Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, And Hinduism
Many religions are practiced throughout the world. The most common ones are l Christianity,
Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Each of these have their own views, preachers and
followers. Every religion is independently known because of its distinguishing holy being and god to
be worshipped. Religions give their followers the particular strategies and rules in which to lead their
lives. These rules and strategies give the distinctive identity to the followers of the particular religion.
The religion assists the followers in improving and making better the sense of the world in which they
are spending their lives. Thus religion gives their followers the particular way and teachings to follow
in order to guide their lives.
In today s multicultural societies there is cold war among people because of religion issues. The way
religions are interpreted and practiced makes for significant changes and distinctions. However it is
also the matter of fact that each religion wants the people of other religions to accept and adopt their
religions because all religions believe that their religion is the greatest religion in the world. Though
all the religions give the specific and distinctive teachings and have the different beliefs and
characteristics, still each religion gives the teachings of humanity and love with the mankind.
Islam is also one of the greatest religions that are being practiced in many parts of the world. Islam has
given the significant identity to its followers

Jazz Music Research Paper
Of all the arts that took place in the United States, Jazz is well thought out as America s first original
art form. Since its beginning in the 20th century, Jazz music is defined by chronicle changes. Almost
every decade a new essence enhanced the movement, and by the 1940 s jazz had developed into a
mature, complex form of music, with many nuances and avenues for unceasing changes.
Jazz appeared in New Orleans in the early twentieth century. It is the product of miscegenation
between the culture of American black people from slavery, and European culture imported by the
colonists. In the early 1910s, New Orleans Jazz began combining ragtime and blues with
improvisation. In 1930, the swing era emerged followed by Bebop in 1940 where jazz shifted ... Show

First, the traditional artist performs jazz based on bebop, swing, blues and hard bop. They dismiss free
jazz and fusion. These artists consider that they play real jazz, not the diverse hybrids and adds on that

Marsalis, who played a major role in the reappearance of jazz.
Second, the contemporary mainstream artists are mainly influenced by hard bop. Although they use
Hard Bop instrumentation and musical forms, contemporary mainstream artists try to push the music
further. They increase technical proficiency on their instruments, they expand musical harmonies
using more difficult chords and complex chords progression and they express deeper and varied
emotions. The trumpeter Terence Blanchard is today s most important contemporary mainstream jazz
artist.
Third, as their name indicates, anything goes jazz artists mix up all kind of music. Their music can
include all styles of jazz, blues, rock, Latin, classical, popular, hip hop... The saxophonist Dave

Symptoms And Severity Of A Knee Ligament
Miller (2015) depicts that the symptoms and severity of a knee ligament sprain relies on upon the level
of stretching or tearing of the ligament. In his study he has included 3 grades of knee ligament sprain.
1) In a mild grade 1: knee ligament sprain, the ligaments may extend but they don t actually tear. The
joint cannot swell or hurt very much. It can increase the risk of injury again.
2) With a moderate evaluation II sprain: Bruising and swelling are most common sign. Ligaments get
partially torn and more painful.
3) With a severe grade III sprain: A ligament tears totally, bleeding under the skin, and swelling. Thus,
the joint become unstable and not able to bear weight. In grade 3 sprain, all pain fibers are torn so
there is no pain at the time of the injury.
Medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament injuries are most common in Soccer players.
Management:
Mangine et al (2015) in Management of the Patient with an ACL/MCL injured knee He has
established a treatment plan based on type of ligament injuries. 1) Medial or lateral meniscus tear 2)
Degree of MCL tear and ACL tear 3) Capsular damage and chrondral surface injury. The period of
time between injury and surgery depend on tissue included and severity of the injury.
1) Grade1 MCL: ACL surgeries with or without damage to meniscus within 1 week. No pre surgery

Donald Trump s Social Security Reform
WASHINGTON During his triumphant presidential campaign, Donald Trump renounced Republican
orthodoxy on Social Security reform.
We re not going to hurt the people who have been paying into Social Security their whole life, Trump

But the man heading the Trump transition team s Social Security effort? Michael Korbey, a former
lobbyist who has spent much of his career advocating for cutting and privatizing the program.
It s a failed system, broken and bankrupt, Korbey said as a lobbyist in the mid 1990s. Korbey

Doe V. Taylor Independent School Case Study
Doe v. Taylor Independent School District, 7.3 (5th Circ. 1994). This article discusses Jane Doe, a
Texas high school girl sexually molested by a high school teacher. Jane Doe filed a civil suit against
Taylor independent School District. The reasons were, the school board permitted violations of due
process and violated her equal protection rights. Jane thoroughly established her constitutional rights
and proceeded with her claim. The teacher violated the fourteenth amendment to be free from sexual
abuse by a state employed teacher. The court ruled in favor of Doe, stating that there was no action
taken in order to prevent the violation of her rights. This case impressed me, it was very interesting. I
believe that the teacher violated the student rights and the school failed to properly respond to the
claims of molestation. I was also shocked that the school district was not proactive toward Doe needs.

Nowadays in modern developed market change in prices and other factors are very expected. The
change in one of the factors for instance price and effect of it on another factor like demand or supply
are measured by elasticity. Elasticity is the measure of how the change in one of the factor will be

The prices of commodity goods are going up and down. The reason of price fluctuation is changes in
supply or demand. Equilibrium in price find when supply and demand will intersect each other. The
change in one of them will cause price fluctuate. For instance the problem with supply may cause poor
harvest or loss in production. Change in demand can be caused by change in technology, income or
substitutes (Parkin 2010). Mostly in agricultural or commodity markets there is large price fluctuation
in price in very short time. This can give negative impact on producers, for instance they may have
over or under production in short term; or calculate over or under investment in long terms. Also
prices can be too high for essential goods, like bread or rice, problem with this goods can cause a
disorder in country caused by young adults which not satisfied with high prices, similar situation was
in Egypt in 2011. On the other hand prices can be too low, for instance cigarettes, its generally known
that smoking harms health, governments to protect citizens making new rules, for which they spend
money, for that reason it can make negative impact on governments economic. Another

The Journey In ā€œHeart Of Darknessā€ Spans Not Only The...
The journey in Heart of Darkness spans not only the capricious waters extending our physical world,
but also the perplexing ocean which exists in the heart of man. Through Marlow s somewhat
overenthusiastic eyes, we perceive the mystery that is humanity, and the blurred line between darkness
and light. It is an expedition into the deepest crevices of the human heart and mind bringing on an
awareness, and finally descending into the abyss of hell abiding in each of us. Conrad s use of
wordplay and symbolism shows the reader that this journey is something much deeper. In Heart of
Darkness , Joseph Conrad conveys the themes of darkness, duality, and imperialism through Marlow s
tale of his experience along the Congo River. To begin with, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Savage. This is the dominant theme of duality because the white men in the story are supposed to be
civil and the Africans are called savages, when in reality of the story, the white men are savages
because of the way they treat the Africans. Next, there is Kurtz vs Marlow. Kurtz loses all morals to
the wilderness though Marlow does not give into primitive lusts. Marlow is, however, tempted which
is why he is haunted by Kurtz. Kurtz represents complete savagery, lack of darkness and strength, all
things that Marlow is trying to withstand and comprehend. By examining Kurtz soul, he must examine
his own soul as well. Lastly, there is Kurtz intended vs the tribal woman. The women of Kurtz life are
opposite yet alike in their beauty and love for Kurtz. The intended is the symbol of light all of the sad
light of the cloudy evening took refuge on her forehead. This fair hair, this pale visage, this pure brow
seemed surrounded by an ashy halo (Conrad 1902, 112). On the contrary, the tribal woman is the
symbol of primitive darkness. Savage and superb; wild eyed and magnificent there was something
ominous and stately in her deliberate progress (Conrad 1902, 157). The similarities are proven when
Conrad writes She put out her arms...stretching them back and with clasped pale hands across the

Ainsley Soli Sociology
Ainsley Soli is a good person who does not belong here. At least, that is what she has been telling

Understanding the Economic Recession in America Essay
The economic recession of the late 2000s has been called the greatest economic downturn our country
has faced since the Great Depression. American businesses and banks are failing, foreclosures are
spreading like wildfire, and unemployment numbers have reached double digits. Under our current
president, many are optimistic, but many others are fearful for the future. Economists have different
speculations regarding the causes of the Great Recession . Some blame it on higher prices for
necessities like oil. Others blame the recession on the burst of the real estate bubble, inflation, and
lacking government regulations on big businesses. Economic experts are also debating on possible
solution to end the recession. It is evident that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the housing bubble burst, credit was tightened and fewer loans were distributed. These two events,
along with the global price expansion, helped create a ripple effect that furthered the economic
turmoil. The credit squeeze lowered demand of products from businesses, which led to a decrease in
their profits. As revenues decreased, businesses closed down many of their plants and facilities in
order to reduce costs. The closures of these plants led to layoffs of millions of workers, and finally, a
sharp decline in the US stock market ( What Caused the Recession? ). Although the instability of sub
prime mortgages, the credit crunch, and the expansion of global prices heralded the advent of the
economic crisis, other experts have had their own opinions about the cause of the financial meltdown.
Adam Smith s invisible hand and the American pursuit of self interest played a large role on the onset
of the recession. The invisible hand is an economic theory developed b Adam Smith, a pioneer in
world economics. The theory is that as consumers buy products, companies will adjust their prices and
product distributions to fit the needs of the consumers, thus resulting in mutual satisfaction between
businesses and buyers ( Adam Smith and the invisible hand ). However, as the economy grew strong
during the pre recession years, American consumers became more influenced by greed. They

Inferno And The Divine Comedy
Inferno (c. 1314) serves as the first part of Dante Alighieri s poem Divine Comedy which is a journey
through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. On a broader level, Divine Comedy serves as an allegory for the
journey of the soul towards God through the created earth. Inferno and the Divine Comedy serve as a
form of scholastic thought, the rational study of religion, as Dante draws on medieval theology to
share the modern view on God and the afterlife. This essay explores Dante s perception of the universe
and man s place in it. Throughout Inferno, Dante provides a unique perspective on his view of sin and
justice these views a direct result of Dante s own beliefs and the current political situation in Florence.
A major theme that Inferno underscores is that God represents justice and love. His justice can be seen
in Hell as the magnitude of each sin corresponds to the punishment one will receive in the afterlife.
Throughout Divine Comedy, Dante shares a vision of an ordered universe where everyone is where
they belong. The structure of the universe, specifically Hell, can be seen as a representation of God s
love for His people. Sin is a violation of divine perfection and without God s love; everyone would be
punished for their sin. As Dante and the reader are taken throughout Inferno, we can see that Hell is
just another creation of God s justice and love as each sinner is punished according to how
contradictory their sin is to God s will. The structure of Divine Comedy is the

that particular New Years. 2015 hadn t been the greatest year of my life, so that meant 2016 would
have to be better. As much as I wanted that and wished it were true, it wasn t at all. On New Year s
Day 2016, my grandpa was admitted into the hospital, and the months following were a roller coaster
of highs and lows that made 2016 an unforgettable year for many not so great reasons. During the
summer of 2015, my Grandpa Mert was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This particular type of cancer
is usually very treatable and is something you just live with, so it didn t worry our family too much.
Toward the end of the year, however, things started changing. On New Years Day, my grandpa was
admitted to the hospital for the flu, and the flu turned into pneumonia, and we found out later it was all
because of his cancer. He had tried one round of chemotherapy, but the treatment made his body so
weak that it couldn t fight off other viruses, like the flu and pneumonia. He ended up staying in the
hospital on and off (mostly on) for just over a month, and even had to spend his 75th birthday in the
hospital. As his health progressively worsened and his body became weaker, he

What difference will it make to investors and creditors if after the acquisition the acquiring company
has long term liabilities exceeding $4 billion and equity of about $500 million? Will the company be
able to cover the debt service? How can you know? How significant will the next several interim
financial statements be? What is the current position of this company? Some companies in the past
used leverage advantageously. In a similar situation, a major retailer filed under the bankruptcy laws.
The company s stock currently trades at about 6.5 time earnings. What factors entered into this price
earnings ratio? Consider the two cases which have just been presented. If you were an investor in
these companies, how would you evaluate this information? What action might you take? Are there
any significant factors about the financial statements of these companies you might want to examine
more thoroughly? To interpret this information, a serious investor or creditor must be able to read,
interpret, and analyze financial statements.

The Ephesians, One Of Great Intriguing Distinction Essay
The Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians is one of great intriguing distinction. The letter possesses unique
properties in comparison its fellow Prison Epistles namely, Philemon, Philippians and Colossians. The
author of this work seeks to further expound upon these unique properties and its implications for how
one should interpret the Epistle, specifically Ephesians 1:3 14. Authorship It has been generally
accepted that the Apostle Paul is the Author of the Epistle. The Early Church Leaders acknowledged
Paul s authorship of the letter to the Ephesians. According to historical documents, Polycarp, Ignatius
and Tertullian referenced Paul several times in connection with the writing of the Epistle. Despite such
a traditional acceptance of Paul s authorship of Ephesians there is a small minority of those who are
not convinced. Many who are not convinced of Paul s authorship argue that the teachings he presents
in Ephesians are unusually different from the teachings in his other works. The style of Greek used in
the Epistle is also quite different from that of the Prison Epistles. The impersonal nature of Ephesians
has also caused some theologians to question whether or not Paul actually wrote the Epistle. The
impersonal nature doesn t seem to be a characteristic of Paul s writings and with a place that Paul was
so familiar with it doesn t seem appropriate that he would write avoiding individual salutations. In
defense of the Apostle s authorship, we see that members of

The Effects Of Religiosity And Culture On Adolescent Std...
Abstract According to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 65 percent of teens have
had sex by the time they were seniors in high school . Under aged sex is a prevalent activity in today s
society; henceforth, starting this act from a younger age results in an increase in sexual partners over
one s lifespan, which, because of the nature of the activity, gives a greater risk of sexually transmitted
diseases. As a result, it is important to understand: adolescent STD rates, the factors that may
contribute to them and the possible preventable variables that could aid in alleviating the rate of
sexually transmitted diseases transmitted amongst adolescents. To further understand the effects of
religiosity and culture, this review of literature will discover the negative and positive correlations,
and the associations certain variables obtained to influence the adolescent STD rates. The possible
major factors that contribute to high adolescent STD rates are: adolescent relationships, sexual
violence, lack of sexual knowledge, and lack of parental guidance. However, religiosity and culture
plays both a positive and a negative preventive strategy in slowing down adolescent STD rates. To
further reduce rates of adolescent sexually transmitted diseases, more research is needed to measure
the effectiveness of the different types of religions and cultures. Introduction In 2012, The Centers of
Diseases and Controls released surveillance data which stated that young

Descriptive Essay About The Doll
Victim 1
Do you ever wonder what it was like in a horror movie? Nothing like a cliche, more like It and maybe
a couple others. What a doll that was cursed, able to move on her own and be insane? A doll that can
smell a sin miles to acres away and track it down like a hungry bloodhound in the cold winter willing
to eat any meat. That s what happened years ago, I thought it was a legend, but never make a sin in
front of the doll. You ll wake her from her sleep and she ll take revenge on all humanity to make the
world pure.
************************************************
I was five when I got the doll, not giving a care in the world to my surroundings. The doll was weird
looking, almost terrifying to look at, but the doll looked to me interestingly enough to keep it and play
with. She had a red top hot with a blue ribbon wrapped around it with midnight blue hair by the looks
of it with light blue for her bangs, her hair in two ponytails in the upper back part of her head. Her left
eye was stitched up and the right though liked like the kind that can be used for any emotion to speak
of with the color of ice blue. She had a dress that covered her neck, her upper body and leggings for
pants, on the feeling of the material. Her shoulders, forearm, and her nails painted black. Her shoes,
just plain black with flat boots, able to take off and put back on. Doll also had pink spider earrings that
was very detailed to the very inch.
Years later to age ten, was the when it all started. We lived in a quiet town and no need for police
officers, but we still had them anyway. The first murder happened when my family went to the movies
to see Black Moon. It was such a good movie, when it came out on VHS, I watched and watched that
movie, stuck in a time lope and never leaving it. Getting up a few times to use the bathroom, eat and
drink. When the movie ended, and left the building, police lights were on and flashing. We thought it
was all a prank or to scare us, and it scared us to the point of nightmares. I still do up to it, but rarely
now.
The details that I wish to never had seen, or to even talk about it. It was a disconnected corpse. Blood
leaked out of the head which was torn off it s body, along with it s

Things Not Seen Alicia Quotes
I would describe Alicia from the book Things Not Seen by saying she is kind, independent, and a little
sarcastic. In the book, Things Not Seen, on chapter 20, page 175, it states, ..., I go up to the third floor
of the library, find Alicia, and in five minutes we re looking for a cab to take us to the Sears corporate
headquarters in Hoffman Estates, . This quote shows how Alicia is kind and would do mostly anything
for Bobby, like help him sneak to Sears cooperate headquarters at night, for Bobby to find out who
else had problems with their electric blanket. Also, Alicia is very independent, in the book Things Not
Seen, on chapter 17 page 137 it states, Just because I m blind doesn t mean I m stupid, . This quote
shows how Alicia doesn t want to be treated differently and that she isn t a little kid who can t do
anything. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the book, when Bobby became invisible he was insecure about himself. He didn t
want to be stepped on or be left home. In the book, Things Not Seen, on chapter 7, page 56, it states,
But fear doesn t need doors and windows, It works from the inside, . This quote shows how Bobby
was afraid to be stuck as the invisible boy and to be home alone in the beginning of Things Not Seen,
but in the end Bobby gained some confident that he got from being invisible for some time. When he
turned back visible he still had the same confidence he gained from being invisible. In conclusion,
Bobby became more confident in the end of Things Not Seen than in the

Comparing Philosophy And Cosmological Approach To The...
Natural Theology is when both philosophy and theology work together as one to provide more logical
proof and understanding through nature that God actually does exist, as opposed to leaning on an
individual faith, revelation, experience or religion. Natural theology is the reasonable idea so to speak
that God exists and has always existed. This is examined through our natural understanding and
observation of nature, how things happen in the world and even through our own existence as human
beings. The main differences within Philosophy and Theology is that Philosophy for example is the
study and the knowledge of how the world works and of whom we, as humans are through reality and
the world we live in meanwhile, Theology is the study of God and religion which happens to be
completely different with how philosophy views God and religion. Although theology and philosophy
are completely different, when both come together, Natural theology comes about providing a new
approach of thought in the existence of God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Ontological approach was developed by Saint Anselm, according to the lecture, This proof is
based upon the following reasoning: I can imagine a perfect being. Perfection and non existence are
logically inconsistent ideas, because failing to exist is an imperfection. (South University Online).
Basically this approach is said that merely existing is the necessary result of perfection. If we can
simply exist then, there must be a divine, perfect being that has always and also exists as well
however, afterwards, philosopher Immanuel Kant argued that simply because there is the thought that
existence is perfect, does not give us proof or enough information to say that in fact, there is a divine
being, Kant felt that it was all a simple thought and provided no natural proof of any

6 + 1 Traits Of Writing Analysis
Education Northwest created 6+1 Traits of Writing as a method for teaching and assessing writing.
This model consists of six writing qualities, ideas, voice, organization, conventions, word choice, and
fluency, and one appearance quality, presentation. The main theme and the details of the writing are
presented in the ideas of the piece. The ideas describe how clearly the writer shows his thoughts. The
internal structure of the writing is presented through the organization , which lays out the sequence of
the story, its strength and logic, and the connections in the written material. The writer expresses his
feelings trough the voice . The voice distinguishes the writer as who he is. Through the word choice ,
the writer articulates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Too often students think that they cannot write and that is because they do not know what is expected
of them. With proper modeling and guiding, the 6+1 traits of writing helps students develop their
skills. The rubrics aid students in evaluating their own writing and make improvements. These traits,
which should be taught in English classes, can and should be applied in other classes, such as math,
science, and history. For example, in math class students demonstrate sentence fluency when they
explain their reasoning while solving problems. In science class, students practice and use the
convention trait when applying formulas and assigning units of measurements, the same way they use
grammar and punctuation in English classes. Although 6+1 Traits of Writing has seven essential traits,
which should be taught and assessed by English teachers, in my opinion, content area teachers,
included myself, do not have to use all of them concurrently. In Math or Science classes, I can focus
on one or two traits, depending on the information which is being taught during a certain lesson. A
great way to implement and use this model would be writing a research paper with a theme from
history or science in collaboration with the English teachers, whose focus would be teaching the
sentence fluency and conventions. Six plus one traits of writing can be applied in core classes, but
only if it is taught in English Language Arts

Tiger Sharks-Personal Narrative
I muttered swear words under my breath as I finally made it into the doors of work. Usually I m never
late, but I got caught up with an excellent argumentative article on tiger sharks. Morning Mike... you
don t look prepared. Alysha greeted bluntly. Yeah, got caught up in an article. I admitted, trying to fix
the wrinkles in my un ironed blue shirt. Ohhh, you should tell me about it later, when you look
presentable. She insulted. Damn her. I gave a tired nod before turning my attention to Mr. Harland
who was about to begin speaking. Good morning everyone, I hope you re ready for the day. Today we

Everyone takes their own car, so I ducked into my beloved grey Audi A6 and purred the engine to a
start as I waited for Alysha. Once her white Nissan Juke flitted by, I took my turn by backing out of

could never actually bring myself to hate her. Who could, really. She meets my intellectual level, and
we keep each other in check. I get her and she gets me, which is why we work so well together on a
team. Beauty with a brain, I like to describe her. Our group was small. It consisted of Amie, William,
and two other girls named Roly and Veronica. One by one, our cars pulled into the aquarium parking
lot to find a space suitable for our wheels. Once done, we came together in front of the deep blue
building. Ready? Alysha asked, throwing her blonde hair behind her as we started into the building.
The two girls Roly and Veronica walked close together, sharing whispers and light giggles. Best

The Land Of The Jordan River
After the nation of Israel had fled Pharaoh s domination in Egypt and just before crossing the Jordan
River into the Promised Land, Moses sent twelve spies, one from each tribe, to assess the new land.
After 40 days, they returned telling stories of a great land flowing with milk and honey that was
inhabited by a powerful people living in large well fortified cities. Caleb, one of the twelve, a
courageous and loyal colleague of Joshua, silenced the crowd. Standing before Moses, Caleb declared
boldly, We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.
The other ten spies filled with fear scoffed at both Joshua and Calab, We can t attack these people.
They are stronger than we are.
The ten then spread lies among the people about the new Promised Land that Joshua and Caleb had
just explored.
Only Joshua sided with Caleb. Both of them tore their clothes in anger before the assembled crowd
saying, The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us
he will lead us into that land and give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid
of the people of the land. But the Israelites had already forgotten God s promise and angrily threw
stones at them. Consequently, that rebellious and sinful generation of Israelites found only death in the
desert.
Joshua and Caleb possessed a pure Spirit. They had courageously risked their lives in order to speak
the Truth. They alone remembered how God

Compare And Contrast American And Japanese Education
In today s world, many industrialized nations compete with one another for academic supremacy. The
main contenders of this education competition are the United States and Japan. In America, teachers
push their students to become the best. This, in turn, breeds competition amongst students in which
they constantly try to outdo another to earn the number one spot. In Japan, teachers encourage their
students to work together in a cooperative manner. Although the American and Japanese education
systems may seem similar, they differ vastly in the following areas: the approach each system uses to
educate children and their students perception of how important higher education is.
Firstly, these two educational systems differ in their approach to educating children. The American
education system places a strong emphasis on the notion of individualism. American teachers and
parents view individual development and achievement as the most important reasons for early
schooling. (Hoffman 541). In many American schools, teachers are expected to assist students develop
their critical thinking skills. For instance, when a teacher gives a lecture on photosynthesis, he or she
will encourage his or her students to actively participate in class. The teacher takes charge and guides
the course of the lecture. In this case, the teacher expects several students to come up with their own
explanations and then voice their opinion to the entire class without relying on someone else. For the

This article discusses Jane Doe, a Texas high school girl sexually molested by a high school teacher. Jane Doe filed a civil suit against Taylor independent School District. The reasons were, the school board permitted violations of due process and violated her equal protection rights. Jane thoroughly established her constitutional rights and proceeded with her claim. The teacher violated the fourteenth amendment to be free from sexual abuse by a state employed teacher. The court ruled in favor of Doe, stating that there was no action taken in order to prevent the violation of her rights. This case impressed me, it was very interesting. I believe that the teacher violated the student rights and the school failed to properly respond to the claims of molestation. I was also shocked that the school district was not proactive toward Doe needs. #2 Franklin v. Gwinnett County Public School, 8.3 (1992). This article Discusses the case of Christine Franklin. The journey in Heart of Darkness spans not only the capricious waters extending our physical world, but also the perplexing ocean which exists in the heart of man. Through Marlow s somewhat overenthusiastic eyes, we perceive the mystery that is humanity, and the blurred line between darkness and light. It is an expedition into the deepest crevices of the human heart and mind bringing on an awareness, and finally descending into the abyss of hell abiding in each of us. Conrad s use of wordplay and symbolism shows the reader that this journey is something much deeper. In Heart of Darkness , Joseph Conrad conveys the themes of darkness, duality, and imperialism through Marlow s tale of his experience along the Congo River. To begin with, ... This is the dominant theme of duality because the white men in the story are supposed to be civil and the Africans are called savages, when in reality of the story, the white men are savages because of the way they treat the Africans. Next, there is Kurtz vs Marlow. Kurtz loses all morals to the wilderness though Marlow does not give into primitive lusts. Marlow is, however, tempted which is why he is haunted by Kurtz. Kurtz represents complete savagery, lack of darkness and strength, all things that Marlow is trying to withstand and comprehend. By examining Kurtz soul, he must examine his own soul as well. Lastly, there is Kurtz intended vs the tribal woman. The women of Kurtz life are opposite yet alike in their beauty and love for Kurtz. The intended is the symbol of light all of the sad light of the cloudy evening took refuge on her forehead. This fair hair, this pale visage, this pure brow seemed surrounded by an ashy halo (Conrad 1902, 112). On the contrary, the tribal woman is the symbol of primitive darkness. Savage and superb; wild eyed and magnificent there was something ominous and stately in her deliberate progress (Conrad 1902, 157). At least, that is what she has been telling herself the last two years as she sits alone in solitary confinement in San Quentin State Prison. As revenues decreased, businesses closed down many of their plants and facilities in order to reduce costs. The closures of these plants led to layoffs of millions of workers, and finally, a sharp decline in the US stock market ( What Caused the Recession? ). Although the instability of sub prime mortgages, the credit crunch, and the expansion of global prices heralded the advent of the economic crisis, other experts have had their own opinions about the cause of the financial meltdown. On a broader level, Divine Comedy serves as an allegory for the journey of the soul towards God through the created earth. Inferno and the Divine Comedy serve as a form of scholastic thought, the rational study of religion, as Dante draws on medieval theology to share the modern view on God and the afterlife. This essay explores Dante s perception of the universe and man s place in it. Throughout Inferno, Dante provides a unique perspective on his view of sin and justice these views a direct result of Dante s own beliefs and the current political situation in Florence. A major theme that Inferno underscores is that God represents justice and love. His justice can be seen in Hell as the magnitude of each sin corresponds to the punishment one will receive in the afterlife. Throughout Divine Comedy, Dante shares a vision of an ordered universe where everyone is where they belong. The structure of the universe, specifically Hell, can be seen as a representation of God s love for His people. Sin is a violation of divine perfection and without God s love; everyone would be punished for their sin. As Dante and the reader are taken throughout Inferno, we can see that Hell is just another creation of God s justice and love as each sinner is punished according to how contradictory their sin is to God s will. • 25. The Ephesians, One Of Great Intriguing Distinction Essay The Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians is one of great intriguing distinction. The letter possesses unique properties in comparison its fellow Prison Epistles namely, Philemon, Philippians and Colossians. The author of this work seeks to further expound upon these unique properties and its implications for how one should interpret the Epistle, specifically Ephesians 1:3 14. Authorship It has been generally accepted that the Apostle Paul is the Author of the Epistle. The Early Church Leaders acknowledged Paul s authorship of the letter to the Ephesians. According to historical documents, Polycarp, Ignatius and Tertullian referenced Paul several times in connection with the writing of the Epistle. Despite such a traditional acceptance of Paul s authorship of Ephesians there is a small minority of those who are not convinced. Many who are not convinced of Paul s authorship argue that the teachings he presents in Ephesians are unusually different from the teachings in his other works. The style of Greek used in the Epistle is also quite different from that of the Prison Epistles. The impersonal nature of Ephesians has also caused some theologians to question whether or not Paul actually wrote the Epistle. The impersonal nature doesn t seem to be a characteristic of Paul s writings and with a place that Paul was so familiar with it doesn t seem appropriate that he would write avoiding individual salutations. Abstract According to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 65 percent of teens have had sex by the time they were seniors in high school . Under aged sex is a prevalent activity in today s society; henceforth, starting this act from a younger age results in an increase in sexual partners over one s lifespan, which, because of the nature of the activity, gives a greater risk of sexually transmitted diseases. As a result, it is important to understand: adolescent STD rates, the factors that may contribute to them and the possible preventable variables that could aid in alleviating the rate of sexually transmitted diseases transmitted amongst adolescents. To further understand the effects of religiosity and culture, this review of literature will discover the negative and positive correlations, and the associations certain variables obtained to influence the adolescent STD rates. The possible major factors that contribute to high adolescent STD rates are: adolescent relationships, sexual violence, lack of sexual knowledge, and lack of parental guidance. However, religiosity and culture plays both a positive and a negative preventive strategy in slowing down adolescent STD rates. To further reduce rates of adolescent sexually transmitted diseases, more research is needed to measure the effectiveness of the different types of religions and cultures. The doll was weird looking, almost terrifying to look at, but the doll looked to me interestingly enough to keep it and play with. She had a red top hot with a blue ribbon wrapped around it with midnight blue hair by the looks of it with light blue for her bangs, her hair in two ponytails in the upper back part of her head. Her left eye was stitched up and the right though liked like the kind that can be used for any emotion to speak of with the color of ice blue. She had a dress that covered her neck, her upper body and leggings for pants, on the feeling of the material. Her shoulders, forearm, and her nails painted black. Her shoes, just plain black with flat boots, able to take off and put back on. Doll also had pink spider earrings that was very detailed to the very inch. Natural Theology is when both philosophy and theology work together as one to provide more logical proof and understanding through nature that God actually does exist, as opposed to leaning on an individual faith, revelation, experience or religion. Natural theology is the reasonable idea so to speak that God exists and has always existed. This is examined through our natural understanding and observation of nature, how things happen in the world and even through our own existence as human beings. The main differences within Philosophy and Theology is that Philosophy for example is the study and the knowledge of how the world works and of whom we, as humans are through reality and the world we live in meanwhile, Theology is the study of God and religion which happens to be completely different with how philosophy views God and religion. For example, in math class students demonstrate sentence fluency when they explain their reasoning while solving problems. In science class, students practice and use the convention trait when applying formulas and assigning units of measurements, the same way they use grammar and punctuation in English classes.
