product did not have the OH peak and looked like the
theoretical IR chart, meaning it was dry and that the desired product had been

Charity
Charity Among the key concepts of love touched upon by C.S. Lewis in his novel The Four Loves, is
his concept of charity. Charity is a type of love that involves showing care for someone that is not
easily loved, while doing it in a selfless manner with no gain for the caregiver. From the story of
creation in Genesis we are told that mankind is made in God s image. Through the act of God
sacrificing His son Jesus for our iniquity, we see that he is charitable. Therefore, transitively, mankind
is created naturally for charity. This is important to note because it shows that regardless of belief in
God, anyone can be charitable. Our understanding of charity can be wrapped up nicely by Lewis on
pages 128 and 129 of his book by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lieutenant, though unknowingly, offers money to the whiskey priest because he had no money to
his name. This shows us an important fact that even people who are not close to God have the natural
ability to show charity towards people: He put his hand suddenly in his pocket and pulled out a five
peso piece. There, he said. Get out of here, and don t let me see your face again, Mind that. (P amp;G,
140) An even more profound moment of charity with the lieutenant comes later when he actually gets
to know the whiskey priest personally. He talks about how if a person was in deep pain or suffering he
would do him a favor by shooting him and ending his misery. This moment doesn t even seem
charitable until later when the whiskey priest is executed. After being shot by the firing squad, the
lieutenant shoots him in the head so he doesn t die a slow painful death: ...if he was in pain, with
cancer, I d put a bullet through his head. (P amp;G, Page 200) Then there was a single shot, and
opening them again he saw the officer stuffing his gun back into his holster. (P amp;G, 216) During
the point of the whiskey priest s execution we get to see one more person start to form charitable

The topic of the Holocaust is a broad and gruesome one; maybe it is because of the horrors that
happened that people still write about it, to try to understand what happened, and how it did.

The Bloody Root Of Titus Andronicus
The Bloody Root of Titus Andronicus: An Argument of Intent and Origin
There are have been many arguments throughout the history of Shakespearean academia regarding the
validity of Shakespeare s authorship to Titus Andronicus, and the critics have not been shy to express
their discontent of its seemingly endless violent montage. As Michael Fentiman and Harold Fuller
point out of what Dr. Samuel Johnson spoke to in 1765,
all the editors and critics agree in supposing this play spurious...for the colour of style is wholly
different from that of the other plays, the barbarity of the spectacles and the general massacre which
are here exhibited can scarcely be tolerable...That Shakespeare wrote any part...I see no reason in
believing (Fentiman). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Virtually, all the central characters killed each other off in a downward spiral of luscious revenge
(Shakespeare). It is striking in its contrast to the likes of Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet or Macbeth to
where Shakespeare dove deep into the emotions and psyche of human life (RedEyesTakeWarning).
Violence and death were not foreign concepts to the people of the Elizabethan era, as medieval life
was chocked full of war, famine, and plague. In the case of entertainment, violence and death were no
strangers as people would flock to see bear baiting, including Queen Elizabeth. (Mabillard).
Allistair Brown claims that we take entertainment out of simulated violence because it is cathartic
(Brown). Brown also argues that, Violence becomes comic because laughter, denying the reality or
seriousness of whatever threatens, is a way of dealing with trauma (Brown). With the world being
consumed with death at every doorstep, what is so far fetched at the notion that Titus Andronicus is an
extremely dark comedy to help a broken soul cope with the grim reality of medieval life? As there is
almost nothing else for society to take away as a benefit from the play (RedEyesTakeWarning), what
else could it be? There are already plenty of examples in literature that deliver morals and lessons
learned from seeking revenge. Why

province in South Africa. It entails the background of rural urban migration as well as the statement of
the problem, main objectives, other specific objectives, rationale, hypotheses, identification of
variables, the theories of other people concerning the rural urban migration and the literature review.
Rural urban migration is a type of migration where the migrant moves from a rural area to an urban

An overcrowded area puts enormous pressure on the state for the provision of houses and other
services. People in the urban areas end up being jobless because there is a lot of demand for jobs that
is caused by this overpopulation. Even the rural areas suffer because there will be depopulation,
people will move out leaving the place to the elders only. The rural areas will not be productive in
anyway because people who are economically active have left, this means we may end up not having
people who can bring changes in the rural areas or those who serve as role model to the upcoming
generation.
MAIN OBJECTIVE
The main aim of the study is to investigate the effect of rural urban migration on four district of North
West province.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
To determine if employment status influence rural urban migration.
To determine if more males are likely to migrate than females.
To establish if migration rates differ between different age groups.
To establish whether distance determines migration rates.
To determine if people with higher educational level are more likely to migrate than those with
primary level of education.
1.5 RATIONALE
The importance of this study is to alert both people and government of the causes of Rural urban
migration and its effect on economic growth. The effects of rural urban migration on both rural and
urban areas are alarming, overpopulation on the

The Common Causes Of Weight Loss
One of the most common causes of weight loss is diabetes, this can range from a couple of pounds to
two three stone. Weight loss is usually due to the increased metabolism and breakdown of muscle and
fat due to insulin deficiency. Fluid depletion can also cause weight loss from both Polydipsia and
Polyuria. When an individual presents with these features it is important for them to be picked up
quickly otherwise Ketoacidosis can occur which may be fatal. Ketones are made up of acetone and
two organic acids beta hydroxybutyric acid and acetoacetic acid. The liver and other cells can only
process limited amounts of fatty acids, lipids and ketones at any given time, any excess of keytones is
then secreted into the blood causing ketoacidosis. The binding of ketoacids and bicarbonate buffers
within the blood, leading to an eventual decrease of PH in the blood due to decreased levels of serum
bicarbonate (Gould and Dyer, 2011: 551). As dehydration occurs within the kidneys the demand on
glomerular filtration decreases and so to does the excretion of acids leading to decompensated
metabolic acidosis. Diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar coma are mostly due to the
hyperosmolarity of the blood, secondary to hyperglycemia and the result of this can be fatal if not
treated within a short period of time Less obvious presentation includes tiredness and weakness which
is very common in uncontrolled diabetes. Alongside these presenting features comes visual blurring
and fungal

The Steam Engine Of The First Steam Powered Engine
A man by the name of James Watts introduced the first steam powered engine that would soon be used
to power several forms of transportation. The steam engine had been around for a while, but wasn t as
advanced and wasn t used on such a large scale such as powering transportation. Boats had been used
for centuries for the main forms of transport, however, when Robert Fulton put the new steam engine
to work to power a steamboat, it meant even more capital for businessmen. More jobs were created as
the waterways were widened and dug deeper for the steamboats. Captains and crews were also formed
to man the boats. Railroads that were once operated by horse and wagon were finally made into steel
tracks for steam trains to carry goods. This was especially important to the coal industry because it
made the jobs of the miners much safer than before. Small railways made of steel were formed
underground to transport the coal out of the mines by the use of small railcars. The idea to use steel in
the process of transportation was nothing new at the beginning of the industrial revolution. Britain was
known to have vast amounts of steel and had been working since about 1800 on using steel as tracks
and a train or buggy type to transport things. The first successful steam engine locomotive was built
by the British Engineer George Stephenson, which could haul up to 30 tons of coal at 4mph going
uphill. Later, Stephenson also created the first public railway for

The Environmental Crisis Of Kenya And The United Nations...
The environmental crisis is the biggest crisis of our time, climate change, scarcity of fresh water and
bio diversity loss are just a few of the problems caused by the environmental crisis. National and
international organizations try combat the dire effects of the environmental crisis like The Green Belt
Movement in Kenya and The United Nations framework on Environmental Change, they create
initiatives like sustainable development but they have not succeeded. My essay will introduce my
interpretation of the environmental crisis, then follow with the relationship between poverty and
affluence discussed by scholars Deborah Sik in, Environment and Development and Maggie Black in,
Enter Sustainability and propose, Deborah Sik s insights on property rights and participatory

Management for small communities gives better long lasting solutions for the environmental crisis.
My interpretation of environmental crisis and why it has grown exponentially. The environmental
crisis is the most exigent matter of our time. This is evident by environmental changes today, for

Although many African Americans landed in Virginia in 1619 as slaves, in 1608 most emigrants (who
were mainly male) wanted to come to the New World by crossing the Atlantic Ocean so badly that
they agreed to become indentured servants. Those who were called Slaves were there to serve for life
while those who were called Indentured Servants only served for a certain term. According to

who are younger get a longer term, while those who are older, like nineteen, only get about five years.

Civil Rights Movement During The Civil War
Civil Rights Movement With the winning of the Civil War still in the minds of many, conducting
interviews of previous slaves intrigued those wanting to know what it was like being a slave. With the
interview there is a look inside the life of, a woman still in her childhood, what her life was like, and
how she dealt with being a slave. The life of a slave was no easy feat, but with perseverance many
made it to the wars end, although life still has many hardships for the Freedman today. The interview
was given to Betty Powers by the New Deals Federal Writer s Project in 1936, quite a few years after
the slaves were freed. These interviews were given to give a look into the life of a slave, what they
went through, and the pains and turmoil that white people had caused. This interview just proved how
terrible and inhumane slavery was, and why it needed to be ended, although it caused the south to
completely change its ways in the Reconstruction Era. In the textbook there were views from both the
North and the South on slavery and its end. This article is on the view of the slaves and the North,
believing it was the right thing to end slavery, and that the color of your skin doesn t mean you aren t
human. On the South s view, they believed the opposite that African Americans were below the
whites, and were meant for harsh labor. The treatment of African American s thus leads to Reverend

Paul s By Paul Summary

Our spritual journey is harsh. Thanks to the development of media, a plethora of information facilities

by wrong or extreme information. Paul, who handled a numerous problem of the incipient Church,
would give the answer to us, who are waiting for the second coming of Jesus as the early church was.
I believe that Paul would encourage us, who are already citizens of heaven, to go forward to the glory
of Jesus wholeheartedly, whereas respecting the fruits of the race of Christian journey to obtain the

Roman citizen in Philippi would be familiar with these conjoined terms applied to Caesar, and they

Alluding to the hymn (2:5 11) by using the words, form, humiliation and power, the next verse
elucidates the privilege of the citizen of heaven. Again, Paul shows his paradoxical theology by using
opposite words, humiliation and glory, impressing the paradoxical dynamism of salvation with a
divine initiative on the recipients. Interestingly, Paul does not use the plural form, but use singular
form, our body. By this, Paul probably shows the communal characteristic of salvation here.
Confirming his point by further exhortation, stand firm, Paul conculdes his presentation (4:1). He
mentions his trophy of the stoic race (3:12 14) is not only resurrection (3:10), transformation (3:21),
but also the congregation in Philippi. Thus, Paul seems to regard the Church as risen body of

A Comparison and Contrast of Earthquake in Haiti and Chile...
Introduction There are about 15 tectonic or lithospheric plates on the earth s surface, which have
different size and move relative to one another over the earth s surface. As a result, the crust around
the boundaries of the plates bends or deforms, accumulating strong energy during these processes
(Briggs, 2006). When the strain becomes too great to bear by the crust in the future, the crust will snap
or slip causing earthquakes. As a type of geophysical hazard, earthquakes are inevitable for mankind
living on the Earth, which destroy tremendous buildings, and take human life away. However,
influences of earthquakes can be reduced if people take appropriate actions. This report provide an

relationships between earthquakes and other things, such as foreshocks, surface bulges, animal
behaviors. Reports about a variety of precursor signals are very hard to verify, because every
earthquake is unique. The following part will introduce some funds from scientist before these two
earthquakes.
Haiti
Sarkar, Choudhary, Sonakia, Vishwakarma, and Gwal (2012) indicates that electron density and
temperature variation in the ionosphere might be precursors of earthquakes; they have some
interesting founds about these two things during the Haitian earthquake. There are several sensors
onboard DEMETER (Detection of Electromagnetic Emissions Transmitted from Earthquake Regions)
to survey the ionosphere. The electron density and temperature variation are studied using the
Langmuir Probe Instrument (ISL) (Sarkar et al., 2009, p.634). Based on the data from DEMETER and
ISL, Sarkar et al. (2012) conclude that the electron density of plasma in ionosphere started increasing
5 days before the earthquake, and

Light Essays
LIGHT: A FUNDAMENTAL FORCE IN OUR WORLD
If asked what light is, one could say that it s one of the most basic
elements of our world and our universe as we perceive it. It is through
sight that we receive 90% of our information. It is through the use of
telescopes aiding the naked eye that we are aware of the heavenly bodies
around us. It is through light that the energy from the sun is transferred
to us. The sun s energy supports the food chain; plants use it to turn
water and CO2 into energy usable by other organisms. Solar energy was also
used, indirectly, to produce all of the fossil fuels that we consume daily.
Since light is such a basic part of our existence, we should have a basic ... Show more content on

When these return to their normal, or quot;ground quot; state, energy is
produced in the form of electricity. Thus, light is termed a
quot;wave particle, quot; and this property is called the quot;wave particle duality of
nature. quot; Many questions concerning what makes up light still lie
unanswered, but this much is thought to be true.
Light can be produced in a variety of ways. Our sun, like other stars,
uses nuclear fusion to produce energy in the form of light and radiation.
We can produce light artificially using several methods. If one starts a
fire, it produces light and heat. (Heat, which is infrared radiation, is
another type of light energy.) The light and heat are a result of a
chemical reaction, the combining of oxygen with the carbon in the wood.
This reaction leaves behind products which have less potential energy than
they started with. The energy, which left as light and heat, was produced
when electrons dropped in energy levels during the reaction. The excess
energy from one atom was given off as a photon, producing light. If one
examines a fluorescent or incandescent light bulb, one can see that all it
is doing is having electricity stimulate a metallic or gaseous substrate,
causing it to give off photons. The principle is the same as it was with
the fire, only it is more controlled. Still more

  • 6. Invisible Man Analysis In the book Invisible Man, it is based in a time period where there is somewhat of a divide between blacks and whites, and because of this lifestyle that was created by society, the main character is caught in the crossfire. The narrator feeling invisible in this world dominated by whites, where he feels he doesn t belong, and is frankly, invisible. The narrator goes to several different parts of the country to use what many people admire about him, his voice. Not in a singing way but in a form of speeches which helps bring attention to some of the societal issues and that not only he has but what many have encountered just like him along their life s journey. During his experiences in New York and finding his way, he is cut out from certain things that tie him back to his version of home, some people, specifically Brother Jack, Mr. Norton, and Dr. Bledsoe and some experiences made it difficult to feel like he was where he belonged, alienating him from certain realms of society. The narrator faces many struggles in the beginning of the book that lead to the idea of exile and the fact that the narrator is perhaps, invisible. Dr. Bledsoe does a good job of manipulating the narrator into thinking he is welcomed at the University early on. You can tell from his personality that he is only in it for himself but acts as though he is thoughtful towards other. You re nobody, son. You don t exist can t you see that? The white folk tell everybody what to think except men like me. I tell them; that s my life, telling white folk how to think about the things I know about... But you listen to me: I didn t make it, and I know that I can t change it. But I ve made my place in it and I ll have every Negro in the country hanging on tree limbs by morning if it means staying where I am. Sending the narrator off to New York was his manipulative way of saying you re not welcome here, and giving him seven letters was just the icing on the cake to making finding success more difficult. The narrator is unable to see that Dr. Bledsoe is solely doing this for his own benefit and is not looking at the interest of the narrator. Comparable to Bill Murray or Chris Farley in their heydays, McCarthy is not only the queen of her respective genre, but also the king, the dictator, and whatever other high standing position you can think of. True, not all of McCarthy s films are memorable (especially Tammy and Identity Theft), yet tremendous performances in films that include Spy, Bridesmaids, and The Heat, easily subdue and negate the less than stellar performances. But, don t look to either one for humor as Bell, who doesn t appear to have a humorous bone in her body, portrays the serious mother, all the while Dinklage plays a seemingly dry, obsessive ex lover of Michelle. The Boss, written by McCarthy and her husband (and director), Ben Falcone, is completely devoid of a meaningful plot, though relying far too much on petty, showboating antics (the opening sequence is a perfect example) that obviously attempt to sugarcoat the fact that there is absolutely no point to this story, whatsoever. Again, when you re having little girls brawl on the street a scene which mimics something straight out of an Anchorman film (minus the cameos), it s basically waving a sign of desperation to those watching. This reminds me of when kids are in their teens years, how we are too busy trying to fit in amongst our peers and try new things. We are so caught up in other activities that we tend to forget about our parents and we give more importance to other things and end up taking our parents for granted. • 11. The Causes And Consequences Of The Vocide Of Native Americans Christopher Columbus was a man who led an expedition in which he discovered the lands of America in the late 1400s. He and his fellow Europeans had traveled to different lands before where they overthrew native peoples with a mission to spread their own religion and an attitude of superiority. The Indians had never before encountered people of a different culture. Although the two parties were of the same species, they were vastly different in language, clothing, technology, and lifestyle. When the Spaniards first arrived, they were unthreatened by the Indians and looked at them with a strong sense of condescension. The Indians, on the other hand, welcomed these strangers and bestowed generous gifts upon them. The Spanish thought the Indians were foolish and were not as generous in their reciprocation of such gifts. However as the encounter progressed, the Spaniards became more threatened by the Indians. Because of this, they antagonize the entire race of people. They believe they are all evil and less human. They respond to their actions with great violence and contempt, while stripping the Indians of their dignity. The Indians, in turn, react defensively, also with violence (Todorov). After decades of conflict, the exchange ultimately results in the complete genocide of the Indian population. In this particular encounter, there exists two parties, both of the same species but with great differences. There is also one party, the Spaniards, aware of the others existence and that actively pursued this encounter. The Indians, however, were unaware that other societies and worlds existed beyond their own and were sabotaged by the surprise arrival of the Europeans. The conquistadors had previous encounters with other people different from their own. From these prior experiences, they had expectations to come to America and use its resources and people to their own advantage. They had also already established through previous endeavors, that groups and races of people different from their own could not be seen as equals. They identify these groups as Others, that are inferior and less intelligent (Todorov). This already creates a dilemma referred to as the double movement. If Columbus and the Europeans sought ... Democritus (ca 460 370 BC), on the other hand, suggested that thunder and lightning were due to the unequal mixing of particles within clouds which caused violent motions, the resulting sound of which was thunder. Aristotle (384 322 BC), in his series of essays entitled Meteorologica (written around 334 BC), wrote that thunder occurs when the dry exhalation that gets trapped when the air is in the process of colliding is forcibly ejected as the clouds condense and in its course strikes the surrounding clouds, and the noise caused by the impact is what we call thunder...similarly the windy exhalations in the clouds produces thunder when it strikes a dense cloud formation. Because ligaments attach bone to bone and play a major part in providing stability for joints, the major stabilizing ligament in the knee, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), assists in performing everyday actions of the human body including sitting, standing, walking, running, dancing, and participating in other sports. This is one reason why many athletes should be aware of the physical indications that arise if they have torn their ACL while participating in athletic activities. In many cases, the symptoms that the patient feels after the trauma has occurred can help the doctor make his or her diagnosis. Many times a doctor will ask the patient to recall what happened after the injury was sustained. Charity is a type of love that involves showing care for someone that is not easily loved, while doing it in a selfless manner with no gain for the caregiver. From the story of creation in Genesis we are told that mankind is made in God s image. Through the act of God sacrificing His son Jesus for our iniquity, we see that he is charitable. Therefore, transitively, mankind is created naturally for charity. This is important to note because it shows that regardless of belief in God, anyone can be charitable. Our understanding of charity can be wrapped up nicely by Lewis on pages 128 and 129 of his book by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lieutenant, though unknowingly, offers money to the whiskey priest because he had no money to his name. This shows us an important fact that even people who are not close to God have the natural ability to show charity towards people: He put his hand suddenly in his pocket and pulled out a five peso piece. There, he said. Get out of here, and don t let me see your face again, Mind that. (P amp;G, 140) An even more profound moment of charity with the lieutenant comes later when he actually gets to know the whiskey priest personally. He talks about how if a person was in deep pain or suffering he would do him a favor by shooting him and ending his misery. This moment doesn t even seem charitable until later when the whiskey priest is executed. After being shot by the firing squad, the lieutenant shoots him in the head so he doesn t die a slow painful death: ...if he was in pain, with cancer, I d put a bullet through his head. (P amp;G, Page 200) Then there was a single shot, and opening them again he saw the officer stuffing his gun back into his holster. Weight loss is usually due to the increased metabolism and breakdown of muscle and fat due to insulin deficiency. Fluid depletion can also cause weight loss from both Polydipsia and Polyuria. When an individual presents with these features it is important for them to be picked up quickly otherwise Ketoacidosis can occur which may be fatal. Ketones are made up of acetone and two organic acids beta hydroxybutyric acid and acetoacetic acid. The liver and other cells can only process limited amounts of fatty acids, lipids and ketones at any given time, any excess of keytones is then secreted into the blood causing ketoacidosis. The binding of ketoacids and bicarbonate buffers within the blood, leading to an eventual decrease of PH in the blood due to decreased levels of serum bicarbonate (Gould and Dyer, 2011: 551). As dehydration occurs within the kidneys the demand on glomerular filtration decreases and so to does the excretion of acids leading to decompensated metabolic acidosis. Diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar coma are mostly due to the hyperosmolarity of the blood, secondary to hyperglycemia and the result of this can be fatal if not treated within a short period of time Less obvious presentation includes tiredness and weakness which is very common in uncontrolled diabetes. The steam engine had been around for a while, but wasn t as advanced and wasn t used on such a large scale such as powering transportation. Boats had been used for centuries for the main forms of transport, however, when Robert Fulton put the new steam engine to work to power a steamboat, it meant even more capital for businessmen. More jobs were created as the waterways were widened and dug deeper for the steamboats. Captains and crews were also formed to man the boats. Railroads that were once operated by horse and wagon were finally made into steel tracks for steam trains to carry goods. This was especially important to the coal industry because it made the jobs of the miners much safer than before. Small railways made of steel were formed underground to transport the coal out of the mines by the use of small railcars. The idea to use steel in the process of transportation was nothing new at the beginning of the industrial revolution. Britain was known to have vast amounts of steel and had been working since about 1800 on using steel as tracks and a train or buggy type to transport things.
