- A 49-year-old man presented with abdominal pain and vomiting. Imaging showed a partial small bowel obstruction. - During surgery, a Meckel's diverticulum was found torsed around the small bowel, causing the obstruction. The Meckel's diverticulum was resected. - Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital gastrointestinal abnormality, occurring in about 2% of the population. It can cause bleeding, intestinal obstruction, or inflammation/perforation from diverticulitis.
