From 1991 to 1998, the second stage featured an expansion or diversification strategy within China.
Since the firm bases itself on quality instead of quantity, it decided that if someone bought a Haier
Group refrigerator, then maybe they would look to buy something else from the firm. The business
was developed primarily through mergers and acquisitions to cover all kinds of household electrical
appliances and electronic consumer goods instead of just one product. At this time it also focused on
building great distribution channels all over China and improving product development speed and
quality as well technologies. Since December 1998, the third stage has focused on globalization
strategy. It exported its products to Germany first, then to other European countries, the U.S.,
Southeast Asian countries, Middle East countries, and India. In 2000, the firm opened a $35 million
refrigerator factory in Camden, South Carolina, started selling products through Wal Mart and many
other national and regional chains. On March 4, 2002, the firm unveiled its American headquarters in

Robert Frost s Life Through Poetry

Robert Frost Reflects Life Through Poetry
It is easy to express your emotions, and feelings through poetry. Which is exactly what Robert Frost
has done through his entire career. Each poem Robert Frost has written, has meaning behind it all. He
has gone through an extreme amount of events, and tragedies in his life. Frost has been through an
unimaginable amount of losses, deaths, and loneliness throughout his years. Throughout his life his
poetry has had a huge impact on him, the situations and losses, and emotions he had encountered in
his life were expressed and showed throughout his poetry.
Robert had suffered from emotional and physical abuse throughout his childhood, which had caused
him to live his life being apprehensive, and afraid. Even though these things had caused him to be
emotionally unstable, and leave him fearful for his entire life; they had also allowed him to be one of
the most incredible poets in history. Frost s father was an alcoholic who had anger issues as well, one
time he had whipped young Roberts s legs repeatedly with a dog chain (Postema, 160). Frost was born
in San Francisco, where he had lived for 11 years, until his father had passed away due to Tuberculosis
in 1885. After his father s passing, himself, his mother and his sister Jeanie had moved to Eastern
Massachusetts. Isabelle Frost (Robert s mother), had helped her family by getting a job to be a teacher,
which allowed her to continue teaching and homeschooling her own

Effects Of Water On Mars
Mars, a planet made of volcanic basalt rock as the soil on mars is like talcum powder. The red planet is

Mars? Well after Earth was formed, Mars was the planet containing a higher percentage that is with a
hostable climate than any other planet is the solar system. Outflow channels and other geologic
features provide ample evidence that billions of years ago liquid water flowed on the surface of Mars.

The Importance Of Misogyny In American Culture
I think internalized misogyny in American culture is detrimental to all genders, but especially women.
The objectification of women in media, culture, and daily life has proven harmful to the opportunities
and livelihoods of women. Once women are no longer viewed, as whole and valid human beings, the
subsequent rampant abuse and mistreatment imposed on them is rationalized and accepted by society.
I consider myself pro women, aligning myself with pro choice and anti abuse movements, due to my
partialities on the subject.
The most obvious source of towards my bias is the fact I m a woman, so the consequences of sexism
affect me directly. I suppose the intrinsic value of self preservation causes me to advocate against it,
since I would rather avoid experiencing the repercussions associated with misogyny than face them
firsthand. Combating society s oppressive attitudes increases my relative quality of life, so one could
consider my support for women s rights as a selfish endeavor. Branched off my own personal attempt
at self sustainability, is my willingness to empathize with other women. I hold the tendency to deeply
value women s rights because I recognize the struggles inflicted by the patriarchal culture and society
common to all women. I appreciate the quality of empathy because it s important in all human
relationships. I despise systematic sexism, because of its direct influence on me, and simultaneously
realize that I am a small entity among a small subsection of the

Hamlet Dek Revenge In Hamlet
William Shakespeare hamlet is a poem illustrating a prince seeking revenge over his father tragic
death. Hamlet the prince is left clueless who killed his father until some night watcher gave him some
news about a ghost that looked like his dead father. Hamlet decides to go see the ghost for himself and
is shocked what the ghost has said to him. The murder of his father was no accident for a snake but
instead hamlet father was murder from his uncle, Claudius, the new king of Denmark. Hamlet
becomes angry at Claudius for killing his father and is also angry at his mother, Gertrude, for
betraying his and marrying Claudius. Hamlet begins to act insane because he wants to distract the
people around him so he can fulfill his revenge of the murder of his father.
In the poem Hamlet begins to have a insane at attitude when tries to seek revenge. At first hamlet
begins to act that he is crazy but it slow begin to affect him. A first example is when hamlet begins to
have a couple of suicidal thought. Shakespeare writes;
O, that this too too solid flesh would melt,
Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew!
Or the Everlasting had not fix d
His canon gainst self slaughter! O God! O God! (Shakespeare, 1529).
In these line hamlet has a thought of committing suicide but realizes he would disobey Gods
command. According to an article by Andrew he says; Far from evincing an acceptance of death or a
belief in its religious purpose, Hamlet continues instead to view life and death as

The Effects Of Media Fast Exercise On Children
In the United States, the media is commonplace. Some countries, such as Japan offer therapy for
people, usually teenagers, who spend too much time playing video games or accessing the internet.
This is due to the fact that technology is basically needed to live a normal life. For example,
employers ask for a phone number and email address in job applications. If an applicant doesn t have a
phone number or an email address, the employer would think the person applying for a job is a little
weird. On the other hand, some people enjoy living off the grid , which means they do not use
infrastructure such as electricity. An example of these people includes the Amish.
On October 10th, I successfully completed the arduous task of not using any media for eight hours.
Before I started the media fast exercise, I thought this was the most horrible thing that could happen to
me. The entire summer, I was on my computer and phone communicating with my friends and
watching videos. Being a college student who has a lot of reading homework, I was angry that we
could not read because I wanted to read the books for my classes so I would be able to do some of my
homework. As I said before, accessing the media is very typical of teenagers and college students. My
generation has lived with technology our entire lives. Growing up with technology accessible to us
made this exercise so much harder. I later thought about how I worked at a summer camp in the
mountains for three summers. At the

Article Analysis Of Tax Cuts
NAME OF ARTICLE: Tax Cuts, Sold as Fuel for Growth, Widen Gap between Rich and Poor
SOURCE OF ARTICLE: The New York Times
DATE OF PUBLICATION: 3rd October 2017
Overview of the article:
The article brings the information on board that tax cuts increase inequality. They lead to the widening
of the gap between the poor and the rich thereby decreasing per capita income and regional balance.
Lower taxes encourage the executive officials and top earners to increase their income through
manipulation of the systems and putting each decision with the aim of increasing their earnings.
How the article relates to the course:
Economics mainly deals with an analysis and description of the production of commodities, their
distribution, and consumption. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of tax levied on the citizens mainly determines the growth rate of a country. Lower tax
collection from the citizens will ensure that the growth rate will be decreased. An illustration is a
country such as Denmark, which keeps its taxes high hence increasing the growth of its economy.
Massive tax cuts, on the other hand, does not result in economic growth.
What will you remember from the article?
Today, one percent of the total global population takes more than twenty percent of the global
economy, which is twice the fateful dinner. An increase in the taxes leads to a massive economic
growth of a country. On the other hand, lower rates of tax in any country leads to slow economic
development, thus resulting in economic stagnation of such country. The top earners always modify
their salaries to decrease the tax rates, which are imposed on them. They, therefore, evade paying tax
or pay minimal tax which further leads to widening of the gap between the rich and the poor.

The Epidemic Of London. Johnson
In the TGM, Johnson includes scientific evidence and tangents to enrich the story of the cholera
epidemic on London. Johnson tries to get a bird s eye view of seeing how cholera spread through
London. In that way Johnson tries to get the reader to not only see individual stories of people who
contracted cholera but to produce information on how it came about, what it is, and give as much
background and insight to get the reader to see information they usually wouldn t. Johnson also uses
these scientific tangents to show modern era readers that based on what happened in London it forever
affects us today. Johnson gives information on what happens and then he goes on a tangent explaining
how essential the specific information plays a role in the development of London. He tries to bring the
information of what happened two centuries ago to relate to modern readers. It was essential that
Johnson gave extra information because it helped to further develop the story. Adding in these details
answers the readers questions and gives an explanation on why something took place while reassuring
the reader by giving factual research. It doesn t take away from the story nor distract the reader from
the central idea of the story. It adds more information to benefit the story as a whole by enriching the
reading by giving factual evidence.
Johnson uses this technique to give readers a broad view of what he introduces in the story at the time.
Johnson shows this by saying, Waste

The Role Of The United Nations Security Council
The United States is one of only five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council
(UNSC). In the United States, we have suffered from many terrorist attacks of our own, including but
not limited to: the LaGuardia Airport Bombing in 1975, the 1995 Oklahoma truck bombing, the
attacks of the Twin Towers on 9/11, the Beltway sniper attacks, the San Bernardino attack, the Orlando
nightclub shooting in 2016, and the recent Las Vegas shooting on October 1st. It can be argued that
these terrible attacks have brought us closer together as a nation. Certainly, the members of the United
States Security Council must work together to prevent terrorism and promote peace throughout the
world. In the United States, we have gone to great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The UNSC has a responsibility of keeping peace between nations, and terrorist attacks prevent global
peace from being achieved. If terrorists realize that the world stands together against terrorism and
their country is protecting by the UNSC, they will think twice about attacking. A nation supported by a
large organization like the UNSC intimidates terrorists and has a greater chance of prosperity.
Global peace can be achieved while the threat of terrorism is still active. Terrorism is a universal
concept, and no policy, security regulation, or procedure can ever change that. However, if the world s
nations stand together against terrorism, than we can respond to terrorist attacks and recover from
them quicker. The world (excluding Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, and Nigeria) has seen the
amount of terrorist incidents increase by 54% in 2013. However, our world has become more
peaceful, as the amount of deaths from battle per 100,000 people dropped from 21.8 in 1950 to less
than 1 in 2013. Therefore, terrorism can still remain in a peaceful world but must be contained.

The peacekeepers should remain a crucial part of the United Nations missions. The peacekeepers have

Macbeth And Hamlet Research Paper
Within 1601 1605 William Shakespeare produced, what is said to be, the four wings of his spirit in the
tragic division: Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, and Lear. Shakespeare captures current beliefs, political
history, and cultural events in his plays. Shakespeare s tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet, were both
written during King James I reign to symbolize the darkness and represent the insecurities of the time.
While some of the happier Shakespearean plays, Midsummer s Night Dream, were written during
Queen Elizabeth I s reign to express the happy, optimistic mood, and confidence in the people.

Many of the English focussed on the issue of keeping her femininity yet maintaining her rule. There
was questioning of if a woman was fit to rule England or if her gender reduced her status as queen.
There were also doubt on how she could provide an heir without relinquishing her power to her
husband. This idea is seen throughout the female characters of Macbeth and Hamlet. In Macbeth,
Lady Macbeth wants to take matter into her own hands, but states that it is inappropriate because she
is a woman. She also uses Macbeth s masculinity to persuade him to kill Duncan. When Macbeth didn
t kill the guards Lady Macbeth did; due to the guilt she later suffered from insanity and committed
suicide. A month after her first husband s death, Gertrude married Claudius, handing the kingship to
Hamlet s uncle, instead of the rightful heir. Gertrude is poisoned by her husband when he meant to kill
Hamlet. Ophelia, the daughter of a nobleman who loved Hamlet, went insane when her father was
murdered by her love. As a result of the unbearable grief she drowned herself in a brook. Lady
Macbeth says that Macbeth has had these visions, and has been like that since childhood. Gertrude
says Hamlet is crazy in love with Ophelia. Both female roles blames the males craziness on something
other than actual insanity. Each of the female characters reflect the beliefs of women in Shakespeare s
time. He expresses the belief

History
Bob Carlton worked for his uncle, Mel, in a muffler shop in their hometown of Chickasaw, Alabama
when he was young. He tried his first time driving and found out that he was not talented at it. Instead,
he was good at making the engines. Thus, his uncle gave him a corner of the shop to develop his
interest: auto parts. He then outgrew and had his own racing team clientele. With the phenomenal
boom in the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), he never lacked a business.
He even had a long waiting list of customers. Then, he founded OptiMotors, a midsize auto parts
manufacturer.
Development
Roland, the accountant of OptiMotors, suggested Bob take the vacant space across the town to
increase their capacity so as to maximize the profits. Roland introduced some angels investors to Bob
and they persuaded Bob that the company had to invest in high powered sales leadership. Bob agreed
that the key to success was the magic words of mouth. Therefore, the angels put him in touch with
Galen McDowell, who was excellent at socializing and training salespeople to become high
performing. Once Galen got into the job as the sales manager, he immediately hired a few salespeople
and taught them easier and faster ways to achieve targets. Within a few months, OptiMotors got a call
from a big client, Kinan Motors. The company was in full production mode in improving its product
quality because they wanted to close the deals with Kinan.

Sleep Apnea Davis Summary
Sleep Apnea, by Davis, Andrew S, explains the breathing cessations during sleep. Sleep Apnea
reduces the amount of oxygen flowing to the brain which causes brain issues. People with sleep apnea
usually wake up at night because of the shortness of breathing, then resume back to sleep after
adjusting their breathing. Davis states that due to sleep apnea, a few individual has sleeping issues
such as snoring, headaches or even find it hard to fall asleep. Sleep apnea is also existed in children

Although there is a treatment for sleep apnea, the successful treatment requires surgery. Davis states
the most successful treatment in children is to remove the child s tonsils and adenoids. Another
treatment that Davis shows in his article is the CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) though
Davis explains this treatment only splints open the airway and is uncomfortable since the patient has
to sleep with a mask. As Davis states a few symptoms of sleep apnea in children previous in his
writing, Davis states that children with sleep apnea usually have many special education issues. They
might find it hard to concentrate on a certain thing; they usually having behavior and memory issues.
Davis further explains that those symptoms mainly come from the children s sleepiness which caused
by sleep apnea. Davis suggests that the parents and teachers should be more observable toward the
children since sleep apnea symptoms are similar to attention deficit disorder. Davis encourages that
children with sleep apnea should get the specialty since they having trouble on focusing, and they
might having difficulty adapt to school or society. Although there are some serious damages that have
caused by sleep apnea, Davis suggests the people should be more positive and expected the

Renee Fleming was born on February 14, 1959, in Indiana, Pennsylvania (Fleming 5). She grew up in

by Richard Tucker Music Foundation (Baker s Biographical Dictionary of Popular Musicians since

worldwide, especially in opera, such as her title role in Donizetti Lucrezia Borgia with the opera
orchestra of New York. Renee has made several appearances throughout her music life. For example,
she performed a solo concert at the lyric opera in Chicago, besides Sir Andrew Davis, and Sang

The Impact Of Hot Topic On Consumers And American Pop Culture
Getting teenagers to buy your items can be really complicated, especially with new trends changing
from month to month. Even though the average consumer can t possibly think how these stores are
able to keep up and manage the sudden changes in culture the community brings, they do know that
each day in a store brings new products and different arrangements throughout the store to fit the
consumer s needs. Specifically enough, each store creates an image for themselves that exemplifies
the culture and shows us something about the times we live in at that moment. Hot Topic influences
the way the consumer buys their products by integrating family friendly items and American pop
culture within their products in order to appeal and attract customers into buying merchandise that is
relevant and trending. What is Hot Topic? Hot Topic is an American retail store that is largely based in
California that sells culture related clothes, largely attracting young teenagers and adults. The store is
basely located in California, but has stores in other parts of the U.S. and Canada. It is evident that Hot
Topic is a store that always visually changes from time to time, in order to appeal to the young
consumers that walk by there stores when they go watch a movie or go to the mall with friends. The
store studies and analyzes the way that young men and women act, follow, and do when they are

The Cause Of Racism Strengthens The Word Community
Racism stops the word community in its tracks. It is a weak and cowardly mindset, with obvious and
atrocious effects. It prevents the incorporation of other cultures that could positively benefit native
cultures. Racism incites hatred and fear, and breeds violence. The word racism means prejudice,
discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one
s own race is superior. It s the type of controversy that, when mentioned, generates bated breath and a
tense feeling. Racism is, at its best, disgusting. With that in mind, however, the question remains, why
would anyone ever harbor such feelings? The causes of racism can be unclear, but it is widely
accepted that discrimination of those of different races stem from the fear of loss and displacement,
ignorance, and a desire to feel superior. The fear of loss and displacement is a common reason for
racism. One who has a fear of the experiencing loss can strive to latch onto someone or something to
blame when loss occurs. This fear and anger is often directed to someone out of one s comfort zone,
which can be an individual or group from a different place, a different religion, a different gender, or,

However, that is not to say that one should ever stop trying to prevent racism in communities, schools,
and workplaces. Racism will always create hatred, fear, and violence. One can not be a peaceful racist;
there are always those negative effects. The most straightforward solution to racism would be to
simply treat everyone with equal opportunity. However, due to seemingly uncontrollable fear of loss
and displacement, ignorance, and a desire to be superior, it seems that there will always be some
measure of racism in today s world and minds. It is each individual s job to prevent it as much as that

FDI Inflow, Current Account Balance, Inflation And Interest Rate: How Do They Impact The
Malaysian Economy?

Abstract
This article seeks to find which of the macroeconomic variables among FDI inflow, current account
balance, inflation and interest rate play a significant role in economic growth in Malaysia using the
SPSS Regression method for a time period of 14 years from 1995 to 2008 (Oct). The results of the
research indicated that FDI and inflation are not significantly related to economic growth in Malaysia
during the period of study. However, CA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, FDI is said to be the most important contributing factor for Malaysia s economic performance.
The early beginnings of luring foreign investors to Malaysian soil started with the introduction of the
Investment Incentives Act 1968, and followed by the establishment of the Free Trade Zones (FTZs)
during the Second Malaysia Plan (1971 75). Since then, Malaysia has attracted a large portion of the
investment dollar that flowed into Asia. In 1995, for example, Malaysia was the second largest FDI
recipient among Asian economies at US$ 5.8 billion.
Malaysia recorded inward FDI of USD 7.3 billion and USD 6.3 billion in 1996 and 1997 respectively.
The lower figures in 1997 may be attributed to the lack of confidence as a result of the Asian financial
crisis but by 1998, figures indicate that investor confidence had improved. Malaysia s highest FDI
inflow was recorded in 2007 when the amount surged to USD 8.4 billion from USD 6.0 billion in
2006.
FDIs are private sector investments that are made by a company into a foreign country. Foreign direct
investments create a strong demand for a local currency and help boost the economy. With money
coming into a country, strong foreign direct investment is one way governments can finance current
account deficits. However, just as funds flow in, they also can flow out,

Into The Wild Chris Mccandless Relationship Analysis
Relationships between people can change lives forever. For instance, a parent and child s relationship
are one of the most important ones because that is where our consciousness about love, trust and
assurance comes from. Depending on the relationship, it can either benefit or suffer a child. Since little
children always look up to their parents and learn from them. So the actions done by their parents can
affect the child s life later in the years. This scenario can be reflected in the book Into the Wild, the
character Chris McCandless. Chris McCandless parent s outside appearance was wanting Chris to go

Orcs And The Hobbit Analysis
Not only was how the Ents reacted to the Orcs and the Hobbits important for how international
relations should deal with problems, but Merry and Pippin altered a normal conception within this
scene, which is to treat your elders with respect. The Ents within this scene are portrayed as a wise
elder that you obey and respect. Merry confronts the Ents decision on not to fight and then still
manipulates them into destroying Isengard. Why is it engraved in our heads to follow tradition and
listen to the wise? Just because they may be more experience, or think they are more experienced does
not mean to follow how they solved their situations. Over time, the world changes. In the 1940 s,

Voltaire s View Of Oppression From The Authority
It is dangerous to be right in matters about which the established authorities are wrong.
Voltaire
The struggles against authority, repeatedly and continuously, take place in the history. As for those
fighters, Voltaire, a famous French writer and thinker, once put forward an idea, It is dangerous to be
right in matters about which the established authorities are wrong. () The word right contrasting to
wrong means the truth. An established authorities could be regarded to the dominant powers
controlling and guiding people, such as long existing conventions held and propagated by the power
holders or the influential experts in specific fields. The article will support the idea of Voltaire by
providing sufficient and concrete evidences. It is reasonable that people might suffer the possibility of
oppression from the authority, when the ideas of the former contrasts to the latter who tend to retain its
status. The challenger is dangerous in the way that the power of authorities, at most time, overwhelm
them; the characteristic of opposing ideas invites the oppression by authority. It is possible to receive
potential danger from the authority, while some did succeed in the struggle.
It is obvious that the comparison between two power is usually dismatched. The opponents are often
overshadowed by the authorities, in turn, the opponents are weaker, two aspects in particular.
Convention gets in the way of innovation and rebellion. It also restricted by the contemporary

Sakoku, or the National Seclusion of Japan
Sakoku, or the national seclusion, of Japan by the Tokugawa Iemitsu in the 1630s was one of the most
important periods in Japanese history. Many people perceived that Japan became uniquely unique
because of the Sakoku. However, during the Sakoku, Japan was not complete sealed off from foreign
influences and trades. The national seclusion of Japan is believed by some people that there is only
limited trade with the Dutch and Chinese in Nagasaki. According to Oxford Art Online during the Edo
period, the Bay of Nagasaki is the only port open to overseas trade (Bonnie), which was not true.
During the Sakoku, Japan was not restricted to only the bay in Nagasaki, but Japan had total of four
designated places that allowed foreign contacts. Before the detail of the four areas of foreign relations
during the Sakoku period, the reasons for the Sakoku need to be explained. The widespread of
Christianity in Japan started because of Oda Nobunaga encouraged missionaries to convert many
Japanese to Christians because he wanted to reduce the influence of Buddhist monasteries. However,
his successors did not share the same view. Hideyoshi felt threaten by Christians, especially the
Catholics because of several reasons. One of these reasons was that the Spaniards conquered the
islands of Philippines (Watts). Another reason is that Hideyoshi felt threaten with the concept of
foreign ruler that many Catholics recognized, the Catholic Pope. The tension finally escalated when

intermission, so that the group could be split into two smaller groups, to allow more people to speak.
As we recommenced, the leader asked if anyone had anything to get off their chest, if they felt like
they needed a drink, or if they had taken a drink. There was no response, so the leader continued with

The Digital Assistant, Or Pda
The personal digital assistant, or PDA, was a small hand held electronic device that was intended for
use as a simple organizer, including features like a calendar and tasks list. Today, the PDA has fallen
into disuse, replaced by its more popular and powerful successor: the smart phone. Voice recognition
technology is giving rebirth to the spirit of the PDA in the form of new intelligent digital systems
designed to help you manage your affairs. These reborn personal assistants are gaining popularity in
both consumer and business markets due to their ability to streamline commonplace tasks. As new
technologies are discovered, additional applications and markets will be uncovered for this technology
to take root in. A Brief History The idea of digital personal assistants has been around in the public
realm quite a while thanks mainly to Hollywood since the 1960 s. Many movies back in the sixties
would depict computers or other devices that had the ability to plan and organize events with limited
human interaction. Due to the production of several science fiction titles such as Star Trek, Star Wars,
and A Space Odyssey, the early conceptions of such beings as cognitive personal assistants came to
the public eye. Early examples of such devices included Star Trek s talking computer, the Hal 9000,
and R2D2; devices that could in most cases assist or come up with plans instead of requiring humans
to do the organization, reasoning, or brainstorming of all factors in the decision

The Line Between Knowledge And Power In Indian Horse And...
The Line between Knowledge and Power is Drawn in the Sands of Responsibility.
Knowledge is something that is gathered over time, changed and revolutionized based on the needs of
society and dictated by the actions that humanity takes that. As a human being, not only does one
person have the ability to pass down the knowledge and skills that are learnt from fathers and their
fathers forefathers, but have the responsibility to continue traditions and knowledge learnt in the past
that is relevant today. This idea of passing down knowledge, or at least protecting knowledge can be
found in each of the course texts this year, but more predominantly in Indian Horse, and as well in
Fahrenheit 451. Over the human existence on Earth, several philosophers have related Knowledge and
Power to be directly linked together, It has also been said that with great power comes great
responsibility. According to these fundamental teaches and rules that have been created over time, it is
clear to see that having knowledge means having a responsibility to not only pass knowledge down to
the next generation, but to protect knowledge and traditions from those who may with stop knowledge
from advancing.
In the novel, Indian Horse, traditions and knowledge of one s father and the fathers before them is lost
by the actions of the Canadian Government and the White Man , or more commonly known as the
European. This was accomplished with the development of residential schools and institutional

The scientific community has debated the methodology of the attainment of knowledge since
Aristotle. Social science, such as the study analyzed here, wants to develop a more engaged
relationship between knowledge and practice (Delanty Strydom, 2003). Conceiving their study on
previous research done about the nature of knowledge and the nature of learning that influences
thinking, Schommer Aikins and Hutter (2002) introduced an additional element of contemporary
controversial issues encountered in everyday life. Their research looked to populations outside of
academia to support their hypotheses. Generally, they were able to prove a relationship exists between
individual beliefs about knowledge and learning and the ability to demonstrate higher order thinking.
Education and critical thinking influence these beliefs (p. 16). The nature of knowledge and learning
beliefs influence thinking in everyday life.
Methodology
Kuhn (1996) describes a paradigm as the accepted norm of a science. The standards, rules, and
scientific tradition one follows in a particular area of scientific study comprise the paradigm.
Research, such as the one described here, is a cumulative enterprise, eminently successful in its aim,
the steady extension of the scope and precision of scientific knowledge (p. 52). The study provided

Overview of the Clip about Jim Performing a Prank on...

Workplace related injuries tend to have far reaching repercussions. The concept of safety is rarely
considered as a strong contributor in elimination of workplace related injuries. The culture of space is
one that involves creation of space that enables individuals to feel and be comfortable, welcome, and
safe. This means that there is no discrimination on grounds of biological sex or sexual orientation,
cultural background, age, physical or mental ability, race, or gender. This work explores the clip where

This means ensuring that the space created does not have impressions of discrimination on grounds of
sex or sexual orientation, cultural background, age, physical or mental disability, race or gender.
Farley et al. notes that safe space must be free from any form of harassment. This should be indicated
in the company s code of professional conduct in a corporate scenario (1626). Rockstrom and others
emphasize on provision of safe space such that the vulnerable in the society have a sense of belonging.
For instance, the disabled should be able to maneuver throughout any office space to access a region
of interest. This should be integrated in the initial or subsequent office designs to ensure the
vulnerable are accommodated.
Hutter captures workplaces where workers are restricted to working in small spaces (30). In such a
scenario, safety standards should be designed to ensure that workers are not trapped in small spaces or
fall prey of serious safety hazards especially chemical related injuries (Hutter 30). This calls for
integration of proper equipment and tools to ensure that workers are protected (Rockstrom and
Karlberg 259). Rescue procedures should remain sound to ensure fast rescue operations with proper
follow up procedures to improve safety standards whenever flaws are identified. Whenever possible,
regular safety trainings and drills should be conducted to ensure that individuals

Essay about Eugenics
Taken from the Greek word eugenes meaning good in stock the term eugenics was coined in 1883 By
Francis Galton (1822 1911). Today it is defined by the OED as Pertaining or adapted to the production
of fine offspring, esp. in the human race. We will attempt to explain what eugenics was within in the
context of its time and how it was to be applied to humans. We will also attempt to identify who its
supporters were and the many different reasons why the eugenic doctrine appealed to them.
The problem of what to do about the urban poor had been a continuing worry for the middle classes

If this could be made to happen, there would be a golden age of eugenics in which the arts, politics,
science and society would flourish. He also believed that if his ideas were not taken up, the British
would degenerate. Galton named his system of eugenics practical Darwinism.
Studies showed that the underclass was breeding at a rapid rate. Encouraging the nations finest men
and women to reproduce with one another was not enough. To achieve the dream of a golden age of
eugenics, the fecund, beer sodden, work shy poor must be actively discouraged from procreating. In
an attempt to achieve their objective, eugenicists proposed a system: encouraging better stocks to
breed, choosing a mate by rational criteria and state sponsored motherhood. This was termed Positive
Eugenics. The tactics of discouraging the unfit from breeding by use of contraceptives, voluntary or
compulsory sterilization, institutionalisation, and the end of sentimental charity were components of
Negative Eugenics.
Eugenics offered a solution to the class issues and the problem of the urban poor, which had come to
dominate British thinking. It could provide a scientific way of dealing with the dangerous classes
whose inferiority could now be condemned as an inbred fault which could only be remedied by

One of the major ramifications debunking the multiverse theory is that it is a radical metaphysical

The Danger of Deep Vein Thrombosis
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a type of cardiovascular disease. DVT is a blood clot that forms in the
large deep veins in the leg or pelvis area and grows toward the heart. Including the veins in the calf
and thighs, the femoral, popliteal, and iliofemoral vein are also the sites of DVT development. It is a
mainly common and dangerous condition (Kesieme et al., 2011). Some DVTs may cause no pain or
swelling, whereas others might be quite painful and result in a lot of swelling. Mortality is not high
with prompt diagnoses and treatment for most DVTs. However some can be a threat to your life,
especially the ones that develop in the deep veins as compared to the clots that develop in the visible
superficial veins. Clot which forms in the deep veins is more likely to break free and travel through
the veins, which is then called an embolus. When an embolus travels from the legs or pelvis area and
lodges into the lung artery, the condition is known as a pulmonary embolism or PE. This is a
potentially fatal condition if it is not treated immediately and can lead to death. As high as 50% of the
time a DVT can progress to pulmonary embolism. Collectively, DVT and PE are known as venous
thromboembolism (VTE). DVT and PE are highly preventable (Kesieme et al., 2011). Both DVT and
PE are a major public health problem worldwide. DVT affects approximately 0.1% of persons per
year. The overall average age and sex adjusted annual incidence of VTE is 117 per 100,000, with

Animal Testing Is Not All Humane And Pain Free
An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the united states for scientific and commercial
testing (ProCon.org). We are rapidly using up the earth s supply of small animals. A 2011 poll of
nearly 1,000 biomedical scientists conducted by the science journal Nature found that more than 90%
agreed that the use of animals in research is essential (ProCon.org). Right now, millions of mice, rats,
rabbits, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked up in cages and are getting killed for scientific tests to
create products and medicines. Thus, animal testing is cruel and inhumane to be experimenting on
animals, there are alternative methods available to researchers to replace animal testing, and that
animals are so different from human beings that research on animals often yields irrelevant results.
First, Animals used for scientific testing is cruel and inhumane because animal s experience feelings
just like humans. What I discovered in my research is that animal testing is not all humane and pain
free as most people think. The US Department of Agriculture reported in 2010 that 97,123 animals
suffered pain during experiments while being given no anesthesia for relief (ProCon.org). If humans
receive anesthesia during surgeries, then so should the animals. These animals undergo procedures
that cause these animals to feel 100% pain. Although animal testing may seem environmentally
friendly, animals are subjected to force feeding, food and water deprivation, and the

  • 4. Robert Frost s Life Through Poetry March 23, 2016 Robert Frost Reflects Life Through Poetry It is easy to express your emotions, and feelings through poetry. Which is exactly what Robert Frost has done through his entire career. Each poem Robert Frost has written, has meaning behind it all. He has gone through an extreme amount of events, and tragedies in his life. Frost has been through an unimaginable amount of losses, deaths, and loneliness throughout his years. Throughout his life his poetry has had a huge impact on him, the situations and losses, and emotions he had encountered in his life were expressed and showed throughout his poetry. Robert had suffered from emotional and physical abuse throughout his childhood, which had caused him to live his life being apprehensive, and afraid. Even though these things had caused him to be emotionally unstable, and leave him fearful for his entire life; they had also allowed him to be one of the most incredible poets in history. Frost s father was an alcoholic who had anger issues as well, one time he had whipped young Roberts s legs repeatedly with a dog chain (Postema, 160). Frost was born in San Francisco, where he had lived for 11 years, until his father had passed away due to Tuberculosis in 1885. After his father s passing, himself, his mother and his sister Jeanie had moved to Eastern Massachusetts. Isabelle Frost (Robert s mother), had helped her family by getting a job to be a teacher, which allowed her to continue teaching and homeschooling her own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Importance Of Misogyny In American Culture I think internalized misogyny in American culture is detrimental to all genders, but especially women. The objectification of women in media, culture, and daily life has proven harmful to the opportunities and livelihoods of women. Once women are no longer viewed, as whole and valid human beings, the subsequent rampant abuse and mistreatment imposed on them is rationalized and accepted by society. I consider myself pro women, aligning myself with pro choice and anti abuse movements, due to my partialities on the subject. The most obvious source of towards my bias is the fact I m a woman, so the consequences of sexism affect me directly. I suppose the intrinsic value of self preservation causes me to advocate against it, since I would rather avoid experiencing the repercussions associated with misogyny than face them firsthand. Combating society s oppressive attitudes increases my relative quality of life, so one could consider my support for women s rights as a selfish endeavor. Branched off my own personal attempt at self sustainability, is my willingness to empathize with other women. I hold the tendency to deeply value women s rights because I recognize the struggles inflicted by the patriarchal culture and society common to all women. I appreciate the quality of empathy because it s important in all human relationships. I despise systematic sexism, because of its direct influence on me, and simultaneously realize that I am a small entity among a small subsection of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some countries, such as Japan offer therapy for people, usually teenagers, who spend too much time playing video games or accessing the internet. This is due to the fact that technology is basically needed to live a normal life. For example, employers ask for a phone number and email address in job applications. If an applicant doesn t have a phone number or an email address, the employer would think the person applying for a job is a little weird. On the other hand, some people enjoy living off the grid , which means they do not use infrastructure such as electricity. An example of these people includes the Amish. On October 10th, I successfully completed the arduous task of not using any media for eight hours. Before I started the media fast exercise, I thought this was the most horrible thing that could happen to me. The entire summer, I was on my computer and phone communicating with my friends and watching videos. Being a college student who has a lot of reading homework, I was angry that we could not read because I wanted to read the books for my classes so I would be able to do some of my homework. As I said before, accessing the media is very typical of teenagers and college students. My generation has lived with technology our entire lives. Growing up with technology accessible to us made this exercise so much harder. I later thought about how I worked at a summer camp in the mountains for three summers. At the ... What will you remember from the article? Today, one percent of the total global population takes more than twenty percent of the global economy, which is twice the fateful dinner. An increase in the taxes leads to a massive economic growth of a country. On the other hand, lower rates of tax in any country leads to slow economic development, thus resulting in economic stagnation of such country. Johnson tries to get a bird s eye view of seeing how cholera spread through London. In that way Johnson tries to get the reader to not only see individual stories of people who contracted cholera but to produce information on how it came about, what it is, and give as much background and insight to get the reader to see information they usually wouldn t. Johnson also uses these scientific tangents to show modern era readers that based on what happened in London it forever affects us today. Johnson gives information on what happens and then he goes on a tangent explaining how essential the specific information plays a role in the development of London. He tries to bring the information of what happened two centuries ago to relate to modern readers. It was essential that Johnson gave extra information because it helped to further develop the story. Adding in these details answers the readers questions and gives an explanation on why something took place while reassuring the reader by giving factual research. It doesn t take away from the story nor distract the reader from the central idea of the story. The early beginnings of luring foreign investors to Malaysian soil started with the introduction of the Investment Incentives Act 1968, and followed by the establishment of the Free Trade Zones (FTZs) during the Second Malaysia Plan (1971 75). Since then, Malaysia has attracted a large portion of the investment dollar that flowed into Asia. In 1995, for example, Malaysia was the second largest FDI recipient among Asian economies at US$ 5.8 billion. Malaysia recorded inward FDI of USD 7.3 billion and USD 6.3 billion in 1996 and 1997 respectively. The lower figures in 1997 may be attributed to the lack of confidence as a result of the Asian financial crisis but by 1998, figures indicate that investor confidence had improved. Malaysia s highest FDI inflow was recorded in 2007 when the amount surged to USD 8.4 billion from USD 6.0 billion in 2006. FDIs are private sector investments that are made by a company into a foreign country. Foreign direct investments create a strong demand for a local currency and help boost the economy. Other members of the group then read the Twelve Traditions and the Twelve Steps (See Appendix). Next, the Gateway Group had a short intermission, so that the group could be split into two smaller groups, to allow more people to speak. There was no response, so the leader continued with the lesson. The topic of discussion was Spiritual Progress and she began describing her spiritual journey and how significant the first and third step were in her life. As she concluded, the floor was then opened for others to share stories about their Spiritual Progress. People willingly shared and gave insight on what helped them grow spiritually and physically. The Digital Assistant, Or Pda The personal digital assistant, or PDA, was a small hand held electronic device that was intended for use as a simple organizer, including features like a calendar and tasks list. Today, the PDA has fallen into disuse, replaced by its more popular and powerful successor: the smart phone. Voice recognition technology is giving rebirth to the spirit of the PDA in the form of new intelligent digital systems designed to help you manage your affairs. These reborn personal assistants are gaining popularity in both consumer and business markets due to their ability to streamline commonplace tasks. As new technologies are discovered, additional applications and markets will be uncovered for this technology to take root in. A Brief History The idea of digital personal assistants has been around in the public realm quite a while thanks mainly to Hollywood since the 1960 s. Many movies back in the sixties would depict computers or other devices that had the ability to plan and organize events with limited human interaction. Due to the production of several science fiction titles such as Star Trek, Star Wars, and A Space Odyssey, the early conceptions of such beings as cognitive personal assistants came to the public eye. Early examples of such devices included Star Trek s talking computer, the Hal 9000, and R2D2; devices that could in most cases assist or come up with plans instead of requiring humans to do the organization, reasoning, or brainstorming of all factors in the decision ... Knowledge is something that is gathered over time, changed and revolutionized based on the needs of society and dictated by the actions that humanity takes that. As a human being, not only does one person have the ability to pass down the knowledge and skills that are learnt from fathers and their fathers forefathers, but have the responsibility to continue traditions and knowledge learnt in the past that is relevant today. This idea of passing down knowledge, or at least protecting knowledge can be found in each of the course texts this year, but more predominantly in Indian Horse, and as well in Fahrenheit 451. Over the human existence on Earth, several philosophers have related Knowledge and Power to be directly linked together, It has also been said that with great power comes great responsibility. According to these fundamental teaches and rules that have been created over time, it is clear to see that having knowledge means having a responsibility to not only pass knowledge down to the next generation, but to protect knowledge and traditions from those who may with stop knowledge from advancing. Social science, such as the study analyzed here, wants to develop a more engaged relationship between knowledge and practice (Delanty Strydom, 2003). Conceiving their study on previous research done about the nature of knowledge and the nature of learning that influences thinking, Schommer Aikins and Hutter (2002) introduced an additional element of contemporary controversial issues encountered in everyday life. Their research looked to populations outside of academia to support their hypotheses. Generally, they were able to prove a relationship exists between individual beliefs about knowledge and learning and the ability to demonstrate higher order thinking. Education and critical thinking influence these beliefs (p. 16). The nature of knowledge and learning beliefs influence thinking in everyday life. Farley et al. notes that safe space must be free from any form of harassment. This should be indicated in the company s code of professional conduct in a corporate scenario (1626). Rockstrom and others emphasize on provision of safe space such that the vulnerable in the society have a sense of belonging. For instance, the disabled should be able to maneuver throughout any office space to access a region of interest. This should be integrated in the initial or subsequent office designs to ensure the vulnerable are accommodated. Hutter captures workplaces where workers are restricted to working in small spaces (30). In such a scenario, safety standards should be designed to ensure that workers are not trapped in small spaces or fall prey of serious safety hazards especially chemical related injuries (Hutter 30). This calls for integration of proper equipment and tools to ensure that workers are protected (Rockstrom and Karlberg 259). We will attempt to explain what eugenics was within in the context of its time and how it was to be applied to humans. We will also attempt to identify who its supporters were and the many different reasons why the eugenic doctrine appealed to them. Studies showed that the underclass was breeding at a rapid rate. Encouraging the nations finest men and women to reproduce with one another was not enough. To achieve the dream of a golden age of eugenics, the fecund, beer sodden, work shy poor must be actively discouraged from procreating. In an attempt to achieve their objective, eugenicists proposed a system: encouraging better stocks to breed, choosing a mate by rational criteria and state sponsored motherhood. This was termed Positive Eugenics. The tactics of discouraging the unfit from breeding by use of contraceptives, voluntary or compulsory sterilization, institutionalisation, and the end of sentimental charity were components of Negative Eugenics. • 40. The Danger of Deep Vein Thrombosis Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a type of cardiovascular disease. DVT is a blood clot that forms in the large deep veins in the leg or pelvis area and grows toward the heart. Including the veins in the calf and thighs, the femoral, popliteal, and iliofemoral vein are also the sites of DVT development. It is a mainly common and dangerous condition (Kesieme et al., 2011). Some DVTs may cause no pain or swelling, whereas others might be quite painful and result in a lot of swelling. Mortality is not high with prompt diagnoses and treatment for most DVTs. However some can be a threat to your life, especially the ones that develop in the deep veins as compared to the clots that develop in the visible superficial veins. Clot which forms in the deep veins is more likely to break free and travel through the veins, which is then called an embolus. When an embolus travels from the legs or pelvis area and lodges into the lung artery, the condition is known as a pulmonary embolism or PE. This is a potentially fatal condition if it is not treated immediately and can lead to death. As high as 50% of the time a DVT can progress to pulmonary embolism. Collectively, DVT and PE are known as venous thromboembolism (VTE). DVT and PE are highly preventable (Kesieme et al., 2011). Both DVT and PE are a major public health problem worldwide. DVT affects approximately 0.1% of persons per year. The overall average age and sex adjusted annual incidence of VTE is 117 per 100,000, with higher rates among ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We are rapidly using up the earth s supply of small animals. A 2011 poll of nearly 1,000 biomedical scientists conducted by the science journal Nature found that more than 90% agreed that the use of animals in research is essential (ProCon.org). Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked up in cages and are getting killed for scientific tests to create products and medicines. Thus, animal testing is cruel and inhumane to be experimenting on animals, there are alternative methods available to researchers to replace animal testing, and that animals are so different from human beings that research on animals often yields irrelevant results. First, Animals used for scientific testing is cruel and inhumane because animal s experience feelings just like humans. What I discovered in my research is that animal testing is not all humane and pain free as most people think. The US Department of Agriculture reported in 2010 that 97,123 animals suffered pain during experiments while being given no anesthesia for relief (ProCon.org). If humans receive anesthesia during surgeries, then so should the animals. These animals undergo procedures that cause these animals to feel 100% pain.
