Essay On Patch Antenna
2 2 Microstrip Patch Antenna Array Fed by Substrate Integrated Waveguide
for Radar Applications
Chandan Baranwal, ME, BIT Mesra
Abstract A 2 2 microstrip patch antenna array fed by a sub strate integrated waveguide (SIW)
feeding network for 24 GHz radar applications is suggested in this paper. The microstrip patches
are aperture coupled with the feeding network comprising of a perpendicular coax to SIW transition
and two Y junction power dividers. The antennadesign is performed in the ANSYS HFSS using
finite element method for EM solutions and the procured results have been verified by
measurement in Lab. At the frequency 24.4 GHz, the prototype has a gain of 9.28 dBi.
Index Terms Antenna array, microstrip patch, power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this paper, an AC MPA element fed by an SIW is used as a building block for the design of a
small antenna array. The proposed antenna combines the benefits of microstrip patch antennas with
the advantages of SIW technology. SIW is utilized in order to minimize transmission losses in the
feeding part. In addition, an SIW based feeding network does not radiate any spurious radiation that
could affect the radiation pattern of the antenna array. Therefore, any additional shielding of the
feeding part or the reflector is not required in comparison to the microstrip line feeding technique
for AC MPAs. The antenna array design is carried out for a 24 GHz radar system. The paper
presents the simulated and experimental results of the proposed antenna array.
II.ANTENNA ARRAY CONFIGURATION
The structure of the proposed antenna array is shown in Fig. 1. The antenna consists of 2 2
aperture coupled microstrip patch antennas fed by an SIW based feeding network. The in phase
uniform feeding for the array consists of three SIW based power dividers. The antenna array is fed
by a coaxial connector.
The configuration of a single AC MPA element used for the antenna array design is shown in Fig.

Psychoanalytic Theory Of Human Development
Psychoanalytic Theory
Psychoanalytic Theory is a theory of human development that holds that irrational, unconscious
drives and motives, often originating in childhood, underlie human behavior. It is thought to
influence every aspect of thinking and behavior, from the smallest details of life to the crucial
choices of a lifetime. Sigmund Freud is an Austrian physician who believed the stages of human
development were characterized by sexual pleasure centered on a particular part of the body.
Oral Stage (Birth to 1 year) In infancy, everything the child gets a hold of goes to their mouth.
The lips, tongue, and gums are the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. They love to
suck on their fingers or pacifier majority of the time, even in their sleep.
Anal Stage (1 3 years)
The anal is the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. During this time children are
beginning toilet training. They are now able to interpret when they need to use the restroom and
able to communicate to the parents when they need to go.
Phallic Stage (3 6 years)
During this stage, the penis is the most important body part, and pleasure is derived from genital
stimulation. This is the time when they begin to discover their genitals, girls may ask questions
while on the other hand, boys may feel a sense of pride.
Latency (6 11 years)
During this age of development sexual needs quieten down and children begin to focus on social
activities with friends.

Disadvantages Of Cost Reinbursement Contract
INTRODUCTION: In a cost reinbursement contract, the contractor was paid by the employer
limited to the source and a small amount in addition for the contractor to gain profit. Furthermore,
cost reimbursement contracts has massive divergent with a fixed price contract, that the contractor
get is paid with the discussed expenses. Moreover, there are several contract type that federal
agencies can choose. Firstly, is fixed price, secondly is time and materials, and lastly is cost
reimbursement. Each contract has its own specialty and risk to the employer. Different types of
contract can be used to surge the motivational level of the contractor and to surge the ultimate result
of the project that are in progress by the contractor. Besides, the contracts are suitable when
inconstancy about the contract production do not permit price to be estimated with enough
precision to use any type of fixed price contract.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
therefore, the administration conducts relatively massive supervision on this type of contract to
make sure that effective ways and efficient price management are used. There are two big reasons
for the disability to estimate the price precisely. Firstly, is the lack of understanding regarding the
contract demand. Then, is the not enough experience in work performing, such as the evolution of
an armor structure where production ability and detailing are sufficiently unstable to warrant
contracting on a fixed price basis. When these order occur, the use of a cost reimbursement
contract may be suitable. Conversely, when variability have been declined to a commandable
phase, a fixed price contract normally is used. Last but not least, there are three basic category of
cost reimbursement contracts. Firstly is the price addition fixed fee, price addition award fee, and

Research Methodology For A Researcher
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research methodology involves the design which a researcher
ought to use to study a topic of interest. It therefore involves the procedure by which researchers
undertake their work and the framework within which is conducted (Rajasekar et al., 2013;
Remenyi et al., 1998). Research Methodology aids research planning, if properly design it will
enable a researcher to arrive at results or findings and tools that can either be used to disprove or
approve such knowledge. (Nachamias et al., 1996; Saunders et al.,2003). This chapter outlines data
collection procedure as well as how data is analyse for this study. These involve choice of the
sampling frame, sampling techniques, how interviews were designed and conducted as well as
questionnaire administration, time horizon, transcription of interviews and analysis of responses,
ethical concerns and limitations of the methods. Qualitative Research Methods Qualitative research
method was chosen for this study. It involves an interpretative inquiry and a naturalistic approach
to an area of study (Denzin, Lincoln, 2005; Qazi, 2011). Researchers therefore make an
interpretation of what they observe, hear, and understand (Creswell 2003). Qualitative research
method was suitable and adopted to deal with the study objectives since the research was more
naturalistic, participant driven and comprehensive (Ciceu, 2015) as well as inquiring. Methods of

Analysis Of The Cat In The Hat
The Cat in the Hat is a picture book, written and illustrated by Theodor Geisel under the pen name
Doctor Seuss. The book was published in 1957 and follows the actions of an eccentric
anthropomorphic cat who wears a red and white striped hat, colloquially named The Cat in the Hat.
When the cat invades the house of two children, Sally and Conrad, while their mum is out, he is
extremely destructive and, much to the children s despair, everything spirals out of control. At their
mum s arrival in the driveway, the children eventually convince the cat to leave but are then left
with the mammoth task of cleaning the house. Everything seems lost until the cat returns to clean
the house after a dramatic change of heart. The struggle between order and chaos is the most
predominant theme in this text, presented through the cat s conflict with the children. Order and
chaos is also paramount in another picture book of similar style, written much later by Seuss in
1971, The Lorax. A similar conflict is presented between the protagonist and antagonist, the Lorax
and the Once ler. When the Once ler discovers a peculiar forest filled with wondrous Truffula
Trees, he begins to ravage the trees to produce sweater like objects called thneeds, much to the
dismay of the Lorax. The texts incorporate a range of techniques to present the struggle between the
voices of order and chaos, in the protagonist against the antagonist. Characterisation, setting,
narrative structure, stylistic devices and narrative voice are used by Doctor Seuss in similar and
contrasting ways to demonstrate the same theme of order and chaos in the books, and despite
having the same author, different contexts, based on the time period when the books were written,
introduce alternative perspectives.
Written with similar purpose and by the same author, both The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax have a
target audience of young children and employ relevant language and stylistic devices that allow the
key theme of order and chaos to be portrayed to the younger audience. The most significant
techniques used by Seuss in both The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax are rhythm and repetition,
which emphasise the characters emotions. Thus, the younger audience can more easily

The Effect Of Ph On Enzyme Activity Of Peroxidase
Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase
Thomas Stinde
March 15, 2016
Coconino Community College Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase
For us to understand what the effects pH have on enzyme activity of peroxidase, we must first
define what an enzyme is and what is done as well as a peroxidase. According to the Oxford
Dictionary of English, an enzyme is, a substance produced by a living organism which acts as a
catalyst to bring about a specific biochemical reaction (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Nearly all
enzymes are proteins which have large complex molecules whose actions depends on their
molecular shape. Some enzymes dictate reactions inside cells and some, such as enzymes which
deal with digestion, outside the cell (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). The factors which affect enzyme
activity are the environmental conditions. If these conditions are changed, then the enzyme reaction
rate is altered. In nature, organisms will make adjustments to their enzyme conditions to create an
optimal reaction rate, when needed, or the organisms will contain enzymes which are modified to
operate efficiently in extreme environments where they live. Peroxidase is, an enzyme that
catalyses the oxidation of a particular substrate by hydrogen peroxide (Oxford Dictionary, 2012).
Hydrogen peroxide is a byproduct of cellular respiration; therefore, the peroxidase is located in the
cytoplasm of the cell.
In our lab, we checked the reaction rate of peroxidase and tried to find the

The Poignant Prophet By Aldous Huxley
The Poignant Prophet One could say that Aldous Huxley was born into greatness, or one could
also say that his greatness was forged from his experiences. Neither would be wrong. Huxley
was a third son born in 1894, into a family that was distinguished on both sides. He was able to
attend paid public school and later attended Eton. Huxley suffered three great traumas that
affected his life deeply. The first would be the death of his beloved mother in 1908; he would
later express this experience in a near autobiographic novel Eyeless in Gaza in 1936. In a final
letter to her son written on her deathbed, she told him, Don t be too critical of people and love
much . Huxley later added in 1915, ... I have come to see more and more how wise that advice
was. It s her warning against a rather conceited and selfish fault of my own and it s a whole
philosophy of life (Garret). In 1911, Huxley contracted keratitis punctata, causing blindness for
nearly 18 months resulting in poor vision for the rest of his life. In that time he learned to read
braille and gave up his plan to become a doctor due to his poor vision and he instead planned to
become a writer. The third and final traumatic experience would be the suicide of his older brother
Trevenen who had comforted him during his temporary blindness. The factors that may have
attributed to the suicide may have been his failure to achieve honors at Oxford University and a
love affair with a woman of a differing social class. In

Ethics, Ethical, And Unethical Behavior
Trident University Kaipo Kim Module 1 Case Assignment Eth501 Professor: Gary Shelton, Ph.
D. 6 November 2016 Introduction Organizations that behave ethically are more apt to earn the
trust of their customers, employees, and stockholders. To become successful and hold a great
reputation within any company, one must know right from wrong, but more importantly make
those hard decisions to do what is right. Once a member within a corporation starts to cheat,
steal, and coerce the system, it becomes a domino effect that leaves devastating ramifications. We
will discuss issues like falsifying financial statements, improper use of company funds, ethical
behaviors and unethical behaviors. Fairness The first virtue that I choose to discuss within this
paper is the word fairness. Fair is defined as agreeing with what is thought to be right or
acceptable; treating people in a way that does not favor some over others; not too harsh or critical
(Merriam Webster Dictionary, n.d.). With this simple definition, Mattel founded Global
Manufacturing Principles (GMP), whose intent was to identify and fix issues within their
companies like wages an hours, child labor, forced labor, discrimination, freedom of association,
legal and ethical business practices, product safety and product quality, just to name a few ( XX).
Mattel set the standards of becoming a socially responsible corporation by putting into place GMP
that ensured their corporation not only made money, but also treated

After a year, the most famous Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice changed the whole concept of
vampires. Vampire Chronicles featured vampires who are romantic and are the opposite of how
they were first introduced (Laming, n.d.). In the year 2005, Stephenie Meyer published the
phenomenal Twilight, the first book to the epic series that gave birth to billions of vampire
addicted teens and tweens in the 21st century. It all started when Meyer dreamt of a scene in
2003 wherein a handsome young vampire was talking to an ordinary human girl. After having
this dream, she decided to make a story out of it. After many sleepless nights and countless
instances where she wanted to give up, she still continued on working. And all that work finally
paid off when that dream finally became Twilight. Twilight is about a story of two individuals
who fell in love with each other. The difference it makes from other love stories is that Twilight
is a love story between a human and a vampire, specifically Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Bella
Swan was just an ordinary girl, but to Edward Cullen, she was the most exquisite thing he has
ever seen in his 104 years of existence. He treated her better than how he treated anyone else,
even himself. He loved her like there is nothing else to love. He made her his reason for living. All
these were perfectly described in the book. As someone who was able to read about their love

A Research Study On Organizational Politics Essay
Introduction
Organizational Politics have been a long standing issue in organizational settings since corporate
businesses were established. Empirical data has only been available in the last twenty years, as
researchers considered it subjective in nature. Primary to understanding the need for such study is
realizing the adverse effects pointing to countless victims along with brutal violations of self
serving agendas. (Brian K. Miller, 2008)
Studies note that there are positive political tactics, such as persuasion, reference to super ordinate
goals, development of coalitions, and networking. (Brian K. Miller, 2008) Some may want to
believe that, however the unrecoverable loss associated with job satisfaction, organizational
reputation, and employee commitment when organizations allow unsanctioned business practices
into their culture is undeniable. The question seemingly never considered is; why would an
organization choose such a culture, how do leaders change it; and foremost, shouldn t leaders do so
with an interdisciplinary approach?
Empirical Studies There have thousands upon thousands of empirical studies performed at a
scholarly level over the course of two decades. Experienced researchers of multiple disciplines from
Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Sociology, and
Ethics have categorically focused their theories upon five of the most prevailing factors common to
overall job fulfillment; job satisfaction,

Unions And Collective Bargaining Rights
Union and collective bargaining rights are important for improvement as well as maintaining labor
conditions and employment relations and are most certainly essential in international labor. Unions
and collective bargaining rights are designed to promote and ensure our human rights are protected.
This certainly doesn t mean there aren t flaws in the system, however, the intention of unions and
collective bargaining is to safeguard workers, employers as well as the government to make it
harmonious.
Since the National Labor Relations Act was passed in 1935, unions have been in existence. The
main role is to safeguard workers rights, ensure safe work conditions and negotiate for the
employees through collective bargaining. Collective bargaining ... Show more content on

The two sides don t have to reach an agreement, but they always have to bargain in good faith.
Although, neither side is required to make a particular concession, a party that refuses to bend on
a single issue or to put any offer on the table might be acting in good faith. The National Labor
Relations Act forbids employers from interfering with, restraining, or coercing employees in the
exercise of rights relating to organizing, forming, joining or assisting a labor organization for
collective bargaining purposes, or from working together to improve terms and conditions of
employment, or refraining from any such activity. Similarly, labor organizations may not restrain or
coerce employees in the exercise of these rights. Primary examples of employer conduct that
violates the law are, but not limited to; threatening employees with loss of jobs or benefits if they
join or vote for a union or engage in protected concerted activity, threatening to close the plant if
employees select a union to represent them, questioning employees about their union sympathies or

The Conflict Between Christian Faith And Those Of Islamic...
As a global collective, the human past is purely one of conflict. Power struggles are widespread
and unique in context, but these struggles are not special in the presence or complexity of the self
versus other conflict within them. One of the strongest examples for this assertion is the First
Crusades. At face value, any observer can immediately take notice of the separation between those
of Christian faith and those of Islamic faith. If additional diligence in research is provided, any one
of these observers begins to find the endlessly deeper self versus other struggles present on both
sides, specifically amongst the Christian military. Numerous accounts from Christian actors serve to
support this argument; the recorded thoughts of both soldiers and intellectuals detail the surprising
amount of divisions between what should be the Christian united. The relationship between the self
and the other present in the mindset of the actors of the Crusades shows that a definite, dynamic,
yet necessary division between all groups of people exists, no matter the already established bonds
of any collective. One of the most complicated pieces to the self versus other puzzle is the dynamic
nature of its idealistic segregation. Each person involved with the First Crusadehad an undeniable
loyalty to God. In an effort seemingly meant to cultivate more glory, some saw it fitting to
sacrifice established intercommunity bonds for the sake of peer provided glory. The glory

Abolishment Of Slavery In The 1860 s
Slavery in America began during the early 17th century and followed with the abolitionist
movement in the late 1800 s. This movement created a continental divide between southern and
northern states. In the south, there are the Southern Democrats who supported the idea of slavery
and believed that the institution was necessary for the survival of the south. Southern Democrats
also argued that the North turned their back on the real America. While the northern states were
composed of Republicans, such as Abraham Lincoln, whose efforts to exterminate slavery
eventually caused the absorption of anti slavery Whigs and most of the Know Nothing party. In
the years that followed, slavery fueled the fire that started the Civil War. The vast majority of
southern states did not favor the abolishment of slavery in the 1850 s nor 1860 s. On the
contrary, the states divided themselves of the increasing problem of slave versus free territories.
The Compromise of 1820, also known as the Missouri Compromise, admitted Maine to the Union
as a free state in 1820 and Missouri as a slave state in 1821. In addition, the compromise prohibited

Tragic Heroes Are Shaped By Modern Society
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes What makes someone a hero? When hearing the word hero,
people always imagine different things. Some may think of a superhero such as Spiderman or
Batman or even Superman. While some people may imagine a stranger who showed bravery in a
time of need or someone who takes their time every day devoting themselves to helping others.
However, many people do not imagine the tragic heroes Macbeth and Hamlet. One might think that
Superman and Hamlet are opposites and share no characteristic. However, tragic heroes from the
Renaissance period and heroes from today s times are similar, no matter how society changes the
meaning of the word hero. According to Dictionary.com, the word hero is described as, a person
noted for courageous acts or nobility of character (Dictionary. com). A hero, in today s society, is
known as someone who is recognized for bravery and compassion. Heroic traits today are things
such as courage, responsibility, dedication, compassion, selflessness, and humility. Heroes are
usually looked up to for their actions and have overcome something difficult at some point in their
life. Heroes are selfless and caring, and time after time, put others before themselves. Heroes are

Should Chemo Be The Only Option?
Chemotherapy began in the 20th century. Chemotherapy is a drug treatment used to get rid of

the use of marijuana oil. There s some support showing they can reduce chemotherapy related pain

Gender Stereotypes In Children
At a very young age children are labeled on what it means to be a male and female based on their
gender. This labeling is taught, but also it is something we as humans pick up on. Most of the
time infants start to categorize gender by three months and are fully developed by one and half to
two years old, and labeling by eighteen to twenty months (Hunt, 2016). At about two to three years
old they start to develop the knowledge of roles of men and women hypothetically and start to
stereotype men and women (Hunt, 2016). With the influences such as kid s toys and TV shows it
further reinforces what women and men should do. They develop an ignorance towards gender, and

Also arguments over someone s drinking can cause family and relationship problems that may lead
to break up. To address this families may consider going to councilling to stop the alcohol abuse
and also work out any issues that have been the outcome of the constant alcohol abuse from a
family member.
Link between alcohol and poverty?
Apart from money spent on drinks, heavy drinkers may suffer other economic problems such as
lower wages (because of missed work and decreased efficiency on the job) and lost employment
opportunities, increased medical and legal expenses, and decreased eligibility for loans. To
address this issue the government should invest in centers to inform people of the horrible
outcomes of alcohol abuse and also help the people who have been affected to get back on their feet.
Alcohol abuse could be costing the UK up to ВЈ6 billion a year in NHS bills, premature death,
losses to business and drink related crimes and accidents, it was claimed today.
A study by the Royal College of Physicians said drink related health problems could account for up

But campaigners said that with the estimated ВЈ3 billion lost through absenteeism, unemployment,
premature deaths and alcohol related crimes and accidents the total cost of excessive drinking is

The Journey Is The Reward Essay
The Journey is the Reward
I have always wondered if there was a purpose to the universe, if therewas a plan, if there was an
organising factor, hopefully I played a role in it.
The journey of organising is the reward. Let s all rewind our past once in life and see what
initiative have we taken to organise an event or how have we helped in organising an event.
Some people might think it s just fun to organise an event because you get to bunk a lot of
classes, spend time with friends and at last put across a show where a hundreds of people would
watch. But has any one realised how much of effort, energy and time it requires to impress the
person sitting and watching it? Most of us don t because we find it as a place to have fun rather

Before any of this, planning is the first and the foremost thing that one should do for obtaining our
desired result. Where there is no planning there is no action and when there is no action there is no
result. Therefore, before starting an event there requires planning on various issues like budget,
inviting quests, how to honour them, what s the order of the event, issue of certificates and awards
and many more. When all these questions have an answer then we are sure to have a successful
event.
We human beings have been built up with high thinking ability and lots of emotions. Such
ability of thinking and emotions come out only by taking responsibility. Some take it as a learning
and never give up but some keep quiet and lose their voice in the group.Life is not easy but we
have to learn to make our self harder than life.It s all up to a person to take it in a positive aspect or
negative aspect and move forward. Now you all know what s right way of taking a criticism. Let s
all not forget criticism is the best way of learning and growing up in life and also be a successful

Ndani Research Paper
As part of Dance Houston 2013 , the Ndani was performed on April sixth of the year two
thousands and thirteen at the Wortham center. The dance executed by a group of eight young
dancers, among which Otis Berry, was choreographed by ShatГ© Edwards. Miss Edwards has
an engaged, skillful, and powerful style. Her background includes jazz, tap, stepping, modern
and more. She is a Houston, Texas native, who attended college in Atlanta, Georgia, and has
performed a lot in the U.S and China and has participated in numerous productions. The Ndani is
performed by a group of eight dancers composed of seven females and one male. The dancers are
all wearing shirts with sleeves rolled up to the elbows and pants also with the bottom rolled up to
about the middle of the tibia; females are wearing a tie while the male has a waistcoat on. The dance
is executed without any soundtrack; the rhythm is given by the taps of the dancers on the floor of
the stage and on their own body; some words are often sporadically pronounced with or without
forming a complete sentence. The dance begins with a dark stage, and only the taps and claps of...

Some of the movements executed by the dancers are similar to those executed by dancers in a
stepping performance and also in a tap dance presentation. This presentation falls into the group of
the new trends of modern dance, in which the choreographer are taking more and more liberty with
various dance combinations, and including strong messages in their work. I would definitely attend
other dance performance, not only from this company, but also by other companies; and would also
recommend this performance, especially to people going through a dark period in their life. This
performance finished convincing me that dance is surely the most communicative of the art forms,
and that a single presentation can convey more than one

The And Background Of Nightingale
One could argue, that the evolution of nursing began with Florence Nightingale. She has been
awarded the title of the founder of modern day nursing, and many of the practices she implemented
in an effort to improve patient care, has molded nursing practice into what is it today. The purpose
of this paper is to summarize the credentials and background of Nightingale, review her
environmental adaptation theory, and identify sources of her theory. We will also state the major
concepts/definitions of the theory as well as provide major assumptions of said theory. Credentials

Cherry and Jacob state that Nightingale introduced principles of asepsis and infection control, a
system for transcribing physician s orders, and a procedure to maintain patient records (Cherry

Thomas Hospital of London (Cherry Jacob, 2014). Not only is Nightingale the founder of
professional nursing, she is also recognized for contributing to nursing research, involvement in
political activism, and for her establishment to provide formal nursing education to pursing nurses
(Cherry Jacob, 2014). Nightingale s Environmental Adaptation Theory Florence Nightingale is very
well known for transforming nursing in general as we know it. She viewed nursing as an art and
educated nurses the proper practice of professional nursing. Her theory of practice focused on
environmental adaptation that served as the foundation for promoting health (Cherry Jacob, 2014,
p. 80). Nightingale believed that a patient s health and healing process was greatly affected by their
surrounding environment. She described that ventilation, warmth, noise, diet, light, chattering
hopes, and cleanliness were the standards of her theory (Cherry Jacob, 2014, p. 81). Nightingale

Myths on Cosmic Creation
Every person in America has a myth or conviction of truth as to how creation was formed and
human beings came into existence. The following are inclusive in creation myths, the first is the
Zulu myth found in the continent of Africa, and the other is the myth of Norse originating from
Europe. Both myths give a reason as to how creation was formed on earth. Though there are endless
amounts of ideas and vast amounts of myths to explore, the focus of these two particular myths
brings fascination to a social phenomenon.
The cycle of creation in the Zulu myth is as follows in the in text citation ( Zulu Creation ,
2011): Darkness was in the beginning accompanied by a large seed. The seed fell from heaven
and the seed produced reeds that grew called Uthlanga. One seed in particular grew into a man
and his named Unkulunkulu. He grew so large and heavy that he broke off and fell to earth. As he
fell, he walked earth with a purpose to grow other seeds into male and female. Outside of humans,
Unkulunkulu created animals, mountains, lakes, and the sun and moon. He taught female and
male how to survive by imparting agriculture to grow things, how to hunt, and make fire.
Unkulunkulu sent a chameleon into the world with the message that his people will live forever.
As this animal took too long, his impatience grew and a lizard sent out a message of death
completing the circle of birth to death.
The introduction of creation in the Norse myth is as follows from the in text citation

Feminist Theory On Sexual Violence
According to Beck and Harrison (2007), about 60,500 inmates housed in state and federal
facilities reported having at least one or more experiences as a victim of sexual violence.
Research conducted by D Alessio, Flexon, and Stolzenburg (2012), was used to determine if the
use of conjugal visitation in state prisons had an effect on the number of sexual violent acts
committed in prisons. D Alessio et al. (2012) used feminist theory and sexual gratification theory
to attempt to explain the cause of sexual violence in their research. Feminist theory argues that
individuals who commit sexually violent acts such as rape do so because of their strong need to
feel like they can control someone, feel powerful or dominant (D Alessio et al. 2012). According
to D Alessio et al. (2012), feminist theory can be used to explain many sexual violent crimes such
as, different types of rape, sexual victimization in the military, and college campus sexual assaults.
D Alessio et al. (2012), states that this theory derives from the idea that men are dominant, and
sexual violence is a result of the induvial needing to showcase their dominance on someone who
they believe to be vulnerable. Traditions that hold men to be dominant promote rape myths which
are based on stereotypes that shift the blame of rape from the offender to the victim. According to
D Alessio et al. (2012), sexual gratification theory argues that the offender commits sexual violent
acts in order to satisfy their sexual needs.

many of the 6.8 million Americans, who are affected by anxietydisorders. The effect of physical

is the cost of serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and benzodiazepines. Consequently,

The Cystic Fibrosis Gene
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited autosomal recessive disease that exerts its main effects on the
digestive system and the lungs. This disease is the most common lethal genetic disorder in
Caucasians, affecting one out of 2,500. On the bioethical front, CF was the first human genetic
disease to be cloned by geneticists. The intent of this paper is to describe how the cystic fibrosis

In order to determine the exact location of the CF gene, probes were taken from the nucleotide
sequence obtained from chromosome jumping. To find these probes, horse, cow, chicken, and
mouse DNA was separated using Southern Blot electrophoresis. Two probes were found to bind to
all of the vertebrates DNA. This meant that the base pairs within the probes contained related
information, possibly even the gene.
The Northern Blot electrophoresis technique was then used to distinguish between the two
probes still remaining in order tofind out which one actually contained the CF gene. This was
successful because Northern Blot electrophoresis tests RNA, not DNA. The RNA of cell types
affected with CF, along with the RNA of unaffected cell types were placed on a gel. Probe
number two bound to the RNA of affected cell types in the pancreas, colon, and nose (all CF
affected cells,) but did not bind to the RNA from non affected cell types like those of the brain and
heart. Probe number one did not bind exclusively to cell types from CF affected areas like number
two did. From this evidence, these scientists determined that probe number two contained the CF
gene.

of Chinese American descent. Wang is struggling with the identity of his ethnicity. The central
message that the author wishes to pass across is to encourage young people to embrace their
identities and desist from judging people based on their culture, race, and appearance. Throughout
the whole story, the main players experience lack of self acceptance because of the treatments they
receive from the society. Ironically, this is the same society that should accept them as part of its
own. Because of their cultural and racial differences, teenagers are discriminated against by the
society. As a result, these young people resort in doing things that are detrimental to their social

Francisco where he shouted Gold! Gold! Gold from the American River! (60). His motivation
for sharing the news was that he wanted to sell equipment to those who wanted to go on the
hunt for gold. Shortly after this, four thousand people were out looking for gold. Thus, many
stores were empty and newspapers were forced to shut down. The hunt for gold was thought to
be a fever Among those who flocked to the gold were soldiers who abandoned their posts in
pursuit of wealth. (61). They were only making a mere six dollars while some of the gold miners

overland route (66). It was estimated that over 100,000 travelers had used said trail by 1851.
With the news of gold spreading, many young Asians left to pursue gold. Manny Europeans also
made their journey to California. Between the years of 1847 and 1851, Irish immigration more
than doubled. California quickly became a melting pot of many races including: blacks,
Hawaiians, Peruvians, Germans, Mexicans, and the Chinese. Due to the many races represented
in California, there were also many languages and cultures. On February 2, 1848, in a 15 million
dollar cash deal, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed which added the land that Texas,
New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and California occupy to the United States. The
expansion in land lead to expansion in other ways as well. In 1851, a survey showed 537 liquor
stores, 46 gambling houses, and 48 houses of prostitution (69). One can clearly see there was a lot
of money to be made. With so much money on the line, people found ways to maximize their
profits. With the same spirit, the Anglos forced many people from the mines with violent threats.
They would then tax those who remained. This tax was in the form of a sixteen dollar a month

How Technology Has Changed Business Environment
I.Intro
As technology continues to advance, the accounting profession needs to adapt in order to continue
providing the most value to our clients. Technology has begun to change the way companies are
doing business. The technology has given executives the tools to better understand their data.
Decisions are no longer based on theory, but on data analysis leveraged by using algorithms. These
algorithms allow organizations to understand trends and patterns based on historical events.
Accountants have been stereotyped for many years as being anti social, individuals who only deal
with numbers. This stereotype could not be farther from the truth in today s business environment.
The ability to understand the underlying strategy, the systems, and how the various parts of the
organization communicate are critical to an accountant s success. The Institute of Management
Accounts realizes the changing business environment and have updated their definition of
management accounting accordingly. The definition now reads Management accounting is a
profession that involves partnering in a management decision making, devising planning, and
performance management systems, and providing expertise in financial reporting and control assist
management in the formulation and implementation of an organization s strategy. (Williams)
Accountants are now deemed to be knowledgeable in more than just financial reporting. Without a
clear understanding of how the systems work together accountants

The Yellow Rose Of Texas
Texas is well known for its history throughout time. Following the history of Texas, there are many
different myths and legends. From the First Texans to the Legend of Houston, the oil industry all
the way to the myth of the Cowboy Culture. I m going to talk about just ten of these myths and
legends that I find interesting. The Yellow Rose of Texas
is about a young slave woman by the
name of Emily West Morgan in the antebellum era in Texas. The myth has it that Emily was the
reason that Santa Anna lost the Battle of Jacinto, by distracting him during Houston s surprise
attack. According to the legend, Santa Anna was attracted to Emily and she uses this to help
distract Santa Anna from his military duties. Thus allowing Houston to achieve his surprise
attack. This is in the reading because there is a lot of talk whether the Yellow Rose was indeed
apart of Houston s victory at the Battle of Jacinto. The Legend of Sam Houston and his true
intentions for Texas. This Legend is about Sam Houston and his arrival in Texas in December
1832. It is said that when he arrived in Mexico, he carried with him an American passport to
identify him as an official of the United States. It seems unlikely that he went to talk with the
Comanche Indians since he has never met with them before. Instead it is believed that Houston was
sent to Mexico by President Andrew Jackson as a plan to annex this region to the United States.

Junie B Jones Character Analysis
The Destructive Influence of Junie B. Jones The Junie B. Jones series has become extremely
popular over the years. There are many people that love the stories because of how witty Junie
B. is. It is also true that a large number of children can connect with her since Barbra Park created
the series with Junie B. speaking in first person as the narrator. However, there are a lot of
concerns with the amount of disrespect seen by Junie. Additionally, there could be an educational
confusion for children who are trying to learn to read and pronounce words correctly. The Junie B.
Jonesseries basically glorifies being bad, not listening to adults and using language that a five or
six year old should not be using. The ruthless actions and improper usage of communication by
Junie B. in the Junie B. Jones series can be very confusing and misleading for the young children
that are expected to read these books.
Character Choices The different types of characters in Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey
Business play important roles in the story. The diverse age groups help to show how Junie B. is
disrespectful to all of those that surround her. The main characters are Junie B. Jones, Mother,
Daddy, Grampa Miller, Grandma Miller, Lucille, that Grace, Mrs., that mean Jim, Ollie and the
principle. These characters are very effective because they add to the story in their own individual
ways. They were made to help keep the audience laughing, but in reality they just help by adding
more people that Junie B. is disrespectful to in the story.
Ruthless Actions
Junie B. is characterized as an ungrateful and spoiled child. With that being said, many people
believe that the actions of Junie B. Jones are minor and can be seen as fun and playful since her
age. However, these are not the average actions of the well mannered six and seven year olds
that may be reading the books. The way that the story is written makes children think that it is
okay to have unacceptable behavior at a very young age. Junie B. continuously acts out and is
regularly disobedient. The series more or less makes light of bad behavior. It is supposed to be
funny when Junie B. does not respond to her parents when they are trying to speak to her, or when

The Consequences Of Capitalism And Authenticity
Capitalism or Authenticity Considering the way in which people live their lives these days, it
can be noted that they are not living a balanced life; if a balanced life is to be considered as the
life which includes both capitalistic involvement and family time in equal portions . Every
average individual favors a capitalistic world, and this desire brings many complications which
result in unbalanced lifestyles. That is mainly because capitalism requires time dedication which
people willingly dedicate, and this obstructs the gateway to the balanced life. Hence, people are
unable to spend an equal amount of time with their families as they are at their workplace.
Families and friends can provide the people with genuine happiness and a stress free
environment, the two factors that capitalism fails in providing even if the people, like Adam
Gopnik, love the career life they re living. people s minds are soaked with the idea that capitalism
will lead them to success, to living the life they want in the future, so they continue to become an
active part of the capitalistic world. However, although capitalism rewards the people with money,
which is the number one concern for many, it fails in rewarding the people with a balanced lifestyle.
Due to the increasing interest in joining the capitalistic life, individuals believe successful
capitalists have to be very productive and so they spend hours and hours of their valuable time
putting their maximum effort in becoming

The Impact Of NCSA And The Native Corporation System On...
In considering how Natives have been treated in American history, it can be surmised that
NCSA and the Native corporation system have been good for Alaska Natives. For the most part,
ANCSA and the Native corporation system have had a positive impact on Alaska Natives. For
example, in that era of American history, ANCSA was the largest land claim settlement. And for
another example, the Native corporation system was set up in a way, that it safeguarded the land
and cash settlement, so it would profit future generations of Alaska Natives and nonnatives as
well. Nevertheless, ANCSA and the Native corporation system have had a negative impact as
well. Such as, ANCSA was not seen as a good deal for all the Alaskan Natives. Because ANCSA
caused confusion over governing structures of the tribes, many Natives believed that ANCSA made
their tribes weak. Furthermore, during their first twenty years, the Alaska Native regional
corporations endured huge profits losses in their effort to parlay control of their land, their natural

The Rise Of The Gunpowder Empires
The rise of the west was a time in which European nations became more advanced and had an
increase of power and dominance. Europe became a dominant nation in the 16th Century while two
large Gunpowder empires began to decline. These European nations dominated because they had
technological advancements. Some of which were gunpowder, cannons, and much more. Both the
Ottoman and the Ming Empires rose to the top and then declined after the European nations began
to advance. The European Miracle was when the European nations began to advance in technology,
they expanded, and dominated the world. China was a very advanced civilization during the 16th
Centuryand rose to power. They had large libraries, conducted trade by using a series of canals.
They also had large cities and used paper money for trade. The Chinese invented the gunpowder
and the magnetic compass. They had a very large navy with over 2,000 vessels in all sizes and they
conducted overseas expeditions. After the last Chinese expedition, there was an imperial edict that
banned the construction of ships with more than two masts. Warships were put away and not
maintained. The navy was too costly and the Chinese wanted to spend their money defending their
Northern frontiers from the Mongols. This did not require a large navy. Paul Kennedy stated that in
this Restoration atmosphere, the all important officialdom was concerned to preserve and recapture
the past, not to create a brighter

The Use of Parallelism in Fahrenheit 451 Essays
The book that will be reviewed is Fahrenheit 451, written by Ray Bradbury. The author used the
effect of parallelism extremely well by showing the similarities of both then and now. In the
following paragraphs we re going to encounter these parallelisms, we will compare the book to
the time period in which it was written, and our own time period post September 11. Before we
can do this we must first get to know the author and the era in which it was based off of just a bit.
To get a clear view and understanding of the book, first must review the time period in history.
The book was written in the mid 1950 s during the cold war. Former General McCarthy, then U.S.
Senator started a fire ball of suspicion, suppression, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People in that time period just wanted to distance themselves from anyone on the list due to the
government s overwhelming power, and the intense fear of losing everything they had. This
society lived when communism was feared; it ate up the freedoms they had in their society. The
rights and freedoms that were once taken for granted were now longed for. Now that there is a
brief understanding of the time period we can now take a look at the book.
The governmental control of the society in Fahrenheit 451 is unbelievable; it s unbelievable to think
that the government could have so much control. The government has so much control due to the
loss of individuality caused by conformity. According to the author, They all say the same things
and nobody says anything different from anyone else (Bradbury 31). This was done in several
ways; some of the ways were through the lack of books, education (or what we believe education to
be), and the lack of teachers. The influence (pure control) of the government over the media,
education, and any literature that was available to the public. The media and entertainment is
controlled by the government to the point that its citizens have better relationships with media
personalities than with their own families. The government grasped the rights of education by not
educating and allowing its students to run a muck. According to the author, Clarisse I m afraid of
children my own age. They kill each other (Bradbury

Essay On Patch Antenna 2 2 Microstrip Patch Antenna Array Fed by Substrate Integrated Waveguide for Radar Applications Chandan Baranwal, ME, BIT Mesra Abstract A 2 2 microstrip patch antenna array fed by a sub strate integrated waveguide (SIW) feeding network for 24 GHz radar applications is suggested in this paper. The microstrip patches are aperture coupled with the feeding network comprising of a perpendicular coax to SIW transition and two Y junction power dividers. The antennadesign is performed in the ANSYS HFSS using finite element method for EM solutions and the procured results have been verified by measurement in Lab. At the frequency 24.4 GHz, the prototype has a gain of 9.28 dBi. Index Terms Antenna array, microstrip patch, power... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this paper, an AC MPA element fed by an SIW is used as a building block for the design of a small antenna array. The proposed antenna combines the benefits of microstrip patch antennas with the advantages of SIW technology. SIW is utilized in order to minimize transmission losses in the feeding part. In addition, an SIW based feeding network does not radiate any spurious radiation that could affect the radiation pattern of the antenna array. Therefore, any additional shielding of the feeding part or the reflector is not required in comparison to the microstrip line feeding technique for AC MPAs. The antenna array design is carried out for a 24 GHz radar system. The paper presents the simulated and experimental results of the proposed antenna array. II.ANTENNA ARRAY CONFIGURATION The structure of the proposed antenna array is shown in Fig. 1. The antenna consists of 2 2 aperture coupled microstrip patch antennas fed by an SIW based feeding network. The in phase uniform feeding for the array consists of three SIW based power dividers. The antenna array is fed by a coaxial connector. The configuration of a single AC MPA element used for the antenna array design is shown in Fig. 2. The rectangular microstrip patch of width and length is placed on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Psychoanalytic Theory Of Human Development Psychoanalytic Theory Psychoanalytic Theory is a theory of human development that holds that irrational, unconscious drives and motives, often originating in childhood, underlie human behavior. It is thought to influence every aspect of thinking and behavior, from the smallest details of life to the crucial choices of a lifetime. Sigmund Freud is an Austrian physician who believed the stages of human development were characterized by sexual pleasure centered on a particular part of the body. Oral Stage (Birth to 1 year) In infancy, everything the child gets a hold of goes to their mouth. The lips, tongue, and gums are the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. They love to suck on their fingers or pacifier majority of the time, even in their sleep. Anal Stage (1 3 years) The anal is the focus of pleasurable sensations in the baby s body. During this time children are beginning toilet training. They are now able to interpret when they need to use the restroom and able to communicate to the parents when they need to go. Phallic Stage (3 6 years) During this stage, the penis is the most important body part, and pleasure is derived from genital stimulation. This is the time when they begin to discover their genitals, girls may ask questions while on the other hand, boys may feel a sense of pride. Latency (6 11 years) During this age of development sexual needs quieten down and children begin to focus on social activities with friends. Genital ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, cost reimbursement contracts has massive divergent with a fixed price contract, that the contractor get is paid with the discussed expenses. Moreover, there are several contract type that federal agencies can choose. Firstly, is fixed price, secondly is time and materials, and lastly is cost reimbursement. Each contract has its own specialty and risk to the employer. Different types of contract can be used to surge the motivational level of the contractor and to surge the ultimate result of the project that are in progress by the contractor. There are two big reasons for the disability to estimate the price precisely. Firstly, is the lack of understanding regarding the contract demand. Then, is the not enough experience in work performing, such as the evolution of an armor structure where production ability and detailing are sufficiently unstable to warrant contracting on a fixed price basis. When these order occur, the use of a cost reimbursement contract may be suitable. Conversely, when variability have been declined to a commandable phase, a fixed price contract normally is used. • 5. Research Methodology For A Researcher RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research methodology involves the design which a researcher ought to use to study a topic of interest. It therefore involves the procedure by which researchers undertake their work and the framework within which is conducted (Rajasekar et al., 2013; Remenyi et al., 1998). Research Methodology aids research planning, if properly design it will enable a researcher to arrive at results or findings and tools that can either be used to disprove or approve such knowledge. (Nachamias et al., 1996; Saunders et al.,2003). This chapter outlines data collection procedure as well as how data is analyse for this study. These involve choice of the sampling frame, sampling techniques, how interviews were designed and conducted as well as questionnaire administration, time horizon, transcription of interviews and analysis of responses, ethical concerns and limitations of the methods. Qualitative Research Methods Qualitative research method was chosen for this study. It involves an interpretative inquiry and a naturalistic approach to an area of study (Denzin, Lincoln, 2005; Qazi, 2011). Researchers therefore make an interpretation of what they observe, hear, and understand (Creswell 2003). Qualitative research method was suitable and adopted to deal with the study objectives since the research was more naturalistic, participant driven and comprehensive (Ciceu, 2015) as well as inquiring. • 6. Analysis Of The Cat In The Hat The Cat in the Hat is a picture book, written and illustrated by Theodor Geisel under the pen name Doctor Seuss. The book was published in 1957 and follows the actions of an eccentric anthropomorphic cat who wears a red and white striped hat, colloquially named The Cat in the Hat. When the cat invades the house of two children, Sally and Conrad, while their mum is out, he is extremely destructive and, much to the children s despair, everything spirals out of control. At their mum s arrival in the driveway, the children eventually convince the cat to leave but are then left with the mammoth task of cleaning the house. Everything seems lost until the cat returns to clean the house after a dramatic change of heart. The struggle between order and chaos is the most predominant theme in this text, presented through the cat s conflict with the children. Order and chaos is also paramount in another picture book of similar style, written much later by Seuss in 1971, The Lorax. A similar conflict is presented between the protagonist and antagonist, the Lorax and the Once ler. When the Once ler discovers a peculiar forest filled with wondrous Truffula Trees, he begins to ravage the trees to produce sweater like objects called thneeds, much to the dismay of the Lorax. The texts incorporate a range of techniques to present the struggle between the voices of order and chaos, in the protagonist against the antagonist. Characterisation, setting, narrative structure, stylistic devices and narrative voice are used by Doctor Seuss in similar and contrasting ways to demonstrate the same theme of order and chaos in the books, and despite having the same author, different contexts, based on the time period when the books were written, introduce alternative perspectives. Written with similar purpose and by the same author, both The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax have a target audience of young children and employ relevant language and stylistic devices that allow the key theme of order and chaos to be portrayed to the younger audience. The most significant techniques used by Seuss in both The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax are rhythm and repetition, which emphasise the characters emotions. Thus, the younger audience can more easily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Effect Of Ph On Enzyme Activity Of Peroxidase Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase Thomas Stinde March 15, 2016 Coconino Community College Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase For us to understand what the effects pH have on enzyme activity of peroxidase, we must first define what an enzyme is and what is done as well as a peroxidase. According to the Oxford Dictionary of English, an enzyme is, a substance produced by a living organism which acts as a catalyst to bring about a specific biochemical reaction (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Nearly all enzymes are proteins which have large complex molecules whose actions depends on their molecular shape. Some enzymes dictate reactions inside cells and some, such as enzymes which deal with digestion, outside the cell (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). The factors which affect enzyme activity are the environmental conditions. If these conditions are changed, then the enzyme reaction rate is altered. In nature, organisms will make adjustments to their enzyme conditions to create an optimal reaction rate, when needed, or the organisms will contain enzymes which are modified to operate efficiently in extreme environments where they live. Peroxidase is, an enzyme that catalyses the oxidation of a particular substrate by hydrogen peroxide (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Hydrogen peroxide is a byproduct of cellular respiration; therefore, the peroxidase is located in the cytoplasm of the cell. In our lab, we checked the reaction rate of peroxidase and tried to find the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Poignant Prophet By Aldous Huxley The Poignant Prophet One could say that Aldous Huxley was born into greatness, or one could also say that his greatness was forged from his experiences. Neither would be wrong. Huxley was a third son born in 1894, into a family that was distinguished on both sides. He was able to attend paid public school and later attended Eton. Huxley suffered three great traumas that affected his life deeply. The first would be the death of his beloved mother in 1908; he would later express this experience in a near autobiographic novel Eyeless in Gaza in 1936. In a final letter to her son written on her deathbed, she told him, Don t be too critical of people and love much . Huxley later added in 1915, ... I have come to see more and more how wise that advice was. It s her warning against a rather conceited and selfish fault of my own and it s a whole philosophy of life (Garret). In 1911, Huxley contracted keratitis punctata, causing blindness for nearly 18 months resulting in poor vision for the rest of his life. In that time he learned to read braille and gave up his plan to become a doctor due to his poor vision and he instead planned to become a writer. The third and final traumatic experience would be the suicide of his older brother Trevenen who had comforted him during his temporary blindness. The factors that may have attributed to the suicide may have been his failure to achieve honors at Oxford University and a love affair with a woman of a differing social class. In ... D. 6 November 2016 Introduction Organizations that behave ethically are more apt to earn the trust of their customers, employees, and stockholders. To become successful and hold a great reputation within any company, one must know right from wrong, but more importantly make those hard decisions to do what is right. Once a member within a corporation starts to cheat, steal, and coerce the system, it becomes a domino effect that leaves devastating ramifications. We will discuss issues like falsifying financial statements, improper use of company funds, ethical behaviors and unethical behaviors. Fairness The first virtue that I choose to discuss within this paper is the word fairness. Fair is defined as agreeing with what is thought to be right or acceptable; treating people in a way that does not favor some over others; not too harsh or critical (Merriam Webster Dictionary, n.d.). With this simple definition, Mattel founded Global Manufacturing Principles (GMP), whose intent was to identify and fix issues within their companies like wages an hours, child labor, forced labor, discrimination, freedom of association, legal and ethical business practices, product safety and product quality, just to name a few ( XX). Mattel set the standards of becoming a socially responsible corporation by putting into place GMP that ensured their corporation not only made money, but also treated ... Vampire Chronicles featured vampires who are romantic and are the opposite of how they were first introduced (Laming, n.d.). In the year 2005, Stephenie Meyer published the phenomenal Twilight, the first book to the epic series that gave birth to billions of vampire addicted teens and tweens in the 21st century. It all started when Meyer dreamt of a scene in 2003 wherein a handsome young vampire was talking to an ordinary human girl. After having this dream, she decided to make a story out of it. After many sleepless nights and countless instances where she wanted to give up, she still continued on working. And all that work finally paid off when that dream finally became Twilight. Twilight is about a story of two individuals who fell in love with each other. The difference it makes from other love stories is that Twilight is a love story between a human and a vampire, specifically Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Bella Swan was just an ordinary girl, but to Edward Cullen, she was the most exquisite thing he has ever seen in his 104 years of existence. He treated her better than how he treated anyone else, even himself. He loved her like there is nothing else to love. He made her his reason for living. All these were perfectly described in the book. As someone who was able to read about their love story, who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Primary to understanding the need for such study is realizing the adverse effects pointing to countless victims along with brutal violations of self serving agendas. (Brian K. Miller, 2008) Studies note that there are positive political tactics, such as persuasion, reference to super ordinate goals, development of coalitions, and networking. (Brian K. Miller, 2008) Some may want to believe that, however the unrecoverable loss associated with job satisfaction, organizational reputation, and employee commitment when organizations allow unsanctioned business practices into their culture is undeniable. The question seemingly never considered is; why would an organization choose such a culture, how do leaders change it; and foremost, shouldn t leaders do so with an interdisciplinary approach? Empirical Studies There have thousands upon thousands of empirical studies performed at a scholarly level over the course of two decades. Experienced researchers of multiple disciplines from Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Sociology, and Ethics have categorically focused their theories upon five of the most prevailing factors common to overall job fulfillment; job satisfaction, ... • 13. The Conflict Between Christian Faith And Those Of Islamic... As a global collective, the human past is purely one of conflict. Power struggles are widespread and unique in context, but these struggles are not special in the presence or complexity of the self versus other conflict within them. One of the strongest examples for this assertion is the First Crusades. At face value, any observer can immediately take notice of the separation between those of Christian faith and those of Islamic faith. If additional diligence in research is provided, any one of these observers begins to find the endlessly deeper self versus other struggles present on both sides, specifically amongst the Christian military. Numerous accounts from Christian actors serve to support this argument; the recorded thoughts of both soldiers and intellectuals detail the surprising amount of divisions between what should be the Christian united. The relationship between the self and the other present in the mindset of the actors of the Crusades shows that a definite, dynamic, yet necessary division between all groups of people exists, no matter the already established bonds of any collective. One of the most complicated pieces to the self versus other puzzle is the dynamic nature of its idealistic segregation. Each person involved with the First Crusadehad an undeniable loyalty to God. In an effort seemingly meant to cultivate more glory, some saw it fitting to sacrifice established intercommunity bonds for the sake of peer provided glory. The glory promised by Pope ... Outside of humans, Unkulunkulu created animals, mountains, lakes, and the sun and moon. He taught female and male how to survive by imparting agriculture to grow things, how to hunt, and make fire. D Alessio et al. (2012) used feminist theory and sexual gratification theory to attempt to explain the cause of sexual violence in their research. Feminist theory argues that individuals who commit sexually violent acts such as rape do so because of their strong need to feel like they can control someone, feel powerful or dominant (D Alessio et al. 2012). According to D Alessio et al. (2012), feminist theory can be used to explain many sexual violent crimes such as, different types of rape, sexual victimization in the military, and college campus sexual assaults. D Alessio et al. (2012), states that this theory derives from the idea that men are dominant, and sexual violence is a result of the induvial needing to showcase their dominance on someone who they believe to be vulnerable. Traditions that hold men to be dominant promote rape myths which are based on stereotypes that shift the blame of rape from the offender to the victim. According to D Alessio et al. And those who cannot accept it are simply left behind by society. Dylan directly and metaphorically addresses this in his song. Additionally, I consider this theme to be timeless because even today people push for change while others try to bar them, often stirring up controversy. 1st paragraph: Bob Dylan, an American poet/ songwriter wrote the song The Times they are a Changing. • 34. The Yellow Rose Of Texas Texas is well known for its history throughout time. Following the history of Texas, there are many different myths and legends. From the First Texans to the Legend of Houston, the oil industry all the way to the myth of the Cowboy Culture. I m going to talk about just ten of these myths and legends that I find interesting. The Yellow Rose of Texas is about a young slave woman by the name of Emily West Morgan in the antebellum era in Texas. The myth has it that Emily was the reason that Santa Anna lost the Battle of Jacinto, by distracting him during Houston s surprise attack. According to the legend, Santa Anna was attracted to Emily and she uses this to help distract Santa Anna from his military duties. Thus allowing Houston to achieve his surprise attack. This is in the reading because there is a lot of talk whether the Yellow Rose was indeed apart of Houston s victory at the Battle of Jacinto. The Legend of Sam Houston and his true intentions for Texas. This Legend is about Sam Houston and his arrival in Texas in December 1832. It is said that when he arrived in Mexico, he carried with him an American passport to identify him as an official of the United States. It seems unlikely that he went to talk with the Comanche Indians since he has never met with them before. Instead it is believed that Houston was sent to Mexico by President Andrew Jackson as a plan to annex this region to the United States. • 35. Junie B Jones Character Analysis The Destructive Influence of Junie B. Jones The Junie B. Jones series has become extremely popular over the years. There are many people that love the stories because of how witty Junie B. is. It is also true that a large number of children can connect with her since Barbra Park created the series with Junie B. speaking in first person as the narrator. However, there are a lot of concerns with the amount of disrespect seen by Junie. Additionally, there could be an educational confusion for children who are trying to learn to read and pronounce words correctly. The Junie B. Jonesseries basically glorifies being bad, not listening to adults and using language that a five or six year old should not be using. The ruthless actions and improper usage of communication by Junie B. in the Junie B. Jones series can be very confusing and misleading for the young children that are expected to read these books. Character Choices The different types of characters in Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business play important roles in the story. The diverse age groups help to show how Junie B. is disrespectful to all of those that surround her. The main characters are Junie B. Jones, Mother, Daddy, Grampa Miller, Grandma Miller, Lucille, that Grace, Mrs., that mean Jim, Ollie and the principle. These characters are very effective because they add to the story in their own individual ways. They were made to help keep the audience laughing, but in reality they just help by adding more people that Junie B. is disrespectful to in the story. Ruthless Actions Junie B. is characterized as an ungrateful and spoiled child. With that being said, many people believe that the actions of Junie B. Jones are minor and can be seen as fun and playful since her age. However, these are not the average actions of the well mannered six and seven year olds that may be reading the books. The way that the story is written makes children think that it is okay to have unacceptable behavior at a very young age. Junie B. continuously acts out and is regularly disobedient. The series more or less makes light of bad behavior. It is supposed to be funny when Junie B. does not respond to her parents when they are trying to speak to her, or when she ... The Consequences Of Capitalism And Authenticity Capitalism or Authenticity Considering the way in which people live their lives these days, it can be noted that they are not living a balanced life; if a balanced life is to be considered as the life which includes both capitalistic involvement and family time in equal portions . • 39. The Impact Of NCSA And The Native Corporation System On... In considering how Natives have been treated in American history, it can be surmised that NCSA and the Native corporation system have been good for Alaska Natives. For the most part, ANCSA and the Native corporation system have had a positive impact on Alaska Natives. For example, in that era of American history, ANCSA was the largest land claim settlement. And for another example, the Native corporation system was set up in a way, that it safeguarded the land and cash settlement, so it would profit future generations of Alaska Natives and nonnatives as well. Nevertheless, ANCSA and the Native corporation system have had a negative impact as well. Such as, ANCSA was not seen as a good deal for all the Alaskan Natives. Because ANCSA caused confusion over governing structures of the tribes, many Natives believed that ANCSA made their tribes weak. Furthermore, during their first twenty years, the Alaska Native regional corporations endured huge profits losses in their effort to parlay control of their land, their natural resources, and their capital. After the last Chinese expedition, there was an imperial edict that banned the construction of ships with more than two masts. Warships were put away and not maintained. Now that there is a brief understanding of the time period we can now take a look at the book. The governmental control of the society in Fahrenheit 451 is unbelievable; it s unbelievable to think that the government could have so much control. The government has so much control due to the loss of individuality caused by conformity. According to the author, They all say the same things and nobody says anything different from anyone else (Bradbury 31). This was done in several ways; some of the ways were through the lack of books, education (or what we believe education to be), and the lack of teachers. The media and entertainment is controlled by the government to the point that its citizens have better relationships with media personalities than with their own families.
