Information Centric Networking ( Icn )
Abstract: Information Centric Networking (ICN) is set to replace the current internet architecture
which is based on end to end communication between hosts. The ICN approach to the network of the
future has recently been and is being explored by a number of research projects from Europe and in
the United States. This paper provides a review on four Information Centric Networking (ICN)
architectures based on objects/contents naming, name Resolution and data routing. The review
highlights and briefly describes the naming structures, operation of name resolution and data routing
processes of DONA, PURSUIT, NetInf/MDHT and NDN. A summary in tabular form and a
comparative study of different architectures is given.
Keywords: ICN, Naming of ICN, Name Resolution and Data Routing of ICN.
I. INTRODUCTION
Information centric networking (ICN) is the hot research topic in recent years, with various research
initiatives like DONA [1], CCN/NDN [2][10][16] PSIRP/PURSUIT [3][4][8][11][12], 4WARD [13],
CONVERGENCE[15], NetInf [9], SAIL[17],COMET [5 7][14]), MobilityFirst [18] and ANR
Connect [19] targeting this emerging research area with the aim of shifting from the current Internet
architecture which is built and designed for a host to host communications model. The Internet
architecture today has experienced rapid growth in network traffic of which most of the traffics are
characterized by the content retrieval applications running on top of the Internet architecture. The

Gender Specific Role In Forging Groups
From the time that fully modern humans emerged about 100,00 years ago up until approximately
12,000 years ago, societies of humans practiced foraging as a means for their survival. This period in
which foraging was predominant is known as the pre complexity period. In the traditional sense,
anthropologists classify complex societies as those that are sedentary and practice farming instead of
foraging. The traditional classification of a sedentary, agrarian society as complex is imperfect
because it discounts the societal complexities found within foraging bands. While these societies are
sometimes portrayed as primitive without culture, they actually have an egalitarian social structure
with language, religion, and a vast knowledge of the landscape in which they lived. The !Kung people
of southern Africa, for example, were able to identify close to 90 different plant species and utilize
them in their diet. While there were clear gender specific roles in foraging societies, where women
tended to gather plants while men hunted, the societies themselves did not have persistent inequalities.

These characteristics include increased population, increased urbanism, use of storage, increased
inequalities, economic interdependence between societies, and an increase in central authority. These
characteristics are best understood through a web model instead of a direct linear chain of events. This
is due to the fact that many of these characteristics likely coevolved together and could have
developed in various different orders based on the location of the society. For example, one society
could have consolidated authority before the introduction of record keeping, while another society
may have prioritized agrarian record keeping and as a result power was consolidated amongst those
that kept the

Cassia s Infraction
Cassia was under the impression her entire life that the Society never made mistakes and that it was
their savior. Perfection was the one word people utilized to describe the futuristic world they lived in.
However, the Society made decisions for every single one of their citizens. People s diets, death,
activities, partner, and living area were prohibited from being their choice. People that committed
Infractions were given a status, such as an Aberration or an Anomaly. If your parents had committed
an Infraction, all their children were classified as one as well. Additionally, Aberrations were
discriminated against and usually left to perish in locations such as the Outer Provinces. Similarly, the
Society merely allowed 100 of each variety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Multiple dilemmas that plague our modern world currently, were eliminated by the Society. For
instance, cancer, a disease that causes 8 million deaths annually, has been treated by the Society.
Moreover, curing cancer is a remarkable accomplishment and one of the multitudes of reasons why
the Society is an ideal civilization, in my opinion. No cases have been reported and citizens are fed
based on their own nutritional requirements, and everyone is kept healthy. The life expectancy of the
average person is 80 years of age, and that is when they have their Final Banquet, where they die.
Nevertheless, the Society has ceased treacherous factors that are still present in our world, therefore, I
agree with their actions because it has lead to a prosperous civilization. Although people, similar to
Cassia, believe that who you want to love shouldn t be chosen for you, the Society has generated
additional solutions to creating complications. Cassia persistently stated that the Society disposed of
violence and criminals successfully. Those that chose to commit Infractions were isolated and not
allowed with the population. Anomalies were usually killed to halt violence from spreading in the
Society. Finally, in our world today, especially in Chicago, violence is extremely recurrent and
managing to diminish it is outstanding. This

INDIVIDUAL WORK
A Literary Analysis of Ray Bradbury s Short Story The Dragon
1) The plot of the story
The story begins with the description of a deep night and two men bent by their lonely fire. These men
are speaking about a strange, mysterious creature, which seems to ruin everything on its way. They are
talking about a dreadful dragon, which is described with much detail: This dragon, they say his eyes
are fire. His breath a white gas; you can see him bum across the dark lands , Passing, the black brunt
of its shoulder smashed the remaining horse and rider a hundred feet against the side of a boulder,
wailing, wailing, the dragon shrieking, the fire all about, around, under it, a pink, yellow, orange sun

These two worlds have a parallel existence and cross at a point of a time.
▪ Post structuralism or Deconstruction the theme of metaphysics plays very significant role in this
story and the question of people s lives is raised. This metaphysical view sees literature functioning
beyond the periphery but rather associates every human phenomenon with supernaturalism.
▪ Psychological or Psychoanalytical Criticism a leading tradition in psychological criticism is the
Freudian s. According to its followers, the meaning of a work of literature depends on the psyche and
even on the neuroses of the author. Ray Bradbury wrote this short story in a very old age. And the
significance of this story is also view from the point of view of the old person s being aware of all the
new technologies of the world. People shouldn t live in their shells; they should go ahead together
with the progress. Ray Bradbury, being in his late years understood and took the progress in a right
way and probably wanted to show that people shouldn t stop in their development.
▪ Marxism fundamentally anchored on the work of Karl Marx, Marxism is a dominant critical theory
born in the middle of the 19th century and flourished tremendously throughout the twentieth century.
Marxism identifies social and economic factors as crucial denominators of relationship in society. This
short story has very strong social problems. The people of the Marxist time are afraid of new

Catholic Church Annotation
In a recent event in Rome, Pope Francis was faced with the question on whether he would consider the
ordaining of female deacons in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the 900 superiors of
women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider it. This is a decision
that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of reasons.
Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to
help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to seriously
consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would believe to be de
facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion worthy and would
generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a denomination to at least
take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. The shear fact that he is even considering
this is a huge change in a Church that only recently, with Pope Francis mention, acknowledged the
huge role that women play in Catholic life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A female deacon would finally bring the female perspective to the ministry while still continuing to
carry on the rich tradition of a Church that began in the 1st Century AD. The Bible even references in
Romans 16:1 a woman named Phoebe as deacon , trying to distinguish a female participant as more
than a women follower. This history combined with a fresh messenger is needed in the US as well as
all countries and Pope Francis has vowed to consider and follow

Essay on History of Social Security
History of Social Security
Is it time to privatize Social Security? Many believe the system will not be able to meet all its
obligations by the year 2012. They say Social Security will begin paying out more in benefits than it
collects in revenue. To continue meeting its obligations, the system will have to begin drawing on the
surplus in the Social Security Trust Fund. However, for many years the federal government has used
the trust to disguise the actual size of the federal budget deficit, borrowing money from the trust fund
to pay current operating expenses and replacing the money with government bonds, essentially an
IOU. Proponents for privatizing Social Security people should be allowed the freedom to invest their

The program was intended to provide pensions for most retired commercial and industrial workers
aged 65 years or more.
The Social Security Act of 1935 provided retirement benefits only to retired workers themselves. In
1939, before any benefits had been paid, the first of numerous extensions to the system provided
benefits for survivors and dependents. Later extensions included several classes of workers not
covered under the original law. For example, during the 1950?s state and local government employee,
members of the armed forces, and many farm workers, domestic workers, and self employed
professions were taken into the system In 1956 the age at which women become eligible for some
benefits was reduce from 65 to 62, and in 1961 men were given the option of retiring at a reduced
level of benefits at the age of 62.
In 1957, the national Disability Insurance program was established. The fund provided cash benefits
to workers over age 50 who become totally and permanently disabled. In 1965, Medicare was
introduced, providing medical benefits for those over 65, thus creating another social security fund to
finance. In 1974 the Social Security Administration established the federal Supplemental Security
Income program, which took over responsibility from state administrated programs for providing and

Tiananmen Square Protest Essay
On April 16, 1989, in Tiananmen Square which is in Beijing, China experienced a protest which was
called the June Fourth incident or more commonly known as the Tiananmen Square Protest. China,
which had been controlled by the Communist Party since Mao Zedong s rise of power during the Cold
War, had been ruled over by Deng Xiaoping at the time of the protest. More than a million protesters
which mostly consisted of students, had gathered at the square, protesting for reforms and the political
transition to a democratic society. Through time, the student based protesters soon gained support
nationwide as many supporters travelled to Beijing to support the students. However, the protest for
reform did not only occurred at the square; the people who sided with the protesters spread the revolt
to nearly four hundred cities in China. The protest had been smoothly executed without violence until
the government sent forces which ended in a massacre. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that had compelled the university students to protest at Tiananmen Square. Under Deng s direction,
Yaobang had pursued several reforms economically and politically which has caused rivalry between
him and a number of powerful Party elders. In brief, the Party elders opposed Yaobang s reform of
free market and his ideas of bourgeois liberalization. On the contrary, the students were interested in
the system and had been protesting for bourgeois liberalization that the government had constantly
declined to give them after Yaobang s death on September 11, 1989. Yaobang s reforms had also

Dutch And Nigerian Weddings Essay
Over the last couple of weeks I have been studying the subject of Dutch and Nigerian weddings. I
looked at photographs, a short movie and websites on the topic. I also interviewed some Dutch people
that used to live in Nigeria. I have come the conclusion that Dutch and Nigerian weddings are very
different although there might be some similarities. In the paragraphs below I will elaborate on the
similarities and differences.
To start off with, engagement is crucial for a wedding to happen and the first step you take toward
getting married. Traditionally in the Netherlands you propose which means to get down on one knee
and ask someone to marry you. In the Netherlands it is traditional to propose in a nice restaurant or a
place with a beautiful view. This is completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Dutch weddings it is traditional that both parties share the price evenly. While in Nigeria it is
normal for the wedding to be paid by both families together except for the introduction. The
introduction is an informal meeting of both families. This is different because in the Netherlands the
families would already be very familiar with each other. This is because in the Netherlands the soon to
be married would already be with each other for a long time in which the families meet. In Nigeria the
bride pays for the introduction and the groom can help out with the cost if he wants to. In the
Netherlands the cost is usually pretty much always shared equally. In Nigeria there is also a tradition
of showering the bride in money for good luck. This only happens in Nigeria and not in the
Netherlands in any way. In Nigeria people tend to give money as a gift but in the Netherlands they
usually give presents. (The movie: The Mother of George, the article: Nigerian Traditional Wedding

A Comparative Analysis Of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men
Painful Power A Comparative analysis of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men
It is interesting to see human behavior when put into a difficult situation that may force them to harm
others when they do not want to, but will anyways. It is human nature to always do what is best for
themselves and their safety, but people tend to harm others when they can shift the blame off
themselves for causing them harm. As for example the milgram experiment is a great example
showing people will cause harm under given command. This is not true for everyone, but for most
people it is. People will harm others, but kept telling the instructor that they want to stop. The
instructor told them they must keep on going, the first response would be I do not want to blamed for
hurting the person, soon as instructor took the responsibility then the they would continue to cause
pain. A movie that takes a closer look into this situation is A Few Good Men directed by Red Reiner.
Some of the main actors were Tom Cruise who played Lt. Daniel Kaffee and is a lawyer that is
defending the marines in a murder case, Jack Nicholson who played Col. Nathan R. Jessup is the
leader of marines stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Demi Moore who played LT. Cdr. Joanne Galloway is
part of the team with Kaffee to defend marnie in the murder case, James Marshall who played Pfc.

What Is The Collaborative Study On The Genetics Of...
Beirut et al. (2010) and Kalsi et al. (2008) focus on genes that are correlated to alcohol dependency or
AD. The disease can be described as the constant need to consume alcohol. Although not as discussed,
genetic variants play a role in individuals developing alcoholism. Through a genome wide association
study, these articles were able to identify and interpret some variants that relate to this disease.
The article by Bierut et al. (2010) is a discovery science article, in which there are no hypotheses
tested. This article focuses on alcohol dependence and the genetic influences that contribute. Various
case subjects were used to analyze the results from, the Collaborative Study on the Genetics of
Alcoholism (COGA). In this genome wide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They know that despite displaying a minimal correlation, there is a possibility for various genes to
contribute to alcoholism.
The Kalsi et al. (2008) article is a review article, therefore, lacking a hypothesis. The main idea was to
identify various genes that are related to alcoholism and how they affect the brain. The first variant
studied was DRD2, a dopamine receptor gene (Kalsi et al., 2008). This gene is known for being
related to addiction and pleasures in life. It is not shocking to know that this gene is elevated in the
nervous system, because alcohol raises the dopamine receptors and causes drinkers to feel as if they
need more, thus increasing their happiness. Another gene discussed is the GABAA gene, a component
of the GABRA2 gene. This component when found in AD, spikes an increase in tolerance level, thus
creating an effect in the brain to encourage the individual to continue drinking. Once the tolerance
levels have spiked, GABAA and another receptor gene, NPY will induce withdrawal behavior. These
variants, if found at low levels, play a vital role in the onset of alcoholism. While understanding that
the NPY gene may be found in the individuals, the CREB signaling pathway must also be discussed.
They observed a study on rodents to drive a correlation between deficient genes and their correlation
to humans. They observed this by analyzing the

The Effects Of Excessive Amounts Of Preservatives On The Food
There are numerous problems going on in America currently; some have more attention than others.
The declining health due to a poor diet in America is one problem that is recently receiving more
attention, as it should. However, a major factor is being overlooked. Excessive amounts of additives
placed in food is a problem. These additives are causing numerous health problems that are literally
killing us. I am bringing up the idea that we need to demand the government and FDA to better
monitor what goes into our food. Consumers also need to demand a change. This means choosing not
to buy preserved food, cutting back on the unnatural foods, and supporting farmer s markets. In this
paper, I will argue that the excessive amounts of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like it is easy and quick to buy and consume preserved foods, it easier to make them this way. By
adding preservatives, producers are able to lengthen the amount of time that they are still considered
safe to eat. They are also used to add coloring, flavoring, and vitamins or minerals that the food would
otherwise be lacking. There are two types of additives, natural and unnatural. Natural additives are
items such as salt, sugar, and vinegar. Unnatural additives are monosodium glutamate (a food
enhancer), benzoic acid (a preservative used in fruit juices), and food stabilizers such as gums and
waxes (H.S. Jeon). In addition to these, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is allowing about
3,000 more additives such as these in our food.
Excessive amounts of additives in our food is a problem that is not receiving enough attention from
the government. Companies also seem unconcerned with the problem because they are able to make
large amounts of money by selling items in larger packs. The shelf life of food is extended due to the
preservatives, which means it is cheaper for the consumer as well. Rather than having to buy food
continuously because it spoils, families are now able to buy food that will last for long amounts of
time, which means they will have to buy less.
Some argue that preservatives in our food is not as big of a problem as we are making it to be. To

Qantas s Pricing Strategy
PRICING
Prices reflect the unique value of the brand to a certain extent. Brand positioning builds the unique
brand image in the minds of consumers, so price setting and adjustments must adapt brand
positioning, and brand positioning shows the brand s unique value through price (Kotler, 2013, p.
215). For Qantas, the pricing strategy utilises a cost plus margin method of product pricing, offering
lower pricing in accordance to the market demand. The number of travellers requiring Qantas services,
prompt the airline to adjust pricing rates accordingly.
Qantas Airways provides different prices, to different customers, and combines the price setting with

PUBLIC RELATIONS
Marketing requires making public relations a priority to attract consumer attention. In turn, the public
relations promotional tool remains an important option for raising the Qantas Airways reputation.
Public relations, by Qantas, manage publicity directed at financial stakeholders and political bodies,
while promoting the company image and brand. As part of the consumer marketing strategy, Qantas
use brand ambassadors, as a promotional tool, for both global and domestic markets, increasing the
brand value. A popular international superstar, John Travolta signed as the chosen Qantas global
Ambassador at Large (Qantas Airways Limited, 2017).

Abraham Lincoln s Boyhood Home From The Age Of 7
Indiana, Abraham Lincoln s boyhood home from the age of 7 to 21, has memorialized our 16th
president with two statues in its capital city of Indianapolis. Both statues were controversial from the
beginning whether because of the amount of money it would take to pay for them or their placement.
The first statue was erected in 1934 and simply entitled Abraham Lincoln. This statue was funded by a
trust fund established by Henry C. Long, a wealthy lumberman to be used after his wife s death, the
trust fund was said to have $10,000 $25,000 in it. Long s stipulation was that with this money a statue
honoring Lincoln would be built in the southeast corner of University Park. Architects of the park
were hesitant to include the statue because it would spoil the artistic symmetry of the park. Finally, the
Judge Smiley N. Chambers ordered the statue to be put up and granted the city access to the fund that
housed the $16,800 it would cost to build the statue. The man who was commissioned to sculpt the
statue was Henry Hering of New York. Henry had done some statuary work previously in the
memorial shrine in the park. His work upon the memorial is entitled Pro Patria, and when it was
erected in 1929 it was the largest bronze cast in the United States. Hering had studied and worked with
Augustus Saint Gaudens another prominent sculptor at the time. The statue was unveiled during the
Army day program in 1935. The program was expected to attract thousands to see the nation s

Andy Warhol s Telephone
To complete my project I decided to visit the museum of contemporary art. The piece I m going to
focus on is Andy Warhol s Telephone, which was painted in 1961. I had already chosen to do my essay
on this piece because I d been interested in Warhol and his overarching themes of consumerism and
product idolization in America. Although this piece isn t blatantly judging America and its
materialistic mentality, I like the commentary he was attempting to make about traditional and modern
forms of art. Upon first seeing this piece I was taken aback by its size. I d seen a photo of the work on
MOCA s website, but to see it in person truly was a different experience. When I began to really look
at it, I noticed how clean cut all the lines were and made the assumption that Warhol had used silk
screening as he did in many of his pieces. However, when I read the description on the side and found
out he hand painted it I was extremely surprised. There aren t any visible brush strokes, the lines are
clean and the colors look so solid. Instead of depicting a modern telephone of his time he illustrated
one that could be decades old. This is a painting that because of its subject material and creation
method, could ve been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

back to Warhol s constant attempts to make his audience believe that his work meant less than it really

piece to be visually consumed by his audience. It wasn t meant to be analyzed, only enjoyed. This also
thought this could mean that even if a piece of art is hand drawn people don t appreciate that form of
art as much as they used to. Art is art and the method is no longer a tool for judging value or artistic
ability, so conspicuously displaying the techniques he used was an unnecessary waste of

Coffee in World History
Coffee in world history has changed many things from its first appearance in 1635 up until today. Its
effects were seen in the people, on the economy, and on the social aspect of life. These effects were
mainly beneficial with some exceptions. Documents 1,3,5,7,8, and 10 show positive social effects on

Wine Industry Analysis
The US winery industry had a growth rate of 4.7% between 2006 and 2011, and is expected to grow
by a rate of 4.9% over the next five years [ (IBISWorld) ]. In California alone an average of 175
wineries have opened every year since 2000 [ (Richard Green) ]. The states of New York and Virginia
have been major players in the US wine industry. The data shows that the demand for wine has been
increasing at an exponential rate over the past 5 years. Average annual revenue for the wine industry is
expected to be estimated at $20.2 billion through 2016 [ (IBISWorld) ]. The growth of the wine

These wineries would import large amounts of wine in bulk, and then bottle the wine in the US. This
allowed the larger wineries to sell their wine at a considerably cheaper price, hurting the smaller

amount of foreign wine entering the US has been on the rise ever since it was named the largest
consumer of wine in the world. Foreign producers, who are experiencing a decline in business in their
home country, are looking for new markets to sell their product. Countries such as Argentina, Chile,
Australia and New Zealand are able to produce their wine at a lower cost than the US. The import of
these wines has heated up the competition in the US creating benefits for the US wine consumer. The
superior quality of the imported wines has also changed consumers thinking as far as how much

Figure 1
New Mexico has seen sales growth trends similar to the larger U.S. market. New Mexico has
experienced a slight decline in the number of establishments selling knives but has still maintained
sales growth according to U.S. Census Bureau data (figure 2). Sales of knives and cutlery has grown
from $111 million in sales in 1997 to $190 million in sales in 2012.
Figure 2
Most knife and cutlery sales in the United States are made in retail chain stores and warehouse clubs,
with only a small amount of sales taking place through specialty stores. However, one of the largest
chain sporting store, Sports Authority, recently filed for bankruptcy. This has presented an opportunity
for small, local, specialty knife and cutlery shops to gain a foot hold in their communities.
Market demographics
The New Mexican market also presents the potential for local businesses to capitalize on the sale of
hunting and survival knives and gear. According to the Congressional Sportsmen s Foundation, 34
million hunters and anglers carry knives. New Mexico Game and Fish awards a total of 60,332 big
game hunting licenses. Of those licenses, 16% are awarded to non residents and outfiters who travel to
New Mexico from other areas. The majority of the non resident license holders purchase or rent their
hunting gear locally to avoid issues associated with traveling with weapons. These numbers do not

World war one was a total war meaning that the entire nations had to be involved including the
women. Everyone had a job during war as being a nurse aroud soldiers or helping out to sustain the
nation. A major group that contributed to the war were the women. Women who stepped up were
measured as citizens of the nation, not as women... this was people s war, and everyone was in it.
(Colonel Oveta Culp Hobby). Women took responsibilies of many jobs, like in factories, nursing and
much more, they had to take care of their homes and families. The society of womens suffrage

workers, working in factories. Women were however only paid half the wages that the men usually

pounds, this deferd for every job but was very unfair towards the women (Adie et al.). They did not
work in very pleasant places, being very dangerous. Such as in munition plants where there was a high
risk of explosions, and getting bad lungs some even got yellow skin, women had to work for very long
filling shells with any explosive for the war. When most men were out in war many women still had to

How Did Henry Ford Change The Automobile Industry
In 1863, Henry Ford was the first surviving son born to William and Mary Ford, who owned a farm in
Dearborn, Michigan. When Henry Ford was growing up his dad gave him a watch to tinker around
with. He had taken his father s watch apart and put it back together so many times that by the time he
was only 15 Ford was the unofficial watch repairman in his neighborhood. It was his first curiosity
and interest in engineering that led him to designing the first automobile for the common man. Ford
grew up on a farm in Dearborn, Michigan and would have kept working on the farm all of his life but

power in the company continued to grow. His violence against the union of automobile workers also

accepted an agreement. If he had not, his company would have lost millions of dollars in government

Bennett knew nothing at all about production. So Henry s grandson, also Henry Ford, was recalled

Ford retired from business. His thoughts were in the past. He died in his sleep in 1947, at the age of

Negative Theories Of Conspiracy Theories
For decades now, scholars have been trying to analyze conspiracy theories and their history and
influence on modern day society. Many academic scholars from various disciplines have dissected the
concept of conspiracy theories, and the different perspectives are essential for someone that is
interested in researching the theories themselves. Authors Cornel Zwierlein and Beatrice de Graaf
published the article Security and Conspiracy in Modern History, which focuses on the history
discipline of conspiracy theories. Brian L. Keeley, on the other hand, focuses on the philosophical
discipline when discussing conspiracy theories in his article, Of Conspiracy Theories. When

Including those works provides the reader the ability to research the information themselves in order
to see if what is being discussed is true or not, which is beneficial because it provides credibility to
what the authors are saying within their article. The supporting evidence the authors reference in this
particular discussion of the unbalance security of the ancient Greeks is Professor Joseph Roisman s
The Rhetoric of Conspiracy in Ancient Athens. They use what he discusses in this book, which is how
conspiracies have effected ancient Athens, and incorporate it into their own article. Referencing to his
work shows the reader that the idea of conspiracy theories influencing that epoch has come from other
reliable, academic sources. When writing research articles or essays, historians always make their
various points, but make sure to back up those points with historical facts and evidence in order to
prove that what they are discussing correlates to historical events. Graaf, et. al, follow through with
this technique all throughout their article: they paraphrase certain ideas from other sources and then
expand on them in their own words. Backing up their points with other works as evidence is extremely
compelling and makes the article stronger because it provides their points with credibility, and when
they expand on the works, it shows the reader that they understood the text well

Literary Romanticism Essay
Literary Romanticism
Literary Romanticism is a movement in literature present in the history of virtually every European
country, the USA, and Latin America. It lasted from approximately 1750 to about 1870 and was
characterized by reliance on the imagination and emotional subjectivity of approach, freedom of
thought and expression, and an idealization of nature. The term romantic first appeared in 18th century
English and originally meant romancelike #8212;that is, resembling the fanciful character of medieval
romances. Romanticism was merely a product of bygone ages as are all works of literature.
Heinrich Heine is an example of a German romantic poet. He is best renowned for his early lyrical
poems and ballads, which are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the profession of law was prohibited to Jews in Germany at that time, Heine, who was born
Jewish, converted to Christianity in 1825 in order to obtain a law degree. He received his degree but
never practiced law. In 1826 Die Harzreise (The Harz Journey 1887), a prose account of a trip he had
taken to the Harz, a mountain range in central Germany, was published. This work, with its wit and
grace of style, won success immediately and established Heine s literary reputation. In 1827 his Buch
der Lieder (Book of Songs, 1846) was published. Many noted composers, including Franz Schubert of
Austria and Robert Schumann of Germany, wrote music to accompany these verses.
From 1827 to 1831 Heine lived in England and Italy as well as in various parts of Germany. During
that period he wrote the three volumes of travel stories that, with Die Harzreise, make up the four
volumes of his Reisebilder (1826 1831; Travel Pictures, 1887). He also wrote a number of prose
works in which he displayed sympathy with the democratic ideas of the French Revolution (1789
1799) and bitterly satirized the feudal regimes of the German kingdoms and duchies (see Feudalism).
In the 1830s Heine became a prominent member of a literary group known as Junges Deutschland
(Young Germany), which attacked the German school of Romanticism for having come under the
domination of the monarchy and the church. He had hoped to obtain a position as a professor of
German literature, but his

Achieving Fit for Corporate Social Responsibility
Achieving Fit for Corporate Social Responsibility Evaluating the measure of corporate social
responsibility (CSR) is as much an attempt to ascertain ethical conduct of interactions with
stakeholders, as it is a management tool of to limit liability. A research summary of Corporate
Responsibility Best Practices, notes that 72% of NYSE Euronext traded firms surveyed have a formal
corporate responsibility programs in place (Corporate Responsibility Officer Association, 2011, p. 6).
Just 20% of the surveyed firms did not view corporate responsibility as a priority, while many firms
believed that ethical corporate responsibility was ingrained throughout their culture and functions.
Realizing added value from CSR is best achieved by fitting actions with motivations to concern both
internal and external stakeholders. Ronald Hill and Karen Becker Olsen find that CSR projects deliver
benefits to firms if there is a similarity between the corporate mission and the social initiative,
perceived motivations aimed at the good, and proactive timing (Hill Becker Olsen, 2005). Poor fitting
CSR initiatives are those the public perceives as implying that the firm bears fault and is reactive.
Press releases by British Petroleum regarding their commitment to the Gulf demonstrate both a
reactive and poorly fitted motivation initiative that is unlikely to merit praise from the community
harmed (BP p.l.c., 2012). Additionally, measuring the success of a CSR initiative that is reactive

During the 1930 s, much of Henry s foreign policy was distracted by reformation and as England had
broken away from Rome, England was on its own and to some degree in a vulnerable situation
especially when England was threatened by a Catholic crusade from The Empire and France. Henry
was alarmed by this threat and used monastic wealth to build up England s defences. Henry spent a

Also the Greenwich treaty would help England s security for the future, as there would be an alliance
between England and Scotland due to the marriage. Also how can Henry really gain glory from
invading Scotland, if he really did want to gain glory and prestige, it would be gained from invading a
great power for example France, therefore, showing once again that Henry s main concern when
invading Scotland was national security.
When Henry invaded France in 1544, his main concern was national security as France had been a
traditional enemy and invading France would be seen as a glory war, but this came second in his
foreign policy, as France had threatened England with crusades in 1540 s, therefore, he had to protect
his security, by striking first. Even though Henry personally captured Bologne when he invaded
France, was mainly prestige, but was also in order to prove a point to his enemy that no power can
threaten England s security.

Paris, but also because having the greatest power in Europe On you side at the time, mean t that

We All Have Evil Inside
We All Have Evil Inside Nathaniel Hawthorne is best known for his use of allegorical figures in his
short stories. The use of allegories help its readers seek a hidden meaning of an object or character to
help them understand their significance to the story. In 1835, Hawthorne wrote the short story of
Young Goodman Brown where the reader is introduced to an innocent and pure couple who are all
about religion and against any evil worshippers. Faith and Goodman Brown will face a diabolic
journey to hell, and fight against the will of the evil which is nearly impossible for everyone in town
has walked through sin. I am writing about Young Goodman Brown because I am trying to show you
how Hawthorne relies on the allegorical figures of Faith, the old man, and Goodman Brown to explain
that everyone has evil within their own nature.
Faith plays an important role that functions as an allegorical figure throughout Goodman Brown s
diabolic journey. For example, at the beginning of the story, young Goodman Brown comes late to his
meeting with the old man. As a result, he excused himself by stating Faith kept me back (Hawthorne
pg. 387). Besides Faith being his wife s name, it is an allegory for religious faith. It is emphasized at
the beginning of the story that this couple comes from a Puritan s society. In addition, their religious
beliefs are strict, for they fear that any careless action may lead them to hell. In this scene, Goodman
Brown commits a careless mistake when he

Gun Control Fallacies
The author makes several main claims throughout his articles such as, national news stories are
virtually never done on permit holders stopping mass public shootings, and the proposals put forward
by gun control advocates wouldn t have stopped this attack. The columnist firmly believes in the
power of the second amendment and as such, he wants to limit the amount of new laws that control
how much the people can hold and use weapons. The claims listed are claims of fact and policy
respectively. He gives several examples of how these different prevented mass shootings were not
widely advertised and how the ones that were not stopped were all over news stations to convince
people that guns are not helping the common people. The author then proposes that the changes that
gun control advocates propose will not make a difference and begins to give reasons why which
makes this a claim of policy. He says that making a change will not make any change so the laws
should be left the same as they are now, or they should be more inclusive to allow more people to
carry a concealed weapon.
One of the main fallacies that the author uses in his articles is a hasty generalization. He uses the
example of the Texas shooter and his bad background that would have prevented a weapons liscence
to make the generalization that, their proposals wouldn t have stopped any of the other mass public
shootings in the last couple decades. The author does not back this claim up very well and

The New York City As A Major Obstacle For Receiving...
Introduction New York City is composed of some of the world s most unique and eccentric
neighborhoods the world has ever seen. Amongst these neighborhoods, one can expect to find
Bushwick (Community District 4) and Williamsburg (Community District 1), nestled in in the
northern tip of Brooklyn borough. The earliest colonizers included the Dutch, French, Scandinavians,
and English farmers. Today, however, the spectrum of racial distribution has changed drastically in
which the top ethnic groups include Puerto Rican, African American, Dominican, Ecuadorian, and
Mexican, Polish, Italian, and Hasidic Jews. Both neighborhoods have an abnormally large rate of
preventable illness and death issues. Reasons as to why these districts are facing such high illness rates
could be because of language barriers, economic conditions, and lack of a primary care physician
monitoring health. Since the majority of individuals living in Bushwick and Williamsburg are of
foreign descent, it is only feasible to hypothesize that language barriers pose as a major obstacle for
receiving quality health care. Many of the residents may not know how to read and understand
English, therefore, leading to compromised delivery of care. Another justification for the residents of
Community Board 1 and 4 to not obtain quality care is because of economic conditions. Individuals
living in Bushwick are known to have a lower median household income when compared to Brooklyn
as a whole: the difference being $9,000

The Effects of Genetic and Environmental Factors on Type 1...
The Effects of Genetic and Environmental Factors on Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, in which the pancreas does not produce insulin. It usually
begins in childhood or adolescence. In Type 1 diabetes, the body s immune system destroys beta cells
in the pancreas that produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that converts sugar, starches, and food into
energy. Without insulin, blood glucose levels become too high, which is known as hyperglycemia. To
prevent hyperglycemia, people with Type 1 diabetes must take insulin daily to survive. Genetic and
environmental factors affect the onset of Type 1 diabetes. [1] According to the American Diabetes
Association, a predisposition to Type 1 diabetes is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The research on the affect of viruses in triggering Type 1 diabetes is inconclusive, and some is even
contradictory. Some researchers have also found that viruses may prevent Type 1 diabetes. Scientists
at Joslin Diabetes Center add trauma as a potential trigger of Type 1 diabetes. A traumatic event, such
as a body trauma or a car crash, increases the body s insulin requirement and strains the pancreas. [5]
Dr. James H. Warram at the Joslin Diabetes Center concluded that the trauma does not cause diabetes,
but it can trigger the onset of the disease.
Another possible environmental cause of Type 1 diabetes is early diet. Breastfeeding for at least three
months has shown to decrease the risk of Type 1 diabetes, and a diet including cow s milk before the
age of one year old may increase the risk of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association reports that
the onset of Type 1 diabetes occurs more often in winter than in summer. It is also more prevalent in
cold climates. This leads researchers to conclude that cold weather may be a possible trigger of Type 1
diabetes, as well. [6] Dr. Andrew Weil (2014) explains that in addition, Weather has an impact on
eating and exercise habits, which can in turn influence how well you re able to control your blood
sugar. (drweil.com, 2014) The phenotype for Type 1 diabetes includes the presence of autoantibodies

180nm technology using Cadance Virtuso analog design environment simulation. The op amp uses a
1.8v Vdd and a 1.8v Vss and consumes power of around 0.9mw. The analog output of each
comparator is encoded using cascading full adder designed by transistor logic that makes the circuit
more faster. This paper introduces a low power op amp modified from the traditional one and an
encoder employing cascaded full adders with pass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The TIQ Flash ADC provides higher data sampling rate and operates at low voltage and also low
power consumption.
 A 8 bit TIQ based 780MSPS CMOS Flash A/D converter J.Ramesh, K. Gunavathi [24] ; present the
design of an 8 bit Flash ADC with TIQ comparators,. Speed of this ADC is 787.78mbps and the power
consumed is 800mw. In this design the comparators are realized with the inverters, which avoids the
complexity in the design of conventional comparators. The TIQ comparator consists of two cascaded
CMOS inverters. The analog input signal quantization level is set in the first stage by changing the
VTC by means of transistor sizing. The second inverter stage is used for increased gain and logic level
inversion so that the circuit behaves as an internally set comparator circuit. The key point about
second stage is that it must be exactly same as the first stage to maintain the same DC threshold levels
and to keep the linearity in balance for the voltage rising and falling intervals of high frequency input
signals.
 Employing threshold inverter quantization (TIQ) technique in designing 9 bit folding and
interpolation CMOS analog to digital converters (ADC) Oktay Aytar and Ali Tangel [42] ; This paper
present designing and interpolation of a 9 bit folding and interpolation ADC using 0.35 µm CMOS
C35B4 model under AMS HIT kit library. The complete system consist of two main blocks, one of
them is 4 bit flash ADC using TIQ technique and second one is the 5 bit

Nasa s Space Exploration
When one thinks of space, one is always left with questions because humanity can still not describe it
fully. When attempted, the general public describes it as an area in, which Earth exists and is made up
of solar systems consisting of a sun and planets. But nowadays, space has turned into so much more;
with recent discoveries space can be seen as a living system in which there is a possibility that other
life besides humanity is present. In the past space travel was said to only be able to send drones or
robots past the moon, but with recent advances the transport of humans is closely becoming a fact.
These advances in science are driven by the recent discoveries like the fact that life was once present
on Mars. However some among humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the arguments comes from conservative people of various faiths. Their argument follows the
belief that God only created one planet of life, causing any scientific theories related to life outside of
Earth to be rejected, since it would disprove the belief that God created Earth. Another argument is
that the money used to fund NASA s space exploration could be used in a better way. According to
Piers Bizony, I have for some time considered space research a gross waste of money, time and effort
that could be much better applied to the management of our own planet. (9) This argument is
understandable however the fact that global warming, and rainforests depleting is occurring provides
more of an incentive in finding another planet with life. It would allow for a rebirth and have the
world start over, since both of the effects are a caused by humanity s daily lives. A third argument is
that the Earth has not even been fully discovered yet so it makes no sense to explore outside of it.
According to Gary Westfahl In short, the history of our species powerfully suggests that progress will
come from continued stable life on Earth, and that a vast new program of travel into space will lead to
a new period of human stagnation. (11) This argument is true that Earth has still not been discovered,
but Westfahl fails to acknowledge that with the study of Earth like planets we learn more about our
universe and our planet. This allows for the study of two subjects with one planet ultimately leading to
a greater understanding of the

Virginia Woolf Gender Roles
Virginia Woolf s A Room of One s Own focuses on the women s roles in fiction throughout a
patriarchal society. The essay is constructed as a narrative in the mind of Mary Benton at Oxbridge
College where she reinvents history by creating women in literature where there are not any. The
character of Judith Shakespeare, sister of William Shakespeare is made. Judith is a representation of
how women have been over looked and unappreciated for their minds since the beginning of history.
Judith is just as smart, passionate, and creative as her brother William. She is filled with the same
spark, wit, and tenacity; however, her dreams and love of writing, plays, and theater are deemed
insignificant and unimportant because she is a woman and women are supposed to cook, clean, and
take care of children. Their role is not to be educated, sophisticated, and revered for their intellectual
talents. According to Woolf, a woman must have money, access to publication, and a room of her own
in order to write. Throughout history, Woolf s theory is proven to be true; in most cases, women writer
s have at least one of her criteria. Finch, Cavendish and Montague ... Show more content on

Their ability to speak candidly about their aspirations and be taken seriously gave these women a
voice in a time where women were expected to be silent. The unfortunate aspect to these historical
women, is that they needed men in order to get what they wanted. They needed the money, status, and
support of their husbands in order to be published. Political and social status played an important role
in why these women were able to be published. Women of status were allowed to be educated and
have a place that was greater than just a pretty muse for their powerful husbands. These women were
given a role in history that elevated the weight of their opinions and gave the gift being heard because
of the title they married

The European Union ( Eu )
The European Union (EU) is the union of economic, monetary and political with twenty seven
Member States. They work together, in order to get particular advantages for their countries. This has
been argued by Bickerton, the shift from nation states to Member States led to a subtle and not
unproblematic. However, the countries are free to choose want to join or withdraw from the EU. EU
consists of various institutions, but with only three institutions are involved in the EU legislative
process. These are the Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission. Over the
years the EU has been expanded, consequently various treaties have been signed to work together. The
latest treaty is the Lisbon Treaty, which was an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although EU institutions have many federal characteristics, Member States still retain the controls
which make a European United States unlikely. The Council of Ministers is federally in the sense that
it consists of representatives of the Member States who act together to perform their legislative role,
they create rules which bind the constituent Member States. However, national interests prevail and
the process of policy and law making in the Council remains intergovernmental. While the
Commission is made up of twenty eight independent commissioners to represent the Union interest
and perspective. Whereas the commissioner will be sanctioned if there is obviously a severe
inappropriate behavior occur. The Commission also has the power to propose legislation, it does so
within established limits which are ultimately set by the Member States. It could be argued that the
most federal institution of the EU is the European Parliament, which has almost all powers of a federal
house of the citizens and it co decides with the Council procedure by which the parliament enjoys an
ultimate power of veto over proposed legislation, this power further increased when the Lisbon Treaty
came into force by making this procedure become ordinary legislative procedure. Although, European
Parliament cannot challenge certain administration, such

The settlement of refugees was a considerable financial strain. Partition also divided complementary
economic zones. Under the British, jute and cotton were grown in the eastern part of Bengal, the area
that became East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), but processing took place mostly in the western part of
Bengal, which became the Indian state of West Bengal in 1947. As a result, after independence India
had to employ land previously used for food production to cultivate cotton and jute for its mills.
Structural deficiencies, such as the need for institutional changes in agriculture and the slow growth of
much of the industrial sector, also contributed to economic stagnation. Wars with China in 1962 and
with Pakistan in 1965 and 1971; a flood of refugees from East Pakistan in 1971; droughts in 1965,
1966, 1971, and 1972; currency devaluation in 1966; and the first world oil crisis, in 1973 74, all
jolted the Indian economy.
During this period the government had to rely heavily upon the private savings (financing from
business houses like Tatas, Birlas etc) . This made these business houses very strong and they
gradually started having a strong say in the nation s policies and economic reforms due to the financial
dependency on them.

Ideal Woman
An Ideal Woman
In high school, I was given the task of interviewing someone that lived during the Great Depression.
Instantly my grandmother came to my mind. Ruth LaCoste was born in 1930. Unlike my grandfather
who was always telling tales, she never spoke of her childhood. I knew she was my ideal of what a
woman should be. Until this interview, I did not know how true that was. She can best be summed up
by a quote from GB Shaw, Mrs. Warren s Profession 1893, People are always blaming their
circumstances for what they are. I don t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world
are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can t find them, make
them. In short, Ruth LaCoste Rebardi represents perseverance, independence, and family. She
symbolizes my ideal woman.
Ruth LaCoste Rebardi represents perseverance by not being a product of her circumstances.
September 8, 1930, Hans and Julia Liner LaCoste delivered there second daughter. Ruth LaCoste is
the fourth of seven children. Hans and Julia were uneducated trappers in the bayous of South
Louisiana. Spending their summers on Bayou Schaffer. Then moving their houseboat to Deer Island
Bayou to trap Nutria during the winter months. Consequently, Ruth knew what it was like to be
hungry as a child. In
their home it was feast or famine. Not that there was ever a feast. Her undergarments were made from
flour sacks. It took everyone working to provide for the family. Perhaps a

  • 2. Information Centric Networking ( Icn ) Abstract: Information Centric Networking (ICN) is set to replace the current internet architecture which is based on end to end communication between hosts. The ICN approach to the network of the future has recently been and is being explored by a number of research projects from Europe and in the United States. This paper provides a review on four Information Centric Networking (ICN) architectures based on objects/contents naming, name Resolution and data routing. The review highlights and briefly describes the naming structures, operation of name resolution and data routing processes of DONA, PURSUIT, NetInf/MDHT and NDN. A summary in tabular form and a comparative study of different architectures is given. Keywords: ICN, Naming of ICN, Name Resolution and Data Routing of ICN. I. INTRODUCTION Information centric networking (ICN) is the hot research topic in recent years, with various research initiatives like DONA [1], CCN/NDN [2][10][16] PSIRP/PURSUIT [3][4][8][11][12], 4WARD [13], CONVERGENCE[15], NetInf [9], SAIL[17],COMET [5 7][14]), MobilityFirst [18] and ANR Connect [19] targeting this emerging research area with the aim of shifting from the current Internet architecture which is built and designed for a host to host communications model. The Internet architecture today has experienced rapid growth in network traffic of which most of the traffics are characterized by the content retrieval applications running on top of the Internet architecture. • 3. Gender Specific Role In Forging Groups From the time that fully modern humans emerged about 100,00 years ago up until approximately 12,000 years ago, societies of humans practiced foraging as a means for their survival. This period in which foraging was predominant is known as the pre complexity period. In the traditional sense, anthropologists classify complex societies as those that are sedentary and practice farming instead of foraging. The traditional classification of a sedentary, agrarian society as complex is imperfect because it discounts the societal complexities found within foraging bands. While these societies are sometimes portrayed as primitive without culture, they actually have an egalitarian social structure with language, religion, and a vast knowledge of the landscape in which they lived. The !Kung people of southern Africa, for example, were able to identify close to 90 different plant species and utilize them in their diet. While there were clear gender specific roles in foraging societies, where women tended to gather plants while men hunted, the societies themselves did not have persistent inequalities. This was necessary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These characteristics include increased population, increased urbanism, use of storage, increased inequalities, economic interdependence between societies, and an increase in central authority. These characteristics are best understood through a web model instead of a direct linear chain of events. This is due to the fact that many of these characteristics likely coevolved together and could have developed in various different orders based on the location of the society. For example, one society could have consolidated authority before the introduction of record keeping, while another society may have prioritized agrarian record keeping and as a result power was consolidated amongst those that kept the ... Perfection was the one word people utilized to describe the futuristic world they lived in. However, the Society made decisions for every single one of their citizens. People s diets, death, activities, partner, and living area were prohibited from being their choice. People that committed Infractions were given a status, such as an Aberration or an Anomaly. If your parents had committed an Infraction, all their children were classified as one as well. Additionally, Aberrations were discriminated against and usually left to perish in locations such as the Outer Provinces. Similarly, the Society merely allowed 100 of each variety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Multiple dilemmas that plague our modern world currently, were eliminated by the Society. For instance, cancer, a disease that causes 8 million deaths annually, has been treated by the Society. Moreover, curing cancer is a remarkable accomplishment and one of the multitudes of reasons why the Society is an ideal civilization, in my opinion. No cases have been reported and citizens are fed based on their own nutritional requirements, and everyone is kept healthy. The life expectancy of the average person is 80 years of age, and that is when they have their Final Banquet, where they die. Nevertheless, the Society has ceased treacherous factors that are still present in our world, therefore, I agree with their actions because it has lead to a prosperous civilization. Although people, similar to Cassia, believe that who you want to love shouldn t be chosen for you, the Society has generated additional solutions to creating complications. Cassia persistently stated that the Society disposed of violence and criminals successfully. Those that chose to commit Infractions were isolated and not allowed with the population. Anomalies were usually killed to halt violence from spreading in the Society. Finally, in our world today, especially in Chicago, violence is extremely recurrent and managing to diminish it is outstanding. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Catholic Church Annotation In a recent event in Rome, Pope Francis was faced with the question on whether he would consider the ordaining of female deacons in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the 900 superiors of women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider it. This is a decision that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of reasons. Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to seriously consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would believe to be de facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion worthy and would generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a denomination to at least take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. The shear fact that he is even considering this is a huge change in a Church that only recently, with Pope Francis mention, acknowledged the huge role that women play in Catholic life. ... They say Social Security will begin paying out more in benefits than it collects in revenue. To continue meeting its obligations, the system will have to begin drawing on the surplus in the Social Security Trust Fund. However, for many years the federal government has used the trust to disguise the actual size of the federal budget deficit, borrowing money from the trust fund to pay current operating expenses and replacing the money with government bonds, essentially an IOU. I looked at photographs, a short movie and websites on the topic. I also interviewed some Dutch people that used to live in Nigeria. I have come the conclusion that Dutch and Nigerian weddings are very different although there might be some similarities. In the paragraphs below I will elaborate on the similarities and differences. To start off with, engagement is crucial for a wedding to happen and the first step you take toward getting married. The introduction is an informal meeting of both families. This is different because in the Netherlands the families would already be very familiar with each other. This is because in the Netherlands the soon to be married would already be with each other for a long time in which the families meet. In Nigeria the bride pays for the introduction and the groom can help out with the cost if he wants to. In the Netherlands the cost is usually pretty much always shared equally. In Nigeria there is also a tradition of showering the bride in money for good luck. This only happens in Nigeria and not in the Netherlands in any way. In Nigeria people tend to give money as a gift but in the Netherlands they usually give presents. • 12. A Comparative Analysis Of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men Painful Power A Comparative analysis of Red Reiner s A Few Good Men It is interesting to see human behavior when put into a difficult situation that may force them to harm others when they do not want to, but will anyways. It is human nature to always do what is best for themselves and their safety, but people tend to harm others when they can shift the blame off themselves for causing them harm. As for example the milgram experiment is a great example showing people will cause harm under given command. This is not true for everyone, but for most people it is. People will harm others, but kept telling the instructor that they want to stop. The instructor told them they must keep on going, the first response would be I do not want to blamed for hurting the person, soon as instructor took the responsibility then the they would continue to cause pain. A movie that takes a closer look into this situation is A Few Good Men directed by Red Reiner. Some of the main actors were Tom Cruise who played Lt. Daniel Kaffee and is a lawyer that is defending the marines in a murder case, Jack Nicholson who played Col. Nathan R. Jessup is the leader of marines stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Demi Moore who played LT. Cdr. Through a genome wide association study, these articles were able to identify and interpret some variants that relate to this disease. The article by Bierut et al. They know that despite displaying a minimal correlation, there is a possibility for various genes to contribute to alcoholism. The Kalsi et al. (2008) article is a review article, therefore, lacking a hypothesis. The main idea was to identify various genes that are related to alcoholism and how they affect the brain. The first variant studied was DRD2, a dopamine receptor gene (Kalsi et al., 2008). This gene is known for being related to addiction and pleasures in life. It is not shocking to know that this gene is elevated in the nervous system, because alcohol raises the dopamine receptors and causes drinkers to feel as if they need more, thus increasing their happiness. Another gene discussed is the GABAA gene, a component of the GABRA2 gene. This component when found in AD, spikes an increase in tolerance level, thus creating an effect in the brain to encourage the individual to continue drinking. Once the tolerance levels have spiked, GABAA and another receptor gene, NPY will induce withdrawal behavior. These variants, if found at low levels, play a vital role in the onset of alcoholism. While understanding that the NPY gene may be found in the individuals, the CREB signaling pathway must also be discussed. • 14. The Effects Of Excessive Amounts Of Preservatives On The Food There are numerous problems going on in America currently; some have more attention than others. The declining health due to a poor diet in America is one problem that is recently receiving more attention, as it should. However, a major factor is being overlooked. Excessive amounts of additives placed in food is a problem. These additives are causing numerous health problems that are literally killing us. I am bringing up the idea that we need to demand the government and FDA to better monitor what goes into our food. Consumers also need to demand a change. This means choosing not to buy preserved food, cutting back on the unnatural foods, and supporting farmer s markets. In this paper, I will argue that the excessive amounts of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just like it is easy and quick to buy and consume preserved foods, it easier to make them this way. By adding preservatives, producers are able to lengthen the amount of time that they are still considered safe to eat. They are also used to add coloring, flavoring, and vitamins or minerals that the food would otherwise be lacking. There are two types of additives, natural and unnatural. Natural additives are items such as salt, sugar, and vinegar. Unnatural additives are monosodium glutamate (a food enhancer), benzoic acid (a preservative used in fruit juices), and food stabilizers such as gums and waxes (H.S. Jeon). In addition to these, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is allowing about 3,000 more additives such as these in our food. Excessive amounts of additives in our food is a problem that is not receiving enough attention from the government. Companies also seem unconcerned with the problem because they are able to make large amounts of money by selling items in larger packs. The shelf life of food is extended due to the preservatives, which means it is cheaper for the consumer as well. Rather than having to buy food continuously because it spoils, families are now able to buy food that will last for long amounts of time, which means they will have to buy less. Some argue that preservatives in our food is not as big of a problem as we are making it to be. To provide some information on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brand positioning builds the unique brand image in the minds of consumers, so price setting and adjustments must adapt brand positioning, and brand positioning shows the brand s unique value through price (Kotler, 2013, p. 215). For Qantas, the pricing strategy utilises a cost plus margin method of product pricing, offering lower pricing in accordance to the market demand. Abraham Lincoln s Boyhood Home From The Age Of 7 Indiana, Abraham Lincoln s boyhood home from the age of 7 to 21, has memorialized our 16th president with two statues in its capital city of Indianapolis. Both statues were controversial from the beginning whether because of the amount of money it would take to pay for them or their placement. The first statue was erected in 1934 and simply entitled Abraham Lincoln. This statue was funded by a trust fund established by Henry C. Long, a wealthy lumberman to be used after his wife s death, the trust fund was said to have $10,000 $25,000 in it. Long s stipulation was that with this money a statue honoring Lincoln would be built in the southeast corner of University Park. Architects of the park were hesitant to include the statue because it would spoil the artistic symmetry of the park. Finally, the Judge Smiley N. Chambers ordered the statue to be put up and granted the city access to the fund that housed the $16,800 it would cost to build the statue. The man who was commissioned to sculpt the statue was Henry Hering of New York. Henry had done some statuary work previously in the memorial shrine in the park. His work upon the memorial is entitled Pro Patria, and when it was erected in 1929 it was the largest bronze cast in the United States. I had already chosen to do my essay on this piece because I d been interested in Warhol and his overarching themes of consumerism and product idolization in America. Although this piece isn t blatantly judging America and its materialistic mentality, I like the commentary he was attempting to make about traditional and modern forms of art. Upon first seeing this piece I was taken aback by its size. I d seen a photo of the work on MOCA s website, but to see it in person truly was a different experience. When I began to really look at it, I noticed how clean cut all the lines were and made the assumption that Warhol had used silk screening as he did in many of his pieces. However, when I read the description on the side and found out he hand painted it I was extremely surprised. There aren t any visible brush strokes, the lines are clean and the colors look so solid. Instead of depicting a modern telephone of his time he illustrated one that could be decades old. This is a painting that because of its subject material and creation method, could ve been ... Many noted composers, including Franz Schubert of Austria and Robert Schumann of Germany, wrote music to accompany these verses. During that period he wrote the three volumes of travel stories that, with Die Harzreise, make up the four volumes of his Reisebilder (1826 1831; Travel Pictures, 1887). He also wrote a number of prose works in which he displayed sympathy with the democratic ideas of the French Revolution (1789 1799) and bitterly satirized the feudal regimes of the German kingdoms and duchies (see Feudalism). A research summary of Corporate Responsibility Best Practices, notes that 72% of NYSE Euronext traded firms surveyed have a formal corporate responsibility programs in place (Corporate Responsibility Officer Association, 2011, p. 6). Just 20% of the surveyed firms did not view corporate responsibility as a priority, while many firms believed that ethical corporate responsibility was ingrained throughout their culture and functions. The use of allegories help its readers seek a hidden meaning of an object or character to help them understand their significance to the story. In 1835, Hawthorne wrote the short story of Young Goodman Brown where the reader is introduced to an innocent and pure couple who are all about religion and against any evil worshippers. Faith and Goodman Brown will face a diabolic journey to hell, and fight against the will of the evil which is nearly impossible for everyone in town has walked through sin. I am writing about Young Goodman Brown because I am trying to show you how Hawthorne relies on the allegorical figures of Faith, the old man, and Goodman Brown to explain that everyone has evil within their own nature. Faith plays an important role that functions as an allegorical figure throughout Goodman Brown s diabolic journey. For example, at the beginning of the story, young Goodman Brown comes late to his meeting with the old man. As a result, he excused himself by stating Faith kept me back (Hawthorne pg. 387). Besides Faith being his wife s name, it is an allegory for religious faith. It is emphasized at the beginning of the story that this couple comes from a Puritan s society. The columnist firmly believes in the power of the second amendment and as such, he wants to limit the amount of new laws that control how much the people can hold and use weapons. The claims listed are claims of fact and policy respectively. He gives several examples of how these different prevented mass shootings were not widely advertised and how the ones that were not stopped were all over news stations to convince people that guns are not helping the common people. The author then proposes that the changes that gun control advocates propose will not make a difference and begins to give reasons why which makes this a claim of policy. He says that making a change will not make any change so the laws should be left the same as they are now, or they should be more inclusive to allow more people to carry a concealed weapon. One of the main fallacies that the author uses in his articles is a hasty generalization. He uses the example of the Texas shooter and his bad background that would have prevented a weapons liscence to make the generalization that, their proposals wouldn t have stopped any of the other mass public shootings in the last couple decades. Amongst these neighborhoods, one can expect to find Bushwick (Community District 4) and Williamsburg (Community District 1), nestled in in the northern tip of Brooklyn borough. The earliest colonizers included the Dutch, French, Scandinavians, and English farmers. Today, however, the spectrum of racial distribution has changed drastically in which the top ethnic groups include Puerto Rican, African American, Dominican, Ecuadorian, and Mexican, Polish, Italian, and Hasidic Jews. Both neighborhoods have an abnormally large rate of preventable illness and death issues. Reasons as to why these districts are facing such high illness rates could be because of language barriers, economic conditions, and lack of a primary care physician monitoring health. Since the majority of individuals living in Bushwick and Williamsburg are of foreign descent, it is only feasible to hypothesize that language barriers pose as a major obstacle for receiving quality health care. Many of the residents may not know how to read and understand English, therefore, leading to compromised delivery of care. Another justification for the residents of Community Board 1 and 4 to not obtain quality care is because of economic conditions. Insulin is a hormone that converts sugar, starches, and food into energy. Without insulin, blood glucose levels become too high, which is known as hyperglycemia. To prevent hyperglycemia, people with Type 1 diabetes must take insulin daily to survive. Genetic and environmental factors affect the onset of Type 1 diabetes. [1] According to the American Diabetes Association, a predisposition to Type 1 diabetes is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The research on the affect of viruses in triggering Type 1 diabetes is inconclusive, and some is even contradictory. Some researchers have also found that viruses may prevent Type 1 diabetes. Scientists at Joslin Diabetes Center add trauma as a potential trigger of Type 1 diabetes. A traumatic event, such as a body trauma or a car crash, increases the body s insulin requirement and strains the pancreas. [5] Dr. James H. Warram at the Joslin Diabetes Center concluded that the trauma does not cause diabetes, but it can trigger the onset of the disease. Another possible environmental cause of Type 1 diabetes is early diet. Breastfeeding for at least three months has shown to decrease the risk of Type 1 diabetes, and a diet including cow s milk before the age of one year old may increase the risk of diabetes. The American Diabetes Association reports that the onset of Type 1 diabetes occurs more often in winter than in summer. It is also more prevalent in cold climates. This leads researchers to conclude that cold weather may be a possible trigger of Type 1 diabetes, as well. [6] Dr. Andrew Weil (2014) explains that in addition, Weather has an impact on eating and exercise habits, which can in turn influence how well you re able to control your blood sugar. (drweil.com, 2014) The phenotype for Type 1 diabetes includes the presence of autoantibodies in the body. [7] These autoantibodies prevent the pancreas from adequately ... Two stage open loop comparator is presented using 50nm CMOS technology.  Design of 3 bit low power flash type ADC Sarojini Mandal, Dr. J.K. Das [60] ; define that Simple two stage op amp with miller capacitance can be used as a high gain comparator. It is simulated in 180nm technology using Cadance Virtuso analog design environment simulation. The op amp uses a 1.8v Vdd and a 1.8v Vss and consumes power of around 0.9mw. The analog output of each comparator is encoded using cascading full adder designed by transistor logic that makes the circuit more faster. This paper introduces a low power op amp modified from the traditional one and an encoder employing cascaded full adders with pass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The TIQ Flash ADC provides higher data sampling rate and operates at low voltage and also low power consumption.  A 8 bit TIQ based 780MSPS CMOS Flash A/D converter J.Ramesh, K. Gunavathi [24] ; present the design of an 8 bit Flash ADC with TIQ comparators,. Speed of this ADC is 787.78mbps and the power consumed is 800mw. In this design the comparators are realized with the inverters, which avoids the complexity in the design of conventional comparators. The TIQ comparator consists of two cascaded CMOS inverters. The analog input signal quantization level is set in the first stage by changing the VTC by means of transistor sizing. The second inverter stage is used for increased gain and logic level inversion so that the circuit behaves as an internally set comparator circuit. The key point about second stage is that it must be exactly same as the first stage to maintain the same DC threshold levels and to keep the linearity in balance for the voltage rising and falling intervals of high frequency input signals.  Employing threshold inverter quantization (TIQ) technique in designing 9 bit folding and interpolation CMOS analog to digital converters (ADC) Oktay Aytar and Ali Tangel [42] ; This paper present designing and interpolation of a 9 bit folding and interpolation ADC using 0.35 µm CMOS C35B4 model under AMS HIT kit library. • 44. Nasa s Space Exploration When one thinks of space, one is always left with questions because humanity can still not describe it fully. When attempted, the general public describes it as an area in, which Earth exists and is made up of solar systems consisting of a sun and planets. But nowadays, space has turned into so much more; with recent discoveries space can be seen as a living system in which there is a possibility that other life besides humanity is present. In the past space travel was said to only be able to send drones or robots past the moon, but with recent advances the transport of humans is closely becoming a fact. These advances in science are driven by the recent discoveries like the fact that life was once present on Mars. However some among humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the arguments comes from conservative people of various faiths. Their argument follows the belief that God only created one planet of life, causing any scientific theories related to life outside of Earth to be rejected, since it would disprove the belief that God created Earth. Another argument is that the money used to fund NASA s space exploration could be used in a better way. According to Piers Bizony, I have for some time considered space research a gross waste of money, time and effort that could be much better applied to the management of our own planet. (9) This argument is understandable however the fact that global warming, and rainforests depleting is occurring provides more of an incentive in finding another planet with life. It would allow for a rebirth and have the world start over, since both of the effects are a caused by humanity s daily lives. A third argument is that the Earth has not even been fully discovered yet so it makes no sense to explore outside of it. According to Gary Westfahl In short, the history of our species powerfully suggests that progress will come from continued stable life on Earth, and that a vast new program of travel into space will lead to a new period of human stagnation. (11) This argument is true that Earth has still not been discovered, but Westfahl fails to acknowledge that with the study of Earth like planets we learn more about our universe and our planet. This allows for the study of two subjects with one planet ultimately leading to a greater understanding of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Virginia Woolf Gender Roles Virginia Woolf s A Room of One s Own focuses on the women s roles in fiction throughout a patriarchal society. The essay is constructed as a narrative in the mind of Mary Benton at Oxbridge College where she reinvents history by creating women in literature where there are not any. The character of Judith Shakespeare, sister of William Shakespeare is made. Judith is a representation of how women have been over looked and unappreciated for their minds since the beginning of history. Judith is just as smart, passionate, and creative as her brother William. She is filled with the same spark, wit, and tenacity; however, her dreams and love of writing, plays, and theater are deemed insignificant and unimportant because she is a woman and women are supposed to cook, clean, and take care of children. Their role is not to be educated, sophisticated, and revered for their intellectual talents. According to Woolf, a woman must have money, access to publication, and a room of her own in order to write. Throughout history, Woolf s theory is proven to be true; in most cases, women writer s have at least one of her criteria. Finch, Cavendish and Montague ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The unfortunate aspect to these historical women, is that they needed men in order to get what they wanted. They needed the money, status, and support of their husbands in order to be published. Political and social status played an important role in why these women were able to be published. Although EU institutions have many federal characteristics, Member States still retain the controls which make a European United States unlikely. The Council of Ministers is federally in the sense that it consists of representatives of the Member States who act together to perform their legislative role, they create rules which bind the constituent Member States. However, national interests prevail and the process of policy and law making in the Council remains intergovernmental. While the Commission is made up of twenty eight independent commissioners to represent the Union interest and perspective. Whereas the commissioner will be sanctioned if there is obviously a severe inappropriate behavior occur. The Commission also has the power to propose legislation, it does so within established limits which are ultimately set by the Member States. It could be argued that the most federal institution of the EU is the European Parliament, which has almost all powers of a federal house of the citizens and it co decides with the Council procedure by which the parliament enjoys an ultimate power of veto over proposed legislation, this power further increased when the Lisbon Treaty came into force by making this procedure become ordinary legislative procedure. Under the British, jute and cotton were grown in the eastern part of Bengal, the area that became East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), but processing took place mostly in the western part of Bengal, which became the Indian state of West Bengal in 1947. As a result, after independence India had to employ land previously used for food production to cultivate cotton and jute for its mills. Structural deficiencies, such as the need for institutional changes in agriculture and the slow growth of much of the industrial sector, also contributed to economic stagnation. Wars with China in 1962 and with Pakistan in 1965 and 1971; a flood of refugees from East Pakistan in 1971; droughts in 1965, 1966, 1971, and 1972; currency devaluation in 1966; and the first world oil crisis, in 1973 74, all jolted the Indian economy. • 49. Ideal Woman An Ideal Woman In high school, I was given the task of interviewing someone that lived during the Great Depression. Instantly my grandmother came to my mind. Ruth LaCoste was born in 1930. Unlike my grandfather who was always telling tales, she never spoke of her childhood. I knew she was my ideal of what a woman should be. Until this interview, I did not know how true that was. She can best be summed up by a quote from GB Shaw, Mrs. Warren s Profession 1893, People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can t find them, make them. In short, Ruth LaCoste Rebardi represents perseverance, independence, and family. She symbolizes my ideal woman. Ruth LaCoste Rebardi represents perseverance by not being a product of her circumstances. September 8, 1930, Hans and Julia Liner LaCoste delivered there second daughter. Ruth LaCoste is the fourth of seven children. Hans and Julia were uneducated trappers in the bayous of South Louisiana. Spending their summers on Bayou Schaffer. Then moving their houseboat to Deer Island Bayou to trap Nutria during the winter months. Consequently, Ruth knew what it was like to be hungry as a child. In their home it was feast or famine. Not that there was ever a feast. Her undergarments were made from flour sacks. It took everyone working to provide for the family. Perhaps a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
