Examples Of Existentialism In The Myth Of Sisyphus
PHILOSOPHY IN HIS WORKS:
At the point when France was involved amid WWII, ended up noticeably dynamic in the resistance
development and acted as the supervisor in boss in the daily paper named battle . Taking a shot at
his three books to be specific the outsider, the torment, and the fall alongside his short stories the
myth of Sisyphus and the revolt in the mid century got him global readership and notoriety. It was
in these works that he presented and built up the twin philosophical thoughts the idea of the silly
and the idea of revolt that made him well known. His assemblage of work additionally incorporates
a gathering of short fiction, banish and the kingdom; a self portraying novel, the primary man;
various emotional works, most quite Caligula, the misconception, the condition of attack, and the
equitable professional killers; a few interpretations and adjustments, including new forms of works
by Calderon, lope de Vega, Dostoyevsky, and Faulkner; and a protracted arrangement of expositions,

In his book length essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus presents a philosophy that contests
philosophy itself. This essay belongs squarely in the philosophical tradition of existentialism but
Camus denied being an existentialist. Both The Myth of Sisyphus and his other philosophical work,
The Rebel, are systematically skeptical of conclusions about the meaning of life, yet both works
assert objectively valid answers to key questions about how to live. Though Camus seemed modest
when describing his intellectual ambitions, he was confident enough as a philosopher to articulate
not only his own philosophy but also a critique of religion and a fundamental critique of modernity.
While rejecting the very idea of a philosophical system, Camus constructed his own original edifice
of ideas around the key terms of absurdity and rebellion, aiming to resolve the life or death issues
that motivated

Egon Schiele s Portrait Of Wally Essay
Art, in essence, is one of the most crucial pieces of cultural history. It transcends language,
emanates emotion, provokes thought, and stimulates imagination. In other words, art is of
monumental value in its scope of what befalls under its umbrella. It was no wonder why during
the Nazi regime from 1933 1945 that the Nazis would thieve some of Europe s most treasured
works but also those deemed degenerate. Egon Schieles Portrait of Wally is a perfect example as to
what degenerate art would be considered and what the Nazis would have been interested in
seizing, but why? Egon Schiele s Portrait of Wally is a figurative oil painting depicting Walburga
Neuzil. In this painting, a medium to close up view of Neuzil as she gazes out of the picture
with blue, oversized eyes. She wears a black gown with a white lace collar. Her hair is red, curly
and short. Her head lowered with an inviting charm. A sort of melancholic aura and sadness looms

In their relationship over the ensuing years, Neuzil would become Schiele s model, muse, and
lover. Although four years her senior, Schiele would rely on Neuzil for her care and as
inspiration for his work. A pivotal moment of their relationship occurred when Schiele was taken
into investigative custody for abduction of a minor. Although the charges brought against him
were groundless, Schiele served time in prison for 24 days for distribution of indecent drawings.
During his prison sentence, Neuzil visited Schiele every day to provide art supplies and prove
her devotion. The relationship subsequently came to an end in June of 1915 when Schiele
married Edith Harms. Schiele and Neuzil never met again. Neuzil became a nurse for the war
effort and died on Christmas day of 1917 of scarlet fever in Croatia. Schiele would die months later
from Spanish flu on the 31st of

Flower And The Bayonet
The image taken by the French photographer Marc Riboud in 1967, entitled The Ultimate
Confrontation: The Flower and the Bayonet (1967) is among the most renowned anti war news
photos and it is selected to be analyzed in this critical essay. The title directly points out the main
conflict in this picture which may arouse viewers interest and reflection but for further
comprehension, more background information is needed. The girl in the picture with a
chrysanthemum holding in her hands was a 17 year old American high school student at that time
whose name was Jane Rose Kasmir. On 21 October 1967, more than 2500 armed soldiers tried to

Saint Pierre Is An Experimental Dance Video Based On The
Saint Pierre is an experimental dance video based on the intimacy of bodies and relationships
through a feminine and affective look. The video has as a primary reference the number 6 letter
of the Tarot, The Lovers. This card speaks of; love, choices, as well as of the rational and the
emotional in harmony. This card reminds us that we often make our choices based on desires,
feelings, and hormones. Once reading Freud I noticed that for him the reasons for human
sufferings would be derived from three basic factors: the external world, the relationships
(especially the loving ones), and the body. For some time now, I have been interested in issues
related to body, desire and subjectivity. Body as the place of sexuality, the... Show more content on

This couple dancing is the representation of romantic love, but they have certain fears of this
approach because they are afraid of being watched and judged. We heard voices, rumble. There is a
world outside this intimacy.
The video begins with an extreme close up of the skin, by the hedgehogs, sweat on the skin and
whispers in different languages. The bodies touch, male bodies, male voices. A dance, an intimate
encounter. Love is the same in any language. The next shot is more open, we can see more about
these bodies, we can see their faces. Two men dancing, a kind of tango. The music that packs them
in this dance begins (Saint Pierre the name of the Song). You still cannot see where they are. The
next shots will be wider and always the same choreography packed by the same song. In the fourth
short appears another figure, a woman, red wings and a wreath on the head. The woman dances
around them, she tries shyly to enter the dance but she keeps a certain distance from them. She
dances probes the two men. The woman is the angle in the Tarot card, the lovers. She blesses the
union between these two men. The sexual energy that emanates from this dance is transforming.

The Sioux people have been living in the Black Hills for over a thousand years they have been
living peacefully until there was gold founded in the black hills causing the Sioux to lose their

went through so much in the past that even to this day they are still fighting for their rights, they
have already been kicked out of their homeland and put in to a reservation. The government is

Peer Leadership Essay
Peer Leadership Final: Section Two
1. The Retreat This was one of the best experiences that I had all year. I loved just about every
part of it. Going into the retreat, I was nervous. I worried about the school that I was missing, if I
had packed enough, if I was going to like the food, if I was going to feel a part of the group, etc.
But I faced it head on and had an absolutely incredible experience. Firstly, I really enjoyed not
having phones. It was weird for me to not be able to reach into my pocket to check the time or to
check up on what was happening back in Burlington. It allowed to to really cherish the moment and
focus on spending my time with the nineteen other people that I was with. Each activity that we did
on the retreat was a ton of fun and equally valuable for me, but I will highlight just my favorites.
One of the things that I loved most from the retreat was the one on one talks. I am someone who
doesn t tend to be great at sitting down with someone and really getting to know them and having
deep conversation with them. When I did so, I loved it more than words could speak. I am a rather
intellectual and thoughtful person, but I don t tend to share those thoughts. I talked with Lindsey,
Cal, Nylah, and Jon Michael. Those conversations were and still are so special to me. I wish that
we had continued to have those randomly assigned deep talks throughout the year, as they helped
me to validate my feelings and to really connect with individual peer

Why Is Woolf Important In A Room Of One s Own
Woolf: A room of One s Own
Virginia Woolf s passage in A Room of One s Own does a nice job showing how word choice and
splashes of imagery can take an opinion from just a statement to something that can be visualized
and impactful to others. By using good word choice and imagery, Woolf was able to show the
emotional, physical, and mental toll others had on creative women.
Before the war, at a luncheon party like this, people would have said precisely the same things but
they would have would sounded different, because in those days they were accompanied by sort of
humming noise, not articulate, but musical, exciting, which changed the value of the words
themselves. (Woolf, 344). She is saying that before the war, dialect communication was a form of
poetry because it sounded like a rhythmic flow of words that strengthened the mind. This reveals
that people lived in romantic ideology and in an illusion where everything was simple and beautiful.
Therefore, the quote that I did mentioned is important because it illustrates the communication in
the delusional English culture and how communication evolved into a coarser for after the war.
Indeed, If woman had no existence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

enough to drive anyone insane and Woolf says it well, Any woman born with a great gift in the
sixteenth century would certainly have gone crazed, shot herself, or ended her days in some lonely
cottage outside the village, half witch, half wizard, feared and mocked at. (Woolf,

The Reid Vs. Reid Essay
It may seem implausible that someone would confess to a crime they did not commit, but it does
happen, and the prevalence of such confessions occurs at a much higher rate in juvenile
populations. Aggressive interrogation methods, like those used in the Reid Technique, lead to a
greater probability of false confessions among juvenile subjects than if those techniques had not
been used. In a study completed by University of San Francisco law professor and renowned false
confessionresearcher, Richard Leo, 35% of the 125 proven false confession cases he sampled
included confessors who were under the age of 18 (2004). Before we examine what it is about this
technique that prompts false confessions, we must first outline the systematic, nine step process
developed by John E. Reid Associates nearly forty years ago.
The Reid Technique is the most widely adopted interrogationmethod used by branches of law
enforcement, the military, government entities, as well as private enterprises. To say that it is the
unchallenged gold standard would be an understatement, and understandably so. If the main goal of
an interrogation is to win a confession from the accused, then there is no greater tool. According to
Reid s own marketing propaganda, 95% Reid trained survey respondents indicated that their
confession rate improved when using the Reid Technique. More than half of them stated that their
confession rate increased by more than 25% and nearly a quarter of them said it increased by

Plunkitt of Tammany Hall Essay
Plunkitt of Tammany Hall
1. Honest Graft and Dishonest Graft When Plunkitt was tipped off about something in the city or
someone wanting to built a park or something, he sees the opportunity and he takes it. He buys up
the land before they do. When they see that they are going to need the land, he sells it to them at a
much higher price than what he paid for it, giving him a nice profit. That is honest graft. Several
politicians are accused of stealing dollars from the state s treasury, this is an example of dishonest
graft.
The condemnation commissioners came along and found piece after piece of land under the name
George Plunkitt of the Fifteenth Assembly District, New York City. They wondered how he knew

6. To Hold Your District: Study Human Nature and Act According Plunkitt talks about books being
a hindrance and the only way to last is to know everyone in your district. He talks about looking
after the people, know what they are interested in and help them with what they want. Help the
people and they will help you on election day.
7. On the Shame of the Cities In Lincoln Steffens, The Shame of the Cities, Plunkitt says that he
does not know how to make decisions. He talks about the Philadelphia Republican Gang and
Tammany Hall being almost the same. Plunkitt thinks he is all wrong. Plunkitt seems to talk about
politicians stealing, saying that they in 1905 are no worse than 1835 as a class. It just means that
the old timers had nothing to steal, while the politicians in 1905 were surrounded by temptations.
8.Ingratitude in Politics Plunkitt talks about how he was back stabbed by one of the people he
took in hand, The McManus. His friends told him that this would happen but he did not believe
them. McManus ran ahead of Plunkitt in their own district. He later broke his ties with him.
When a district leader is voted in it is like a solemn contract. If you do good and help us out, we
will re elect you next term. If you do not, you will be swatted down and will not be reelected.

The Nature Of Happiness By Daniel Gilbert
You may have guessed Stumbling on Happiness by Daniel Gilbert is all about what makes
people happy, how to make people happy, and why people feel happy in certain situations. This
assumption is correct, but Gilbert digs much deeper than these three simple questions. He
discusses the nature of happiness and explains the many, many psychological illusions that alter
our perception of happiness. Gilbert focuses on why happiness is so difficult to measure and why
many people have bias views regarding happiness. After reading this book, I feel as if I have a
more insightful view about the human mindand how it works. Personally, I think the following
quote by Gilbert sums up his book: Our desire to control is so powerful, and the feeling... Show

Humans can imagine the future and make plans for later, whereas animals can only make
predictions about the immediate future. We often look forward in time to reduce the impact of
unpleasant situations and to try to control and change our future. Gilbert goes on to describe what
happiness is. He says happiness is a subjective feeling , meaning it is impossible to compare two
different individuals level of happiness at a given time. When humans try to compare happiness
they often compare their happiness in the present with something they experienced in the past.
Gilbert explains that even when our minds compare two different things in the present we still
tend to fail to notice differences. Everyone has a blind spot of visual perception that we fill in
with what we think should be there. Gilbert compares this to our memory. Humans only store
facts and feelings in our memory that we believe are important, so when we look back at a
certain memory we simply fill in the missing details. In one of the studies Gilbert discusses, he
describes how this filling in process happens when we imagine the future as well. Our brains fill in
details about future experiences, and we are unaware this process is happening. We don t notice the
important details we may be leaving out. Humans see things that are closer to them with more
complexity than those things that are far

Different Roles of Irony in Fussell Essay
Different Roles of Irony in Fussell
The excessive use of irony throughout World War I literature paints a colorful scheme of
thoughtfulness and style. Paul Fussell gives one explanation in The Great War and Modern
Memory by stating that the war itself is ironic because every war is worse than expected. Every
war constitutes an irony of situation because its means are so melodramatically disproportionate
to its presumed ends (7). Writers obviously realized the irony of war and in turn wrote in this style
maybe not by intention, but because it was inescapable. Providing a feeling of sorrow and pity
seems to motivate Siegfried Sassoon in his poem titled The Hero in which an officer tells a mother
that her son was brave ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interestingly Owen uses irony when writing letters home to his mother. In Wilfred Owen: Collected
Letters he writes on 16 January 1917: Three quarters dead, then realizing the implications and irony
he corrected himself by writing #8230;I mean each of us Вѕ dead #8230;(393) . Other examples of
the accidental use of irony exist throughout WWI literature I m sure.
Fussell argues that the use of irony comes from memory. He states that irony is a tool used to
recollect certain events that would otherwise go unnoticed . What assists #8230;recall is
precisely the ironic pattern which subsequent vision has laid over the events (Modern 30). Fussell
uses Gunner Charles Bricknall as an example of this phenomenon . Bricknall recalls seeing new
troops standing along an often shelled road and telling the recruits about the danger. Bricknall
wrote Ho, what a disaster! We had to go shooting lame horses, putting the dead to the side of the
road, what a disaster, which could have been avoid if only the officers had gone into action the hard
way. That was something I shall never forget (31). Fussell continues that A

Across the range of decisions that groups make, group members need task, relational, and
procedural skills (Gouran, 2003). Problem recognition and framing must be identified first in
order fro decisions to be made. According to (Barge Keyton, 1994) a group cannot make a
decision if its members cannot identify the decision that needs to be made or if they frame a
decision inaccurately or inappropriately. In other words, group members have to agree upon what
the decision is really about.
The stepladder technique is one strategy that teams can use to approach problem solving and
decision making. It include five steps According to (Mindtools,2015) Present the task or problem

The Impact Of Fast Fashion On Business Environment
Introduction
The continually increasing globalization in the world has linked many countries together and the
borders have become inconspicuous. Many firms cooperate in a global market, which leads to an
increased amount of transnational corporations acting in a global surrounding (Douglas Wind,
1987). In the fashion industry, the business environment is especially competitive and firms have
to adjust their business practices rapidly such as products and launching time of each collection on
the basis of the demand of current market (Lowson, King Hunter, 1999). Companies in the fashion
industry like ZARA, Topshop and H M have emerged a new trend fast fashion that combines two
main characteristics: short lead times and trendy design products (Passariello,2008 ; Rohwedder
Johnson, 2008). However, fast fashion leaves behind some issues, which are not beneficial to
environmental protection and human costs. In fast fashion industries, it requires companies to
complete missions in a short time, some fast fashion companies use unethical acts in order to
complete producing on time which may result in environmental issue and appears unfair labour
practices. In addition, Luz (2007) pointed out that globalization provided fast fashion industries a
chance to produce clothes at lower prices so that they can sell clothes with a cheaper price. This
result in many customers considers fast fashion clothes to be disposable. Therefore, this essay will
first explain what is fast

Assisted Suicide And The Euthanasia Movement
Assisted Suicide Imagine being in enough excruciating pain for a long enough time and deciding
that even dying would be better. Assisted suicide is affecting more people around the world
every day; either under agreeable or disagreeable terms, depending on each person s opinion.
What is assisted suicide and why is controversy over this topic still here after at least 1,500 years
of existence (A Merciful End: The EuthanasiaMovement in Modern America)? There are many
factors to consider when one wants to figure out the side of this global controversy they want to
belong to. Some of these include financial demands, different types of assisted suicide, general
suicidal rates (in areas where it is already legalized), demographic facts, and its history. Assisted
suicide has produced a series of different outcomes within society: the raising of suicidal rates,
arguing over the topic, and the increasing of its popularity within the world. The term assisted
suicide is quite self explanatory in its definition: the suicide of a patient suffering from an
incurable disease, effected by the taking of lethal drugs provided by a doctor. Assisted suicide, in
the areas that have legalized it, usually has to involve a request to the physician for a medication
induced death. In some places, people are able to choose to die before illness takes control. This
method has existed for many years and has not always required a physician s approval. The history
of assisted suicide is

Compare And Contrast A Long Way Home
Countries torn by civil war often recruit child soldiers. In A Long Way Home , the Revolutionary
United Front (RUF) was attempting to overthrow Joseph Momoh s government. Boys end up
being recruited because they were starving, orphaned, alone, had nowhere else to go, and wanted
revenge on those that had killed their families. Ishmael, his brother, and friends were on the run
after the RUF attacked their home village. They spent days running, searching for food to stay
alive, and finding safe places to rest. There were times when they were separated and Ishmael didn
t know if he would ever see them again. As they strive towards safety, they witness horrendous sites
which cause nightmares. Ishmael explains that his innocence is replaced

Sleep Is An Important Part Of Our Lives
As we all know, sleep is an important part of our lives. Without the proper amounts and type of
sleep, fatigue and other problems can arise. Generally, we can clearly distinguish between a
sleeping person and a person that is awake. With sleeping disorders, the distinction between an
awake person and a sleeping person becomes more intriguing. What is the difference, how does it
relate to the I function and consciousness? Each sleeping disorder has its own unique answer to
this question. It is essential to understand sleep to fully appreciate it. However, many aspects of it
remain a mystery. We do have some degree of understanding of sleep. Within our sleep cycle a
type of unusual sleep occurs, REM sleep. During this cycle the periods of... Show more content on

The regulation of body temperature is lost and the blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rates
shows increased variability. REM sleep can be detected by measuring the electrical activity of
the brain with an electroencephalogram. At this point, the EEG will show the same pattern of
activity as when the brain is awake. It is fascinating that at this point, REM sleep, where
dreaming is frequent, the body shuts itself down. If, as suggested in class, the I function is
active at this stage, it is interesting that all body movement is inhibited. During other stages in
which there are synchronized EEGs, and the I function is not supposed to be present, the body
does not inhibit all motor activity. This seems to imply that when the I function is present it will
control the body as it sees fit. One of the more ubiquitous parasomnias is sleep talking or
somniloquy. This disorder is characterized by often nonsensical or difficult to understand verbal
vocalizations during sleep. The person may carry on conversations and seem to speak as if they
are awake. This is not constrained to a specific stage of sleep; it is present in REM and NREM.
Regardless of the stage of sleep, this is an extremely common disorder allows talking. Frequently
we talk during the day, utilize our I function when talking and remember what was talked about.
This is not the case with somniloquy. Sleepwalking, known as somnambulism, is a very interesting
disorder. The symptoms of this disorder,

Law Enforcement Lessons Learned Essay
One of the the best lessons learned from history for today s practice of law enforcement
intelligence is the necessity of obeying the law and procedures as in addition to corruption and a
lack of incentive to do things by the book many officers lacked the wherewithal to make a
difference in their jurisdiction. After much public outcry we are now able rely more on today s law
enforcementas they are placed under strict management and are regularly evaluated to ensure
consistency and reduce bias from the system. This leads into another lesson with involves
respecting people s rights, with great power comes great responsibility as they say, officers are
often tasked to respond to calls for service, order maintenance, etc. which involves many... Show

Another reason is improving methods of data collection, processing, and reporting, as in the past
law enforcement were trained to react to crime, so even if a the idea of regularly documenting all
information is brought up many officers lack the experience and the guidance to gather and process
the information that they find. Unfortunately it takes a string of tragedies that could have been
prevented through threat based intelligence prompt more security policies to be passed, but at least
now many law enforcement departments have more resources they use to guide them. Lastly is the
lesson about sharing intelligence, many law enforcement departments were hesitant to share
classified information as it would perhaps add likely so much more to their already stressful
workload and the possible repercussions of displaying evidence of misidentification and
mismanagement. However in the wake of past tragedies that resulted from the failure to provide
the intelligence it had become more apparent that it would be in everyone s best interest to open up
more channels of communication. While there are other lessons we can learn from history I feel
that these are the four main ideas that most people will agree that law enforcement should adhere

Speach Therapy Treatment Plan Essay
Treatment plan Articulation: Goal: In 6 weeks, with a treatment frequency of 5 hours a week,
mrs. K. speaks words with velar sounds (/ng/ /g/ /k/) in a 1 to 1 conversation with an
acquaintance in an intelligible way. Methods: First we will check which velar sounds mrs. K.
can produce better than the others. After that, we will do articulation exercises. We will train
syllables in a CV order and words in CVC order, but soon we will train syllables and words with
clusters to make it more difficult. Mrs. K. has a moderate flaccid dysarthria, so we think that she
can manage it to train in the beginning with complex words. That way, she will also have a
higher chance of transfer to CVC words (Maas et al., 2008, p. 2). The words we will use in... Show

Methods: We will use mime therapy. According to Beurskens Heymans (2006, p. 1) mime
therapy improves facial symmetry and reduces the severity of paresis in people with facial
nerve paresis. The aim of mime therapy is to promote symmetry of the face at rest and during
movement (Beurskens et al., 2004, p. 208). In therapy, a mirror is used as feedback instrument,
as it is necessary to see how exercises are performed. We choose to do the mime therapy in our
therapy planning because mrs. K. revealed that she wants to smile arbitrary in a symmetric way
again. We conclude from the case example that this is a very important goal for her. We expect
mrs. K. to do homework every day. She has to massage her face and neck (daily 10 15 minutes)
to relax the facial musculature and improve circulation and she has to do relaxation exercises.
Evaluation: According Beurskens et al. (2004, p. XX), the House Brackmann scale is used to
evaluate positive changes in the facial symmetry. We expect an improvement for 1 grade
(Beurskens et al., 2004, pag 210). Prosody: Later on, we want to work on the prosody, because
she has a low and monotone voice. That could be a problem when she wants to read to her
grandchildren. We expect it also to be a problem for her intelligibility when she is conversing with
other people. We think that the articulation problems have priority at this moment, so we start with
that. After

of this study is to show you the real meaning of music, the uses of music, the emotional responses of

music that you are listening to. Let s read and know more about music. Did you ask yourself
about the meaning of music? Music is made up from beauty, thoughts, and feelings (Juslin;
Västfjäll2008). According to Beethoven, the real meaning of music is From heart is came, to
the heart may it go (1979:8). Actually, I found the definition of music very romantic and
beautiful. It has a lot of meanings like: tenderness, love and familiarity. I feel like there is a
strong connection between the music and the heart. So, let us recognize music and know more
aspects about it. When we listen to music, our emotions change in a quick way (Juslin;
Västfjäll2008). For example, when someone is sad and he will listen to sad music, he will
remember the bad memories during his life. It happened to me actually when I am disappointed
from something or sad, I tend directly to listen to sad music. So, after that my emotions change
quickly. This is the way that music can motivate our feelings. In addition, music makes us enjoy our

Analysis Of The Poem Little Red Cap Essay
13 English Literature.
3.8 Develop an informed understanding of literature and/or language using critical texts
TOPIC: To what extent does Carol Ann Duffy present a feminist perspective in the poem Little Red
Cap .
The history of women has been a history of silence. (Hillary Clinton, 1995, Beijing)
This powerful statement from Hillary Clinton underpins the injustices of female representation in
the past. This silence is evident in the Bible verse, Let your women keep silent in the churches, (I
Corinthians 14: 34 37) and Virginia Woolf s concept that Anon ... was often a woman[who could
not otherwise get the respect of male counterparts]. (Virginia Woolf, 1928, A Room of One s

the male constraints of literature. In recent history feminists have deemed it necessary to research
the lost and forgotten females and retell history from a distinctly female perspective. This issue is
of significant concern to Carol Ann Duffy, the current Poet Laureate. Duffy subverts fairytales,
myths and historical stories to empower women, giving them a voice and allowing their stories to
be heard. This essay will argue that Carol Ann Duffy presents a feminist perspective in the poem

Relational Database Research Paper
Bookstores Relational Database Design
A relational database is designed to comply with a term called normalization. Normalization is a
process of organizing tables to minimize the redundancy in the database. The design of a relational
database decreases the amount of space the database uses in a system. The relational database uses
fields to help reduce redundancy in the tables. Relational designed database use the relational
value in fields, an example would be a field for Book_ISBN and a field with Title_ISBN, could be
limited to just one field naming the ISBN (Safari).
If the book store does not have experience building a relational database they should (call an
expert) practice with sample data to identify any problems in the initial design. Once they have
all the problems worked out, the bookstore can move onto building their real database. At first a
list of books will have to be compiled. This list would contain the title of the book, the authors
name, the ISBN and category which would denote the field name for each column for the
database. The domain controls the value that can be used in each column identifying the list of
books. Using the sample table will allow the bookstore to test and create ways in which the data
can be stored, manipulated and queried, called data cleanup. An example would be how ... Show

Industrialization Expansion in Russia and Japan Essay
Much of Western Europe quickly industrialized after Great Britain. If they did not, they were
immediately outclassed by the British in trade and military strength. Industrialization made good
use of the natural resources in a state. Some nations industrialized a while after Great Britain and
were falling behind. Two of these states were Russia and Japan. These countries experienced change
in governments, economic power, and social structure as a result of industrialization. Yet, these
states went through their industrializations in very different ways than each other. Russia,
industrialized as a result of many peasant revolts. The revolts led to the emancipation of the serfs in

The concentration of power into the emperor s hands led to many changes in the government of
Japan. The samurai class was quickly abolished, a national army was formed, political parties
formed, an upper House of Peers and lower House of Diet were formed, and a constitution was
drafted. Russia was very agriculturally based and did not have the sufficient technology to
industrialize. States could industrialize when an efficient agricultural system was implemented to
provide sufficient food for the factory workers that did not have land to farm. It is the trend seen
from the beginning of civilization. Trade specialization can only occur with a surplus of food.
Therefore, the first step for Russia, on its way to industrialization, was to become more efficient
at farming. This was achieved with the emancipation of the serfs. Still without a middle class, the
government played a strong role in the early decisions with industrialization. The tsar during this
time, Alexander II, had a great railroad network created that allowed for more efficient use of
Russia s plentiful natural resources. With the change of government in Japan, economic change
soon followed. Banks were founded to invest in capital, railways and steam boats were developed,
restrictions on trade such as tariffs and guilds were removed, and land was re distributed. These
reforms helped spur the Industrial

Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys shows the delicate balance between madness and sanity.
Throughout both novels there is a lot of unusual behavior to say the least from Antoinette. There are
many factors that can have a detrimental effect on one s mental stability which is shown blatantly
through the relationship between Antoinette and Bertha. This shows the relationship and balance
between inherited factors and environmental influences such as other people and events that are
happening around the person.
Though physically Antoinette and Bertha are the same person the distinction between them

into a depression like state and Bertha is the one who attacked and bit Mr. Rochester. This is

personality (Bertha) takes over in an attempt to protect and shield the weaker one(s) (Antoinette). In
a situation where Antoinette is in danger or deemed as needing to be protected Bertha takes over

Antoinette s madness is a very important part of the novel as it leads her to the life that BrontГ«

becomes a way for her to disconnect from everything and disappear for a while. Considering the

DISCUSS THE CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH BIODIVERSITY LOSS FOR 21ST
CENTURY CONSERVATION BIOLOGISTS AND SOCIETY AS A WHOLE
Although sustainable development has been at the forefront of international agenda for many
years, we continue to focus on the growth of the economy without worrying about the impact on
the environment. Currently, our ecological footprint (the area in hectares that we require to
provide us with the ecological goods and services we use) is far exceeding our biocapacity (the
actual land available to provide these services); with the human population requiring over 1.5
earths to sustain the amount of resources we use each year (WWF, 2014). As the growth of the
human population shows no sign of slowing down, with predictions there will be a further 2.4
billion people on the planet by 2050 (WWF, 2014), the pressures we exert on the planet will only
increase. This overuse of resources is not only making it difficult to support our needs, but is also
leaving little space and resources left for all the other species around the globe to thrive, and more
importantly, survive. This has led to a decline in biodiversity at a much faster than would be seen
under natural circumstances.
According to the Living Planet Index (LPI); which measures the trends in 10,380 populations of
3,038 species of fish, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds; biodiversity has been decreasing

Stephen Dunn s Poem Sweetness
After reading the Elements of Poetry and the six poems it becomes clear that there are signs of
the fourteen elements within the six poems. The Element of Poetry is what has helped me
understand the fourteen elements within poetry. The first and most important method of
analyzing a poem is look at the way the poem stanzas are structured, which are the series of lines
within a poem. For example a poem with two lines per stanza is known as a couplet, where a
poem with eight lines per stanza is known as an octave. The structure is what helps sets up the
overall organization of the lines and the patterns of sound within a poem. Take Stephen Dunn poem
Sweetness for example, his poem is made up of ten stanzas and within each of the stanzas there is
three line making his poem s structure a tercert. Another example of a poem s structure is a poem

made Lily think about herself and her life living without a mother. She realized that the queen bee
is like a mother to all the thousands of worker bees in the hive. This realization makes Lily
understand that even though she didn t grow up with her mother, doesn t mean that she could not
have a motherly figure to love her and take care of her like her mother would have. Along with the
queen bee becoming a symbol of her mother, later in the story, Lily understands that the statue of
Mary in the sisters home, also symbolizes a mother to thousands. Understanding this helps Lily
accept and deal with the trauma of her mother s death and heal her unhealed

Nuclear Strikes Essay
Nuclear Strikes
Scientifically, there is no obstacle for a nuclear or atomic bomb. There are no secrets in Nuclear
Science anymore. Anyone with a reasonable physics degree and access to a good technical library
could design a workable atomic bomb in less than 6 months, so why hasn t anyone. Maybe there
has been, no one is exactly sure. In the last 52 years there has been enough nuclear warheads made
to destroy every city in the world and still have thousands left over.(Church 40) This all happened
during the Cold War, a period of 45 years
(1947 1991), between mainly the two superpowers (United States and the Soviet
Union). Other nations were involved, and 2 wars were fought over it (Korea and
Vietnam) and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1953 the Russians did it too (thanks to the Rosenberg s). In 1958 the United States,
Great Britain, and the Soviet Union stopped testing but in 1961 France started.
Then the Cuban Missile Crisis happened. This event was the closest we have ever come to a
nuclear war. This event it really kind of woke the United States and
Soviet Union up about what could happen. Because of this a direct phoneline was set up between
the Kremlin and the white house.
The main question today is who has control of the weapons. The former superpower Russia is in
political turmoil. Now instead of two people with their hands on the button there could be dozens!
Even the Central Intelligence Agency director John Deutch said he is afraid of loose nukes being
smuggled out of
Russia.(McGirk 35) The United States is in pretty good condition because not much nuclear waste
is stolen (they believe) and no missiles ever have been stolen. But in some countries nuclear
technicians haven t been paid in six months (Russia). Security is breaking down, and waste is
leaking out. What is everyone going to do the next morning after a nuclear terrorist attack.
The four new formed nations of Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Russia all have nuclear
missiles. Although Ukraine and Belarus say they want no part of them it is not known their real
stance.(www.pbs.org) If they don t want them then where will they go. They will probably send

Self Assessment And Education Planning
Self assessment and Education Planning Through experience, I ve learned to pursue some
employment opportunities over others. I m not sure why, but some choices can be attributed to
my parents, peers, social status and the environment. These influences can also be credited to
activities that I participated in while growing up. For example, I enjoyed helping my mother
care for my younger sibling; this is probably why my strongest interest on the RIASEC spectrum
falls within the area of Education and training. Acquiring a Bachelor s degree, or Master s
degree is required to work in any of the fields assessed on the spectrum, along with the
determination and skills to fulfill the necessary requirements. Results in the interest profiler
measured my Primary area of interest as (S) Social and specifies several career options available
by obtaining a degree in psychology. The profiler outlined a person with social interest with a
preference of being involved in assisting, encouraging learning and personal growth. The Social
type prefers to communicate, teach, and offer advice to others, as opposed to working with
objects or data. Occupations listed in the (S) category as suggested from the O net material list
matches in the area of Pre School Child Care Programs, Social Worker, and Training and
Development Specialist. From assessing my interests, I ve learned that my Secondary career
interest (C), is associated with occupations in the areas of retail and office. These are both

The History of Mexico Essay
The History of Mexico
Before the Spanish Mexico was occupied by a large number of Indian groups with very different
social and economic systems. In general the tribes in the north were relatively small groups of
hunters and gatherers who roamed large areas of sparsely vegetated deserts and dry lands. These
people are often called the Chichimecs, though they were a mixture of several cultural groups who
spoke different languages. In the rest of the country the natives were agriculturists, which helped to
support the more dense populations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the Spanish came to central Mexico, the Aztecs controlled most of the central part of
Mexico through a state payment system that got taxes and stopped them from being able to act
independently from conquered tribal groups. The Aztecs moved into the central part of Mexico
from the north and accomplished a tribal story by establishing a city where an eagle with a snake
in its beak rested on a cactus. This became the national symbol for Mexico and was put on the
country s flag and seal. The Aztecs started the city of Tenochtitlan in about the early 1300s, and
then it became the capital of their empire. The Tlaxcalans in the east, the Tarascans on the west, and
the Chichimecs in the north were outside the Aztec Empire and they would sometimes have wars
with them. The nation s name comes from the Aztecs war god, Mexitli.
Spanish Conquest From when Hernando Cortez took over until 1821, Mexico was a colony of
Spain. Cortez first came into the Valley of Mexico on the Mesa Central in 1519 after marching over

Fahrenheit 451 A Dystopian Society
The meaning of a dystopian society is to be dehumanizing and as unpleasant as possible. On the
other hand, a modern day society is where people live together in the current time. In Ray
Bradbury s novel, Fahrenheit 451 , was set to take place in a dystopian society. There are many
differences and similarities between the two societies. In a dystopian society, governments tend to
ban books, have firemen set fires, and people fear reading. In a modern day society, schools
encourage books, firemen put out the fires, and most people enjoy reading. One difference between
dystopian and modern day societies, is that in a dystopian society the government orders their
firemen to burn books. In a modern day society, firemen put out fires and

Rape And Sexual Assault In Game Of Thrones
The use of rape and sexual assault as a dramatic plot device in contemporary film and television
can turn out to be either highly successful or highly problematic for those involved and their
viewers.
In many television shows of the 2010 s, most notably American Horror Story, these unspeakable
acts seem to employed as a form of light entertainment. A plot device, if you will. With seemingly
no direct link to the story being told or effect on what follows after. Similarly, Game of Thrones
has suffered mass criticism since it s premier back in 2011. However, the writers of GOT still
vehemently defend their choice of representation of rape and sexual assault crimes, stating that it
is, and was, a part of everyday life back in medieval times.
Comparing these small screen representations to those on the silver screen, it could be surmised
that rape and sexual assault in film is a more thought out process. Television writers are expected
to turn out numerous storylines throughout series and never seem to dwell on the one plotline for
too long. This very well may be why its representations of rape and sexual assault are so heavily
criticised, as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of rape in its narrative in this instance is more complex and realistic than what is
consistently portrayed in American Horror Story. Rather than happening in one episode, never to
be discussed again, or being used for shock value or the event that ignites a series of unrealistic
happenings. For example the rape of Lana in American Horror Story: Asylum, although dealt with
delicately and is unarguably a major plot point in the narrative of the entire season, many women
would find her somewhat unrealistic circumstances hard to relate

Karen Frank Response Paper
The response from Karen Frank regarding medical information that she shared was that when
printing out information to send to various parties all of your information is on that page. The
system does not have a process to edit medical information when printing. Monica Hamden shared
a similar response and explained that Epic, the system used by the office does not allow for any
other way to print out specific notes. Ms. Hamden stated that this a common practice in the office
and she has never received a complaint from any other patient; adding that she does her best when
sending patient medical notes, referring to Karen Frank. The response I received characterizes
healthcare software as the determining factor in what was shared, instead of HIPAA guidelines.
Early on DL cautioned that it was important to keep my appointments separate. Limit what is
discussed during the comp appointment to only what is pertinent or specific to the work injury.
Comp should not and does not need all of your information; only what is discussed during those
specific appointments. HIPPA regulations are rather complicated. Concerning workers
compensation, it is my understanding that patient medical information pertinent to the claim be
shared, to the extent necessary for purposes to determine and provide benefits for work injuries and
to provide payment to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Existentialism In The Myth Of Sisyphus PHILOSOPHY IN HIS WORKS: At the point when France was involved amid WWII, ended up noticeably dynamic in the resistance development and acted as the supervisor in boss in the daily paper named battle . Taking a shot at his three books to be specific the outsider, the torment, and the fall alongside his short stories the myth of Sisyphus and the revolt in the mid century got him global readership and notoriety. It was in these works that he presented and built up the twin philosophical thoughts the idea of the silly and the idea of revolt that made him well known. His assemblage of work additionally incorporates a gathering of short fiction, banish and the kingdom; a self portraying novel, the primary man; various emotional works, most quite Caligula, the misconception, the condition of attack, and the equitable professional killers; a few interpretations and adjustments, including new forms of works by Calderon, lope de Vega, Dostoyevsky, and Faulkner; and a protracted arrangement of expositions, ... This essay belongs squarely in the philosophical tradition of existentialism but Camus denied being an existentialist. Both The Myth of Sisyphus and his other philosophical work, The Rebel, are systematically skeptical of conclusions about the meaning of life, yet both works assert objectively valid answers to key questions about how to live. Though Camus seemed modest when describing his intellectual ambitions, he was confident enough as a philosopher to articulate not only his own philosophy but also a critique of religion and a fundamental critique of modernity. While rejecting the very idea of a philosophical system, Camus constructed his own original edifice of ideas around the key terms of absurdity and rebellion, aiming to resolve the life or death issues that motivated ... • 3. Egon Schiele s Portrait Of Wally Essay Art, in essence, is one of the most crucial pieces of cultural history. It transcends language, emanates emotion, provokes thought, and stimulates imagination. In other words, art is of monumental value in its scope of what befalls under its umbrella. It was no wonder why during the Nazi regime from 1933 1945 that the Nazis would thieve some of Europe s most treasured works but also those deemed degenerate. Egon Schieles Portrait of Wally is a perfect example as to what degenerate art would be considered and what the Nazis would have been interested in seizing, but why? Egon Schiele s Portrait of Wally is a figurative oil painting depicting Walburga Neuzil. In this painting, a medium to close up view of Neuzil as she gazes out of the picture with blue, oversized eyes. She wears a black gown with a white lace collar. Her hair is red, curly and short. Although the charges brought against him were groundless, Schiele served time in prison for 24 days for distribution of indecent drawings. During his prison sentence, Neuzil visited Schiele every day to provide art supplies and prove her devotion. The relationship subsequently came to an end in June of 1915 when Schiele married Edith Harms. Schiele and Neuzil never met again. Going into the retreat, I was nervous. I worried about the school that I was missing, if I had packed enough, if I was going to like the food, if I was going to feel a part of the group, etc. But I faced it head on and had an absolutely incredible experience. Firstly, I really enjoyed not having phones. It was weird for me to not be able to reach into my pocket to check the time or to check up on what was happening back in Burlington. It allowed to to really cherish the moment and focus on spending my time with the nineteen other people that I was with. Each activity that we did on the retreat was a ton of fun and equally valuable for me, but I will highlight just my favorites. One of the things that I loved most from the retreat was the one on one talks. • 10. Why Is Woolf Important In A Room Of One s Own Woolf: A room of One s Own Virginia Woolf s passage in A Room of One s Own does a nice job showing how word choice and splashes of imagery can take an opinion from just a statement to something that can be visualized and impactful to others. By using good word choice and imagery, Woolf was able to show the emotional, physical, and mental toll others had on creative women. Before the war, at a luncheon party like this, people would have said precisely the same things but they would have would sounded different, because in those days they were accompanied by sort of humming noise, not articulate, but musical, exciting, which changed the value of the words themselves. (Woolf, 344). She is saying that before the war, dialect communication was a form of poetry because it sounded like a rhythmic flow of words that strengthened the mind. This reveals that people lived in romantic ideology and in an illusion where everything was simple and beautiful. Therefore, the quote that I did mentioned is important because it illustrates the communication in the delusional English culture and how communication evolved into a coarser for after the war. • 11. The Reid Vs. Reid Essay It may seem implausible that someone would confess to a crime they did not commit, but it does happen, and the prevalence of such confessions occurs at a much higher rate in juvenile populations. Aggressive interrogation methods, like those used in the Reid Technique, lead to a greater probability of false confessions among juvenile subjects than if those techniques had not been used. In a study completed by University of San Francisco law professor and renowned false confessionresearcher, Richard Leo, 35% of the 125 proven false confession cases he sampled included confessors who were under the age of 18 (2004). Before we examine what it is about this technique that prompts false confessions, we must first outline the systematic, nine step process developed by John E. Reid Associates nearly forty years ago. The Reid Technique is the most widely adopted interrogationmethod used by branches of law enforcement, the military, government entities, as well as private enterprises. To say that it is the unchallenged gold standard would be an understatement, and understandably so. If the main goal of an interrogation is to win a confession from the accused, then there is no greater tool. According to Reid s own marketing propaganda, 95% Reid trained survey respondents indicated that their confession rate improved when using the Reid Technique. More than half of them stated that their confession rate increased by more than 25% and nearly a quarter of them said it increased by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Nature Of Happiness By Daniel Gilbert You may have guessed Stumbling on Happiness by Daniel Gilbert is all about what makes people happy, how to make people happy, and why people feel happy in certain situations. This assumption is correct, but Gilbert digs much deeper than these three simple questions. He discusses the nature of happiness and explains the many, many psychological illusions that alter our perception of happiness. Gilbert focuses on why happiness is so difficult to measure and why many people have bias views regarding happiness. After reading this book, I feel as if I have a more insightful view about the human mindand how it works. He says happiness is a subjective feeling , meaning it is impossible to compare two different individuals level of happiness at a given time. When humans try to compare happiness they often compare their happiness in the present with something they experienced in the past. Gilbert explains that even when our minds compare two different things in the present we still tend to fail to notice differences. Everyone has a blind spot of visual perception that we fill in with what we think should be there. Gilbert compares this to our memory. Humans only store facts and feelings in our memory that we believe are important, so when we look back at a certain memory we simply fill in the missing details. In one of the studies Gilbert discusses, he describes how this filling in process happens when we imagine the future as well. Our brains fill in details about future experiences, and we are unaware this process is happening. We don t notice the important details we may be leaving out. • 18. Different Roles of Irony in Fussell Essay Different Roles of Irony in Fussell The excessive use of irony throughout World War I literature paints a colorful scheme of thoughtfulness and style. Paul Fussell gives one explanation in The Great War and Modern Memory by stating that the war itself is ironic because every war is worse than expected. Every war constitutes an irony of situation because its means are so melodramatically disproportionate to its presumed ends (7). Writers obviously realized the irony of war and in turn wrote in this style maybe not by intention, but because it was inescapable. Other examples of the accidental use of irony exist throughout WWI literature I m sure. Fussell argues that the use of irony comes from memory. The Impact Of Fast Fashion On Business Environment Introduction The continually increasing globalization in the world has linked many countries together and the borders have become inconspicuous. Many firms cooperate in a global market, which leads to an increased amount of transnational corporations acting in a global surrounding (Douglas Wind, 1987). In the fashion industry, the business environment is especially competitive and firms have to adjust their business practices rapidly such as products and launching time of each collection on the basis of the demand of current market (Lowson, King Hunter, 1999). Companies in the fashion industry like ZARA, Topshop and H M have emerged a new trend fast fashion that combines two main characteristics: short lead times and trendy design products (Passariello,2008 ; Rohwedder Johnson, 2008). However, fast fashion leaves behind some issues, which are not beneficial to environmental protection and human costs. In fast fashion industries, it requires companies to complete missions in a short time, some fast fashion companies use unethical acts in order to complete producing on time which may result in environmental issue and appears unfair labour practices. • 22. Assisted Suicide And The Euthanasia Movement Assisted Suicide Imagine being in enough excruciating pain for a long enough time and deciding that even dying would be better. Assisted suicide is affecting more people around the world every day; either under agreeable or disagreeable terms, depending on each person s opinion. What is assisted suicide and why is controversy over this topic still here after at least 1,500 years of existence (A Merciful End: The EuthanasiaMovement in Modern America)? There are many factors to consider when one wants to figure out the side of this global controversy they want to belong to. Some of these include financial demands, different types of assisted suicide, general suicidal rates (in areas where it is already legalized), demographic facts, and its history. Assisted suicide has produced a series of different outcomes within society: the raising of suicidal rates, arguing over the topic, and the increasing of its popularity within the world. The term assisted suicide is quite self explanatory in its definition: the suicide of a patient suffering from an incurable disease, effected by the taking of lethal drugs provided by a doctor. Assisted suicide, in the areas that have legalized it, usually has to involve a request to the physician for a medication induced death. In some places, people are able to choose to die before illness takes control. This method has existed for many years and has not always required a physician s approval. Generally, we can clearly distinguish between a sleeping person and a person that is awake. With sleeping disorders, the distinction between an awake person and a sleeping person becomes more intriguing. What is the difference, how does it relate to the I function and consciousness? Each sleeping disorder has its own unique answer to this question. It is essential to understand sleep to fully appreciate it. However, many aspects of it remain a mystery. We do have some degree of understanding of sleep. Within our sleep cycle a type of unusual sleep occurs, REM sleep. During this cycle the periods of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The regulation of body temperature is lost and the blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rates shows increased variability. REM sleep can be detected by measuring the electrical activity of the brain with an electroencephalogram. At this point, the EEG will show the same pattern of activity as when the brain is awake. It is fascinating that at this point, REM sleep, where dreaming is frequent, the body shuts itself down. If, as suggested in class, the I function is active at this stage, it is interesting that all body movement is inhibited. During other stages in which there are synchronized EEGs, and the I function is not supposed to be present, the body does not inhibit all motor activity. This seems to imply that when the I function is present it will control the body as it sees fit. One of the more ubiquitous parasomnias is sleep talking or somniloquy. This disorder is characterized by often nonsensical or difficult to understand verbal vocalizations during sleep. The person may carry on conversations and seem to speak as if they are awake. This is not constrained to a specific stage of sleep; it is present in REM and NREM. Regardless of the stage of sleep, this is an extremely common disorder allows talking. Frequently we talk during the day, utilize our I function when talking and remember what was talked about. This is not the case with somniloquy. After much public outcry we are now able rely more on today s law enforcementas they are placed under strict management and are regularly evaluated to ensure consistency and reduce bias from the system. Lastly is the lesson about sharing intelligence, many law enforcement departments were hesitant to share classified information as it would perhaps add likely so much more to their already stressful workload and the possible repercussions of displaying evidence of misidentification and mismanagement. However in the wake of past tragedies that resulted from the failure to provide the intelligence it had become more apparent that it would be in everyone s best interest to open up more channels of communication. The samurai class was quickly abolished, a national army was formed, political parties formed, an upper House of Peers and lower House of Diet were formed, and a constitution was drafted. Russia was very agriculturally based and did not have the sufficient technology to industrialize. States could industrialize when an efficient agricultural system was implemented to provide sufficient food for the factory workers that did not have land to farm. It is the trend seen from the beginning of civilization. Trade specialization can only occur with a surplus of food. Therefore, the first step for Russia, on its way to industrialization, was to become more efficient at farming. This was achieved with the emancipation of the serfs. Still without a middle class, the government played a strong role in the early decisions with industrialization. The tsar during this time, Alexander II, had a great railroad network created that allowed for more efficient use of Russia s plentiful natural resources. DISCUSS THE CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH BIODIVERSITY LOSS FOR 21ST CENTURY CONSERVATION BIOLOGISTS AND SOCIETY AS A WHOLE Although sustainable development has been at the forefront of international agenda for many years, we continue to focus on the growth of the economy without worrying about the impact on the environment. Currently, our ecological footprint (the area in hectares that we require to provide us with the ecological goods and services we use) is far exceeding our biocapacity (the actual land available to provide these services); with the human population requiring over 1.5 earths to sustain the amount of resources we use each year (WWF, 2014). As the growth of the human population shows no sign of slowing down, with predictions there will be a further 2.4 billion people on the planet by 2050 (WWF, 2014), the pressures we exert on the planet will only increase. In the last 52 years there has been enough nuclear warheads made to destroy every city in the world and still have thousands left over.(Church 40) This all happened during the Cold War, a period of 45 years (1947 1991), between mainly the two superpowers (United States and the Soviet Union). In 1958 the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union stopped testing but in 1961 France started. Then the Cuban Missile Crisis happened. This event was the closest we have ever come to a nuclear war. This event it really kind of woke the United States and Soviet Union up about what could happen. Because of this a direct phoneline was set up between the Kremlin and the white house. The main question today is who has control of the weapons. The former superpower Russia is in political turmoil. Now instead of two people with their hands on the button there could be dozens! Even the Central Intelligence Agency director John Deutch said he is afraid of loose nukes being smuggled out of Russia.(McGirk 35) The United States is in pretty good condition because not much nuclear waste is stolen (they believe) and no missiles ever have been stolen. But in some countries nuclear technicians haven t been paid in six months (Russia). Security is breaking down, and waste is leaking out. What is everyone going to do the next morning after a nuclear terrorist attack. The four new formed nations of Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Russia all have nuclear missiles. Although Ukraine and Belarus say they want no part of them it is not known their real stance.(www.pbs.org) If they don t want them then where will they go. They will probably send ... In general the tribes in the north were relatively small groups of hunters and gatherers who roamed large areas of sparsely vegetated deserts and dry lands. These people are often called the Chichimecs, though they were a mixture of several cultural groups who spoke different languages. In the rest of the country the natives were agriculturists, which helped to support the more dense populations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This became the national symbol for Mexico and was put on the country s flag and seal. The Aztecs started the city of Tenochtitlan in about the early 1300s, and then it became the capital of their empire. Rape And Sexual Assault In Game Of Thrones The use of rape and sexual assault as a dramatic plot device in contemporary film and television can turn out to be either highly successful or highly problematic for those involved and their viewers. In many television shows of the 2010 s, most notably American Horror Story, these unspeakable acts seem to employed as a form of light entertainment. A plot device, if you will. With seemingly no direct link to the story being told or effect on what follows after. Similarly, Game of Thrones has suffered mass criticism since it s premier back in 2011. However, the writers of GOT still vehemently defend their choice of representation of rape and sexual assault crimes, stating that it is, and was, a part of everyday life back in medieval times. Comparing these small screen representations to those on the silver screen, it could be surmised that rape and sexual assault in film is a more thought out process. Karen Frank Response Paper The response from Karen Frank regarding medical information that she shared was that when printing out information to send to various parties all of your information is on that page. The system does not have a process to edit medical information when printing. Monica Hamden shared a similar response and explained that Epic, the system used by the office does not allow for any other way to print out specific notes. Ms. Hamden stated that this a common practice in the office and she has never received a complaint from any other patient; adding that she does her best when sending patient medical notes, referring to Karen Frank. The response I received characterizes healthcare software as the determining factor in what was shared, instead of HIPAA guidelines. Early on DL cautioned that it was important to keep my appointments separate. Limit what is discussed during the comp appointment to only what is pertinent or specific to the work injury. Comp should not and does not need all of your information; only what is discussed during those specific appointments. HIPPA regulations are rather complicated.
