Characteristics Of Inspirational Women In The 19th Century

Inspirational Women Women in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries have faced many obstacles.
Many of these obstacles included inequality of the sexes, slavery, and unheard voices and most
importantly recognition. These women all have different stories to tell. Many of these stories
progress into greatness despite the difficulties and hardships to hear that voice of victory they ve
searched their whole life for. As I observe writers in the 17th 19th century, I ve learned these women
struggle with the darkness of being unheard for many years hiding behind their husbands,
masters, and etc. because society prefer to treasure men over women who work twice as hard as
they normally would do. Phillis Wheatley had to fight in court to prove she wrote her poems
because people didn t believe a slave could write poems that speak to the human soul. In her first
book , Poems of Various Subjects, Religious and Morals in the poem Imagination she is letting
readers know that she imagines herself having a free soul that travels through the air to meet god in
heaven. Soaring through air to find the bright abode,Th empyreal palace of the thund ring God
(Line 15 16). She became the first African american author to have her work published in 1773.
Secondly, in 1797, Sojourner Truthwas born in Swartekill Ulster County New York. Sold at the
age nine Isabella Baumfree. She was born into slavery along with her other siblings. She

Octopus Evolution
People have been comparing the octopus to an alien life form for years most notably mollusk
expert Martin Wells, grandson of H.G. Wells, who ate his subjects after he experimented on them.
Wells anecdotally referred to octopuses as the only alien intelligence that humans have encountered.
But try as he might, Wells who devoted his life to the study of cephalopods could not tap the
origins of the creature s intelligence.
Now, a new breakthrough in octopus genome mapping has revealed that the strange creatures have
more secrets than we ever realized.
Scientists at the University of Chicago, the University of California at Berkeley, and the Okinawa
Institute of Science and Technology have fully mapped the DNA sequencing of the Bimac octopus,
better known as the California two spot octopus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alien????? Everything Octopus
For starters, the DNA of an octopus contains nearly 10,000 more gene codes than that of a human.
Various clusters of these gene codes perform different tasks and octopus genes are specially
equipped to do very versatile things. For instance, six different octopus gene codes combine to
produce an octopus s ability to rapidly camouflage itself. Another gene type, protocadherin, allows
the development of neurons and neural transmissions.
Most mammals, including humans, only have 70 or so protocadherins. The octopus has 168. And
the octopus has one of the largest gene families devoted to development of any animal we ve
mapped so far second only to the elephant.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the DNA of an octopus is essentially like a road map where
the road signs keep hopping around. The octopus has an extremely large number of jumping genes,
called transposons, that can easily change their position in a protein chain. Researchers also found
evidence in the octopus s RNA suggesting that they can easily alter their own protein sequences. In
the researchers press release, Caroline Albertin, who co led the study,

Ex Machina Character Analysis
To begin, the film Ex Machina works with Al in an interesting way. The ultimate goal of the
protagonist, Caleb, is to judge whether the Al in the film, Ava, is capable of thought and
consciousness, as well as if he can actually relate to an Al. Nathan Al s appear advanced. For
example, Ave is able to tell whether Caleb is lying or not when she asks him questions.
Additionally, she is able to demonstrate intelligence by having Nathan fall for her. She knows
exactly what to do and what to say to make him sympathize with her. In the end, all she wanted
was to escape, and it is shown that she did not care about Caleb; she just wanted to manipulate him
into aiding her escape. This demonstrates that she is capable of thought since she was able to...

It appeared futuristic, but not too futuristic. For example, Nathan s building appear futuristic, due to
the AI s and advanced technology, but also appears modern, for example, the bathroom and
bedroom. The colors of the film were very clean and mostly were composed of white, red, and
orange. For example, whenever Ava turned off the cameras, the room would glow red. This can
indicant trouble, or warnings, which is what Ava was trying to give Caleb. The room Ava is
locked up in has an orange glow to it, which makes the room appear calm. Additionally, white in
the film makes the film appear futuristic. For example, the hallways appear white with lights, and
Ava wears a white bodysuit, and Kyoko wears a white dress. The editing of the film is not fast
paced, which gives the audience a chance to witness the relationship between an AI and human
grow. It also gives the audience a chance to see what humankind s ambition is and if it is actually a
good ambition or a bad one. The framing often shows the AI and humans in close quarters, which
further strengthens the relationships that happen between them. For example, the framing of the
film always shows Ava and Caleb close to each other, even if there is a glass separating them,
which shows the audience their relationship

Goose Hollow Reflection
For my neighborhood study of Goose Hollow, I completed a research project to answer my
research question, What is day to day life like in Goose Hollow? . This paper will reveal the story
of my data through showing common themes between my research team s data to highlight
noticeable conclusions drawn from my research methodologies.
In analyzing my data, it is important to note my positionality. I am a nineteen year old female
college student living in a downtown area of a city. I identify as being middle class, Jewish,
heterosexual, and Latina. These key aspects of identity were important to take into consideration
while collecting and analyzing my data because it can affect interpretation. For my research in
Goose Hollow specifically, my social location as a middle class Latina was the most relevant. An
awareness of the tensions inherent in research, and reflection on these tensions is important
(McAullffe and Coleman, 2008, pg. 26). Being aware of my social location and following the
ethics and protocol necessary in a research project, allowed me to be reflexive during my study.
When making conclusions about my data to determine the narrative, I looked at how every research
methodology contributed to the themes of my neighborhood. In the very act of constructing data
out of experience, the qualitative researcher singles out some things as worthy of note and
relegates others to the background (Wolcott, 1994, pg. 13). For the purpose of my paper, I chose
to focus on two themes but that does not discredit the rest of my data. The two themes that
appeared in all the data shared between my research team, were the ideas that Goose Hollow
serves as an in between place for people trying to get from point A to point B and the active
gentrification present in the neighborhood. To begin, I focused on participant observation
methodology. The physical location and businesses of Goose Hollow makes it a convenient place
for people to stop. The grab and go pizza place, Starbucks, corner store, and many modes of
transportation make it a hub for commuters in their day to day life. When analyzing my group s
data, a considerable amount of instances relating to transportation were observed. Ellen Koukel
observed the MAX

Essay about Rising Tide Chronicles Flow of Changes
Rising Tide Chronicles Flow of Changes
John M. Barry s Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How It Changed America,
takes us back 70 years to a society that most of us would hardly recognize.
In 1927, the Mississippi River flooded 27,000 square miles from Illinois and Missouri south to the
Gulf of Mexico. No one expected the government to help the victims. President Calvin Coolidge
even refused to visit the area. As a result, the flood created and destroyed leaders:
Herbert Hoover, Coolidge s secretary of Commerce, was considered politically dead until he took
over rescue/relief efforts. His competence and public relations skills sent him to the White House in
1928. (But his duplicity in dealings with black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even today, seventy one years after the flood waters receded, the river basin continues to feel the
consequences of that flood.
Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How It Changed America by John M. Barry
is the far reaching tale of that disaster. As the subtitle indicates, the book not only is a history of
the disaster itself, but also is a social history of the
Mississippi River Delta region over nearly a century from 1830 1930 and beyond, for the tale of
man versus Ol Man River just keeps rollin on.
If you pick up the book hoping to read a lot about the meteorological aspects of the flood, you will
likely be disappointed. If you are looking for a book on the engineering control of the Great River,
I suggest John McPhee s The Control of Nature.
But if you are looking for a book which uses the backdrop of a major disaster to tell the social
history of the Mississippi Delta Region during a critical period, then seek out this book.
To put the tale into proper prospective, the Mississippi Basin Flood of 1993 carried 435,000
cubic feet of water per second past Iowa and one million cubic feet per second past St. Louis after
the contribution from the Missouri River. The Great Flood of 1927 sent three million cubic feet
per second past Greenville, Mississippi.

Family And Authority In Antigone
Antigone Essay Family and authority are common themes and misconceptions in the play Antigone.
When comparing the essential themes of family and authority, Creon and Ismene characterize the
theme of authority, while Antigone and Haemon value family. In the play Antigone, The protagonist
Antigone defends her rights to have a proper burial ceremony for her brother Polyneices who was
killed in war. Creonuses his authoritative power and puts a curse on whoever buries Polyneices,
will perish. Antigoneproves that authority from Creon cannot stop the reckless love and concern for
her family. Creon and Ismene encounter many instances of authority, and obeying the laws in order
to please the Gods. Throughout the play, Creon and Ismene portray

James Halliday s Ready Player One
Throughout Ready Player One, small keys are shown to have great importance. Firstly, there are
the three keys that a player must find to acquire the egg. Secondly, there are small items and bits
of knowledge that prove to be immaterial keys necessary to complete the task. One such item
greatly stands out in the challenge Wade faces: the quarter. Most readers would forget about this
little, ordinary object, but at the end of the novel, it is known how vital this quarter really was.
In addition to being an important aspect in the conclusion of Ready Player One and Wade s
ultimate victory, the quarter appears to have a mysterious religious connection. To obtain this
quarter, Wade goes through a long and grueling task of playing a perfect game of Pac Man on a
special machine. He found this old Pac Man machine on Archaide, a planet with a museum of
James Halliday s awards and classic video games, while looking for clues to find the next key.
Right away, Wade realizes that this game is an egg within OASIS, just not Halliday s egg, because
of the strange, unmovable quarter placed on top of the machine and the fact that machine said it

be like him one day. It is also apparent that Anorak s Almanac is his bibleas Wade directly says that
the Almanac had become my bible (61). Not only did he constantly read it, but he could also quote
many passages, just like Christians can quote Bible verses. These three primary connections show
that although Wade does not like religion, he has created his own that many people in the OASIS

Us Vs Nixon Case Study
The case behind the Watergate scandal is the supreme court case United States vs. NIxon. This is
a famous case because president Nixon was the one being accused. It all started in June of 1972
when a handful of men came armed with bugging equipment and cameras into the Watergate hotel.
They worked for president Nixon. Their mission was to bug a democratic committee office. Nixon
was trying to eavesdrop on his competition in the election. The men were caught and arrested. It
wasn t until 1973 that Nixon was accused of being apart of the scandal. Investigators discovered
that NIxon installed a recording device that automatically saved his conversations with the men
involved with the scandal. Nixon refused to release any of the tapes. He claimed... Show more

The petition between both sides were clear. The United States was the Plaintiff. They are claiming
that executive power is not absolute. Nixon was the defendant. He claimed that executive privilege
is absolute.
The question of the court was, Is the president s right to safeguard certain information, using his
executive privilege confidentiality power, entirely immune from judicial review. On july 24, 1974
The supreme court ruled against Nixon and in favor of The United States. The justices were,
Burger, Douglas, Brennan, Stewart, White, Marshall, Blackmun, and Powell. It came down to 8 0,
all the justices voted in favor of the United States. Burger was the one who wrote the majority
opinion. He wrote that, Presidents do enjoy a constitutionally protected executive privilege, but that
privilege is not absolute. After the case was final, Richard Nixon released all of the tapes. It was
confirmed that he was involved with the watergate scandal. He had contact with the men that he
ordered to bug the committees office. He shortly resigned after everything releasing the tapes. He
became known as the first president to resign in history. This case is very famous and will go
down in history forever. It was reenacted in one of my favorite movies, Forrest

Myasthenia Gravis Case Analysis
Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune disease of the neuromuscular junction which usually causes
muscle weakness and other problems. Some of the people who have Myasthenia Gravis experience
respiratory failures. It s very crucial that these patients stay away from interventions that might
worsen the disease process. In 2014 a 62 year old woman with a history of metastatic thymic
carcinoma and myasthenia graviscame to the emergency room in Houston, Texas. For two days this
lady had been experiencing weakness, difficulty swallowing, and shortness of breath. They admitted
her into the intensive care unit because she had the symptoms of a myasthenia crisis. That evening
they ran a test and there was a substantial decrease in the patient s vital capacity. The patient
wouldn t agree to be intubated or ventilated. On the third day in the ICU the patient was granted a
trial of non invasive ventilation, but this did not improve her condition. So finally she agreed to be

She felt as if her symptoms of difficulty swallowing, weakness, and hoarseness were getting
worse. Her vision was also getting worse. She was given another plasma transfusion and the
symptoms were resolved. She was transferred from the ICU at day 7 and released 3 days later.
I actually understood this article a lot more than the others minus the parts where it would talk
about certain medications and certain amounts of the medication. I feel as if it s very sad that we
can t cure myasthenia gravis. I feel bad that people have to live with this and there s nothing they
can do besides taking medication daily for the rest of their life unless they want to have flare ups
and symptoms. This disease would affect everyday life especially if you were having a flare up.
You would feel as if you couldn t walk or as if you were too heavy to walk. Back whenever I lived
in Manila I grew up very closely to my neighbors Mr. Walker and Mrs. Julie.

Jesus The Son Of God Research Paper
Whether or not Jesus was truly the Son of God is a question that theologians and philosophers have
been trying to answer for centuries. One might also ask the question, Was Jesus even a Divine
Man? Interestingly enough, Jesus was not the only man though to be divine in nature. People living
in the Greco Roman world reference ancient sources to highlight their belief that numerous
individuals obtain divine qualities and characteristics. The person of Jesusis one of the most
influential characters in human history and this is why it is so important to investigate whether
or not he was who he said he was. In this paper, I will work to highlight some of these examples
of other divine men and leave it up to you to decide whether or not Jesus was divine himself....

In both the stories of Jesus s birth and Alexander the Great s birth it is said that they had been
conceived through the agency of a God. To begin, let s look at Luke 1: 34 35, How will this be,
Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on
you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will
become the Son of God. This is a reference to the virgin birth. Jesus was thought to be born of a
virgin and therefore was only conceived because the Holy Spirit gave her a child. Similarly, in
the legend of Alexander the Great s birth, it is believed that a God had lain with the mother of
Alexander in the form of a serpent; which then gave way to the birth of Alexander the Great.
Does this not also make Alexander that Great a Son of God? These similar stories make it less
unique of an idea that Jesus was born by the agency of

Surrealism And Surrealism
In 1925, the original surrealists forged a clear and resounding document, stating, among other
things, that the surrealist movement is a revolution, unarguably. They asserted that their movement
was not one of poetic form. Furthermore, that it was not even a literary movement. They firmly
established, in the infancy of Surrealism, that it was not an aesthetic endeavour. It was a revolution
of the mind. Surrealist actions and thoughts function in the absence of any aesthetic or moral
concern. This idea was thoroughly tested with the many events to come. It was tested when
Salvador Dali went so far with a lack of moral concern as to support Hitler himself, earning himself
an excommunication, after a characteristically dramatic trial. It was tested when Andre Breton,
honorary founder of Surrealism, stated that The purest surrealist act is walking into a crowd with a
loaded gun and firing into it randomly. This has since, regrettably, been forgotten. We have
forgotten, somehow, the broken bones, the muddied faces, the chaos, and the legitimate taboos in
which Surrealism languished. We have forgotten how, historically, we have stared in the face that
which no one else dared to glance at. We have cast aside that which hurts us, for we do not care to
include it in our reality. We have also become much more tolerant, since Breton s death in 1966, of
that which is not actually surrealist. At the risk of sounding anti progress, I say that the movement
has become less pure

The Women s Rights Movement In Iron Jawed Angels
When thinking about feminism in today s society we tend to direct our minds and thoughts to a
more radical and powerful train of thought. Feminism has been going on for centuries, with two
main ideologies at the forefront; liberal and cultural feminism. Someone who identifies as a liberal
feminist is someone who believes that women and men are a like and equal in most respects and
deserve equal roles and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). And cultural feminismis
someone who identifies as someone who believes that men and women are fundamentally
differently; you have different rights, role and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). The
women s rights movement can be understood and broken down into three waves .
The first wave of women s movements in the United States took place from approximately 1840
to 1925. When looking at this wave from the Liberal Ideology, they fought for women to have the
right to vote, access to high education, equal employment opportunities and property rights. During
this wave the infamous, and ground breaking, Seneca Falls Convention took place in New York in
1898. Here, 32 men and 68 women gathered to catalogue these specific events that women were
not allowed to participate in. It is also during this wave that the Golden Globe Winning film Iron
Jawed Angels, takes place.
Iron Jawed Angels, is the story of Alice Pauland Lucy Burns suffrage struggle beginning in 1913.

Example Of Personal Statement
My father was raised in a predominantly Dominican neighborhood in New York City. Along with
other immigrant families, he grew up in the basements of tenement buildings. When he left home
at 17, set out to quickly assimilate into what he viewed as mainstream America. This included
raising me as an American first. As a result, I lacked a connection to my culture. I knew nothing
about Dominican culture, food, or music. I yearned to learn more about my cultural identity.
Fortunately, I attended one of Seattle s most diverse public high schools. Students there spoke
more than 15 different languages. While I was unable to connect with students from the
Dominican Republic, by befriending students who had come from all over the world, I learned a
great deal about the world and other people s lives. Through my personal quest to learn more

Animal Extinction and its Effects on the Human Race
Animal extinction is a tremendous problem in our society. Every year, more and more animals are
going extinct. If we don t do something to stop it, we could see a massive animal extinction in our
lifetime. Many people believe the extinction is irrelevant to human life. They are wrong. Every
species in our universe is part of a web. If one specie on the web goes the whole thing slowly starts
to fall apart, humans included (Bove).
We live in a magnificent place. I close my eyes. I feel the wind surround me, the birds chirping,
the horses galloping up on the near mountaintop. I open my eyes, and I see the prettiest baby dear
so perfectly still just staring at me through the blades of grass, oh there he goes. Wow, I turn around
and I see two beautiful elephants flapping their huge ears at one another. There is the most adorable
white chocolate colored bunny sniffing the most stunning violet flowers I have ever seen. I want to
stay right here in this unbelievable moment forever.
I wake up. It s all gone. I look out my window, and my heart sinks. There are no birds, horses,
deer, elephants, bunny rabbits, flowers or grass, there isn t even that much wind. In my world
these species only exists on a screen or in a dream. Nobody has ever seen any of these creatures

Beware of the dog
Travel bloggers beware! El Perro Negro (The Black Dog) is a gigantic dog that shoots fire from his
mouth and eyes and lurks in the otherwise tranquil Antioquia nights in search of lost travellers.
Are you planning on walking the streets of MedellГn at night, thinking to yourself that the only risk
is indeed wanting to stay? Well think again. That chilling howl that pierces the night; the sound of
a heavy chain being dragged slowly along; those thudding footsteps that mimic your heart as it

A Purpose Driven Life Dr. Seuss wrote in his book Happy Birthday to You, Today you are You,
that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You. Every essence of our being,
from our personalities to our DNA is different from everyone else in this world. Many of these
distinctions are apparent in the classroom setting and at times can prove challenging for a
teacher. Some students may learn the lessons very quickly while others may take extra time and
may need out of class help. These differences will affect their ability to learn and grow as a

In order to accommodate the students who may not have the resources that wealthier students
have, I will either provide the resources (print out articles, give them books, allow them to use
class time to go to the computer lab etc.) or alter the assignment so it does not require them to
use resources they don t have. Two of the most common learning disabilities are ADHD and
hyperactivity. For students who are inattentive it is important to put specific topics in a
checklist style and perhaps on a printout or in worksheet form so they can go through the topics
at home. Doing worksheets at outside of class or even just alone may help them pay attention.
Also, for the students who tend to watch the clock it may be beneficial to begin the lesson with
a checklist of all that will be covered in class that day. That way, they can mentally check off the
topics instead of count down the minutes until class is over. Some good strategies to use with
children who are impulsive include giving immediate feedback for their behavior, especially
positive reinforcement. (McAllister 2012) Also, for these students it may be necessary to post
behavior rules or guidelines somewhere in the classroom. Some of these methods appear to be
somewhat elementary so to alter them to fit a high school setting, I would have the students come
up with their own rules to give them a sense of responsibility. Another idea is to have points or
tokens earned for good

`` The Birthmark `` And `` Rappaccini s Daughter ``
Hawthorne s books are inspired and fascinate to read. They are full of science fiction and tail of
fantasies. The female characters have to face many challenges in their lives due to their natures.
The human morals and man ambition are clear in The Birthmark and Rappaccini s Daughter on
which the two stories are similar in away. The two stories appear to be similar because
innocence characters have to suffer. The hiding meanings are deep within each character and in
each story. The two stories maybe different; however, the moral behind the two stories are closely
related. The female characters are pure at hearts and innocence just like nature. However, the male
characters are like the devil that creeping upon what is natural and pure and destroy it. It is very
clear to see that Hawthorne s stories embrace the female characters and their beauties. On other
hand, he reviews the males evil ambitions; they are only seeking for their own glories by using
sciencein created and change nature. Indeed, without any doubt, each of the stories, the male
characters caused their loveones to parish due to their evil ambitions. In both of the stories by
Hawthorne, both female characters are automatically pure at heart and their beauties are an
outstanding example of goddess. Interestingly, Beatrice and Georgiana are happening to be victims

European Collectors Of The 16th And 17th Centuries
European Collectors of the 16th and 17th Centuries:
Perhaps two of the most noteworthy art collections in the 1500 s were the collections of the
Medici, well know patrons of the arts and of many well known artists; also the Habsburgs of
Austria Known then as the Holy Roman emperors who were known for having an eclectic
collection ranging from scientific tools and exotic stuffed animals to religious artefacts and
Paintings. Then in the seventeenth century in Britain another famous collector comes forth,
Charles I who had a taste for art that showed the divine right of kings and had a love for Rubens
and Van Dyke s painting style. I have selected these Rulers due to the fact that they were not only
collectors but were also patrons of artworks which shows a complete devotion to art, not in just
admiring art from the past which had become noteworthy through the popularity of the artist; but
because the encouraged contemporary artists, and as such had a lasting impact on art despite them
not being directly behind the works.
The Medici family were the rulers of Florence during the Renaissance due to their influence in
banking. They were well known for their patronage to artists, some famous artist being Donatello,
Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci. The vast commissions of artworks started out as
being for atonement for the sin of usury, however as the Renaissance moved on and art started to

John Orr Arsonist
I believe that John Orr does fit the profile of an arsonist in many ways, and not in other ways.
John Orr was a blue collar arson investigator, he also attended investigator conventions and
investigated one of his own fires; he kept the mask of sanity for quite some time. Orr burned
retail stores, specifically in sections where there was foam, he seemed comfortable with this type
of location and comfortable with the everyday items he used to start the fires; cigarettes, matches,
yellow paper, and rubber bands. John Orr wrote a manifest about how he would get sexually
excited at fires, becoming erected and even masturbating to the flames as they surrounded him.
Many arsonists keep mementos of their fires, Orr videoed before and after shots

David Edelstein Reel Time Analysis
Okay, so the title is a bit of a misnomer as David Edelstein no longer maintains his online blog Reel
Time for the Slate. His CV includes stints as a critic for Boston Phoenix, The Village Voice, Rolling
Stone, Slate, (Aradillas, Reel Time with David Edelstein) and his current employment at New York
Magazine, writing for their online entertainment section, Vulture. With the surge in popularity of
superherofilms in the past decade, and several more plotted for the future, it is becoming
increasingly more difficult to capture the audience s affection. The current fad in this genre of
films is ensemble flicks. This year alone saw the release of four ensemble superhero blockbusters.
David Edelstein has seen his share of superhero films, in a career spanning almost four decades.
This year all of his reviews on superhero films are unsurprisingly intertwined, comparing them to
one another. With Captain America: Civil War being the blockbuster to open the summer market (in
the States anyways), expectations were set at what Edelstein believes to be another average film in
the money making minded Marvel franchise. Trying to build on the (monetary) success that the
Avengers films have made, Edelstein criticises that the studio spent more money on the appearance
of Iron Manand the second tier heroes than an inventive plot. This is something... Show more

This is something he brings up in both his reviews for Civil War and Apocalypse. In Civil War,
the main idea (which can be applied to all superhero films) is whether heroes should be held
accountable for their actions, namely the collateral damage caused, despite saving the world. Who
are the real villains in these stories? Edelstein is annoyed that these vigilante films never give us
the answer to that question or even acknowledge a grey area. By the end of these films, that idea is
usually swept away or becomes another

The chances of successfully enforcing the contractual agreement between Casino Ltd. and its

CA s596AB prohibits a person from entering into agreements with the intention of, or with
intentions that include the intention of: (a) Preventing the recovery of employees entitlements; or
(b) Significantly reducing the amount of entitlement that the employees can recover.
CA s596AC states that a person will be liable to pay compensation for contravention of s596AB: *
to employees who suffer loss or damage because of it * for actions taken to give effect to an
agreement or transaction involved in the contravention.
Applications
Casino Ltd. and Caterers Ltd. are separate legal entities. The fact that Casino Ltd wholly owns
Caterers Ltd. gives rise to the concept of corporate groups existing between the two companies.
Regardless of this, one company is separate from the other company and the concept of corporate
veil applies.
The court may pierce the corporate veil when there is an implied agency relationship inside the
corporate groups. By applying the 6 point test from SSK case in an orderly manner, Casino Ltd.
may have argued that the profits earned by Caterers Ltd. are separate from them, given that
distribution was made in the form of dividends. However, in reality the profits belong to Casino
Ltd. This is because all the profits are given to them and Caterers Ltd. gets nothing. This means that
the first criterion is satisfied. Additionally, since all the

Interview With A Dentist
Introduction Dentistry is concerned with the health problems that relate to teeth, mouth, and the
gums; it deals with correction and care of dental diseases. These aspects define the work of a dentist
which relates to that of other healthcare providers such as physicians and nurses. Dentists are
involved in diagnosing and treatment of mouth tissue problems. In addition, they contribute to
preventive care; they advise the patients on how to ensure good oral hygiene, instruct them on the
tight diet and the best ways to brush their teeth. They also perform surgeries on the gums and
supporting bones. In summary, the activities of a dentist include an examination of patients teeth,
filling cavities, repair of teeth that are fractured and removal of decayed teeth. Indeed, oral health

British East Indi A Period Of Political Stability
After a period of political stability in United Kingdom, the government began colonizing all
different areas of the world. Some places such as, the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa and southern
Asia were all very common places for colonization not only just for United Kingdom but the rest of
Europe. Beginning in the 1700 s the British started to gain economic relationships with India. The
British East India Company set up a massive trading network and thrived off of an abundance of
resources and highly demanded goods that they found in India. Indian cotton, silk, peppers, spices,
and indigo were extremely successful in European trading markets. This success in the trading
markets fueled English interest in India and led to expansion into mainland India. Weak Mughal
rule allowed for the British East India company to gain more control and political power in their
colonies. After a period of harsh, militaristic rule from the trading company, the sepoys fought back
to re establish Indian political control and to rid India of the British. Queen Victoria sent troops to
fight the rebellion and successfully put it down. This led to more and more British politicians sent
to India to rule and to encourage western education and religion. Series of nationalist movements
occurred to help bring back Indian culture. These movements never caught on with Indian civilians
until the mid to late 20th century. British rule left India in shambles and caused political instability

Secretary of the Army Frank Pace and Secretary of the Air Force Thomas Finletter came up with
the first of two agreements that further defined organic aviation within the Army. In the letter
signed on 2 October 1951, it was evident that the Army was trying to improve its combat efficiency,
and the Air Force was mainly concerned with job security. The agreement s first paragraph echoed
this sentiment, insuring, the U.S. Army may employ aircraft necessary for its internal requirements
in the conduct of operations on land, without infringement upon the missions assigned to the U.S.

could accomplish, including aerial observation, adjusting artillery fire, providing command and

Impacts And Effect Of Fracking
Impacts and Affects of Fracking Hydraulic fracturing is one of the main reasons for the rapid
increase in gas and oil production in the recent times. Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a
technique, which helps in recovering gas and oil from shale rocks. The process of fracking
requires drilling into the Earth before high pressure liquids directed at the rock help to release
the gas trapped inside it. Water, sand and various other chemicals injected into the rocks, with
great pressure, that allow the gas to flow out of the well. The process can be carried out vertically
and horizontally, however it is common to use the latter as it helps in creating more ways to
release gas. In 2011, the United Statesproduced 8.5 million cubic feet of natural gas, a value of
nearly $36 billion, from shalegas alone. As a result, the U.S. is now the world s top manufacturer
of natural gas. Imported gases compose merely 8 percent of total natural gas consumption in the
United States. Since America does not rely on imported gas, the United States has balanced it
trade as the U.S. domestic supply has grown to meet its demand. Business magnate T. Boone
Pickens stated, Natural gas is the best transportation fuel. It is better than gasoline or diesel. It is
cleaner, it is cheaper, and it is domestic. Natural gas is 97% domestic fuel. Fracking has led a
wave of job creation through the country. As a whole, fracking has directly, and indirectly,

Hospital problems are reduced because when job security exists, the employees, like shareholders,
are concerned about the long term success of the firm. With the commitment from the Hospital for
job security, application of laws becomes a relationship that both the employer and employee has to
manage.
Application of Laws
Many employers are required to develop affirmative action plans (AAPs) that identify problem
areas in the employment of protected class members and initiate goals and steps to overcome those
problems. Memorial Hospital is no different. Memorial follows all laws on sex/gender
discrimination, which have addressed issues regarding pregnancy discrimination, unequal pay for
similar jobs, and sexual harassment.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that most employers identify the essential
functions of jobs and make reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities, unless
undue hardship results.
Implementation of equal employment opportunity requires appropriate record keeping, such as
completing the annual report (EEO 1), and keeping applicant flow data. Below is the Civil Rights

Analyzing Andrews The Existential Crisis
In The Existential Crisis , Andrews (2016) explains how modern society struggles to figure out
the self. Existential crises produce anxiety within an individual until the crisis has been
resolved. Three versions of existential crises have been identified: sophomore crisis, adult
existential crisis, and later existential crisis. The sophomore crisis occurs when it is hard to
identify the dimensions of the self which is usually in the late teens to early 20s. This can be
resolved by helping the individual figure out future events. The adult existential crisis occurs in
the late 20s. Proponents of the sophomore crisis carry over to the adult existential crisis with an
intensity of identity questioning. crisis. The later existential crisis is the reflection over one s

Analysis Of The Movie Spirited Away And Ponyo
Director Miyazaki illustrated in Spirited Away and Ponyo how love, identity, perseverance, and
adversity can conquer anything. At the beginning of the movies, we see how food and water set
Chihiro, Sosuke, and Ponyo s entire adventures, and the conflict they endure and how they were
perceived in the spiritand humanworlds. The spirit world was less tolerant of anything different
whereas the human world was more welcoming; however, they both illustrated the same message
about how people should be more open minded and to be more accepting. An example in Spirited
Awayshowed how the Spirit world viewed Chihiro as nothing more than just a human being who
came to their world to cause trouble, according to Yubaba; whereas in the human world, Ponyo
was welcomed by Sosuke, even though at the start of the movie, Ponyo was appeared to be a
goldfish, nevertheless she was still welcomed by a human. The narrator showed his audience
how difficult it was for Chihiro in the spirit world, in Spirited Away , but, Ponyo was the

Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning
The purpose of history is to understand the past so that we can take wisdom from those
experiences and improve the present and the future. The events that occurred during the Final
Solution are so horrendous that often it is viewed as so repugnant that we label the people
involved as purely evil, they are dehumanized. This is dangerous, as it doesn t allow us to obtain
wisdom, perspective, and empathy for those involved. Ordinary Men allows an opportunity to see
these events from the eyes of the perpetrators and their journey that led to what seems to people
today as ruthless, unscrupulous murder. When in fact these people were literally ordinary men who
were introduced to unordinary circumstances which caused them to abandon their humanity. If we
discredit these people as inhuman we fail to learn the lessons of human nature so we can avoid
them in the future. Winston Churchill embodies the lessons learned from Ordinary Men as he said
Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The massacrein Jozefow was first to
introduce the men of Battalion 101 to mass murder. The orders were that males of working age
were to be sent Lublin to serve as work Jews, while the women, children and the elderly were to be
exterminated by gunshot immediately. Major Wilhelm Trapp, the battle commander, found these
orders repulsive and one of his officers having learned about the upcoming massacre asked to be
reassigned to avoid the impending violence; his request was

Microsoft s Visual Basic And Oracle s Java Essay
The need for more powerful and user friendly software grows exponentially every year. This
means that there is a higher demand for better quality and more versatile software. Higher quality
software that is versatile and consistent was very difficult to create for developers before object
oriented programming was created. The object oriented programmingmethod of utilizing objects
and methods has revolutionized the way programmers create new applications. By allowing
objects to be reusable and flexible, this allows more time to be spent on creating meaningful
coding tasks with less time coding GUI s (Gaddis Irvine, 2014, p. xvii). Microsoft s Visual Basic
and Oracle s Java are object oriented programming languages that are very powerful applications
which contain many similarities while having small differences in the syntax and the usage of
elements that are common to both. Microsoft has been producing software for many years. They
have a multitude of applications such as Excel, Word and Visual Basic. The first version of
Visual Basic was introduced in 1991 by Microsoft and is still being utilized to create applications
today (Gaddis Irvine, 2014, p. xvii). By offering backwards compatibility throughout different
versions of Visual Basic, it is easy to update and utilize the new features of this versatile software
(Gaddis Irvine, 2014, p. xviii). Visual Basic is software that creates applications by using the Object
Oriented Programming methodology. Today this is a

The Brain And Its Anatomy
Our brains have the enough power to make all of the many different parts of our body function
the way it should. It can make our body do involuntary actions that constantly keep us alive and
healthy, and we don t even realize all of the things that it is capable of. As Nicolaus Steno once
said, The brain, the masterpiece of creation, is almost unknown to us (web.stanford.edu, 2014). The
brain and its anatomy were first studied by the Egyptians in 1700 B.C., and ever since then, its
immeasurable power has been continuously astonishing us with new and amazing discoveries of
previously unknown capabilities (faculty.washington.edu, 2014). The first person to dissect the
brain to study relationships between the brain and optic nerves was... Show more content on

And, since this experiment is about how hand eye dominance affects the hand eye coordination
used when shooting a basketball, the occipital lobe is one of the most important parts of the brain
in regards to this experiment.
Everyone knows that the typical human being has a dominant hand. The only case in which a
person does not have a dominant hand is if that person can use their right and left hand equally
well. In this case this person is ambidextrous. But, the typical human also has a dominant foot, ear,
side of the brain, and eye. (web.stanford.edu, 2014) Eye dominance, or eyedness, is the tendency to
prefer visual input from one eye to the other. This is similar to left or right handedness. For people
who have anisometropic myopia, a different amount of nearsightedness in each eye, the eye with
more myopia or nearsightedness is the dominant eye (web.stanford.edu, 2014). The easiest way
to test your eyedness is to create a small triangle with your hands, with your thumbs as the base
of the triangle and your left hand s fingers overlapping your right hand s fingers , and center it
around an object, such as a doorknob, about 5 10 feet away with both eyes open. Then, close
your left eye. If you can still see the object with your right eye opened, then your right eye is
your dominant eye. If the object moves out of your view, then close your right eye. You will most
likely see the object with your left eye, in which case your dominant eye is your left eye

Advertising Strategies For The Highest Product Sales
Thesis: Advertising strategies that lead to the highest product sales are the ones that utilize
effective branding and represent products honestly and clearly, capture the viewers attention, and
remain in viewers memories. Advertisers spend millions of dollars creating effective television
ads and commercials so consumers will purchase their products. Television advertising, the most
powerful form of advertising, enables both audio and video advertising messages. Unlike other
means of advertisements, like the newspaper, radios, websites and magazines, television
advertising is quick and memorable. Based on research reports, millions of people watch television

One of the television advertising strategies that leads to the highest product sales is to utilize
effective branding and represent products honestly and clearly so that the product is represented
clearly in the commercial. An example of this is Tony the Tiger for Kellogg s cereal. Tony the
Tiger appears in commercials as an animated character interacting with children in a live action
world. To be able to do this, Kellogg and other cereal companies spend millions of dollars
annually in advertising. By having characters like these, viewers are able to immediately identify
what brand is being presented. Another example is the Bounty commercial form Procter and
Gamble. This commercial compares Bounty and bargain paper towels by showing them being
used beside each other. This Bounty commercial shows that Bounty paper towels are 50%
stronger and more absorbent than bargain paper towels because the commercial creators know
that consumers would choose the brand that is known as the strongest. Bounty is a little higher
priced, but the commercial indicates that a person can use the towels longer than the bargain
brand towels. These commercials make people aware of the brand and cause the viewers to be
more likely to choose it over others. Many commercials do not present their brand name clearly,
and this leaves viewers confused as to what the commercial is selling. For

Foils In Catch 22
In the book Catch 22 by Joseph Heller, nearly all of the characters in the book serve as foils
toward the main character Yossarian. The central idea of Catch 22 that Joseph Heller is trying is
prove is that war is crazy and pointless. He shows this with the fact that all of the character in the
book except for Yossarianand Orr are crazy. One of the very important foils in this book is
Dunbar, who is Yossarians closest friend. Other than being Yossarians closest friend in the war,
Dunbar is a foil to Yossarian because he has extremely similar philosophies and ways of acting.
Because the characters are so similar, often times throughout the book many of Yossarian s
philosophies and ways of acting are discovered through Dunbar, which makes him a foil.
Dunbar as a foil to Yossarian is shown in many ways, one of which being that they both have a
twisted sense of humor which only they understand. A way this is shown is with their ironic fear
of death, in which they fail to understand why people are shooting at them. Heller uses Dunbar s
sheer will to keep surviving in the face of death as a comparison to Yossarian. It is a comparison
because Dunbar keeps trying to extend his life, like Yossarian, but eventually gives up hope and

Dunbar shows himself as a foil when he says that was A. Fortiori...I pulled my rank and chased

no guilt for betraying his army or pretending to be sick. This shows Dunbar as a foil because he
reflects Yossarians character and is able to influence him. Joseph Helleronce again proves the

Social exclusion has made major influence on politics from the late 1990s (Stephenson 2007).
SecrГ©taire d Etat a l Action sociale of the French government, RenГ© Lenoir is said to have
used the term social exclusion in publications over twenty five years ago. Since then has had a
major impact on explanations of individuals who feel separated from society especially through
poverty and deprivation (Sen, 2000). Silver (1995) also suggests that individuals who feel
socially excluded may be lacking of basic needs of livelihood and but not limited to, participating
in democratic agendas. The term Social Justice can be traced back to the twentieth century where
the pursuit began by individuals, communities and societies, some argue that perhaps the fight for
social justice maybe ending (Miller, 1999). Robert Merton s work had major influence on the
school of functionalism, especially in America during the 1940s and 1950s especially as
functionalism was mainly concerned with social order (Tierney, 1996). Merton s focus was crime
and deviance even though he was not a criminologist; his ideas were first published in 1993 in an
article titled Social structure and anomie which illustrated his connection to Durkheim. A book
called Social theory and social structure was later published which discussed strain theory, the first
attempt to answer the prominent question of how society impacts individuals to act in a deviant
/ criminal manner.

The company staked most of its outlay to the latest TV set, WT 23, in developing, producing and
marketing the product that turned out to be very infamous to the market. In total, the firm spent
more than 80 million Baht for WT 23. Although many electronic experts criticize product s lack of
innovation and poor performance and many journalists see the future of the company as a
downturn, the company promised the new product launch to be a big step for media technology.
Success
Recently, Sawasdee Media completed official partnership contract with True Internet Corporation
which is Thailand s leading Internet provider. This agreement is considered to be a big step for the
company because True Internet Corporation had overall 36% market share in the broadband market
in Thailand and 66% share in Bangkok according to the Bangkok Post report. The contract creates a
perfect opportunity that the firm can use to benefit the new project in the future.
Failure
Last year, the company had to sell its DVD player business to the Hitachi Group in order to
generate money to support the latest television series which turned out to be a big flop to the
company. In the past, the company was used to be very adaptable to several business obstacles
whether it is financial crisis or threat from newcomers. But nowadays, Sawasdee Media, who ever
was the number one of largest television manufacturer in Thailand, is losing its title after a poor

The Requirements For Starting A Corporation
The requirements for starting a corporation in the United States.

In the united states,
starting a corporation is not too hard, but it has some steps to it. A Corporation is a legal separate
and distinct entity from its owner. A corporation is created (incorporated) by a group of
shareholders who have ownership of the corporation, represented by their holding of common
stock. Shareholders elect a board of directors (generally receiving one vote per share) who appoint
and oversee management of the corporation. Although a corporation does not necessarily have to
be for profit, the vast majority of corporations are setup with the goal of providing a return for its
shareholders. When you purchase stock you are becoming part owner in a corporation.

developed body of corporate law in the state of Delaware, that s why lots of companies chose to

Abstract: Nowadays for each and every designing in VLSI era the power consumption plays a vital
role. Low power has emerged as a principal theme in today s electronics industry. The low power
VLSI design has important role in designing of many electronic design systems. On designing any
combinational or sequential circuits, the power consumption, implementation area, voltage leakage,
and efficiency of the circuit are the important parameters to be considered initially. This paper
proposes a low power and area efficient shift register using pulsed latches. The area and power
consumption are reduced by replacing flip flops with pulsed latches. This method solves the timing
problem between pulsed latches through the use of multiple non overlap delayed pulsed clock
signals instead of the conventional single pulsed clock signal. The shift register uses a small
number of the pulsed clock signals by grouping the latches to several sub

  • 2. Characteristics Of Inspirational Women In The 19th Century B.M.C.C Taneisha Frompton English 353 05W June 18, 2017 Inspirational Women Women in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries have faced many obstacles. Many of these obstacles included inequality of the sexes, slavery, and unheard voices and most importantly recognition. These women all have different stories to tell. Many of these stories progress into greatness despite the difficulties and hardships to hear that voice of victory they ve searched their whole life for. As I observe writers in the 17th 19th century, I ve learned these women struggle with the darkness of being unheard for many years hiding behind their husbands, masters, and etc. because society prefer to treasure men over women who work twice as hard as they normally would do. Phillis Wheatley had to fight in court to prove she wrote her poems because people didn t believe a slave could write poems that speak to the human soul. In her first book , Poems of Various Subjects, Religious and Morals in the poem Imagination she is letting readers know that she imagines herself having a free soul that travels through the air to meet god in heaven. Soaring through air to find the bright abode,Th empyreal palace of the thund ring God (Line 15 16). She became the first African american author to have her work published in 1773. Secondly, in 1797, Sojourner Truthwas born in Swartekill Ulster County New York. Sold at the age nine Isabella Baumfree. She was born into slavery along with her other siblings. She ... • 3. Octopus Evolution People have been comparing the octopus to an alien life form for years most notably mollusk expert Martin Wells, grandson of H.G. Wells, who ate his subjects after he experimented on them. Wells anecdotally referred to octopuses as the only alien intelligence that humans have encountered. But try as he might, Wells who devoted his life to the study of cephalopods could not tap the origins of the creature s intelligence. Now, a new breakthrough in octopus genome mapping has revealed that the strange creatures have more secrets than we ever realized. Scientists at the University of Chicago, the University of California at Berkeley, and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology have fully mapped the DNA sequencing of the Bimac octopus, better known as the California two spot octopus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alien????? Everything Octopus For starters, the DNA of an octopus contains nearly 10,000 more gene codes than that of a human. Various clusters of these gene codes perform different tasks and octopus genes are specially equipped to do very versatile things. For instance, six different octopus gene codes combine to produce an octopus s ability to rapidly camouflage itself. Another gene type, protocadherin, allows the development of neurons and neural transmissions. Most mammals, including humans, only have 70 or so protocadherins. The octopus has 168. And the octopus has one of the largest gene families devoted to development of any animal we ve mapped so far second only to the elephant. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the DNA of an octopus is essentially like a road map where the road signs keep hopping around. The octopus has an extremely large number of jumping genes, called transposons, that can easily change their position in a protein chain. Researchers also found evidence in the octopus s RNA suggesting that they can easily alter their own protein sequences. In the researchers press release, Caroline Albertin, who co led the study, ... • 4. Ex Machina Character Analysis To begin, the film Ex Machina works with Al in an interesting way. The ultimate goal of the protagonist, Caleb, is to judge whether the Al in the film, Ava, is capable of thought and consciousness, as well as if he can actually relate to an Al. Nathan Al s appear advanced. For example, Ave is able to tell whether Caleb is lying or not when she asks him questions. Additionally, she is able to demonstrate intelligence by having Nathan fall for her. She knows exactly what to do and what to say to make him sympathize with her. In the end, all she wanted was to escape, and it is shown that she did not care about Caleb; she just wanted to manipulate him into aiding her escape. This demonstrates that she is capable of thought since she was able to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It appeared futuristic, but not too futuristic. For example, Nathan s building appear futuristic, due to the AI s and advanced technology, but also appears modern, for example, the bathroom and bedroom. The colors of the film were very clean and mostly were composed of white, red, and orange. For example, whenever Ava turned off the cameras, the room would glow red. This can indicant trouble, or warnings, which is what Ava was trying to give Caleb. The room Ava is locked up in has an orange glow to it, which makes the room appear calm. Additionally, white in the film makes the film appear futuristic. For example, the hallways appear white with lights, and Ava wears a white bodysuit, and Kyoko wears a white dress. The editing of the film is not fast paced, which gives the audience a chance to witness the relationship between an AI and human grow. It also gives the audience a chance to see what humankind s ambition is and if it is actually a good ambition or a bad one. The framing often shows the AI and humans in close quarters, which further strengthens the relationships that happen between them. For example, the framing of the film always shows Ava and Caleb close to each other, even if there is a glass separating them, which shows the audience their relationship ... • 5. Goose Hollow Reflection For my neighborhood study of Goose Hollow, I completed a research project to answer my research question, What is day to day life like in Goose Hollow? . This paper will reveal the story of my data through showing common themes between my research team s data to highlight noticeable conclusions drawn from my research methodologies. In analyzing my data, it is important to note my positionality. I am a nineteen year old female college student living in a downtown area of a city. I identify as being middle class, Jewish, heterosexual, and Latina. These key aspects of identity were important to take into consideration while collecting and analyzing my data because it can affect interpretation. For my research in Goose Hollow specifically, my social location as a middle class Latina was the most relevant. An awareness of the tensions inherent in research, and reflection on these tensions is important (McAullffe and Coleman, 2008, pg. 26). Being aware of my social location and following the ethics and protocol necessary in a research project, allowed me to be reflexive during my study. When making conclusions about my data to determine the narrative, I looked at how every research methodology contributed to the themes of my neighborhood. In the very act of constructing data out of experience, the qualitative researcher singles out some things as worthy of note and relegates others to the background (Wolcott, 1994, pg. 13). For the purpose of my paper, I chose to focus on two themes but that does not discredit the rest of my data. The two themes that appeared in all the data shared between my research team, were the ideas that Goose Hollow serves as an in between place for people trying to get from point A to point B and the active gentrification present in the neighborhood. To begin, I focused on participant observation methodology. The physical location and businesses of Goose Hollow makes it a convenient place for people to stop. The grab and go pizza place, Starbucks, corner store, and many modes of transportation make it a hub for commuters in their day to day life. When analyzing my group s data, a considerable amount of instances relating to transportation were observed. Ellen Koukel observed the MAX ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay about Rising Tide Chronicles Flow of Changes Rising Tide Chronicles Flow of Changes John M. Barry s Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How It Changed America, takes us back 70 years to a society that most of us would hardly recognize. In 1927, the Mississippi River flooded 27,000 square miles from Illinois and Missouri south to the Gulf of Mexico. No one expected the government to help the victims. President Calvin Coolidge even refused to visit the area. As a result, the flood created and destroyed leaders: Herbert Hoover, Coolidge s secretary of Commerce, was considered politically dead until he took over rescue/relief efforts. His competence and public relations skills sent him to the White House in 1928. (But his duplicity in dealings with black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even today, seventy one years after the flood waters receded, the river basin continues to feel the consequences of that flood. Rising Tide: The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 and How It Changed America by John M. Barry is the far reaching tale of that disaster. As the subtitle indicates, the book not only is a history of the disaster itself, but also is a social history of the Mississippi River Delta region over nearly a century from 1830 1930 and beyond, for the tale of man versus Ol Man River just keeps rollin on. If you pick up the book hoping to read a lot about the meteorological aspects of the flood, you will likely be disappointed. If you are looking for a book on the engineering control of the Great River, I suggest John McPhee s The Control of Nature. But if you are looking for a book which uses the backdrop of a major disaster to tell the social history of the Mississippi Delta Region during a critical period, then seek out this book. To put the tale into proper prospective, the Mississippi Basin Flood of 1993 carried 435,000 cubic feet of water per second past Iowa and one million cubic feet per second past St. Louis after the contribution from the Missouri River. The Great Flood of 1927 sent three million cubic feet per second past Greenville, Mississippi. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Secondly, there are small items and bits of knowledge that prove to be immaterial keys necessary to complete the task. One such item greatly stands out in the challenge Wade faces: the quarter. Most readers would forget about this little, ordinary object, but at the end of the novel, it is known how vital this quarter really was. In addition to being an important aspect in the conclusion of Ready Player One and Wade s ultimate victory, the quarter appears to have a mysterious religious connection. To obtain this quarter, Wade goes through a long and grueling task of playing a perfect game of Pac Man on a special machine. He found this old Pac Man machine on Archaide, a planet with a museum of James Halliday s awards and classic video games, while looking for clues to find the next key. It is also apparent that Anorak s Almanac is his bibleas Wade directly says that the Almanac had become my bible (61). It all started in June of 1972 when a handful of men came armed with bugging equipment and cameras into the Watergate hotel. They worked for president Nixon. Their mission was to bug a democratic committee office. Nixon was trying to eavesdrop on his competition in the election. The men were caught and arrested. He wrote that, Presidents do enjoy a constitutionally protected executive privilege, but that privilege is not absolute. After the case was final, Richard Nixon released all of the tapes. It was confirmed that he was involved with the watergate scandal. He had contact with the men that he ordered to bug the committees office. He shortly resigned after everything releasing the tapes. Some of the people who have Myasthenia Gravis experience respiratory failures. It s very crucial that these patients stay away from interventions that might worsen the disease process. In 2014 a 62 year old woman with a history of metastatic thymic carcinoma and myasthenia graviscame to the emergency room in Houston, Texas. For two days this lady had been experiencing weakness, difficulty swallowing, and shortness of breath. They admitted her into the intensive care unit because she had the symptoms of a myasthenia crisis. That evening they ran a test and there was a substantial decrease in the patient s vital capacity. • 11. Jesus The Son Of God Research Paper Whether or not Jesus was truly the Son of God is a question that theologians and philosophers have been trying to answer for centuries. One might also ask the question, Was Jesus even a Divine Man? Interestingly enough, Jesus was not the only man though to be divine in nature. People living in the Greco Roman world reference ancient sources to highlight their belief that numerous individuals obtain divine qualities and characteristics. The person of Jesusis one of the most influential characters in human history and this is why it is so important to investigate whether or not he was who he said he was. In this paper, I will work to highlight some of these examples of other divine men and leave it up to you to decide whether or not Jesus was divine himself.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both the stories of Jesus s birth and Alexander the Great s birth it is said that they had been conceived through the agency of a God. The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will become the Son of God. This is a reference to the virgin birth. Jesus was thought to be born of a virgin and therefore was only conceived because the Holy Spirit gave her a child. Similarly, in the legend of Alexander the Great s birth, it is believed that a God had lain with the mother of Alexander in the form of a serpent; which then gave way to the birth of Alexander the Great. • 12. Surrealism And Surrealism In 1925, the original surrealists forged a clear and resounding document, stating, among other things, that the surrealist movement is a revolution, unarguably. They asserted that their movement was not one of poetic form. Furthermore, that it was not even a literary movement. They firmly established, in the infancy of Surrealism, that it was not an aesthetic endeavour. It was a revolution of the mind. Surrealist actions and thoughts function in the absence of any aesthetic or moral concern. This idea was thoroughly tested with the many events to come. It was tested when Salvador Dali went so far with a lack of moral concern as to support Hitler himself, earning himself an excommunication, after a characteristically dramatic trial. It was tested when Andre Breton, honorary founder of Surrealism, stated that The purest surrealist act is walking into a crowd with a loaded gun and firing into it randomly. This has since, regrettably, been forgotten. We have forgotten, somehow, the broken bones, the muddied faces, the chaos, and the legitimate taboos in which Surrealism languished. We have forgotten how, historically, we have stared in the face that which no one else dared to glance at. We have cast aside that which hurts us, for we do not care to include it in our reality. We have also become much more tolerant, since Breton s death in 1966, of that which is not actually surrealist. At the risk of sounding anti progress, I say that the movement has become less pure ... • 13. The Women s Rights Movement In Iron Jawed Angels When thinking about feminism in today s society we tend to direct our minds and thoughts to a more radical and powerful train of thought. Feminism has been going on for centuries, with two main ideologies at the forefront; liberal and cultural feminism. Someone who identifies as a liberal feminist is someone who believes that women and men are a like and equal in most respects and deserve equal roles and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). And cultural feminismis someone who identifies as someone who believes that men and women are fundamentally differently; you have different rights, role and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). The women s rights movement can be understood and broken down into three waves . The first wave of women s movements in the United States took place from approximately 1840 to 1925. When looking at this wave from the Liberal Ideology, they fought for women to have the right to vote, access to high education, equal employment opportunities and property rights. During this wave the infamous, and ground breaking, Seneca Falls Convention took place in New York in 1898. Here, 32 men and 68 women gathered to catalogue these specific events that women were not allowed to participate in. It is also during this wave that the Golden Globe Winning film Iron Jawed Angels, takes place. Iron Jawed Angels, is the story of Alice Pauland Lucy Burns suffrage struggle beginning in 1913. Along with other immigrant families, he grew up in the basements of tenement buildings. When he left home at 17, set out to quickly assimilate into what he viewed as mainstream America. This included raising me as an American first. As a result, I lacked a connection to my culture. I knew nothing about Dominican culture, food, or music. I yearned to learn more about my cultural identity. Fortunately, I attended one of Seattle s most diverse public high schools. Students there spoke more than 15 different languages. While I was unable to connect with students from the Dominican Republic, by befriending students who had come from all over the world, I learned a great deal about the world and other people s lives. Animal Extinction And Its Effects On The Human Race Essay Tehilla Silverberg English College Writing Research Paper Animal Extinction and its Effects on the Human Race Animal extinction is a tremendous problem in our society. Every year, more and more animals are going extinct. If we don t do something to stop it, we could see a massive animal extinction in our lifetime. Many people believe the extinction is irrelevant to human life. They are wrong. Every species in our universe is part of a web. If one specie on the web goes the whole thing slowly starts to fall apart, humans included (Bove). We live in a magnificent place. I close my eyes. I feel the wind surround me, the birds chirping, the horses galloping up on the near mountaintop. I open my eyes, and I see the prettiest baby dear so perfectly still just staring at me through the blades of grass, oh there he goes. Wow, I turn around and I see two beautiful elephants flapping their huge ears at one another. There is the most adorable white chocolate colored bunny sniffing the most stunning violet flowers I have ever seen. I want to stay right here in this unbelievable moment forever. I wake up. It s all gone. I look out my window, and my heart sinks. There are no birds, horses, deer, elephants, bunny rabbits, flowers or grass, there isn t even that much wind. There is no one alive who is Youer than You. Every essence of our being, from our personalities to our DNA is different from everyone else in this world. Many of these distinctions are apparent in the classroom setting and at times can prove challenging for a teacher. Some students may learn the lessons very quickly while others may take extra time and may need out of class help. Two of the most common learning disabilities are ADHD and hyperactivity. For students who are inattentive it is important to put specific topics in a checklist style and perhaps on a printout or in worksheet form so they can go through the topics at home. Doing worksheets at outside of class or even just alone may help them pay attention. Also, for the students who tend to watch the clock it may be beneficial to begin the lesson with a checklist of all that will be covered in class that day. That way, they can mentally check off the topics instead of count down the minutes until class is over. Some good strategies to use with children who are impulsive include giving immediate feedback for their behavior, especially positive reinforcement. (McAllister 2012) Also, for these students it may be necessary to post behavior rules or guidelines somewhere in the classroom. Some of these methods appear to be somewhat elementary so to alter them to fit a high school setting, I would have the students come up with their own rules to give them a sense of responsibility. Then in the seventeenth century in Britain another famous collector comes forth, Charles I who had a taste for art that showed the divine right of kings and had a love for Rubens and Van Dyke s painting style. I have selected these Rulers due to the fact that they were not only collectors but were also patrons of artworks which shows a complete devotion to art, not in just admiring art from the past which had become noteworthy through the popularity of the artist; but because the encouraged contemporary artists, and as such had a lasting impact on art despite them not being directly behind the works. Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a technique, which helps in recovering gas and oil from shale rocks. The process of fracking requires drilling into the Earth before high pressure liquids directed at the rock help to release the gas trapped inside it. Water, sand and various other chemicals injected into the rocks, with great pressure, that allow the gas to flow out of the well. The process can be carried out vertically and horizontally, however it is common to use the latter as it helps in creating more ways to release gas. In 2011, the United Statesproduced 8.5 million cubic feet of natural gas, a value of nearly $36 billion, from shalegas alone. As a result, the U.S. is now the world s top manufacturer of natural gas. Existential crises produce anxiety within an individual until the crisis has been resolved. Three versions of existential crises have been identified: sophomore crisis, adult existential crisis, and later existential crisis. At the beginning of the movies, we see how food and water set Chihiro, Sosuke, and Ponyo s entire adventures, and the conflict they endure and how they were perceived in the spiritand humanworlds. The spirit world was less tolerant of anything different whereas the human world was more welcoming; however, they both illustrated the same message about how people should be more open minded and to be more accepting. An example in Spirited Awayshowed how the Spirit world viewed Chihiro as nothing more than just a human being who came to their world to cause trouble, according to Yubaba; whereas in the human world, Ponyo was welcomed by Sosuke, even though at the start of the movie, Ponyo was appeared to be a goldfish, nevertheless she was still welcomed by a human. The events that occurred during the Final Solution are so horrendous that often it is viewed as so repugnant that we label the people involved as purely evil, they are dehumanized. This is dangerous, as it doesn t allow us to obtain wisdom, perspective, and empathy for those involved. Ordinary Men allows an opportunity to see these events from the eyes of the perpetrators and their journey that led to what seems to people today as ruthless, unscrupulous murder. When in fact these people were literally ordinary men who were introduced to unordinary circumstances which caused them to abandon their humanity. If we discredit these people as inhuman we fail to learn the lessons of human nature so we can avoid them in the future. Winston Churchill embodies the lessons learned from Ordinary Men as he said Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The massacrein Jozefow was first to introduce the men of Battalion 101 to mass murder. The orders were that males of working age were to be sent Lublin to serve as work Jews, while the women, children and the elderly were to be exterminated by gunshot immediately. This means that there is a higher demand for better quality and more versatile software. Higher quality software that is versatile and consistent was very difficult to create for developers before object oriented programming was created. The object oriented programmingmethod of utilizing objects and methods has revolutionized the way programmers create new applications. By allowing objects to be reusable and flexible, this allows more time to be spent on creating meaningful coding tasks with less time coding GUI s (Gaddis Irvine, 2014, p. xvii). In this case this person is ambidextrous. But, the typical human also has a dominant foot, ear, side of the brain, and eye. For people who have anisometropic myopia, a different amount of nearsightedness in each eye, the eye with more myopia or nearsightedness is the dominant eye (web.stanford.edu, 2014). The easiest way to test your eyedness is to create a small triangle with your hands, with your thumbs as the base of the triangle and your left hand s fingers overlapping your right hand s fingers , and center it around an object, such as a doorknob, about 5 10 feet away with both eyes open. Then, close your left eye. If you can still see the object with your right eye opened, then your right eye is your dominant eye. If the object moves out of your view, then close your right eye. To be able to do this, Kellogg and other cereal companies spend millions of dollars annually in advertising. By having characters like these, viewers are able to immediately identify what brand is being presented. Another example is the Bounty commercial form Procter and Gamble. The central idea of Catch 22 that Joseph Heller is trying is prove is that war is crazy and pointless. He shows this with the fact that all of the character in the book except for Yossarianand Orr are crazy. One of the very important foils in this book is Dunbar, who is Yossarians closest friend. Other than being Yossarians closest friend in the war, Dunbar is a foil to Yossarian because he has extremely similar philosophies and ways of acting. Because the characters are so similar, often times throughout the book many of Yossarian s philosophies and ways of acting are discovered through Dunbar, which makes him a foil. Dunbar as a foil to Yossarian is shown in many ways, one of which being that they both have a twisted sense of humor which only they understand. A way this is shown is with their ironic fear of death, in which they fail to understand why people are shooting at them. In the united states, starting a corporation is not too hard, but it has some steps to it. A Corporation is a legal separate and distinct entity from its owner. Low power has emerged as a principal theme in today s electronics industry. The low power VLSI design has important role in designing of many electronic design systems. On designing any combinational or sequential circuits, the power consumption, implementation area, voltage leakage, and efficiency of the circuit are the important parameters to be considered initially. This paper proposes a low power and area efficient shift register using pulsed latches. The area and power consumption are reduced by replacing flip flops with pulsed latches. This method solves the timing problem between pulsed latches through the use of multiple non overlap delayed pulsed clock signals instead of the conventional single pulsed clock signal.
