Interesting Persuasive Essay Topics
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Interesting Persuasive Essay Topics" can pose a unique set of
challenges. The difficulty lies in the need to not only identify captivating subjects but also to
present them in a compelling and persuasive manner. The process requires a thorough
understanding of the target audience, an ability to research and gather relevant information, and
the skill to articulate arguments persuasively.
One challenge is the subjective nature of what might be deemed "interesting" since individual
preferences vary. What engages one person might not captivate another. Therefore, striking a
balance between uniqueness and universal appeal becomes crucial. Additionally, the writer must
navigate through a sea of potential topics, choosing those that are not only attention-grabbing but
also offer room for in-depth exploration and discussion.
Moreover, the persuasive aspect adds an extra layer of complexity. It involves not just presenting
information but convincing the reader to adopt a particular viewpoint or take specific action.
This requires a nuanced understanding of rhetorical strategies, logical reasoning, and the ability
to anticipate and counter opposing arguments.
Research is another demanding aspect. The writer must delve into various sources to gather
credible and relevant information to support their claims. This involves sifting through academic
journals, articles, and reliable online resources to ensure the essay's accuracy and depth.
Furthermore, maintaining coherence and flow in the essay is essential. The challenge is to
seamlessly connect different ideas and arguments while keeping the reader engaged. This
demands strong organizational skills and a clear understanding of the essay's structure.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Interesting Persuasive Essay Topics" is a multifaceted task
that requires a combination of creativity, analytical thinking, and persuasive communication
skills. It's about selecting topics that are not only intriguing but also presenting them in a way
that captivates the audience and convinces them of the writer's perspective.

Old Man and the Sea A Man Can Be Destroyed but Not
Defeated
A man can be destroyed but not defeated In the Old man and the sea, Santiago says,
A man can be destroyed but not defeated. (Page 93) The true statement can be
referred to throughout the novel. Santiago is in the end physically destroyed, but
mentally he is not defeated. Santiago s courage and pride pushes him forward
throughout the novel, even when it looks like hope is lost, but is never defeated.
Destruction means to completely ruin or spoil. Santiago experienced this
destruction. It started with 84 days of not catching anything. He was being crushed
but his spirit and pride prevented defeat. During the fight with the marlin, he
physically was being destroyed. He had a choice to spare his life and let the fish go
but he knew he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Santiago is not the only person to be destroyed but still successful. Nelson Mandela
was an anti apartheid activist in South Africa. He was arrested for treason, and was
put in prison for about 27 years. He was losing, but he never gave up so when he
was freed he kept trying for equality between the whites and the blacks. His group
was able to finally get the first multi racial election in South Africa and Nelson
Mandela was declared president. He was able to lead apartheid South Africa into a
country of equality. Nelson Mandela was destroyed, but not defeated so he was
able to rise from the murky depths into leading a free nation for the first time. So
in conclusion, destroy really means to damage, while defeat means to give up. A
man can only take a certain amount of destruction before he succumbs to defeat.
So that would mean if a person were defeated, they would not worthy of the title
man. They would have the title coward . Sadly, it is hard to find real men in this
world today, but a few stand out like Nelson Mandela and Gandhi. Santiago is just
an example to the world that there are good people in this
Key Challenges Facing Tata Motors
1.What were the key challenges facing Tata Motors in the process of moving to
produce passenger cars from successfully producing commercial vehicles?
Tata motors was blended in the year 1945 to endorse Peninsular Locomotive works
in order to assemble steam locomotives and boilers. This was done before
independence. After the independence, the policy of the Industrial Act was revised.
New changes were done which include that the production of railway engines were
restrained to state owned business/company.
Tata motors Indica was the elementary car which was launched in the market beside

industry. Maruti 800 had a competitive advantage over the other competitors ... Show

Honda. But due to government rules and regulations the joint venture was not setup
and hence failed.
With the failure of the J.V. between the companies, Tata Motors decided to launch a
new product in the market. It was the year of 1988 when Tata Mobile came into the
market to compete with other LCV. It was little different from a normal LCV as it
was a combination of a Car and a LCV.
The market was popularized with the introduction of Tata sierra in 1992 which had
two doors and was used as a personal transport.
Then came the Tata sumo which was a great hit in the market. Year 1994 was the year
in which multi utility vehicle was launched.
This was one of the main divergent by Tata Motor from 207 to multi utility vehicle,
which set a record of 90000 booking for the car and till now it has a market share of
twenty %.
Tata Motors main spot light was on the chain of production i.e. from raw material
coming in to after sales service.
Tata motors redistributed the value of Tata Indica to the outsourced parties. The time
duration for manufacturing the car was reduced. Previously it took 48 mths but now
after outsourcing it took only 31 mths. The total cost estimated was seventeen hundred
Hispanic And Hispanics And Latinos In The United States
The word Hispanic is a blank umbrella that encompasses many different countries,
cultures, and people who have the Spanish language in common. Many Americans
refer to anyone south of the United States as being Hispanic and the Harvard
Encyclopedia of American Ethnic Groups define the term Hispanic as an easy way
to collectively refer to a growing number of Spanish origin or Spanish speaking
people in the United States. Unfortunately, this is how we categorize and report the
bulk of the research that we have gathered regarding Hispanics and Latinos in
America. This area of research is especially important as Latinos from Mexico and
Central and South America represent approximately 45% of the foreign born
population, and their children account for 22% of all children under of the age of 18
in the United States (Passel, 2006) The Hispanicpopulation is the fastest growing
immigrant and minority population in the United States, due to its close proximity to
the American border. They currently make up about 15 percent of the U.S.
population, and this figure is projected to nearly double to 29 percent by 2050 if
current demographic trends continue (Passel, 2008) . Having such a diverse Hispanic
population residing together in the United States has created a unique sub culture that
has intertwined their beliefs and customs into our American way of life. Everyone
that comes to this country comes for their own reasons but for many, the
determination is to provide a better
Is Hamlet Crazy
Hamlet by William Shakespeare is a play of love, deception, betrayal and death. The
death of king Hamlet set in motion a tragic chain of events. Hamlet Jr finds out
through the ghost of king Hamlet his death was not accidental rather murder a
heinous act committed by his own brother. Hamlet then under orders of his father
plans to seek revenge on Claudius which causes him to ponder and act up. Hamletis
seen as a lunatic as a madman because of his erratic behavior, but in reality, he is
not, he is affected by everything that is going on around him and his actions are
how he is coping. Hamlet has a whole in his heart because of the death of his
beloved father, his hero is gone and he is hurting because of this his depression

To illustrate, Polonius declares Yet he knew me not as first he; he said I as a
fishmonger he is far gone. And truly, in my youth, I suffered much extremity for
love, very near this (2, 2, 205 208). It is possible that for a moment Hamlet lost his
mind because of Ophelia s rejection it is just another problem added to the weight
on his shoulders. Love has the capability of destroying a person s life. For Hamlet
Ophelia s rejection was what made him lose himself for a moment, because she was
the person he loved and hoped he has been told by his father s ghost he was murdered
and asks him to get revenge, but this troubles Hamlet. He is not sure as to whether
what the ghost said is true. For example, Hamlet suggests The spirit that I have see
may be the devil and the devil hath power I assume a pleasing and yea and perhaps,
out of my weakness and my melancholy (2, 2, 627 630). . . Hamlet has just been
told by a ghost who appears to be his dead father that he must kill his uncle because
he killed him. This is a confusing situation which is obviously putting a lot of
stress on Hamlet, but he is not crazy, he is not the only who has seen this ghost
Horatio and the guards have seen it so it is real. The big issue is how is he to go
through with such a hard decision, end another person s life. He is being torn

Surrealism Of The Temptation Of Saint Anthony Essay
During the period between World War I and World War II, many people decided
that rationale had created the destruction left behind from the war and that it was
time to rely on the subconscious as a way to analyze the world. These people
became known as Surrealists. One of the most famous surrealist artists was Salvador
DalГ. DalГ s piece The Temptation of SaintAnthonyis a prime example of Surrealism.
Surrealist paintings are described as dreamlike and fantastical. Much of DalГ s
paintings were images he had dreamed up. He said that he would paint what almost
seem like photographs from his dreams. DalГ took Sigmund Freud s idea that dreams
are symbolic. Objects can symbolize something as well as take on a pun on the word.

The last elephant carries another tower that symbolizes a phallic figure. It is said that
the long legs of horse and elephants symbolize levitation and nearness to heaven.
However, the thinness of the legs could also symbolize weak legs holding up the
elephants and horse, weakly holding up the resistance to temptation. The woman on
the Cup of Desire and inside the temple are said to be reincarnated devils.
DalГ s surrealist The Temptation of Saint Anthony combines ideas and images that
are not possible in the physical world. Looking at the painting, the objects would
make no sense. However, if interpreted like people often interpret dreams, The
Temptation of Saint Anthony shows the story of the devil luring Saint Anthony.
Because these images are only possible in the subconscious, they are considered
surrealist.

Becoming A Young Child Is Not My Favorite Game
As a young child, Follow the Leader was not my favorite game; the idea of blinding
following someone who made all the decisions was not something I was ever
prepared to do. And, it certainly did not bring me any enjoyment when I was
forced to play. Although it seems like an oxymoron, being forced to play happened
to me quite frequently in my youth and young adulthood, and later, as single
mother, it seemed that was all I ever did was play follow the leader in every job I
had. Bossafter boss expected me to blindly submit to his or her directives even when
I knew they did not make sense.
Perhaps the worst moment was when the attorney for whom I was assigned to work
with in the firm, demanded that I delete mandatory language in a ... Show more

One text, Robinson s (2011) Out of Our Minds, was helpful because there were
plenty of concepts that I found myself responding to in disagreement, allowing me
to critically think through and understand my own style. Hallowell s (2011) Cycle
of Excellence, as described in Shine: Using Brain Science to Get the Best from Your
People, provided a strong backdrop to my new assumptions regarding leadership. I
was also greatly influenced by Nass Yen s (2012) social experiments using the
computer; some of those results I have already discussed with colleagues and utilize
in my classes and committee work; these works continue to foster me into a stronger
leader, which ultimately makes me a better teacher.

Imagination and Creativity
Creativity involves putting your imagination to work. In a sense, creativity is applied
imagination (Robinson, 2012, p.142). One of the many statements in this particular
text that made me think and respond with disagreement. First, I was proud of myself
that I felt strongly enough to voice the fact that I disagree with a leader in the field in
the development of creativity. Second, this statement is a logical fallacy similar to
the chicken and the egg conundrum. According to Robinson (2012) creativity is the
physical manifestation of the imagination, but without the muse of creation, there
would be no imagination. Creativity can spark the

It is important to use trend analysis and company comparisons when evaluating the
performance of a company. Using this information helps one determine if the
company is within acceptable ranges, or has gone off track into left field. When
specific areas of differences are noted, management can determine what steps need
to be taken to return to the track and head down the correct path. Trends and
comparisons are not just about finances, they are about ways to capture income and
increase net profits. The retail industry is one of the largest industries in the world,
by business numbers and employees. Plunkett Research Ltd. As of 2011 Wal Mart
was still the giant of the retail market. As Wal Mart nearest competitor Target heats
up the market, Target seems to be gaining in customer loyalty and has picked up on
Wal Marts grocery strategy. According to the Plunkett report, recession ravaged
consumers not only want dry goods at a discount, but they also want groceries
discounted (PlunkettResearch.Com, 2012). Target also has been gaining customers
who want stylish well organized stores that appeal to their senses. After researching
and reviewing the information that I gathered for this paper, I would invest in
Target as I believe that they have a profitable stable future. As a consumer I would
rather shop at Target than Wal Mart, they are less cluttered and better organized.

The Word Perseverance Is Necessary For The Lack Of...
Everyday, people struggle to get through simple tasks due to the lack of
perseverance. Merriam Webster s dictionary definition for the word perseverance
is a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or
opposition. In terms of usage, perseverance is used as a noun that comes from Latin
origin with per meaning through, and severus meaning sever. Synonyms of the
word consist of persist or to carry on, while antonyms are to give up or to quit.
Perseverance is an important trait due to the fact that without it, nothing will get
achieved. As soon as you run into trouble you will show weakness and just give up.

A second example from Temple Grandin would be when she could not figure out
how to build a model of a distorted house. Temple tried many different designs and
failed many different times. But that is how she got her results. Trial and error
states that you need to fail before you can succeed. That is how her life was and
how ours should be. Temple came across hurdles but she leaped over the top of
them all because eventually with enough time and effort, she succeeded. She thrived
in the face of adversity by continuing to try them over and over again. At this rate
nothing could stop her. She used the haters and motivation and fuel to keep the fire
inside her heart burning. They all doubted her and said she would never accomplish
anything, she ended up proving them all wrong. Now just as Temple Grandin was an
inspiration to us all, so is another woman named Melba Pattillo Beals. Melba was one
of the first nine african american students to integrate an all white school. So as
you can imagine, the citizens and parents of the Little Rock High School were not
happy about the integration. A quote on page 167 from the book, Warriors Don t
Cry says, The boys were brash and bold, behaving as if they feared no
consequences. This quote shows how terribly treated Melba was. She was cussed at,
physically abused, burned, spit on, and just broken down to the bone. But she didn t
let it get to her. It shows the author s purpose because Melba would not show
weakness.
Rock Collection Narrative
I m glad you, too, enjoyed my story about my rock collection. I m gearing up for the
Ravencon convention this weekend (if you happen to be there this weekend, look me
up).
I enjoy storytelling and most recently, I was advised by one of my mentors to get out
of my bubble and that I did. And this time, while visiting with friends, I met their new
family dog and was blessed to hold one of their new yellow chicks.
For a moment, I was transported back to my grandmother s house in Small Town,
Tennessee. I could smell the fresh Earth and hear all of the different livestock, fowl
and outside dogs that guarded the animals, just as they did the house, from any
predators. I recalled being a little girl dancing like no one watched, dreaming up
inventions,
Scopes Monkey Trial
Big Boys The Big Boys Newspaper was historically accurate in that the newspapers
date was 1929 and all the facts were correct. The newspaper felt more professional
than most of the other newspapers I reviewed and it felt like it was something that
the New York Times might release. It was easy to follow their train of thought and
understand. The only issue I have with their newspaper is their font seemed to
change a couple of times. They educated me on the topics of the Teapot Dome
Scandal and the Scopes Monkey trial. The Teapot Dome Scandal was caused
because of a lack of regulation in the United States Government. Albert Bacon Fall
had secretly granted the rights of the federal oil reserve to Harry Sinclair who was in

Fall was imprisoned under the account that he accepted a bribe. Sinclair was also
imprisoned under the account of bribery and criminal conspiracy, but only spent
six and a half months in prison. The Scopes Monkey trial involved John Scopes, a
high school science teacher, who was accused of teaching evolution, which was a
violation of Tennessee law. This law, which was passed in March of that year,
made it a misdemeanor punishable by fines to teach any ideology that denies the
idea of divine creationism. After being arrested, Scopes recieved the help of the
ACLU to organize a defense. After William Jennings Bryan heard of the trial, he
volunteered to assist the prosecution. Soon after, Clarence Darrow joined the ACLU
in the defence. Early on in the trial, the defence was set back as the Judge ruled
against their attempt at proving the law unconstitutional. Outside of the courthouse
there was a carnival like atmosphere with monkeys and vendors sold Bibles, toy
monkeys, hot dogs and lemonade. The Judge ruled that the expert scientific
testimony of evolution was inadmissible, as it was Scopes who was on trial, not the
law he broke. The next day, the trial continued outside, as they feared that the crowd

Orange Cat Garfield Comparison
Have you ever recognized similarities between you and someone from a book or
movie? To me, I share many similarities with a well known orange cat, Garfield.
Through our personality, characteristics, amongst other attributes, there are many
descriptions that make us similar to one another. Because of these descriptions and
attributes, there are many reasons as to why I am similar to Garfield.
First, a similarity that Garfield and I have in common is that we are both lazy.
Garfield is your typical cat; lays around the house, causing their owners immense
stress, and waiting for the meal given to them in the mornings, afternoons, and
evenings. I tend to procrastinate and wait until the last hour or so to do my work,
and would rather sleep when given the chance. Garfield and I both are also
sarcastic to an extent, and while the sarcasm within a pile of orange, black and
white pixels can only go so far, mine can travel interdimensionally. Finally, the last
trait Garfield and I share in terms of personality is that we are both defiant when the
situation calls for it. Garfield ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though he is a cat, and I am no more than a mere human being, we both share the
attribute of being slightly overweight. Well, that description would fit me better
than it would fit Garfield, as he probably weighs about a hundred pounds more
than your typical lazy tabby cat. His weight is often an object of ridicule in his
comic strips, as is my weight being an object of ridicule although in reality, it isn t
too severe. Garfield does not handle insults regarding his weight well, and will
often respond to remarks about such characteristic with a snide comeback or
violence. When that occurs, as opposed to how Garfield deals with it, I simply
shrug it off. As stated before, it s not that bad; however, it could be better with
exercise and an improved
Mother-Daughter Relationships In The Red Tent By Anita...
Importance of Mother Daughter Relationships in The Red Tent
The strong portrayal of mother daughter relationships in The Red Tent by Anita
Diamant results from the need women, like Leah and Dinah, had to share their life
stories, as well as to create a sense of community among the women living in a
patriarchal society.
Diamant places great emphasis on the importance of mother daughter relationships
since women could not share their memories and life stories any other way. Not
unlike the main protagonist, Dinah, women lived in a world controlled by men.
Every man had the control over every woman s decisions: their fathers, their
husbands, their sons. Due to the power imbalance, women had a hard time sharing
their memoirs. Their memories did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every female character in the novel has a strong community of women around her.
This sense of belonging was strengthened by the time spent in the red tent each
month, where men could not come in: It was unthinkable that a healthy man
would walk of his own will inside that place during the head of the month (Diamant
117) Men would not enter the red tent because it offered women a place to have for
themselves; besides, men did not wish to associate themselves with these places.
Unless injured, a healthy men would not want to be under a roof ruled by women.
The red tent served the purpose of bringing women close together, away from men
and away from their daily duties. In a patriarchal society, where men governed,
female relationships helped women cope with problems and misfortunes. Mothers
and daughters created a special tie thanks to the time shared in the tent. When Dinah
s mothers officially welcome her to the red tent Dinah realizes: Now I could pour
out wine and make bread offerings at the new moon, and soon I would learn the
secrets that pass between men and women. (Diamant 171) Dinah s relationship with
her mothers is fortified after belonging to the red tent. Since it served as a sanctuary,
her mothers would be able to communicate to her what she needs to know about the
world. The bond between Dinah and her mothers strengthened, a bond necessary to

Recent events have found UC Berkeley embroiled in controversy regarding Free

espousing hate speech which especially targets marginalized communities on campus

Dentistry And For Selecting Dentistry As A Profession Essay
. Give the reasons for your interest in dentistry and for selecting dentistry as a
profession: There are several reason why I have decided to pursue a career in
dentistry, one of them being my upbringing. Growing up in a socioeconomically
disadvantaged family, I have watched my parents forgo essential medical
treatment, in order to provide my siblings and I the basic necessities. For two
decades, my mother sacrificed her oral health; overtime the lack of care took its
toll and left her with diminished oralhealth. As a result my mother s self esteem
suffered, greatly altering her personality. Watching my mother suffer due to a lack
of proper oral care is the driving force in me to become a dentist. I want to be in a
position to ease suffering and provide oral health care to those in need. Coming from
an underserved community, I feel an obligation to give back to such communities.
While volunteering at dental clinics, I have noticed the commonality of health
disparities associated with those individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Often,
those of lower socioeconomic status tend to put off seeking preventive dental
services that often lead to chronic illnesses that are more difficult to treat. I find it
heartbreaking to know people s oral and overall health suffers because of their
socioeconomic state. With the large number of dentists projected to retire in the
upcoming years, there will be an increased shortage of dentists who are committed to
providing oral

healthy growth of the society. Children should grow into adulthood through love and
care, education and training. Health of the society depends upon the physical, moral
and spiritual development of its children. The awareness of the problem provided
basis for the enactment of the Employment of Children Act, 1991 followed by a
number of administrative and other initiatives to address the issue of child labour
effectively. Struggle against child labour gained further momentum when Pakistan s
trade privileges were adversely affected with the filing of cases against the... Show

Achievement Strategies National Action Plan for Elimination of Child Labour is
based on an integrated approach and will be implemented by actions at the federal
level, provincial level and district and local level. The National Action Plan aims at
reaching the target children in phased manner through various short and long term
strategies. The short term strategies include awareness raising; development and
dissemination of information; community mobilization; situation analysis,
establishment of monitoring and evaluation system; withdrawal of children from
exploitative labour on priority basis; and special protection to the most vulnerable
groups of child labour. The measures that would take a long run to achieve the
inherent objectives include, universalization of primary education, full
implementation of the law; empowerment of families/poverty alleviation; expansion
of social safety net, etc. Education and skill development of working children;
institutional capacity building; and strengthening of inspection services are among
some of the medium term strategies. Realizing that measures under the proposed
action plan shall remain limited, the feasibility of introducing Youth Apprenticeship
Scheme will be prepared. The Scheme would be intended to notify selected

Abraham Lincoln s Second Debate
In the effort to secure their own appointments to the U.S. Senate, Abraham Lincoln
and Stephen Douglas squared off in a series of seven debates in 1858. In the 1850s,
America was facing a political crisis, and slavery was threatening to tear the nation
apart. There were seven debates that took place between Abraham Lincolnand
Stephen Douglas. The two candidates for Senate challenged the other s ideas about
many topics but the most import was, slavery and its future in the United States.
Before the first debate took place, Abraham Lincoln addressed a crowd in Chicago,
which is known famously as the House Divided Speech. In his speech, Lincoln
attacked the doctrine of popular sovereignty. He said that it had clearly failed in its
goal of ending... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From August 21 until October 15, Stephen Douglas battled Abraham Lincoln in
face to face debates all around the state. The prize they sought to win was a seat in
the Senate. The debates were to be held at 7 locations throughout Illinois. During
the debates, Douglas still advocated popular sovereignty, which meant to maintain
the right of the citizens of a territory to permit or prohibit slavery. It was, a sacred
right of self government, or so he said. Lincoln proceeded to point out that Douglas
s position directly challenged the Dred Scott decision. This in which decreed that the
citizens of a territory had no such power. In what became known as the Freeport
Doctrine. Douglas replied that whatever the Supreme Court decided was not as
important as the actions of the citizens. If a territory refused to have slavery, no laws,
no Supreme Court ruling, would force them to permit it. Over and over again,
Lincoln made that point that a house divided could not stand. Douglas refuted this by
saying that the founders, left each state perfectly free to do as it pleased on the
subject. Lincoln felt that blacks were entitled to the rights enumerated in the
Declaration of Independence, which include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Douglas argued that the founders

On October 19th, 1781, British General Charles Cornwallis surrenders 8,000
British soldiers and seamen to French and American forces lead by General
George Washington at Yorktown, Virginia, ending the American Revolution. In the
past, Cornwallis had driven General George Washington s Patriot forces out of
New Jersey in 1776, and led his Redcoats in victory over General Horatio Gates and
the Patriots at Camden, South Carolina, in 1780. His following invasion of North
Carolina was less successful, however, and in April 1781, he led his weary and
battered troops toward the Virginia coast, where he could maintain seaborne lines of
communication with the large British army of General Henry Clinton in New York
City. After conducting a series of

Over the last 50 years there have been a lot of changes due to technology. Several
things have been replaced in relation to technology development. In an article by
Cynthia Wagner titled Top 10 disappearing futures many things are discussed and
examples have been given about how technology will soon replace several things that
we see daily and that have already been replaced in the past. Although these are only
examples of what may come out of the ever changing technology trends some present
a very real feeling and some may even hit close to home.
As I read the Top 10 disappearing futures , several of the futures stood out to me.

Summary Of Equiano s Middle Passage
1. Equiano and his sister are kidnapped from their home while their parents are
working in the fields. He is separated from his sister when he is sold into slavery;
he later reunites with her for one night until she is ripped away to be sold again.
He is sold to many different owners; the majority of them had a similar language
and culture as his, a few were completely different. On the sea coast aboard the
slave ship, Equiano faints; when Equiano regains consciousness he is forced below
the deck where he is confronted with an unbearable stench and constant crying, he
is so sick that he does not have an appetite and he wishes for death. 2. The Middle

tradition and customs in America more than any other African American group.
According to National Geographic An environmental impact statement published in

The research critically analyses the desired effects of the depression and the
antidepressants available for the depressions. Depression symptoms are commonly
seen among people of various ages. There are some of the antidepressants that are
initially recommended for overcoming the issues of depression. Some of the well
known methods have been used by many of the known researchers regarding the
topic of depression. Proper evaluation of the research methodology about depressions
will help in the better understanding of the mental state of the people suffering from
the diseases of depression. The evaluation of the two of the research papers

According to the research depression is an outcome of family, cultural, personal and
social circumstances. The main causes of depression are the stress factors such as
bereavement, abuse, the stress of divorce and sexual infidelity. Other kinds of
stressors like isolation and ageing, health problems, stigma, cultural distance are the
major difficulties faced by the people. The finding demonstrates the nature of an
individual of understanding depression and different management strategies used in
the primary care of the patients. The encouragement of the self help in the step care
models is recommended in the NICE guidelines of UK which may require more than
blanket application of self management tools and more systematic extracting of
strategies which enable an individual to develop on their existing strengths and
moving towards the recovery more effectively. The finding also reveals the depth of
traumatic and violent experiences suffered by the women due to depression. Many
women link their depressions with the heavy loss such as ill health, bereavement or
job related events. The approach of chronic disease management is becoming a
widespread practice of controlling depressive disorders of how the patients respond to
the approach in the primary care. The understanding of the symptoms is important to
understand the recurrent depression that may be problematic and

Applied Sociology Within the Family Essay
Applied Sociology within the Family Applied sociology is a part of everyday life.
Families experience sociological changes when parents get divorced, a new job is
taken, or they get discriminated against. Most people may not think of family as a
small society, micro level society, within itself. All families have a hierarchy of
power beginning with the head of the household which tends to be the father. The
way a familyforms its own small society is interesting. Family roles have change
dramatically. Fifty to sixty years ago, families were merely based on the degree of
precision and the roles performed by the parents. Now days the primary family roles
which were initially the husband s responsibility such as income, household repairs,...

Although a marital relationship begins before any other type of family relationship,
this fact does not mean that it is the easiest type to maintain. Gaining and maintaining
marital quality involves commitment, communication and certain adjustments for
each of the spouses. When the marital status of the parents becomes stressed, the
family can experience chaos and complete crises. When this happens, the structure
becomes unclear and the overall family becomes unable to function. I find it
interesting that the social function of the family can be impacted if only one
relationship is broken within the network.
The article Applying Applied Sociology in the Family describes the family unit as
a micro level society. The micro level is the smallest structure of society, but may
be the strongest. Family units consist of small groups of compatible people.
Guidelines are established to help control the functions of the family and also help
establish behaviors that in turn allow the individual society to be unique. Each
family has its own roles that each family member must uphold in order to have a
functional unit. The article gives an example of the roles in terms of a hierarchy
such as the father being the head of the household and a step down is the mother, a
partner to the father (Applied Sociology).
There are also specific characteristics of a family society being socialization,
segregation, ritual, and sanctioning. The first trait,
Hermia And Lysander Themes
Oberon is connected to some of the major themes of love in the play. The major
theme of course, being course of true love never did run smooth. And he is
connected to this theme in two different angles. One being with Titania. Both of them
are of course the fairy gods who, when they clash rip apart nature and ruin many a
humans lives. Imagine if they got along, but they don t. This is connected to how true
loves path isn t smooth, and this is particularly evident in their relationship. Another
way we can see how Oberon is connected to this theme is with his meddling in other
people s affairs. Such as when he creates the love juice and manufactures a situation
where Hermiaand Lysander s true love is broken apart seen in this example, when...

His love juice and its usage also shows another theme. Such as love is irrational.
When he uses his juice on Lysander, he also contributes to this theme when Lysander
springs up from his slumber and loves Helena seen here, Not Hermia, but Helena I
love (2.2 113). His sudden maturing and affection for Hermia which is of course is
due to Oberon s love juice, shows the theme of how love is irrational. With how
Lysander has loved Hermia, but all of a sudden loves Helena, and their is only one
explanation for it. And that is that love is an unexplainable thing with no
rationality whatsoever. The symbols I chose to represent the major themes Oberon
shows are hearts. One of the themes he shows is that love is irrational for this I
have the pi symbol inside of a heart. The heart more obviously represents love and
pi is the most famous example of an irrational number, therefore when pairing the
two together you get a symbol which represents one of the major themes in the play.
The other symbol I chose to represent the other theme Oberon contributes to which is
course of true love never did run smooth is a broken heart with a piece of tape

Religion Affects Daily Life
How does Religion Affect Daily Lives?
The purpose of religion is to control yourself, not to criticise others. Dalai Lama.
Religion is not something people blindly follow for the hope of reaching heaven. At
one point or another in life, every person encounters the moment where they make the
decision of being an active religious person, a religious person but don t attend
church, or don t believe in a superior power. Whether a person chooses option one,
two, or three, each choice brings consequences and a different life with that choice.
People live a different kind of life, with different goals to reach, and what kind of life
a person may want to live. Religion has a profound effect on people s daily lives, and
the areas it affects are work life, family life, and the standards a person holds.
Work Life
It happens to everyone, people are at work (or school) and have a project due on
Monday, but they see the clock ticking closer and closer to 5pm, and have that urge
to slip out a few mins early so they can get ahead of schedule on ordering the wings
and pizza and getting good movie tickets. The consequence of doing this is the
person having to choose whether to finish the project on Saturday, Sunday, or if the
person really wants to push it, Monday morning. So what option are you going to
take?
Work Smarter, Not Harder
Full time committed religious people know the regular weekend schedule. Saturday
is the day to sleep in, cook some good breakfast, and take the kids
The Stereotypes Of Misogyny
In order to understand the broad topic of misogyny, it must first be recognized. The
oppression of women in society can be found in many aspects of daily life, current
events, and in human history. Specifically, this misogyny is largely observed from
the way in which the female narrative is suppressed. In How to Date a Brown Girl
(Black Girl, White Girl, or Halfie) by Junot Diaz, the femalevoice is silenced, leaving
room for stereotypes to emerge and sexist and racist undertones to run throughout the
text. As the protagonist, Yunior, gives the readers instructions for how to date
different women largely on the basis of their race, financial stability, or
neighborhood, it becomes clear that he has firm opinions on these women; but does...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yunior s narrow mindset also silences the female voice by delegitimizing the woman
s history or credibility. An example of this is when Yunior explains women s
predictability. A halfie will tell you that her parents met in the Movement, will say,
Back when people thought it was a radical thing to do (Diaz 2) According to
Yunior, all girls who are halfies have the same family history with the same
intrinsic details to top their stories. His commentary reveals how uninterested he
truly is in what the girl has to say by giving her a false sense of adequacy.
Moreover, he starts disregarding her originality while purposely concealing his
imminent lack of sympathy. This disrespect to the female s background and Yunior
s dismissive feelings surrounding it silence the girl s voice by not allowing her to
take pride in her background. Yunior is explicit in his doubt surrounding his date s
credibility and originality. As a result, his doubts lead him to believe that the girl s
family history wasn t truly radical or difficult. Dismissing her family s struggles
(whether they are common or not) silences the female s voice by doubting her
credibility.
Whether used appraisingly or negatively, the power of language can shape how
social groups stand in society. Moreover, derogatory language against women is a
commonly used way of demeaning their value. The first example comes on the first
page, as

How Did Jane Addams Respond To The Prevalence Of...
At the turn of the 20th century, increasing vigilance of women led to the focus of
placing responsibility on both men and women for the corruption of sex workers.
Both genders had a responsibility for the prevalence of prostitution as well as to
finding a solution to a prevalent problem in metropolitan areas such as Chicago.
However, rather than providing financial or social resources to help victims of
prostitutionform relationships and earn a respectable place in society, many
progressive and feminists reformers as part of the Feminist Movement argued for the
creation of vice commissions in order to gather evidence and research on the
connections between prostitution and structured crime. This led to the persecution of
prostitutes and the long term establishment of the criminal industry due to the
infrastructure and legal foundations for the processing and cracking down on the
Social Evil . However, there were individuals such as Jane Addamswho worked
tirelessly to improve the conditions of sex workers and those who recently left the
profession, but she knew that there was a great divide between the public and the
women who had been abused and used for one of the worst sins society has
prevalent within it. She accepted the task and took it in strides for she knew that it
would take empathetic cooperation on the sides of those in political/legal positions
in collaboration with citizens and those attempting to better their lives as well as the

Influence Of Parental Figure In Frankenstein
Parents are everyone s first role models. Regardless of biological relation, those
who raise us have a profound influence on the way we perceive and interpret life.
Parents instil our first sense of morality and empathy as well as our development of
social skills. No matter how relentlessly one may attempt to have no resemblance to
their parents, it is an inevitability of life that we will harness aspects of their influence
and carry them though our existence. In Mary Shelley s, Frankenstein, the influence
of parental figures is displayed by the morals and values instilled in the monster. In
order to understand the roles of parental figures in the novel, one must look at those
who influenced the author. Mary Shelley was born the daughter... Show more content

The creature is brought into the world with no knowledge of his purpose nor a

Dr. Frankenstein. Victor acknowledges his responsibility toward the creature saying,
The innocent and helpless creature bestowed on them by heaven, whom to bring up

according as they fulfilled their duties towards me. At this point Victor realizes that
the creature was not acting out of self motivation, rather, it was performing in a
manner that it had interpreted as being correct based on its observation of people,
such as the doctor. The monster, too, acknowledges that it is influenced by the
actions of those around it. After terrifying cottagers and feeling immensely depressed

Their ability to be completely civil and kind hearted toward one another brings it

Value creation means increase the value of products, service and even business to

2. What environmental and behavioral factors led to Joseph s dehydration?
Joseph s dehydration was caused by many events. Joseph had to play a variety of
positions for a duration of three hours. The best drink to drink when dehydrated is
water, because energy drinks can disrupt your bodies normal functions, and cause
you to be even more dehydrated! His body was working hard and he didn t have the

During dehydration, a large amount of sodium is lost.)
Due to the lack of sodium in Joseph s body caused by dehydration, End plate

themselves into. In 1906, Upton Sinclair, a writer during the gilded age, wrote a
novel, The Jungle, in which took place inside work factories. He expressed the fact
that the work was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They would have no nails, they had worn them off pulling hides; their knuckles
were swollen so that their fingers spread out like a fan. (Sinclair, 1906) He stated
this to point out that the workers had horrible conditions in the workshops and
they needed to be justified in that state. Similarly, a recent article ,Labor in
Progressive Era Politics, expressed an event of deaths in a workshop located in
New York in 1911; this event is well known by the name The Triangle Fire. In the
article it states that the Triangle Shirtwaist Company in New York killed 146
garment workers in 1911, public outrage prompted the creation of a state commission
to study the origins of the fire and the conditions of industrial workplace. (Unknown)
This event was not only tragic, but also a huge spark of the idea that the
marginalization shall be no more. They were going to do what they needed to
overcome the working conditions.
To overcome the harsh and terrible working conditions, workers decided to go on
strikes to catch the attention of the big guys so they can make improvements in
the workshops. Many of the strikes were unsuccessful, stopped, or ignored. The
strikes went on for about twenty years, a few of them were: The Great Strike,1877;
Haymarket Riot,1886; Homestead Strike, 1892; Pullman Strike, 1894. In a Speech
given by Eugene Debs he had said To realize this great social ideal is a work of
education, and organization. The working classes
Heterosexual Natural And Homosexual Aberrant Axiom
heterosexual natural/homosexual aberrant axiom, by subjecting them to new and
different interpretations. A new and different interpretation of the deconstructed
sexual axiom in Vietnam allows white and black GIs to pursue sexual consolation
indirectly with each other, where they otherwise would not pursue it in America.
The new and different interpretations of the racial and sexual binaries also expose
the primary violence that creates binaries and accommodates the human desire for
transcendence. The racial and sexual triad creates a new binary opposition; it
repositions white and black males as essential and Vietnamese women as secondary.
The poem s black narrator ignores this new binary opposition, or stabilization of

Not only does Tu Do Street[ s] narrator employ the Vietnamese prostitutes to expose
the nebulous distinction between racial and sexual binary oppositions, he employs
them to expose the nebulous distinction between lover and enemy, as well. He asserts
that the Vietnamese prostitutes do not distinguish between lovers and enemies: we
fought / the brothers of these women / we now run to hold in our arms (24 26). The
narrator refuses to identify the prostitutes and their brothers as North or South
Vietnamese, prompting at least two interpretations of these lines. First, America
officially identifies the communist North Vietnamese as enemies. This American
lover/North Vietnamese enemy binary stabilizes America s participation in the war
by assigning a natural origin to the hostilities. It sanctions America s participation, by
divine mandate, to liberate South Vietnam from Communism. If the brothers are
North Vietnamese enemies, the prostitutes sexual consolation of American lovers
appears irrational, and through their consolation, the Vietnamese prostitutes forge a
strange nexus between the American lovers and its official enemies. Once again, the
prostitutes create a triad from a binary. The triad delimits the binary opposition and
deconstructs its implicit lover (American essential human)/enemy (North
Distracted Driving Research Paper
Distracted driving is obviously a big deal but some people don t seem to think so.
They see all the accidents that happen because of distracted driving but they
continue to do it because they think oh it ll never happen to me or it doesn t happen
to anyone i know so why would it happen to me well it can happen to anyone at
anytime. While you may have your phone out because of an emergency going on, all
distractions, including make up,food, and phones should be put up while drivingand if
there are passengers in the car they need to be quiet so that the driver can focus. If
the driver has out a distraction while driving, they re going to try to pay attention
to the road and the distraction, in other words they try to multitask. 31% of U.S
drivers ages 18 64 admitted to sending or reading a text while driving , in 2012
3,328 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver. When you re
driving, be considerate.Put down your phone while you re driving, if you know it s
not safe then why do it.Think about other drivers on the road, by texting and driving
you re not only putting yourself at risk you re putting others lives at risk too. We
need tougher laws on texting and driving just... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Cochlear Hearing Aid
For a very long time, researchers sought for ways to provide those with severe
hearing loss the ability to hear. Unfortunately, this issue was not bypassed until
1972; however, many people are grateful a compromise was made. Cochlear
hearing aids were marketed as an answer for people with profound hearing loss to
be able to hear. The incredible cochlear hearing aid has consisted of an external part
and an internal part ever since it was first implanted in 1972. As explained by
American Speech Hearing Language Association, cochlear hearing aids work beyond
the damaged the auditory nerve because ... the damaged hair cells are bypassed, and
the auditory nerve is stimulated directly ( Cochlear Implants ). Well known news talk

Hearing aids, especially cochlear hearing aids, are crucial to enhancing life
experiences for those who receive them. An individual with a disability, such as
severe hearing loss, should never stop pursuing who they want to be. A precious
story that took place recently at the Emory University Medical Hospital in Atlanta,
Georgia, was about a father who has lost his hearing and his son who was born with
next to no hearing. According to Emory News Center, Thirty five year old Randy
Adams and his 16 month old son Maxwell have a bond that most other father son
pairs won t share. They both have genetic defects of the inner ear, leaving Randy
nearly deaf and son, Maxwell completely deaf ( Father, son share special bond;
both receive cochlear implants to improve hearing, speech ). Both Randy Adams
and his son Maxwell received cochlear implants within months of each other and
are currently in speech therapy together. This tear jerking story will forever impact
the both of their lives, and it is all made possible thanks to Alessandro Volta who
started doing research for cochlear implants in the 1800s and all the researchers
who dedicated time to developing and improving hearing aids. Cochlear hearing
aids are definitely one of the best innovations ever created, solely because of the joy
on peoples face when they hear for the first
Strategic Alliance
Strategic Alliance
In today s ever changing environments strategic alliances have emerged as a driving
force behind the success of many business ventures. Strategic alliances allow
companies to expand their reach without having to maximise their risk or commit
themselves beyond their core business. Throughout this paper I will be examining the
driving forces behind strategic alliances looking predominately at the motivations
behind the formation of a strategic alliance and the idea of a multi company alliance.
Following this I will be analysing the key elements that make for a successful
strategic alliance and how a successful alliances are measured. After which I will be
establishing the risk that are pronounced when entering into such ... Show more

The increase need to compete and stay ahead of competition my also facilitate the
idea of a multi company alliance. Whereas numerous organisation join together
under the same objective to enhance their product or service. For example Qantas
airlines recognises that it cannot travel to every corner of the global so it like many
other airlines has entered into an alliance that brings together ten of the world s
biggest and best airlines, all committed to providing world class service and value.
This alliance not only strengthens the companies but sees the risks of entering into
new markets spread across the board.
Companies often enter into alliances to gain more market share not only in their
market but within affiliated markets. This is often an endeavour or tactic used by
organisations that are at the top of their market and are looking to expanded or take
second curve action into to related markets, in order to stay highly competitive. An
example of this is Nortel and Microsoft whom in July 2006 entered into a strategic
alliance based on a shared vision for unified communications. This seeing both
companies create potential new business opportunities, put pressure on their
competitors as they reduce prices and gain access to a larger market share.
What makes for successful strategic alliances?
Reasons that can be attributed to the success of
Richard Nixon Legacy
When people think of Richard Nixon the Watergate scandal may come to mind.
Impeachment might also come to mind, but contrary to popular thought he was
never truly impeached. Notably, the only impeached presidents are Andrew
Johnson and Bill Clinton. Yet, Nixon has a strong public disapprobation. Most of
Richard Nixon s legacy remains surrounded by negativity, but is there anything
positive or noteworthy regarding Nixon s presidency? Due to the Watergate
scandal, people tend to overlook many aspects of Richard Nixon, to include, his
background, his actual involvement in Watergate, and his legacy. So, who exactly
was the Richard Nixon? In a very broad sense, he was the 37th president of the
United States. Before his tenure as the 37th president, according to Conrad Black,
Richard Nixon, under his father s influence, was already interested in politics, and
already a Republican, by 1920 (11). Likewise, Nixon s early interest in politics that
would lead to his election as a California congressman, in 1946, and sequentially, a
state Senator, in 1950. Like many other US presidents, Richard Nixon had a rich
history in politics before winning the presidency. But unlike other presidents, Nixon
already had controversy surrounding him before he ever reached the oval office. In
1952, Nixon was amidst rumors of questionable funding,... Show more content on

According to Tony McConnell, Nixon was the first president to consider a basic
income and was the originator of the Environmental Protection Agency (28). Just like
any other president, Nixon made his own policies and impacts on America. Another
noteworthy topic of Nixon s legacy is his foreign policy. McConnell notes that it
could only have been... [Nixon] to make common cause with the Chinese against the
Soviet Union (29). Nixon established nuclear arms control with Russia during the
Cold War and establish the diplomatic openings with

Interesting Persuasive Essay Topics

  • 1. Interesting Persuasive Essay Topics Crafting an essay on the topic of "Interesting Persuasive Essay Topics" can pose a unique set of challenges. The difficulty lies in the need to not only identify captivating subjects but also to present them in a compelling and persuasive manner. The process requires a thorough understanding of the target audience, an ability to research and gather relevant information, and the skill to articulate arguments persuasively. One challenge is the subjective nature of what might be deemed "interesting" since individual preferences vary. What engages one person might not captivate another. Therefore, striking a balance between uniqueness and universal appeal becomes crucial. Additionally, the writer must navigate through a sea of potential topics, choosing those that are not only attention-grabbing but also offer room for in-depth exploration and discussion. Moreover, the persuasive aspect adds an extra layer of complexity. It involves not just presenting information but convincing the reader to adopt a particular viewpoint or take specific action. This requires a nuanced understanding of rhetorical strategies, logical reasoning, and the ability to anticipate and counter opposing arguments. Research is another demanding aspect. (Page 93) The true statement can be referred to throughout the novel. Santiago is in the end physically destroyed, but mentally he is not defeated. Santiago s courage and pride pushes him forward throughout the novel, even when it looks like hope is lost, but is never defeated. Destruction means to completely ruin or spoil. Santiago experienced this destruction. It started with 84 days of not catching anything. He was being crushed but his spirit and pride prevented defeat. Santiago is not the only person to be destroyed but still successful. Nelson Mandela was an anti apartheid activist in South Africa. He was arrested for treason, and was put in prison for about 27 years. He was losing, but he never gave up so when he was freed he kept trying for equality between the whites and the blacks. His group was able to finally get the first multi racial election in South Africa and Nelson Mandela was declared president. He was able to lead apartheid South Africa into a country of equality. Nelson Mandela was destroyed, but not defeated so he was able to rise from the murky depths into leading a free nation for the first time. So in conclusion, destroy really means to damage, while defeat means to give up. A man can only take a certain amount of destruction before he succumbs to defeat. So that would mean if a person were defeated, they would not worthy of the title man. They would have the title coward . Sadly, it is hard to find real men in this world today, but a few stand out like Nelson Mandela and Gandhi. Santiago is just an example to the world that there are good people in this

It was little different from a normal LCV as it was a combination of a Car and a LCV. Hispanic And Hispanics And Latinos In The United States The word Hispanic is a blank umbrella that encompasses many different countries, cultures, and people who have the Spanish language in common. Many Americans refer to anyone south of the United States as being Hispanic and the Harvard Encyclopedia of American Ethnic Groups define the term Hispanic as an easy way to collectively refer to a growing number of Spanish origin or Spanish speaking people in the United States. Unfortunately, this is how we categorize and report the bulk of the research that we have gathered regarding Hispanics and Latinos in America. This area of research is especially important as Latinos from Mexico and Central and South America represent approximately 45% of the foreign born population, and their children account for 22% of all children under of the age of 18 in the United States (Passel, 2006) The Hispanicpopulation is the fastest growing immigrant and minority population in the United States, due to its close proximity to the American border. They currently make up about 15 percent of the U.S. population, and this figure is projected to nearly double to 29 percent by 2050 if current demographic trends continue (Passel, 2008) . Having such a diverse Hispanic population residing together in the United States has created a unique sub culture that has intertwined their beliefs and customs into our American way of life. Merriam Webster s dictionary definition for the word perseverance is a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. In terms of usage, perseverance is used as a noun that comes from Latin origin with per meaning through, and severus meaning sever. Synonyms of the word consist of persist or to carry on, while antonyms are to give up or to quit. Perseverance is an important trait due to the fact that without it, nothing will get achieved. As soon as you run into trouble you will show weakness and just give up. Temple Grandin, a woman with autism never gave up. She had to process the world in a different way... Temple tried many different designs and failed many different times. But that is how she got her results. Trial and error states that you need to fail before you can succeed. That is how her life was and how ours should be. Temple came across hurdles but she leaped over the top of them all because eventually with enough time and effort, she succeeded. She thrived in the face of adversity by continuing to try them over and over again. At this rate nothing could stop her. She used the haters and motivation and fuel to keep the fire inside her heart burning. They all doubted her and said she would never accomplish anything, she ended up proving them all wrong. Now just as Temple Grandin was an inspiration to us all, so is another woman named Melba Pattillo Beals. Melba was one of the first nine african american students to integrate an all white school. So as you can imagine, the citizens and parents of the Little Rock High School were not happy about the integration. A quote on page 167 from the book, Warriors Don t Cry says, The boys were brash and bold, behaving as if they feared no consequences. This quote shows how terribly treated Melba was. Through our personality, characteristics, amongst other attributes, there are many descriptions that make us similar to one another. Because of these descriptions and attributes, there are many reasons as to why I am similar to Garfield. First, a similarity that Garfield and I have in common is that we are both lazy. Garfield is your typical cat; lays around the house, causing their owners immense stress, and waiting for the meal given to them in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I tend to procrastinate and wait until the last hour or so to do my work, and would rather sleep when given the chance. Garfield and I both are also sarcastic to an extent, and while the sarcasm within a pile of orange, black and white pixels can only go so far, mine can travel interdimensionally. For two decades, my mother sacrificed her oral health; overtime the lack of care took its toll and left her with diminished oralhealth. This in which decreed that the citizens of a territory had no such power. In what became known as the Freeport Doctrine. Douglas replied that whatever the Supreme Court decided was not as important as the actions of the citizens. If a territory refused to have slavery, no laws, no Supreme Court ruling, would force them to permit it. Over and over again, Lincoln made that point that a house divided could not stand. Douglas refuted this by saying that the founders, left each state perfectly free to do as it pleased on the subject. Lincoln felt that blacks were entitled to the rights enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, which include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Douglas argued that the founders

Families experience sociological changes when parents get divorced, a new job is taken, or they get discriminated against. Most people may not think of family as a small society, micro level society, within itself. All families have a hierarchy of power beginning with the head of the household which tends to be the father. The way a familyforms its own small society is interesting. Family roles have change dramatically. Fifty to sixty years ago, families were merely based on the degree of precision and the roles performed by the parents. Now days the primary family roles which were initially the husband s responsibility such as income, household repairs,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although a marital relationship begins before any other type of family relationship, this fact does not mean that it is the easiest type to maintain. Gaining and maintaining marital quality involves commitment, communication and certain adjustments for each of the spouses. When the marital status of the parents becomes stressed, the family can experience chaos and complete crises. When this happens, the structure becomes unclear and the overall family becomes unable to function. I find it interesting that the social function of the family can be impacted if only one relationship is broken within the network. The article Applying Applied Sociology in the Family describes the family unit as a micro level society. The micro level is the smallest structure of society, but may be the strongest. Family units consist of small groups of compatible people. Guidelines are established to help control the functions of the family and also help establish behaviors that in turn allow the individual society to be unique. Each family has its own roles that each family member must uphold in order to have a functional unit. The article gives an example of the roles in terms of a hierarchy such as the father being the head of the household and a step down is the mother, a partner to the father (Applied Sociology). There are also specific characteristics of a family society being socialization, segregation, ritual, and sanctioning. The first trait,

His sudden maturing and affection for Hermia which is of course is due to Oberon s love juice, shows the theme of how love is irrational. Religion is not something people blindly follow for the hope of reaching heaven. At one point or another in life, every person encounters the moment where they make the decision of being an active religious person, a religious person but don t attend church, or don t believe in a superior power. Whether a person chooses option one, two, or three, each choice brings consequences and a different life with that choice. People live a different kind of life, with different goals to reach, and what kind of life a person may want to live. Religion has a profound effect on people s daily lives, and the areas it affects are work life, family life, and the standards a person holds. Work Life It happens to everyone, people are at work (or school) and have a project due on Monday, but they see the clock ticking closer and closer to 5pm, and have that urge to slip out a few mins early so they can get ahead of schedule on ordering the wings and pizza and getting good movie tickets. The consequence of doing this is the person having to choose whether to finish the project on Saturday, Sunday, or if the person really wants to push it, Monday morning. So what option are you going to take? Work Smarter, Not Harder Full time committed religious people know the regular weekend schedule. Saturday is the day to sleep in, cook some good breakfast, and take the kids
  • 32. The Stereotypes Of Misogyny In order to understand the broad topic of misogyny, it must first be recognized. The oppression of women in society can be found in many aspects of daily life, current events, and in human history. Specifically, this misogyny is largely observed from the way in which the female narrative is suppressed. In How to Date a Brown Girl (Black Girl, White Girl, or Halfie) by Junot Diaz, the femalevoice is silenced, leaving room for stereotypes to emerge and sexist and racist undertones to run throughout the text. As the protagonist, Yunior, gives the readers instructions for how to date different women largely on the basis of their race, financial stability, or neighborhood, it becomes clear that he has firm opinions on these women; but does... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yunior s narrow mindset also silences the female voice by delegitimizing the woman s history or credibility. An example of this is when Yunior explains women s predictability. A halfie will tell you that her parents met in the Movement, will say, Back when people thought it was a radical thing to do (Diaz 2) According to Yunior, all girls who are halfies have the same family history with the same intrinsic details to top their stories. His commentary reveals how uninterested he truly is in what the girl has to say by giving her a false sense of adequacy. Moreover, he starts disregarding her originality while purposely concealing his imminent lack of sympathy. This disrespect to the female s background and Yunior s dismissive feelings surrounding it silence the girl s voice by not allowing her to take pride in her background. Yunior is explicit in his doubt surrounding his date s credibility and originality. As a result, his doubts lead him to believe that the girl s family history wasn t truly radical or difficult. Dismissing her family s struggles (whether they are common or not) silences the female s voice by doubting her credibility. Whether used appraisingly or negatively, the power of language can shape how social groups stand in society. Moreover, derogatory language against women is a commonly used way of demeaning their value. The first example comes on the first page, as

Both genders had a responsibility for the prevalence of prostitution as well as to finding a solution to a prevalent problem in metropolitan areas such as Chicago. However, rather than providing financial or social resources to help victims of prostitutionform relationships and earn a respectable place in society, many progressive and feminists reformers as part of the Feminist Movement argued for the creation of vice commissions in order to gather evidence and research on the connections between prostitution and structured crime. This led to the persecution of prostitutes and the long term establishment of the criminal industry due to the infrastructure and legal foundations for the processing and cracking down on the Social Evil . However, there were individuals such as Jane Addamswho worked tirelessly to improve the conditions of sex workers and those who recently left the profession, but she knew that there was a great divide between the public and the women who had been abused and used for one of the worst sins society has prevalent within it.
