The Benefits Of Technology And Technology
The Benefits of technology
There are many examples of why technology is so beneficial to humans. The ability to know
what is happening anywhere on Earth is essentially one click or tap away. The ability to contact
a love one in an emergency. The ability to know where you are at if you re lost. This feeling of
being in control of so much is God like you could argue. However, I m not here to talk about
what technology is overall, I m going to explain if teenagers are essentially to connected to
technology and out of touch with the real world, and the answer I have come up with after
researching and my own experiences is yes, teens are too connected.
The art of distraction

After I complete my assignments and show proof I m allowed to retrieve my wonderful device
to catch up on what I have missed for the last 3 hours. The positive side of this is I m not
distracted and I am determined to complete my work, however, the negative of course is I don t
have my phone. I have told this to several of my friends and I get the unanimous response almost
every time. Your parents are super strict or I do fine with my phone out, tell them that .
The point of the above two paragraph was to show even though I feel like I deserve my phone
after school I really don t, I have an excellent GPA because of this system they have implemented
in our house. During my summer session online ( this is my first year) my parents didn t take
my phone at all and I kind of regret this. I have about a 95 average for both semesters, a good
grade but it doesn t satisfy my standards. I was always on my phone and constantly distracted and
just couldn t focus. So while a teen believes they deserve downtime the really don t. It s an art of
distraction that is so cunning that are conning their own self into an addiction.
The risk are small compared to the Benefits
I have always said that being on my phone is a good thing. If I m in trouble I can call the police and
can be helped. If I get lost I can pull up a map on my phone and know where I m at. Maybe it s
dark in the house and I need a

The Day That Changed My Life And Love Of Volleyball
Sunday February 28th, 2015. I remember that date, as if it happened yesterday. That was the day
that changed my life and love of volleyball. This was the day I got severely injured during a
volleyball tournament. The day had started and gone by painfully slow. Wherever I walked
throughout North High School hallways you noticed volleyball bags, blankets, coolers, food and
wrappers all stuffed into a small corner that a team redeemed as their spot. When I walked back
into the muggy hot gym, I could smell the knee pads, ankle braces, and sweat from all the girls
playing. Along with the sound of whistles from referees and the agonizing squeaking sound of the
shoes moving against the gym floors. My team and I made our way to an empty... Show more

I went into an approach and tipped the ball right over the block but their setter got a pancake (A
dig in which the player gets the ball up by placing a flat hand on the ground (palm down) and
letting the ball bounce off the back of his or her hand) and their right side hitter took the second
ball and got an assist (Passing or setting the ball to a teammate who attacks the ball for a kill.) to
their outside and she then pushed the ball over to the deep back right corner and our setter
luckily got there just in time and our libero then assisted the ball to me, but it was too low to do
anything, so I sent a freeball over. (A ball that will be returned by a pass rather than a spike.)
They easily passed that ball and they tried to run a fast offense and do a quick set, (a set (usually
2 above the net) in which the hitter is approaching the setter, and may even be in the air, before
the setter delivers the ball.) but I realized it right away and went up to block and I got it, but
their coverage was where it needed to be also and they got the ball up. After doing that their
setting came up and dumped (The setter dump is an attack in which the setter becomes an
offensive threat to score points and cause a distraction to the opponent s block and floor defenders.
It is often used as an emergency tactic for tight passes.) She ended the point with that because my
team didn t read it in time and couldn t pick it up. We then came together in a short team huddle to

Symbolism In The Cherry Orchard
The famous human condition doctor and writer Anton Chekhov wrote the play The Cherry
Orchard in his last year of life, 1904. The Cherry Orchard is a tragic comedy with a double plot
that entertains the audience through the extreme and questionable situations. Chekhov involves in
his play physical humor, which can be explained as exaggerated body movements and expressions
in order to cause funny and yet meaningful acts. The main plot and the most obvious one is the
dilemma that people face when they are in front of financial, social problems and emotional
barriers to overcome these problems (cutting down the cherry tree). This play contains a whole
historical process within its dialogues and monologues. In February of 1861, Alexander... Show

The debts of the aristocrats, the sold garden, the cherry orchard, Lopakhin, the train at the beginning
and the end, the unused gun...Everything symbolizes something: The debts that the aristocrat
family had tell a hidden story how inefficiently they spent their money during their life, thinking
that the time when their wealth and estate will be all taken away, would never come. The
beautiful Cherry Orchard symbolizes the old social order, when the aristocrats were on top of the
society; it represents their beautiful memories of an earlier life and this makes it even harder
emotionally to overcome the changes status. But then the garden is sold and the wealth is already
lost. The whole society has changed, but the aristocrats are facing difficulties in accepting this
change or transforming their behaviors in acceptance of the new social order. The human nature
faces struggle and tries to resist the immediate unexpected change especially when it is not
unwanted and threatens their accurate position. Social psychological problems that happen in
reality after the Emancipation Reform of 1861 were deep, hard to swallow and to recover from,

Relationship Between A Parent And Child Relationship
Throughout history human behavior has held a continuing fascination for artists of all kinds. The
way in which human beings relate to one another has been a source of inspiration to painters,
sculptors, authors, composers, playwrights, filmmakers and photographers alike.
Relationships between people vary from the everyday dynamics and the significance in which they
value one another and each connection between those relationships makes a different impact on the
one of someone else. There are many relationships people form throughout their lives, for instance
the primary relationships at the start of their lives, between parent and child, and siblings, which
start in the home. A relationship between a parent and child has a special unspoken bond in which
they share indescribable love, never ending care and affection for each other, as the parent is the
only depended and reliable thing they have. A good parent and child relationship can teach a child
how to form other bonds with mutual respect and admiration, such as friendships further on in life.
As people grow and develop, they form secondary connections such as friendships and intimate
relationships.
Friendships are predominantly built on trust, even as young children. Interaction with peers helps to
strengthen character and introduces a sense of belonging with others rather than family. Children
are naturally trusting, which means they form bonds with one another instinctively. As they get
older and gain knowledge,

Language Development in Preschool Children
Language Development In Preschool Children
Jamie Lisowski
ECE 315
Professor Radkowski
January 30, 2012
Language development and literacy is at the forefront of early childhood education. Parents are
being encouraged to read more to their children now more than ever. Early experiences with
language are the foundation for success in later school years. This is why it is important to
infuse language in every way in the classroom. The infant, toddler, and preschool years are
viewed as the point where children take their first critical steps toward learning to read and write
(National Association for the Education of Young Children [NAEYC], 1998, p. 32) The following
is a look into language development of three and four year old ... Show more content on

This theory states that children s understanding of the environment comes through immediate direct
(sensory) experiences and motor activities (Otto, 2010, p. 30). It supports the idea of active, hands
on learning. Piaget also placed emphasis on the concept of object permanence (the awareness that
an object remains even though it is removed from sight) and believed it was a precursor to
language development (Otto, 2010).
There are four strategies that encourage language development: questioning, linguistic scaffolding,
mediation, and conflict resolution. These strategies are especially useful in the three to four year
old age range because language is just beginning to develop in complexity. Children of this age
require teacher modeling in order to appropriately learn to interact with their environment and to be
socially successful.
Questioning is a strategy that seems rather easy. In reality, it can be more complicated than it
seems. Questioning can occur in many situations and can be formal or informal. When reading a
story, it is important to have questions ready on hand so that focus remains on the lesson being
taught. It is easy to stray from the main idea. For this age range, it is important to ask questions
during the story as well as at the end. This keeps children actively involved in the process and also
allows the teacher to gauge children s comprehension.
Types of questions are also important. For this age group the focus

Identifying And Applying The Relevant Law
Identifying and Applying the Relevant Law The relevant law to this scenario is cases that
concern unilateral error, misrepresentation and breach of contract. Unilateral error is applicable
when one party only is mistaken about one of the essentials. There has been an agreement but not
true agreement. This applies to the facts as Wilma has made a purely unilateral assumption that
she is contracting with a man named Tam Tumshie, when actually she is contracting with a look
alike named Septimus Meerkat. This could entail an error as to identity however that error may
not be essential. In the case of Morrison v. Robertson a man named Telford claimed to be the son
of a reputable farmer. Telford asked Morrison to sell him two cows. Morrison... Show more content

This case is similar as the contract has not been fulfilled (by payment) and for this reason
Septimus cannot pass on the title of the car to an unsuspecting third party. Misrepresentations
can be made by assertion. This includes impliedly, for example the case of Gamage v
Charlesworth s Trustees sets out that in order to buy goods on credit implies a representation of
ability to pay for them and of intention to do so. Septimus never had the intention of paying for
the car and nevertheless, tells Wilma that he would come back to pay. This is a pure lie which
he has tried to do several times in the past as a trickster, so I do think he deliberately
misrepresented himself here which misled her. In MacLeod v Kerr a crook named Galloway
posed as a third party by using a stolen check book to purchase a car. The court insisted the
contract was voidable, not void, as the error to identity was not essential because the pursuer was
not concerned as to who he was selling the car to, he was only concerned about the profit. Wilma
s error to identity may not be seen as essential as I think she would have contracted with anyone.
The only part Wilma s error affected was the process of the dealing giving the car to Septimus in
advance but she would have contracted with any person that was present and negotiating with her,
whoever it may be. As a result, I think the possible misrepresentation is incidental to the contract

Lust of Power Depicted in William ShakespeareВґs Macbeth Essay
Murder, ghosts, and floating daggers are the usual attractions for most that read William
Shakespeare s Macbeth, and yet there is an important theme that some might overlook. Written in
the early 17th century, Macbeth is believed to be based upon historical events listed in Raphael
Holinshed s Chronicles of Scotland and other current events of the time. Shakespeare constructs the
memorable world of Macbethwith a mysterious and sinister atmosphere, incorporating diabolical
elements into this world with the appearance of Hecate, witches, prophecies and ghostly
apparitions. Throughout his story, Macbeth becomes controlled by desire for power, by allowing
himself to be influenced, using evil means to gain and maintain power to the point that... Show

According to Lady Macbeth s conspiracy, Macbeth murders the king and despite his guilt Macbeth
concedes to his wife s chiding and assurance, My hands are of your color, but I shame
To wear a heart so white. I hear a knocking
At the south entry. Retire we to our chamber.
A little water clears us of this deed.
How easy is it, then! Your constancy
Hath left you unattended. (2.2)
However this initial step of using violent means to gain power makes it all the easier to use the
same violent means to maintain power.
From gaining to maintaining their power, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth continually seek out
darkness to aid them in their evil endeavors. Once king, Macbeth allows himself to be utterly
enveloped by this darkness and once consumed, he is prepared to eliminate any who would
intercept his newly obtained power and thus, to squash any hope of redemption. Malcolm describes
this by saying, But Macbeth is. [treacherous]
A good and virtuous nature may recoil
In an imperial charge. But I shall crave your pardon.
That which you are, my thoughts cannot transpose.
Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell.
Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace,
Yet grace must still look so. (4.3)
However, this invited evil claims its toll on the royal couple and in the end it is clear to see that the
two have been totally contorted through their efforts to maintain their stolen power. Lady Macbeth
becomes paranoid and her burdened conscience

Quotes For The Book Cover By Josephine Hart
The way i interpret this quotes is that it s saying that this character tries to judge people by their
aurora, or personality, instead of their physical body. I can relate this back to myself because
this is how i usually try to judge people, because you can never tell what a person has been
through or experienced by just looking at their physical appearance. While i believe
wholeheartedly that the physical appearance of a person shouldn t affect they way they are
treated i agree with the way that this character adds on the or at least how i try because when
you first meet someone , before you have a conversation with them, their physical appearance is
all the information you have to go on. In a way physical appearance is the earliest and easiest
way to categorize a person. I like to think that i personally go back ,after first making an

The Importance of Chemical Analysis in Archaeology
Anthropology is not a word that crosses people s minds very often, and when it does, it is most
often associated with treasure hunting and dinosaurs. Those who have a vague idea of what
anthropology that is, the study of human past and all that entails and its subfield, archaeology is,
often think of both as one dimensional fields, when in reality, they are so much more.
Anthropology is a multi disciplinary field of study combining various sciences, social and
otherwise, to work together to paint a complete picture of humankind, one of the most complex
species to ever walk on the planet, while archaeology is the study of human past through material
remains. It is, therefore, ridiculous to assume that such a tall order can be accomplished by any
single discipline. One of the most significant methods of verifying information in anthropology is
chemical analysis, which can be used in a variety of ways. This essay will compare and contrast the
use of analytical methods to investigate the bronze artifacts associated with the Xiongnu and pre
Xiongnu period with those used to analyze the chemical compositions of volcanic rocks for adze
production in late precontact Hawaiian archaic states and what the findings imply. Both analyses
use energy dispersive x ray spectroscopy to determine the chemical contents of the artifacts to

I grew up in an urban environment and many times were faced with much adversity. I ve seen

emotional is because the connection to the past. According to Black Rage in New Orleans as
African Americans grew in the nation s cities, it did not take long for white officers to develop
an us versus them mentality as they encountered African Americans on a daily basis.
Consequently, they were often ready to let African Americans know who was in charge by
utilizing any and all methods of police repression. Consequently, the term police brutality was
all encompassing to African Americans during the postwar period. It included police homicides;
unlawful arrests; assaults; threatening and abusive language; the use of racial slurs . For
example, Eric Gardner, an American man from New York were choked to death by a New York
police officer. New York Times report that he was shoved to the ground gasping for air,

Argumentative Essay On Racial Profiling
Racial Profiling
There are many types of racism in America that cause people to make accusations against law
enforcement for discrimination. One type of racism is racial profiling. It is a strategy that
encourages police officers to stop and question minorities only because of their race. Racial
profiling is a serious issue of social importance in the United States. George Will opens by casting
doubt with his tone on the idea that racial profiling is a serious issue in America. His tone is
sarcastic and critical of how politicians and news people are talking about the issue, and The
focus of the article is to use Heather Mac Donald as the primary evidence for Will s view that
racial profiling is not necessarily bad. I believe there is racism still happening to black people and
Muslim people.I think racial profiling should not be harmful for the innocent people. Racial
profiling is the harmful issue for innocent people. And law enforcement should not use racial
profiling.
Some level of racial profiling has probably always existed in the United States. The article Mac

kind of vehicles. and also about the number and type of occupants fit the profile of a drug courier.
But of course they do once the traffics are stopped and they want to research the vehicle. These are

Costco Warehouse Club
Introduction
Costco is a membership only warehouse club. Their design is to provide high quality products and
services to their members at low prices. They feel doing so will create a pleasurable shopping
experience and increase customer loyalty.
It was founded in a converted airplane hangar in San Diego under the name Price Club. The first
Costco branded store opened in Seattle in 1983. They grew from nothing to $3 billion in sales in just
six years. Costco and Price Club merged in 1993 becoming PriceCostco at the time. In 1997, they
changed the name back to just Costco (Costco.com).
They have built their organization from the ground up following their own code of ethics which
states:

I would say it has worked because Costco now has hundreds of stores worldwide including the
US. Spain, South Korea, Japan and more. They are highly successful with sales of more than $116
billion for the fiscal year ending August 28, 2016. (costco.com) This paper will look at some
factors of their operation that helped to make them this successful.
Location types
Costco warehouse clubs are generally housed in freestanding sites. They sites are isolated
locations for only Costco stores. They have the advantage of being in high traffic areas with great
visibility to attract customers as they pass by. These areas also provide easy parking for customers.
Parking can be an issue in areas where space in limited. In the video of the speech given my Mr.
Jim Sinegal, we can see some of the stores in the Asian markets like Japan and South Korea
where space is more limited than it is here in the United States. In those areas, stores are built
higher to spread the shopping area over multiple floors rather than just one floor like stores in
America. Additionally, parking is provided on the roof tops of those buildings. This allows those
locations to offer similar amenities with parking, easy access, and ample shopping space to
customers in those locations

International Relation Theory And International Relations...
International relation theories can be used to explain the meanings of the songs and articles.
Through music, the international relation theories can relate to the hidden messages about the song
through the language. The two theories that best explain the songs, Imagine by John Lennon and
Only Prettier by Miranda Lambert are neoliberalism and constructivism.
Neoliberalism is an international relations theory in which, states cooperate together to reach a
common goal. There is also the belief that states are self interested. The states can disagree with
their views, but cooperate together as a whole. One neoliberalist thinker was Keohane. Keohane
argued that institutional cooperation can still be established and flourish regardless of the ... Show

Constructivist believe that power is important. Power can be used to change and shape identities
and identities (Mingst 2016). One constructivist thinker is Wendt. Wendt argued that norms of the
states can affect how other states views them. Norms will change their actions by shaping their
identities differently (Mingst 2016). An example of constructivism is Americans viewed Cuba as
a threat during the Cold War. In 1960, US placed an embargo on Cuba, which ended trade and
relations with them. The rise of communism under the regime of Fidel Castro, posed as a threat to
the US. As of 2015, the embargo was lifted from Cuba and the US changed their perception of the
country. Another example is the US view of Iraq. Before the Persian Gulf War, the US viewed Iraq
as a marketing source, which enabled them to trade between each other. The US changed their
view on Iraq as the regime of Saddam Hussein took control of the country. There were many
rebellions of the Shiites and Kurds against Saddam. In the 1990s, Hussein invaded and destroyed
Marsh Arabs, which many Shiites were living on the land (ABC News 2006). US was concerned
about the supply of oil in the West.
In the inspirational song, Imagine by John Lennon, uses both neoliberalism and constructivism.
The song proclaims that the world is filled with violence and hate. Everyone cooperates together
in spite of their differences, the world will be at peace. The lines I hope someday you ll join us,

Every Organization Needs A Concrete Human Resources...
Every organization needs a concrete Human Resources Management plan to strategically guide
them in achieving defined business goals. The plan must provide vision and framework to all
functional areas within an organization in order to remain competitive and relevant in their given
industry. It is within this framework that human resources must develop a strategic plan (Brunot,
2017). Implementing such a plan will capitalize on interplay between capabilities (strengths and
weaknesses) with the demands of its environment (its competitors, customers, and suppliers)
(Dessler, 2017, p. 69). It is also through a well developed plan that policies and procedures can be

University, HR, and Enrollment managers would proactively work alongside each other with
equal measures of responsibility to develop tactics that align with the larger structure and
overall business plan of the school. HR will contribute to this by providing the proper human
capital that will have a substantial and long term impact on the future of the University.
Transitioning to a Strategic HR plan comes in the formation of key competencies in all
functional areas of business. Human resource professionals must think of themselves as
business people first and HR people second (Jamrog Overton, 2004, p. 56). In order for the HR
professional to carry out strategic responsibilities, they must be proficient in particular skills to be
a strategic partner. These competencies include but are not limited to: (1) Knowledge of business,
(2) Knowledge of standard HR practices, (3) Management of change (Jamrog Overton, 2004).
Employment Law As the University goes about the process of becoming fully strategic through the
hiring of candidates and the training, assessment, and rewarding of current employees,
employment practices must be fully in line current laws. While there are numerous and ever
changing employment laws that the Strategic HR professional will need to stay cognizant of,
there are key laws that must be on the radar of all University officials as well. Title VII of the
Civil Rights Act encompasses the legal obligation of an employer to not discriminate

July 18, 2015 Throughout the legacy of Rome there has been much conversation over the rise and
fall of the empire. From the government and its ideas to establish an effective common law, to the
economic and social status of the culture and what the values and beliefs are for Christians, the

Materials had to be collected, and the textual criticism and credibility needed to be established.
By doing this, the canon was discovered. In the discovery of canonicity, Erwin Lutzer describes
how this happened. Lutzer notes that the canon came to be through the chosen people of God.
This collection of books was not selected by a synod or council of the church, but rather by the
recognition of authoritative people of God. [8]. Elmer Towns, agrees with Lutzer s view and
adds that the basis for including a book in Scripture means that it needs to withstand six specific
terms of criteria. First, it must be prophetic (written by a prophet). Second, it must be authoritative
(claims to be God s message . . . thus saith the LORD ). Third, it must be authentic (written by the
person who claimed to be its author). Fourth, it had life transforming power. Fifth, it was widely
recognized as the Word of God, and lastly it was reliable (the contents were consistent with the rest
of Scripture, the data were accurate, and there were no inconsistencies in the book). [9]. Towns
standard, is one that applies to Christianity and orthodox when identifying what the canon is and
which 66 books would make up the content of the Bible and God s revelation to man through
Scripture. Since the revelation of God is personal and there are more than 20,000 religious
denominations to sort through, we can see how key events and Christward

Cloning will impact the world deeply and cause a tension among the humans. Allowing to clone a

The Negative Effects Of The Industrial Revolution
Anokhi Ladhani
Industrial Revolution Essay
The Industrial Revolution which began in Britain in 1750 because the earliest inventors and
engineers were from Britain. With the Industrial Revolution, urban societies grew. This caused
people to work in factories instead of on their farms. They began to work for the same amount of
time every day and used machinery instead of making things by hand. This allowed goods to be
mass produced cheaply and efficiently. In short the Industrial Revolutionwas a dramatic change in
all aspects of work. As competition increased for companies factories and other employers desire
for money also grew so to the population and demand for industrialization. This new kind of work
became a negative development. As a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So the health and physical condition of the workers were deteriorating. Peter Gaskill, a medical
examiner saw these things happening in the factories. He wrote about how the factories had no
ventilation making it really hot, especially when the workers had to work for hours at a stretch
without moving. The children working in the factories in London, England 1930 would barely
get any exercise and this would disrupt their growth and development ( The Life. ) The chimney
sweepers regulation bill was rejected in 1819. It required the use of machines to clean chimneys.
Young boys were going up chimneys to clean them and the machines that were used in the
factories could have done this dangerous task for them but even after Parliament s debate on
march 8th, 1819 the bill was never passed and those boys had to continue sweeping chimneys
without the aid of machines used in factories. The health of these boys were not taken care of by
the employers and all they wanted was to make profit even if it made others suffer ( Opposition. )
Some argue that the Industrial Revolution was a positive development because new inventions and
forms of technology made the work in the factories more cheap and efficient. Such as the sewing
machine which was invented in 1844. Even though less workers were needed in the

X-Ray Research Papers
Using X rays for medical imaging is one of the most useful pieces of medical technology
available when trying to determine and locate, the type and severity of a particular injury. X rays
are a form of electromagnetic radiation similar to visible light. However, unlike visible light x
rays can pass through most objects, including the body (NIBIB, n.d). The radiation hits a detector
on the other side of the patient and the image produced is a shadowed representation of the tissues
and structures in the body (NIBIB, n.d). However, due to the type of radiation being superimposed

For example, unemployed workers who receive an unemployment benefit may be able continue to
support their families. Disadvantages:The biggest disadvantage of welfare is its cost to the local
governments that control it. Even with federal support, states feel the burden of welfare in each
annual budget. One of the concerns is that welfare may discourage some recipients to seek work,
since an increase in earnings would exclude them from getting free benefits. Fraud would also be a
concern if someone supplies false information in order to get benefits that they do not qualify for.
Alternative:As an alternative of giving welfare directly to those in need, funding programs that
educate on new skills or help seeking jobs for the unemployed should be implemented. These
programs, if implemented, can show drastic changes in unemployment rates over time. Restrictions
on welfare, such as the time limits for getting unemployment benefits or a maximum monthly food

Why Do Neanderthals Exist
Anthropologists of primeval and present times have been tasked to research on the Neanderthal
and find out the exact time that they lived. They argued that the first humans that had proto
Neanderthal traits existed as early as 350,000 600,000 years ago (Jordan 114). Later they
discovered that true Neanderthals appeared between 200,000 and 250,000 years ago. Nevertheless,
the exact date during which they existed has been disputed by many scientists. According to
(PaМ€aМ€bo 76), the first recognized human
fossils were discovered in 1856 a pre historic site a
long Neander Valley in Germany (hence the name Neanderthalman); this creature is suspected to
have a close resemblance to the modern man, differing in their genetic composition by just 0.12%....

According to (Lunine 204), modern humans share one gene (FOXP2) with the Neanderthals.
However, the main difference between Neanderthals and modern humans is that they had a more
robust and idiosyncratic morphological traits, especially on the cranium. (Lunine, 234).
Neanderthals had relatively shorter limbs, wider barrel shaped rib cage, with reduced chin and
relatively longer and enlarged nose. Unlike the modern man who had reduced ribcage and sizeable
nose. They were more masculine than the modern man with particularly strong arms and hands. If a
physical altercation between a Neandertal and a modern man occurred, the Neandertal would have
the ability to completely physically dominate him. Additionally, recent research shows that
Neanderthals could have had better eyesight than modern humans owing to the size of their skull
and larger eye sockets. They had a brain capacity of about 1600cm3 which is bigger than the
modern humans. Neanderthals skeletons were much stronger with robust muscles embodied on it,
and the shafts found on both the legs and the arms were highly modified to absorb stress from
bending and twisting without

Lucretius Beliefs
Epicurus supported that the images people had for gods were varying due to the different
preconceptions that had been implanted to every person separately. Very often there were false
convictions expressed by people even if their preconceptions reflected their own natural goals.
Lucretius protested against voices who presented gods as having evil intents and as prone to
partiality and fury: Unhappy human race, to attribute such behavior, and bitter wrath too, to the
gods! What lamentations did they lay up for themselves in those days, what wounds for us, what
tears for our descendants ? Moreover, Lucretius stated: Unless you expel these ideas from your
mind and drive far away beliefs unworthy of the gods and alien to their tranquillity,... Show more

Even Epicurus followers were confused and perplexed by Epicurus theology such as Lucretius and
Cicero s Vellius who combined information and syllogisms that satisfied realists as well as idealists.
Both interpretative parties had their own reasons to attach Epicurus both to the realistic and the
idealistic context and both of them had to defend their theories against arguments that worth
consideration. I personally believe that Epicurus was more an idealist than a realist. He obviously
stated that there are gods a statement that could easily describe him as a realist but the fact that he
encouraged people to construct the conception of god and that their true nature, lifestyle and way
of thinking were completely unknown to people compel me to believe that Epicurus was idealist
and gods were merely thought constructs articulating people s unrealistic view of the life they
desired. Philodemus mentioned that Epicurus involved himself in all the traditional festival and
sacrifices . However, this attestation does not prove that Epicurus was surely devoutly religious
and believed that gods were existing living beings; he could have acted in that way to give a boost
to his social status or even to protect himself from the dangerous accusations of

Reasons Why George Was Justified In Of Mice And Men
Is killing someone right or wrong? In the novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck readers
are conflicted with this question all around the world. George killed Lennie after Lennie
accidentally killed Curley s wife.George and Lennie had known eachother for a long time they
even traveled together. George helped Lennie out of multiple situations and killing him was the
best way he could think of in the instance of Lennie killing Curley s wife.Even though Lennie and
George were friends, George was justified in killing Lennie because Lennie was undisciplined and
unsafe. First and foremost, George has to constantly continue to repeat rules to Lennie because
Lennie is undisciplined. Like, after Slim gives Lennie a puppy Lennie brings the puppy into the
bunkhouse with him even though George told him he was not supposed to. For example, after
Lennie comes into the bunkhouse John Steinbeck writes that George reached down and picked up
the tiny puppy from where Lennie had been concealing it against his stomach. (Steinbeck) In this
quote it shows that Lennie disobeyed the rules that George has set with him so he could get the
puppy this means that Lennie is undisciplined because he broke the rules even though he knew
that there were specific rules that were not supposed to be broken. consequently, George has to
repeat himself many times and treat Lennie like a child by fixing the things that Lennie messes up
and disobeyes the rules. So George was justified in his decision to kill

Tamika is researching an essay that she needs to write for social studies. It is about the civil rights
movement of the 1960 s.
During her research she came across many different types of texts about the political leaders, and

Tamika was overwhelmed with the amount of choices available. She decided to begin with two

While reading, Harold was reminded of growing up on a farm and attending the annual carnival and
country fair.
Harold wanted to record some of the experiences he had at the fair as well, but his story would be
based on true events.
Harold wrote a short autobiography. Even though the topic was the same, Harold presented his
story as non fiction because it was based on true events.

  • 2. The Benefits Of Technology And Technology The Benefits of technology There are many examples of why technology is so beneficial to humans. The ability to know what is happening anywhere on Earth is essentially one click or tap away. The ability to contact a love one in an emergency. The ability to know where you are at if you re lost. This feeling of being in control of so much is God like you could argue. However, I m not here to talk about what technology is overall, I m going to explain if teenagers are essentially to connected to technology and out of touch with the real world, and the answer I have come up with after researching and my own experiences is yes, teens are too connected. The art of distraction From my own experiences whenever I am bored or simply have nothing to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After I complete my assignments and show proof I m allowed to retrieve my wonderful device to catch up on what I have missed for the last 3 hours. The positive side of this is I m not distracted and I am determined to complete my work, however, the negative of course is I don t have my phone. I have told this to several of my friends and I get the unanimous response almost every time. Your parents are super strict or I do fine with my phone out, tell them that . The point of the above two paragraph was to show even though I feel like I deserve my phone after school I really don t, I have an excellent GPA because of this system they have implemented in our house. During my summer session online ( this is my first year) my parents didn t take my phone at all and I kind of regret this. I have about a 95 average for both semesters, a good grade but it doesn t satisfy my standards. I was always on my phone and constantly distracted and just couldn t focus. So while a teen believes they deserve downtime the really don t. It s an art of distraction that is so cunning that are conning their own self into an addiction. The risk are small compared to the Benefits I have always said that being on my phone is a good thing. If I m in trouble I can call the police and can be helped. This was the day I got severely injured during a volleyball tournament. The day had started and gone by painfully slow. Wherever I walked throughout North High School hallways you noticed volleyball bags, blankets, coolers, food and wrappers all stuffed into a small corner that a team redeemed as their spot. When I walked back into the muggy hot gym, I could smell the knee pads, ankle braces, and sweat from all the girls playing. Along with the sound of whistles from referees and the agonizing squeaking sound of the shoes moving against the gym floors. My team and I made our way to an empty... (A ball that will be returned by a pass rather than a spike.) They easily passed that ball and they tried to run a fast offense and do a quick set, (a set (usually 2 above the net) in which the hitter is approaching the setter, and may even be in the air, before the setter delivers the ball.) but I realized it right away and went up to block and I got it, but their coverage was where it needed to be also and they got the ball up. After doing that their setting came up and dumped (The setter dump is an attack in which the setter becomes an offensive threat to score points and cause a distraction to the opponent s block and floor defenders. • 4. Symbolism In The Cherry Orchard The famous human condition doctor and writer Anton Chekhov wrote the play The Cherry Orchard in his last year of life, 1904. The Cherry Orchard is a tragic comedy with a double plot that entertains the audience through the extreme and questionable situations. Chekhov involves in his play physical humor, which can be explained as exaggerated body movements and expressions in order to cause funny and yet meaningful acts. The main plot and the most obvious one is the dilemma that people face when they are in front of financial, social problems and emotional barriers to overcome these problems (cutting down the cherry tree). This play contains a whole historical process within its dialogues and monologues. In February of 1861, Alexander... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Relationship Between A Parent And Child Relationship Throughout history human behavior has held a continuing fascination for artists of all kinds. The way in which human beings relate to one another has been a source of inspiration to painters, sculptors, authors, composers, playwrights, filmmakers and photographers alike. Relationships between people vary from the everyday dynamics and the significance in which they value one another and each connection between those relationships makes a different impact on the one of someone else. There are many relationships people form throughout their lives, for instance the primary relationships at the start of their lives, between parent and child, and siblings, which start in the home. A relationship between a parent and child has a special unspoken bond in which they share indescribable love, never ending care and affection for each other, as the parent is the only depended and reliable thing they have. A good parent and child relationship can teach a child how to form other bonds with mutual respect and admiration, such as friendships further on in life. As people grow and develop, they form secondary connections such as friendships and intimate relationships. Friendships are predominantly built on trust, even as young children. Interaction with peers helps to strengthen character and introduces a sense of belonging with others rather than family. Children are naturally trusting, which means they form bonds with one another instinctively. As they get older and gain knowledge, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Language Development in Preschool Children Language Development In Preschool Children Jamie Lisowski ECE 315 Professor Radkowski January 30, 2012 Language development and literacy is at the forefront of early childhood education. Parents are being encouraged to read more to their children now more than ever. Early experiences with language are the foundation for success in later school years. This is why it is important to infuse language in every way in the classroom. The infant, toddler, and preschool years are viewed as the point where children take their first critical steps toward learning to read and write (National Association for the Education of Young Children [NAEYC], 1998, p. 32) The following is a look into language development of three and four year old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theory states that children s understanding of the environment comes through immediate direct (sensory) experiences and motor activities (Otto, 2010, p. 30). It supports the idea of active, hands on learning. Piaget also placed emphasis on the concept of object permanence (the awareness that an object remains even though it is removed from sight) and believed it was a precursor to language development (Otto, 2010). There are four strategies that encourage language development: questioning, linguistic scaffolding, mediation, and conflict resolution. These strategies are especially useful in the three to four year old age range because language is just beginning to develop in complexity. Children of this age require teacher modeling in order to appropriately learn to interact with their environment and to be socially successful. Questioning is a strategy that seems rather easy. In reality, it can be more complicated than it seems. Questioning can occur in many situations and can be formal or informal. When reading a story, it is important to have questions ready on hand so that focus remains on the lesson being taught. It is easy to stray from the main idea. For this age range, it is important to ask questions during the story as well as at the end. This keeps children actively involved in the process and also allows the teacher to gauge children s comprehension. Types of questions are also important. For this age group the focus ... • 9. Identifying And Applying The Relevant Law Identifying and Applying the Relevant Law The relevant law to this scenario is cases that concern unilateral error, misrepresentation and breach of contract. Unilateral error is applicable when one party only is mistaken about one of the essentials. There has been an agreement but not true agreement. This applies to the facts as Wilma has made a purely unilateral assumption that she is contracting with a man named Tam Tumshie, when actually she is contracting with a look alike named Septimus Meerkat. This could entail an error as to identity however that error may not be essential. In the case of Morrison v. Robertson a man named Telford claimed to be the son of a reputable farmer. Telford asked Morrison to sell him two cows. Morrison... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This case is similar as the contract has not been fulfilled (by payment) and for this reason Septimus cannot pass on the title of the car to an unsuspecting third party. Misrepresentations can be made by assertion. This includes impliedly, for example the case of Gamage v Charlesworth s Trustees sets out that in order to buy goods on credit implies a representation of ability to pay for them and of intention to do so. Septimus never had the intention of paying for the car and nevertheless, tells Wilma that he would come back to pay. This is a pure lie which he has tried to do several times in the past as a trickster, so I do think he deliberately misrepresented himself here which misled her. In MacLeod v Kerr a crook named Galloway posed as a third party by using a stolen check book to purchase a car. The court insisted the contract was voidable, not void, as the error to identity was not essential because the pursuer was not concerned as to who he was selling the car to, he was only concerned about the profit. Wilma s error to identity may not be seen as essential as I think she would have contracted with anyone. The only part Wilma s error affected was the process of the dealing giving the car to Septimus in advance but she would have contracted with any person that was present and negotiating with her, whoever it may be. As a result, I think the possible misrepresentation is incidental to the contract and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Iman Christin Wirawan Professor Stephen Acabado Anthropology 8 24 October 2015 The Importance of Chemical Analysis in Archaeology Anthropology is not a word that crosses people s minds very often, and when it does, it is most often associated with treasure hunting and dinosaurs. Those who have a vague idea of what anthropology that is, the study of human past and all that entails and its subfield, archaeology is, often think of both as one dimensional fields, when in reality, they are so much more. Anthropology is a multi disciplinary field of study combining various sciences, social and otherwise, to work together to paint a complete picture of humankind, one of the most complex species to ever walk on the planet, while archaeology is the study of human past through material remains. It is, therefore, ridiculous to assume that such a tall order can be accomplished by any single discipline. One of the most significant methods of verifying information in anthropology is chemical analysis, which can be used in a variety of ways. This essay will compare and contrast the use of analytical methods to investigate the bronze artifacts associated with the Xiongnu and pre Xiongnu period with those used to analyze the chemical compositions of volcanic rocks for adze production in late precontact Hawaiian archaic states and what the findings imply. Both analyses use energy dispersive x ray spectroscopy to determine the chemical contents of the artifacts to understand their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the discovery of canonicity, Erwin Lutzer describes how this happened. Lutzer notes that the canon came to be through the chosen people of God. This collection of books was not selected by a synod or council of the church, but rather by the recognition of authoritative people of God. [8]. Elmer Towns, agrees with Lutzer s view and adds that the basis for including a book in Scripture means that it needs to withstand six specific terms of criteria. First, it must be prophetic (written by a prophet). Second, it must be authoritative (claims to be God s message . . . thus saith the LORD ). Third, it must be authentic (written by the person who claimed to be its author). Fourth, it had life transforming power. Fifth, it was widely recognized as the Word of God, and lastly it was reliable (the contents were consistent with the rest of Scripture, the data were accurate, and there were no inconsistencies in the book). Towns standard, is one that applies to Christianity and orthodox when identifying what the canon is and which 66 books would make up the content of the Bible and God s revelation to man through Scripture. George helped Lennie out of multiple situations and killing him was the best way he could think of in the instance of Lennie killing Curley s wife.Even though Lennie and George were friends, George was justified in killing Lennie because Lennie was undisciplined and unsafe. First and foremost, George has to constantly continue to repeat rules to Lennie because Lennie is undisciplined. Like, after Slim gives Lennie a puppy Lennie brings the puppy into the bunkhouse with him even though George told him he was not supposed to. For example, after Lennie comes into the bunkhouse John Steinbeck writes that George reached down and picked up the tiny puppy from where Lennie had been concealing it against his stomach.
