Jobs Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of jobs presents a unique set of challenges that may seem
deceptively simple at first glance. While the subject matter itself is broad and relatable, the
difficulty lies in striking the right balance between personal insights, statistical data, and broader
societal implications. The challenge is to weave together a cohesive narrative that not only delves
into the intricacies of various job sectors but also addresses the evolving nature of work in the
contemporary world.
One hurdle is navigating the vast amount of information available. The job landscape is dynamic,
influenced by technological advancements, economic shifts, and societal changes. This requires
the writer to stay updated with current trends, statistics, and expert opinions. Selecting relevant
and impactful data while discarding the irrelevant becomes a critical skill.
Moreover, the essay should not merely be a compilation of facts but a thoughtful exploration of
the multifaceted aspects of jobs. Balancing personal anecdotes, if appropriate, with broader
trends demands a nuanced approach. The task is to provide a comprehensive understanding
without succumbing to information overload or losing the reader's interest.
Addressing the diverse perspectives on jobs adds another layer of complexity. What might be a
rewarding career for one person could be a source of frustration for another. Acknowledging this
subjectivity while maintaining an objective tone is a tightrope walk. The essay should reflect a
nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities across different professions and
industries.
Furthermore, discussing the future of jobs introduces an element of speculation. Predicting the
trajectory of employment trends requires a careful examination of emerging technologies, global
economic shifts, and societal expectations. Striking a balance between realistic projections and
avoiding baseless conjecture is crucial to maintaining the essay's credibility.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on jobs demands a delicate blend of research, empathy, and
analytical prowess. It involves delving into a dynamic and multifaceted topic while maintaining
a coherent narrative. The challenge lies in staying current, balancing diverse perspectives, and
providing meaningful insights that resonate with a broad audience.

Aldo Leopold The Land Pyramid
In his essay titled The Land Ethic, Aldo Leopold argues that humans should extend
ethical behaviors to the natural environment or in other words, the land. The author
points out that, thus far, humans have only acted ethically towards one another.
However, he believes that it is time for humans also to start to treat the environment
with the same respect and dignity that we have for the members of our own species.
The author states that he is aware that we cannot entirely prevent utilizing natureas a
resource and a commodity. Nonetheless, he concludes that humans should have the
responsibility to take care of the environment and to assure its continued existence.
Leopold does not believe that humans are the inferior species, the conquerors of
the land as he puts it. Instead, he argues, humans are just plain citizens who simply
share the planet with millions of other species and who are a part of an intricate
and sophisticated system that makes life possible for all living beings.
Nonetheless, he believes that in order for people to realize this, and for them to
recognize nature as valuable and worth loving, they must be able to envision it as a
tangible object. To make this possible, Leopold creates the idea of The Land
Pyramid, whose purpose is to create a mental image of the environment as a complex
biotic mechanism. The food pyramid is comprised of many layers. The bottom layer
is the widest because it represents the species that are most abundant such as
Neighbors By J Cole Analysis
The song Neighbors by J cole is a song about how he feels people in the world
today view the black community and how they are treated by authority and civilians.
One of the lines that he raps is Travon kind of fate, this line obviously referring to
the death of Trayvon Martin; the young black boy viciously murdered by a white
man. Another line that hits home with a lot of his fans is the line, cops bustin down
the door with army guns no evidence of the harm we done, this line referring to the
treatment of blacks throughout the country by police officers. I feel that this song
really speaks out about the current situation we are dealing with in this country with
lingering racism and inequality. The Montgomery Bus Boycott starter in 1964

Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all
track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you
want to learn more? History engages me like no other subject. History is unrivaled
in complexity and depth compared to other areas of study, but many do not realize
this because we choose to gloss over the vast majority, reducing entire sagas into
little more than a footnote on a single page. The American revolution, while
celebrated in the US, is little more than a paragraph in European history,
overlooked because of the more relevant Napoleonic era. My passion for learning
encourages me to read into these footnotes and discover the lessons and ideas that
are ignored by the common curriculum. History intrigues me because, unlike other
branches of education, it tells a story. The problem with telling a story is that over
time, certain events are altered or omitted by those in power to suit their needs. I
was once told that History is written by the victors. This includes not just the winners
in war, but the political victors, champions of power, and the wealthy patronage of
scoundrels seeking to whitewash their history of shame and corruption. History
books, therefore rarely tell the whole story. An example could be when a noble, who

Importance Of Measuring Meridian Arcs Essay
The completion of the survey of a great chain of first order triangulation s along the
arc of the 30th meridian of east longitude, from South Africa to Egypt, is considered
one of the most exceptional surveying feats to ever be executed in Africa and thus its
history has interested geodetic surveyors throughout the world. This paper aims to
expatiate on the importance of measuring meridian arcs, the need to establish a
geodetic survey in a country or continent and subsequently will recount the sequence
of events that led to the 75 year length completion of the African arc.
The size and shape of the Earth have been of interest to man since the earliest of
times, dating as far back to Eratosthenes in the third century. Throughout the years
during the 18th and 19th century, geodesists were pre occupied with the task of
devising a more accurate determination of the size and shape of the Earth. This led to
the observing of necessary triangulations along arcs to determine the radius of the
Earth and its degree of flattening (MacDonald, 2000). The African arc, conceived by
Sir David Gill, Her Majesty s Astronomer at Cape Town, was created with the
understanding that it would contribute immensely to the better knowledge of the
form and dimensions on the Earth (Smith, 2006) therefore adding value to the
advancement of geodesy. However, besides the need to determine more accurate
dimensions for the Earth (Hendriks, 1955), there was a pressing need to establish a

Another theme of the novel, we can say, is the nexus between the terrorists and the
criminals. The terrorists rely on the criminal organization to achieve their monstrous
and evil designs. We have also seen another side of the terrorists in which sacred and
spiritual fundamentalists have used their religion for personal gain; a view that hasn t
been surveyed in Western composition and literature. The author has kept South
Asian people in his mind when putting together the plot as the corruption and lack of
education is famous in South Asia. The people in the subcontinent are not well
educated and don t understand the system of the government due to which the whole
sub continent has brimmed over with corruption. The criminals are now increasing
day by day as the illiterate people are joining the criminal organizations for the sake
of money. Only the military is working hard to fight and eliminate terrorists. The
involvement of the foreign nations in the country politics has destroyed the country.
The foreign nations have drones which are playing a vital role in destroying the
society. The terrorists are increasing because of the poverty and illiteracy. The writer
has also focused on oppression of the government. He has explained that everything
is controlled by the government now days and the people aren t in their control now.

Galileo s Accomplishments
All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover
them. Galileo.
A mathematician, a physicist, a philosopher, an astronomer Galileo Galilei. Known
for many thing, he is known for the creation of the optical telescope, discovered the
primary moons of Jupiter, and last but not least defending the idea several years
after Kepler calculated the path of planets (Redd, 2012). Galileo has done many
positive things for the world , and his knowledge lives on through astronomy studies
all around the globe.

The Holocaust Medical Experiments
Kamree Drummond Mr. Buchanan World History Honors 3rd Block March 27,
2017 Medical Experiments of the Holocaust During World War II, there were
many acts of cruelty done towards people seen as unsuitable or worthless to the
Nazis. These people included Jew, homosexuals, gypsies, and the handicapped. In
this paper, I m going to describe the medical experiments that were performed on
inmates by Nazi doctors during the Holocaust. These experiments include: the twin
experiments, the freezing experiments, the seawater experiments, and the bone
grafting and nerve experiments. One of the main experiments the nazis performed
on the prisoners in the concentration camps had the purpose of wanting to find a
way to treat a person who was severely cold or frozen, thus began the freezing
experiments. These experiments were mostly used to benefit German Air Force.
The freezing experiments were mainly held at the Dachau concentration camp. The
Dachau camp was mainly built for political prisoners of war. Approximately
188,000 people lived there, and 31,951 were said to have been executed there.
Dachau was active for almost all of the 12 year Nazi regime, making it one of the
longest running camps. The freezing experiments at Dachau took place in August
1942. One of the most common of the experiments involved forcing the prisoners to

German Air Force and Navy. They wanted to discover how severe the effects of
drinking sea water are on humans. The reason people cannot drink seawater is
because of their urine. The kidneys can only produce urine if the amount of salt is
less than the amount of salt in seawater. So, drinking seawater would cause people to
urinate more water than they drank which would cause a person to become
dehydrated and even thirstier until they would eventually
Diet For Infant s Gasteroesophasial Reflux
Hypoalergenic diet for infant s gasteroesophasial reflux: A Randomized, case
controlled Trial .Introduction Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is defined as the
passive movement of gastric contents into the esophagus with or without
regurgitation or vomiting. It is a physiologic state occurring several times per day,
with no symptoms.(1) . Episodes of regurgitation peaks at about 4 months of age (2).
and it resolves without treatment in 95 % of infants by 1 year of age. .(1) GER
disease (GERD) occurs when reflux of the gastric contents causes some
complications, including failure to thrive, feeding or sleeping problems, chronic
respiratory disorders, irrtability , hematemesis, apnea, and life threatening events.(1) .
Infant with GERD needs intervention to resolve complications. The best method for
diagnosis is PH metry + multiple intraluminal impedance but is very difficult doing
the procedure in infants, so diagnosis of it is on base of sign and symptoms and
excluding other pathologic causes of vomiting and severe regurgitation(3) Some
authors advised medical treatment for this purpose. They believe that when infants
suffer from any sign and symptoms of GERD more intensive management like
antisecretory agents, antiacids, surface barrier agents and prokinetics is needed.( 1, 3)
Drug treatment of gastroesophageal reflux includes antiacids, H2 blockers or
PPIs(Proton pomp inhibitors). H2 blockers such as Ranitidine, cimetidine are useful in

How Does Jesus Impact The World
Many people throughout history have achieved to make a great impact within their
community and all over the world. My favorite would have to be Jesus. Never has
there been a man who has had such an impact on the world we live in today is
Jesus. Born in the Roman Province of Judea and raised in the town of Nazareth in
the Roman Province of Galilee, just north of Judea, Jesusspent most of his time
doing ministry in Galilee where he was very successful and also went to Jerusalem
to conduct ministry but was rejected and crucified while there. As proclaiming to be
the Son of Godand the prophesied Messiah to lead and save the world. This proved to
be very controversial as many Jews thought that he was committing blasphemy and

Romans Death Religion
During the Republican period and Empire, Rome was a city that was constantly
evolving and growing in size. As a result of the growing population came the problem
of pollution. Pollution led the Roman Empire to establish rules and guidelines in
handling the deceased in terms of the type of burial being used.1 This also led to
changes in beliefs about the afterlife that could have been influenced by different
cultural factors. Several scholars have argued that the Romans experienced a
transition from cremation to inhumation, a change that has been linked to the rise of
Christianity.2 However, I will argue that this transition was in fact due to
philosophical religious aspects dependent on social, political and economic factors. In

The funerary procession began with the deceased s body held in an upright
position and the body should never be reclined at any point.10 It was also a
necessary step for the deceased to play a role in his or her own funeral; a way to
achieve this was through the use of masks, mimes and actors.11 This can be seen
when Diodorus Siculus describes the lavish funeral of Lucius Aemilius Paullus in
160 BC, and how he was a participant in his own ceremony.12 This was achieved by
using professional actors into the funeral. By doing so, Romans were able to bring
the deceased back to life for a moment to commemorate the success they achieved in
their lifetime. An aspect that was never overlooked to ensure this was the physical
similarity between the actor and the deceased. This is demonstrated when Suentonis
describes the funeral of emperor Vespasian; in his ceremony the hired actor not only
shared physical similarities with the emperor but he was even able to imitate the
supposedly stinginess the Emperor had.13 The use of hired actors in funerals did not
have a direct effect on the change of burials but the tradition still held

Nuclear powerplants and nuclear power is one of the cheapest forms of green

Nuclear power is shut down by many people without them even knowing how it
actually creates energy. Nuclear power is pretty basic when it comes to power plants
they use rods of uranium heat them up by using nuclear fission (Two atoms create
new atoms creating atoms and power). When the rods get warmed up to a certain
temperature the water surrounding the nuclear rods create steam which turn a big
turbine and create electricity without creating carbon emissions. The fact people shut
down nuclear power without even knowing how the energy can and is being created
is one of the problem that nuclear power is facing. It s not the people hating nuclear
energy it s the people not knowing what nuclear power is.
Nuclear energy can also do many things than just create energy. Nuclear energy
creates heat and when the heat is created it can create steam and water vapor so it
can take saltwater boil it and create power and clean water for different third world
countries. Nuclear energy can also create many different styles of job for the
starving job market. The nuclear power industry is also due for a update. Creating
different nuclear and more advance power plants. That will lead to construction jobs
in high demand and many different types of
Instruction Methods For Teaching Decisions
I honestly thought that this lesson was going to be taught to teach to the class. I
spent countless hours reading the information in the curriculum handbook and even
collaborating with other teachers just to understand the material properly. I was
thoroughly surprised at how well the lesson was received and it greatly boosted
my self confidence in my planning and teaching decisions. This lesson was all
about symmetry and dividing crazy cakes evenly between two people by looking
for smaller shapes within the larger shape. The shapes of the cakes literally were
crazy because they were not shaped like your normal cake. There were many
different angles and sides, because of this each student had to really sit and visualize
what other shapes were inside the cake. I feel that my instruction methods worked
great for this lesson. I followed the plan given to me by the curriculum book by
talking about the activityfirst then letting the students work together in groups to
divide the cakes as best as possible. I thoughtit would be beneficial to let students
come up to the board and practice with dividing the cakes before letting them work
with their groups. I think that by allowing a few of them to show their initial
thought process allowed others to see how they could divide their cakes as well. I
then gave direct instructions on how we were to transition to our tables and begin
working on their crazy cakes. The classroom has been struggling lately with
transitions, so I was very
How Does Brecht Make A Form Of Theatre
In this essay I will be discussing the theatrical style of Brecht and how he created his
own form of theatre and I will be using his play Mother Courage and Her Children to
back up the innovation and techniques that Brecht used during his career.
Mother Courage and Her Children is set in the 30 year s war and follows Mother
Courage making a living by selling supplies from her wagon to armies that they
encounter. Trying to make a living for herself and her family. The focus is on the
conflict that occurs between war profiteering and maintaining a family. Her children
end up dying due to the struggle of trying to live like a family and trying to survive
the war. Brecht wanted to show audiences that if families are going to survive they
need to understand that capitalism needs to go. (Theatre Histories:2010)
Although Brecht was a Marxist he did take interest into a form of theatre that differed
from socialist realism, that was brought upon by Stalin s culture. When Brecht had
written Mother Courage and Her Children he took it with him to Finland after he was
forced to leave Germany after Hitler came into power due to him not being sure how
the Soviet and German communists would treat him. Brecht and his wife, Helene
Weigel, decided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ease and relaxed. They had to be aware of any or all political implications and
consequences that were made by the actors. When Brecht began to make his own
style of theatre, going to the theatre wasn t an experience that was whole hearted and
uplifting, the audience was made to suffer and left the theatre in the mind set of

The s Theory Of Human Behavior, Emotion, And Thought
Relationships exist in every possible corner of humanity. The adage regarding
strength in numbers is a relevant point to deliberate when discussing the benefits
and deficits of belongingness. The belongingness hypothesis states that people have
a basic psychological need to feel closely connected to others, and that caring,
affectionate bonds from close relationships are a major part of human behavior
(Selterman, 2014). People are driven to form and keep positive and significant
relationships with others who reciprocate concern and care. The need to belong
motivates human behavior, emotion and thought. Whether looking from a
theological perspective, But you belong to God... (John 4:4, English Standard
Version) or an evolutionary view of cell mutations and adaptations, it is inarguable
that successful procreation ensures the survivability of mankind. In this act of
procreation lies the very reason it is a human necessity to have relationships and
seek a level of belonging. Normal and healthy development depends on the
associations we form and the existence of humanity is proof of the innateness of
belonging. There is abundant evidence that social bonds form easily. Indeed, people
in every society on earth belong to small primary groups that involve face to face,
personal interactions (Baumeister, 1995). Whether the relationship is romantic, filial,
sibling oriented, friendly, or based on a need to survive is of little consequence in
this dialog. It is quintessential

Test Strategies Not so Helpful
There are so many strategy recommendations for students. While each have good
points, some are more helpful than others. Strategies that don t seem as helpful to me
are simulating actual test like circumstances when studying for the exam, study
groups, note taking by using the fancy systems. These three strategies just seem to
increase my stress level to the point I feel like I am not learning.
Simulating actual test like circumstances has just never worked for me as I usually
don t pick the correct information to test myself on and the important information
gets left behind. Study groups cause me too much pressure because I find that one
or two people seem to be putting the study guides together. This is a pet peeve for
me; I don t mind sharing my ideas but don t expect me to do all the work and then
hand it to you. The final one that has never worked for me is taking notes by using
one of the many note taking systems. I find myself spending too much time trying

have developed my own crazy way of taking notes over the years. Note taking is an

Caregiving For Older Adults
In fact, nearly 66 million people in the United States currently provide care,
assistance and support for a family member who is elderly or who is living with a
disability (CICOA). There are also individuals who provide care and assistance for
infants, children and household pets. There are formal and informal caregivers, a
formal or familycaregiveris defined as, an individual, age 18 or older who provides
unpaid care to family member or friend who need assistance with everyday activities
while a formal caregiver is a paid care provider ( Hunt, 2015; Caregiver.org, 2016).
This paper will report over caregiving for older adults, alternative placement
options, personal statements from a caregiver and resources on caregiving for
older adults. My report will focus on family caregivers and those providing care for
older adults. How are these caregivers and what do they do? In the 2015 Report,

care to an adult or child in the last 12 months. The average caregiver can be
described as an older female who is currently employed or was employed caring for
an older relative with physical condition. The majority are relatives, parents or
parent in law with one out 10 being a spouse (Caregiving in the U.S., 2015). More
than 96% of caregivers will perform activities of daily living (ADL) such as getting

The Jungle
The Jungle Essay
The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, clearly depicts the socio economic strife and political
turpitude that ushered America into the 20th century. While telling the story of
Lithuanian immigrants struggling to survive in Chicago, Sinclair illustrates how
avarice and ruthless competition were driving forces in the exploitational predatory
capitalist ВіjungleВІ of American ВіsocietyВІ at the turn of the century. This radical
novel, described as muckraking by President Theodore Roosevelt, was a sounding
board for pro socialist politics.

The elections were rigged by industrialists and Mafia with the workers generally
losing. Sinclair illustrated this, for example, when Jurgis sought citizenship. Jurgis
was obliged to vote for a local boss, Mike Scully. He became a citizen in exchange for
two dollars plus two hours off work with pay. He became an undercover operator for
that boss, taking bribes from his underlings and beating up strikers.
Sinclair reported that unions were no match for the capitalist organizations and the
workers were ignorant of their own best interests. The businesses took advantage by
cannibalizing the strong workers and discarding the weak. The entire political
machine is exposed as corrupt and impersonal, taking no responsibility for the
workers. Just as Uncle TomВ№s Cabin exposed evils of slavery, Sinclair poignantly
demonstrates that workers were slaves to the whims of their capitalist masters and
that immigrants, ignorant of the language, ways and means, were the most
vulnerable to the capitalist trap.
The themes of The Jungle also have parallelism to themes of science at the time, in
particular, the naturalist movement espoused by Emile Zola, and the evolutionary
theories of Charles Darwin. Just as Zola focused on how environment shapes the
lives of the individual, Sinclair evinces that the downfall of his characters, and
particularly their
Electric Cars Vs Electric Cars
Throughout modern times we have seen and witnessed many advancements of
technologies. One of the major advancements in environmental friendly technology
we have seen include electric vehicles. Electric vehicles have brought us about many
advantages, but there are reasons why electric vehicles should cost more than
conventional gasoline cars.
Electric car sales have raised to 2 million dollars in 2016 after being almost non
existent in 2010. EV s run on electricity, compared to conventional vehicles that use
a gas or diesel powered engine. These cars average around $1.14 per eGallon,
compared to $3.65 a gallon for gas. Nevertheless they have a major obstacle when it
comes to entering and doing well in today s market due to the high price. Electric cars
use different parts that cost more to produce, therefore the parts used to make the
electric cars cause the price for the car to rise. Considering the cost for producing
electric cars is so expensive, companies need to charge a high price in order to
make a profit. This proves that the price for electric cars should be more expensive
than gasoline powered vehicles because of the battery price, it s a new market and the
technological opportunities.
To create a battery that makes an electric car run there are many different
components that need to be taken into consideration. The cost for electric car battery
by itself takes up about 25% 50% of the electric vehicle price. The main component
that contribute to the majority price

Mysterious ways of J.D. Salinger Essay
J.D. Salinger could be considered one of the greatest, and most contrevertional
authors of our time. We only know limited things about him and his work. He has
been pushed off into the woods due to betrayal by his loved ones, and people close
to him. Negative criticism of his work has also contributed to making him leave.
Not to mention the biggest factor which made him want to be left alone, phoniness.
These are the reasons that I believe why he wants to be left alone and not give
interviews, this is also what fuels the press to keep chasingafter J.D.
To give a brief biography of what J.D. did up until his name was heard of, here s how
it all started. In 1934 J.D. s father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Franny states I m just sick of ego, ego, ego. My own and everybody else s. I m sick
of everybody that wants to get somewhere, do something distinguished and all, be
somebody interesting. It s disgusting it is, it is. I don t care what anybody says
(Salinger 29 30). Along with Franny another one of Salinger s characters (probably
his most well known) Holden Caulfield has the same set of views. He also would
like to abolish all of the phonies out there.
While reading any work by Salinger I think that he is trying to get you to look
beneath just what you see on the surface, past looks, and money. After the Herriges
interview he says that the first two passages that came into his mind where from A
Perfect Day for Bananafish, and Zooey (129). In both of these stories the
characters talk of not wanting physical aspects to be looked at. This is what I
believe what Salinger is trying to do, get us to look at a person from the inside,
who they really are. Again, in the Eppes interview he tells her that about why he
doesn t give autographs. He feels that they are meaningless, and that no author with
respect gives them out (234). These are some of the reasons I feel that Salinger
retreated to the woods, because these things happening in today s society. Money and
looks are what seem to matter these days.

Analysis Of The Poem Snake By D. H. Lawrence
The Psychology of the Serpent in D.H. Lawrence s Snake
Less than 17% of the world s snakes are poisonous and less than half of these are
dangerous to man. The risk of death as a result of snakebite is, in fact, lower than the
risk of being struck by lightning (Pinney 138). Nonetheless, cross culturally and
throughout the world, the snake is an object of fascination, fear, and respect for
humankind. The serpent is a source of symbolic speculation, as it appears in myth,
dream, literature, and religion. In nature or otherwise, it is impossible to approach the
creature innocently (Morgenson 3). As D.H. Lawrence s poem, Snake , suggests, the
snake s invoked power in not a result of any physiological aspect of the snake s ...

Intimidation is immediately established from the dawn of the poem, where Lawrence
s narrator is in pajamas for the heat , in the company of a visiting serpent (2). In such
casual attire as pajamas, one is left feeling vulnerable and exposed, susceptible to
social attack. Lawrence s character is, of course, vulnerable to the snake s venomous
predation, but he is also susceptible to society s and human nature s convictions of the
slithering snake, which effectively influences the narrator s judgement. Naturally, this
intimidation is absurd. It continues throughout the poem while the narrator like a
second comer waits, but the snake, throughout the incident, proves to be harmless
(15). The true daunting forces of the narrator s sentiments are the voices of [his]
education (22). While the said voices remain mysterious, foreboding, and unnatural in
Lawrence s realm of natural thought and environment, the snake is familiar, and is
accredited with figurative familiarity:
He lifted his head from drinking, as cattle do,
He looked at me vaguely as drinking cattle do (16 17).
Comparing the snake s actions to the docile, accustomed behaviour of a primarily
agricultural species lessens the threat that the snake projects, yet the poem s tension
is not respectively decreased. Ironically, the stereotypically conniving, quick witted
serpent image in not reflected in this simile. Cattle are slow, tribal

But then the question that arises is what are the agency problems solved by them and
why are boards the solution to these problems? The agency problem in any
corporation is between the management and the shareholders. And the problem arises
because of lack of control of shareholders on the management and the possibility of
the managementcheating the shareholders. The possible solution to this problem is
either providing the management with incentive or strengthening the position of
shareholders to tackle the problem on their own. But then the question arises who
provides the management with the incentives and how the shareholders are
strengthened. Thus the board can be seen as a bridge or a medium, as suggested by

Another evidence that the board has become stricter is increase in the probabilities
of CEO dismissal. The board not only controls what the management does but also
the process of hiring and compensating the top executives. The question that arises
here is whether the board steps forward and acquires the costly signal about
competency of the CEO or not? On the other hand, how does the CEO influences
the board and gains control it, how well does the CEO market her capabilities in
order to bargain for less independent board? The question that arises here is that if
board controls the dismissal of CEO then why are directors reluctant to object to
CEO s decisions which are not in favor of the shareholders, why doesn t the board
remove the CEO when her performance is poor? Why do the board directors are
happy to always act as yes man instead of acting as a troublemaker or a strict
monitor . Mace (1986) shows that directors remain steadfastly loyal to misguided
CEOs.
Jensen (1993, pp. 862 3) observes in his Presidential Address to the American
Finance Association: The problems with corporate internal control systems start with
the board of directors. The board, at the apex of the internal control system, has the
final responsibility for the functioning of the firm. Most importantly, it sets the rules
of the game for the CEO. The job of the board is to hire, fire,

Nurse Delegation
Under the regulations of the California Nurse Practice Act, a Licensed Vocational
Nurse has the ability to delegate tasks to unlicensed assisted personnel (UAP)
according to individual facility policy. Delegation as stated in Hill Howlett is defined
as, transferring the authority to perform nursing duties that are in the job description
of the LVN charge nurse. Prior to carrying out this important nursing duty, it is
important for the LVN to recognize the difference between assigning tasks and
delegating tasks. As explained in an article in the Journal of Nursing regulation
titled; National Guidelines for Nursing Delegation. Assigning tasks would involve
performing routine care, activities, and procedures that are within the authorized
scope or practice of the LVN or part of the routine functions of the UAP. Delegating
tasks on the other hand is defined as allowing a delegate to perform a specific nursing

of the nursing process, knowledge in what to do with that process as well as being

Why Curfew Hourss Are Important For Teens
The ways teens act nowadays are really diverse between the new and old. Curfew
hours are really important for teens and their own safety.Although they are home
certain times, this does not necessarily mean their actions are appropriate. The curfew

juvenile under control can have mutual responsibilities. The most critical issue for not
following the curfewhours can lead to many consequences. The time limit can have
lots of causes and effects within teens.Curfew times are good to have to help teens
from getting into dangerous situations, the lost of education, and the mutual amount
of safety at the time. Curfew hours have positive and negative standards. Curfews are
meant to help the teens from getting into trouble. For example, your child might have

Savings. Savings Refer To The Income Not Spent Or
Deferred
Savings Savings refer to the income not spent or deferred consumption. In economic
terms it can be equated in the following way: Saving= disposable income
consumption Within personal finance, the act of saving refers to the preservation of
money for future use. Saving, therefore, is the decision to defer consumption and to
store this deferred consumption in some form of asset. Common examples of saving
are putting money in a piggy bank, storing a certain amount of cash at home for
sudden requirements, keeping money in a bank account and so on. Motives for
Saving The famous life cycle model of Nobel laureate Franco Modigliani asserts that

In an economy not experiencing growth in technology or population, it is expected
that in the long run, the country s net saving will be zero. An economy s long run
savings rate of zero does not mean that no one saves. Rather, it means that the positive
savings of those accumulating assets exactly balance the negative savings of those
consuming their assets. For growing economies, long run saving is likely to be
positive to ensure that the capital accumulation keeps pace with the strength of
workers. Investment To invest is to allocate money (or sometimes another resource,
such as time) in the expectation of some benefit in the future. In finance, the benefit
earned from investment is called a return. The return may be in the form of capital
gain or investment income, including dividends, interest, rental income etc.
Investment generally means acquiring an asset, also called an investment. If the asset
is available at a price worth investing, it is normally expected either to generate
income, or to appreciate in value, so that it can be sold at a higher price (or both). The
two main aspects of any investment are time and risk. The sacrifice (of consumption)
takes place in the present and is certain. But the benefit is to be received in the future
and tends to be uncertain. In some investment options the time element is the
dominant attribute while in some other the risk element may be more dominant.

Should Teachers Retire Before 60 Research Paper
At what age should teachers really retire? In this article I read was explaining on
why it s important to retire before 55.Sometimes the body can t last long enough

The Rule Of The Franciscan Order
The Rule of the Franciscan Order
Francis of Assisi is an icon of poverty and reform in the Catholic Church, because
his lifestyle encouraged the Church and especially the hierarchy of his time to
change almost entirely. He can be perceived as a prophet of his time who
revolutionized from his very being a drastic change, because with his life as an
example he went from words to actions. Francis was born into a wealthy family in
Assisi; he had everything a boy of his time could ask for. Francis experienced some
time alone in a prison cell, it was after that time that he begins to feel dissatisfaction
with kind of life he was living and began to grow a spiritual maturation.
Francis received a revelation about his mission and found that the key to his life was
his uncompromising attempt to imitate Christ through absolute poverty, humility and
simplicity.

Rule of the Franciscan Order . It gives details in regards to the history of the
founding of the order and what was the major contribution of St. Francis in

time, almost unwittingly Francis became the leader of this Christian
An Integrated Energy And Environmental Management
System...
The manager of an integrated energy and environmental management system is
responsible for allocating carbon emission treatment amount to each carbon emitter
within a multi period horizon. In a regional energy system, there are some
limitations for total emission amounts set up by the emission constraints in certain
periods. If carbon emission is larger than the emission target, the over limit part
should be treated by carbon mitigation facilities. In period k, carbon emission
amounts should be no more than the summation of carbon emission permit and the
surplus credits from previous period (k в€’1), in which surplus of emission credits
are to be transferable to a consecutive period (Li et al. 2012). Moreover, carbon
emission inventory of different emitters may vary from each period under the
different operating condition, which can be expressed as a random variable, the study
system can be formulated through a MSP approach. Thus, in a MSP model for carbon
emission management system, the objective is to maximize system benefits while
satisfying the total carbon emission requirement. Specifically, the economic objective
can be formulated as follows: пј€1
aпј‰ where are decision variables that are
reflected in the objective function and determined by the capacity of carbon capture
measures.
During a certain period, there is a maximum limit for total carbon emission amount

The Data Warehouse Market
The data warehouse DBMS market is going through a transformation due to the rise
of big data and logical data Warehouses. Surprisingly, many establishments entered
the data warehouse market in 2012 for the first time, swelling demand for
professional services and causing vital changes in vendors positions.
The different influential vendors in the Data warehouse market are detailed below
1)Teradata
Teradata offers both traditional and emerging logical data warehouse solutions.
Teradata product delivery is in such a way that it always leads and faces least
competition in overall execution. It has constantly pushed the market towards
emerging best practices and product innovation. Teradata has different form factors
ranging from tiny proof of concept (POC) solutions to an all flash memory, enterprise
capable solution. It is a leader in logical data warehouse with its unified data
architecture which combines Teradata, Aster and Hadoop technology.
It lags in upgrading to newer versions and there is a near absence of skilled Teradata
professionals in the market.
2)Oracle
Oracle customers have the option to choose to build a warehouse using oracles
DBMS software. Oracle offers the below mentioned data warehouse solutions.
DBMS software, certified configurations, Oracle Big Data Appliance, Oracle
Exadata X3 (X3 2 and X3 8), Oracle SPARC Super Cluster T4 systems with Oracle
Exadata Storage Servers. The oracle products have an appeal to the current data
warehouse market.
Mole Concept Lab Report
Introduction to the Mole Concept
The word mole is from the Latin moles, which means mass or pile. Chemists often
need to count atoms to know exactly how many there are in a sample of a given
element. In chemistry, mass, weight and volume are some of the most commonly
used methods to measure the amount of a substance. However, since atoms are so
small, it is difficult to calculate the number of atoms in a given amount using these
measurements. The mole is the chemist s expression of amount. To him it means a
definite number of individual unit particles of whatever species is being considered.
This number is a standard (Reinhold 4). A mole is defined as Avogadro s number of
atoms, ions and molecules. Avogadro s number is 6.022X10 23.... Show more content

The ideal gas law is expressed by the equation, PV=nRT. P refers to the pressure
while V,n,R and T represent the volume, number of moles, the gas constant and the
temperature, respectively. The ideal gas law describes the relationships between
the properties mentioned above. Although this equation is widely used, it is
limited in the sense that gases only behave ideally under very few circumstances.
The moles of a substance are used here in addition to the volume. An example
problem reads, if a gas has a pressure of 6.5 atm, a volume of 8 Liters, and there are 2

The Failure Of The Treaty Of Versailles
The failure of the Treaty of Versailles in the United States Senate was due to both the
opposition of the treaty in liberal and conservative forces, as well as Woodrow
Wilson s stubbornness and incompetence when deciding the final version of the treaty
with imperialism, German restrictions, and the League of Nations. As World War I
began with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, igniting a conflict
between Serbia and Austria Hungary that snowballed into a war with Great Britain,
France, and Russia against Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy. When the war was
over, the Treaty of Versailles
needed to be discussed between the Great Britain, France,
Italy, and the United States. The European demands from the war were fueled by
revenge, and their imperialism countered Wilson s apparent morality. Although
isolationists and Republicans desired to influence the treaty, Wilson had accepted the
European demands, and even after altering the treaty for European gain, he
disallowed the treaty from passing twice in the Senate after Henry Cabot Lodge
added reservations. Wilson s influence on the Senate and the Treaty of Versailles led
to its defeat in the United States and ultimately the US absence in the League of
Nations. The opposition of the Treaty of Versailles rose when the European nations
contradicted America s values of isolationism and moral idealism, with various
groups in the United States questioning the treaty and its lenience of European
imperialism. Beginning

took them into a bedroom. Rader then tied all of them up with rope and

Personal Reflection Of Personal Ethics In The Classroom
I am one of the numerous amount of students enrolled in your class and most likely,
you have no idea who I am. I am hopeful that this letter will apprise you about my
personality, work ethic, and other characteristics.
When I was younger, I enjoyed being constantly active; whether that be hanging off
the couch while watching T.V. or running around my house yelling incoherent
phrases to drive my mother insane, I did it all. One day, I stumbled upon a video of a
girl teaching the viewer how to do a skill named the back handspring (a skill where
you push off from an upright standing position into vertical back onto your feet to
complete a full rotation). In awe, it inspired me to attempt it myself, until I
realized it took a lot more to flip backwards and expect to land on your hands
without falling onto your face. I can recall myself watching a plethora of these
varieties of videos in where people demonstrated how to do different certain skills. I
would be fascinated by the idea that you can maneuver your body to do tricks that
most people would not dare to attempt. Not long after that, I begged to try out and, to
my amazement, ended up making it into what would become my gymnastics team.
When I first began, I was not prepared for the amount of work that was required of
the individual, both physically and mentally. I remember the first practice I attended
was one of my most exhausting. Being a newcomer to such an intense sport, it
allowed many, many mistakes. The quote said
The Egyptian Process Of Mummification
The Egyptian Process of Mummification
In ancient Egyptian society, preserving a body after death was an important process
necessary for entrance into an immortal existence.
According to Egyptian belief the soul did not die. The soul would take the form of
a bird usually a falcon and fly around in the world of the living returning later its
dead body. The importance of preserving the body revolved around the idea that the
roaming soul would be able to recognize the right body and return to it. As a result of
this theology, Egyptians developed an effective system of embalming.

The most well known mummies are those of Egyptian Pharaohs. The body of
Tutankhamun is the most renowned fully intact mummy. Several other royal
mummies have survived the centuries but they have been re wrapped and stripped
of their jewels. Re wrapped mummies were not properly completed and were always
hurried(for fear of divine retribution). The Egyptians worshipped several animals.
Divine animals such as cats, jackals, hawks, and bulls were allowed the same
mummification privilege as humans. Entire cemeteries were reserved for animals.
The cat cemeteries were situated around Bubastis the center of worship of the cat
goddess Bastet.
Underground catacombs house hundreds of thousands of mummified hawks. It was
common practice for visitors to the catacombs to purchase an animal mummy and
dedicate it to a specific animal god in return for a favour.
Nevertheless, most of these animal mummies when unwrapped contained no sacred
animal, but twigs and sawdust. The manufacture of phoney mummies would
hundreds of years later in the eighteen century again generate big business. The
process of mummification was so esteemed that major criminals would not be
executed but denied being mummified. In another case, a prince who attempted to
assassinate Ramesses II was mummified alive. The wretched pose of this prince
would suggest he was asphyxiated. Another suggestion, is that the prince was

The Importance Of Human Rights
Human Rights
Making a fearless advance in children s rights, Mother Jones led a valiant march to
defend human rights, because of her love of children, and Cesar Chavez and
Aminatou Haidar stood up for causes that they experienced themselves. Cesar Chavez
created the UFW to improve the lives of migrant farm workers, and Aminatou Haidar
staged a series of nonviolent protests to encourage the independence of Western
Sahara. Mother Jones enacted change when she drew national attention to the harsh
working conditions of children working in textile and mill factories. This is supported
when Josephson states, They would march the mill children all the way to the
president of the United States Theodore Roosevelt. Mother Jones wanted the
president to get Congress to pass a law that would take children out of the mills,
mines, and factories, and put them in school. This shows Mother Jones s
determination to change society and improve human rights. She faced many
challenges, such as the disapproval of her belief and speeches. Also during her
march, many people gave up and went home, so her crowd looked weaker. She also
faced the rejection of her proposed law that would stop children from working in
dangerous places at young ages by the president. Secret service officers thought she
was a threat to the president (Josephson). Even though she faced rejection, she still
made an impact on children s rights and she helped shape the world for how it is

The Big Bang Theory Of The Universe Essay
Evidence pointed towards that the universe was expanding, but this was not enough
to separate the Big Bang theory from its rivals. A few decades after the redshift
concept was discovered, scientists detected groundbreaking evidence that was
considered the smoking gun. Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson detected the remnants
of radiation created from the Big Bang. This cosmic background radiation was the
thermal radiation left over from the Big Bang. It was collected in the form as
omnidirectional microwaves, which was red shifted because of the expansion of the
universe. While they were not able to detect large quantities of cosmic background
radiation, the principle of overdetermination allowed them to make claims from this
evidence. They deduced that this radiation must of come from a Big Bang event were
protons and neutrons formed hydrogen atom. This was the smoking gun to the
beginning of the universe, it revealed that only an event like the Big Bang could
create this radiation. All the evidence collected suggested that an event like the Big
Bang would be the only explanation to what scientists had collected. The Big Bang
theory became the most probable theory against its rivals, but scientists were tasked
with an even more difficult problem. They needed to be able to explain how the Big
Bang resulted in the unique universe we observe around us. With the Big Bang
theory established, scientists needed to understand how this theory could create our

Evaluation Of A Patient With Mental Status
Last week I was at the hospital, doing my usual clinical rotations. I was assigned a
patient who was admitted to the hospital for altered mental status. I was a bit
scared to work with this patient because I was never exposed to people who are
not mentally stable. When I came to see my patient for the first time, I saw that he
was accompanied by a woman who told me she was the aid who was working with
him. I was surprised to see that the patient was curled up in the bed and not moving.
She explained to me that the patient was legally blind and also had dementia. She
also said that he was somewhat combative to the doctors and nurses because of his
unfamiliar surroundings and therefore he felt like everyone there was trying to hurt
him in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was also chosen by my clinical instructor to administer medications that day. I
waited for the professor to come around and sure enough, all the medications which
were to be taken by mouth, had to be crushed and administered that way. He was
receiving anticonvulsants and also antiseizure medications. We crushed all the
medications and mixed them into some of his pudding. When I came to give him
the spoon of pudding, he was asleep. I gently awoke him and told him that I had his
pudding. I tried putting the spoon in his mouth and he pushed my hand away. Then,
the aid got up and tried holding his hands and telling him that it was good for him
and he would get ice cream after this. I finally got half the spoon in his mouth and just
when I thought he took the pudding, he spit out the entire thing onto his shirt and
arm and started wiping the pudding off his mouth with his sheet. My clinical
instructor told me to stop trying and that he would get the nurse to try and finish
giving him what was left.
I was having a lot of thoughts and emotions while this episode was unfolding. There
was of course the fear of the patient that everyone in the hospital was trying to hurt
him, and there was also my fear that if he would not get his anti seizure medications,
he would seize in the next few hours and that would be my fault. I also did not like
the response of my clinical instructor to the whole situation. Instead
Theme In Ghassan Kanafani s Men In The Sun
Theme Of Men In The Sun: In the short novel, Men In The Sun, Ghassan Kanafani
engraves a depiction of the evident hardships, anguish, and humiliation that every
Palestinian endures. Ghassan Kanafani uses poignant words to grasp the inmost
portion of the hearts of his audience. His usage of vivid imagery and figurative
language forge a mood of pity and sorrow towards the four protagonists. Each
protagonist is introduced with a heartbreaking backstory. These four backstories
clarify to the audience why each character has decided to reach Kuwait. As they
embark on an ambitious journey to freedom, they are met with numerous
complications; such as weather, age, Abu Baqir, and even each other. As the somber
novel comes to an end, so do the lives of three crucial characters. Hope is truly
absent in Men In The Sun and loss surfaces as the mere connecting element: Abu
Qais losses his source of income, Assad his innocence, Marwan his education, and
Abul Khaizuran his manhood. Kanafani utilizes these losses to compose a novel that
provides a unique perspective of the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, the unfortunate
losses of each character mold their personality. Kanafani shapes a chilling theme in
Men In The Sun: Loss strikes every heart, which is indisputable in the distressing
losses of Abu Qais, Assad, Marwan, and Abul Khaizurn. Abu Qais is the first
character the audience is acquainted with. He is hesitant and panicked about his
decision to travel to Kuwait; he was
What Is Miss Brill Reality
Illusion versus Reality in Miss Brill
Is it really okay to talk to yourself as long as you don t talk back? Well, what if your
fur piece talks back? In Katherine Mansfield s short story, Miss Brill, it is a quickly
established fact that Miss Brill has an odd relationship with her fur necklet (440). But
it is the author s descriptive use of symbolism that provides a deeper understanding of
Miss Brill s personality. Katherine Mansfield creates the woman in the ermine toque
(441) in similarity to Miss Brill to reveal Miss Brill s identity in connection with her
own fur piece and invite comparison, which further illustrates Miss Brill s perception
of reality.
Introduced in the story as simply an ermine toque ... Show more content on

So when the sad little eyes ask, What has been happening to me? (440), it is
equivalent to a sad eyed Miss Brill asking herself that same question. Mansfield
stresses the importance of evaluating the ermine toque (441) as a symbol by making
her the only other character besides Miss Brill who is wearing a fur. However, this
is not the only character fact the two women share.
Intending to further define Miss Brill s bizarre personality and perception of life,
Katherine Mansfield creates the woman in the ermine toque in similarity to Miss
Brill. Miss Brill s description of this woman demonstrates that the two women
share several character facts. Not only are both women wearing furs, but both
women have possessed the furs for some time. Miss Brill refers to the ermine, an
originally white fur, as being shabby and having turned yellowish (441), a color
such a fur would turn with age. Miss Brill s own fur is old enough to require a dab
of black sealing wax on the nose to revive its look from time to time (440). By
saying that the woman wearing the ermine hat has taken on the same color of the
fur (441), Miss Brill suggests that the woman herself has moved on in years. Miss
Brill s own age, which is implied throughout the text, is distastefully proclaimed by
the boy in the park, who refers to Miss Brill as that stupid old thing (443). Most

Comparing the Attitudes Towards Love and Relationships in The Beggar Woman by
William King and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell
In this essay I will be comparing two poems, The Beggar Woman and To His Coy
Mistress. I will be looking at how the themes of love and relationships are dealt with.
I will also be looking at the historical context of the poems.
Firstly in The Beggar Woman, written around 1663 to 1712, by William King. The
story within the poem is about a gentleman who, whilst he is out hunting, wants to
do another kind of sport , i.e. looking for a woman to have sex with. He found a
woman who was a beggar. He asked her if she wanted to have sex in the woods, and,
to his delight, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A gentleman in hunting rode astray,
More out of choice than that he lost his way:
He let his company the hare pursue,
For he himself had other game in view:
This quote shows that he was chasing a woman and that he is not looking for
anything more than sex. He just wants a bit of fun like any sport would give him.
When reading the poems they create images of what is happening are created. In
The Beggar Woman, William King does not use any similes or metaphors. I think
this is because he needs to keep things simple for his audience. When he wrote it,
he relied on his descriptive words to create a mental picture for the reader. For
example, mounts the infant with a gentle toss upon her generous friend, and like a
cross, the sheet she with a dextrous motion winds and her cheeks were fresh and
linen clean. When reading this line, you can imagine her cheeks; they are smooth,
rosy, red, beaming cheeks. Both these quotes make you see an image created by his
cleverly written words.
In To His Coy Mistress, Andrew Marvelldoes use metaphors and similes because he
thinks the audience expects them as they are upper class. Some examples of the
imagery created by metaphors and similes are vegetable love, which is a metaphor;
times winged chariot and his slow chapped power , which are personification; like
morning dew and like
Stolen Art of the Holocaust
While death was the major tragedy of the Holocaust, all of the art stolen was
definitely a dark spot. Most people don t realize, but the art was taken from all
Jews and many others by the Nazis. Some pieces of art have been found, but most
still remain lost. Many that have been discovered are in museums and are not given
to the true owners. There should be efforts spent on finding and recovering the art
stolen by the Nazis to return it to their rightful owners. Hitler would have his soldiers
take the art from the homes where the Jewslived when they took them away.
Sometimes, if he wanted a specific work of art, he would have his people steal it
or take it and kill the people who owned it. He would have his men steal all of the
art and other artifacts from the homes of every person they took to the
concentration camps, as well as those they simply killed in their homes. Taking the
art was his way of taking everything from them, and a way that he could show his
superiority over them. He took it because it was something they had that he wanted.
Very few works of art taken by Hitler have been found, and many that are discovered
reside in museums. Some have been discovered in museums or galleries in Austria,
while thousands still remain lost. Recently, a long lost Monet and other art treasures
stolen from Jews during the Holocaust have been discovered in the home of an 81
year old German art collector, Julian states (Julian). Cornelius Gurlitt, the art
A Christian Worldviews Affect People s Life
Throughout this semester our class has discussed worldviews quite a bit. Before
this course, I had never really thought about or considered just how greatly
worldviews affect people s lives. I have recognized that my family, political party,
and education are all factors that affect my own worldview in many different ways.
Recently, my education has had the greatest effect on my worldview. Before
MVNU I didn t have a Christian worldview because I didn t know much about
Christianity. After just one semester I now feel I have a slightly better understanding
of my world, myself and God. I do believe that Wendell Berry s works present a
Christian worldview because they aided in my newfound understanding. His works

They used words like stalker to describe him but really, he wasn t stalking Mattie
Chatham at all. He was just loving her from afar and in a totally not weird way.
Yes, it would have been super odd if he had followed her around and just stared at
her or made any excuse possible to talk to her, but he didn t. Jayber treated Mattie
like he did anyone else, the only difference is he knew he loved her. The first thing
that I think makes Jayber a great person is that he respected Mattie s marriage. He
could have told her he loved her and that Troy was cheating on her but Jayber knew
that would crush Mattie. His respect for her love and devotion to Troy is admirable.
I think this demonstrates agape love. Though she does not love him, Jayber still
loves her; This is just like how God loves all of his creation even though some of it
does not love him back. Another thing that makes me look up to Jayber is that he
is so faithful to his commitment. People break their commitments so easily. Even
when everyone can see and knows they are breaking their promises, they just don t
care. Jayber s vows to Mattie were completely private. No one would have known or
judged him if he chose to break them, yet he didn t. Even when his pledge to her was
hurting him, he stuck to it. I ve been hurt many times by people being unfaithful to
me; It s stunning to me that Berry

A careful analysis on the sensitivity is necessary in order to make sound business
decisions.
1. Labor Cost
According to the case we know that labor costs in china may have a big increase in
the next 10 years, from 40% totally to 10% annual increase to even 40% annual
increase.
If the labor cost will increase 40% in the next 10 years, that means it ll increase 3.4%
annually, so the NPV of costs will be $73,751,039.
If the labor cost will increase 10% annually in the next 10 years, the NPV of costs
will be $74,998,037.
If the labor cost will increase 40% annually in the next 10 years, the NPV of costs
will be $91,424,835.
We can see from previous analysis, NPV of Temecula is $94,826,678. So if labor cost
will increase differently, we ll get different NVP. But no matter how big increase it ll
be, our decision will still be outsourcing to china.
2. Electricity Price
The current electricity cost in China is 0.065USD per kilo watt hour. It is
estimated to increase by 20% over the next 10 years. Assuming the electricity cost
increase at a certain rate each year, we get the annual increase rate 1.8% (1.8%
=(1+20%)^(1/10) 1). This estimated rate is probably lower than the actually annual
increase because of increasing pressure on environmental records and fuel costs.
Thus how much does electricity cost may increase is important and the NPV model
output is sensitive to it. However, since the electricity cost in China is so low when
converted
Why Are Sweatshops Be Banned
Introduction
The word sweatshop has always had a negative connotation lingering over it. Many
economists believe that they should be banned and made illegal due to their poor
working conditions, safety hazards and worker exploitations. Although these opinions
will indefinitely exist about sweatshops there are many economists that fight the
negative views by bringing statistics and facts about alternate working conditions
into the picture. This forces readers to see alternate views about the issue and how
people in third world countries make a living. The purpose of this review is to
investigate the different aspects and views on how sweatshops are either beneficial or
detrimental to third world countries and the citizens who live there. ... Show more

Many articles were also found through current, credible news sources. The term
sweatshops was initially searched and then later changed to sweatshops and the
economy and sweatshop conditions and workers pay. The database was set to show
the most current articles from first to last. Research became a little more difficult
after narrowing down the topic from a broad point of view. Many articles about this
issue were also found by researching credible economists that have discussed the
controversy multiple times in journals. These articles helped the most with research
because economists have different views about sweatshops and how it helps shape
the economy but they also do not neglect the aspect of exploitation of workers and
unfair pay issues sweatshops bring. Research on the issue of sweatshops was fairly
clear and the documents and professional journals are

1.At the beginning of the Tertiary, there is a layer of andesite breccia a fast cooling
extrusive rock that has not traveled far from its original deposition. This indicates a
volcanic depositional environment. This formation was then intruded by intrusive
slower cooling rocks that create a noncomformity between it and the Walker
formation. The tuff breccia in the Walker formation is consistent with the same
depositional environment as the andesite breccia formation as they are both extrusive
rocks. It is possible that there was an eruption from a volcano that deposited the
highly viscous andesite rocks followed by slower falling ash, which was then ... Show

The Freeman Jewett shale formation is a strong indicator of a low energy/quiet
depositional environment. It is likely this layer was originally deposited offshore
in a marine environment. This is further supported by the following Bena Gravel
formation, which is emblematic of a transitional beach type environment with
pebble size sand and gravel. This coarser layer of sand and gravel overlying the
silty and sandy shale could be evidence for a regressive cycle and receding sea
levels. The Bena Gravel formation is eroded by Kern River Gravel which creates a
disconformity in the stratigraphy. The Kern River Gravel has stream like deposits
but since it cuts through the Bena Gravel Formation it is suggestive the Kern River
Gravel formation has a delta depositional environment. The Terrace formation
suggests a stream depositional environment. If terracing is present, it indicates a
decrease in discharge over time. The next formation, Alluvium, is evidence of an
alluvial fan deposition, a glacial deposition that has been reworked by meltwater, or
of a dried lake bed. (Levin p.86). Regardless of which, the Alluvium formation gives
away easily to mass wasting to from the landslide formation.
Most alluvial fan deposits occur near the margins of the depositional basin because
they occur in low areas at the base of the Temblor formation or Sierra Nevada s. The
marine deposits, beach
The Main Conventions of James Bond Movies Essay
The Main Conventions of James Bond Movies
The character of James Bond is seen to the audience as a hero. Everyone wants to be
James Bond because of his charming good looks and the gorgeous, seductive and

The uses of gadgets and technology have seriously changed in the course of over
forty years, In Dr. No the car chases were incredibly short and basic but in just ten
years other bond films such as Live and Let Die had numerous car and boat chases
that were not only longer but more complex and dangerous making the viewer even
more excited. Over the years the creators have tried and taken this to the next level
by even using cars that can fly, boats that can drive and planes that can swim. In the
more recent bond films they have even chosen to use other modes of transport like in

The Film Adaptation Of Richard Matheson s I Am Legend
The film adaptation of Richard Matheson s 1954 novel, I am Legend, was released
in December of 2007. Starring Will Smith, and directed by Francis Lawrence, the
movie utilizes a viral outbreak, instead of a bacterium (like the book), to spread the
disease (Lawrence). Dr. Alice Krippin genetically engineers the measles virus to act
as an anti cancer treatment. She remarks in an interview that out of the 10,009
clinical trials, there have been 10,009 confirmed cancer free patients. However, the
Krippin virus mutates within the bodies of the patients and begins destroying what
makes them human. KV becomes transmittable through saliva. New York Cityis put
into a quarantine when the number of infected become too great, and U.S. Army
virologist, Robert Neville, is working to find a solution to prevent further spread.
The virus mutates further and is airborne, leading the president to order the
destruction of the bridges leading off Manhattan and quarantine all the infected on
the island. Revealed through flashbacks, Robert Neville s family dies because of
this order. In an attempt to save his wife and child, he has them evacuated from the
Southport dock, but as the helicopter is taking off, another helicopter collides with
theirs, ending in a ball of fire. Three years after the outbreak, Robert Neville is the
sole survivor in New York City, as everyone is either infected or dead. He is
accompanied by his daughter s dog, Sam, and has a resemblance to normal life

Jobs Essay. Essay on quot; What is a Good Jobquot; MGMT2718 - Human Resource Management ...

  • 1. Jobs Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of jobs presents a unique set of challenges that may seem deceptively simple at first glance. While the subject matter itself is broad and relatable, the difficulty lies in striking the right balance between personal insights, statistical data, and broader societal implications. The challenge is to weave together a cohesive narrative that not only delves into the intricacies of various job sectors but also addresses the evolving nature of work in the contemporary world. One hurdle is navigating the vast amount of information available. The job landscape is dynamic, influenced by technological advancements, economic shifts, and societal changes. This requires the writer to stay updated with current trends, statistics, and expert opinions. Selecting relevant and impactful data while discarding the irrelevant becomes a critical skill. Moreover, the essay should not merely be a compilation of facts but a thoughtful exploration of the multifaceted aspects of jobs. Balancing personal anecdotes, if appropriate, with broader trends demands a nuanced approach. The task is to provide a comprehensive understanding without succumbing to information overload or losing the reader's interest. Addressing the diverse perspectives on jobs adds another layer of complexity. What might be a rewarding career for one person could be a source of frustration for another. Acknowledging this subjectivity while maintaining an objective tone is a tightrope walk. The essay should reflect a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities across different professions and industries. Furthermore, discussing the future of jobs introduces an element of speculation. Predicting the trajectory of employment trends requires a careful examination of emerging technologies, global economic shifts, and societal expectations. Striking a balance between realistic projections and avoiding baseless conjecture is crucial to maintaining the essay's credibility. In conclusion, crafting an essay on jobs demands a delicate blend of research, empathy, and analytical prowess. It involves delving into a dynamic and multifaceted topic while maintaining a coherent narrative. The challenge lies in staying current, balancing diverse perspectives, and providing meaningful insights that resonate with a broad audience. For assistance with essays on this topic or others, consider exploring the services available on HelpWriting.net, where you can find support for a variety of writing tasks. Jobs Essay Jobs Essay
  • 2. Aldo Leopold The Land Pyramid In his essay titled The Land Ethic, Aldo Leopold argues that humans should extend ethical behaviors to the natural environment or in other words, the land. The author points out that, thus far, humans have only acted ethically towards one another. However, he believes that it is time for humans also to start to treat the environment with the same respect and dignity that we have for the members of our own species. The author states that he is aware that we cannot entirely prevent utilizing natureas a resource and a commodity. Nonetheless, he concludes that humans should have the responsibility to take care of the environment and to assure its continued existence. Leopold does not believe that humans are the inferior species, the conquerors of the land as he puts it. Instead, he argues, humans are just plain citizens who simply share the planet with millions of other species and who are a part of an intricate and sophisticated system that makes life possible for all living beings. Nonetheless, he believes that in order for people to realize this, and for them to recognize nature as valuable and worth loving, they must be able to envision it as a tangible object. To make this possible, Leopold creates the idea of The Land Pyramid, whose purpose is to create a mental image of the environment as a complex biotic mechanism. The food pyramid is comprised of many layers. The bottom layer is the widest because it represents the species that are most abundant such as
  • 3. Neighbors By J Cole Analysis The song Neighbors by J cole is a song about how he feels people in the world today view the black community and how they are treated by authority and civilians. One of the lines that he raps is Travon kind of fate, this line obviously referring to the death of Trayvon Martin; the young black boy viciously murdered by a white man. Another line that hits home with a lot of his fans is the line, cops bustin down the door with army guns no evidence of the harm we done, this line referring to the treatment of blacks throughout the country by police officers. I feel that this song really speaks out about the current situation we are dealing with in this country with lingering racism and inequality. The Montgomery Bus Boycott starter in 1964
  • 4. Ap European History Research Paper Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more? History engages me like no other subject. History is unrivaled in complexity and depth compared to other areas of study, but many do not realize this because we choose to gloss over the vast majority, reducing entire sagas into little more than a footnote on a single page. The American revolution, while celebrated in the US, is little more than a paragraph in European history, overlooked because of the more relevant Napoleonic era. My passion for learning encourages me to read into these footnotes and discover the lessons and ideas that are ignored by the common curriculum. History intrigues me because, unlike other branches of education, it tells a story. The problem with telling a story is that over time, certain events are altered or omitted by those in power to suit their needs. I was once told that History is written by the victors. This includes not just the winners in war, but the political victors, champions of power, and the wealthy patronage of scoundrels seeking to whitewash their history of shame and corruption. History books, therefore rarely tell the whole story. An example could be when a noble, who just survived a political... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Importance Of Measuring Meridian Arcs Essay The completion of the survey of a great chain of first order triangulation s along the arc of the 30th meridian of east longitude, from South Africa to Egypt, is considered one of the most exceptional surveying feats to ever be executed in Africa and thus its history has interested geodetic surveyors throughout the world. This paper aims to expatiate on the importance of measuring meridian arcs, the need to establish a geodetic survey in a country or continent and subsequently will recount the sequence of events that led to the 75 year length completion of the African arc. The size and shape of the Earth have been of interest to man since the earliest of times, dating as far back to Eratosthenes in the third century. Throughout the years during the 18th and 19th century, geodesists were pre occupied with the task of devising a more accurate determination of the size and shape of the Earth. This led to the observing of necessary triangulations along arcs to determine the radius of the Earth and its degree of flattening (MacDonald, 2000). The African arc, conceived by Sir David Gill, Her Majesty s Astronomer at Cape Town, was created with the understanding that it would contribute immensely to the better knowledge of the form and dimensions on the Earth (Smith, 2006) therefore adding value to the advancement of geodesy. However, besides the need to determine more accurate dimensions for the Earth (Hendriks, 1955), there was a pressing need to establish a reliable and

The Holocaust Medical Experiments Kamree Drummond Mr. Buchanan World History Honors 3rd Block March 27, 2017 Medical Experiments of the Holocaust During World War II, there were many acts of cruelty done towards people seen as unsuitable or worthless to the Nazis. These people included Jew, homosexuals, gypsies, and the handicapped. In this paper, I m going to describe the medical experiments that were performed on inmates by Nazi doctors during the Holocaust. These experiments include: the twin experiments, the freezing experiments, the seawater experiments, and the bone grafting and nerve experiments. One of the main experiments the nazis performed on the prisoners in the concentration camps had the purpose of wanting to find a way to treat a person who was severely cold or frozen, thus began the freezing experiments. These experiments were mostly used to benefit German Air Force. The freezing experiments were mainly held at the Dachau concentration camp. The Dachau camp was mainly built for political prisoners of war. Approximately 188,000 people lived there, and 31,951 were said to have been executed there. Dachau was active for almost all of the 12 year Nazi regime, making it one of the longest running camps. The freezing experiments at Dachau took place in August 1942. The reason people cannot drink seawater is because of their urine. The kidneys can only produce urine if the amount of salt is less than the amount of salt in seawater. So, drinking seawater would cause people to urinate more water than they drank which would cause a person to become dehydrated and even thirstier until they would eventually

Episodes of regurgitation peaks at about 4 months of age (2). and it resolves without treatment in 95 % of infants by 1 year of age. .(1) GER disease (GERD) occurs when reflux of the gastric contents causes some complications, including failure to thrive, feeding or sleeping problems, chronic respiratory disorders, irrtability , hematemesis, apnea, and life threatening events.(1) . Infant with GERD needs intervention to resolve complications. The best method for diagnosis is PH metry + multiple intraluminal impedance but is very difficult doing the procedure in infants, so diagnosis of it is on base of sign and symptoms and excluding other pathologic causes of vomiting and severe regurgitation(3) Some authors advised medical treatment for this purpose. They believe that when infants suffer from any sign and symptoms of GERD more intensive management like antisecretory agents, antiacids, surface barrier agents and prokinetics is needed.( 1, 3) Drug treatment of gastroesophageal reflux includes antiacids, H2 blockers or PPIs(Proton pomp inhibitors). H2 blockers such as Ranitidine, cimetidine are useful in mild to

  • 13. Romans Death Religion During the Republican period and Empire, Rome was a city that was constantly evolving and growing in size. As a result of the growing population came the problem of pollution. Pollution led the Roman Empire to establish rules and guidelines in handling the deceased in terms of the type of burial being used.1 This also led to changes in beliefs about the afterlife that could have been influenced by different cultural factors. Several scholars have argued that the Romans experienced a transition from cremation to inhumation, a change that has been linked to the rise of Christianity.2 However, I will argue that this transition was in fact due to philosophical religious aspects dependent on social, political and economic factors. In this paper,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The funerary procession began with the deceased s body held in an upright position and the body should never be reclined at any point.10 It was also a necessary step for the deceased to play a role in his or her own funeral; a way to achieve this was through the use of masks, mimes and actors.11 This can be seen when Diodorus Siculus describes the lavish funeral of Lucius Aemilius Paullus in 160 BC, and how he was a participant in his own ceremony.12 This was achieved by using professional actors into the funeral. By doing so, Romans were able to bring the deceased back to life for a moment to commemorate the success they achieved in their lifetime. An aspect that was never overlooked to ensure this was the physical similarity between the actor and the deceased. This is demonstrated when Suentonis describes the funeral of emperor Vespasian; in his ceremony the hired actor not only shared physical similarities with the emperor but he was even able to imitate the supposedly stinginess the Emperor had.13 The use of hired actors in funerals did not have a direct effect on the change of burials but the tradition still held

I spent countless hours reading the information in the curriculum handbook and even collaborating with other teachers just to understand the material properly. I was thoroughly surprised at how well the lesson was received and it greatly boosted my self confidence in my planning and teaching decisions. This lesson was all about symmetry and dividing crazy cakes evenly between two people by looking for smaller shapes within the larger shape. The shapes of the cakes literally were crazy because they were not shaped like your normal cake. There were many different angles and sides, because of this each student had to really sit and visualize what other shapes were inside the cake. I feel that my instruction methods worked great for this lesson. I followed the plan given to me by the curriculum book by talking about the activityfirst then letting the students work together in groups to divide the cakes as best as possible. I thoughtit would be beneficial to let students come up to the board and practice with dividing the cakes before letting them work with their groups. I think that by allowing a few of them to show their initial thought process allowed others to see how they could divide their cakes as well. I then gave direct instructions on how we were to transition to our tables and begin working on their crazy cakes. The classroom has been struggling lately with transitions, so I was very

How Does Brecht Make A Form Of Theatre In this essay I will be discussing the theatrical style of Brecht and how he created his own form of theatre and I will be using his play Mother Courage and Her Children to back up the innovation and techniques that Brecht used during his career. Mother Courage and Her Children is set in the 30 year s war and follows Mother Courage making a living by selling supplies from her wagon to armies that they encounter. Trying to make a living for herself and her family. The focus is on the conflict that occurs between war profiteering and maintaining a family. • 17. The s Theory Of Human Behavior, Emotion, And Thought Relationships exist in every possible corner of humanity. The adage regarding strength in numbers is a relevant point to deliberate when discussing the benefits and deficits of belongingness. The belongingness hypothesis states that people have a basic psychological need to feel closely connected to others, and that caring, affectionate bonds from close relationships are a major part of human behavior (Selterman, 2014). People are driven to form and keep positive and significant relationships with others who reciprocate concern and care. The need to belong motivates human behavior, emotion and thought. Whether looking from a theological perspective, But you belong to God... (John 4:4, English Standard Version) or an evolutionary view of cell mutations and adaptations, it is inarguable that successful procreation ensures the survivability of mankind. In this act of procreation lies the very reason it is a human necessity to have relationships and seek a level of belonging. Normal and healthy development depends on the associations we form and the existence of humanity is proof of the innateness of belonging. There is abundant evidence that social bonds form easily. Indeed, people in every society on earth belong to small primary groups that involve face to face, personal interactions (Baumeister, 1995). Whether the relationship is romantic, filial, sibling oriented, friendly, or based on a need to survive is of little consequence in this dialog. It is quintessential

One of the major advancements in environmental friendly technology we have seen include electric vehicles. Electric vehicles have brought us about many advantages, but there are reasons why electric vehicles should cost more than conventional gasoline cars. Electric car sales have raised to 2 million dollars in 2016 after being almost non existent in 2010. EV s run on electricity, compared to conventional vehicles that use a gas or diesel powered engine. These cars average around $1.14 per eGallon, compared to $3.65 a gallon for gas. Nevertheless they have a major obstacle when it comes to entering and doing well in today s market due to the high price. Electric cars use different parts that cost more to produce, therefore the parts used to make the electric cars cause the price for the car to rise. Considering the cost for producing electric cars is so expensive, companies need to charge a high price in order to make a profit. This proves that the price for electric cars should be more expensive than gasoline powered vehicles because of the battery price, it s a new market and the technological opportunities. To create a battery that makes an electric car run there are many different components that need to be taken into consideration. The cost for electric car battery by itself takes up about 25% 50% of the electric vehicle price. The main component that contribute to the majority price

Naturally, this intimidation is absurd. It continues throughout the poem while the narrator like a second comer waits, but the snake, throughout the incident, proves to be harmless (15). The true daunting forces of the narrator s sentiments are the voices of [his] education (22). The manager of an integrated energy and environmental management system is responsible for allocating carbon emission treatment amount to each carbon emitter within a multi period horizon. In a regional energy system, there are some limitations for total emission amounts set up by the emission constraints in certain periods. If carbon emission is larger than the emission target, the over limit part should be treated by carbon mitigation facilities. In period k, carbon emission amounts should be no more than the summation of carbon emission permit and the surplus credits from previous period (k в€’1), in which surplus of emission credits are to be transferable to a consecutive period (Li et al. 2012). Moreover, carbon emission inventory of different emitters may vary from each period under the different operating condition, which can be expressed as a random variable, the study system can be formulated through a MSP approach. Thus, in a MSP model for carbon emission management system, the objective is to maximize system benefits while satisfying the total carbon emission requirement. Specifically, the economic objective can be formulated as follows: пј€1 aпј‰ where are decision variables that are reflected in the objective function and determined by the capacity of carbon capture measures. During a certain period, there is a maximum limit for total carbon emission amount (1b) (1c)

Surprisingly, many establishments entered the data warehouse market in 2012 for the first time, swelling demand for professional services and causing vital changes in vendors positions. The different influential vendors in the Data warehouse market are detailed below 1)Teradata Teradata offers both traditional and emerging logical data warehouse solutions. Teradata product delivery is in such a way that it always leads and faces least competition in overall execution. It has constantly pushed the market towards emerging best practices and product innovation. Teradata has different form factors ranging from tiny proof of concept (POC) solutions to an all flash memory, enterprise capable solution. It is a leader in logical data warehouse with its unified data architecture which combines Teradata, Aster and Hadoop technology. It lags in upgrading to newer versions and there is a near absence of skilled Teradata professionals in the market. 2)Oracle Oracle customers have the option to choose to build a warehouse using oracles DBMS software. • 34. Mole Concept Lab Report Introduction to the Mole Concept The word mole is from the Latin moles, which means mass or pile. Chemists often need to count atoms to know exactly how many there are in a sample of a given element. In chemistry, mass, weight and volume are some of the most commonly used methods to measure the amount of a substance. However, since atoms are so small, it is difficult to calculate the number of atoms in a given amount using these measurements. The mole is the chemist s expression of amount. To him it means a definite number of individual unit particles of whatever species is being considered. This number is a standard (Reinhold 4). A mole is defined as Avogadro s number of atoms, ions and molecules. Avogadro s number is 6.022X10 23.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Failure Of The Treaty Of Versailles The failure of the Treaty of Versailles in the United States Senate was due to both the opposition of the treaty in liberal and conservative forces, as well as Woodrow Wilson s stubbornness and incompetence when deciding the final version of the treaty with imperialism, German restrictions, and the League of Nations. As World War I began with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, igniting a conflict between Serbia and Austria Hungary that snowballed into a war with Great Britain, France, and Russia against Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy. When the war was over, the Treaty of Versailles needed to be discussed between the Great Britain, France, Italy, and the United States. The European demands from the war were fueled by revenge, and their imperialism countered Wilson s apparent morality. Although isolationists and Republicans desired to influence the treaty, Wilson had accepted the European demands, and even after altering the treaty for European gain, he disallowed the treaty from passing twice in the Senate after Henry Cabot Lodge added reservations. Wilson s influence on the Senate and the Treaty of Versailles led to its defeat in the United States and ultimately the US absence in the League of Nations. The opposition of the Treaty of Versailles rose when the European nations contradicted America s values of isolationism and moral idealism, with various groups in the United States questioning the treaty and its lenience of European imperialism. Rader s first victims were the Otero family, a family of four. As reported by Juan Ignacio, he did not know these people before committing the murder which he said was a part of his fantasy. Dennis broke into the family s house by coming in through the unlocked back door and cutting the phone lines. He confronted the family at gunpoint and took them into a bedroom. I am hopeful that this letter will apprise you about my personality, work ethic, and other characteristics. When I was younger, I enjoyed being constantly active; whether that be hanging off the couch while watching T.V. or running around my house yelling incoherent phrases to drive my mother insane, I did it all. One day, I stumbled upon a video of a girl teaching the viewer how to do a skill named the back handspring (a skill where you push off from an upright standing position into vertical back onto your feet to complete a full rotation). In awe, it inspired me to attempt it myself, until I realized it took a lot more to flip backwards and expect to land on your hands without falling onto your face. I can recall myself watching a plethora of these varieties of videos in where people demonstrated how to do different certain skills. I would be fascinated by the idea that you can maneuver your body to do tricks that most people would not dare to attempt. Not long after that, I begged to try out and, to my amazement, ended up making it into what would become my gymnastics team. When I first began, I was not prepared for the amount of work that was required of the individual, both physically and mentally. I remember the first practice I attended was one of my most exhausting. Being a newcomer to such an intense sport, it allowed many, many mistakes. The quote said

According to Egyptian belief the soul did not die. The soul would take the form of a bird usually a falcon and fly around in the world of the living returning later its dead body. The importance of preserving the body revolved around the idea that the roaming soul would be able to recognize the right body and return to it. Divine animals such as cats, jackals, hawks, and bulls were allowed the same mummification privilege as humans. Entire cemeteries were reserved for animals. The cat cemeteries were situated around Bubastis the center of worship of the cat goddess Bastet. Underground catacombs house hundreds of thousands of mummified hawks. It was common practice for visitors to the catacombs to purchase an animal mummy and dedicate it to a specific animal god in return for a favour. Nevertheless, most of these animal mummies when unwrapped contained no sacred animal, but twigs and sawdust. The manufacture of phoney mummies would hundreds of years later in the eighteen century again generate big business. Cesar Chavez created the UFW to improve the lives of migrant farm workers, and Aminatou Haidar staged a series of nonviolent protests to encourage the independence of Western Sahara. Mother Jones enacted change when she drew national attention to the harsh working conditions of children working in textile and mill factories. This is supported when Josephson states, They would march the mill children all the way to the president of the United States Theodore Roosevelt. Mother Jones wanted the president to get Congress to pass a law that would take children out of the mills, mines, and factories, and put them in school. This shows Mother Jones s determination to change society and improve human rights. She faced many challenges, such as the disapproval of her belief and speeches. Also during her march, many people gave up and went home, so her crowd looked weaker. She also faced the rejection of her proposed law that would stop children from working in dangerous places at young ages by the president. A few decades after the redshift concept was discovered, scientists detected groundbreaking evidence that was considered the smoking gun. Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson detected the remnants of radiation created from the Big Bang. This cosmic background radiation was the thermal radiation left over from the Big Bang. It was collected in the form as omnidirectional microwaves, which was red shifted because of the expansion of the universe. While they were not able to detect large quantities of cosmic background radiation, the principle of overdetermination allowed them to make claims from this evidence. They deduced that this radiation must of come from a Big Bang event were protons and neutrons formed hydrogen atom. This was the smoking gun to the beginning of the universe, it revealed that only an event like the Big Bang could create this radiation. All the evidence collected suggested that an event like the Big Bang would be the only explanation to what scientists had collected. They needed to be able to explain how the Big Bang resulted in the unique universe we observe around us. With the Big Bang theory established, scientists needed to understand how this theory could create our observable

Theme In Ghassan Kanafani s Men In The Sun Theme Of Men In The Sun: In the short novel, Men In The Sun, Ghassan Kanafani engraves a depiction of the evident hardships, anguish, and humiliation that every Palestinian endures. Ghassan Kanafani uses poignant words to grasp the inmost portion of the hearts of his audience. His usage of vivid imagery and figurative language forge a mood of pity and sorrow towards the four protagonists. Each protagonist is introduced with a heartbreaking backstory. These four backstories clarify to the audience why each character has decided to reach Kuwait. As they embark on an ambitious journey to freedom, they are met with numerous complications; such as weather, age, Abu Baqir, and even each other. As the somber novel comes to an end, so do the lives of three crucial characters. Hope is truly absent in Men In The Sun and loss surfaces as the mere connecting element: Abu Qais losses his source of income, Assad his innocence, Marwan his education, and Abul Khaizuran his manhood. Kanafani utilizes these losses to compose a novel that provides a unique perspective of the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, the unfortunate losses of each character mold their personality. Kanafani shapes a chilling theme in Men In The Sun: Loss strikes every heart, which is indisputable in the distressing losses of Abu Qais, Assad, Marwan, and Abul Khaizurn. Mansfield stresses the importance of evaluating the ermine toque (441) as a symbol by making her the only other character besides Miss Brill who is wearing a fur. However, this is not the only character fact the two women share. Intending to further define Miss Brill s bizarre personality and perception of life, Katherine Mansfield creates the woman in the ermine toque in similarity to Miss Brill. Miss Brill s description of this woman demonstrates that the two women share several character facts. Not only are both women wearing furs, but both women have possessed the furs for some time. Miss Brill refers to the ermine, an originally white fur, as being shabby and having turned yellowish (441), a color such a fur would turn with age. Miss Brill s own fur is old enough to require a dab of black sealing wax on the nose to revive its look from time to time (440). By saying that the woman wearing the ermine hat has taken on the same color of the fur (441), Miss Brill suggests that the woman herself has moved on in years. Miss Brill s own age, which is implied throughout the text, is distastefully proclaimed by the boy in the park, who refers to Miss Brill as that stupid old thing (443). Most importantly,

Many that have been discovered are in museums and are not given to the true owners. This coarser layer of sand and gravel overlying the silty and sandy shale could be evidence for a regressive cycle and receding sea levels.
