Technology And Systems Administration Has Prompted...
As indicated by Kizza (2013), the fast development of systems administration has prompted expanded
security dangers. A large portion of these dangers are an aftereffect of hacking, uncalled for
employments of system assets and system gadget vulnerabilities. Familiarity with the different
shortcomings and vulnerabilities is fundamental to the achievement of current systems (Kizza, 2013).
The system security occurrences are expanding at an exasperating rate each year. As the multifaceted
nature of these dangers expands, so do the efforts to establish safety required to secure systems.
Endeavor server farm administrators and investigators, arrange directors and in addition other server
farm specialists need to comprehend the standards of security so as to securely convey and oversee
organizes today.
Defenselessness Assessment
Vulnerabilities
Laurie (2002) characterizes defenselessness as shortcoming that is profoundly installed in each system
and gadget and along these lines hard to evacuate. Such gadgets incorporate switches, workstations,
switches, servers and in addition the security gadgets themselves. Vulnerabilities in system security
can be considered as the easy objectives inside each system. These vulnerabilities are available in the
whole system framework (LAN organize, singular gadgets and ISP) that make up the system (Laurie,
2002).
Systems are by and large confronted with all or a portion of the key vulnerabilities or shortcomings to
be specific;

Honore de Balzac and Gustave Flaubert s Writings on Capitalism
The Revolution in France, during the 19th century, gave power to the people for the first time in
France. French citizens now had faith that they could form a strong, independent country; but what
they did not realize was that there must be some form of financial or monetary backbone present for a
country to excel on its own in the modern world. This gave way to the rise of capitalism and all its
follies, debaucheries, and mainly the exploitive nature it excites in people. Two authors, who were
writing and observing these changes during this time in France, Honore de Balzac, and Gustave
Flaubert, exemplify the demoralization of a people caused by the onslaught of ... Show more content

Eugene s actions are exploitive because he has no regard for the well being of his family by asking for
their life savings. Eugene also does not take into account how he is going to recover the sums he
unethically acquires. However, capitalism s influence does not stop with Eugene in this instance. The
idea of needing expensive clothes and flashy attire influences his sister Laura that she should use her
sewing and clothes making skills in order to save Eugene some money, and therefore have a better
chance of Parisian high society accepting him. Eugene says that his sister has become as crafty as a
thief (87), which comments on the changes within her caused by the minute exposure to modern,
capitalistic, ideals. However, really Laura is stealing from herself by willingly exploiting her own
labor without compensation of any sort. Here, along with the ever present portrayal of Goriot s
daughters bamboozling him for money, Balzac illustrates the most pathetic and demoralizing form of
exploitation: when one exploits or unfairly takes advantage of their own family in a way that can lead
them to starvation or even death.
Pere Goriot and Eugene are not only involved with family exploitation, but they are also taking
advantage of each other in hopes of gaining

Europeans, for example, have been highly skeptical of any benefits they might gain from GM foods.
Many nations in the European Union (EU) have effectively banned imports of what they refer to as
Frankenfoods, a reference to the famous story of the fictional monster assembled by Dr. Frankenstein
from miscellaneous spare parts. The U.S claims that the EU s anti GM food policy violates free trade
laws.
Many questions remain regarding the future of GM foods. Should they continue to be sold in the U.S.,
even though they may have unforeseen negative consequences? Or should the U.S. take a cue from the
EU and limit the selling of GM foods until they are unequivocally proven to be risk free? Do the
possible future health benefits of GM foods such as fruits and vegetables with extra vitamins and
vaccines built into their DNA cancel out any potential risks that the new technology brings?
Supporters of GM foods say that since there has been no evidence of GM foods harming humans, it is
reasonable to assume that they are safe for consumption. GM food backers denounce criticism of
genetic engineering as fear mongering. Besides, they argue, no new technology is without a certain
degree of risk. GM food supporters believe that the possible health benefits of GM foods overwhelm
any possible dangers.
Supporters of biotech crops also maintain that if GM food technology is allowed to develop, it may
prove to be instrumental in eliminating world hunger.

Essay about Nationalist Ideas in the Middle East
Nationality is the desire of a group of people to preserve or obtain common statehood and the ideology
stressing loyalty to the nation state or seeking independence of a national group. Michel Aflaq,
Theodor Herzl, and the Palestinian National Charter have fundamentally different ideas on
establishing nationalism, however each movement and charter wishes to establish a national identity
as well as a state due to their experiences of oppression and dispersion. Michel Aflaq describes his
ideas on Arab nationalism through the Arab Baath party, which entails the establishment of an Arab
state and the right to govern themselves, as well as a revivification of old Arab thought and ideology.
Theodor Herzl depicts the Zionist nationalist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Book Review of The Chrysalids Essays
Book Review of The Chrysalids The future society depicted in The Chrysalids is still suffering the
after effects of a disaster sent by God, which all but destroyed the ancient world of the Old People.
The survivors called the disaster Tribulation. No one knows why it happened, but the narrator, David,
attributes it to a phase of irreligious arrogance , which God, in his anger, punished. Only a few legends
of the Old People remain. Centuries (millenia?) have passed, and the descendents of the Old People
continue to pick up the pieces. The Chrysalids is a book that deals with the issue of normality.

There is no technology and David describes the world as someone in the 18th century would see it,
hence the formal language, unused by people today. What most impressed me was the author s ability
to set up atmosphere in the novel. I still to this day, after years between readings remember images I
formed while reading the novel. Grass between the toes, the nuclear wastes, the way the children
formed telepathic images etc... One thing that I remember clearly is how the novel was like a breath of
fresh air, clean and smooth. There are no frilly edges and there is no attempt by the author to make the
book flashy. This makes the book pure and adds to the impact of the story. As an overview, there are a
group of children who are living in Eastern Canada after some type of holocaust (this is never much of
a point in the book... no one has memories of it). Their society is strongly anti mutant with a very
strict set of rules as to what is normal and what isn t. All of this children are normal looking but are
telepathic and form a click of just a small number. The book is their story of growing up and existing
in this paranoid and highly dogmatic society without being discovered and banished or killed. I really
loved this book. Unfortunately, I later found out that it is the follow up to a trilogy. It was still a

Summary Of The Fatal Environment By Richard Slotkin
This painting shows a Native American tribe on a snowy hill. They are watching a train pass by
diagonally below them. The party appears to be travelling somewhere together. Several of the
individuals are horseback riding while the others are walking. It´s looks like they are fleeing from
something, almost as these people are vanishing away from reality. This Trail of Tears that they are
riding/walking on was the the path that displaced North American Indian tribes from their land east of
the Mississippi River to the Indian Territory, the area that later became Oklahoma. The term Trail of
Tears comes from a text that describes the movement of the Cherokee, Muscogee, Seminole,
Chickasaw and Choctaw Nation. Several thousands of these Indians ... Show more content on

Slotkin illustrates the emergence by 1890 of a myth that was redefined to help Americans answer the
misperception and conflict of the industrialization and grand extension. In The Fatal Environment,
Richard Slotkin proves in what way the myth of frontier growth and defeat of the Native Americans
helped to validate the progression of Americas final stand as a symbol for whatever Americans feared
might occurred if the frontier were to be closed, and the violent part be allowable to rule the civilized,
Slotkin displays the rise by 1890 of a fable redefined to support Americans answer to the
misunderstanding and contention of industrialization and grand extension.
Sweeney is comparing The Fatal Environment to The Morning of a New Day.
He argues that the reason why Farny s Morning of a New Day attract few imitators is because of the
ambivalent image of the fatal environment within it. The fact that it represents the genocide of the
Native American tribes was the result the dominant bourgeois group s belief in its self proclaimed
manifest destiny to take the West from the Native Americans by military conquest, through
technological and entrepreneurial superiority, or if necessary by outright theft. (Page 141)

Where did the Chinese workers emanate from?Railroad workers recruited by labor contractors came
mostly from Guangdong (Canton) province, especially Siyi (四邑Sze Yap, denoting four counties:
Taishan台山, Kaiping开平, Xinhui新会 and Enping恩平). Without them it would be infeasible to
consummate the western portion of this great national enterprise, within the time required by the Acts
of Congress. Soon the Chinese labor pool from California was exhausted, and the Central Pacific
arranged with labor contractors to import sizably voluminous numbers of Chinese workers directly
from China. The railroad did not list most individual Chinese workers by name in their payroll
records, and instead listed headmen of work crews or labor contractors who distributed pay to the
individuals on the crew. However, Chinese workers worked longer hours and had to pay their
headmen or contractors for their own lodging and pabulum and even for their implements; on the
other hand, the Central Pacific and Coalescence Pacific provided white workers accommodations,
aliment, and implements without adscititious cost. Desperate for work, workers from this component
of Guangdong boarded ships for California and other components to fortify their families. What were

Global Public Policy Is Made By State And Non State Actors
Global public issues such as global climate change, international financial market, illicit international
trade, cross border migration, internet governance and cyber war, nuclear proliferation, global public
drug and etc cause a need of global public policy. Basically global public policy has been designed in
order to achieve desired goals in global public challenges. Global public policy is made by state and
non state actors. In classical political science only the states were recognized as a significant actors in
public policy and international policies were made between states( Wimmer and Schiller,2002), while
in the recent decades non state actors play important role in global governance(Whitman, 2009,87).
For instance, UN, UNDP, UNIDO are central in the global public sphere (Kaul 2003).
Global public policy activities take place among non state actors and intergovernmental counterpart in
global agora (Stone, 2008, 5 8).Global public policy needs to be made in global agora. Previously,
global agora was a place for social, economical, political and cultural interaction of states and non
states members. However, today global agora is evolving with various set of networks , global public
and private partnership and multilateral initiatives global agora is managed by business and policy
elites(Stone, 2008, 10).
Global public policy aim to respond to three types of policy problems (Soroos 1991):
Firstly, transboundary problems such as money laundry, drug trafficking and

Brain Symbolism
The symbolism of the heart being related to the brain I feel is very unlikely. Although studies have
shown that in recent research of the heart they have found little details on how they have discovered
little neutrons and protons and nerve cells that can relate to the brain making it more believable that
the heart is much more than just another organ. The heart does not only just pump blood but they also
think the heart can transplant memories from the donor s past experiences. The symbolism of the heart
is a tricky thing to describe and relate to the brain as the human body is more complex than we could
have ever thought. When it comes down to the emotions, feelings, and memories people say they have

The reader has a clear image now of the state the soldiers are in and how horrific it must have been for
them. The third line not only involves the writer in the poem but also tells the reader what they are
walking from. Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs , the word haunting is a very important
word in this line. It tells the reader that the soldiers will never forget what they have seen. I also think
Owen has used the word haunting because the word will stick in the readers mind and the poem will
haunt them just like the soldiers were haunted. On a positive note, the reader is told they are walking
away from the worst of the war. We turned our backs so they are faced away from the front line. The
forth line connects to the third line by continuing to talk about the soldiers walking back to rest. It
elaborates on line three; talking about how even though they are walking to safety it is a long way
away distant rest . Owen also uses the word trudge which is laborious walking, so not only are the
soldiers tired and have a long way to go they have a laborious walk to get back to safety. I think this
line is very important because we now know that the soldiers are walking to safety and we feel a sense
of relief for the soldiers. It also make me feel like I should cheer on the soldiers because of how strong
and brave they are, they are not only fighting for their countries but fighting for their

Divorce Effects Divorce
How Divorce Affects the Formation of Healthy Friendships and Relationships
Several factors come into play when considering the impact that a divorce has on the child s future
relationships, including age at the time of the divorce, gender, upbringing, etc. For the most part
however, there are a few crucial parts of a relationship that most divorces affect, whether the
relationship be with a friend, family member or significant other.
Parental divorce often decreases the level of trust that a child of divorce finds in a relationship.
Children whose parent s have divorced exhibit a fear of being rejected by those they become close to,
and often distrust that their friends, family members, or significant others will remain loyal and close.
This lack of trust often hampers any deepening in the relationship, and is believed to be the result of
having a dysfunctional example of a marital relationship set before them. Many children of divorce
have reportedly been less trusting of their own or a partner s fidelity, and have had difficulty in fully
committing to or choosing one person.
In addition, studies have shown that those who have had first hand experience of a divorce in their
home are 38% more likely than to go through their own divorce than those who did not. These
children suffer through weakened relationships with nearly all family members, especially those
members with whom the child does not visit frequently. Since 90% of custodial parents are mothers

Positive Effects Of Group Polarization
Due to its history as a great colonial power, as well as its geographical location, Great Britain has been
involved in numerous wars and conflicts throughout history. The British Empire, which was at is
greatest in the 16th and 17th, stretched around the globe, and as the Superpower of the time, Britain
wished to protect its interest by using the necessary means, which in many cases meant war. Also,
Great Britain being located on an island, has made the nation prone to conflict as they have had to
control the surrounding waters, enabling trade with Europe and the rest of the world. This has been
true both in the Napoleonic wars, and for more recent wars, such as World War I and II. Being

Group polarization is the tendency to make more extreme decisions than the members initial thoughts.
This phenomenon especially shows in wars because it links the parts together and contradictory
thoughts and values surfaces even more. The group polarization that occurs generally has positive
effects to the society and in this case, it greatly impacted the British society. The British people had
the same intentions, and with that in mind, the internal political controversies usually decline. Another
incident that occurred during and after World War II that shows how wars bring people together was
Winston Churchill`s desire for a united society. Churchill served as prime minister of Britain through
the World War II. He was popular among the British people and he is known for his inspirational
speeches. At the general election in 1945, the conservative party, led by Churchill, lost the election.
The result of the election was contradictory to almost all the polls and surveys done prior to the
election. More importantly, this shows how wars gather people and impact the society. Accordingly,
this shows how one can act remarkably different in groups than as

Dual Process Theory Case Study
1.2. Dual Process Theory:
In this study, I mostly adopt the two systems theory from the work of Kahneman and Tversky (1972,
1973, 1974, 1979, 1982, 1983, 2011). Firstly, we will go through some previous notable dual process
theories. Then we shall discuss more in depth Kahneman s two systems theory.
1.2.1. Previous Theories:
William James set the foundations for dual process theory. He theorized that there were two different
types of thinking, empirical thought for complex things and associative one for comparison or
abstractions. These types of thinking were later developed into the two system theory.
Evans (1984) proposed dual process theory, suggesting two distinct thought processes: heuristic and
analytic. During heuristic processes, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The runners heard this and stopped immediately to see exactly who got the record.
I ll bet you re faster than any man alive! The coach announced. I will sign you up for a race in the city

You could win yourself a lot of cash this way! Coach replied.

African Americans Allowed To Vote

America has been built on the idea that as citizens, we have the choice to decide what is the best for
our country. Millions of Americans cast their vote every election day to make sure their voices are

only 18 year old citizens are allowed to vote. However the number of 18 year olds voting is very low
and this has been an issue in the political for quite a while. The concerns and desires of most

The Lowell Offering
In the article, The Lords and The Mill Girls the author Maury Klein, explains to us the rise and fall of
women working in the factory setting. In doing so he makes the argument that democracy is
incompatible with capitalism. Over time expectations about democracy can change and many times
greed is the driving factor. The author uses quotes from a variety of people, all of which corroborate
the idea the working conditions women faced in Lowell changed from being a positive model of a
work environment in a factory setting to a dismal work environment in less than 10 years. (check the
time range). Since the quotes were from a wide demographic of individuals, they are fairly reliable
because they represent more than one view about Lowell. Klein also discussed the Lowell Offering as

The amygdala is known to learn from exposure to fear and store assessment of threat related stimuli.
The prefrontal cortex is involved in extinction and the retention of fear and is connected to the
amygdala. Finally, the hippocampus encodes the context during fear learning process and sends it to
the amygdala. People with PTSD have hyper activity in the amygdala, while having hypo activity in
the prefrontal cortex and there is reduction of the hippocampus volume. This reduction may limit
proper evaluation and categorization of the experience. A study on Vietnam soldiers revealed that
lesions in the amygdala and prefrontal cortex resulted in the absence of PTSD. To get further into the

pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis is the one that gets disrupted in people with PTSD. The hormonal system
is involved in normal stress reactions, so the disruption of this system in people with PTSD creates
this false alarm . It has been suggested by some scientist that the dysfunction of the HPA system
results in hippocampal damage in people with PTSD. Damage in the hormones is caused by damage to

Ceo Study Approach
I think the Accenture CEO study comes as a result of the increase awareness that resources in our
planet are finite. This realization comes after the development of economic theories and philosophies
that do not consider the limited amount of resources that are available to a company. I m talking about
human resources, natural resources, and physical space. All these items have become more a
constraint for companies around the world. The approach and strategy that companies take is
important to understand the effects of initiatives and where we will be as a society in the future. As I
was reading the study, I kept imagining a car driving on a highway. The car has the driver and 4
passengers. It is the responsibility of the driver to make sure the car and its passengers make it to the
destination safe and sound. The driver must ensure the car enough gas, the route is the best one, the
dangers around are avoided, and to respect all road rules. Why would the study ask the opinion of
CEOs, or the same reason why in the car we wouldn t ask a driver if we have enough gas for the trip,
or if the driver is tired, or knows the way there. It is best to ask the driver and get a straight answer.
For the same reason, it is better to ask the CEOs to know what is their strategy, what s important and
what is not. This is the best way to assess ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a CEO I would like to participate in order to impose more the commitment within the company to
keep sustainable strategies. It is an opportunity for CEOs to shape the future of strategies, to define
where a lot of companies will go. As part of this group, the individuals drive other companies to
follow the same strategies. As drivers of important companies many other leader look up to them to
follow what works, what makes them stand out, and what puts their company in the path of

Authoritative, Permissive, And Unforgiven By Raising Their...
When it comes to being a parent there are many ways a parent can raise their child or children, for
example there are four types of parenting styles which are authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and
uninvolved. The authoritative parent are characterized by having reasonable demands and high
responsiveness. Authoritative parents are strict on their children, but they are very loving, warming,
and supportive towards their children by listening to their child opinions, encouraging independence,
expressing warmth and nurturance, and encouraging their child to discuss options. (Reference: Rathus

Permissive parents are the easy going parent that usually spoil their children by never saying no to
their child or always give in to their child demand. The permissive parent generally let their child do
whatever he or she wants because this type of parenting style usually try to avoid confrontation

ever discipline their child. (Reference: Rathus S.A. (2014).Psych.GengaqeLearning) The uninvolved

How For Start A Home Based Business
In this discussion, we are going to focus on issues pertaining to how to start a home based business.
Many of the most successful businesses were actually started it in someone s home. We re all familiar
with the many fables and legends of individual starting multi billion dollar enterprises in their
basements and garages and certainly you can develop a highly successful business that is based from
home. Of course, only a small and almost infinitely small fraction of the use of home based businesses
will become as successful as the next Microsoft were Facebook, however, you can develop a
secondary income for yourself to the development of a home based business. In fact, over time, your
home based business may become your full time job. When you are starting a home based business,
the most important thing to do is to first determine what type of business at you ultimately seeking to

such, we fully recommend that you harness the power the Internet when you are starting your home
based business. However, not all home based businesses need to be based on the Internet or have a
nationwide presence. For instance, if you are very good with numbers and have a strong background
in bookkeeping, then it is very common for you to open up a part time bookkeeping practice that is

Management Team At The Fresh Connection
Introduction
Over the last several years our management team at The Fresh Connection has been working
diligently to turn around a fledgling company and improving its position in the global market and with
the stakeholders. When we inherited this task our company had an ROI of almost 13%, and there was
an extensive list of outstanding issues. From less than optimal capacity utilization to product
obsolescence, there were issues in every aspect of the supply chain that were combining to drive the
overall ROI down. Our team focused on developing an aggressive front end strategy to combat the
ROI, anticipating that change may not come as quickly as we would like. Ultimately, we believe we
have gotten to a point now where we know what our root causes are, and have found a solution that
has started to pay off.
Strategy and Impact
By far the most important decision we had to make as a team was what kind of strategy we would
implement. This included two parts, the fist being the customer facing strategy, and the second was the
internal operations strategy. We had decided that our customer strategy initially would be to sell high
profit margin products and manage lower volumes. This would start to shift to a more flexible and
adaptive strategy as our company began to understand the customer s needs. We shifted to targeting
each specific customer with the highest demand products and would eventually trim our offerings by
removing two of the products that had the lowest service

Mexico From 1876 To 1911
Question 1:
From 1876 to 1911, The regime of Porfirio Diaz ruled Mexico and he was overthrown by a popular
uprising in the end. Then a stable populist, nationalist government called Institutional Revolutionary
Party came to the stage of history with its inward looking economic policy.
This policy and social system were defended by an iron triangle of industrial oligarchs, politicians and
labor unions until the late 1970s when new oil discoveries, high price of oil and large loans from
foreign banks thrown the Mexican economy to a feverish boom.
At that time, a few financial problems occurred, meaning there was a risk that Mexico would fail to
pay on time as negligible. Within a few months, the crisis spread through most of Latin America and

Electric Cars Essay
You shower, brush your teeth, turn off the lights and plug in your...car. This seems like an estranged
concept but will be or at least should be a reality for most motorists. Electric cars are a better means of
transportation than gasoline powered cars, due to the fact that they save you money in multiple ways,
help combat global warming and boost a country s economy.
To begin with, electric cars are better for the planet. They decrease the emission of greenhouse gases
and increase air quality. Initially, the emissions free quality of EVs also stems from the design of the
motor. It is powered by a process called induction which uses electric and magnetic forces to make the
motor spin. This way there is no combustion reaction that would

Also, the state of Colorado offers $6,000 worth of tax credit for the owner of a new EV (Gorzelany). It
is said that EVs are often more expensive but considering savings made from maintenance, energy and
compensation expenses; an EV is a good investment. The two main points discussed will create an
interest and incentive to allow the following point to become reality.
At last, the point that will most likely spur people to change their mode of transportation is that EVs
help countries economies. The need for the manufacture of electric cars and the installment of a
charging infrastructure will create jobs. In response to critics who say that petrol factory will be left
jobless, that is not the case because these workers will often be the same ones who will work on EVs;
these automotive industry workers have the necessary skills to build all kinds of vehicles regardless of
a change in the drivetrain. Not only will the manufacturing require a large workforce but also the
construction, maintenance, and operation of charging stations: Recent electric vehicle penetration
brings the necessity of a high number of charging stations (YAGCITEKIN, UZUNOGLU, and
KARAKAS).
All in all, there is insurmountable evidence pointing to the idea that electric vehicles are the superior
alternative to petrol vehicles and that they should be peoples new form of transport. Car

Thematic content analysis was used in order to be able to draw conclusions from the qualitative data
from the interviews and document review (DeSantis Noel Ugarriza, 2000). Qualitative content
analysis is defined as: a research method for the subjective interpretation of the content of text data
through the systematic classification process of coding and identifying themes or patterns (Hsieh
Shannon, 2005, p.1278). This means that the data input is evaluated to search for patterns that extend
across the data and coded into categories in order to develop data interpretations (Vaismoradi,
Turunen, Bondas, 2013). For this purpose ATLAS.ti was used to analyse the qualitative data findings.
Codes were first prepared in accordance with the theoretical framework (for this framework see
Appendix B) (Braun Clarke, 2006). ATLAS.ti was used for assigning open codes as well as to create
coding memos. Codes and themes were analysed and related to theory formulation (see Appendix C
for the code book that was used in ATLAS.ti) (for a review and practical guide to using qualitative
data analysis see Hwang, 2008). For each code, an output was created. This output consists of a file in
which all the quotations of a certain code to be put one after the other, these are the passages that are
encoded from all the transcripts. This output file then gives a quick

Designing And Implementing A Technology Project Essay
Designing and implementing a technology project that spans the three different areas of the team will
take a considerable amount of time, energy, planning and resources. The system must incorporate a
balance between all areas as well as a mechanism that supports the growing demand for output of
quality product in a sufficient and efficient manner. Since all three areas (victim correspondence,
property acquisitions, and debt management) function under various rules and procedures according to
internal governance as well as Federal statutes and policies, the system must be cross functional and
multi functional as well as legally compliant. In as much, a lot of consideration is necessary when
deciding which product, software, and system to choose. For example, the current system used by the
debt management section of the Team uses an Oracle Business product that relies on dashboards to
compile, sort, and analyze data. However, the victim correspondence system uses a web based system
that relates case summary and detailed information as well as downloads and links to system and case
related inquiries and information. Legalities are also to be taken into consideration. Most available
products are legally owned by other corporations and are likely leased on long term bases. Because
these intellectual products are leased, the corporation still owns the rights to the products and full
access or manipulation or alterations to the products is a topic for discussion prior to

Manipulation In John Donne s The Flea
Manipulation at First Sight
The seductive poem The Flea by John Donne makes a more effective argument for why
the love interest should yield to his affections than the seductive poem To His Coy Mistress by
Andrew Marvell. Donne s speaker is more effectively manipulative than Marvell s, and
Marvell s speaker does not have the command of logic that Donne s speaker has.
The first and most consistent tactic used by Donne s speaker in The Flea is alternating
meter. The first line of the poem is iambic tetrameter, with a trochaic first foot to catch the
attention of the reader; the second line of the poem is iambic pentameter. The meter fluctuates
between the two for the entire poem. This alternation works to keep the lover off balance ... Show

However, Marvell s speaker s
tactic fails to acknowledge that the lover, in reaction to being reminded of the impermanence of
life, may decide to pursue other courses of action in order to enjoy what apparently little time she
has left. He cannot guarantee that she will choose to spend her time with him once he reminds
her of her inevitable death. His argument is not definite or specific enough; his proposed course
of action (sex with him) does not directly correlate with the problem he sets up for the lover (her
Conversely, Donne s speaker uses direct logic to persuade the lover to agree with him.
His argument changes as the lover s attitude changes. He directly counters all of the lover s
oppositional arguments, which gives the lover no choice but to surrender to his logic. Donne s
speaker also makes use of multiple fields of study to appeal to the lover. His scientific argument
of comingled blood draws on the lover s logical sense, and his religious argument of marriage
and holiness in the flea draws on the lover s moral sense. If neither of these strategies work,

A large portion of these dangers are an aftereffect of hacking, uncalled for employments of system assets and system gadget vulnerabilities. Familiarity with the different shortcomings and vulnerabilities is fundamental to the achievement of current systems (Kizza, 2013). • 3. Honore de Balzac and Gustave Flaubert s Writings on... Honore de Balzac and Gustave Flaubert s Writings on Capitalism The Revolution in France, during the 19th century, gave power to the people for the first time in France. French citizens now had faith that they could form a strong, independent country; but what they did not realize was that there must be some form of financial or monetary backbone present for a country to excel on its own in the modern world. This gave way to the rise of capitalism and all its follies, debaucheries, and mainly the exploitive nature it excites in people. Two authors, who were writing and observing these changes during this time in France, Honore de Balzac, and Gustave Flaubert, exemplify the demoralization of a people caused by the onslaught of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eugene s actions are exploitive because he has no regard for the well being of his family by asking for their life savings. Eugene also does not take into account how he is going to recover the sums he unethically acquires. However, capitalism s influence does not stop with Eugene in this instance. The idea of needing expensive clothes and flashy attire influences his sister Laura that she should use her sewing and clothes making skills in order to save Eugene some money, and therefore have a better chance of Parisian high society accepting him. Eugene says that his sister has become as crafty as a thief (87), which comments on the changes within her caused by the minute exposure to modern, capitalistic, ideals. However, really Laura is stealing from herself by willingly exploiting her own labor without compensation of any sort. Here, along with the ever present portrayal of Goriot s daughters bamboozling him for money, Balzac illustrates the most pathetic and demoralizing form of exploitation: when one exploits or unfairly takes advantage of their own family in a way that can lead them to starvation or even death. Pere Goriot and Eugene are not only involved with family exploitation, but they are also taking advantage of each other in hopes of gaining ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many nations in the European Union (EU) have effectively banned imports of what they refer to as Frankenfoods, a reference to the famous story of the fictional monster assembled by Dr. Frankenstein from miscellaneous spare parts. The U.S claims that the EU s anti GM food policy violates free trade laws. Many questions remain regarding the future of GM foods. Should they continue to be sold in the U.S., even though they may have unforeseen negative consequences? Or should the U.S. take a cue from the EU and limit the selling of GM foods until they are unequivocally proven to be risk free? Do the possible future health benefits of GM foods such as fruits and vegetables with extra vitamins and vaccines built into their DNA cancel out any potential risks that the new technology brings? Supporters of GM foods say that since there has been no evidence of GM foods harming humans, it is reasonable to assume that they are safe for consumption. GM food backers denounce criticism of genetic engineering as fear mongering. Besides, they argue, no new technology is without a certain degree of risk. GM food supporters believe that the possible health benefits of GM foods overwhelm any possible dangers. Supporters of biotech crops also maintain that if GM food technology is allowed to develop, it may prove to be instrumental in eliminating world hunger. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about Nationalist Ideas in the Middle East Nationality is the desire of a group of people to preserve or obtain common statehood and the ideology stressing loyalty to the nation state or seeking independence of a national group. Michel Aflaq, Theodor Herzl, and the Palestinian National Charter have fundamentally different ideas on establishing nationalism, however each movement and charter wishes to establish a national identity as well as a state due to their experiences of oppression and dispersion. Michel Aflaq describes his ideas on Arab nationalism through the Arab Baath party, which entails the establishment of an Arab state and the right to govern themselves, as well as a revivification of old Arab thought and ideology. • 6. Book Review of The Chrysalids Essays Book Review of The Chrysalids The future society depicted in The Chrysalids is still suffering the after effects of a disaster sent by God, which all but destroyed the ancient world of the Old People. The survivors called the disaster Tribulation. No one knows why it happened, but the narrator, David, attributes it to a phase of irreligious arrogance , which God, in his anger, punished. Only a few legends of the Old People remain. Centuries (millenia?) have passed, and the descendents of the Old People continue to pick up the pieces. There is no technology and David describes the world as someone in the 18th century would see it, hence the formal language, unused by people today. What most impressed me was the author s ability to set up atmosphere in the novel. I still to this day, after years between readings remember images I formed while reading the novel. Grass between the toes, the nuclear wastes, the way the children formed telepathic images etc... One thing that I remember clearly is how the novel was like a breath of fresh air, clean and smooth. There are no frilly edges and there is no attempt by the author to make the book flashy. This makes the book pure and adds to the impact of the story. As an overview, there are a group of children who are living in Eastern Canada after some type of holocaust (this is never much of a point in the book... no one has memories of it). Their society is strongly anti mutant with a very strict set of rules as to what is normal and what isn t. All of this children are normal looking but are telepathic and form a click of just a small number. The book is their story of growing up and existing in this paranoid and highly dogmatic society without being discovered and banished or killed. I really loved this book. Unfortunately, I later found out that it is the follow up to a trilogy. It was still a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Summary Of The Fatal Environment By Richard Slotkin This painting shows a Native American tribe on a snowy hill. They are watching a train pass by diagonally below them. The party appears to be travelling somewhere together. Several of the individuals are horseback riding while the others are walking. It´s looks like they are fleeing from something, almost as these people are vanishing away from reality. This Trail of Tears that they are riding/walking on was the the path that displaced North American Indian tribes from their land east of the Mississippi River to the Indian Territory, the area that later became Oklahoma. The term Trail of Tears comes from a text that describes the movement of the Cherokee, Muscogee, Seminole, Chickasaw and Choctaw Nation. Several thousands of these Indians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Slotkin illustrates the emergence by 1890 of a myth that was redefined to help Americans answer the misperception and conflict of the industrialization and grand extension. In The Fatal Environment, Richard Slotkin proves in what way the myth of frontier growth and defeat of the Native Americans helped to validate the progression of Americas final stand as a symbol for whatever Americans feared might occurred if the frontier were to be closed, and the violent part be allowable to rule the civilized, Slotkin displays the rise by 1890 of a fable redefined to support Americans answer to the misunderstanding and contention of industrialization and grand extension. Sweeney is comparing The Fatal Environment to The Morning of a New Day. He argues that the reason why Farny s Morning of a New Day attract few imitators is because of the ambivalent image of the fatal environment within it. The fact that it represents the genocide of the Native American tribes was the result the dominant bourgeois group s belief in its self proclaimed manifest destiny to take the West from the Native Americans by military conquest, through technological and entrepreneurial superiority, or if necessary by outright theft. Canadian railway milestones to 1978 turning point in Canada s history occurred in 1836, when the first public train commenced running between Saint Jean sur Richelieu and La Prairie near Montréal. Construction of the transcontinental railway spurred the birth of Canada; in fact, all of North America was undergoing vicissitude in the 19th century. Factories and industries sprang up in cities such as Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver. The event triggered an extraordinary boom in every dimension of Canada s magnification. Where did the Chinese workers emanate from?Railroad workers recruited by labor contractors came mostly from Guangdong (Canton) province, especially Siyi (四邑Sze Yap, denoting four counties: Taishan台山, Kaiping开平, Xinhui新会 and Enping恩平). Without them it would be infeasible to consummate the western portion of this great national enterprise, within the time required by the Acts of Congress. Soon the Chinese labor pool from California was exhausted, and the Central Pacific arranged with labor contractors to import sizably voluminous numbers of Chinese workers directly from China. The railroad did not list most individual Chinese workers by name in their payroll records, and instead listed headmen of work crews or labor contractors who distributed pay to the individuals on the crew. However, Chinese workers worked longer hours and had to pay their headmen or contractors for their own lodging and pabulum and even for their implements; on the other hand, the Central Pacific and Coalescence Pacific provided white workers accommodations, aliment, and implements without adscititious cost. Global Public Policy Is Made By State And Non State Actors Global public issues such as global climate change, international financial market, illicit international trade, cross border migration, internet governance and cyber war, nuclear proliferation, global public drug and etc cause a need of global public policy. Basically global public policy has been designed in order to achieve desired goals in global public challenges. Global public policy is made by state and non state actors. In classical political science only the states were recognized as a significant actors in public policy and international policies were made between states( Wimmer and Schiller,2002), while in the recent decades non state actors play important role in global governance(Whitman, 2009,87). For instance, UN, UNDP, UNIDO are central in the global public sphere (Kaul 2003). Global public policy activities take place among non state actors and intergovernmental counterpart in global agora (Stone, 2008, 5 8).Global public policy needs to be made in global agora. Previously, global agora was a place for social, economical, political and cultural interaction of states and non states members. However, today global agora is evolving with various set of networks , global public and private partnership and multilateral initiatives global agora is managed by business and policy elites(Stone, 2008, 10). Although studies have shown that in recent research of the heart they have found little details on how they have discovered little neutrons and protons and nerve cells that can relate to the brain making it more believable that the heart is much more than just another organ. The heart does not only just pump blood but they also think the heart can transplant memories from the donor s past experiences. The symbolism of the heart is a tricky thing to describe and relate to the brain as the human body is more complex than we could have ever thought. Compare and contrast the two poems Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen and The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. The two poems Dulce Et Decorum Est and The Charge of the Light Brigade were both written during in a war. Dulce Et Decorum Est was written October 1917 during world war one (WW1). The earliest surviving manuscript is the letter he sent it to his Mother, Susan Owen, with the message Here is a gas poem done yesterday, (which is not private, but not final) . Wilfred Owens poetry was one of the most famous poets for the First World War. He was born in 1893 and died 1918 one week before the end of WW1. The reader has a clear image now of the state the soldiers are in and how horrific it must have been for them. The third line not only involves the writer in the poem but also tells the reader what they are walking from. Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs , the word haunting is a very important word in this line. It tells the reader that the soldiers will never forget what they have seen. I also think Owen has used the word haunting because the word will stick in the readers mind and the poem will haunt them just like the soldiers were haunted. On a positive note, the reader is told they are walking away from the worst of the war. We turned our backs so they are faced away from the front line. The forth line connects to the third line by continuing to talk about the soldiers walking back to rest. It elaborates on line three; talking about how even though they are walking to safety it is a long way away distant rest . Owen also uses the word trudge which is laborious walking, so not only are the soldiers tired and have a long way to go they have a laborious walk to get back to safety. • 13. Divorce Effects Divorce How Divorce Affects the Formation of Healthy Friendships and Relationships Several factors come into play when considering the impact that a divorce has on the child s future relationships, including age at the time of the divorce, gender, upbringing, etc. For the most part however, there are a few crucial parts of a relationship that most divorces affect, whether the relationship be with a friend, family member or significant other. Parental divorce often decreases the level of trust that a child of divorce finds in a relationship. Children whose parent s have divorced exhibit a fear of being rejected by those they become close to, and often distrust that their friends, family members, or significant others will remain loyal and close. This lack of trust often hampers any deepening in the relationship, and is believed to be the result of having a dysfunctional example of a marital relationship set before them. Many children of divorce have reportedly been less trusting of their own or a partner s fidelity, and have had difficulty in fully committing to or choosing one person. In addition, studies have shown that those who have had first hand experience of a divorce in their home are 38% more likely than to go through their own divorce than those who did not. These children suffer through weakened relationships with nearly all family members, especially those members with whom the child does not visit frequently. The British Empire, which was at is greatest in the 16th and 17th, stretched around the globe, and as the Superpower of the time, Britain wished to protect its interest by using the necessary means, which in many cases meant war. Also, Great Britain being located on an island, has made the nation prone to conflict as they have had to control the surrounding waters, enabling trade with Europe and the rest of the world. The British people had the same intentions, and with that in mind, the internal political controversies usually decline. Another incident that occurred during and after World War II that shows how wars bring people together was Winston Churchill`s desire for a united society. Churchill served as prime minister of Britain through the World War II. He was popular among the British people and he is known for his inspirational speeches. At the general election in 1945, the conservative party, led by Churchill, lost the election. Firstly, we will go through some previous notable dual process theories. Then we shall discuss more in depth Kahneman s two systems theory. 1.2.1. Previous Theories: William James set the foundations for dual process theory. He theorized that there were two different types of thinking, empirical thought for complex things and associative one for comparison or abstractions. These types of thinking were later developed into the two system theory. Evans (1984) proposed dual process theory, suggesting two distinct thought processes: heuristic and analytic.
