Character Development In Cathedral s Cathedral
There are ample ways to describe and trace character development in. The setting in which a character
resides, other present characters, and the tone in which those characters interact all guide a character s
development. In individual stories, more specific things can be used to trace character development. In
Cathedral, television plays a significant role in the development of narrator. At the beginning of the
story, the narrator introduces conflict by stating his dislike for blind people. He sees the blind as dull,
helpless beings. Before Robert arrives, the narrator applies these stereotypes to him. While expressing
his dislike, the narrator confesses that [His] idea of blindness came from the movies. (34) This
confession not only shows the narrator s ignorance, but also the impact of television on him. His
ignorance leaves ample room for character development. The narrator continues to extend his disdain
to Roberts wife, Beulah. He looks down upon their wedding, and comments on what a pitiful life
[Beulah] must have led. (37) Although he made negative remarks about their marriage, learning of
Beulah s death brought about sympathy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he draws, the narrator relaxes. When the television program ends, he stops to let Robert feel the
page. The program s ending is notable because, usually, the narrator gives as much of his attention to
the program as possible. However, spending time with Robert has taken over his interest. When
Robert tells the narrator to close his eyes while drawing, the narrator does so and claims it was like
nothing else in [his] life up to now. (46) The narrator experiences his own version of physical
blindness, a disability he looked down upon in the beginning. The choice to keep his eyes closed, to
stay blind, shows the narrator s growth by overcoming his ignorance and forming a connection with a
person he once

Introduction
The purpose of this report is to analyze and illustrate the geographical origins of eragrostis tef along
with details of its global dispersion. The common name of the crop in Ethiopia is tef. It was chosen for
its cultural significance and it s importance
Background
In Ethiopia, about 4.9 million acres of land is devoted to its production every year. From 2003 2005
production statistics indicated that tef accounted for about 29% of the land and 20% of the gross grain
production of all major cereal cultivation in the country (National Research Council).
Eragrostis tef belongs to the grass family Poaceae, and is species of Eragrostis. It contains about 350
species and tef is the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of tef was quite crucial for the Abyssinians, since the amount of tef seed required to plant
were hundreds of times smaller than that of wheat (Ingram). This productive potential and minimal
time and seed requirements have protected them from hunger when their food supply was under attack
from numerous invaders in the past.
It was reported by Unger in 1866 that tef seeds were also found in the Egyptian Pyramid of Dashur in
3359 BC (National Research Council). Dried tef straws were suggested to have been used in the
making of mud bricks used in the Pyramid of Dashur as well (Seyfu).
The closest wild relative to tef is generally considered to be eragrostis pilosa this species is recorded
as an annual growing weed from Eritrea and Northern regions of Ethiopia (Ingram).
Vavilov has recognized Ethiopia as the center of origin and variety of tef (National Research Council).
Due to the fact that several widespread and non widespread species of eragrostis, some of which are
considered the wild relatives of tef, are found in Ethiopia. Since the genetic diversity for tef does not
exist anywhere else in the world except in Ethiopia, confirms that tef originated and was

Navy And Marine Corps Shore Confinement Facilities
Navy jargon refers to its correctional facilities as brigs regardless of size or classification. Currently
the Navy and Marine Corps shore confinement facilities or brigs are classified at what is considered
levels . At the base, Pre trial Confinement Facilities (PFC) may be used as a matter of necessity for
post trial confinement for up to 30 days. Level I, is authorized for pre (awaiting court) post trial
(sentenced) confinement of members serving adjusted sentences not to exceed six months and with
approval up to 1 year. Level II, is authorized for pre post trial confinement of members serving
adjusted sentences not to exceed 5 years. Level III, is authorized for pre post trial confinement of
members serving adjusted sentences of greater than 5 years and up to death sentences (SECNAVINST
1640.9C). In addition to the shore confinement, Ships Brigs are authorized for confinement of
personnel attached to, or embarked upon a ship, and may be used for periods of post trial confinement
of up to 30 days. Pretrial confinement aboard a vessel at sea may continue only until the individual
can be transferred to a confinement facility ashore. The Navy operates three level II brigs: one at
Miramar, CA; another at Charleston, SC; and the newest brig at Chesapeake, VA. The brig at Miramar
doubles as a women s level III facility for the Department of Defense (DoD). The Pearl Harbor Brig is
the only true level I facility in the Navy and is the only DoD correctional facility

A Case Study On South Florida Real Estate
7. A Case Study
Let s imagine you have to sell a rather expensive condo in Hallandale Beach, Florida, which is
essentially a middle class town right north of Miami with a splash of a luxury building here or there,
and you happen to have this property for sale in one of those luxury buildings with the market price
more than twice the average price around town. So, it is hard to think that a local interest would be
extremely high, plus you know that a neighbor s apartment has been sitting on the market with a local
real estate agent for a while without a good and solid offer, plus there is a bit of an issue with some
banks to approve mortgages for this building. It is really time to think of reaching foreign investors in

(Please note that the internet is ever changing and what was seen at the time of these searches and

field www.google.ca in English. Oh, no luck either, the competition is also very tough. French
speaking Canadians from the province of Quebec love Florida and French at the same time. Searching
Canadian Google in French for immobilier à Hallandale Beach Floride (the translation that we got
from the free online translator and consider correct, but who knows?) we can see not so overcrowded
environment, no big names and no paid ads at all which means that you can be a good appealing
choice for about five million French Canadians if they see your condo for sale in French posted by a
French speaking Canadian realtor. It could be the way to go. Canadian real estate prices had never
fallen along with American because of much stronger mortgage approval rules in Canada, and just a
couple of years ago Canadians used to borrow against their expensive homes in Canada to buy cheap
Florida homes for their future retirement with this cash. Now the Florida real estate prices are going
up; also the Canadian dollar was equal to the American buck a couple of years ago, which is not the
case anymore as the world s low oil prices

The Changing Lives Documentary Analysis
No treatment plan is the same for every person and every recovery is different as well for everyone.
The changing lives is a transformational documentary about the lives of a few people on how they got
out of addiction. It shows the process through their very compelling group therapy. But most
importantly, what really caught me was the program for the women, that helped them with treatment
when they were at the verge of losing their children.
Body
The group therapy was very compelling to me. I really saw that they were helping one another to get
to the root of each other s problems, digging deep and peeling at the source. Some were very
uncomfortable at first but once they saw that they had a lot of similarities with others, they slowly
started opening up. The therapist was also going deep, but it was for a cause. It was to help them heal
and move on with their lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

program helps these women through treatment and helps their children too by keeping them in a safe

inspiration for the many ladies that have walked in it, changing so many lives around. The part of their
change that struck me the most was the day they graduate. This day signifies a milestone in their lives
of how far they ve come in their journey and how successful they been in it. It s the sign that shows
that they have finally made to the finish line and are to keep it

The Supply Of Adenosine Triphosphate And Creatine...
In Football, the muscles rely on three major systems to supply the energy needs the ATP/PC,
glycolytic, and oxygen (anaerobic) energy systems. The ATP/PC system is not oxidative it does not
utilize oxygen. Rather, this system creates energy through the utilization of adenosine triphosphate
(ATP) and creatine phosphate (CP). CP is created in the body and uses muscle strands as a way of
storage. It is broken around chemicals (enzymes) to recover ATP, which is likewise stored in the
muscle strands. Whenever ATP and is thus disintegrated, the outcome is a small burst of energy that
triggers a muscle withdrawal. This is the system used for short bursts of high intensity work lasting
approximately 10 seconds or less. The glycolytic system uses starches such as carbohydrates as fuel to
create ATP for energy. This is a two stage system where glucose is separated to shape ATP and pyruvic
corrosive or lactic acid. It is the system utilized for moderately brief times of high intensity work
enduring just a couple of minutes. Following a couple of minutes of work, the amassing of lactic acid
will achieve a point where physical torment and exhaustion will start to prevent good performance.
This is alluded to as the lactate threshold. The aerobic oxidative system uses sugars, fats and proteins
to produce ATP for energy. This is a three phase system comprised of many steps in preparation of the
Aceytl CoA, the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain. The Krebs cycle and electron

Are Financial Constraints an Important Determination in a...
The Cash Flow Sensitivity of Sash
Research Question Does the link between financial constraints and firms demand for liquidity can
help us identify whether financial constraints are an important determinant of firm behavior.
Contribution Previous scholars, Fazzari, Hubbard, and Petersen, proposed that investment activities of
a firm is limited by the firm s financial situation, which is called financial constraints. When firms
face financial constraints, the firm s investment cash flow sensitivity is high. When a firm face no
financial constraints, its investment cash flow sensitivity is low. However this theory was doubtful by
some scholars. In 1997, Kaplan and Zingales propose an exactly opposite theory. In 2001, ... Show

The authors further test the intuition of our argument by investigating firms propensity to save cash
out of cash inflow over the business cycle.
Result
The authors use two alternative method to empirically model the cash flow sensitivity of cash. The
first model only include proxies: cash flow and investment opportunities. The second model is
estimated from a method in which a firm s decision to change its cash holdings is modeled as a
function of a number of sources and uses of funds. The result reported in table III is related to the first
model. The set of constrained firms shows significantly positive sensitivities of cash to cash flow
sensitivities. The sensitivity estimates for constrained firms are between 0.051 and 0.062 and are all
statistically significant at better than the 1% level.
The result reported in table IV is related to the second model. This finding is consistent with the view
that there are systematic difference between constrained and unconstrained firms in the way they
conduct their cash policies.
Paper s Findings
By conducting this study, the authors conclude that financial constraints and firm s liquidity demand
can help identify whether financial constraints can

Psychological Hypnosis
Throughout many year, hypnosis has evolved using a variety of techniques. Most of the techniques
were commonly used to perform clinical methods and principles. Psychologists had discovered the
aristocracy and medical theories of hypnosis by introducing it into the course for curing psychiatric
and physical illnesses. As the phenomena transforms throughout centuries, the origin of its term
follows. Medical doctors in France have embraced the new term hypnotism by the late 1800s,
although they had originally used the term mesmerism for the symptoms (Upshaw, 2006). However,
mass changes of techniques, clinical methods, and principles have been made as many practitioners

Consequently psychotherapy for medicinal purposes have not succeeded in accomplishing acceptance
to this day. The correlation towards this statement is the explanation that practitioners refrain from
looking into the theoretical understanding that psychological hypnosis is nothing other than a natural
process, which in this case, is often perceived to be impossible for students to learn and to demonstrate
the psychological changes thoroughly in order to practice and engage the skilful needs to interpret a
hypnotist. The first half of the 20th century ingrained hypnosis in the public perception as a form of
mind control, and the tool of spiritual seekers looking for past lives (Upshaw, 2006). Oftentimes,
surgeons would use hypnosis as a form of surgical anaesthetics to alter the patient into the desired
trance. This frequent treatment occurred without the use of medicinal anaesthesia by clinicians to
relieve the pain before undergoing a surgical procedure. Along the previous years, the theory of
hypnosis has made drastic changes in prospect, however the potential outcome on whether hypnosis
should be treated in a negative way, or positive way varies over farther

Avatar, By James Cameron
Avatar is one of those profound movies with a deep meaning that strikes different emotions of the
audience, which they might have not known they had. It hit most of the questionable topics that are
mostly unspeakable now. Avatar is a spectacular movie written and directed by James Cameron. The
movie is set in a breathtaking alien world called Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na vi race. At
first, they are viewed as a primitive wild, race but in reality they are more highly evolved than the
audience would expect. Because of the rich properties that the land Pandora holds, it attracted the
Resources Development Admiration (RDA) Company. They at first were viewed purely as a research
company but that was not their only intention. Because of the toxic air in Pandora, the RDA
Corporation developed a hybrid mixture of humans and the Na vi to be able to live and move around
Pandora. This hybrid form is known as Avatar. As one of the Avatars falls in love with a Na vi he
obligates himself to help save her world. James Cameron uses this movie to show the inhumane
activities from our history, which suggests the story may be a metaphor: Avatar, as a metaphor, has a
compelling message which reinforces a strong theme of imperialism; the message suggests a
dangerous precedence of invasion, exploitation, and greed.
Invasion is a central element which is shown early in the story, and signifies the beginning of the
tension filled, rising action. Invasion is also a strong part of

Compare the way love is presented in Sonnet 43 and Ghazal
Both poems, Sonnet 43 and Ghazal convey emotions and passionate feelings of love in different ways.
Sonnets and Ghazals are poem that are meant to express strong feelings of love. Khalvati and Barrett
Browning chose them to illustrate their loving feelings to their lovers. Barrett Browning does not
correctly carry out all the rules of Sonnets in her poem which gives an effect that she would do
anything for her lover and that there are no rules to their love, whereas Khalvati does not break any of
rules in Ghazal, this might, perhaps mean that her love is unrequited and that she would follow all the
rules to get the attention of the person she loves.

ordinary like the sun, but its continuous since the light keeps shining day and night, which is why she
uses the candlelight to represent the light she has for him is still on at night. Another image that
Barrett Browning conveys is I love thee freely, as men strive for Right, I love thee purely, as they turn
from Praise . This line shows that her love for him is of her own free choice and she compares it to the
nationalists that fight for their countries, indicating that their love is as strong as a person s love is to
their country. Barrett Browning also says, I love thee with the passion, put to use/In my old greifs...

Rhetorical Devices In The Great Influenza By John Barry
What is scientific research without competent scientists? John M. Barry s The Great Influenza,
characterizes scientific research as a commendable venture. Barry uses rhetorical strategies such as
repetition, compelling diction, and vivid imagery. These tactics aid the reader s comprehension of the
author s purpose. The purpose is to convince readers that scientists require certain traits to overcome
the challenges of scientific research. The passage in reference suggests that John M. Barry holds
scientists in high regard. The use of repetition in the passage from The Great Influenza emphasizes the
admirable work of scientists and enhances the overall praising tone. The courage of successful
scientists is referred to several times throughout the passage. In lines 8 to 10, the author s use of the
word uncertain in consecutive sentences with anaphora can be linked to the repetition of the word
courage in lines 9 to 10. The eager acceptance of uncertainty leads to bravery in the world of science.
This appeals to the reader s perception of bravery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barry identifies the obstacles a scientist must conquer in this passage. When describing the movement
of a scientist throughout their field, he uses the words forcefully and aggressively . The use of this
diction persuades the reader of the difficult work of scientific research and the strength of scientists.
The phrases grunt work and tedious work in line 37 describe the strenuous workload of a scientist.
The field of scientific research can be viewed as a frontier but the author takes this comparison further.
In lines 25 to 29, the scientific field is likened to the wilderness. This descriptive diction highlights the
uncertainty mentioned throughout the account and emphasizes the depth of scientific research.
Throughout the passage, diction is used as a tool to persuade the reader that scientific research is

Drug Trafficking And Its Effects On America
In regard to Latin America, this area is a crucial geographical zone for drug trafficking and production.
Due to the location, the drug trade has found its perfect home, vast mountains and forests enable huge
farms to produce and ship drugs to any region they want. Whether it is Colombia, Peru or one of the
many countries found to be in this vast collection of drug trafficking, it is apparent that they all share
similar geographies that allow the trade to continue. As a result of this, countries in this region have
been subjugated to many imperialistic like efforts to eradicate this growing issue, regardless of
involvement. Through the use of diplomacy and past military intervention, the U.S. and other
countries have tried to keep a grip on the ever growing drug ring surrounding this area. Unfortunately,
it has become evident that the effort given by the U.S. is not enough to combat this ever growing and
secure market. Drug trafficking first started to show itself in Latin America during the years from the
1960s to 1970s, when the use of drugs began to become more popular throughout the youth of this
period ( Crandal ). During this time, the people in these exporting countries started to see a large
growth in the revenues brought upon by the trafficking, and rural communities began to supply more
and more drugs, beginning with Marijuana, but eventually becoming a much larger exporter of
cocaine( Drug Trafficking ). Cocaine began to seem like the perfect drug to traffic

In addition, it wrongly allocated its indirect costs at volume bases. The use of process technology
mentioned in the case led to an increase in factory overheads Since direct labor hours was not a cost
driver of them, allocating its large proportion of fixed factory overheads and other indirect batch level
costs on the basis of DLHs in this cost system did not accurately measure how resources were being
used. As a result, these inaccurate allocations would have significant costs to Elkay. Moreover, it
disregarded its cost structure in which most costs were fixed that would not vary in the short run and
should be allocated based on its practical capacity. By using the actual sales volume as the allocation
base for allocating its large corporate overheads, this standard costing system in fact over pricing its
products for its actual productivity was lower than the practical capacity under the intense
competition. As a consequence of all problem within the standard costing system, PPD urgently

Tactical maps are usually used to predict a new crime in a series or spree or identify where the

Plant Breeding Personal Statement
My objective as a plant breeder is to improve the quality and sustainability (both environmental and
economic) of life on Earth by developing plants that fit better into the natural world and produce more
with less. This is not a task that any individual can undertake alone or that will ever be finished, as
new challenges and opportunities constantly arise. Towards my objective I work with partners with
diverse skill sets, interests, and backgrounds. Among my most important partners, leading to some of
my most significant and longest lasting impacts, are students, whom I learn from and also teach.
Teacher, mentor and role model The last few years have been an exciting time for plant breeders.
Many PhD graduates are being hired by industry six months or more before they graduate at close to
six figure salaries. This demonstrates strong demand for these students. As I educate more students to
work in industry, my teaching goals, philosophies, and strategies, have continuously evolved.
Furthermore, new technologies, tools and findings are rapidly changing how plant breeding is

need to get through the two years worth or data they have and verify its accuracy. They also need to
make sure that the data they collect in the future is reliable accurate information. In the past there were
not any checks and balances on data accuracy. They need to have a system that can gather the

they need to take a look at the current systems they are using and make sure they can integrate

Royal Stuart Family Influence On Macbeth
William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Macbeth was heavily influenced through its setting, characters,
and subject matter by the Royal Stuart Family, which became the first dynasty to rule both Scotland
and England. Many of the names used in this play are actually referencing real members of the Stuart
family who ruled at one point and time. The name Macbeth is actually borrowed from a former king in
the Stuart Family named Macbeth, who took over the throne after coincidently killing his cousin, that
happened to be the King, and also happened to be named Duncan. Shakespeare may have taken the
names from history, but what transpired in the play between the characters of Macbeth and Duncan,

Symptoms And Treatment Of Retinoblastoma
Cancer comes in many forms and can attack just about anyone. Some cancers take more time to grow,
spread and show signs of attack, but it is very important for everyone to be very careful and cautious
because anyone can be a victim for this cruel cancer. Retinoblastoma is one of the cancers that can
become very fatal to someone s vision if not treated. Retinoblastoma is caused when the cancer cells
start to grow with no control. Cells can become cancer cells in any part of the body so it is very
essential for it to be treated as soon as possible. It can also extend to any other parts of the body.
Retinoblastoma is started in the retina of the eye and is most common in children.
The very first thing anyone should do when they are diagnosed with cancer is to consult with their
doctor about treatment plans. Retinoblastoma has many treatment options for the patient. One of the
main treatments of retinoblastoma is surgery. If the retinoblastoma is detected while it is a small
tumor, surgery is not necessary. If the tumor is not found in time and is quite large, the eye s vision has
most likely been already damaged. If this is ever the case, then there is a procedure called,
enucleation, and this procedure removes the whole eye and a part of the optic nerve that was
connected. Meanwhile, during the enucleation procedure, an orbital implant is put in, taking the place
of the eye. The orbital implant contains contents such as, silicone or hydroxyapatite. This substance is

Wider Professional Practice Essay
Task 1 Wider Professional Practice We were selected to deliver a learning activity on the concept of
Professionalism in the LLS.
Tasked to investigate the meaning of professionalism, using the perspective of organisations such as
the Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), the training and Development Agency (TDA), Institute of
Learning (IfL) and also considering the broader context of business. In order to broaden the scope of
research the group were allocated specific tasks. We gathered the definition of professionalism from a
eight separate sources such as traditional dictionaries, the internet, business sources, including
government bodies interpretations. This was beneficial as I learned the range of definitions and how ...

In the findings it was clear that predominately the individuals felt that the presentation, the group
activity was fit for purpose. The group aim was to ensure we structured the presentation in a
comprehensive way and at the same time handout more than enough information for the individuals to
have and read in there own time.
I understand that a level of professionalism is an important part to the role of a teacher and although it
is incorporated in the standards, guidelines and policies of organizations, is often not implemented nor
highlighted in practice. Certainly in respect to my currently college and I feel this acts as a restraint on
my progression and my ability to be professional .
The importance of this subject I feel goes beyond what a teacher may know, but if they lack a clear
understanding of professionalism they are missing a broad area of the profession.
As teaching is such a demanding profession, careful consideration needs to be given to how effort is
distributed so that every student gets equal attention. As a professional it is important that consistency
is maintained. When teaching students they will need to know what the learning objectives are so I
clearly explained at the beginning of the lesson and recapped at the end. These are some of the
patterns of behaviour that I have adapted in my practice. I have

Seymour Police Department Case Study
Problem
At the Seymour Police Department, few officers have been afforded the opportunity to be assigned to
a full time community policing position during their tenure. Historically, staffing the community
policing position has suffered as a result of limited manpower and budgetary constraints. Inconsistent
offerings in the community policing position, has adversely affected interactions with businesses and
citizens. The absence of consistently employing structured, interactive community policing strategies
within the Town of Seymour has unveiled challenges. Improving public confidence has been difficult
due to the wavering engagement of the police department in the community. A new initiative
involving all department personnel would benefit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During such embattled times when the public s confidence in our nation s law enforcement officers is
being sensationalized by media outlets, it is only prudent to embrace a sense of responsibility of
refuting these negative stereotypes. By having constructive relations outside of typical police/public
investigative encounters, police officers will enjoy an increased sense of trust and standing within the
communities they police (President s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, 2015). In applying this
principle, the Seymour Police Department will see improvements in community relations. By
implementing S.O.L.V.E., statistically the number of citizen contacts for the department will
compound exponentially revealing a positive outcome for all involved. In committing to this
community policing initiative, the Seymour Police Department will serve as a model for other
agencies to emulate. The S.O.L.V.E. initiative is a tremendous step toward remaining dedicated to the
mission of the Seymour Police Department while providing the highest quality policing service
possible to the residents of

The Constitution And The Law
Our Constitution is over two centuries old and since the birth of it as early as 1803 the Supreme Court
defined its role and power in the case, Marbury v. Madison, 1803, establishing the authority to define
what the law is. Thus, if the law is confusing, it is up to the courts to interpret the law through the
process of judicial review. There is much controversy as to whether or not judges are following the
laws as written or imposing their personal preferences and rewriting law to suit themselves. Ackerman
believes it s a good thing that formal amendment is so hard; otherwise, the Constitution would become
a mess, full of details signifying little, (Ackerman, 2007 p. 1743). There are opposing viewpoints as to
the approach and evolving perspectives in the decisions made by our judges. I will analysis the
opposing proponents, originalists and Living Constitutionalists, viewpoints in their interpretation of
the Constitution and present their arguments in relation to their perspective on the Constitution. In
addition, I will apply their interpretational philosophies in the case Griswold v. Connecticut and
ascertain the impact of their philosophies to the outcome of the case. The originalists, one of the two
opposing proponents, believe in the theory of interpretation, that views the Constitution s provisions
mean what the framers and the citizens understood then to mean, (Strauss, 2010). In other words, the
actual meaning of the provision governs if the original meaning of

A Report On Child Care
A mother picks up her three year old son early from child care after concerns of a sudden onset of a
fever upon waking up from naptime. She was informed that he was fine in the morning playing as
usual and did not appear to be out of sorts as far as how he was acting. Diet was normal and nothing
different was giving to him for lunch or morning snack After the set naptime was up the child seemed
to have felt hotter than normal with a temperature of ninety nine point seven degrees Fahrenheit and
some sweating concerned the sitter. Initially she believed he might just have early signs of the flu or
strep and decided to give acetaminophen (Tylenol) to reduce the fever and see in the morning how he
feels. Through the course of the night the child wakes up with aches and pains and small bumps on his
face. First thing in the morning a call is made to the child s pediatrician for the first available
appointment. An initial assessment was taken by the nurse revealing more information. The mother
said the child care is out of a neighbor s house where they watch around five kids ranging in age from
six months four years old. Immunization records are not required by her and mom admits she has
neglected staying with the recommended schedule and does not know the exact shots her son has
received. The mother also noted that the week prior she noticed one of the children had bumps on their
arms and legs, however she thought they might just be insect bites. The nurse then takes vitals

Military Bases Analysis
I believe the primary purpose of having military bases in different countries such as colombia or
afghanistan is so that the United States will be able to respond to events that could arise but would
take longer to respond to from the United States itself.I think they mainly focus on a more quick
response time but they do also contribute to peace and stability by being that close to a certain place. I
think the bases are less important in the modern day since we have missiles capable of traveling miles
and the ability to communicate around the world in an instant. I think the amount of bases should be
cut down but be more equipped with more people and be evenly spread out between countries to raise
potential response times to certain events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conflict against North Korea may also rise although I don t think so since terrorism isn t a tactic they
could use being isolated and the United States would use Massive Retaliation if that would happen.
Army should always have the most budget since it s the most common form of conflict at least for
now. It was 1940 1970 I would oppose family to serve even though though that was the most needed
time of people but nowadays conflict is a lot lower than it was and I think it would be fine for
someone to serve. As far as military i would say that they do share my views but the political impact
on the military, I would say that they don t. It s beginning to get less patriotic to serve the Military just
because of the ending of the Cold War in 1990 and the decline of terrorism but that s not to say that
serving the United States does bring a certain pride for your country. Patriotism for me means that you
are willing to give up your time and custom to serve a country that you really believe in. unfortunately
patriotism is decreasing i feel like since events such as the 9/11 have been more and more forgotten.
We shouldn t rely on specific regions of the country to supply troops because that would be unfair but
of course there will be less volunteering troops

Masculine Vs. Feminine Power in The Good Earth
Masculine Versus Feminine Power In many cultures, even today, there are stereotypes about women;
i.e. that their job is to cook and clean, or that they are not as strong as men are. Many people would
probably admit that they view men as tougher individuals whose responsibility is to protect and put
food on the table. This theme of the male versus female power constitutes as prevalent in both Things
Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and The Good Earth by Pearl Buck. These authors intricately weave this
idea into their novels through their characters specific duties, their characters behaviors and emotions,
and the way children are viewed and treated according to gender. Both novels are set in the late 19th,
early 20th century, but take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both novels characterize men as the hard workers, but it is clear the women also have many difficult
tasks expected of them. It is true that personality differs from person to person, but to Okonkwo, only
certain behaviors and emotions are acceptable for a man. He seems to regard all other emotions and
behaviors as too womanly. Achebe characterizes Okonkwo as one who has a fiery temper, and
Okonkwo is even given the nickname Roaring Flame . Okonkwo strived to hate everything his father
had loved. One of those things was gentleness and another was idleness (Achebe 11). Okonkwo s
wives are truly terrified of him and therefore they remain very soft spoken, and do not show their
emotions often. Wang Lung also shows his temper, and hides other emotions. Such as when O lan s
first child is a boy, he is overjoyed but does not outwardly express it. O lan, being a woman, must hide
her true feelings. For example, when Wang Lung demands for her pearls, But O lan returned to the
beating of his clothes and when tears dropped slowly and heavily from her eyes she did not put up her
hand to wipe them away; only she beat more steadily.. (Buck 135). Both novels characterize the male
protagonists as angry men, with gentle and quiet wives. Most parents would like to say that they do
not have a favorite child, but to the Ibo children, it is a normal thing for boys to be more valuable than
girls are. Okonkwo expects his boys to be strong clansmen like himself, and is extremely

David Sedaris Laugh Kokaburra
Laugh Kookaburra . Even the name sounds intriguing. An essay of only about 3300 words, and yet
more powerful and thoughtful then some work 100 times as long. David Sedaris, the author and a
professional writer to boot, submitted this story as an essay to the popular magazine and blog, The
New Yorker, in August of 2009. He has written a number or essays, plays, and the like, and has a
recognizable style in similar pieces of his work. Laugh Kookaburra is a complex tale that is written in
this unique style; which is that of a simple tale that draws the reader in. It starts off in the current day,
at a family gathering, which the events of remind the author of the events that took place.
At this gathering, Sedaris and his father argue about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He essentially writes this essay to tell another story. He wants to talk about his family, but in order to
fully explain the depth of the meaning of his of what he has written, he has to frame it in such a way to
give the reader a sense of awe surrounding the discovery of this story. The best way to describe it is to
liken it to a joke. He spends most of the time on the build up , and on the delivery . However, he winds
it all up with the punch line which culminates in the understanding of the build up by the reader.
Sedaris, from my limited reading and understanding, tends to follow this style in many of his essays.
He spends most of his time on the backstory, building his world, and in doing so describing his
character as a writer and as a person. This gets the reader used to his style quickly, they feel like they
understand and are a part of the story. However, when he delivers his punch line or his meaning right
at the end, which is usually only a few sentences or a paragraph or two, he sucker punch s the reader.
He hits the reader right in the stomach, which, when the stars clear from their eyes, lets them see the
full picture, or the point of his essay. In this instance, the story about Australia is what the reader
believes to be important, with really the only important part being the burner analogy. Sedaris then
throws the child story at you, with the direct quote I didn t have the analogy of the stovetop back then,
but

Different Types Of Wines By Ernest Hemingway Essay
Ernest Hemingway once said, Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the
most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater
range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing. More simply and
literally put, wine is an alcoholic beverage made from the fermented juice of grapes. Wine making and
drinking dates to thousands and thousands of years ago. In fact, the earliest record of vinification, or
wine making, is placed in the Bible in Genesis 9:20 21 where it states that Noah planted a vineyard
and drank wine produced from it around 4100 B.C. Over the years, people have experimented making
different types of wines with different kinds of grapes, which have been split into 4 categories. These
categories are Wild Vine, Indistinct Vitis Vinifera, Distinct Vitis Vinifera and Hybrids. These different
types of wines have been divided into 5 different classifications which are Table Wine, Sparkling
Wine, Dessert Wine, Fortified Wine and Aromatized Wine. Concurrently, these different wines are
made in several different locations around the world. The top producing wine country is Italy with the
United States falling not too far behind in 4th place. The wine that I will be focusing on in this paper
is Syrah while the location is Santa Barbara, California. I will also speak about Syrah in relation to
Santa Barbara and its significance on the region.

Maya Angelou s the Graduation
Maya Angelou s The Graduation Throughout life we go through many stepping stones, Maya Angelou
s autobiographical essay Graduation , was about more than just moving on to another grade. The
unexpected events that occurred during the ceremony enabled her to graduate from the views of a
child to the more experienced and sometimes disenchanting views of an adult. Upon reading the story
there is an initial feeling of excitement and hope which was quickly tarnished with the awareness of
human prejudices. The author vividly illustrates many mood changes she undergoes throughout the
story. From the outset of the story there is an overwhelming sense of hope that has enveloped the
entire community and school with the upcoming graduation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

All her perfect practice was now gone and the strain as they fumbled for their chairs began to crush
their pattern. The author was overcome with a presentiment of worse things to come. Don Leavy s
speech caused a fury to start boiling inside of the author due to the assumed fact that she has lost
control over her future. The accomplishment was nothing. , she has already been picked to act and
assume a certain role in society. Anything they aspired for other than maids or farmers was farcial and
presumtous. Along with this fury came frustration. This frustration is like a blanket that is too short to
cover you, no matter how much you stretch and pull, it never covers you whole. This is now what was
consuming her mind. For the moment she had to sit there and listen to the garbage filling the room,
listen to charges brought against my color. What had been beautiful, was now ugly. She hated the
human race for what it had become, a race or mass of people concreted on bias. The ceremony that
had started out as a night of hope had now become an eternity of hopelessness. Moving from a
childlike bliss to an awakening of the world s prejudice, the author makes the words take on flesh. The
story is made alive as she breathes life into a time that is unpleasant yet not void of hope. The hush
hush magic time of frills and gifts and congratulations disappeared when they were told the cold hard
`truth of their fate that some white man had already decided for them.

Scorching A Laminate Kitchen Counter
Laminate kitchen counters are easy to burn or scorch with a hot pan. To avoid damaging your kitchen
counter top, you should always use a trivet. However, if an accident does occur, you can try a few
different methods to fix the burn on a laminate kitchen counter. Step 1: Create a paste with baking
soda and water. Use steel wool to work the paste into the burned area, and lift the stain. TIP: If a
baking soda paste will not lift the stain on the counter, try using Ajax or Comet and water to create a
paste to attempt to lift the stain. Step 2: Use a sponge and water to remove the paste after you have
finished scrubbing. Dry the area with a rag. Step 3: Buff the kitchen with carnuaba wax to provide a
small layer of protection and restore shine to the area. TIP: If your laminate ... Show more content on

Sometimes you won t be able to buff the burn spot away. The pan could have burned through the layer
of laminate, making a serious mark that will not be able to be fixed by removing the burn marks. Step
1: Fill the depression in the kitchen counter top left by the burn with two part epoxy and a metal putty
knife. Clean the knife immediately after use. Allow the epoxy to harden for the full time
recommended by the manufacturer before continuing. TIP: Only mix enough two part epoxy for the
job, paying particular attention to the required proportions. Once mixed two part epoxy must be used
within 20 minutes: a chemical reaction, not outside air, is responsible for epoxy hardening. Step 2:
Sand the area with a fine grit sandpaper to remove any rough patches. Use a tack cloth or soft cloth to
remove any dust that was a result of the sanding. Step 3: Apply laminate sealant to the surface of the
epoxy patch and the surrounding kitchen counter to blend the sealant. TIP: If your kitchen counter
appears to be a bit worn, clean the rest of the kitchen counter thoroughly, then apply laminate sealant
to the entire surface. The sealant should restore the shine to the entire kitchen

Causes Of The Pueblo Revolt
Pueblo revolt
The Pueblo revolt was the changing point for the relationship between the Spanish and native
population and one of the earliest tragedies to befall the Natives at the time but to explain what lead to
the revolt we must step back into history and look at the events that lead to this.
The Spanish had been expanding their influence in the new world by conquering the empires and
peoples. Soon they would extend northward continuing to claim new land thereby building New
Spain. Starting in 1540 the Spanish moved into what would become New Mexico. With the Spanish
expansion came soldiers, missionaries, and settlers. These movements would lead to a confrontation
between the Pueblo people and the Spaniards known as the Tiguex War. The Tiguex War was
spearheaded by occurred during the winter of 1540 41. Leading the Spaniard troops was Francisco
Vásquez de Coronado. The Spanish attacked the 12 tribes of the region leading to a further breakdown
of Native and Spanish relations that would continue until 1598. Juan De Onate led a force of over 100
soldiers women children and Priests into the Rio Grande Valley attempting to start a Spanish
settlement. The establishment of this new settlement soon leads to another revolt between the Pueblo
and the Spaniards. This rebellion is known as the Tacoma Massacre. Under the command of Juan De
Onate, the Spanish soldiers killed and enslaved hundreds of Natives. Onate also ordered the right foot

The Pillars Of Analytics Scale
to 4 on the Pillars of Analytics scale (Davenport Harris 36), Hero has some room for improvement
based on acceptance by the entire resource group. At this point, 20% of the Hero team can
dynamically use the analytics we currently offer. For example, 2015 was the first year that we, as an
operations and sales team, had a dynamic forecasting plan. We took the top customers making up 80%
of our annual revenue and projected out their volume by SKU, by month and kept a rolling 12 months
of inventory planning based on each customer s growth objectives. Putting this plan together resulted
in an out of stock liability improvement of 15% and actual sales were within 1% of budget
projections. This project, a huge jump in our planning procedures, was completely facilitated by three
people in our organization that employs over fifty people. The issues above directly tie in to the
second pillar of Enterprise Wide Analytics. Although all departments have access to dynamic
analytical systems, most have zero interest in utilizing it. There have been several missed
opportunities for growth on analytical competition from the Operations side of the business. However,
with the success of the 2015 and 2016 forecasting models, the senior managers are working to align
efforts and optimize standard operating procedures that rely heavily on analytical tools. This proven
performance is slowly raising the bar for Senior Management commitment. Although there is work to
be done in respect to each of

  • 2. Character Development In Cathedral s Cathedral There are ample ways to describe and trace character development in. The setting in which a character resides, other present characters, and the tone in which those characters interact all guide a character s development. In individual stories, more specific things can be used to trace character development. In Cathedral, television plays a significant role in the development of narrator. At the beginning of the story, the narrator introduces conflict by stating his dislike for blind people. He sees the blind as dull, helpless beings. Before Robert arrives, the narrator applies these stereotypes to him. While expressing his dislike, the narrator confesses that [His] idea of blindness came from the movies. (34) This confession not only shows the narrator s ignorance, but also the impact of television on him. His ignorance leaves ample room for character development. The narrator continues to extend his disdain to Roberts wife, Beulah. He looks down upon their wedding, and comments on what a pitiful life [Beulah] must have led. (37) Although he made negative remarks about their marriage, learning of Beulah s death brought about sympathy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he draws, the narrator relaxes. When the television program ends, he stops to let Robert feel the page. The program s ending is notable because, usually, the narrator gives as much of his attention to the program as possible. However, spending time with Robert has taken over his interest. When Robert tells the narrator to close his eyes while drawing, the narrator does so and claims it was like nothing else in [his] life up to now. (46) The narrator experiences his own version of physical blindness, a disability he looked down upon in the beginning. The choice to keep his eyes closed, to stay blind, shows the narrator s growth by overcoming his ignorance and forming a connection with a person he once ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The common name of the crop in Ethiopia is tef. It was chosen for its cultural significance and it s importance Background In Ethiopia, about 4.9 million acres of land is devoted to its production every year. From 2003 2005 production statistics indicated that tef accounted for about 29% of the land and 20% of the gross grain production of all major cereal cultivation in the country (National Research Council). Eragrostis tef belongs to the grass family Poaceae, and is species of Eragrostis. It contains about 350 species and tef is the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of tef was quite crucial for the Abyssinians, since the amount of tef seed required to plant were hundreds of times smaller than that of wheat (Ingram). This productive potential and minimal time and seed requirements have protected them from hunger when their food supply was under attack from numerous invaders in the past. It was reported by Unger in 1866 that tef seeds were also found in the Egyptian Pyramid of Dashur in 3359 BC (National Research Council). Dried tef straws were suggested to have been used in the making of mud bricks used in the Pyramid of Dashur as well (Seyfu). The closest wild relative to tef is generally considered to be eragrostis pilosa this species is recorded as an annual growing weed from Eritrea and Northern regions of Ethiopia (Ingram). Vavilov has recognized Ethiopia as the center of origin and variety of tef (National Research Council). Due to the fact that several widespread and non widespread species of eragrostis, some of which are considered the wild relatives of tef, are found in Ethiopia. Since the genetic diversity for tef does not exist anywhere else in the world except in Ethiopia, confirms that tef originated and was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. A Case Study On South Florida Real Estate 7. A Case Study Let s imagine you have to sell a rather expensive condo in Hallandale Beach, Florida, which is essentially a middle class town right north of Miami with a splash of a luxury building here or there, and you happen to have this property for sale in one of those luxury buildings with the market price more than twice the average price around town. So, it is hard to think that a local interest would be extremely high, plus you know that a neighbor s apartment has been sitting on the market with a local real estate agent for a while without a good and solid offer, plus there is a bit of an issue with some banks to approve mortgages for this building. It is really time to think of reaching foreign investors in South ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The easiest and logical step is to search the Canadian field www.google.ca in English. Oh, no luck either, the competition is also very tough. French speaking Canadians from the province of Quebec love Florida and French at the same time. Searching Canadian Google in French for immobilier à Hallandale Beach Floride (the translation that we got from the free online translator and consider correct, but who knows?) we can see not so overcrowded environment, no big names and no paid ads at all which means that you can be a good appealing choice for about five million French Canadians if they see your condo for sale in French posted by a French speaking Canadian realtor. It could be the way to go. Canadian real estate prices had never fallen along with American because of much stronger mortgage approval rules in Canada, and just a couple of years ago Canadians used to borrow against their expensive homes in Canada to buy cheap Florida homes for their future retirement with this cash. Now the Florida real estate prices are going up; also the Canadian dollar was equal to the American buck a couple of years ago, which is not the case anymore as the world s low oil prices ... The changing lives is a transformational documentary about the lives of a few people on how they got out of addiction. It shows the process through their very compelling group therapy. But most importantly, what really caught me was the program for the women, that helped them with treatment when they were at the verge of losing their children. Body The group therapy was very compelling to me. I really saw that they were helping one another to get to the root of each other s problems, digging deep and peeling at the source. Some were very uncomfortable at first but once they saw that they had a lot of similarities with others, they slowly started opening up. The therapist was also going deep, but it was for a cause. • 8. The Supply Of Adenosine Triphosphate And Creatine... In Football, the muscles rely on three major systems to supply the energy needs the ATP/PC, glycolytic, and oxygen (anaerobic) energy systems. The ATP/PC system is not oxidative it does not utilize oxygen. Rather, this system creates energy through the utilization of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and creatine phosphate (CP). CP is created in the body and uses muscle strands as a way of storage. It is broken around chemicals (enzymes) to recover ATP, which is likewise stored in the muscle strands. Whenever ATP and is thus disintegrated, the outcome is a small burst of energy that triggers a muscle withdrawal. This is the system used for short bursts of high intensity work lasting approximately 10 seconds or less. The glycolytic system uses starches such as carbohydrates as fuel to create ATP for energy. This is a two stage system where glucose is separated to shape ATP and pyruvic corrosive or lactic acid. It is the system utilized for moderately brief times of high intensity work enduring just a couple of minutes. Following a couple of minutes of work, the amassing of lactic acid will achieve a point where physical torment and exhaustion will start to prevent good performance. This is alluded to as the lactate threshold. The aerobic oxidative system uses sugars, fats and proteins to produce ATP for energy. This is a three phase system comprised of many steps in preparation of the Aceytl CoA, the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain. The Krebs cycle and electron ... • 9. Are Financial Constraints an Important Determination in a... The Cash Flow Sensitivity of Sash Research Question Does the link between financial constraints and firms demand for liquidity can help us identify whether financial constraints are an important determinant of firm behavior. Contribution Previous scholars, Fazzari, Hubbard, and Petersen, proposed that investment activities of a firm is limited by the firm s financial situation, which is called financial constraints. When firms face financial constraints, the firm s investment cash flow sensitivity is high. When a firm face no financial constraints, its investment cash flow sensitivity is low. However this theory was doubtful by some scholars. In 1997, Kaplan and Zingales propose an exactly opposite theory. In 2001, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors further test the intuition of our argument by investigating firms propensity to save cash out of cash inflow over the business cycle. Result The authors use two alternative method to empirically model the cash flow sensitivity of cash. The first model only include proxies: cash flow and investment opportunities. The second model is estimated from a method in which a firm s decision to change its cash holdings is modeled as a function of a number of sources and uses of funds. The result reported in table III is related to the first model. The set of constrained firms shows significantly positive sensitivities of cash to cash flow sensitivities. The sensitivity estimates for constrained firms are between 0.051 and 0.062 and are all statistically significant at better than the 1% level. The result reported in table IV is related to the second model. This finding is consistent with the view that there are systematic difference between constrained and unconstrained firms in the way they conduct their cash policies. Paper s Findings By conducting this study, the authors conclude that financial constraints and firm s liquidity demand can help identify whether financial constraints can ... Psychologists had discovered the aristocracy and medical theories of hypnosis by introducing it into the course for curing psychiatric and physical illnesses. As the phenomena transforms throughout centuries, the origin of its term follows. Medical doctors in France have embraced the new term hypnotism by the late 1800s, although they had originally used the term mesmerism for the symptoms (Upshaw, 2006). The correlation towards this statement is the explanation that practitioners refrain from looking into the theoretical understanding that psychological hypnosis is nothing other than a natural process, which in this case, is often perceived to be impossible for students to learn and to demonstrate the psychological changes thoroughly in order to practice and engage the skilful needs to interpret a hypnotist. The first half of the 20th century ingrained hypnosis in the public perception as a form of mind control, and the tool of spiritual seekers looking for past lives (Upshaw, 2006). Oftentimes, surgeons would use hypnosis as a form of surgical anaesthetics to alter the patient into the desired trance. This frequent treatment occurred without the use of medicinal anaesthesia by clinicians to relieve the pain before undergoing a surgical procedure. Along the previous years, the theory of hypnosis has made drastic changes in prospect, however the potential outcome on whether hypnosis should be treated in a negative way, or positive way varies over farther ... Because of the rich properties that the land Pandora holds, it attracted the Resources Development Admiration (RDA) Company. They at first were viewed purely as a research company but that was not their only intention. Because of the toxic air in Pandora, the RDA Corporation developed a hybrid mixture of humans and the Na vi to be able to live and move around Pandora. This hybrid form is known as Avatar. As one of the Avatars falls in love with a Na vi he obligates himself to help save her world. James Cameron uses this movie to show the inhumane activities from our history, which suggests the story may be a metaphor: Avatar, as a metaphor, has a compelling message which reinforces a strong theme of imperialism; the message suggests a dangerous precedence of invasion, exploitation, and greed. Invasion is a central element which is shown early in the story, and signifies the beginning of the tension filled, rising action. Invasion is also a strong part of ... Compare the way love is presented in Sonnet 43 and Ghazal Both poems, Sonnet 43 and Ghazal convey emotions and passionate feelings of love in different ways. Sonnets and Ghazals are poem that are meant to express strong feelings of love. Khalvati and Barrett Browning chose them to illustrate their loving feelings to their lovers. Barrett Browning does not correctly carry out all the rules of Sonnets in her poem which gives an effect that she would do anything for her lover and that there are no rules to their love, whereas Khalvati does not break any of rules in Ghazal, this might, perhaps mean that her love is unrequited and that she would follow all the rules to get the attention of the person she loves. There is much controversy as to whether or not judges are following the laws as written or imposing their personal preferences and rewriting law to suit themselves. Different Types Of Wines By Ernest Hemingway Essay Ernest Hemingway once said, Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing. More simply and literally put, wine is an alcoholic beverage made from the fermented juice of grapes. Wine making and drinking dates to thousands and thousands of years ago. In fact, the earliest record of vinification, or wine making, is placed in the Bible in Genesis 9:20 21 where it states that Noah planted a vineyard and drank wine produced from it around 4100 B.C. • 32. Maya Angelou s the Graduation Maya Angelou s The Graduation Throughout life we go through many stepping stones, Maya Angelou s autobiographical essay Graduation , was about more than just moving on to another grade. The unexpected events that occurred during the ceremony enabled her to graduate from the views of a child to the more experienced and sometimes disenchanting views of an adult. Upon reading the story there is an initial feeling of excitement and hope which was quickly tarnished with the awareness of human prejudices. The author vividly illustrates many mood changes she undergoes throughout the story. From the outset of the story there is an overwhelming sense of hope that has enveloped the entire community and school with the upcoming graduation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All her perfect practice was now gone and the strain as they fumbled for their chairs began to crush their pattern. The author was overcome with a presentiment of worse things to come. Don Leavy s speech caused a fury to start boiling inside of the author due to the assumed fact that she has lost control over her future. The accomplishment was nothing. , she has already been picked to act and assume a certain role in society. Anything they aspired for other than maids or farmers was farcial and presumtous. Along with this fury came frustration. This frustration is like a blanket that is too short to cover you, no matter how much you stretch and pull, it never covers you whole. This is now what was consuming her mind. For the moment she had to sit there and listen to the garbage filling the room, listen to charges brought against my color. What had been beautiful, was now ugly. She hated the human race for what it had become, a race or mass of people concreted on bias. The ceremony that had started out as a night of hope had now become an eternity of hopelessness. Moving from a childlike bliss to an awakening of the world s prejudice, the author makes the words take on flesh. The story is made alive as she breathes life into a time that is unpleasant yet not void of hope. The hush hush magic time of frills and gifts and congratulations disappeared when they were told the cold hard `truth of their fate that some white man had already decided for them. ... • 33. Scorching A Laminate Kitchen Counter Laminate kitchen counters are easy to burn or scorch with a hot pan. To avoid damaging your kitchen counter top, you should always use a trivet. However, if an accident does occur, you can try a few different methods to fix the burn on a laminate kitchen counter. Step 1: Create a paste with baking soda and water. Use steel wool to work the paste into the burned area, and lift the stain. TIP: If a baking soda paste will not lift the stain on the counter, try using Ajax or Comet and water to create a paste to attempt to lift the stain. Step 2: Use a sponge and water to remove the paste after you have finished scrubbing. Dry the area with a rag. Step 3: Buff the kitchen with carnuaba wax to provide a small layer of protection and restore shine to the area. TIP: If your laminate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes you won t be able to buff the burn spot away. The pan could have burned through the layer of laminate, making a serious mark that will not be able to be fixed by removing the burn marks. Step 1: Fill the depression in the kitchen counter top left by the burn with two part epoxy and a metal putty knife. Clean the knife immediately after use. Allow the epoxy to harden for the full time recommended by the manufacturer before continuing. TIP: Only mix enough two part epoxy for the job, paying particular attention to the required proportions. Once mixed two part epoxy must be used within 20 minutes: a chemical reaction, not outside air, is responsible for epoxy hardening. Step 2: Sand the area with a fine grit sandpaper to remove any rough patches. Use a tack cloth or soft cloth to remove any dust that was a result of the sanding. Step 3: Apply laminate sealant to the surface of the epoxy patch and the surrounding kitchen counter to blend the sealant. TIP: If your kitchen counter appears to be a bit worn, clean the rest of the kitchen counter thoroughly, then apply laminate sealant to the entire surface. The sealant should restore the shine to the entire kitchen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. The Pillars Of Analytics Scale to 4 on the Pillars of Analytics scale (Davenport Harris 36), Hero has some room for improvement based on acceptance by the entire resource group. At this point, 20% of the Hero team can dynamically use the analytics we currently offer. For example, 2015 was the first year that we, as an operations and sales team, had a dynamic forecasting plan. We took the top customers making up 80% of our annual revenue and projected out their volume by SKU, by month and kept a rolling 12 months of inventory planning based on each customer s growth objectives. Putting this plan together resulted in an out of stock liability improvement of 15% and actual sales were within 1% of budget projections. This project, a huge jump in our planning procedures, was completely facilitated by three people in our organization that employs over fifty people. The issues above directly tie in to the second pillar of Enterprise Wide Analytics. Although all departments have access to dynamic analytical systems, most have zero interest in utilizing it. There have been several missed opportunities for growth on analytical competition from the Operations side of the business. However, with the success of the 2015 and 2016 forecasting models, the senior managers are working to align efforts and optimize standard operating procedures that rely heavily on analytical tools. This proven performance is slowly raising the bar for Senior Management commitment. Although there is work to be done in respect to each of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
