The Space Of Space Exploration Essay
Introduction
One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe;
decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the
fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the
Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1,
the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the
Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was
founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths
residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of
space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called
Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest
and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive
teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering.
The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the
best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed NASA
spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between their
highly diverse team members. NASA continues to recruit

How Did Pope John Paul II Impact The World
Pope John Paul II created religious ideas, used (Habit of mind) to innovate (ways to overcome
challenge write challenge), and illuminated the world by spreading the Good News of the Bible in an
exciting, different way.
Pope John Paul II created amazing things, but not in a way you would expect. He created ideas.
Instead of doing things the way everyone else did, he made people think. At an early age, John Paul
was exposed to wonderful outgoing people that inspired him, like Jan Tryanowski.
(http://www.catholic.org) They shaped his exciting yet inspiring personality. Since he was from
Poland, he cared about ideas that were advertised there. Pope John Paul was one of the reasons
communism was put to a stop in Poland.
Pope John Paul II had any different people to talk to and points to make, so being innovative was very
important. To get through to everyone, sometimes he had to look at things another way. Many people

While he was finding his interest in priesthood, the Second World War occurred. The troubles he had

Concept Of Tuition Fees
The Nobody State University when increasing the tuition fee should do this while ensuring that the
university maintains healthy enrolment of students. The increase in tuition fee will not necessarily lead
to increase in revenue. Theoretically, we can use the price elasticity concept. The concept explains the
relationship between the responsiveness of demand towards changes in price (Cini 2015). Higher
tuition fees will mean that newer students will prefer universities that are much cheaper. NSU goal to
raise more revenue will not be achieved. The already existing students, however, will have no choice
but to pay the new tuition fees. Getting higher education is every person s needs and for the university
to increase fees might make this a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paying in installments will lessen the effect the student will feel when the fees are increased. The
increase in revenue will make the students more resistant to any other change that the university might
want to add.
The amount of revenue will remain the same if the cost of collecting that revenue will increase.
Admissions of students cost a lot of money. The difference will just be the same, and the university
will not have done any justice to itself or the students. Fewer students to be enrolled will mean that the
staff is underworked. The economy is another condition that will decide whether revenue will increase
once the fee is increased. Improved economy means that students can afford the state university fees.
Regardless of the increased fee, more students will want to enroll (Cini 2015). What the university
should do to expand revenue is through marketing. The university should have a good marketing plan
to attract more students to the school. Nobody State University can for example come up with a
program that students apply for free school meals for those who academically perform better. Search
kind of marketing strategy will attract more students to enroll. This way revenue will be expanded.
Another way to expand revenue is through resourceful staffing. The university can look at how
efficiency can be achieved in the staffing budget. The university should have guidance on organizing
staff structure which is

Religious Prayer Within Public Schools
Religious prayer within public schools has been a heated debate for many years and ultimately has
caught national attention. Overtime many court cases have challenge this issue. The Constitution itself
is on the fence of religious prayer because of the First Amendment s freedom of speech clause which
prohibits the government s involvement with the freedom of exercise of religion. The policy of
religious prayer within Mississippi public schools is a state policy level. In the year of 2013, Governor
Phil Bryant of Mississippi signed a bill/law that protects voluntary prayers from students on public
school property and other public property. This policy also protects student prayers at public school
related events such as praying over public school intercoms, at assemblies, and sporting events. In
addition, the policy allows students to openly discuss their faith with classrooms and permits students
to establish organizations such as a bible club. To clarify, the term protection does not imply that the
law is promoting any religion or religious belief. However, it is against the law for administration
from public schools to lead a public school prayer.

Case Uses Objectives
This case can be used to augment discussions of strategic analysis, specifically both internal and
external environmental analysis (Chapters 2 3 in Dess, Lumpkin Eisner); and strategic formulation,
specifically business level strategy (Chapter 5), with an additional focus on strategic implementation,
specifically entrepreneurial development (Chapters 12 13).
The case is written in a style that overviews the situation but intentionally avoids guiding students
through any analytical framework or specific application question. In so doing, it provides the
instructor with the latitude to adjust class discussion and thereby accommodate the ... Show more

Specific to the entrepreneurial challenges, the instructor also has the latitude to discuss the prospects
and problems that the firm would encounter in future in its growth endeavor. This could involve a
discussion on the various avenues of growth, the feasibility of the avenues, possible competitor
reaction and how the company could cope with it. This case can be used to demonstrate the difficulty
of introducing a new product to an already well established market, the challenges of being a small
player in a big market, and the challenges of expansion for a highly specialized product. The instructor
is free to choose the concepts to highlight from Chapters 12 and 13.
Synopsis
Dippin Dots is a 16 year old, over $36 million dollar company employing 160 people, and
headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky. The company s chief operation is the sale of Dippin Dots ice
cream to franchisees and national accounts throughout the world. Dippin Dots are tiny round beads of
ice cream that are made at super cold temperatures and served at subzero temperatures in a soufflé cup
with a spoon. The product is served in 4 oz., 5 oz. and 8 oz. cups, and 5 oz. vending pre packs.
After virtually reinventing a frozen dessert that had been around since the second century B.C., Dippin

were representations made to induce the contract. The issue is whether Valentino purposefully made
false statements, was reckless or innocent in those statements. A Fraudulent statement is knowing the

did not care. There is an element of dishonesty here. In fraudulent cases the burden of proof is on the
claimant, this means the claimant must prove the defendants guilt. It s very hard to prove a fraudulent
misrepresentation; if unsuccessful the defendants representations are presumed innocent. Innocent
misrepresentations are made when the representor genuinely believes the false statement. It would be

quot;Burning of Los Angeles quot; Essay
In the book The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West, Tod Hackett is an artist who was scouted to
come to Hollywood to learn set and costume designing. After walking around Los Angeles, Tod sees
people that are of a different type (West 23). Tod wants to paint these people who he believes came to
California to die. Throughout the book Tod s painting, The Burning of Los Angeles , is coming to life.
In the last section of the book West has Tod in a mob scene. Tod is painting the people he has met. He
is painting Faye; Faye ran proudly throwing her knees high. Harry stumbled along behind her, holding
unto his beloved derby hat with both hands (West 201). This quote shows Tod s view of Faye and her
relationship with her father. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two scenes showed Faye like she was in the painting; she had to be better than everyone and
proud to be herself, a selfish woman getting what she wanted. Tod also painted Claude with his turned
as he ran to thumb his nose at his pursuers (West 201). Tod saw Claude this way because of the first
impression of Claude and his friends. Claude had a huge house that was an exact reproduction of a
mansion in Mississippi. After meeting some people Tod is shown a rubber horse in the pool. Tod asks
why, the woman responds, To amuse (West 39). Tod could not understand why someone would pay
money for a rubber horse for amusement. Since Tod saw the house, all the money, the servants, and all
the guests, he could imagine him feeling to good to be apart of the group he was painting. Tod also
painted Homer who started the mob scene at the theater. He was manipulated by Faye to be a person
for her to toy with. Faye would use Homer for his money, his house, and at times his affection. Tod
painted him with his big hands clawing the air in anguish. He did this because Homer could not
express his feeling when he would ask. Tod saw Homer as a person who needed a friend because he
was filled with problems. Tod knew Homer was one of those people who came to Los Angeles to die,
but Homer actually came to Los Angeles to get better. I believe he could have painted many other
people he met such as Miguel, Earl, and Abe. I think these people also were important

A Life Changing Day On My Life
I have been through a lot of events that have impacted my life dramatically. Something that happened
last August changed my outlook on a lot of things. August 10, 2016 was a life changing day. This day
started an event that made me appreciate life more, and taught me that even the smallest thing could
be a big difference in any outcome. August 10, 2016 was a life changing day. This day was when I
found out that my family needed to pack our cars with things such as; clothes, personal items, and
other accessories to move to a more safe area. Around nine O clock a.m. was when we got the news
that we needed to evacuate the area. We knew that this flood was gonna be nothing to joke about, so
we packed our things fairly quickly and made the decision to drive to a friends house. Later that day,
we showed up to their house with the idea that it was not going to flood the area. The next morning, I
woke up to my parents telling me that our house has just been flooded and had gotten around two feet
inside the house and I knew that we would not be back in our home for a very long time. Next,
everyone in the house was told that we needed to sandbag the house because the flood might reach the
inside and of course we would help, considering that they took us in. After all, their neighbors and
family members started grabbing bags and filling them with sand to stack in front of the house.
Throughout all of the hard work and sweat, we soon came to find out that it was all for nothing. Not

Summary Of Chira Banerjee Divakaruni s The Palace Of...
Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni s novel, The Palace of Illusions is the epitome of feminism. It retells the
story of Mahabharata from the view point of Draupadi, the daughter of King Drupad. The delicate
threads of her life have beautifully been interwoven to bring forth a grasping story. Chitra Banerjee
has herself written I would uncover the story that lay invisible between the lines of the men s exploits.
Better still I would have her one of her tell it herself, with all her joys and doubts, her struggles and
her triumphs, her heartbreaks, her achievements, the unique female way in which she sees her world
and her place in it. (XV). King Drupad, ruler of Panchaal, one of the most prosperous kings of the
continent Bharat was the father of Draupadi. The very birth of Panchali is marked with revenge and
redundant. An offspring of vengeance and an expected one she trails after her brother Dhristadyumna

she was copper skinned, fiery eyed and had long black hair. She was gifted with blue lotus fragrance
and hence called Yojangandha. Her own father had not expected her as he had long prayed to the Gods

What s Africana Womanism From Other Ideologies Or Schools...
What distinguishes Africana Womanism from other ideologies or schools of thought? As
aforementioned, there has been tension between the United States suffrage groups, many of which
later transformed into feminist groups, and Black women. Nevertheless, many Black women choose to
identify as a Black Feminist or African Feminist in an attempt to forge a pro women and pro Black
space.
Black Feminism sought to address the same intersectional issues (including misogynoir) facing Black
women as Africana Womanism with a different approach. The Black Feminist school of thought is
characterized by an intersectional analysis: gender, sexuality, race, and class. [BLACK FEM. IN THE
US] In other words, this erasure of gender among black men is matched by the erasure of race in white
feminism. [BLACK FEM. IN THE US] To combat this erasure and develop a sound analysis, Black
women rest at the center of intellectual analysis. This is a similar manner to African people s centered
location in Afrocentric Theory. Black Feminist scholars also place emphasis on analyzing social
structure and political economy in regards to theory development, creation of agency producing
works, and critique of existing frameworks in Sociology and Women s Studies. [BLACK FEM. IN

ideals, such as self definition. [BLACK FEM. IN THE US]

Monet Vs Gogh
Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh were two prominent, influential painters that contributed and
shaped their respective artistic periods: Impressionism and Post Impressionism.
Both of these styles share similar characteristics and have a focal point around color, but they speak to
the viewer in different ways. They are both focusing on life and nature, but van Gogh speaks to
egregious issues about life, whereas Monet is capturing the existing moment of nature. To analyze The
Windmill on the Onbekende Gracht and The Rocks, we need a clear understanding about their styles,
and after studying these styles, we can conclude that these two works both share qualities of each
other, but reveal two different truths. Even though they share the subject ... Show more content on

The brush strokes create a sense of motion in his work, and with the usage of his rocks, create a story
that he is trying to communicate to us. This story begins in the bottom left corner of the painting. Van
Gogh uses brush strokes to draw our attention to this point and then carries us to the following rocks
through his usage of a zig sag diagonal. He is taking us through life in this picture, communicating
that you will go through ups and downs in your life. This statement can be seen in the second
diagonal. We see a thick patch of grass symbolizing a tough time in life s path, and similarly again at
the bottom of the tree. Van Gogh is communicating that you will not always have a clear road to
success, but that if you follow the path, you will eventually become success or reach your set goal in
life. At least this is what I want to think, but Van Gogh was probably more cynical in his approach,
and is probably delivering the message that people will reach their longed, craved evil action right
before their death or last moment.
Van Gogh communicates this to us through his usage of the sky. Notice in the painting that there is
only a hint of blue. He is revealing either that there is nothing worthwhile once you have come to the
end of your path or that only a few people actually live a morally right life and do not commit their
craved sin. Unfortunately, no one will ever know the answer to what van Gogh

The Testament Of Isaiah And Isaiah
Throughout the Old Testament God carried out his plan to bring His people back to Him. Often the
people of Israel would fall away from their relationship with God by worshipping false Idols such as
Baal or by disobeying His commands in general. One of the main ways God got his message of
redemption to His people was via prophets, spiritually gifted individuals that God lifted up to
communicate His will to the people of Israel. The prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah often were used to call
Israel out on their wickedness, and to warn then of God s coming judgement that would teach them a
lesson. It is clear from what the prophets wrote, that God very much intended to wipe the sins of the
nation s away, one way or another. This is a message that still very much applies today, Isaiah and
Jeremiah were meant to steer God s people back to Him and their messages with Christians today are
supposed to do the same. Judah and Israel in their time were constantly full of sins and needing to be
cleansed. In the beginning of Isaiah, he opens by stating that they were a sinful nation, A people laden
with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the lord. (Isaiah
1:4, New King James Version). The sins of Judah and Israel were many and that is why God sent the
prophets with the message they gave. In attempt to warn the people that disobeying God s
commandments would lead to harsh punishment. It is apparent that God did respond to the sins
harshly. In

Then, where is the privacy?
A national ID card would as a practical matter collect a person s records from a number of databases
in computers, which have been intentionally kept separate over the years as a privacy measure into
one large file available to all. And such collection of data practically invites abuse from every level of
governmental offices. It will be easy for the criminal hackers to steal someone else s data, once this
system operates. Unauthorized sale of personal data will be normal in practice once these database are
linked.
If the card is used to check the information against a central database, then the security of this
database will become crucial. For a person, the database should be accessible nationwide in order to
support security checkpoints all over the country. Therefore it will have to be on some networking
system. The security necessary to prevent people from breaking into such a responsive networking
system would be almost impossible to achieve in real life. For this reason, the national ID card system
creates security risks. That would otherwise not exit.
The ID card would be used not just by the government and the security agents, but also by the
employers, schools, hospitals, banks, hotels, etc as their primary ID cards. Virtually,

Abstract: Friction stir welding (FSW) process is a new solid state joining technique that is widely
adopted in manufacturing and many fields for joining different metallic alloys which are difficult to
weld by using conventional type such as fusion welding for metals which has lower melting point. The
aluminium alloys are considered because they have successfully contributed in meeting the rising
demand for lightweight structures .The major parameters considered for Friction Stir Welding process
for dissimilar aluminium alloys are tool Rotational Speed, Traverse speed of tool, Axial load, Tool tilt
and plunge depth. This paper provides the overview of change in microstructural and mechanical
properties of dissimilar aluminium alloys based on considering various welding parameters.

Air And Air Pollution
Air and air pollution is a mixture of solid particles and gases in the air. Air and air pollution can cause
from car emission, chemical, dust, air planes, and pollen. What cause the air to be bad pollution is
factories machines and energy that everyone is using. Air can be fresh and bad air depend on the work
that we do. The solution that cause and effect the air to be bad is that the gases of the car, planes,
chemical gases, and factories makes the air to be bad because the person that is doing it might did
something wrong. Some air can different and smell different. It could be poison or cause
human to breathe hard. Air pollution can be bad when the air is not right and it changes. The gases of

Analysis Of The Hockey Sweater
Maurice Richard, a man who grew up during the Great Depression with a large family with hopes and
dreams of one day being an NHL player, was man that embodied French culture and the oppressed
middle class. He faced massive adversity and discrimination by opposing players, referees, fans and
the NHL president himself just for being French Canadian and proud of his heritage. He was seen as a
god like figure by residents of Quebec and was heavily worshipped by these people. He was the voice
for these French Canadians went they lost it to the English Canadians. He had compared to Jackie
Robinson as a leader of a minority group and represented them to be successful in sports in North
America. Jackie Robinson was a black baseball player who broke the color barrier in the 1950s and
burst onto the scene as an All Star and became one of the top players in the league who carried his
team to the top. But most people remember him for his resiliency as he faced adversity from white
players and executives alike in the league and inspired millions of young kids to one day be like him.
Richard can be compared to this as he likewise arose as a French Canadian in a massively English
Canadian league and quickly became one of the top stars and inspiring a generation of young hockey

whole for commercializing divorce on a level that allows parents to choose it as if it were the only

The Nazi Regime Was Defined By Its Fascism Policies
The Nazi regime was defined by its fascism policies in Germany that had on huge implications on the
country s socio political and economic settings. The National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei
(Nazi) evolved from the German Worker s Party. Adolf Hitler was the man behind the establishment of
the Nazi party into the German political system as he rose to power in the late 1920s. He was the
leader of the Nazi party. The party came to being from the Weimar Republic, which came about after

Germany as a country was hard hit by the effects of the war with the years to follow seeing the
country go through both political and economic instability. Hitler grew up in this era when Germany
was facing many sanctions imposed by the Allied Forces through the Versailles Treaty. After serving
in the First World War I, he resigned his military career to join the German Worker s Party where he
rose through the ranks to be the party leader, and he changed the party s name to the famously known
National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi). Hitler took this as the right platform to get
more power in Germany to oppose the influence of the Allied Forces in Germany. He underwent a lot
of power struggles as he tried to mobilize popular support for the Nazi party. It was until 1932 when
the party gunned a total of 37% of the votes in the election which was largest share of votes in the
election. This meant Hitler was a leader of unimaginable power within the Nazi party and Germany
and by 1933, he was the chancellor of Germany. After the death of President Hindenburg in 1934,
Hitler became Der Fuhrer and he assumed the presidential powers including those of the supreme
commander of the armed forces. This marked the onset fascism and destruction of democracy in
Germany. From the mysterious fire in the German Parliament which gave Hitler an excuse to assume

Biography of Lucas Cranach the Elder
Professed painter of the Reformation, Lucas Cranach the Elder created many pieces of artwork during
his career, but his work that sprouted from the end of the Renaissance and beginning of the
Reformation was truly inspiring (Johnson). Judith with the Head of Holofernes, an inspiring oil on
panel by Cranach, impacted society in multiple ways that would remain influential even after his
death. Cranach s work played a critical role in the beginning of the Reformation and pleased the royal
court in Germany during the mid 1500s, which allowed him to rise as an artist and support dangerous
organizations in his spare time. This enthralling artist s specific piece was the beginning of a religious
motif that would appear in his later works and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the corruption in the Catholic Church and the Saxon Court s support for such a violent and
misleading community, Cranach s choice to paint the biblical story of Judith with a spin that highlights
seduction, showing more skin in her appearance than other works and even highlighting it with
multiple necklaces and aristocrat clothing that may have been worn in the court, the painting almost
displays Cranach s form of political resistance (Zucker and Harris). The story behind this painting is a
Biblical tale about a strong heroine named Judith, who was known for her bravery and resistance
against the Assyrian troops that come to assume control over her people. In this story, Judith uses her
wit and seduction to ease her way into the Assyrian troops camp and continue with a genius plan to
execute the Assyrian General, Holofernes. She seduces him, and once he is drunk, beheads him in his
own tent, with his own soldiers all around him oblivious (Branch). Judith was able to defeat the enemy
and resist what could have been the end of many Israelites lives. Cranach s choice suggested a
political resistance that required a bravery similar to that of Judith s. Small details in the painting such
as the bodice of the dress and Judith s jewelry show Cranach s love for a decorative surface, as well as

Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden
The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936.
The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone
dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining
the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness.
The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an
ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs
of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the
instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened.

Death severs this connection, creating a shift in how life is perceived. The strength of this is in
contrast with the images of death, the funeral preparations, and how society thinks of mourning that
are in the previous stanzas. The last line of the third stanza and the fourth stanza speak to the perpetual
sense of loss that death has on the plane of living.
In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. Here he stresses that Nature
notice his grief, calling it to extinguish the stars and the moon and the sun and get rid of the ocean. He
desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will
not be adequate at best. There is no optimism at the end of the poem; the reader is left with the very
real and very hostile sense of the man s grief, since no end can be accomplished without the poet s

Breakthroughs In Biotechnology Research
Biotechnology to extend age in humans
Biotechnology is used everyday to change life, as we know it. In fact, people don t realize that early
humans used biotechnology 10,000 years ago. Early humans were producing beer, wine, bread, and
yogurt by means of fermentation. Biotechnology is any technique that uses organisms or their
products to make a new product, to improve the life of humans or to develop microorganisms for
specific scientific uses (Paul Cooley, 2014). As early as 1500 BC humans were storing plants with
certain traits such as disease resistance in order to selectively breed certain plants with certain traits to
better their lives (Jeffrey Kruck Langland, 1999). A huge breakthrough in biotechnology was the
creation of penicillin in 1942 (Paul Cooley 2014). This was a huge breakthrough and it save a lot of
lives from disease during World War II. According to Paul Cooley (2014) in 1980 biotechnology was
used to rid the world of smallpox. Much disease such as breast cancer has been discovered through
biotechnology such as breast cancer and Parkinson s disease (Paul Cooley, 2014). They found these
diseases to be gene related. In 1997 a sheep was cloned from a single adult cell through biotechnology
(Paul, Cooley, 2014). Biotechnology has been a very important part in many ways to human life, but
most people do not realize that Biotechnology may extend human life and create a better world of
organisms. Biotechnology affects agriculture, the energy used to power

Achilles The Real Hero In The Iliad
The Iliad, a series of epic poems originated from Homer and rewritten by Robert Lattimore, chronicles
three main characters: Achilles, Hector, and Agamemnon. All three of these courageous men share
common traits which variate with their roles in the war effort. Of the three, two are clearly heroes
whilst one can almost be considered a villain. Therefore, as seen through quotes from the Iliad the real
hero becomes quickly identified. Achilles has been considered the greatest hero of the Greeks in the
Iliad for numerous valid reasons. Similarly, Achilles not only stays humble, but extremely courageous.
Waiting patiently for Hector, Achilles says, No man so long as I am alive above Earth... and see
daylight shall lay the weight even if you mean Agamemnon. (1.88 90) In this statement, Achilles says
that no one should ever have power over him. So, must one be called of no account and a coward if I
must carry out every order you may happen to give me.... (6.293 303) Clearly, he fears no one and
does not understand the meaning of failure. Achilles constantly acts as man of fierce strength and
courage. Tested Achilles spitefulness nature, elicits at times, cruel ... Show more content on

Jacksonian Democracy Essay
Jacksonian Democracy
Jacksonian (Democracy, Society, etc.) is a term used to describe reform during the time of Andrew
Jackson s Presidency. Specifically Jacksonian Democracy refers to the general extension of
democracy that characterized U.S. politics from 1824 to 1828. Jacksonian Democracy and its support
came primarily from the lower classes as a rebellion of sorts apposing the aristocracy. Even though it
stressed equality, it was pro slavery and anti Indian (not unlike Andrew Jackson). Also there was
change in both the political parties and the social reforms. Jackson was seen as a westerner (even
though he was from Tennessee) and a president of the common man. This we can see when he married

The Democrats wanted to limit the role of government in the market and wanted to resolve the
tensions among the Northeast, West, and South. Also they wanted to do away with the national bank
(Jackson put a lot of money into city and state bands as a result) and sell land at low rates and leave
internal improvement basically to the states to deal with. The proposed government of the democrats
was one centered in local affairs (one of the most important was slavery). Jackson therefore wanted
weak central government within a permanent union. However soon came up the issue of Nullification
with South Carolinas attempt to nullify the tariff of 1828.
Social reform was underway as well with a number of institutions and social movements being
devoted to improving morals of individuals and society in general. Schools started to pop up around
the country. Public tax supported schools set up by Whigs in the north. The school systems were
centralized at the state level and made attendance mandatory. Temperance was also part of this reform,
and this was the most sustained movement in social history. The good old crusade against the use of
alcohol that began in 1820. The reason for this it was argued was that alcohol led to violence, personal
and social disintegration and was associated with being out of control. This effort was headed up by
the middle class (women mostly) that assumed poverty, crime, and every other thing wrong with
society was a result

Dyad
Humans are naturally social beings. We have instinctual need to reach out to other individuals.
Sometimes this is the case when dealing with issues or feelings. As with differentiation of self, Bowen
s triangle concept has an emotional component with anxiety at the core (H. Goldenberg L.
Goldenberg, 2013). Differentiation of self has an individual concept that is then applied to a couple or
a family system. Where the concept of triangles differs is number of individuals involve. According to
this concept, relationships only exist with two or more individuals. With two individuals,
communication and stability may exist. The problem exists when anxiety or stress is introduced into
the dyad. Bowen believed that couples or two individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bowen concluded that undifferentiated dyads will produce unstable and highly emotional families that
then become the nuclear family emotional systems. The system s goal is to reduce the tension and gain
stability. Bowen and his colleague, Michael Kerr, hypothesized that there were three patterns in which
nuclear families dealt with intense emotional systems. The first pattern is spousal dysfunction where
one individual disproportionately takes on the anxiety rather than addressing the family conflict (H.
Goldenberg L. Goldenberg, 2013). The second pattern involves externalizes their personal anxieties
onto the martial relationship. Control is a central aspect within the second pattern of martial conflict.
Each individual of the original dyad tries to control one another and focus on the other s issues as an
outlet of dealing with family tensions. Bowen and Kerr s final pattern was a child s psychological
impairment. During this pattern, family or dyad tensions are ignored as one or both individuals focus
more attention to the child. The projection of focus and anxiety on the child perpetuates the parental
and couple tensions. Additionally, this focus lowers the child s differentiating level, increases negative
thoughts or feelings toward the child, and creates impairment of health, socialization, and school
performance. Bowenian theorist added emotional distance as a fourth and final pattern. Emotional
distance allows individuals to pull away from each other in order to decrease the intensity of the tense.
Emotional distance is the most common type of pattern found in all types of nuclear

1 Citizenship is so much more than a piece of paper, it s a guide to live your life Good morning future

citizenship and cultural identity is the Castle directed by Rob Sitch. Castle follows the life of a

Why Should People Commit Crime And Labeling Theory From A...
Sociologists have done thousands of research studies on deviance; an action or behavior that is out of
the norm. However, the question that they are most intrigued with is; what causes a person to commit
a deviant act? There are two theories that are in debate, anomie strain theory, and labeling theory. In
this essay, I am going to compare and contrast the two theories and explain how tattooing has become
a stigma in today s society. I am going to discuss three similarity views; first they share ties with
social strain in deviance, by the way, society is structured. Second, they both deal with crime among
minority group as well as crime rates in the United States. Third, both anomie strain and labeling
theory focus on the deviant behavior regarding the individual social and cultural status and how
society response to these types of deviant behaviors. I am going to explain Robert K. Merton s theory
on why people commit crime and labeling theory from a sociological perspective, and how people
respond to the actions that people make. Even though the two theories are similar they play different
roles in society in dealing with deviance behavior. Anomie strain theory can be described as the failure
to achieve certain goals, which can lead an individual to commit deviant acts. Emilie Durkheim, a

forsaking the teachings of their past, then the sect leader has created a new denomination and thus a
society where the new norms are ideal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Buddhism Compare And Contrast Essay
Another example of a triumph of Buddhism is from the pre Tibetan view that the land of Tibet was
considered to be a gigantic demoness where offerings were made to ensure she was mollified for the
good of the people. However, Buddhist practitioners wanted no part of demonic spirits and so
therefore defeated this demoness by building temples on her four limbs and over her heart to render
her incapable of hindering the spread of Buddhism in Tibet.
The Bön religion although seen to exist on an identical basis with Buddhism however there are some
differences between the two religions. Bön ritual movement is counter clockwise, with different
deities and names, mythological origins, coloring, objects or adornments on their personage and the

The similarities of Bön and Buddhism practitioners appear identical, such as the accumulation of merit
through good deeds in the same way; that is by living a meaningful and good life, turning hand
wheels, chanting sacred prayers, circumambulating stupas, monastery or mountains, hanging prayer
flags, even meditational and metaphysical traditions appear similar. All these actions are with the
ultimate aim of being reborn into the human realm or a higher paradisiacal world of Tibetan
cosmology.
There is a complicated relationship of mutual influence that exits between Bön and Buddhism, that
traces back through the centuries of shared history and turmoil, while also progressing into the modern
era in synchronicity.
In conclusion, the state of modern day Tibetan Buddhism has only been strengthened by the
incorporation of practices from other cultures and countries, this has made a thriving and growing
religion with approximate 6% of the worlds population, 350 million people practicing Buddhism
today. Although, the practice is more widely spread in South Asia and South East Asia, Buddhism is
found in many western countries also. It has been spread by a significant number of immigrant
communities or ease of access to travel by westerners to these countries and as a way of keeping alive

The Movie Of The Conjuring
In the movie of The Conjuring, in certain instances it foreshadows a witch which is considered as a
dark presence. This movie poster is effective in introducing or raising awareness of the way is being
presented by telling the readers that this film is based on a true story and by showing readers that it
will have a mysterious person in search. In the movie, there is a new family of seven, five daughters
and their pet dog that moves into an unfrequented farmhouse which took place in the 70s. Strange
things have been happening to the house as well with the family, they call investigators to look at the
house to find out why weird things have been happening. The reason for the dark presence,
appearance in the house is because someone had hung themselves at the house so unfortunately the
house is haunted without the new family members being aware of it. The poster for the movie The
Conjuring foreshadows a mysterious dark presence not seen by everyone through the specific
placement of the shadow, the color scheme, composition and spatial order. To begin, the writer of The
Conjuring implies that this film is based on a true story. It being based on something truth that actually
happens in real life the audience will be more aware and will be terrified of watching the movie. As
demonstrated on the movie poster under the title it says Based on the true case files of the warrens all

Rhetorical Hyperbole
1. Yes. In order to prove that a statement was protected by an absolute privilege the defendant must
prove that the statement was a matter of public concern, made during the course of a legislature or
judicial proceeding, and that the statement was relevant, material, and important to the public concern
at hand. City council meetings fall under the category of these protected proceedings. Statements on
issues at hand made by public officials during these protected occasions are protected. Mr. Smith is a
city council member, who made statements about an issue of public concern at a city council meeting.
Those statements will be protected by absolute privilege. It is irrelevant whether or not the statements
are true or made with malice. The statements that Mr. Smith made after the meeting will also be
protected because they were the same statements that had been broadcasted on local television in the
recording of the meeting. Mr. Smith was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Compare and Contrast the Views of Native Americans and...
During the 16th and 17th centuries, when the Europeans started to come over to the new world, they
discovered a society of Indians that was strikingly different to their own. To understand how different,
one must first compare and contrast some of the very important differences between them, such as
how the Europeans considered the Indians to be extremely primitive and basic, while, considering
themselves civilized. The Europeans considered that they were model societies, and they thought that
the Indians society and culture should be changed to be very similar to their own. The Europeans and
the Indians had very contrasting ideas of personal wealth and ownership. The Europeans believed that
only the rich should own land, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was a very sharp contrast to the Europeans, whom had for centuries, been the top of their social
hierarchy. In Europe, the women had a very relatively primitive, limited role in society. They were not
allowed to attend or partake in political affairs, with very few exceptions. Now, on the other hand, in
Indian society there was a council of chiefs, whom was all male, but they were appointed by an elder
women. Also, during their deliberation over issues, the males made the final decision, but would be
expelled from the council, if they didn t conclude to the same decision that the elder woman came to.
The women s main job in Indian society, was being in charge of cultivation of, harvest of, and
distribution of food. When the men left to go hunting, women were left to run society. The Europeans
simply believed that the males were far superior to the family, which is why women could not have
jobs, and were left to only clean, cook, and various other household chores. Coming from an
economic standpoint, the Europeans and Indians were such total opposites, it often led to
misunderstanding. Indians had very large trading routes well before the time of European
colonization. Their experience in trade only made it easier to exchange goods with the Europeans. For
Indians, trading was a way to acquire goods they wanted, but also a way to share the wealth of their
land with other tribes that didn t have the same items to trade as they did. To the

The Walking Dead Video Game
The game by Telltale known as, The Walking Dead , places the player in morally ambiguous situations
where the player thinks their actions are responsible (inter(re)activity) and feel that exact
responsibility (empathy). An article by Smethurst, Toby, and Stef Craps, Playing with Trauma:
Inter(re)activity, Empathy and Complicity in The Walking Dead Video Game. , suggests this morel
conundrum on how games [have the] ability to involve the player in the game world through
inter(re)activity (Smethurst and Craps). There lyes a misconception in the game The Walking Dead
where the player is introduced to believe the players decisions effect a different outcome to how the
storyline will turn out.
We must first look at the article by Smethurst and Craps to show how the game pulls the player in
emotionally. The article discuses complicity, where inter(re)activity and empathy come hand in hand
in engaging the player. The player, more often than none, feel[s] as though they are complicit in the
perpetration of traumatic events (Smethurst and Craps). The deaths, however, are already planned out
and each is [a result] of the player s malign intentions or their lack of skill; if [they] succeed, it is
because the player has navigated Lee through the game s levels adroitly (Smethurst and Craps). The
beginning scene of season 1 episode 1, reluctantly, shows there is no way to avoid the whole incident
that gets Lee all wrapped up in everything in the first place. Without the

Pip s Internal Pacifist Struggles Essay
Dickens introduced Pip as a child, an element essential to the understanding of Pip s internal
moralistic struggles. The establishment of young Pip makes the audience view Pip as an innocent and
honest person. Children are often deemed to be more honest and simple than adults. When Pip first
encounters the convict, the appearance of him scares Pip out of his mind. The man threatens Pip to
bring him a few items otherwise he will go after his family. He also tells Pip to not tell a soul about
him or he will be hurt as well. What Pip fails to realize is that the convict is cold, as he has been
soaked in water (10), and hungry, which was made clear when he ate the bread ravenously (11). Not
only that, the convict can barely walk correctly since he has a limp. Putting all of it together, the
convict is in no shape to be chasing after Pip and his family to harm them. Because Pip is an innocent
child, he cannot put those clues together and obeys the convict out of fear anyway. Pip has had a
strong sense of morals since a young age. After the incident with the man in the marshes, the guilt of
the idea of lying to Joe, his step brother who has always treated him with affection, bites his
conscience. Pip refers stealing from Joe, and Mrs. Joe, his sister, a guilty knowledge (19). It shows
that Pip does not like stealing from them, no matter how badly Mrs. Joe treats him and his moralistic
standards. He got the job done and brought the requested items to the man. Once he got

Lizzie Borden Investigation
The research paper I am conducting is on Lizzie Borden who was accused of murdering her father and
stepmother in 1892 with a hatchet. Due to failed investigation and lack of technology at the time,
Lizzie was released and acquitted of all charges. In this paper I will point out what the police did not
do properly during the investigation, as well as what I would have done differently. Lizzie Borden s
story had red flags that police and investigation should have caught on to. The first being, that when
police interviewed Lizzie about what had happened that day she gave inconsistent stories. Second
being, that she said I heard a groan or a scraping noise before entering the house . Later she changed
to say she heard nothing and entered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Andrew Borden estate was worth $300,000 dollars, which as of 2016 would be $7,901,111. This was a
lot of money during the late 1800 s. Lizzie was reported to have arguments with her father regarding a
property settlement over the divorce between Andrew and Mrs. Borden. If the investigation was in my
hands, I would have thoroughly questioned Lizzie, and requested a full physiological evaluation. I
would have also tried to submit the hatchet into evidence, proving that the split in the skull could
match that of a hatchet. The repetitive Hatchet blows to the back of Abby Borden s head shows it was
killing out of rage. The only person to have shown signs of animosity towards these individuals was
Lizzie Borden. The dispute over property of a wealthy man as Andrew Borden, the dislike people had
for him, the divorce Lizzie went through, and her father killing her pet birds leads me to believe there
was a motive. The double murder of Andrew and Abby Borden still remains unsolved. The police
could have done a better job investigating and the evidence showing Lizzie being linked should have
been enough to charge her but this is a period of time when forensics was at its infancy and if there
was no weapon there was no crime. The money involved could have brought rise to Lizzie to plot the
death for inheritance. We will never

  • 2. The Space Of Space Exploration Essay Introduction One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe; decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1, the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering. The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed NASA spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between their highly diverse team members. NASA continues to recruit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Did Pope John Paul II Impact The World Pope John Paul II created religious ideas, used (Habit of mind) to innovate (ways to overcome challenge write challenge), and illuminated the world by spreading the Good News of the Bible in an exciting, different way. Pope John Paul II created amazing things, but not in a way you would expect. He created ideas. Instead of doing things the way everyone else did, he made people think. At an early age, John Paul was exposed to wonderful outgoing people that inspired him, like Jan Tryanowski. (http://www.catholic.org) They shaped his exciting yet inspiring personality. Since he was from Poland, he cared about ideas that were advertised there. Pope John Paul was one of the reasons communism was put to a stop in Poland. • 4. Concept Of Tuition Fees The Nobody State University when increasing the tuition fee should do this while ensuring that the university maintains healthy enrolment of students. The increase in tuition fee will not necessarily lead to increase in revenue. Theoretically, we can use the price elasticity concept. The concept explains the relationship between the responsiveness of demand towards changes in price (Cini 2015). Higher tuition fees will mean that newer students will prefer universities that are much cheaper. NSU goal to raise more revenue will not be achieved. The already existing students, however, will have no choice but to pay the new tuition fees. Paying in installments will lessen the effect the student will feel when the fees are increased. The increase in revenue will make the students more resistant to any other change that the university might want to add. The amount of revenue will remain the same if the cost of collecting that revenue will increase. Admissions of students cost a lot of money. The difference will just be the same, and the university will not have done any justice to itself or the students. Fewer students to be enrolled will mean that the staff is underworked. The economy is another condition that will decide whether revenue will increase once the fee is increased. Improved economy means that students can afford the state university fees. Regardless of the increased fee, more students will want to enroll (Cini 2015). What the university should do to expand revenue is through marketing. The university should have a good marketing plan to attract more students to the school. Nobody State University can for example come up with a program that students apply for free school meals for those who academically perform better. • 5. Religious Prayer Within Public Schools Religious prayer within public schools has been a heated debate for many years and ultimately has caught national attention. Overtime many court cases have challenge this issue. The Constitution itself is on the fence of religious prayer because of the First Amendment s freedom of speech clause which prohibits the government s involvement with the freedom of exercise of religion. The policy of religious prayer within Mississippi public schools is a state policy level. In the year of 2013, Governor Phil Bryant of Mississippi signed a bill/law that protects voluntary prayers from students on public school property and other public property. This policy also protects student prayers at public school related events such as praying over public school intercoms, at assemblies, and sporting events. In addition, the policy allows students to openly discuss their faith with classrooms and permits students to establish organizations such as a bible club. To clarify, the term protection does not imply that the law is promoting any religion or religious belief. However, it is against the law for administration from public schools to lead a public school prayer. Social Work Values and Ethics There are several social work values and ethics that are apparent in this policy comes from the NASW code of ethics. Recklessly careless means the representee had foreseen it may be false but did not care. There is an element of dishonesty here. In fraudulent cases the burden of proof is on the claimant, this means the claimant must prove the defendants guilt. These two scenes showed Faye like she was in the painting; she had to be better than everyone and proud to be herself, a selfish woman getting what she wanted. Tod also painted Claude with his turned as he ran to thumb his nose at his pursuers (West 201). Tod saw Claude this way because of the first impression of Claude and his friends. Claude had a huge house that was an exact reproduction of a mansion in Mississippi. After meeting some people Tod is shown a rubber horse in the pool. Tod asks why, the woman responds, To amuse (West 39). Tod could not understand why someone would pay money for a rubber horse for amusement. Since Tod saw the house, all the money, the servants, and all the guests, he could imagine him feeling to good to be apart of the group he was painting. Tod also painted Homer who started the mob scene at the theater. He was manipulated by Faye to be a person for her to toy with. Faye would use Homer for his money, his house, and at times his affection. Tod painted him with his big hands clawing the air in anguish. He did this because Homer could not express his feeling when he would ask. Tod saw Homer as a person who needed a friend because he was filled with problems. August 10, 2016 was a life changing day. This day started an event that made me appreciate life more, and taught me that even the smallest thing could be a big difference in any outcome. August 10, 2016 was a life changing day. This day was when I found out that my family needed to pack our cars with things such as; clothes, personal items, and other accessories to move to a more safe area. Around nine O clock a.m. was when we got the news that we needed to evacuate the area. We knew that this flood was gonna be nothing to joke about, so we packed our things fairly quickly and made the decision to drive to a friends house. Later that day, we showed up to their house with the idea that it was not going to flood the area. The next morning, I woke up to my parents telling me that our house has just been flooded and had gotten around two feet inside the house and I knew that we would not be back in our home for a very long time. Next, everyone in the house was told that we needed to sandbag the house because the flood might reach the inside and of course we would help, considering that they took us in. • 11. What s Africana Womanism From Other Ideologies Or Schools... What distinguishes Africana Womanism from other ideologies or schools of thought? As aforementioned, there has been tension between the United States suffrage groups, many of which later transformed into feminist groups, and Black women. Nevertheless, many Black women choose to identify as a Black Feminist or African Feminist in an attempt to forge a pro women and pro Black space. Black Feminism sought to address the same intersectional issues (including misogynoir) facing Black women as Africana Womanism with a different approach. The Black Feminist school of thought is characterized by an intersectional analysis: gender, sexuality, race, and class. [BLACK FEM. IN THE US] In other words, this erasure of gender among black men is matched by the erasure of race in white feminism. [BLACK FEM. IN THE US] To combat this erasure and develop a sound analysis, Black women rest at the center of intellectual analysis. This is a similar manner to African people s centered location in Afrocentric Theory. Black Feminist scholars also place emphasis on analyzing social structure and political economy in regards to theory development, creation of agency producing works, and critique of existing frameworks in Sociology and Women s Studies. Both of these styles share similar characteristics and have a focal point around color, but they speak to the viewer in different ways. They are both focusing on life and nature, but van Gogh speaks to egregious issues about life, whereas Monet is capturing the existing moment of nature. The brush strokes create a sense of motion in his work, and with the usage of his rocks, create a story that he is trying to communicate to us. He is taking us through life in this picture, communicating that you will go through ups and downs in your life. This statement can be seen in the second diagonal. We see a thick patch of grass symbolizing a tough time in life s path, and similarly again at the bottom of the tree. Van Gogh is communicating that you will not always have a clear road to success, but that if you follow the path, you will eventually become success or reach your set goal in life. At least this is what I want to think, but Van Gogh was probably more cynical in his approach, and is probably delivering the message that people will reach their longed, craved evil action right before their death or last moment. Van Gogh communicates this to us through his usage of the sky. Notice in the painting that there is only a hint of blue. He is revealing either that there is nothing worthwhile once you have come to the end of your path or that only a few people actually live a morally right life and do not commit their craved sin. • 15. The Testament Of Isaiah And Isaiah Throughout the Old Testament God carried out his plan to bring His people back to Him. Often the people of Israel would fall away from their relationship with God by worshipping false Idols such as Baal or by disobeying His commands in general. One of the main ways God got his message of redemption to His people was via prophets, spiritually gifted individuals that God lifted up to communicate His will to the people of Israel. The prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah often were used to call Israel out on their wickedness, and to warn then of God s coming judgement that would teach them a lesson. It is clear from what the prophets wrote, that God very much intended to wipe the sins of the nation s away, one way or another. This is a message that still very much applies today, Isaiah and Jeremiah were meant to steer God s people back to Him and their messages with Christians today are supposed to do the same. Judah and Israel in their time were constantly full of sins and needing to be cleansed. In the beginning of Isaiah, he opens by stating that they were a sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the lord. (Isaiah 1:4, New King James Version). The sins of Judah and Israel were many and that is why God sent the prophets with the message they gave. For a person, the database should be accessible nationwide in order to support security checkpoints all over the country. Therefore it will have to be on some networking system. The security necessary to prevent people from breaking into such a responsive networking system would be almost impossible to achieve in real life. For this reason, the national ID card system creates security risks. That would otherwise not exit. • 27. Dealing In The Poem By W. H. Auden The Poem was written by W.H Auden and was written in 1936. The title in itself has many connotations of sadness. The word Funeral is associated with someone dying. The word blues on the other hand is a type of Jazz that often conveys sadness. By combining the two, we can see that the author has cleverly manipulated the title into conveying sadness. The poem opens energetically, with an intensely emphasized verb Stop, a start that also suggests an ending. Certainly, much of the rest of the poem is similarly constructed on heavily accentuated verbs of command. The attitude of the poem is highly imperative. The poet gives out orders, but the instructions he issues suggest that he cannot believe that the death of the certain person has happened. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the fourth stanza the poet s agony rings out even more passionately. He desires the world to reflect the emptiness within him left by death. Human monuments to the dead will not be adequate at best. As with differentiation of self, Bowen s triangle concept has an emotional component with anxiety at the core (H. Goldenberg L. Goldenberg, 2013). Differentiation of self has an individual concept that is then applied to a couple or a family system. Where the concept of triangles differs is number of individuals involve. Bowen concluded that undifferentiated dyads will produce unstable and highly emotional families that then become the nuclear family emotional systems. The system s goal is to reduce the tension and gain stability. Bowen and his colleague, Michael Kerr, hypothesized that there were three patterns in which nuclear families dealt with intense emotional systems. The first pattern is spousal dysfunction where one individual disproportionately takes on the anxiety rather than addressing the family conflict (H. Goldenberg L. Goldenberg, 2013). The second pattern involves externalizes their personal anxieties onto the martial relationship. Control is a central aspect within the second pattern of martial conflict. Each individual of the original dyad tries to control one another and focus on the other s issues as an outlet of dealing with family tensions. Bowen and Kerr s final pattern was a child s psychological impairment. During this pattern, family or dyad tensions are ignored as one or both individuals focus more attention to the child. The projection of focus and anxiety on the child perpetuates the parental and couple tensions. Additionally, this focus lowers the child s differentiating level, increases negative thoughts or feelings toward the child, and creates impairment of health, socialization, and school performance. • 39. The Characteristics Of Community And Personal Identity In... 1 Citizenship is so much more than a piece of paper, it s a guide to live your life Good morning future citizens of Australia, today I ll be informing you on what it is like to be an Australian citizen and the impact that living in Australia will have on your life. The characteristics of community and personal identity are portrayed throughout the novel RAW by Scott Monk. Monk explores these ideas through the development of the main character Brett Dalton. 2 Another text that illustrates similar ideas of citizenship and cultural identity is the Castle directed by Rob Sitch. Castle follows the life of a working class family in Melbourne, who have been told they must vacate their house to allow for infrastructural expansion. These texts demonstrate the importance of community and personal identity within the lives of Australians, that is experienced within citizenship. 3 Citizenship is the legal status of an individual living within a particular country. Having citizenship gives people rights and responsibilities as well as a sense of belonging to a community. Citizenship can influence the lives of people as it gives people a sense of identity and how to live their life. 4 Brett is sent to the farm , an institution for troubled boys, after attempting to steal alcohol from a liquor store. After being at the farm for a short period of time, Brett escapes and attempts to find a new place to live. His intentions are identified in: He was free and happy and wanted to ... The meaning of juvenile delinquency according to criminologists refers to youngster of age boundaries between 12 to 20 years who have engaged themselves in any offence (World Youth Report, 2003). As per World Youth Report (2003); sociologists consider any breach in any licit or civic norms, ranging from insignificant felony to consequential public wrongs engaged by young people, as Juvenile delinquency. • 41. Why Should People Commit Crime And Labeling Theory From A... Sociologists have done thousands of research studies on deviance; an action or behavior that is out of the norm. However, the question that they are most intrigued with is; what causes a person to commit a deviant act? There are two theories that are in debate, anomie strain theory, and labeling theory. In this essay, I am going to compare and contrast the two theories and explain how tattooing has become a stigma in today s society. I am going to discuss three similarity views; first they share ties with social strain in deviance, by the way, society is structured. Second, they both deal with crime among minority group as well as crime rates in the United States. Third, both anomie strain and labeling theory focus on the deviant behavior regarding the individual social and cultural status and how society response to these types of deviant behaviors. I am going to explain Robert K. Merton s theory on why people commit crime and labeling theory from a sociological perspective, and how people respond to the actions that people make. Even though the two theories are similar they play different roles in society in dealing with deviance behavior. Anomie strain theory can be described as the failure to achieve certain goals, which can lead an individual to commit deviant acts. Emilie Durkheim, a sociologist defines anomie as lack of normal ethical or social standards which leads relationships with people to become frayed. Sociologist Merton applied Emilie Durkheim theory in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A sect is used as a contradistinction to the type denomi nation which itself is distinguished from the type church (Hampshire and Beckford, pg. 232) In regard to the FLDS sect of Latter Day Saints, the profit or head of the sect creates an environment that attempts to utilize familiar ideology as a foundation, yet perverts or distorts portions of the original ideology to fit its purpose. The sect then creates its own hierarchy of power and rules and utilizes the new norms as the fundamental values of their society. While I acknowledge the right to practice religion freely, one must also acknowledge the systematic isolation and secrecy of such an organization and the limit that places on an individual s access to or willingness to seek help from those to which they are scared or intimidated and lack any understanding of the world outside which they ... • 43. Buddhism Compare And Contrast Essay Another example of a triumph of Buddhism is from the pre Tibetan view that the land of Tibet was considered to be a gigantic demoness where offerings were made to ensure she was mollified for the good of the people. However, Buddhist practitioners wanted no part of demonic spirits and so therefore defeated this demoness by building temples on her four limbs and over her heart to render her incapable of hindering the spread of Buddhism in Tibet. The Bön religion although seen to exist on an identical basis with Buddhism however there are some differences between the two religions. All these actions are with the ultimate aim of being reborn into the human realm or a higher paradisiacal world of Tibetan cosmology. There is a complicated relationship of mutual influence that exits between Bön and Buddhism, that traces back through the centuries of shared history and turmoil, while also progressing into the modern era in synchronicity. In conclusion, the state of modern day Tibetan Buddhism has only been strengthened by the incorporation of practices from other cultures and countries, this has made a thriving and growing religion with approximate 6% of the worlds population, 350 million people practicing Buddhism today. This was a very sharp contrast to the Europeans, whom had for centuries, been the top of their social hierarchy. In Europe, the women had a very relatively primitive, limited role in society. They were not allowed to attend or partake in political affairs, with very few exceptions. Now, on the other hand, in Indian society there was a council of chiefs, whom was all male, but they were appointed by an elder women. Also, during their deliberation over issues, the males made the final decision, but would be expelled from the council, if they didn t conclude to the same decision that the elder woman came to. The women s main job in Indian society, was being in charge of cultivation of, harvest of, and distribution of food. When the men left to go hunting, women were left to run society. The Europeans simply believed that the males were far superior to the family, which is why women could not have jobs, and were left to only clean, cook, and various other household chores. Coming from an economic standpoint, the Europeans and Indians were such total opposites, it often led to misunderstanding. Indians had very large trading routes well before the time of European colonization. Their experience in trade only made it easier to exchange goods with the Europeans. For Indians, trading was a way to acquire goods they wanted, but also a way to share the wealth of their land with other tribes that didn t have the same items to trade as they did. To the ... The establishment of young Pip makes the audience view Pip as an innocent and honest person. Children are often deemed to be more honest and simple than adults. When Pip first encounters the convict, the appearance of him scares Pip out of his mind. The man threatens Pip to bring him a few items otherwise he will go after his family. He also tells Pip to not tell a soul about him or he will be hurt as well. What Pip fails to realize is that the convict is cold, as he has been soaked in water (10), and hungry, which was made clear when he ate the bread ravenously (11). Not only that, the convict can barely walk correctly since he has a limp. Putting all of it together, the convict is in no shape to be chasing after Pip and his family to harm them. Because Pip is an innocent child, he cannot put those clues together and obeys the convict out of fear anyway. Pip has had a strong sense of morals since a young age. Lizzie Borden s story had red flags that police and investigation should have caught on to. Lizzie was reported to have arguments with her father regarding a property settlement over the divorce between Andrew and Mrs. Borden. If the investigation was in my hands, I would have thoroughly questioned Lizzie, and requested a full physiological evaluation. I would have also tried to submit the hatchet into evidence, proving that the split in the skull could match that of a hatchet. The repetitive Hatchet blows to the back of Abby Borden s head shows it was killing out of rage. The only person to have shown signs of animosity towards these individuals was Lizzie Borden. The dispute over property of a wealthy man as Andrew Borden, the dislike people had for him, the divorce Lizzie went through, and her father killing her pet birds leads me to believe there was a motive. The double murder of Andrew and Abby Borden still remains unsolved. The police could have done a better job investigating and the evidence showing Lizzie being linked should have been enough to charge her but this is a period of time when forensics was at its infancy and if there was no weapon there was no crime.
