An Analysis Of Stone, Patton, And Sheila
Stone, Patton, and Sheila, in their book Difficult Conversations, explain that any conversation consists
of three simultaneous conversations the What Happened? , Feelings, and Identity Conversations. The
Flint Water Crisis is an example of a difficult conversation, a conflict with several difficult
conversations happening all at once: conversations between Flint s residents and government officials,
between different government agencies, and among residents organizing resistance and advocacy.
Each conversation contains all the three conversations described by Stone et al. The What Happened
Conversation is based on perception and deals with three assumptions: truth, intentions, and blame.
The conflict arises on a disagreement of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unconscious interpretation of conflict is the underlying concept of the What Happened
Conversation. Most difficult conversations involve disagreement about what has happened or what
should happen (Stone, Patton, Sheila, 2010, p.7); this is based on the individual s perception of what
has happened. Loosely translated, this concept refers to Lewicki, Barry, Sander s analysis of cognitive
bias Ignoring Other s Cognitions theme. In the What Happened Conversation we focus on our own
perception and ignore other s cognitions, which allows negotiators to simplify their thinking about
otherwise complex processes; ... and causes a failure to recognize the contingent nature of both sides
behaviors and responses (Lewicki, Barry, Sanders, 2015, p. 156).
Interactions between people most often rely on truth assumptions that I am right. But the truth for each
person differs since it depends on the individual s interpretation of the situation. Therefore, rightness
is based not on the ultimate truth but on conflicting perceptions, interpretations, and values (Stone et
al., 2010). Perception and cognition is based on one s own beliefs, stereotyping, and prejudices. All
parties involved in the Flint water crisis are influenced by their belief system which unconsciously led
to the interpretation of events and

Communication And Language In Babel
Babel, 2006, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu is a mosaic film about an accident in Morocco
which connects four groups of people on three different continents. The word Babel is derived from
the biblical story of the Tower of Babel and basically comes down to one common language being
split into multiple languages causing a confusion in speech (Fairchild, 2017). According to Iñárritu,
Babel is about how everyday lives are affected by walls, miscommunication and barriers (Michael,
2014). However, by not directly referencing the bible anywhere in the film, there is a sense of
ambiguity, giving the audience the space to come to their own conclusion about what the messages of
the film are. This paper will be looking at the themes of communication, prejudice and western
superiority and the idea that humans have more in common than we realise. These ideas are helped
along by film language elements such as nonlinear narrative, cinematography techniques such as
camera angles and close ups and editing techniques such as parallel editing and match cuts.
Communication or lack thereof often leading to confusion is a major theme raised in the film Babel
and is delivered through elements such as narrative, parallel editing and repetition. Not only do the
characters suffer from the inability to communicate due to their various language barriers but so too do
the audience. The filmmakers on various occasions in particular with the character Chieko have
refrained from using

A Study On The Midwifery Related Subject Of My Choice
Introduction
The aim of this essay is to describe a piece of research on a midwifery related subject of my choice.
The subject that I have chosen to look at is teenage pregnancy and poverty and whether or not there is
a correlation between them. I have chosen this because I have an interest in teenage pregnancy as it is
a major public health concern with in the United Kingdom and would therefore like to develop my
knowledge and understanding of the topic. In 2008 there were 38,750 under 18 conceptions, a rate of
40.5 per 1,000 females aged 15 17. Nearly half (49.7 per cent) of the pregnancies were terminated and
7,123 under 16 conceptions, a rate of 7.8 per 1,000 females aged 13 15. Over half (61.8 per cent) of
the pregnancies ended in abortion. (The Family Planning Association. (2011). Teenagers: sexual health
and behaviour factsheet. Available: www.fpa.org.uk/factsheets/teenagers sexual health 7behaviour.
Last accessed 23rd March 2015.) Firstly I am going to explain my research methods and how I chose
the research paper that I have used. I am then going to summarise my findings and finally assess what
I have learnt from this assignment.
Body
Teen pregnancy is an important issue for several reasons. For example, there are health risks for the
child born to teenage mothers and the child is more likely to suffer health, social, and emotional
problems than children born to older mothers. It is also a possibility for teenagers who become
pregnant to be at an increased risk for

Traditional Medicine And Modern Medicine
Since 7,000 BCE humans were discovered to have used primitive methods to practice medicine and
overtime it s become more sophisticated. Medicine, in general, is the science and practice of the
diagnosis, treatments, and prevention of disease. It encompasses a variety of evolved methods to
maintain and rejuvenate health. When aspects of traditional medicine such as acupuncture and herbal
remedies are combined with modern scientific medicine, complications regarding a person s mental or
physical condition may be resolved in an affordable, ethical, and effective manner.
Today in America the cost of goods in general is steadily rising while their earnings are disporinate to
this increase leaving many in debt. Statistics show that healthcare is the number one cause of personal
bankruptcy and is responsible for more collections than credit cards. According to Olga Khazan of the
Atlantic Roughly 40 percent of Americans owe collectors money for times they were sick (2).
Collectively, Americans are alarmingly paying more for treatments due to hidden costs in the initial
procedure. A solution for this would involve incorporating traditional medicine with modern scientific
medicine. Importantly, to clear up any misconception about what defines modern, traditional , and
alternative medicine a few lines will be dedicated. The World Health Organization states that
Traditional medicine comprises medical aspects of traditional knowledge that developed over

Mark Menis-Kyleer Analysis
During World War II, the allied forces planned an invasion against the German army at the beaches of
Normandy, France. With this assault still hours away, the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division
Paratroopers were already executing night drops behind enemy lines. An article published at
www.warhistoryonline.com states, the paratroopers were to disrupt the German defense lines and use
the element of surprise while the main force landed the beaches (Budanovic). Foggy weather made
drop zone accuracy difficult for the 82nd, but they adapted and did their best to complete their
mission. This same determination resonates in the life of a more recent veteran of the 82nd Airborne,

Life Coaching Misconceptions Essay
Common Misconceptions Of Life Coaching
By Christina Cordle
Oct 20, 2012
Life coaching has become the popular method of improving the lives of workers and ordinary
individuals. For years, it is used by numerous individuals to correct their problems, to achieve their
goals and to boost success.
It becomes a popular byword not only in communities, but companies as well because they believed of
the power of coaching to change lives and to obtain the desired goals they want. At present,
supervisors and managers no longer criticize their subordinates, but they coach them to motivate them.
What is life coaching?
It is a method wherein professional coaches work with clients to address specific personal problems,
personal projects, transitions, business successes, conditions in life and relationships. It is different
from mentoring, therapy, consulting and therapy because it focuses on the root cause of the problem.

What are these misconceptions?
Below are the common misconceptions about life coaching:
1. Life coaching is a therapy where individuals can rely on it for counseling and psychotherapy. In
reality, coaching is not therapy, but a method to help individuals achieve their goals.
2. It can fix problems of individuals. It is a misconception because coaching is just a tool and a
catalyst to help individuals find solutions to their own problems. It is not life coaching itself that
solved these problems, but it is the person involved who has the responsibility to address their actions.
3. It is comparable to mentoring that gives individuals advice. It is not similar to mentoring because it
does not give advice, but raises the awareness of individuals on their capability and capacity to solve
their problems and to achieve their

Andrew Carnegie was born into poverty in Scotland and immigrated to the United States with his

make ends meet until Carnegie was offered a job at a cotton mill as a bobbin boy, changing spools of

Carnegie earned a lot of money from his investments and quit his job with the railroad to focus on his
business affairs, which included frequent traveling to Europe to sell railroad bonds. On one trip,
Andrew Carnegie met the English inventor, Sir Henry Bessemer, who had invented a new process for
making high quality steel efficiently and cheaply. After meeting Bessemer, Carnegie decided to
concentrate his investments in the steel industry. He opened a steel company in Pittsburgh and adapted
his steel mills to use the Bessemer process. The process allowed Andrew Carnegie to manufacture
steel efficiently and cheaply. To increase manufacturing efficiency even further, Carnegie began the
vertical and horizontal integration of the steel industry, which allowed Carnegie Steel Company to
save money as it expanded. He quickly became one of the richest people in history due to his hard

Braveheart Independence
The country of Scotland was conquered following the death of Alexander III. With no heir to the
throne, Scotland was easily captured and taken over by the King of England. The film Braveheart is an
adaption of these historical events. In the film, the national identity of the Scottish people evolved in
comparison from the beginning of the film to the end of it. There had always been a huge chasm
between the different classes. With peasants on one end and the nobles on the other. This class
separation resulted in the people of these groups to hold different views. During most of the film, the
peasants all listened to what William Wallace had to say and followed the idea he had planted in their
heads. The idea being, freedom. The nobles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This resulted in people not identifying with people from other villages situated all across Scotland.
Each individual fought their own battles for their own benefits rather than the entire country as a
whole. Wallace and his clan started the fighting to avenge the death of Murron, Wallace s wife.
Wallace leads his can to kill the English garrison in his hometown to get a point across. This moment
of power sparks the idea of rebelling against the English. As the legend of Wallace grew, so did the
support. Clans from all over Scotland decided to join him in his fight that originally started as revenge,
but transformed into a fight for freedom. As more and more battles were won, the legend of Wallace
travelled all across the vast lands of Scotland. The death of the leader of the rebellion didn t stop the
movement towards freedom there. William Wallace became a martyr to the people of Scotland.
Towards the end of the film, there was a sense of patriotism towards the country, which wasn t present

The Industrial Revolution is one of the most influential periods of time in history. The difference
between the factory and the domestic systems and how they emerged are what make this time period
the most interesting. It s bewildering how in such little time we went from working at home by
ourselves producing very little to working on a large scale and producing many thing at once.
The change from the Domestic system to the factory system was caused by the people s need of
material things faster. One reason this whole ordeal started was because of the enclosure acts. The

The study has proved its basic proposition that A Passage to India is a colonialist discourse and as one
form of Orientalism has strengthened and reinforced the stereotype image of India and Indians. The
study has shown that Forster has not made even a passing reference to the oppression and the
pandemic brutalities of the natives by the colonizers. He has not mentioned any Indian leader or the
struggle put up by the Indians to get rid of their oppressors. The study has also shown the deep link
between culture and imperialism. The Indians are shown to have assimilated the culture of their
masters .The Indians are portrayed as ashamed of themselves, of their culture and of their identity.
Throughout the novel, the Indians are presented as lesser people, who cannot manage their affairs like
mature, responsible individuals. This is the projection of the European hegemonic assumptions, which
have been exposed by the present study. The analysis also has highlighted the portrayal of the internal
divisions and infighting among the Indians, on social and religious grounds. This was meant to justify

Tybalt Capulet Quotes
In Shakespeare s most famous play, Romeo and Juliet, the character Tybalt Capulet comes across as a
belligerent and cocky however loyal young man. Tybalt is the nephew of Lady Capulet and is Juliet s
cousin. Although he only appears for a few times throughout the play, Tybalt is a critical characters
that propels the plot forward with his unlikable, extreme actions.
Tybalt first emerges in Act 1 Scene 1, at a bickering between his fellow kinsman and their enemy the
Montagues. As opposed to Benvolio Montague who tries to defuse the conflict, Tybalt is quick to draw
his sword and challenge Benvolio into a fight. His hostility is clear through his words and actions, as
shown in the dialogues What, art thou drawn upon these heartless hinds? Turn thee, Benvolio, look
upon thy death ... What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montagues and

seemingly condemned America. Snippets of the reverend s speech sparked controversy in 2008 due to
the fact that President Obama was still running for the democratic nominee for the Presidential
Election. Doubts about Obama began to form due to his association with Wright. Can the country trust
a man who associates with a person that hate the country? As a response to the reverend s statement,
Obama gave his speech A More Perfect Union to address the controversy, strongly putting Wright s
speech in perspective and settling the controversies about himself. Reverend Wright s sermon went
viral due to the fact he says, Goddamn America. In the short clips of his sermon, Reverend Wright was
riling up the members of his church as he talks about the inequalities African Americans have to face
in the country. The statements made in the short clip anger and may even have sparked some fear in
people. How dare Wright to have insulted his own country and states that it was in the Bible and did
Obama share the same views as his minister? How will these radical views effect Obama s decision as
President if he wins the election? In Obama s speech, he ultimately disagrees with Reverend Wright s
statements and explains Wright s background to give some context of the sermon and also reassures
the country of his qualifications as a nominee for the Presidential Election. I agree with Obama

Anthrophysiology Of Stress
Stress is what happens when the body responds to a threat. When the brain feels that the body is being
threatened or the brain feels pressure the brain causes the nervous system to release stress hormones
and awakens or alarms the body to create stress. Stress can also be explained as when you are
mentally or emotionally strained or tired from difficult or very demanding tasks. Another way to
define stress is when you feel as though something or someone is making you feel like everything is
very hard to overcome. Stress can create various threats such as raising blood pressure, can cause
stomach aches, shut down the immune system or slow it down, and it can also put you in more risk or
either having a stroke or a heart attack in a later period ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the body feels as though you are being approached with a challenging situation the adrenal gland
produces this hormone which then goes to the adrenal cortex and then that causes your brain to be
notified of this act of stress and causes your brain to react to it, this process with the adrenal gland can
react in just seconds. The adrenal glands are located in the area where the kidneys are they are actually
connected and after the Adrenal glands there is the adrenal cortex which is what makes the signal go
to your brain to make you feel stressed.
Adrenaline
Adrenaline is a hormone that is created in the adrenal glands especially in a condition of stress,
increasing the rate of the blood s circulation, breathing and is preparing the body or the bodies muscle
for exertion (exertion also known as preparing for a stressful or a very difficult decision or a difficult
task). Adrenaline may be also explained as an exhilarating feeling when you feel as though you are at
the edge often felt when either one is very happy, or a very stressed unreal feeling when you are very
tensed by a certain scenario.
What Causes Body Temperature to Change
There are many reasons why one s body temperature can either rise or decrease but some of the
reasons that have been searched for, they may be strange but true. One example is if you were to lie

Qualities Of Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey s reputation as a diva Mariah Carey (b. 1970) is one of the most worldwide famous and
best selling female singers in pop music industry who has been on stage since the early 1990s. As a
pop diva Mariah has earned a contrasting reputation. The pop star can be considered as an
extraordinarily talented person who with the power of her voice can convey the emotional nuances of
the music to her audience (Moohan, 2008, 163) and has extravagantly behavior and claims. Among
the essential factors which allowed Mariah Carey to gain her diva status there is a complex of
qualities: her significant voice, her songs authorship, image development, presentation in video clips
and on the media. First of all, it is important to point out that the singer possesses an exceptionally
beautiful voice, high soprano (Vincent, 2017), with the ability to sing in an outstanding way as she can
reach the higher notes than most of other singers. Her husky speaking voice presents a profound
contrast to her high singing voice, that consequently creates, as recorded, a vocal range spanning five
octaves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one of the interviews she tells the story about her talent and particularly whisper singing discovery
crediting her mother, an opera singer (Desantis, 2017), with her progress in singing (Mariahxlambily,

building a career as a singer. Later, at the age of 23, Mariah Carey married her Columbia Records boss
Tommy Mottola, 20 years her senior, who had seen the young singer s potential to become a top star.
Their meeting marked Mariah s rise to fame as he turned out to have made her career development a
top priority (Rollingstone, 2017). So Carey s marriage to a successful and influential man brought her

Radio Act Of 1912 Essay
Imagine if you were the captain on the Titanic and it was just struck by an iceberg. Your automatic
action is to send a distress signals for help and get everybody on lifeboats. Everyone survives and
lives happily ever after. What really happened was the distress signals got jammed and it delayed help.
1,000 lives were lost and the act of 1912 was born. In the early days of radio, radio was poorly
regulated and created chaos. In the early days, the radio industry was in chaos due to poor regulations
and uncontrolled rapid growth. The Radio Act of 1912 was an unsuccessful attempt at regulation
because it didn t allow the government to deny radio broadcasting licenses [1]. In fact, the law did not
even mention radio broadcasting since radio was not common when the law was made. Even though
the law required that radio operators to be licensed, it did not allow the denial of radio licenses. Over

In 1928 the law called the Davis Amendment was passed. Every zone had to have equal allocations of
licenses, time of operation, station power, and wavelength. It made radio more consistent, therefore
audiences enjoyed a better listening experience. The Davis Amendment asked many radio stations to
relocate because no matter the size of location the number of stations had to be kept the same. In 1934
Congress passed the Communications Act, establishing the Federal Communications Commission,
which regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and
cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories . The FCC was created because TV

American leaders held a Freedom Vote on the same day as the actual elections in the state to show that

Columbus Day and Christopher Columbus Essay
In fourteen hundred ninety two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue , starts the beginning of one of history
s biggest fabrications. We teach our children to be honest and truthful, but then lie to them for the first
six to eight years of their educational lives about their own history. For in fact, Columbus did not
discover America and did not unveil the myth regarding the world being flat. At the moment, I have
yet to discover if Christopher Columbus ever discovered anything at all. Knowing the meaning of
discovery, the land that Columbus reached from his voyage and the unorthodox events that occurred
after Columbus adventure; I do not celebrate Columbus Day. I enjoy the day off from work, as do
most Americans that observe the day; but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The enslavement of Native Americans and Africans were also products of this great discovery which
consequently led to millions being immolated. Celebrating such an affair mocks the deaths of those
who died from the greed of English settlers and the kings and queens who sponsored them. Must we
turn a blind eye to the harsh reality that our ancestors were wrong? Even though much was conquered
from this monstrosity, it makes it no more right now than then, and is no cause for celebration.
Finally, the most apparent and vital reason as to why Columbus Day should not be an American
national holiday is very simple. His voyage did not bring him to the lands of America. Columbus
landed in the Caribbean. This is a fact and is acknowledged by historians and analysis from around the
world. Columbus did not land in America; therefore, Americans have no allegiance to commemorate
him for our founding. Whether his expedition led to the colonization of America is to be argued, but
there is no doubt that he, himself, did not set foot on American soil. I ve read many books and articles
trying to find where he even visited America in his time. I have yet to discover any documented
evidence that supports him being placed in any of the American states. Arbitrarily, I do not recognize
him for discovering America; neither do I celebrate the date

Terrorism And Terrorism Attacks
Intro The United States has had its share of terror attacks, whether it was a major destruction, or
simpler destruction. On September 11th of 2001 (9/11), there was a major crisis after learning about
the terror attacks that happened on the World Trade Center in New York. That is one of the most
memorable terror attacks that took place in the Unites States. It was a series of terror attacks that took
place and the Pentagon was also targeted during this time. It was determined that Islamic nations were
targeting the United States to gain insight to their political views. The Islamic terrorist were so pressed
on getting their points across that they didn t care about the lives that stood in their way, including
their own. Thousands of people lost their lives in these two attacks alone and millions were affected.
Since then, terrorism has been a clear problem that has continued to show itself over time throughout
the United States. Terrorism is not limited to the United States, in fact, terrorism has been linked to
different areas of the world like Pakistan, Israel, Japan, and in the Philippines. Terrorism can be
anywhere from bombing, plane crashing, or just plain assassinating, as long as their means were to get
a message across. One example for an assassinating shooting is the Orlando shooting that took place
on June 12, 2016. The shooter was classified as just a gunman to some, but he was classified as a
terrorist to others because of the actions he chose to take. He

Choice E is the best answer. Cushing syndrome is a clinical syndrome associated with an excess of
glucocorticoids(GCs), due either to elevated levels of endogenous cortisol or exogenous use of
glucocorticoid medications such as prednisone, prednisolone, hydrocortisone, and betamethasone.
Common signs and symptoms include altered fat deposition (including moon facies and buffalo hump
, referring to fat deposition in the face and the upper back), weight gain, hypertension, striae, acne,
hyperglycemia, and central muscle weakness. Treatment involves cessation of glucocorticoid therapy,
though a taper is crucial, as abrupt withdrawal can lead to acute adrenal insufficiency and shock. In
non endocrine disorders, GCs are commonly given in pharmacologic (therapeutic) doses to suppress
inflammation. In endocrine disorders, however, corticosteroid doses are often given at or close to
physiologic doses (rather than in therapeutic ranges). GC associated toxicity appears to be related to
both the average dose and cumulative duration of GC use. However, for most GC related adverse
events, threshold dose or treatment duration has not been established. Choice A is not the best answer.

  • 2. An Analysis Of Stone, Patton, And Sheila Stone, Patton, and Sheila, in their book Difficult Conversations, explain that any conversation consists of three simultaneous conversations the What Happened? , Feelings, and Identity Conversations. The Flint Water Crisis is an example of a difficult conversation, a conflict with several difficult conversations happening all at once: conversations between Flint s residents and government officials, between different government agencies, and among residents organizing resistance and advocacy. Each conversation contains all the three conversations described by Stone et al. The What Happened Conversation is based on perception and deals with three assumptions: truth, intentions, and blame. The conflict arises on a disagreement of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The unconscious interpretation of conflict is the underlying concept of the What Happened Conversation. Most difficult conversations involve disagreement about what has happened or what should happen (Stone, Patton, Sheila, 2010, p.7); this is based on the individual s perception of what has happened. Loosely translated, this concept refers to Lewicki, Barry, Sander s analysis of cognitive bias Ignoring Other s Cognitions theme. In the What Happened Conversation we focus on our own perception and ignore other s cognitions, which allows negotiators to simplify their thinking about otherwise complex processes; ... and causes a failure to recognize the contingent nature of both sides behaviors and responses (Lewicki, Barry, Sanders, 2015, p. 156). Interactions between people most often rely on truth assumptions that I am right. But the truth for each person differs since it depends on the individual s interpretation of the situation. Therefore, rightness is based not on the ultimate truth but on conflicting perceptions, interpretations, and values (Stone et al., 2010). Perception and cognition is based on one s own beliefs, stereotyping, and prejudices. All parties involved in the Flint water crisis are influenced by their belief system which unconsciously led to the interpretation of events and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Communication And Language In Babel Babel, 2006, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu is a mosaic film about an accident in Morocco which connects four groups of people on three different continents. The word Babel is derived from the biblical story of the Tower of Babel and basically comes down to one common language being split into multiple languages causing a confusion in speech (Fairchild, 2017). According to Iñárritu, Babel is about how everyday lives are affected by walls, miscommunication and barriers (Michael, 2014). However, by not directly referencing the bible anywhere in the film, there is a sense of ambiguity, giving the audience the space to come to their own conclusion about what the messages of the film are. This paper will be looking at the themes of communication, prejudice and western superiority and the idea that humans have more in common than we realise. These ideas are helped along by film language elements such as nonlinear narrative, cinematography techniques such as camera angles and close ups and editing techniques such as parallel editing and match cuts. Communication or lack thereof often leading to confusion is a major theme raised in the film Babel and is delivered through elements such as narrative, parallel editing and repetition. Not only do the characters suffer from the inability to communicate due to their various language barriers but so too do the audience. The filmmakers on various occasions in particular with the character Chieko have refrained from using ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Study On The Midwifery Related Subject Of My Choice Introduction The aim of this essay is to describe a piece of research on a midwifery related subject of my choice. The subject that I have chosen to look at is teenage pregnancy and poverty and whether or not there is a correlation between them. I have chosen this because I have an interest in teenage pregnancy as it is a major public health concern with in the United Kingdom and would therefore like to develop my knowledge and understanding of the topic. In 2008 there were 38,750 under 18 conceptions, a rate of 40.5 per 1,000 females aged 15 17. Nearly half (49.7 per cent) of the pregnancies were terminated and 7,123 under 16 conceptions, a rate of 7.8 per 1,000 females aged 13 15. Over half (61.8 per cent) of the pregnancies ended in abortion. (The Family Planning Association. (2011). Teenagers: sexual health and behaviour factsheet. Available: www.fpa.org.uk/factsheets/teenagers sexual health 7behaviour. Last accessed 23rd March 2015.) Firstly I am going to explain my research methods and how I chose the research paper that I have used. I am then going to summarise my findings and finally assess what I have learnt from this assignment. Body Teen pregnancy is an important issue for several reasons. For example, there are health risks for the child born to teenage mothers and the child is more likely to suffer health, social, and emotional problems than children born to older mothers. It is also a possibility for teenagers who become pregnant to be at an increased risk for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Medicine, in general, is the science and practice of the diagnosis, treatments, and prevention of disease. It encompasses a variety of evolved methods to maintain and rejuvenate health. • 10. Mark Menis-Kyleer Analysis During World War II, the allied forces planned an invasion against the German army at the beaches of Normandy, France. With this assault still hours away, the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division Paratroopers were already executing night drops behind enemy lines. An article published at www.warhistoryonline.com states, the paratroopers were to disrupt the German defense lines and use the element of surprise while the main force landed the beaches (Budanovic). Foggy weather made drop zone accuracy difficult for the 82nd, but they adapted and did their best to complete their mission. This same determination resonates in the life of a more recent veteran of the 82nd Airborne, 1st LT. Mark Menis Kyler. In a recent interview, he shared his story with ... After basic at Fort Knox, I went to Fort Leonard Wood for AIT he says. Fort Knox, you mean where they keep the gold? There isn t really any gold there, not anymore he replies with a grin. Then I inquired what AIT meant (Advanced Infantry Training) and what came next. The Lieutenant went on to tell me I just decided I wanted to jump out of airplanes , so he went to Fort Bragg, N.C. where he remain stationed after jump school. Menis Kyler described his deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom. • 34. Terrorism And Terrorism Attacks Intro The United States has had its share of terror attacks, whether it was a major destruction, or simpler destruction. On September 11th of 2001 (9/11), there was a major crisis after learning about the terror attacks that happened on the World Trade Center in New York. That is one of the most memorable terror attacks that took place in the Unites States. It was a series of terror attacks that took place and the Pentagon was also targeted during this time. • 35. Pushing Syndrome Research Paper Choice E is the best answer. Cushing syndrome is a clinical syndrome associated with an excess of glucocorticoids(GCs), due either to elevated levels of endogenous cortisol or exogenous use of glucocorticoid medications such as prednisone, prednisolone, hydrocortisone, and betamethasone. Common signs and symptoms include altered fat deposition (including moon facies and buffalo hump , referring to fat deposition in the face and the upper back), weight gain, hypertension, striae, acne, hyperglycemia, and central muscle weakness. Treatment involves cessation of glucocorticoid therapy, though a taper is crucial, as abrupt withdrawal can lead to acute adrenal insufficiency and shock. In non endocrine disorders, GCs are commonly given in pharmacologic (therapeutic) doses to suppress inflammation. In endocrine disorders, however, corticosteroid doses are often given at or close to physiologic doses (rather than in therapeutic ranges). GC associated toxicity appears to be related to both the average dose and cumulative duration of GC use. However, for most GC related adverse events, threshold dose or treatment duration has not been established. Choice A is not the best answer. While a proper diet and exercise program is ... In patients with endocrinopathies, pancreatic and adrenal lesions may be identified that could relate to their condition. In this patient, it is theoretically possible for the Cushing syndrome to be caused by a cortisol secreting adrenal tumor. However, Cushing syndrome is much more commonly secondary to exogenous glucocorticoids rather than endogenous glucocorticoids; therefore, stopping the patient s prednisone use should be the first step. If the symptoms of steroid excess persist, then a CT of the abdomen with a three phase adrenal protocol could be performed to identify a potential adrenal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
