Are Your Thoughts Your Own Analysis
Are Your Thoughts Your Own? In today s technology based society, there arises a question. How
much do the everyday things that we do affect us. If we were to take an inventory of how much
media we let ourselves be influenced by every day, we would be shocked. When you read a book,
watch television, or look at a magazine, you are opening your mindto the opinions represented.
However, it is not the obvious messages that are the most dangerous. The scariest opinions are the
ones that are hidden in subtle messages that maybe only the subconscious picks up on. There are
many ways that a person can be influenced to change their ideas, thoughts, and even personal
beliefs. In the article Media s Use of Propaganda to Persuade People s Attitude, Beliefs... Show

drives past, music everyone listens to, and even the ads on the radio have their own influence.
Once someone realizes just how much media they are exposed to and have learned how to
recognize it, it will be easier to keep from being persuaded by the subtle messages. It will be easier
to find out what subtle messages behind the obvious message. Sometimes the main, original
message of something is harmless. However, when looked into a little more critically, the subtle
messages can be full of wrong things that would never be accepted unless they were only presented

Summary Of Pollastek E. Al s Study
Summary: The central focus of Pollastek et al s (2012) study was to determine why elderly
drivers are more likely to be involved in vehicular accidents at intersections than younger
experienced drivers. As a means of data collection Pollastek et al (2012) tested the scanning
ability of elderly drivers at intersections through a series of different scenarios. Each scenario took
place in a simulated environment, testing the scanning ability of elderly drivers where they were
instructed to go through 1) a four way intersection, 2) turn right at a T intersection and 3) proceed
through an intersection. Pollastek et al (2012) found that elderly drivers fail to properly scan for
potential hazards while proceeding through intersections. Pollastek et al (2012) also found that by
providing video feedback the participants in the training group performed similarly to younger
experienced drivers.
Reactions:
The strengths of Pollastek et al s (2012) study lie in the methods used for data collection. By
utilizing a driving simulator to imitate potentially hazardous driving conditions, Pollastek et al
(2012) ensured that the experiment was safely conducted. The driving simulator also allowed

POTENTIAL COLLABORATORS
Potential collaborators in our campaign include on campus health clinics, El Paso public health
clinics, the Texas DSHS, hospitals and medical treatment facilities, and school and local
government policy makers. The various health clinic and medical personnel will be a vital part of
this campaign as they will be the professionals responsible for the administration, testing, reporting
and counseling services necessary to accomplish our mission. Education and local government
policy makers will also be necessary components to ensuring full execution and funding of our
campaign.
El Paso Community College (EPCC) has the largest student body of all the higher education
institutes in El Paso with almost 30k students enrolled annually. EPCC has its own health clinic, Rio
Grande Border Health Clinic, which offers HIV testing upon request. To accommodate a significant
increase in HIV testing during peak times , intricate planning with clinic staff such as human
resources, laboratory staff, nursing and medical staff, as well as purchasing, finance and
reimbursement directors, would be essential. All of these personnel would be highly involved with
the successful implementation of universal HIV testing upon enrollment. Collaboration on staffing
with this institution would be crucial to ensuring temporary provisions are put in place during peak
times of testing such as enrollment and registration periods.

Definition Of The American Dream Essay
What is an American ? To me, an American means freedom. Freedom to choose and practice a
religion of your choice without persecution. Freedom of speech, press, and expression. An
american is not only someone who is free but is also strong. Americans have the freedom that
most other countries do not have. There are still some countries, that classes in power, still uses
everything from force of religion, to gender inequality, to oppress their people, and robb them from
their right and liberation. These countries, for example, do not allow their citizens the right to
vote,or whip. lastly they rob them from their right and liberation. I think America offers great
opportunities (Jean, What is the american dream?) This quote helps show that america s
opportunities are more advanced than other countries. freedom to pursue your dreams (Chris, what
is the American dream?) This is another quote that helps show that America is a land of freedom.

What Is The Implementation Of PPP In The Compensation System
3.1.1 Implementation Mechanisms
Implementation of PPP in the liability and compensation regime is seen through adequate reference
to mechanisms such as compulsory insurance and compensation funds whereby a ship owner is
required to constitute a fund with the Court for the total limit of his liability to avail the benefit of
limitation , and maintain compulsory insurance certified by the appropriate State authority for any
ship carrying more than 2,000 tons of oil .
3.1.2 Loss of Right to Limit Liability
There is very narrow scope for a ship owner to be exonerated from strict liability. It requires proof
that damage resulted from war or was wholly caused by an intentional act or omission of a third
party or by negligence of an authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Small Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Fund (STOPIA) was established to raise maximum
amount of compensation payable for small ships and the Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification
Agreement (TOPIA) was established to indemnify the supplementary fund 50% of the
compensation amount it pays in event of an oil pollution accident.
Considering the costs of some of the biggest oil spills in history, the SF holds adequate funds to
deal with oil spills of high magnitudes; till date no incident has required compensation from the SF
. The liability and compensation provisions of the CLC and FC satisfy the main components the
PPP by allowing the victims impartial access to remedies and allocating costs of pollution damage,
emergency response and clean up to the polluters .
The abovementioned factors show that the Conventions have come a far way in achieving a
perfect balance in burden sharing among the shipping and oil industries, adapting the polluter pays
theory to the extent feasible. Disturbing this balance for the few incidents where admissible claims
exceeded the limits under the 1992 CLC and FC would mean disturbing a widely accepted, well
tested and successful system operating on an international level .
An interesting view is raised by Chao Wu in his paper on threats to the International Convention
System; he questions the fairness in expecting the transporter and cargo owners to bear all the costs

Introduction To Progress From Prior Month s Report Essay
Summary of Progress from Prior Month s Report
On April 1, 2016, 81 assets in the MABS trust were added to the oversight population. The
population of active assets included in the oversight project as of April 30, 2016 was 88. As of
October 31, 2016, there were 59 active assets included in the project.
Days in REO for active assets increased to 231 days in October 2016 compared to 214 days in
September 2016
When removing the 1 Rhode Island asset ( original population addressed in more detail below),
Days in REO for active assets declined to 198 days
As of October 31, 2016, 24 assets in the REO oversight population had more than 200 Days in
REO. 5 of these are from the original population and 19 are from the MABS population
Compared to the original population, the MABS assets are more geographically disbursed and were
not as heavily concentrated in states with an extended redemption timeline (e.g., Nevada, Michigan
and Minnesota) or located in states with extended timelines for confirmation/ratification or states
with extended timelines for the foreclosure deed recordation (e.g., New York, Illinois, Maryland).
However, since MABS moved to the project, RMS has noticed an increase in concentrations in
these higher timeline states. In addition, MABS has a high percentage of loans that have been in
REO for less than 100 days, with 14 of 41 remaining MABS assets (34%) having less than 100 days
in inventory.

The Field Of Psychology Ranks
First let me start off by congratulating you on your terrific work. Your commitment to the field
of psychology ranks amongst the best and your work has stood the test of time. I know you are
unaware of the impact you will have in this field, but let me tell you that your work is still
highly regarded. Your work has been used by many professionals and educators to help
individuals throughout the years. Professionals have used your gestalt principles to expand their
industries by creating their own logos. As the years have and continue to pass every individual
have seen or used your gestalt principles even when they are not aware of it. As you left your
country and came to the United States, you left behind a legacy but continued to create one in a
different world. You faced a new chapter in your life when you came to the United States but it
was a time where you played a great role in emerging psychology. Because of the gestalt migration
was a time where the United States gained great talent. That s where everything started and many
psychologist and professionals started to know more about your work and started to engage and
research more on it. Gestalt theory has been a successful theory for many years and continues its
way to improvement. Your Gestalt theory, any type of illusion not just movement, has been very
successful in a way that individuals see things a certain way rather than a whole. Your five

I believe that bonding with your infant is very important during the early stages. However, some
mothers find it difficult to bond due to medical issues. In some cases, an underlying medical
problem can be a factor. Some women experience a drop in thyroid hormones about four to eight
months after giving birth. Low thyroid levels can cause you to feel depressed, easily irritated, and
have trouble sleeping or concentrating not exactly leaving you in the mood to smile and coo with
your baby. This could be postpartum depression or just clinical depression however this could

The Changing Nature of Crime and Law Enforcement
Law enforcement agencies nationwide must constantly adapt to the changing nature of crime and
the ways criminals must be prosecuted. New dangers like terrorism, as well as old ones, such as
public corruption, threaten the public and force police agencies to acclimate themselves to this new
environment. President Clinton explained the need for the development of the federal and local
law enforcement agencies.
We have begun to find a way to reduce crime, forming community partnerships with local police
forces to catch criminals and prevent crime. This strategy, called community policing, is clearly
working. But we still have a long way to go before our streets are safe and our people are free from

White Collar crime entails illegal actions committed by upper class people and businesses. In the
past crimes like fraud, embezzlement, income tax evasion, and abuse of political and legal powers
were treated by authorities more than typical crimes.
Historically, most white collar criminals were simply fired or fined. Rarely were jail sentences
imposed let alone served. This leniency stemmed from the perception that a high status individual
implicated in criminal activity was sufficiently punished by the loss of their social stature and
partly from the fact that most white collar crimes are so called victimless offenses. Only recently
has this attitude begun to change. White collar crime has become an increasing problem in the
latter part of the twentieth century. Authorities in the U.S., in particular, are dealing more severely
with such crimes. Identity theft has been a problem facing police departments recently. It is a
crime in which someone obtains and uses another person s personal information in a way that
involves fraud. In the United States and Canada, for example, many people have reported that
unauthorized people have taken money out of their bank. In 1998 Congress made identity theft a
federal offense to therefore create stricter penalties for these criminals. Police agencies all over the
country must constantly adjust to the shifting nature of crime and the ways criminals will be

The Theme Of Acceptance In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
Viewed by children full of life and elderly folks barely holding on, acceptance is witnessed. It is
expressed through an individual s actions, words, or silence. Acceptance plays a role when
understanding another s religion, values, and opinions. It can be found not only in society, but in
literature and media. In The Lottery, by Shirley Jackson, she shows us an example of blind
acceptance through her main event and desperate character, Tessie Hutchinson. In Texas V. Johnson

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Collective Bargaining
Unions are no doubt about power in numbers, by workers speaking together as a unionised body
to defend their rights they are much more likely to achieve their goals and fairer working
conditions. Collective bargaining can be divided into two types, adversarial and co operative.
Adversarial collective bargaining is where employees express different opinions, pervasive
conflict of interests and short term low trust perspectives. This method can cause debate, when
one individual sees an idea proposed as not such a good idea. Co operative collective bargaining
is the opposite consisting of a group of workers with common interests, freely expressing opinions
with one another, seeking others views and wanting to find a conclusion that everyone is happy
with. There are various forms of collective bargaining that exist inside the EU. Cross border
collective bargaining formed as a result of the European Monetary Union. It was set up to evade a
race to the bottom in relation to wage costs of various national trade unions in an effort to raise
international competitiveness. Single employer bargaining between trade unions and individual

two examples of forms of collective bargaining that exist within the EU. Implying that... Show more

Inner Journey Assessment William F Buckley quoted If all difficulties were known at the outset of
a long journey most of us would never start at all . This quote relates to journeys, specifically to
inner journeys with the intention that many journeys are difficult and if individuals knew how
difficult the journey was going to be, then most of us would not even commence the journey. A
journey is simply a movement from one place to another. Physical journeys are gateways to inner
journeys, which is a journey of the mind and spirit. Inner journeys take place when an individual
experiences events or is involved in relationships that act as a catalyst to gain greater understanding
about themselves and the world. Inner journeys can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The metaphor transfers the journey from a physical one. The persona is confronted with the
choice of two roads, both fairly similar two roads diverged in a yellow wood , and must decide
which one he wants to travel. This is similar to Lewis s situation where he has to decide between
politics, and true love and fidelity and which is more important. The persona, with ultimately
choosing the one that was grassy and wanted wear and the one less travelled by . He wanted to
break away from the norm and experience something new. This road may be more rewarding
despite the fact it presents more challenges. The inner journey is depicted through the use of
language techniques such as, extended metaphor, first person pronoun, repetition and symbolism.
The use of first person pronoun I shows that it is a personal journey where choices need to be
made. The repetition of I in the last stanza highlights the speaker s solitude and that he is proud
of the choice he has made and I I took the one less travelled by , also emphasises that we are
responsible for our own decisions on our own journey. It helps the audience connect to the poem
and inturn reflect on their own inner journey experiences. Frost uses symbolism in the word in the
first line of the first stanza in yellow of the wood. This symbolises the season autumn and the
autumnal time in ones life where time is running out and decisions need to be made, this

The Romantic Hero in Pechorin, Onegin, and the Demon Essay...
The Romantic Hero in Pechorin, Onegin, and the Demon
Through examining the works of Lermontov, A Hero of Our Time, and The Demon, as well as
Pushkin s Eugene Onegin, we can see the similarities between Pechorin, the Demon, and Onegin
and how each character embodies the qualities of the romantic hero. A romantic hero is a very
contradicting character. For example, in the History of Russian Literature by Charles A. Moser, he
describes the romantic hero as having the anguish of emptiness; the trembling anxieties of a
shallow self love as well as genuine power and courage; noble aspirations along with ignorance and
poor upbringing (137). All of the traits stated above are very conflicting. Pechorin, Onegin and the
Demon, being the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pechorin, being the tactless character he is, treats women as an incentive for endless conquests
and does not consider them worthy of any particular respect. He considers women, such as
Princess Mary, to be little more than a romantic game and they have no meaning to him. This is
shown in his comment on Princess Mary: I often wonder why I m trying so hard to win the love
of a girl I have no desire to seduce and whom I d never marry (Lermontov, 126). This quote is a
perfect example of how Pechorin can be extremely self serving and disregard the feelings of
others. It also exemplifies his inability to return to the strong feelings of love.
Toward the end of the novel we explore Pechorin s final adventures that lead to his downfall and
isolation from society, resulting in his death. It is in his final adventures that we see Pechorin
take a turn for the worse as he says, And perhaps tomorrow I ll die...so why bother to live
(Lermontov 157). In this passage it becomes clear as day that Pechorin has fallen into a deep
depression. The constant change in personality and character is the exact reason that explains how
Pechorin is a perfect example of the literary romantic hero.
Pechorin describes his own personality as self destructive, and he came to the realization that he
doesn t understand his purpose as he constantly questions why he is involved in many situations
throughout the novel. His boredom with life, and feeling of emptiness, gives him

Roman Mythology Essay
Roman Mythology
The ancient Greek and ancient Roman religion was the belief in gods.
They had similar beliefs, but also vast differences. They came from each other and gave their
people a form of morality. It was composed of many meaningful gods and goddesses that all played
a part in the everyday life of the average
Roman and Greek person of that time. They believed in something called polytheism. It is the
belief of many gods; each given a personality, function, relationship to each other through family,

The Introduction of the Burqini in Europe
In January of 2007, a new style of bathing suit known as the Burqini became a media sensation.
Burqini is a multi piece head to toe bathing suit designed especially for women who follow Islam
and practice sartorial hijab and cover their entire body except face hands and feet. The media
created this portmanteau of burqa and bikini and referred to these full body multi piece swimsuits
to modestly dress Muslim women as burqinis. Burqini has received a lot of attention from media
from all over the world; both positive and negative, making it a sensational piece of garment in
21st century. The most public attention gained by this garment was in 2009 when it was banned in
Emerainville , a suburb of Paris in France and later in Italy making because it was unhygienic and
inappropriate clothing for a public baths. Therefore, making Burqini one of the most controversial
piece of clothing as it questions culture, religion, health and hygiene of the individual who wears
a Burqini along with the people who are in the same bath as the individual wearing Burqini. This
paper discusses how and why Burqini became a controversial piece of garment by focusing on
news stories, written records and personal interviews of people who wear Burqini. It critically
analyses and focuses on how this controversy of faith versus hygiene of Burqini wearers is just a
result of cultural clash.
Introduction of the burqini in Europe led to juxtaposing perspectives on whether or not it should be

Compare And Contrast Huntington And Fukuyama
Samuel Huntington and Francis Fukuyama
The Berlin Wall was about to fall, the Soviet Union was collapsing, and the world was clamoring
for the consumerist boom in an orgy of free market handful experience, international politics began
travelling out of a Westernized phase, and the relation between the West and the rest began to
crystallize and contest.
Huntington and Fukuyama both provide ground breaking paradigms that explain the complexities
of an embryonic post Cold War world. Their distinct ideologies are a result of their respective false
consciousness which, stems from particular political ideas embodying different social interests.
Huntington peddles a culturalist thesis whilst Fukuyama embodies a framework of universalization
of western liberal democracy in the socio cultural evolution to the end point of human governance.
Fukuyama presented his argument in 1992, and his teacher responded in 1993 with his theory, The
clash of civilizations . Not only do their theories differ from one another, but we see a stark
difference in their writing style as well. Huntington refers to his thesis as a hypothesis, indicating an

conform to the liberal democratic model. At the end of history, he wrote, it is not necessary that all
societies become successful liberal societies, merely that they end their ideological pretensions of
representing different and higher forms of human society. (Fukuyama,

The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas Analysis
Living in a life of fairytale, a life that mirrors a life that is unreal and too good to be true. The
short story by Urusla K. Le Guin The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas won the Hugo award
for best short story in 1974. In this short story Le Guin writes about a town Omelas that is
portrayed as too good to be true. Omelas sounds in my words like a city in a fairy tale, long ago
and far away, once upon a time (Le Guin 254). In this town being happy comes at another s
suffering. In our society we tend to live for our own happiness even if that means harming others
in the process. We strive for success in this world, we want money and we want to be the best.
Our happiness is important to us but we are willing to take from others in order to get to our
happiness. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting (253). Some of us are willing to watch
others suffer as long as we are successful and happy. The Omelas people live in denial But to praise
despair is to condemn delight, to embrace violence is to lose hold of everything else (253). It is as

Analysis Of The New York Times Article By Gary Allan Fine
The past should never be altered. The New York Times article by Gary Allan Fine is about the
National Collegiate Athletic Association (N.C.A.A.) changing history by taking away the Penn
State football victories from 1998 2011. History was changed by making the losers of these
football games the winners. In George Orwell s 1984, the past is always being changed or

correct for vacating Penn State s win and the novel 1984 relates to this because the past is always

Persuasive Essay Homeschooling
Homeschooling has been around a very long time. It has never been a new thing, it just hasn t
been as popular as it used to be (Lines, p. 76). With this topic meaning so much to groups for and
against the right for homeschooling and what should be legalized or not, the debate still rages on
from local to even national government entities. Both sides of the argument have valid points to be
had, but it is ultimately the choice for the parents. There have been many different ways to educate
children that the decision is difficult for the parents and their children. Although some educators
may criticize the homeschool process by citing a lack of socialization as a problem, parents should
consider homeschoolingbecause it is economically beneficial, it allows for flexibility and
customization of curriculum, and enables students to master concepts at their own pace.
First off, people don t really know what homeschooling is to begin with. Simple reason is that it has
no public or academic attention. It has gotten so little attention that it is, in essences, been referred
to as the quiet revolution (Monk, p. 295). Chris Jeub stated it best: Homeschooling neither isolates
children nor harms their academic growth; it does, however, come close to the true definition of
education: the passing down of culture (Jeub, p. 50). Another way to describe it is taking school
courses through certified institutions, like a public school or university. Some choose for a
program that goes towards a high school degree. Others opt to find someone who is certified to
teach (Larsen, p. 92). Back when it first picked up, nobody really knew what it was. Nowadays, it
has become more popular and people now know what it is. Surprising, there is a variety of people
that do homeschooling, from high income to low income families. There are some that have
doctorates or even a diploma in a general subject. Families with either one or two parents and
differing ethnics and religious or secular inducement choose homeschooling (Ray 2002). They also
come to the conclusion that homeschoolers, for the most part, have free reign when it comes to
their homework and school pace that they feel that suits them the best.

Clear Braces Essay
If you are considering your teeth straightening options, then you may have your eye on clear
braces. They are a a great option for people who want the advantages of traditional braces over
clear aligners but still want an appliance that is less noticeable than traditional metal braces. You
may not realize how many options you still have even after making this decision, and here are
three tips to follow when making those choices to end up with braces that are virtually invisible on
your teeth.
1. Choose Between Clear and Tooth colored Brackets
When many people decide they want clear braces, they don t realize that there are color choices in
brackets. Truly clear brackets are made of monocrystalline alumina, while whitish, tooth colored

Following this advice will help you achieve a final result that is the least noticeable.
When in doubt, you can ask your orthodontist for a sample of each material and hold the up to your
teeth to see which you think looks better!
2. Opt for Arch Wires with a White Coating
If you think that clear braces still have to end up very noticeable due to the metal arch wire that all
traditional braces need to have, then think again. While your orthodontist will choose the wire with
the diameter and shape best for you and your teeth straightening goals, you can ask for a white
coating on them to make them just as unnoticeable as your brackets.
The only disadvantage to choosing this coating is that it may chip here and there, but the wire can
be replaced when it develops a chip in a noticeable spot. When changing your wire due to chips in
the white coating, your orthodontist may charge you a small extra fee. However, many people find
it well worth it when they always have wires that are virtually invisible.

comic party poster
Summary: Just when high school nears the close, a Japanese student named Kazuki and his
girlfriend, is pulled by his scheming best friend Taishi into the world of fan comics. As Kazuki s
obsession with finishing his comic in time for the next convention threatens his schoolwork and his
relationships, he must decide how he will use his time or risk losing Mizuki.
STORY 4.1
Tragically, it has been a long time since I watched the show, and clearly my methods changed over
the years. From the fragments I do remember comes a great, clean story of one named Kazuki and
his introduction into Manga (specifically doujinshi) that takes us on a journey through an industry.
When most people think of Manga in America, they might compare it to Marvel Comics, which is
somewhat misleading. Manga is not reserved for super heroes nor to trite concepts that may be
disgusting in America (see The Mask) but yet never quite puts us inside. This is not to say Comic
Party attempts this, rather it expresses the deeply woven nature of the Manga universe that should
give any foreigner a pause before stereotyping the industry negatively.
This is perhaps the biggest appeal and weakness to Comic Party, in that as an educational comedy
it seeks to balance self deprecating jokes with giving its audience a better comprehension of the
work involved, all while not coming off as boring or uninspired.
Whether it succeeds is largely up to you, however

Manette, his miraculous transformation comes in the form of aid of his daughter, Lucie, that
allows him to shoulder transpired events, to become again the man that once was, to cast aside

an evolution, stronger both in body as well as mind breathing, through actions and pages, capturing

presented in two ways: the first way is Viola, who cross dresses as a man to hide her identity and
wealth and the second, is when the women in the play go after what they desire, even if it goes
against the normalities of gender in the Elizabethan Era. In Frances Burney s, Evelina, women give

The Effect Of An Auditory Signals On One s Perception Of...
In this article, the researchers studied the effect of an auditory signal on one s perception of eye
gaze. They mention that people are born with the ability to differentiate between direct and
adverted gaze, and this ability becomes increasingly important throughout adulthood. Another
important social signal involves a person s auditory system. In infancy, children become sensitive to
hearing their own name. This auditory signal often occurs at the same time as direct eye contact.

into 3 classifications, cicatricial alopecia (inflammatory), nonscarring alopecia and inherited and
acquired structural hair disorders. In evaluating hair loss it is important to assess duration and
rate, location and pattern, extent of loss, associated symptoms, hair care practices, and
differentiation of hair shedding from breakage. Medical and family history, diet, and
medications need to be assessed (Shapiro, Otberg, Hordinsky, 2013). Telogen effluvium is
diffuse hair loss that is reversible caused by a significant stressor such as significant weight loss,
pregnancy, major illness or surgery (Goldstein Goldstein, 2012). As the patient has lost 50 pound
in 10 months, this is the most likely cause of her diffuse hair loss. She will stop her very low
carbohydrate diet for a more moderate, varied diet. If the hair loss continues she will need further
evaluation. Differential diagnosis 1.Endocrine related hair loss: Hair loss may be caused by

Essay on Information Literacy and the Public Library
The American Association for School Libraries defines information literacy as the ability to use
many types of reference resources and literacies to find information. The different types of reference
resources and literacies include: digital, visual, textual, and technological literacies. The American
Association for School Libraries has four main learning standards. The first covers inquiry, thinking
critically, and gaining knowledge. The second standard includes drawing conclusions, making
informal decisions, applying knowledge to new situations, and creating new knowledge. The third
standard asks students to be able to share knowledge and participate ethically. It also requires them
to be productive as members of our democratic society.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is evidence of a wide range of information literacy focused programs in public libraries
worldwide (Harding, p. 157). Indeed, libraries across the United States are finding ways to provide
their communities with the necessary information literacy programs. Harding (2008) points out that
these library programs are providing information literacy support , and they have the opportunity
to foster the lifelong learning of their communities (p. 157). The public library has great
strengths when it comes to providing information literacy programming. Public libraries have
been considered the place to go for continuing education for an extremely long time. Public
libraries reach a large range of people on a daily basis. Harding (2008) points out that the library
has a wide diversity of clientele and the potential to reach all sections of the community from
children to older adults, and across minority groups and educational and professional levels. (p.
159) For many children, a public library is their first experience with learning in a group
environment. Oftentimes, community members are loyal to one library and this allows librarians
to foster long lasting relationships with them. Harding (2008) also suggests that public libraries
have the opportunity to provide one on one instruction during client librarian interactions such as
reference interviews (p. 160).This one on one instruction is another way

Narrative Essay On Co-Ops
On a cold, Thursday evening, Joey, Monica, Rachel, Ross, and Phoebe are each indulging in a
hot cup of coffee at Central Perk, waiting for their buddy, Chandler, to arrive. He should be here
soon, Joey states. It only takes 97 steps to get here from our apartment. He s had time for at least
85. Ross rolls his eyes and waves Rachel over so she can refill his coffee cup and take a break
from her tough waitressing job. You guys actually may want to go ahead and head home, Rachel
warns. What? Why s that? We don t have anything better to do than nothing, might as well do it
here. And we get free coffee here, Monica explains, lifting her coffee cup for Rachel s attention. As

Wait, I don t know if I m sold on these co ops yet, Monica intervenes. It sounds great and all, but
how do I know it s not too good to be true? Well, everything I ve said is true, Joey assures her.
And, you see, if the co op ever starts to switch around on you, then you have the power to do
something about it. Once you join, you become a member. Co ops are kinda like the United
States. You know how we get to choose what goes on because we re citizens? Members of co ops
get that, too. For example, if you didn t like, I don t know, the glow of your light bulbs, you
could tell your co op about it! Ross frowns. Joey, I don t think complaining about light bulbs
would work out, Ross tells him, but from what I understand, co ops always hear their members
out if they have a meaningful comment. I think that s what Joey means with his United States
analogy. Sounds like a good deal to me, Phoebe concludes and shrugs her shoulders. How do I
join, though? I don t have any qualifications, and I m unemployed. See, that s the beauty of a co
op! Joey exclaims. Anyone can join! Even losers like us? Chandler asks hopefully. Yes, even us!
Joey restates. Wasn t JFK awesome for deciding to get the first co op

The Influence Of Acetylcholine On The Body
The body uses chemicals known as neurotransmitters, and according to Dr. C. George Boeree, they
are chemicals which allow the transmission of signals from one neuron to the next across synapses.
Additionally, neurotransmitters are also responsible for muscle stimulation that are produced by
adrenal glands and pituitary glands. One of the first, and most abundant, neurotransmitters to be
discovered is acetylcholine, often abbreviated ACh (Cherry). This was first discovered by a
German biologist, Otto Loewi, in 1921 who later won a Nobel Prize for his findings (Boeree).
Acetylcholine is present in both inhibitory functions as well as excitatory functions, which means
that it can both speed up and slow down nerve signals ( Acetylcholine ). Its role in the central
nervous systemis excitatory, and plays a role in arousal, learning, memory, and neuroplasticity. Other
functions include engaging functions such as waking, help sustain focus, maintain rapid eye
movement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example imbalances in acetylcholine can cause the development of myasthenia gravis, a
disorder that causes weakness in muscles and fatigue ( Acetylcholine ). Another example is the fact
that an imbalance of acetylcholine and dopamine, can cause Parkinson s disease. Acetylcholine
works with dopamine neurotransmitter linked with mood and the sensation of pleasure to smooth
out movements so when there is an imbalance it causes shaky movements, which is a key trait of
Parkinson s disease ( Acetylcholine ). Even damage to the certain parts of the brain that produces
acetylcholine, such as the cholinergic portion of the brain, is linked to cause the development of
Alzheimer s disease; the varied levels of acetylcholine is common in Alzheimer s patients. The lack
of acetylcholine, specifically in the hippocampus can cause dementia; although, an abundant
amount of acetylcholine can cause depression

And when team news was announced the always nervous looking Karius entrance was confirmed
as one of only two changes made by the Liverool manager, who also introduced Joe Gomez for

However the full flowing Salah did finally find the net when he bolted on to Joel Matip s clearing
header, ran the length of the pitch, and slotted coolly into the bottom corner for a magnificent
break away goal which gave the Reds a two goal lead at the half time.
Sadio Mane had a massive chance to end the contest once and for all with 25 minutes remaining, but
the Senegalese saw his finish battered off the line as it was heading in the net. A phenomenal fourth
did arrive seven minutes later, when substitute Daniel Sturridge joined was in on the act, heading
home Salah s pin point cross only minutes after coming on.
With Arsenal by now well and truly deflated, the Reds then saw out the last 13 minutes untroubled
to earn an important and crucial victory at Anfield . It was a sensational performance from the
Reds, and one which saw a third straight win recorded over Wenger s side for the first time since
1997.

threat to the wounded Arsenal defence all game. The electric reds look in good stead for the rest of

Write An Essay On Squid Research Papers
we all exist in a world populated with our fellow creatures. The study of interactions between
organisms and their environments is called ecology, and in the ecology of the open ocean,
Humboldt squid stand front and center. They are hunted and consumed throughout their lives
by a wide variety of predators. The squid themselves are also voracious generalist predators,
meaning that they eat a wide variety of prey, and lots of it. And, like all animals, Humboldt
squid play the ecological role of host to numerous parasites. A single female Humboldt squid can
lay millions of eggs, of which only a few will survive to adulthood. The rest provide a high
protein buffet for any marine life that can catch them, their vast numbers creating a significant
source of food for small predators. Once they grow up, Humboldt squid are too large to be eaten
by the predators that stalked them when they were young, but there are plenty of larger predators
out there. Tuna, sharks, dolphins, and especially sperm whales love to chow down on Humboldt
squid. In fact, sperm whales in the Gulf of California live almost entirely on Humboldt squid. And
of course, humans catch and eat hundreds of thousands of tons of Humboldt squid every year. But
Humboldt squid are hardly ecological victims they know how to do some damage... Show more

In Mexico, their diet is dominated by myctophids small open ocean fish, sometimes called
lanternfish, that glow in the dark. They also eat swimming red crabs and small squid. In
California, they also eat mostly myctophids, small squid and krill, but they sometimes add larger
prey to their diet, such as flatfish, rockfish, hake and even salmon. This worries fishermen and
fishery managers, because humans also like to catch and eat flatfish, rockfish, hake and salmon. If
Humboldt squid compete with us for these resources, will the fisheries be in trouble? Scientists aren

Bertrand Russell on Analytical Philsophy Essay example
The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to
end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it
Bertrand Russell, The Philosophy of Logical Atomism.
Bertrand Russell was born in 1872 in Wales, England as a member of a famous British family. He
received a degree from Trinity Cambridge College with honors in Mathematics and Moral Sciences.
His most famous works included the subjects of logic and philosophy, which were deeply rooted in
his mathematics background. In fact, Russell is probably the most highly regarded and most read
English speaking philosopher of our time. Russell was not merely an intellectual, but also a political

The Analysis of the Mind written in 1921 show the connections between Russell s views on the
nature of the mind and how matter is altered in relation to it. Russell s key themes seem to be that
of physical vs. psychological. In fact, Russell expands on the ideas that there is in fact no
difference between the two and the only key difference is the perception given by the person trying
to distinguish between the two. Russell sees the difference between physics and psychology only in
the laws that bind them, or so he states in the opening while it seems this theory will be altered
throughout his books.
Consciousness is logically fundamental. Without it, how can there be anything observed or even
thought about? We need consciousness to experience anything, including but not limited to,
sensations and images, memories, beliefs, and desires . Consciousness is, in essence, the most
important aspect of the mental state, but Russell does not agree, and says so in the following
passage; `Sensation, in the strict sense of the term, demands the existence of consciousness. This
statement, at first sight, is one to which we feel inclined to assent, but I believe we are mistaken if
we do so. Russell actually holds to the idea that while consciousness is important, it is not
necessary. Russell states that he believes we are not always aware of things that happen, and
therefore consciousness is

Similarities Between 70 And 70
The 70 s v. 2017 Life in the 70 s was very different than it is today. When you compare the 1970s
to 2017 you can see the huge differences, and maybe some similarities. A lot has changed since
the 70 s, including the style, lifestyle, pop culture, and more. Since the 70 s a lot has changed, we
have changed in some ways and are similar in more ways than one. Here are the differences and
similarities between the 70 s and today, 2017. In the 70 s the first president of the decade was
Richard Nixon, he was the 37th president and was in office 1969 1974. Eventually Gerald Fordheld
office after Nixon resigned to avoid the eventual outcome of Watergate, which would have led to
impeachment. Jimmy Carter then served as president in years 1977 1981, with Walter Mondale
as vice president. Today in 2017 we have Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and people are begging
for Trump to be impeached, similar to Nixon. Though people do see impeachment in Trump s
future, but some do not. Another difference since the 70 s is the inflation of the dollar. A dollar
in 1970 is worth $6.30 today, which is a 530.0% increase. A dollar in 1979 is worth $3.37, which is
a 237% increase. When comparing the 70 s to today it is always best to compare the cost of
living. In 1970 minimum wage was $1.60, today in New Mexico minimum wage is now $9.25. A
year of tuition at a public college was about $1,200 in the 70 s, according to the college board, the
average student payed about $9,650 for tuition. In January of

I.Purpose of Research
The changing landscape of the luxury industry challenges brands to find a new approach to reach
out to their core costumers. Brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Burberry are about to jeopardize
their true customers and their image by overexposing themselves to a mass luxury clientele. Thus, a
new approach must be found to bring back the feeling of true luxury, personal attention and to

In the case of outlet stores, brands are trying to sell their overstock, which has highly increased
due to mass production. Not only is merchandise that was once available at a high end boutique
sold for a discount price, moreover some brands are producing some items solely for outlets
(Edouard, 2006, 11). Assessing the six main facets of a luxury brand, which have been identified
in a broad empirical study by Dubois/Laurent/Czellar and are considered to be global and most
accurate, one can review the situation of the luxury market today. The six main facets are (Dubois
/Laurent/Czellar, 2001, 8 ff.):
Very High Price (according to the absolute price (inter categorical) as well as the price relative to
other brands of the same category (intracategorical)). Excellent Quality (according to the processed
materials as well as the assumed diligence of the manufacturing process). Scarcity Uniqueness
(expressed by a difficult accessibility and rarity). Aesthetics Polysensuality (creating through design,
colors etc. a value experience that touches all senses). Ancestral Heritage Personal History
(continuous branding in design, communications etc.). Superfluousness (dominant perception of
symbolic attributes
compared to technical functional ones). It is evident that at least two of the six facets, namely
Excellent Quality and Scarcity and Uniqueness, are not fulfilled in many cases anymore. Industry

  • 6. Summary Of Pollastek E. Al s Study Summary: The central focus of Pollastek et al s (2012) study was to determine why elderly drivers are more likely to be involved in vehicular accidents at intersections than younger experienced drivers. As a means of data collection Pollastek et al (2012) tested the scanning ability of elderly drivers at intersections through a series of different scenarios. Each scenario took place in a simulated environment, testing the scanning ability of elderly drivers where they were instructed to go through 1) a four way intersection, 2) turn right at a T intersection and 3) proceed through an intersection. Pollastek et al (2012) found that elderly drivers fail to properly scan for potential hazards while proceeding through intersections. Pollastek et al (2012) also found that by providing video feedback the participants in the training group performed similarly to younger experienced drivers. Reactions: The strengths of Pollastek et al s (2012) study lie in the methods used for data collection. By utilizing a driving simulator to imitate potentially hazardous driving conditions, Pollastek et al (2012) ensured that the experiment was safely conducted. The various health clinic and medical personnel will be a vital part of this campaign as they will be the professionals responsible for the administration, testing, reporting and counseling services necessary to accomplish our mission. What Is The Implementation Of PPP In The Compensation System 3.1.1 Implementation Mechanisms Implementation of PPP in the liability and compensation regime is seen through adequate reference to mechanisms such as compulsory insurance and compensation funds whereby a ship owner is required to constitute a fund with the Court for the total limit of his liability to avail the benefit of limitation , and maintain compulsory insurance certified by the appropriate State authority for any ship carrying more than 2,000 tons of oil . 3.1.2 Loss of Right to Limit Liability There is very narrow scope for a ship owner to be exonerated from strict liability. It requires proof that damage resulted from war or was wholly caused by an intentional act or omission of a third party or by negligence of an authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Small Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Fund (STOPIA) was established to raise maximum amount of compensation payable for small ships and the Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Agreement (TOPIA) was established to indemnify the supplementary fund 50% of the compensation amount it pays in event of an oil pollution accident. Considering the costs of some of the biggest oil spills in history, the SF holds adequate funds to deal with oil spills of high magnitudes; till date no incident has required compensation from the SF . The liability and compensation provisions of the CLC and FC satisfy the main components the PPP by allowing the victims impartial access to remedies and allocating costs of pollution damage, emergency response and clean up to the polluters . The abovementioned factors show that the Conventions have come a far way in achieving a perfect balance in burden sharing among the shipping and oil industries, adapting the polluter pays theory to the extent feasible. Disturbing this balance for the few incidents where admissible claims exceeded the limits under the 1992 CLC and FC would mean disturbing a widely accepted, well tested and successful system operating on an international level . An interesting view is raised by Chao Wu in his paper on threats to the International Convention System; he questions the fairness in expecting the transporter and cargo owners to bear all the costs ... In the past crimes like fraud, embezzlement, income tax evasion, and abuse of political and legal powers were treated by authorities more than typical crimes. Historically, most white collar criminals were simply fired or fined. Rarely were jail sentences imposed let alone served. This leniency stemmed from the perception that a high status individual implicated in criminal activity was sufficiently punished by the loss of their social stature and partly from the fact that most white collar crimes are so called victimless offenses. With this topic meaning so much to groups for and against the right for homeschooling and what should be legalized or not, the debate still rages on from local to even national government entities. Both sides of the argument have valid points to be had, but it is ultimately the choice for the parents. Although some educators may criticize the homeschool process by citing a lack of socialization as a problem, parents should consider homeschoolingbecause it is economically beneficial, it allows for flexibility and customization of curriculum, and enables students to master concepts at their own pace. First off, people don t really know what homeschooling is to begin with. Simple reason is that it has no public or academic attention. It has gotten so little attention that it is, in essences, been referred to as the quiet revolution (Monk, p. 295). Chris Jeub stated it best: Homeschooling neither isolates children nor harms their academic growth; it does, however, come close to the true definition of education: the passing down of culture (Jeub, p. 50). Another way to describe it is taking school courses through certified institutions, like a public school or university. Some choose for a program that goes towards a high school degree. Others opt to find someone who is certified to teach (Larsen, p. 92). Back when it first picked up, nobody really knew what it was. Nowadays, it has become more popular and people now know what it is. Surprising, there is a variety of people that do homeschooling, from high income to low income families. There are some that have doctorates or even a diploma in a general subject. Families with either one or two parents and differing ethnics and religious or secular inducement choose homeschooling (Ray 2002). Manga is not reserved for super heroes nor to trite concepts that may be disgusting in America (see The Mask) but yet never quite puts us inside. This is not to say Comic Party attempts this, rather it expresses the deeply woven nature of the Manga universe that should give any foreigner a pause before stereotyping the industry negatively. This is perhaps the biggest appeal and weakness to Comic Party, in that as an educational comedy it seeks to balance self deprecating jokes with giving its audience a better comprehension of the work involved, all while not coming off as boring or uninspired. Whether it succeeds is largely up to you, however ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The complexity of a story can neither be salvaged nor understood but from the barest elements that comprise its thematic importance. In term of Dr. Manette, his miraculous transformation comes in the form of aid of his daughter, Lucie, that allows him to shoulder transpired events, to become again the man that once was, to cast aside the shell, to fill the hollowness, evolving into not a shadow of his former self, but a mirror, then an evolution, stronger both in body as well as mind breathing, through actions and pages, capturing and reborn from the ruins dramatic. Despite this miracle, there is no greater a seeming transformation, in the eyes of reader and narrator, than that of Sydney Carton, whose sacrifice can be summarized in the simple phrase he kept his word. The giving of himself, for another, to cover another, a sacrifice so great that he is not only reborn in terms of character but also in the eyes of the knowing. George Boeree, they are chemicals which allow the transmission of signals from one neuron to the next across synapses. Additionally, neurotransmitters are also responsible for muscle stimulation that are produced by adrenal glands and pituitary glands. One of the first, and most abundant, neurotransmitters to be discovered is acetylcholine, often abbreviated ACh (Cherry). This was first discovered by a German biologist, Otto Loewi, in 1921 who later won a Nobel Prize for his findings (Boeree). Acetylcholine is present in both inhibitory functions as well as excitatory functions, which means that it can both speed up and slow down nerve signals ( Acetylcholine ). The study of interactions between organisms and their environments is called ecology, and in the ecology of the open ocean, Humboldt squid stand front and center. They are hunted and consumed throughout their lives by a wide variety of predators. The squid themselves are also voracious generalist predators, meaning that they eat a wide variety of prey, and lots of it. And, like all animals, Humboldt squid play the ecological role of host to numerous parasites. A single female Humboldt squid can lay millions of eggs, of which only a few will survive to adulthood. The rest provide a high protein buffet for any marine life that can catch them, their vast numbers creating a significant source of food for small predators. Once they grow up, Humboldt squid are too large to be eaten by the predators that stalked them when they were young, but there are plenty of larger predators out there. Tuna, sharks, dolphins, and especially sperm whales love to chow down on Humboldt squid. In fact, sperm whales in the Gulf of California live almost entirely on Humboldt squid. Since the 70 s a lot has changed, we have changed in some ways and are similar in more ways than one. Here are the differences and similarities between the 70 s and today, 2017. In the 70 s the first president of the decade was Richard Nixon, he was the 37th president and was in office 1969 1974. Eventually Gerald Fordheld office after Nixon resigned to avoid the eventual outcome of Watergate, which would have led to impeachment. Today in 2017 we have Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and people are begging for Trump to be impeached, similar to Nixon. Though people do see impeachment in Trump s future, but some do not. Another difference since the 70 s is the inflation of the dollar. A dollar in 1970 is worth $6.30 today, which is a 530.0% increase. A dollar in 1979 is worth $3.37, which is a 237% increase.
