The Similarities And Differences Of Religion, Judaism And...
Belief, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary, is a strong feeling that something or someone exists or is
true, confidence that something or someone is good or right. Religions based on monotheism just have
one god. Some of the religions based on monotheism are Judaism, Zoroastrianism, and Atenism.
These three monotheistic religions have some differences and similarities.
First, according to primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk, Jewish history begins with the covenant established
between God and Abraham around 1812 BC, during the Bronze Age, in the Middle East. Abraham is
considered as the father of the family of Jews. Moses is also an important figure as he gave the Jews
the Torah around 1250 B.C. The Torah contains the laws of God. . Judaism is the culture of the Jews.
This religion was originated in the land of Palestine in the middle east. Since the Jews have been
migrating around the world, their religion has been growing over time. There is something difficult to
believe. Judaism has no dogma, no formal arrangement of convictions that one must hold to be a Jew.
In Judaism, activities are much more essential than convictions, although there is surely a place for
conviction inside Judaism. Dissimilar to numerous different religions, Judaism does not concentrate
much on conceptual cosmological ideas. Although Jews have surely considered ideas of God, man, the
universe, life, and life following death at awesome length, there is no conclusive conviction regarding
these matters,

What Is A Reflection In Strategic Leadership
A reflection in Strategic Leadership Before coming to USAWC I think that my experience and
knowledge gained during the twenty five years of service is an important quality to possess. At one
point I thought: A few years until retirement, and probably no special secrets for me to discover during
the academic year. I can only confirm existing knowledge, gained some new and meet an interesting
people before returning home . Much to my surprise, already after the first reading and discussion at
the seminar, I realize that this will be more interesting than I had hoped. The first lessons were related
to leadership and I was wondering what s new here. I thought I knew a theory about leadership. After
all, I am an author of a document about the leadership in SAF.
But, the first readings, seminar dialogues and discussions are shedding new light on my thinking about
leadership in general, my knowledge and experience, traits, values and shortcomings. Thanks to the
readings and discussions in outstanding environment I become aware of what one colonel told to me:
This is going to be the best year of your career . It looks like he s going to be right. Next academic
year is a great opportunity for me to build strategic leadership competencies and achieve outcomes of
USAWC s curriculum.
According to given task and my aspiration in the future, I will attempt to express my reflection in two
of four mission specific outcomes based on GEN Powell s autobiography: strategic leaders and

Jacksonville Florida Community Health Center
Community health centers play a critical role in providing health and social services to low income
and medically underserved communities. Health centers capacity to give far reaching essential care
and enhance access to superb care while holding down social insurance cost development has been
recorded. As health reform goads coverage extension and endeavors to enhance quality, the country s
dependence on health centers is prone to develop. In the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Congress
contributed $11 billion to the growth of community health centers program for the next five years. The
idea is to widen access of care in lower income communities as coverage extends. As policymakers
and others gear up for ACA execution, understanding the part ... Show more content on

The black populations make up most of those who have died with 215.2 % for heart disease, 177.4%
for cancer, 51.7% for stroke and 45.7% for diabetes. Duval County also has a high number of
HIV/AIDS cases with 22.5% versus the state high of 14.8%. For the many community health centers
throughout Jacksonville, Florida the data provided is alarming when it comes to the health of the
community. Many of these numbers are so high due to the different barriers that makes it difficult for
many to seek proper and adequate care from their local community health centers. Many of these
barriers include low income, lack of insurance, not enough providers and no transportation. Florida
health centers also faces a unique challenge with reaching special populations . These groups include
families and individuals who are homeless, immigrants who are undocumented and their dependents,
individuals in public housing and Native Americans. These groups also have to deal with the

Being Godless Wastelands Are Wrong
Throughout this world we call Earth, there aren t many regions or continents that we humans call
home that don t have a desert biome, they existence on almost every continent. According to the
Conserve Energy Future or CEF, Deserts cover about twenty percent of our earth , (Rinkesh,n.d).
When the word Desert comes to mind you think of a hot, and lifeless wasteland that takes. However, I
believe the stereotypical thought of Deserts being godless wastelands are wrong. I believe it is actually
just a functioning, flushing environment just as any other.
Biomes that are classified as Deserts biomes have one thing in common, they receive less than 50 cm
or 19.7 inches of rain a year. This is barely enough to support life. This is also taking into account
some fog, dew, and possibly hail and snow. However, even with all the extra precipitation, these lands
still experience less than 50 cm of rain a year. Desert biomes are located on every major landform, in
some cases more than one. According to the CEF, [...] there are four major types of deserts you may
come across, Hot and Dry Desert, Semi arid Desert, Coastal Desert, Cold Deserts, (Rinkesh,n.d). Hot
and Dry deserts are stereotypically what you would imagine a desert being like, hot dry and almost
lifeless. These are located all over the world. The United States is home to 3 of them, the Mojave,
Chihuahua, Sonoran. Semi arid Deserts are like Hot and Dry Deserts expect they are much cooler and
have different soil and planet

Patrick Bateman American Psycho
The film begins in the late 1980s with Patrick Bateman, a young wealthy businessman working for a
Wall Street bank, and who lives in Manhattan. From the start, some of the characteristics that would
describe Patrick are: alpha male, narcissistic, misogynist, self absorbed, insecure, so wrapped up in his
own life that is contingent on dining at fancy restaurants while keeping up his appearance.
Throughout the movie American Psycho by Mary Harron (2000), we discover more about Patrick as
well as revealing things about his personality. Patrick can be described as a serial killer, who does not
consider himself to be real, at least not to be a complete personality. He states, there is an idea of a

would be at risk of committing such crimes. Some of these traits include: lack of empathy,
aggressiveness (whether verbal or physical), impulsiveness, lack of remorse, attention to detail, and
high sensitivity to criticism. He states I have all the characteristics of a human being: blood, flesh,
skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust (American Psycho
2000). Along with those traits, the motives for his killings would be: power and control; with him
desiring power and feeling of dominance. Revenge against a specific person (i.e. Paul Allen) and
profit. He is a psychopathic sexual sadist, who could also be characterized as an organized serial killer,
someone who is always prepared and calculated. He kills for pure pleasure and likes to inflict his pain
on others. His hatred for people becomes more and more intense as the film progresses, the smallest
things set him off. He states, My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for

Essay On Guantanamo Bay
Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp is a United States Military Prison. The camp is used to secure some
of the worlds most dangerous criminals. These inmates are being imprisoned without trial because of
their horrific crimes. The majority of the people being held at Guantanamo Bay are being tortured
because they play a vital part in information and leads for the US Military. If the detainees were to be
released they wouldn t be in a facility as secure as Guantanamo Bay and could possibly be deported
back to their country and go back to terrorism. Guantanamo Bay is an extremely secure place which
we should keep for the select people that deserve to be there and we should continue torturing them
until we get answers. This camp should not be removed because it is an important source for the US
Military to find out what these men are really thinking and what they ve been up to. I believe we
should keep Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp open for the safety of our country and to put a stop to
future terrorist attacks, etc.
The detainees being held in the camp are exceedingly dangerous. The group of men that our in this

so upset and hung up over these men, why do people feel bad for men that are threatening our
country? These aren t criminals engaging in recidivism these are ideologically committed killers on
perceived ordained missions from God. They will not be stopped and putting them in the U.S. will
give them the advantage which is why Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp needs to remain open for the

The Spectrophotometric Determination of an Equilibrium...
The Spectrophotometric Determination of an Equilibrium Constant.
Abstract:
The report presents determination of equilibrium constant for the formation of a complex ion
FeSCN2+. This was accomplished using a colorimeter to measure absorbance of some known
concentration solutions in order to generate the calibration curve. The equation of the graph was used
to compute the equilibrium concentrations of the reactants and products, needed to calculate the
equilibrium constant for the reaction. I. Introduction:
The purpose of the experiment is to determine the equilibrium constant for the formation of a complex
ion iron (III) thiocyanate (FeSCN2+). This ion is formed in the reaction of iron (III) ion with ... Show

Chronicle of a Death Foretold Reflective
Chronicle of a Death Foretold: Cultural Analysis
In America, there is a judicial system that helps justice prevail, to punish criminals, and let the
innocent walk. The judicial system allows for there to be a trial where evidence is presented. Through
the evidence presented, the jury then decides if the person on trial is innocent or guilty. Never in any
trial, in any courthouse, under any judge would it be allowed for a murder to be justified so that one
could restore a relative s honor. However, this is not true in the location of Chronicle of a Death
Foretold, as the Vicario twins were found innocent due to legitimate case of honor, which was by the
court upheld in good faith (Marquez 48). The reason that this honor is upheld is ... Show more content

This means that the whole town smelled Santiago Nasar. Most people don t find the dreams important
as it is not reality; also entire communities do not smell the same dead man the day after he dies, but
because the people do shows that the people value magic realism and truly find magic realism to be
real. Magic Realism found scattered all across the book as magic realism is true to the Vicario brother
s culture.
Following the concept of magic realism, is the strong sense of honor in the novel. First and foremost,
the Vicario brothers killed Santiago to the restore their sister s honor. The brothers were then found
innocent for the crime of murder because the two killed Santiago to restore their sister s honor. Honor
is incorporated throughout the entire novel in every character. I knew what they were up to, and I didn

said by Prudencia Cotes, at this time she was the fiancé of Pablo. Although this woman is his fiancé,
and clearly loves him she couldn t marry a man who didn t reclaim the honor of a relative. In the
culture of the Vicario brother s defending their family honor is not an option but a necessity of a man.
This concept of necessity will be explored later on. Also the town accepted this murder of Santiago
Nasar. When the peoples of the town learned of the situation that was happening. They avoided

A presidential committee was designated to review the accident. After various months the
investigators wrote a report, showing an O Ring seal rupture as the main reason of the explosion. Due
to the freezing climate, the ring didn t expand to hold the seal firm, letting hot vapors to escape.
The tragedy could have been evaded. The problems with these rings were recognized by the engineers
working on the the shuttle, but they didn t notify the administration. This had been noted in previous
flights. Instead of demanding an inquiry, NASA ignored the issue and increased its tolerance. Just one
night before, the NASA called one of the manufacturers of the spacecraft parts. A crowd of engineers
told NASA about their concern of potential failures of the rings in severe climate and suggested to

manufacturer approved launch, and Challenger was heading straight towards disaster. The failure in

Effect of Temperature on an Enzyme in Hydgrogen Peroxide...
Effect of Temperature on an Enzyme in Hydgrogen Peroxide
Introduction.
The aim of this investigation is to find out how temperature affects the speed at which the
enzyme,Catalase, works best in Hydrogen Peroxide.I hope to achieve reliable results that will confirm
my predictions.
I predict that:
· By increasing the temperature of the Hydrogen Peroxide, the Catalase will react faster. This is
because the particles have more energy so they will move and react at a faster rate.
· At about 40c, the Catalase will start to deteriorate because the substrate no longer fits the enzyme
making the enzyme useless.
· I predict that the enzyme will work at its best at 37c because that is ... Show more content on

I know that with a rise of 10c the rate of reaction will be doubled in a single cell. This is because the
particles are moving faster due to the increase of energy(rate of reactions). As soon as the temperature
becomes too high, the enzyme will become denatured, meaning that the enzyme will no longer fit the
substrate and at this point the rate of reaction slows down rapidly and eventually the enzyme becomes
useless.
I hope to find the temperature at which the enzyme performs best and the temperature at which the
rate of reaction slows down showing the enzyme has become denatured.
An enzyme is a biological catalyst which alters the rate of reaction without being changed itself.
Enzymes are proteins;they have very precise three dimensional shape, which forms a one specific

Brokeback Mountain Analysis
Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx is a heart wrenching short story written with an intimate style
that evokes clear imagery in the mind of the reader. Although, only 28 pages in length the short story
offered Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana source material that had potential to be expanded and to
build upon the already created Midwestern reality. One of the elements altered for the screenplay from
the short story is the perspective; which follows the main character, Ennis Del Mar over the course of
twenty years. Although, not told through Ennis eyes exactly, the reader is given access to his
emotional state; meaning his thoughts and feelings are explained more so than any other character. For
example: He had no serious hard feelings, just a vague sense of getting shortchanged, and showed it
was all right by taking Thanksgiving dinner with Alma and her grocer and the kids, sitting between his
girls and talking horses to them, , telling jokes, trying not to be a sad daddy. (pg. 16) The screenplay
shares a similar perspective, but expands the view to include Jack Twist, moving between the lives of
both men throughout the years. However, the screenplay stays true to the source material by paying
more attention to the original main character, Ennis. Another element that is changed from the short
story to the screenplay is the expansion or flushing out of characters. In Proulx s story, characters
other than Ennis and Jack are mostly referred to, or given glimpses of.

Cause And Effect Of Terrorism
Kabooom! The explosion erupts from a busy and crowded street, the windows are shattered, hot fiery
debris flies, the desperate and pleading cries of children, adults, and elderly are so loud you could hear
them for miles. Many of these unlucky people just became victims of a type of extreme crime,
terrorism. Terrorism is a great extreme that threatens the safety of America and American citizens
everyday. The threat is so serious it has caught the attention of the national and international
governments, impacted the lives of millions of people, and is growing more dangerous as technology
advances.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
Terrorism is the calculated use of unlawful force or violence, or the threat of unlawful force or
violence, against person or property for purposes of intimidation, coercion or ransom in the pursuit of
goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological . (What is Terrorism?)
Terrorism attacks impact thousands of people every year. These extreme, unnecessary attacks are
responsible for copious amounts of physical and emotional issues.
These traumatizing attackers, or terrorists, create a great sense of fear throughout the entire
population. These extreme criminals use a variety of extreme weapons that can cause great
catastrophe. A few examples of terrorist weapons and attack methods include but are not limited to the
following: explosives, kidnappings, hijackings, arson, killings, assassinations, cyber attacks, and

Effects Of Opening The Catering Business
Findings In order to understand the effects of opening the catering business, I looked at variable and
absorption costing to figure out which method would be better suited for internal and external
reporting in the past and future. In addition, I delved deeper to understand the cost breakdown of the
new products which helped form a capital budget that will help us determine the validity of opening
the catering business.
Inventory Effect on Net Income For November, there was an ending inventory of 500 units which led
to an operating income of $72,357.03 under absorption costing and a $65,679.68 under variable
costing . Due to ending inventory absorbing the fixed overhead cost under absorption costing as
opposed to being directly expensed under variable costing, there was a smaller per unit fixed overhead
expense under abortion which leads to a higher operating income under absorption costing. However,
when the ending inventory decreases as seen in December, operating income was greater under
variable costing than absorption costing . This is due to the additional expense of fixed overhead under
absorption costing because the beginning inventory in December had prior month s overhead costs.
Under variable costing, the ending inventory did not absorb fixed cost, so this allowed the fixed
overhead expense to be lower causing operating income to be higher.
Choice of Capacity
After looking at each capacity level, I suggest that the WSBS uses practical capacity for fixed

A Comparison of the Knight and the Squire in Chaucer s the...
In the medieval period that is described by Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, chivalry was perhaps the most
recognized quality of a true gentleman. This quality is explored in Chaucer s two characters of the
warrior class, the Knight and the Squire. The squire is the son of the Knight; both ride gallantly and
have the air of true gentleman warriors. However, the two are very dissimilar despite their
appearances. The Knight possesses the true qualities of chivalry, devotion to service, constancy in
humility, and honesty. The Squire possesses none of these qualities truly; instead his demeanor is one
that is less honorable and virtuous. Although both claim the same vocation, the Squire and the Knight
display contradicting attitudes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Knight s manner of speech also supports this: And though so much distinguished, he was wise
And in his bearing as modest as a maid. He never yet a boorish thing had said In all his life to any,
come what might; He was a true, a perfect gentle knight. (5) Chaucer already summarizes the
characteristics of the Knight as making up a perfect gentle knight , and the many tales of courage add
more credibility to Chaucer s summary. The knight s behavior was as modest as a maid (5). This is
contrary to the lad of fire and although the Squire had wonderful strength and agility , he did not use it
to the full extent that his father used his own. In all aspects, in comparison with his own contradictory
behavior, and in comparison with the Knight s behavior, the Squire is shown to be less than sincere in
his chivalry. The Knight and the Squire have distinctly different attitudes towards their vocation. As a
result, they are complementing images of the medieval warrior. The Knight is the romantic image that
all true knights aspire to, generously practicing such chivalrous qualities as dedication, humility, and
sincerity. Contrasting this, however, is the image depicted by the Squire, that of an imperfect knight
who was to some degree boastful, lusting, or superficial. The Squire was never directly criticized by
Chaucer, but the implications that resulted from the description amounted to an extravagant, un

Why babyhood rather than childhood?
The case that I want to make is that babyhood is much more important to our lives than many people

obesity, depression and poor school performance, has already been shaped by children s experiences
in babyhood. For those of you who have not studied the scientific literature, this might seem a bit ...

Identity Crises: The Inequality of Women in The Beaux Stratagem and She Stoops to Conquer
Plays during the Restoration period often contained characters dressed up in disguise as a way to
create conflict and to manipulate the plot. Conversely, the false identities in which these characters
adopt, help readers learn about social hierarchy. Specifically, characters like Archer and Aimwell from
George Farquhar s The Beaux Stratagem and Kate Hardcastle from Oliver Goldsmith s She Stoops to
Conquer illustrate that when their personalities change, that the social situation changes. Additionally,
all of these characters subversively modify their identities to manipulate social standards and

objectified by Aimewell who alters his identity to seduce women, like Dorinda. Dorinda s situation
signifies inequality in women because even though Dorinda knows that Aimwell lied to her, she
sacrifices her power and become the property of Aimwell via marriage all for social status. This
represents the weakness that women from the upper class exhibited. Both examples are important is

The Significance of Brown v. Board of Education Essay
In 1954, the Supreme Court of the United States was confronted with the controversial Brown v.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt said in his famous Four Freedoms speech that Freedom means the
supremacy of human rights everywhere. Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or
keep them but his statements were very contradictory to how African Americans were truly being
treated in the U.S. (Roosevelt, 273). After hearing complaints from African American veterans about
segregation, FDR signed Executive Order 8802 in 1941 which created the Fair Employment Practices
Committee to ensure that equal opportunity was given to people of color in federal jobs, yet it still did
not desegregate the armed forces. It would take seven more years until President Harry S. Truman
would sign Executive Order 9981 to desegregate the armed forces on July 26, 1948. Later that year in
December, the United Nations issued their Universal Declaration of Human Rights which decreed that
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration without distinction of

Atrocities In Afganistan (Women) Essay
(NOTE TO STUDENT: my teacher gave me a B+ and said I would have had an A if I had had more
detail on the Taliban s reasons for these laws)
The women of Afghanistan have been enduring unfathomable suffering since the Taliban, a religious
faction, seized control of the country in 1996. (NOTE TO STUDENT: my teacher gave me a B+ and
said I would have had an A if I had had more detail on the Taliban s reasons for these laws) Since 1996
Afghan women have been living fear for their safety and lives. A myriad of discriminating laws has
been placed on Afghan women. The punishments for violating these laws are unimaginably inhuman.

Before the Taliban took over Afghanistan the country was fairly progressive in terms of women s
rights. There were women in Parliament, medicine, law, engineering and many other creditable
professions (Shanahan). The majority of teachers were women (Shanahan). Half of the civil servants
and university students were women (Shanahan). It seems the Afghan society was much like our own
in relation to gender equality.
The current situation in Afghanistan contrasts the old one as black does white. Few women are
permitted to work. Those who are must do so inside their homes (Stop). Girls are banned from
attending school after the age of eight (Stop). A journalist speaks of girls not being allowed to leave
the state orphanage building since 1996 although the boys go outside every day to attend school and
play (Stop). The Taliban have severely limited women s access to medical services because male
physicians aren t allowed to treat women and only a few selected female physicians can work only if
they are veiled and treat only women (Stop).
The punishments for violating the Taliban s laws are even more appalling than the laws themselves
and are among the most savage in the world. Often the punishments are dealt out in public in front of
thousands of spectators. 30,000 men and boys gathered in an arena to eat biscuits and drink tea while

My name is strep. Streptococcus Mutans to be exact. I live in a diverse community but my family
make up about twenty percent of the world we live in. Our home is called mouth. We have lived here
for as long as I can remember. From what I have been told we lived here before there were even
homes for us. As a baby our host was kissed by a caregiver who transferred my family to our host. I
wasn t around yet but I hear we had to live down in the grooves of the tongue at that time. Then when
teeth began erupting we were able to upgrade into better homes but some of my family still lives down
in those valleys. We re a bacterium that is normal to have so our host has never really tried to kick us
out but we re not the cleanest of microbes and have been known to cause some tooth decay here and
there. I am writing this journal to keep record of the things that have been happening to us lately.

I know that no one will ever be reading my journal besides me but if for some reason you re reading
this I know I kind of left you in the dark yesterday with what I said about our home. Which is funny
because we re pretty much always in the dark here. Lately some strange things have been happening
around here when it comes to how our host takes care of his mouth. Some of the streptococcus mutans
have been eliminated. That s a change because our world has mostly flourished for a very long time.

their brain works. He uses the excuse that all men just don t see or feel the mess that is going on. Dave

another excuse men use so they don t have to clean. All men and women are capable of cleaning, even

Kidney stones form when your urine contains more crystal forming substances such as calcium,
oxalate and uric acid than the fluid in your urine can dilute. At the same time, your urine may lack
substances that prevent crystals from sticking together, creating an ideal environment for kidney
stones to form.
Uric acid crystals deposited in the kidneys can become large kidney stones. These are also known as
uric acid stones. These stones are formed in people who don t drink enough fluids or who lose too
much fluid, those who eat a high protein diet, and those who have gout.
Uric acid stones are very painful and can cause permanent kidney damage. The stones can form
obstructions which prevent your kidneys from removing wastes and causing infection. They can also
scar the kidneys with rough or sharp edges. These problems can lead to chronic kidney disease and

Studies in the 1990s have attempted to resurrect these genes but have been largely unable to do so. It

Habilis etc. Things such as exceptional hairiness in Neanderthals is thought to be an example of genes
that were functional and advantageous during their history but are not needed or functional anymore.

Essay on Elizabeth Cady Stanton s Fight for Equality
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was not just a mother, daughter, feminist, and writer; but she is the woman
who changed the lives of women everywhere by fighting for equality. Stanton lived a normal

what she accomplished that changed history and how it still affects us today in 2011. I will also

Stanton accomplished great things although; she did not actually experience what her
accomplishments resulted in. She was an advocate for women s suffrage and that was her goal. She
died before she could see her wish come true, but all her hard work and accomplishments made it
happen. Along with her friend and partner Susan B. Anthony, Stanton began her fight for women s
rights in politics after the American Revolution. She organized the first national women s rights
convention in Seneca Falls (Gordon, 2009). This was the first time that the advocates for women s
rights formally organized. At this convention Stanton also co authored the Declaration of Sentiments
which really was the Declaration of Independence for women (Gordon, 2009). These women knew
how powerful the original Declaration of Independence was in the US, and they were hoping to do the
same. This showed the people who women are in the same situation that the US was with Britain
before the revolution. Writing the Declaration was a huge step because without it they couldn t really
illustrate how severe their situation really was. Another accomplishment was the enactment of the
married women s property statute in 1848. Stanton and her followers were determined to see change in
the property rights of women. In England, women had no

The Giver Research Paper
Have you ever wanted to live in a world that is just perfect ? A world where you can have diverse
families, a world where nobody can t control the way how you feel about a person, and able to keep
your best memories to yourself. Well, in the book, The Giver by Lois Lowry, an eleven male named
Jonas(the protagonist) lived in a utopian community where rules must be obeyed. Rules like having no
bad memories, can t feel attraction or love for someone, which is controlled by elders. Living with a
family that has one daughter, one brother, one mom, and one dad. The three main differences between
Jonas s society and reality are family, feelings, and memories.

In Jonas s society, members of the community aren t allowed to feel feelings of attraction or love.
According to the novel, it states, Jonas nodded. I liked the feeling of love, he confessed. He glanced
nervously at the speaker on the wall reassuring himself that no one was listening, I wish we still had
that, he whispered (Lowry 126). This quote shows how in Jonas s world, people weren t allowed to
feel the attraction of love. In Jonas s society, they call these type of feelings, the stirrings , which they
described it as the feeling of wanting. These stirrings have to be cured by taking a pill every day, to get
rid of it. According to the novel, it states, Do I have to report it? he asked his mother... No, no, she
said. It s just the pills. You re ready for the pills, that s all. That s the treatment for Stirrings (Lowry 37
38). This quote shows how the rule in Jonas s society is to take a pill if you had the feeling for
someone. Unlike Jonas s society, in today s society, we are not controlled by feeling a certain type of
way towards a man/women. Feelings in our society do not have to be cured every day, it runs through
our body every single day, which is normal for people in society today. How would a person feel
something for someone, if they don t have the feeling about them

Zechariah Is The Doctrine Of End Times
One of the major themes of the book of Zechariah is Old Testament Eschatology. Eschatology is the
doctrine of end times, or the study of last things. Zechariah s message is divided into three main
sections. The first section, chapters 1 8, is considered apocalyptic and is filled with eight visions
succeeding one another in one night. The second section, chapters 7 8, delivered two years later, are an
answer to the question whether the days of fasting and mourning for the destruction of the city should
be kept any longer, and an assurance to the people of God s presence and blessing. The third and final
section, chapters 9 14, consists of two oracles. The first oracle (9 11) addresses God s dealings with
His people. The second oracle (12 14) points out the final conflict and triumph of God s kingdom. In
the first section, Zechariah details a series of eight supernatural visions the Lord reveals to Him. These
visions are apocalyptic in nature and are communicated to encourage the people to finish rebuilding
the Temple, which at that point was five months into reconstruction. These visions are given to relay
hope for the people s future and the future of the city of the Temple, Jerusalem. The first vision (1:7
17) consists of four angelic riders on four horses of various colors. The angelic rider on the red horse
dismounts his horse in the middle of a grove of myrtle trees. Zechariah asks the meaning of this vision
and the angel of the Lord responds. The horses and riders

Article Summary And Synthesis Essay
The author of this article wrote about a recent discovery of the fossils of a new human like species that
are sparking controversy among several paleoanthropologists. According to the article, the remains
were retrieved by a group of slim excavators from the inside of a deep South African cave. The age of
the bones were found unclear due to the fact that it had been buried in sediments of numerous layers.
Close examinations showed that the fossils had the same traits as several other species in the genus
Homo. The skeletons had similar skulls, legs, and ankles while other traits such as their fingers and rib
cages were slightly different to accommodate other methods of movement. Paleontologists from
various parts of the world have reasoned whether or not they believe that the discovered remains had
any actual relation to the human species. Nonetheless, the researchers believe that any new

they carry out their duties discovering ancient items and places, and then examining them to uncover

Everyday we put tons of pollution into the air, water and ground. Our population is growing each day

importance of setting land aside for posterity sake and in doing do set a trend for later presidents.
When Richard Nixon set land aside in Alaska, which became the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge

An interesting fact about this issue is that 95% of Alaska s North Slope is open for exploration and
development leaving the ANWR as the remaining 5%(Sierra Club 1). The ANWR was set aside for a
reason, to be protected for later generations, so why drill in the protected site while 95% is open?
An article off of sacbee.com talks about the Gwich in people and their dependency on the ANWR. As
well as animals being adversely affected the Gwich in Inuit natives live there. They depend on the
protection of the ANWR because their chief source of food is caribou. They use every part of the
caribou for food, clothing, shelter and their cultural focus point. Repealing the status of a National
Wildlife Refuge would hurt their way of life that they have preserved over the years.
The site is being considered because the people who back this idea don t want the USA being
dependent on foreign oil. The fact is it would not make us less dependent on foreign oil, a 6 month
supply over 50 years is not going to do that. They are also afraid of Saddam Hussien controlling the
oil market, but economists say the world controls the prices. The oil they want to drill would be a very
small amount only about 2% of our total reserves. If they started drilling in 2002 we would not see it
until 2012, meaning we can not cure any problems that may occur before then.

Symbolism In My Sister s Keeper
Fire a metaphor of life
The book I have read is called My sister s keeper, and is written by Jodi Picoult. It is about a family of
five, with two daughters and a son. Their oldest daughter, Kate, got leukemia when she was two years
old, and her parents decided to have another child to save her. The newborn baby, Anna, was used to
donate blood to Kate. Eventually, when Anna is older she decides to sue her parents for the rights of
her own body, when she is told to donate a kidney to her sister. Through the book we also meet the
sister s older brother, Jesse, as well as their parents, Brian and Sarah, Anna s lawyer, Campbell, and
her guardian ad litem, Julia. Fire is a central theme in the book, and is used as a metaphor in many
different ways. First we can read different quotes about fire as we go trough the book. Secondly we
hear their father s description of fire on page 141, and lastly how we interpret fire ourselves.
There are at least ten quotes about fire in the book. The quote on page 71 is my favorite quote in the
book, because I feel that it describes the family s situation, as well as making you read between the
lines after a deeper meaning.

Improving Genetic Producers
Throughout our country producers are working hard and developing new methods to increase carcass
yields and better quality cattle. Often times producers focus on developing better genetics; which are
characteristics that make up an animal. In order to develop better genetics producers, take into
consideration many different things including what is the purpose of their operation. Often times
producers have many options available to them to improve genetic within their herd. In order to
increase genetics producers can conduct physical evaluations, look at pedigrees, and use artificial
insemination to increase genetic within their herd. First and foremost, producers can physically
evaluate animals to improve their genetics. Physical evaluation is often one of the most come ways a
producer can help improve their herd genetics. Producers are able to evaluate physical characteristics
such as muscle, body structure, and reproductive soundness. For instants, if a producer is looking to
improve muscle throughout their herd, then they would look at the forearm, back, gaskin, stifle, loin
and round. If a producer is looking to improve body structure than they will select cows with a deeper
body and more spring of rib. Physical evaluations are one of the easiest ways a producer can improve

Wal Mart has maintained that they did not discriminate against Betty and the other women that filed
claim against, but I believe that Wal Mart knew exactly what was going on and just chose to ignore
Betty when she was making her complaints. They began to take her seriously when she filed the suit.
Some of the moral complaints the women were suing Wal Mart for was for statistical disparities such
female workers were less likely to be paid the proper wages as the men; they were denied promotion
in a timely fashion different to those of the men (Boatright, 2009, pg.199). There was a lot of bias
involved with all of this; it even has a hint of gender stereotyping. I believe the moral complaints were
justified because Betty made complaints to managers and higher up and because she did this they
began to treat her differently and demoted her for not opening a cash register with a penny but for
talking. When it came to promotions opportunities they were not made known, and those that she
wanted they kept telling her they were filled and hired male counter parts that were not fit for the
position. What made Wal Mart managers determine what part of the store you worked was based on
your gender and that was wrong, not because they were women meant they could not do what was
needed. The women by far were more experienced than the men and the stayed longer on the job also.

Machiavelli’s Political Ideas and Influence
Machiavelli s Political Ideas and Influence By: Reed Rosencrans The Renaissance took place in Italy
during the fourteenth through sixteenth centuries. The Renaissance was a rebirth and revival of
political and social ideas from the Ancient Greek and Roman eras. One social ideal of the Renaissance
was Humanism. Humanism was a Renaissance idea that emphasis human potential and ability. A
political idea from the Renaissance was political realism. Political realism is when a ruler
accomplishes goals in the interest of state and does not mind resorting to violence if necessary. A
major author and political figure from the Renaissance who embodied political realism was Niccolo
Machiavelli. Machiavelli was a Florentine born in 1469 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also if a prince is well liked by his subjects it is much easier to accomplish tasks with the interest of
the state. By ruling with interest a prince can be forced to leave power by his subjects. Machiavelli s
third topic is his biggest concern for Italy. After working as an ambassador he noticed that the
barbarians or countries from Northern Europe had large armies with well trained soldiers. Since Italy
relied on mercenaries to do most of the fighting Italy would be taken over by these large, barbaric,
armies if there was ever a war between them. So Machiavelli emphasized that a prince should have a
free standing army. In The Prince he said, Mercenaries are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his
state based on these arms, he will stand neither firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious, and
without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before friends, cowardly before enemies . . If a prince were to
have mercenaries do all the fighting his enemies can overtake him. But if a prince has a large and
powerful army he can intimidate his opponents. Other than being the author of The Prince

The Importance Of Cemeterys
A cemetery is a burial ground, a graveyard, a sacred place, a grieving place, and for some, a place of
communication and healing. A graveyard is a sacred area set apart to hold graves, tombs, or funeral
urns, usually located on a church s property or in a large public park (Swensen, Nordh, Brendalsmo,
2016). Although some people are buried above ground, in most cultures around the world, bodies are
buried underground (Kearnes Rickards, 2017). A cemetery is the last part of the death system that an
individual will encounter. Other parts of the death system include hospice care, funeral homes,
emergency medical systems, police, hospitals, nursing homes, and clergy and coroner s offices. With
cemeteries being the place where loved ones are buried, society has put a spotlight on cemeteries. But
what happens when these places of spiritual and religious importance are labeled as haunted and
become areas of high tourist interest? Savannah, Georgia is known as one of the most haunted cities of
the United States (Gentry, 2007). Along with the obvious, noticeable graveyards spread throughout
Savannah, there are also lost graveyards that are marked using plaques (Gentry, 2007). In earlier
times, the dead were buried just beyond the city limits, areas paved over as the city expanded, which
means that it is impossible to walk through Savannah without walking on graves (Gentry, 2007, p.
223). Because of this, this previous capitol of Georgia has become known for their haunted

Breastfeeding Is A Controversial Topic Over The Years
The practice of breastfeeding has become a very controversial topic over the years due to the creation
of alternatives to breast milk, increase in working mothers, and other reasons. Much research shows
that due to a variety of cultural, ethical, and economic reasons women should be encouraged to
breastfeed for a specific duration of time, while others believe that this is unnecessary. Based on these
three societal sectors, should women be encouraged to breastfeed? If so, for how long should they
breastfeed? Since the beginning of humans/ mankind breastfeeding has been practiced by mothers.
Stevens and colleagues (2009) tell us the following information (pp. 32 39): Since the beginning of
humans life on Earth, there have always been a number of alternatives used to provide nutrients to
infants. For example, in 2000 BC women fed animal milk to their children. More recently, in the 18th
century many women were encouraged to stay home, breastfeed, and care for their children and
husband (Stevens et al., 2009, 33). Some areas of the world even believed that breast milk provided
the child with wisdom. Then in the 19th century, it was a common idea that women were only
equipped to breastfeed if she had a good diet, exercised, and was mentally fit, but breastfeeding was
highly encouraged. However, European women during this time had wet nurses, or other women that
would breastfeed the child that wasn t biologically theirs (p. 35). People soon began to realize that this

Present Day Chaucer
The Crazy Adventure
The Discussion of Present Day Chaucer Chaucer is a famous author from the 1300 s, he wrote many
stories such as The Canterbury Tales. Chaucer shows multiple people who we might look up to for all
the wrong reasons. He also shows how much stress can be put on one person to do everything.
Sometimes it s hard to be the perfect person that everyone wants but we have to do it anyways.
Chaucer seems to be the person looking for the bad in everyone and trying to help them fix it.
Obviously, if Chaucer was writing the Canterbury Tales now a days I think he would have three
different kinds of characters telling a story. For instance, I can see him adding a football player
specifically one like Brandon Marshall. Brandon Marshall is a Denver Broncos Linebacker who
kneeled down during the National Anthem like his fellow opponent Colin Kaepernick. I think he
would pick a football player because people are always watching the Superbowl as a family on
holidays like Thanksgiving. When kids grow up watching these athletes play they can believe they are

I think Chaucer would have her in his story because Hillary is someone who is being voted to be our
next president who has already lied about so many things and gotten away with it. I think Chaucer
would find this as a fault in the government and would add her in to make fun at her for being so
dishonest. He would also make fun of her followers because they are so willing to be lied to about
everything just because they want a girl president. Although I disagree wholeheartedly because I feel
as though we shouldn t elect someone due to their race and or sexuality. We should elect them because
they are going to do what s right or this country and the people in it. Hillary would be the person in a
story that tells nothing but lies too make it so people hear what they want to hear even though she won

Neutralisation Reaction Lab Report
1. What is a neutralisation reaction?
A neutralisation reaction is a chemical reaction that occurs when equivalent amounts of acid and a
base react to produce salt and water (H2O) (The FreeDictionary.com,2017). The H+(q) ions from an
acid react with the OH‾ ions from an alkali. The equation for this reaction is: H+
(aq)+OH‾(aq)=H2O(l). For example, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solution react with each
other and form water and sodium chloride solution. The acid consists of H+ ions and Cl‾ ions, and the
alkali contains Na+ ions and OH‾ ions. The H+ ions and OH‾ ions create water, and the Na+ ions and
Cl‾ ions create sodium chloride, NaCl (aq) (Bbc.co.uk,2017).
2. Did neutralisation reaction occur in the practical? Explain. ... Show more content on

Better Bunsen burners because the fire kept on going off, which disrupted the speed of the evaporation
process.
Wire loops should have been cleaned properly, so it didn t disrupt the flame test colour.
More trials should have been done to get accurate results.
More attention should have been paid when the water was nearly evaporated so the crystals didn t
burn and change colour from white to brown.
Conclusion:
The aim of the experiment to perform a chemical neutralisation reaction by using hydrochloric acid
and sodium hydroxide solution was achieved because the base plus acid turned into salt and water.
While performing the flame test using a wire loop along with the white crystals from the evaporating
dish turned the flame to yellow rather than yellowish orange colour, which indicates sodium. The
reason why the solution turned cloudy was that it indicated that the neutralisation reaction was
complete. The worded solution that was formed was silver nitrate + sodium chloride → Sodium
nitrate + silver chloride (AgNO3 + NaCl → AgCl +

  • 2. The Similarities And Differences Of Religion, Judaism And... Belief, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary, is a strong feeling that something or someone exists or is true, confidence that something or someone is good or right. Religions based on monotheism just have one god. Some of the religions based on monotheism are Judaism, Zoroastrianism, and Atenism. These three monotheistic religions have some differences and similarities. First, according to primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk, Jewish history begins with the covenant established between God and Abraham around 1812 BC, during the Bronze Age, in the Middle East. Abraham is considered as the father of the family of Jews. Moses is also an important figure as he gave the Jews the Torah around 1250 B.C. The Torah contains the laws of God. . Judaism is the culture of the Jews. This religion was originated in the land of Palestine in the middle east. Since the Jews have been migrating around the world, their religion has been growing over time. There is something difficult to believe. Judaism has no dogma, no formal arrangement of convictions that one must hold to be a Jew. In Judaism, activities are much more essential than convictions, although there is surely a place for conviction inside Judaism. Dissimilar to numerous different religions, Judaism does not concentrate much on conceptual cosmological ideas. Although Jews have surely considered ideas of God, man, the universe, life, and life following death at awesome length, there is no conclusive conviction regarding these matters, ... • 3. What Is A Reflection In Strategic Leadership A reflection in Strategic Leadership Before coming to USAWC I think that my experience and knowledge gained during the twenty five years of service is an important quality to possess. At one point I thought: A few years until retirement, and probably no special secrets for me to discover during the academic year. I can only confirm existing knowledge, gained some new and meet an interesting people before returning home . Much to my surprise, already after the first reading and discussion at the seminar, I realize that this will be more interesting than I had hoped. The first lessons were related to leadership and I was wondering what s new here. I thought I knew a theory about leadership. After all, I am an author of a document about the leadership in SAF. But, the first readings, seminar dialogues and discussions are shedding new light on my thinking about leadership in general, my knowledge and experience, traits, values and shortcomings. Thanks to the readings and discussions in outstanding environment I become aware of what one colonel told to me: This is going to be the best year of your career . It looks like he s going to be right. Next academic year is a great opportunity for me to build strategic leadership competencies and achieve outcomes of USAWC s curriculum. According to given task and my aspiration in the future, I will attempt to express my reflection in two of four mission specific outcomes based on GEN Powell s autobiography: strategic leaders and ... Being Godless Wastelands Are Wrong Throughout this world we call Earth, there aren t many regions or continents that we humans call home that don t have a desert biome, they existence on almost every continent. According to the Conserve Energy Future or CEF, Deserts cover about twenty percent of our earth , (Rinkesh,n.d). When the word Desert comes to mind you think of a hot, and lifeless wasteland that takes. However, I believe the stereotypical thought of Deserts being godless wastelands are wrong. I believe it is actually just a functioning, flushing environment just as any other. Biomes that are classified as Deserts biomes have one thing in common, they receive less than 50 cm or 19.7 inches of rain a year. This is barely enough to support life. This is also taking into account some fog, dew, and possibly hail and snow. However, even with all the extra precipitation, these lands still experience less than 50 cm of rain a year. Desert biomes are located on every major landform, in some cases more than one. According to the CEF, [...] there are four major types of deserts you may come across, Hot and Dry Desert, Semi arid Desert, Coastal Desert, Cold Deserts, (Rinkesh,n.d). Hot and Dry deserts are stereotypically what you would imagine a desert being like, hot dry and almost lifeless. These are located all over the world. The aim of this investigation is to find out how temperature affects the speed at which the enzyme,Catalase, works best in Hydrogen Peroxide.I hope to achieve reliable results that will confirm my predictions. I predict that: · By increasing the temperature of the Hydrogen Peroxide, the Catalase will react faster. This is because the particles have more energy so they will move and react at a faster rate. · At about 40c, the Catalase will start to deteriorate because the substrate no longer fits the enzyme making the enzyme useless. · I predict that the enzyme will work at its best at 37c because that is ... • 13. Brokeback Mountain Analysis Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx is a heart wrenching short story written with an intimate style that evokes clear imagery in the mind of the reader. Although, only 28 pages in length the short story offered Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana source material that had potential to be expanded and to build upon the already created Midwestern reality. One of the elements altered for the screenplay from the short story is the perspective; which follows the main character, Ennis Del Mar over the course of twenty years. Although, not told through Ennis eyes exactly, the reader is given access to his emotional state; meaning his thoughts and feelings are explained more so than any other character. For example: He had no serious hard feelings, just a vague sense of getting shortchanged, and showed it was all right by taking Thanksgiving dinner with Alma and her grocer and the kids, sitting between his girls and talking horses to them, , telling jokes, trying not to be a sad daddy. (pg. 16) The screenplay shares a similar perspective, but expands the view to include Jack Twist, moving between the lives of both men throughout the years. However, the screenplay stays true to the source material by paying more attention to the original main character, Ennis. Another element that is changed from the short story to the screenplay is the expansion or flushing out of characters. • 15. Effects Of Opening The Catering Business Findings In order to understand the effects of opening the catering business, I looked at variable and absorption costing to figure out which method would be better suited for internal and external reporting in the past and future. In addition, I delved deeper to understand the cost breakdown of the new products which helped form a capital budget that will help us determine the validity of opening the catering business. Inventory Effect on Net Income For November, there was an ending inventory of 500 units which led to an operating income of $72,357.03 under absorption costing and a $65,679.68 under variable costing . Due to ending inventory absorbing the fixed overhead cost under absorption costing as opposed to being directly expensed under variable costing, there was a smaller per unit fixed overhead expense under abortion which leads to a higher operating income under absorption costing. However, when the ending inventory decreases as seen in December, operating income was greater under variable costing than absorption costing . This is due to the additional expense of fixed overhead under absorption costing because the beginning inventory in December had prior month s overhead costs. Under variable costing, the ending inventory did not absorb fixed cost, so this allowed the fixed overhead expense to be lower causing operating income to be higher. Choice of Capacity After looking at each capacity level, I suggest that the WSBS uses practical capacity for fixed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the medieval period that is described by Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, chivalry was perhaps the most recognized quality of a true gentleman. This quality is explored in Chaucer s two characters of the warrior class, the Knight and the Squire. The squire is the son of the Knight; both ride gallantly and have the air of true gentleman warriors. However, the two are very dissimilar despite their appearances. The Knight possesses the true qualities of chivalry, devotion to service, constancy in humility, and honesty. The Squire possesses none of these qualities truly; instead his demeanor is one that is less honorable and virtuous. The Knight s manner of speech also supports this: And though so much distinguished, he was wise And in his bearing as modest as a maid. He never yet a boorish thing had said In all his life to any, come what might; He was a true, a perfect gentle knight. (5) Chaucer already summarizes the characteristics of the Knight as making up a perfect gentle knight , and the many tales of courage add more credibility to Chaucer s summary. The knight s behavior was as modest as a maid (5). This is contrary to the lad of fire and although the Squire had wonderful strength and agility , he did not use it to the full extent that his father used his own. In all aspects, in comparison with his own contradictory behavior, and in comparison with the Knight s behavior, the Squire is shown to be less than sincere in his chivalry. The Knight and the Squire have distinctly different attitudes towards their vocation. As a result, they are complementing images of the medieval warrior. The Knight is the romantic image that all true knights aspire to, generously practicing such chivalrous qualities as dedication, humility, and sincerity. Contrasting this, however, is the image depicted by the Squire, that of an imperfect knight who was to some degree boastful, lusting, or superficial. Board of Education case that challenged segregation in public education. Brown v. Board of Education was a landmark Supreme Court case because it called into question the morality and legality of racial segregation in public schools, a long standing tradition in the Jim Crow South, and threatened to have monumental and everlasting implications for blacks and whites in America. In 1951, Oliver L. Brown, his wife Darlene, and eleven other African American parents filed a class action lawsuit against the Board of Education of Topeka on behalf of their twenty children for denying colored children the right to attend segregated white schools and ... Our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights or keep them but his statements were very contradictory to how African Americans were truly being treated in the U.S. (Roosevelt, 273). After hearing complaints from African American veterans about segregation, FDR signed Executive Order 8802 in 1941 which created the Fair Employment Practices Committee to ensure that equal opportunity was given to people of color in federal jobs, yet it still did not desegregate the armed forces. It would take seven more years until President Harry S. Truman would sign Executive Order 9981 to desegregate the armed forces on July 26, 1948. Later that year in December, the United Nations issued their Universal Declaration of Human Rights which decreed that Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political, or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status... which was important because it was the voice of the international community against discrimination based on ... This quote shows how in Jonas s world, people weren t allowed to feel the attraction of love. In Jonas s society, they call these type of feelings, the stirrings , which they described it as the feeling of wanting. These stirrings have to be cured by taking a pill every day, to get rid of it. The third and final section, chapters 9 14, consists of two oracles. The first oracle (9 11) addresses God s dealings with His people. The second oracle (12 14) points out the final conflict and triumph of God s kingdom. In the first section, Zechariah details a series of eight supernatural visions the Lord reveals to Him. These visions are apocalyptic in nature and are communicated to encourage the people to finish rebuilding the Temple, which at that point was five months into reconstruction. These visions are given to relay hope for the people s future and the future of the city of the Temple, Jerusalem. The newborn baby, Anna, was used to donate blood to Kate. Humanism was a Renaissance idea that emphasis human potential and ability. A political idea from the Renaissance was political realism. Political realism is when a ruler accomplishes goals in the interest of state and does not mind resorting to violence if necessary. A major author and political figure from the Renaissance who embodied political realism was Niccolo Machiavelli. Machiavelli was a Florentine born in 1469 and ... By ruling with interest a prince can be forced to leave power by his subjects. Machiavelli s third topic is his biggest concern for Italy. After working as an ambassador he noticed that the barbarians or countries from Northern Europe had large armies with well trained soldiers. Since Italy relied on mercenaries to do most of the fighting Italy would be taken over by these large, barbaric, armies if there was ever a war between them. So Machiavelli emphasized that a prince should have a free standing army. In The Prince he said, Mercenaries are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his state based on these arms, he will stand neither firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious, and without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before friends, cowardly before enemies . . If a prince were to have mercenaries do all the fighting his enemies can overtake him. But if a prince has a large and powerful army he can intimidate his opponents. • 40. The Importance Of Cemeterys A cemetery is a burial ground, a graveyard, a sacred place, a grieving place, and for some, a place of communication and healing. A graveyard is a sacred area set apart to hold graves, tombs, or funeral urns, usually located on a church s property or in a large public park (Swensen, Nordh, Brendalsmo, 2016). Although some people are buried above ground, in most cultures around the world, bodies are buried underground (Kearnes Rickards, 2017). A cemetery is the last part of the death system that an individual will encounter. Other parts of the death system include hospice care, funeral homes, emergency medical systems, police, hospitals, nursing homes, and clergy and coroner s offices. With cemeteries being the place where loved ones are buried, society has put a spotlight on cemeteries. But what happens when these places of spiritual and religious importance are labeled as haunted and become areas of high tourist interest? Savannah, Georgia is known as one of the most haunted cities of the United States (Gentry, 2007). Along with the obvious, noticeable graveyards spread throughout Savannah, there are also lost graveyards that are marked using plaques (Gentry, 2007). In earlier times, the dead were buried just beyond the city limits, areas paved over as the city expanded, which means that it is impossible to walk through Savannah without walking on graves (Gentry, 2007, p. 223). Because of this, this previous capitol of Georgia has become known for their haunted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Breastfeeding Is A Controversial Topic Over The Years The practice of breastfeeding has become a very controversial topic over the years due to the creation of alternatives to breast milk, increase in working mothers, and other reasons. Much research shows that due to a variety of cultural, ethical, and economic reasons women should be encouraged to breastfeed for a specific duration of time, while others believe that this is unnecessary. Based on these three societal sectors, should women be encouraged to breastfeed? If so, for how long should they breastfeed? Since the beginning of humans/ mankind breastfeeding has been practiced by mothers. Stevens and colleagues (2009) tell us the following information (pp. 32 39): Since the beginning of humans life on Earth, there have always been a number of alternatives used to provide nutrients to infants. For example, in 2000 BC women fed animal milk to their children. More recently, in the 18th century many women were encouraged to stay home, breastfeed, and care for their children and husband (Stevens et al., 2009, 33). Some areas of the world even believed that breast milk provided the child with wisdom. Then in the 19th century, it was a common idea that women were only equipped to breastfeed if she had a good diet, exercised, and was mentally fit, but breastfeeding was highly encouraged. However, European women during this time had wet nurses, or other women that would breastfeed the child that wasn t biologically theirs (p. 35). People soon began to realize that this was a ... • 42. Present Day Chaucer The Crazy Adventure The Discussion of Present Day Chaucer Chaucer is a famous author from the 1300 s, he wrote many stories such as The Canterbury Tales. Chaucer shows multiple people who we might look up to for all the wrong reasons. He also shows how much stress can be put on one person to do everything. Sometimes it s hard to be the perfect person that everyone wants but we have to do it anyways. Chaucer seems to be the person looking for the bad in everyone and trying to help them fix it. Obviously, if Chaucer was writing the Canterbury Tales now a days I think he would have three different kinds of characters telling a story. For instance, I can see him adding a football player specifically one like Brandon Marshall. Brandon Marshall is a Denver Broncos Linebacker who kneeled down during the National Anthem like his fellow opponent Colin Kaepernick. I think he would pick a football player because people are always watching the Superbowl as a family on holidays like Thanksgiving. When kids grow up watching these athletes play they can believe they are everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think Chaucer would have her in his story because Hillary is someone who is being voted to be our next president who has already lied about so many things and gotten away with it. I think Chaucer would find this as a fault in the government and would add her in to make fun at her for being so dishonest. He would also make fun of her followers because they are so willing to be lied to about everything just because they want a girl president. Although I disagree wholeheartedly because I feel as though we shouldn t elect someone due to their race and or sexuality. We should elect them because they are going to do what s right or this country and the people in it. Hillary would be the person in a story that tells nothing but lies too make it so people hear what they want to hear even though she won t follow through with any of ... • 43. Neutralisation Reaction Lab Report 1. What is a neutralisation reaction? A neutralisation reaction is a chemical reaction that occurs when equivalent amounts of acid and a base react to produce salt and water (H2O) (The FreeDictionary.com,2017). The H+(q) ions from an acid react with the OH‾ ions from an alkali. The equation for this reaction is: H+ (aq)+OH‾(aq)=H2O(l). For example, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solution react with each other and form water and sodium chloride solution. The acid consists of H+ ions and Cl‾ ions, and the alkali contains Na+ ions and OH‾ ions. The H+ ions and OH‾ ions create water, and the Na+ ions and Cl‾ ions create sodium chloride, NaCl (aq) (Bbc.co.uk,2017). 2. Did neutralisation reaction occur in the practical? Explain. ... Wire loops should have been cleaned properly, so it didn t disrupt the flame test colour. More trials should have been done to get accurate results. More attention should have been paid when the water was nearly evaporated so the crystals didn t burn and change colour from white to brown. Conclusion: The aim of the experiment to perform a chemical neutralisation reaction by using hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solution was achieved because the base plus acid turned into salt and water. While performing the flame test using a wire loop along with the white crystals from the evaporating dish turned the flame to yellow rather than yellowish orange colour, which indicates sodium. The reason why the solution turned cloudy was that it indicated that the neutralisation reaction was complete. The worded solution that was formed was silver nitrate + sodium chloride → Sodium nitrate + silver chloride (AgNO3 + NaCl → AgCl + ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
