Firebrand Of Liberty Thesis
During the American Civil War thousands of blacks enlisted to support the cause of emancipation.
Before the war ended the black troops began to shift their focus to issues such as citizenship rights
by preparing to become citizens, and insisting that they should receive the same treatment and
opportunities as white troops. The book Firebrand of Liberty does a good job arguing the
importance of the Florida expedition in convincing the North that blacks should fight and to
increase enlistment. However, the author fails to consider other reasons for that decision.
Blacks, both free and enslaved believed in the cause of emancipation. They often sent letters
affirming their desire for a Union victory and an end to the rebellion. Furthermore they looked
forward to the day when the wrongs of the institution of slavery would be redressed. This desire
was reinforced by the enthusiasm of freed slaves. The motivations of the black soldiers is also
mentioned in Firebrand of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of them were former slaves and had more reason then most to support the cause of
emancipation. However, it also mentions that a desire for revenge motivated many of them to
enlist. Even when they were enlisting there was more on their minds then just the cause of
emancipation.
However, even before the Civil War was over the black troops began to think about more than just
the cause of abolishing the institution of slavery and instead began to focus more on issues such as
citizenship rights. They were preparing, by education to be a true and worthy citizen of the United
States. While they still supported the cause of emancipation, and by extension the Union victory
that was a prerequisite for the success of that cause, they wanted more than just freedom. Not only

The Economic Problem Of Homelessness
Economic problems such as being laid off of work or the rise in the cost of housing has lead
people to live on the streets. Many of the homeless are women that have become divorced or
have left home because of physical abuse. These women have no education because they have
not been given the chance to go and get the education that it takes nowadays to get the job, so
they are forced to live on the streets. They have no family to help them and they are left with no
other choice. People with mental illnesses also become homeless quite often. These people are
incapable of handling the stress of living on their own. These people get kicked out of their
homes and are too ashamed to go to their families because of their illness, so we see them on the
streets struggling to stay warm. Teenage mothers are also forced to live on the streets because
their families will not help them. The fathers are not there and that forces them to live on the
streets. So, they must resort to prostitution to pay for the food that their young ones need to stay
alive. There are many other people that become homeless for many different reasons. Some of
these people cannot help becoming homeless. Some of these people are the illegal immigrants that
come here from other places to get a better life but end up not having enough money to make it in
this hard world that we live in. Teenage runaways have different reasons for leaving home but all
have some of the same reason for becoming homeless. They simply

The Incident Between Adrian Peterson And His Four Year Old...
This paper seeks to look at the incident between Adrian Peterson and his four year old son from the
son s perspective. There are no benefits to hitting a child and causing such undeserved pain and
suffering. There is disagreement as to whether the problems with physical punishment are problems
with frequent and/or harsh punishment or whether problem also exist with infrequent and mild
level of punishment. This paper will look at the upbringing of Peterson and the incident and
negative effects this incident had on his son. Parents have a wide discretion to administer
reasonable punishment of their children. A parent may spank a child who has misbehaved without
being liable for battery, or he may temporarily order the child to stay in his room as punishment, yet
not be held responsible for false imprisonment.
What does Corporal punishment mean? Murray Straus, a sociologist who has written extensively on
the topic, defines corporal punishment as the use of physical force with the intention of causing a
child to experience pain, but not hurt, for the purpose of correction or control of the child s
behavior. Some common forms of corporal punishment are: spanking, slapping, grabbing or
shoving a child roughly or hitting with objects like belt, paddle, or hair brush.
The debate on parenting is a very interesting topic. There are always two sides to a debate. Parents
have viewed spanking and discipline as a key if not the key to ensure a child can survive and adapt

Argumentative Essay On Scary Movies
Everyone watches movies, whether it be in a theater or just at home on your TV. The reason
that most people think of is just simply for entertainment. The fact that there are so many
different genres of movies makes it easy for us to bring out different emotions while watching
them. Those rush of emotions are what keeps us entertained and coming back for more. Scary
movies, in particular, is an example of this. Why is it that we watch scary movies so much to the
point where we have nightmares or are even paranoid to do anything? In an article, Why do we
watch scary movies?, JoAnn Cantor, outreach director for the Center for Communication
Research at the University of Wisconsin Madison and professor of 26 years, says ... there are
adults who are fearful while walking through the woods after watching Blair Witch Project or
who cannot swim, even in swimming pools or lakes, after watching Jaws . If there is such a big
impact on us after watching scary movies, then there must be a good reason why it s so
addicting. Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein, a professor of social and organizational psychology at the
University of Utrecht stated, People go to horror films because they want to be frightened or they
wouldn t do it twice. You choose your entertainment because you want it to affect you .You might
think that people who like watching scary movies aren t afraid of the things they see, but that s not
the case. It is mostly because people are able to pay attention to the movies as

Corruption Of Corruption
Introduction In a democratic system like India, the role played by the judiciary is of paramount
prominence. The judiciary, through its immaculate reasoning ability helps to keep a democracy
proficiently running, and this is perhaps one of the causes why the Independence of the judiciary
is the cornerstone of India s democracy. Transparency and accountability these are two
fundamental words which help in instituting a system of good governance in any country.
Statistics and studies have shown that where there exists a veil of secrecy, there exists corruption.
And as depressing as it is, the one body which adjudicates on corruption and lays down guidelines
to prevent such corrupt activities has been affected by corruption itself. The reason why the
collegium system was criticized and the government wanted to remove it was this very reason; it
was injected and filled with corruption. The collegium system had no room for transparency, thus it
eventually led to activities of corruption and nepotism taking place. Such acts of corruption,
nepotism etc. would in the long run affect the judiciary and the stability of the government. The
NJAC Act was introduced in the light of these events to overcome these issues and to provide a
more dependable and stable mechanism to the appointment of judges to the High Court and the
Supreme Court of India. After the National Judicial Commission Bill was introduced in the Lok
Sabha on August 11, 2014 by the Hon ble Law minister Mr. Ravi

Daniel 4
This project, primarily intends to poetically reconstruct events from the story of the life of Daniel,
a God fearing man, extremely knowledgeable, wise, from a royal bloodline who faced extreme
difficulties and immensely dire circumstances because of his faith. Under the continually changing
kings, who had overthrown his homeland, Daniel, unexpectedly became among the most powerful
people in the entire land, after the Kings made use of his God given gift of interpreting dreams. In
the face of radical change, Daniel thrived when thought humanly impossible considering his odds.
In the midst of his troubles, he trusted God, never shrinking, even while in a den of lions, despite
every logical reason to fear and doubt that God would rescue him.... Show more content on

Through the use of repetition of God s own words, from the beginning through to the end, the
theme of God, the only constant in Daniel s life will develop. Through inclusion and exclusion
of certain words, lapses in Daniel s trust in God will appear, as well as some of his weaknesses.
In certain verses, which will appear in the form of visions, God confides in Daniel through visions
of future happenings, some of which deeply disturb Daniel s spirit. In others, Daniel expresses
physical weakness, doubting his ability to even function, all the while knowing that God will renew
his strength, notwithstanding continual contrasting evidence. For example, Daniel laments, I am
overcome with anguish, because of your vision, my Lord , and have become very weak. (Daniel
10.16). In some verses, God s angels sent words of encouragement from God, which, as mentioned
previously will appear multiple times throughout the

Sexual Violence Against Black Women
According to the 2017 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence survey published by the CDC
(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), approximately 35.5% of Black women experience
some type of sexual violence in their lifetime (CDC, 2017). To understand the underlying causes of
this phenomenon, both the sexuality and general experience of Black women need to be
understood in context. It is also important to maintain an intersectional lens, as both identities of
Black and woman are important in understanding the black female experience and the violencethat
accompanies it (Crenshaw, Delgado, Matsuda, Lawrence, 2018). I will posit that the high
occurrence of sexual violence against Black women stems in part from the fact that the... Show

Two prominent examples of popular artists in this position are Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. They
are important because their immense popularity has a significant impact on how Black female
sexuality is viewed by mainstream audiences. To begin, Nicki Minaj is a popular rapper who
emerged on the scene in 2004 and with 86.2 million followers, she is the most followed rapper
on Instagram (as of April 2018). In a genre that consistently objectifies Black female bodies,
Minaj attempts to assert agency in her own sexual representation, an example of which is on the
left in figure 1 below. Cardi B is a more recent rapper, who broke out in 2017 with her hit single
Bodak Yellow. The song broke records as it stayed on the Hot 100 list for three consecutive
weeks, making her the only female rapper to do so since 1998. Similarly, to Minaj, Cardi B also
attempts to assert control over her sexuality, making a poignant statement by wearing an A (ГЎ la

Elie Wiesel s Experience In Night And Life Is Beautiful
Night Life is Beautiful There are many similarities and differences between Elie s experience in a
concentration camp and what Joshua experienced. Throughout the book and movie you were able
to take note of these comparisons and contrasts. For example, the age difference, their first
impression of the camps and overall, there main thought of the camps in the end.
Elie Wiesel was fifteen years old when he first arrived at a concentration camp. Joshua, though
was five to six years old. They both were sent away to a camp. Therefore, this shows how their
experiences with the camp are very different compared to the other. A similarity relating in how

These were a few of the rules given out in order to receive points. Elie and his father were forced

his father also had a great variety of jobs they had to do in order to receive food. Joshua did not

excerpt from her novel I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings called Graduation, Maya Angelou
narrates the anticipation surrounding graduation in her small town of Stamps, Alabama. Angelou
effectively contrives noteworthy differences between paragraphs 1 through 5 and 6 through 10

Angelou begins the excerpt narrating the graduation epidemic surrounding the town in the third
person. Starting with paragraph 6, Angelou shifts to a first person narrative, which provides an
informative insight into her personal experiences regarding her graduation. This shift in perspective
marks important stylistic differences: initially Angelou focuses on conveying the experiences of the
class as a whole, whereas after paragraph 6 she focuses on her own experiences, through which
several contrasts can be drawn. Rhetorically, these contrasts signify that identical rhetorical
strategies will have completely different connotations. For example, Angelou s classmates whose
future[s] rode heavily on their shoulders, emulate not Angelou, as youth and social approval allied
themselves with [her] and [she] trammeled memories of slights and insults. Without the shift in

Scenario Of A School Counselor
The role of a school counselor is to successfully reach the child where they are and to find ways
that will help benefit them to succeed no matter what comes their way. As a counselor it is
important to use methods and techniques that work best in the situation that is presented as well as
what works best for that student. It takes careful consideration on which direction to go when
counseling students as all students are not the same and everyone handles things different. The
focus of the counselor is to provide guidance, support and direction for all students.
In the following scenarios we see two very different situations that need to be addressed in very
different ways. The first scenario is a young boy, named Steven. He has been in three different
foster care homes, and two different schools and is currently in 1st grade, he was pulled from his
previous school where his sibling still go. The teacher complains of his behavior, lack of focus and
disruption to the rest of the class. The teacher has referred Steven to the counselor to get him
further help in managing his classroom behavior. The second Scenario is a young girl in ninth
grade, named Abby. Abby lives with her mom and two biological brothers. Mom works two jobs
just to get by and Abby spends most of her time home alone with her brother, helping care for
them. Abby is struggling academically, missing a lot of school, and is often seen alone. Abby has

Essay On The Opium War
The first opium war which began in 1839 is a story of how China a rich, prosperous and stable
power, albiet a closed, confucian society ruled by the Emperor Daoguang (r. 1820 to 1850) turned
into a weakened and compromised state brought about by the exploitation and humiliation by the
British and other Western powers throughout the 19th century. The war stemmed from an extremely
strained Sino British relation through the early 1800s, the inherent cultural differences between the
Chinese and the West especially Britain as well as their extremely contrasting views on trade in

The Norfolk Four-Course System Analysis
Recently, there has been a shift of the land: new crops and new owner. As for crops, the Norfolk
four course system has come into popularity; the system is characterized by 4 stages, wheat, then
turnips, next clover and ryegrass which is then left for grazing or fodder. Being able to leave
non producing land for 2 years maybe be a contributor to the new owners. Large farms owned by
the upper class have become more and more dominant over the years. Perhaps it is related to their
ability to follow the Norfolk system; they have the financial stability to leave the land alone.
Maybe it could be their ability to purchase the newest machinery, or it could be their ability to hire
laborers. All of this means it is harder for small farmers to compete.

Rejected Lrt Routes By Bay Street
REJECTED LRT ROUTES
Another line we considered using but ultimately rejected was Bay street as there are too many
residential areas along that road. For instance, from Aberdeen avenue to Jackson street we noted
that there is an array of Condos and homes. Furthermore, it is a one way road with only two lanes,
meaning that there isn t enough room for a LRT, construction would have to include first widening
the road then putting in the LRT, access to the road would be virtually cut off during the time of
construction. What s More, there is no mountain access from bay street, meaning the LRT would
have to make its way over to James or to Queen to use their mountain access. This would cause
major, unnecessary construction and the LRT... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually the train station will occupy the Lakeshore West GO Train meaning that the LRT

would only add to the infrastructure invested in that area The area has already been made a

The Stranger Response
The Stranger The Eye is the window to ones soul. The significance of the eye is that it can display
emotions without spoken words. Humans cannot control the inner actions of their eyes because the
eyes are apart of the body that moves unintentionally. I chose to draw an abstract art of the eye to
help the reader visualize and understand Meursault s emotions throughout the story. I also chose to
use abstract art because it was an art movement that became popular in the 1940s. During this time
period, abstract art consisted of multiple different colors and it stood as a method of expression for
those who wanted to display their feelings. I also incorporated the usage of numerous lines in my
art to represent the main character emotions. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The puzzles in the back represent the visual analysis that the author wants the readers to develop
about Meursault s life. My reasoning behind this is because his life was portrayed as a puzzle
and it was hard to understand why he did the things he did and why he acted the way he did.
There were specific colors used to represent life and death. The dark lines indicate fear and his
nonchalant attitude towards life. I used the color black because it signifies death which was
coming Meursault s way towards the ending of the novel. The green signifies life that was what
he came to value after sometime particularly after he was done talking to the chairman. The color
yellow represents happiness which was what Meursault felt when he was with Marie and when
he went to the beach. The color red represents blood which was there once he had randomly
killed one of the Arabs which lead to him having to go to jail. Orange and blue were utilized to
represent the sky and the sun that throughout the story we see Meursault talked about often.
Overall, the book cover image was created to exhibit and incorporate all the small details of
Meursault s life as described throughout the book for the reader to be able to visualize and

Essay about The Juggler
The Juggler
I want to believe in faith and risk and a world where you can stand beneath the grey October sky
and flash your own colours through the air like a magician (218 221, p. 6). These beautiful lines
constitute the final conclusion of the short story, The Juggler , written by Ursula Hegi and
published in 2001. The story deals with themes such as beauty, letting go and being stuck in the past.
The short story takes place in Coeur d Alene in the first weekend of October. An unnamed first
person narrator tells the story of her daughter, Zoe and her boyfriend, Michael who have come to
visit her. It is the first time she meets Michael, who is a counsellor at the school where her daughter

Other times I felt like I were eleven and she thirty (ll. 91 92, p. 3). The mother almost bursts into
self oscillation when she tells Michael about her memories with Zoe. This could lead to the
conclusion that Zoe is used to taking responsibility for other people and, seen from a homespun
psychological point of view, perhaps likes the fact that Michael reminds her of her mother in the
way that he needs her. Another result of the mother s loneliness and dependency on her daughter
is the fact that she cannot let her go. She lives in the past and loves the memories of a time she
refuses to leave, nor can she ever leave it unless she accepts the fact that Zoe is now a grown up.
She has her own life now. The bird has flown.
So maybe she should just handle her over to Michael. After all he is not a maniac killer or
anything. He seems rather nice and Zoe really loves him, but the narrator simply is too jealous to
be happy for her daughter, Zoe turns, smiling at him with so much light in her eyes that I have to
look away (ll. 74 75, p. 3).
The writer leaves, in a very discrete but intelligent and awfully interesting way, many symbols and
details for further interpretation. For instance, a visual description of the narrator has been left out.
Therefore, she appears as a set of thoughts, which on one side means that the events that take place
in the story often are

In fact, studies show that the more that files are shared digitally, the more printing is done

The majority of printing is now handled at the end user level. Still, several software companies
have developed software that allows estimators to import a drawing, set a scale, and begin
measurements and takeoffs digitally. This works great in the office, but does not have a good
practical application in the field. In fact, we have joked that you can t set your monitor on the

Spanish Colonialism and the Indigenous People of Bolivia
Prior to Spanish discovery of the new world, the area now known as Bolivia was home to three
major ethnic and linguistic groups; the Uru, Aymara, and Quechua. The Uru lived on rafts, fishing
and foraging along the shore of Lake Titicaca. The Aymara dominated the Uru, reducing their status
to poor fishermen and landless workers. Aymara society was built upon a basic social unit of
kinship that organized the distribution of labor, and this system, termed ayllu, was later adopted by
conquering Quechua. The Aymara are known for their practice of freeze drying potatoes high in the

Francisco Pizarro, Diego de Almagro and Hernando de Luque lead the discovery and conquest of
the Inca Empire. Francisco Pizarro arrived at the Pacific coast of the Inca empire in 1531 via the
Panama Canal. He gained support from indigenous peoples who resented Inca dominance. At the
time the Inca ruler, Atahualpa, had recently murdered a brother to obtain the throne and was in
the midst of attempting to consolidate political power. Atahualpa first encountered Pizarro on
November 16, 1532 and was promptly taken prisoner while 180 Spaniards kept an Inca army of
40,000 at bay with cannon, firearms and swords. The Inca were forced to compile upwards of
39,400 pounds of gold and silver to ransom their leader and pay the invaders to leave. When the
bounty was assembled Atahulapa was simply ordered to choose his method of death; burning at the
stake or strangulation. He chose the later and Pizarro proceeded to conquer the former empire.
Although the Spanish conquered the empire with relative ease rebellions by indigenous peoples
would plague the Iberian authority throughout their reign of colonial dominance.
Spain effectively ruled the area that is now Bolivia from 1532 1825, yet the crown encountered
difficulty controlling the actions of its officials. Initial settlement of the highlands was delayed by a

Marmee s Role In Little Women, By Louisa May Alcott
Mrs. March, Marmee, gives a supporting and managing effect as the girls strive to defeat their
apparent character mistakes. Louisa May Alcott depicts Marmee as a committed mother who
considers the importance of her responsibility to compose her children s characters and to ensure
that they develop into helpful, beneficial and cheerful women. In spite of Marmee s pedantic view
in her communications with her children, she is nevertheless a model of motherhood.
Whereas she is not a primary character in the novel, Little Women, the mother plays a very

Examination Of Paul s Thesis
In Romans, the Apostle Paul creates a powerful proclamation that salvation and forgiveness of sin
is through faith in Jesus Christ. In a series of questions and historical facts, he builds a case for his
declaration. Examination of Paul s statements provides substantiation of justification by faith
supported by the apostle James teaching.
Paul exposes his thesis by declaring a righteousness from God separate from the law (Rom. 3:21
[NIV]). God s acceptance is available apart from the old legal obedience, foretold by the Law and
Prophets, to all people, through faith and belief in Jesus Christ. From this proposal, he would argue
that history and logic prove Christ as the savior of mankind.
Beginning the argument, Paul establishes his basic

Knockin On Heaven s Door Meaning
Knockin On Heaven s Door One of Guns N Roses popular songs is Knockin On Heaven s Door,
but what many may not know is that this song was only a cover of the original song written by
Bob Dylan. Although the song is comprised of very few lyrics, it has a deep meaning for people.
The song was written by Bob Dylan in 1973 for the western film, Pat Garret and Billy The Kid. It
is written from the perspective of a dying sheriff (Songfacts). The song reached number 12 on
the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart (Aloisio). After it hit the charts, the song s popularity grew.
Many famous artists have covered the song, but another that stands out is the cover sung by
Warren Zevon around 2003. While the original and the covers sung by Guns N Roses and
Warren Zevon are similar, the artists all bring their own emotion and meaning to the song. Bob

Why Mexico And Not Canada
How do people feel when something completely biased is not in their favor? When people are
specifically targeted against for doing nothing wrong, is a horrible feeling. This is what happens
every day to Mexicans. Mexicans are practically hated if they try to come in our country compared
to the Canadians we enjoy having. People are shocked with the eye opening question, why Mexico
and not Canada. This is not because Mexicans are any worse but because there is a stereotype
problem. . . . This is a major problem buried in our country about the unjust discrepancy between
the acceptance of Mexican and Canadian Immigrants. . . This discrepancy is a biased view
about what immigrants can come into the U.S. It is huge problem how blatant racism in
America is (insert ). . . News stories flash about more border patrol agents going to protect our
Mexican American border are on all of the time. People receive a false feeling that Mexican
immigrants are horrible. On the other side, we hear little about our neighbor north of us. There is
no focus on them because the U.S already feels the only problem is Mexico. This places judgment
about not being as good as the Canadians. This because a problem of fairness; it is unfair.
Mexicans are blamed for the bulk of why U.S. has immigrationproblems. A study at the Migration

How Did The War Measures Act Affect Canada
On August 22, 1914, the War Measures Act was put into place. The Act allowed the federal
government to do anything it felt was necessary, for the security, defence, peace, order and
welfare of Canada (Breti). The War Measures Act could get put into use when the government
believed that Canada was about to be invaded or go to war. The reason the War Measures Act was
made was so that the government could push things like bills and decisions through faster. That
way if Canada does get invaded or goes to war they would not have such long waits for something

The power that had been given to the government turned it into something that did not resemble
what could be recognized as democracy today. The Act also allowed for the civil liberties of the
people to be taken away. Also, the Act was abused quite a bit by the government. The War
Measures Act was used only two times after this: during World War Two, and during the October
Crisis. During its use in World War Two Canada once again had internment camps, but this time for
the Germans and Italians. After the bombing of Pearl Harbour many Japanese were also placed into
the internment camps. During the october Crisis Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau used the War

because he was searching for members of the terrorist group, Front de Liberation du Quebec,
because they had kidnapped, British trade commissioner James Cross, and kidnapped and

reason, but it was still a serious infringement of the people s rights. Once again there was a

Rosalind Franklin and the Nobel Prize
In considering whether or not Rosalind Franklin should have been acknowledged, along with
Watson, Crick, and Wilkins, for the discovery of the double helix and awarded a Nobel Prize, one
must look what qualifies someone to win a Nobel Prize. In order for someone to be awarded the
Nobel Prize they must first meet the qualifications. The qualifications are endless, but somewhat
simple. In this case the Nobel Prizeis for science. This prize is chosen by a group of people, and
they seek to choose people whom create different views of topics in the field they are studying.
The main candidate is consistently searching to find new ideas of the concerning topic, that
could enhance the knowledge that people already have on a problem or solution in the world.
The Nobel Committee sends persons who are believed to hold the qualifications of a Nobel
Prize a form of proposal. The candidates are not chosen at random, but are recommended by
others who have excelled in their field of work. The other nominations are not made public, but
concealed for a period of 50 years (NobelPrize.org).
Franklin should be awarded the prize because her work is both philosophical and instrumental.
Although it is hard to determine to what lengths Franklin contributed philosophically to Watson s
double helix discovery, it is apparent that she contributed immensely in the sense of instrumental
work. With out Franklin, Watson would not have the X ray pictures that support the helical DNA

Ben feels trapped and does not have a clear vision of what he should do with his life in the film
The Graduate.
Throughout the film, the director uses a montage to prove that Ben is in a constant routine that he
is trapped inside of. A montage is when a series of short shots display a long period of timebeing
passed. An example of when a montage portrays Ben being trapped is during the summer when he
is going through the motions of being with Ms. Robinson and relaxing by the pool. Ben is trying to
juggle being home for the summer after graduating and having a relationship with Ms. Robinson.

When he gets off the plane at the beginning of the movie, he is moving in the opposite direction
of everyone else. This indicates the fact that Ben feels isolated from society and has not yet
found his role in it. Everyone around Ben has such high hopes for his future, but he does not
seem to care about it. Instead, he is going through life the opposite way of others after graduating
from college by lounging by the pool all day and being involved with a married woman. Ben is
very weak and indecisive and cannot seem to figure out what he wants to do with his life since
graduating. All of the choices that Ben makes seem to be very irrational and not very thought
out. For example, he drops everything and goes to Berkeley in hopes of marrying Elaine after
only going on one date together. Also, he brushes off advice concerning his future like when the
guy at his party tells him that he should invest in plastics. However, he seems to have no interest
in becoming successful or going to graduate school as he appears to be lost and traveling in the

Nfl Case Study Abroad
I respectfully request that you seriously consider adding a team in England. This expansion has
the potential to add the International revenue that the owner s and business people alike are
seeking. Mark Waller, the executive vice president in charge of the NFL s international initiatives,
has repeatedly said that he truly believes that within the next 5 10 years we could have a team up
and running in England. The world has changed drastically over the last decade, and reaching
beyond the borders of the United Stateswould financially outweigh the negative problems that I will
outline below.
Prior to 2005, the NFL s primary method of promoting its game abroad was through the American
Bowl, a series of preseason games played around the world, ... Show more content on

How do we convince existing NFL fans to switch allegiance to a new London based team? I don
t think you can accomplish this with the time zone and the deep roots fans have for their home
town teams. The Logistics of such a move would definitely hinder somethings. Money aside, an
NFL season is 16 games long over a 17 week period. That s eight games at Wembley, and it s not
only the fans that would have to put in the mileage, it s the players too. Now, London is some
distance from the US: 3,459 miles. While travelling from America s East Coast would provide
minimal problems, travelling from the West Coast back to England would take two days out of
an already hectic week. This would definitely create a competitive disadvantage for a team that
had to travel from the west coast for this game. Lastly, there is the issue having no team that
would make this move at this time. The closes team in the thought process would be the
Jacksonville Jaguars, and that is solely because of the owner and the dwindling fan base. They
are scheduled to play one game their each of the next four years, a test to see if the fan base can
be created and sustained in a country known for what they call football

Shakur s Personification
Shakur uses personification to give human qualities to give ideas of justice and liberty. Justice
and Liberty cannot wear glasses. However, Shakur states that Justice and Liberty are blind,
therefore unfair to some groups n the world. These are two references between two famous crimes
of history of the country. Lines 5 6 is directed at the conviction of Geronimo Pratt for affiliation
with the Black Panther Party. Shakur perceives that the government effortlessly convicts Pratt,
while Justice and Liberty stepped over Oliver North, Ronald Reagan, and the Iran Contra Scandal.
Shakur stresses a double standard that lives in America. An anti apartheid activist and leader. He
focused on racial reconciliation and was imprisoned for 27 years. Shakur

Andrew Luth What Is Orthodox Theology Analysis
Andrew Louth in his article What is theology? , warns that there is a danger of setting theology
down alongside all other academic studies and assuming that theologia is one of them. The
difference being the very purpose of the study. Yet within this specific discipline, namely theology,
it entails a dimension beyond the disciplines of all other human learning, that academes must bear
witness to. To consider theologyas simply the study of Godin scholastic terms, will almost 1
inevitably lead into all sorts of possible misuse of a theologian s apparent theophany. These
knowings about God cannot be presented without making clear that at its heart there is an
engagement, ultimately an engagement with God. When theology becomes a purely ... Show more

If we seek to understand it, we will only understand in part. But there is something to understand
nonetheless, and such understanding is what we might well call theology.21
In the Orthodox Church and tradition, theology has a very different meaning from the one we give
it today. It is a gift from God, a fruit of the purity of the Christian s spiritual life. Theology is
identified with the vision of God, with the immediate vision of the personal God, with the personal
experience of the transfiguration of creation by uncreated grace. Theology is not a theory of the
world, a metaphysical system ... not an intellectual discipline but an experiential participation, a
communion. 22
Revelation is also preserved in the church. The church today is a great, living storehouse of the
knowledge of God. From within the church revelation can sprout an inner revelation. In the church
the fullness of her understanding is given through doctrine, but, the knowledge of this world is
always only partial, awaiting the fullest revelation in the Parousia. It is very important to

How Integration Has Had On One Of Its Member Countries
With respect to a specific regional economic grouping (e.g. EU, NAFTA, etc.), investigate the
impact integration has had on one of its member countries Before seeing how economic integration
has been developed in Ireland, we briefly introduce the process of economic integration in a
specific regional economic grouping. According to Andrew Harrison (2010), economic integration
concerns a set of geographically close countries. They decided to build an economic and social
space in which there will not be obstacles to trade, as these relate to goods, capital and people. This
is accompanied by the creation of common institutions to manage the common interests of the
country. Economic integration is the result of construction, it cannot be... Show more content on

Its unprecedented economic boom has earned him the name Celtic Tiger . However, can the
economic success of Ireland only be explained by a European integration and the simple result of
an aid policy and funding? This essay will describe the beginnings of integration of Ireland into
the EU. Then, the essay will show that it was a successful integration and will do so via analysis
of it. Lastly this essay will show that this success was part of Ireland itself and that its economic
improvements cannot be reduced to community transfers. In the decades before integration, there
was doubt on the ability of a small poor country like Ireland, to survive when there existed such a
large development gap between the other countries in the community. Free competition,
established by Article 3 of the Treaty of Rome, was likely to disadvantage Irish companies,
family type businesses were very vulnerable to external pressure, and which, moreover, often
owed their survival to the regime of border protection. There was also doubt that the chances of a
small peripheral and post colonial state, still economically dependent on the United Kingdom, to
find its place in an international organization alongside major industrialized countries. (Kaiser et
al. 2004) The economic successes of the EEC were at the end of the 50s, which encouraged the
United Kingdom to be more interested in the EU. The UK turnaround would lead Ireland in 1961 to

Hester Prynne Religion
There is a Puritan society in the Scarlett letter which incorporates their organized religion into the
political system. Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote The Scarlet Letter and inside of the text he implies
a criticism and dislike of organized religion. The text itself critiques the style of organized
religion by describing the people as a group of people with sad coloured garments and grey
steeple crowned hats (Hawthorne 142). Hawthorne pictures the people of the town, as a simple and
dark people. The heathen of the story who divided the code of the town, Hester Prynne, is described
as beautiful from regularity of feature and richness of complexion (Hawthorne 159). He illustrates
how he believes the actions of Hester Prynne might... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hester Prynne is forced to adhere to the regulations in order to keep her child whom she loves so
much. She says that she will instruct pearl about sin and what to believe. Hester is a prime
example of someone who wishes to resist the oppression, but is forced by social standards and even
economical ones to abide by them. She is paid by the people who believe strongly from organized
religion, so if she resists the entirety of the oppression from the organized group then she would
be out of money, a town to socialize and live in, and her child which is her happiness she is my
torture (Hawthorne 325). Furthermore, Hester is her torment as well as happiness because if not
for her becoming pregnant, she would be in a normal house with her family and friends, on the
other hand Pearl is her happiness because it is still her child and she loves her. Then, Hester, being
brought up in this society herself, appeals to the emotion of the minister to try and persuade them
to let her keep Pearl. She says that God gave her into my keeping and that She should have
complete care of her (Hawthorne 325). Furthermore, the organized religious group in The
Scarlett Letter is oppressive because they form their own through and ways of life upon all
people of the town, as well as any visitors to the area. The people are stopped from resisting this
by formulating the idea that there is no way for someone to resist it and

Augustus Statue Analysis
The piece of art that I chose was the statue of Augustus from the Department of Greek, Etruscan,
and Roman Antiquities. The statue itself is made of marble and shows the emperor Augustus in a
flowing toga holding a collection of scrolls. The body and the head appear to be from different
time periods with the head being typical of other depictions of Augustuscontemporary to the time of
his reign. The body however appears to be more similar to work found during the hadrianic period
making it several centuries than the head. The common theory is that head and body were joined
together sometime in the eighteenth century when both pieces were stored in Venice. Overall, the
statue despite being a conglomerate work from different periods is a good

  • 4. Firebrand Of Liberty Thesis During the American Civil War thousands of blacks enlisted to support the cause of emancipation. Before the war ended the black troops began to shift their focus to issues such as citizenship rights by preparing to become citizens, and insisting that they should receive the same treatment and opportunities as white troops. The book Firebrand of Liberty does a good job arguing the importance of the Florida expedition in convincing the North that blacks should fight and to increase enlistment. However, the author fails to consider other reasons for that decision. Blacks, both free and enslaved believed in the cause of emancipation. They often sent letters affirming their desire for a Union victory and an end to the rebellion. Furthermore they looked forward to the day when the wrongs of the institution of slavery would be redressed. This desire was reinforced by the enthusiasm of freed slaves. The motivations of the black soldiers is also mentioned in Firebrand of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of them were former slaves and had more reason then most to support the cause of emancipation. However, it also mentions that a desire for revenge motivated many of them to enlist. Even when they were enlisting there was more on their minds then just the cause of emancipation. However, even before the Civil War was over the black troops began to think about more than just the cause of abolishing the institution of slavery and instead began to focus more on issues such as citizenship rights. They were preparing, by education to be a true and worthy citizen of the United States. While they still supported the cause of emancipation, and by extension the Union victory that was a prerequisite for the success of that cause, they wanted more than just freedom. Not only did ... • 5. The Economic Problem Of Homelessness Economic problems such as being laid off of work or the rise in the cost of housing has lead people to live on the streets. Many of the homeless are women that have become divorced or have left home because of physical abuse. These women have no education because they have not been given the chance to go and get the education that it takes nowadays to get the job, so they are forced to live on the streets. They have no family to help them and they are left with no other choice. People with mental illnesses also become homeless quite often. These people are incapable of handling the stress of living on their own. These people get kicked out of their homes and are too ashamed to go to their families because of their illness, so we see them on the streets struggling to stay warm. Teenage mothers are also forced to live on the streets because their families will not help them. The fathers are not there and that forces them to live on the streets. So, they must resort to prostitution to pay for the food that their young ones need to stay alive. There are many other people that become homeless for many different reasons. Some of these people cannot help becoming homeless. Some of these people are the illegal immigrants that come here from other places to get a better life but end up not having enough money to make it in this hard world that we live in. Teenage runaways have different reasons for leaving home but all have some of the same reason for becoming homeless. They simply ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Incident Between Adrian Peterson And His Four Year Old... This paper seeks to look at the incident between Adrian Peterson and his four year old son from the son s perspective. There are no benefits to hitting a child and causing such undeserved pain and suffering. There is disagreement as to whether the problems with physical punishment are problems with frequent and/or harsh punishment or whether problem also exist with infrequent and mild level of punishment. This paper will look at the upbringing of Peterson and the incident and negative effects this incident had on his son. Parents have a wide discretion to administer reasonable punishment of their children. A parent may spank a child who has misbehaved without being liable for battery, or he may temporarily order the child to stay in his room as punishment, yet not be held responsible for false imprisonment. What does Corporal punishment mean? Murray Straus, a sociologist who has written extensively on the topic, defines corporal punishment as the use of physical force with the intention of causing a child to experience pain, but not hurt, for the purpose of correction or control of the child s behavior. Some common forms of corporal punishment are: spanking, slapping, grabbing or shoving a child roughly or hitting with objects like belt, paddle, or hair brush. The debate on parenting is a very interesting topic. There are always two sides to a debate. Parents have viewed spanking and discipline as a key if not the key to ensure a child can survive and adapt to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Argumentative Essay On Scary Movies Everyone watches movies, whether it be in a theater or just at home on your TV. The reason that most people think of is just simply for entertainment. The fact that there are so many different genres of movies makes it easy for us to bring out different emotions while watching them. Those rush of emotions are what keeps us entertained and coming back for more. Scary movies, in particular, is an example of this. Why is it that we watch scary movies so much to the point where we have nightmares or are even paranoid to do anything? In an article, Why do we watch scary movies?, JoAnn Cantor, outreach director for the Center for Communication Research at the University of Wisconsin Madison and professor of 26 years, says ... there are adults who are fearful while walking through the woods after watching Blair Witch Project or who cannot swim, even in swimming pools or lakes, after watching Jaws . If there is such a big impact on us after watching scary movies, then there must be a good reason why it s so addicting. Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein, a professor of social and organizational psychology at the University of Utrecht stated, People go to horror films because they want to be frightened or they wouldn t do it twice. • 8. Corruption Of Corruption Introduction In a democratic system like India, the role played by the judiciary is of paramount prominence. The judiciary, through its immaculate reasoning ability helps to keep a democracy proficiently running, and this is perhaps one of the causes why the Independence of the judiciary is the cornerstone of India s democracy. Transparency and accountability these are two fundamental words which help in instituting a system of good governance in any country. Statistics and studies have shown that where there exists a veil of secrecy, there exists corruption. And as depressing as it is, the one body which adjudicates on corruption and lays down guidelines to prevent such corrupt activities has been affected by corruption itself. The reason why the collegium system was criticized and the government wanted to remove it was this very reason; it was injected and filled with corruption. The collegium system had no room for transparency, thus it eventually led to activities of corruption and nepotism taking place. Such acts of corruption, nepotism etc. would in the long run affect the judiciary and the stability of the government. The NJAC Act was introduced in the light of these events to overcome these issues and to provide a more dependable and stable mechanism to the appointment of judges to the High Court and the Supreme Court of India. After the National Judicial Commission Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 11, 2014 by the Hon ble Law minister Mr. Ravi ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Daniel 4 This project, primarily intends to poetically reconstruct events from the story of the life of Daniel, a God fearing man, extremely knowledgeable, wise, from a royal bloodline who faced extreme difficulties and immensely dire circumstances because of his faith. Under the continually changing kings, who had overthrown his homeland, Daniel, unexpectedly became among the most powerful people in the entire land, after the Kings made use of his God given gift of interpreting dreams. In the face of radical change, Daniel thrived when thought humanly impossible considering his odds. In others, Daniel expresses physical weakness, doubting his ability to even function, all the while knowing that God will renew his strength, notwithstanding continual contrasting evidence. For example, Daniel laments, I am overcome with anguish, because of your vision, my Lord , and have become very weak. (Daniel 10.16). Sexual Violence Against Black Women According to the 2017 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence survey published by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), approximately 35.5% of Black women experience some type of sexual violence in their lifetime (CDC, 2017). To understand the underlying causes of this phenomenon, both the sexuality and general experience of Black women need to be understood in context. It is also important to maintain an intersectional lens, as both identities of Black and woman are important in understanding the black female experience and the violencethat accompanies it (Crenshaw, Delgado, Matsuda, Lawrence, 2018). I also chose to use abstract art because it was an art movement that became popular in the 1940s. My reasoning behind this is because his life was portrayed as a puzzle and it was hard to understand why he did the things he did and why he acted the way he did. There were specific colors used to represent life and death. The dark lines indicate fear and his nonchalant attitude towards life. I used the color black because it signifies death which was coming Meursault s way towards the ending of the novel. The green signifies life that was what he came to value after sometime particularly after he was done talking to the chairman. The color yellow represents happiness which was what Meursault felt when he was with Marie and when he went to the beach. The color red represents blood which was there once he had randomly killed one of the Arabs which lead to him having to go to jail. This could lead to the conclusion that Zoe is used to taking responsibility for other people and, seen from a homespun psychological point of view, perhaps likes the fact that Michael reminds her of her mother in the way that he needs her. Another result of the mother s loneliness and dependency on her daughter is the fact that she cannot let her go. She lives in the past and loves the memories of a time she refuses to leave, nor can she ever leave it unless she accepts the fact that Zoe is now a grown up. She has her own life now. The bird has flown. So maybe she should just handle her over to Michael. After all he is not a maniac killer or anything. • 43. Film Techniques In The Graduate The film elements montage, subjective camera, and left to right and right to left to portray that Ben feels trapped and does not have a clear vision of what he should do with his life in the film The Graduate. Throughout the film, the director uses a montage to prove that Ben is in a constant routine that he is trapped inside of. A montage is when a series of short shots display a long period of timebeing passed. An example of when a montage portrays Ben being trapped is during the summer when he is going through the motions of being with Ms. Robinson and relaxing by the pool. Ben is trying to juggle being home for the summer after graduating and having a relationship with Ms. Robinson. He is constantly going from the hotel with Ms. Robinson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When he gets off the plane at the beginning of the movie, he is moving in the opposite direction of everyone else. This indicates the fact that Ben feels isolated from society and has not yet found his role in it. Everyone around Ben has such high hopes for his future, but he does not seem to care about it. Instead, he is going through life the opposite way of others after graduating from college by lounging by the pool all day and being involved with a married woman. Ben is very weak and indecisive and cannot seem to figure out what he wants to do with his life since graduating. All of the choices that Ben makes seem to be very irrational and not very thought out. For example, he drops everything and goes to Berkeley in hopes of marrying Elaine after only going on one date together. Also, he brushes off advice concerning his future like when the guy at his party tells him that he should invest in plastics. However, he seems to have no interest in becoming successful or going to graduate school as he appears to be lost and traveling in the wrong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Nfl Case Study Abroad I respectfully request that you seriously consider adding a team in England. This expansion has the potential to add the International revenue that the owner s and business people alike are seeking. Mark Waller, the executive vice president in charge of the NFL s international initiatives, has repeatedly said that he truly believes that within the next 5 10 years we could have a team up and running in England. The world has changed drastically over the last decade, and reaching beyond the borders of the United Stateswould financially outweigh the negative problems that I will outline below. Prior to 2005, the NFL s primary method of promoting its game abroad was through the American Bowl, a series of preseason games played around the world, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How do we convince existing NFL fans to switch allegiance to a new London based team? I don t think you can accomplish this with the time zone and the deep roots fans have for their home town teams. The Logistics of such a move would definitely hinder somethings. Money aside, an NFL season is 16 games long over a 17 week period. That s eight games at Wembley, and it s not only the fans that would have to put in the mileage, it s the players too. Now, London is some distance from the US: 3,459 miles. While travelling from America s East Coast would provide minimal problems, travelling from the West Coast back to England would take two days out of an already hectic week. This would definitely create a competitive disadvantage for a team that had to travel from the west coast for this game. Lastly, there is the issue having no team that would make this move at this time. The closes team in the thought process would be the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that is solely because of the owner and the dwindling fan base. They are scheduled to play one game their each of the next four years, a test to see if the fan base can be created and sustained in a country known for what they call football ... • 46. Andrew Luth What Is Orthodox Theology Analysis Andrew Louth in his article What is theology? , warns that there is a danger of setting theology down alongside all other academic studies and assuming that theologia is one of them. The difference being the very purpose of the study. Yet within this specific discipline, namely theology, it entails a dimension beyond the disciplines of all other human learning, that academes must bear witness to. To consider theologyas simply the study of Godin scholastic terms, will almost 1 inevitably lead into all sorts of possible misuse of a theologian s apparent theophany. These knowings about God cannot be presented without making clear that at its heart there is an engagement, ultimately an engagement with God. When theology becomes a purely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If we seek to understand it, we will only understand in part. But there is something to understand nonetheless, and such understanding is what we might well call theology.21 In the Orthodox Church and tradition, theology has a very different meaning from the one we give it today. It is a gift from God, a fruit of the purity of the Christian s spiritual life. Theology is identified with the vision of God, with the immediate vision of the personal God, with the personal experience of the transfiguration of creation by uncreated grace. Theology is not a theory of the world, a metaphysical system ... not an intellectual discipline but an experiential participation, a communion. 22 Revelation is also preserved in the church. The church today is a great, living storehouse of the knowledge of God. From within the church revelation can sprout an inner revelation. In the church the fullness of her understanding is given through doctrine, but, the knowledge of this world is always only partial, awaiting the fullest revelation in the Parousia. How Integration Has Had On One Of Its Member Countries With respect to a specific regional economic grouping (e.g. EU, NAFTA, etc.), investigate the impact integration has had on one of its member countries Before seeing how economic integration has been developed in Ireland, we briefly introduce the process of economic integration in a specific regional economic grouping. According to Andrew Harrison (2010), economic integration concerns a set of geographically close countries. They decided to build an economic and social space in which there will not be obstacles to trade, as these relate to goods, capital and people. This is accompanied by the creation of common institutions to manage the common interests of the country. Economic integration is the result of construction, it cannot be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Its unprecedented economic boom has earned him the name Celtic Tiger . However, can the economic success of Ireland only be explained by a European integration and the simple result of an aid policy and funding? This essay will describe the beginnings of integration of Ireland into the EU. Then, the essay will show that it was a successful integration and will do so via analysis of it. Lastly this essay will show that this success was part of Ireland itself and that its economic improvements cannot be reduced to community transfers. In the decades before integration, there was doubt on the ability of a small poor country like Ireland, to survive when there existed such a large development gap between the other countries in the community. Free competition, established by Article 3 of the Treaty of Rome, was likely to disadvantage Irish companies, family type businesses were very vulnerable to external pressure, and which, moreover, often owed their survival to the regime of border protection. There was also doubt that the chances of a small peripheral and post colonial state, still economically dependent on the United Kingdom, to find its place in an international organization alongside major industrialized countries. (Kaiser et al. 2004) The economic successes of the EEC were at the end of the 50s, which encouraged the United Kingdom to be more interested in the EU. Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote The Scarlet Letter and inside of the text he implies a criticism and dislike of organized religion. The text itself critiques the style of organized religion by describing the people as a group of people with sad coloured garments and grey steeple crowned hats (Hawthorne 142). Hawthorne pictures the people of the town, as a simple and dark people. The heathen of the story who divided the code of the town, Hester Prynne, is described as beautiful from regularity of feature and richness of complexion (Hawthorne 159). She is paid by the people who believe strongly from organized religion, so if she resists the entirety of the oppression from the organized group then she would be out of money, a town to socialize and live in, and her child which is her happiness she is my torture (Hawthorne 325). Then, Hester, being brought up in this society herself, appeals to the emotion of the minister to try and persuade them to let her keep Pearl. She says that God gave her into my keeping and that She should have complete care of her (Hawthorne 325). • 49. Augustus Statue Analysis The piece of art that I chose was the statue of Augustus from the Department of Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities. The statue itself is made of marble and shows the emperor Augustus in a flowing toga holding a collection of scrolls. The body and the head appear to be from different time periods with the head being typical of other depictions of Augustuscontemporary to the time of his reign. The body however appears to be more similar to work found during the hadrianic period making it several centuries than the head. The common theory is that head and body were joined together sometime in the eighteenth century when both pieces were stored in Venice.
