How To Write Paragraphs In An Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write Paragraphs In An Essay" may seem deceptively
simple at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of effective paragraph construction reveals
a complexity that can be quite challenging. The difficulty arises from the need to balance
creativity, coherence, and clarity while adhering to established writing conventions.
Firstly, one must grapple with the task of breaking down ideas into distinct paragraphs. This
requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to organize thoughts logically.
Each paragraph should have a clear focus, a central idea, and a smooth transition to the next.
Achieving this cohesion demands a mastery of the art of transitioning between paragraphs
seamlessly.
Furthermore, the challenge lies in maintaining a balance between conciseness and elaboration.
Striking the right chord between providing enough detail to support one's argument and avoiding
unnecessary verbosity can be a delicate endeavor. It requires a keen sense of the essay's overall
structure and the purpose of each paragraph within that framework.
Another obstacle emerges when considering the need for variation in paragraph structure.
Readers can quickly lose interest if every paragraph follows the same monotonous pattern.
Achieving a dynamic flow involves incorporating diverse sentence structures, employing
effective transitions, and strategically placing key information.
Additionally, writers must be attuned to the nuances of language and style. Choosing the right
words, employing proper grammar, and ensuring coherence throughout the essay contribute
significantly to its overall quality. This level of attention to detail requires a thorough
understanding of the mechanics of writing.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the intricacies of writing paragraphs in an essay demands
more than just a surface-level understanding of the topic. It requires a nuanced approach that
considers both the micro and macro aspects of composition. The difficulty lies not only in
conveying information but in doing so in a manner that engages and captivates the reader. It's a
task that necessitates a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and a solid grasp of writing
conventions.

Thank You Ma Am Theme
In the short story, Thank You Ma am, by Longston Hughs a powerful message is
communicated. The story begins on an empty street in New York City where Roger
attempts to steal Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jone s purse. Roger has to decide
between running away or going with her. At her home she lets him wash his face, eat
dinner and she gives him $10s to buy blue suede shoes. All this generosity leaves
Roger speechless at the end of the story. He could barely say Thank you ma am .
And then Roger never saw her again. Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones has every
reason to reprisal against Roger, but doesn t. As readers we are left with the question,
why does Mr. Luella Bates Washington Jones take Roger home? I believe that Mrs.
Luella took roger home to teach him how to be selfless not selfish. An important
lesson we seem to assume Roger lacks. My first evidence for this claim is the
quote, Well you didn t have to snatch my pocket book to get some suede shoes, said
Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. You could have asked me. (page 5, lines 96
98) Which proves that the reason why Mrs. Luella takes Roger home is because she
wants to teach him how to be selfless not selfish. There are several keywords that
prove my claim such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

words that help support my claim is thank you . This shows his appreciation for
what Mrs. Luella had done for him. Earlier before that he feels overwhelmed by the

To Read or Not to Read...That is the Question.
In college, there are two main classifications of books: those read because they are
required reading and those read because they are desired reading. Sometime
however, a book can be read to both fulfill a class requirement, and be enjoyed on
its own merit: The Alchemy of Race and Rights: Diary of a Law Professor, by
Patricia J Williams, is one such book. It is obvious what makes a book required
reading, but what is it that makes a book desired, enjoyable, even fulfilling reading?
In a polling of several university students, the most common responses to this
question were: the book must be well written ; a book in which the reader can
personally relate to the writer or characters is held in much ... Show more content on

In the pages of this book, the readers are transformed from readers to listeners,
listening to the troubles and concerns of a close friend. By sharing so candidly her
personal beliefs, Williams is able to gain and keep the interest of her readers by
allowing them to personally relate to her and the characters she describes.
Not everyone agrees with Williams personal style of writing, and some have even
asked, Whether... [her] personal style is too much for an academic audience (92).
To this question, I answer emphatically NO! What would be too much for an
academic audience is if Williams tried to cover the same socially hushed issue of
racism in any way other than personal. Adopting a personal approach, Williams is not
only able to address this taboo issue, but she can do it in a way as to keep her readers

Analysis Of The Article Chambersburg And Gettysburg...
In the nineteenth century the daily life for the average American was changing, with
the industrial revolution in full swing, Americans began to see changes in the
economy, transportation, increases in food production, and the birth of the American
system of manufacturing. America was modernizing, but modernization took place
mostly in the north creating a divide between the south which remained agriculturally
based. Daily life in the northern United Statestook on the hustle and bustle of a
modern economy which can be seen in articles from the Valley Spirit. In the article
Chambersburg and Gettysburg Railroad, the citizens of Fayetteville are interested in
building a railroad linking the two towns. Fayetteville s citizens have already
contributed eighty dollars towards having the path surveyed and would like for the
citizens of Franklin County to donate the remaining fifty dollars to have the project
completed in a timely manner (Chambersburg and Gettysburg Railroad). The editors
of this article express great confidence in Franklin County s citizen s will to support
this project (Chambersburg and Gettysburg Railroad). This article shows the mind set
of northern Americans and their willingness to work together to modernize and
improve the infrastructure of their towns and cities. Another example of this mindset
and desire to improve the infrastructure can be seen in the article For the Valley
Spirit, which talks about the construction of a bridge crossing the Franklin
The Importance Of Cellular Respiration
It can be said that cellular respiration is one of, if not the most important
biochemical reactions, this applies even more so for humans. This metabolic
pathway is intricate to say the least, yet so very fascinating. It is from this process
that we derive energy from the food we consume. It creates our fuel, in specific
glucose. Majority of what we consume or at least carbohydrates, breaks down into
glucose. The formula for glucose is C6H12O6 (Phelan, 2010). Through cellular
respirationenergy is produced, and this energy is generated to complete everyday
tasks, produce heat within our bodies, and to provide electrical impulses in our
brains. This is done so by cells releasing energy from the chemical bonds of food
molecules and providing that energy for the essential processes of life. All living
cells must carry out cellular respiration. This process can be either aerobic or
anaerobic. Unlike prokaryotic cells who carry out cellular respiration within their
cytoplasm or on the inner surfaces of their cell, the mitochondria are the site of most
of the reactions, including cellular respiration, occur in eukaryotic cells. ATP is the
energy currency in these cells. In other words, the outcome of cellular respiration is
as a production process for ATP (Phelan, 2010)
The first stage is called glycolysis, which can take place without the presence of
molecular oxygen, which is called anaerobic respiration. If oxygen is present in the
cell, then the cell can subsequently take
Conflict Between Conflict And Conflict
There is no single, precise definition of the word conflict. However, most people
recognize conflict in the forms of tension, frustration, verbal or physical abuse,
disagreement, annoyance, or rivalry (Carter and Byrnes, 2006). Conflict can occur
when two or more individuals or groups have differing interests. Additionally, conflict
often involves one or both sides determinedly interfering with the efforts of the other
side to achieve its goals. However, conflict can occur when two sides are trying to
cooperate in accomplishing a common goal but have conflicting thoughts on the best
course of action to pursue. Conflict can range from friendly competition to extreme
violence (Carter et al., 2006). In studying the numerous varieties... Show more content

A positive conflict concludes in mutual satisfaction (Drafke, 2009). Below are the
benefits that might result in positive conflicts: 1. As a consequence of a conflict,
talents, and abilities might emerge. When an individual encounters conflict, he or
she may become more resourceful than they are in a calm state (Dubrin, 2017).
Conflict often instills creativity in people (Dubrin, 2017). For example, research
has shown that workers exposed to a mild conflict in the work environment often
obtained more job associated information. Therefore, they performed their jobs
better (Dubrin, 2017). 2. Experiencing conflict can enable one to feel better since
conflict fulfills some psychological needs. Even though most people like a good
fight, most individuals will be content to argue as a substitute (Dubrin, 2017). 3.
Conflict can cause people to become united. As a result of a conflict, individuals
involved may be made more accommodating to each other in the aftermath (Dubrin,
2017). Many believe that accommodation of disputing parties is a result of mutual
experiences of being in a conflict (Dubrin, 2017) 4. Conflict can avert poor decisions
in that it prevents people from agreeing too fast with each other. A potential problem
of group decision making is what many refer to groupthink. Groupthink emerges
when some groups become so cohesive that their tendency to agree
Dual Language Service Experience Paper
Experiencing anything new is always a step outside of my comfort zone, and with
this project in particular whether it was going to someone else s church or
bringing them to mine. I felt confident when it came to going to someone else s
church, because I had a sense of what to expect and felt as though I knew enough
about the environment. However, when it came to bringing someone to my
church I did not feel that same sense of confidence. I have a primary church(full
member), and I have another church that is smaller and more family like. I chose
to bring my guest(Andrew H) to my smaller church, because the size would not
have been has impactful as well as they do a dual language service(haitian creole

Cost-effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization...
The Cost effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization Program for the United
States was designed to estimate the economic impact of a national rotavirus
immunization program. The research question and objective of the analysis was to
determine if a rotavirus vaccine immunization program would be beneficial and cost
effective. The study is policy relevant because it will determine if a rotavirusvaccine
immunization program is effective enough for implementation and will assist in
setting priorities for policy makers. The conclusions of the analysis will affect
healthcare providers, doctors, hospitals, the vaccine users, and society as a whole.
To cultivate results that illustrate a need for a rotavirus immunization program,
decision analysis is an appropriate method because the decisions are objective rather
than subjective, they are more focused on operations instead of strategy, and they
encompass repetition rather than infrequency. Decision analysis looks to distinguish
the most appropriate alternative outcomes and extracts data that identifies elements
of the program that reflect value or disvalue. Additionally, it takes the viewpoint of
the organization when decision making, opposed to an individual standpoint.
Date included in the study consisted of the number of physician and emergency room
visits, incidence rates, rotavirus infections, mortality estimates, hospitalizations,
hospital discharge records, affected children, and vaccine coverage. The
Similarities Between Everett And Odysseus
Ulysses Everett McGill is an escaped convict on the run with two other inmates by
the names of Delmar and Pete, Everett is shown to be filled with pride and
intelligence which sometimes kicks in which might be good or bad. Everett can
easily be compared to Odysseus through several characteristics physically and
emotionally, such as pride. Odysseusthe epic hero can be described as selfless,
intelligent, and loving. Evidence from O Brother Where Art Thou, and The Odyssey
sufficiently defends Everett as a direct representation of Odysseus through selfish
behavior, loving emotions, and ruthless actions. Throughout the movie Everett
portrays Odysseus by his selfish behavior, which is similar to what Odysseus does
in book 9 of the epic. Everett acts selfishly by lying to Pete and Delmar about the
existence of a treasure , to manipulate them into helping him get back to his wife.
This displays Everett s selfish act can get him and his... Show more content on

When Everett first sees the suitor that is about to marry his wife he immediately
uses forceful actions against the man by getting into a fight with him in the
middle of the store. This proves his actions are not always thought through. As a
result of this he doesn t get any closer to getting his wife back which makes him
sort of depressed that his wife doesn t express the same love for him that he does
for her. This anger that is powering his actions can also be found in Odysseus.
Odysseus cannot withhold his anger against the suitors for trying to marry his
wife any longer after saying, You dared bid for my wife while I was still alive , and
ended up killing all the suitors with his bow and arrow and a little help from his
son. For this reason, Odysseus better demonstrates the epic hero archetype by
showing himself as a powerful being which can also be viewed in Everett s point of

The United States Government System Essay
The United States government system is very interesting and complexly designed.
The state and federal government is a mirror of each other when it comes to the
generics of the executive branch, legislative branch, and judicial branch, however,
internally the state government has major differences on how the branches are
conducted. Throughout this paper we will discuss the greatest difference between
state and federal, which is the state cannot change or remove laws passed by the
federal government but they could change how they execute the federal laws to their
liking as long as it is constitutional.

The executive branch controls the National Guard , which act as the states military
designed to protect their borders against all foreign and domestic enemies. Then there
is the legislative branch that is comprised of representatives elected by the people of
the state. This branch controls the state s articles of impeachment, budget, initiates
the tax legislations, and creates legislative laws to fix issues brought forth by the
governor and/or the people. All the states, with the exception of Nebraska have a
legislative branch comprised of a bicameral legislature with two chambers. These two
chambers are the smaller upper house (Senate) and the larger lower house (House of
Representatives), with the responsibilities of constructing state laws and fulfilling
other state responsibilities such as the state budget. (State Local Government) The
last branch is the judicial branch, which comprises the state court system that is
headed by the state Supreme Court and is structured under the state constitution.
Many criminal offenses are handled by the state courts, but if corrections are to be
made on the lower court systems, it is handled by the State Supreme Court. The rules
conducted by the State Supreme Court become the binding rule, but if questioned on
the consistency of the ruling, the trial may be brought up to the Federal Supreme
Court. (State Local Government) Though the Federal and State Government are
reflections of each other, when Federal laws are

Canadian provinces and territories demonstrate. Blake introduces this topic in the
fourth paragraph of the introduction. It is a clear thesis statement of the focus and

Charter of Rights and Freedoms, both of which are concerned with the democratic

Richard Katz analysis of three categories of qualifications for voting: community
membership, competence and autonomy in order to analyze provincial and federal
democratic fairness distributions pertaining to voting rights. Table 4.4 summarizes
the other provincial and national voting qualifications and disqualifications. Prior to
examining this table, Blake highlights a few key qualifications that the reader
knowns, such as to say that all jurisdictions have established 18 as the minimum age
for voting (Blake 126). This aids the reader to understand the table before the author
does a full analysis of what the data means contextually. The manner in which this
table is organized, by provinces, allows for Blake to clearly demonstrate democratic
fairness. Blake summarizes this subsection by categorizing the provinces and
territories into three groups, in terms of restrictions and exclusions on candidacy. The
least restrictive provinces on the right to vote are Alberta, BC, PEI, Quebec and
Saskatchewan. The most restrictive provinces are Nova Scotia, Ontario, and the
territories, where a leave of absence must be requested prior to nomination. Manitoba,

Introduction To Oedipus The King Analysis
In his essay, Introduction to Oedipus the King , Bernard Knox supports free will by
stating that Oedipus downfall was not caused by fate. According to Knox there is
not a doubt that, Oedipus is the free agent who, by his own self willed action,
discovers that his own predicted destiny has already been fulfilled (86). He clearly
states that Oedipusis responsible for his free actions during the play. He insists that
Oedipus s made the decisions to discover the truth about himself.
Bernard Knox believed that Oedipus Rex freely searched for his truth and not forced
by fate to act on upon it:
Oedipus did have one freedom: he was free to find out or not find out the truth. . .
One freedom has allowed him: the freedom to search for the truth, the truth about the
prophecies, about the gods, about himself. And of this freedom he makes full use.
Against the advice and appeals of others, he pushes on, searching for the truth, the
whole truth and nothing but the truth. . . This freedom to search, and the heroic way
in which Oedipus uses it, . .[is] a heroic example of a man s dedication to the search
for truth, the truth about himself. (89)
Bernard Knox believed that Oedipus had freedom but it ultimately leads to his
own ruin. Knox explains that was able to control if he wanted to find out the truth.
He adds that Oedipus has completely used his freedom to search for the truth about
his prophecies, the gods, and about himself. He said that Oedipus stubbornly
pushed on with the search for his truth against the caution and pled from others.
Knox concluded that Oedipus s ability to search for the truth made the play about a
man s dedication for the truth instead of a tragedy of destiny. Oedipus search for
truth was one of his actions that had no other purpose other than his need to know.
Oedipus was able to make his choices of wanting to learn the truth even though he
was warned not to. His perseverance to find the truths of which he was searching
for, that being his oracles or birth, were what ultimately lead him to his own
demise. Oedipus actions were freely decided and his search for the truth can be
seen as heroic . An example of Oedipus s firm decision to find the truth can be seen
when he chose to ignore
Comparing the Living Dead in James Joyce s The Dead
and...
Dubliners and The Living Dead
In his work The Dead, James Joyce utilizes his character Michael Furey, Gretta
Conroy s deceased love from her youth, as an apparent symbol of how the dead have
a steadfast and continuous power over the living. The dominant power which
Michael maintains over the protagonist, Gabriel Conroy, is that Gabriel is faced with
the intense question of whether his wife, Gretta Conroy, loves him and whether he
honestly loves her. Joyce provides substantial information to persuade one to believe
that Gabriel does truly love his wife. Even though it is made evident to the reader
that Gabriel possesses such devotion and adoration for Gretta, Michael diverts
Gabriel s confidence in his love, causing Gabriel ... Show more content on

Gabriel becomes distraught at the revelation of her statement. Joyce describes
Gabriel s anguished state, Generous tears filled Gabriel s eyes. He had never felt
like that himself towards any woman, but he knew that such a feeling must be love
(Joyce 182). Gabriel is perplexed as to why, if Gretta loves him so much, she still
possesses memories of her first love. He also wonders why this important detail of
Gretta s life was not brought to his attention at an earlier point. Gabriel s
recognition that he has been excluded from what he believes to be the deepest
experience of Gretta s life now becomes the deepest experience of his life. Gretta s
reaction to his questions about her first love causes Gabriel to become overwhelmed
by Michael Furey s control over him.
Gabriel by his ideas, his tastes, and his sensitivities has been isolated from others
but always found solace in his self esteem. Michael Furey has destroyed this. The
tears gathered more thickly in his eyes and in the particular darkness he imagined
he saw a young man standing under a dripping tree (Joyce 182). Though Michael
is certainly dead in body, he lives on in the memories of both Gretta and Gabriel,
and his influence can in no way be obliterated. Joyce depicts the power Michael has
over Gabriel, A vague terror seized Gabriel... as if... some impalpable and vindictive
being was coming against him, gathering forces in its vague world (Joyce
Of Sympathy In The IliadAndPride, AndPride
Those we love don t go away, thy walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but
always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. Death leaves a heartache no one
can heal, love leaves a memory, no one can steal ~Unknown
In the Iliad, by Homer, The Dog Who That Bit People , by James Thurber and Pride ,
by Dahlia Ravikovitch, the idea of sympathy is conveyed through characterization.
To our first piece, the Iliad, by Homer. Sympathy is showed in King Priam and the
narrator with how loss effects our character, before and after the loss of loves ones.
On page 152, King Priam said, Hector my son, if you die, what cares I if Troy be
victorious? If you live, what matters it if we be conquered by the Greek? Hear me,
Hector! I speak as your father. King Priam fears to lose what little family he has
left. Sympathy is shown through King Priam trying to be a better father, and not
losing Hector as he did with his daughters and other sons. The heartbreak is there
and you can feel it. His heart cannot afford any more loss and sorrow. Another
place that shows sympathy through characterization is on page 153. The narrator
reads: ...when the news reached the King Priam, Hector s father, the old man s
heart nearly breaks . As I have stated earlier, King Priam was scared to lose what
little family he had left, now the author tells of the pain Priam feels for losing his
son, it helps pull sympathy from the reader. When you have lost so much

How Can I Make Money From Home With Affiliate Marketing It really is Quick and
Basic
In the event you break it down, affiliate marketing indicates absolutely nothing more
than selling somebody else s product, service or business opportunity for profit.
Your job would be to basically promote the product and make a sale. This can be
normally completed by means of setting up a website or perhaps a blog and posting
different reviews, tutorials, videos along with other content that delivers value to
those probably to become customers considering and understanding much more
regarding the products you re providing.
Among the list of the fastest, easiest techniques to acquire would be to go setup a

First used as a drug to help the clinically depressed look into themselves and how to

many ways. MDMA affects memory, social interaction, the nervous systemand it has
lasting effects on rats. According to Dzietko (2010), a small dose of MDMA in a rat
during a time where the rats brain is developing goes through major changes in
different parts of the brain. The amphetaminelike substance, MDMA, has neurotoxic
effects that lead to damage in the nervous system including serotonergic fibers,
dopamine levels, and neurons. MDMA specifically has a direct effect on serotonin
levels where it unleashes large amounts of it into the brain where there is not
normally that amount present. The negative emotions and feelings that should be

brain it leads to nerve endings and synpatic vesicles clouded with serotonin which

autonomy over their respective countries. They were the head of government in all
respects, and all decisions were eventually made by them. However, along with this
autonomy came responsibility in the form of the people. If the decisions of these
rulers did not improve the country, the possibility existed that their power would be
either curbed or taken away by the people. As ruler of Englandin the early 17th
century, Charles Stuart believed strongly in absolute power and a king s divine
right to rule. He believed that a king was given his power by God and therefore had
no reason to answer to the people. The Parliament in England at the time... Show

The first of these conflicts occurred right after Charles ascendance to the throne
between England and Spain and was in large part the result of a failed marriage
treaty between Catholic Spain and Protestant England that would have married
Charles to the Spanish Infanta.4 Charles had been tricked into a treaty that would
have given Catholics increased rights in Protestant England, a provision that
would have assuredly angered the people of England.5 In addition, the first
Parliament of Charles reign passed two measures that doomed this conflict. First,
it only granted Charles the right to collect customs duties for one year, instead of
for life.6 Secondly, Parliament gave Charles only about a fourth of the money that
he needed to adequately fund the war. However, Charles and Buckingham believed
that if the army could loot a port and intercept the goods coming from the Spanish
colonies in America, the treasury could be stocked up again. So despite the lack of
funding, Charles chose to raise an army to set out for the Spanish port of Cadiz.7
However, the army was inadequately supplied with capable soldiers, ships, and
provisions. Most of the soldiers in this army were rogues
Examples Of Analogy In Teaching
1.0 Introduction
Definition: An analogy is a comparison between one thing and another, usually for
the purpose of explanation or interpretation. It is similar to metaphor and simile; they
are usually used in conversation to relate one situation to other.
According to (Heick, 2014) other than conversational analogy there are analogies,
which are formal analogies, used in teaching. They usually are called academic
analogies. These analogies are the research based tool for teaching in science class
rooms. It can also be used in text books and web based learning environment. Analogy
can be used to explain concepts effectively to the students, which makes sense of the
concepts to the students. This also helps them to understand easily than normal
explanation. Especially, the students from primary and lower primary are getting to
know of the science concept for the first time. Analogies make the subject interesting
to the students from the age group of 5 to 12. In Maldives, National Institute of
Education has implemented key stage 1 and 2 for the classes from grade 1 to 5 fully,
with the help of analogy teachers can easily make the students to make their ... Show

The aware idea is called the analog and the unaware one the target. The analog and
the target have attributes; if the analog and the target have similar features then an
analogy may be made between them. An orderly comparison, orally or visually,
between the features of the analog and target is called a mapping. A theoretical
illustration of an analogy, with its essential parts, appears in Figure 1. Figure 1

Meditation within the Mind
Increasingly more these days we have seen countless suggestions to practice the
common art and science associated with meditation. The majority of, if not all,
celebrate its apparently magical turn on the human mind through its purported
advantages. These suggestions and statements have been the test associated with
time they are globally accepted as well as well warranted. For ages past people who
came prior to us possess spoken quantities regarding this excellent gift all of us
posses however nowadays sometimes, all of us neglect to make use of. Why right
now are we once again reminded of the?
All of us may take place either conscious or not aware. In a massive shift getting at
times, tumultuous alterations in all areas in our society as well as world buildings.
No one is exempt in the effects these types of rapid modifications bring. Whilst
universally skilled, these trans formative powers are separately unique as well as
processed in a different way depending on an individual s outlook. After some
discipline and exercise we can utilize this present of deep breathing to help stability
stress levels, decrease mind movies which appear to play without layovers to bring
growing levels of pleasure, clarity as well as purpose in to life.
These days, our traditional western civilization with all of our advanced
understanding has re affirmed the traditional knowledge as well as
Pros And Cons Of Dual Citizen
I.Many people may not know that there are different types of United States citizens.
A person is either a natural born citizen or a naturalized citizen. Natural born citizens
were born here and given citizenship right away. Naturalized citizens are immigrants
that followed the steps to citizenship. Naturalization, the process to become a United
Statescitizen is a lengthy procedure that includes much paperwork and many legal
affairs.
II.There are certain items that are required to enter the country.

America does not allow or disallow dual citizenship.
2.It simply does not recognize the other country as your home.
3.Many dual citizens say it is a blessing to be a citizen in multiple countries.
4.They say they love being a part of multiple cultures.
C.The conflict between the dual citizens and the military are as follows.
1.There is controversy about of a dual citizen can serve in the armed forces.
2.This is again due to security requirements.
3.One argument is that a dual citizen could be communicating with the other country
they call home.
4.The other argument is that the dual citizen would not have become a citizen just to
spy on the military.
VI.Illegal immigrants in the United States are turning into a massive problem. Illegal
immigrants looking for work in the United States sometimes buy fake identities in
hope of not getting caught. In 2008, 313,982 identities were stolen in the United
States. Fifteen percent were used to get documents or benefits from the government.
While another fifteen percent were used to get employment, per the FTC.

Criminal Law Does Not Punish People For Commit A Crime
CRIMINAL ATTEMPT:::: Introduction: Criminal law does not punish people for
aiming to commit a crime, but it identifies that conduct intended at committing a
crime may be just as to blame if it fails to reach its aims as if it had been successful.
Hence, the offence of attempt existed at common law but it is now regulated by
statute, the Criminal Attempts Act 1981. ACTUS REUS OF ATTEMPT The 1981
Act imposes liability on those who do an act which is more than merely
preparatory to the commission of the offence. Although the jury must decide
whether there is evidence on which a jury could find that there has been such an
act, the test of whether the defendant s acts have gone beyond the merely
preparatory stage is essentially a question of fact for the jury S.4(3) of the 1981 Act.
Furthermore, an offender may be guilty of attempting to commit a particular offence
where he does not complete the full offence, but has taken sufficient steps for his
conduct to be classed as criminal by law. An attempt is a statutory offence and is
charged under S.1 (1) of the Criminal Attempts Act 1981. Which stated that a
defendant is guilty of attempting to commit an offence if the defendant take steps
which are more than merely preparatory towards the commission of that offence .
S.1 (4) of the Act also stated that, a defendant may only be convicted under the Act
of an Attempt of an indictable offence (i.e, an indictable only offence or an offence
or an offence triable either way). A
How Did Walt Disney Influence The World
On December 5th, 1901 a legend is born, Walter Elias Disney became an icon in the
cartoon and children movie business. From the theme park in Orlando to the cartoons
on televisions across the nation, Walt Disney has engraved his name in history and in
many of our hearts as one of the most influential people in modern art.
Walt Disney was the fourth born to a poor family in Chicago Illinois. A few years
after he Walter was born the family moved to Marceline Missouri a town of about
two thousand people. While living in Marceline Walter started to develope his
love for drawing by copying the front page of his local newspaper as well as
making his own drawings and selling them to a retired doctor. In the year of 1918
Walt Disney tried to enlist in the armed forces but he was rejected to serve in a
combat position due to him only being sixteen at the time. Instead he went to France
and drove an ambulance for the Red Cross. During his time with the Red Cross he
grew in his artistic abilities by covering the ambulance with cartoons from the front to
the back. This was the start to what would become some of the greatest cartoons in
American history (WALT).
After coming home from France Walt walter became intrigued... Show more content

his wife gave the California Institute of the arts a donation to refurbish a old

elementary school dedicated in his name as well as many public buildings in his
hometown of Marceline. Walt also had a profound impact on modern cartoons and

Walt had dyslexia and proved to many people that just because something may be

Poverty In Poverty
Being a third world country means to be more underdeveloped than most upcoming
countries there is today. Third world countries want and deserve more than they get,
dealing with poverty, gender inequality, racial inequality, educational problems,
hunger, and war. But for this paper, the focus is on poverty in Madagascar. While
being in the top 10 ranks of poorest countries as number 9, povertyis the outcome for
most of the problems that occur in Madagascar. So, with poverty being a
catastrophic social problem, it is in fact severe. Poverty rises to 85% in rural areas,
that affecting the homes to 80% of the high population of over 22 million.
According to B. Essama Nssah, writer of Impact of Growth and Distribution on
Poverty in Madagascar , he argues that the rural areas is the most prevalent area for
impoverished situations. Since, the lack of economic growth does not seem to
overcome its bearings, the hardship will continue its deficits. Its magnitude to
succeed for a better future will be the ultimate goal.
In Madagascar, the poverty line is increasing rampantly. Since January 2009, the
country has been in political crisis after the change in government. It seems to be
that poverty is continuously growing where it should not, for reason that could be
prevented. As talked about previously, rural areas are experiencing a soaring in
scarcity** due to seasonal changes. In Malagasy culture, rice is a dominate source of
food; it spikes seasonal movements in use and
Leadership Styles Of Remember The Titans
Remember the Titans.
There are distinct management and leadership styles portrayed in this movie. Using
information learned in this course, provide examples of effective and ineffective
management techniques you observed in the movie.
I observed five different leadership styles in this movie, and I felt that each of them
were effective because of the timing of the leadership style used based on the situation
at hand. Authoritative leadership skills were used at the beginning of the movie when
the coaches, players and the rest of the staff met for the first time. Being the new
coach, Boone needed to get everyone to follow his vision for the team since the
school was just recently racially integrated. The racial integration put great ... Show

Lastly, democratic leadership styles were portrayed by both not only by both
coaches, but also between the players. When the coaches and some of the players
bought into and believed in what Coach Boone was trying to accomplish, they
were able to instill a sense of ownership in the other team members, coaches and the
town as well. In the end all but one player had become a true part of the team and
what that team stood for. The offensive team captain felt empowered enough to
point out and ask that this player be cut from the team; I believe that he did the
right thing and acted as a leader in this situation. He knew that this player was a
weak link in the team and the team couldn t afford to have even one weak link if it
was going to be successful.
Do you believe Coach Boone was an effective change agent? What about Coach
Yoast? Why or why not?
I feel that both coaches played a vital role in effective change. Even though both
coaches had reservations about working together, they were willing to put aside their
own prejudices for the sake of the team. Had they not been able to do that, the team
would have seen their leaders working against each other instead of working together;
that type of scenario would have hindered any chance for effective changes.
I personally feel that Coach Boone had some rather unique change styles that he used,
but they

Examples Of Perception
What is perception?
It is the process of recognizing and interpreting sensory stimuli.
Perception is how you can see the world around you, how you experience the world
around. There are two things that are included in perception. The first is the
environment that you are in and how that stimulates the senses of recognition. The
second is how you respond to the environment and what action is taken in and how
you respond to the information you are taking in.
Perception includes five senses:
1.Touch.
2.Sight.
3.Taste.
4.Smell.
5.Sound.

/Applications widely available over the last 5 10 years. The understanding that the
brain could be enhanced and trained to be better, think faster and learn quicker. The
speed of your reactions to different actions and circumstances play a large part in
your everyday life. Fast reaction times can produce big rewards, for example, you re
a goalkeeper in a soccer match and you end up saving a blistering soccer ball from
entering the goal. In this instant slow reaction times may come with consequences.
When the goalkeeper realizes the ball is blistering towards them, there is visual
information that has to be processed and decisions regarding a correct course of
action. The brain then needs to send many signals to various muscles. Feet begin to
move, body stands taller, hands might travel in front of the face, and eyes may close
shut suddenly, along with many more processes. This is the work of many neurons as
well as numerous systems and circuits in the brain, and what s more, and you can
train and enhance your skill through practice.

How Soft Computing Methodology Used For Developing A

4. Methodology Used Soft computing methodology can be used for developing a
model that can predict autonomic computing based software systems maintainability
according to the opinions of experts of this domain. Soft computing is different
from conventional hard computing as in hard computing we require full truth but in
soft computing we can solve a problem with vague values and with partial truth
[11]. Soft computing techniques are more suitable for real world problems and
require very less computational time .Soft computing technologies includes neural
networks, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms etc. Xinghuo and Kaynak [10] explain
briefly about soft computing and its technologies. Fuzzy logic works similar to
biological systems as it mimics the human body for problem solving [9] so it can be
used to generate a model for predicting maintainability of autonomic software system
after the system is developed. 5. Technology Used This model will work by taking
inputs as the characteristics of autonomic computing that affect maintainability of
these systems as input .These inputs are vague values so it would be better to use
Fuzzy logic using MATLAB. Using Mamdani FIS (Fuzzy Inference system) in
MATLAB a model can be developed. 6. Testing parameters On the basis of inputs
given to the model testing can be done. Inputs of this model would be the
characteristics of autonomous system which affect the maintainability of the system.

Aromatherapy Diffusers

aromatherapy scents around a room. Some diffusers allow filling and refilling of
non liquid aromatherapy scents, and some are pre filled with cotton absorb

Diffusion can also be done using tissue paper, steam and candles. Steam diffusion
is probably the best and the easiest way of diffusing a fragrance into a room. As
steam heats the oil added to water, the oil evaporates and leaves a trail of fragrance

Since graduating with my Bachelor of Science degree in child development in

toward upper middle class families, and the other two were designed to aid low

all very similar. I witnessed large caregiver to child ratios and worked with many
caregivers who had minimal education in child development or early childhood

daycare center situations. Recently, I logged onto the Texas Department of Family

Analysis Of The Poem The Darkness Within Men By Steve...
12 Years a Slave positions utter beauty between and within scenes of violence and
abjection to inspire poignant reflection; frequent tranquil landscapes emphasize
gruesome acts and remind us of man s capability for despicable amorality. Though
we often like to sequester slavery to a time and a place no longer existent, it was not
19th century Louisiana that committed these heinous acts but rather the privileged
white men who occupied the territory. Louisiana landscapes are and always will be
beautiful; it is man that muddies our retrospective visions. Yet, Steve McQueenallows
us to breathe for the beauty itself often provides relief from horrific previous scenes;
he simply does not create empty breaks. We both reflect on the darkness within men
and wonder exactly how this beauty affects and/or represents the various characters.
The jarring juxtaposition of beauty and abjection inspires psychological introspection
for we are never awarded with beauty from subjective points of view (it is presented
from anonymous angles). The cotton picking scenes and the scene in which Solomon
rows down the river illustrate the jarring effects beauty and abjection create when
presented simultaneously. Both enforce a separation between man and nature and
emphasize the heinous through means of polar comparison, yet also tie visual beauty
to the retention of hope. Beginning with the cotton picking sequences, Steven
McQueen frequently uses a wide far shot and captures the blinding white
Mexico Poverty
According to a 2015 study by The Organization for Economic Corporation and
Development, Mexico has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the
world which inevitably leads to a sharp contrast among living conditions, agency,
and power between the rich and the poor. Mexican society has been stratified since
the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican revolution were to disperse
wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting
thus serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could
only find shelter in the slums
(https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the poverty and social
stratification in mexico/). After watching the documentary about the One Child
Policy in China, a common theme appears to be that the poorest and most
marginalized seem to be those living in rural societies. This is most likely because
generally speaking, the poor are the least educated simply because they cannot afford
it thus resulting in having to hold laborious jobs such as those in agriculture.
The distribution of wealth in Mexico is perhaps the leading cause for the social
inequality so prominent in the country. For the past 25 years the gap between the rich
and poor has been steadily increasing. According to the WEA the top 1% of Mexico s
distribution has an average annual income 47 times that of the poorest 1% (https:/

The Four Layers Of The Respiratory System
The respiratory system is made up of two different parts, the upper respiratory tract
which includes the nose, mouth and the beginning on the trachea. This is the part that
is in charge of taking in the air and letting it back out again, and then the lower
respiratory tract which is made up of the trachea and the lungs.
There are four different layers that make up the trachea, these include the mucosa
which is the in most layer. This consists of ciliated pseudostratified columnar
epithelium tissue which contains goblet cells that secrete a tacky mucus that lines the
walls of the inner trachea so that it catches any debris breathed in via the air before it
hits the lungs.
Ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelial cells are a rectangular

United States Navy was the ivy league of the military branches and sticking with
his families urge to maintain public image, he did not want to enlist in the Army.
From a young age, Kennedy showed strong leadership skills; he led by example.
As a training officer, on one of the PT boats he commanded, they became stuck on

Kennedy demonstrated that he was no better than any of his men and no task was
beneath him to complete personally. This is the sign of a true leader. Leaders have
an inner desire to better themselves; he was not content with just being a training
officer. He soon applied for combat duty
Human Pollution
The world is dying. The world is being overrun with human pollution. The most
polluted parts are the parts nobody notices until they see trash floating upon waves
and washing onto shores. The animals get tangled up and cannot escape from human
filth. There is no escape for them. This is why people need to help prevent trash from
getting into the oceans. Even if helping prevent trash from entering the ocean cost
more money than allowing it to enter the water system, it will prevent ecosystems,
environments and their climates from perishing.
One reason why people should not throw trash in the ocean is that it harms
ecosystems. Ecosystems in the world are already in trouble from humans, but when
people throw trash in the ocean it affects the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another reason people should help get rid of the trash around and in the ocean is
because it can annihilate environments and climates. The Author states that the ocean
is the main buffer against climate change, In fact, about 25 percent of the greenhouse
gases that we emit actually gets absorbed by the oceans, as does over 90 per cent of
the extra heat produced by human induced climate change, the UN Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO) reports (Baher). This shows that trash in the oceans
are not only affecting wildlife but affecting the world also. Moreover, the trash is also
affecting the environment. According to Yakupitiyage, Because of ocean currents,
this trash accumulates in what is known as ocean garbage patches, located in virtually
every ocean in the world....This has contributed to the massive piles of trash that have
washed upon the shores of the isolated and once pristine Henderson Island in the
South Pacific. A recent study found that the UNESCO world heritage siteis covered
with over 38 million pieces of trash, making it the most densely polluted place in the
world. As Yakupitiyage says, due to all of the trash, the oceans are making garbage
patches that wash up on shores, which causes environmental damage. Consequently,
trash in the oceans can cause catastrophic damage to the climate and the environment.
One problem of helping contain the trash, is the cost of using materials that
decompose quicker. One example
The Holocaust After World War II
Have you ever wondered or thought about what happened to the Nazis that helped
with different parts of the Holocaust after World War II ended? Well, I thought about
it and I did some research about the famous trials that happened between the years
1945 through 1949. These trials were made up after a man by the name of Adolf Hitler
wanted world domination and he treated the jews horribly. This event solved a lot of
problems from establishing an International Court and knowing what to do with the
men that helped Hitler with the Holocaust. The charges were among many things but
mostly crimes against hummanity was the most used charge. There was also a lot of
controversy about the laws that were made in the court and before the trials even...

This trial also brought in interpreters, because all of the judges and people that were
tried spoke at least 4 different languages, and they needed somebody that understood
the languages and could translate it back quickly and effictiently.
At the end of this trial, The International tribunal found all but 3 guilty. 12 men were
sentenced to death, one in absentia, and the rest were put in prison. The prison
sentences went from at least 10 years to life behind bars. 10 of the condemned were
excuted by hanging on October 16, 1946. One of Hitler s right hand man and the
commander of the Luftwaffe commited suicide with a Cyannide pill the night before
his execution.
The Major War Criminals Trials ended in the year of 1946, then the Allies started a
new trial that had the lesser people on trial. These people ranged from doctors, store
owners, and lawyers. This set of trials were called the subsequent trials. There were a
total of 12 trials grouped together to form the subsequent trials. The first trial was the

What Is Deja Vu Essay
DГ©jГ vu ..... could it be ?
This story takes place while I was driving home one evening.
Like usual, I was letting my mind wander past the cars beside me, and had begun
falling into a daydream state. I was pondering work, (which is not a thing to give
ponder after leaving, I dare say), when a peculiar thing happened.
Well, I can not say that it was a thing, but rather, a moment of time that revealed a
strange state of being.
Now, many people have had moments of deja vu. There are many explanations and
theories behind the events that unfold in our concious/subconcious minds during
these times of similar experience.
In my case, though, it was bordering on uncomfortably eerie, and amazingly
excitable, all at the same time.
While driving down the freeway, I had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There, on the right hand side of the road, were three cop cars, and in the center of
them....a man standing next to a green motorcycle.
To say I was freaked out by now would be an understatement. It was as if I had
spoken the event into existence.
Was this deja vu, or prophecy? I was perplexed, yet, quietly amazed with myself. I
tried to set up several other scenarios as I travelled along, but alas, I eventually pulled
into my driveway with no further events.
I slowly came to a stop beside my mailbox. I stared toward my home, up that long,
dusty, gravel road. The sun was now dipping slowly behind the hill that my home
sits on. The shadows were dancing in front of my house like young children just
released from school. I let my mind ponder the last half hour of time, then reached
over to open the mailbox.
There, lying almost deathly still on the very top, was a random coupon. The coupon
read something like this, Come and get it while the iron is hot...there is no moment
like the present. The next time you experience a sale like this, you will just be
experiencing deja vu....so hurry
Book Report On Kenan s List
Kenan Trebničević was living in Bosnia during the time of the ethnic cleansing
that happened. In his book, The Bosnia List, Kenan tells about his experience with
the war that him and his family had to live through. Kenan had very skeptical
views about how his homeland turned out to be after the war, but once he traveled
back to Bosnia with his family his perspective was greatly changed. Kenan was
about thirty years old when he decided he was going to make a list of all of the
things that he wanted to do when he got back to Bosnia. After traveling back, he
soon realized that things were much different than he anticipated, and he decided to
make a new list. When Kenan made his original list it had a lot of hate in it. The first
item on his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, when he started to make his new list he thought it was difficult to think of the
good among the evil (Trebinčević 296). When he sat down and really thought
about it, there were just enough people there to help him and his family stay alive
and to escape the horrible life they were living (Trebinčević 296). The first item
on Kenan s new list was, Thank God for Obren, who warned Dad and Mujo away
from the Partizan Sports Hall (Trebničević 297). The Partizan Sports Hall was a
popular place that Kenan and his family occupied a lot. This is the place that
Kenan was able to learn karate as a child from his coach Pero. But, it was also a
place where innocent people were being taken during the ethnic cleansing that
happened in Bosnia. It was very important that Obren was there to warn Kenan s
father and his friend to steer clear of this place now, otherwise they probably would
have been killed right
Caribbean Piracy
Piracy of the Caribbean It seems to be common knowledge that murder, thievery,
and full blown naval warfare supposedly plagued the Caribbean Sea from the 1600
s to the 1800 s. Countless tons of priceless goods such as spices, gems, rare metals,
and silks were snatched right from under merchant noses (Hanna 42). Goods that
were the basis of Triangle Trade economies, goods such as sugar, tobacco, weapons,
cotton, and sadly the lives of enslaved humans (which were considered commodities
and goods), were being spirited away at the great misfortune of the commercial based
nations (Lane). National tensions were climbing higher and higher. Allegedly this
could all be blamed upon piracy, buccaneering, and privateering being at an all time
high; this earned the time period the monomer of The Golden Age of Piracy
(Benjamin). And yet, despite all the terror and disorder previously descried, these
pirates generally had a considerably better effect (maybe even a net good effect) on
the general state of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To effectively analyze the effects of piracy we must look at three important aspects
which are, most to least important, how pirates changed the status quo of the

Let Me Start By Telling A Interview Essay
Let me start by telling a short story about someone I know. She spent weeks
applying to jobs, and one afternoon, she got a call from her number one choice
asking for an interview. While at the interview, she was asked several questions about
her prior education and qualifications. The boss was very impressed with what he
had heard, and he told her that her interviewwas the best one he has had in years. At
the conclusion of the interview, the boss stood to shake her hand; however, when
she stood to return the shake, her crop top that she wore under her blazer was
revealed. She never got a call back saying she got the job.
The way one dresses for an interview, whether the interview be for a job, internship,
or scholarship, can determine whether or not he gets the position or whatever for
which he has applied. Some people think that, in order to look professional, a lot of
money has to be spent on clothes and shoes. However, a report from the Institute for
College Access and Success shows that students who earned a bachelor s degree in
2012 accumulated an average debt of $29,000, which is an estimated increase of six
percent per year from 2008 to 2012 (Study 2014).
With students consistently having to spend more money on education, most students
cannot afford to go out and buy new business professional or casual clothing;
however, this is not a bad thing. Amber Aziza, a career jump starter, says that it is
best to wear an outfit that is reflective of your own
Creating A Form Of Art Essay
A 2013 survey found that eight out of ten Americans are overly stressed about their
jobs or schooling. Three out of five Americans cope with their stress in unhealthy
ways such as overeating, drinking, smoking, or ignoring their stress altogether
(Corinthian). Creating a form of art is is one of the most effective methods to
relieve stress. The concept of using art as a form of managing stress has been
around throughout all of history. However, art therapy was not a distinct
profession until the 1940 s. Creating art is not only effective in managing stress,
but also helps us safely identify, alleviate, and communicate our pent up emotions.
Art allows you to take a moment to yourself and forget about your day to day
problems. We tend to learn more about ourselves while creating art, gaining greater
self knowledge can help us identify why and when we are stressed giving us the
capacity to remove stressors or find ways of supporting ourselves when in stressful
situations (Willieme). Every form of art encourages creative thinking and problem
solving skills, allowing you to come up with your own solutions since there are no
right or wrong answers in art. The benefits of art aren t limited to emotions, there
are physical benefits to creating art as well. The average person has 60,000 thoughts
per day and 95% of them are exactly the same (Alban). Creating art allows you to
focus on a single activity and clear your everyday thoughts due to the rhythmic and

The Effects of Blues Music on Civil Rights
Blues Music| Influences on Civil Rights in the United States| Addy Phillips|
Eddie James Son House, Jr., an American blues singer and guitarist once stated,
People keep asking me where the blues started and all I can say is that when I was
a boy we always was singing in the fields. Not real singing, you know, just hollerin ,
but we made up our songs about things that was happening to us at the time, and I
think that s where the blues started (Cohn, 1993). House, living through the
development of the blues and the Civil Rights Movement, had a definite grasp on the
subject at hand. Having changed his lifestyle from the church to blues, he faced many
hardships including a deadbeat father, alcoholism, affairs, and prison ... Show more

No black person can escape the blues, because the blues are an inherent part of the
black existence in America. To be black is to be blue. The blues tell us about black
people s attempt to carve out a significant existence in a very trying situation. The
purpose of the blues is to give structure to black existence in a context where color
means rejection and humiliation. Suffering and its relation to blackness is
inseparable from the meaning of the blues. Without pain and suffering, and what
that meant for black people in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas, there would
have been no blues. The blue mood means sorrow, frustration, despair, and black
people s attempt to take these existential realities upon themselves and not lose
their sanity. The blues are not art for art s sake, music for music s sake. They are a
way of life, a life style of the black community; and the will for survival. Thus to seek
to understand the blues apart from the suffering that created them is to misinterpret
them and distort the very creativity that defines them (Cone, 1980). Though the blues
were developed in the rural southern United States, toward the end of the 19th
century, and found a wider audience in the 1940s as blacks migrated to urban areas.
Jazz music has dozens of variations and also utilizes elements from other genres.

Caroline B Glick The Israeli Solution

East. New York, USA: Random House, 2014.
In the 2014 book, The Israeli Solution: A One State Plan for Peace in the Middle
East, Caroline B. Glick, an American Israeli journalist and author, examines Israeli
administration of the contested territories known as Judea and Samaria also know as
the West Banksince the 1967 Arab Israeli war. Glick s work criticises the current
state of Israeli policy regarding the administration of the territory, posits a policy
recommendation, and discusses challenges in implementing such a method. By
appealing to human rights, and Jewish legal and historical rights, Glick suggests that

The first premise essentially accuses the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics
(PCBS) to have grossly inflated the number of Arabs living in Judea and Samaria.
The strategic inflation of population is comparable to the PA Ministry of Health
that had strategically inflated causality rates in the past (see Operation Protective
Shield in 2002). The objective her would be to gain political capital, as well as to
demonstrate to Israeli policy makers that the annexation of Judea and Samaria
would destroy the sensitive Jewish majority of the State of Israel. According to the
research conducted by the American Israeli group, the PCBS had inflated the Arab
population of Judea and Samaria to 2.42 million. In contrast, the AIDRG concluded
that only 1.41 million Arabs lived in Judea and Samaria. Here, Glick argues that the
fact that 1.01 million fewer Arabs lived in Judea and Samaria means that Israeli
annexation would not mean the end of the demographic integrity of the Jewish State.
If the 1.41 million all became Israeli citizens, Israel s Jewish population would still

The Poetry of Walt Whitman Essay
Walt Whitman is considered by many to be one of the greatest poets of the
nineteenth century. Whitman grew up in New York and was a member of a large
family, having eight siblings. Only four of these siblings lived to adulthood. His
father was an alcoholic, which led to Whitman becoming more like a father figure
than a brother to his siblings. Whitman quit school at the age of eleven. He then
worked as a journalist, as a carpenter, as a teacher, and as an editor before focusing
on poetry. Whitman is most well known for his book of poems, Leaves of Grass.
Whitman could not find a publisher interested in his poems; therefore, he published
them himself. Whitman rereleased this collection of poems several times, each time

Whitman deplored slavery and was even fired from his job as an editor for his
outspoken views on the subject. Whitman saw Lincoln as someone who wanted to
put an end to slavery and as someone who would put his words into action.
Whitman took a great interest in The Civil War. His brother served in the war and
Whitman volunteered as a nurse at an army hospital in Washington, D.C., where he
dressed the wounds of injured soldiers, as well as read to them, and wrote letters
for them to their families. Whitman gave lectures on President Lincoln almost up
until his own death. Whitman was greatly disturbed by the assassination of
President Lincoln and wrote these poems as a tribute to him. The most popular and
the most analyzed of these poems is When Lilacs Last in the DoorYard Bloom d.
Laurie Lanzen writes, this is a poem whose rich and sacred beauty and rapture of
tender religious passion leave it unique and solitary in literature, and will make it the
chosen and immortal hymn of death forever (Lanzen, 544 ). Even though Whitman
never mentions President Lincoln by name in the poem, according to
whitmanarchive.org, this poem was published in the fourth edition of Leaves of
Grass in 1867 under the heading President Lincoln s Burial Hymn
(whitmanarchive.org). This has come to be considered as one of the best poems ever
written by Whitman. When Lilacs Last in the
Essay On Girish Karnad
Godugunuri Prasad
The Man and The Writer
Girish Karnad is one of the foremost playwrights of the contemporary Indian stage.
He has given the Indian theatre a richness that could probably be equated only with
his talents as an actor director. His contribution goes beyond theatre: he has directed
feature films, documentaries and television serials in Kannada, Hindi, and English
and has played leading roles as an actor in Hindi and Kannada art films, commercial
movies and television serials. He has represented Indian in foreign lands as an
emissary of art and culture.

Theatre in Contemporary Indian Tradition, ed. Carla Borden (Washington;
Smithsonian Press, 1988) and Theatre in India, in Daedalus, Vo1.118, No.4, pp.331

playwright that he is at his best. He confesses, I have been fairly lucky in having a
multi pronged career. You know, I have been an actor, a publisher, and a film
maker. But in none of these fields have I felt quite as much at home as in
playwriting. In India, unfortunately, the writers cannot live on their writing alone; it
does not yield enough royalties for sustenance. Karnad says, One can t earn a
comfortable living even from a successful play. Take Tughlaq,. As we know, it s been
enormously successful В¬critically as well as in performance. Playwrights in the
west have been able to retire on such successes or at least, to devote themselves to that
activity entirely. I can t. Today Girish Karnad considered one of the most significant
Indian dramatists. He has enriched the Indian literary scene by his contribution to art,
culture, theatre and drama. It is most befitting that Karnad has been conferred by the
President of India, the prestigious awards, Padmasri in 1974 and Padmabhushan in
1992. Also, he received the Gubbi Veeranna Award from the Government of
Karnataka in 1997. Karnad is based in Bangalore and lives with his wife, a medico

Chinua Achebe demonstrates the Obi s cutting edge excitement by stating: We

individuals in the educating field. Of his two objectives for the school, one was to
make the grounds a position of magnificence. An up and coming review was the
ideal inspiration to start what he thought to be incredible upgrades. In time the

How To Write Paragraphs In An Essay. Excellent 5 Paragraph Essay Example College Thatsnotus

  • 1. How To Write Paragraphs In An Essay Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write Paragraphs In An Essay" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of effective paragraph construction reveals a complexity that can be quite challenging. The difficulty arises from the need to balance creativity, coherence, and clarity while adhering to established writing conventions. Firstly, one must grapple with the task of breaking down ideas into distinct paragraphs. This requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to organize thoughts logically. Each paragraph should have a clear focus, a central idea, and a smooth transition to the next. Achieving this cohesion demands a mastery of the art of transitioning between paragraphs seamlessly. Furthermore, the challenge lies in maintaining a balance between conciseness and elaboration. Striking the right chord between providing enough detail to support one's argument and avoiding unnecessary verbosity can be a delicate endeavor. It requires a keen sense of the essay's overall structure and the purpose of each paragraph within that framework. Another obstacle emerges when considering the need for variation in paragraph structure. Readers can quickly lose interest if every paragraph follows the same monotonous pattern. Achieving a dynamic flow involves incorporating diverse sentence structures, employing effective transitions, and strategically placing key information. Additionally, writers must be attuned to the nuances of language and style. Choosing the right words, employing proper grammar, and ensuring coherence throughout the essay contribute significantly to its overall quality. This level of attention to detail requires a thorough understanding of the mechanics of writing. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the intricacies of writing paragraphs in an essay demands more than just a surface-level understanding of the topic. It requires a nuanced approach that considers both the micro and macro aspects of composition. The difficulty lies not only in conveying information but in doing so in a manner that engages and captivates the reader. It's a task that necessitates a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and a solid grasp of writing conventions. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing challenges, resources like HelpWriting.net offer valuable support. • 2. Thank You Ma Am Theme In the short story, Thank You Ma am, by Longston Hughs a powerful message is communicated. The story begins on an empty street in New York City where Roger attempts to steal Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jone s purse. Roger has to decide between running away or going with her. At her home she lets him wash his face, eat dinner and she gives him $10s to buy blue suede shoes. All this generosity leaves Roger speechless at the end of the story. He could barely say Thank you ma am . And then Roger never saw her again. Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones has every reason to reprisal against Roger, but doesn t. As readers we are left with the question, why does Mr. Luella Bates Washington Jones take Roger home? I believe that Mrs. Luella took roger home to teach him how to be selfless not selfish. An important lesson we seem to assume Roger lacks. My first evidence for this claim is the quote, Well you didn t have to snatch my pocket book to get some suede shoes, said Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. You could have asked me. (page 5, lines 96 98) Which proves that the reason why Mrs. Luella takes Roger home is because she wants to teach him how to be selfless not selfish. There are several keywords that prove my claim such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Luella Bates Washington Jones had done it was time for Roger to leave. And Roger s last words to her were Thank you ma am (page 7 lines 67) This shows how he was being selfless not selfish, The whole quote is key to the phrase. But the words that help support my claim is thank you . This shows his appreciation for what Mrs. Luella had done for him. Earlier before that he feels overwhelmed by the kindness and compassion in Mrs. Luella Bate Washington Jones s heart. After all the trouble he had put her through she still tried his best to help him. Which helped him to understand that even when you are faced with people who are giving you grief you need to still be kind to
  • 3. Patricia Williams To Read or Not to Read...That is the Question. In college, there are two main classifications of books: those read because they are required reading and those read because they are desired reading. Sometime however, a book can be read to both fulfill a class requirement, and be enjoyed on its own merit: The Alchemy of Race and Rights: Diary of a Law Professor, by Patricia J Williams, is one such book. It is obvious what makes a book required reading, but what is it that makes a book desired, enjoyable, even fulfilling reading? In a polling of several university students, the most common responses to this question were: the book must be well written ; a book in which the reader can personally relate to the writer or characters is held in much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the pages of this book, the readers are transformed from readers to listeners, listening to the troubles and concerns of a close friend. By sharing so candidly her personal beliefs, Williams is able to gain and keep the interest of her readers by allowing them to personally relate to her and the characters she describes. Not everyone agrees with Williams personal style of writing, and some have even asked, Whether... [her] personal style is too much for an academic audience (92). To this question, I answer emphatically NO! What would be too much for an academic audience is if Williams tried to cover the same socially hushed issue of racism in any way other than personal. Adopting a personal approach, Williams is not only able to address this taboo issue, but she can do it in a way as to keep her readers begging for
  • 4. Analysis Of The Article Chambersburg And Gettysburg... In the nineteenth century the daily life for the average American was changing, with the industrial revolution in full swing, Americans began to see changes in the economy, transportation, increases in food production, and the birth of the American system of manufacturing. America was modernizing, but modernization took place mostly in the north creating a divide between the south which remained agriculturally based. Daily life in the northern United Statestook on the hustle and bustle of a modern economy which can be seen in articles from the Valley Spirit. In the article Chambersburg and Gettysburg Railroad, the citizens of Fayetteville are interested in building a railroad linking the two towns. Fayetteville s citizens have already contributed eighty dollars towards having the path surveyed and would like for the citizens of Franklin County to donate the remaining fifty dollars to have the project completed in a timely manner (Chambersburg and Gettysburg Railroad). The editors of this article express great confidence in Franklin County s citizen s will to support this project (Chambersburg and Gettysburg Railroad). This article shows the mind set of northern Americans and their willingness to work together to modernize and improve the infrastructure of their towns and cities. Another example of this mindset and desire to improve the infrastructure can be seen in the article For the Valley Spirit, which talks about the construction of a bridge crossing the Franklin
  • 5. The Importance Of Cellular Respiration It can be said that cellular respiration is one of, if not the most important biochemical reactions, this applies even more so for humans. This metabolic pathway is intricate to say the least, yet so very fascinating. It is from this process that we derive energy from the food we consume. It creates our fuel, in specific glucose. Majority of what we consume or at least carbohydrates, breaks down into glucose. The formula for glucose is C6H12O6 (Phelan, 2010). Through cellular respirationenergy is produced, and this energy is generated to complete everyday tasks, produce heat within our bodies, and to provide electrical impulses in our brains. This is done so by cells releasing energy from the chemical bonds of food molecules and providing that energy for the essential processes of life. All living cells must carry out cellular respiration. This process can be either aerobic or anaerobic. Unlike prokaryotic cells who carry out cellular respiration within their cytoplasm or on the inner surfaces of their cell, the mitochondria are the site of most of the reactions, including cellular respiration, occur in eukaryotic cells. ATP is the energy currency in these cells. In other words, the outcome of cellular respiration is as a production process for ATP (Phelan, 2010) The first stage is called glycolysis, which can take place without the presence of molecular oxygen, which is called anaerobic respiration. If oxygen is present in the cell, then the cell can subsequently take
  • 6. Conflict Between Conflict And Conflict There is no single, precise definition of the word conflict. However, most people recognize conflict in the forms of tension, frustration, verbal or physical abuse, disagreement, annoyance, or rivalry (Carter and Byrnes, 2006). Conflict can occur when two or more individuals or groups have differing interests. Additionally, conflict often involves one or both sides determinedly interfering with the efforts of the other side to achieve its goals. However, conflict can occur when two sides are trying to cooperate in accomplishing a common goal but have conflicting thoughts on the best course of action to pursue. Conflict can range from friendly competition to extreme violence (Carter et al., 2006). In studying the numerous varieties... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A positive conflict concludes in mutual satisfaction (Drafke, 2009). Below are the benefits that might result in positive conflicts: 1. As a consequence of a conflict, talents, and abilities might emerge. When an individual encounters conflict, he or she may become more resourceful than they are in a calm state (Dubrin, 2017). Conflict often instills creativity in people (Dubrin, 2017). For example, research has shown that workers exposed to a mild conflict in the work environment often obtained more job associated information. Therefore, they performed their jobs better (Dubrin, 2017). 2. Experiencing conflict can enable one to feel better since conflict fulfills some psychological needs. Even though most people like a good fight, most individuals will be content to argue as a substitute (Dubrin, 2017). 3. Conflict can cause people to become united. As a result of a conflict, individuals involved may be made more accommodating to each other in the aftermath (Dubrin, 2017). Many believe that accommodation of disputing parties is a result of mutual experiences of being in a conflict (Dubrin, 2017) 4. Conflict can avert poor decisions in that it prevents people from agreeing too fast with each other. A potential problem of group decision making is what many refer to groupthink. Groupthink emerges when some groups become so cohesive that their tendency to agree
  • 7. Dual Language Service Experience Paper Experiencing anything new is always a step outside of my comfort zone, and with this project in particular whether it was going to someone else s church or bringing them to mine. I felt confident when it came to going to someone else s church, because I had a sense of what to expect and felt as though I knew enough about the environment. However, when it came to bringing someone to my church I did not feel that same sense of confidence. I have a primary church(full member), and I have another church that is smaller and more family like. I chose to bring my guest(Andrew H) to my smaller church, because the size would not have been has impactful as well as they do a dual language service(haitian creole english). I also chose to attend Andrew s church, because i somewhat of the culture there but I wanted to learn more. Saturday, November 27 I attended Braintree SDA Church, and it was quite different from what I am used to. Those leading the service and those participating in it have more interaction than I am used to. When it came to worship there was a designated book in the pews and a list of hymns in the program for you to follow along. I was not used to retaining the music like that. I was with my friends so I naturally felt positive, but I did not feel pulled into the worship. The congregation felt as though it was detached from the worship team As though they were singing and the congregation was being dragged along. I did not feel an emotional gravitational
  • 8. Cost-effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization... The Cost effectiveness Analysis of a Rotavirus Immunization Program for the United States was designed to estimate the economic impact of a national rotavirus immunization program. The research question and objective of the analysis was to determine if a rotavirus vaccine immunization program would be beneficial and cost effective. The study is policy relevant because it will determine if a rotavirusvaccine immunization program is effective enough for implementation and will assist in setting priorities for policy makers. The conclusions of the analysis will affect healthcare providers, doctors, hospitals, the vaccine users, and society as a whole. To cultivate results that illustrate a need for a rotavirus immunization program, decision analysis is an appropriate method because the decisions are objective rather than subjective, they are more focused on operations instead of strategy, and they encompass repetition rather than infrequency. Decision analysis looks to distinguish the most appropriate alternative outcomes and extracts data that identifies elements of the program that reflect value or disvalue. Additionally, it takes the viewpoint of the organization when decision making, opposed to an individual standpoint. Date included in the study consisted of the number of physician and emergency room visits, incidence rates, rotavirus infections, mortality estimates, hospitalizations, hospital discharge records, affected children, and vaccine coverage. • 9. Similarities Between Everett And Odysseus Ulysses Everett McGill is an escaped convict on the run with two other inmates by the names of Delmar and Pete, Everett is shown to be filled with pride and intelligence which sometimes kicks in which might be good or bad. Everett can easily be compared to Odysseus through several characteristics physically and emotionally, such as pride. Odysseusthe epic hero can be described as selfless, intelligent, and loving. Evidence from O Brother Where Art Thou, and The Odyssey sufficiently defends Everett as a direct representation of Odysseus through selfish behavior, loving emotions, and ruthless actions. Throughout the movie Everett portrays Odysseus by his selfish behavior, which is similar to what Odysseus does in book 9 of the epic. Everett acts selfishly by lying to Pete and Delmar about the existence of a treasure , to manipulate them into helping him get back to his wife. This displays Everett s selfish act can get him and his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Everett first sees the suitor that is about to marry his wife he immediately uses forceful actions against the man by getting into a fight with him in the middle of the store. This proves his actions are not always thought through. As a result of this he doesn t get any closer to getting his wife back which makes him sort of depressed that his wife doesn t express the same love for him that he does for her. This anger that is powering his actions can also be found in Odysseus. Odysseus cannot withhold his anger against the suitors for trying to marry his wife any longer after saying, You dared bid for my wife while I was still alive , and ended up killing all the suitors with his bow and arrow and a little help from his son. For this reason, Odysseus better demonstrates the epic hero archetype by showing himself as a powerful being which can also be viewed in Everett s point of

Blake s chapter, Electoral Democracy in the Provinces and Territories, in Christopher Dunn s book, Provinces. This chapter discusses the electoral procedures and outcomes in the provinces and territories as an indicator of the quality of democracy (Blake 115) that Canadian provinces and territories demonstrate. Blake introduces this topic in the fourth paragraph of the introduction. It is a clear thesis statement of the focus and purpose of this chapter. He begins this subsection with quoting section 3 and section 1 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, both of which are concerned with the democratic right to vote, as well as the reasonable limits that the law can impose. He relies upon Richard Katz analysis of three categories of qualifications for voting: community membership, competence and autonomy in order to analyze provincial and federal democratic fairness distributions pertaining to voting rights. Table 4.4 summarizes the other provincial and national voting qualifications and disqualifications. Prior to examining this table, Blake highlights a few key qualifications that the reader knowns, such as to say that all jurisdictions have established 18 as the minimum age for voting (Blake 126). This aids the reader to understand the table before the author does a full analysis of what the data means contextually. The manner in which this table is organized, by provinces, allows for Blake to clearly demonstrate democratic fairness. Blake summarizes this subsection by categorizing the provinces and territories into three groups, in terms of restrictions and exclusions on candidacy. The least restrictive provinces on the right to vote are Alberta, BC, PEI, Quebec and Saskatchewan. The most restrictive provinces are Nova Scotia, Ontario, and the territories, where a leave of absence must be requested prior to nomination. Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland

  • 14. Introduction To Oedipus The King Analysis In his essay, Introduction to Oedipus the King , Bernard Knox supports free will by stating that Oedipus downfall was not caused by fate. According to Knox there is not a doubt that, Oedipus is the free agent who, by his own self willed action, discovers that his own predicted destiny has already been fulfilled (86). He clearly states that Oedipusis responsible for his free actions during the play. He insists that Oedipus s made the decisions to discover the truth about himself. Bernard Knox believed that Oedipus Rex freely searched for his truth and not forced by fate to act on upon it: Oedipus did have one freedom: he was free to find out or not find out the truth. . . One freedom has allowed him: the freedom to search for the truth, the truth about the prophecies, about the gods, about himself. And of this freedom he makes full use. Against the advice and appeals of others, he pushes on, searching for the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. . . This freedom to search, and the heroic way in which Oedipus uses it, . .[is] a heroic example of a man s dedication to the search for truth, the truth about himself. (89) Bernard Knox believed that Oedipus had freedom but it ultimately leads to his own ruin. Knox explains that was able to control if he wanted to find out the truth. He adds that Oedipus has completely used his freedom to search for the truth about his prophecies, the gods, and about himself. He said that Oedipus stubbornly pushed on with the search for his truth against the caution and pled from others. Knox concluded that Oedipus s ability to search for the truth made the play about a man s dedication for the truth instead of a tragedy of destiny. Oedipus search for truth was one of his actions that had no other purpose other than his need to know. Oedipus was able to make his choices of wanting to learn the truth even though he was warned not to. His perseverance to find the truths of which he was searching for, that being his oracles or birth, were what ultimately lead him to his own demise. Oedipus actions were freely decided and his search for the truth can be seen as heroic . An example of Oedipus s firm decision to find the truth can be seen when he chose to ignore

Dubliners and The Living Dead In his work The Dead, James Joyce utilizes his character Michael Furey, Gretta Conroy s deceased love from her youth, as an apparent symbol of how the dead have a steadfast and continuous power over the living. The dominant power which Michael maintains over the protagonist, Gabriel Conroy, is that Gabriel is faced with the intense question of whether his wife, Gretta Conroy, loves him and whether he honestly loves her. Joyce provides substantial information to persuade one to believe that Gabriel does truly love his wife. He had never felt like that himself towards any woman, but he knew that such a feeling must be love (Joyce 182). Gabriel is perplexed as to why, if Gretta loves him so much, she still possesses memories of her first love. He also wonders why this important detail of Gretta s life was not brought to his attention at an earlier point. Gabriel s recognition that he has been excluded from what he believes to be the deepest experience of Gretta s life now becomes the deepest experience of his life. Gretta s reaction to his questions about her first love causes Gabriel to become overwhelmed by Michael Furey s control over him. Gabriel by his ideas, his tastes, and his sensitivities has been isolated from others but always found solace in his self esteem. Michael Furey has destroyed this. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory, no one can steal ~Unknown In the Iliad, by Homer, The Dog Who That Bit People , by James Thurber and Pride , by Dahlia Ravikovitch, the idea of sympathy is conveyed through characterization. To our first piece, the Iliad, by Homer. Sympathy is showed in King Priam and the narrator with how loss effects our character, before and after the loss of loves ones. On page 152, King Priam said, Hector my son, if you die, what cares I if Troy be victorious? If you live, what matters it if we be conquered by the Greek? Hear me, Hector! I speak as your father. King Priam fears to lose what little family he has left. Sympathy is shown through King Priam trying to be a better father, and not losing Hector as he did with his daughters and other sons. The heartbreak is there and you can feel it. His heart cannot afford any more loss and sorrow. Another place that shows sympathy through characterization is on page 153. Methodology Used Soft computing methodology can be used for developing a model that can predict autonomic computing based software systems maintainability according to the opinions of experts of this domain. Soft computing is different from conventional hard computing as in hard computing we require full truth but in soft computing we can solve a problem with vague values and with partial truth [11]. Soft computing techniques are more suitable for real world problems and require very less computational time .Soft computing technologies includes neural networks, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms etc. Xinghuo and Kaynak [10] explain briefly about soft computing and its technologies. Fuzzy logic works similar to biological systems as it mimics the human body for problem solving [9] so it can be used to generate a model for predicting maintainability of autonomic software system after the system is developed. 5. Technology Used This model will work by taking inputs as the characteristics of autonomic computing that affect maintainability of these systems as input .These inputs are vague values so it would be better to use Fuzzy logic using MATLAB. Using Mamdani FIS (Fuzzy Inference system) in MATLAB a model can be developed. 6. Testing parameters On the basis of inputs given to the model testing can be done. Inputs of this model would be the characteristics of autonomous system which affect the maintainability of the system. Autonomic software system may not have all the

Two of the centers were targeted toward upper middle class families, and the other two were designed to aid low income working parents. My experiences at the two types of centers, however, were all very similar. I became frustrated with the environments that I continued to find in daycare center situations. Analysis Of The Poem The Darkness Within Men By Steve... 12 Years a Slave positions utter beauty between and within scenes of violence and abjection to inspire poignant reflection; frequent tranquil landscapes emphasize gruesome acts and remind us of man s capability for despicable amorality. Though we often like to sequester slavery to a time and a place no longer existent, it was not 19th century Louisiana that committed these heinous acts but rather the privileged white men who occupied the territory. Louisiana landscapes are and always will be beautiful; it is man that muddies our retrospective visions. Yet, Steve McQueenallows us to breathe for the beauty itself often provides relief from horrific previous scenes; he simply does not create empty breaks. We both reflect on the darkness within men and wonder exactly how this beauty affects and/or represents the various characters. The jarring juxtaposition of beauty and abjection inspires psychological introspection for we are never awarded with beauty from subjective points of view (it is presented from anonymous angles). The cotton picking scenes and the scene in which Solomon rows down the river illustrate the jarring effects beauty and abjection create when presented simultaneously. Both enforce a separation between man and nature and emphasize the heinous through means of polar comparison, yet also tie visual beauty to the retention of hope. Beginning with the cotton picking sequences, Steven McQueen frequently uses a wide far shot and captures the blinding white
  • 35. Mexico Poverty According to a 2015 study by The Organization for Economic Corporation and Development, Mexico has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the world which inevitably leads to a sharp contrast among living conditions, agency, and power between the rich and the poor. Mexican society has been stratified since the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican revolution were to disperse wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting thus serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only find shelter in the slums (https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the poverty and social stratification in mexico/). After watching the documentary about the One Child Policy in China, a common theme appears to be that the poorest and most marginalized seem to be those living in rural societies. This is most likely because generally speaking, the poor are the least educated simply because they cannot afford it thus resulting in having to hold laborious jobs such as those in agriculture. The distribution of wealth in Mexico is perhaps the leading cause for the social inequality so prominent in the country. For the past 25 years the gap between the rich and poor has been steadily increasing. According to the WEA the top 1% of Mexico s distribution has an average annual income 47 times that of the poorest 1% (https:/ /www.worldeconomicsassociation.org/newsletterarticles/inequality in mexico/). The Author states that the ocean is the main buffer against climate change, In fact, about 25 percent of the greenhouse gases that we emit actually gets absorbed by the oceans, as does over 90 per cent of the extra heat produced by human induced climate change, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reports (Baher). This shows that trash in the oceans are not only affecting wildlife but affecting the world also. Moreover, the trash is also affecting the environment. According to Yakupitiyage, Because of ocean currents, this trash accumulates in what is known as ocean garbage patches, located in virtually every ocean in the world....This has contributed to the massive piles of trash that have washed upon the shores of the isolated and once pristine Henderson Island in the South Pacific. Consequently, trash in the oceans can cause catastrophic damage to the climate and the environment. One problem of helping contain the trash, is the cost of using materials that decompose quicker. The blues tell us about black people s attempt to carve out a significant existence in a very trying situation. The purpose of the blues is to give structure to black existence in a context where color means rejection and humiliation. Suffering and its relation to blackness is inseparable from the meaning of the blues. Without pain and suffering, and what that meant for black people in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas, there would have been no blues.
