Richard Wagner s Work As A Conductor
Richard Wagner Biography Richard Wagner was born May 22, 1813 in Leipzig, Germany. Richard
Wagner was many things, including a composer, theatre director, polemicist, and a conductor. Wagner
was born as one of nine children of his father Carl Friedrich Wagner. Carl was a clerk in the police
service and died 6 months after Wagner was born. His step father was an actor and a playwright who
had a big influence on Wagner and his style of music. After his step father died, he was sent to
boarding school where he spent some time as a playwright who was influenced by Shakespeare and
Goethe. Later Wagner enrolled in Leipzig University. Wagner moved to Magdeburg where he worked
as a musical director in an opera house. Following this he moved to Riga and fled debts he owed.
After bouncing around he finally moved to Paris in 1839. Then moving back to Germany in 1942
where he wrote new operas and worked as a conductor, but also did work as a revolutionary which
was the reason for him having to leave Germany. Wagner settled in Zurich, Switzerland. For the first
five years of his stay in Switzerland he focused on writing essays, after that he focused on writing new
pieces of art that he called dramas. Wagner then moved to Venice continuing his trend of moving
around. Wagner later moved back to Paris in 1859 to watch over a revision of the opera Tannhauser.
With his exile being lifted in 1862, Wagner moved to Biebrich, Germany. Up until that point in 1862
Wagner had many financial

Theme Of Mise En Scene In The Godfather
The American films The Godfather I and II directed by Francis Ford Coppola, included mise en scene
to emphasize certain characteristics and themes during both films. In this essay I will discuss how
mise en scene was used to portray the lives of the Mafia families in the 1940s and 50s.
The mise en scene in The Godfather I, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, plays a huge role in how the
film is perceived by viewers. Mise En Scene is characterized as, The arrangement of everything that
appears in the framing actors, lighting, décor, props, and costume (elementsofcinema.com). The
Godfather utilizes mise en scene perfectly. Coppola combined all the right components of a typical
mafia film and made something extraordinary. From the clothing, to the homes, to the cars, and
lighting; The Godfather was executed wonderfully. Lighting plays a huge part in The Godfather. The
first scene opens with only one man talking, in low light. The relaxed lighting makes the scene intense
and leaving the audience with a sense of fear. With the light just appearing on the man s face, the
foundation is totally dark, highlighting the threatening tone of the scene. This scene uses the same
lighting elements as chiaroscuro paintings would have. If you were to pause the scene at certain points
you would be able to see the rembrandt light and the strong tonal contrasts between light and dark.
Different props are also used throughout the film. When you think about the Mafia, you think Italian

Value Summer Reading
The value of Summer Reading: Once upon a time, when there was no internet, smartphones or any
wireless devices we had books. My library card is still one of my fondest childhood summertime
memories. I was so lucky to have a librarian aunt who literally fostered the love of reading not just in
me but in all my cousins. I d go to her library all summer long to get books, any type and any genre of
books. Summer was the only time that I was allowed to stay up late most of the nights to devour my
books. However, children today would rather to play computer games, watch TV or spend their time
online. But how can we make sure kids choose a book over a screen when they re looking for fun?
The key word is choice. According to a new research by

Homelessness Is A Serious Social Problem
Homelessness in America has been a considered a serious social problem for at least thirty to forty
years, affecting thousands upon thousands of people in all regions of the country. The individuals and
families that make up the homeless population face struggles every day that many of us may never
even experience in our entire lives. There are many factors that either contribute to or directly cause
homelessness. Unfortunately, many people in our society believe that homelessness is a personal
problem and should be up to the individual to fix. However, homelessness is actually a very serious
social problem that we all need to be concerned about and work together to bring it to an end. The
American society is so accustomed to labeling each other just by looks, clothing, and other material
goods. Power, wealth, and prestige seem to be the only things that many people want to live for, and
those people do not attempt to put themselves in other peoples shoes, especially not the shoes of a
homeless person. This is a terrible habit that has been such a huge part of our society for so long that a
lot of people do not even see the problem with it. They may not even realize how wrong and terrible it
is to label someone just by their looks or their life situation. But since we have done it for hundreds of
years, we all continue to do it and see no problem with it. Many people in our society label homeless
people as lazy, unmotivated, and even less intelligent than themselves just

Jerry Lewis Analysis
Citric of the critic a critical thought.
In both of the articles referring to Lewis neither make very good arguments in my opinion, which is
the point/goal of many critics: to gain (or at least appeal to) an audience that has their point of views
and to establish a reputation as a writer and a critic which develops a following and somehow makes
them qualified to tell their readers what is good and/or bad. Both articles take the stance of
stereotyping cultures and what they think when it comes to Jerry Lewis. Stereotyping is a problem in
the world, something which I feel is the point of many critics but does not sit well with me. They take
the time to watch a movie and offer their view point on the film, dissecting and diagnosing the film in

As a critic and writer the author loses his reader in the first paragraph making it difficult to want to
continue reading, American Fascination with the French critical application of Lewis. (Selig 42) Who
cares what other countries critics view films produced in other countries? If the French like Lewis let
them like Lewis, it s their choice and opinion. American critics were worried about how the French
perceived and stereotyped American s, undermine the presentation of a unified male subject and thus
the conventional Hollywood representation of Masculinity. (Selig 46) How the French view American
males during the time is not the fault of Lewis. His work was appealing to the French (and many
American movie goers) because he was making comedies to lighten the mood of the times. From the
information in both articles an argument for or against Lewis got lost and became more about how
American critics perceived the French interpretation of Lewis as an auteur. That is the French were
more impressed with Lewis because of his style in presenting the topics within his films. American
critics seemed to be appalled that Lewis was the French s perception of what American male life was
like. However, Is it ok that Americans think of the French as all having berets, wearing black and
white striped shirts, riding bikes with baguettes in their basket? This is an American stereotype vs the
French who may think all American males are funny and stupid acting and will do anything for love

New York University Trademark Case Study
Establishing a strong brand is critical to business success. Protecting a brand is equally as important.
According to Law for Recreation Sport Managers, they discuss on what exactly is a trademark and is
recognized as any word, name, symbol, or device, or any combination thereof, adopted or used by
some entity to identify their goods and distinguish them from those manufactured or sold by others
(Cotten Wolohan, 2017). The purpose of a trademark is to protect the owner and to prevent others
from using the mark in a way that will cause confusion. In this case, The University of New York
(UNY) has filed for federal trademark registration their name and logo, however, the New York
Yankees and New York University (NYU) filed an objection on their own expressing that UNY
infringed on the Yankees logo and also infringed on the name of New York University as well. ...

The New York Yankees are more likely to win, since the owner previously has federally registered this
trademark before. Also, they are nationally well known globally and their trademark of the NY has
been used by them for decades. On the other hand, New York University is less likely going to win,
considering that, the name of New York University (NYU) are similar, however, it will be extremely
difficult to prove, since they are both designed differently than one another. For example, their initials
and logo are less likely to cause any confusion with New York University

The Importance Of Music Therapy
A bullet to the left of the brain almost caused Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, a permanent
speech imparity. Gabrielle experienced aphasia (a language disorder that stops communication), but
she participated in music therapy for healing. She learned how to think straightforwardly by matching
the lyrics of the song to the rhythm and the melody. In the right side of the brain, singing abilities
occur, but on the left side people can work around the injury by dropping the melody after they sing
their thoughts (Harvard). Eventually, due to this music therapy process, Gabrielle recovered and got
her speech ability back. Even though music is used everyday as entertainment, it can also be used as a
treatment option to help people. Music therapy has been able to help people communicate and it has
recovered speech and hearing imparities. Music therapy is the use of music elements by music
therapist to help restore and maintain physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. Music therapy
opens a path of communication for people who have trouble communicating through words. Doctors
should use music therapy more as a treatment in hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers.
Participating in music therapy was found to help people who experience self esteem issues and
depression. A scientific study was performed by a group of scientist in Poole, England to prove
whether or not music lessened the amount of depression a child felt. Bournemouth University in

An Essay About The World Of The Black, White, And Die Out...
So many tribes. So many factions. Straight, queer. Black, white. Male, Female. Tall, short. Fat, thin.
Happy, unhappy. Trapped, free. Oppressed, Liberated. Doubting, self assured. Old, young. Birthing,
dying. Wasted, realised. So many lives, so many stories. Some reach fruition, while others are stifled
never fulfilling their fullest potentials. Some of us are born into privilege and yet others live and and
die out on the street. For the vast majority of us however, we are born, we live what is termed an
average life and we die. We become markers in a field someplace. There s not a single one of us
however who shouldn t be here. We each have our own reason for being. We are each a part of life and
shouldn t ever feel apart from it. We are needed. Why then is there so much struggle? So much
competition. Such a great need for supremacy and righteousness. Many of us squander what we have
here hoping for something better around the corner or perhaps in the next life. Paradise is here, all
around us all of the time, well it is in theory at least. I m fortunate to live in a part of the world which
allows me freedoms. The freedom to live as I choose. The freedom to write posts without having to
worry about people turning up, taking away my basic rights to express myself and hauling me off to
some murky prison cell to languish and perhaps make me doubt my very existence. Even if that were
the case, someone somewhere would be caring enough to appeal for my conviction to be

Developing Countries
Many people confuse the term of developing nation and third world country. Some countries have a
more developed economic system, but that does not mean it is a third world country. Other people try
to use these terms as a ranking scheme for the states of developing countries according to the One
World Nations page. The web page dictionary.com describes a third world country as country is a
country in which the predominant culture and society is made up of mostly minority groups and where
poverty is abundant . The only difference between a developing country and a third world country is
the ability or the chance the country has to come up from the economic instability they are in. An

With the unemployment rate that high, it is almost going to be impossible to live in Mexico if the
population keeps increasing. The last characteristic that makes Mexico a developing country is the
dependence and vulnerability in internal relations. The increasing problem of the Mexican drug cartels
has made Mexico even worse of a place to live. Many innocent people die each year because of the
violence that the rival cartels generate. Many young kids are starting to join these cartels because there
are no jobs in Mexico and the only way of getting money is through joining these cartels. Mexico is
now depending, in some way, on the U.S to help them with the illegal sales of fire arms and explosive
to the drug cartels in Mexico. The U.S came up with a plan called Operation Fast and Furious which
would track down the buyers and eventually lead to the leaders of the cartels. This operation ended in
January 2011 with the 34 drug cartel suspects.
Although Mexico has all of these factors against them in order for develop to occur, they do have the
ability to grow. The only change they need to do is change the whole government, which is the hardest
obstacle to overcome. The Mexican government is one of the most corrupt governments in the world
and I say this because I have experienced it myself. All of the people that are in power today are there

Semiquinone Radicals
Reduction of an electron from ring C in ANT causes to formation of free radical semiquinone. This
radical is partly stable in anoxic environment but under normoxic condition, its unpaired electron is
given to oxygen and superoxide radicals are formed. Appropriate flavoproteins such as complex I
catalyses reduced semiquinone radicals by accepting electrons from NADH or NADPH and delivering
them to ANT. This sequence of reactions are known as redox cycling that can be very deterious
(dangerous) because low amount of ANT is adequate for formation of many superoxide radicals (67).
This radical damage triggers production of highly toxic aldehydes such as malondialdehyde (MAD).
These aldehydes can diffuse easily in the cell and even from cell membrane

Challenges Of The Transcontinental Railroad
The Transcontinental Railroad was a great engineering achievement that brought a more efficient
means of transportation from the Eastern United States to the Western United States. There were many
challenges for the development of a project that everyone agreed was necessary for the development
of the country. These challenges included a nation that was divided by the Civil War, as well as how
such a project could be financed and planned for. The completion of the Transcontinental Railroad
rapidly increased America s population in the West, and gave the Country the ability to protect itself
on boast the East and West Coasts. The expansion in the West included taking over lands from the
Native Americans who lived on the land. This was the downside associated with the Transcontinental
Railroad. The completion of the railroad brought about a great appreciation for the contributions of the
Chinese immigrants and allowed many to improve their lives. The completion of the Transcontinental
Railroad was a great accomplishment that helped the United States develop as a nation. The
Transcontinental Railroad could not have been achieved without the invention of the locomotive. The
idea of the locomotive was first thought of by James Watt in 1769. Watt had a patent on the design of
the locomotive engine but never really developed the idea. The benefits of the locomotive did not
become a reality until an Englishman named Charles Stephenson developed the first

A Sociological Look at JAWS The movie I choose to review was Jaws, which is one of my favorites
and a timeless classic. A traditional story about man against beast takes place on an island that

The three main (human) characters are Brody (Roy Scheider), the police chief, who came to the island

Being an outsider no one is inclined to listen to Hooper. To proven his point Hooper and Brody sneak
down to the docks to cut open the shark. Among many strange findings none are human remains. This
piques Hooper s curiosity and he drags Brody (who is afraid of boats and water) out on his boat to see
what they can find in the waters surrounding the island. They come across a boat wreck and upon
closer inspection they discover that the wreck is the work of the sought after shark.
With the evidence they ve uncovered Hooper and Brody go to the Mayor and demand he shut down

Introduction (150 words)
Though emotional labour is a rather modern phenomenon it still occurs in the profession of nursing
which has been around for centuries. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate how nurses are obligated
to perform emotional labour and the impacts involved. This paper focuses on the different methods of
emotional labour, including surface acting and deep acting, amongst the effects and outcomes that
occur consequently. It will first analyze and explain Arlie Hochschild s theory of emotional labour.
Next it will demonstrate that nurses are constantly performing emotional labour throughout their job,
whether through surface acting or deep acting and methods involved. Then, it will demonstrate the
effects of nurses performing emotional labour and the outcomes emotional labour produces.
Emotional labour amongst its methods are heavily evident in the nursing profession and the
performance of such results in various negative consequences. This is due to the difficulties involved
in the behaviors of managing emotions in a specific manner.

The Marvelous Sauce
The Marvelous Sauce painted by Jehan Vibert in 1890 is a part of the Albright Knox Art Gallery s
permanent collection. Located in Buffalo, New York, the Albright Knox Art Gallery is best known for
its collection of modern art rather than its number of older masterpieces. Therefore this late Nineteenth
century painting kept hung on the gallery s wall is worth taking a closer look at. It is a delightful work
of art to admire, but also holds a deeper meaning. What first catches the viewer s eyes are the vivid
colors used in the painting. Ultimately what jumps out the most is the man on the right s red robe. The
artist intended this for a reason, discussed later. The room where the men are standing is front lit. Also

Post impressionists disliked the unfinished quality of Impressionist paintings. They believed in the
deliberate arrangement of subjects in the composition, and that this composition was more important
than the effects of light. However, Vibert s painting is also not entirely post impressionist in nature,
but influenced by post impressionistic ideas. Made in the late nineteenth century, it exists as a lead off
into the twentieth century styles of art. At this time the camera was gaining popularity and
photography was used for portraiture and to capture important events. This kitchen scene could have
been created with use of a camera. But a camera captures a likeness, while an artist produces art.
According to Smith s write up on The Marvelous Sauce on the Albright Knox s web site this painting

in the picture is his chef. The largeness of the kitchen and the copious copper pots are meant to be a
testament of the cardinal s wealth. It is clearly the Cardinal himself who has prepared the sauce and in
the scene he has given it to the chef to taste. The Cardinal appears delighted at his creation while the

Outlining the Overall Structure Ofocial Care Sector Essay...
Part 1 P2 (500 words) Outlining the overall structure of the social care sector. Social Care services
sector s role is to deliver social care systems which offer care equality for all individuals, while
allowing people to retain their independence, dignity and control. During the past 20 years the need
for social care services in the UK slightly increased. This is mainly due to demographic factors such as
an increasing aging population. Therefore this means that more care and residential care homes are
needed. Also, a number of women with small children, who decided to come back to work, is
growing. This means that there is a need for new nursery and pre schools, which would look after the
children. Britain has a mixed economy of care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are often those who fill the gap which was left by other sectors. They usually concentrate more
on social care rather than on health sector e.g. their role is to help poor people in need. Examples of
them are: Red Cross, Oxfam, and British Heart Foundation. Social Care services can be accessed by
using referrals. There are 3 different types of referrals: self referral, professional referral and third
party referral, each of them involves different process. Self referral is when individuals suspects by
themselves that they have some problems with their social issues. Therefore, they self refer to a social
care specialist in order to receive the help and support that they need. Professional referral is when a
service user already contacted or used the service; however if the professional suspects any kind of
underlying health problem, the patient will be referred directly to another professional. For example if
the social worker suspects a child abuse in the family, he/she may refer the child to a counsellor or
psychologist to sort out the problem. Third party referral, is when a non professional person such as
relative, friend or neighbour contacts with the services in order to help the individual they know about.
For example the resident of the residential care home may be referred by the home manager to see a
social worker. When an individual is trying to access a social care services she/he may face some

Analysis Of Francois Truffaut s The 400 Blows ( 1959 )...
The French New Wave, or Nouvelle Vague, is among the most revolutionary film eras in the history of
cinema. Spurred as a result of major shifts in economic, social and technological norms within post
WW11 France, the New Wave conceived a renewed mode of expression across various creative
industries. Francois Truffaut s The 400 Blows (1959) and Jean Luc Godard s Breathless (1960) are
two films, which despite major disparities, would go on to exemplify integral characteristics of the
movement in the following years. Perhaps, the best way to truly appreciate the fervor of New Wave
cinema is to examine the context of its inception. Both the stylistic and thematic qualities of French
New Wave works directly reflect the implicit values, virtues and vices possessed by the emerging
youth culture of the late 1950s, which consequently posed a fundamental challenge to the institutions,
ideas and attitudes of the past.
To fully comprehend why and how this cinematic motion took place, it is valuable here to establish
the wider social climate of France at the time, and the active forces which heavily shaped New Wave
cinema. Between the years of 1945 and 1975, France would undergo thirty glorious years of economic
growth, urbanization, and a considerable baby boom, all of which came to expand and radically alter
the parameters of French culture (Haine 33). Beneath the surface affluence however, France was in a
state of deep self evaluation and consciousness. Following WW11, the

Stephanie is very curious and brave middle school student that is 12 years old. She has light blonde

and weak little middle school student that is also 12 years old and is in the same grade as Stephanie.
He has deep red hair, big brown eyes and only 4 7. No Step! George cried. They say that as soon as

Medifast Program Analysis
The Medifast program is a scientifically backed weight loss program. This program consists of
nutrient dense meals and vitamins (Medifast Inc., 2016). Medifast s most popular meal plan is five
Medifast meals and one lean and green meal. Each Medifast meal has the same amount of calories and
nutrients, meals are 100 calories each, the lean and green meal consists of 7oz of lean protein and
endless amount of greens in the form of veggies or salad. The reason why this plan works is
individuals are only consuming less than 1000 calories a day. This helps individuals with portion
control and gives them the daily requirements of vitamins and minerals. The basic nature of the
Medifast diet it to restrict the caloric intake of obese individuals and supplement with Medifast
prepared meals, this ensures optimal weight loss, medical monitoring comes along with this diet,
individuals will need to get blood work and routine physician visits, this ensures that individuals are

Children Are Becoming Extremely Spoiled
Children are being babied way too much. Children are becoming extremely spoiled; to the point of no
return. An end needs to be put to this before an inevitable catastrophe occurs! If ever given the chance,
it is quite frightening to think about where this generations kids will stand a few years from now, is it
not? Something needs to be done.
Our world cannot afford more spoiled children. A spoiled child is undisciplined, manipulative, and
unpleasant to be with much of the time (Schmitt). With the way our society is now, kids are becoming
very spoiled which is forming them to be narcissistic children. Do we really want more people like
Donald Trump? For goodness sake, the man believes a loan of one million dollars to be small! Is that
what we want? Well if parenting continues the way it is, that s what society will get. Spoiling will
form youngsters into becoming selfish little pampered brats, and pampered children are problematic
for parents; as well as for future children, adults, or others they will encounter along the path of their
everyday lives in the future. Spoiled children run into trouble by the time they reach school age. Other
children do not like them because they are too bossy and selfish. Adults do not like them because they
are rude and make excessive demands. Eventually spoiled children become hard for even parents to
love because of their behavior (Schmitt). This is why it is crucial for our society to make future
parents aware of the need of parenting

Factors That Affect The Value Of An Economy
There are numerous variables or characteristics employed to estimate the health or strength of an
economy, known as macroeconomic variables. This can include the following:
The Inflation Rate
It is referred to as the constant rate of change in the price level in the economy. Many economies
encounter positive rates of inflation yearly (Sommers, 2005). Mostly, the price level is usually
measured by a price index, which evaluates the price level of goods and services at a particular point
in time. Again, the number of items contained within in a price index differs depending on the main
objective of the index. Mostly, government agencies occasionally present three types of price indexes;
each index has a definite uses and benefits. They include the consumer price index, producer price
index and implicit GDP price deflector (Ball, 2012).
Zero percent inflation may happen to be ideal, but it is neither realistic nor desirable. A fair rate of
inflation of between 1 2 percent is thought to be desirable by immense number of economists. The
inflation rate of up to 5 percent is acceptable (Sommers, 2005). However, double digit inflation rates
are absolutely considered detrimental by most economists.
Unemployment Rate
The employment level is regularly quoted in relations to the unemployment rate; usually it is defined
as the fraction of labor force presently not working (but aggressively seeking employment). Whether
or not an economy is performing well in relation to the unemployment

Advantages and Disadvantages of Stocks and Bonds
Introduction
Stocks and bonds qualify as the two major classes of assets that are used by investors in planning their
portfolios for investment. Stocks offer the investors an opportunity to have a stake in the company,
whereas the bonds are affiliated to the loans that are made to a company. Generally stocks are
considered to be very volatile and much risky to invest in as compared to the investment in bond
(Alexieff, 2014). However there exist different stock and bond types that have with them varying
volatility levels and the risks also vary.

A stock holder has the right vested upon him to sell the stocks at a much higher price as compared to
what he paid for, whenever he or she deems it necessary.
A stock holder has a voice in the company as they are in a position to contest for the post of being the
directors in the organization, depending on the share capital that has been invested by a shareholder in
the company.
A shareholder in a company has the right to get involved in the bonus shares that have been declared
by the company. Bonus stocks are the additional stocks that are assigned to the stock holders apart
from the dividends (Alexieff, 2014).
Investing in stocks enables one to increase the chances of obtaining credit facilities from financial
institutions like banks and the macro financing institutions. The share certificate is used as collateral
for the loans.
Stocks are inheritable, this means that one can assign the shares to the next of kin who is entitled to
the stake in the company once the shareholder deems necessary to exit the company.
Stocks are also advantageous as the holders are only subjected to the limited liability in cases of a loss
(Mobius, 2012). Therefore, in the event of liquidating the company, the shareholder is only liable up to
the capital limits invested in the company.
Stocks can again be used as leverage for investment.
Disadvantages of Stocks
The following are some of the negative implications of stock: Getting the Last Payment

Benjamin Franklin was a very important person in our history. He was a man of many great ideas. Not

two of his many talents. He was also a strongly religious man. He was very influential to people back
then and he still is today.Today, there are still many people that live to be like him because he left such
an impact on modern day societies.
Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1706. He was one out of 17
children. His father, Josiah Franklin, was a soap maker, and his mother, Abiah Folger was Josiah s
second wife. Franklin s father proposed that his son would undergo the job of being a clergyman, but

writing sixteen of these letters, Franklin confessed that he was the mysterious one and only Dogood.
After that, James brother was thrown into jail for making fun of a clergy and Ben was left with the

the fact of Ben taking over the store and would beat him from time to time. Ben got tired of it and ran

Akhenaten Influence On Ancient Egyptian Society
In the heart of Egypt along the east bank of the Nile River lies the archaeological site of Amarna, this
semicircle of barren land bound by colossal limestone cliffs was home to an entire nation of ancient
Egyptian brought there by the will of an insurgent man: the pharaoh Akhenaten. Tyrant and arguably
history s first individual not only eradicated the most traditional and vital aspect of Egyptian life but
wreak havoc by reforming all traditional Religious , Political. Social and Economic elements of the
Egyptian empire. The harbinger of anarchy no doubt revolutionised countless aspects of Egyptian life

Akhenaten s revolution saw the abandonment of Egypt s traditional polytheistic society to a
monotheistic society against the will of a whole nation. Not only was this expressed through the
grotesque style of art employed during the Amarna period but also through poems and wall reliefs
found. For many years Egyptians worshipped a plethora of gods which encompassed vast aspects of
everyday life from the Nile valley to rising and setting of the sun, religion aided in explaining the
world around them. That was until Akhenaten The Heretic King extinguished the existence of all even
the principal god Amun Re but one egyptian god, the Aten eliminating all the gods and goddess that
the people had relied on for generations. The Great Hymn to the Amun Which Akhenaten later alters
in worship of the Aten highlights that it is only through reverence to these gods especially Amun re
could ancient Egyptians merit their provision and therefore be granted access to the elysian fields

An Experiential Approach For Organization Development
As I reflected on the course studies and what I have learned in taking this course. I came to a
conclusion that a lot of the information from the chapters will come very useful to my personal and
professional life. I decided to summarize on some of the concepts that I learned in the chapters in the
book An experiential approach to organization development . The concepts or theories that caught my
attention that I felt that I can relate to are the model of organizational development, changing the
culture, overcoming the resistance to change, goal setting theory and employee empowerment. All of
the chapters in the book can be incorporated into my professional life, and I feel that any organization
will benefit from reading this book. Model for organizational development is a continuing process of
long term organizational improvement that consists of several stages this model emphasizes on a
combination of individual, team and organizational relationships. The first phase is anticipated need
for change which states that before a change can be done there has to be a need. The manager of the
organization must feel that there is a need to change and he must adopt new ways for a change to be
productive. The second stage is developing the practitioner client relationship which means that after
the group has identified a need for change the organizational development practitioner enters the
system and a relationship begins to grow between the practitioner and the client system.

How To Describe A Day On A Rainy Day Essay
One cold wet afternoon in early November, the fog was so thick I felt a though I could reach out and
grab it. It had been bright sunshine when we walked into that forest. Or should I say when we were
chased into it. Earlier that morning it felt as though it would be just another ordinary Saturday. The
birds were singing, the tractors were ploughing, but little did I know that at that point, this was no
regular day for what was to come on the sunny day was very irregular indeed. Later on I decided to
ring ben and see if he wanted to go on a walk together in the countryside. After about ten minutes we
set of together through the fields and down the country lanes. All of a sudden ben stopped in the
middle of the road and asked me if I had seen the forest ahead of us before. Confused I said no and we
started up again and carried on with our walk. Out of nowhere a bull jumped out the hedgerow a
chased ben and I towards the forest walls. We ran in and hid behind some trees close so to the edge.
The bull seemed to know that we were there but didn t seem to want to go into the forest. Ben moved
his head signalling that we should find a way out of the forest I nodded and came out of where I was
hiding I turned and saw the bull staring at me but he didn t move I suddenly noticed that the fog
around us was growing thicker and I could no longer see ben in front of me. I shouted for him but no
reply. Suddenly I fell and heard a cry of which I thought sounded like ben I turned and

Theme For English B Analysis
In Langston Hughes poem Theme for English B, he presents how unobtainable the American Dream is
for a twenty two year old African American male. Hughes illuminates upon the hardship an oppressed
African American male faces daily. The American Dream is a traditional principle where freedom
includes the opportunity for prosperity and success. The speaker presents his truth and the struggles he
encounters.
In the first two stanzas an instructor tells the speaker and his classmates to go home and write a page
tonight; this page should come from himself and be true. The speaker wonders if it is that
straightforward. He questions if will be so effortless to have the words flow out of oneself and if it
will be an adequate representation of one s truth. He begins by writing that he is colored and born in
Winston Salem, Durham, and currently in college in Harlem. He writes that he is the only colored
student in his class and lives alone at the YMCA. The speaker gives his life history and indirectly
gives ...past racial oppression... (Cone). This stanza is more introductory and gives the readers
information on who the speaker is. The speaker presents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The significance of the one line ending is to remind the reader, the speaker is a person, a human, and
an American. The simple ending statement contains irony that something as magnificent as this poem
and the truth, itself, can come from a simple page of writing, from the heart. Ending the entire poem in
this irony magnifies the importance of an African American male s struggles. The truth is that white
and black people, and perhaps all people, play a big role in forming each other s identity. The truth,
also, is that everyone is an American and deserves to be treated as one. As the speaker is trying to
examine himself through this assignment, he also examines his instructor, classmates, and society as a

Hotel On The Corner Of Bitter And Sweet Summary
The novel Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, is a unique story. In the story, we learn about
Henry on two fronts of his life, the younger, twelve year old Henry during 1942, as well as forty year
old Henry in 1986. The story is about a love that surpasses time and distance. We follow Henry and
his life as young Chinese American boy attending a mainly white school on a scholarship. As a young
boy, Henry feels out of place since he barely speaks with his own parents, due to the fact that his
father wants him to speak his American, and also because he does not have many friends except for
Sheldon, a street player. As as older man, Henry also has a hard time communicating with his own
son, Marty, even more after the death of his wife, Ethel. Then Henry sees the Panama Hotel that had
been once boarded up decades ago during WWII. During his scholarship at Rainier Elementary in
1942, a Japanese girl named Keiko joins him in his class. Together, the two of them form a bond on
the fact that they are outcasts in their school for being different. Though, Henry s father looks down on
his friendship with Keiko since he views Japanese people as the enemy, and so he disowns Henry for
his relationship with a Japanese girl. This of course causes the canyon between Henry and his father to
widen. Even as the U.S. executes order 9066, sending all Japanese Americans in the West coast to
concentration camps, Henry and Keiko still manage to keep their relationship. But as their letters

Persuasive Speech For Deaf Children
My second claim is that the hearing family or or hard of hearing have to make sure that their deaf
child who is between 3 to five years should know minimum the basics of the sign language before
doing the cochlear implants surgery. A first reason why it is important that the family should to do the
cochlear implants to their deaf child after he/she learns to use the sign language is that sign language
will give the family a chance to understand and accept the Deaf community. According to the
American Speech Language Hearing Association(ASHA), a national professional, international
scientific, and credentialing association, states that since one of the most important methods after the
cochlear implant surgery is to follow it up with numbers of rehabilitation services and pronunciation
practicing, the child at this point should know the foundation of the sign language (ASHA). Knowing
some of the sign languages will allow the deaf child and the pronunciation coach to communicate
easily. The deaf children who have difficulties in understanding speech, but using sign language
before planting, it can significantly improve their communication skills. Teaching the deaf child the
sign language before the surgery can help him/her to use it as another communication method that
supports the spoken language as well, hence, they will be understood much easier.
A second reason why knowing the sign language before doing the cochlear implants is important is
that it prevents the deaf child

  • 2. Richard Wagner s Work As A Conductor Richard Wagner Biography Richard Wagner was born May 22, 1813 in Leipzig, Germany. Richard Wagner was many things, including a composer, theatre director, polemicist, and a conductor. Wagner was born as one of nine children of his father Carl Friedrich Wagner. Carl was a clerk in the police service and died 6 months after Wagner was born. His step father was an actor and a playwright who had a big influence on Wagner and his style of music. After his step father died, he was sent to boarding school where he spent some time as a playwright who was influenced by Shakespeare and Goethe. Later Wagner enrolled in Leipzig University. Wagner moved to Magdeburg where he worked as a musical director in an opera house. Following this he moved to Riga and fled debts he owed. After bouncing around he finally moved to Paris in 1839. Then moving back to Germany in 1942 where he wrote new operas and worked as a conductor, but also did work as a revolutionary which was the reason for him having to leave Germany. Wagner settled in Zurich, Switzerland. For the first five years of his stay in Switzerland he focused on writing essays, after that he focused on writing new pieces of art that he called dramas. Wagner then moved to Venice continuing his trend of moving around. Wagner later moved back to Paris in 1859 to watch over a revision of the opera Tannhauser. With his exile being lifted in 1862, Wagner moved to Biebrich, Germany. Up until that point in 1862 Wagner had many financial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Theme Of Mise En Scene In The Godfather The American films The Godfather I and II directed by Francis Ford Coppola, included mise en scene to emphasize certain characteristics and themes during both films. In this essay I will discuss how mise en scene was used to portray the lives of the Mafia families in the 1940s and 50s. The mise en scene in The Godfather I, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, plays a huge role in how the film is perceived by viewers. Mise En Scene is characterized as, The arrangement of everything that appears in the framing actors, lighting, décor, props, and costume (elementsofcinema.com). The Godfather utilizes mise en scene perfectly. Coppola combined all the right components of a typical mafia film and made something extraordinary. From the clothing, to the homes, to the cars, and lighting; The Godfather was executed wonderfully. Lighting plays a huge part in The Godfather. The first scene opens with only one man talking, in low light. The relaxed lighting makes the scene intense and leaving the audience with a sense of fear. With the light just appearing on the man s face, the foundation is totally dark, highlighting the threatening tone of the scene. This scene uses the same lighting elements as chiaroscuro paintings would have. If you were to pause the scene at certain points you would be able to see the rembrandt light and the strong tonal contrasts between light and dark. Different props are also used throughout the film. When you think about the Mafia, you think Italian men ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Value Summer Reading The value of Summer Reading: Once upon a time, when there was no internet, smartphones or any wireless devices we had books. My library card is still one of my fondest childhood summertime memories. I was so lucky to have a librarian aunt who literally fostered the love of reading not just in me but in all my cousins. I d go to her library all summer long to get books, any type and any genre of books. Summer was the only time that I was allowed to stay up late most of the nights to devour my books. However, children today would rather to play computer games, watch TV or spend their time online. But how can we make sure kids choose a book over a screen when they re looking for fun? The key word is choice. According to a new research by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Homelessness Is A Serious Social Problem Homelessness in America has been a considered a serious social problem for at least thirty to forty years, affecting thousands upon thousands of people in all regions of the country. The individuals and families that make up the homeless population face struggles every day that many of us may never even experience in our entire lives. There are many factors that either contribute to or directly cause homelessness. Unfortunately, many people in our society believe that homelessness is a personal problem and should be up to the individual to fix. However, homelessness is actually a very serious social problem that we all need to be concerned about and work together to bring it to an end. The American society is so accustomed to labeling each other just by looks, clothing, and other material goods. Power, wealth, and prestige seem to be the only things that many people want to live for, and those people do not attempt to put themselves in other peoples shoes, especially not the shoes of a homeless person. This is a terrible habit that has been such a huge part of our society for so long that a lot of people do not even see the problem with it. They may not even realize how wrong and terrible it is to label someone just by their looks or their life situation. But since we have done it for hundreds of years, we all continue to do it and see no problem with it. Many people in our society label homeless people as lazy, unmotivated, and even less intelligent than themselves just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Jerry Lewis Analysis Citric of the critic a critical thought. In both of the articles referring to Lewis neither make very good arguments in my opinion, which is the point/goal of many critics: to gain (or at least appeal to) an audience that has their point of views and to establish a reputation as a writer and a critic which develops a following and somehow makes them qualified to tell their readers what is good and/or bad. Both articles take the stance of stereotyping cultures and what they think when it comes to Jerry Lewis. Stereotyping is a problem in the world, something which I feel is the point of many critics but does not sit well with me. They take the time to watch a movie and offer their view point on the film, dissecting and diagnosing the film in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a critic and writer the author loses his reader in the first paragraph making it difficult to want to continue reading, American Fascination with the French critical application of Lewis. (Selig 42) Who cares what other countries critics view films produced in other countries? If the French like Lewis let them like Lewis, it s their choice and opinion. American critics were worried about how the French perceived and stereotyped American s, undermine the presentation of a unified male subject and thus the conventional Hollywood representation of Masculinity. (Selig 46) How the French view American males during the time is not the fault of Lewis. His work was appealing to the French (and many American movie goers) because he was making comedies to lighten the mood of the times. From the information in both articles an argument for or against Lewis got lost and became more about how American critics perceived the French interpretation of Lewis as an auteur. That is the French were more impressed with Lewis because of his style in presenting the topics within his films. American critics seemed to be appalled that Lewis was the French s perception of what American male life was like. However, Is it ok that Americans think of the French as all having berets, wearing black and white striped shirts, riding bikes with baguettes in their basket? This is an American stereotype vs the French who may think all American males are funny and stupid acting and will do anything for love and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. New York University Trademark Case Study Establishing a strong brand is critical to business success. Protecting a brand is equally as important. According to Law for Recreation Sport Managers, they discuss on what exactly is a trademark and is recognized as any word, name, symbol, or device, or any combination thereof, adopted or used by some entity to identify their goods and distinguish them from those manufactured or sold by others (Cotten Wolohan, 2017). The purpose of a trademark is to protect the owner and to prevent others from using the mark in a way that will cause confusion. In this case, The University of New York (UNY) has filed for federal trademark registration their name and logo, however, the New York Yankees and New York University (NYU) filed an objection on their own expressing that UNY infringed on the Yankees logo and also infringed on the name of New York University as well. ... • 8. The Importance Of Music Therapy A bullet to the left of the brain almost caused Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, a permanent speech imparity. Gabrielle experienced aphasia (a language disorder that stops communication), but she participated in music therapy for healing. She learned how to think straightforwardly by matching the lyrics of the song to the rhythm and the melody. In the right side of the brain, singing abilities occur, but on the left side people can work around the injury by dropping the melody after they sing their thoughts (Harvard). Eventually, due to this music therapy process, Gabrielle recovered and got her speech ability back. Even though music is used everyday as entertainment, it can also be used as a treatment option to help people. Music therapy has been able to help people communicate and it has recovered speech and hearing imparities. Music therapy is the use of music elements by music therapist to help restore and maintain physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. Music therapy opens a path of communication for people who have trouble communicating through words. Doctors should use music therapy more as a treatment in hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers. Participating in music therapy was found to help people who experience self esteem issues and depression. A scientific study was performed by a group of scientist in Poole, England to prove whether or not music lessened the amount of depression a child felt. Bournemouth University in England and ... • 9. An Essay About The World Of The Black, White, And Die Out... So many tribes. So many factions. Straight, queer. Black, white. Male, Female. Tall, short. Fat, thin. Happy, unhappy. Trapped, free. Oppressed, Liberated. Doubting, self assured. Old, young. Birthing, dying. Wasted, realised. So many lives, so many stories. Some reach fruition, while others are stifled never fulfilling their fullest potentials. Some of us are born into privilege and yet others live and and die out on the street. For the vast majority of us however, we are born, we live what is termed an average life and we die. We become markers in a field someplace. There s not a single one of us however who shouldn t be here. We each have our own reason for being. We are each a part of life and shouldn t ever feel apart from it. We are needed. Why then is there so much struggle? So much competition. Such a great need for supremacy and righteousness. Many of us squander what we have here hoping for something better around the corner or perhaps in the next life. Paradise is here, all around us all of the time, well it is in theory at least. I m fortunate to live in a part of the world which allows me freedoms. The freedom to live as I choose. The freedom to write posts without having to worry about people turning up, taking away my basic rights to express myself and hauling me off to some murky prison cell to languish and perhaps make me doubt my very existence. Some countries have a more developed economic system, but that does not mean it is a third world country. Other people try to use these terms as a ranking scheme for the states of developing countries according to the One World Nations page. The web page dictionary.com describes a third world country as country is a country in which the predominant culture and society is made up of mostly minority groups and where poverty is abundant . The only difference between a developing country and a third world country is the ability or the chance the country has to come up from the economic instability they are in. With the unemployment rate that high, it is almost going to be impossible to live in Mexico if the population keeps increasing. The last characteristic that makes Mexico a developing country is the dependence and vulnerability in internal relations. The increasing problem of the Mexican drug cartels has made Mexico even worse of a place to live. Many innocent people die each year because of the violence that the rival cartels generate. Many young kids are starting to join these cartels because there are no jobs in Mexico and the only way of getting money is through joining these cartels. Mexico is now depending, in some way, on the U.S to help them with the illegal sales of fire arms and explosive to the drug cartels in Mexico. The U.S came up with a plan called Operation Fast and Furious which would track down the buyers and eventually lead to the leaders of the cartels. This operation ended in January 2011 with the 34 drug cartel suspects. Although Mexico has all of these factors against them in order for develop to occur, they do have the ability to grow. The only change they need to do is change the whole government, which is the hardest obstacle to overcome. The Mexican government is one of the most corrupt governments in the world and I say this because I have experienced it myself. All of the people that are in power today are there because of the ... This radical is partly stable in anoxic environment but under normoxic condition, its unpaired electron is given to oxygen and superoxide radicals are formed. Appropriate flavoproteins such as complex I catalyses reduced semiquinone radicals by accepting electrons from NADH or NADPH and delivering them to ANT. This sequence of reactions are known as redox cycling that can be very deterious (dangerous) because low amount of ANT is adequate for formation of many superoxide radicals (67). This radical damage triggers production of highly toxic aldehydes such as malondialdehyde (MAD). These aldehydes can diffuse easily in the cell and even from cell membrane ... These challenges included a nation that was divided by the Civil War, as well as how such a project could be financed and planned for. The completion of the Transcontinental Railroad rapidly increased America s population in the West, and gave the Country the ability to protect itself on boast the East and West Coasts. The expansion in the West included taking over lands from the Native Americans who lived on the land. This was the downside associated with the Transcontinental Railroad. The completion of the railroad brought about a great appreciation for the contributions of the Chinese immigrants and allowed many to improve their lives. The completion of the Transcontinental Railroad was a great accomplishment that helped the United States develop as a nation. The Transcontinental Railroad could not have been achieved without the invention of the locomotive. The idea of the locomotive was first thought of by James Watt in 1769. Watt had a patent on the design of the locomotive engine but never really developed the idea. A traditional story about man against beast takes place on an island that depends on its summer tourist business. When the summer season in threatened by a series of shark attacks three men are sent out to track down a great white shark. The three main (human) characters are Brody (Roy Scheider), the police chief, who came to the island from New York looking, so he thought, for a change from the fears of the city. There s Quint (Robert Shaw), a caricature of the crusty old seafaring salt, who has a very personal reason for hating sharks. And there s Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), the rich kid turned ... This piques Hooper s curiosity and he drags Brody (who is afraid of boats and water) out on his boat to see what they can find in the waters surrounding the island. They come across a boat wreck and upon closer inspection they discover that the wreck is the work of the sought after shark. With the evidence they ve uncovered Hooper and Brody go to the Mayor and demand he shut down the beaches. Therefore this late Nineteenth century painting kept hung on the gallery s wall is worth taking a closer look at. It is a delightful work of art to admire, but also holds a deeper meaning. Made in the late nineteenth century, it exists as a lead off into the twentieth century styles of art. At this time the camera was gaining popularity and photography was used for portraiture and to capture important events. This kitchen scene could have been created with use of a camera. Social Care services sector s role is to deliver social care systems which offer care equality for all individuals, while allowing people to retain their independence, dignity and control. During the past 20 years the need for social care services in the UK slightly increased. This is mainly due to demographic factors such as an increasing aging population. Self referral is when individuals suspects by themselves that they have some problems with their social issues. Therefore, they self refer to a social care specialist in order to receive the help and support that they need. Spurred as a result of major shifts in economic, social and technological norms within post WW11 France, the New Wave conceived a renewed mode of expression across various creative industries. Francois Truffaut s The 400 Blows (1959) and Jean Luc Godard s Breathless (1960) are two films, which despite major disparities, would go on to exemplify integral characteristics of the movement in the following years. Perhaps, the best way to truly appreciate the fervor of New Wave cinema is to examine the context of its inception. Both the stylistic and thematic qualities of French New Wave works directly reflect the implicit values, virtues and vices possessed by the emerging youth culture of the late 1950s, which consequently posed a fundamental challenge to the institutions, ideas and attitudes of the past. To fully comprehend why and how this cinematic motion took place, it is valuable here to establish the wider social climate of France at the time, and the active forces which heavily shaped New Wave cinema. Between the years of 1945 and 1975, France would undergo thirty glorious years of economic growth, urbanization, and a considerable baby boom, all of which came to expand and radically alter the parameters of French culture (Haine 33). If ever given the chance, it is quite frightening to think about where this generations kids will stand a few years from now, is it not? Something needs to be done. Our world cannot afford more spoiled children. A spoiled child is undisciplined, manipulative, and unpleasant to be with much of the time (Schmitt). With the way our society is now, kids are becoming very spoiled which is forming them to be narcissistic children. Do we really want more people like Donald Trump? For goodness sake, the man believes a loan of one million dollars to be small! Is that what we want? Well if parenting continues the way it is, that s what society will get. • 26. Factors That Affect The Value Of An Economy There are numerous variables or characteristics employed to estimate the health or strength of an economy, known as macroeconomic variables. This can include the following: The Inflation Rate It is referred to as the constant rate of change in the price level in the economy. Many economies encounter positive rates of inflation yearly (Sommers, 2005). Mostly, the price level is usually measured by a price index, which evaluates the price level of goods and services at a particular point in time. Again, the number of items contained within in a price index differs depending on the main objective of the index. Mostly, government agencies occasionally present three types of price indexes; each index has a definite uses and benefits. They include the consumer price index, producer price index and implicit GDP price deflector (Ball, 2012). Zero percent inflation may happen to be ideal, but it is neither realistic nor desirable. A fair rate of inflation of between 1 2 percent is thought to be desirable by immense number of economists. The inflation rate of up to 5 percent is acceptable (Sommers, 2005). However, double digit inflation rates are absolutely considered detrimental by most economists. A shareholder in a company has the right to get involved in the bonus shares that have been declared by the company. Bonus stocks are the additional stocks that are assigned to the stock holders apart from the dividends (Alexieff, 2014). Investing in stocks enables one to increase the chances of obtaining credit facilities from financial institutions like banks and the macro financing institutions. The share certificate is used as collateral for the loans. Stocks are inheritable, this means that one can assign the shares to the next of kin who is entitled to the stake in the company once the shareholder deems necessary to exit the company. Stocks are also advantageous as the holders are only subjected to the limited liability in cases of a loss (Mobius, 2012).
