Kindergarten In Kindergarten
Kindergarten in the 1870s was a place for the middle class children in Canada. However, the late into

middle class and upper class women. While there was a rise to industrial capitalism, there was a rise to

My Music Experience
As a young boy, I have always had an interest in Music. When my family would go on trips and
vacations out of state I would listen to music on the car radio and try to memorize all the lyrics,
rhythms, tempos, and distinct sounds of the instruments. The first music experience was at the
elementary M.E Pearson. When you got to the Fourth grade, the school allowed students to participate
in orchestra and gave them the opportunity to learn how to play certain instruments. As I walked into
that small trailer and heard the sounds, saw the articulation and how everyone moved as one. I was
flabbergasted and knew instantly this is want I wanted to do. Starting Orchestra, I was horrible and I
didn t learn how to properly play my first instrument, the cello, until the beginning of sixth grade. As
much as I was horrible, orchestra was a positive impact on my life and pushed me to achieve goals.
Going down the hall past Mr. Curry s class, bubble and bumpers, and patiently waiting outside the
orchestra room at M.E Pearson Elementary were the highlights of each day from fourth to fifth grade.
During that time of practice our class would practice articulation, posture, and how to read notes until
the bell rang and would let the school know it was time to go home. As boring as it got sometimes, I
was always filled with joy and prepared for orchestra the next day. The first time trying out for State

The purpose of this report is to dig deeper into abuse, not just physical abuse but mental as well, that
children receive while they are being detained in mandatory dentation for prolonged periods in places
such as Nauru. Through secondary sources the information that was retrieved was abundant about The
Forgotten Children (Australian Human Rights Commission, 2014) and the abuse and violence that
they are witnessing every day.
The background and scope into this project is that children are being abused in refugee camps and it is
mostly going unnoticed by the public. Doctors are saying that the children that they have seen from
camps like Nauru are some of the most traumatized children that they have seen in over 50 years of
combined experience (Elliot 2016, cited in Scott and Gregory, 2016).

After taking a look at all the data for the past and more current information I have noticed an increase
in car prowls in northeast Portland. This includes the area from I 205, Airport Way to 122nd and
including Sandy Blvd and Marine Drive. Gathering information on the statistics of this location it
appears that larceny and motor vehicle theft are the most commons types of property crimes in this
area. I personally know this location and is mostly made up of business complexes, poor
neighborhoods surrounding this location and a lot of homeless people that camp or stay around these

This is also the case in this Portland location and the focus should be on the location and the victims
because as they discussed in Texas if they arrested on offender another will take its place, it would not
be very effective. After looking at the PSU crime data I have noticed that car prowls occurs throughout
the year, overall declining in Portland overall, but in the area between 122nd Ave and I 205 around
Airport Way based on the heat map from 1995 to 2013 car prowls have increased or well above
average at this location(PSU, 2017). Also overall these crimes occurred after dark mostly every day
between 6pm to 2am(PSU, 2017). Focusing on victims would also be important even though we don t
have any data in Portland about victims, in the Texas model they identified that were part of the
problem because they left cars unlocked, left windows open and often left valuables in plain site
where offenders could see inside. This could also be applied to Portland because if offenders don t see
anything of value worth while in your car and if it s secure they would be less likely to break into that
