2. Nt1310 Unit 2 Research
When it comes to smartphones, people make choice which smartphones is suitable for them and,
sometimes people look at who gives more feature. In this project, the populations is representing are
Population 1 which is all iPhone users in Montclair State University and, Population 2 is all Samsung
users in Montclair State University. The quantitative variable I will using is cost. I will compare this
two major population iPhone vs. Samsung. Also, the I will use this variable cost because I will be
comparing iPhone models like five se, six s, six s plus, seven and, seven plus to Samsung s six, s six
edge, s seven edge, note five and note seven. This data will show; how much people spend money on
this device.
When I started to look and gather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The median for both histograms and box plots show that the median is 749 dollars for iPhone user and
729.99 dollars for Samsung users. This shows the difference relationship between two users. People
who using iPhone pay extra 20 dollars for phone, where Samsung users pay less but, for different
models. Based on visualizng histograms I think there are more Samsung users than iPhone because
Maximum for Samsung is 849.99 dollars.
The data that I have is accurate because by looking at the histogram the graphs are perfectly skewed
and, the data make sense, if I compare the data to the median and the IQR. And to find IQR subtract
Quartile 3 from Quartile 1. The purpose of using mean value to see if the graph is symmetric or not
but, in my case I do not have symmetrical graph or Boxplot, because it is sensitive to outliers. I choose
to use the IQR instead of the standard deviation because it shows what is below the 1st quartile and
above the 3rd quartile. To summarize, median and IQR are the best option because they resistant to
outliers.
In resolution, the distribution of the data shows that iPhone users have lower cost to Samsung Users
because the differences between to users is

3. Buber And Arendt Approaches To Zionism
In my paper, I will be compared Buber and Arendt s approaches to Zionism. Although they both have
the same humanist perspective on Zionism, their approaches in their discussion of Zionism is
exceedingly different. Therefore, although both Buber and Arendt recognize the importance of
incorporating the Palestinians in the process of the creation of a Jewish state, Buber has a more
optimistic view than Arendt. However, both Buber and Arendt are critical of nationalism and
imperialist power s influence in the creation of the Jewish homeland. Accordingly, this paper will
assess both Buber and Arendt s views of Zionism and focus on their views of nationalism and the
influence of outside powers.
One thing that I believe is important is each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Buber and Arendt recognize that nationalism played a vital role in the creation of the conflict.
Buber recognized the rise of nationalism in Zionism and referred to as unambiguous demarcation of a
kind, a degenerated kind of nationalism which of late has begun to spread even in Judaism. (Buber 48)
Arendt and Buber were both concerned that Zionist movement would become exclusive and
unappealing. Buber stressed the importance of including the Arabs in the dialogue and not making
Zionism a repressive nationalistic ideology. Like Buber, Arendt was critical of the rise of nationalism
which undermined the original goals of Zionism. Buber was concerned that the nationalist
development would become a permanent fixture and would led to a downfall dyed in the colors of
nationalism. (Buber 52) Therefore, both authors were disappointed with the direction that Zionism
was going. Buber and Arendt s humanist Zionist view led them to hope for peace and cooperation and
dialogue between the Jews and Arabs.
Arendt recognized the dangers of nationalism that necessarily and admittedly depends upon the force
of foreign nation is certainly worse. (Arendt 344) A major issue is that asking outside powers such as
the British to create a Jewish homeland led to Balkanization in the region. Therefore, Arendt stresses
the importance of having an understanding that takes into account the whole region and it s needs of
all the peoples. (Arendt 345) Moreover, Arendt

4. How Does Jay Asher Use Suicide In Thirteen Reasons Why
Jay Asher, while writing the novel Thirteen Reasons Why utilized suicide to connect with readers and
write the novel on a personal level.Suicide intimately affects on average 6 people (11 Facts About...).
Clay thought, No, I can t believe it. Hannah Baker killed herself. (Asher 7). Most people know
someone who killed themselves, like Clay knew Hannah and Jay Asher s relative attempted suicide.
Jay Asher also used suicide to give people a kind of closure with suicide since most people who knew
someone who committed suicide do not understand their reasons for killing themselves. Hannah stated

Twenty five to thirty percent of people who commit suicide leave a note for example, the late Robin
Williams didn t leave a suicide note.( Suicide Note ). Hannah left thirteen tapes as a audio version of
her suicide note, only for people who she believes harmed her. The evidence stated relates to the topic
sentence as Hannah did what she didn t want to do, she left no suicide note thinking that her parents
would hear her thirteen reasons, but without a link to her parents, it s like she didn t leave a note at all.
Some reasons people leave suicide is To Increase the pain of survivors by attempting to create guilt (
Suicide Note ). Hannah said. I just looked over every name every story that completes these tapes.
And guess what. Every single event documented here may never have happened had you, Alex, not
written my name on that list. It s that simple (Asher 41). Hannah was trying to install guilt in Alex
when she wrote that part of the suicide note. Another reason people write suicide notes is To set out
the reasons for suicide ( Suicide Note ). Hannah used her audio version of her suicide note to do this
exact thing. People write suicide notes to express thoughts and feelings they believed they could not
say in life, like in the case of Eduardo Chibas who killed himself on air to protest the communist

5. Strategies For Preventing Guns From The Streets Of New Haven
For years, people in New Haven have been brainstorming strategies to help prevent gun violence in
the communities. With the identifying the factors contributing to gun violence, community organizers
have come up with strategies that are specifically related to them. The main priority is to completely
remove guns from the streets of New Haven. Right now, there are two gun buy back programs in New
Haven that are lead by Yale New haven Hospital and the New Haven Police Department (City Wide).
The purpose of this program is for people to turn in un registered guns and receive money in return.
Some argue that the gun buy back program does not prevent gun violence because they are taking
guns from law abiding citizens who would never use them in a crime and do not reach those who are
likely to use them in a crime (Cameron). In New Haven, guns in the streets travel from people to
people and at some point, it can fall into the hands of a person who is anticipating on shooting
someone. That is all that it takes. One of the most successful gun buy back programs held in new
Haven was August 6, 2016. That day, The New Haven Police Department was able to retrieve one
hundred and twenty seven operable firearms. They took in eighty five handguns, thirty eight rifles and
shotguns and four assault weapons (Wilkins). In the past five years, the New Haven Police
Department has collected over five hundred guns from the gun buy back programs. Going along with
the strategy to remove guns off of

6. Trivium Student Analysis
Citizens and parents all over the nation continue to ponder why our youth fail to stand on their own
two feet upon graduation from high school. Is the current education system adequate or is there
another choice? The current progressive education system caters to the individual need of the student
in preparation for a career of their choosing, but it fails to develop student s ability to identify the
difference between truthful and erroneous information. Students do not possess the critical apparatus
with which to intellectually evaluate what their sense are receiving. They cannot discern between good
and evil; only between pleasant and unpleasant sensory perceptions (Bluedorn). Therefore, most
students will go with what feels right, being led around by their emotions, rather than choosing to
logically calculate the information in order to determine the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although many public educators continue to be effective in teaching our youth the basics to get into
college the current education system fails to help shape our youth into mature adults. The classical
education method provides the same level of education as the current school system while also
developing students into mature adults. Through the trivium student begin their studies at elementary
age with the saturation of facts as they progress through the grammar stage. Following the grammar
stage the middle school student s enter into the dialectic stage which engages abstract thought. Finally
students will find fulfillment in their academic studies as they master the rhetoric stage. Completing
the trivium the young adult has acquired many new skills from the benefit of a classical education.
Educators and parents should consider an alternate method of educating children by utilizing the
classical education method, which has been historically proven, utilizing the trivium students will be
not only mature, disciplined citizens, but formally educated in all subjects to prepare them for life, not

7. Some Theorists Believe Cinema Must Be Realistic And May
Some theorists believe cinema must be realistic and may only be seen as art if it remains in its original
form a static image on film stock. Others, however, argue that cinema is an important and relevant art
medium no matter its form. Digital cinema, while making use of new and different technologies such
as animation, is the next step in the evolution of film. Contrary to what certain theorists believe, it is
the most efficient and most artistically inclined way to create films as it offers a world of possibilities.
This is elaborated on in Digital Cinema and the History of a Moving Image, an excerpt from What Is
Cinema? the sixth chapter of The Language of New Cinema, a book penned by Lev Manovich.
Indeed, the author describes how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This mobility was acquired thanks to pre cinematic creations such as the Zootrope. What followed
was the debut of cinema as a moving image on film stock. This prompted documentary style short
films, such as L Arrivée d un train en gare à la Ciotat by Auguste and Louis Lumière, as well as, later
on, fictional feature films, like Charlie Chaplin s Modern Times. However, by mid 2011, 50 per cent
of the more than 39,500 North American screens had become digital. [And, in] the United States, the
major distributors have announced that they will cease to distribute films on 35mm film by the end of
2013. Thus, certain directors such as James Cameron and George Lucas are advocates for fully
digitally shot films. As a matter of fact, in 1984, George Lucas developed EditDroid and SoundDroid,
computerized, electronic non linear editing systems for image and sound. Furthermore, cinema has
evolved in terms of animation as well. In fact, the types of animation that are currently in use are so
entirely different than the kinds filmmakers had to use in the past. For example, while Meliès was
required to hand paint each and every single one of his film s frames for Le Voyage dans la Lune,
James Cameron s Avatar was able to make use of digital technologies in order to make the film 3D as
well as to turn human actors into the aliens featured in the film. Nevertheless, this new technological
development

8. Masculine Portrayals In The Roaring Girl And Tamburlaine
Toxic Masculine Portrayals in The Roaring Girl and Tamburlaine The portrayals of men in
Renaissance literature and plays is wrought with various aspects of toxic masculinity. Masculinity in
works such as Tamburlaine the Great or The Roaring Girl is shown in different ways and with varying
degrees of spectacle. Tamburlaine displays his masculinity through hyper violent acts and high
degrees of spectacle, whereas characters such as Laxton and Dapper flaunt their masculinity in
different, less violently spectacular means, however, they still participate in embodying the toxic
masculine ideal. Understanding masculinity and how it is defined at the time is important to grasping
why the portrayals of it in various works involve the aspects that they do. Masculinity as it exists now
is a fluid concept, yet in the past leading up the Renaissance it was treated as a rigid set of rules that
men must uphold to be perceived as masculine and in turn make headway in a patriarchal society.
Ideas about masculinity and femininity are beginning to be questioned more during the Renaissance in
interesting ways, especially when these ideas are presented in the world of the theatre. Men in this
time period are expected to be the backbone of their households and held up as a woman s closet tie to
God, right below their clergymen. These expectations come with backlash. With the expectation of
men to be the protectors and providers of their households and out in the world at large, violence,

9. Receptor Proteins
A cell is the smallest basic functional unit of a living organism. The cell is composed of organelles that
help the cell perform its specialized function. Every cell contains a cell membrane and a cytoplasm,
the material that is within the cell but does not include the organelles. The cell membrane is a semi
permeable structure with 2 layers of phospholipids containing embedded proteins. The role of this
fluid mosaic model is to monitor the exchange of substances, separate the cytoplasm from the external
environment, form a communication between other cells, and act as an identification that protects the
cell from unidentifiable substances. Also known as fats, the phospholipids creates a barrier between
the layers because they consist of a nonpolar hydrophobic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For cell communication, the cell membrane has signaling molecules called glycolipids, lipids that
have a carbohydrate and are bonded by a glycosidic bond. There are different proteins that belong in
the phospholipid bilayer and each of them have a function. Channel proteins are designed to allow
diffusion of molecules through small openings. Carrier proteins have binding sites and work by
targeting specific molecules to allow for passage through gate channels. Receptor proteins triggers a
release of molecules that stimulate cellular responses, for example the release of hormones through the
synaptic cleft. Proteins that use tags to identify cells to the immune system are known as cell
recognition proteins. Proteins also include enzymes and they perform metabolic reactions in the body.
The transport across the membrane allow for particles with no charge or small ones to pass through,
such as carbon dioxide. However, water cannot pass through easily across and needs the assistance of
an aquaporin, a channel protein, to move through the bilayer. There are two types of transport: passive
and active

10. Ethanol Vs. Ethanol Free Fuel Essay
Ethanol is now found in most gasolines, except for the few and far between pumps that sell ethanol
free fuel. Ethanol acts as a filler in gasoline, because it is much cheaper than many gasoline
components, however it comes at a price because ethanol infused gasoline procures about 33% less
energy than ethanol free gasoline, dropping its competitiveness towards diesel even more. (Energy,
2015) Ethanol gasoline types include E10, E15, and E85. E10 represents gasoline with a 10% ethanol
content, which is the norm now for most gasoline types, and what will mostly likely be in normal
unleaded gasoline. E15, 15% ethanol, can only be used in flex fuel or light duty cars because it
produces not nearly enough power to run a large gasoline engine without major modifications.
(Energy, 2015) E85, meaning that it is composed of 85% ethanol gasoline mixture (51 83% ethanol),
and can only be used by special flex fuel cars designed to run off high ethanol content fuel. (Energy,
2015)
Gasoline continues to show an inferiority to diesel fuel in every category except for price, or so it
seems. The average price of gasoline as of now is under two dollars for the first time in 6 years.
(Energy, 2016) Gasoline usually is about 15 25 cents per gallon cheaper than diesel. For large trucks
with a 30 gallon tank, this can be a large difference in price that naturally make people wary of
purchasing a diesel vehicle. And with this natural disinclination towards diesel fuel, the world has
shied away

13. Women s Roles And Gender Stereotypes Essay
Women s Roles
The Simpsons is a TV show that airs on the Fox network. During the fifth season, in an episode called
Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy, Lisa challenges the makers of the Malibu Stacy doll to create a less sexist doll.
The original creator of Malibu Stacy teams up with Lisa to create Lisa Lionheart to create a positive
influence for young girls. This episode raised a lot of questions regarding gender roles and
stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are prominent in today s life style. Per gender stereotypes, girls like
princesses and boys like cars. These gender roles, however, do not just apply to children. These roles
are still very prominent in grown up society. The pay gap between men and women Gender roles are a
big part of humankind society.
There is insurmountable evidence that points to the idea that gender stereotypes is largely
accomplished through social factors. Scholars in both sociological and psychological fields believe
that gender is constructed through the modeling of appropriate behaviors and the use of systematic
rewards and punishments. Evidence also shows that many aspects of gender are not innate, as
evidenced by children who do not exhibit a gender specific preference in friends, clothing or toys
when placed in gender neutral settings. Only after negative reactions from parents, teachers, or friends
do many children begin to take on the gender roles society comes to see as appropriate for them.

When Robert Horton left his position as Chairman and CEO of BP, the company was in financial

most of the employees had no idea what the company mission and goals were. When David Simon
took over as CEO, he was faced with the daunting task of turning the wayward company around.
Simon accomplished this task for three reasons: he diagnosed and modified the organizational culture;
he possessed important leadership skills; and he knew how to motivate employees.

The drive Simon possessed was magnified through his years of school and his progression through the
company. The case illustrates Simon s drive with the story of him being told by a teacher that he
should go into industry. She was implying he was not an intellectual but this criticism only fueled his
drive. These are just a few of the characteristics Simon possessed in addition to being a good
communicator and being able to inspire trust.
In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to motivate
his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was the
ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon set simple
goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their progress. Not only
was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped reward the employees in
timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to achieve as he was described
as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without them really knowing he is
doing it (Davidson).
All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite employees
and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of BP and in
time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP, his approach
was not without flaw. One

Although all the unfortunate natural events that made this tragedy possible, the supervision of the
event was almost as bad as the hurricane itself. There are many fingers to point at the different people
handling the situation but one this is clear, it was not handled properly. The blame all fell on a select
few individuals ranging from The President of the United States of America to the Mayor of New
Orleans. Kathleen Blanco, a former schoolteacher and two term Lt. Governor of Louisiana, elected
governor in January 2004 and who was in charge of Louisiana s response when Hurricane Katrina

I wanted to say, sorry, wrong door, I was just looking for the restroom. But I forced myself to take a

The Mage wasn t alive. He was some kind of gruesome receptacle for something else, the power that

In reality some of it upset me a little because there are a lot more theories driven by human greed than
by love. Ideally I hope to be altruistic in my actions in a means to provide a model for my children. I
hope to do this not so I can reap the benefits, in fact I hope that my children do not have to spend a
day of their lives taking care of me or my wife. Rather I want them to provide those services to people
who either have no other means of support or who?s children are driven by the greed aspects.
Noticeable I was a bit sarcastic, but that is because I tried to find some humor in the morbidity of
some of these theories. As too the idea mentioned in one area where people with means tend to

cover a greater number. This reminded me of a film where the smart people were procreating less
often and the not so smart people were avid breeders, in the movie there was critical point where the
not so smart people greatly outnumbered the smart people. This point was when major societal
problems began, all on account of democracy where majority rules, the not so smart people ended up

21. Acute Bronchitis And Common Respiratory Disease
Acute bronchitis is one of the most common diagnoses encountered in a primary care setting. It affects
millions of individuals resulting in significant impact on health of patients and health care industry.
Studies have shown that 90% of times acute bronchitis is caused by a virus, yet health care providers
are failing to treat or manage these patients with appropriate therapies (Knutson Braun, 2002). The
focus of this paper is to review the guidelines for treatment of acute bronchitis after differentiating
acute bronchitis from other common respiratory disease in terms of epidemiology, pathophysiology,
clinical features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, complications and patient education. Understanding
the evaluation and treatment guidelines, nurse practitioners can provide evidence based practice for
patients with acute bronchitis. Epidemiology and significance of the problem Acute bronchitis is one
of the five top reasons to seek medical care in the United States. The incidence of acute bronchitis is
typically higher in fall and winter season, accounting for 82% of the cases (Fayyaz, 2014). It affects
full spectrum of population including any age group, gender and demographics. The incidence of
acute bronchitis accounts for 36 million office visits annually (Blush, 2013). Although it can be seen
in variety of patients, children tend to get acute bronchitis as many 6 times a year where as adults
acquire about two to four on average every year (Blush, 2013). These

Along with holding more water, an American Engine can pump 1750 gallons of water per minute
while in Europe, they may need up to four trucks to keep up with the American. To get water to the
truck from the fire hydrant the Americans use five inch diameter hose which can get a lot of water to
the truck quickly. The Europeans can only carry three inch hose which gets less water to the truck. The
Americans have their hoses pre laided and pre connected on the truck so when they get to a fire, all
they do is grab the hose and go. Europeans have their hose stored in compartments on the truck; they
have to connect the hose at the scene of the fire which could take valuable time for putting out the fire.

How are you in this class? I m sorry, but I ll have to drop you from this course the Statistics professor
informed me. This was upon finding out that I was registered for another math class which was a
prerequisite for the Statistics course. That was my first day of what would turn out to be a lengthy
college career. Looking back the question held deeper meaning than I initially thought. My reasons for
taking that course and others was due to following friends and feelings of obligation to attend college.

The opportunity allowed me to work and travel, to break away from the stagnation I was seeing in my
friends lives as well as my own. The work, privately contracted security, allowed me to earn a
substantial income while travelling to different parts of the world. This required me to be away from
home usually for a period of six to nine months. In off months I would return to Florida, where I
would enroll in online courses to pass the time. I found the work at your own pace greatly appealing,
hoping the greater flexibility would be favorable. While I did manage to find some success, I ended up
at the same pitfalls. Still devoid of a reason, trying to force my way in fulfilling an obligation. For me
the contract work was always a means to an end. It provided the ability to solve a problem I d come to
understand over the years as I grew older and wiser. I had no sense of self, no real perspective to call
my own. I was in my mid twenties with no long term goals in life. It was time to make a change,
something drastic that would allow me to break away from the distractions and pitfalls. In September
of 2013, I packed up and moved to Seattle, Washington. To this day, I get odd looks when I tell people

reality, I chose Seattle for a clean slate and to immerse myself in a technology rich environment.

The skill sets, organizational hierarchies, reward systems and employment structures pertinent to the
film industry, fashion industry or repertory theatre are often as different as all cultural industries are to

Cultural Industries (sometimes also known as creative industries ) combine the creation, production,
and distribution of goods and services that are cultural in nature and usually protected by intellectual
property rights (GATT 2005). In recent years the creative industry has become an obsession with
journalists therefore gaining a lot of attention. Workers and more over ‘creative workers are

(Lawrence and Philip 2002). David Beckham currently has his own Police sunglasses that people buy
as they are associated with him. For marketers this seems appropriate to their beliefs that with the
correct marketing mix a meaning can be put across to the target market that will increase sales. This
argument tries to get across that creative industries are not just restricted to film industry, fashion or
theatre. This approach does also have its critics though, Thompson et al (2007) says that even if these
products are sold through direct or indirect interpretations it fails to recognize these products still need
to be produced. Take for example the Adidas running shoe that came back as a premium priced retro
shoe that is now fashionable. However it does not appreciate that the product still had to be made by
real workers in real factories, they still need traditional skill sets and employment structures. People at
Adidas did have the creative freedom to think of the new retro comeback but this is a very small part
of the company. So yes creative economies are expanding but not at a fast enough rate to be a leading
economy in any way.
So it is clear that we do not have a significant cultural economy as a product needs to be

27. Examples Of Normative Relativism
Normal Relativism
Tyger Thompson
In a very multicultural world, philosophers have tried to come up with ways to solve the inevitable
moral conflicts that arise due to cultural differences. These moral conflicts between cultures arise
because diverse cultures have different standards for what they believe to be morally correct. One such
theory is known as relativism. The theory of relativism states that morality is relative. This theory has
certain appeals. There is much diversity in moral belief, and many people believe that tolerance is
important. However, this can run into problems when held to the strict version.
There are different versions of relativism, with the version most important to philosophers being
normative relativism. Its premises are as follows:
A believes B is morally correct.
Therefore, B is morally correct for A. (Rachels, 2015)
Normative relativists have come up with several reasons to defend their theory, and there have been
many objections, some of them being rather damning. One defence is known as the argument from
moral disagreement. Normal relativists argue that since there are many disagreements between
societies and cultures about what is morally correct, and therefore conclude that there is no objective
universal standard for morality, and thus morality is completely relative. Thus, the ... Show more

For example, a certain culture believes that murdering infants is acceptable. The normative relativist
position would entail accepting this as morally correct for that culture, although common sense would
lead us to disagree wholeheartedly. This leads us to question where the boundaries of a culture lie, as
there is clearly a basic universal moral standard that should never be acceptable in any culture
regardless. Normative relativism disregards this potential universal moral code, which can lead to
some absurd results, such as the example of infanticide. (Southern Illinois University ,

It is quite revealing that the consequences of prenatal alcohol exposure do not end with the pregnancy.
The long term effects are even more devastating. Many who are affected by the syndrome go on to

their own, there is no stability because of their social and emotional immaturity. To stop this vicious
cycle from continuing, every healthcare worker should pledge to intervene in any manner possible,
