Problem Statement On Maintenance Management
1.0: Introduction
The introduction chapter begins with the background to the research project, this looks at maintenance
and its importance to a manufacturing or production environment. This goes on to look at the
formulation of the problem statement which gives an insight into the impact of maintenance on the
production cycle. The problem discussion is therefore narrowed down where the problem formulation
and research question will be presented. Some shortcomings about the research project are also stated
herein.
1.1: Background and Statement of the Problem
The economic downturn and the dynamic business environment drive companies to seek more
efficient and effective maintenance methods (Van Horenbeek et al., 2010). Thus, the increasing
competition in the market creates a need to search new ways in which companies can differentiate
themselves and gain more profit and better competitiveness. To stay competitive and continue to
produce profitably mining industries are always looking for ways to continuously improve and
optimise their production processes especially when faced with falling or depressed metal prices as
well as stiff global competition. Continuously changing world technologies, global competition,

Connotation In Richard Cory
Richard Cory is a narrative pom written by Edwin Arlington Robinson. The poem was first published
in 1897, as a part of The Children of the Night, having been completed in July of that year. Robinson s
most popular poems, recall the economic depression of 1893. At that time, people could not afford
meat and had a diet mainly of bread, often day old bread selling for less than freshly baked goods.
This hard times experience made the townspeople even more aware of Richard s difference from
them, so much so that they treated him as royalty. The Poem describes a person who is wealthy, well
educated, mannerly, and admired by the people in his town. Robinson uses connotation extensively to
place Richard Cory high on a pedestal above the townspeople. Connotation is the use of words to
suggest meanings beyond the dictionary definition. To lower the townspeople, Robinson places them
downtown. This suggests that Richard Cory is coming down, or lowering himself, to the level of the
townspeople when he comes into town. He also places people on the pavement, which is lower than
the sidewalk where Richard Cory most likely walks. Robinson positions the characters to show the
differences in their financial status. He also shows that it is the townspeople, and not Cory, that seem
to define these positions. Cory is perceived as distant royalty, he is perceived as a gentlemen,an
aristocraft above those who worked, unable to communicate with common people. The author uses this
as the suggestion that something is wrong with Richard Cory as he seems like the perfect
gentlemen, but he commits suicide one one calm Night.
Although it is written by an American poet and set in an American town, connotation is used to
suggest a noble, royal image of Richard Cory. His name, Richard, is the name of many kings. Also,
Richard contains the word rich, which suggests his wealth. There are many other royal connotations
and images in this poem including: sole to crown, imperially slim, and schooled in every grace.
Crown, imperially and grace all suggest royalty. Robinson uses denotation, or the use of words for the
exact meaning to emphasize this image of Richard Cory being local royalty. Richard Cory was a rich,
well educated man.

Blind Side Camera Angles
The Blindside is a exceptionally good sports movie that is based on a true story the movie is directed
by John Lee Hancock. It is about a poor black teenager whose life takes a brand new direction thanks
to the wealthy Tuohy family. The film has lots of good camera angles and settings It also makes really
good use of costumes as well.
The main story is about Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), he is a really poor black teenager whose life is
going no where until his life takes a massive turn for the better because of the wealthy Leigh Anne
Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) offers for him to come spend the night with the Tuohy family and he accepts,
he is amazed by the wealth this family has and the size and pristine condition of their house. The
Tuohy family is extremely helpful to michael and treats him as one of their own. the Tuohy family is
comprised of Sean Tuohy(Tim McGraw), S.J Tuohy (Jae Head) and Collins Tuohy (Lily Collins).

Camera angles in movies can be used to show a character has power over another one. It is also used if
character is physically taller than another but has less power the camera angle may still be down on
them. This is shown in the Blind Side when michael is being interviewed by the lady from the
N.C.A.A The camera angle is clear that the lady has more power over michael because she is almost
always looking down on him except at the end where michael takes a stand against the lady and leaves
the room then the camera angles even out showing the shift in power. It was very effective in making
him feel powerless and then powerful. Another example is when michael is in hurt village when he is
talking to alton and he is sitting with him and then he stands up and it creates a lot of tension and it
shows the balance of power tilting towards michael. The camera angles in the blind side were amazing

Describe what the user will mainly use a specific LAN for When the first computers were made, they

components, it is now easier than ever for different computers to connect to each other in a LAN

A LAN is a network of computers in a specific area interconnect using a variety of network media. For
example, WBHS LAN are all the computers connected to the WBHS network via Ethernet, Wi fi or

a town, city and country. LAN are usually more restricted in access and more numerous.
LAN are used at WBHS to connect all the schofols desktops, servers, all in ones, printers, laptops and

Captain Toad Essay
The bite sized Captain Toad stages in Super Mario 3D World were a wonderful side dish, offering a
very different type of challenge from the rest of the game. Little did we know at the time that the
compact, puzzle like levels would eventually find new life in a full fledged game, Captain Toad:
Treasure Tracker. Now, Captain Toad and Toadette, his partner in plunder, have hit the road on a quest
of their own, and it s one of the most charming and enjoyable games to grace the Wii U. The two tiny
explorers squawk and trot to all corners of the Mushroom Kingdom in search of golden treasure, and
occasionally to rescue each other from danger. While it has a gleeful exterior, Captain Toad: Treasure
Tracker s also a deceptively challenging romp, especially if you attempt to uncover all of the game s
hidden items.
The Toads outing is distinct from other adventures in the Mario universe for many reasons, but one in
particular stands out: their abilities are pared down to the basics. They can t jump, and they don t take
on any super powered transformations. All they can do is walk, climb ladders, throw turnips, and use
their headlamps to fend off ghosts. Such simplicity may sound boring, but it works ... Show more

Early Life Stages Of Aging Essay
Aging is a biological process by gradual deterioration of the physiological functions and metabolic
processes. (Hilaire Bakala et al 2012) Exposure to stressful situations during early life can have
intense health consequences and is impaired throughout life. However some cases of this impact do
not become evident until much later in life or decades later, when the individuals begin to show signs
of accelerated ageing. (Katherine A. et al 2014). While understanding the relationship between early
life and longevity has important implications in the field of aging, we have still little information
about the mechanisms involved in the prolonged times scales of stress aging. A stress can stimulate
various pathways leading to increased production of the reactive oxygen species (ROS) it is well
known that are highly reactive and capable of damaged many biological macro molecules such as
DNA, RNA, Proteins, and Lipids (Govinda Rao 1989; Tian et al 1998). The accumulation of oxidative
damaged molecules may cause genetic mutation and cellular senescence (Tian et al 1998). Several
data indicates that mitochondria are mostly affected organelles during aging. ... Show more content on

The Advantages of Conscription
It has long been a controversial topic of debate in the United States, whether or not our young men
and women should be required to serve in the armed forces. There is proof that compulsory military
service would be in our nations best interest. It has historically shown to improve military
preparedness, and also has evenly balanced the burden of military service. It also helps to instill a
sense of duty into those who serve. From an economic standpoint, there are numerous arguments to be
made in support of conscription, including government savings. Numerous scholars write in favor of
the subject as well. The government has been debating this topic since the draft system was removed
from our country, and many reports written also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If however, a draft was imposed, with these deferments eliminated, then the burden of military service
would fall less on the minorities and the impoverished, but rather on all men of military age.
Professor Charles Moskos, a former draftee, and currently a professor at Northwestern University
makes several good arguments in support of the draft. He points out the large number of volunteers
who fail to fulfill their initial enlistments: A reality often overlooked in the all volunteer force is that
one third of entering members fail to complete their initial enlistments. Contrast this with the one in
10 draftees who did not complete their two year obligation. It s much better to have a soldier serve a
short term honorably than be discharged prematurely for cause .
He raises an excellent point when he says that it would be detrimental to allow our troops to be
dishonorably discharged. Another excellent point brought up by Professor Moskos. He argues that
because for some jobs it takes a higher level of technical skill, that cant possibly be met by short term
service, higher compensation should be offered to those who serve longer. Higher compensation
should be aimed at those whose skills require extended training and job experience. A two track pay
system could be devised to give long term enlistees higher compensation than their drafted
counterparts (many of whom, however, may have

A Comparison of Two James Bond Posters
Dr No in 1962 was the first James Bond film released and The World Is Not Enough is one of the most
recent Bond films to have been released in 1999. The two film posters are distinctively different,
which would be expected as the films were released decades apart from eachother.
The first poster for Dr No shows that James Bond is a new, never seen before film as the logo 007 is

whereas in the poster for the World Is Not Enough the 007 logo is only used once in small lettering

This also may have something to do with the fact that in the 90 s, the first female head of MI5 was
introduced into the films.
The genre of the film is far more evident in the poster for The World Is Not Enough . The images used
connote an action film that has many different narratives. The poster is lively and eye catching and is
full of bright, vivid images. The poster fits in very well with the title of the film, as it looks like James
Bond is going to embark on some international mission, the image of some of the continents in flames
shows this. There are also several images circling around the main characters in the film, which look
futuristic and scientific and feature explosions and car chases. Comparing the two posters also shows
how technology and science has progressed through the decades and this is very apparent in the 1999
film poster, which looks far more advanced, as far as gadgets and weapons go.
The Dr No poster does not specify the genre so well. It could be for several different genres. It
indicates that it could possibly be a spy or mystery film, which is partly true of the James Bond
movies.

Blackstone and The Sale of Citigroup s Loan Portfolio
In the second half of 2007, the banking industry and financial market showed signs of considerable
stress by raising the default rate of mortgage and the decline in the value of residential mortgage
backed securities. This had led to a re pricing of many debt instruments. By the end of 2007, Citigroup
declared that the fair value of its U.S. sub prime related direct exposure could decline by 20%. This
affected Citigroup s financial results and would incur further losses in the future.

Therefore, it is reasonable that prices will recover, which, in the long run, would benefit Blackstone.
Why is the Citigroup seeking to sell the portfolio of leveraged loan?
Citigroup s leveraged loan exposure is composed of two main risks. First, holding these leveraged
loans could be costly from a regulatory capital perspective because they hold a 100 percent risk
weight. Citigroup would need $80 million of capital for every billion dollars of leverage loan. By
selling these leveraged loans, Citigroup would reduce capital requirement. Second, a decline in the
leveraged loan index (LCDX) value from 97 cents on the dollar to 92 cents on the dollar posed a $1.5
billion loss on its leveraged loan portfolio for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2007.
Furthermore, Citibank did not intend to hold theses loans. Like many others, Citigroup had suffered
unprecedented losses and was facing the prospect of having even more considerable losses. By selling
these loans, the bank s image was greatly improved.

resistance towards the reforms were squandered (Phillips 7). In order to encourage and inflict their

referred to as The guy from shipping who the main character is jealous of. His ex wife mentions this
character three times throughout the story which cause him to become enraged and foolish. For
example, Hey, I m not stupid. She said one thing about him and then another and right after the third
one I locked myself in the bathroom because I couldn t rage about this anymore (Butler 2). When his
wife begins to mention other males who lived better lives than that such of his, it caused him to
become very jealous. Even though his jealous causes him to become enraged, he doesn t say anything
because he feels that it is better to remain silent.
The parrot realized that when he was a human he was jealous of the relationship that he and his wife
had versus the one she had with other men. For example, and I quote

Evaluation Of The Game Like Learning Systems And The...
Introduction
The study of game like learning systems to improve the quality of learning of students is a fascinating
field of research. In this paper, I will discuss about the various concepts relating to constructionism
framework for designing game like learning system which is based on Li, Cheng, and Liu s (2013)
article on the same. The purpose of this article is to describe the approach of the game like learning
systems and the results achieved after the implementation of this system. This article is closely related
to the game design industry as most of the educational games aim to create a game like learning
system and it is further explained in this paper.
Specific Findings
Design
The article describes an experiment to determine efficiency of the game like learning systems, which
was conducted on first year students of an engineering school. Before the experiment the students
were taught about the basic algorithmic skills such as conditions and iterations for 1.5 month in
traditional lectures. Later, the students were introduced to a game like learning system called Train
build and program it. This system was designed to teach the students the use of algorithmic thinking
skills including object oriented concepts, conditions, iteration and object communication. Students
could either build trains using the drag and drop by using 3D blocks or they could use the
computational code to program the train system to run. The results were analyzed and compared with

How Is Blanche A Tragic Hero
Aristotle defined Tragedy as a noble character who fails in his goal because of a flaw in his character.
In the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, Blanche is defined as a Tragic Hero.
When the play begins, Blanche lost her family fortune and her young husband to suicide years earlier.
Blanche lives in a state of panic because she believes that she is a fading beauty, therefore, she hides
from the light. The Light is a symbol in this play for Truth . Blanche avoids the light because she
wants to avoid the truth. In the play, Blanche pretends to be a woman who never known indignity. She
spent so long lying to everyone else that she eventually begins to believed her own lies. Blanche

Tan Lim Goh Tong Essay
Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong (February 28, 1918 October 23, 2007) was a well known wealthy Chinese born
Malaysian entrepreneur. He was recognized for his vision and courage in transforming Genting
Highlands from a virgin jungle into one of the world s most successful casino resorts in Malaysia. He
established the Genting Group in 1965 to build hilltop resort that has a single hotel in 1971 and
expanded it where there are casinos, a theme park, several hotels, a convention centre and a golf
course. Tan Sri Lim was once the third richest man in Malaysia with a net worth approximate to be 4.2

While Tan Sri Lim planning this idea, many people started to misinform his plans by saying that he
wanted to turn this land of wilderness into a tourism resort. Most thought it was really risky and think
that Tan Sri Lim who was financially comfortable to be foolish to invest heavily in money and time to

Analysis of Bruce Springsteen s Song Devils Dust Essay
Analysis of Bruce Springsteen s Song Devils Dust
In times of war it is quite common for people to start questioning their values and their actions and be
unsure of the path they are taking. This is common because to protect our values we often are told that
we have to take actions that conflict with those values. One example would be how to protect our
liberties we must sometimes restrain those liberties during treacherous times. However, the ultimate
question is whether or not going against the very values we stand for is a hypocritical and wrongful
action plan. Bruce Springsteen approaches this very issue in his song Devils Dust , from the CD with
the same title, and he subtly criticizes how the United States is betraying ... Show more content on

The refrain goes like this, When I look into your eyes / There s just devils and dust . Eyes are often
used in poetry and in popular culture as a path to see what somebody really feels and how that person
is really like in the inside. If in a person s eyes there s just devils and dust it shows that that person is
troubled, haunted, and desolated. The visual image of devils and dust illustrates a godforsaken place,
which is what that person s soul has become. Following that the speaker tells his friend, Bobby, how
they are a long, long way from home . These verses can have two meanings: they can refer to a soldier
in a war (thus the relation with the Iraq War) or they could mean that we have strayed so far away
from our values, from what we were founded upon, that this is no longer home, it is now a strange
place. Many people argue, and with some justification, that the United States in the past years is
becoming less and less like the country it was founded to be. The verse, I feel a dirty wind blowing
once more takes us to the Iraq War since it evokes the image of a desert. It also relates, together with
the finger on the trigger , to the Wild West, which seems to be where Springsteen has gotten most of
the imagery for his CD (as it can be seen in songs with titles such as Black Cowboys and The Hitter ).
The Wild West used to be a treacherous place, which relates with the

Wound Dressing Research Papers
In order to achieve an effective healing of a wound, an appropriate material must be used to cover the
wound to prevent any infection. Due to new techniques, a wound dressing material is expected to have
very satisfactory properties in enhancing a healing of a wound. The wound healing time, wound type,
mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of the dressing must be taken into account when
designing an effective wound dressing (Zahedi, Rezaeian, Ranaei Siadat, Jafari Supaphol, 2009).
When choosing a suitable wound dress, there are several factors that must be taken into consideration,
such as creating an effective bacterial barrier, having no toxic or irritant particles, protecting

Hydrogels were the first biomaterials developed to use in the human body (Kopeček, 2007). As stated
by Sood et. al (2009), hydrogels are a very complex hydrophilic organic cross linked polymers which
consist of between 80 and 90% water base. An example of a commercial hydrogel is IntraSite® Gel,
developed by Smith and Nephew, shown in Figure 1 below. IntraSite® Gel is an amorphous hydrogel
and gently rehydrates necrotic tissues, helping autolytic debridement, and also is able to loosen and
absorb slough and exudate (Smith nephew.com, 2015).Hydrogels are able to absorb a minimum
amount of fluid by swelling, in addition they can moisturize a dry wound, thereby promoting autolytic
debridement and providing a moist thermally insulated wound. In addition, they are capable to reduce
the temperature of a wound by up to 5°C and promote epithelialization and granulation. However,
since they are permeable to gas and water, they are considered less effective bacterial barrier than
occlusive dressings (Sood et. al 2009). The main applications of hydrogels are the ability to donate
moisture to the wound, help disintegrate dry and dead tissue, and keep wound bed moist to help cell
growth (Covidien.com, 2015). Another benefit includes the ability to use them in conjunction with
topical medications or antibacterial agents. Regarding their drawbacks, they are unable to

Nutritional Analysis Project
After completing this nutritional analysis project, it opened my eyes to how many positive and
negatives are present in my diet. To begin, one of the positives of my nutritional status is the fact that I
get enough protein through the foods I eat. For example, on October 1, I ate 6 ounces of chicken
breast, which is high in protein. Furthermore, I also have a lot of vitamin B6 and B12 in my diet.
Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital for normal
brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. Iron is extremely important
in the body as it helps red bloods cells transport oxygen. One example of when I consumed a lot of
iron was when I ate corn flakes for breakfast all three days. On the other hand, this project also
uncovered numerous ways my diet falls short. One of these is the fact that I did not have enough ...

I only consumed 11 grams of fiber on September 29 and October 1, and 12 grams on September 30.
This falls much lower than the target intake level of 38 grams. As a result, I am going to add more
fiber to my diet. One way I plan to accomplish this is by adding flaxseed to my yogurt as a snack. This
will add 2.8 grams of dietary fiber per 1 tablespoon serving. Moreover, a final negative is how my
current sodium intake is too high. For example, it was 2953 milligrams on October 1, when my target
was to have less than 2300 milligrams. Consuming too much sodium can cause hypertension, so I
need to make a change. I can accomplish this by adding less salts to my foods and by removing
sodium rich foods in my diet. One example is in the salad dressing I have every day for lunch. In fact,
30 grams of ranch dressing has 328 milligrams of sodium. I am going to switch to Caesar salad
dressing instead, with only 158 milligrams of

Daily Food Recommendation
According to the 2005 US food guide pyramid, my daily food recommendations are 3 cups of milk,
5.5 ounces of meat and beans, 2.5 cup of vegetable, 2 cups of fruit, and 6 ounces of grains. After
compare my 3 days food records to the recommendation, I have had good amount of fruit and
vegetable daily. Nevertheless, my daily milk and grains intake are much less than the
recommendation. Also I had food in the meat and beans group more than the recommendation.
I could improve my daily intake by drinking more milk, but since milk is not my favorite drink I
would prefer having more yogurts instead. Moreover, I could have more grains especially whole grain
which is recommended to be half of the daily grains recommendation. Another daily intake that I
should improve is the grains group, instead of having plain English muffins as I used to, I should have
whole wheat English muffins. Also since I regularly have rice with most of my meals, I can substitute
brown rice for white rice. Not only brown rice is a good source of energy, but it is also the best source
for vitamins. Since I need to increase consuming more food in milk and grains groups, so in order to
restraint my energy intake, I probably need to reduce my meat and beans intakes. In order to
understand my daily intakes in each category better, I will use an average intake shown in the table
below from all three days records.

Leadership Styles And Theories Of Leadership Style
Firstly, aspiring leaders need to recognize all of the various styles of leadership that exist. Every
organization is structured differently, with differing employee behaviors, and it is the leader s
responsibility to implement the style that will work the best for their specific work or organizational
structure. Often, more than one leadership style is implemented to accomplish the desired results of
the leader (Blanken). While a multiple of leadership styles exist, three well known and commonly
practiced leadership styles that will be examined include the Autocratic, Democratic and the Laissez
Fare. These three leadership styles were discovered by psychologist Kurt Lewin in the late nineteen
thirties (Cherry). Psychologist Lewin completed a study that involved assigning various
schoolchildren to one of three different groups (Cherry). While each group was led by a particular
leadership style, researchers witnessed and recorded all behavior that was exhibited by the children
during their assigned projects (Cherry). Beginning with the Autocratic or Authoritarian leadership
style, the leader sets clear guidelines for the results that he or she is searching for. For example, the
leader will clarify what processes or tasks should be completed, the deadlines for the assigned
processes or tasks, and also the process for how to complete the assigned processes or tasks. This
leadership style employs a clear separation between the leader and group of individuals under his
guidance.

The Secret Truth About Napping Analysis
Sometimes I think that sleeping isn t important because I thought that sleep wouldn t help your body.
Well I was wrong to say that because it does help your body. The amount of sleep you get each day
impacts over the course of your life. I was asked if sleep had a huge impact on your health. Well my
answer is yes it does have a huge impact. Some people don t have enough hours of sleep, some have
too much, and some don t know how much their suppose to sleep. Despite the fact that some people
think that sleep isn t important, I m going to prove that sleep is important According to Source 1, if
you routinely lose sleep or choose to sleep less then needed, the sleep loss will add up. The total sleep
loss is like your sleep debt. For example, if you lose 2 hours of sleep each night, you ll have a sleep
debt f 14 hours after a week. Some people night take naps as a way to deal with sleepiness. Naps can

renew a person s energy. For example, if the brilliant scientist Albert Einstein didn t take naps he
would ve never had invented the light bulb. If the amazing artist Leonardo Da Vinci didn t take naps,
eh would ve been too sleepy to paint the Mona Lisa. The human body operates according to the

Tradeoffs Between Relational and Object-Oriented Database...
Discuss the tradeoffs between relational and object oriented database management systems
1) Stating Position
The object oriented DBMS is superior to the relational database on some specific counts, primarily
because it can satisfy the complex demands of the market today better than the any other. Secondly
while the relational data base stores data as tables, the object model stores data as objects and creates
associations. This can create a multiple set of attributes for each object such that the data base is more
flexible to the requirements that may be housed for different sets of data having both similar and
dissimilar characteristics. The paradigms then are developed for each set of common characteristics
and unique characteristics of the objects which is not possible in a relational database that has a very
rigid structure. (Bruegge, 2004)
Earlier the heterogeneous systems integration is a major issue. Therefore it has to be considered if the
system proposed is amenable to multiple platforms and will give the same results. There are many
applications available to enforce this, but it is to be borne in mind that in a data management system
many components have to be integrated with the system and the layering of these components
becomes critical. (Thuraisingham, 2001) But the requirements today have gone beyond the traditional
DBMS and the system is expected too seamlessly perform varied functions like tracking functions,
data analysis and reporting, vendor

What Is Criminal Justice Essay
I believe that criminal justice is all about dealing with sustaining the law involving police, lawyers,
courts, and corrections. Criminal Justice in my substantial belief is all about a system that s brought up
by law for bringing the people in society to justice. Criminal Justice is all about bringing the criminal
up and conducting what must be done to uphold justice to the people. Criminal Justice is distinct from
criminal law, which I believe defines the specific behaviors that are forbidden by and punishable
under law. Criminal Justice begins when a crime is reported to the police or when a police officer
discovers that a crime has been committed. Criminal Justice also has to do with the control of criminal
behavior. Criminal Justice objective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you think about police officer what do you know about them, are they law enforcement or
criminal justice? Well if you ask me, I believe, in my opinion that a police officer is a person that
focuses on protecting the people and bring forth criminals that break the law. Police officers are in
charge of enforcing laws within their city. If you go to a neighboring city, say like Chicago, that city
has its own police force. Police officers are often charged with the criminals and detection of crime,
protection and assistance of the public. Police officers are normally sworn with an oath, and have the
power to arrest people and detain them for a limited time, along with other duties and powers. Some
police officers may have special duties, for example, such as law enforcement. The reason why they
play apart in law enforcement is because police officers are those who are empowered by the
government to enforce the laws. Police officers play a certain central role in the law enforcement
system, like monitoring criminal activity. Police officers when they first get their job they have one
job that they have to do every day, which is to serve and protect the citizens of

remains of her former home. She soon discovers a letter left on the escritoire that was dated for the
same day she had arrived. Kathleen reads the mysterious letter and soon realizes it is a letter from her
supposed dead fiancé, a soldier, from two decades ago (Bowen 3). The letter is vague and she had not

the promise made was the promise for Kathleen to marry the soldier, but when the soldier was
presumed dead, Kathleen had no obligations to wait anymore, and she could move on with her life.
Mrs. Drover romanticized soldiers and I believe she was only infatuated with the idea of her old fiancé

Long Term Memory Storage System
The skill to remember the people, events, and locations come across the path of everyday life is a
primary structure of cognition that shows behavior. The aggravation dealt with in problems (school,
friends in the halls or work, coworkers in the break room) provides as a concise reminder of our
reliance on memory. Long term memory storage system is characterized by long duration, large
capacity, and accessibility. Over the years, several different types of long term memory have been
distinguished, including explicit and implicit memory, declarative and nondeclarative memory (with
further subdivision of declarative memory in episodic and semantic memory. (Mastin. 1) Long term
memory can store an incredible amount of information over an extensive period. Long term memory
is everything we remember that occurred just minutes ago. Long term memories can be kept for a few
days or many years. Although we may forget things every day, it is possible that long term memory
essentially perishes as the years go by and can accumulate a limitless amount of information without
stopping. Many can argue if we in fact forget something at all, or it just becomes gradually harder to
recover things from our memory.
Long term memory is accountable for three areas, which are encoding, storing and retrieving.
Encoding is the capability to change information into an information structure. Storage is the ability to
collect large pieces of information. Recovering allows us to remember things

Freedom, democracy and human rights were the ideals that Burma is lacking under the reign of the
military junta led by Ne Win and his Socialist Party for fifty years. The socialist ideals have only

human rights and to take effective actions against the government through non violent confrontations.
In Freedom from Fear speech, Suu Kyi begins by speaking the truth of how fear corrupts all those
wielding power and those that are being controlled. As Burma is under the oppressive regime, she
claimed that people may not be able to fight back with arms, but what they can do is to get rid of fear
from their minds, and embrace courage to bear a real revolution which can only be succeeded if it is
born of conviction that a change is desperately needed. Truth, justice and compassion are the only
barriers that can stand up against the government as a government that is established with force and

Industrial Revolution started machines began doing jobs that humans did. Firearms used to be made
by hand and each was unique so they could not easily be fixed. Interchangeable parts were first used

Car manufactures also started using assembly robots. In 1901 Ransom Olds made and patented a

Mental Film Analysis
If you were to make a movie on your life, would you act as you normally would or would you change
it up a bit?
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Tari Kao Wong and today s discussion is about
whether or not Australian films describe the reality of Australian lives. Representations of families in
Australian films and television programs are unrealistic. The films do not accurately represent life in
Australia, the settings in Australian films are rundown and the people in the films are just insane.
In the film Mental, there is a family of seven people, there are five daughters and a mother and a
father. This family is not exactly a normal family; in this family they consider themselves as mental
people. In the movie Mental, the mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a family that is very weird and crazy. People in the family are trying to make themselves
disabled to get more money because they live in the ghetto. Living in the ghetto could accurately
represent some peoples living conditions in life, but in Australia there can be some nice
neighbourhoods and nice people. The suburb that they live in is very rundown and is full of drug
addicts. The people in the neighbourhood even throw bricks at the ambulance. There are also old
ladies in the film Housos that are making a drug delivery; you wouldn t usually see old ladies carrying
around drugs or making deliveries for bikie gangs or any gangs. There is also a lot of bad language in
this film. The people in the film are swearing at the cops and are even climbing buildings to get away
from them. Normal people would cooperate with the police in a nicer manner. In the film Housos the
family got some money from one of the relatives and bought a stripping pole and put it in the middle
of the living room. Normally people would not spend their money on putting a stripping pole in the
middle of the living room, some people would either save up or buy a house but spending it on a pole?
That is a very strange way of living in the

The Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is responsible for making some of the most important cases that set the tone for
society, as it continually ensures that the Constitution remains the law of the land. Many landmark
decisions have been made by the court that have impacted society in some of the most significant
ways; some of these cases include Marbury v. Madison (1803), Brown v. Board of Education (1954),
Miranda v. Arizona (1966), and Roe v. Wade (1973). Key decisions that are being made don t simply
impact the plaintiffs and defendants; rather they continually impact the public and the present and
future of these issues that have been decided, setting the tone for the rest of us. These important
decisions that have and are being made continue to cause much controversy as not all will be agreed
on by the public or even other political figures/branches for that matter. And with the way that the
court is organized, specifically with lifetime tenure, it can easily make the decisions look to be
immune from public opinion. Yet, at this same time, the court must look at how society operates as
well as its norms and values, which are impacted by these decisions. And from that aspect, it doesn t
seem that public preference is completely thrown out the window; it takes the ability of the public to
identify these concerns/issues that need to be addressed, as is the case when it comes to public policy
making.
The nine justices of the Supreme Court make the most important decisions impacting the U.S.

Disadvantages Of Health Information Exchange
Health information exchange (HIE) is the electronic sharing of health information between different
healthcare organization and providers. The primary goal of HIE is to provide effective, timely, safe,
and secured healthcare information to ensure a patient is receiving the best care possible. This concept
is not new, it has been around since the early 90 s and with the advancement of computer technology,
and it is becoming the way of the future. Even with all the benefits associated with HIE, there are
however still some challenges that need to be addressed. Benefits of HIE The use of HIE helps aid
provider and healthcare facilities to provide fully coordinated patient care. For all parties involved in
HIE there can be great benefits, this includes the patients, providers, and other entities such as state,
government, and public health. Patients: Improved payment coordination Improved clinical outcomes
Improved transition of care Reduction or elimination of duplicative or unnecessary procedures or test
Providers: Reduced health care cost Improved patient safety by reducing medication and medical
errors Access to valuable clinical data Improved monitoring of patient movement and disease
management State/Government/Public Health: Improved understanding of clinical needs Access to
public health and population health data in a timelier manner Structure and types of HIE There are
currently three main forms of health information exchange: directed exchange, query

Essay On China s Emergence As A Global Power
China s emergence as a global power has coincided with a somewhat heavy handed foreign policy
towards its neighbors. Internal disputes have included a political crisis in Hong Kong over the right to
vote, minority oppression in Inner Mongolia, and unhealthy air quality. China s rise has changed the
Asian power dynamic. Chinese foreign policy towards North Korea, protective in nature, has drawn
criticism. Worried about instability in Korea driving untrained refugees into China, its leadership
opposes any transformative actions in the region. China s policy towards Japan increasingly features
hostile rhetoric, as the two countries struggle for influence in the region. China s rising position as a
world power is most visible in the South ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
International Law does not support China s claims. The principle of effective occupation was
established by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Island of Palmas in 1928. Effective
occupation entails an ability and intention to exercise continuous and uninterrupted jurisdiction, which
is distinguished from conquest. China has occupied the Paracel Islands, an archipelago of thirty
islands between China and Vietnam, but it has not occupied the Spratly Islands, an archipelago off the
coasts of the Philippines and Malaysia. It once occupied nine islands between 1988 and 1992, but the
islands are now occupied by various other claimants. China s claims are also disputed by the United
Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Under UNCLOS, claims to resources are based on
exclusive economic zones and continental shelves. China s claims far surpass its exclusive economic
zones and continental shelves, overlapping with the legal claims of other ASEAN states. China s
claims rely on historical interests, which carries no weight under international law.
Another problem stems from the natural resource potential of the sea. Estimations of oil in the region
present varied statistics, but everyone agrees that the area has oil. According to the Ministry of
Geological Resources and Mining of the People s Republic of China, the sea may contain 17.7 billion
tons of crude oil. The United States Energy Information Administration

Swot Analysis Of Trader Joe s
Strength
Some main strengths of Trader Joe s are the strong brand image, their employees, organic and private
label products, customer loyalty, and offered unique products. Trader Joe s strong brand image helps
them to attract and retain more customers. Their private labels are named according to the background
and nationality of food. They offered an extensive line of private label items with brand names such as
Trader Joe s, Trader Ming s, Trader Jose, Trader Giotto. Due to their strong brand image, they
established themselves as a leading retailer of food and non food items in the US. Americans ranked
Trader Joe s overall as No. 1 retailer in 2013 (Ager Roberto, 2014). Trader Joe s offered unique and
high quality products from different countries which attract customers to try new items and stocks of
4,000 items, 80% of which bear one of its own brand names. Trader Joe s describes itself as your
neighborhood grocery store (Wikipedia, Trader Joe s). Trader Joe s claimed that 80% of its customers
had attended college. The company described its target market as intelligent, educated, inquisitive
individuals and they reach this customer by opening store among well educated residents (Ager
Roberto, 2014). Their customers are too loyal towards their brand image so they keep coming back.
Instead of targeting all customers, they need to target new customers in order to grow their business
and to keep being a leader in the retail industry in the US. And also, their employee are valuable assets
of the company, who led them towards the further growth of the company, therefore they are treated
fairly and trained to provide the nice and friendly service to Trader Joe s customers. Almost most of
the people want to work at Trader Joe s because they pay more than minimum wage and higher
compare to other retail stores. New part time hires earned $12 per hour and full time employees
earned approximately $50,000 per year which is above minimum wages. Plus, they contribute 15.4%
of employee s salary towards retirement Saving. Furthermore, they offer good health and others
benefits even to part time employees (Ager Roberto, 2014).

Many wonder about the dark life of Anastasia Romanov. She had a powerful impact in many people s
lives, kindling a spark of curiosity in historians minds. The truth is hard to understand, but when it is
found, it is rewarding. So uncovering the truth of Anastasia makes for an interesting story. Anastasia is
a mysterious person who began her life as a normal girl, but quickly was made into one of the biggest
conspiracies in history. Anastasia s life begins in a time of suffering. She was born in Petrodvorets,
Russia. Since she was born in Russia, she was exposed to many Russian Communist politics. She
lived in a very busy part of town in Russia. She was born on June 18, 1901, which was the same year

Nicholas II was a poor leader, and he was aggressive to the people. For example, his armies were
weak in World War I, and he had citizens who complained about work conditions killed. Also,
inflation rose and many died of starvation during his time of leadership. Czar Nicholas was a bad
leader and caused a lot of frustration throughout the country. Because of the bad reputation of
Anastasia s father, her whole family had a bad reputation. Rebellion started and Czar Nicholas had to
make a choice. In March 1917, the army garrison at Petrograd joined striking workers in demanding
socialist reforms, and Czar Nicholas II was forced to abdicate ( Czar Nicholas II abdicates ). People
wanted change, yet Czar Nicholas couldn t give them what they wanted. Anastasia s family was still
endanger, even if they were not in power anymore. Lies were made up to trick the Romanov family
and it caused even more trouble. Anastasia s family was guided to the basement, and they were told it
was for their protection from the revolution. The rebellions were a serious matter, so Anastasia s
family believed them. Since this was so serious, they had to trust their advisors and go to the
basement. When they went down to the basement, they were shot at and killed. The Bolsheviks were
angry with the leadership of Russia and took it as their responsibility to make a change. Tricked and

A Conservationist s Stance On Dam Removal
A Conservationist s Stance on Dam Removal
Dams. They re such a controversial topic in today s society. Some people think they re doing good for
our world, while others believe that they re negatively impacting the atmosphere in which we live.
They don t take into consideration all the harms they re doing for creatures such as fish. Animals aren
t the only things they re affecting. These dams are playing a huge role in transportation for shipping
goods. It s not a good thing at all. In fact, people s recreational activities are also being limited due to
the dams.
Dams are harming salmon in so many ways. They re taking away their habitat. The salmon s access of
the rivers are suddenly gone. In the Northwest, a large portion of dollars are spent in a year to fix all
the damage to the salmon, caused by the dams on the Snake and Columbia rivers. For decades, there
have been numerous debates about taking down these dams to help the fish, because they re part of the
endangered species act. There are biologists that notice how some salmon are trying to survive in
rivers located in the Northwest that have been changed by dams. These fish are simply delaying
migration back to the sea, growing larger in order to survive their trip back to the Pacific Ocean, and
going back to their birth streams at higher rates than ever. All these salmon could be saving
themselves instead of people spending billions of dollars. The consequences of this could be very
important. The recovery of salmon

Problem Statement On Maintenance Management 1.0: Introduction The introduction chapter begins with the background to the research project, this looks at maintenance and its importance to a manufacturing or production environment. This goes on to look at the formulation of the problem statement which gives an insight into the impact of maintenance on the production cycle. The problem discussion is therefore narrowed down where the problem formulation and research question will be presented. Some shortcomings about the research project are also stated herein. 1.1: Background and Statement of the Problem The economic downturn and the dynamic business environment drive companies to seek more efficient and effective maintenance methods (Van Horenbeek et al., 2010). • 4. Connotation In Richard Cory Richard Cory is a narrative pom written by Edwin Arlington Robinson. The poem was first published in 1897, as a part of The Children of the Night, having been completed in July of that year. Robinson s most popular poems, recall the economic depression of 1893. At that time, people could not afford meat and had a diet mainly of bread, often day old bread selling for less than freshly baked goods. This hard times experience made the townspeople even more aware of Richard s difference from them, so much so that they treated him as royalty. The Poem describes a person who is wealthy, well educated, mannerly, and admired by the people in his town. Robinson uses connotation extensively to place Richard Cory high on a pedestal above the townspeople. Connotation is the use of words to suggest meanings beyond the dictionary definition. To lower the townspeople, Robinson places them downtown. This suggests that Richard Cory is coming down, or lowering himself, to the level of the townspeople when he comes into town. He also places people on the pavement, which is lower than the sidewalk where Richard Cory most likely walks. Robinson positions the characters to show the differences in their financial status. He also shows that it is the townspeople, and not Cory, that seem to define these positions. Cory is perceived as distant royalty, he is perceived as a gentlemen,an aristocraft above those who worked, unable to communicate with common people. The author uses this as the suggestion that something is wrong with Richard Cory as he seems like the perfect gentlemen, but he commits suicide one one calm Night. Although it is written by an American poet and set in an American town, connotation is used to suggest a noble, royal image of Richard Cory. His name, Richard, is the name of many kings. Also, Richard contains the word rich, which suggests his wealth. There are many other royal connotations and images in this poem including: sole to crown, imperially slim, and schooled in every grace. Crown, imperially and grace all suggest royalty. Robinson uses denotation, or the use of words for the exact meaning to emphasize this image of Richard Cory being local royalty. Richard Cory was a rich, well educated man. ... Little did we know at the time that the compact, puzzle like levels would eventually find new life in a full fledged game, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Now, Captain Toad and Toadette, his partner in plunder, have hit the road on a quest of their own, and it s one of the most charming and enjoyable games to grace the Wii U. The two tiny explorers squawk and trot to all corners of the Mushroom Kingdom in search of golden treasure, and occasionally to rescue each other from danger. While it has a gleeful exterior, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker s also a deceptively challenging romp, especially if you attempt to uncover all of the game s hidden items. The Toads outing is distinct from other adventures in the Mario universe for many reasons, but one in particular stands out: their abilities are pared down to the basics. (Hilaire Bakala et al 2012) Exposure to stressful situations during early life can have intense health consequences and is impaired throughout life. However some cases of this impact do not become evident until much later in life or decades later, when the individuals begin to show signs of accelerated ageing. (Katherine A. et al 2014). While understanding the relationship between early life and longevity has important implications in the field of aging, we have still little information about the mechanisms involved in the prolonged times scales of stress aging. There is proof that compulsory military service would be in our nations best interest. If however, a draft was imposed, with these deferments eliminated, then the burden of military service would fall less on the minorities and the impoverished, but rather on all men of military age. Professor Charles Moskos, a former draftee, and currently a professor at Northwestern University makes several good arguments in support of the draft. He points out the large number of volunteers who fail to fulfill their initial enlistments: A reality often overlooked in the all volunteer force is that one third of entering members fail to complete their initial enlistments. Contrast this with the one in 10 draftees who did not complete their two year obligation. It s much better to have a soldier serve a short term honorably than be discharged prematurely for cause . He raises an excellent point when he says that it would be detrimental to allow our troops to be dishonorably discharged. Another excellent point brought up by Professor Moskos. He argues that because for some jobs it takes a higher level of technical skill, that cant possibly be met by short term service, higher compensation should be offered to those who serve longer. Higher compensation should be aimed at those whose skills require extended training and job experience. A two track pay system could be devised to give long term enlistees higher compensation than their drafted counterparts (many of whom, however, may have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Citigroup would need $80 million of capital for every billion dollars of leverage loan. By selling these leveraged loans, Citigroup would reduce capital requirement. Romania s Struggle With Communism To the world outside, the masked country of Romania, although rarely viewed in media, was known as a picturesque country filled with many profitable resources such as its fertile land, petroleum, and mineral deposits, however, behind the Iron Curtain, lay a more secretive nation, deprived of its rights, ignored by its leaders, and suffering under the taxing regime of Communism. Before Communism was administered, Romania had a trivial communist party which was often overlooked in politics. In its claims to make Romanian children receive the finest education in the world, Communist leaders, including Stefan Voitec, the Minister of Education, limited the access of education and narrowed educational rights in order to indoctrinate Communist values and instill a sense of faithfulness to Communism in the Romanian youth. Throughout the years 1947 to 1989, although the regime was not embraced, communistic beliefs were integrated into the educational system forcefully, and all resistance towards the reforms were squandered (Phillips 7). In order to encourage and inflict their values upon students, special privileges were given to Communist children, trained professors in universities and secondary schools were purged and replaced with pro Communist politicians and intellectuals, and university acceptance was based off of political alliances rather than pre university scores, ensuring that educational advances would only be provided to Communist learners. The Church, which promotes Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, stating that everyone has the right to education, teaches that the gift of knowledge is a basic human right that all individuals must receive despite their religious, ethnic, or political disagreements, however, when educational facilities deny the acceptance of a bright individual who supports a different regime, it is seen that ... A Career As A Spanish Language Teacher When I was younger I observed and experienced the Spanish culture and found such interest in expanding my education to later on pursue the career of a Spanish Language Teacher. After researching the responsibilities, the work conditions, salary, the outlook, and future; a career as a spanish language teacher would be interesting, and the perfect training would be at St. Mary s University at San Antonio. Tasks and responsibilities for this career are all very different and must be done on a daily basis when getting the students to comprehend and understand the new teachings. Foreign Language Teachers must make sure to interpret the terminology and translate it into the student s natural language to help them understand better in their learning. They must also provide instruction in the literature and also in the history of the culture so that the students will be learning correctly. Professors should also tests students frequently to see their progress so that they know exactly where they re at. These tests and other activities will show the teacher if the students understand to read, write, and most importantly the overall understanding in the dialect. In Jealous husband Returns in form of Parrot Robert Olen Butlers main character is a parrot whose character traits consist of jealousy, insecurity, and lack of confrontment. The Author creates a story that is told from a perspective that is informative but also vivid. The development of the story allows the reader to visually analyze a picture as the story is being told. The overall theme of the story is that relationships are tough when they consist of certain traits. This is shown through the story s character, tone and symbolism. Within the text there is a character referred to as The guy from shipping who the main character is jealous of. His ex wife mentions this character three times throughout the story which cause him to become enraged and foolish. For example, Hey, I m not stupid. She said one thing about him and then another and right after the third one I locked myself in the bathroom because I couldn t rage about this anymore (Butler 2). When his wife begins to mention other males who lived better lives than that such of his, it caused him to become very jealous. Even though his jealous causes him to become enraged, he doesn t say anything because he feels that it is better to remain silent. In this paper, I will discuss about the various concepts relating to constructionism framework for designing game like learning system which is based on Li, Cheng, and Liu s (2013) article on the same. The purpose of this article is to describe the approach of the game like learning systems and the results achieved after the implementation of this system. This article is closely related to the game design industry as most of the educational games aim to create a game like learning system and it is further explained in this paper. Specific Findings Design The article describes an experiment to determine efficiency of the game like learning systems, which was conducted on first year students of an engineering school. Before the experiment the students were taught about the basic algorithmic skills such as conditions and iterations for 1.5 month in traditional lectures. Later, the students were introduced to a game like learning system called Train build and program it. This system was designed to teach the students the use of algorithmic thinking skills including object oriented concepts, conditions, iteration and object communication. Students could either build trains using the drag and drop by using 3D blocks or they could use the computational code to program the train system to run. The results were analyzed and compared with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Bruce Springsteen s Song Devils Dust Essay Analysis of Bruce Springsteen s Song Devils Dust In times of war it is quite common for people to start questioning their values and their actions and be unsure of the path they are taking. This is common because to protect our values we often are told that we have to take actions that conflict with those values. One example would be how to protect our liberties we must sometimes restrain those liberties during treacherous times. However, the ultimate question is whether or not going against the very values we stand for is a hypocritical and wrongful action plan. Bruce Springsteen approaches this very issue in his song Devils Dust , from the CD with the same title, and he subtly criticizes how the United States is betraying ... Eyes are often used in poetry and in popular culture as a path to see what somebody really feels and how that person is really like in the inside. If in a person s eyes there s just devils and dust it shows that that person is troubled, haunted, and desolated. The visual image of devils and dust illustrates a godforsaken place, which is what that person s soul has become. Following that the speaker tells his friend, Bobby, how they are a long, long way from home . These verses can have two meanings: they can refer to a soldier in a war (thus the relation with the Iraq War) or they could mean that we have strayed so far away from our values, from what we were founded upon, that this is no longer home, it is now a strange place. Many people argue, and with some justification, that the United States in the past years is becoming less and less like the country it was founded to be. The verse, I feel a dirty wind blowing once more takes us to the Iraq War since it evokes the image of a desert. It also relates, together with the finger on the trigger , to the Wild West, which seems to be where Springsteen has gotten most of the imagery for his CD (as it can be seen in songs with titles such as Black Cowboys and The Hitter ). As stated by Sood et. al (2009), hydrogels are a very complex hydrophilic organic cross linked polymers which consist of between 80 and 90% water base. An example of a commercial hydrogel is IntraSite® Gel, developed by Smith and Nephew, shown in Figure 1 below. IntraSite® Gel is an amorphous hydrogel and gently rehydrates necrotic tissues, helping autolytic debridement, and also is able to loosen and absorb slough and exudate (Smith nephew.com, 2015).Hydrogels are able to absorb a minimum amount of fluid by swelling, in addition they can moisturize a dry wound, thereby promoting autolytic debridement and providing a moist thermally insulated wound. In addition, they are capable to reduce the temperature of a wound by up to 5°C and promote epithelialization and granulation. However, since they are permeable to gas and water, they are considered less effective bacterial barrier than occlusive dressings (Sood et. al 2009). The main applications of hydrogels are the ability to donate moisture to the wound, help disintegrate dry and dead tissue, and keep wound bed moist to help cell growth (Covidien.com, 2015). Another benefit includes the ability to use them in conjunction with topical medications or antibacterial agents. Regarding their drawbacks, they are unable to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital for normal brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. • 27. Leadership Styles And Theories Of Leadership Style Firstly, aspiring leaders need to recognize all of the various styles of leadership that exist. Every organization is structured differently, with differing employee behaviors, and it is the leader s responsibility to implement the style that will work the best for their specific work or organizational structure. Often, more than one leadership style is implemented to accomplish the desired results of the leader (Blanken). While a multiple of leadership styles exist, three well known and commonly practiced leadership styles that will be examined include the Autocratic, Democratic and the Laissez Fare. These three leadership styles were discovered by psychologist Kurt Lewin in the late nineteen thirties (Cherry). Psychologist Lewin completed a study that involved assigning various schoolchildren to one of three different groups (Cherry). While each group was led by a particular leadership style, researchers witnessed and recorded all behavior that was exhibited by the children during their assigned projects (Cherry). Beginning with the Autocratic or Authoritarian leadership style, the leader sets clear guidelines for the results that he or she is searching for. For example, the leader will clarify what processes or tasks should be completed, the deadlines for the assigned processes or tasks, and also the process for how to complete the assigned processes or tasks. This leadership style employs a clear separation between the leader and group of individuals under his guidance. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Tradeoffs Between Relational and Object-Oriented Database... Discuss the tradeoffs between relational and object oriented database management systems 1) Stating Position The object oriented DBMS is superior to the relational database on some specific counts, primarily because it can satisfy the complex demands of the market today better than the any other. Secondly while the relational data base stores data as tables, the object model stores data as objects and creates associations. This can create a multiple set of attributes for each object such that the data base is more flexible to the requirements that may be housed for different sets of data having both similar and dissimilar characteristics. The paradigms then are developed for each set of common characteristics and unique characteristics of the objects which is not possible in a relational database that has a very rigid structure. (Bruegge, 2004) Earlier the heterogeneous systems integration is a major issue. Therefore it has to be considered if the system proposed is amenable to multiple platforms and will give the same results. There are many applications available to enforce this, but it is to be borne in mind that in a data management system many components have to be integrated with the system and the layering of these components becomes critical. (Thuraisingham, 2001) But the requirements today have gone beyond the traditional DBMS and the system is expected too seamlessly perform varied functions like tracking functions, data analysis and reporting, vendor ... So the Assembly robots can adjust if there is a minor change for example a metal bar was located a few inches from where it should be it can easily respond to this instead of just trying to pick up something that is not there. We do this by adding a control loop feedback mechanism. This saves a lot of time and effort for the programmers. Almost every manufacturing line has some type of robot that they use to be able to produce products faster and easily. These types of robots are good for a repeated task that humans would get tired of doing and start to make mistakes. The robot decreases or eliminates the mistakes that a human will make on a repeated task. Some products that are made with assembly robots are Cars, Ships, Toys, and some engine parts. • 39. Mental Film Analysis If you were to make a movie on your life, would you act as you normally would or would you change it up a bit? Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Tari Kao Wong and today s discussion is about whether or not Australian films describe the reality of Australian lives. Representations of families in Australian films and television programs are unrealistic. The films do not accurately represent life in Australia, the settings in Australian films are rundown and the people in the films are just insane. In the film Mental, there is a family of seven people, there are five daughters and a mother and a father. This family is not exactly a normal family; in this family they consider themselves as mental people. In the movie Mental, the mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a family that is very weird and crazy. People in the family are trying to make themselves disabled to get more money because they live in the ghetto. Living in the ghetto could accurately represent some peoples living conditions in life, but in Australia there can be some nice neighbourhoods and nice people. The suburb that they live in is very rundown and is full of drug addicts. The people in the neighbourhood even throw bricks at the ambulance. There are also old ladies in the film Housos that are making a drug delivery; you wouldn t usually see old ladies carrying around drugs or making deliveries for bikie gangs or any gangs. There is also a lot of bad language in this film. The people in the film are swearing at the cops and are even climbing buildings to get away from them. Normal people would cooperate with the police in a nicer manner. In the film Housos the family got some money from one of the relatives and bought a stripping pole and put it in the middle of the living room. Normally people would not spend their money on putting a stripping pole in the middle of the living room, some people would either save up or buy a house but spending it on a pole? • 40. The Supreme Court The Supreme Court is responsible for making some of the most important cases that set the tone for society, as it continually ensures that the Constitution remains the law of the land. Many landmark decisions have been made by the court that have impacted society in some of the most significant ways; some of these cases include Marbury v. Madison (1803), Brown v. Board of Education (1954), Miranda v. Arizona (1966), and Roe v. Wade (1973). Key decisions that are being made don t simply impact the plaintiffs and defendants; rather they continually impact the public and the present and future of these issues that have been decided, setting the tone for the rest of us. These important decisions that have and are being made continue to cause much controversy as not all will be agreed on by the public or even other political figures/branches for that matter. And with the way that the court is organized, specifically with lifetime tenure, it can easily make the decisions look to be immune from public opinion. Yet, at this same time, the court must look at how society operates as well as its norms and values, which are impacted by these decisions. And from that aspect, it doesn t seem that public preference is completely thrown out the window; it takes the ability of the public to identify these concerns/issues that need to be addressed, as is the case when it comes to public policy making. The nine justices of the Supreme Court make the most important decisions impacting the U.S. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Internal disputes have included a political crisis in Hong Kong over the right to vote, minority oppression in Inner Mongolia, and unhealthy air quality. China s rise has changed the Asian power dynamic. Chinese foreign policy towards North Korea, protective in nature, has drawn criticism. Worried about instability in Korea driving untrained refugees into China, its leadership opposes any transformative actions in the region. China s policy towards Japan increasingly features hostile rhetoric, as the two countries struggle for influence in the region. The principle of effective occupation was established by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Island of Palmas in 1928. Effective occupation entails an ability and intention to exercise continuous and uninterrupted jurisdiction, which is distinguished from conquest. China has occupied the Paracel Islands, an archipelago of thirty islands between China and Vietnam, but it has not occupied the Spratly Islands, an archipelago off the coasts of the Philippines and Malaysia. It once occupied nine islands between 1988 and 1992, but the islands are now occupied by various other claimants. China s claims are also disputed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Under UNCLOS, claims to resources are based on exclusive economic zones and continental shelves. China s claims far surpass its exclusive economic zones and continental shelves, overlapping with the legal claims of other ASEAN states. China s claims rely on historical interests, which carries no weight under international law. Another problem stems from the natural resource potential of the sea. Estimations of oil in the region present varied statistics, but everyone agrees that the area has oil. According to the Ministry of Geological Resources and Mining of the People s Republic of China, the sea may contain 17.7 billion tons of crude oil. • 46. A Conservationist s Stance On Dam Removal A Conservationist s Stance on Dam Removal Dams. They re such a controversial topic in today s society. Some people think they re doing good for our world, while others believe that they re negatively impacting the atmosphere in which we live. They don t take into consideration all the harms they re doing for creatures such as fish. Animals aren t the only things they re affecting. These dams are playing a huge role in transportation for shipping goods. It s not a good thing at all. In fact, people s recreational activities are also being limited due to the dams. Dams are harming salmon in so many ways. They re taking away their habitat. The salmon s access of the rivers are suddenly gone. In the Northwest, a large portion of dollars are spent in a year to fix all the damage to the salmon, caused by the dams on the Snake and Columbia rivers. For decades, there have been numerous debates about taking down these dams to help the fish, because they re part of the endangered species act. There are biologists that notice how some salmon are trying to survive in rivers located in the Northwest that have been changed by dams. These fish are simply delaying migration back to the sea, growing larger in order to survive their trip back to the Pacific Ocean, and going back to their birth streams at higher rates than ever. All these salmon could be saving themselves instead of people spending billions of dollars. The consequences of this could be very important. The recovery of salmon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
