Exploring A Cardiologist
A cardiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions involving the
cardiovascular system. This includes functions of the blood vessels, arteries, and heart. Cardiologists

A cardiologist will typically perform diagnostic tests on a patient in order to accurately evaluate their
heart health. Some cardiologist doctors are also equipped to perform minor surgical procedures.
The heart is the most important muscle in the body so it s imperative that a person takes the
appropriate steps to keep it healthy and functioning properly. A person shouldn t wait until they have a
heart condition to see a cardiologist.

The Effect Of Magnetic Organizer On Young Older Audience
Review of Literature Target Audience The Magnetic Organizer will appeal to a young older audience.
Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The
Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving
folders, papers, or homework somewhere are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can
be used by both amateurs and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a
professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed
to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is
placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without
much previous knowledge on how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick.
Similar Products Many common products meet the need as the magnetic organizer. One of the most
common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the Magnetic Organizer,
although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside down, and can cause much stress if done
on accident. Another downside to folder is there small size can cause us to regard our attention to
larger objects, causing the possibility of forgetting the folder somewhere. Another product is named a
bin. A bin can be used to store many items and papers, although it may not always be very portable,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Millennials
The Great Recession was an economic crisis that caused the housing market to crash, and many
people suffered greatly because of this event. The generation to feel the recession s effects the worst
though was the Millennials, people born from around 1981 to 1997. Many Millennials became
unemployed and where scared from this event, causing them to lean heavily on the government for
support. Today, Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Echo Boomers, are marked by their
increase in the use of social media and other communication devices to stay with the advancing times,
however the economic troubles have stayed with them despite the generation s growing use of
technology. Millennials have been late to buy houses compared to other generations, and this is due to
the Great Recession. Buying a house has many advantages and disadvantages, however buying one
later seems to be hurting the Echo Boomers. The benefits of buying a house stretch far beyond simply
having a private place to stay; a house has many economic benefits as well. Most things that people
buy, like cars or phones, depreciate in value, meaning that the longer a person keeps the item, the
more its value will decrease. On the other hand, a house appreciates with time, meaning its value
grows as more time passes, making buying a house a sound and smart investment. Even if a person
did not want to keep their house, they can typically sell the house for more than they bought it for.
Furthermore, houses bring financial stability that many other living arrangements cannot provide for
residents. When someone buys a house, he or she normally goes to a bank, takes out a loan, and uses
the loan with some of their own cash to ease the burden of their purchase, and afterwards, the person
must pay back the loan in amounts called mortgages. These mortgages are regular payments of a
fraction of the loan, and the amount does not fluctuate much, allowing the owner to know ahead of
time what the next payment will be. Rent payments may shift drastically from one payment to another,
and this may surprise the renter if they are not prepared like the homeowner. Also, owning a house
give the owner tax deductions, which can further help a person manage their

Outline and assess the view that crime and deviance are...
Outline and assess the view that crime and deviance are socially constructed There has been a pleather
of research regarding the issue of crime and deviance. A definition of crime and deviance can be
explained in relative terms which are dependant on any particular society s interpretation of crime and
deviance. Cultures differ from one society to another and the general consensus of right and wrong
can also evolve throughout time. Definitions of crime and deviance can evolve with factors such as
time, pace and society. However the general definition of crime is that its an act that breaks the law
and deviance refers to behaviour that most people see as differing from acceptable social norms or
standards of society. The purpose of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The criminal justice system judges and punishes each group differently. Karl Marx and max Webber
both agree that the wealthy were able to dominate definitions of what counts as normality and
deviance. The elite can often afford expensive lawyers and are sometimes on a first name basis with
the individuals in charge of making and enforcing laws. Members of the working class generally do
not have these advantages. Feminists are also a conflict theory. They argue that in patriarchal societies,
males define what is normal, and therefore define deviant female behaviour. Many feminists view that
female crime has been virtually ignored by mainstream criminology and mainstream feminists have
asserted that if females were socialized in the same way as males had similar roles and experiences,
their rates of criminal offending would be roughly the same. There are criticisms of the Interactionists
view of crime and deviance. One criticism of the Interactionists perspective is the fact that it fails to
explain why individuals commit deviant acts in the first place. Another criticism assumes that once a
person has been labelled, the deviance will inevitably become worse. A Final criticism is that
Interactions fail to explain why some people should be labelled rather than others and why some
activities are against the law, and others are not. This approach suggests that crime and deviance are
invented by people

John Coleman And The Rock House Essay
John Coleman Boyd was born March 16, 1802. He settled in Chambers County, Alabama. He
purchased land that was previously held by they Creek Indians and built a house. The original house
was built with native fieldstone by slave labor. The home was known as the Rock House. Under the
rock rooms there was room to store fruit, vegetables, and other produce. There was a smoke house for
curing and preserving meat products. These were all a necessity to survive. In the grove there were log
cabins that were the slave quarters. Today all that remains of the cabins is a lone chimney. John
Coleman Boyd had about 1,900 acres and he acquired other properties. After looking in further it was
shown that John Coleman s total estate was valued at $88,000 and that he owned 42 slaves. John
Coleman told a good friend Sam Jeter that a man should not stay in one place too long. Because of this
John Coleman went to Northeast Texas there he purchased some land. He made his decision to move
to Texas, he got the wagon train to be loaded and ready to leave. The night before they were going to
leave John Coleman suffered a stroke. During his illness John Coleman continued to manage his Boyd
Tank properties by having some slaves pull him around the farm in a rickshaw type cart. During his
illness his wife Elizabeth sold some of his properties in Texas. He later dies on March 2, 1861.
William Ewell Boyd was the first child of William and Mary Ann Boyd. He was born October 8,

Let me tell you my story as a person who is clinically diagnosed with Dependent personality disorder.
It was not until I reached my puberty that I noticed myself all the wonderful possibilities that could
happen to me if I don t avoid isolating myself with my own world. But first what is DPD? DPD
negatively impacts every facet of the lives of those suffering from it. Depending on others, feeling
helpless and wanting someone to do things for you is like a lifelong dilemma. Living in a People who

I didn t realize I am so dependent on my parents all my life, I thought they will always be on my back
to support, to make decisions and help me literally in everything. I can t even decide on things or what
I want without asking permission. I always rely on their decisions even though its oppose on what I m
really aiming for, and I think the possible reason why I am so dependent on my family is because I am
too afraid to talk and interact with people. I feel anxious when around with new people, for fear of
making a mistake and looking stupid. I also never thought, I was so dependent on my two best friends.
It s like all my life, I never thought I was so clingy and I depend on what others to say and never make
a decision in my life. I remember my psychiatrist once told me that I can help myself from thinking of
myself and focusing on new possibilities in my life, That is why after graduating in high school I
decided to make my life a little better, I told my parents if it is okay to not go to uni just for a mean
time. And believed me, that is the hardest decision I ve made in my life, but I want to discover what I
really wanted to in my life, I want to wonder and make sure to find my real calling, and also, I know
that people in college are not as shallow as in high school. But the real reason is, I wanted to learn to

Some definitions of the bildungsroman novel and its characteristics will be presented in the first
section of this paper. Then, in the second section, the two novels cited above will be analyzed
separately. The elements which make them be considered bildungsromane will be pointed out. Finally,
to conclude, the differences and similarities between them will be dealt with so that it will be clear in
what ways the bildungsroman differ in the two novels.
1 THE BILDUNGSROMAN NOVEL
This German term began to be used in the second half of the 18th century by the critic and philosopher
Wilhelm Dilthey. He stressed five main points about the bildungsroman novels:
(1) the idea of Bildung, or formation, cultivation, education, shaping of a single main character,
normally of a young man; (2) individualism, especially the emphasis on the uniqueness of the
protagonist and the primacy of his private life and thoughts, although these are at the same time
representative of an age and culture; (3) the biographical element, usually supplied from the author s
own life in what Dilthey calls the conscious and artistic presentation of what is typically human
through the depiction of a particular individual life ; (4) the

Puritans In John Winthrop s A Model Of Christian Charity
John Winthrop and the Puritans dared to make the dangerous journey across the Atlantic Ocean for
their religious beliefs. The journey was expected to be difficult and the new land was expected to be
unlike anything they had ever seen before. They were looking to become just the third group of people
to successfully make the trek to the new world. While on the ship destined for what is now known as
America, John Winthrop pulled all the Puritans together and delivered to them a speech bestowed
upon him from God. Winthrop s speech was later recorded and renamed A Model of Christian Charity
. Winthrop uses this sermon to motivate the Puritans as they head for the new world. Winthrop
persuades the Puritans to not worry about wealth, to love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the time that the Puritans would have in the new world, this was beautiful music to the Puritans
ears. Lastly, the Puritans lack of possessions would allow them to depend on one another much more
in the bonds of brotherly affection (Winthrop 148). Since the Puritans would have no possessions to
spend time on, they had more time to spend with one another, and thus depend on one another.
Through spending time with one another, the Puritans would build bonds and friendships that are
much better than any material possessions they could own. Through these points, Winthrop
encourages the Puritans to not become weary about their lack of wealth, but instead see their poor
souls as opportunities for God to work in their life. Winthrop was aware that as the Puritans headed to
the new world, they would have to be completely reliant on one another. Winthrop encourages the
Puritans to love their neighbors as themselves. Winthrop motivates the Puritans to love their enemies
and those who do them wrong. Through the words of Jesus, Winthrop encourages the Puritans to act in
the way of the golden rule (149). Winthrop calls the Puritans to go out of their way when others are in
distress or hurting no matter their social standing or friendship. The Puritans must be utterly reliant on
one another in this new world, and the only way for this to happen is by truly loving their

Conformity In Fahrenheit 451
What does it mean to live in a utopia? Some value life and world peace, while others emphasize
equality and conformity. One of Ray Bradbury s most famous books, Fahrenheit 451, takes place in a
much more advanced universe that appears vastly different from modern life, where society strives to
make everyone content by ridding the world of controversy. The setting of Fahrenheit 451 may seem
like a perfect world, but people are actually ignorant, mundane, and dissatisfied. Fahrenheit 451
features a futuristic dystopian American city during the 24th century, after the world has endured two
atomic wars. The country gained its superior position through appalling cruelty, and its people have
rejected thought, taking up destructive mind numbing pastimes.

Personality Analysis of Marilyn Monroe By Using Trait Theories Marilyn Monroe, whose real name is
Norma Jeane Mortenson, was born on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California. She was American
actress, singer and model. She also was one of the most famous movie star, the sex symbols and pop
icons of the 20th century. Despite her an unhappy, difficult childhood she got succeed during her short
life period. She worked minor roles for years. Then, she showed her comedy ability, appearance on
television and attraction with films. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Some

The most predominant features of Marilyn Monroe s personality can be explained by extraversion and
neuroticism with Eyesenk s model of personality. If they are explained in order, first of all, she was
extremely extroverted; she could easily carry on conversations with others despite her difficulty for
developing close relational ties. She was enthusiastic, talkative, social, assertive and motivated
woman. Her extraversion may also explain that why she is still remembered, talked and imitated
today. Secondly, Marilyn Monroe has severe neuroticism. People who score high on neuroticism tend
to be anxious, temperamental, self pitying, self conscious, emotional, and vulnerable to stress related
disorders (p.428 9). She had a tendency to experience negative, intense, puzzled feelings and was
inconsistent with her feelings. She was often very depressed and in bad mood. Because of these
reasons, she used drugs and alcohol. In these conditions, her childhood experiences may have a big
impact on her neurotic personality. Lack of unconditional love and support from her parents, her
mother s serious medical and psychological disorders, the state of being exploited by others may make
her more nervous, anxious, and emotional etc. Finally, I believe that psychoticism, which means being
antisocial, hostile and

Why Is William Kidd Alive
William Kidd
England in the 18th century, pirates were alive, and the british empire was expanding. There were
many new techniques that were brought in from immigrants that increased the productivity. Many
pirates sailed the waters in search for treasures.
Scotland 1654, William Kidd was born. Little did his parents know how big his future would be.
William grew up to be a pirate, Kidd and his crew set sail around England in the 1700 s. Kidd and his
crew attacked the Quedagh Merchant, a large American ship located on the Indian Ocean, he found
out he was on the wrong side of the british government. He was later hanged in London, 1707. Before
Kidd died he kept a journal about his life. I do not care so much for the death of my gunner, as for
other passages of my voyage, for i have good friends in England who will bring me off for that. Kidd

Over time he has gained way more popularity. Due to the treasure and his signal he has gained so
much popularity.
I think Kidd made a bad decision robbing the ship because it got him killed. If i were alive then or a
pirate then i would have not robbed the ship. If Kidd was alive now he probably wouldn t do a pirate,
due to the fact there aren t many pirates now days. If he lived in America then they wouldn t have
been able to rob the sip because they would be inlined with the American government.
In the book, the main character was a cabin boy while in real life Kidd was the captain. Kidd was very
famous and many people favored him. He was nice to everyone who was nice to him. The book and
Kidds life are kind of similar because they both sailed on ships. They both had a big crew, but in the
novel the pirates and british betrayed eachother while in real life Kidd and his crew worked together.
William Kidd was great pirate who died because of a dumb mistake he

Music Education At A Young Age
Today, school districts have been devaluing the importance of music. School districts are forced to cut
spending on music education and replace it with other important classes, such as physical education.
Music classes were the first to be cut because given a small to budget elementary schools, school
officials have seen that music classes were unnecessary to education and believe that it has no benefit.
I disagree with this statement because I believe it is crucial to have music education at a young age.
Luckily, when I was in elementary school, there was still music education and has influenced me to
become a musician because music has helped me with school and work. Having music education
allows a child s brain to develop a fully active brain, since music functions the creative side of the
brain. However, studies have shown that music has helped with the left side of the brain as well,
allowing students to build thinking skills and raise test scores such as the SAT. Music training at a
young age helps develop the brain areas that involves language and reasoning. Studies have shown
that music training develops the left side of the brain, which helps processing language and help
recognize patterns and memorization. It is also shown that the left side of the brain is better developed
with music and that can help retain new information in young minds. A good example of how music
helps with new information is the alphabet. The alphabet was taught to kids as a song and

Symptoms Of Stereotypes In The Black Swan
The Black Swan is a psychologically based thriller in which Nina, a dedicated ballerina who belongs
to a highly elite company in New York City, strives to one day become prima ballerina. She covets the
role of Swan Queen in her company s upcoming rendition of Swan Lake . As she is shy and innocent
in her demeanor, Nina is the epitome of the character of the White Swan. On the other hand, the part
of the Black Swan is seductive, dark, and passionate. The artistic director of the company, Thomas,
doubts her ability to embody both roles but through a shocking display of boldness by Nina, he
decides she is capable of taking on both roles, and awards her the part. The rest of the film is dedicated
to showing her insatiable dedication to achieve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most common symptoms associated with schizophrenia is delusions, or false beliefs bases
on incorrect inferences about reality. For example, Nina believes that Lily, a ballerina who is new to
the company, is trying to replace her and steal her role. This is an inaccurate belief because Lily never
displayed any motivation to steal the role and was also nothing but kind and friendly to Nina. Nina
also experiences hallucinations, which are another symptom commonly associated with this disorder.
Hallucinations are false sensory perceptions that are experienced without an external source. They can
be auditory, visual, olfactory, or somatosensory. In Nina s case, she experiences mostly visual and
somatosensory hallucinations such as seeing herself pull a feather out of her skin or her physical
transformation into the Black Swan when she perceives herself growing feathers and wings. While
genetics plays a role in the development of schizophrenia, we cannot come to the conclusion that
anyone in Nina s family was a schizophrenic or that it would be the sole cause of her developing the
disorder. Environmental stress is shown to also contribute to the development and Nina is overcome
with the pressure to achieve perfection and to uphold her company s reputation which creates an
atmosphere of extreme stress that she must cope with. There are both pharmacological and
psychosocial treatments for schizophrenia such as the drugs haloperidol and chlorpromazine and the
participation in social skills training; neither of these treatments were referenced in this film.
Schizophrenia is also commonly confused with dissociative identity disorder (DID), also referred to as
multiple personality disorder. This condition is the occurrence of two or more distinct identities in the
same person. Many people that are diagnosed with DID, report being abused in their

How Is A Fairy Tale Different From A Juvenile Fantasy...
How is a fairy tale different from a juvenile fantasy literature novel? Many times both the fairy tale
and the novel contain similar elements that make up a fairy tale, but why are they categorized
differently? Is it the length of the novel compared to the fairy tale? Or is it something else? According
to Crago, A fairy tale is a narrative form which represents a society s collective concerns with some
aspect of growing up, and it explores these concerns at the level of magical thought (176). The
juvenile fantasy literature novel, on the other hand, is a novel intended for a certain age group and that
is usually of more length than a fairy tale. The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley, Alice s Adventures
in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie, and the Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.
Frank Baum, all show different aspects of how a fairy tale transitions into a juvenile fantasy literature
novel.
The Water Babies is one novel that shows the transition from a fairy tale to a juvenile fantasy literature
novel. This novel is strongly didactic in that it contains many lessons for children. One of these
lessons is a generic one that most children learn, and that is to do unto others as you want to be
treated. However, Tom never learned this lesson though he learns it after he gets a pebble put into his
mouth by Mrs. Bedonebyasyoudid because he had played tricks on the sea anemones by putting
pebbles in the anemones mouths (Kingsley ch.5). This also leads into the

incredibly abstract and even humorous. The story is that of a man who transforms into a beetle within
one evening and who struggles to endure. Upon scrupulous analyses, several forms of parallelism are
evident within Kafka s short story, and Kafka s personal life is portrayed within The Metamorphosis in
a mild manner to those who do not appreciate deeper meaning. Kafka s antagonist in The
Metamorphosis mirrors Kafka himself. Franz Kafka battled his father and his mental well being whilst
living, and upon closer inspection of the short story, Gregor Samsa s image (physical and
psychological) reflects Kafka s demons. The writing of Franz Kafka is greatly influenced by both the
internal and the external struggles of his personal life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

father gave him a strong push from behind that was a truly liberating one, and , bleeding profusely, he

Trip To Ecuador Research Paper
The most impactful event in my life so far was the two week service trip I took to Ecuador with
Renbrook in june of 2015. It was a two week service trip in which we would be helping at medical
clinics and building wheelchair ramps for a school for disabled kids. I went into the trip having no
idea how much of an impact it would have on my life, and I definitely had no idea that I would create
strong bonds with people I had never even met. I came out of this trip a different person, a better
person.
The night before we left for ecuador we were invited to spend the night at Renbrook. That night was
the beginning to our bonding, we got pizza and watched a movie and everyone had a great time. Even
though we had an early morning flight the next day, we still stayed up until 12 because we were
having so much fun. The next morning was rough we had to wake up at 4 to drive to John F. Kennedy
airport. We took two flights one to Columbia and then one to Ecuador. When we got to ecuador we
first went to our hotel a small one but very nice considering we were in a third world country. For the
next week we would be bonding, going on bike rides, walking in caves, and white water rafting. The
first week was so fun and I learned so much about everyone on the trip including some new things
about myself. After the first week was over I was completely immersed in the ecuadorian culture and

The Sunni Shia Conflict Essay
Sunni Shia Conflict Syria is currently all over the news regarding what many have to come to see as a
civil war. A term like civil war needs to identify the players and the reasons for the war. In this case
the players are being identified as pro government or antigovernment with a Sunni or Shia overtone.
Sunni and Shia are the two major sects of Islam and both have a historical based conflict going back to
the death of the Prophet Muhammad and how Muslims should be governed. This conflict has caused
tensions and violence to flare up throughout Islamic history. This conflict has carried into modern
times and has becoming a rallying point for Muslim people calling for change with their government
and across the Middle Eastern region. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ali s son Husayn was sought out and asked to lead a revolt against the Uyammad s. When Husayn set
out on his journey to overthrow Yazid, the current caliph, his supporters failed to join his band.
Husayn and 72 of his followers were killed on the plains of Karbala, Iraq. Thus the Shi at Ali (Party of
Ali) or Shia sect of Islam was born (Egger 2004). The Sunni sect would continue to support what they
saw as the traditional path of Islam. From this initial split other divisions and changes occurred within
the religious practices and laws of Islam. While both share a belief in the Qur an and the sunna
(sayings or actions) of the Prophet Muhammad there are religious and legal differences. Imams are by
the Shia definition the divinely guided ones but the Sunni defines Imaans as saints (Diffen n.d.). The
Shia declared Ali and his descendants Imams with a special connection to the will of God with
religious and legal authorities. The number of Imams and who were truly the divinely guided Imams
would split Shias. There arose many branches but it came down to three main ones the Twelvers, the
Seveners, and Zayids (Goldschmidt Jr. 2013). The Imams were mystical beings and the Twelvers
believe that the 12th Imam disappeared and will one day return to set thing right for Muslims. Within
the Sunni sect there are four branches of Islamic Law:

Even in a globalized world of countries that are interdependent on one another, there still is progress

Continuing my run, I reached the Ganges River, and surprisingly found my cousin, Archit, there. He is

although with India s politics it seems the majority of people want progress. Progress for small

I felt obligated to represent my country as best I could, remarking on how Canadian businesses like

Essay on Sigmund Freud s Ego Defense Mechanisms
Sigmund Freud is perhaps one of the most well known theorists in regards to the study of the human
psyche. Freud s model of the human psyche is comprised of three core elements: the Id, or the
unconscious mind; things out of our awareness. The
Superego, or the subconscious mind, and finally the Ego, which lies between the unconscious and
subconscious. Freud proposes that there are nine ego defense mechanisms that act the ego uses in its
job as the mediator between the id and the superego. In psychoanalysis, an ego defense mechanism is
an unconscious personality reaction that the ego uses to protect our conscious mind from threatening
feelings or perceptions.

If I m planning to do something but something else comes up, I may try and rationalize the decision
by putting down the other option weather is going to be bad , I didn t really want to do that anyway ,

a certain type of film or genre of music, but when American pop culture is rife with that type of music

fine, as long as I don t indulge . Displacement is another defense mechanism I ve noticed. If I m

undeserving people. Often I would use an angry tone with someone if I d just been in an argument, as
my anger has not yet subsided. As with everything, everything in moderation . I believe ego defense
mechanisms are not completely unhealthy, and that using them to deal with some situations can prove
to be beneficial in the development of our personality. However, if one relies primarily on ego defense
mechanisms and refuses to deal with circumstances head on , they will develop problems later in life.

Testosterone In Sports
People are a normally aggressive animal varieties. For whatever length of time that we have had
games to contend in, competitors have attempted a wide range of things to be the best. Competitors
have utilized different substances and mixtures to enhance athletic execution since the start of human
advancement. The old Greeks ate sesame seeds, the Australian natives bit the pituri plant, Norse
warriors ate stimulating mushrooms, and old societies around the globe had comparative customs.
In the 1860s, a gathering of swimmers in Amsterdam were accused of taking medications to accelerate
their races. For the following 80 years or somewhere in the vicinity, competitors who needed to cheat

In 1935, the male hormone testosterone was initially incorporated. Amid World War II, German

Graphic Violence In Quentin Tarantino
Graphic violence is an inescapable and ubiquitous characteristic of contemporary cinema (Prince 1).
This quote by Stephen Prince in his book Graphic Violence in the Cinema: Origins, Aesthetic Design,
and Social Effects almost perfectly embodies the spirit of Quentin Tarantino movies. Although most
movies contain some sort of violence, Tarantino involves it in a way like no other filmmaker; it is
described as an adrenaline shot as well as keeping humor a part of the violence. Unlike classical films,
Quentin Tarantino holds nothing back in showing gore and blood, all the while using it as a narrative
device throughout the film.
As the adrenaline shot was punched into Mia Wallace s chest by Jules in Tarantino s movie Pulp
Fiction, audiences were transitioned from an almost stressful and melancholy scene to being thrown
into the blatant violence of the adrenaline shot being punched into Mia s chest. This is where
Tarantino s adrenaline shot was originally coined. Tarantino is defined as using his adrenaline shot by
having an almost ordinary scene be quickly cut to short scenes of violence. For example, in Pulp
Fiction, he uses it for the scene when Buck goes back to his house to get his watch and finds Jules in
the house with him. The scene goes quickly from Jules walking out of the bathroom, to the toaster
pastry jumping out of the toaster, to Buck massacring Vincent with his Uzi machine gun. This how a
prime example of how Tarantino depicts violence in his movies.

Speech On Superstition
Introduction
Religion, Devotion and Love for God is great and should be followed as a personal belief, but
Superstition is the black market practice in the field of devotion and should be strongly deterred
A nation that endeavors to be a superpower and wants to join the league of global leaders in
knowledge, science and technology should declare a revolution to eradicate all ills like superstition
and black magic at all levels from its very roots.
If we look at India, one might argue that India being a land of villages and snake charmers is not free
from the evils of superstition, witch hunting, black magic, exorcism and the like. The number of
superstitions and blind beliefs in India is very large as the Indian social fabric is made of people

No religion ordains or justifies black magic, superstition, human sacrifice, witchcraft or any kind of
occult practices. Any resistance to superstition or black magic should not be construed as anti religion
or against the freedom to practice religion which is provided as a fundamental right under the
Constitution. One can be faithful to one s religion of choice without being superstitious. In India,
superstition is part of the traditional fabric; hence tougher laws are considered antithetical to our
cultural ethos.
The problem arises when religion becomes a tool of money making and dupery in the hands of vested
interests to propagate or promote superstition and irrational practices such as predictive powers to
parrots and other animals, exorcist powers to tantriks and Fathers, etc. It becomes a serious issue when
a so called cure is considered a miracle and is attributed to a deity or a living person like the so called

Analysis Of White Kids
Sadie Mazur

Appropriative Identities in Youth Culture
In Mary Bucholtz book White Kids, she discusses the stature of whiteness in the United States as
hegemonic, unmarked, and culturally absent, making it situational and unstable. Bucholtz suggests
that to counteract that, the students she studied in her field work adopted many different identities and
identifiers, such as levels of popularity and racial backgrounds, the use of language, and the physical
styles with one chooses to present.
One identifying marker the students use is slang. Linguists define slang as a youth dominated, rapidly
changing lexicon associated with casual social contexts, but a nonlinguistic view frames slang as an
illegitimate linguistic variety. The latter definition is inaccurate because these varieties have strict
grammatical rules and are only illegitimate to the uneducated eye. Furthermore, calling slang
illegitimate is disrespectful because it disregards the users of such language as inferior, therefore
rendering them powerless. This disrespect is often aimed at the African American community, whose
usage of AAVE is highly stigmatized. Slang, as a whole, is a shared youth identity in that everyone
regardless of race or social status uses it; however, much of slang is available only to a certain group
of people. Slang can be involved in processes of adequation or distinction, making its usage
contentious or socially risky depending on what person used

The Things They Carried Courage Analysis
The Things They Carried, a fiction novel by Tim O Brien, carries courage throughout the stories he
tells by describing what it takes to be a soldier in Vietnam. Through burning the pictures and letters
from a loved one, to seeing a friend s remains in a tree, and carrying on despite witnessing a friend
die, right before him, O Brien allows the reader to witness the true courage needed to be a soldier.
Being courageous is what holds these men together and makes every one of these stories string
together and relate to one another. Much like soldiers, these stories build each other up and amplify
their effects together. Tim O Brien represents how people coming from different places experience the
same need to be courageous during a time of war in the fiction novel The Things They Carried by Tim
O Brien. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross carries courage. Unseemingly so, giving up someone he loves
makes him the most courageous character in The Things They Carried. Martha, the woman whom he
loves, is the most important thing back home, to him. He would imagine romantic camping trips into
the White Mountains in New Hampshire. He would sometimes taste the envelope flaps, knowing he
tongue had been there. (1). This quote explains just how much Jimmy Cross loves Martha and he
dreams about her everyday, Cross cares so much about Martha, the girl he fell in love with back at
home. After fellow soldier Ted Lavender dies while Cross is daydreaming about Martha, he makes the
honorary decision to

Greek Vs Iliad
Evidence of war exists beyond written records, found buried under earth in piles of broken ancient
cities and human made weapons. Throughout the history of man, war has occurred between all types
of developed and undeveloped civilizations. Even between thousands of years apart, the Israelites and
the Greeks both have an established record of war, each interlacing gods and humans within their
histories. Yet regardless of how war has been repeated throughout history, its effect and portrayal in
literature shows great diversity; the relationships between deities and mortals as well as the portrayal
of fighting written in the Tanakh and The Iliad differ tremendously. The Homeric world illustrates the
humanizing aspect of both the Greeks and the Trojans fighting in a war led by human conflicts, while
the biblical world portrays the one sided annihilation of nonbelievers and foreigners, in wars driven by
God s command.
The two pieces of literature differ in the relationship between the gods or God s and the people in war.
The Trojan War itself symbolizes the preserving of Menelaus honor and calls upon other Greek kings
to defend their oath regarding Helen s abduction; in short a war called forth by mortal conflicts.

Taking a Look at Sexual Education
Sexual education is first and foremost related to sex and sexuality issues. So in order to better
understand the case of sexual education, it is important to review the development of the concepts sex
and sexuality within the social sciences and humanities. For centuries, sexuality has been silenced
product of human activity (Rubin, 1984, p.143). However, the XX and XXI centuries have become the
periods of sexual revolutions, when sexuality has been transformed from private sphere to the public
one. It has become the part of the modern art, has started to be regarded as a political issue especially
in the discussions about women empowerment, and has become the part of one s identity (Epanova,
2011). The theoretical explanations of sexuality within the social sciences and humanities illustrate
this transition of sexuality from being the natural and private thing to the constructed and public one.
Sexology, one of the first theoretical explanations of sexuality, was established in the beginning of the
XX century. According to the majority of sexologists, sexuality and sex are natural and given things.
In addition, sex is considered as the fundamental need of all human beings, which affects all the
spheres of people s activities, starting from physical to psychological ones. Moreover, the sexologists
view only heterosexual sex as natural sex, because only through such form of sex, it can become
reproductive and fulfill its important function (ibid.). However, there

The Adoption Of Electronic Health Records
According to a survey from SK A, after an initial migration to health IT solutions, practice owners
adoption of electronic health records (EHR) has plateaued with only about a 2.8% increase from
January 2014 to January 2015. The survey found that overall adoption by physicians is 62.8%, and
that, in general, the larger the practice, the (not surprisingly) higher the adoption rates, with 77.2% of
docs at medical groups of 25 or more members using EHRs this is compared to only 54.5% of solo
practitioners adopting the technology. Why the Drop in Adoption Rates? Other survey findings clearly
illustrate the fact that while EHRs do come with benefits, most are not embraced by physicians
because of their lack of functionality and difficulty of use. According to this survey , overall provider
satisfaction with EHRs has declined by almost 30% over the past five years. Conducted by the
American Medical Association and American EHR Partners, the survey questioned 940 practice
owners about their level of satisfaction with their EHR. What was interesting right off the bat about
these findings was that only 34% of physicians said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their
EHR systems compared to 61% of respondents who were satisfied only five years ago. The survey
also found: 42% of physicians described their EHR s ability to improve efficiency as difficult or very
difficult. 43% said they were consistently challenged with their EHR s ability to address productivity.

The Effect Of Atmospheric Pressure On A Cloud
This experiment will be highlighting the significance of atmospheric pressure in a cloud`s formation.
Clouds form when warm, moist air rises in the atmosphere. On its way up, it cools so that the water
vapor condenses into small particles such as airborne dust, thereby forming water droplets. This is
exactly what a cloud is, a large collection of very tiny droplets of water or ice crystals. This process is
known as cloud formation and is affected by temperature since clouds are occasionally produced by
the mixing of warmer and cooler air currents. This process is part of the water cycle which is the
transfer of water from air, sea land and water in a cycle. Overall, this paper will be explaining the
materials and methods that will end up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a cloud is water vapor, and vapor has weight, why does it float in the air? Well, according to
columnist Adams, a modest size cloud, has a mass equivalent to one B 747 jumbo jet, but the cloud`s
mass is spread over a big volume of space which causes the density of it to be relatively low.
Furthermore, the process of condensation is essential to the water cycle since it is responsible for the
formation of a cloud which creates precipitation that allows water to return to the planet`s surface,
thus letting the cycle to continue. In order to form a cloud, there are three requirements which,
according to Oklahoma Project, are essential. First, water vapor must be present in large amounts.
Secondly, cloud condensation nuclei such as dust or salt particles must be present in order to provide a
basement for water to condense. Lastly, a cooling mechanism must be present to cool the air
temperature to a certain point, allowing clouds to form.
Based on all these information, my specific question that I hope this experiment answers is: What role
does air pressure as well as temperature plays on the biological process known as cloud condensation?
My hypothesis consists of understanding these factors. If water vapor attaches to particles such as

Reflection Report On Roller Coasters
The roller coaster that we created was a chance for us, physics students, to work together, be creative,
and resilient if any problem were to show up. The first day that we worked on the sketch for the roller
coaster, our group was off to a good start because we all agreed with the design and the theme. It did
take about 2 3 days to start the actual model because on the first days we didn t have any materials
apart from the cardboard that Mr. Hueyopa had given us. The theme that we chose was Star Wars, it
was alright but as long as we were all able to contribute, we were hoping to do a pretty good job. The
Friday from the first week of the project, we all brought in our materials. We bought the pipe
insulators, one each. Unfortunately, with all the material that we had available at the time, it wasn t

which honestly didn t come out as we had expected it to be. I was also in charge of completing the
label report for the roller coaster. I do regret not starting on it a ... Show more content on

would also like to point out that sometimes our roller coaster was knocked over or some parts were
not the same as we had left them the day before but that was probably because everyone was walking
around and we had a limited amount of space to work on our

  • 3. The Effect Of Magnetic Organizer On Young Older Audience Review of Literature Target Audience The Magnetic Organizer will appeal to a young older audience. Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving folders, papers, or homework somewhere are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can be used by both amateurs and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without much previous knowledge on how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick. Similar Products Many common products meet the need as the magnetic organizer. One of the most common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the Magnetic Organizer, although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside down, and can cause much stress if done on accident. Another downside to folder is there small size can cause us to regard our attention to larger objects, causing the possibility of forgetting the folder somewhere. Another product is named a bin. A bin can be used to store many items and papers, although it may not always be very portable, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Millennials The Great Recession was an economic crisis that caused the housing market to crash, and many people suffered greatly because of this event. The generation to feel the recession s effects the worst though was the Millennials, people born from around 1981 to 1997. Many Millennials became unemployed and where scared from this event, causing them to lean heavily on the government for support. Today, Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Echo Boomers, are marked by their increase in the use of social media and other communication devices to stay with the advancing times, however the economic troubles have stayed with them despite the generation s growing use of technology. Millennials have been late to buy houses compared to other generations, and this is due to the Great Recession. Buying a house has many advantages and disadvantages, however buying one later seems to be hurting the Echo Boomers. The benefits of buying a house stretch far beyond simply having a private place to stay; a house has many economic benefits as well. Most things that people buy, like cars or phones, depreciate in value, meaning that the longer a person keeps the item, the more its value will decrease. On the other hand, a house appreciates with time, meaning its value grows as more time passes, making buying a house a sound and smart investment. Even if a person did not want to keep their house, they can typically sell the house for more than they bought it for. Furthermore, houses bring financial stability that many other living arrangements cannot provide for residents. When someone buys a house, he or she normally goes to a bank, takes out a loan, and uses the loan with some of their own cash to ease the burden of their purchase, and afterwards, the person must pay back the loan in amounts called mortgages. These mortgages are regular payments of a fraction of the loan, and the amount does not fluctuate much, allowing the owner to know ahead of time what the next payment will be. Rent payments may shift drastically from one payment to another, and this may surprise the renter if they are not prepared like the homeowner. Also, owning a house give the owner tax deductions, which can further help a person manage their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Outline and assess the view that crime and deviance are socially constructed There has been a pleather of research regarding the issue of crime and deviance. A definition of crime and deviance can be explained in relative terms which are dependant on any particular society s interpretation of crime and deviance. Cultures differ from one society to another and the general consensus of right and wrong can also evolve throughout time. Karl Marx and max Webber both agree that the wealthy were able to dominate definitions of what counts as normality and deviance. The elite can often afford expensive lawyers and are sometimes on a first name basis with the individuals in charge of making and enforcing laws. Members of the working class generally do not have these advantages. Feminists are also a conflict theory. They argue that in patriarchal societies, males define what is normal, and therefore define deviant female behaviour. Many feminists view that female crime has been virtually ignored by mainstream criminology and mainstream feminists have asserted that if females were socialized in the same way as males had similar roles and experiences, their rates of criminal offending would be roughly the same. There are criticisms of the Interactionists view of crime and deviance. One criticism of the Interactionists perspective is the fact that it fails to explain why individuals commit deviant acts in the first place. Another criticism assumes that once a person has been labelled, the deviance will inevitably become worse. A Final criticism is that Interactions fail to explain why some people should be labelled rather than others and why some activities are against the law, and others are not. This approach suggests that crime and deviance are invented by people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, Nina believes that Lily, a ballerina who is new to the company, is trying to replace her and steal her role. This is an inaccurate belief because Lily never displayed any motivation to steal the role and was also nothing but kind and friendly to Nina. Nina also experiences hallucinations, which are another symptom commonly associated with this disorder. Hallucinations are false sensory perceptions that are experienced without an external source. They can be auditory, visual, olfactory, or somatosensory. In Nina s case, she experiences mostly visual and somatosensory hallucinations such as seeing herself pull a feather out of her skin or her physical transformation into the Black Swan when she perceives herself growing feathers and wings. While genetics plays a role in the development of schizophrenia, we cannot come to the conclusion that anyone in Nina s family was a schizophrenic or that it would be the sole cause of her developing the disorder. Environmental stress is shown to also contribute to the development and Nina is overcome with the pressure to achieve perfection and to uphold her company s reputation which creates an atmosphere of extreme stress that she must cope with. Many times both the fairy tale and the novel contain similar elements that make up a fairy tale, but why are they categorized differently? Is it the length of the novel compared to the fairy tale? Or is it something else? According to Crago, A fairy tale is a narrative form which represents a society s collective concerns with some aspect of growing up, and it explores these concerns at the level of magical thought (176). The juvenile fantasy literature novel, on the other hand, is a novel intended for a certain age group and that is usually of more length than a fairy tale. The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley, Alice s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie, and the Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, all show different aspects of how a fairy tale transitions into a juvenile fantasy literature novel. The Water Babies is one novel that shows the transition from a fairy tale to a juvenile fantasy literature novel. This novel is strongly didactic in that it contains many lessons for children. • 25. Essay on Sigmund Freud s Ego Defense Mechanisms Sigmund Freud is perhaps one of the most well known theorists in regards to the study of the human psyche. Freud s model of the human psyche is comprised of three core elements: the Id, or the unconscious mind; things out of our awareness. The Superego, or the subconscious mind, and finally the Ego, which lies between the unconscious and subconscious. Freud proposes that there are nine ego defense mechanisms that act the ego uses in its job as the mediator between the id and the superego. I believe ego defense mechanisms are not completely unhealthy, and that using them to deal with some situations can prove to be beneficial in the development of our personality. • 29. Graphic Violence In Quentin Tarantino Graphic violence is an inescapable and ubiquitous characteristic of contemporary cinema (Prince 1). This quote by Stephen Prince in his book Graphic Violence in the Cinema: Origins, Aesthetic Design, and Social Effects almost perfectly embodies the spirit of Quentin Tarantino movies. Although most movies contain some sort of violence, Tarantino involves it in a way like no other filmmaker; it is described as an adrenaline shot as well as keeping humor a part of the violence. Unlike classical films, Quentin Tarantino holds nothing back in showing gore and blood, all the while using it as a narrative device throughout the film. As the adrenaline shot was punched into Mia Wallace s chest by Jules in Tarantino s movie Pulp Fiction, audiences were transitioned from an almost stressful and melancholy scene to being thrown into the blatant violence of the adrenaline shot being punched into Mia s chest. This is where Tarantino s adrenaline shot was originally coined. Tarantino is defined as using his adrenaline shot by having an almost ordinary scene be quickly cut to short scenes of violence. For example, in Pulp Fiction, he uses it for the scene when Buck goes back to his house to get his watch and finds Jules in the house with him. The scene goes quickly from Jules walking out of the bathroom, to the toaster pastry jumping out of the toaster, to Buck massacring Vincent with his Uzi machine gun. This how a prime example of how Tarantino depicts violence in his movies. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Analysis Of White Kids Sadie Mazur Anthro 105 Rosa November 21, 2014 Appropriative Identities in Youth Culture In Mary Bucholtz book White Kids, she discusses the stature of whiteness in the United States as hegemonic, unmarked, and culturally absent, making it situational and unstable. Bucholtz suggests that to counteract that, the students she studied in her field work adopted many different identities and identifiers, such as levels of popularity and racial backgrounds, the use of language, and the physical styles with one chooses to present. One identifying marker the students use is slang. Linguists define slang as a youth dominated, rapidly changing lexicon associated with casual social contexts, but a nonlinguistic view frames slang as an illegitimate linguistic variety. The latter definition is inaccurate because these varieties have strict grammatical rules and are only illegitimate to the uneducated eye. Furthermore, calling slang illegitimate is disrespectful because it disregards the users of such language as inferior, therefore rendering them powerless. This disrespect is often aimed at the African American community, whose usage of AAVE is highly stigmatized. Slang, as a whole, is a shared youth identity in that everyone regardless of race or social status uses it; however, much of slang is available only to a certain group of people. Slang can be involved in processes of adequation or distinction, making its usage contentious or socially risky depending on what person used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being courageous is what holds these men together and makes every one of these stories string together and relate to one another. Yet regardless of how war has been repeated throughout history, its effect and portrayal in literature shows great diversity; the relationships between deities and mortals as well as the portrayal of fighting written in the Tanakh and The Iliad differ tremendously. The Homeric world illustrates the humanizing aspect of both the Greeks and the Trojans fighting in a war led by human conflicts, while the biblical world portrays the one sided annihilation of nonbelievers and foreigners, in wars driven by God s command. The two pieces of literature differ in the relationship between the gods or God s and the people in war. • 37. Taking a Look at Sexual Education Sexual education is first and foremost related to sex and sexuality issues. So in order to better understand the case of sexual education, it is important to review the development of the concepts sex and sexuality within the social sciences and humanities. For centuries, sexuality has been silenced product of human activity (Rubin, 1984, p.143). However, the XX and XXI centuries have become the periods of sexual revolutions, when sexuality has been transformed from private sphere to the public one. It has become the part of the modern art, has started to be regarded as a political issue especially in the discussions about women empowerment, and has become the part of one s identity (Epanova, 2011). The theoretical explanations of sexuality within the social sciences and humanities illustrate this transition of sexuality from being the natural and private thing to the constructed and public one. Sexology, one of the first theoretical explanations of sexuality, was established in the beginning of the XX century. According to the majority of sexologists, sexuality and sex are natural and given things. In addition, sex is considered as the fundamental need of all human beings, which affects all the spheres of people s activities, starting from physical to psychological ones. Moreover, the sexologists view only heterosexual sex as natural sex, because only through such form of sex, it can become reproductive and fulfill its important function (ibid.). However, there ... The Adoption Of Electronic Health Records According to a survey from SK A, after an initial migration to health IT solutions, practice owners adoption of electronic health records (EHR) has plateaued with only about a 2.8% increase from January 2014 to January 2015. The survey found that overall adoption by physicians is 62.8%, and that, in general, the larger the practice, the (not surprisingly) higher the adoption rates, with 77.2% of docs at medical groups of 25 or more members using EHRs this is compared to only 54.5% of solo practitioners adopting the technology. Why the Drop in Adoption Rates? Other survey findings clearly illustrate the fact that while EHRs do come with benefits, most are not embraced by physicians because of their lack of functionality and difficulty of use. According to this survey , overall provider satisfaction with EHRs has declined by almost 30% over the past five years. Conducted by the American Medical Association and American EHR Partners, the survey questioned 940 practice owners about their level of satisfaction with their EHR. What was interesting right off the bat about these findings was that only 34% of physicians said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their EHR systems compared to 61% of respondents who were satisfied only five years ago. The survey also found: 42% of physicians described their EHR s ability to improve efficiency as difficult or very difficult. 43% said they were consistently challenged with their EHR s ability to address productivity. ... • 40. The Effect Of Atmospheric Pressure On A Cloud This experiment will be highlighting the significance of atmospheric pressure in a cloud`s formation. Clouds form when warm, moist air rises in the atmosphere. On its way up, it cools so that the water vapor condenses into small particles such as airborne dust, thereby forming water droplets. This is exactly what a cloud is, a large collection of very tiny droplets of water or ice crystals. This process is known as cloud formation and is affected by temperature since clouds are occasionally produced by the mixing of warmer and cooler air currents. This process is part of the water cycle which is the transfer of water from air, sea land and water in a cycle. Overall, this paper will be explaining the materials and methods that will end up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a cloud is water vapor, and vapor has weight, why does it float in the air? Well, according to columnist Adams, a modest size cloud, has a mass equivalent to one B 747 jumbo jet, but the cloud`s mass is spread over a big volume of space which causes the density of it to be relatively low. Furthermore, the process of condensation is essential to the water cycle since it is responsible for the formation of a cloud which creates precipitation that allows water to return to the planet`s surface, thus letting the cycle to continue. In order to form a cloud, there are three requirements which, according to Oklahoma Project, are essential. First, water vapor must be present in large amounts. Secondly, cloud condensation nuclei such as dust or salt particles must be present in order to provide a basement for water to condense. Lastly, a cooling mechanism must be present to cool the air temperature to a certain point, allowing clouds to form. Based on all these information, my specific question that I hope this experiment answers is: What role does air pressure as well as temperature plays on the biological process known as cloud condensation? My hypothesis consists of understanding these factors. If water vapor attaches to particles such as smoke, together with a specific temperature, then the process of condensation will allow a cloud to be formed.
