Medical advancements in World War Two
World War II brought death and destruction upon the world. On the other hand, it also opened doors
for pioneering developments that commonly occur during such situations of high adversity. Some of
the most important advancements took place in the field of medicine when the world was embroiled in
World War II. As Dr. Ralph Major states, An army is a vast laboratory of medical research where
disease and injuries are seen on a far larger scale than in peacetime. Many improvements in the
treatment of infections have come from experiences on the battlefield (Major 52). Devastation in the
war left countless soldiers and civilians with life threatening injuries and diseases. This devastation
and destruction, led to the innovation of the three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plasma was used to transfer blood as it served to keep satisfactory blood pressure and supply critical
proteins and globulins (antibodies) to the wounded soldiers (www.usaaf.net/wwii). There were many
uses of Plasma on the battlefield and on the whole, it helped keep a proper balance in the body which
makes it one of the best innovations in medical history. The pressing demand for blood on the
battlefields led to Britain organizing the International Transfusion Association in 1940 which collected
blood (people donated blood) and turned it into blood plasma. This program collected, processed and
transported 14,500 units of plasma to the allied armies and it was all done within five months
(home.att.net/wwii.htm). Dr. Drew was an important member of the group and his scientific research
helped revolutionize blood plasma transfusion so that blood plasma could readily be given to wounded
soldiers on the battlefield, which dramatically improved opportunities to save lives. Blood plasma
could also be dried which made it very easy to transport, pack, store and the soldiers could also carry
it around in their pockets (www.history.amedd/army). As mentioned in the United States office of war
newsreel Soldiers in Normandy got the best medical care science could offer and plasma cheated
death in cases of many soldiers (www.concise.britannica.com). Soldiers received the most modern
medical treatments on D day in Normandy beach and blood transfusion

Willy Loman And Modernism Analysis
the main character, it allows them to impress the audience and widen the boundaries of this type of art.
Additionally, Arthur Miller shows the problems of those people who are not able to adapt to the
constantly changing environment and live in the past. The author s claim to the audience to live for
today has a strong correlation with the core principle of modernism requiring from artists to break the
outdated rules and be concentrated on the current demands of society. Additionally, Arthur Miller is
trying to help the audience to keep pace with modern trends and in different spheres of life by
stressing the indifference of the cruel world to their problems and inefficiency of the outdated rules
and norms. People should understand that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shelagh Delany decides to show the life of the family, where poor relationships of mother (Helen) and
daughter (Jo) spoil their lives. The most challenging moment in this play is that such a situation in
family life is common. Generation gap and differences in their attitude to life are the core factors
affecting their peaceful communication. To raise the problem of a constantly changing environment,
the author describes the situation, where Helen, a gipsy soul, is always moving to a new flat, her
daughter Jo has no opportunity to normally study in any school for a long time (Delany 9).
Consequently, Jo has no internal forces to resist and chooses to go with the stream. Although school is
a very important social institution that can grant people success in their lives, Jo is ready to sacrifice
her successful future just to live away from her egocentric mother. Moreover, the dramatist reveals a
wide range of discriminations and prejudices existing in the real world. In her efforts to escape from
her problems, Jo finds the black boyfriend who helps her forget about her poor existence and feel
happiness. Jo has no prejudices concerning the color of her boyfriend s skin because he appears to be
friendlier and caring than her narcissistic mother. However, the Boy has certain concerns about the
attitude of Helen to his appearance and Jo needs to persuade him that her opinion is not important for

Obsessive-Cognitive-Compulsive Disorder Essay
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a sometimes disabling problem that catches people in
endless cycles of redundant thoughts and behaviors. People with OCD have haunting thoughts or fears
that continue repeating over and over in their mind that they can t control. The anxiety created by
these thoughts lead to an urgent need to perform certain things or routines. People usually repeat these
rituals in an attempt to stop the obsessive thoughts and make them go away. The thoughts or fears may
go away momentarily but before long the thoughts will come back. In some cases, an obsession can
get so bad as to take up hours of a persons life a day. An obsession can build until it will start to
interfere with a persons normal activities. Most people with obsessive compulsive disorder recognize
that their disorder is odd and excessive, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Getting rid of OCD requires some kind of treatment. The most common type of treatment includes a
mix between medicine and cognitive behavior therapy.
Cognitive behavior therapy. The goal of cognitive therapy is to teach a person to deal with their fears
and reduce anxiety without practicing their routine behaviors. Many times this is just like exposure
therapy. The person will be required to think through a situation in a comfy environment and solve it
without the use of the ritual.
Medication therapy. Tricyclic antidepressants, such as Anafranil, and selective serotonin reuptake
inhibitor antidepressants, such as Paxil, Prozac and Zoloft may be valuable in treating OCD.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ETC). In severe cases of OCD and in people who do not respond to
medical and behavioral therapy, electroconvulsive therapy (ETC) or psychosurgery may be used to
cure OCD. During ECT, electrodes are attached to the patient s head, and a series of electric shocks
are supplied to the brain, which induces seizures. The seizures cause the release of neurotransmitters

In the beginning God! These are not only the first words of God to mankind concerning the origin but
it is at the same time the last words also. At one point in time however, there was neither time nor
creation. God spoke the word and all creation came into being just as he spoke it. There was no greater
being before God, there is now no greater being than God, and there will never be any greater being
after God seeing that God is omnipresent and not going anywhere. Man has really tried to substitute
philosophy and science for the word of God, but God s statement still stands. Although Moses wrote

The Impact Of The Environment On The Environment
Humanity is slowly discovering new diseases, infections, and deadly illnesses. Researchers blame
genetics and how it is passed down from generation to generation through shared chromosomes. If
they don t blame genetics they blame the adaptation of species or the animals consumed by the
population. However, these animals carry what they consume: plants, insects, water, oxygen, and any
other animal the predators consume. People eat the meat, the vegetables, and breathe the oxygen that
the trees let out during photosynthesis, the food chain is being disrupted because of the impact that the
humans have on the ecosystem and vice versa. The realistic view of what is happening is that citizens
are innovating having the tendency to litter, industries are being created causing pollution and oil
spills, malls are being made while parks and forests are being cut down for parking. With this said, the
ecosystem is, in reality, the reason for the diseases affecting human health. As the environment
changes in the community, the human species struggle to adapt and accommodate themselves because
of pollution in the air, land, and water causing problems such as Cancer, Asthma, and other diseases.
Although the environment impacts human health, the human community is also having a drastic
impact on the environment because of gentrification, innovation, and accommodation.
The impact that the environment has on human health is just as drastic as humanity having an impact
on the environment. In

Racial Profiling Research
Racial profiling has come to represent one of the latest challenges toward law enforcement agencies in
the United States. In America, unfortunately, racial profiling occurs. For instance, NYPD officers
stopped about 87 percent of the public that were either black or Latino (Geller, 2014). In addition,
approximately the same percentage was not guilty of a crime. In the study by the American Journal of
Public Health, young men who encounter numerous police contact or aggressive stops by the police
reported that they had more trauma and anxiety symptoms than among young men who had less of
these encounters with the police (Geller, 2014). This means that less aggressive invasive tactics are
necessary for suspect in order to reduce the possibility

Implementing a New Wide Secure Wireless Network at Brigham...
Introduction
Brigham Young University Hawaii Campus wants to implement a campus wide secure wireless
network. In their existing system there are some network security flaws such as rouge access point
(Easily accessible open network), anyone can access and capture important information of users. We
have been hired by the BYU HAWAII to design and install a wireless network solution for the
university.
EXISTING SYSTEM

The security and privacy of students records is extremely important. Therefore we want to employs
firewalls, data encryption and email protection as a means of protecting confidential student
information.
In the proposed network two floors of each building will be connected with multi layer switch which
is further connected to the access points, results to be cost effective due to use of multi layer switch
instead of single switch for each floor .considering xirrus in the coming future will be even more
better for the campus network as that will replace the excess access points.
The communication between the three buildings can be maintained by two methods either the leasing
of Dark Fibre for Private Network from one of the ISP. This service provides optical Fibre as point to
point connection between both premises but it s not the cost effective.
Another option would be to install WiMAX Directional Antenna s on top of both buildings giving
clear Line Of Sight between them.
The line of sight service, where a fixed dish antenna points straight at the WiMAX tower from a
rooftop or pole, the line of sight connection is stronger and more stable, so it s able to send a lot of
data with fewer errors. Line of sight transmissions use higher frequencies, with ranges reaching a
possible 66 GHz. At higher frequencies, there is less interference and lots more bandwidth.

Essay on Nibco s Big Bang
NIBCO s Big Bang : SAP Implementation In 1994, after a significant strategic planning effort took
place, NIBCO Inc., decided to implement a plan to, Go Live with a new SAP program. (Brown,
Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) The reasons behind NIBCO s decision to implement and
ERP System are those that are familiar to other companies who have made the same decision. One of
the key conclusions from the strategic planning that led to the ERP implementation was that the
organization could not prosper with its current information systems. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin
amp; Perkins. 2012) They systems that they were currently using had evolved into a patchwork of
legacy systems and reporting tools that could not talk to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of NIBCO, it was not beneficial to their staff to put a rush on implementing the new SAP
program because this rush made it hard on employees and their families because the employee had to
work harder and longer. Having this type of work environment on a daily basis could definitely lead to
stress at home. The Boston Consulting group (BCG) was brought in to help the company develop a
strategic information systems plan to meet its new business objectives. The fact that they were
recommending a three to five year phased ERP implementation system was not the best approach
because it would take too long to implement. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012)
Another con in the implementation plan was the fact that NIBCO would have to commit a significant
portion of its resources in order to quickly put in place the systems to execute the new supply chain
and customer facing strategies. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) In implement
that SAP program, it seemed as if it would have benefited NIBCO better if the management
consultants would have known more about ERP and or SAP so it would not be difficult to apply their
principles. (Brown, Dehayes, Hoffer, Martin amp; Perkins. 2012) Even though there were some
negatives, there

Leadership Style Of Leadership And Leadership
Introduction
Leadership in today s society plays a very pivotal role in the outcome of a company or organization. In
addition, leaders and managers have to adhere to a strategic style of leadership that the managers and
associates have experienced over the years. With this being said, future leaders may experience
complex challenges such as natural disasters and terrorists, change in uncertainty in the business
political, and social environment. (Alexander, cited in Hasselbein and Goldsmith, 2006). One could
pose a statement, it s not if the challenge will come, it s how the leader will handle the challenge.
Many leaders have come from different approaches as to what leadership means to them. For example,
John Maxwell stated that leadership is a process marked by constant growth (Maxwell, 2013). In
addition, Greenleaf stated that true leadership emerges from those whose primary motivation is a deep
desire to help other, (Spears, 2004). Furthermore, according to Ken Blanchard, who is a world
announce leader, stated that Leadership style is, how you behave when you are trying to influence the
performance of some else, and that leadership is a combination of supportive and directive behaviors.
(Blanchard, Zigarmi 1985). An illustration of directive behavior would be a cook preparing an entrĂŠe
for a customer in a restaurant, who is being monitored by the chef. Also an illustration of supportive
behavior would be, a process of team building in the company

Emotional Intelligence And Criminal Behavior
There has been a considerable number of emotional intelligence studies done on a variety of
disciplines such as psychology, sociology and criminology. For many decades, criminal behavior has
been studied by these disciplines. Recently, these studies have focus on the relationship of criminal
behavior, with intelligence and personality traits. There also exists a large number of studies that
evaluate the emotional intelligence of both, transgressors and non offenders. However, a small amount
of these studies explore the transgressor population. In the cases where the studies consider felons as
direct variables, the results have been inconsistent. Perhaps, two of the major problems with these
studies, resides in the low sample taken into consideration, as well as, the non disparity of offences
committed. The author of the article Emotional Intelligence and Criminal Behavior assesses the
connection between emotional intelligence (EI) and criminal behavior. This research concentrates on
the emotional intelligence of transgressors. Centering its attention on the deficiencies expresses above,
gathering a larger sample and disparity of offences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Analysis of Sacrifice in Arthur Miller s All My Sons
In All My Sons sacrifice plays a crucial role in almost every part of the play. Miller explores the
impact of sacrifices made for one s family versus humanity as a whole, explicitly the direction and
intention of a sacrifice. As part of this essay, I will identify and explain what I consider to be the most
important in the play. The second aspect of sacrifice in All My Sons which I will examine in this essay
involves the idea that not all sacrifices are actually conscious decisions; many of the acts of sacrifice
in the play could be explained simply by an escape does Joe Keller kill himself as a final realisation of
the crimes that he has committed or just as an escape from the pressure around him?
When we first encounter the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the concept of a fine hairline crack could also be grafted onto Keller as a person: he has
a serious and life threatening flaw which is only revealed after close inspection.
In a sense, throughout the play Miller is also suggesting that just as an individual can thoroughly
disrupt a family, so can an individual completely eviscerate a society linking back to the idea of a
small crack and its massive outcome. Just as Joe Keller s denials lead to his family being torn apart, so
Miller is implying that the same is true on a much larger humanitarian scale.
As well as sacrificing morality, it is clear that towards the climax of the play, Joe sacrifices
responsibility in order to preserve himself. On page 55 George is having an argument with Chris, Joe
Keller s son when he says: And he s the kind of boss to let a hundred and twenty one cylinder heads be
repaired and shipped out of his shop without even knowing about it? This questioning towards Keller
is interesting because it shows us that George thinks he is responsible and he even comes up with a
diligent retort later on the same page which makes Joe seem like a responsible boss; even to the
audience: The same Joe Keller who never left his shop without first going round to see that all the
lights were out. This seemingly un arguable confirmation that Joe is a responsible person is torn apart
when we witness George, in a very accusatory manner, shout at Ann: He simply told your father

W. E. B. Dubois Dark Princess
People, no matter their race or color, have always wanted to be successful, live comfortably, and
provide for their families. While the definitions for success and comfort have changed over time, a
constant truth is that hard work and sacrifice are required to reach these goals. Moving from an
individual to the societal or political level, for many races and nations, progress can measure success.
Ethnic groups want progress towards equality, while nations, particularly those in Asia, Africa, and the
Middle East, want progress towards economic and industrial progress towards leveling with the West;
they also wish for political respect and autonomy. Since the end of the colonial era, there has been a
massive struggle by previously colonized nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examining W.E.B. Dubois novel Dark Princess, the characters of Sammy Scott and Sara Andrews
exemplify individualism completely. The honorable Sammy Scott was a leading black politician in
Chicago. Dubois described Sammy s beginnings: ...in 1910 by selling the right to gamble, keep houses
of prostitution, and commit petty theft, to certain men, white and black, who paid him in cash (Dubois,
pg. 82). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money for himself. He misses his
opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes that could improve the lives of
the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a gangster, promoting gambling and
prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating.
Dubois describes Sara on page 84 as having a good intellect without moral scruples and a clear idea of
the communal and social value of virginity, respectability, and good clothes . Dubois is saying she is
cunning, and in tune with what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be
successful, and like Sammy, she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog
eat dog existence, and were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note
that Dubois recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara
demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Unfortunately, others failed to
capitalize on Dubois foresight. Today there is an equal lack of cohesiveness amongst African
Americans, due to varying socioeconomic levels. At the time of civil rights, a black middle class was
able to forge ahead and have success. This professional level is still here today, but what also exists

Biblical Worldview In The Book Of Romans
The book of Romans was written by Paul to present a basic system of salvation to a church that had
not receive the teaching of an apostle before. In this book, the basis of a biblical worldview can be
illustrated by Paul when it comes to explaining the natural world, our human identity, human
relationships, and culture. With regards to the natural world, Romans states that For ever since the
world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can
clearly see his invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not
knowing God (Romans 1:20, NLT). The world was made perfect from God s hands and science taken
the credit away from Him and given it to Evolution other erroneous ideas. It goes on to say they
thought foolishly of what God was like and eventually became lost and confused. So instead of
worshipping God, they worshiped idols and God abandoned them to do whatever their hearts wished
(Romans 1:21 24). People in this world are no different from those in Paul s days. The idols people
worship today range from people, statues, wealth, material things, etc. It may not be the physical and
literal act of bowing down to those things but in their actions, it s clear that that s all their minds are
set on. Verses 25 32 is a perfect example of how people live; a perfect example of how we are not to
live. Naturally we are all sinners but because of Jesus we can be forgiven for those sins and free from

Essay On Advantages And Disadvantages Of Thailand
3.1.3 More advantages of Thailand
According to our research, we think that Thailand can provide a huge clean energy market for our
company mainly from four aspects:
1)Relations between Thailand and Philippines:
The bilateral relations between Thailand and Philippines will continue to be strengthened through
talks and agreements on economic, trades and security. (The Philstar, 2012). Johanna (2012) reported
that the previous JCBC had led to an agreement between Thailand and Philippines governments to set

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Parrquet Floor
Pros and Cons of Parquet Floors
Advantages of Parquet Floors
Parquet floors are one of different styles available for designing wooden floors. Parquetry flooring can
be considered to be a more specific type of mosaic flooring. In parquetry geometric wooden shapes
are used to create patterns on the floor. Hardwood is the category of wood employed for parquetry.
Parquet floors are made up of any kind of wood whether it is oak, cherry, walnut, pine etc. The various
wooden pieces are often created using different types of woods and different kinds of wood grains.
The pattern created in a parquet floor can be a large one. In many cases, the pattern encompasses the
entire floor area of a room. Sometimes, smaller designs and patterns are created in the form of a tile.
These identical tiles are then used all over the room to create a flooring pattern. Therefore, no two
floor look similar when it comes to parquet flooring.
 Advantages of parquet flooring:
The popularity of parquetry flooring is due to many factors. It is the most popular kind of hard wood
flooring.

floors. It is the presence of the hardwood which is responsible for the durable and resistive properties
of the parquet floors. If a parquet floor is constructed from a good quality of hardwood, the floor can
last at least for 50 years. There will be no need to perform any restorations or renovations for a long

Summary Of Martin Luther s Letter To The Archbishop
The letter written by Martin Luther to the Archbishop of Mainz stated simply, clarifies why
indulgences should not be sold. Martin Luther implores with the Archbishop to have pity on him for
being so opinionated to a person so holy and significant, as ordinarily he would not dare, but he must
tell the Archbishop his thoughts. To be specific, his long time disagreement with the selling of
indulgences, but he can stand it no longer. The Archbishop is warned that St Peter s is selling the
indulgences under his name. The letter then explains that the obtaining of these indulgences causes the
people to believe that they and their loved ones are saved from Purgatory. No matter how appalling the
crime a person has committed, if they purchase these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Archbishop is reminded by Luther that all people must work out their salvation themselves.
Moreover, indulgences are taught in church, yet devotion and love are seldom preached, despite being
much more important. What was significant was that the people should learn the bible and the grace of
God, as indulgences were never mentioned in the bible. Luther then pleads that he himself is helpless
to do anything to aid this problem, but the Archbishop can, if he so chooses.
I believe Martin Luther wrote this letter out of desperation. Out of his eyes, the church was not
following God s lead. This must have terrified him, and made him feel like he had to do something.
Luther obviously cared very much about the church, so when he thought the church was not following
the bible, it must have sent him into a panic. To Luther, the selling and purchasing of indulgencies was
nothing but a scam for the church to make money.
Due to the letter and Luther s 95 Theses, Martin Luther was excommunicated. Consequently, Luther
and his supporters reformed the church. This reformation caused many people to lessen their support

Essay On Transformational Leaders
Some think shiny jets like the F 22 Raptor or the F 35 Lightning II make the United States Air Force
(USAF) the best in the world. I don t. The USAF as we know it wouldn t even exist if it wasn t for
transformational leaders. We, by we I mean Airmen, tend to think of ourselves as employed in a
technical occupation, turning wrenches or pushing buttons or adding up figures. But we are in the
Service of Ideas, ideas like man can fly and air superiority is critical to national defense. But flying
itself didn t create an air force. Having the idea that mastery of the Wild Blue Yonder would make the
United States (US) military the best and most lethal in the world, and that the US Army did not fully
appreciate that idea, was a job only a transformational leader could accomplish.
But what is a transformational leader? What impact do they have? What are their characteristics?
Clearly their impact can be as great as leading the way towards the greatest fighting force man has
ever known. Their characteristics can be subtler but are just as important as the ideas they advocate.

Joseph Conrad Imperialism
Modern Imperialism Alexander Spirovski LITR 211 Professor David Auchter American Public
University Heart of Darkness is a novella written by Joseph Conrad based on his six month stay in
Congo, Africa which is considered a significant tome for its depiction of Imperialism. Imperialism is
defined as a policy or practice by which a country increases its power by gaining control over other
areas of the world. (Merriam Webster Dictionary) In it Conrad depicts the treatment of the local
natives by Europeans and the motives of Europeans to compare actual activities in Africa to the

According to BBC.com, fighting amongst these groups is ultimately for command of mineral and
other resources which Europeans previously controlled. Apparently the citizens there have not learned
anything from their prior overlords except the repetition of imperialistic behavior. Perhaps it is even
worse as Europeans did not seem interested in ethnic cleansing. I think Congo might possibly be a lost
cause as it is virtually impossible for them to create a new vision and model for themselves as long as
they fight amongst themselves. This setting perfectly describes a modern tragedy since they are
unwilling to unite in order to create an optimal society for themselves especially given that no other

The Dynamical Behaviors Of Complementary Correlations...
REFEREE REPORT MANUSCRIPT # SREP 16 20322 PAPER DESCRIPTION In the paper titled
The dynamical behaviors of complementary correlations under decoherence channels , Du et.al have
investigated the relationship between complementary correlations (CC) and the entanglement over
noisy channels. In particular, for bipartite qubit systems, it has been shown that there exists an optimal
threshold to which CC has to be compared in order to determine the dynamical behavior of
entanglement. Furthermore, authors claim to derive a novel threshold on environment parameter as
well which is based on the Pearson correlation between measured outcomes of complementary
observables. This topic has already been investigated to some extent in Ref. [1], the main novelty of
this work is the inclusion of the decoherence. COMMENTS AND DECSISION Besides a number of
grammatical and spelling typos, the paper has been demonstrated a relation between CC and
entanglement over noisy quantum channels for bipartite qubit systems. Also, in my opinion, the claims
based on the results haven t been exaggerated. In view of all of this, I can recommend publication of
this paper in the scientific reports provided the authors address the following questions/concerns

Analysis Of An Extraordinary Pair
General Groves is the biggest S.O.B I have ever worked for. (Colonel Kenneth D. Nicholas, 121).
General Groves is a man that is neutral and does not take no for an answer. Groves behavior such as,
the way he treats others, holding all authority and responsibility, as well as the way he presents
himself points to him being a successful autocratic leader. Autocratic leadership is a style where
everything is centered on the boss meaning that they make decisions without consulting others and
have little flexibility. He has exhibited little flexibility this throughout all the readings in An
Extraordinary Pair by having high expectations of those around him. He abounds with energy and
expects everyone to work as hard or even harder, than he does... (Colonel Kenneth D. Nicholas, 121).
There have been multiple accounts of Groves emotional neutrality. Emotional Neutrality s the concept
of removing emotions from decisions. At the beginning of An Extraordinary Pair both Groves and
Oppenheimer were characterized as people who ...overcame personal differences to achieve their
common purpose. (109). Groves himself has addressed his neutrality by stating My emotional graph is
a straight line... (General Groves, Robert DeVore 119). This idea of having a lack of emotion has
allowed Groves to not be surprised nor elated by the continued success of the project. The general
opinion about Groves is that people saw him as a highly intelligent individual as well as someone who

Ethics And The Natural Environment
Ethics are according to BusinessDictionary.com, The basic concepts and fundamental principles of
decent human conduct. It includes study of universal values such as the essential equality of all men
and women, human or natural rights, obedience to the law of land, concern for health and safety and,
increasingly, also for the natural environment (Ethics, 2015). For entrepreneurs, ethics are a large
portion of the decisions that are dealt with every day. People do not go out into the world saying I am

For instance, if an entrepreneur needs further funding to keep their business from failing but their lack
of funding makes investors uncomfortable, they can be in a dilemma. It is easier if they lie and tell
investors the funds they need are for a new project. The chances are they would get the funding faster
than if they were honest and explained that they needed it to stay afloat. Since the entrepreneur is so
attached to their company, they often would do anything in order to keep it alive. Time is another
cause for temptation. The ethical choice is not just usually the more difficult one, it is frequently the
one that takes more time. Sometimes it is because they need to meet that deadline, or get a shortcut to
a goal. Patience is not as common in this world as it should be. It is grueling for some entrepreneurs to
wait while their company grows and develops. Ethical decisions are not always enormous business
altering decisions. If fact, the most common unethical practices are practically unnoticeable.
According to Entrepreneur.com, there are five mistakes that entrepreneurs make regularly. They
include, 1. You snuck a few personal expenses through the business. 2. You hired that person because
you just liked him more. 3. You shipped a product to a bigger customer ahead of a smaller one. 4. You

Birthday Party by Katherine Brush uses literary devices such as tone, point of view, diction, and

different from the tone of the story. The tone changes from happy to sad as soon as the cake is brought

her sentiments about the husband s response, coloring him as cruel and unkind (line eighteen). The
line You looked at him and you saw this and you thought, Oh, now don t be like that! and the author s
italicization of the word be implies a certain amount of disgust for a husband who is trying to crush his
wife s jovial spirit. With a spit of contempt, Brush adds that he was like that (line fifteen), intensifying
her anger and disapprobation of his meanness. Brush supplies a list of words to describe what the
husband muttered to his wife as some punishing thing, quick and curt and unkind (line eighteen). The
lengthened syntax in this sentence has the feel of the husband s criticism of his wife for essentially
being sweet to him. He comes off as a nasty man too concerned with his macho, stoical reputation to
take a moment to be nice to his wife and thank her for remembering his birthday. Birthday Party is an
ironic story with an ironic title. What this husband and wife experience is certainly no party, but
merely another miserable episode in their unenviable

Human Existence Is Dependent On Water
Human existence is dependent on water; without it we simply cannot survive. But what is water?
Water is defined in Chambers Science and Technology Dictionary (Chambers, 1988) as a colourless,
odourless, tasteless liquid comprising the chemical elements of hydrogen and oxide. (Stookes, 2009,
p. 328) Approximately 70% of the Earths surface is covered in water, however only around 2.5% of
this is fresh water which is fit for human consumption, and of this 2.5% less than 1% is accessible.
See (Change, 2006). Therefore it is imperative that the fresh water supplies which human existence
relies so heavily upon are kept free from pollution in all its forms. UK Law Currently Defra and the
National Assembly for Wales (NAW) are responsible for all aspects of water policy in England and
Wales, including water supply and resources and the regulatory systems for the water environment and
the water industry . (Stookes, 2009, p. 329) However within the UK, laws to protect water supplies
can be seen as far back as 1875 with the Public Health Act and the Rivers Pollution Prevention Act
1876. It is from 1868 that the first precedent case relating to water pollution can be found with the
case of Rylands v Fletcher. The pollutant in this case was not a dangerous substance but water itself in
large quantities. This historical reference highlights that water is a valuable resource that requires
protection and conservation but that it can also be a source of pollution, e.g. in cases of

The Natural Approach ( Na ) Developed By Tracy Terrell And...
The Natural Approach The Natural Approach (NA) developed by Tracy Terrell and supported by
Stephen Krashen, is a language teaching approach based on how babies naturally learned their native
language. The efficiency of the NA is derived from its very own structure: a communicative based
approach, which produces superior results than any habit drill approach. Its own name reflects the
importance of this method, since it duplicates the natural path of first language acquisition into second
language acquisition. Therefore, students should first be able to acquire language before they are able
to speak it; oral production should be delay until it naturally emerges or when the students are ready to
do so. Acquisition and learning are two different concepts that need to be addressed differently in
order for the student to learn a new language. In The Natural Approach to Language Teaching: An
Update, Tracy Terrell explains Krahen s Monitor Theory, which categorizes these two conceptions
apart by stating that acquisition is the unconscious formulation of grammatical principles and learning
as the conscious cognitive based study of grammar (122). Such definitions suggest that the best time
for students to learn a language is outside the classroom, where they are exposed to language in its
natural form. They are exposed to little acquisition practices outside the classroom; therefore,
acquisition should happen in the classroom and learning outside the classroom. They are

Circumcision Is A Debating Procedure For Many Years
Circumcision has been a debating procedure for many years. It is a procedure that means cutting off
the foreskin, or ring of tissue that covers the head of the penis. Circumcision is said to have started
many years ago and is a big part is some religions. For example, according to the book of Genesis in
the Torah, god made a covenent with Abraham (a Jewish patriarch) in which Abraham and his
decendents would be given great land riches, and success. There was only one catch, Abraham, his
descendants, any slaves purchased or born in his house hold by the eighth day of life. If any failed to
do so then they would be separate from his people and live without the favor of god. Untill this day
Jewish people have lived by that and is a strong religious belief. This procedure on the Jews was
called a bris or brit milah.
Even though circumcision was practiced in different areas of the world, it was first documented in art
form by the Egyptians. They circumcised because they believed it was a method of purification. It
later started making its way to other cultures, but nobody really knows why the practice spread nor
why it even started.
Many other countries removed the foreskin because they believed it marked entrance into adulthood,
to humiliate enemies, to identify those with higher social status, to enhance or limit sexual pleasure.
Also having your penis circumcised helped make it easier to maintain clean. Normally circumcision
was done at the age where they thought was

Changes Associated With Left Ventricular Hypertrophy With...
Electrocardiographic changes can include left ventricular hypertrophy with repolarisation changes
with T wave inversion and deep Q waves. In family members carrying HCM gene mutations, the
electrocardiogram may demonstrate only minor abnormalities. The presence of non sustained
ventricular tachycardia, a risk factor for sudden death, should be tested for by means of Holter
monitoring (Maron et al., 2003). At present, the diagnosis of HCM relies on echocardiography
revealing symmetric or asymmetric hypertrophy. Secondary causes of hypertrophy, including valvular
disease or systemic hypertension, should be excluded. 2D imaging of the left ventricle by
echocardiography can confirm the diagnosis in affected patients. The ejection fraction, a measure of
left ventricular systolic function, is typically preserved but there is usually evidence of diastolic
dysfunction. These can be measured by tissue Doppler ultrasonography, which can show diastolic
dysfunction before the development of hypertrophy (Maron, 2002). Histologically, HCM is
characterized by cardiac myocyte disarray and fibrosis. Myocyte death and myocardial scarring may
be present and coronary arteries may have thickened walls. This pathology can promote ventricular
tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation (Maron, 2002). More recently, echocardiographic techniques
have been developed to refine diagnosis (and risk stratification) e.g. Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI)

Software Defined Networking ( Sdn ) Essay
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a way to construct networks virtually with software that can
be hosted on one machine. These software can solve issues such as cost, scalability, and security.
Software defined networking is an approach to computer networking that allows network
administrators to manage network services with lower level functionality. SDN is meant to address the
fact that the static architecture of traditional networks doesn t support the dynamic, scalable
computing and storage needs of more modern computing environments such as data centers. This is
done by decoupling or disassociating the system that makes decisions about where traffic is sent from
the underlying systems that forward traffic to the selected destination . SDN was commonly associated
with the OpenFlow protocol since the latter s emergence in 2011. Since 2012, however, many
companies have moved away from OpenFlow, and have embraced different techniques. These include
Cisco Systems Open Network Environment and Nicira s network virtualization platform. SD WAN
applies similar technology to a wide area network . History The origins of software defined
networking began shortly after Sun Microsystems released Java in 1995. One of the first SDN projects
was AT T s GeoPlex. AT T Labs Geoplex project members Michah Lerner, George Vanecek, Nino
Vidovic, and Dado Vrsalovic leveraged the network APIs and dynamic aspects of the Java language as
a means to implement middleware networks.

are important factors to customer value perceptions. Although customer perceived value has long been
recognized in marketing research as an important concept in influencing preference, satisfaction,
loyalty, and other important outcomes (Cronin et al., 2000), most studies have examined customer
value in the context of offline rather than online customer behavior (Overby Lee, 2006). Although
customer perceived value in the online shopping environment is of crucial importance, previous
studies have neglected that variable (Chang et al., 2005). In an online environment, customers can find
alternatives easily; therefore building long term relationships presents a more difficult challenge for E
commerce companies (Chang Wang, 2011). Gummerus (2010) investigated the impact of three
resource inputs (i.e., service content, service process, and service configurations) on the perceptions of
value of a Finnish health care website. The results reveal that the service content of the discussion

subject to spending limits on money.
To gain votes from recently enfranchised, unpropertied voters, Andrew Jackson launched his
campaign for the 1828 election through a network of partisan newspapers across the nation. After his
election, Jackson began a political patronage system that rewarded political party operatives, which
had a profound effect on future elections. Eventually, appointees were expected to contribute portions
of their pay back to the political party. During the Jacksonian era, some of the first attempts were
made by corporations to influence politicians. Jackson claimed that his charter battle against the
Second Bank of the United States was one of the great struggles between democracy and the money
power. While it was rumored that The Bank of the United States spent over $40,000 from 1830 to
1832 in an effort to stop

  • 2. Medical advancements in World War Two World War II brought death and destruction upon the world. On the other hand, it also opened doors for pioneering developments that commonly occur during such situations of high adversity. Some of the most important advancements took place in the field of medicine when the world was embroiled in World War II. As Dr. Ralph Major states, An army is a vast laboratory of medical research where disease and injuries are seen on a far larger scale than in peacetime. Many improvements in the treatment of infections have come from experiences on the battlefield (Major 52). Devastation in the war left countless soldiers and civilians with life threatening injuries and diseases. This devastation and destruction, led to the innovation of the three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Plasma was used to transfer blood as it served to keep satisfactory blood pressure and supply critical proteins and globulins (antibodies) to the wounded soldiers (www.usaaf.net/wwii). There were many uses of Plasma on the battlefield and on the whole, it helped keep a proper balance in the body which makes it one of the best innovations in medical history. The pressing demand for blood on the battlefields led to Britain organizing the International Transfusion Association in 1940 which collected blood (people donated blood) and turned it into blood plasma. This program collected, processed and transported 14,500 units of plasma to the allied armies and it was all done within five months (home.att.net/wwii.htm). Dr. Drew was an important member of the group and his scientific research helped revolutionize blood plasma transfusion so that blood plasma could readily be given to wounded soldiers on the battlefield, which dramatically improved opportunities to save lives. Blood plasma could also be dried which made it very easy to transport, pack, store and the soldiers could also carry it around in their pockets (www.history.amedd/army). As mentioned in the United States office of war newsreel Soldiers in Normandy got the best medical care science could offer and plasma cheated death in cases of many soldiers (www.concise.britannica.com). One of the key conclusions from the strategic planning that led to the ERP implementation was that the organization could not prosper with its current information systems. Emotional Intelligence And Criminal Behavior There has been a considerable number of emotional intelligence studies done on a variety of disciplines such as psychology, sociology and criminology. For many decades, criminal behavior has been studied by these disciplines. Recently, these studies have focus on the relationship of criminal behavior, with intelligence and personality traits. There also exists a large number of studies that evaluate the emotional intelligence of both, transgressors and non offenders. However, a small amount of these studies explore the transgressor population. In the cases where the studies consider felons as direct variables, the results have been inconsistent. Perhaps, two of the major problems with these studies, resides in the low sample taken into consideration, as well as, the non disparity of offences committed. • 16. An Analysis of Sacrifice in Arthur Miller s All My Sons In All My Sons sacrifice plays a crucial role in almost every part of the play. Miller explores the impact of sacrifices made for one s family versus humanity as a whole, explicitly the direction and intention of a sacrifice. As part of this essay, I will identify and explain what I consider to be the most important in the play. The second aspect of sacrifice in All My Sons which I will examine in this essay involves the idea that not all sacrifices are actually conscious decisions; many of the acts of sacrifice in the play could be explained simply by an escape does Joe Keller kill himself as a final realisation of the crimes that he has committed or just as an escape from the pressure around him? When we first encounter the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, the concept of a fine hairline crack could also be grafted onto Keller as a person: he has a serious and life threatening flaw which is only revealed after close inspection. In a sense, throughout the play Miller is also suggesting that just as an individual can thoroughly disrupt a family, so can an individual completely eviscerate a society linking back to the idea of a small crack and its massive outcome. Just as Joe Keller s denials lead to his family being torn apart, so Miller is implying that the same is true on a much larger humanitarian scale. As well as sacrificing morality, it is clear that towards the climax of the play, Joe sacrifices responsibility in order to preserve himself. On page 55 George is having an argument with Chris, Joe Keller s son when he says: And he s the kind of boss to let a hundred and twenty one cylinder heads be repaired and shipped out of his shop without even knowing about it? This questioning towards Keller is interesting because it shows us that George thinks he is responsible and he even comes up with a diligent retort later on the same page which makes Joe seem like a responsible boss; even to the audience: The same Joe Keller who never left his shop without first going round to see that all the lights were out. Dubois novel Dark Princess, the characters of Sammy Scott and Sara Andrews exemplify individualism completely. The honorable Sammy Scott was a leading black politician in Chicago. Dubois described Sammy s beginnings: ...in 1910 by selling the right to gamble, keep houses of prostitution, and commit petty theft, to certain men, white and black, who paid him in cash (Dubois, pg. 82). Sammy is completely corrupt, wanting power and money for himself. He misses his opportunity as a politician to help his district, make positive changes that could improve the lives of the black people all around him. Instead he chooses to be a gangster, promoting gambling and prostitution, and maintaining a criminal undertone in Chicago. Sara Andrews was equally calculating. Dubois describes Sara on page 84 as having a good intellect without moral scruples and a clear idea of the communal and social value of virginity, respectability, and good clothes . Dubois is saying she is cunning, and in tune with what is expected in society. She knows what she needs to do to be successful, and like Sammy, she wants all of the power for herself. Sammy and Sara both lived a dog eat dog existence, and were willing to sacrifice others on their way to the top. It is important to note that Dubois recognized individualism as a major obstacle for racial progress, and Sammy and Sara demonstrated the issues stemming from individualism in Dark Princess. Unfortunately, others failed to capitalize on Dubois foresight. Today there is an equal lack of cohesiveness amongst African Americans, due to varying socioeconomic levels. It goes on to say they thought foolishly of what God was like and eventually became lost and confused. So instead of worshipping God, they worshiped idols and God abandoned them to do whatever their hearts wished (Romans 1:21 24). People in this world are no different from those in Paul s days. Apparently the citizens there have not learned anything from their prior overlords except the repetition of imperialistic behavior. I think Congo might possibly be a lost cause as it is virtually impossible for them to create a new vision and model for themselves as long as they fight amongst themselves. REFEREE REPORT MANUSCRIPT # SREP 16 20322 PAPER DESCRIPTION In the paper titled The dynamical behaviors of complementary correlations under decoherence channels , Du et.al have investigated the relationship between complementary correlations (CC) and the entanglement over noisy channels. In particular, for bipartite qubit systems, it has been shown that there exists an optimal threshold to which CC has to be compared in order to determine the dynamical behavior of entanglement. Furthermore, authors claim to derive a novel threshold on environment parameter as well which is based on the Pearson correlation between measured outcomes of complementary observables. This topic has already been investigated to some extent in Ref. [1], the main novelty of this work is the inclusion of the decoherence. COMMENTS AND DECSISION Besides a number of grammatical and spelling typos, the paper has been demonstrated a relation between CC and entanglement over noisy quantum channels for bipartite qubit systems. Also, in my opinion, the claims based on the results haven t been exaggerated. In view of all of this, I can recommend publication of this paper in the scientific reports provided the authors address the following questions/concerns appropriately: QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS From the ... • 33. Human Existence Is Dependent On Water Human existence is dependent on water; without it we simply cannot survive. But what is water? Water is defined in Chambers Science and Technology Dictionary (Chambers, 1988) as a colourless, odourless, tasteless liquid comprising the chemical elements of hydrogen and oxide. (Stookes, 2009, p. 328) Approximately 70% of the Earths surface is covered in water, however only around 2.5% of this is fresh water which is fit for human consumption, and of this 2.5% less than 1% is accessible. See (Change, 2006). Therefore it is imperative that the fresh water supplies which human existence relies so heavily upon are kept free from pollution in all its forms. UK Law Currently Defra and the National Assembly for Wales (NAW) are responsible for all aspects of water policy in England and Wales, including water supply and resources and the regulatory systems for the water environment and the water industry . (Stookes, 2009, p. 329) However within the UK, laws to protect water supplies can be seen as far back as 1875 with the Public Health Act and the Rivers Pollution Prevention Act 1876. It is from 1868 that the first precedent case relating to water pollution can be found with the case of Rylands v Fletcher. The pollutant in this case was not a dangerous substance but water itself in large quantities. The Natural Approach The Natural Approach (NA) developed by Tracy Terrell and supported by Stephen Krashen, is a language teaching approach based on how babies naturally learned their native language. The efficiency of the NA is derived from its very own structure: a communicative based approach, which produces superior results than any habit drill approach. Its own name reflects the importance of this method, since it duplicates the natural path of first language acquisition into second language acquisition. Therefore, students should first be able to acquire language before they are able to speak it; oral production should be delay until it naturally emerges or when the students are ready to do so. Acquisition and learning are two different concepts that need to be addressed differently in order for the student to learn a new language. In The Natural Approach to Language Teaching: An Update, Tracy Terrell explains Krahen s Monitor Theory, which categorizes these two conceptions apart by stating that acquisition is the unconscious formulation of grammatical principles and learning as the conscious cognitive based study of grammar (122). Such definitions suggest that the best time for students to learn a language is outside the classroom, where they are exposed to language in its natural form. They are exposed to little acquisition practices outside the classroom; therefore, acquisition should happen in the classroom and learning outside the classroom. They are ... Electrocardiographic changes can include left ventricular hypertrophy with repolarisation changes with T wave inversion and deep Q waves. In family members carrying HCM gene mutations, the electrocardiogram may demonstrate only minor abnormalities. The presence of non sustained ventricular tachycardia, a risk factor for sudden death, should be tested for by means of Holter monitoring (Maron et al., 2003). At present, the diagnosis of HCM relies on echocardiography revealing symmetric or asymmetric hypertrophy. Secondary causes of hypertrophy, including valvular disease or systemic hypertension, should be excluded. 2D imaging of the left ventricle by echocardiography can confirm the diagnosis in affected patients. The ejection fraction, a measure of left ventricular systolic function, is typically preserved but there is usually evidence of diastolic dysfunction. These can be measured by tissue Doppler ultrasonography, which can show diastolic dysfunction before the development of hypertrophy (Maron, 2002). Histologically, HCM is characterized by cardiac myocyte disarray and fibrosis. Myocyte death and myocardial scarring may be present and coronary arteries may have thickened walls. This pathology can promote ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation (Maron, 2002). These software can solve issues such as cost, scalability, and security. Software defined networking is an approach to computer networking that allows network administrators to manage network services with lower level functionality. SDN is meant to address the fact that the static architecture of traditional networks doesn t support the dynamic, scalable computing and storage needs of more modern computing environments such as data centers. This is done by decoupling or disassociating the system that makes decisions about where traffic is sent from the underlying systems that forward traffic to the selected destination . SDN was commonly associated with the OpenFlow protocol since the latter s emergence in 2011. Since 2012, however, many companies have moved away from OpenFlow, and have embraced different techniques. These include Cisco Systems Open Network Environment and Nicira s network virtualization platform. SD WAN applies similar technology to a wide area network . History The origins of software defined networking began shortly after Sun Microsystems released Java in 1995. One of the first SDN projects was AT T s GeoPlex. AT T Labs Geoplex project members Michah Lerner, George Vanecek, Nino Vidovic, and Dado Vrsalovic leveraged the network APIs and dynamic aspects of the Java language as a means to implement middleware networks. ... Service Quality Is An Antecedent Of Perceived Value Essay Service quality is an antecedent of perceived value, and it will cause a significant influence on perceived value (Bojanic, 1996; Oh, 1999; Sweeney et al., 1999). Ostrom Iacobucci (1995) found that price, level of quality, friendliness of service personnel, and the degree of customization of the service are important factors to customer value perceptions. Although customer perceived value has long been recognized in marketing research as an important concept in influencing preference, satisfaction, loyalty, and other important outcomes (Cronin et al., 2000), most studies have examined customer value in the context of offline rather than online customer behavior (Overby Lee, 2006). Although customer perceived value in the online shopping environment is of crucial importance, previous studies have neglected that variable (Chang et al., 2005). In an online environment, customers can find alternatives easily; therefore building long term relationships presents a more difficult challenge for E commerce companies (Chang Wang, 2011). Gummerus (2010) investigated the impact of three resource inputs (i.e., service content, service process, and service configurations) on the perceptions of value of a Finnish health care website. At the federal level, campaign finance law is enacted by Congress and enforced by the Federal Election Commission (FEC), an independent federal agency. Although more campaign spending is privately financed, public financing is available for qualifying candidates for President of the United States during both the primaries and the general election.
