Yoga Based Interventions For Depression And Anxiety Disorders
Abstract
Background: Many people suffer from depression and anxiety disorders across the lifespan. A lot of
research has been done on depression and stress management but not enough on the impact of the
combination of occupational therapy services and yoga. Occupational therapists are trained and skilled
to help those diagnosed with mental disorders. In addition to traditional Occupational Therapy
practices, CAMs (complimentary alternative medicines) such as yoga with emphasis on mindfulness
based stress reduction can help those suffering recover more quickly.
Purpose: The aim of my research is to see Occupational Therapy interventions and Yoga based
interventions effectiveness in young adults suffering with depression and anxiety disorders.
Methods: 21 day meditation, pre test and post test questionnaire, interviews with participants, previous
research done on topic
Results: I hope to discover that yoga based interventions along with occupational therapy
interventions show a tremendous improvement in the feelings and attitudes of the participants
suffering with depression and anxiety disorders.
Introduction
Yoga based interventions fall under a very broad topic of complementary and alternative medicine.
The United States National Library of Medicine defines CAMs as the term for medical products and
practices that are not part of standard care. Standard care is what medical doctors, doctors of
osteopathy, and allied health professionals, such as nurses and physical

Essay about The 1787 Constitutional Convention
The 1787 Constitutional Convention was paramount in unifying the states after the Revolutionary
War. However, in order to do so, the convention had to compromise on many issues instead of
addressing them with all due haste. This caused the convention to leave many issues unresolved. Most
notably were the issues of slavery, race, secession, and states rights. Through the Civil War and the
Reconstruction, these issues were resolved, and in the process the powers of the federal government
were greatly expanded. Slavery There was no significant desire among most delegates to abolish
slavery during the 1787 Constitutional Convention. In addition, the focus of the convention was on
forming a more perfect union, not dealing with the issue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That clause prohibited any amendment made to the Constitution prior to 1808 that interfered with the
three fifths compromise or the clause regarding Congress interference with the slave trade (Dolbeare,
77). Lastly is The Fugitive Slave Clause in Article 4, Section 2 of the Constitution that permitted the
extradition of runaway slaves (Dolbeare, 77). While the compromises within the constitution were
necessary to ensure the formation of the United States, it is clear that the 1787 Congressional
Convention did little to address the issue of slavery. The Civil War and the Reconstruction brought
about much change and turmoil throughout the United States. During these periods, three main events
occurred that resolved the issue of slavery, and expanded the power of the federal government. First
was Lincoln s delivery of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. Lincoln declared, all
persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be
in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free (archives.gov).
Lincoln s speech was simply a declaration of policy that did not actually free any slaves. Nonetheless,
it was important because it paved the way for legislative reform that Lincoln worked so hard to effect.
Lincoln barely managed to get the necessary number of votes in the House of Representative to

The Political Relationship Of The United States And South...
The Vietnam conflict was a ruthless and long war that had serious consequences for everyone
involved and would prove to be a shameful and infamous snapshot of American foreign policy at
work. This paper will highlight the geo political relationship of the United States and South Vietnam,
focusing on events taking place after the Geneva accords of 1954, in the attempts to insure a non
communist Vietnam.
The United States refused to sign the Geneva accords (because the U.S. refused any possibility of
communist control over Vietnam), but elections were to be held in 1956 to decide the ruling
government by popular vote. The U.S. government created SEATO (Southeast Asia Treaty
Organization), a regional alliance that swore to protect South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in the
event of Communist rule. SEATO quickly came into full force and became the exact mechanism
Washington used to justify its support of South Vietnam. This support of course even became the
direct involvement of U.S. troops in Vietnam. In 1955, the U.S. picked Ngo Dinh Diem to replace Bao
Dai as the head of the regime in South Vietnam. In a move to consolidate the power, Prime Minister
Diem called for a referendum between Emperor Bao Dai and himself. In a very banana republic esque
way, Diem won that referendum by over 98% of the vote (although a questionable legitimacy to say
the least). With help, guidance and U.S. encouragement, Diem refused participation in the Geneva
planned elections that Ho Chi Minh

Essay on The Great Pacific Garbage Patch
While a beautiful sunset on the beach can be astounding, a spectacular scene is not the only benefit
oceans provide. Without the oceans, we would not have adequate amounts of oxygen to breathe or
enough protein to eat. The Earth s climate would not be inhabitable for human beings and many
animals. The oceans supply medicines, food and drinking water which arise from ocean processes.
Out of the five oceans, the Pacific Ocean is the world s largest and deepest ocean. It spreads over an
area of 165.2 million square kilometers. More than 25,000 islands float within the Pacific. Within the
Pacific Ocean lies an unusual island, an island that is more than twice the size of Texas and is earth s
largest landfill, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world produces two hundred billion pound of plastic a year, twenty billion of that ends up in the
ocean each year (Silverman). Fourteen billion sinks and ends up damaging life on the ocean floor and
the rest floats and end up in gyres and garbage patches (Silverman). This strikes much concern
because plastic is not biodegradable; therefore, plastic floats there forever because microbes do not
recognize it as food. Making matters worse, the sunlight photo degrades the bonds in plastic polymers
and makes plastic smaller for tiny marine organisms to consume (McLendon) The United Nations
Environment Program estimated in 2006 that every square mile of ocean hosts 46,000 pieces of
floating plastic ( Silverman ). Reducing the amount of plastic consumed, would lessen the amount of
compost that is not biodegradable.
Numerous tribulations to the health of marine life ensue as a result of the Garbage Patch.
To marine life, plastic is like a poison. Filter feeders suck the tiny particles up resulting in their bodies
being marred. Some animals eat the plastic which sometimes poisons them or leads to fatal blockages.
Because there is a lot of predation in the ocean, the poison that encompasses the bodies of marine life
affects the entire food chain (Silverman). The accumulated plastic and trash sometimes wash ashore,
affecting beaches and oceans all over the world. This damages boat and submarine equipment, litter
beaches, dissuades swimming and harms the

John Mayer Essay
Performer: John Mayer
Performer s Life Span: Mayer was born on October 16, 1977 in Connecticut. Mayer is currently living
and still records and plays music.
Location:
John Mayer was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mayer spent his adolescent years in Connecticut
until finally moving away to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mayer dropped out of college and
moved to Atlanta, Georgia and this is where his music career started. After traveling around doing
tours for many years Mayer finally settled down and currently lives in Bozeman, Montana.
Band Members: John Mayer sang many songs on his own however he formed a band in 2005 called
the John Mayer Trio. Beyond Mayer the other two members in the band are bass player Pino Palladino

There was only one instrument used in this song and that was an acoustic guitar played by Mayer
himself. In this song the tone color was soft throughout the whole song. He played a quiet but sweet
guitar sound. He sang the song in a low pitch without ever getting loud which made the song have
more emotion. I believe there was compression used on this song because in some parts of the song
where he is singing in a higher pitch the music never got any louder. Furthermore, reverb was used as
well because as you listen to the music you can hear the acoustic guitar reflection even after he has
played the note. This song fits perfect into John Mayer s singing and guitar playing style. His style is
singing in a soft tone that is sweet and not very loud and this song fits that perfectly. In addition, he
plays his guitar and highlights his skills in some parts of the song which is what he likes to do in many
of his songs. Mayer also sings with a lot of emotion and this song you can just feel the emotion in the
guitar and his voice. The emotion that Mayer sings with is something that is really phenomenal about
his musical style. In this song, his message is that parents should spend time and love on your children
and show them how to love because one day they will be parents themselves. He highlights how
relationships are important and parents should lead by example so that their children will have good

Differences Between Language And Communication
Language. What exactly is it? We use it every day to communicate with people around us from a very
early age. As we walk around and take in the world around us we notice some people communicating
differently. Their words don t sound like ours, yet they are able to function the same way we do and
complete the same tasks. Stated on dictionary.com language is a body of words of words and the
systems for their use common to a people who are of the same community or nation, the same
geographical area, or the same cultural tradition. From this definition, we can see that language can
have many different variations. Variations can be in the same language or different languages.
Variations in languages can be accents, pronunciations, dialects, and grammar (Language). For
example, in America, and in the United Kingdom we speak English, but our accents, pronunciations,
and even word usage is very different. This speaking communication is known as linguistic So, How
is it that language has developed? Before communication between humans became linguistic it was
first just nonverbal movements like different facial expressions, gestures, and noises known as non
linguistic communication (Pereltsvaig 1). According to Professor J.F Stein from the physiology
department at Oxford University Language is a relatively new thing and only developed about 50,000
years ago (131). So basically, humans were very successful at surviving even when they weren t able
to verbally address things. This

Cognitive Neurological Connections
The field of cognitive neuroscience seeks to understand the processes underlying cognition and neural
connections. One major subfield of neuroscience utilizes electrophysiological properties of the brain
to record neural activity through electrodes on the scalp (EEG). Furthermore, the analysis of the signal
to noise ratios leads to event related potentials (ERPs). These event related potentials measure the
brain s response to specific cognitive events. Also through previous research ERP s have been
correlated with face perception in humans and monkeys; subsequently, prosopagnosia and lesion
studies in the inferior occipitotemporal region bolsters the notion that the brain utilizes specific areas
to perceive faces (Bentin et al., 1996). Additional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He established that the N170 reacted best to human faces compared to animal faces, cars, scrambled
pictures, or hands. However, the N170 reacted the highest when volunteers were presented pictures of
isolated eyes. This indicated that the neural mechanism is fine tuned to identify human physiognomic
features. Bentin discovered the importance the N170 performs in the perception facial expressions.
Furthermore, he challenged the assumption that inversion of faces impaired the structural encoding
phase by presenting volunteers with inverted and upright faces. The amplitude and distribution of the
N170 of the upright and inverted faces was particularly analogous, and this lead to the impression that
this specific ERP component encodes facial structures in lieu of an entire face. Furthermore, Bentin
also noted the differences in the recordings of the scalp recorded N170 to the subdural N200. There is
a 20msec latency in the N200 recordings, and the N200 recordings are correlated with the fusiform
face specific processing. While the N200 structurally encodes the face, the N170 is a specific eye
processor that interprets gaze and orientation. Additional studies verified the conjecture that the N170
is targeted for eyes. In one experiment when the eyes were directed to the viewer compared to gazing
away a larger N170 was noted (McCarthy et al., 1999). This principal attribute of human eye
recognition

The Unnecessary Death of Charlie Howard
Charlie Howard was a twenty three year old, homosexual man living in Bangor, Maine. Living in
the eighties, homosexuality was not yet acceptable in society s eyes. Howard was murdered by three
teenage boys for being openly gay only at age twenty three. Howard s three murders shortly became
catalysts in the movement to include sexual orientation in hate crime legislation throughout the
country.1
In 2004, the Charles O. Howard foundation was created to promote diversity, tolerance, and crime
prevention.
By the time Charlie Howard reached high school in the late 1970 s, he was severely bullied by his
fellow classmates, as well as the majority of the people he saw throughout the day. Charlie was a fair
haired and had a small, skinny figure. On top of being bullied, he also had a learning disability, which
obligated people to pick on him even more. His asthma made it difficult to participate in school
activities,

Charlie was more than ready to get out of high school, thinking the real world would be a better fit to
him. But on the day of his graduation ceremony, he felt that he would be a disappointment to his
family,
seeing how the others treated him, so he decided to skip his own graduation.

Greek Vs. Norse Mythology
Greek Vs. Norse Mythology Assignment; Matisse Piper
The myths of Thor and Zeus come from the Greek and Norse tradition. Both are Gods of lightning,
thunder, and both mythological characters have been featured in spectacular movies. Thor was
considered the storm and weather god of the sky as well as thunder. He is one of the most prominent
figures in Norse mythology. Zeus was the god of the sky and ruler of the Olympian gods. Both of
these Gods structures were very similar and they are perceived to be very close in comparison, even
though their stories are very different. I believe that both gods are still very relevant today s world,
even though they were said to be recounted millions of years ago. Thor was the God of thunder and
lighting in Norse tradition. He was the most loved and worshiped Norse God even though Odin, Thor
s father, had more authority and held a higher throne. The sole reason this Norse god appealed to so
many was because he was associated with common people. His powers were a crucial part to growing
crops and as the Norse mythology was a key foundation of early Germanic people, before ... Show

his own oath by being infamously known for having many affairs, and many wives. Although his
sister Hera always remained his queen. The God s main weapon to destruction was a large lightning
bolt. He would launch the lightning bolt at anyone who did so much as ridicule them, which would
most likely result in their death. Zeus cared about all humans, in a paternal way. He watched over

International banks would decrease in size due to the lowered flow of U.S. dollars and reduce the
chances for poor investments. The other two scenarios result in a continued global crisis, as countries
such as China may remain focused on exports and foreign investors holding the U.S. dollar may lose
confidence in the American financial system causing a rise in the cost of capital. These situations are
likely based on the Triffin dilemma, or the loss of confidence in the American dollar. According to
Ahamed, The risk of such a situation is clearly on the minds of Chinese policy makers. Zhou
Xiaochuan, the Governor of the People s Bank of China, explicitly referred to Triffin s dilemma in a
speech this March on the need for reform of the international monetary system (2009).
Direct Foreign Investments
Deardorff (2001) stated that, direct foreign investments refer to the particular countries and kinds of
countries toward which a country s exports are sent, and from which its imports are brought, in
contrast to the commodity composition of its exports and imports. Besides, direct foreign investments
also can be defined as the situation in which a foreign investor owns10% or more of the ordinary
shares or voting power of a local company. Thus, the pattern that the direct foreign investments follow
is that of a bilateral trade.

Types of ADRs/GDRs
ADRs can be classified into two broad categories: 1. Unsponsored ADRs/GDRs: In such DRs, the
company (RIL in our case) has got no agreement with the custodian or depository bank for the
issuance of DRs. These are traded on the over the counter (OTC) market and are issued according to
the market demand forces.
Unsponsored DRs can be issued by a no. of depository banks. Each depository services only the DRs
issued by it.
2. Sponsored DRs: These are the DRs which are sponsored by the company itself. In this case, the
foreign company itself wants to issue DRs and it does so by designating a depository bank that will
issue DRs in the foreign market on its behalf. It is of the following types:
a) Level 1 Sponsored DRs: These are the lowest level of sponsored DRs. These are traded only on the
OTC market. In case of ADRs, the company is supposed to adhere to minimal US Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements and is not required to publish reports in accordance to US
GAAP standards.
b) Level 2 Sponsored DRs: In level 2 DRs, the DRs are listed on a recognized stock exchange and can
be traded thereafter. The stock exchanges in which these DRs are usually traded are New York Stock

A Urinary Tract Infection ( Uti )
A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection involving any part of the urinary system, which includes
the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys. UTIs are the most common type of healthcare associated
infection (HAI). Between 15 25% of hospitalized patients receive urinary catheters during their
hospital stay (Drekonja, 2010, p. 31). A urinary catheter is a drainage tube that is inserted into the
bladder through the urethra. A catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) occurs when
bacteria enters the urinary tract through the catheter and causes infection. Common signs of UTIs are
urgency, frequency and dysuria. These voiding symptoms will not be present in patients with
indwelling catheters. Symptoms that may help classifying a CAUTI would be fever or hypothermia,
suprapubic tenderness, or costovertebral angle pain or tenderness (Tillekeratne, 2014, p. 13). Catheter
associated urinary tract infections cause increased healthcare costs, length of stay, morbidity, and
mortality. Infections can be acquired in many ways such as, on insertion of the catheter via cross
contamination or accidental catheterization into the vagina, not ensuring aseptic technique, catheter
care and maintenance, and cross contamination when emptying the drainage bags. There are many
ways to decrease the risk of catheter associated UTIs and nurses play a major role in reducing these
risks in order to prevent harm and save lives. To improve clinical care and reduce the risks of

Rafe and Robin in Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus Essay
Rafe and Robin in Marlowe s Doctor Faustus
Rafe and Robin waltz into Christopher Marlowe s The Tragical History of D. Faustus in scene four
and vanish three scenes later. Although they may appear trivial and even intrusive, Rafe and Robin
bring much needed comic relief to this tragic play. Imitating Doctor Faustus actions unwittingly, this
pair of ostlers illuminates Faustus misuse of power. They also reflect Faustus character by acting as
his parallel self. Behind their clownish antics, Rafe and Robin highlight Faustus downfall and evil s
power through comic relief, parody, and parallel.
According to the Neo Classical view of tragedies, tragic action is the essence of the play; comic relief

In the same scene, Robin confuses the Devil Balioll with Balio and Banio. Since Robin is able to
conjure lewd yet intelligent puns, it is possible that he only pretends to mix up Balioll s name so that
the Devil becomes a silly entity to be laughed at and not to be feared.
Exposing Faustus sins to grotesque exaggeration, Rafe and Robin parody Doctor s magical tricks.
Cole states that the representatives of the forces of evil and destruction are doomed before they begin;
the more confident and boastful they are, the more ludicrous they become; any suffering they
experience is but just and deserved (16). Indeed, as Faustus becomes more boastful of his mastery
over the dark arts, Rafe and Robin s exaggerated imitations demonstrate the absurdity of his abilities.
In sc.iv, immediately after Faustus declares his ambitions to become emperor of the world by learning
from Mephastophilis, the clown Robin decides to become Wagner s pupil. This is a parody of serious
action, and it undercuts the grandeur of Faustus dreams. Faustus marvels at the words of Valdes and
Cornelius and daydreams about learning the dark arts from them. Rafe s naïve reply to his mentor
Robin parodies Faustus wide eyed wonder (sc.vi, 37 40): O brave, Robin! Shall I have Nan Spit, and

Skim Board History
Riding on a skateboard that is longer and wider than the normal skateboard is commonly known as
long boarding. People have actively starting long boards as they offer greater durability, stability and
traction. In addition, the axles have a different geometric factor than the skateboard. The popular
length of a long board ranges from 32 to 60 inches. They are more suitable than skateboards for
cruising, as the larger wheels provide a smoother ride. These enable longboards to have varied
functions. Some of these are transportation, slaloming and free riding, riding downhill, dancing and
spinning. Globe longboards in UK is a relatively new phenomenon, though they have been active in
the skate shoes business. Their knowledge in this sport has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Descriptive Essay On The Blue Ridge Mountains
It was finally time to take off. I had anticipated this trip south for several weeks. Now the last item
was packed in the RV and we were ready to hit the road. One of the things I enjoy most is getting off
the beaten path and traveling the backroads. And, we were going to be able to do that on most of this
trip. Part of the advantages of traveling the backroads is being able to take in some fantastic views of
this country s landscape, slowing down our pace enough to enjoy all the simple pleasures along the
way, and specifically on this trip, enjoying that native southern hospitality.
No matter how many times I see them, my heart always perks up when I first see those Blue Ridge
mountains. And, it is always an inspirational sight to behold when you see that mist rising in the
Smoky Mountains. However, I am just as awe struck by the magnificent views as you wind through
the Nantahala in North Carolina. Beautiful rapids and waterfalls are throughout this National Forest
also. It is spectacular!
As we made our way further south, crossing over in to Georgia, we were greeted by droves of cars
parked along the sides of the roads. People were enjoying the simple pleasure of whitewater rafting.
However, when you are the one pulling a 35 ft RV maneuvering through those hair pin turns, trying to
avoid the cars on both sides of the road, it doesn t seem like a pleasure; at least for the moment. Then,
in the middle of dodging the cars on the side of the road, a van stopped right in front of us. No
kidding, the van stopped in the middle of the lane on a blind curve to let their little boy go to the
bathroom. However, as you can well image, there are no bathrooms! Seriously, traffic came to a
complete halt in the Chattahoochee River National Park. We had to shake our head and laugh at that
one, thankful that no one got hurt! It is at times like this you have to laugh and say, traveling the
backroads is also an adventure!
After that it was smooth sailing. We finished out the last part of our trip driving through a beautiful
little college town. The picturesque setting of Young Harris is what I love about traveling the
backroads. It takes longer but you gain a glimpse of small town living. And then we pulled into

Public Policies Of The Canadian Government
Throughout Canadian history, a responsible government depended on the act of the nation working
together to apply appropriate public policy. William Lyon Mackenzie King, the prime minister of
Canada in the 1920s (and again in the 1930s) once said, Where there is little or no public opinion,
there is likely to be bad government, which sooner or later becomes autocratic government. This is
true even almost 100 years later. A democratic society operates in relation to the voices of the nation.
The Canadian government consists of many sectors to enforce this particular style of policy making,
including the House of Commons, the Senate, the Cabinet, and of course, the prime minister. Many
citizens may argue that these important sectors of government are aspects reflecting true democracy.
On the other hand, some citizens might argue that the prime minister has significant control over
Parliament alone, sometimes without the need for other voices. Government responsibility lies in the
heart of the prime minister and can have significant control over different policy areas if he or she
feels the need to do so. This often flies in the face of a democratic society. This paper will argue that
the Prime Minister of Canada has too much power over Canadian public policy because he or she
maintains party discipline, controls Cabinet ministers, and has power over what bills are passed in
Parliament. These factors determine that the Prime Minister indeed continues to control government

Fanon Vs Pontcorvo Essay
Frantz Fanon and Pontecorvo could not have come from more different backgrounds, so it seems.
Pontecorvo was a Catholic film maker from Italy while Fanon hailed from Martinique and practiced
psychiatry, philosophy and wrote about post colonialist theory. Even though these men seemed
completely different, they both believed that violence, was not the answer to solving problems. More
specifically, these two men created art and wrote about colonialism and what is perpetuated because of
it. Pontecorvo created the Battle of Algiers not too long after the end of the Algerian War, which ended
in 1962, with Algerian independence from France. The director s intent to film so shortly after the end
of the war speaks to the type of feel he wanted to convey. Pontecorvo captured the heartbreak and
sorrow that came out of the war, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During one of the bombing scenes, and Algerian body is carried out of the rubble and is posed in a
Christ like manner his arms outstretched in order to look like a cross. After a bombing scene in the
French quarters, the same music plays that was played after a bombing in the Algerian quarters. This
is Pontecorvo s subtle way of stating that not all colonizers are the same. Pontecorvo s stance on
violence toward the colonizer is apparent he does not think it is justifiable. By humanizing the
colonizer, especially during the bombings, he is stating that we are all broken people. Christianity
recognizes human depravity, which is why people need God to save them and forgive them for their
sins. Pontecorvo s music plays a massive role in conveying how both types of people, the colonizer
and the colonized are capable of great evil, but both can be justified through God. He believes that
once the colonizers and colonized can understand that they share the same human brokenness, then
maybe they can try to understand each other or work towards restorative

Black Leadership, Politics, and Culture in Uplifting the Race by Kevin Gaines
Uplifting the Race is a rather confusing yet stimulating study that goes over the rising idea and
interests in the evolution of racial uplift ideology from the turn and through the twentieth century. In
the first part of the book, Gaines analyzes the black elite obsession with racial uplift ideology and the
tensions it produced among black intellectuals. Gaines argues for the most part that during the
nineteenth century racial uplift ideology was part of a liberation theology as stated by Gaines, which
stressed a group struggle for freedom and social advancement. In this particular piece by Gaines,
offers a close analysis of the racial, class, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Example, the first three chapters describe some of the more pertinent concerns and problems
inherent in the uplift ideology. In an fascinating and absorbing manner, yet one that is somewhat
perplexing, as is most of this book, in my opinion, the author encounters difficulties in three particular
areas, the first being the somewhat clear uplift of decline of the notions of black politics, and how
issues surrounding the political arena was somewhat adversely against black and also it show how the
during the turn of the century, many black use politics as a mean a gaining some place in society.
Second address the lower socioeconomic classes and how some doctrines such as separate but equal
was in place not only to hinder the black race but to advance the majority in the United States as well
as Jim Crow Laws. These were a series of laws enacted mostly in the Southern United States in the
later half of the 19th century that restricted most of the new privileges granted to African American
after the Civil War. The discriminatory Jim Crow laws were enacted to support the notion of racial
segregation. They required black and white people to use separate water fountains, public schools,
public bathhouses, restaurants, public libraries, and rail cars in public transit. Originally called the
Black Codes they later became known as Jim Crow laws, after a familiar minstrel character of the day.

Abstract: This paper deals with the staging the evaluation of a three phase Shunt Active Power Filter
for Power Quality improvement. Power Quality problems can be take up using Shunt Active Power
Filters. A simulation model based on mathematical model of a three phase shunt active power filter
has been developed. The results show an inherent power quality improvement in terms of reduced
Total Harmonic distortion (THD) of source current. It also betrays power factor correction (PFC)
properties to a large extent as the source current and source voltage are in phase. Keywords shunt
active power filter (SAPFs), Total harmonic distortion (THD), Proportional integral (PI) and
Hysteresis current controller (HCC). INTRODUCTION In the present era of advanced technologies,
power electronics devices have wide applications. These devices are important for industrial and
domestic uses but they generate the power quality problems [1 2].these problems are created on

Anxiety is an aroused emotional state distinguished by feelings of apprehension and bodily tension
present when no real danger is present ( Measuring stress and anxiety, 2011). Although used
synonymously in everyday life, they are not the same. Psychologists view stress as a larger construct
than anxiety; anxiety is the deleterious emotional reaction to stressors ( Measuring stress and anxiety,
2011). Stress is a pattern of physiological, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive reactions to stimuli
that are perceived as a potential threat to our well being ( Measuring stress and anxiety, 2011).
Responding to stress can manifest itself in somatic anxiety ( Measuring stress and anxiety, 2011). This
is seen in a neuroendocrine secretion, quick breathing, perspiration, rapid heart rate, and more.

Crime Against Humanity In Rwanda
Nations should respond to crimes against humanity as a harsh crime. When a villain like person robs a
bank of does an illegal act the justice system always acts immediately and gives them the appropriate
punishment. But lots of times people within a nation get away with doing multiple hate crimes and
Crimes Against Humanity and nobody does anything, they just sit ideally by. One example of a Crime
Against Humanity is the crisis that happened in Rwanda with the Tutsis and the Thnus. Another
example of a Crime Against Humanity is what happened in Nanking during the second World War.
One more example is the Holocaust in Germany also during the second World War. These acts and
more are great examples of Crimes Against Humanity that went unrecognized and Nations that did not

What Is The Difference Between Normative And Technical...
Part A: What is the difference between normative and technical rationality?
Moral dimension in leadership is depend on normative rationality. Normative rationality is a
rationality based on what we believe and what we consider to be good. Technical rationality is a
rationality based on what is effective and efficient. Both normative and technical rationality have
value however when they are in conflict, normative rationality should always be used. Normative
rationality is center of the moral dimension. Normative rationality is relying on beliefs and what one
considers to be good. On the other hand, technical rationality is relying on bureaucratic authority and
psychological authority. Normative rationality is relying on beliefs and what one considers to be good.
In the technical rationality, position based on research findings such as data, but there are reasons for
one s position in the normative rationality. Technical rationality focuses accumulation of knowledge,
orderliness, efficiency and effectiveness. In contrast, normative rationality focuses loyalty, harmony,
honor, beauty, and trust. Normative rationality is based upon the purpose and values the group shares.
As a school s values become more public and persuasive the school s culture is strengthened and its
rationality become more legitimate. Also, normative rationality has strong sense of community.
Everyone in the school work together and they are members of a learning community. However,

Argumentative Essay On Role Playing Games
Kids all across America play role playing games that involve shooting each other with water guns
which sounds harmless and innocent but some people think different. A select hand of people think
that kids and teenagers playing role playing games are violent and could lead the kids into a troubled
future, but they really are just harmless. The reasons for why role playing games like senior assassin
are harless are that it isn t real killing, it doesn t involve real guns, no one gets hurt, and that it is
usually set up by the school that all of the students attend. But on the other hand the people that think
that it is violent have no real evidence and only say things like someone could get hurt, but from what
the water, and they also say that it involves weapons but that really doesn t mean anything.
The evidence for why it is harmless is because there has never been a death or killing from playing
those harmless games because there is nothing wrong with them. Others say that the game is very
dangerous but there is no evidence for that, the only thing that they say is that it simulates violence but
there is really nothing violent about it, besides that the game is just fun. A quote from an article called
Violent video games may stop crime by keeping criminals busy playing violent video games and in
that it says violent video games may have directly contributed to the decrease in real world violence.
That quote really means a lot because it is saying that there is

Reflection Of Success In College
One of the question on the board I d like to respond to that was very early in the semester is what does
success look like. My original response to this was, There multiple ways to answer this. Success is
being happy, but smiling is a look associated with happiness, but depressed people can smile and
laugh too. So to answer what success actually looks like is someone who show s continuous genuine
happiness. The best way to achieve that status is to have your stress levels at a minimum. After being
in college for the rest of the semester I think for the most part my answer stays the same. I still believe
success is when you are truly happy in the world you live in, but I can explain this a lot better. Success
is when you don t have to worry about things in life anymore. When you don t have to work to get
yourself out of bed in the morning and knowing what you have to face for the rest of the day. Success
is when you can say to yourself, i m glad that the things that I did in my past lead me to this point I am
at now. To the new me that s what success looks like. It s not an easy thing to obtain but everyone can
obtain it as long as the keep an optimistic view on life and remember to just keep moving forward.
Another question I liked from the board that I jotted down was what works? My initial response to this
was this. Friends partying helps a lot. It s so much relief but you have to keep it at a balance. Another
thing that helped out a lot was teachers who curve or

The Transactions Between Bell Hospitality Limited
Question 1 The transactions between Bell Hospitality Limited (BHL) and Costbite Limited (Costbite)
is undoubtedly a dealing in the course of business and a sale of goods contract, therefore, it will be
governed by the Sale of Goods Act 1979. A contract of sale is a lawful agreement to transfer the
ownership of any particular goods in exchange for an approved monetary consideration from the other
party. This transfer of ownership is also known as the passing of property. The issues highlighted by
BHL focuses on if there is any passing of property and ultimately, who bears the risk of goods that
have been part of the contract. By discussing each of the goods the 20 bottles of Hollinger finest
champagne, 12 bottles of Australian Premium white wine and the 12 bottles of South African red wine
separately, we will be able to determine if the property has passed to BHL and whether or not, Kerry
bears the risk of the loss of the three goods due to the floods. Generally, it should be noted that the
transfer of ownership does not only occur when there is a handover of psychical possession of the
goods. At times, the seller may still have possession of the goods but the ownership would have
passed on to the buyer, and on certain occasions, the buyer would have possession of the item but the
ownership may still remain with the seller. Thus, many a times uncertainties have risen due to the
seemingly challenging task of needing to prove that they have ownership over the goods but

  • 2. Yoga Based Interventions For Depression And Anxiety Disorders Abstract Background: Many people suffer from depression and anxiety disorders across the lifespan. A lot of research has been done on depression and stress management but not enough on the impact of the combination of occupational therapy services and yoga. Occupational therapists are trained and skilled to help those diagnosed with mental disorders. In addition to traditional Occupational Therapy practices, CAMs (complimentary alternative medicines) such as yoga with emphasis on mindfulness based stress reduction can help those suffering recover more quickly. Purpose: The aim of my research is to see Occupational Therapy interventions and Yoga based interventions effectiveness in young adults suffering with depression and anxiety disorders. Methods: 21 day meditation, pre test and post test questionnaire, interviews with participants, previous research done on topic Results: I hope to discover that yoga based interventions along with occupational therapy interventions show a tremendous improvement in the feelings and attitudes of the participants suffering with depression and anxiety disorders. Introduction Yoga based interventions fall under a very broad topic of complementary and alternative medicine. The United States National Library of Medicine defines CAMs as the term for medical products and practices that are not part of standard care. Standard care is what medical doctors, doctors of osteopathy, and allied health professionals, such as nurses and physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about The 1787 Constitutional Convention The 1787 Constitutional Convention was paramount in unifying the states after the Revolutionary War. However, in order to do so, the convention had to compromise on many issues instead of addressing them with all due haste. This caused the convention to leave many issues unresolved. Most notably were the issues of slavery, race, secession, and states rights. Through the Civil War and the Reconstruction, these issues were resolved, and in the process the powers of the federal government were greatly expanded. Slavery There was no significant desire among most delegates to abolish slavery during the 1787 Constitutional Convention. In addition, the focus of the convention was on forming a more perfect union, not dealing with the issue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That clause prohibited any amendment made to the Constitution prior to 1808 that interfered with the three fifths compromise or the clause regarding Congress interference with the slave trade (Dolbeare, 77). Lastly is The Fugitive Slave Clause in Article 4, Section 2 of the Constitution that permitted the extradition of runaway slaves (Dolbeare, 77). While the compromises within the constitution were necessary to ensure the formation of the United States, it is clear that the 1787 Congressional Convention did little to address the issue of slavery. The Civil War and the Reconstruction brought about much change and turmoil throughout the United States. During these periods, three main events occurred that resolved the issue of slavery, and expanded the power of the federal government. First was Lincoln s delivery of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. Lincoln declared, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free (archives.gov). Lincoln s speech was simply a declaration of policy that did not actually free any slaves. Nonetheless, it was important because it paved the way for legislative reform that Lincoln worked so hard to effect. Lincoln barely managed to get the necessary number of votes in the House of Representative to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Political Relationship Of The United States And South... The Vietnam conflict was a ruthless and long war that had serious consequences for everyone involved and would prove to be a shameful and infamous snapshot of American foreign policy at work. This paper will highlight the geo political relationship of the United States and South Vietnam, focusing on events taking place after the Geneva accords of 1954, in the attempts to insure a non communist Vietnam. The United States refused to sign the Geneva accords (because the U.S. refused any possibility of communist control over Vietnam), but elections were to be held in 1956 to decide the ruling government by popular vote. The U.S. government created SEATO (Southeast Asia Treaty Organization), a regional alliance that swore to protect South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in the event of Communist rule. SEATO quickly came into full force and became the exact mechanism Washington used to justify its support of South Vietnam. This support of course even became the direct involvement of U.S. troops in Vietnam. In 1955, the U.S. picked Ngo Dinh Diem to replace Bao Dai as the head of the regime in South Vietnam. In a move to consolidate the power, Prime Minister Diem called for a referendum between Emperor Bao Dai and himself. In a very banana republic esque way, Diem won that referendum by over 98% of the vote (although a questionable legitimacy to say the least). With help, guidance and U.S. encouragement, Diem refused participation in the Geneva planned elections that Ho Chi Minh ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on The Great Pacific Garbage Patch While a beautiful sunset on the beach can be astounding, a spectacular scene is not the only benefit oceans provide. Without the oceans, we would not have adequate amounts of oxygen to breathe or enough protein to eat. The Earth s climate would not be inhabitable for human beings and many animals. The oceans supply medicines, food and drinking water which arise from ocean processes. Out of the five oceans, the Pacific Ocean is the world s largest and deepest ocean. It spreads over an area of 165.2 million square kilometers. More than 25,000 islands float within the Pacific. Within the Pacific Ocean lies an unusual island, an island that is more than twice the size of Texas and is earth s largest landfill, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The world produces two hundred billion pound of plastic a year, twenty billion of that ends up in the ocean each year (Silverman). Fourteen billion sinks and ends up damaging life on the ocean floor and the rest floats and end up in gyres and garbage patches (Silverman). This strikes much concern because plastic is not biodegradable; therefore, plastic floats there forever because microbes do not recognize it as food. Making matters worse, the sunlight photo degrades the bonds in plastic polymers and makes plastic smaller for tiny marine organisms to consume (McLendon) The United Nations Environment Program estimated in 2006 that every square mile of ocean hosts 46,000 pieces of floating plastic ( Silverman ). Reducing the amount of plastic consumed, would lessen the amount of compost that is not biodegradable. Numerous tribulations to the health of marine life ensue as a result of the Garbage Patch. To marine life, plastic is like a poison. Filter feeders suck the tiny particles up resulting in their bodies being marred. Some animals eat the plastic which sometimes poisons them or leads to fatal blockages. Because there is a lot of predation in the ocean, the poison that encompasses the bodies of marine life affects the entire food chain (Silverman). The accumulated plastic and trash sometimes wash ashore, affecting beaches and oceans all over the world. This damages boat and submarine equipment, litter beaches, dissuades swimming and harms the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. John Mayer Essay Performer: John Mayer Performer s Life Span: Mayer was born on October 16, 1977 in Connecticut. Mayer is currently living and still records and plays music. Location: John Mayer was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mayer spent his adolescent years in Connecticut until finally moving away to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mayer dropped out of college and moved to Atlanta, Georgia and this is where his music career started. After traveling around doing tours for many years Mayer finally settled down and currently lives in Bozeman, Montana. Band Members: John Mayer sang many songs on his own however he formed a band in 2005 called the John Mayer Trio. Beyond Mayer the other two members in the band are bass player Pino Palladino and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was only one instrument used in this song and that was an acoustic guitar played by Mayer himself. In this song the tone color was soft throughout the whole song. He played a quiet but sweet guitar sound. He sang the song in a low pitch without ever getting loud which made the song have more emotion. I believe there was compression used on this song because in some parts of the song where he is singing in a higher pitch the music never got any louder. Furthermore, reverb was used as well because as you listen to the music you can hear the acoustic guitar reflection even after he has played the note. This song fits perfect into John Mayer s singing and guitar playing style. His style is singing in a soft tone that is sweet and not very loud and this song fits that perfectly. In addition, he plays his guitar and highlights his skills in some parts of the song which is what he likes to do in many of his songs. Mayer also sings with a lot of emotion and this song you can just feel the emotion in the guitar and his voice. The emotion that Mayer sings with is something that is really phenomenal about his musical style. In this song, his message is that parents should spend time and love on your children and show them how to love because one day they will be parents themselves. He highlights how relationships are important and parents should lead by example so that their children will have good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Differences Between Language And Communication Language. What exactly is it? We use it every day to communicate with people around us from a very early age. As we walk around and take in the world around us we notice some people communicating differently. Their words don t sound like ours, yet they are able to function the same way we do and complete the same tasks. Stated on dictionary.com language is a body of words of words and the systems for their use common to a people who are of the same community or nation, the same geographical area, or the same cultural tradition. From this definition, we can see that language can have many different variations. Variations can be in the same language or different languages. Variations in languages can be accents, pronunciations, dialects, and grammar (Language). For example, in America, and in the United Kingdom we speak English, but our accents, pronunciations, and even word usage is very different. This speaking communication is known as linguistic So, How is it that language has developed? Before communication between humans became linguistic it was first just nonverbal movements like different facial expressions, gestures, and noises known as non linguistic communication (Pereltsvaig 1). According to Professor J.F Stein from the physiology department at Oxford University Language is a relatively new thing and only developed about 50,000 years ago (131). • 8. Cognitive Neurological Connections The field of cognitive neuroscience seeks to understand the processes underlying cognition and neural connections. One major subfield of neuroscience utilizes electrophysiological properties of the brain to record neural activity through electrodes on the scalp (EEG). Furthermore, the analysis of the signal to noise ratios leads to event related potentials (ERPs). These event related potentials measure the brain s response to specific cognitive events. Also through previous research ERP s have been correlated with face perception in humans and monkeys; subsequently, prosopagnosia and lesion studies in the inferior occipitotemporal region bolsters the notion that the brain utilizes specific areas to perceive faces (Bentin et al., 1996). Additional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He established that the N170 reacted best to human faces compared to animal faces, cars, scrambled pictures, or hands. However, the N170 reacted the highest when volunteers were presented pictures of isolated eyes. This indicated that the neural mechanism is fine tuned to identify human physiognomic features. Bentin discovered the importance the N170 performs in the perception facial expressions. Furthermore, he challenged the assumption that inversion of faces impaired the structural encoding phase by presenting volunteers with inverted and upright faces. The amplitude and distribution of the N170 of the upright and inverted faces was particularly analogous, and this lead to the impression that this specific ERP component encodes facial structures in lieu of an entire face. Furthermore, Bentin also noted the differences in the recordings of the scalp recorded N170 to the subdural N200. There is a 20msec latency in the N200 recordings, and the N200 recordings are correlated with the fusiform face specific processing. While the N200 structurally encodes the face, the N170 is a specific eye processor that interprets gaze and orientation. Additional studies verified the conjecture that the N170 is targeted for eyes. In one experiment when the eyes were directed to the viewer compared to gazing away a larger N170 was noted (McCarthy et al., 1999). This principal attribute of human eye recognition ... • 9. The Unnecessary Death of Charlie Howard Charlie Howard was a twenty three year old, homosexual man living in Bangor, Maine. Living in the eighties, homosexuality was not yet acceptable in society s eyes. Howard was murdered by three teenage boys for being openly gay only at age twenty three. Howard s three murders shortly became catalysts in the movement to include sexual orientation in hate crime legislation throughout the country.1 In 2004, the Charles O. Howard foundation was created to promote diversity, tolerance, and crime prevention. By the time Charlie Howard reached high school in the late 1970 s, he was severely bullied by his fellow classmates, as well as the majority of the people he saw throughout the day. Charlie was a fair haired and had a small, skinny figure. On top of being bullied, he also had a learning disability, which obligated people to pick on him even more. • 10. Greek Vs. Norse Mythology Greek Vs. Norse Mythology Assignment; Matisse Piper The myths of Thor and Zeus come from the Greek and Norse tradition. Both are Gods of lightning, thunder, and both mythological characters have been featured in spectacular movies. Thor was considered the storm and weather god of the sky as well as thunder. He is one of the most prominent figures in Norse mythology. Zeus was the god of the sky and ruler of the Olympian gods. Both of these Gods structures were very similar and they are perceived to be very close in comparison, even though their stories are very different. I believe that both gods are still very relevant today s world, even though they were said to be recounted millions of years ago. Thor was the God of thunder and lighting in Norse tradition. He was the most loved and worshiped Norse God even though Odin, Thor s father, had more authority and held a higher throne. The sole reason this Norse god appealed to so many was because he was associated with common people. UTIs are the most common type of healthcare associated infection (HAI). Between 15 25% of hospitalized patients receive urinary catheters during their hospital stay (Drekonja, 2010, p. 31). A urinary catheter is a drainage tube that is inserted into the bladder through the urethra. A catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) occurs when bacteria enters the urinary tract through the catheter and causes infection. Common signs of UTIs are urgency, frequency and dysuria. These voiding symptoms will not be present in patients with indwelling catheters. Symptoms that may help classifying a CAUTI would be fever or hypothermia, suprapubic tenderness, or costovertebral angle pain or tenderness (Tillekeratne, 2014, p. 13). Catheter associated urinary tract infections cause increased healthcare costs, length of stay, morbidity, and mortality. Infections can be acquired in many ways such as, on insertion of the catheter via cross contamination or accidental catheterization into the vagina, not ensuring aseptic technique, catheter care and maintenance, and cross contamination when emptying the drainage bags. There are many ways to decrease the risk of catheter associated UTIs and nurses play a major role in reducing these risks in order to prevent harm and save lives. Imitating Doctor Faustus actions unwittingly, this pair of ostlers illuminates Faustus misuse of power. They also reflect Faustus character by acting as his parallel self. Exposing Faustus sins to grotesque exaggeration, Rafe and Robin parody Doctor s magical tricks. Cole states that the representatives of the forces of evil and destruction are doomed before they begin; the more confident and boastful they are, the more ludicrous they become; any suffering they experience is but just and deserved (16). In sc.iv, immediately after Faustus declares his ambitions to become emperor of the world by learning from Mephastophilis, the clown Robin decides to become Wagner s pupil. This is a parody of serious action, and it undercuts the grandeur of Faustus dreams. Faustus marvels at the words of Valdes and Cornelius and daydreams about learning the dark arts from them. Now the last item was packed in the RV and we were ready to hit the road. One of the things I enjoy most is getting off the beaten path and traveling the backroads. And, we were going to be able to do that on most of this trip. Part of the advantages of traveling the backroads is being able to take in some fantastic views of this country s landscape, slowing down our pace enough to enjoy all the simple pleasures along the way, and specifically on this trip, enjoying that native southern hospitality. No matter how many times I see them, my heart always perks up when I first see those Blue Ridge mountains. And, it is always an inspirational sight to behold when you see that mist rising in the Smoky Mountains. However, I am just as awe struck by the magnificent views as you wind through the Nantahala in North Carolina. Beautiful rapids and waterfalls are throughout this National Forest also. It is spectacular! As we made our way further south, crossing over in to Georgia, we were greeted by droves of cars parked along the sides of the roads. People were enjoying the simple pleasure of whitewater rafting. However, when you are the one pulling a 35 ft RV maneuvering through those hair pin turns, trying to avoid the cars on both sides of the road, it doesn t seem like a pleasure; at least for the moment. Then, in the middle of dodging the cars on the side of the road, a van stopped right in front of us. Seriously, traffic came to a complete halt in the Chattahoochee River National Park. We had to shake our head and laugh at that one, thankful that no one got hurt! It is at times like this you have to laugh and say, traveling the backroads is also an adventure! After that it was smooth sailing. • 22. Public Policies Of The Canadian Government Throughout Canadian history, a responsible government depended on the act of the nation working together to apply appropriate public policy. William Lyon Mackenzie King, the prime minister of Canada in the 1920s (and again in the 1930s) once said, Where there is little or no public opinion, there is likely to be bad government, which sooner or later becomes autocratic government. This is true even almost 100 years later. A democratic society operates in relation to the voices of the nation. The Canadian government consists of many sectors to enforce this particular style of policy making, including the House of Commons, the Senate, the Cabinet, and of course, the prime minister. Many citizens may argue that these important sectors of government are aspects reflecting true democracy. On the other hand, some citizens might argue that the prime minister has significant control over Parliament alone, sometimes without the need for other voices. Government responsibility lies in the heart of the prime minister and can have significant control over different policy areas if he or she feels the need to do so. This often flies in the face of a democratic society. This paper will argue that the Prime Minister of Canada has too much power over Canadian public policy because he or she maintains party discipline, controls Cabinet ministers, and has power over what bills are passed in Parliament. These factors determine that the Prime Minister indeed continues to control government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Argumentative Essay On Role Playing Games Kids all across America play role playing games that involve shooting each other with water guns which sounds harmless and innocent but some people think different. A select hand of people think that kids and teenagers playing role playing games are violent and could lead the kids into a troubled future, but they really are just harmless. The reasons for why role playing games like senior assassin are harless are that it isn t real killing, it doesn t involve real guns, no one gets hurt, and that it is usually set up by the school that all of the students attend. But on the other hand the people that think that it is violent have no real evidence and only say things like someone could get hurt, but from what the water, and they also say that it involves weapons but that really doesn t mean anything. The evidence for why it is harmless is because there has never been a death or killing from playing those harmless games because there is nothing wrong with them. Others say that the game is very dangerous but there is no evidence for that, the only thing that they say is that it simulates violence but there is really nothing violent about it, besides that the game is just fun. A quote from an article called Violent video games may stop crime by keeping criminals busy playing violent video games and in that it says violent video games may have directly contributed to the decrease in real world violence. • 34. Reflection Of Success In College One of the question on the board I d like to respond to that was very early in the semester is what does success look like. My original response to this was, There multiple ways to answer this. Success is being happy, but smiling is a look associated with happiness, but depressed people can smile and laugh too. So to answer what success actually looks like is someone who show s continuous genuine happiness. The best way to achieve that status is to have your stress levels at a minimum. After being in college for the rest of the semester I think for the most part my answer stays the same. I still believe success is when you are truly happy in the world you live in, but I can explain this a lot better. Success is when you don t have to worry about things in life anymore. When you don t have to work to get yourself out of bed in the morning and knowing what you have to face for the rest of the day. Success is when you can say to yourself, i m glad that the things that I did in my past lead me to this point I am at now. To the new me that s what success looks like. It s not an easy thing to obtain but everyone can obtain it as long as the keep an optimistic view on life and remember to just keep moving forward. Another question I liked from the board that I jotted down was what works? My initial response to this was this. Friends partying helps a lot. It s so much relief but you have to keep it at a balance. Another thing that helped out a lot was teachers who curve or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Transactions Between Bell Hospitality Limited Question 1 The transactions between Bell Hospitality Limited (BHL) and Costbite Limited (Costbite) is undoubtedly a dealing in the course of business and a sale of goods contract, therefore, it will be governed by the Sale of Goods Act 1979. A contract of sale is a lawful agreement to transfer the ownership of any particular goods in exchange for an approved monetary consideration from the other party. This transfer of ownership is also known as the passing of property. The issues highlighted by BHL focuses on if there is any passing of property and ultimately, who bears the risk of goods that have been part of the contract. By discussing each of the goods the 20 bottles of Hollinger finest champagne, 12 bottles of Australian Premium white wine and the 12 bottles of South African red wine separately, we will be able to determine if the property has passed to BHL and whether or not, Kerry bears the risk of the loss of the three goods due to the floods. Generally, it should be noted that the transfer of ownership does not only occur when there is a handover of psychical possession of the goods. At times, the seller may still have possession of the goods but the ownership would have passed on to the buyer, and on certain occasions, the buyer would have possession of the item but the ownership may still remain with the seller. Thus, many a times uncertainties have risen due to the seemingly challenging task of needing to prove that they have ownership over the goods but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
